The Rooftop DC: what do users think?

MEVR3E: Pricey but you get what you pay for. I like the ambiance— would recommend this spot to catch up w friends or couples. I felt comfortable spending a few hours here, and enjoyed the personalities and service of the bartenders. I will be back again to make use of the happy hour specials.

Epic Work: Nice setup and ambience aesthetic wise but bartender service is trash with non friendly attitudes. Therefore management of it is trash for allowing it. They walk back and forth ignoring you as if they have better things to do even with only 2 people there. Not ever again

Lindsay Peters: The view and atmosphere was great for an early spring day! There is limited seating at the rooftop edge. The prices are slightly higher though happy hour cocktails are 50% off (4-7pm). I had the pork tacos and they were super delicious. There is an automatic 20% gratuity applied.

Zahra Amiji: Literally the worst rooftop experience of my life. Went during the so called "happy hour" where drinks are supposed to be 50% off and was charged full price for multiple drinks ($18+). Also, had to wait 45 minutes to be served at the bar. Would not recommend this rooftop at all. Try a different place for a better DC experience.

Daniel X. Bandong: Great vibe! Staff was very attentive and a great menu. Had a great work Happy Hour with a fantastic space. However, no beers on draught; hopefully that changes soon!

3z M: Lovely bar , nice service, thanks guys

Rosewood Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

C. Pine: Best hotel in Georgetown. I love the charm of this hotel right in the heart of everything. The friendliest staff and impeccable service and luxurious accommodations while steps away from shopping and more dining options. The library/reception area is a cozy and elegant pace for a nightcap or to lounge. The rooftop offers a fantastic view of the cityscape and is a great for private functions or if you need a peaceful place to hang out.

Mandy Jacqueline: The Lobby Bar in the Rosewood was amazing. Great service and wonderful drinks if you’re looking for high-class

Shana Acquisto (Luxury Realtor): Stopped in for a drink on the rooftop. Beautiful atmosphere. Drinks were pricey and honestly a bit too much sugar for our liking but some may prefer that. Very friendly staff once we got up to the rooftop and great service.

Tania Ferguson: The Rosewood DC is remarkably disappointing. More expensive than comparable rooms at the Ritz or Four Seasons, there are essentially no luxury amenities. The pool is the size of two hot tubs. Sadly, Cut the restaurant had a kitchen fire and therefore there is no way to get anything to eat at the hotel. I had to go grocery shopping. They did not offer any discount for this inconvenience. The did make the minibar complementary except for liquor….and there is essentially nothing to eat in the minibar. The room is incredibly small and the bathroom hard to manage in its size. The “partial canal view” is just a brick wall. One must stand to look out the window if water is to be seen-and only then with great focus. More accurately this is a brick wall view. There is no spa, the fitness facility is smaller than a bathroom with no modern equipment in it except a single peleton bike with bad pedals. The fitness facility is a really big disappointment-I’ve had to find a gym to go work out at. So I’ve had to leave the premises for food, workout, spa services….It’s a travesty to the Rosewood brand. They should close the hotel and renovate, modernize-or drop the prices to reflect the current facade.

Mohsen: Enjoyed one week of stay at this hotel. Everything was perfect and felt personal. Fantastic staff.

Kelly Smith: Great hotel. Near everything in Georgetown. Service is amazing. Nicest place in the area.

Andrew Carmichael: Amazing hotel experience in a wonderful part of DC. It’s a smaller hotel that does a stellar job of balancing the finesse of a larger hotel with the intimacy of a boutique one. The team remembers everyone’s name and does to whatever they can to make your stay a memorable one.

Lisa Morin: This lovely, small hotel was well located in Georgetown. The room was nice, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The service from all staff was exceptional. They attended to every detail to make our stay a great one!

Addison Muska: Spacious room with good lighting. Pleasant stay with friendly staff and quality amenities. Location is close to all major sights and places. Would stay again

Players Club: what do users think?

Its Me Jessica: This place was so fun. Definitely old school pinball machines, pool tables, board games you name it they had it! Great time I will be back!

Ellie Somers: Don’t recommend. Staff is rude and condescending. Drinks are eh at best. The only thing they have going for them is the rooftop and that’s only worth it if the weather is nice. Wouldn’t go out of my way for this place when there are MUCH better bars in the area. And if you’re going for the games, there are better places for that too. Definitely would skip this one.

Tim Jenks: Come for a bar or billiards, not for the arcade. Bar service was typical, no complaints there, and they have 3 billiards tables with ample room around them. The arcade portion was very underwhelming though. Very few machines, the pinball one I chose needed maintenance because the ball got stuck multiple times, and the machines are a confusing mix of accepting bills or quarters.

Tom: Charging full dollar for pinball that doesn’t work. Lock bar on black knight is off, shield doesn’t work, GNR has zero ball save, and Iron Maiden doesn’t even have working coin slots. Dollar pinball is fine if it’s in working condition. Until then, Stay away. Stay far away.

ciara d: Fun place to drink and play games with your friends. Cool date on calmer nights . They used to have a window to order shake shack through but I’m not sure if that is still available.

