Counter Culture Coffee: what do users think?

Hawkeye Johnson: This is NOT A COFFEE SHOP This is a training center for their Wholesale partners. BUT COME IN EVERY FRIDAY AT 10am for a FREE coffee tasting. Hands down the best place for a coffee tasting in dc I’ve visited. Each week it’s a different coffee and a different method and you learn something new every visit.

Ariele Foster: this is not a coffee shop, they don't do retail (go next door to buy a cup or bag of coffee from Pleasant Pops), but it is a classy coffee training center and their tastings are fantastic on Fridays at 10am.

Lady J: best place EVER!! The crew that works in there are really great, always so informative, super friendly, and their knowledge about coffee is intriguing to say the least.
Response: Thanks for the kind words, Jackie!

Russell Boone: wher is the cofee?
Response: Hi, Russell, We don't operate retail locations. Our Washington, DC Training Center is open on Fridays at 10 a.m. for a free coffee tasting. Note: Saturday, March 24, 2018, we are hosting an open house in the the new space! https://counterculturecoffee.com/blog/counter-culture-coffee-to-celebrate-the-opening-of-its-new-location-in-washington-d-c Otherwise, our class schedule is posted on our website: https://counterculturecoffee.com/learn/training-centers/washington-dc-training-center Please email us if we can answer ay questions: https://counterculturecoffee.com/about-us/contact-us Thanks!

US Holocaust Museum Cafe: what do users think?

Jenny Iglesias: I was extremely upset!!! Very hot and I needed to eat and drink something and not enough tables and chairs laid out!!! They were stacked up and wasn’t allowed to take a chair!! A man was going to assist me - 70 year old lady. Unbelievable bad service! Appalling actually! Terrible attitude! Bad service and leaves a bad impression to tourists, especially from abroad! Not acceptable!!!!!

Roni: Visiting this museum was so sad just knowing what happened and actually seeing the history behind it and reading the stories and see the images and artifacts from that horrible time period. You could feel the emotion from other people as you walked through and as the tour guide spoke about the exhibits and told the tragic history that millions of people experienced. I recommend visiting this museum if in Washington.

Madison Jamerson: Cafe is terrible. All the staff seem very unhappy and yelling at guests. No real order and stressful for guests. Museum itself is wonderful!

Josh Kraus: Omg, gas station food is better. The soft pretzel was barely soft.Museum was worth it tho. Good ppl working there.

WM: The museum was fantastic, but also extremely crowded. So many people trying to get through the main exhibit that it was difficult to read all of the info. Great learning opportunity for the kids. Maybe a visit during off peak seasons would be best. Be sure to get timed tickets for main exhibit early.

Darlene Terry HH-HH: Not many options in this part of D.C. Affordable lunch and even though pre-made options due to COVID restrictions the lunch was very good.

Tajemniczy Świat Żydów: There is no kosher food in the cafe. Kind of ridiculous that cafe in Museum of Holocaust have no food for Jews. Security in cafe extremely rude. Terrible experience. Skip it!

isabel Walker: Good cafe. Normal prices for a museum cafe, that is expensive. Takeout only at the moment.

David Nilsen: Not much of a selection and a little pricy for what you get.

Sunny McKaig: Amazing. Reflective. Moving. Get tickets well in advance for the permanent exhibit. A must see.

La Colombe Coffee Roasters: what do users think?

Landis Rojas: This is the best coffee that I ever had! If you are a truly coffee lover, this is the right place for you! A beautiful place to stop by. They have so many coffee choices (Hot or Cold) yogurt, juices & chocolates. I really recommend it

Ido Simyoni: I usually really like la colombe coffee however I don’t think they made it right this time. My oat milk latte was too hot (burnt my tongue) and I am not sure what oat milk they used but it didn’t taste good.

Aljohara: I name it the cozy coffee place, with such lovely and friendly staff. The coffee is OMG so delicious and has rich flavors, they also provide sparkling water and it is so yummy too.😋 Highly recommended to going there, it's my first time here and surely not the last. 😍

A7med Q: Great place and coffee but they can be better they don’t know about pour over coffee and the options are limited. The sets very bad you need massage after setting here

Jessica Border: The coffee is here great, no doubt. But I went there this morning, sign in door says that it’s open at 7 and the doors were locked, it was about 7:15. I was trying to communicate with the worker inside to ask her what time it would open and she just shrugged her shoulders and didn’t know. I got up early just to grab a coffee on my commute in to work. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Page Graham: Great coffee. Friendly staff. Very clean store.

Robert Mitchener: Went to this fine little coffee shop, and ordered a mocha with a desert called a "Suisse" a French pastry with creme and chocolate. The deserts are made from a local bakery called The Baguette, and brought in daily. The desert was rather delicious, but the coffee was a bit too bitter for me. I got an iced mocha, which I normally never do; but, there was no indoor seating and it's around 95°F outside; so, rather than cooking my insides and outsides I decided to go iced. I usually get a mocha because it compliments the bitterness of coffee with the sweetness of chocolate, in this case the plan backfired. Regardless the place is still nice and the staff were incredibly friendly! I'd go again, in hopes I just got unlucky.

Joe Darden: Fast fun and friendly service. Great for grab and go place but seating is a little tight. There are some tables on the sidewalk but they don’t have a barrier so you get some street folks up in your business. The coffee here is great. Most people say that in reviews, but let me explain because I have a bit higher requirements when it comes to coffee. They pull proper shots using freshly roasted beans that they roast locally. They use single origins and blends, roasts are light to medium, and they take every beverage they serve you seriously. This is craft coffee. They take care of every aspect from roast to brew to ensure you have the best beverage experience. There are no McDonald-style push button machines and dark over roasted coffee like this national “premium” coffee stores. This place uses actual skills and are true baristas.

Dane Fergusson: Excellent cappuccino and iced coffee! Took the Metro across town just to try this place and it was well worth the trip!

Sandy R: My first time visit here in d.c . I was searching for a good coffee shop. I found this shop. I had a Nice biscotti. It was Crispy and tasty. They also had a sample chocolate biscotti which was good.

Tynan Coffee & Tea: what do users think?

Nathan Bickell: Price on the menu is not the price.... It felt like the tax on my orders were absurdly high so i asked for a receipt. Turns out there is a "recommended service" automatically added to your order, and then tax on top of that. The receipt still has recommended gratuity, so this isn't a tip... also it can't be a tip if you HAVE to pay it... Also you don't even get the option to accept or decline a receipt... I had to affirmatively ask for it... also shady and clearly done to keep people oblivious to the charge. Absolutely nothing in the store or the menu indicates this is the case. If you need to raise your prices fine... but just raise the price! Don't add some hidden fee to every bill. It's a nice place but I'm not going back to support nonsense business practices like this.

Jessica C: This place has my favorite lattes/mochas. I think it’s because of the textured milk. Their seasonal honey lavender latte was fantastic — sweet but not sickeningly so. Their ancho chili mocha has the exact right amount of spice. Unfortunately though, these don’t translate to their iced coffee counterparts. If you want a flavored drink, order it hot, as the flavoring separates and you can taste powdered cinnamon (or whatever it is) when served cold. Great selection of pastries including bullfrog bagels. This is always where I go for a treat.

