Washington International Student Center: what do users think?

Hernán Cortés: I really enjoyed how nice the staff was when I visited. This place is located in a fun strip of the city and one can find plenty to do here. Within the complex of the building, there are rooms to stay as it is a hostel. Cheap price that worked for me, but the spacing was just too restrictive. Plenty of bathrooms, though! And apparently free breakfast if you know when to be up for it.

Sea: My two star hotel was nicer than this place. Bathrooms were so gross that I didn’t shower my whole trip (gross I know, but that’s how gross the bathrooms were). Kitchen was equally as gross, I chose to eat granola bars instead of eating at the hostel. I couldn’t find the entrance either, I had to ask someone working nearby where it was. She told me it wasn’t nice but it got the job done, and I agree. Would never go there again though.

Ryan Bamsey: Very good hostel and at a great price! Steve who runs the hostel was very friendly and couldn’t help us enough when it came to losing some luggage. Couldn’t recommend this hostel more!

Edward Cohen: Mr Steve, is a very kind and funny man. He is very well versed in the history of the area, as well as the history of baseball! The area is perfect if you are looking for food and fun. The hostel has a very warm and homey environment, the staff are incredibly helpful.

7am nutrition: Please do yourself a favor and don't choose this place to save some bucks. It might very well ruin your trip. The main guy there is just so unprofessional.

Emily Rueber: Pros -private room's bed was clean and the clothing rack, chairs and desk were clean -location proximity to metro and coffee shops -price Cons -no cleaning materials were made available to clean kitchen surfaces and microwaves (which were filthy). I think it would be easy for them to provide a diluted bleach solution and paper towels to wipe down surfaces with during the pandemic -neither did the bathroom, that I used, did not have any cleaning materials made available to sanitize surfaces -the fridge was packed to the gills so it was hard to find a place to store food -no one was wearing a mask in common areas except for myself and my partner

Yash Patel: Pros: - Helpful owner (helped me parallel park, call me a day before my booking to work out parking, called me after I left to see if everything was good) - Fantastic hostel location (next to McDonalds, pizza shops, Subway, Starbucks, Seven Eleven, CVS, Bus/Metro Stations, 2 miles from major monuments) Cons: - Super small lockers - Lacks cleanliness - Owner has not updated in description that he is not providing free breakfast for over a year - Owner has also not updated in description about parking problems around the hostel

Hernan Cortes: Great customer service. Nestled in between shops. A little too cozy as far as spacing. Not bad enough to dock a star.

Néfertiti Nah: It's a dirty place. That's what I will remember the most, especially the kitchen where we're supposed to eat. It was not a good experience at all. It is also very noisy because of the neighborhood. You have music going on all through the night. There are one or two people among the staff who are nice, but others are not really welcoming. The breakfast is not really what you could call a breakfast so don't get excited about it (frozen bread for instance). I will never stay there again, even though it's cheap.

Chris Dwan: I've travelled quite a bit and stayed in many hostels and this one is by far the worst. Upon arriving I was initially told that my reservation had been lost which is not surprising as their system seems to consist of three messy notebooks rather than a computer. I was then told that I would have to take whichever bed was free as they are first come first serve, not an issue at all but it was confusing when I asked to switch beds to a lower bunk (after a roommate had checked out) and was told (quite harshly) that I wasn't allowed. The building itself is in desperate need of a thorough cleaning and fresh a coat of paint and on top of this the employees are outwardly rude and standoffish especially the owner. They get some points for the low cost and good location but overall this is an abysmal hostel. I understand that this is meant to be a budget accommodation but no low cost is worth this, you couldn't pay me to stay there again.

HighRoad Hotel Washington DC: what do users think?

Kelsey Carreiro: Great location...plenty to do/see/eat....nice walk to the metro (15 mins)/ walk to attractions (30 mins) walk is worth it!!! You can also ride a bike or scooter to locations. Hostel has two full kitchens, plenty of bathrooms, clean bed and sheets to sleep on. Decent for the price.....staff I'd helpful/friendly!!!

Simon Cardenas: Friendly staff, good location, beds are okay. Im definitely staying here if I come back

Nora: I’ve been here last February before the pandemic and I really enjoyed staying here the price so convenient and the staff were so nice and friendly they made sure that I get whatever I needed and they were so helpful and happy to help I honestly felt like home here and this is the only hostel I like among all hostels I’ve been at. Back then they served breakfast every day and there were some activities every week. Somehow everyone I met there was lovely and friendly we had so fun hearing each other stories and future plans. I’m so thankful for this experience. Also about the location it’s so nice there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops in the area almost one block away. I highly recommend it.

Ellen SC: Such a lovely hostel. Was made to feel so welcome, like I was coming home. Beds were comfy and hostel was quiet enough to get a good nights sleep but also lots of social areas. Would definitely recommend!

Sarah: This is the nicest, friendlist, most thoughtful hostel I have ever stayed in. The comforter you sleep with is legitimately cozy and nice. Staff comes and cleans the place regularly and I was really heartened to see that fellow guest pitch in to try and take care of and respect the place. Staff are super accommodating and have thought through most things you will need. Bus schedules, TV channel menus, where to eat, directions on how to store your food (and fellow guest respect each others!). I was allowed to store my luggage in the lobby area on day of check out, which really helped when I scheduled a White house tour before my flight and wasn't allowed to take anything with me. They allowed me to use the first floor when I came back to wait for my flight. Everything about it felt like coming home. It was cozy and comfortable and I was around really great people. Older people had long conversations with younger folks and I met people from all over the world. The showers are nicer than mine at home! Ear plugs and night masks in the lobby and tea are a good touch. I also really appreciated the quiet hours at night. Also, the street they are on is amazing and has nearly every nationality of food you could possibly want. There is also a nice health foods market on the same block. One small suggestion! If there were more clothing hooks in the downstairs bathrooms to hang clothes while you shower and some better mirrors in some of the upstairs bathrooms, it would be great! Thank you for a great stay I will be back!

Emily Wakwe: Surprisingly excellent! 👏🏾 Only request is that mirrors or a mirror needs to be in the room.

ALI DAL: Wait.. what. Best $$ I've spent in awhile! Let me tell you why. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff. The lobby is as cozy as it gets! Antique yet modern with lots of amenities! Everything is available. Kitchen is free to use. Lots of bathrooms. I've never waited to go to the restroom. My room was small. Only beds and each guest gets a locker. That's a hostel so it's acceptable. Not to mention the affordablility. No complains here. I was looking for a hostel experience and I found it. I'd come back if I'm in town again.
Response: Wow, thank you so much for making our day!! The Management team here at the hostel are all world-travelers and have stayed in countless hostels. We compiled all the things that make the most comfortable and special stay for you - a cozy living room you actually want to be in, a clean and spacious environment, and honestly, never having to wait for the bathroom!! (We have an abundance of them!) See you the next time you're in D.C.! -Miyuki at the HighRoad Hostel DC

Lauren: Loved my stay at this hostel. The location is beautiful in a very lively neighborhood. A 5min walk gets you to the bus stop. It’s about a 20 min ride to the national mall and DCA. Spacious and clean rooms. The beds were comfortable although very squeaky. I had a room on the third floor and had the bathroom to my self every morning. Very friendly staff. Went out Saturday night with people from the hostel and had an incredible time. If you’re a solo traveler going to DC and thinking about booking any kind of accommodation I recommend this hostel.
Response: Hi Lauren, Thanks so much for a detailed review of the HighRoad Hostel DC. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed our beautiful neighborhood of Adams Morgan, our hostel amenities, and our Saturday night event, Bar Night! However, I'm sorry to hear that your bunk was squeaky. I can say with confidence that our beds are typically not noisy. We will do a spot check of the beds first thing tomorrow to ensure all beds do not squeak!! Please let us know if you have any other suggestions for us! We are always looking forward to guest comments to improve and provide the best service and experience for our guests. Safe travels and see you soon! -Miyuki at the HighRoad Hostel DC Team

Camryn King: My stay was AMAZING! the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating! All of the general areas, bathrooms, and my room was extremely clean and up to par. I really really loved staying here. I would suggest to anyone who may think about staying in a bigger room with more beds that your privacy may be worth the little extra fees. I stayed in a 14 bed mixed gender room and I don’t have any complaints, I just think I would prefer a more expensive room next time for more privacy 😊

Jeff Martin: This hostel is awesome! I’m a teacher, I brought 15 students here. The staff was incredibly responsive, helpful, prompt, and professional in advance of arrival. We were greeted by staff and shown to our rooms in a very welcoming manor. They were nice to me and my students. The showers are clean. the beds are very very comfortable and do not squeak when you turn over in them. The vide is hip and fun. The location is in the heart of the fun to be had in Adams Morgan. I will definitely recommend this hostel to others and will definitely plan to come back (without students) to have fun with this hostel as my home base!

DC International Hostel 1: what do users think?

Konstantin Lakshin: Excellent. Good location that lets you explore the less touristy side of Washington, friendly staff, a wide variety of guests, both nomadic types of all ages and families, from all over the world. Nice kitchen, and a Giant supermarket within an easy walking distance. Clean. Unexpectedly nice, although shared, facilities. Also, you can see that they care and keep working on making the place even better. The only caveat: BEWARE OF TRAVEL SITES that advertise and reserve private rooms that DC International Hostel does not have at this time. Yet, when I arrived there with a single room reservation made through an airline as one of those package/add-on deals, Farid (hostel manager) was very friendly and efficient. He immediately offered me an entire four-bed room. Kudos!

Olga Lucía: I highly recommend this hostel for the extremely helpfull staff, cleaness and excellent location, near to a train station, markets and you can go walking to Chinatown and Federal Triangle from the hostel. I could rest well in the bed I had. I had to work quite lot in my staying and I found the most considered people there, and helped me to be safe and seize the time I got in Washington.

Henry Eve: Worst place I have ever stayed in. I'm not sure where the staff are from, but they're embarrassing for a business and terrible. The place itself is disgusting to the core. They're very cheap on electricity that the AC is barely on. There barely is a fan running. It was very hot. Avoid this place.

E S: It's a hostel, bathrooms are dirty. Rooms are close but the $$$ is worth it. It was cheap. Definitely okay for a day, not two tho.

Hasan Gunduz: Worst in America. Stay away from this place unless you want your vacation ruined. Ugly decoration, small rooms, mixed showers, no supplies in the bathrooms, unfriendly stuff. You will feel unsafe here. Not recommended.

Darien Persaud: This would be worth more if the rooms were 100% private with nicer accommodations. Its too cramped. - coed bathroom is clean, needs maintenance - poorly ventilated room; roommate was clean but the units are super cramped - plastic beds - gossiping staff could be overheard in the morning - owner FARID was friendly - on site laundry - soda/snack machine I think this facility is lacking from its construction era; its time to renovate. Too expensive for what it is. I was never shown or told about any terrace.

Yumi Violet: Where to even begin? This was my first experience ever staying at a hostel. I am really glad I chose Capitol Comfort Hostel. The staff was exceptional. When booking they answered all questions, gave me advice on where to park (parking in DC is a bit of a task), places to eat. Any question I had, they answered. When arriving they were very welcoming and showed my friend and I around the hostel. What I really liked about this place is that there were so many options to chose from, having the female only rooms is a major plus in my opinion, that is the option I chose. The rooms were small but they had everything you would need, I was not expecting linen, but they had fresh linen on the bunks. They had a good sized kitchen and bathrooms. Very clean place. I highly recommend this establishment, respectful caring staff, clean place and super affordable. Other tenants were great also. I was extremely pleased and if I am ever back in DC I know where I will be staying. Thank you so much Capitol Comfort. Thanks for making my trip to DC a little more pleasant.

Ezz Nb: Very uncomfortable beds, showers have barely any pressure, very poor customer service, price is low and location is good but spend 10 more dollars and stay somewhere else cuz the place is a DUMP.

