Washington International Student Center: what do users think?

Hernán Cortés: I really enjoyed how nice the staff was when I visited. This place is located in a fun strip of the city and one can find plenty to do here. Within the complex of the building, there are rooms to stay as it is a hostel. Cheap price that worked for me, but the spacing was just too restrictive. Plenty of bathrooms, though! And apparently free breakfast if you know when to be up for it.

Ryan Bamsey: Very good hostel and at a great price! Steve who runs the hostel was very friendly and couldn’t help us enough when it came to losing some luggage. Couldn’t recommend this hostel more!

Edward Cohen: Mr Steve, is a very kind and funny man. He is very well versed in the history of the area, as well as the history of baseball! The area is perfect if you are looking for food and fun. The hostel has a very warm and homey environment, the staff are incredibly helpful.

Hernan Cortes: Great customer service. Nestled in between shops. A little too cozy as far as spacing. Not bad enough to dock a star.

Simon Cardenas: Friendly staff, good location, beds are okay. Im definitely staying here if I come back

Nora: I’ve been here last February before the pandemic and I really enjoyed staying here the price so convenient and the staff were so nice and friendly they made sure that I get whatever I needed and they were so helpful and happy to help I honestly felt like home here and this is the only hostel I like among all hostels I’ve been at. Back then they served breakfast every day and there were some activities every week. Somehow everyone I met there was lovely and friendly we had so fun hearing each other stories and future plans. I’m so thankful for this experience. Also about the location it’s so nice there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops in the area almost one block away. I highly recommend it.

Ellen SC: Such a lovely hostel. Was made to feel so welcome, like I was coming home. Beds were comfy and hostel was quiet enough to get a good nights sleep but also lots of social areas. Would definitely recommend!

Emily Wakwe: Surprisingly excellent! 👏🏾 Only request is that mirrors or a mirror needs to be in the room.

Lauren: Loved my stay at this hostel. The location is beautiful in a very lively neighborhood. A 5min walk gets you to the bus stop. It’s about a 20 min ride to the national mall and DCA. Spacious and clean rooms. The beds were comfortable although very squeaky. I had a room on the third floor and had the bathroom to my self every morning. Very friendly staff. Went out Saturday night with people from the hostel and had an incredible time. If you’re a solo traveler going to DC and thinking about booking any kind of accommodation I recommend this hostel.

Camryn King: My stay was AMAZING! the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating! All of the general areas, bathrooms, and my room was extremely clean and up to par. I really really loved staying here. I would suggest to anyone who may think about staying in a bigger room with more beds that your privacy may be worth the little extra fees. I stayed in a 14 bed mixed gender room and I don’t have any complaints, I just think I would prefer a more expensive room next time for more privacy 😊

Jeff Martin: This hostel is awesome! I’m a teacher, I brought 15 students here. The staff was incredibly responsive, helpful, prompt, and professional in advance of arrival. We were greeted by staff and shown to our rooms in a very welcoming manor. They were nice to me and my students. The showers are clean. the beds are very very comfortable and do not squeak when you turn over in them. The vide is hip and fun. The location is in the heart of the fun to be had in Adams Morgan. I will definitely recommend this hostel to others and will definitely plan to come back (without students) to have fun with this hostel as my home base!

DC International Hostel 1: what do users think?

Konstantin Lakshin: Excellent. Good location that lets you explore the less touristy side of Washington, friendly staff, a wide variety of guests, both nomadic types of all ages and families, from all over the world. Nice kitchen, and a Giant supermarket within an easy walking distance. Clean. Unexpectedly nice, although shared, facilities. Also, you can see that they care and keep working on making the place even better. The only caveat: BEWARE OF TRAVEL SITES that advertise and reserve private rooms that DC International Hostel does not have at this time. Yet, when I arrived there with a single room reservation made through an airline as one of those package/add-on deals, Farid (hostel manager) was very friendly and efficient. He immediately offered me an entire four-bed room. Kudos!

Olga Lucía: I highly recommend this hostel for the extremely helpfull staff, cleaness and excellent location, near to a train station, markets and you can go walking to Chinatown and Federal Triangle from the hostel. I could rest well in the bed I had. I had to work quite lot in my staying and I found the most considered people there, and helped me to be safe and seize the time I got in Washington.

