Angelico Pizzeria: what do users think?

Julio Garcia: Customer service needs major improvement. I was giving old pizza, the sauce was already dried up. Decided to try it but was horrible. If you're going to sell slices have some made in a rotating display and not try and make a buck with stale pizza.
Response: Please accept our sincerest apologies, and thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're using your feedback to prevent things like this from happening again in the future. We hope that this situation hasn't turned you away, and that we'll see you again soon!

Andrew perkins: Good pizza for takeout. Pretty standard pizza pie so you can’t go wrong but won’t be blown away.

Ha Ta: Best steak sandwich I've ever had!

Edie Young: My family orders pizza from here quite often as we live nearby. I have to say the pizza is very yummy. Also the service is good and I would recommend.

Selma Brittain: I ordered from this place for the first time and really enjoyed it. The reviews made me a little concerned but I am glad I did not listen. I ordered a large portobello mushroom and it was enough for my boyfriend and I. The pizza was very good and the feta on it really pulled the entire pizza together. Usually I prefer my pizzas with red sauce but the veggie ingredients and garlic and herb truly made it very flavorful. I did do pick up so by the time I made it home it wasn’t as hot but it was still good. I did eat the leftovers the next day and popped it in the oven to get it toasted and it tasted just as good. Definitely will order form here again.

Caleb Copeland: This place also goes by “Focaccia Sandwiches” on delivery apps, which is what my review is about. Amazing focaccia bread and plenty of options for filling. Highly recommend. Haven’t tried their pizza or other “Angelico” brand items yet. It is kind of shady that they pose as two different restaurants on delivery apps. I had to call about an order once and the person who answered the phone was so confused.

L Porter: Meh. I ordered a Supremo Pizza, and it tasted just like DoGiorno pizza from the grocery store, but soggier in the middle. The hand-tossed crust was nice on the ends, good bread flavor. The red sauce was overly salty. We ordered three different kinds of pizza and none of my family, including a 6YO and 1YO liked it. (Yes, 1YOs can eat pizza!) I did get it delivered thru DoorDash with about a 15 min drive, so it may be better in the restaurant.
Response: L Porter, Thank you for sharing your experience. We are always improving our food and assure you we use the highest quality ingredients at Angelico Pizzeria! We always advise our customers to please let us know your taste preferences so we can provide you with the best experience. We hope to have you try us again & please let us know your preference so we can adjust anything accordingly. Feel free to check us out on Social media (Instagram & Facebook) for the latest updates @angelicopizzeria

Marcus M: Great sandwiches. I’ve ordered 5 or 6 times and it’s great every time.

Rosemary Stripling: I ordered pizza and wings . Pizza didn’t have enough sauce on it and only one pepperoni on each slice it did have some crumbled sausage on it . Have had better for $20 bucks just for the pizza. Wings were good .

John Reid: Awesome pizza. Got the eggplant special and cheese. Buy it.
Response: John, Thank you for your great support and review. We truly appreciate it. Make sure to check us out on Instagram/Facebook for daily/weekly updates/deals. If I can assist with your needs before visiting feel free to DM me and I will do my best :)

Martha Dear: what do users think?

Andy Thompson: Great pizza and great service - went Sunday night of a 3 day weekend and the team was still firing on all cylinders. I sat at the bar and got extremely lucky with the last pizza of the night (around 7:30 pm). The pizza was crispy, cheesy, and perfectly salty/savory. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the pies.