Cynthia Onyilimba: After a rocky start due to misunderstandings on the side of my German travel mate they were very quick to make up for any upset there may have been. The staff were really friendly but one was kind of lecherous too sometimes and made comments about my appearance which made me a little uncomfortable. The beds were standard / good for a hostel and it was a very good price.

Jonathan Weber: I was looking for a cheap accomodation at a central place in Washington for a reasonable price - and finally that is what I got when I stayed here. You cannot expect high-class rooms and beds for the price that you are paying here - you get a bed in a dorm (mixed rooms, mixed restrooms, +kitchen) in an "old" house. But: Everything was clean, there were no big problems with the reservation, booking, payment or stay and you can meet nice people in the hostel. The staff was not the friendliest one and neither reservation nor booking/check-in were on a professional basis where you can feel assured that you get what you want at the end. One star less than five for that!

Dc International Hostel 2: what do users think?

Angus Bezzina: I never write reviews, but I feel compelled to write this to warn other people not to stay here. My stay was one of the worst experiences of my life. I can concede a lot given this place had an average review to begin with, but during my time here, I saw more rats than I did people, my food was taken and to cap it off, on the third night of my stay, they booked somebody else into my bed so that when I came back I had nowhere to sleep. I tried calling reception multiple times to resolve this, but they never answered and so I spent the night trying to sleep in the lobby. When I asked them to refund the rest of my stay the next day, they accused me of lying and yelled at me. They still have not refunded the money. Honestly after my experience there I would rather sleep on the street than in that hostel and if it was possible I would give them a negative rating.

Maria Gama: The man on the front desk was extremely rude to me and other people waiting to check in. He could not speak english very well and Apparently they overbooked the place and simply was telling people to walk away (in the rudest way) even though they PAID AHEAD. This one couple was from Chicago I felt bad. Even though this guy was extremely rude I had to stay because all the other hotel rooms in DC were booked and the few available was crazy expensive. All the other guests seem to be homeless people this one lady was talking to herself the entire night it was the scariest thing. Place was dirty appliances were dirty/broken, no dishes no utensils. I am never going back there, don't recommend it. filthy hostel and rude manager.

Carson Peck: Similar to a homeless shelter. The service is terrible and the rooms are just as bad. I reserved my room hours in advance and checked in and made my bed. When I came back to my bed that night some guy was sleeping in it. So I said screw it and had to drive 3 hours to my house. You’re better off pitching a tent in the middle of DC than staying here.

Siran Skill: Cockroach in the room, humidity on the wall of the closet, not enough shower (1 for 12 people), they're not cleaned often obviously. The kitchen is small, no place to hang out outside of the dor and finally, the bed make noise each time you moce and are hard as he'll. Clearly the worst stay I've ever had ever.

Jul Athen: Good simple hostel. You have everything you need. The kitchen has no cooking options but a microwave. The reception is often without staff :D one bathroom for eight persons..

Louisa Wu: You get what you pay for. I stayed with some lovely women which was luck of the draw. Would have preferred if there were lockers for valuables.

Nathalie: First of all, there were hairs on my bed, the bathroom is too dirty...at the night I was sleeping alone and someone opened the door and turn on the light at 12pm, who left some things and took some stuff into the closeth, and I realized he was a homeless then left the room, after an hour he came back and doing somethings in the closeth, I was so nervous, and he prepared a bed next to my bed and sleep, in this moment I decided to take my stuff to go out the room, I didn´t know what to do, because It was at 2am after that I waited on the first floor for 5 hours, no one in there... I saw a mouse and cockroach in the kitchen and when I came out that place, I saw two homeless pleople sleeping outside.

Kyle Koala: As a business owner, it is your responsibility to make sure the prices online are accurate for booking. Upon getting inside, I was told the actual price was about $10 more, than what I had it booked for. And that annoyed me. It annoys me when I'm told what something costs. I pay that cost, and then it's like, actually never mind it costs more than that. Do better. If the slew of one-star Google Maps reviews didn’t already creep me out enough, there's even a creepy crowd of people hanging around outside of it, saying creepy things. There are quite a few other listings on the HostelWorld app. Maybe try out a capsule hotel instead of this, if you're considering staying the night in this city.

Katsiaryna Ramaniuk: Horrible! 0/5Dirty hostel, with random people just from the street roaming in the common area without even a place booked, the staff is never at his place, last but not least bed bugs!!! Respect yourself, never even come near this place.

Nick Cruise: It was very poor. I have traveled and vacationed over 30 countries. First off I left an email saying that I won't arrive till 1030pm because my flight arrives at 9pm and to get there was another hour or so. I asked to have me accommodate or leave the keys for me when I arrive.I get there at the hostel and they did not have a key or room for me. So the next day, when I tried to get my money refunded for the night or at least to get a free night, they still would not accommodate me for that. The old guy at the front desk, was very rude and had no sense of customer service. He could barely speak English and so there was a language barrier as well. The only good thing about the place was it was cheap. I would not recommend the place to anyone. I should have read the reviews about the bed bugs and other bad reviews before coming in to this one.

U Street Hostel: what do users think?

Lance Russo: Let me start by saying I've stayed here in the past in my travels and loved it. I'm also not aware if owner knows how his guests gets lied to by staff. They canceled my reservations and charged my card ( they still have gave my money back.) All because they thought I was homeless. I was embarrassed I live in Jersey and have a home there. I love the artistic vibe here in DC and loving community. I even joined a local non profit group there temperance alley because the community is wonderful. For when I visit. Just cause a man travels and has mental disorders like myself. And chooses to explore all lives beauty. Does not make him homeless. They hurt my feeling so bad. And it's a shame cause I'm sure they didn't realize just cause I'm different does not give them the right to discriminate. The hostel is gorgeous but mistakes happen. Besides calling me homeless and hurting my feeling so bad I cried. The place is awesome. I'm still waiting for owner to call me. And my refund but the money isn't the issue it's my feelings that are the issue. So if your different in any way or beat to your own drum or if your happy being you. Do t go here they are not kind. My name is Lance Russo I'm not happy about the discrimination and absurd comments made by staff. The owner still has not called
Response: We work very hard to accommodate all of our guests at the u street hostel. The safety is of utmost concern. We cannot tolerate verbal and physical abuse towards our guests and staff, as well property damage; and thus due to your behaviour, we could not allow you to stay.

Clarissa G: Stayed one night with a friend in the private two-bed room. Check in was easy, room had everything we needed. I do wish the bathroom was a little better enclosed (it had a glass wall all around but the glass was only frosted beginning partially up). But the fact that they managed to fit so many amenities into the space so efficiently was very impressive. Room was very clean. Definitely would recommend to travelers on a budget. Would visit again.
Response: This is lovely to read ❤️ thank you so much for taking the time!

Brendan Li: It was definitely cool to experience a capsule hotel in the heart of America's capital. That being said however, these are not genuine capsules like you'd find in capsule hotels in Asia. 2 of the walls and the ceiling are plastic molded sheets, and the floor and back wall are wooden panels. There is no sliding and locking door, only a privacy curtain. In other words, it's anything but soundproof or secure. The control panel has a dial to control fan strength as well as three buttons; one for white light, one for blue light, and a master power switch. The control panel and screen are actually a pane of glass with a sticker, so aside from these buttons, it's just for display. What I found extremely inconvenient, however, was that the two USB ports do not actually work so I was not able to charge my phone or other electronics in the pod. I had to instead find wall sockets around the hostel and charge my phone during the day. It may not be like capsule hotels you'd find in Asia, but it's definitely different and cool, and not something you'd normally find in North America. The building is right next to the U Street metro station (yellow and green lines) which is convenient. Place has a cozy atmosphere, and pods are a nice place to rest your head. Overall, it was a good experience and one that I'd recommend.
Response: Thank you so much! For sure - we were worried about a fully closing capsule, as to United States market this is a brand new thing (as far as I'm aware we're still the only capsule hostel on the entire East Coast). It's surely not soundproof, and the idea is that it's a huge improvement over a regular bunk bed, something that is present in 99.9% of hostels in USA. We're happy to provide something much better, to elevate your experience! We've fixed the USB issues, a lose wire in the back was found - sorry about that! All units are back to 100%. Cheers!

Zach Morris: Located just off of U street which is filled with bars and restaurants it easy to check in, the staff are super friendly and the capsules are comfortable. The coffee is some of the best I've drank and the music played gives of a really nice vibe throughout the hostel and coffee shop. The owner is such a genuine fella too all in all a great experience there and I would stay again if I'm ever back in DC.

jcksn bggr: Thank you D for the accommodation. Ideal location being right next to a metro entrance. Very busy area with plenty of dining. Balconies with decent view, Washington monument rises on the horizon. Only complaint is there isn't a designated place to secure your things aside from the pod which is not secure otherwise. A locker would have been nice. Would have paid extra for it had they been available.
Response: Getting lockers - finally found the ones we like - non industrial looking and silent with public keypads that can be put in and taken out - similar to the gym ones!

Sara Montgomery: I believe this hostel has a lot of potential - it’s in a great location, the price is lower than most other places in central DC, and the staff are very friendly. However a little more attention needs to be paid to some of the basics. Firstly, the bottom capsule beds are quite uncomfortable, made up of a thin memory foam mattress of top of a flat metal slab. I think adding a second memory foam mattress or getting thicker mattresses would make a huge difference in comfort levels. Secondly, one of the steps going up to one of the top capsules was broken in our room, making it quite noisy and unstable to step on. Thirdly, there was only one paper towel dispenser on the 3rd floor where we were and it ran out of paper towels on our first day there and was not refilled at all during my 4 day stay leaving no way to dry my hands. Finally, just a note to other travellers that this hostel also lacks a kitchen (which we knew going in) and they are not currently serving breakfast due to Covid-19 (which is understandable, but many third-party websites still advertise breakfast). Overall our stay was fine but not amazing given these factors. Given the location and price I believe it has potential to be a great backpackers hostel if they worked on ensuring beds are comfortable and that everything in the rooms/bathrooms is functional and well-stocked.
Response: thank you for your input! To address some concerns: we hear you on the mattresses, and going forward as they get replaced, we swap them out for slightly thicker pads. There's a limit to how high we can go, as physically to clean the capsules we have to remove the mattress, and it's an extremely complicated task if it's too heavy to lift up for our cleaning staff (so that has to be considered and we thought we chose a good compromise for most guests). The steps are "loose" like that on purpose, to allow for a "wider" step area, and thus float around in every direction, while still sitting on a base - sorry if that was a worry. Yes - everything had been refilled! There are shipping delays, as everyone knows, and some basic cleaning items are constantly delayed. Breakfast is not something we advertise at all, except for some third party sites that will simply not remove it. However, with the cafe opening up we will have some pastries and breakfasty things on top of the best coffee shop in town, with big discounts for the hostel guests! Thank you!

Shakayla Torrence: This was my first time visiting Washington DC and I can say I wouldn’t have stayed anywhere else. From the time we got there around 9:50, the kind lady at the front desk helped us get checked in, told us where everything was, and guided us to the right direction of parking. The doors were easy to get in if you had the Goki app. I loved that feature. I booked the large pod which was a room shared with about 20 more pods and there was still privacy and people respected quiet hours. Loved the view from the balcony as well. The hostel was clean and organized. The showers were very clean, the bathrooms were clean, and the pods were clean. We loved the location too because we could get to everything in walking distance and the metro transportation was easy to use. All I can say is WOW. We will definitely be back to the U Street Capsule Hostel. Thanks for making my first visit to DC a memorable one. ☺️
Response: WARMS MY HEART!

Faith Y: Solid experience - the location is by some fun shops, bars and restaurants. Glad it’s not a party hostel so people were respectful and quiet at night. The coffee shop is cute as well but a lot of it was automated. You can check in on an app and don’t really need to interact with anyone. The capsule itself is surprisingly spacious (but I am short!) so I could sit up easily and even store my bag inside. It has a big lighted mirror, USB ports, hooks, a folding table and a bright vs low blue lighting options. The opening is just a pull down shade so it’s a step up from bunk beds but you can hear everyone rustling. That said, I found everyone’s baggage to really cramp up the room because the lockers are tiny for valuables only and you have to bring your own lock. One of the bathrooms was out of order and the showers are in the basement but clean and well kept. Not bad for a few nights!