Herbert Meisner: When I move into a neighborhood, I really try to become a part of the community. My favorite thing to do is find coffee shops to try out and meet the staff. Before I moved to Columbia Heights, I visited a bunch of coffee shops. Tynan is by far my favorite coffee shop in DC (and honestly, ever!), and holds an incredibly special place in my heart because it was the first place I dined indoors and sat in to work after being fully vaccinated. The staff are incredibly friendly (shoutout to John, Leti, and Maria!), their food is great (especially their power bagel, love bullfrog bagels and the BMT and grown up grilled cheese), and I love their homemade syrups for lattes. The staff are so personal, I brought my parents to the coffee shop and introduced them to the owner. Its a lovely place, lovely vibe, favorite coffee, and super convenient since its right next to the west entrance of the Columbia Heights metro. Its my go-to local coffee shop, and I can't praise it or recommend it enough!

Audrey Jane: Ordered a delicious cafe con leche. Their ginger flavor was great. But I came here specifically to work on homework the register worker informed me that the manager turns off the Wi-Fi on the weekend?? The description for this place advertises wifi, I was disappointed when there wasn’t any. Had to go to another place, wish I didn’t spend my money here

Margot Igland Skarpeteig: Perfect espresso - so sweet! And patient and super friendly staff.

Shey Wilkin: Made a quick stop into Tynan during our trip to DC pre-pandemic. Nothing too memorable, but I do recall it being really close to the bus stop, which made it super convenient, since we were strictly traveling by free public transport at the time. Husband had that delicious looking waffle, egg, and cheese sandwich sitting in a pool of syrup. I think I got a turkey avocado sandwich. I would go here again.

Real Live Blue: The everything bagel, blueberry waffle and turkey sandwich are amazing🔥🔥🔥🔥

Chris Dock: Writing this on my phone because their wifi is that bad. Decent place to come for food, the coffee is just okay, and I can't recommend it at all if you need to get work done. Go to Tryst or Elle instead nearby.

Haim Haviv: Laptop-friendly neighborhood cafe. However, the bagel my breakfast sandwich was served on was dry and internet is limited so you need a code every hour. Otherwise friendly staff and a spacious place.

Nancy Cosner: Amazing. Chilli ancho mocha. My new fave. I like spicy. This has got just a touch at the end. Barista super helpful and friendly. My first visit. Will definitely return.

Grace Street Coffee Roasters: what do users think?

Terence Tuhinanshu: Great space, fine music selection, one of the best egg and cheese sandwiches I've ever had! Ice chai was great too. Definitely coming back here 💗

Stephen Shields: Incredibly peaceful and calming after walking the Georgetown strip. The vanilla latte was a perfect temperature and silky smooth. Interesting note… their company roast their own beans and the syrups are made fresh in-house! The latte art is a nice touch to boot! The staff is incredibly friendly! Thanks for the great experience!

Luis Mantilla: Very cute on the inside but where sometimes that means a lack luster coffee this place delivers! Coffee was very good. The people were very kind. The neighborhood/street had tons of style. Overall great experience and definitely stopping by again. Photo attached is of the coffee plus the bagel shop I went to before. Great combination.

Emma Rose Wooten: Cute cafe on a quaint little side street in Georgetown. Feels very granola since it’s part of a cycling shop. It doesn’t seem like the coziest place to study or do work but definitely a good place to socialize or regroup after a lot of walking!

Fernanda Lanzagorta: The coffee is good. The only down point is that even though this coffee shop is listed in several websites as a good place to work, you should be aware that during the weekend this doesn’t apply. They also have food in case you want to seat and enjoy. Available seating outside. Staff not to friendly.

David Pohly: Outstanding coffee, but also a great place for food. Loved the grilled cheese and tomato soup.

Lilly L: Nice staff, super helpful and welcoming. The place is rather small and the seats aren't comfortable. Could be a lot more cozy. Also it is pretty expensive, $5 for a 8oz mocha (photo) with oat milk.

Wilma B: Amazing spot! Good place to have some work done while having a cup of coffee!

Anshul Malhan: Got a cappuccino from Grace Street which was smooth and tasted great. The cafe is nice too with good furniture and sufficient outlets if you’re looking for a spot to work. It’s off the main street so it doesn’t get too noisy because of traffic too.

Kinga Szilagyi: Good coffee but it’s inside of a store so it’s super noisy, not the best for working or taking work calls It’s noisy and loud as there is something going on at all times! There aren’t enough power plugs either but the Wi-Fi is good! I read that it’s one of the best cafes and I’m kinda disappointed

The Wydown Coffee Bar: what do users think?

Khoi Nguyen: Great coffee spot located on a busy street. I recently stopped by on an early Sunday and the line was almost out the door. My friends and I ordered a regular coffee, espresso shot and a matcha latte. Prices are reasonable for DC and service was really quick. I’ll definitely be back for their breakfast pastries

Josephine Valois: I’ve had good experiences the first few times I’ve stopped by for breakfast, but this time was just the worst. $12 for avocado toast and it’s covered in so much oil I used 4 napkins to wipe it off. It’s completely soggy with oil. I unfortunately didn’t notice until I walked home to eat. The coffee is good, but get the breakfast sandwich instead.

Michael Meotti: Good coffee, great scones (I had the cherry almond, good amount of fruit and a bit of sugar icing on top...all to the good!) and nice location with comfortable indoor seating, some tables outside and a roll open garage style door/window in the front for nice weather.

Muniba Khan: Really great coffee, I'll definitely be back to try the smoked salmon and pastries! Service was great and quick and the place itself is really cute. I came late morning on a Monday and it wasn't too busy. I only wish that they had wifi because it would be a great place to study or work otherwise. Update: I tried the pastries and they were very good! The scones are absolutely amazing, I think I got a cranberry almond scone and I loved it. I also got the jalapeno biscuits- they were really good but I felt that the jalapeno flavor was subtle.

Oliver Wiehe: The flavor of the coffee is exquisite. The coffee is so good it needs no sugar or cream. Be sure to order a orange cranberry muffin. The sugar layer has a wonderful crunch to the warm fruit flavors inside. Atmosphere is casual urban. Wydown coffee bar is a must visit when close to U street in DC.

chparatrooper88: Wydown Coffee Bar. One word…wow.Coffee is second to none. Gluten free options. Price is the best yet.

Emir Sfaxi: I love Wydown since I don’t live far from it. However I was really disappointed that they removed the blueberry lavender scone and their pimento cheese biscuit. These two items were part of their best sellers! They also removed the croissants from the menu and never brought them back.

Jhori Lobban: Elizabeth is the best barista there! She is immensely respectful and kind and has a very nice personality. She made sure my order was correct and the latte was perfect ! Hope you guys are treating her as the asset to your establishment that she surely is.

Ravi S.: They use the lightest roast from their coffee supplier for their espresso. This results in a highly acidic, sour shot. Furthermore, milk drinks taste a bit curdled because of the extremely high acidity. If you like the espresso here, you have no sense of what good coffee is. Perplexingly, the line here is always long, indicating the sad state of coffee quality in the District.

BJONESADVENTURE: Perfect coffee. If you are fortunate enough to live close to Wydown then I'm sure it's already your go to spot. If you are passing through DC make this a stop on your list.