Yumi Violet: Where to even begin? This was my first experience ever staying at a hostel. I am really glad I chose Capitol Comfort Hostel. The staff was exceptional. When booking they answered all questions, gave me advice on where to park (parking in DC is a bit of a task), places to eat. Any question I had, they answered. When arriving they were very welcoming and showed my friend and I around the hostel. What I really liked about this place is that there were so many options to chose from, having the female only rooms is a major plus in my opinion, that is the option I chose. The rooms were small but they had everything you would need, I was not expecting linen, but they had fresh linen on the bunks. They had a good sized kitchen and bathrooms. Very clean place. I highly recommend this establishment, respectful caring staff, clean place and super affordable. Other tenants were great also. I was extremely pleased and if I am ever back in DC I know where I will be staying. Thank you so much Capitol Comfort. Thanks for making my trip to DC a little more pleasant.

Cynthia Onyilimba: After a rocky start due to misunderstandings on the side of my German travel mate they were very quick to make up for any upset there may have been. The staff were really friendly but one was kind of lecherous too sometimes and made comments about my appearance which made me a little uncomfortable. The beds were standard / good for a hostel and it was a very good price.

Jonathan Weber: I was looking for a cheap accomodation at a central place in Washington for a reasonable price - and finally that is what I got when I stayed here. You cannot expect high-class rooms and beds for the price that you are paying here - you get a bed in a dorm (mixed rooms, mixed restrooms, +kitchen) in an "old" house. But: Everything was clean, there were no big problems with the reservation, booking, payment or stay and you can meet nice people in the hostel. The staff was not the friendliest one and neither reservation nor booking/check-in were on a professional basis where you can feel assured that you get what you want at the end. One star less than five for that!

Clarissa G: Stayed one night with a friend in the private two-bed room. Check in was easy, room had everything we needed. I do wish the bathroom was a little better enclosed (it had a glass wall all around but the glass was only frosted beginning partially up). But the fact that they managed to fit so many amenities into the space so efficiently was very impressive. Room was very clean. Definitely would recommend to travelers on a budget. Would visit again.

Shakayla Torrence: This was my first time visiting Washington DC and I can say I wouldn’t have stayed anywhere else. From the time we got there around 9:50, the kind lady at the front desk helped us get checked in, told us where everything was, and guided us to the right direction of parking. The doors were easy to get in if you had the Goki app. I loved that feature. I booked the large pod which was a room shared with about 20 more pods and there was still privacy and people respected quiet hours. Loved the view from the balcony as well. The hostel was clean and organized. The showers were very clean, the bathrooms were clean, and the pods were clean. We loved the location too because we could get to everything in walking distance and the metro transportation was easy to use. All I can say is WOW. We will definitely be back to the U Street Capsule Hostel. Thanks for making my first visit to DC a memorable one. ☺️

Faith Y: Solid experience - the location is by some fun shops, bars and restaurants. Glad it’s not a party hostel so people were respectful and quiet at night. The coffee shop is cute as well but a lot of it was automated. You can check in on an app and don’t really need to interact with anyone. The capsule itself is surprisingly spacious (but I am short!) so I could sit up easily and even store my bag inside. It has a big lighted mirror, USB ports, hooks, a folding table and a bright vs low blue lighting options. The opening is just a pull down shade so it’s a step up from bunk beds but you can hear everyone rustling. That said, I found everyone’s baggage to really cramp up the room because the lockers are tiny for valuables only and you have to bring your own lock. One of the bathrooms was out of order and the showers are in the basement but clean and well kept. Not bad for a few nights!

Nicholas Daniel: Great stay for my first time at a hostel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and willing to give recommendations for food in the area. The free pancakes every morning were great. All the facilities were kept clean. The hostel is well located near many attractions. The only real complaint was that the wifi was slow but with 20+ people there that is to be expected.

