The Rooftop at The Ven at Embassy Row: what do users think?

farida popal: I was there on Saturday the 25th. We wanted to go to the rooftop bar. As soon we were at main entrance, the door man greeted us and guide us. When we went to the bar the atmosphere was nice. The drinks were a bet pricey and bar food was great! I’ll defiantly go again.

chrisy edme: The stay was wonderful! The staff at the front desk are amazing ! Specially Lyle at the front desk, he was just a sweetheart to us. We booked our stay prior to them implementing the daily amenity fee. He waived it off of our stay and informed us that he will be more than happy to still provide the perks ! We received some sent sachet of jasmine and lavender which were amazing :) In addition to that he provided us with late check out because our flight was later in the afternoon. He also gave us some great tips of how to get around since it was our first time in DC. Also my room was provided with daily housekeeping and my housekeeper was just a sweetheart too but forgot her name unfortunately. My only Con was the bathroom size, as it was super small and there was no ventilation.

Kimberly “ ” Watson: Excellent! Love the space! The art exhibit in the hotel was wonderful!

Reuben Wauyo: This is a beautiful venue and would seem to be all great but terrible customer service. Called for a reservation and information on restaurant and was referred to main line. To which someone picked up after I waited on hold, heard me then hung up. This is the most disrespectful and frustrating thing I can think of when trying to get things set for events. Calling back no one picks up and I have now been calling main line for 30 minutes to be assisted and again no one to answers. You would have to be crazy to work with these guys on anything important for you will receive absolutely no clarification or answers on any questions you have. I was very surprised to even see positive reviews at all. I really hope it’s an isolated event, but if I can help anyone else not deal with my issue I’ll be glad to steer you away and onto another location. I will update with location and name after my reservation is set with our new venue. Also to be noted, not even the central main line can reach these guys and are unwilling to even try. I believe we’ve definitely dodged a bullet.

Walter Hunt: Friendly staff , great location, very accommodating

Bar Deco: what do users think?

Damon Okey: Great little dive in Chinatown with a rooftop bar. American style pub fare with a good cocktail menu and a few craft brews to chose from. Service was friendly, if a bit understaffed. Glad we stopped!

Anthony L. Forshier: I ordered the Gouda Short Rib Burger; it was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I don’t often write reviews of bars or restaurants; but knowledge of that short rib burger must be shared with the world. The short rib was delicious; but what made it exquisite was the added sweetness of the maple syrup coupled with the savory Gouda cheese. The crunchiness of the toasted bun ensured that each bite appealed to all five senses. I will be back.

Will Combs: We sat on the rooftop. Staff was fun and outstanding. Food was amazing as well. The pictured sandwich is only half of it. Portions are more than enough and fairly priced. Atmosphere and quality make this definitely worth a visit.

Shay Holihan: The whole place is 4 floors and I went when only two of the floors were open. The rooftop is very spacious and the 3rd floor bar is very long. They have great great happy hour specials. And I got the burrata salad with chicken and it was pretty good. Only reason I’m not giving it a 5 was because of the service. My bartender was really fast but not personable. I’ve been a bartender for over 5 years so it hurts to see none of the bartenders care about their guests. Also they add an automatic 20% grat on to every tab. Which I always pay more but it feels very odd to do it so high automatically.

M H: We were here for a Caps game and the larger female server was just angry the entire time. Thank goodness your other server in a black hoodie was there. She was awesome, polite, got us what we needed and even offered to go upstairs for a different beer we were looking for. Went on 5/7/2022 if you are a manager. She is the only reason we will come back. Please teach or help the other server. She was absolutely terrible. As a member of the armed forces and a past server myself, it was absolutely uncalled for and really upset the people around us and ourselves, food was awesome by the way!

Justin M: Self serve bar with first come first serve. Good drinks!

Whiskey Charlie: what do users think?

A Sabbagh: A very cool rooftop bar just overlooking the marina! The vibes were amazing, staff super friendly and prompt. We were a group of 7 and we just walked in (first come first serve). The views are amazing! They serve a quite good variety of drinks with not so much options of food as it’s not a restaurant, but we had flatbread pizza, marinated olives, ahi tuna salad and they were great. Recommended!

Corrin Fleming: Delicious mezcal cocktail and a lovely view! Friendly, skilled bartenders. A nice place to stop after the theater.