Official Godiva: I really love the nice 70s vibe here. The drinks are nice but it would be great if they had a wider selection of cocktails. I would definitely visit again.

Addy Adds: Racially targeted. I was the target of racial discrimination by several black males who worked when I visited on March 4, 2022. I was followed by one INTO the restroom as he watched me urinate. They claimed I was "too drunk" to be there before FOUR of them escorted me out. A bar with 200 people drinking and after two drinks I was "too drunk". Terrible, racist establishment.

Sauf Haus Bier Hall: what do users think?

Jessica Dalzell: The pretzel and beer were delicious and all I really went for… but definitely a very clubby vibe for a “beer garden”… deafening EDM started by 2:00p.. but who needs to talk when your mouth is busy eating and drinking?

Aly Whitaker: All the signs, inside and outside (why we came in) say that it’s happy hour. When I asked the bartender, she told us AFTER pouring our beers and taking our card that they “don’t have a happy hour.” Plus, the tab came with a 20% service charge. $25 for 2 beers and a cup of regret.

Brayden Heim: Me and my friends went here last Saturday after a very disappointing brunch somewhere else. The staff was very friendly, and helpful, and took our orders quickly. Drinks and food were both great, with decent prices. The DJ played a great mix of music and we all had a great time. Would definitely recommend!

Rebecca Boulanger: Wow, this place is a VIBE! Came here not really knowing what to expect as there wasn’t a super long line out the front like the other bars but this one was honestly our favorite of the night! The upper level was playing throwbacks all night and the song choice was great and kept us out until 2am. Definitely a hidden gem in DC and would recommend!

Kevin Lo: Love this place! Had a horrible experience at a nearby brunch spot with some friends and decided to search up a local bar. Wait time was under 5 mins to get in. Upstairs, it was good music, clean environment, and AMAZING service by the bar staff. We were served immediately and the bartenders even make recommendations dependent upon my past order. 100% would return if I am in DC again.

Pascal Gloor: Hi John, it was a real honor to meet you. your place is amazing and so authentic (especially the benches haha). keep up the good work. Cheers from Solongo and Pascal

Joshua Bradley: Music was way too loud to enjoy. Could not hear or socialize with anyone in my group (even the person sitting 1 ft away). Multiple people from my party asked the DJ to turn the music down and they turned it up. We moved to a different part of the venue where the music was quieter and after 30 minutes, the volume there was also turned up to deafening levels. This was a Sunday afternoon…not club hours (midnight) on a Friday. For anyone interested in taking a date here, you’re better off going somewhere else where you can actually hear everything being said.

Sabrina Mendoza: Great chill place They are very mindful of COVID and have areas to direct traffic one way to get to the tables and for guests to go to the restroom Very clean Great staff that helped with suggesting beers

Renee von Behren: Tasty beers in a rooftop location that can’t be beat. Definitely a German beer hall feel. You can even order a liter of beer here. I recommend the Hofbrauhaus Hefeweizen. Enjoy!

Service Bar DC: what do users think?

Elias Chelala: Awesome location with a cool vibe. They have an enormous selection of cocktails and delicious food. Make sure to try their spicy fried chicken sandwich which is very juicy and crispy. If you plan on visiting make sure to bring proof of vaccination. The prices are reasonable for the area and the service was decent! I will visit service bar again!

Kara Clark: Small bar with great food and drinks. Fried chicken sandwiches are stacked and cooked perfectly with seasons. Drinks menu are listed from light to strong. I do wish the food options was more but overall happy with the pick! Drinks absolutely great! Your bill will add up however, it was a bit pricey but overall great food. The bar is a bit small but they have outdoor eating areas as well.

Monica R S: The fried chicken is soooooo good! Food was overall delicious. The old fashioned was good. Service was good too. We sat outside and it was sufficiently heated.

Rebecca Kaufman: One of my favorite places to get cocktails in DC. They have such a great and wide selection of different specialty cocktails with plenty of different liquor options to choose from. They also always have seasonal options that change often as well as a great selection of small bar foods.

Lani: Casual bar with good drinks. You can only sit 1 hour and 30 mins. The food was about a 6/10, we got burgers and mozzarella balls.

Kelly Wiley: What a great little place with excellent drinks and food! Cullen was super knowledgeable about the menu items and the specifics of each drink! They have stellar homeade ginger beer!

Mark Orebiyi: On the search for the best Fried Chicken Sandwich in the DMV my team and I came across Service Bar. I highly recommend this restaurant. They are known for their cocktails but this sandwich was devine. Solid portion as well (fries come separately). I would put them in my top 5 (and this was our 21 place). Our server, Cullen, was extremely informative and accommodating. I will be back.