Dawn Horton: Thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Great for budget travel. Free breakfast of pancakes and lemonade, kitchen stocked with cooking essentials and 3 fridges to store your food. Great seating areas to socialize with travelers from around the globe including a rooftop patio. Centrally located with nightly outings to various nightlife spots in walking distance

Allison Kisch: After spending 5 days in a big hostel in New York with zero social interaction, I had the most amazing time here and I highly recommend it! the owner made us amazing pancakes and recommended this nice bar. They had us get together and we all went out as a group which was refreshing as that was really what was missing in New York!

Sharron Murray: Very nice hostel, good security, clean, great staff. Comfortable bed, plenty of bathrooms. Somewhere nice to relax. No facilities for laundry. Some of the furnishings were worn and could do with replacing. Recommended

Joseph Mathias: This is probably one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in DC. The staff are super nice and welcoming, always making sure your visit and stay is enjoyable and going out of their way to make you feel welcomed. All the ladies working here are angels. I was scheduled to arrive late at night, and Jessica waited for me and checked me in when I arrived at night. The hostel is in a very nice neighborhood (Capitol Hill). Although it’s not close to the tourist sites, the Metro is 2 blocks away, you’re right by a grocery store (Trader Joes), and surrounded by great bars and restaurants. The wifi worked on all the floors (no spotty signal, it was strong on all 3 floors!) and rooms were super cool (a respite from the scorching DC heat). The rooftop patio was nice, and the outdoor patio. Delicious chocolate chip pancakes were served every morning, with coffee. TV had majority of the streaming services on it to keep you occupied, lounge on the 3rd floor had books and 2 computers. The only complaint I have is that the bathrooms are kinda in a very awkward spot (located smack dab in the living room). Anyone can see and hear you walk to and from the bathroom (and what you do inside), and when you walk out, the whole living room can see. The men’s showers are also next to the living room/kitchen, and anyone walking by the kitchen can see everything going on in the showers, making it slightly uncomfortable. Rooms were a bit cramped and small. But overall, the hostel was very clean and modern.

Jeni Sweet: Hostel located at 1010 Penn Ave SE, not NW! Good, clean hostel w nice staff.

gustavo “Gus” rivas-ortiz: Good customer service, breakfast okay, little small for the amount of ppl visiting, amazing location, food and transportation close by.

Kelly Cunningham: The reviews do don’t do this place justice. It was great for the price! The room was extremely clean, beds were very comfortable, and it had everything we needed for our stay. Yes, it was a little outdated, but you’re not paying $500 a night to stay here. Also, parking is only $25 a night On Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday-Thursday have free parking. There is no full continental breakfast, but there is coffee and muffins.. BUT, you’re in DC go enjoy breakfast at a good diner!

Lauren Klos: Although the hotel didn’t seem like much from the outside, the lobby is very nice and well-kept and the staff were very friendly. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I liked being able to walk to restaurants nearby and being in the city itself (instead of having to stay in North Bethesda for a similar rate). The one downfall was the nightly $25 rate for self-parking in their open garage.

Hannah Mench: If you’re looking for an easy, no frills, clean, quiet, peaceful, safe place, on a main road, look no further. I stayed for one night just traveling through town and it was simple, tidy and perfect. Disclaimer: the bed was not the comfiest mattress in the world but it was fine, and hey, the lady at the front desk was nice so it balances out.

Andrea Acosta: Cute hostel, perfect for traveling on a budget. They don’t provide locks for free, they sell them for $8...I didn’t use any and my roommates were very respectful of my things and my space. Even though there was one toilet per floor, I didn’t have any issues at all sharing the bathrooms with other guests, everyone was also very friendly. Will consider this place for next time.

Russ Musselman: We had an awesome time here! Super easy to get here from the capitol on bike. Lots of restaurants close by, and walmart is a few blocks away. The staff that we hung out with were super cool and helpful. They do a good job keeping it clean. The guests were from around the country and world. Very fun to just hang out and talk with people. We used the rooftop deck too, good bonus. All this for less than it would cost for anywhere nearby.

Alex Nikolic: Stayed in a private room (apartment) that the hostel provides. It was nice. Big enough for my group. We had our own kitchen. Beds were adequate. Linens seemed clean. Location was amazing. Would stay again.