Katze Love: This is a fun rooftop bar with a beautiful view. The drink menu had a lot of variety and the food was good. Not a ton of food choices but that’s because it’s primarily a bar, not a restaurant. We got wings, flatbread pizza, marinated olives, and cheesecake. All very delicious! Cool spot to grab food and drinks after a day on a boat :)

Casey: Absolutely loved coming here! The drinks were fantastic and the bartenders were so kind and helpful. It is self seat and first come first serve, which I loved. Beautiful views of Virginia and the Potomac river. Definitely would come back here again ☺️

Sincere Johnson: The view from the rooftop is beautiful. Great vibe, good food, good drinks.

pooria riahi: This bar in my opinion has one of the top ten rooftops in DC. The view to the wharf waterfront and beyond is amazing. You can catch a nice sunset here. As far as the quality of food and cocktails go, this place serves you something good. The prices however are above average in DMV area.

The Rooftop at the Graham: what do users think?

Karen Elise: A wonderful little hidden gem! The atmosphere was great, the views were awesome, and the bread pudding was amazing! I also enjoyed the “Island Vacation” drink 🍹 great place!

Jeff Wilson: Super fun and a pleasure all around — Jeff Elstro (General Manager) and crew run a top notch place all around! White wine came with a bucket of ice (without asking)and was excellent (a decent selection). You need to have your phone— QR reader only for menu and drink/wine list. The view really is TERRIFIC! You get the Arlington (Clarendon) skyline AND Georgetown, DC —see pics! We arrived on a Friday at around 7:00pm and had to wait around 10 minutes to get in. The food plates were some of the best I have EVER sampled — they are really that good! We had the Takis - Asian style, and the fig and goat cheese small pizza. The meat was perfect and the pita dough for the pizza was fresh and not dry. Later on it got a little noisy, but it’s a bar, and it’s popular!!! A lot of fun!!!

Carl Poblete: Amazing venue nice small joint really just missing some music food and drinks are great. The bread pudding was delicious!

Miguel Curiel: Breathtaking view, fancy place and delicious drinks. Food menu is limited— but what is available is delicious and the place does serve well its main purpose as a lounge bar.

Paul Thurrott: Fantastic rooftop bar with great staff, excellent cocktails, and killer views.

Ieshia E. Butler: Heard about the rooftop around town and wanted to visit. Had an amazing time with my husband. The service was stellar and so was the food.

Chris Marras: 2 words. Doki and Max. These two were awesome and whenever we are visiting Georgetown we will be back to get some amazing service from these two 👍 drinks were also fantastic

lissette Alvarez: From the minute you enter this little boutique hotel you are greeted with a smile, friendly reps at the front desk. Awesome!! Then you go to the roof top and it’s even better! The place is Beautiful , friendly service, the drinks, the view not so much of anything to look at but the sunset 🌅 is there so it’s gets 5 stars ⭐️ For that. I’m going to assume it was the manager or the owner but what a friendly guy. The atmosphere, the service was awesome definitely a place to go when you are in DC. Loved it!!!

The Mirror: what do users think?

Melissa Escudero: This place has the best vibes! Absolutely love the drinks every time we come. The seating is very comfortable and the lighting set a great tone. The bartenders are super nice. We came right after getting engaged and they even gave us all free shots. Cant complain at all!

JDV22: Drinks were pretty poorly mixed. If you’re looking for a neat place with loud music to just kind of vibe, it’s perfect. If you’re looking for well made cocktails, I’d recommend going somewhere else.

Richa Bhatt: This place was really cool in terms of finding it and the atmosphere but other then that it was meh. The whole bar was super dark and it was hard to see anything. The drinks were incredibly mediocre and so was everything else like the bathroom- the bathroom I used had no lock so I had to hold the bathroom stall door while using it. So yeah, besides going to a place that’s behind a mirror, there’s no other pull. It’s a very mediocre place and it is priced like it’s something nicer which is stupid. I would only come back if I had to like I wouldn’t make plans out of my way to go here.

Parker Kelley: We went here after a DMV friends event on a Friday night ! It was very packed & due to the space being very small it was hard to move around. The bartenders were busy & took forever to get a drink. The idea behind the bar is neat and interesting but wasn’t worth my time!

Zach Yoder: If you’re looking for a speak easy that fits the traditional role of one, this one barely fits the bill. The only thing that this place has similar to other speak easy’s is that it has a hidden entrance. The music is way too loud and the lights are way too dim. This is essentially a club with a fancy entrance.

Players Club: what do users think?

Its Me Jessica: This place was so fun. Definitely old school pinball machines, pool tables, board games you name it they had it! Great time I will be back!