Blake Arrington: Good drinks and great chicken The fried chicken meal is the best bang for you buck coming with 3 sides and 2 chicken thighs for $20, I definitely recommend it Make sure you try the original fried chicken. The Nashville hot is good but not as good as the original which has a honey glaze. The atmosphere is a very bar feel inside. If you sit outside they did a good job of turning the street into a nice seating area but it is very loud with cars driving past Would come again to just get the chicken to go

Whiskey Charlie: what do users think?

A Sabbagh: A very cool rooftop bar just overlooking the marina! The vibes were amazing, staff super friendly and prompt. We were a group of 7 and we just walked in (first come first serve). The views are amazing! They serve a quite good variety of drinks with not so much options of food as it’s not a restaurant, but we had flatbread pizza, marinated olives, ahi tuna salad and they were great. Recommended!

Corrin Fleming: Delicious mezcal cocktail and a lovely view! Friendly, skilled bartenders. A nice place to stop after the theater.

Katze Love: This is a fun rooftop bar with a beautiful view. The drink menu had a lot of variety and the food was good. Not a ton of food choices but that’s because it’s primarily a bar, not a restaurant. We got wings, flatbread pizza, marinated olives, and cheesecake. All very delicious! Cool spot to grab food and drinks after a day on a boat :)

Casey: Absolutely loved coming here! The drinks were fantastic and the bartenders were so kind and helpful. It is self seat and first come first serve, which I loved. Beautiful views of Virginia and the Potomac river. Definitely would come back here again ☺️

Sincere Johnson: The view from the rooftop is beautiful. Great vibe, good food, good drinks.

pooria riahi: This bar in my opinion has one of the top ten rooftops in DC. The view to the wharf waterfront and beyond is amazing. You can catch a nice sunset here. As far as the quality of food and cocktails go, this place serves you something good. The prices however are above average in DMV area.

Top of the Yard Rooftop Bar & Bites: what do users think?

Aavery Mundt: Fun bar with limited views of the baseball field. Mostly it shows views of the parking garage above. Small food selection of hotdogs but a decent rotating tap selection.

William Cogswell: Absolutely fantastic place to hang out and watch a game. Food is ok, ball park style, definitely not a "dinner" place, but looking for a hot dog and a cold beer while you hang on a roof deck and watch a game?? This IS the place!!

David Zeledon: Mediocre drinks with an amazing view of the Potomac, the Nats stadium and the city.

Pat Healy: WHAT A JOKE! This place has an INCREDIBLE view of the stadium and could have a decent atmosphere. We attempted to make a reservation online before going up, but even when we tried even a wide range of times, it informed us they were booked. We decided to take our chances. (this was late night, hours after a game was finished) There are probably less than 20 tables to begin with. The solo waitress made a big deal that we had no reservation even though half the tables were open. Allowed us to sit at a table if we were going to be less than 45 min. Fine. You must order EVERYTHING through and app and you are forced to give a minimum tip of 18%. Im usually a big tipper, but based on service, I would have only given 10%. I ordered via the app. After about 10 minutes of noticing, the server, bartender and cook standing around, I mentioned to the server that I ordered drinks and food. They realized their Wifi was down and did not receive my order. While being there for around 45 min, at least 5-6 other parties came up and went through the same process as us. They told the server they tried to reserve a table. She allowed most to have a table if they were going to be quick. Food was ok (comes in a prepared box that has probably been sitting in a warmer. Drinks were good but way overpriced (which is typical, I know.) The only positive was we got to see a good view of the stadium and the music was good. Will not be back.

Jeff Torre: A great view of the Washington Capitols ball park, and surrounding area

Shelby Kennedy: A really beautiful view. We found this place because my friends wanted to sit at a quiet rooftop bar and have American food. This place fit the bill. Go in the hotel and hit the top floor button. A simple menu of solid standards--pizza, salad, hot dogs. The beer is cold. Nothing fancy, but very peaceful. A cool view of the Nationals ballpark. You can watch the planes fly into Reagan. Nice memories.

The Rooftop at The Ven at Embassy Row: what do users think?

farida popal: I was there on Saturday the 25th. We wanted to go to the rooftop bar. As soon we were at main entrance, the door man greeted us and guide us. When we went to the bar the atmosphere was nice. The drinks were a bet pricey and bar food was great! I’ll defiantly go again.

chrisy edme: The stay was wonderful! The staff at the front desk are amazing ! Specially Lyle at the front desk, he was just a sweetheart to us. We booked our stay prior to them implementing the daily amenity fee. He waived it off of our stay and informed us that he will be more than happy to still provide the perks ! We received some sent sachet of jasmine and lavender which were amazing :) In addition to that he provided us with late check out because our flight was later in the afternoon. He also gave us some great tips of how to get around since it was our first time in DC. Also my room was provided with daily housekeeping and my housekeeper was just a sweetheart too but forgot her name unfortunately. My only Con was the bathroom size, as it was super small and there was no ventilation.