Amanda Sykes: Super friendly staff!! They upgraded me with my pet to a larger room on the top floor with a view of the park across the street. Technology was awesome - could connect phone to TV. Everything was super clean! They also have water on every floor for the guests! The only thing I can “complain” about is there is no parking available. However, there is a garage around the block for $40 overnight. Last, there is no extra fee for a pet. Just have to sign a waiver. Will definitely stay here again if I am ever back in DC!

Samia Muhammad: This hotel 🏨 is best choice to be near from all activities near by such as White House. I highly recommend this hotel. The stuff especially Aline is amazing and helpful she changed my room next day to have a best view. The lounge in second floor has a fresh coffee ☕️. There is a water free.

Wei Hsu: We stayed here for two days, and I think I chose the best hotel in Washington DC! The location is great! Close to everywhere on foot. Including White House, monument and some museums! Also five mins away from subway station on foot! The service here is also great! The lobby is clean and make people feel comfortable. Next time when I travel to DC, I will choose this place again!

D Howe: Stayed here in May 2022. One of the best big city hotel experiences I’ve had. It’s not fancy and the rooms are basic but they’re spotless, the place is quiet, bathrooms are modern and clean, the staff is polite and helpful. Highly recommend this property. There is a Boulanger in across the street that serves up incredible breakfast items. Right next to a mtetro station.

Ganindu Madhawa: Stayed here for a week in Autumn 2017 and cost me around 260$/day just for the stay without meals. Obviously the rooms are comparatively smaller so was the bathrooms. . However it was perfectly equipped with needs for single person stay and I would say the stay was comfortable. The reception staff was so friendly The place is located in the heart of the busy suburbs and just few hundred yards from The White House, Renwick Gallery and a number of free museums. Rooms were clean.

Joshua Russell: First time to the convention center for Awesome Con 2022. Huge place with many halls and areas to meet. Multiple locations for bathrooms and some food selections as well. The staff was very helpful and super friendly. Awesome con was in fact awesome! Lost of cosplay, huge areas for original art, and many vendors for comics, cards, games, and so much more. First time coming to one of these and was very happy to be able to go. Next time will plan a bit better and spend more time and checking out the table top gaming areas as well.

Anthony Heady: Awesome Con - Always Awesome and Always amazing, everyone dressed up looks spectacular, there something for everyone, game halls to play, tons of art stuff for the kids. I can rant and rave for hours but you just need to go for atleast a day and see the fun for yourself.

Ivysfoodcorner: We visited the Walter E Convention Center for Washington DC Auto Show 2022 Event. This place is super convenient, right next to Metro station and surrounded by all locals restaurants. The facility was maintained very professionally, the security was organized and the restroom also very clean and super shiny! The Washington DC Auto Show 2022 is a must to visit! It’s an eye opener event especially if you’re planning to buy your future cars. We had a blast visiting this year, with all the pandemic precautions, all were organized professionally and you can definitely social distancing without problems. We’re spoiled and entertained by the numbers of cars on the show, all come with new technology and amazing design, especially the electric cars and the muscles cars. Not forget to mention about the electric buses! Check on the exotic cars section and the oldies cars just to be mesmerized! Don’t forget to check on the event while they’re still around!

Meet Miss Sallyy: Visited so many times for different meetings and conventions… last one AwsomeCon. Fun.

Williams world: AwesomeCon2022 was amazing great cosplays, friendly people good merchandise and tasty food.

Janice L: Huge convention with tons of food places around. Came here for Awesome Con and it was a really fun and clean location for a con. It has a good amount of chairs located all around the convention for sitting!

Joshari: The Convention Center is a great place for any Anime, Comic, or Manga Convention.

James Walker: Walked right up to Pagani Huayra, the $2,500,000+ Italian carbon fiber sports car, wow factor. The red Chevrolet Corvette Z06, caught my eye at about $90,000. The pretty blue 2022 Camaro LT1 Convertible starting at $41,145 was also an eye opener.

samson seyoum: We made a quite long road trip with my whole family of six.... my twin boys and the girls love the accessibility to the numerous play grounds near to our stay, while my wife were obsessed with the customer service, cleanliness and comfort of the bed ... it was such an outstanding experience for tourists like us who wants to explore most of the city since we were in a walking distance to public transportation... definitely a coming back customer here ... love the manager ; who gave complimentary teddy bear to my kids... Thanks you !