Compass Coffee: what do users think?

Eze Travel: Loved the location! Inside the shop is super cool and it seems like the products they sell are good. My lower rating comes from the skill level of the barista. I ordered a latte and got it with a lot of foam (more like a cappuccino) and it was super hot! Burning hot. It made the taste of the espresso extra bitter. Anyways, I’m sure it was just one of those days. But since I was only visiting and stoping only once in several coffee shops, I want to be as helpful and descriptive as possible.

Hannah Hutler-Boyd: Had to try the cherry cold brew after getting several recommendations. Truly enjoyed it. Was expecting it to be overly sweet but it was more subtle, well balanced with the coffee. Will be back for more
Response: We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your Cherry Blossom Cold Brew, Hannah. We also think it is a great spring drink!

Akash B: I first visited this chain's location near the McPherson Square location, and the drinks & service were great. I went to this location on a later date with others during a celebration. The only woman at the front was incredibly rude and unfriendly, not to mention that all the drinks turned out terrible, even though I ordered the same drink I got last time. When three drinks cost $20, customer service shouldn't be on-par with a Burger King at closing time. That doesn't even take into account the fact it spoiled the celebratory mood—if you want to try this chain, I highly recommend visiting one of their other locations. There's also a La Colombe & Starbucks nearby.
Response: Hey Akash, I am sorry to hear about your experience! We usually pride ourselves on our customer service so I would love to be able to sit down over coffee to hear about where we can improve!

David Feuer: Good coffee, so-so pastries. Staff don't wear masks, and one of them told me not to sing. Customers are also largely unmasked. Perhaps the owners aren't aware there's still a pandemic.

Amy Stein: This is fantastic local coffee shop with a wonderful selection of teas and coffees. My chi tea latte was one of the best that I have had in a very long time. The atmosphere is bright and welcome with a large seating area. The staff and service were excellent. The individual with me, said his coffee was very good.

Renee von Behren: Hip coffee shop with a great vibe. The nitro cold brew was beautiful and delicious. The staff is very friendly. No place to sit inside the shop, but they do have two counters to stand next to. Outside there are benches where you can sit.

James Nguyen: Love all the locations especially this one. Americano and cold brew were so good. Lattes are all delicious too and the vibe is great

Ashlina Chin: Stopped in after a lunch date with my sister and she highly recommended this place. I got the tumeric honey latte and she got a decaf latte. There was plenty of seating and the atmosphere was very quiet and peaceful. We sat on some comfortable couches and caught up. I will definitely be coming back!

Keshav Bhandari: Camera friendly zone.We ordered Iced Latte with little sugar it was just perfect .Wide selection of coffee .

Winer Deep: They have great coffee and great bagel sandwiches, and the service is quick! I have been here many times already, and they are consistent with the taste of their coffee, bagels. They had the friendliest and accommodating employees I have met. I highly recommended their Latte, and this is a must-visit coffee shop!

The Bridge Cafe: what do users think?

Henry Sprouse: The Bridge has a very unique location with a great atmosphere. However, their bagels and often stale and they frequently run out of brewed coffee.

Robert Lyons: The Bridge Cafe is one of American University's hidden gems. The coffee is delicious (and surprisingly well-priced) and the atmosphere is just the right amount of casual. Even when the place is packed, you usually don't have to wait too long to snag a seat. And if you're looking to pass the time, they have a nice selection of games to keep you occupied. Make sure to check their Facebook page for any events they may have going on (like jazz or trivia nights).

Benjamin Dempe: Really great vibe and good coffee. It's usually crowded but somehow not too loud. Music is always nice. The only thing is that it is cash only l, but I'm guessing that'll change in the near future.

Anam: i can’t stop thinking about this turkey cheese veggie hummus bagel sandwich i ate a couple weeks ago omg (the iced hazelnut latte was great too)

Christopher Yandell: classiest location on AU's campus

Mary Hiebert-White: Great vibe and location! Really good drinks as well.

Johny Leonado: Wow i like coffee

Denton Cohen: the best place to get homework done!! good live music as well 🎶

Compass Coffee: what do users think?

Chanpen Tee: I ordered Latte. It's very good coffee. The smell is nice. There are a lot of seating. It's a nice atmosphere
Response: Glad you enjoyed your visit, hope to see you back soon!

Natalia Suska: Best coffee at Georgetown and arguably all of DC! Came here so many time while studying at GU and they nailed the drinks every time. The baristas are super sweet and helpful too. The almond butter lattes are my favorite but everything tastes amazing.
Response: Hey Natalia - Thanks! The team tries their best to make your day better. We love almond butter lattes as well!

Teresita Bañon Leal: Good place to sit and work on something or just to have a coffee with a friend.Perfect to grab a coffee. Generally you will have to do a line to grab a drink but the line goes fast.Good quality of coffee and nice staff.
Response: Glad you had a great experience, thanks for coming in!

Micaela O: Cool big coffee shop. Perfect place to come and get some work or reading done while enjoying some delicious coffee. Had the almond butter latte and it was insane! Quick and good service as well.

Hind KH: There is no doubt that their coffee is always good. I really love this branch, and for me it is the best one. It is somehow big and it has plenty of tables that makes it a perfect spot to have your work done.

Logan Deyo: Great coffee shop with nice baristas, plenty of places to work (outlets galore), and good coffee. Plus a little fireplace in the back!
Response: Hey Logan - Thanks! We love the many outlets too! Charging our devices and charging our spirits!

Marc Neilson: This is my favorite Compass and the setting is ultra charming and cozy - complete with modern fire place. I have the BEST cafè au laits here with oatmilk. I just wish they were open later.
Response: Hey Marc - We are open until 7:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays! Hope to see you on the weekend and wind down!

Jennifer: Good spot, clean bathrooms, and solid coffee. Iced coffee didn’t have too much ice at all, which is a pet peeve of mine. And they have a tap for water (still or sparkling) which is a nice bonus!
Response: Hey Jennifer - Thanks for dropping by! I'm glad our bathrooms were clean and the Cold Brew was REAL Good!

P. E.: I visited here because. I heard it was somewhere you have to visit in Georgetown, but it didn't live up to my expectations. The coffee was good and the staff seems pretty busy so don't blame them for that, but it was crowded with a huge line and when I went to the bathroom it was totally gross with no toilet paper, and stuff all over the floor. A layer of dust on the sink with a hair in it...?! I'll stick with Saxby's next time.
Response: Hey P.E - I'm sorry our restroom was in poor condition when you came in. I'm glad you enjoyed the coffee. I'll work with my team to ensure the restrooms are in better shape. Hope you'll try us again in the future.

Zelin Li: Compass Coffee does a great job in terms of consistency and this shop is no exception. Lots of varieties, pour-over, cold brew, what have you. The staff are knowledgeable. The location can’t be better. The only downside is you may find a lot students sitting here for hours thus it isn’t easy to find a seat :P

The Coffee Bar: what do users think?

Mo Stych: Really bright, friendly coffee shop with fun specialty drinks. We were hoping for the cardamom latte (on a recommendation from a friend) but they weren’t serving it anymore. Bummer! However, the turmeric latte was delicious. The staff is super welcoming and fun, making us feel comfortable from the very start. Good tunes and a farmhouse chic decor. Worth a visit if you need a caffeine fix!