Ellie Somers: Don’t recommend. Staff is rude and condescending. Drinks are eh at best. The only thing they have going for them is the rooftop and that’s only worth it if the weather is nice. Wouldn’t go out of my way for this place when there are MUCH better bars in the area. And if you’re going for the games, there are better places for that too. Definitely would skip this one.

Tim Jenks: Come for a bar or billiards, not for the arcade. Bar service was typical, no complaints there, and they have 3 billiards tables with ample room around them. The arcade portion was very underwhelming though. Very few machines, the pinball one I chose needed maintenance because the ball got stuck multiple times, and the machines are a confusing mix of accepting bills or quarters.

Tom: Charging full dollar for pinball that doesn’t work. Lock bar on black knight is off, shield doesn’t work, GNR has zero ball save, and Iron Maiden doesn’t even have working coin slots. Dollar pinball is fine if it’s in working condition. Until then, Stay away. Stay far away.

ciara d: Fun place to drink and play games with your friends. Cool date on calmer nights . They used to have a window to order shake shack through but I’m not sure if that is still available.

Official Godiva: I really love the nice 70s vibe here. The drinks are nice but it would be great if they had a wider selection of cocktails. I would definitely visit again.

Addy Adds: Racially targeted. I was the target of racial discrimination by several black males who worked when I visited on March 4, 2022. I was followed by one INTO the restroom as he watched me urinate. They claimed I was "too drunk" to be there before FOUR of them escorted me out. A bar with 200 people drinking and after two drinks I was "too drunk". Terrible, racist establishment.

Luviee Lenore': Great View, Service and Food. What more could you ask for. This place is a vibe. If you are looking for something quick and your in the mood for tacos. I recommend this place!

Meg Gargulinski: I’ve been here a few times and have loved it every time! I held a birthday party here. You can reserve half the rooftop for free! It was such a great experience. We loved the drinks and service. It’s usually very empty - not a lot of people there. So if you have a big group, it’s awesome because you can pretty much have the place to yourself! It also has great views of the Monument. I’ve heard the margs are really good too.

Nicolas Durand: Great rooftop, great server, ok mixed drinks

Michael Siemann: Pretty good spot. The rooftop was amazing at sunset. The fish and cauliflower tacos were solid and had a kick, but probably not worth $5. They had a really cool dining set up where we were easily able to bring a bunch of tables together for our group of 12. I will be coming back!

Steven Russo: Really awesome bar! Spent hours on the rooftop of this place. The decor is quite fun. Really enjoyed the fish tacos and the deal that comes with two beers, chips, guac, and salsa! Really personable bartenders. Worth a visit especially on a nice day.

Christopher Yuen: I was in town for a business meeting and I took a few friends out to this bar on a whim and we had a blast! The bartenders were friendly and the drinks were unique and delicious! I had so much fun I ended up leaving my blazer at the bar. I called the manager Graham a few days later and he mailed it back to me all the way to Connecticut. He’s awesome and this place is too!!!!!

Annie: Cool bar with a chill vibe. Came here on a Monday night at 630 and there were only 2 other groups. Not the typical DC bar. There are a few tables and the bar to sit at. The cucumber mule was really good!

Corey Nolan: Always have a great time in this nostalgic Bar. Brian "Bar Man" has done an outstanding job building his dream. Staff is super friendly and they have stepped up their cocktail game since I last visited. Glad I was able to ring in 2022 in such good company! Thanks C&C team! Stay safe!

Adriana Cortés-Buelvas: I absolutely love the Crown and Crow. Great cocktails and a huge offer on drinks. Great indie rock music, feels like an Irish experience.Graham is the nicest!

barmini by José Andrés: what do users think?

Natalie Caldwell: We were in DC for the weekend, looking for a place to get drinks before our later dinner reservation. There is a reason barmini has the reputation it does, and our experience was more than we could have hoped for. The attention to detail was both expected and impressive - the care and perfection that went into each crafted concoction was amazing. We described to our waiter what our flavor profiles were and he made us both personalized (and perfect) cocktails. We topped off our before dinner drinks with the brioche. *Chefs kiss* and that butter…I’d eat a whole loaf. Can’t wait for the chance to come back.

Kennith “Conley” Coleman: We were able to enjoy the cocktail flight. The experience was amazing and all the cocktails were so delicious. The service was excellent. We also tried the grilled cheese appetizer and it was beyond good.