Paul Martinez: ::original review with an update:: This small pizza shop is owned by a husband wife pair. They have taken pizza to another level. The fresh and expertly curated toppings canvas a sourdough crust that is lightly crusty on the outside, but beautifully pillowy on the inside. Our servers were expertly aware of dietary restrictions and we're able to modify to meet most the needs of our party. We ordered one or more of each of the pies. And every... single... one was a knockout I personally don't like white pizza, and found myself eating over half of the one we ordered But if I had to pick one pie that you HAVE to try, get the sausage and peppers. It's a little riff where Italian sausage is subbed out for delicious 'nduja and we couldn't get enough. Wine list a beautifully curated with skin contact, red, white, rose and lambrusco. Mostly Greek heavy. A nice Greek beer on the menu too. Don't drink? The sparkling lemon/lime/and orangeades are so refreshing. The farm fresh cherries and feta was a phenomenal balance of rich, sour, sweet, and funky. Broccoli rabe was stellar and we'll balanced Roasted eggplant dip was devoured in minutes **Tips** - get the dipping sauces. The bagna cauda (anchovy butter) is a wonderful compliment to dip your crust in. Hot dip is a slam piece if you like spice in your life. - my favorite "pizza wine" was lambrusco. And jammy sparkling red that will elevate the meal -orders open at noon, and sell out. So plan accordingly 10/10 perfect. There's no place like this I have ever seen. Perfect service, beverage, and hospitality. This neighborhood joint sure knows how to make people happy. ** Update ** Have been back since, and operation is still stellar. Service is too notch, and the food is killing still. It seems they have added staff to keep up with demand. I can't wait to go back and see what they come up with next

Victor Campano: This is the best pizza in DC without question. Anyone who gave this place less than 5 stars is really just upset about the vaccination policy (you have to show your vaccination card to dine inside). The ambiance, the food, and the staff (husband and wife ownership - both outstanding people who put in hard work each night to ensure that their restaurant is running at its best) all get 5 stars from me.

david drinkhouse: Delicious meal served by the co-owners themselves. The pizza crust is 6 stars out of 5 and the toppings on the Halloumi pie were perfection. We had a magical experience at Martha Dear, we met Martha, herself as well as the co-owners. From her, we learned a bit about the path that led this ambitious couple on a journey toward pizza pie perfection and a menu complete with not pizza options as well. The charred shrimp caight my eye and I'd like to try that next time. We enjoyed our wine and look forward next time to try one of their cocktails. In a nutshell, a curated experience worth my time and money.

Anna Bukowski: Had to get this pizza the night they opened and it was amazing. The crust is the best I've ever had. It's almost the main event. Almost! We got the margherita with pepperoni and the mushroom halloumi pizzas. Loved them both. Pickup was easy. Glad to have this place in the neighborhood.

Ashish Gupta: Fantastic crust. Would like to see them offer lighter (less cheese, plant forward) pizza specials--though such can be assembled from the offered toppings

Barbara Pugliese: Every business has the right to create whatever policy they see fit but that being said full transparency is the key to success. If you only allow vaccinated people into your establishment then post it right in front so everyone can see it - it’s your policy so own it! And if your policy is to automatically add a 20% gratuity onto to every check then own that too! Tell your customers before you automatically add it on not after the fact - that is just cowardly.

Mathew York: Everything is so good, pizza is on point! Super friendly people and cozy spot. Love it.

Alphonse Dell'Isola: Finding honestly great pizza is surprisingly difficult in DC, which is what made discovering Martha Dear such a pleasure. The sourdough crust is lovingly executed and it shines through— chewy and more flavorful, a rare crust good enough to eat on its own. But you don’t eat it on its own, oh no— the dill dip is PHENOMENAL. They created a zesty-creamy-herby wonder Dip 10,000 times better than any ranch dressing. Rather than hijacking the flavor party, it actually pairs with the pizzas and complements it tremendously. The pizzas change depending on what’s seasonal, so it’s more difficult to recommend a specific one (the mushroom spinach and Haloumi was our favorite) but don’t worry— whichever you get it will be wonderfully balanced with delicious toppings. We tried 4 different ones and all of them were. Order whichever looks good to you and you’re sure you’re sure be satisfied. Our appetizers were also wonderful, the pita chips are so crunchy and toasty— it made it impossible for me to enjoy ones from a bag again. A secret star of the show is the COOKIES. They are divine. Like pizza, I find myself consistently disappointed by chocolate chip cookies from bakeries and restaurants— just hard to be better than homemade. But these vault past that: crisp on the edges without even a hint of burn or overdone, while so chewy and rich in the middle. And they are NOT shy with the salt. They give a hefty sprinkling and it makes you realize other places are still a little scared to REALLY salt their desserts. Let me tell you it is the right amount! We sat on the patio in the shade and it was wonderfully comfortable! The staff was exceptionally welcoming and hospitable and their pride in their work shows. We had such a lovely meal and are excited to keep coming back!