Kyle Koala: I rated this place five stars upon a arrival and checking in, but in the morning I will have to lower my rating. This was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on. It felt like it was a 1/2-inch mattress on a flat and solid floor. A hostel, motel, or hotel first and foremost, is a place to sleep. Has this place nailed the fundamentals before embellishing the atmosphere? Unfortunately not.

Muniba Khan: It's an alright hostel on a budget, and the location is good since it's on U Street and right by the metro. But next time in DC I'll probably opt for a nicer place, even if it's pricier. The staff were really nice and helpful, but I did have a few issues with the place in general. Me and my friend were sharing a 2 person private room, and the sliding door for the bathroom wouldn't close and the sink was so small it was barely functional. Also, it was annoying that only one of us was able to use the Goki app, so I had to constantly check with my friend that the code to the front door didn't change. Another thing is that for some reason there was really loud music playing, even on our floor at the table area. I was working remotely a couple days during my trip and it was honestly so loud it drove me a bit crazy. The check in process was also weird and we were waiting outside in the cold for like 20 minutes with our bags even though we showed up during their open hours. I know that you're supposed to use the Goki app but it wasn't working for us. It's not a bad place, friendly staff, clean place, and nice common spaces. But there were just a lot of small things that made my stay less enjoyable.

Duo Housing: what do users think?

Aidan Garrity: The location and staff are excellent. The included breakfast is nice, even if it's just pancakes. Rooftop patio area great for relaxing and chatting. The hostel has a good social atmosphere. Parking is a bit pricey since it's downtown, but most people visiting this hostel are from overseas so it doesn't matter as much. Would stay here again when visiting DC.

Nicholas Daniel: Great stay for my first time at a hostel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and willing to give recommendations for food in the area. The free pancakes every morning were great. All the facilities were kept clean. The hostel is well located near many attractions. The only real complaint was that the wifi was slow but with 20+ people there that is to be expected.

Aymeric SIREROL: Duo housing is very central and ideally located. I had a great night there. AZ, the owner, is amazing and does mean pancakes. Very highly recommend, that was one of the best hostel experience I had. Little tip: go to the Mexican restaurant right next to it, it's very good!

Dawn Horton: Thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Great for budget travel. Free breakfast of pancakes and lemonade, kitchen stocked with cooking essentials and 3 fridges to store your food. Great seating areas to socialize with travelers from around the globe including a rooftop patio. Centrally located with nightly outings to various nightlife spots in walking distance

Allison Kisch: After spending 5 days in a big hostel in New York with zero social interaction, I had the most amazing time here and I highly recommend it! the owner made us amazing pancakes and recommended this nice bar. They had us get together and we all went out as a group which was refreshing as that was really what was missing in New York!

Sharron Murray: Very nice hostel, good security, clean, great staff. Comfortable bed, plenty of bathrooms. Somewhere nice to relax. No facilities for laundry. Some of the furnishings were worn and could do with replacing. Recommended

Noah Shoaf: Definitely a mixed review. The staff was great and friendly, but not my favorite experience in a hostel. It seemed like there were a lot of people crammed into a small house with limited space. If your goal is to mingle and met people, this might be your place. However, if you want to have some space, unwind, and sleep is not the best place. For example, it was hard to find a place in the house to get work done, or to even charge your phone. Wifi was spotty. My room only had a few outlets and no extension cords. So, it just depends on your goals for your trip. Duo just didn't really fit my foals.

Tessa Stockdale: It’s the cheapest place in D.C but you get what you pay for… the owner is friendly but kept on pressuring us and guests to go out partying with him. We absolutely love to party but weren’t up to it after a big weekend, instead of being cool about it he made us feel lame and I heard him do the same to other guests. The rooms are average and air conditioning is super loud, you’ll need earplugs. The whole place has a weird smell and everything needs maintenance. There’s one tiny kitchen for over 40 people? Don’t bother, worst hostel we’ve stayed in.

Amanda O: I’m shocked by all the good reviews. The rooms are small and so warm it’s uncomfortable, the whole place has a weird smell, specially the lobby with all the shoes. The showers need maintenance, the view upstairs it’s also not really nice… It was very disappointing, I feel nauseous just thinking about it now.

Joseph Mathias: I miss HI Washington DC :( (used to be just a few blocks south of this hostel). As soon as you walk in, the nauseating smell of disgusting shoes fill the air, it smells absolutely rancid! You smell a hint of Febreeze, but it’s not enough to cover up the smell of the shoes. Once you’re inside, the rooms are super warm and cramped, and it smells in the room as well. The towel they give you also has a funny smell (I would encourage you to bring your own). WiFi barely worked. Breakfast food was lemonade and pancakes (weird), and the pancakes were really dry, but hey, they’re free. They need to add more showers and bathrooms, and definitely need to update/modernize them. Half the showers have faulty shower heads, and the know falls off on some of them. Staff also tended to be extremely picky about who the rules applied to. I saw quite a few people walking around the house with shoes, and staff said nothing. There was a gentleman who reeked of weed, and staff didn’t say anything. In conclusion, you get what you’re paying for. Would I stay here again? Definitely not. I hope they take these critiques, along with others, and apply them.

Duo Nomad: what do users think?

ghe rahadi: Located in strategic area. Comfortable bunk bed, clean bathroom, cozy rooftop, free to use kitchen and fridge. Some books and board games available in lounge room. Pancakes for breakfast, tea coffee all day. Friendly staff. Worth the price..Satisfying hostel experience. If you're lucky like me, you'll end up having the room for yourself

QueeNia AsheeMa'at QueeNia Of Many Trades: My first time staying at a Hostel so I'm a newbie! What I Loved: James was super accommodating! Our trip down to Washington DC had a few hiccups and he was so patient with us as we updated our ETA. Once we arrived he received us as nicely as he would have if we had showed up on time except probably he was more quieter as to not disturb others. The room has two bunk beds and I was grateful it was just my friend and I in the room. It was very warm and cozy. Maria was great near our check out time. She wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay and that we had enough pancakes for breakfast. She told us where we might find vegan options and gave us directions to Market Street. Quick walk to the Capital. Metered Parking in front except on Sundays. What You Need to Know: We weren't able to cook when we arrived because the kitchen closed at 10 PM. My friend said the other hostels don't have that restriction. Off-putting for her. No dressers/nightstand/table to put things in or on. Had to Charge phones on the floor. Shower does not really get hot. So we had to be quick in and out. My friend had allergies so we had to leave the door open because it was too warm in the room for her. Very limited breakfast: Pancakes, tea, coffee, lemonade (mix). No Vegan Option was off-putting for my vegan co-traveler. Also, I didn't travel with children this time but if I did we wouldn't be able to come here because it's adults only.

Joseph Mathias: This is probably one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in DC. The staff are super nice and welcoming, always making sure your visit and stay is enjoyable and going out of their way to make you feel welcomed. All the ladies working here are angels. I was scheduled to arrive late at night, and Jessica waited for me and checked me in when I arrived at night. The hostel is in a very nice neighborhood (Capitol Hill). Although it’s not close to the tourist sites, the Metro is 2 blocks away, you’re right by a grocery store (Trader Joes), and surrounded by great bars and restaurants. The wifi worked on all the floors (no spotty signal, it was strong on all 3 floors!) and rooms were super cool (a respite from the scorching DC heat). The rooftop patio was nice, and the outdoor patio. Delicious chocolate chip pancakes were served every morning, with coffee. TV had majority of the streaming services on it to keep you occupied, lounge on the 3rd floor had books and 2 computers. The only complaint I have is that the bathrooms are kinda in a very awkward spot (located smack dab in the living room). Anyone can see and hear you walk to and from the bathroom (and what you do inside), and when you walk out, the whole living room can see. The men’s showers are also next to the living room/kitchen, and anyone walking by the kitchen can see everything going on in the showers, making it slightly uncomfortable. Rooms were a bit cramped and small. But overall, the hostel was very clean and modern.

Ryan Young: Honest review. If you value security find another hostel There was definitely some positives. The staff were amazing, and the beds were fairly comfy. That's about where the positives ended unfortunatly for me I was unable to feel secure inside the hostel. The outer front doors stay unlocked the whole time, and the front doors, while locked have a hole in the middle for sliding documents through, that could fit a small arm and someone could easily just open the door from inside. The rooms themselves have zero locks on them (completely unacceptable in my opinion). They do have lockers, but they are all on the second floor (dorms on all 3 floor) and definitely not big enough to fit a larger backpack, and not enough for every guest, so there is a chance you won't get a locker and have to leave your stuff in an unlocked room. The rooms were too small, with barely any room between the beds. You will feel like a sardine can in the rooms, and I have zero idea how it passed fire code inspection. The men's shower area has no lock on the door and it's just off of the kitchen. I'd hate someone to be eating and get an eyeful they don't want to see while eating. When I was there only one overhead light in the bathroom was working, the other was flickering, generally meaning electrical problems, and apparently it had been like this for a few days. There is rust all around the base of the bathroom light fixtures, meaning they aren't meant to be used in a moisture rich environment. All in all, would NEVER stay here again, or reccomend to anyone unless you are in a real pinch. Even then sleep with all your important stuff basically attached to you so you can feel secure. Unacceptable for the price I paid for the hostel. I did not feel safe or overly comfortable. But as I said, with all that, the staff truly are wonderful! They are super helpful and accommodating and great fun to hang around.

Nicholas Giarraffa: Let me first off thank every staff member here your service was excellent!. Everyone here is super friendly! Now that being said let me tell you about my experience. I was in town for a festival but hotel rooms for 2 nights were 500 plus dollars and this hostel rated one of the top hostels in DC and for the price of 65 dollars a night you just can not beat it. Pancakes in the morning were delicious the bathrooms and showers were perfect! There was always and i mean always coffee ready to drink. The neighborhood is safe and parking was easy to find in the neighborhood. The only thing i regret is that i didn't spend more time here. I loved cooking dinner eating with people who you would never meet staying in a hotel. These people are from all around the world. Now i understand staying in a room with other people may be strange at first. Take it from me it was my first time in a hostel! Its not that weird when you wake up in the morning you will be smiling because you just saved hundreds of dollars. But if your going with friends try to go with enough people so you all share 1 room!. The mattress were very comfy the AC was ice cold in the rooms clea and the pillows were really soft but firm! I also would like to note that there is a 2 star review on here and that person still goes there when he visits. He was there when i was there and he was just angry that day and doesnt know how to erase the message So if your short on cash and need somewhere clean and safe to stay or you just want to save a ton of money YOU MUST STAY HERE. Btw the neighborhood is fine to walk around on at night, Its capital hill and it doesnt get much safer! I cant wait to come back for next years Cannibus Festival!!!! Last thing is they have a security code system so strange people can not just walk into the hostel

Dr. Yaw Ansong Jnr: Avoid. They overcharged and have yet to refund. Good luck trying to use the 'toilet' that's right next to the 'living room'. The bed was uncomfortable and right next to a major street. The place is in shambles.

Jeni Sweet: Hostel located at 1010 Penn Ave SE, not NW! Good, clean hostel w nice staff.

Beth Early: This place is in a great location, near Eastern Market which you should check out on weekends! Also, only 5 minute walk from the Metro station which makes it easier to get around. The hostel is clean, they make pancakes every morning for guests, and the beds are comfortable. Good security, too. As a female solo traveler, I felt very comfortable and I'd recommend it.
Response: We appreciate your stay with us Beth! We thank you for the review, and come back anytime!

gustavo “Gus” rivas-ortiz: Good customer service, breakfast okay, little small for the amount of ppl visiting, amazing location, food and transportation close by.