Triloka Shanbhag: For those of you wondering if the long waitlist and tough-to-get-in reservation system renders this place worth going to or not, I’m here to tell you it is utterly and absolutely worth the wait. The experience of being at Barmini and having their cocktail flight is unparalleled. From the sophisticated palette displayed in the variety of cocktails to the servers that pay you copious amount of attention, every little detail is planes to the tee. At times you may feel you are transported to be amidst a lab experiment but the drinks made at your table using liquid Nitrogen are delicious and a spectacle to watch. We also tried the brioche bun, it absolutely melts in your mouth. Having been to a few other Jose Andrés restaurants in the DC area and always being pleasantly surprised with my experiences, this certainly keeps the streak going. Can’t wait to try Minibar by Jose Andres too.

Mukesh Bhakta: Just Wonderful. Vegetarian food paired with drink for me and a la crate for my wife. The dishes can be substituted with non vegetarian. We had 6 small plates and were full by the end of 2 hours. Each item was superb and we did add Australian Truffels to 4 dishes which elevated them substantially. It is definitely worth it for the experience. It is expensive but we enjoy these throes of restaurants very much. Staff was precise and excellent. Cocktails were unique and superb.

DeJuae: Food presentation was some of the best I’ve seen here in DC. It has 2 Michelin Stars. The intimate setting and couches make for a nice date night!

James King: Amazing food. Fantastic service. Highly recommended.Presentation is very elegant. Decor is intimate. Call ahead.

The Pub & The People: what do users think?

Ethan Z: Great Restaurant!! This Restaurant is in the city area and offers indoor and outside seating!! The menu is rather small but the food and drinks were great!! The wait staff were friendly and professional!! The restaurant was also clean and well presented. The bathrooms are coolly decorated too with people sending pictures in of there family pets in to be featured on the wall. Overall great!

Becky Gomez: Such a great spot for a lonely, taveling vegetarian! 😂 Bar service was superb and a delightful vibe. Great beer selection. Perfect shishitos 🌶️ and tempura cauliflower!

AJ Hendricks: Pub and the People is our favorite outdoor spot in Bloomingdale. The beers they have on tap are great, and the food (specifically, the Black Bean burger and "The Heidi" Fried Chicken sandwich) is very solid. The tempura cauliflower sauce is also amazing. Matt, the manager, is very friendly and just a welcoming face to see when you come in. This radiates through the whole staff. The happy hour specials are awesome, and run for most of the day on the weekends. Enjoy!

Parker Kelley: Very great experience here ! We’ve passed this place numerous times and I’ve always said I wanted to try it. So, we finally did ! I ordered the Heidi chicken sandwich which was very tasteful. It came with a side of fries which were also very good. The service was great - 3 or 4 people continuously came to check on us. I’d definitely eat here again.

Bobbi DeAnda: Such a great brunch spot! The outdoor patio is pup friendly (and the bathroom inside is a must see for dog lovers haha). The biscuits and gravy with fried chicken was TO DIE FOR. So yummy! Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Callum Wayman: A great local pub for people in Eckington and Bloomingdale. The pub offers a great selection of beers, wine, and cocktails as well as an excellent food menu (try the tempura cauliflower, chicken sandwich, and the fries). In the winter they offer group seating around large fire pits for small gatherings. I found that to be a huge boon when trying to gather friends outdoors while being mindful of COVID during the winter. The staff are nice and helpful.

Amy Burdon: Had dinner and played trivia - food menu was fairly short but with lots of tasty items - I enjoyed the curry wings and gazpacho. Staff were friendly, happy hour drinks were a good deal. All positives!

Daniel Albert: Not sure what happened to this place. The drinks we got were fine, but the food was pretty subpar. Got the Cuban sandwich and the fries that came with it were way too peppered and salty. The food used to be great here. The vibe is still good - cozy and perfect for winter time.

The Next Whisky Bar: what do users think?

carlos lopez: Overpriced and with close to 30 people still sitting around and drinking, they decided to close early because the manager had left for the evening.Makes no sense, they could have probably sold a good amount of drinks, specially because a wedding had just ended and a large group came up to hang out.

Gal Mesika: They charged $300 dollars to rent an outdoor igloo. They don’t offer any other outdoor seating so this is predatory in my opinion if you don’t feel comfortable sitting inside. I’d highly recommend you go somewhere else. Charging to sit outside is the most absurd thing I’ve seen. Especially when your igloos aren’t even being used.

Viviana Shanks: Waited 15min for a waiter, even though there was two bar attenders. We ended having to order our drinks at the bar. The Sri is ended up extra sweet. Up until the end of our night cap, we have seen the bar attenders chatting and no one caring about us or anyone else for that matter. Not great for a lobby bar, but great looking bar

Johnny Dollar: We came in to see the safe that gets you a rare bottle of whisky if you succeed in unlocking it. And stayed getting guided by Ben true their incredible whisky selection. Trieng a Black Manhatten before a show at the KC and enjoy the chat with him over our drinks. Highly recommended this very stylish bar for a good whisky or even a ultra expensive one, a classic drink or one of their own creation.