Ana-Maria Jaramillo: The best pizza, the coziest atmosphere, the nicest people. Try the non-pizza dishes too - that chocolate olive oil cake is spiritual.

Pizzeria Paradiso: what do users think?

David Wilson: Nice cozy place. Lighting and atmosphere just right. Restrooms very clean. Waitstaff friendly and attentive. The pizzas very tasty and not salty. The two drinks we had at the end where very good.

Rosie N.: Casual dining, lots of great options to choose from. Some of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Made fresh to order and service was on point.

Ann Morse: I may have a new favorite pizza! Macellaio with pork sausage and pepperoni hit all the savory buttons for a cold winter’s night. Primi of chicken wings and meatballs. Feeling warm now, also thanks to the very kind staff!

Steven Cheng: I had dinner with my partner here a few weeks ago during our visit to DC. The pizzas we ordered had great balance and what really stood out was how nice the crust was! Light and crispy. This is something that is pretty hit and miss at a lot of pizza restaurants. The beer many was also extensive, which added to the positive experience.

Alejandra Becerra: The pizza is delicious, the dough is tiny, is so good, this are the special and 4 cheese. The service can improve.

Karla De Los Santos: Nice place, good & fresh pizza. We had the Margherita and the Napoletana

C: Excellent pizza paradiso! We visited on 5/29 and were given a contact tracing paper to fill out for dining in. I thought it was a great idea and felt safer eating here knowing if someone tested positive and reported back, then we could be notified. The pizza came out hot and shortly after we ordered. Way better flavor than usual chain pizzas and not too salty like most. Would recommend to others and will be back in the future.

Karoline Melo: The pizza is great as well as the beers. So sad that they have closed the store in Alexandria, but when I have a chance I always go to the ones in DC.

Jim White: I really dislike soggy pizza. Its not appetizing at all. I like my crust dry and preferably a bit crisp. I ate in and had the January special tonight and the crust was sitting in a pool of moisture. The veg had to much moisture, there was too much of it and it had a lot of sauce. When they sliced it, all the liquid ran down and soaked the crust. Every time we grabbed a slice over half the toppings slid off and the center half of the slice sagged straight down. You just can't put a pile of wet veggies on a thin crust neopolitan style. The salad was good but the pizza was very disappointing.

Will Hinchcliff: Pizza was good. Still over priced compared to Italy. 12 in pizza in Italy is only $8 vs $23 here. However, it's D.C. everything is expensive. Server was pretty slow and not attentive, would love to have had another beer. They also charge a 20% dine in service fee, which is steep consider the lack of service. I'm all for service/sitting fees after living in Europe, however I also expect customer service when paying for such services. Overall pizza is good, just need to engage a bit more with your customers.

Stellina Pizzeria: what do users think?

ESB NYC: Excellent pizza, thin center and thick crust, nicely cooked. We had the piccante pizza, spicy sausage, tomato sauce, mozzarella and salami. We shared one, but it’s really an individual sized pizza. If you’re not very hungry, a couple could get by with one or two apps and one pizza. Had a glass of the vermentino, $11. Wasn’t very good. Sharp aftertaste and it was a kinda stingy pour. Otherwise excellent service and pleasant spot. Everyone was working hard and there is a spirit of teamwork. I’d definitely try it again. Oh, one thing that was strange is that if you pay on the toast-tab online feature or app, a 20% gratuity (service charge) is automatically added and can’t be reduced (or increased) and was not disclosed in advance. I didn’t care for that but it’s a relatively minor annoyance (as long as the service remains strong).

Lila West: Phenomenal Italian food! They have been on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list for several years which recognizes good quality and good value cooking all over the world. I have stopped by many times and am never disappointed. Highly recommend their pizza!
Response: Hi Lila, Thank you for the kind review! We are so glad you love Stellina! We hope to see you again soon! Best, Stellina Team

Anthony Dellavecchia: The best Italian food I've had when it comes to price to deliciousness ratio. The pictures don't do it justice, I thought it would be a decent place but it's incredible! Each dish I had was delicious and I wasn't even hungry. First off calamari was so excellent. Perfectly cooked and not overly breaded. Next, the salad with mozzarella, mushrooms, and tomato... so flavorful! The panini with shrimp and eggplant was so tasty and would be great for a refreshing lunch. The squid ink pasta with seafood was nice! Personally I like that with squid ink sauce instead of tomato sauce, but still great! Then, the Paccheri all’Avellinese, my favorite dish of all was really good. The noodles are al dente and the sauce so flavorful. Finally, the pizza... It was amazing. I loved the mozzarella and the dough. Truly great stuff. If I look at each dish and compare it to the best I've had, I wouldn't say each was #1. But when you look at it as a whole, and for the value, this is my new favorite Italian restaurant!