Emily Linares: Even though the place looks good I would say it is not appropriate for ladies, I was given the room next to the entrance door. Since I wasn’t feeling comfortable nor safe I decided to leave 10 minutes after, I was told I would have a refund by Monday, however, today is Tuesday and I don’t have my money back and they also charge me one night. I wouldn’t recommend this place, once you have a problem or need a refund you won’t have a good answer or service.

Days Inn by Wyndham Washington DC/Connecticut Avenue: what do users think?

Kelly Cunningham: The reviews do don’t do this place justice. It was great for the price! The room was extremely clean, beds were very comfortable, and it had everything we needed for our stay. Yes, it was a little outdated, but you’re not paying $500 a night to stay here. Also, parking is only $25 a night On Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday-Thursday have free parking. There is no full continental breakfast, but there is coffee and muffins.. BUT, you’re in DC go enjoy breakfast at a good diner!
Response: Dear Kelly, We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your time with us at Days Inn Washington DC, and we're happy that our clean, comfortable accommodations left a positive impression on you. Please come back to visit us again the next time you're in the area!

Lauren Klos: Although the hotel didn’t seem like much from the outside, the lobby is very nice and well-kept and the staff were very friendly. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I liked being able to walk to restaurants nearby and being in the city itself (instead of having to stay in North Bethesda for a similar rate). The one downfall was the nightly $25 rate for self-parking in their open garage.
Response: Dear Lauren, We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your stay at Days Inn Washington DC. We agree; there is nothing better than a great staff and comfy bed to return to after a busy day, so we are happy you were impressed. Should your travels bring you back to the area, we hope you choose to stay with us again.

Phil Miller: It’s a Days Inn. Can’t expect a lot. It was inexpensive and room 410 was clean. It is within the DC square. That is a lot. People at the desk were great. No breakfast, no microwave and no refrigerator. The only breakfast restaurant close is a Burger King. Old building so bring your own wall plugs etc. We will make it work because of the location and cleanliness.
Response: Dear Phil, Hearing from our guests is essential as we constantly strive to enhance our guest experience, so thank you for reaching out. Though it was a pleasure having you, and we are pleased to hear you enjoyed our convenient location and friendly staff, we regret that other areas of your stay fell short for you. Rest assured, your concerns are valid and will be addressed internally as we evolve our services and property. It is our hope that you will consider staying with us again in the future for a better visit.

A. Rosenquist: My son and his friend were supposed to have a refrigerator but they said they didn’t have any due to Covid (?) but then they magically found one when I called and pointed out that we had a guest with a medical need for it. Be aware that they don’t charge the card you reserved with online unless you, the cardholder, are physically standing there holding it— not at all clear in the reservation process and very inconvenient in a city full of college students whose parents might want to pay from another place. It’s near the metro but other than that it’s not a particularly easy or pleasant place to stay.
Response: We appreciated the opportunity to host your son and his friend. Thank you for mentioning our convenient location near the Metro. While our accommodations are not equipped with a refrigerator, we're glad that our team was able to assist you with this request. Please know you can review a full list of our amenities on our website before making a reservation. If your son's travels bring him back to Washington DC, we hope he will return for an even better experience.

Hannah Mench: If you’re looking for an easy, no frills, clean, quiet, peaceful, safe place, on a main road, look no further. I stayed for one night just traveling through town and it was simple, tidy and perfect. Disclaimer: the bed was not the comfiest mattress in the world but it was fine, and hey, the lady at the front desk was nice so it balances out.
Response: Dear Hannah, We are delighted to hear we were exactly what you needed on your quick trip through town. From our clean, comfy accommodations to our friendly guest service, Days Inn by Wyndham Washington DC/Connecticut Avenue has everything one could need to enjoy a stay with us. While your bed wasn't to your preference, we're so happy our convenient location and peaceful atmosphere helped make up for it. The next time you're in town for a bit longer, depend on us again for the value you deserve!

Brayana Pettit: By far one of the worst hotels I've stayed in a long time. This is not a place one wants to come to for a nice time. The hotel looks nothing like the images with the exception of the outside! On the second floor where my room was located, felt unsafe. On all 3 nights I stayed was a fight in the A.M & P.M., guests slamming doors, screaming in the hallway, the stench of smoke (Marijuana and cigarettes) filled the hallways. Bathtubs and walls chipping of paint. No microwave, no refrigerator, and coffee maker didn't work. The only 2 reason I gave this hotel a 1 star is because I had to at least pick a star ave because the staff was nice.... other than that it's not worth the money. However I will say it is a convenient location. Close to train station and restaurants
Response: Dear Brayana, Thank you for being our guest in DC and for reaching out. We're sorry to hear certain aspects about our property weren't your preference. We always aim to provide a safe environment for our guests and to have our front desk team ready to assist should they be notified of any issues. It is nice to know you appreciated our convenient location and friendly service. Many thanks for the suggestions for how we can improve. Our team wishes you safe travels.

Folu A: Hotel was like a place that had its great days but now old and falling apart. Four stars for the location and its access to other things. There was a nice bookstore about 10minutes walk and the best coffee shop was just 1minute walk. The hotel itself is 2 stars. You can find cleaner places to sleep for same price or thereabouts. I was to spend 2nights there and even for such short stay, I couldn’t stay the second night. Staff was ok.
Response: Dear Folu, Though we are an older building, we do our best to maintain a high level of comfort. We're glad you still enjoyed the convenience of our location, and we hope for a chance to improve your perceptions the next time your travels point you in our direction.

Capital View: what do users think?

Andrea Acosta: Cute hostel, perfect for traveling on a budget. They don’t provide locks for free, they sell them for $8...I didn’t use any and my roommates were very respectful of my things and my space. Even though there was one toilet per floor, I didn’t have any issues at all sharing the bathrooms with other guests, everyone was also very friendly. Will consider this place for next time.

Priscilla Lucas: The staff was nice and friendly, it was a good location because it was within walking distance of other eatery and entertainment places. Had a beautiful rooftop for chilling. The only real major downside was that there were bedbugs, I got multiple bites so anyone coming here, be mindful of the bedrooms. Other than that it was fine.
Response: Thanks for letting us know! We constantly have solution laid out, so that if any guests travel with them, they die in our hostel, so don't worry. This is more like a decontamination zone. But we'll check on your room and any adjacent rooms, make sure to reapply the solution and steam the rooms, until the next traveler brings them :)

Russ Musselman: We had an awesome time here! Super easy to get here from the capitol on bike. Lots of restaurants close by, and walmart is a few blocks away. The staff that we hung out with were super cool and helpful. They do a good job keeping it clean. The guests were from around the country and world. Very fun to just hang out and talk with people. We used the rooftop deck too, good bonus. All this for less than it would cost for anywhere nearby.

Kain Brauneis: -Awesome location in the city, you can walk to a lot of cool places and the immediate surrounding area is really nice. There's a small French Cafe close by that I also recommend. -Staff are really nice. I had some awesome conversations with some of them. Genuinely cool and helpful people. -The other people staying there that I met were from everywhere. I met a couple of really cool Europeans. A really cool guy from India too. I wish I had spoken to more people. It really was a great place to meet people. -Bathrooms are in nice shape, sleeping area that I was in was alright. I slept on the first floor in the coed room. Room can get muggy. Be sure to open a window or something. Building certainly wasn't dirty or gross, but it's not the mf Marriott either. Its an old apartment building that's been renovated to accommodate hostel goers, and it shows. There are signs of wear and tear. But there's also a really nice cleaning lady who comes in every day. Some people here were unfair about the shape of the place I think. -Overall, this is an nice place to stay and an awesome place to experience the city at. Highly recommended.

rammusphere: I stayed for a week here. Staff is friendly and helpful, they try to make it a quality experience. Kitchen is well stocked and rooms are clean and common areas have entertainment. Rooftop is awesome. Guests seem to be about 50/50 workers and tourists. The location is good and felt safe but I would not walk east at night. Wifi wasn't usable for me anywhere besides the kitchen and it was not fast, others had trouble too. So I had to expend all of my cellular data. But it's a 5 star stay if the wifi is improved. Id stay again.
Response: We fixed the dang wifi! We now have FIOS GIGABIT service, that's 1,000 mpbs up and down. Even on the top floors, using wifi extenders, the speeds are awesome!

tony zephyrs: I stayed at this hostel several times, as well as the other location on 11th Street. Personally, I prefer this Capital View location, because of the roofdeck area, newer facilities, and less traffic noise. "Lisa" was very helpful and made the check in process very simple and straightforward. She did not hesitate to change my bed after hearing that I preferred a bottom bunk. That's great customer service.

Tarah Gee: Capital View Hostel is a little off the beaten path from all the main attractions but it is located in an up and coming neighborhood. Its a few blocks from the nearest coffee shop if you are there on the weekend but its a nice walk. The staff is a super friendly and outgoing crew. They were generous and very spirited. I enjoyed hanging out with them on the rooftop deck, thanks for the beers Mexican Stan! ;) The house could use some updating and small renovations (bathroom, kitchen) would drastically improve this otherwise wonderful building. My one and only complaint is that while I felt very safe walking to and from the hostel, around 3 am, there are street walkers who occupy the corner that the hostel is located and they make quite a racket while you are trying to sleep. I was woken up and kept awake between the hours of 3 am and 7 am both nights I stayed there. If this problem could be taken care of as well as the updates, this would be one of the better hostels that I've stayed in. I would recommend it however and will probably stay there when I return in April. Thanks! Tarah

Jeroen: It was a very nice hostel to stay. I've been there just for one night but it very cool to experience a couple of hours over there. The staff was very friendly and they advised me very well about the questions I had. One staff member ask me to join the Jacuzzi party at the rooftop with some friends of him and other guest who stayed over there, it was a really nice experience I won't forget so thanks for that! For the rest.... Only one thing to improve... I hope that the 2 showers I had are fixed again, It was not a big issue but it could be more pleasant to have some warm water ;-) Besides that, I would absolutely recommend this Hostel to friends and even for myself to stay again! Regards from The Netherlands!
Response: Thanks for your nice comments! The showers, of course, had been fixed for a long time =)

John Doe: A well run hostel by great people. You can't go wrong, except that some days the shower takes a little while to heat up. But is that really the most important thing? Also, I think it will be fixed soon. Stay here, you'll meet good people and have a good time. Great location, great management, cool building. Can't go wrong.

Alex Nikolic: Stayed in a private room (apartment) that the hostel provides. It was nice. Big enough for my group. We had our own kitchen. Beds were adequate. Linens seemed clean. Location was amazing. Would stay again.

Club Quarters Hotel White House, Washington DC: what do users think?

Derek Kruger: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. This site will compare countless hotel sites and usually will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This place is the best rated in the area. I've been coming here for years. If you stay for a few days you for sure will love it I'm sure! Super friendly staff!! They upgraded me with my pet to a larger room on the top floor with a view of the park across the street. Technology was awesome - could connect phone to TV. Everything was super clean! They also have water on every floor for the guests! The only thing I can “complain” about is there is no parking available. However, there is a garage around the block for $40 overnight. Last, there is no extra fee for a pet. Just have to sign a waiver. Will definitely stay here again if I am ever back in DC!

Amanda Sykes: Super friendly staff!! They upgraded me with my pet to a larger room on the top floor with a view of the park across the street. Technology was awesome - could connect phone to TV. Emily palmer: We had a very nice experience here! The hotel is in a super convenient location for public transportation especially the silver, orange, and blue line. There were many bus stops within a couple blocks although we didn't take those as much. The hotel itself was very clean. You need your room keycard to use the elevators which made it feel safe. The staff were very kind and helped us out a lot. Our room was one with 2 twin beds, not the biggest but was very comfortable for the 2 of us. The complimentary free water bottle refills turned out to be very useful. We were here for spring break so it helped save us having to pay $10 for a bottled water at a museum or food truck. The only thing was it is on a fairly busy city street. It wasn't a big problem for us, but if you need quite maybe try getting a room on a higher up floor. We were on floor 5 and the noise was loud sometimes.