Matt R: Quite pricey as you’d expect given the location. Good drinks and service. Nice surroundings. A good choice for pre-show drinks.

Dmitry Finkler: At 11:30pm on a Saturday night (when listed as open til 12am), this lame, overpriced bar told us that they can’t sell us another drink cause they’re closed. Disappointed!

Kimberly Young: Very nice. Good selection of bourbon.

Bek Ergashev: The Watergate Hotel and the Next Bar used to be one of our favorite places in DC. We have a tradition of having several staycations there every year and decided to do it again this year, even though the pandemic is still quite present. We wanted to support the hotel and bar that we love so much. This turned to regret as soon as we checked in and decided to go the bar. First glance at the menu, it was clear that looked their main goal was to price gouge and exploit their clientele. Cocktails that were $15 a year ago were now $25-35. A glass of wine was $25. And a bottle of Jameson that you can buy from a liquor store for $20 was - I kid you not - $325. Oh and not to mention the fact that they require you to pay $27+ for an appetizer before you can order drinks. A $25 appetizer that would cost $7-12 elsewhere. We promptly stood up and left. Not because we could not afford the menu, but because they are clearly exploiting their loyal customers who choose to give them business during a pandemic. We understand the hotel and bar are in the high-end but come on, exploiting your most loyal customers to this degree during a pandemic is just as low as you can get. We are completely turned off from this experience and won’t be giving the bar, nor the hotel, our business in the future.

Doyle: what do users think?

Justin Leach: The servers were very friendly but 4-5 different people visited my table through the night, I wasn’t sure who my server was and who was just there to refill waters because everyone seemed to be switching roles. Even the host refilled my wine. They weren’t even too busy. I never got my salad, which in my situation was fine because I wasn’t too hungry anyway and really just wanted a couple drinks but normally would not be okay, and when I asked for the desert menu it took 20 minutes because they apparently only had one copy and all the tables were sharing it. Again, very friendly but confusing service. Can’t speak to the food because I never ended up getting mine.

Alyssa Miller: I usually love the Doyle however - after over a month of not setting foot in the establishment I was charged over $85.00. Let me be clear - I have not lost my card, it has been in my possession the entire time. It has been impossible to get this resolved and incredibly disappointing in that the likely cause of this was a staff member running my card information and pocketing the money. My goal has been reversed and that has been not only incredibly difficult to do - I have been promised call backs from the manager that have never materialized. At this point I don’t see myself ever going back to what was one of my favorite places to enjoy a drink and wonderful atmosphere and I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone because they might be stolen from.

Lina G: The best spot to kill your vibes. I felt disrespected. My taste buds felt disrespected. The three days old burger buns were offensive to my very culinary enthusiastic existence. The pickle wouldn’t take in the knife or teeth. The cocktail tastes like slushy. The bartender attends to customers not in the order of first come first serve, but in the order of shades - of course white to black. The manager looks like he hit the loto making management in the midst of lack of labor in covid era. If you came in ravenous, you’ll leave mortified or else you’ve simply lost your taste. What a shame it’s in the heart of DC. Sat June 25th, 2022. 11pm

M Whittaker: Fun office happy hour in a perfectly air-conditioned environment! Tasty drinks and snacks for all co-workers!!

Lost Society: what do users think?

Christina Arthur: I liked dining here for HH. The jerk chicken tacos and mojitos were good. The waiters are very attentive. While the menu is limited I think it creates better quality small bites. I really liked the buttermilk chicken sandwich, truffle fries and the Ceasar brussel sprouts.

Erika Walker: The food was outstanding! I had truffle fries, brussel sprouts, and the salmon with risotto and I enjoyed every bite! Everything is ordered and paid for through an app that charges a service fee and a fee to use the app you are required to use🤔. The amount of tip on top of those fees are optional. Drink options were limited meaning they had very few mixers so cocktails were pretty basic. The atmosphere is definitely for a young crowd. I would go again just for the food!