Melvin Johnson: I really enjoyed this coffee bar. It’s fairly trendy/bohemian on the inside. Love the atmosphere and they give you the option of Single Origin Espresso in your beverage. Highly recommend.

Jessica Day: Coffee and the patries were delicious. I wish there was more and comfortable seating. The place is good for someone coming and going. But for us who are tourists and wanted to sit and enjoy our time. This wasn't the place.

Hila Fogel-Yaari: Wonderful service and cardoman hot cider. I love that the cider came with a piece of toffee.
Response: Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for the feedback 😊

Kristen McNicholas: The mocha is delicious, they let you bring your own mug and though its a little pricey, the quality and customer service make it worth it!

Will Koehrsen: A typical over-priced corner coffee store. The staff are friendly and the coffee (at least the lattes) are very good, but you pay a hefty price. A good choice if your fine spending $5+ on a cup of coffee, but not a great value. There is limited seated inside, and when I went (late afternoon) all the seats were occupied.

Hagai M: Coffee is good, service is great, great design, great vibe, but the line, though moving fast, could be challenging... one personal wish would be better pastries. The stock products on display are definitely not 'best in show', though would do for a grab and go. Second personal wish would be just a bit more shade. The big glass windows are beautiful, but with a sunny day can be quite challenging to most skins.

Vishal Sinha: This is most definitely my go to place for some good (upscale) pour over coffee (and other treats). The store has been popular and busy since they opened a few months back and have managed to offer the same level of service and coffee since the start. They offer a small number of coffee options that are all very good! They do offer coffee from Onyx Coffee from Fayetteville, Arkansas - one of my favorite coffee roasters. Their pour overs are made well with consistently and I even like their cold brew :) Staff is friendly and always ready to recommend a drink if needed. A good addition to the busy coffee scene in DC

Michael Tofte: Absolutely love this coffee shop. The clarity of the pour over is up there with some of my favourite coffee shops across the states. There's not a lot of seating, so, if it is busy, don't expect a lot of study room. However, the staff is incredibly fast, efficient, kind, and quality. Bonus points for the boldness to play a boy band station on one visit to hit my guilty pleasure fix.

Vlad Korobov: Nice barista. Tiffany colors. Stylish. Not a lot of space, very popular during the day. Did not find wifi here

Gregorys Coffee: what do users think?

Scott “DC Cheetah” Suchyta: As someone who seeks out good coffee, Gregory's is a place that I will go into if I don't have the option for a shop that roasts in-house. I find the coffee more palatable than something like Starbucks and I've generally had good experiences with the staff. It's still not my favorite coffee, but it meets the the threshold that I'll have it when I desperately need coffee.
Response: Scott, thank you so much for the feedback. All of our coffee is roasted in house. Sorry to here the coffee at the 1900 L st location wasn't up to standards. I would recommend trying our Peppermint Mocha on your next visit.

Krystal Perez: Cute little coffee shop I found on my lunch break this evening , the baristas are so sweet and creative I felt at home here ... they allow inside seating and presented me with a fancy latte, with art included! Keep it up ladies, your the best !!!
Response: Thanks for the feedback Krystal! Next time you visit trying one of our cold brew options, I recommend the Flower Power.

Saray Fischer: Stopped by this afternoon for a quick pick me up, I was surprised that this cafe was open but it feels like home , great music, soft lighting, tons of plants, and the male barista served me at my table, I loved it. I felt special and will be returning when I need to get out of the office more often . I will be recommending this chain to my coworkers , family , and friends !

Monika Raj: The staff are among the nicest folks I’ve ever met and make visiting this place worth it. However, the store consistently has issues with their online ordering system…often times it’s down or underestimates how long it will take to be ready. This in no way is the fault of the staff and they do their best to work with what they have…but this is not reliant if you are hoping to grab coffee before a meeting
Response: Monika, thank you so much for the feedback and for bring this issue to our attention. We will address this right away.

Elizabeth Hung: Loved my experience and drink here! The indoor decor is so hip and cute. The menu choices all sounded amazing but I went with the matcha latte with oat milk. It was perfectly matcha-y and unsweetened (my favorite). One of the best matcha drinks I have gotten in the dc area. My friend got the chai and he said it was great as well.
Response: Awesome news Elizabeth, thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the Matcha! See you soon!

J D: One of the best mocha lattes I've ever had. It wasn't too sweet, had a great flavor, good size, good price, and well made. Place had a good atmosphere. Was clean for a 2PM visit. Had a bit of foot traffic, and pretty busy, but only one person in front of me. Coffees were coming out at a good pace and the staff was nice. I'd definitely come back and go out of my way if I were in the area to get another coffee from here.

Linsay Culver: --------Friday, September 7, 2018 @ 1pm----- I'm sipping one of their mochas as I write this and I have to say I'm impressed. It isn't often that I get a great flavored coffee that isn't over sweetened. The coffee doesn't even have a hint of bitterness. The barista pulls a perfect shot. She also didn't overuse the mocha sauce or flavor. The coffee tastes a lot like Evan Bros out of Sandpoint, Idaho. I also got a chocolate chip cookie, which isn't the best, but it's decent. I'm going to save the rest of it and put it in the microwave at home. I think it will be better. Chris, the cashier was super nice and extremely helpful. Wish I would've seen the baristas name, too. She is a very talented barista. Sheade a perfect heart in my crema! Anyways, the atmosphere was modern industrial. Not overly comfortable, but quaint. The service was excellent and fast. I'll be back when I'm back in DC in a few weeks. If you are in the area try it. If a place can make a decent mocha, the rest of their coffees are generally going to be good, too.

Sharon Angela Naidoo: This place ticks all the boxes, good service, GREAT COFFEE and wonderful atmosphere. I have visited this coffee place everyday I stayed here. The coffee always had a personal touch. The picture below is a cortado with skim milk.

Fred Kingman: My wife and I agree that this cafe has good drip coffee, and great customer service. There is indoor and outdoor seating, we chose outdoors. She had the breakfast burrito. I tried the skinny and it was wholesome. Definitely worth a second visit next time were in town.
Response: Fred, thank you so much for your feedback. Next time your in town, your coffee and breakfast sandwich will be on us./

Adam Rutkowski: There needs to be some customer service training. Business opens at 7am. I showed up at 7:03. It was raining outside. The door was unlocked. I entered and was told I had to leave because you weren’t open, yet. Instead of inviting me to sit in the foyer area in a chair, out of the rain, I was escorted out of the space and the door was locked behind me… in the rain.
Response: Hi Adam - I'm so sorry to hear about your experience this morning. It is definitely not how we should have welcomed you in out of the rain and served you right away even as we were setting. I've addressed this with the team and I want to invite you back in for coffee and a treat on us to make up for this. DeeDee ,the manager on site will be there and will take care of you! So sorry again and looking forward to seeing you again. -Greg

La Colombe Coffee Roasters: what do users think?