Kimberly “ ” Watson: Excellent! Love the space! The art exhibit in the hotel was wonderful!

Reuben Wauyo: This is a beautiful venue and would seem to be all great but terrible customer service. Called for a reservation and information on restaurant and was referred to main line. To which someone picked up after I waited on hold, heard me then hung up. This is the most disrespectful and frustrating thing I can think of when trying to get things set for events. Calling back no one picks up and I have now been calling main line for 30 minutes to be assisted and again no one to answers. You would have to be crazy to work with these guys on anything important for you will receive absolutely no clarification or answers on any questions you have. I was very surprised to even see positive reviews at all. I really hope it’s an isolated event, but if I can help anyone else not deal with my issue I’ll be glad to steer you away and onto another location. I will update with location and name after my reservation is set with our new venue. Also to be noted, not even the central main line can reach these guys and are unwilling to even try. I believe we’ve definitely dodged a bullet.

Walter Hunt: Friendly staff , great location, very accommodating

Vue Rooftop: what do users think?

Elizabeth T.: Awesome location for a rooftop - only issue is that the best views are by the standing bar which seems to be an odd placement considering the food is expensive and you would think that they would seat more people by the windows. Drinks are on the pricier side with beer starting at $11. We ordered the burrata and lobster mango to start - by far the highlight of the meal. For dinner I got the lamb burger and it was okay but I’ve had better.

Elliott Schellinger: The views of the Washington monument are absolutely unparalleled from the booth at the Vue Rooftop. This was my first time at the establishment and I must admit I am quite impressed. The staff and the management were extremely accommodating, even though our demands were somewhat obnoxious. They were willing to open up the private dining area just for the two of us, and let us experience the D.C. skyline at its absolute best. The food was quite delicious. The appetizers in particular were truly scrumptious; “calamari” and “Parmesan fries” are the absolute must, along with the “olives and bread” starter. The must have cocktail for me was the “power to peaches”, divinely smooth and summery fresh. All-in-all, it was a perfect bon-voyage evening before we headed back to NYC. Thanks to the staff and the management for wrapping up our Washington D.C. visit in a ribbon with a luxurious bow on top.

JR Franks: Definitely worth checking out for the views of the WH and Mall, and the rooftop itself is quite spacious with a good amount of seating. The drinks were (unsurprisingly) on the pricier side so I probably wouldn’t come back often. Didn’t try the food but the burgers looked excellent, I’d probably try one if/when I come back.

Pat S: We had a table of 13 guest for a dinner party. My calamari was hard and overcooked my entree the seafood linguine was distasteful. Our entire table didn’t enjoy their entrees. Beautiful views of the White House and Mall, and the rooftop it’s spacious with a good amount of seating and upscale. Good vibes and ambience for drinking and dance only, dine somewhere else. The drinks were on the pricier side my cocktail was $22, overall so I probably won’t come back as often.

JD: This is a great spot for the social fare and view. It was packed on a Tuesday evening. Food was okay. Service okay. Drinks are great. Service gratuity is included in your bill, so tip extra when warranted

Robert Chang: If you want a great view of the White House, definitely check out this bar. Definitely worth spending the price for a drink just to check out the view. The drinks are definitely on the pricier side and my Old Fashion was a tad small but once again, the view was worth it.

PGAmos: Fantastic view. The White House is hidden because of the trees but I’m sure it’s in plain view during the winter. I attended an event and everything I ate was tasty. The drinks weren’t bad either! I’ll be adding this to my list for out-of-town folks to visit.

Susan FG: Food was great, as were service and views. One drink from the outdoor bar was not good, indoor bar drinks were definitely better. We still had to wait about 20 minutes for our table but that was not too bad

Christopher king: The view was pretty great. I ordered the lobster and rice because the bartender recommended it. The presentation was great but it tasted really dry. My friend got the crab cakes and those were delicious! Dont get the rice, it’s not worth $54. Probably wouldn’t visit again.

Ellipse Rooftop Bar: what do users think?

Morris Jones: The good - This is a nice place to enjoy time with a friend...great views. Food offerings were on par for a roof top bar. The "beef" - The bar area is small...enough for hotel guests to enjoy and groups of two. The bar size and the bar service are not satisfactory for handling a group or a table with more than 3. Do not go expecting table service (none). You must go to the small bar to order everything...paying for a table or a round of drinks was a challenge. Paying for a $40 shot of whiskey served in plastic glassware (?)...I did enjoy my table guests, the view and the weather. I expected better service...

Donovan Craig: Nice rooftop with a bit of a view, the atmosphere was very relaxed, just wish they were open to the public more as we saw multiple days where they were closed for private events.

Rich Opalinski: Weather was perfect while we stayed, both bartenders were attentive, great views

M planetmike: (Update 2022 June) Arrive early if you want a seat. Conveniently located to McPherson Square. There is a happy hour. However due to its relatively small footprint and its connection to the hotel it is often reserved and unavailable. Recommend calling ahead to verify it is open. It is a refreshing spot on summer days.