V. Josey Riggins: Vibe was good & chill, 21-& up but it was more of a 27&up crowd. I went for Sunday brunch, make sure you reserve a table because when you make a reservation online it’s just for entry. At 5pm they start switching out the table and the DJ comes. However the shrimp tacos are bomb af! The hash browns are good. There is no “technical” server. Everything is done through a QR code. So basically when you place your own order then a server will come over but just to make sure your okay. It was tricky because you will have to find someone if you have menu questions for food allergies and such. There are unlimited mimosas, however it is wayyy wayy too much juice, but I did like the fact a waitress came around with the champagne bottle. However I didn’t leave tipsy off lots of mimosas .. so they are weak LOL upstairs rooftop is a vibe, bathrooms clean and I like that they have multiple restrooms. Ok my review is finished ! Enjoy !

Angella Daluz: That’s society is a vibe, depending on what promoter is there that night. Rooftop can get really hot in the summers so make sure your edges are laid !

Gboss1232 love: The bouncer seemed to have lots of friends tonight. My sister and I waited for what was like 45 min. and when we reach the FRONT he turned his back to us and let about 5 others in in front of us. Also! $20 entry fee. African music upstairs.

S. Valencia Tyrell: Out for lunch on busy Saturday. Prices high, good environment for Z Generation. Drinks watered dwn. Good looking staff/plasant people. Best to reserve a table then just walk in. Would recommend if passing by. Probably would go back if I was passing thru DC again.S.

Rashida Thompson: If looking for good music, outdoor partying and 25 and older crowd this is the place for you. The shots were $20.

Replay at Pose Rooftop Lounge: what do users think?

Kixxar: This place has a neat theme and seems popular, but not too crowded. Seating is limited. The milkshakes are GREAT and the sig cocktails are fun. It was a nice stop during date night. The main disappointment is the arcade - each costs a dollar to play and there is no change machine. If you want to encourage people to hang out, drink, and play in an 80s themed bar, then maybe make the games a quarter, have a change machine. More seating too.

Soyini Richards: Beautiful venue with gorgeous views of the Potomac River! The manager Jarell & his team were professional and attentive to our every need. I will have event there again 😉.

Shante S: I enjoyed my adult milkshake while listening to 80’s music. Walked in listening to Run DMC. Watching the waterfront.

Shadana Moses: They have no info so I went based on the posted hours they have online and apparently it’s closed on Sunday based on the occupancy

600t: what do users think?

Mysiki X Valentine: First let me start with the best part—the restroom. It’s very clean and cute. If the bathroom isn’t clean, you cannot expect the bar, or glasses to be clean. The drink selection is small but tasty. There are 9 drinks for all types of folks. I did not see a wine of beer list but there maybe one. On the night we visited, there was a live jazz band. It was nice to have live music but it was entirely too loud for a speakeasy. In addition, the center tables (circles) are a bit small with the decorative candle on the middle. Overall this is a nice bar to go to on U street. Do not forget to make a reservation..oh and they charged us $10.00 for just showing up (Repeal Day) this was unclear and not friendly.

Kevin George: Classic coctails and very unique cocktails of there own, this basement bar has amazing atmosphere and great employees. The cocktails are worth the wait as the bartenders cut all the ingredients fresh.

Ricardo M Gonzalez: Super cozy cocktail bar. Great service, even better drinks. Its great to visit in small groups and have fun. Great location and close tho other places in case you need food after.

Meenu Singh: The coziest semi-hidden bar with a beautiful attention to detail, from the fresh herbs and flowers in the cocktails to the wood paneling to the roaring fireplace. The drinks were delicious and special. The whole service team was so kind, and my table of three felt so cared for. Thanks for making an evening with friends feel magical!

Rachel U: First time here and loved it! Very unique, tasty cocktails, excellent service. We had a reservation for Friday night, there is a two hour window for seating.

Natalie Pirrone: Hands down my favorite bar in DC. Patio is super awesome, staff is really friendly. Cocktails have so much flavor. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Henrry Palacios: I believe this is our third or fourth time coming here. All the cocktails we’ve had have been great and it’s one of our all time favorite cocktail bars. The service is always great, the vibe is always very calm and comfortable, and the drinks always impress. If you make a trip to DC, you’ll have to make this place a priority and be sure to make reservations beforehand!

Mathew Crichton: A wonderful little speakeasy tucked away on U Street. They have some amazing old fashioneds and shaken cocktails! The sweet potato donuts are also freaking fantastic!

Blake Arrington: Very good drinks and even better customer service. Even is you dont like a drink they will switch it out for you Definitely the best old fashioned I ever had and the martini was very good with an extra drink Also if you want something sweet the sweet potato donuts are very good

Never Looked Better: what do users think?