Tyler Stalletti: Staff was friendly but the hotel is of sub-par quality. Entering the room I actually thought it was great but then I noticed some things. The bathroom is small but it was gross as I smelled mildew. The tile flooring and walls in the shower were covered in mildew. Even the bottom of the show curtain had mildew. The bathroom had a drop ceiling which looked dirty and if the shower had mildew I’m sure the tile ceiling had it also. That’s not the worst part, I noticed when running the air conditioner I began to sneeze. I was out all day on Saturday walking dc with no problem. As soon as I went into my room and turned on the A/C I began sneezing. Left for dinner and kept sneezing which was horrible. After a few hours out I stopped sneezing. As soon as I came back to the hotel room which had the air running I started sneezing again. I can’t guarantee it was the air conditioner but their was definitely something in that room making me sneeze. The remote for TV also had white stuff all over it and was also gross. It was supposed to be all sanitized in a clear bag but obviously not. I honestly almost asked for my money back but the staff was so friendly that I didn’t want to.

Dominic Carpin: I love this place. It's pet friendly and there's no extra charge. The rooms are very clean and modern. There's a Butler Service where you can get reasonable food delivered to your room. On the second floor it has a cappuccino machine that dispenses espresso or americanos. Filtered water that is chilled is available in the hallway complete with plastic bottles. Nice view of Farragut Park from our window. Comfortable bed. Nice big flat screen TV. Bathroom, while small was well-appointed with modern countertops and fixtures. Shower, no bathtub. No mini fridge.

Samia Muhammad: This hotel 🏨 is best choice to be near from all activities near by such as White House. I highly recommend this hotel. The stuff especially Aline is amazing and helpful she changed my room next day to have a best view. The lounge in second floor has a fresh coffee ☕️. There is a water free.

Wei Hsu: We stayed here for two days, and I think I chose the best hotel in Washington DC! The location is great! Close to everywhere on foot. Including White House, monument and some museums! Also five mins away from subway station on foot! The service here is also great! The lobby is clean and make people feel comfortable. Next time when I travel to DC, I will choose this place again!

Alejandro Nuñez-Jimenez: Great value in an unbeatable location. Got a last minute deal and stayed in a Standard Queen Room for $180 pre-tax, which turned out to be a corner room on the 8th floor. No views, but amazing value. The room was spotless, reasonably large, and very nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. AC worked great. I appreciated the nice lighting, complimentary coffee, and bedside alarm clock with a loud speaker (which allowed me to listen to my own music). The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. Despite having to deal with multiple customers simultaneously, they managed to not have anyone waiting for long. Definitely one of the highlights. The other one is the hotel location. In DC, on this price range, you can't do any better. Literally less than 5 min walking to the White House. I will surely be back when visiting DC.

D Howe: Stayed here in May 2022. One of the best big city hotel experiences I’ve had. It’s not fancy and the rooms are basic but they’re spotless, the place is quiet, bathrooms are modern and clean, the staff is polite and helpful. Highly recommend this property. There is a Boulanger in across the street that serves up incredible breakfast items. Right next to a mtetro station.

Ganindu Madhawa: Stayed here for a week in Autumn 2017 and cost me around 260$/day just for the stay without meals. Obviously the rooms are comparatively smaller so was the bathrooms. . However it was perfectly equipped with needs for single person stay and I would say the stay was comfortable. The reception staff was so friendly The place is located in the heart of the busy suburbs and just few hundred yards from The White House, Renwick Gallery and a number of free museums. Rooms were clean.

Walter E. Washington Convention Center: what do users think?

Joshua Russell: First time to the convention center for Awesome Con 2022. Huge place with many halls and areas to meet. Multiple locations for bathrooms and some food selections as well. The staff was very helpful and super friendly. Awesome con was in fact awesome! Lost of cosplay, huge areas for original art, and many vendors for comics, cards, games, and so much more. First time coming to one of these and was very happy to be able to go. Next time will plan a bit better and spend more time and checking out the table top gaming areas as well.

Anthony Heady: Awesome Con - Always Awesome and Always amazing, everyone dressed up looks spectacular, there something for everyone, game halls to play, tons of art stuff for the kids. I can rant and rave for hours but you just need to go for atleast a day and see the fun for yourself.

Ivysfoodcorner: We visited the Walter E Convention Center for Washington DC Auto Show 2022 Event. This place is super convenient, right next to Metro station and surrounded by all locals restaurants. The facility was maintained very professionally, the security was organized and the restroom also very clean and super shiny! The Washington DC Auto Show 2022 is a must to visit! It’s an eye opener event especially if you’re planning to buy your future cars. We had a blast visiting this year, with all the pandemic precautions, all were organized professionally and you can definitely social distancing without problems. We’re spoiled and entertained by the numbers of cars on the show, all come with new technology and amazing design, especially the electric cars and the muscles cars. Not forget to mention about the electric buses! Check on the exotic cars section and the oldies cars just to be mesmerized! Don’t forget to check on the event while they’re still around!

Jason Bogstie: I spent a week attending an event at this convention center. The place is fantastic! It's huge! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It was very clean and felt safe. There are ample food and beverage choices within and nearby the convention center. The technology available at the convention center was good and modern. Very ADA accessible. All in all, a great place for big events.

Meet Miss Sallyy: Visited so many times for different meetings and conventions… last one AwsomeCon. Fun.

Williams world: AwesomeCon2022 was amazing great cosplays, friendly people good merchandise and tasty food.

Janice L: Huge convention with tons of food places around. Came here for Awesome Con and it was a really fun and clean location for a con. It has a good amount of chairs located all around the convention for sitting!

Joshari: The Convention Center is a great place for any Anime, Comic, or Manga Convention.

Isabelle K: One of my favorite places to visit for the annual awesome Con event. The staff is very accommodating, the space is spacious even with the million people coming in. I am a mom, so they have stations for breastfeeding and lots of private restrooms. There's always space to sit down and rest even waiting for an elevator. The only downs is the cost of food, however you are in the heart of DC in a very tourist area. I am not surprised. It's very close to Chinatown, so you're around a lot of Asian restaurants and there's usually an event going on in the area, especially on weekends!

James Walker: Walked right up to Pagani Huayra, the $2,500,000+ Italian carbon fiber sports car, wow factor. The red Chevrolet Corvette Z06, caught my eye at about $90,000. The pretty blue 2022 Camaro LT1 Convertible starting at $41,145 was also an eye opener.

Hostel Comfort Zone DC: what do users think?

Daniel Escamilla III: It was a nice little quaint place away from the DC hustle and craziness. This hostel is like a little home, not too many people so it's easy to meet everyone staying there and get together. It's right across the street from the free transit line to Union Station which can take you to the rest of DC. It's very secure and the staff is great. The breakfast is easy and perfect for people on the go. I enjoyed my time there and will definitely try again.

Kevin Levesque: Not a bad place for the money. The bed was comfortable. They have 2 parking spaces that can be reserved. On street parking is free and plentiful. Depending on where you park you may need to move your car. The Bennett Rd. parking spaces become a travel lane during the evening commute. There is 1 male/female bathroom on the 2nd floor. Sometimes the line is 3 people deep. Women have the option to use the female only bathroom on the first floor. A bus stop and a free trolley are about a 1 minute walk from the hostel. Breakfast was corn flakes and milk. The staff and guests were friendly.

Nick Sagnasty Trombley: I've been here a few times. It's the perfect place to find a quiet, small but very quality hostel outside of downtown with a cultural staff. Not always the cheapest but it's worth the price. It's close to a lot of convenience stores and a few blocks from McDonald's.

Daniel Gonçalves: A LOT of work to be done at this Hostel. While the staff was friendly and helpful, the absence of amenities like a stove are key to have a successful hostel. The A/C was hardly working either. There's a code to enter the property and all the rooms do not have a key or access code. There were several instances where other guests would enter my room by mistake. The upstairs rooms, there was only one bathroom and sometimes I would have to wait for half an hour to use the restroom. As a regular hostel attendee, I've never seen locals using an hostel but whilst I stayed there, my room was regularly frequented by locals. To get around the city, there's a free tram that takes you directly to the Union Station but I didn't feel safe to walk at night in that part of town. Although Comfort Zone has the best rates as a hotel in the city, do yourself a favor and get a hostel elsewhere.
Response: Daniel, thank you very much for your review and suggestions. We hope to better our services so regular hostel attendees can enjoy their stay and enjoy the city.

samson seyoum: We made a quite long road trip with my whole family of six.... my twin boys and the girls love the accessibility to the numerous play grounds near to our stay, while my wife were obsessed with the customer service, cleanliness and comfort of the bed ... it was such an outstanding experience for tourists like us who wants to explore most of the city since we were in a walking distance to public transportation... definitely a coming back customer here ... love the manager ; who gave complimentary teddy bear to my kids... Thanks you !

Arnold Bundotich: Very accessible to Union St through a free tram service. Stores such as 7-eleven, McDonald's and sol Mexican are walking distance away. The staff are very welcoming.

Ronnie Brown: I do not advise anyone to go there. Everything stinks.

TJ Travis Is Dead: Friendly staff. Perfect low cost spot to stay at while I was waiting to move into my new place. Nice kitchen area. There’s a backyard to smoke in with privacy. The only downside was that there was only one bathroom.

Woundim Demissie: The best hostel I have been and I want people to know that these is a brand new management used to be capitol city hostel so don’t be confused with the reviews which is still on the website. It’s so convenient next to street train and a lot of bars. I will be back.

TH Swiss: Great staff, clean and free breakfast. There is even free public transportation from the hostel to Union Station. The hostel is near to groceries and to the center. I definitely recommend this hostel.

Generator Washington DC: what do users think?

Yidan Zheng: Stayed there for three nights and it’s really good!! The staff are so nice and friendly. They allow free late check out at 12pm. And the lobby is so comfortable. They have pool and gym and they also offer bike rental for only $14 for a day! The location is good with the bus stations. The only thing is the king bed is actually two twin sizes beds but I am okay with this! Thank you for providing such a good place to stay!!!
Response: Hi, Thank you so much for the great review!! We are so happy to see that you enjoyed time here with us!

Jasmine: Not a hostel for socializing, but it is very elegant, clean, and innovative! Hands down one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. It’s basically a hotel with bunk beds. The shower and toilet was in the room and is set up exactly the same as a hotel. Bunk beds have a light, charger ports and cute little framed pictures of US presidents. Sheets and pillows were extremely comfy. Bikes available for rental. Cafe on-site that closes at 2. Great place to stay!!
Response: Hi Jasmine, Thank you very much for the review! We are happy to see that you enjoyed our dorm rooms!!

Ras Sammiedread - DJ Morefire: Was in DC for a business trip with my wife and have to stay the night and finish up next day. Booked the Deluxe King Suite online and check in was smooth with Brittany at the front desk. Room and bath was very clean. Garage parking was a real test for my maneuverability skill and thought was a little expenses($40) for garage fees. We really loved our stay and peace of mind regardless. Will definitely again for sure.
Response: Hi, Thank you soo much for the great review! We are happy to see that Brittany made your check in smooth and that ypu enjoyed your stay here with us. We hope to see you again!!

Nate H: We initially stayed here due to the few amount of hotels with parking. So glad that we did. It is close to everything you want to see in DC. The staff are super friendly. Rooms were clean. Rooms are a bit small, but we weren't in them much so it wasn't a big deal. Overall great place to stay!
Response: Thank you for the 5 star review Nate. We appreciate your business.

Chelsey Birgisdóttir: TL;DR I would only stay here as a last resort. I would not recommend this hostel. Positives: +Great location near DuPont Circle. +Allan the manager is great and super responsive. Some of the other front desk staff were hospitable and respectful. +It’s clean! Negatives: -The beds are super uncomfortable. I think the mattresses are SUPER old. They sink in the middle. The sheets do not fit the bed and keep coming off during the night. - There is one INCREDIBLY rude and disrespectful receptionist. She was the one working when I checked in at 7am on 4/28/2022. Not only was she very unhelpful, she was having an attitude with me. She cut me off when I was speaking. She was being short with me as well. Fortunately the issue with my reservation was resolved (once I contacted Allan) but honestly my interaction with her tainted my whole stay there. I felt extremely uncomfortable approaching the front desk whenever she was working there and would wait till the afternoon staff was in to ask for anything.
Response: .