Forrest Cory: Coffee was good and atmosphere was nice - fairly empty at 3pm on a random Thursday. No wifi though which is surprising considering it’s a coffee shop and only a few power outlets available if you need to plug in a laptop or charge a phone.

dipika: This La Colombe grabbed a huge space in a key spot in the city, and ample seating makes it a good place to work for a few hours (though there aren't any obvious outlets for you to stay charge up). The coffee menu is extensive and wide ranging, but tea lovers will be somewhat limited unless they go for leaf. The pastries are decent, and their service is friendly and quick. All in all this is a good spot to have in the neighborhood.

Leslie Williston: This place is pretty good for a local chain. The coffee was good. the seating was okay, no where comfy to sit, more of a work type of coffee shop, not a be cozy and read coffee shop.overall i enjoyed my experience

Norah kh: I was so disappointed with my experience, the tables still limited and No AC in a hot summer day , otherwise the coffee was good and the barista was nice & welcoming.

Hind KH: Their coffee is good. I ordered flat white. However, the place doesn’t have AC and they still have limited tables and time.

Lali Singh: Not sure what the point of a coffee shop is in 2022 without wifi. Why do people drink coffee before work ? Yes the taste is especially important but in general coffee became great because it's an addiction people use to be productive most of the time.

Rick Kemp: Great Espresso but more importantly great staff. I have been to many really good coffee shops. This is a GREAT coffee shop and it's Ali and her staff that make the difference. The space is also very inviting. Highly recommend - which I rarely do.

TheCaracolina: Good coffee and good croissants, nice place for work

m rivera: The coffee tasted smooth. It was a bit pricey for a coffee. It is very spacious inside to work and relax. Kind of hidden from the main 14th st, it on the opposite side of the 7-11.

Aaron Johnson: The city mask mandate has been lifted. Case rates are low. Yet walked into colombe and they insisted on wearing a mask, then you sit down and take off your mask for the remainder of your stay. Given the extremely high vaccination rate of their clientele and the fact that you just take your mask off once you sit down, this strikes me as pretty close to pure theater. I don't like theater. I went to Wydown down the street because they aren't so absurd.

Compass Coffee: what do users think?

MFPhoto1: Good atmosphere Friendly service. Delicious cakes. Though the coffee is just average, though certainly better than Starbucks. The menu is limited. I would not recommend this place for breakfast, but I would for a mid-day snack break.
Response: Hi MFPhoto, thanks for writing in. We're glad you enjoyed the coffee and service and stay tuned...we're working on more breakfast options.

Sarah Goolden: i basically live at this coffee shop! the coffee, esp the fun, seasonal drinks, are amazing and my favorite so far in DC. the staff is so friendly. i dont feel like they’re just memorizing names but really getting to know people. whether it’s to study, grab a quick coffee or hangout with friends, this location is so warm and inviting. i could and do stay there for hours.

Kumar Aniket: Place for coffee connoisseurs. They are purist when it comes to coffee. My single origin Papa New Guinea coffee was poured over to perfection. A lovely space with leather couches to sink into and work or meet for a chat. The fish tank with fire in the middle is especially a nice touch.

joyce b: A must if in NW for coffee. My fave location for compass coffee. High quality, dc-roasted coffee beans. Also love their tea lattes. Try the London fog tea latte. Family friendly! - kids area with seating, books, toys. Multiple types of seating - conducive for studying, meetings, catching up with friends Great space! Light filled! Large. Parking - validated (2 hr) parking lot directly behind. Supports using reusable cups.

Vlajko Senic: This is the best place for early morning coffee in DC. Great staff, superb service, charming and comfortable interior
Response: Hi Vlajko, thanks for all of the feedback, sounds like you had a great visit!

V. K.: I regret going to this coffee shop Compass Coffee this morning Sunday. I oredered 2 Cappuccino drinks. I felt unwelcomed and not inclusive to this world. Tall young guy is a cashier who processed my order that he seems weirdo antipatico type. He asked for my name. I told him my name Van in order to put name on the cups. He did not want to and preferred to write down exact name that is listed on credit card. Also he added CAP on coffee cups based on my appearance what I wore. He could write GLASSES or PURSE or UMBRELLA or SCARF or TAIL on coffee cups who came in to order a coffee drink. Cappuccino taste is smooth milky like anywhere you can get same one. Top surface of the cappuccino drink lacked art and bland. Here is attached photo of the Cappuccino drink what I got. There I got mixed vibes and I will not come back.

Marc Neilson: Update: for some reason, this location cannot make a Chai latte to save its life. Three separate baristas only produced milky syrup. Odd. Additionally, they close early when other businesses in complex are open later, double odd. If you want coffee that's so good it makes you cry, come here. If you want to interact with staff that are beyond friendly and who actually know what they're doing, come here.
Response: Hi Marc, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We certainly want you to have a chai that you enjoy, so please always let us know if there's anything we can do to improve the drinks we're serving you at the café. We hope to have more hours in the evening soon!

Eric Medina: Nice place. First time trying Nitro style coffee, it was good. Comfortable seating in a casual atmosphere.

Gina: So glad that Compass Coffee has opened in Spring Valley. Their coffee is 10x better than Starbucks, and not as expensive. This location also has a nice/cute space.

Andrew Hunt: Terrible service - baristas were talking to their friends instead of making drinks, even though there were >10 people waiting. Took 20 minutes to make a cold brew. ☠️ I'd recommend the Starbucks across the street.

Blue Bottle Coffee: what do users think?

Z Mengal: The best Croissant I have ever had! And the cappuccino and Latte were so so good. Perfect for before catching a train. Just be careful with the homeless ppl, I don’t mind them when they mind their own business but we came across with an aggressive one, you cursed at us and smashed the food on another gentleman’s table when he was denied money.

Mischa: This is a nice and cute coffee shop, inside of the train station. The drinks are overpriced in my opinion, but this place is still nice. Their cappuccino is great.

Brad Bichsel: One of the better Blue Bottles around. Over the last several years Blue Bottle has slowly moved into the DC market… one of their first shops in Georgetown was so terrible that I took my drink back… that said it’s very good to see how this location is doing well… from the friendly and knowledgeable baristas and slow pour bar to the consistently delicious treats, this spot gets a A+. Location vibe is also very strong as you watch baristas in their “fish tank” make your drinks while you sit and enjoy the atrium at Union Station in all its grandeur. One thing that stood out is the slow pour bar… many specialty shops have gone to automated CHEMEX or pour over systems… while those can be great for consistency, they also loose the personalized touch… which can also be a negative, but this Blue Bottle did a great job with the balance. Pour Over on point!

Dan “Dhans Gadget Shop” Toro: the coffee is the best. Amazing. No kidding im a coffee lover. I wish i had ordered a large one!

Laurel Kuhn: Not your typical coffee which is a fun change of pace. Staff is very serious about what they do and offers the best looking and tasting coffee. Careful taste and presentation takes time so plan accordingly. Looks like it had mobile ordering but our experience was to grab a coffee and chill for a few mins so the atmosphere and experience was perfect for this.

Michelle H: I usually go to Blue Bottle because of its consistent high quality. But here the employees were chatting and not pouring coffees. Eventually I asked the barista when he thought he might be able to get to my latte. He focused back in on it, but gave me oat milk (which is their new default option) rather than what I ordered. Since I was running for the train, I couldn't go back to fix it.