Marisa Sterling-Abram: Pricey but the food is very good. We set outside during a chilly day and the staff was nice to bring a heater next to us. You order everything through an app, so you don't really have a waiter. Though they do charge a 20% service fee. We had the spicy pizza, the cacio e Pepe, and the arancini.

Jean Ng: Twice on Michelin’s guide recommendation, it doesnt disappoint. Our Piccante (house made spicy sausage with salami ans mozza)pizza came briefly after ordering through the online platform. The anchovies on our caesar salad is not fishy at all and tasted fresh with a little tangy that goes well with the creamy dressed lettuce.
Response: Jean, Thank you for taking the time to write such a kind review! We are so glad you loved our Piccante pizza, it is definitely a fan favorite! We are so grateful to be recognized on Michelin's guide recommendation and are very grateful for customers like you! We hope to see you again soon! Stellina Team

Makho Shonia: Update: this place was amazing in 2021. Italian music, tasty pizza, European atmosphere. Now it’s mediocre pizzeria with Latin-American music and completely ruined atmosphere. Thank you, Stellina, somehow you managed to downgrade yourself. Old review: Definitely the best Pizza in the USA! Thin crust, real Italian oven, fantastic dough made of real pizza flour. True Italian spirit. It was something!

David Brenton: We ordered take out - overall decent experience - we had the piccante, sausage and peppers, as well as the pork sausage with thyme. The crust on these is very good, super authentic ingredients and good flavors. The Cesar salad and rice balls were delicious. We will go again to try some different pizzas but it’s not your traditional pizza joint. Excited to try some pastas.

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: I was waiting for the day when my schedule allotted me time to go to this spot. I have been wanting to go here for a while now. Other reviews have been done about this pizzeria, so since pizza is my favorite food…It was my turn at bat with this joint!! Located at 399 Morse St., Northeast, Washington DC, in the Union market area you’ll find @stellinapizzeria !! OK let’s go!! This spot has appetizers like their Cuoppo Misto ( fried calamari, shrimp, octopus, potato chips, and lemon $16), and their Aranicini di Riso (rice balls, meat ragu, mozzarella, and tomato sauce $12). Of course they have pizza like their Margherita pie (tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil $15), pastas, panini’s, Lasagne’s, salads, deserts like their Cannoli Siciliani (Ricotta cream, chocolate chips, pistachio $9), and even a myriad of wine selections. On this day I copped their Piccante pie (with tomato sauce, house made sausage, spicy soppressata, salami, ndulja jam, and mozzarella $17), their Parmigiana di Melanzane (eggplant, mozzarella, tomato, parmigiano Reggie no cheese, and basil $26), and their Brasato di Manzo (braised short rib, fontina cheese, and potato croquette $18). The pizza?? STAMP! The crust was crisp, and soft, the sauce had a hint of wine in it, the cheese was melted perfectly, and you tasted the meats freshness. The “Eggplant Parm” absolutely DELICIOUS!! Fresh, a lite density with the cheese, with a sauce that blended everything together for your palate! Lastly the short rib sammich was a STAMP too!! Tender well seasoned rib meat, that mozzarella stick put in the sandwich, the fontina cheese…PERFECTION!! This meal came with house made fries…it was sooo good y’all!! A must have!! Customer series’s decent, outside seating was available, the establishment was clean, online ordering was easy, and parking was so so. You MUST go try this spot!! REALLY…thank me later…get that sammich!! That’s it. #stellinapizzeria #bigschlimsreviews #braisedshortribsandwhich #eggplantparm #pizza #deliciousness #qualityfood #funfood #unionmarket #mozzarellasticks #housemadesausage #freshfriedchips #musthaves #go #thatsit
Response: Larry - It was so good to meet you the other day and I am SO glad you enjoyed everything! Thank you, mille grazie, for taking the time to write such a detailed and complimentary review of us. It was our pleasure, and I truly hope to see you again when life brings you by again. At your service, Nick L. nick@stellinapizzeria.com