Rachel Cipkins: Perfect place to unwind after a day at the national mall

Adara Ney: A perfect place for an after work drink to watch the sunset and soak up nice weather. Great for group events too! I hosted a team happy hour with 20-30 and had a great experience. Great food (and prices!) on the catering menu and Brittany did a fantastic job coordinating the event.

David Cuevas: they never used real tequila on my tequila cocktai, I got a headache before I finished it.

Brenda-renee Vance: I enjoyed myself. The bartender was amazing. My drinks was good beginning to end.

Mike Rucki: Overpriced drinks, very limited bar selection, and not enough bartenders on a cramped rooftop. A decent view earns an extra star, but I cannot recommend this spot.

Top of the Gate: what do users think?

Alvaro H. Torres: Amazing view and I would highly recommend it. The sunset was amazing and the food was delicious. I had a memorable experience and enjoyed it spending it with my wife and first born. If you are in the DC area, this is a must stop for the Watergate scandal and for the rooftop bar.

Adam Galazka: Amazing views at night. Service was great. Drinks were great as well. Definitely a little pricey on drinks but probably expected in a hotel. It did close at 1115 on a Friday which seemed a little early for a Friday night. We will definitely come back.

Claus R B: The view of this place is just AMAZING! Perfect for special occasions, we had a wonderful lady helping us to choose the appetizers and she was right...the shrimp is great and if you are hungry order the pizza. Drinks are expensive but worth it.

Zeeshan E: Booked a table for 3 a few months in advance to make sure we get a good view as we expected experience. The issues are simple but shocking. Started a boys weekend off by visiting this embarrassing place. 1) We were seated somewhere around the side towards the back on old wicker seating with no cushions. Be warned not all seating is good. The chairs are low and you have to stand to get a view. Some towards the front bar area seem nicer. 2) We waited 50 minutes for one round of simple drinks. @$20-$25 each for vodka and ginger beer or rum and coke. Our reservation was at 5PM hardly a crowd. 3) Waited another 40 minutes for food. Basic pizza and fries another $1xx. Total was over $200 and auto gratuity lol what a joke. We will NEVER ever come back. Terrible service, grossly understaffed and over priced. We will personally go out of my way to make sure everyone knows NOT to waste a second in this place.

Denise: I felt the previous views were unwarranted. This one of the best rooftop bars in DC. The view is amazing, service was professional, and drinks were on par. The prices are about right with other high class rooftops. I will be coming back here again soon.

Matt Ryder: Had the audacity to cancel a reservation we made weeks in advance the day of “due to a private event”. Note to management: if you’re going to be so bold as to tell all reservations they will be charged $50/pp cancellation fee for any reservations cancelled within 24 hours - you should do the same should the tables turn. Will you be paying me $100 now due to your lack of proper scheduling and communication to your guests?? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Maxwell D.: Frankly, really disappointing. There is so much potential here to be a destination bar and they absolutely squander it! The cocktails are $18, served in thin plastic cups, and of the same quality that you’d get at a cheap late night college bar. The food, which is hilariously overpriced, is also average at best. $29 for two pitiful skewers with overcooked steak on them and a $26 7 Eleven pizza with some olives and banana peppers thrown on it. The service was below average as well, with servers disappearing for long periods of time, employees literally throwing drinks off the roof, and an otherwise pleasant hostess that waved us through and advised us to sit anywhere despite having a reservation. The ONLY redeeming quality of this bar is the stunning views of Georgetown, Arlington, the Kennedy Center, and the low flying aircraft on approach to DCA. DO NOT come here expecting quality concessions and cocktails, or even decent service.

sdgainesdc: Limited menu, pricey, staff seemed pretty helpful. Not a place I would go too often but it was a special occasion.

Will Normand: The rooftop was practically EMPTY, and it was just 2 of us and we wanted to get a drink at the bar. They insisted we "check in" at the host stand prior to going to the bar, which insanely took around 8 minutes per group. Literally took 15 minutes of standing in line at the host stand with barely anyone in front of us to be able to get a drink at the bar. The host had zero sense of urgency, handled everything as slowly as possible. Very disappointing experience. Once we got to the front, they said we needed a reservation just to have a drink at the bar. Horrible, will never be back

12 Stories: what do users think?

Megan Martinez: This place is perfect for celebration cocktails and happy hour. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and I took my sister here for her birthday. Both times the view was spectacular, it wasn’t too crowded, and the service is just amazing. Each time the waiter brought a couple celebration shots and it made the occasion even more special! Deon was so friendly and welcoming. I can’t wait to go back!

Jason Saville: My company rented out the place for a night and we all had a blast. Very beautiful place, lots of room, great drinks and fast service. The view off the roof top is really nice. I would love to go back.