Ronnie Brown: I do not advise anyone to go there. Everything stinks.

TJ Travis Is Dead: Friendly staff. Perfect low cost spot to stay at while I was waiting to move into my new place. Nice kitchen area. There’s a backyard to smoke in with privacy. The only downside was that there was only one bathroom.

Woundim Demissie: The best hostel I have been and I want people to know that these is a brand new management used to be capitol city hostel so don’t be confused with the reviews which is still on the website. It’s so convenient next to street train and a lot of bars. I will be back.

TH Swiss: Great staff, clean and free breakfast. There is even free public transportation from the hostel to Union Station. The hostel is near to groceries and to the center. I definitely recommend this hostel.

Yidan Zheng: Stayed there for three nights and it’s really good!! The staff are so nice and friendly. They allow free late check out at 12pm. And the lobby is so comfortable. They have pool and gym and they also offer bike rental for only $14 for a day! The location is good with the bus stations. The only thing is the king bed is actually two twin sizes beds but I am okay with this! Thank you for providing such a good place to stay!!!

Jasmine: Not a hostel for socializing, but it is very elegant, clean, and innovative! Hands down one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. It’s basically a hotel with bunk beds. The shower and toilet was in the room and is set up exactly the same as a hotel. Bunk beds have a light, charger ports and cute little framed pictures of US presidents. Sheets and pillows were extremely comfy. Bikes available for rental. Cafe on-site that closes at 2. Great place to stay!!

Ras Sammiedread - DJ Morefire: Was in DC for a business trip with my wife and have to stay the night and finish up next day. Booked the Deluxe King Suite online and check in was smooth with Brittany at the front desk. Room and bath was very clean. Garage parking was a real test for my maneuverability skill and thought was a little expenses($40) for garage fees. We really loved our stay and peace of mind regardless. Will definitely again for sure.

m.: A little apprehensive going in as price was so good and there was no one at front desk upon arrival. However, turned out to be the perfect place to stay for a one night visit. I lucked into a great room with large windows which gave a perfect view of the street out front. The room was very bare bones but super clean. Bed was OK. TV listing would be nice. AC heat unit was quiet and super efficient. Room even had a ceiling fan. No microwave in room, teeny tiny one in lobby next to 24 hour coffee and tea. No restaurant or gym. Ice machine on second floor. If you are looking to eat on a budget, there is a Whole Foods Market right around the corner (all kinds of hot and cold prepared foods, even pizza.) I will stay here again. Nice lady at front desk works some long shifts!

Ambar Robinson: I enjoyed my stay great staff and clean room. Elevator works and good wifi for work. I would stay again.

Edward A. Gray: Very nice and clean staff was excellent. Location was perfect for me to walk around DC. I would stay here again.

Andrew R: nice hotel in a not busy area that is a good deal near restaurants and convenience store to get you through a DC trip

Marsha Royal: No frills but well priced for the area. Walking distance to stores, restaurants and the bus. Helpful staff.

Another bonus is the cold water they keep in the lobby. It had ice and was full every time we came down morning or night. What a comfort for busy tourists, especially in the summer. There are drugstores, food and coffee right around the corner. And ubers into all of the tourist attractions were fairly inexpensive. We will be staying here again! dispense in the lobby

Cherelle: Cleanliness has always been my biggest priority and this hotel surpassed my expectations. My room was absolutely pristine. The house keeping staff deserves many praises. The lighting details in the rooms were amazing. Mood settings. I was a peace. The vending machines had lots of variety with great choices, but the restaurant was phenomenal! I ate amazing meals each morning. The ambiance down to the music and decor were perfect. The staff was so friendly from the receptionist, valet drivers, and everyone else. Each person I past by spoke and was friendly. I think this has to be one of my best hotel experiences by far because the customer service was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Reva Slone: This hotel is amazing! It is steps from the Capitol and has a modern tech aesthetic. I recently stayed 3 nights with a group of 48 students. We had some charter bus issues and needed a place to stow luggage from checkout until about 8 PM. The entire staff went out of their way with their kindness and hospitality allowing our group not only to stow luggage in their conference area but also to rest from the day’s adventures, order food, play video games, and make ourselves at home. If you are looking for a clean, convenient, modern, well operated hotel near the National Mall, do yourself a favor and book this one! You will not be disappointed.