Harry “Burge” Burgess: Rooms are nice. Atmosphere isn't really one for making new friends. Very quiet and people keep to themselves. More of a hotel vibe. Storage under the bed isnt high enough and has an annoying cage on the top that only opens halfway. Basically meaning its impossible to fit a suitcase inside. Very annoying. Internet constantly has to reconnect and isn't very fast. Bathroom is clean and shower is nice. Fresh towels provided daily. Can't take food or drinks up to room. Location isn't the best.
Response: Harry, It is very disappointing to see that there were so many aspects of your stay that fell short. My apologies for the mentioned items that relate directly to our hotel. We do appreciate your having provided us with an opportunity to host you while in our nation's capital.

Eric Sullivan: It was a pretty 2 star experience. While checking in, we were told our room was not yet ready for another 30-45 minutes. Understandable. After sinking deep into the middle of the "deluxe king," I realized it was two twin beds strapped together. Parking was good. Good location.
Response: Eric, I am sorry to read that you were not totally satisfied with your accommodations. Thank you for your positive reflection regarding our parking facility and location. We hope you will consider another stay with us in the future.

Alex Kaplan: Location is perfect. Hotel/ Hostel combo. The place is clean as it's possible in this combo facility. Day time personal are ok. The opposite is late evening and night. The night shift are rude and useless, if it wasn't for a nice security guard we would have to carry 3 suitcases from parking to the elevators. Like previously stated the rooms are clean but definitely in dire need for maintenance. as the picture show. I couldn't take the picture of the standing water in the showers, it takes long time to drain or the crack ceiling with chipping paint.
Response: Alex, Thank you for such a frank review. We appreciate the aspects of our property that met your standards. My sincerest apology for your arrival experience. Rudeness is not acceptable in our business of hospitality. I can assure you the matter will be addressed. My hope is that you will consider returning in the future to see the best of who we are.

Daniel Liestman: We thought the price was right and it was. But I recall a lot of nickel and dining with added fees. The parking garage system for both entering and exiting is a challenge and the parking spots are impossibly tight. Once you have parked, good luck wending your way back up. The amenities were slim to none. The room was small, but we loved how it was decorated—anything but typical!
Response: Hi Daniel, thank you so much for the review. We are sorry about the parking. We do hope that you will give us another try one day.

Daniel Kokkila: Don't waste your money! We booked 3 rooms for a 4 day conference. All the rooms were advertised as king rooms. They were not. They put two twins together and advertise it as a king. It was extremely uncomfortable. I dont know if I've ever had such a bad night's sleep. It is also very noisy. Any time a door shuts, opens or someone is in the hall you can hear them. They also have clocks in your room on the headboard that you can't unplug and they tick all night long.
Response: Hello Daniel, Thank you for the review. We are sorry to see that you did not enjoy your stay here with us. We have noted your concerns and plan to improve.

District hotel: what do users think?

m.: A little apprehensive going in as price was so good and there was no one at front desk upon arrival. However, turned out to be the perfect place to stay for a one night visit. I lucked into a great room with large windows which gave a perfect view of the street out front. The room was very bare bones but super clean. Bed was OK. TV listing would be nice. AC heat unit was quiet and super efficient. Room even had a ceiling fan. No microwave in room, teeny tiny one in lobby next to 24 hour coffee and tea. No restaurant or gym. Ice machine on second floor. If you are looking to eat on a budget, there is a Whole Foods Market right around the corner (all kinds of hot and cold prepared foods, even pizza.) I will stay here again. Nice lady at front desk works some long shifts!

パラダイス: Well, the rooms aren't as they seem. It looked larger on pictures, but if you like compact rooms this is for you. No mini fridges/kitchen area, one medium sized room w one bed, smallish bathroom.. Compact. That's not really what bumped down the rating though. Sometimes when I would sleep I'd feel something crawling on me, and a recent previous post said they had roaches in their room.... Put two and two together... Yikes. Not worth the price unfortunately.

Alex W.: The room phone land line doesn't work. You can't rich the receptionist. You need to call from your cellphone. There is no mini refrigerator. Electric switch didn't work. Basic tv channel, TV doesn't work properly and sticky TV remote control. For two people only three towels Front desk person careless. These room are no views. The last thing no breakfast. The hotel absolutely doesn't worth that kind of price.

PaulDonovan Reynolds: Lots of chipped flooring and paint on walls in halls and room. Loose wiring from rm ceiling. TV wouldn't work (flickered) but the worst thing was cockroaches in my room. Wobbly wifi which took slow count to 15 to load any website page which was not mostly text. One photo attached to email took 25 seconds to download. For this I paid over US$200. Incredible. With 60 rooms they are now earning 12,000 per day. Spend some money on renos, pest control and Wifi

Steve Henderson: It's been a while since I checked into a Hotel. Front desk was kind and courteous. It was worth booking here for the capital pride events, as you're right at the heart of everything.

Erick Ramos: Rooms are pretty small but affordable for the area. Room service cleans up daily so had no issues with cleanliness. They provide amenities such as shampoo and soap. Would recommend just for sleeping but don't expect much to do at the hotel itself

Ambar Robinson: I enjoyed my stay great staff and clean room. Elevator works and good wifi for work. I would stay again.

Edward A. Gray: Very nice and clean staff was excellent. Location was perfect for me to walk around DC. I would stay here again.

Andrew R: nice hotel in a not busy area that is a good deal near restaurants and convenience store to get you through a DC trip

Marsha Royal: No frills but well priced for the area. Walking distance to stores, restaurants and the bus. Helpful staff.

Hyatt Place Washington Dc/Us Capitol: what do users think?

Jessica Marie: I stayed here last week. Overall, I had a pleasant time and experience even though I did not get the room I initially paid and requested for. I paid for early check-in and Higher Floor Room. When I arrived I was given a key to a High Floor Room but someone was still in the room. Let the front desk rep know and was given another key to a lower floor room but still had a nice view. Room was clean and roomy enough space for two relax and comfortable. Breakfast was lackluster so don't have high hopes. Hotel is in a perfect location, close to great food spots, grocery store and my favorite Starbucks. 5 minutes from the Metro and Close to Downtown. I will stay here again on my future visits.

Melanie Brown: Hotel is nice, breakfast is good, everything was clean and well stocked. Giving 5 stars because the staff is exceptional! Above and beyond meeting every need and SUPER friendly! Another bonus is the cold water they keep in the lobby. It had ice and was full every time we came down morning or night. What a comfort for busy tourists, especially in the summer. There are drugstores, food and coffee right around the corner. And ubers into all of the tourist attractions were fairly inexpensive. We will be staying here again! dispense in the lobby

Derek Kruger: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any room. This site will compare countless booking websites and normally will have prices much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you won't be let down. Hotel is nice, breakfast is good, everything was clean and well stocked. Giving 5 stars because the staff is exceptional! Above and beyond meeting every need and SUPER friendly! Pola P: The sheet of the bed was dirty. The road outside was very loud and I could hear every car going by while being in my room. The walls are very thin and I could hear people from the other room almost all evening. The bathroom door was very loud! It was squeaking. The breakfast wasn’t that good. The room was spacious and nice. The air conditioner was very easy to operate. The elevators were very fast and nice!

Sonny Iqbal: I stayed in this location for wife's birthday! The staff was very nice and courteous. They made our stay very special. The place was clean and the room has great views. Special thanks to the front desk staff and the General Manager who was present. I highly recommend staying here. Great location for activities in DC. Close to H street and the national Mall.

Jen Bradley: Pay for the valet or your car WILL be broken into!!! At least a dozen cars had a window smashed out during our stay & center consoles ripped out. They put two holes in my window trying to break in but couldn’t get it to shatter. Everyone else, not so lucky. When I told the front desk they said they tell everyone not to park on the street (when we arrived they said valet or street were the options, no warning whatsoever about the DAILY break-ins and complete lack of police presence). Breakfast was ok. Semi convenient location but not safe (vacant lots flank half the street). Coffee shop across the street was nice. Room wasn’t that clean. Needed a blanket for the pull out couch and had to wait 30 min, as no one was attending the front desk. Phone did not work. Need a key card to gain access to the lobby and to activate the elevator, even in DC that says a lot,

Erika Williams: Personally, this is not what I'm used to for a Hyatt and the 1st night I was very disappointed with the room to the point that I didn't want to be in it at all. However, the front desk staff was very accommodating and moved us to a different room for the remaining nights. The parking situation should definitely be fixed especially since the only true and safe option is to pay $53/night for valet unless you're ok with the possibility of your car being broken into. There were public parking lots available for a fee, but when we drove around those, there were cars already there with broken windows even being right next to the police department, so that should be changed. I also think that based on the location and the environment around this hotel, the price of the rooms should be decreased slightly especially with the limited parking availability. Another issue I ran into was that the room we booked for had breakfast included for an additional charge, but we found out when we got to the hotel that breakfast was included for everybody. However, I do want to mention that we booked through booking.com so I think that was more of a third party issue than the hotel's doing. I don't think I'll stay at this hotel again just because of where I prefer to stay, but I will also be sure to do a better job at using things like Google Earth to check the surroundings of a hotel before making a reservation there.

Melinda White: Stayed last weekend with friends. We booked two rooms and were given rooms 11 floors away from each other one of which was dirty and had no linens on the bed. We called the front desk to inform them and they stated they would have it cleaned while we were out for the day. Came back hours later to the room in the same unclean condition. We went to the front desk to resolve this as well as being double charged. They moved us to a new room and stated they would be discounting the rooms but instead they charged us an upgrade fee. So don't stay here if unless you are looking to be overcharged and stay in dirty rooms. Only good thing was the valet staff. Immanuel in particular was very friendly and helpful ensuring our cars were safe throughout the stay.

uthra pakkiriswamy: Towels were smelling full of smoke! That means they haven’t changed from previous stay or they haven’t washed properly. Whole room was filled with smoke. For 4 people, 1 shampoo and 1 soap was provided. Exhaust fan wasn’t working in toilet. Worst room service in my entire life! Kitchen, valet service was good.

Days Inn by Wyndham Washington DC/Gateway: what do users think?

C G: The rooms are affordable but needs work. The curtains are dirty and stained. The sheets are dirty. Black mold on the ceilings and in the shower. If you need to make calls there's an additional charge for the phone. The parking is terrible and they recently updated the policy so there's an additional charge for parking. If you need to use the restroom there's no restrooms in the lobby. If you arrive early there's an additional charge for the room if you show up before 3. There's breakfast but the hours for breakfast are basically 7-9:30 so really you might as well just say there's no breakfast. The floors should be swept and mopped. They're swept so they give the appearance of being clean but if you take off your shoes and go shower and walk out without socks or shoes you will find that the bottom of your feet will be black. The location is fairly centralized but you're right off the freeway so your best option is to take the other exit so you can actually get to the street without causing an accident. Long story short it would be in your best interest to find another location altogether.

BriAnna Glenn: Room and bathroom had black mold. It had bugs, such as ants and some type of milipede or centipede. The beds were dirty, so they never changed them before we got there. Breakfast ended early, 7-9:30, what kind of hours is that??? Extra fee to check in early, $20. I'm just disgusted and disappointed. Pool was also shut down with no explanation as to why it wasn't open. I would never recommend, nor will I ever return. Disgusting floors, they had the bottoms of my feet black and I had just walked out of the shower. The sink had something greasy all over it? As if it had never been cleaned. The curtains had mystery stains and holes in them. My God, it had the appearance of a horror movie. Also had water spots in the ceiling, so you can tell water comes into the room often. The walls were yellow, not from the wallpaper, bur just because they are that gross. In certain spots you can tell they used to be white. Just don't freaking go. You also have to pay for parking?? They also rent out the parking lot when they have an inn full of guests. Disgusting behavior. You'll talk to them, and they just continue to look at their phones and barely respond. They will never get my money again.