J. W.: I was referred to this place and honestly I have no regrets about going. This cocktail bar has a very exclusive, underground, chic appeal. The bartenders are amazing, the drinks are visually pleasing and strong in all the right ways without it taking from the flavor and the staff is actually friendly. This made birthday a very memorable experience. Thank you Jay Moss for the drinks and Crystal for the conversation loved the vibe.

Arielle H: OMG Foodies, I had my first speakeasy experience this weekend and let me tell you how freakin AMAZING it was ✨🥂 I set my sights on @neverlookedbetterdc, a cocktail bar located in NW DC 📍. Though they don’t offer food, the drinks are made just right, the atmosphere is ‼️, & there’s plenty of diners and restaurants within walking distance (because who doesn’t get the munchies after drowning in cocktails 😅🙈🍽). Staff: 10/10 Drinks: 10/10 - worth every penny ! & the spicy margarita 🏽🌶❤️ Bathroom: I was too busy drinking, forgive me 😅

Logan Gore: What a cool speak easy! Fun to enter in through an alley, then leave a completely different way! The vibe inside is awesome! Staff and bartenders are nice, music was poppin, seats and standing room available. Cocktails and mocktails were good!

Steven Munnelly: Solid speakeasy feel while being accessible by the public. Stopped in for happy hour. Sure, drinks are pricey but it’s a fun and different experience. The bartender there is a great guy, knowledgeable about his liquors, and interesting to chat with when it’s not super busy. Overall pretty pleased with this place—would have expected slightly higher tier for the prices but still cool given the ambiance.

S. Locke: Child! I didn’t even know this gem existed. I got there around 12:30 AM on a Friday night. Apparently I missed a line—gladly. Because I got there so late in the night, if you aren’t watchful you will miss the address on the door in the alleyway and pass by the door. It’s in the middle of all the doors in the alley. The bartenders were awesome. Also, if you are looking for a boo, he, she, they may be there. Everyone was fine as hell in that place! Lol!

Vaaruni Eashwar: Took a minute to find the door, as it should with any good speakeasy! Loved the vibe, good music (though it got a bit loud at some point), great cocktails - the spicy margarita was 👌And Kit at the bar was awesome - fun personality, very engaging while they made our drinks! Definitely coming back!

Parker Kelley: Super cool & interesting place! The entrance was a little sketchy.. no signage and through a weird alley but the inside was very welcoming & the aesthetic was worth it! The drinks are a little on the expensive side but the service was great! The music is decent & plenty of space. All tables were revered when we went so if you have group of 3 or more I would check into reserving a table.

Ciara McAllister: Never looked better is such a vibe. The decor is aesthetically pleasing and the bar tenders are so sweet. Will definitely be coming back!

Daniel Williams: The sweetest smelling bar staff West of the Anacostia River.

Kate Jowaisas: Free popcorn and koozie! Small place but good vibe.

Matthew Pollock: Friendly staff, fast service

Stephen Rozier: Very relaxed atmosphere. Bartender recognizes you, friendly service; many patrons stick to their own groups. Just a very calming space. Will be back!

Connor Garvey: Very cool spot on 14th st. They have great happy hour drink deals and good vibes. No food besides some free popcorn but they let you bring outside food in which is very nice.

kevin van der welle: Really cool place to have a beer on the not-so-busy times. Great selection of beers btw! The free popcorn is a nice bonus and it makes the place smell real good

T Connolly: Chill. Good vibes.

Joey Asker: Great atmosphere, great bartenders, good events!

Mikaela Wynne: Great atmosphere and great drinks. Will be frequenting

Public Bar Live: what do users think?

Alexandra Spataro: This place is so fun and lots of different beverages to pick from! Going during the day Saturday was a good choice! It seemed like a couple events were going on where people were celebrating something and getting bottle service so that made the place have even more energy (bubbles, signs every couple of minutes, DJ, beach ball thrown, etc). Only con is that the rooftop deck is not stiletto friendly, ladies you WILL get your heel stuck between the planks; you have been warned. Cheers!

Aziza Nabila: Love this bar! We had so much fun on the rooftop on Saturday. It’s definitely a vibe and one of the BEST HOT SPOTS in the city. The staff was so friendly and service was great! Get a VIP table so you don’t have to wait in line. The bottle girls are the best and know how to party. Tables sell out super quick so reserve them early or they’ll put you on their waiting list.

JW: Empty dance floor inside and bouncer at the door was rude - required individual masks for each party despite NO ONE having masks on inside. Place had an empty dance floor on Saturday night (10-11 pm). We went to Mayflower instead and had a much better time. Get some new bouncers if you want to have any business.