Miranda Brown: The aesthetic of the room really made this worth it. The parking garage (which is a surprise $50 a night) is VERY tight. The room wasn’t large. Lights for bathroom, bedroom, and sink are linked so they will all turn on, or all turn off. No privacy for the toilet and shower so you better be comfortable with your sleeping buddy. Lastly, there was no microwave neither in the room, nor the lobby. Overall, Great area! Cute room! It’s got it’s pros and cons but we enjoyed our stay.

Naba Siddiq: I was weary with some of the mixed reviews but I stayed here while attending a conference across the street and I was very impressed! The cleanliness was GREAT. My room was sparkling clean in every corner and crevice. Love the technology in the rooms where you can control the lights and adjust the bed. Loved the mirrors, the sink, shower and everything in between. Very modern and l loved the ambience the “relax” mode of the lights give! The bed is huge and very comfy and there are charging stations built into the bed and reading lights on both sides of the bed. A mirror above the bed and a full body mirror next to the sink. Huge TV built into the wall that’s also backlit so once again, the ambience is amazing especially at night time. The room cleaning service is top notch. My room would be ready brand new for me every day and they even went above and beyond to make sure all my things (that I had messily thrown around including my shoes) were in order and perfectly aligned and organized for me each time I came back to my room. Love the huge comfy pillows and everything worked great with no issues! The coffee bar in the hall is also a vibe. The only con is the walls aren’t too sound proof so you can hear people around you if they’re loud enough but that’s a small con to me. If I visit any place that has an option to stay at a YOTEL again, I’m taking it!

Lindsay Knudsen: Modern, sleek, and most importantly- clean! I am always wary of trying new hotels but I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel! Not only were the staff so incredibly friendly, but the rooms and lobby are nice too and clean. The pool was a nice touch, clean with an attached bar. Overall, very happy with the facility.

Niya: I actually enjoyed my stay here. Whether you have a regular room or a suite the rooms are very nice and spacious. They have LED lights great for gen z lmao. And their staff in my opinion is very nice and helpful. I will say the request for an extra towel might take a little bit of time but they come.. eventually.

Hampton Inn Washington-Downtown-Convention Center: what do users think?

Kelly Mitchell: The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The cleanliness of the hotel was superb. I am very finicky and pay close attention to details when it comes to cleanliness, especially at hotels and restaurants. I didn’t see as much as a stray hair in my room. The location is also great. 20-25 min walking distance from most major attractions. I look forward to staying again.

Tory L: Mr. Perry was a great help after a mix up on my end left some colleagues doubled up and me room-less the first night of the trip. He was fast and very understanding. Everyone had all their rooms straightened out and I was checked in to a beautiful room. The room was large, well stocked with everything I needed, clean, and breakfast was available for a long period of time which was nice to accommodate early or late risers. Thanks again for all the help!

Laura Hefferin: Mike at the front desk was the best. He gave good advice for navigating around the city and even provided an excellent recommendation for dinner. I really appreciate his kindness. Hope Hampton is aware of what a gem he is! I also found the staff running the breakfast area worked very hard and kept up with the large crowd each morning. The hotel is in a great location. Short walk to the metro and there was a circulator bus stop across the street, by the little park.

Mila: I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They accommodated me earlier than typical check in time. They also had freebies on the counters and maps of the city. The room was nice and it had a refrigerator. The breakfast was good. They provided a hot and cold breakfast. Gloves to use and hand sanitizer. There were also wipes. Check in and check out were easy. They also held my bag after checkout so I could explore some more.