Eric E: Don’t waist your money on Starbucks, get this and enjoy✨ ☕️👌🏻My recommendation: Late with Oat Milk

Joel Shapiro: Great place for a coffee. I ordered a single origin straight espresso, and it was a great decision. This weeks offering was an Ethiopian coffee. Glad I stumbled into this place instead of going to the first coffee place I saw in Union Station….

Timothy B: Forget Fivebucks. Great to see a cappuccino prepared at the correct milk temperature. This is how a cappuccino should taste!

Dieter Vanuxem: Amazed about their slow brew. I was expecting a regular coffe but the flavour was so much better than expected. Also the service was really friendly.

Slipstream: what do users think?

Paolo Verzani: exceptional espresso program. Truly incredibly gifted craftsman. When I visit from NYC I without fail come to visit this cafe and I always get a flat white and enjoy the oudoor seating they have and read my Bible and just unwind. It’s the greatest cafe with a really stunning food selection too! I love their avocado toast, it goes well with their habenero spicy jam!

Ido Simyoni: Such a hipster place for a weekend brunch. Really enjoyed the vibe, service and food. Everyone was so nice and friendly.

Sofia Diaz: We went because of the good reviews online, the place was nice and cozy we were excited to eat there. However after ordering and having paid we were told that we had to eat outside in the rain. It was not the best experience to say the least. Food was ok. I would have preferred to have been given a heads up before ordering.

Lindsay Bishop: The coffee, food & service here is fantastic! I'm a regular at this point- it's a great casual environment to work out of with excellent quality food & espresso. The vanilla Tahitian Latte Iced with Oat Milk is incredible, as well as the avocado toast & breakfast sandwich. Highly recommend!

Angela Huffaker: Carrot cake muffin with sage and cream cheese + breakfast sandwich where amazing, but the coffee was the show - Maximum Effort put in

Jeff E: Great coffee and food. They need to update their offerings online as they say open for dine in and they are not.

S B: Several people behind me got their orders before me. i asked what happened; woman said sorry making your red eye now. she had two cups in her hands and couldn’t tell which one had espresso shots and which one had something else. shockingly, during the pandemic, her colleague put his nose in both to figure it out. took a sip and it was full of vanilla. returned, and she acted like this was a casual mishap—really though, she forgot my red eye and then made a it with shots of vanilla, and then just handed me a new cup of coffee on the spot without even making espresso. kind of grossed me out and i had to work way too hard for a simple order that was overpriced ($6+).
Response: Hi there, we always aim to provide a great experience and we are very sorry that we did not deliver on that for you. Thank you for letting us know so that we can do better. We would appreciate the opportunity to make it right for you, can you please send us an email at sayhello@slipstreamdc.com with your name and contact info? Thank you again and we hope to make it right!

Ian Desouza: Came to this cafe because of the reviews but unsure how it’s reviewed so highly. Just ordered a couple of oat lattes, the price (excluding tip) was greater than $12. Unfortunately one of the worst coffees I’ve had, tbh I would rather go to Starbucks. The staff’s perfunctory service failed to compensate for a poor quality coffee.

Sue Loftis: This was such a cute little coffee shop. Small and not kid friendly. I had the vanilla iced latte, it was perfectly sweetened, not too much sugar that overpowered the coffee flavor. And the Avocado toast was prob the best I’ve had anywhere. I’ve never had it the way they make it but I was pleasantly surprised.

cosmopus: Nice, cozy place. Nice spot to start your day with.Negative side: not clean utensils

U.S. Capitol Cafe: what do users think?

Bingo Esq: I had a hearing, but needed to pass some time. I ate here and the food was quite good - a pleasant surprise. As with any public place, it's always a good idea to be very polite to the staff. They work hard and they deserve kindness.

Megan Wadsworth: The restaurant manager was extremely knowledge about food and preparations for a gluten free meal for our celiac daughter. The chef was also consulted for specific ingredients. There was bbq with bun, pasta, dessert and snacks available as gluten free options. We felt very comfortable eating lunch and highly recommend!

Fabian Raygosa: Like any other eatery. EXCEPT the awesome desert capitol themed treats. CMON ...they look so good. And taste good as well. There are lots of great options for the carnivores and for the leaf eaters. I think the quality is much better than normal. It could be because any given day high end people eat there.

BradJill: There is a decent cafeteria style food court at the U.S. Capital. We had cheesecake and chocolate cake here and coffee. The coffee was standard American brewed and the desserts were surprisingly good. There is also a souvenir and gift shop if you fancy making a purchase or two before leaving.

Cara DeRoeck: Not sure why this cafe is listed as “open” on the internet. Totally understand that many things are still not open because of covid and 1/6 and would have totally understood had we not checked multiple places and nowhere did we see that the cafe was not open for dining. Had requested tickets from our wonderful congressman a few months ago for tour and never heard anything. Assumed tours must have been full. After walking quite a bit to get there, seeing signs for the cafe (looking forward to the bean soup), we reach the capitol and see a sign near an entrance only to have a security guard yell at us from a balcony above to move back. We asked about entering and he asked if we were congressmen in a somewhat mocking tone. We told him we thought we could eat at the cafe and were told it was closed. Maybe someday?

Zachary R: I mean ok food, long lines, but great selection.... The biggest issues and I am giving this place a low score is because one of a male employee who was complete jerk... So heres what happened, I bought these flags from the gift shop and put them on my bag, and was eating here after buying the flags... so i was going to get a refill and was maybe going to get a cupcake... so as i was turning, I was making sure not to stab anyone with my flags when suddenly this old dude with a blue tux who i believe works here got really into my personal space and from what i remeber was saying something along the lines of remeber of refills.... reguardless it left a real bad taste in my mouth.... Cheers

Joseph Middleton: A convenient location to eat within the US Capitol Visitor's Center. This restaurant is an a la carte cafeteria. The prices here are higher than outside. That is my biggest criticism. However, the food is high quality and prepared well. There is a wide variety of options meeting many, if not all, dietary needs. On my visit, I chose to keep as inexpensive as possible with a chicken tender platter. I also purchased a drink and a slice of pie. This meal came up to approximately $14.50. This is more than I would have paid for a similar meal elsewhere, but the convenience of knowing we wouldn't miss our tour made this our meal choice. While not my first choice, this restaurant is a good and convenient place to eat for a day visiting the Capitol Building.

Nikki Allen: Anyone who has small kids know that you should always pack snacks and if not you have to deal with consequences (a fussy child). Due to not being able to have food in the building I had to wait until after the tour to feed my kids lunch. We completed the tour and went to the visitors center restaurant. My child was fussy while we were waiting for our food and the supervisor sent a cashier over to tell me to 'go to a secluded area out of the restaurant near the restrooms while we wait for our food'. When I spoke with the supervisor it was as if he couldn't understand why I was upset and responded 'that it is policy to ask parents to walk away from the area until the child calms down or the food is ready' which I absolutely do not agree with personally. He did apologize towards the end but I really don't feel it was sincere it felt more of a I want to be done with this conversation apology. If it wasn't for the grill cook Mr. Williams for bringing my fussy kid 3 fries until our food was cooked (which helped completely calm my child down) and the cashier Ms. Tracey for helping me tray my food, gather the drinks, offered to help carry, cash me out, and then later gave both my children an apple, I would have never spent my hard earned money on this place nor sat down in this establishment and would have taken my complaint higher. I truly thank these two for their help and kindness it meant so much to me. They are the ONLY reason why I am giving this restaurant a two star. As far as the food my kids had the chicken tenders and fries. They ate it and were happy so I'm assuming it was good. Thank you for your time!