Diana Bermudez: Good place for games but gets super, super packed. Try to reserve a table if you can.

nohemi garcia: Been there on Sunday , mix music.🎶 not a big place. But you can Dance and have fun. Prices on drinks are fair enough. 🍸 bartenders working hard there and provide great service.

Lisa M: Got completely scammed by this place and our whole friend group got robbed while inside the club. We got a VIP table and it was not worth it at all. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Music was mediocre and there were way too many people to do anything but stand still. There are much better places to go in dc. This was our first time going and it will definitely be the last. We ordered some bottles then immediately got kicked out and they let tons of random people in our sections. This place SUCKSSSSSSS.

Omar Hamad: This is a fraudulent establishment. To say they have a lack of internal coordination and customer service would be generous. They need an organizational facelift with new and somewhat competent management who can at least give the appearance of relatively caring about their customers. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

Juan Varela: Music and vibes are incredible. One of the best spots to party in DC. Lee and Mariah are two of the best I’ve met in the hospitality industry in any city! Wish there were more places like this in DC and more people at bars and clubs like Lee and Mariah!!

Crimson DC: what do users think?

Tahoma Lewis: Love the casual atmosphere! Our server was polite and attentive. The food was good. The pickled deviled eggs were esthetically pleasing and delicious. I had never had them before, and was not disappointed.

Arielle H: I have only had experience on the rooftop. We actually stumbled upon it one day. We walked in looking to just sit at the bar and one of the employees said why don’t you check out the rooftop and we said heck yeah! The views are great, the service is fairly fast, and the drinks were even better. - Will definitely be returning in the midst of summer.

Jenna DeFosse: Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience here. The service was extremely slow. Had to wait one hour for food! I have never had such a poor experience at a restaurant, this was very unfortunate. We just sat waiting and waiting for food…It was incredibly hard to flag someone down so after waiting one hour went up to someone and asked how much longer for the food. We deduced that the order was never put in originally because the food then arrived 20 mins later. Other patrons seemed to be having similar experiences. Food not coming, other customers left because food was taking so long. They seemed short staffed but the service was not good. It was expensive for these sub-par burgers. I’ve heard the rooftop bar is nice, so I’ll hold out for that.

S. K. Hill: Finally, I was able to visit Crimson and I loved it. From the awe-inspiring rooftop view of downtown DC to the very cool Whiskey Bar on the lower level, Crimson hit the ball out of the park. I loved their old-bay wings, kettle chips and ciders (apple and pineapple). It is in a great location in Chinatown. I will definitely come back here again and again. Easily FIVE STARS.

BA R: Chinatown in D.C. Lucky for us the only place opened after 9 P.M on a Tuesday night. Great ambience. Good food. And they have a Whiskey Bar downstairs w/ live music. 10/10 we’ll be back.

Matthew Copper: When other dining establishments in the neighborhood had at least an hour wait, we stumbled upon Crimson. The seated us quickly and the service and food was wonderful! Will definitely be returning!!

Jack Kelly: A very busy venue with an exceptionally odd policy of confiscating water bottles of patrons in case they contained alcohol. I have been to countless bars, clubs, restaurants, taprooms and so on and have never ever encountered such a bizarre policy. We were a small group (4 adults) joining a small group (4-5 adults again) plus an infant which made the confiscation even more bizarre. The elevators are more protected than Fort Knox. The top floor was closed for a private event, but the host accidentally pressed the top floor button. She asked us to step out of the elevator (reminder, with infant so it was more of a nuisance than just adults) so the elevator could run up to the exclusive top floor party empty (because we weren’t even allowed near it let alone ride the elevator directly up and directly down). When it returned the host had to swipe her card and press the correct button to send it down to the basement. Again, countless bars, restaurants, venues and heck even corporate offices and have never experience something like that. Two truly bizarre incidents that soured an otherwise pleasant venue which leaves me with no desire to return and no reason to recommend to others. The food is good but the service messy and slow.

Lavada Walker: Well well well, how I just stumbled upon Brunch on The View. I was very undecided between Shrimp and Grits or the Brioche French Toast. I decided to go with the Shrimp and Grits, Wow!!!! It was sooooo darn good. If you want some good eats and drinks with a beautiful view hit up Crimson Saturday and Sunday 12pm-3pm

Dhruv Jaiswal: Great whiskey bar in the heart of DC ! A must try if you love whiskeys, they have all kinds of collections from all sorts for regions in the country and world ! The food is great as well ! Do try out the place and the rooftop in the great weather