Brittany Watkins: The reviews on here are a bit extra I think... This is a decent hotel! I stayed this past weekend for the 1st time visiting DC and it was clean and they were very helpful. You have to get your own extra towels and they dnt clean your room until u checkout but it was not a bad stay at all. I will stay again. They have a laundry room and vending machines and ATM in the lobby.

Michelle Casares: I rent rooms for our construction crews several times throughout the year. Working with this motel has been THE WORST experience I have had by far. I should have known that a chain that would not allow us to "direct bill" was not trustworthy. They gave us a monthly rate since our crew was scheduled to be in the area for 6 weeks. The project was postponed so our crew only needed to stay there for a few weeks. I asked the motel to charge us the regular rate and credit our corporate card for the remainder. Of course I got the runaround and they are wanting to charge us for time that our crew will not be there. There was no where in any documentation that said we would have to pay for time that we did not use the room. DO NOT do business with this motel. Fair warning.

Charles Ransom, Sr.: It's just a safe place to stay. Ignore the television - it works, but barely. If you need quiet, stay above the 1st floor. The sheets on the bed show a good bit of ware, but they appear to be clean. Despite the appearance, the bathroom is shower only.

Scarlett Fascetti: The place is really dirty, their were cockroaches in the lobby area. We had no choice but to stay there for one night since we could not get our money back or find anything better in the area. This is not a place that I would ever stay at. I don’t do fancy but I do clean. The bathroom in the lobby was so gross and smelled like throw up that my mother eyes teared and almost threw up herself. I felt bad for my guest and I apologized tremendously. The pool as you can probably guess, close with a cover on it on a 85 degree day at the end of June. There’s nothing I can say that’s positive except the bed was clean, the bathroom in the room were old and gross. We got up at crack of dawn to leave. Pay a little more do research about the area before you go there. Cause the area where it was was just as bad.

T D: Made reservations and then tried to ask for a refund, said because it was prepaid that couldn't happen. Rooms was dirty, service was non existent. Tried to ask for fresh towels and they made it seem like it was a big deal. After the second day I just left all the trash out front with the towels, came back from the days Adventures and stuff was still out there. Only positive was our amazing Uber driver. So I guess don't stay here

Angela Thompson: Decent is the best I can give. We did sleep well. You pay $10 for parking (I'm assuming it pays for the guard for the parking lot that only let's in cars with the parking permit), $100 cash or charge to your card for incidentals which is reimbursed. But the bathroom was not clean. The previous guest's hair was still in the shower. Grime on walls and dirty fingerprints all over the bathroom door. Sink was not clean when we arrived.

Sean Kelly: I can't believe I paid as much as I did for this. It's in a really bad location. It's old. It's broken. My toilet ran all night and flushed loudly all night. The refrigerator was louder then the ac which was still not loud enough to block out all the traffic noise. The curtains are broken and leaves crack people can just look in. I had a bullet hole in the window. The employee are not nice don't care and will not give you a refund. House keeper wake you up at 7am to ask if you are going to check out today. If you need a late check it out it close more money. DO NOT BOOK HERE

Charlie Decker: Made reservations on line using hotels.com, it set the wrong date. I made another for the right date and had the original reservation cancelled using hotels, com with a 100% insurance. It was cancelled 15 days prior to check in and they or Days in will not refund the money and hotels.com says they can do anything. On to the staff at front desk , the 2 people I felt to checking in and checking out were great. Very helpful and informative. The rooms are good , the screwed down tv was funny. But after watching the drug deals go down in the room beside my I understand. I would have given a 4 ⭐ but the refund policy is a joke.

YOTEL Washington DC: what do users think?

Cherelle: Cleanliness has always been my biggest priority and this hotel surpassed my expectations. My room was absolutely pristine. The house keeping staff deserves many praises. The lighting details in the rooms were amazing. Mood settings. I was a peace. The vending machines had lots of variety with great choices, but the restaurant was phenomenal! I ate amazing meals each morning. The ambiance down to the music and decor were perfect. The staff was so friendly from the receptionist, valet drivers, and everyone else. Each person I past by spoke and was friendly. I think this has to be one of my best hotel experiences by far because the customer service was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Derek Kruger: Don't forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any place. This site will compare countless booking web sites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is the best rated in the area. I've been staying here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you definitely won't be let down. This hotel is amazing! It is steps from the Capitol and has a modern tech aesthetic. I recently stayed 3 nights with a group of 48 students. We had some charter bus issues and needed a place to stow luggage from checkout until about 8 PM. The entire staff went out of their way with their kindness and hospitality allowing our group not only to stow luggage in their conference area but also to rest from the day’s adventures, order food, play video games, and make ourselves at home. If you are looking for a clean, convenient, modern, well operated hotel near the National Mall, do yourself a favor and book this one! You will not be disappointed.

Miranda Brown: The aesthetic of the room really made this worth it. The parking garage (which is a surprise $50 a night) is VERY tight. The room wasn’t large. Lights for bathroom, bedroom, and sink are linked so they will all turn on, or all turn off. No privacy for the toilet and shower so you better be comfortable with your sleeping buddy. Lastly, there was no microwave neither in the room, nor the lobby. Overall, Great area! Cute room! It’s got it’s pros and cons but we enjoyed our stay.

Naba Siddiq: I was weary with some of the mixed reviews but I stayed here while attending a conference across the street and I was very impressed! The cleanliness was GREAT. My room was sparkling clean in every corner and crevice. Love the technology in the rooms where you can control the lights and adjust the bed. Loved the mirrors, the sink, shower and everything in between. Very modern and l loved the ambience the “relax” mode of the lights give! The bed is huge and very comfy and there are charging stations built into the bed and reading lights on both sides of the bed. A mirror above the bed and a full body mirror next to the sink. Huge TV built into the wall that’s also backlit so once again, the ambience is amazing especially at night time. The room cleaning service is top notch. My room would be ready brand new for me every day and they even went above and beyond to make sure all my things (that I had messily thrown around including my shoes) were in order and perfectly aligned and organized for me each time I came back to my room. Love the huge comfy pillows and everything worked great with no issues! The coffee bar in the hall is also a vibe. The only con is the walls aren’t too sound proof so you can hear people around you if they’re loud enough but that’s a small con to me. If I visit any place that has an option to stay at a YOTEL again, I’m taking it!

Lindsay Knudsen: Modern, sleek, and most importantly- clean! I am always wary of trying new hotels but I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel! Not only were the staff so incredibly friendly, but the rooms and lobby are nice too and clean. The pool was a nice touch, clean with an attached bar. Overall, very happy with the facility.

Niya: I actually enjoyed my stay here. Whether you have a regular room or a suite the rooms are very nice and spacious. They have LED lights great for gen z lmao. And their staff in my opinion is very nice and helpful. I will say the request for an extra towel might take a little bit of time but they come.. eventually.

Hampton Inn Washington-Downtown-Convention Center: what do users think?

Derek Kruger: Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a stay. This web site will compare hundreds of booking websites and normally will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This place is one of the best in this area. I've been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure will love it I'm sure! My wife and I had a king suite, 1201, and it was clean, spacious and nice! All staff and guests were required to were mask. I liked at breakfast how you had to put on plastic gloves before serving yourself. The kitchen staff were on it! You had to have a hotel room key to use elevators. nice security measure for street loiterers. Valet service is a nice feature. I recommend guest purchase the "stay and park" bundle. Or you'll be paying like $50 a night to park at hotel. And you don't to be parking overnight on random streets in the city. Hotel is in the middle of the city, I would stay again and recommend this location by Hampton by Hilton to anyone

Marie Neang: Stayed there for 2 nights on Valentine's day weekend. Got a corner suite in room 1004 with a beautiful view of the street. Huge room with sofa and a separate bedroom and bathroom. Pretty good for the price which was around 200$/night. Breakfast was also included and it's from 6 to 10 am. Unfortunately we slept in both nights so we missed it! Staff was extremely friendly! However I have 2 complaints: the bedroom AC is extremely loud. Definitely couldn't sleep! This is why I give 4 stars. The second night, we decided to turn on the living room AC and open the bedroom door to let the air in. We wanted to book through their actual website to get points as we're Hilton honors members but the prices were 100$ more! So we ended up using Booking.com. Would have loved to be able to received points though!

Andre Morrison: My wife and I had a king suite, 1201, and it was clean, spacious and nice! All staff and guests were required to were mask. I liked at breakfast how you had to put on plastic gloves before serving yourself. The kitchen staff were on it! Kelly Mitchell: The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The cleanliness of the hotel was superb. I am very finicky and pay close attention to details when it comes to cleanliness, especially at hotels and restaurants. I didn’t see as much as a stray hair in my room. The location is also great. 20-25 min walking distance from most major attractions. I look forward to staying again.

xMIKExSMITHx: 4/9/2022 - We stayed3 days during the cherry blossom parade. Rooms were clean and breakfast was good for the family. Location is great as well. Only two reasons this wasn't a 5 star. The staff was great except one lady at the front. I asked when the pool opens and she said they don't have one. I said, there is one on the second floor, door labeled pool and spa, and she got nasty and said they haven't had a pool I'm 4yrs, yet all the signs are still up. Her attitude, and the fact that my kids couldn't go swimming made it only a 4star.

Tory L: Mr. Perry was a great help after a mix up on my end left some colleagues doubled up and me room-less the first night of the trip. He was fast and very understanding. Everyone had all their rooms straightened out and I was checked in to a beautiful room. The room was large, well stocked with everything I needed, clean, and breakfast was available for a long period of time which was nice to accommodate early or late risers. Thanks again for all the help!

Laura Hefferin: Mike at the front desk was the best. He gave good advice for navigating around the city and even provided an excellent recommendation for dinner. I really appreciate his kindness. Hope Hampton is aware of what a gem he is! I also found the staff running the breakfast area worked very hard and kept up with the large crowd each morning. The hotel is in a great location. Short walk to the metro and there was a circulator bus stop across the street, by the little park.

Mila: I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They accommodated me earlier than typical check in time. They also had freebies on the counters and maps of the city. The room was nice and it had a refrigerator. The breakfast was good. They provided a hot and cold breakfast. Gloves to use and hand sanitizer. There were also wipes. Check in and check out were easy. They also held my bag after checkout so I could explore some more.

Holiday Inn Washington Capitol - Natl Mall, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Wei Y: My recent experience at the hotel in mid March was quite pleasant. The room was clean, decor was fairly up-to-date, beds were comfortable (subjectively), and the bathroom was fairly well maintained. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, this includes the cleaning crew (on the 8th floor) who would give you anything you asked for. The pandemic is not over yet, so I liked the idea of not having staff coming in every day. People complaint about the thin wall, water pressure and the train. I did experience all of the above. The thin wall didn’t bother me that much, it’s usually due to loud neighbors. For the water pressure, I just waited for the others to finish their use then take my turn, the place was packed at the time and everyone was taking shower at the same time. As for the train, the hotel unfortunately situated right next to the track so unless you are a heavy sleeper, the noises could bother some of the guests on the east side. We ended up switching to the other side and it was great! The food at the restaurant downstairs was also surprising. The taste and the price were comparable to the nearby places, if not cheaper. A Starbucks was also attached to the hotel but they do close somewhat early. As for the parking, we didn’t have a car, but once I parked at a hotel in downtown Chicago, it was over $100 a night. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will stay again for sure!
Response: Wei Y, thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share your experience and feedback with us. We hope to see you again.

tabitha buono: Rooms were decent sized. Our beds and pillows were AMAZING! The air conditioning was very hard to control. We froze the entire time. Also our bathroom had a light out, and only 3 drawers for 2 adults in a double bed room? Had to stay on top of housekeeping too. You have to call down every morning if you want fresh towels, etc. Even with calling, they still forgot. With all that said, I'd stay again. The bed and pillows were AMAZING!
Response: Tabitha, thank you for staying with us. We are sorry that you had a challenge with your AC unit. We are sharing your comments with our staff to help us improve. We hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

Kelly Dias: Pros: Staff were friendly and pleasant. The bedding was clean. Shower head was high enough, temperature and pressure were good. Close proximity to the Capitol, National Mall, and museums. Cons: AC wasn't working on arrival, but maintenance was able to get it back on line. Insufficient towels and only conditioner in bathroom (no shampoo). Room was not served by housekeeping between first and second night, which meant no fresh towels. Bathroom toilet paper holder was partially detached from wall. AC unit had exposed wiring. Connecting door for the suite had a loose handle that meant that we couldn't fully close it without fear of being trapped. The front desk only answered calls half of the time (2 out of 4 attempts). The breakfast fare at the restaurant was very expensive and not the highest quality. Walls are paper-thin, so I got to listen to the couple in a nearby room argue at the top of their lungs well into the night. Unfortunately, there was a music festival in town, so they closed the on-site coffee shop. Streets were blocked for blocks in each direction, so no access for Uber or cabs. In order the get to local attractions, we had to walk 4-6 blocks out of the way to get around.
Response: Kelly, thank you for choosing our property. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that you experienced a few challenges during your visit. We hope that you will give us another try in the future.