Jo Ellen Henriksen: Lots of food options that you would find an a typical cafeteria. However, at the far end there are some revolving options with one being "Our Nations Bounty" and Iowa was being featured. My son and I had the steak which was essentially roasted beef tenderloin and the roasted vegetables. Wasn't the cheapest option, but WOW it was delicious. Cut with your fork tender. Best food we had on our trip. My husband had a loose meat sandwich called a Maidrite in Iowa and he thought it was one of the best he has ever had and loved the roasted vegetables.

Grey Kov: For a place connected to the capital building, I thought the food would be good considering your surroundings. But I got food, and my burger was stale and fries were crunchy and cold. I also asked for a cheese burger which should be made, but an employee said there’s one right infront of you which was a bacon cheese burger. Very disappointed.

Peet's Coffee: what do users think?

Meg Smith: Very creative baristas and wonderful customer service. Even when short staffed they’re always very prompt and professional. They always have fresh pastries and a wide selection of sandwiches. I love that they greet me as soon as I walk in. Employees make sure the lobby is clean and I enjoy the ambiance.

hiroko takahashi (hiroko): I visited this cafe for the first time today. I am Japanese and my English is not good, but I was very happy to be served kindly by the smiling waitress. I ordered a cafe mocha and a cafe latte, both of which were delicious. Very friendly and nice place, will definitely visit again!

Jacob Karpinski: Love Peet's Coffee! The coffee in general is excellent, way better than Starbucks. Service was quick, exactly what I ordered. If you need to use the bathroom just ask an employee for the code, no problem with that. As of now because of DC and the rules they have masks are still required to enter. Pricing is comparable to the other chain coffee places, this location is awesome just kitty corner from The White House.

K Max: I've been to Washington, D.C. since yesterday and your coffee was very good. I like it more than a certain SB, which is famous. The inside of the store was also fashionable, and the clerk was also cute.
Response: K, we love to see this! Thank you for supporting our Washington coffee shop. Be sure to check out our signature cold brew and breakfast sandwiches on your next visit.

Abdul Hameed Al Ali: An average taste of coffee Nice staff …. Except the guy who makes the coffee …

Emilie K: Thankful this place was open on the weekends! It’s so sad that with the pandemic, so many places around the mall changed their hours and most aren’t open on the weekends. But Peet’s doesn’t disappoint. I used to go often when I had to go into work. But still enjoy stopping by when I’m in the area.

Chris Allamon: My daughter and I dropped in for a bubble tea, stood in front of a register and looked at the menu, there was no one else in line, the staff member walks to the other register and says ' xcuss me, down here' in quite a condescending tone. She could have easily said ' Over here please' or something like that, especially since we were 4 feet away. We should have left, but it was hot after a long day of walking. The tea was mediocre at best, but the service left a bad taste. I let my daughter know that if the staff is rude, you can always let them know nicely and leave.

Patrick Cincinnati: Cool little place. Need a restroom? Prepare to die. Lol!Great coffee, wish they had more choices for food and treats. Long line continuously for the bathroom. Overall good!

Zerah Kawami: Great place for coffee. The staff are lovely and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. The coffee was delicious as I tried one of their new hazelnut oat lattes.

Soho Tea & Coffee: what do users think?

Weekend Warrior: It was a good place to get work done. The outside area was quite noisy being near traffic, but the inside was fine. Only issue was that the servers forgot to bring my sandwich's to the table, or even call out that they were ready. If I didn't see them, we never would got them.

Hannah Sadollah: Mobile ordered to avoid the line and ended up waiting 20 minutes more than everyone else that arrived around the same time we did. Coffee come with the food so we just had to sit and wait for 30 minutes. The sandwich was $10 and it was average in taste. Coffee was good. If you come here only order a drink and do not mobile order.

George Ivanov: Tuna salad had mold growing on the tomatoes, all orders were delayed, and the wrong items were sent out multiple times. A line of disgruntled customers were talking to staff about their orders the entire time I was here. The staff at this coffee shop should be retrained and management replaced. You're better off going to any nearby Starbucks.

Lisa Smith: My favorite cafe in DC! I come here very often. The place has changed tremendously after the new owners took over. I love their pastries and teas. My favorite is the Green Pomegranate tea. They have happy hour as well. Wine and beer on a great price.
Response: Lisa, Thank you for sharing your feedback!

Debra Olson: Delicious coffee and tea, plus delicious pastries. Friendly staff and quite reasonable prices. Nice patio for eating outside or comfy chairs and tables inside. I suggest it for a relaxing weekend afternoon spot.
Response: Thank you Debra for your feedback. We will look forward to serve you again!!

Victoria Jones: Sooooo delicious!! Definitely top 5 best breakfast I've ever had!! It was my 1st time here. I had a Croissant with ham spinach egg & cheddar cheese!! Blueberry muffin & oj!! The service was great! The cashier guy was so cool & informative about the menu! He was short lol idk a name

Just a name: There are hundreds of coffee and tea recipes but there's only a few that are any good. This place has the latter. You can always judge a place by how they brew an Americano. Of they can mess up something so easy, they are not worthy of any money. This place nails it. Food is not bad.

Kiara Ivanova: Hands down, the best local coffee shop I've been in DC. Fresh and delicious pastries with a great variety of REAL loose tea and delicious food. My favorite spot from now on!
Response: Thank you for your feedback. We will look forward to serve you again!!

Michael Kellar: Comfortable cafe, nice service, awesome location. Come to DuPont, get a little off the normal path, and definitely worth a visit while you do something work or just wait for a meeting.
Response: Thank you for your feedback. We will look forward to serve you again!!

Jamie Gaitor: Liana was a fantastic server! We came in a little after her shift ended but she was happy to take care of us and converse with our group. The coffee was great, will be back whenever we visit DC again!

Blue Bottle Coffee: what do users think?

Vinay Kamisetty: Great place for a morning coffee after a jog or a bike ride. Outdoor seating with an amazing view and spacious indoor seating. Single roast coffee gives u that light caffeine punch and you can customize it with an oatmilk /almond milk. It offers pastries (never tried though). Last but not the least, courteous and cheerful staff makes this place enjoyable.

Emma Rose Wooten: A great place to do work or catch up with a friend over coffee. The vibes are more bright/clean/sleek as opposed to cozy and ambient, so depends on what you’re looking for. I got the matcha latte which was beautiful and very matcha-y but next time I’d add vanilla because it’s unsweetened. There’s plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. I sat outside in the sun with my latte and it was so nice!

Aramis Penland: Ugh it's hard not to like Blue Bottle Coffee. I'm tempted to give less than 5 stars because the prices, even by DC standards, are high ($6.50 for a 16oz iced coffee, $5.50 for a chocolate croissant). But despite that, I can't stop myself from coming back here again and again because the flavors are really on point, and the setting, right on the Georgetown canal with really great outdoor sitting options (both directly outside and across the canal), is perfect for reading, relaxing, or chatting on a nice day. On a cooler day, the indoor open concept setting is great as well. Being a sweet tooth, the New Orleans Style iced coffee is my go-to. Pastry wise, the Almond Tart, especially when warmed up, is divine.