Eric Gor: My new favorite restaurant in DC and by far one of the best pizza I've had in the US. If you like European style pizza, this is the place to go. The chef creates authentic Naples style pizza and everything is either house made or locally sourced (including a few of the alcohols). I got the meatball appetizer, the piccante pizza and the donuts for dessert. Everything was outstanding, and the staff was great. Will definitely be back

Paul Meijer: Being from Connecticut, the pizza capital of the world, we have a bit of a different understanding of what pizza is. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of totally different pizzas on their menu. The service is good the food is good and I even bought a bottle of hot oil to go. Especially good was the tiramisu. We liked the restaurant and will be back.

Lupo Pizzeria: what do users think?

Shamsher: I am not even hyping this place and if you read my other reviews you know how realistic they are. This place has one of the best pizzas I have ever tasted. This is not coming out of any excitement or anything else. I have been here twice and I am just in love with this place. Most of the top restaurants in DC offer mediocre food. Yes you read that right. Absolutely mediocre. But the small places like Lupo Verde and then Lupo Pizzeria win me over because of the amount of love they have in the food. Last night was my second visit. The service was excellent. I ordered the stuffed risotto balls and those were perfect. Cooked fresh, looked fresh and were an absolute delight. Ordered Carbonara 2.0 and egg yolk on pizza with the perfect amount of cheese was lovely. All in all 5/5 is what this place deserves and that’s my review.

Yara Gayar: The pizza was great! I ordered the truffle one and enjoyed it. It’s more of a soft crust than a crispy one, but delicious regardless. The tiramisu was definitely their top dessert we had.

Ashtaad Dalal: Great experience and really delicious food. The appetizer line up alone is worth the visit. Highlights were the fried artichoke and fritto misto. The carbonara and la diavola pizzas were delicious. Everything was extremely fresh. The service was outstanding. Thank you for a great experience, Gonzalo!

Belkiss Anane: My go-to for authentic Italian individual-sized pizzas. Love love he flavors and the simplicity that delivers! The Lupo Marino, the pistachio+burrata, and the carbonara are amongst my favorites!

Diego Alonso Vargas: I visited Lupo just to get a pizza with a friend and ended up finding all sorts of innovative and delicious dishes. The squid ink risotto balls stuffed with calamari ragú (see attached picture) were superb. The experience overall was excellent. Please do yourself a favor and visit this place.

Tanguy D: La DiavolaThe pizza looked amazing and tasted better! You can tell it’s fresh authentic pizza. Knocking one star because the delivery took forever.

LP: Cutest vibe inside! Painted white brick with pictures of shutters and hanging silk plants. A clothes line with Italian team jerseys running across the room. There’s a bookcase behind the bar that staff disappear through once in a while like a best kept secret. I had the avanccini that had calamari ragu and squid ink risotto and the carbonara 2.0 pizza. Yummy and unique. Great presentation and friendly staff. Things to note: tables are small and closely set. Music is loud enough conversation requires raised voices.

Tamar Schwartzman: Thank you to Fernando and Karen for the most amazing service. We had a private party to celebrate a graduation and they made our night so special. Additionally, the food was spectacular. I loved the spaghetti with meatball and beef ragu gnocchi. Finally, exceptional wine.

Grace Brang: The gnocchi with beef ragu is so delicious, one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in DC! Their pizza dough is phenomenal - get the focaccia and a couple of glasses of wine at the bar for the most relaxing Sunday night!

Nadine Alonzo: Are here by accident and was very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I’m used to American pizza not being as good as in Europe and was so happy to have this very delicious experience. The pizza dough and crust is delicious on its own.

All-Purpose Shaw: what do users think?