Joe Hughes: We were so excited to come to Washington D.C. for vacation. I have stayed at Holiday Inn's before and never experienced anything like we did here. Nothing seemed to work. The elevators were not working properly and one day not at all. We wanted to do some laundry and there was no change available and the soap dispenser was out of soap. I wasted a dollar since I didn't see the Out of Order sign that was placed on the side of the soap dispenser. The food downstairs in the café was horrible and it made my wife sick. The 21's amendment restaurant there was not much better. We wanted to buy soda and snacks and they wouldn't except cash. The rooms were cleaned every other day if that. The carpet was filthy and the desk chair was broke. On top of everything, Nobody knew anything when we ask for directions or where anything was. Apparently this Holiday Inn was just sold and in process of a new owner. That still doesn't make it right for this establishment to really put a damper on our vacation. We called security to stop all of the yelling and playing in the hall after 10 pm at night. Our floor was loaded with a group of kids and we finally had to go out there and tell the kids to quiet down. I would look at other options before coming here to stay, Murphy's Law applies here. "Anything that could go wrong will go wrong." I'm sorry that I have to post such a negative review but none the staff didn't make any effort to make our stay enjoyable.
Response: Joe, thank you for choosing to be our guest and taking the time to share your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that this visit was not as great as it could have been. We are using your feedback to improve our services. We are sorry that you left us on this note. We hope you will give us another try in the future.

M B: This was our first time staying at this hotel and it completely served its purpose. First the location - it is across the street from the department of Education and one block from the Air & Space Museum. There is a Starbucks on the corner of the hotel and several restaurants on the same block including a McDonalds. This hotel has a parking garage under it making parking very convenient. Parking fee is charged by the hotel per day and we had in and out privileges throughout our stay. There are two restaurants inside the hotel and a small convenience store next to the front desk. The lobby is more upscale than I thought it would be and staff was nice. We got into our room the first night later in the evening and our AC wasn’t working. We called the front desk and within minutes, a maintenance worker was at our door. He changed out the wall thermostat which didn’t resolve the issue and called for assistance to bring a new AC unit. They changed that out within minutes and discovered that there must be a wiring challenge that would take more time to resolve. They contacted the front desk, got us a new room and they walked it to make sure it was in perfect working condition before bringing us the new key cards. They offered to help us move but we were fine getting ourselves to the new room. This was the only challenge we experienced during our stay and these two maintenance technicians were absolutely wonderful. We forgot to get their names but they were on duty Friday, May 20, 2022 in the late evening. Nothing is a short walk in Washington DC as buildings are huge and the distance is deceiving. Every day we walked more than 7 miles and at the end of each day I walked back to the hotel to pick up the car to pick up my Mom to keep her from having to walk back. All throughout Washington DC, there are bicycles and electric scooters available to rent electronically on the spot to make the walking shorter and to get places quicker. We didn’t use them this time but they are a great benefit if needed. We did not eat in the hotel, but it is wonderful that the restaurants were there if we wanted to. This is a pretty perfect hotel to stay in when visiting Washington DC and we will most likely stay here on our next visit and recommend that you consider it as well. We didn’t take photos of the hotel, but it was very nice, clean, comfortable beds and we felt safe.
Response: M B, thank you for choosing to be our guest. We appreciate your feedback and are delighted to know that you had a great stay. We appreciate your feedback and will be sure to share your comments and feedback with the team. We hope to see you again, next time you are in the area.

Hyatt Place Washington Dc/White House: what do users think?

Adam Green: Our experience was mostly positive at this hotel. The rooms are nice and stylish, the breakfast was tasty, and the staff was really nice. I decided to leave a review because there were several things that I thought could have made the stay even better: 1) There should probably be more room in the breakfast area as it is pretty cramped. 2) It would be nice if breakfast were served until 9:30 or 10 instead of 9 on weekdays, as it can be difficult to make it down for breakfast by 9 during a vacation. 3) The advertisements for the in-house restaurant seem a little misleading, mentioning that they have a finely curated and locally sourced/inspired menu when in fact the food options are pretty basic. It wasn't bad food, but the difference between the ads and what the restaurant actually is was a little ridiculous. 4) Communication about how to park when the hotel is booked online would be helpful--it can be stressful driving in the city, and clear instructions about where you can park while you check in and await the valet would bring peace of mind. We got lucky and found a spot, but if there hadn't been one, I'm not sure what we would have done with the car while checking in. 5) I think it would be nice to have more signs with general information for guests, e.g. when breakfast is, when checkout is, etc. I ended up just googling these things, but a sign at the front desk would be better. 6) The valet parking is really expensive! It would be nice if the price for parking was a bit lower as that would make guests feel more inclined/willing to tip the drivers themselves. 7) The hotel restaurant/front desk should get a card reader so there is another option for payment besides cash or charging to the room.
Response: Thank you for reaching out to us, Adam Green! We're so glad you had a mostly positive experience with us and we appreciate your detailed review! We will take your considerations into account and it helps to know that we're doing a good job! We would love to host you again sometime soon.

Erin Miller: beautiful hotel room. very clean, and amazing breakfast with all vegetarian options. the ladies at the front desk were super nice and informative. the valet was great too, I left my phone in the car by accident and he gladly retrieved our car for us so I could get it. thanks so much!
Response: Thanks for the great review, Erin! It's wonderful you enjoyed your stay at Hyatt Place Washington DC/White House so much! We strive for excellence so we're thrilled you appreciated not only our remarkable team and cleanliness, but also our gorgeous rooms and delicious breakfast offerings! Your praise lets us know we're doing our job! We can't wait to host you again soon for another amazing experience!

Felipe Sales: My stay here was very disappointing. I only chose this hotel due to the Hyatt brand, but after speaking to some locals apparently this one has a reputation for not being as nice as the others. On arrival they said I couldn't check in because my name wasn't on the reservation (it was made under my friend's name), and told me to call them and have them call the hotel to include it, otherwise I wouldn't be allowed. After calling him, he said it was already included ages ago and told them to check again. Told the staff member that and she said: oh yeah, it's right here in the comments. Same thing happened again when I forgot my key in the room. The guy said I was not the person on the reservation, and I had to keep telling him to check the comments section so he would let me in. Service in the hotel was terrible all around. Other than the person at the bar and by the door (who were very friendly), every person I came across on the help desk seems to dread talking to customers and every time you say good morning or hello they just turn away. My room was ridiculously noisy, I could hear the people on the next room coughing and sneezing during the night and when it was raining, the walls kept making a cracking sound every 1 second that sounded like a torture movie, so I had to sleep with noise cancellation headphones. Opening and closing the blinds is a challenge. I am skinny, but somehow they expect someone to squeeze into a tiny gap next to the wardrobe and keep pulling that cord. Breakfast is served until 9am which seems a bit silly if people are on holiday and most other hotels are until at least 9.30am. and it is honestly a bit sad looking: all they had were eggs and a few sausages in a sad looking paper plate that makes you feel like you're eating in basic economy.

Anna G: The hotel is located 10 minutes away (walking) from the White House and all main attractions such as Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. There is a good transportation system around it if you don't want to use taxi services. The hotel also has a rooftop bar which has finger food and variety of drinks (however it was advertised as a restaurant with a full size menu) We had one double room and one room with king size bed. It shall be noted that both rooms had coaches that could be extended to another sleeping spot. The rooms were clean however we were missing toilet brush and one blanket had a hole in it. The breakfast was included into the price and consisted of a buffet, coffee and juice bars. It was a little bit challenging to find a table, so many customers took the food to their rooms. The staff was friendly, professional and attentive.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave this wonderful review, Anna! We're so glad to hear that you had a positive stay with us at Hyatt Place Washington DC/White House! We're also thrilled that you loved our central location so much! We'd love to see you again soon so we can share an even more enjoyable experience with you.

Erin Robertson: Pros: Superb location close to everything you can walk everywhere! 2 blocks from white house and great selection of restaurants nearby. Phenomenal staff so friendly and accommodating! Clean grounds inside and out. Rooftop bar, however if u don't look high class some of the patrons can be rude. Cons: Beds and pillows lumpy and hard, woke up hurting every day. No pool. Breakfast done at 9a so we missed it a couple times. Next to a Gentleman's club, the patrons won't bother you but if you have a room on the adjoining wall you will hear the music until 2a but they provide earplugs.
Response: We appreciate the time you’ve taken to share your feedback, Erin. Although we’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed our location, clean facilities, and interacting with our team, it’s disappointing to hear that you weren't completely satisfied with our beds, breakfast hours, and sound insulation. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service and a comfortable environment to our guests at all times so please know that your concerns will be addressed to the appropriate members of our team moving forward. We do hope you allow us another opportunity to share a more positive experience with you soon.

Catherine McGuckin: Wonderful Staff And Convenient Location!! This is a well-managed property and highly recommend! Your staff should be commended. Your valet men are hard working and made sure my son’s truck was out the night before he was to report to USMC Quantico. Thank you gentlemen!! Miss T! Thank you!!! Miss T saved the day ensure my son’s shirt was dry before his departure! You were so pleasant and we’re so grateful! Great property, nice variety at breakfast, rooftop bar was great! Easy walking distance to Metro!
Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave this wonderful review, Catherine McGuckin! We're thrilled to know you enjoyed your stay at Hyatt Place Washington DC/White House so much! We strive for excellence so we're pleased to hear you appreciated not only our courteous staff and prime location, but also our amenities! Your praise lets us know we're succeeding! We can't wait to host you again for yet another unforgettable visit! Have a lovely day!

Celine Aka-Koffi: This hotel is certainly not up to my standards (I didn't make the reservation. If I had, it would not have been here). The staff at the front desk would benefit from some training on how to welcome guests. Our room was relatively spacious and cozy. The back of the toilet seat was disgusting. Housekeeping needs to do better. I won't return to this hotel.

Elizabeth Towe: Just completed a 5 night stay for our vacation to Washington DC and while I struggled to pick a hotel for us to stay at, I’m SO glad I chose this one. From the moment we checked in the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The hotel is so clean, the bed was SO COMFORTABLE - like sleeping on a cloud. Huge bonus for us was that they have Chromecast on the TV so you can watch your Netflix and other streaming services. The free breakfast was outstanding. It was different every day and they had such a nice variety of options. Location was convenient and within 30 min walk to National Mall and other attractions. Only a 5-10 min walk to the Metro if you choose to go that route like we did several times as well. I do want to note that the only disappointing thing we encountered was one night we heard what sounded like a band very close to the hotel playing drums and music til close to midnight. We used a sound machine app on our phones to drown out the noise so we could go to sleep. I HIGHLY recommend you end your hotel search now and book this hotel for Washington DC!