Sophie Jylan: I love the vibes of this cafe. It’s slightly tucked away, with beautiful outdoor seating, a clean interior, and lots of open windows for COVID safety. The only drawback is that the coffee is pretty pricey but all of the food was delicious. (I tried the cascara fizz and buckwheat berry cake). It’s the perfect place to study in the afternoon, especially because it is open later than most cafes. The staff was very friendly too. Would recommend!

Jonathan French: Really clean and good coffee and drinks. Line was a little long, but that’s to be expected with a place like this. The drinks tasted good, with us getting a decaf mocha and a lemon fizz (can’t recall the exact name of the latter). There’s decent amount of seating but not enough for everyone. Our recommendation is to both stand in line and then one person snipe a seat of someone leaving. Easy to get to though, and was quite enjoyable.

Jeffrey Wotowiec: High quality coffee shop. Hidden on a dead-end alley in Georgetown. One of the few places that will give you sparkling water with your espresso shot…just remember to ask for it. My favorite croissant in town, if you can get there early before they sell out. Open airy indoor seating at communal tables & booths. A few public outdoor bistro tables too (but grab an extra napkin to clean one off). Zero parking, unless you illegally park in the dead-end alley. But don’t count on that during a crowded weekend. I gave 4.5 stars as the staff churns out coffee at a slower West Coast pace, which often leads to long wait times.

C. Pine: I used to wait in long long lines for this coffee joint in San Francisco. But this visit in Georgetown, I ordered an iced coffee ($6 small) and it tasted so acidic I couldn't even finish it.

Jereth Tolentino: Ordered a Matcha Latte and Cascara Fizz. For a quick bite I ordered a Almond tart. It was surprisingly good. The place has a nice vibe and good music playing. Plenty of places to sit down in and outside. I usually stop by here every time I go to Georgetown. I recommend this place if your in Georgetown.

MAJED ALBRAK: Steaming it's as it supposed to be for an speciality coffee, the tast of flat white is similar to hot chocolate, the place atmosphere and location is great, the employees are very welcoming.

Joseph Mathias: I’ve been to many Blue Bottle locations all over, and decided to stop by here on a recent visit to Georgetown. It’s kind of hidden, you wouldn’t know it was there unless you walk down to the canal way. Atmosphere and vibe was very chill. I ordered the New Orleans brew over ice and a banana bread. The New Orleans was DELICIOUS, definitely one of my faves off the menu. The banana bread was good too, not too sweet. Was it worth the price? No. The prices are super expensive, especially by DC standards (and the fact that there are a dozen other coffee shops and Starbucks around the area who sell the same thing but for much less). The male barista who served me was nice.

Crumbs & Whiskers | Kitten & Cat Cafe.: what do users think?

Mayra Rodriguez: this place is the safe haven of cats and they have so many different personalities. I’ve came here a couple times to destress and the staff is sweet, the place is nicely decorated , and you can really meet your next friend here. You can adopt, feed treats, and play with the cats. You can also snuggle up on the pads and pillows. For every experience you get fun little Polaroid which is just a good memory. Booking is easy and the Staff is really flexible. I recommend this place if you are looking to adopt, date night, or even just to test it out. You realize even dog people can be cat people too.

Claudia Luna: I love Crumbs & Whiskers! We’ve gone multiple times already and equally have a great experience each time. The staff is super friendly and tells you stories about each of the cats. The cats are super sweet and fun, plus you get to help support a company that is helping cats get adopted!

berkley pelletier: This was such a fun date! I enjoyed petting the cats, and the hosts were so kind and awesome. You could tell they really cared about the cats and the mission of the business. Would not recommend for dog-lovers.

Parker Kim: I loved the cat cafes in Korea and Japan when I visited, so I was so excited to visit Crumbs and Whiskers! I remember when they actually first opened, and it took a while, but I finally went! My partner and I got a 30 minute session booked, and honestly it flew by so fast! The host was very nice in explaining the rules about the cats and their moods (we went in the afternoon, so it was prime nap time). The host and other employees were so nice, and knew so much info about the cats. We wandered around asking about different cats and they happily told us about each one. I love that the collars had different symbols depending on if they needed a playmate, or were a bonded pair. This obviously isn't the cafe's fault, but our group had some younger guests, and I'm not sure how much they listened when the host informed us about the sassier cats. One of the cats clearly wanted to be left alone to sun bathe but a guest kept petting the cat. I'm sure the cat was fine (other than being mildly annoyed), but it'd just be something to keep in mind. They also gave polaroid photos of us along with stickers! We really enjoyed our experience, and may come back soon, as we are looking to adopt a cat (or two!) 😊

Sarah Pelletier: This is the happiest place on earth. Staff is wonderful. Cats are playful dreamy and furbulous. Disney cats! And they can be adopted thru a rescue group. These were playful sweet kitties and they even provided toys. Soft rugs and pillows complete the atmosphere, it's a great place to meet kitties. Feel the love. If you are sad or depressed go here, it will make anyone feel great! Thanks to you all, we loved it! Best recommendation: book 70 minutes as 30 wasn't enough we didn't want to leave this Disneyland of Kitties!

Jeffrey Blander: Our family can not say enough about this wonderful place. How can one go wrong (unless allergic) to spend some time surrounded by fur baby love. It is magical and heartwarming. Whether to enjoy a unique experience or give a forever home, a truly amazing experience, you will not forget…Note: To ensure a spot, you’ll need to book in advance. While a bit on the pricey side, all proceeds go towards operations to find forever homes for precious and beautiful fur babies.

Megan Dougherty: So much fun !! A friendly and well informed staff! They were so helpful in giving information about all the cats. The cats are obviously well taken care of and well loved. Their tshirts and sweatshirts are so cute ! Would be a good idea to have employees wear the merch so that costumers can see them. I almost didn’t notice the tshirts for sale but so glad I did, they are adorable!!

lil_Shon TTV: Came in for my daughter’s birthday. She absolutely loved this place. As soon as we entered we were greeted and instructed to go inside. Upon entry they gave us the rules and let us do our thing. The cats were so well mannered and we had a ball feeding them treats, and playing with their toys together. I will absolutely be back. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere was so calming. Thank you for the experience! You guys made my daughter’s birthday the best!

Gina Porcelli: The cats were cute and healthy. Clean which is good. I could tell the workers were passionate about the cats, they talked about them a lot. However, this place is not a cafe. If you order food or drink, they walk to a nearby bakery and bring it to you. Its priced similar to Starbucks but the drinks were essentially warm milk, not coffee. By the time you get it the coffee is barely warm and the food is cold. There is no table and chairs to sit and do school work or books to read like a regular cafe. If you do get food be prepared to eat on the floor. It’s decorated nice with soft carpets placed throughout the room.

Angel Smith: This was such a lovely experience. We got to meet the founder Kanchan and she was amazing. Just being able to open up, be vulnerable and transparent was really refreshing. They had water and cupcakes for us too! And of course it was great meeting all the kitties! Come by and meet the cats and even adopt one or two!