Black Star Dust: As you enter it looks like a hallway to no where but once you take the elevator ALL the way up, you’ll definitely feel like you’ve arrived. The rooftop vibes are on point. Great outdoor patio seating with panoramic views of the Potomac and Potomac golf course/Haines Point. I had the delicious salmon and kale salad and an old fashion. Both were delicious. The music and vibes are top tier. Great for a date night or night on the town with friends.

Donna Thompson: Came here got a quick pre-show meal. The menu was very limited but it made due. The grilled shrimp and the lamb steam buns were top notch. Also service was great. The place was empty but they made sure to make us feel welcomed.

Nia Bright: Very limited menu option. Beautiful restaurant + vibe but I wasn’t very satisfied with the Turkey club sandwich. Not sure what kind of sauce the put on because the menu don’t state it. The bread on the sandwich tasted terrible so I didn’t eat it. The po boy is good when they don’t toast the bread too long. Crab tacos 4/5 tasted good but I wish it had more than just cheese and crab. The crab dip was very tasteful. They should up the chips portion. So anyway the experience was good. I just wasn’t satisfied. Very good service for everyone. Also love that it’s a 21+ location. Thank you for bringing out our friend cake with candles

Trena Briscoe: I recently celebrated my birthday with some close friends at 12 Stories at the Wharf. Everything from planning the event to having the party was easy and enjoyable. I reserved the Cove area of the club for my event, and it was perfect: The staff was attentive. The food was delicious! The music and the atmosphere were chic and elegant. I want to thank Judy Ava, the event planner, especially - she made me feel welcomed and handled everything with excellent care. I would be thrilled to host another event here.

Tina Beale: I was disappointed that we had a $75 minimum per person for bar food and was required to dress up for a lounge setting. The crab dip had mostly cheese and the drinks were water down. The Po Boy, chicken tenders and truffle fries were good. The View was spectacular but not sure it was worth the $500 dollars price tag for 90 minutes. That’s right you get only 90 minutes to enjoy the view. But at least I can say I tried it.

Candace L: Beautiful outdoor seating. It was cold outside but the heaters outside made the weather bearable. Our server was great, quick, and friendly. I tasted the chicken and burger. Get the chicken! It was delicious. My friend enjoyed the crab dip. Drinks were made quickly and tasted great. We made reservations and our table was ready when we arrived. Parking is a beast so arrive early. They stick to their 90 minute times on reservations.

THE BETSY: what do users think?

LP: Follow the chicken feet from the Main Street to the back alley entrance! It’s cute covered rooftop spot, the drinks are good and food is hearty homey. Didnt like how the bartender refused to use the gin I already paid for in a cocktail because it was “meant to sip”. I tasted it - and decided I didn’t wanna sip it. Being rude and elitist won’t have me back again.

Paul Nolan: Excellent rooftop bar in DC! Large menu of gin drinks. Pretty small space which makes it feel cozy and not overwhelming. Food is good too. Definitely add to your bucket list of DC bars.

Jason Mellen: Brie waffle sandwich and chocolate mousse. Pretty good. Drinks just alright.

Fanise Cannon: If my aesthetic was a place, it would be BETSY! It’s like taking a trip out of DC but not having to leave the city. I’ve only had cocktails and they were superb and refreshing to say the very least. I went for my birthday weekend and the staff was very nice and helped me pick out a drink based on what I liked. I love some vibes and a good gin drink, so I will definitely be back!!

Carl-Gustav Anderson: The cutest gin bar in the city. G&Ts are all wonderful, thoughtful, and varied, and there are a handful of truly excellent cocktails available. A+

Mel Köberle: Found this place following the cute chicken feet spray painted on the floor. We were very pleasantly surprised with the amount of space and unique decor. When all other spots were beyond crowded this place had ample space and a mouth watering menu. We were able to keep our bikes safely here as well which is a plus! The food is fantastic, I’m coming back to try more things. Enjoy!

TAKODA - Rooftop Restaurant & Beer Garden: what do users think?

Katie Hallock: This place was perfect for a casual date night with some friends. I loved the vibe and decor and definitely loved the seating on the balcony. It’s a busy part of town so parking can be nearly impossible and it’s not unusual for your time there to be filled with lots of sirens and ambulances passing by or even loud people on motorcycles. We all decided to go the appetizer route and get one of everything to share. The boneless chicken wings have an amazingly flavorful and crunchy out exterior which is fantastic! The inside is pretty darn juicy, too! But it wasn’t unusual to find a good amount of chewy fat or something going on inside. The truffle fries were super delicious! The old bay tots weren’t overwhelmed by the seasoning, but they were nice and crispy and perfect for dipping in the yummy garlic aïoli. Of the sliders and sandwiches, I personally thought that the barbecue pork was way better than any of the other options. The burger looked pretty boring and I was disappointed in the lack of flavor and the short rib sandwich.

Maalik hutchinson: Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely rooftop restaurant in DC. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing, everything we tasted especially the chicken biscuit. Absolutely the best brunch experience I’ve had while in DC. Highly recommend!