Holiday Inn Washington Capitol - Natl Mall, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Wei Y: My recent experience at the hotel in mid March was quite pleasant. The room was clean, decor was fairly up-to-date, beds were comfortable (subjectively), and the bathroom was fairly well maintained. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, this includes the cleaning crew (on the 8th floor) who would give you anything you asked for. The pandemic is not over yet, so I liked the idea of not having staff coming in every day. People complaint about the thin wall, water pressure and the train. I did experience all of the above. The thin wall didn’t bother me that much, it’s usually due to loud neighbors. For the water pressure, I just waited for the others to finish their use then take my turn, the place was packed at the time and everyone was taking shower at the same time. As for the train, the hotel unfortunately situated right next to the track so unless you are a heavy sleeper, the noises could bother some of the guests on the east side. We ended up switching to the other side and it was great! The food at the restaurant downstairs was also surprising. The taste and the price were comparable to the nearby places, if not cheaper. A Starbucks was also attached to the hotel but they do close somewhat early. As for the parking, we didn’t have a car, but once I parked at a hotel in downtown Chicago, it was over $100 a night. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will stay again for sure!

M B: This was our first time staying at this hotel and it completely served its purpose. First the location - it is across the street from the department of Education and one block from the Air & Space Museum. There is a Starbucks on the corner of the hotel and several restaurants on the same block including a McDonalds. This hotel has a parking garage under it making parking very convenient. Parking fee is charged by the hotel per day and we had in and out privileges throughout our stay. There are two restaurants inside the hotel and a small convenience store next to the front desk. The lobby is more upscale than I thought it would be and staff was nice. We got into our room the first night later in the evening and our AC wasn’t working. We called the front desk and within minutes, a maintenance worker was at our door. He changed out the wall thermostat which didn’t resolve the issue and called for assistance to bring a new AC unit. They changed that out within minutes and discovered that there must be a wiring challenge that would take more time to resolve. They contacted the front desk, got us a new room and they walked it to make sure it was in perfect working condition before bringing us the new key cards. They offered to help us move but we were fine getting ourselves to the new room. This was the only challenge we experienced during our stay and these two maintenance technicians were absolutely wonderful. We forgot to get their names but they were on duty Friday, May 20, 2022 in the late evening. Nothing is a short walk in Washington DC as buildings are huge and the distance is deceiving. Every day we walked more than 7 miles and at the end of each day I walked back to the hotel to pick up the car to pick up my Mom to keep her from having to walk back. All throughout Washington DC, there are bicycles and electric scooters available to rent electronically on the spot to make the walking shorter and to get places quicker. We didn’t use them this time but they are a great benefit if needed. We did not eat in the hotel, but it is wonderful that the restaurants were there if we wanted to. This is a pretty perfect hotel to stay in when visiting Washington DC and we will most likely stay here on our next visit and recommend that you consider it as well. We didn’t take photos of the hotel, but it was very nice, clean, comfortable beds and we felt safe.

Hyatt Place Washington Dc/White House: what do users think?

Erin Miller: beautiful hotel room. very clean, and amazing breakfast with all vegetarian options. the ladies at the front desk were super nice and informative. the valet was great too, I left my phone in the car by accident and he gladly retrieved our car for us so I could get it. thanks so much!

Catherine McGuckin: Wonderful Staff And Convenient Location!! This is a well-managed property and highly recommend! Your staff should be commended. Your valet men are hard working and made sure my son’s truck was out the night before he was to report to USMC Quantico. Thank you gentlemen!! Miss T! Thank you!!! Miss T saved the day ensure my son’s shirt was dry before his departure! You were so pleasant and we’re so grateful! Great property, nice variety at breakfast, rooftop bar was great! Easy walking distance to Metro!

Elizabeth Towe: Just completed a 5 night stay for our vacation to Washington DC and while I struggled to pick a hotel for us to stay at, I’m SO glad I chose this one. From the moment we checked in the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is so clean, the bed was SO COMFORTABLE - like sleeping on a cloud. Huge bonus for us was that they have Chromecast on the TV so you can watch your Netflix and other streaming services. The free breakfast was outstanding. It was different every day and they had such a nice variety of options. Location was convenient and within 30 min walk to National Mall and other attractions. Only a 5-10 min walk to the Metro if you choose to go that route like we did several times as well. I do want to note that the only disappointing thing we encountered was one night we heard what sounded like a band very close to the hotel playing drums and music til close to midnight. We used a sound machine app on our phones to drown out the noise so we could go to sleep. I HIGHLY recommend you end your hotel search now and book this hotel for Washington DC!