Ricardo Daley: Went for their Sunday Brunch and was very disappointed with their service. The menu was in 3 parts - first comes with everything with second and third being requested with one from each section individually. They had no bacon from the first part and no substitute. Took like 25 minutes between request and delivery. Asked for extra napkins before meal was served and still waiting. Even after requesting items from second and third menus and he wrote it down, he came back to ask if we needed anything. SMH. Food was average at best! Service was TERRIBLE! The only thing that was fast was when we asked for the check. It came quickly. Only thing going for them was the tall Asian chef/cook who came out in his running shorts looking tasty! He shouldn’t be in the back!

Rahul Panchal: Great place to hangout in downtown with best part they have rooftop sitting area. Rooftop section is little small so you need to come early or wait little longer. The best part is their name of the cocktails, we tried Pfizer gang and Fully vaxxed. 4 star is because they add too much ice to get the taste of cocktails and all cocktails were premixed from tab. We liked the ambience and rooftop section to enjoy few drinks. Worth visiting.

Hector Zarate: Good and affordable place for lunch (awesome brunch deal). Great location for bar hopping after brunch. Food is good. The rooftop views are nice. Fast service and friendly staff. The drink selection was good but most of them tasted like they may have relied a lot on flavored syrups perhaps? so some of them were on the very sweet side. 4 stars overall!

Kimberly Stamets: I had a fantastic time at bottomless brunch thanks to our server, Ramon! If you can, ask for him! The food was tasty and the mimosas were flowing. Great time!

Jay Cheat: The drinks 🍹 was pre mixed all them tasted the same and the food was over priced and dry. If you want to just get drunk then it’s ok, sorry 😢 you can’t get drunk lol 😂 😂🤣 but for a good experience NOOOOOO!!!!!

Roof Terrace Restaurant: what do users think?

Ron Milkowski: I have never been to the Kennedy Center and had no idea that there even was a restaurant. What a very nice dining experience. Santo our waiter was very knowledgeable with the food and drinks. It is a bit pricey but worth it. Even if you are not going to an event I highly recommend checking it out.

Anusha Chatterjee: Wonderful bar service! The food was so good. Had the tuna carpaccio and the salmon. Both were absolutely perfect! Lovely seasonal Cocktails. Perfect stop before or after the show. The bar has the full menu, so no reservations were needed. Lovely intimate vibe.

Craig Herrick: We’ve been here a number of times over the years though this was the first visit in two years. The Terrace has upped their game. My lamb chops and wife’s fillet would go over well in any finer local venue. The service was prompt and professional and based around our show time. Terrace maintains most of its vintage (60’s) vibe which is what I like about it.

Myrna Linzy: Very good. Waitress was very good in helping me with which meal. Picked my drinks. Awesome place.

Catina Carter: The food and service was outstanding. Wonderful place to have a beautiful experience of class. The views were wonderful as well.

Mary Robinson: Wonderful dinner before a show. Cant beat the views! Professional service throughout the meal.

Veronica Coleman: Wonderful evening at the Kennedy Center and dining at the Roof Terrace Restaurant. Great food. Great music.

Phil Cooke: Great setting at the Kennedy Center, ideal for pre show dinner. Service was excellent; overall, food was very good. Our party of four got fish, with the bass being the best, by far. Others, trout and salmon, were just okay. It is a little pricey, but the setting, service and convenience make it worth it.

Bar Deco: what do users think?

Damon Okey: Great little dive in Chinatown with a rooftop bar. American style pub fare with a good cocktail menu and a few craft brews to chose from. Service was friendly, if a bit understaffed. Glad we stopped!

Anthony L. Forshier: I ordered the Gouda Short Rib Burger; it was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I don’t often write reviews of bars or restaurants; but knowledge of that short rib burger must be shared with the world. The short rib was delicious; but what made it exquisite was the added sweetness of the maple syrup coupled with the savory Gouda cheese. The crunchiness of the toasted bun ensured that each bite appealed to all five senses. I will be back.

Will Combs: We sat on the rooftop. Staff was fun and outstanding. Food was amazing as well. The pictured sandwich is only half of it. Portions are more than enough and fairly priced. Atmosphere and quality make this definitely worth a visit.

Shay Holihan: The whole place is 4 floors and I went when only two of the floors were open. The rooftop is very spacious and the 3rd floor bar is very long. They have great great happy hour specials. And I got the burrata salad with chicken and it was pretty good. Only reason I’m not giving it a 5 was because of the service. My bartender was really fast but not personable. I’ve been a bartender for over 5 years so it hurts to see none of the bartenders care about their guests. Also they add an automatic 20% grat on to every tab. Which I always pay more but it feels very odd to do it so high automatically.

M H: We were here for a Caps game and the larger female server was just angry the entire time. Thank goodness your other server in a black hoodie was there. She was awesome, polite, got us what we needed and even offered to go upstairs for a different beer we were looking for. Went on 5/7/2022 if you are a manager. She is the only reason we will come back. Please teach or help the other server. She was absolutely terrible. As a member of the armed forces and a past server myself, it was absolutely uncalled for and really upset the people around us and ourselves, food was awesome by the way!

Justin M: Self serve bar with first come first serve. Good drinks!

Smoke & Mirrors: what do users think?

Irene Toporovskaya: Great experience! Beautiful rooftop, delicious food and drinks, attentive staff. We had the best time. The space is gorgeous both indoors and outdoors and food menu selection is really diverse. Everything we tried was fantastic. Highly recommend the potatoes, iberico bikini, fat cat, fried duck wings; and their chilled grey toddy was amazing.

Kimberly W.: Pros: Gorgeous Views! Beautiful people with superb interior design. The tater tots were dressed up nicely and were tasty! Loved the burger, very nice flavors. Cons: We we’re excited to try the impressively described smoking cocktail, unfortunately the machine for it was broken… seems like a place like this would have more than one. We attempted to order alternative cocktails but the bar was out of the necessary ingredients. We ordered duck wings, I love duck. Unfortunately the wings were so tough we had to pick them up to chew them. These were Large Wings! In such a beautiful atmosphere holding it in my hand fighting to bite it wasn’t a good look! I would suggest that they cook them until tender so that a fork could be used. It would also help if they were already halved if hands are necessary.

Jasmine Garrett: I went to the soft opening of Smoke & Mirrors and was blown away!!!! The views and ambiance are UNMATCHED in Navy Yard. This will most definitely be my go-to bar. The food and drinks were top tier. I had the Diver Scallops (amazing), the Macalllan cocktail and the Espresso Martini. I even love the instrumentals of 90s Hip Hop playing in the back....it just made the overall experience exquisite. David, the restaurant manager, was AMAZING as well. He is so sweet and so kind. Smoke & Mirrors - you have a regular on your hands now :)

Mishel M.: This place is nothing short of AMAZING! The atmosphere, ambiance, vibe, everything is just perfect. The views? To die for. I came here with one other person on a Saturday evening around 6:30p. I had reservations and was seated immediately and served water as soon as we sat down. It wasn’t too crowded but there was a nice amount of people there. Our server was great and very attentive. I’ll definitely be back here again!

Rachele Clegg: This spot has some of the best views of the Capitol in the city. When you walk into the AC hotel downstairs, make sure you go all the way to the back elevator to get to floor 11, where there will be a concierge waiting to send you up. There are two bars upstairs — one indoor and one outdoor. We grabbed drinks outdoors. For the price point, the drink menu could’ve been more creative and it was clear that the bar was busier than the sole bartender outside could handle. We did not have food, but this seems to be a great spot to host any sort of happy hour with a small to medium sized group of folks. You definitely are paying for the view.

Roofers Union: what do users think?

Jesse P: We went on a Friday night when it was very busy at surrounding restaurants and bars. To my surprise we got in immediately and sat right away. We had a nice window seat and could look down and see the street and nightlife. The online ordering system was easy to navigate. After ordering drinks, they were almost instantly brought out. The food soon came and was piping hot. The burger was delicious and cooked to the perfect medium rare. Great vibes and service. Huge drink selection including draft beer.

james firsick: Staff kicked myself and my girlfriend out after one drink. Her drink was too strong and spit some out due to that and we we’re promptly escorted out for no reason. Drinks are very mediocre and over priced. Your money can be spent much better in DC.

Anica Landreneau: Everything you loved about the Reef without the aquariums. I have great memories of the rooftop bar from when i moved to DC 17 years ago. The roof is still one of the greatest spots in Adams Morgan for a drink with a view.

Michael William Majorczak: Amazing Place. Sunday Brunch. It’s called a Hot Mess. Man was it good. Fried Egg over a boneless chicken thigh over potatoes with sausage gravy! The Bloody Mary was excellent and an awesome beer menu with some great craft sour Beers.

L B: 75 minute time limit is insane even with COVID. 120 minutes is reasonable for limit. Also, food and drinks all came in plastic and one-use plastic silverware/paper plates was not ok for the high prices. It’s also very poor for the environment. Additionally, requiring one food item per guest is not reasonable as some guests could just get two drinks for the same price.

Julia Sellers: Went to Roofer’s Union for brunch. My two friends did bottomless and I got a coffee. Our server come by often to refill my friends drinks, but not once asked me or refilled my coffee and left us waiting for him for about 15 minutes after we got the checks. The eggs Benedict was good, but the brunch menu is pretty limiting unless you want everything fried and greasy. They also ran out of OJ- a cardinal sin for a Sunday brunch in DC. Probably not returning any time soon.

Peter Fernandez: Hip 2nd floor place in Adams Morgan. Very bright with great views of the neighborhood out of floor to ceiling windows. Service is friendly and prompt. Bloody Marys were tasty, food was very good.