Saritha Athmakur: Aaah! This place was a mood! We went during the happy hour. Great food, great place. Both the “Standard “ pizza and the mushroom onion pizza was so yum. The best part is the crust. And for apps we ordered the cauliflower. I don’t want to eat cauliflower in any other way now 😂

Taylor Rafter: Stopped today for a birthday brunch. We've never been here before so I checked out the menu online ahead of time and I made reservations ahead of time.... The menu is not 🚫 up to date. The bottomless options are limited to mimosas 🥂 and spritzers for 90mins. The pizza 🍕 was good. The blt + e was great on focaccia bread 🍞. The Nutella banana bread was tasty. The cold brew was more bitter than expected, just my opinion I like fru fru coffee so I added milk and sugar. The staff was great 👍 our server was so sweet and brought out a birthday doughnut 🍩 with a candle, how CUTE?! Overall a good spot for brunch, I was only slightly disappointed in the bottomless drink options in comparison to the online menu. It is also in a great walking area, head to the DC Alley Art Museum to explore.

Philip Gordon: All Purpose has some of the best pizza I have ever had. Ingredients are fresh and authentic. Portions are just the right size. The personal pizzas are 12" pies but turn out closer to 14". The crusts are just right and thin on the bottom. The menu offers plenty of different options. Most guests seem to just order to go. If you are dining in there is a 20% gratuity automatically included with your order just so you are aware. Pizzas can be eaten in one sitting if you are extra hungry. You can also take pieces home. The pies reheat well.
Response: Hi Philip! Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're so happy to be on your list of best pizza!!! See you again soon.

Wade McManus: We had dinner here a month back while visiting dc and found ourselves talking about it again last night while experiencing bad service somewhere else in our hometown. I cannot recommend enough coming to A.P. and sitting at the bar to order food. Our bartender, Alex, was a clear fan favorite as everyone enjoyed his service - he had excellent suggestions, always topped off a drink before we even noticed it half full, and was the number one best thing about our dinner experience. The pizza, drinks, and tiramisu were great, don’t get me wrong, but we have since told all dc friends to visit this spot because of its superior service, and we’re still talking about it today. You just don’t get that kind of service everyday.
Response: Thank you for your review, Wade! We're so happy to be a part of your trip to DC. Hopefully, we'll see you again soon!

Mahdi Shirvin: There pizza was absolutely awesome.I will Eggplant dish made with skin off. 😕The waiters were nice and professional. The restaurant add 20% services fee to all checks.

Jimmy Matthews: Had a great experience here during restaurant week. Made reservations for Friday evening, the gentleman who took our reservation talked through seating options to maximize social distancing to ease my COVID anxiety. When we walked in, everyone’s vax cards were checked & the gentleman remembered us and we were seated early. Our waiter, Nick, was very attentive and patient as we asked questions about the food and beverage choices. He provided great dinner recommendations! Our party of 3 had Brussel sprouts, chicken parm arancini, and 3 different types of pizzas: delica-ssata, sedgewick, & tripper. All fabulous recommendations, tripper and sedgewick were our favorite. Pizzas cooked to perfection and delicious crust! Had the tiramisu for dessert and a few glasses of wine along the way. Stayed a while and enjoyed the lively atmosphere & service. Adding it to a favorite spot among so many good options in DC!

Bex Yukman: Fabulous experience from the moment I walked by at the end of a conference day. Prompt, attentive, and friendly staff asked immediately whether I wanted my water sparkling. When I ordered without any customizations, Jeb nonetheless verified I had no allergies. And no exaggeration - the pizza was the best of my life! Grateful.

Chris De Hoyos: Sunday brunch… we are not even done being here yet and this place is AAHHHMAZING! We had Baked Eggs ‘Toscana’, Buona Pizza and the Double Stuffed Fried Mozz to start.. let’s not even talk about the ‘Bottomless Mimosas’ which were never empty. Then top it all off the Roman ‘Maritozzi’ for a little piece of dessert heaven. We sat at the bar and the service was more than exceptional, great music in the background as well. If visiting like we are.. you must stop in! Hell if you live here you need to frequent!

Thais Pansani: Nice atmosphere. A little bit expensive (20 dollars a pizza), but the pizza is really good, worths the visit. The bread with garlic butter is amazing!

Food Enthusiast: Best pizza I have had in DC! The vibe inside the restaurant is also very nice and cozy! The food was ready very quickly and the waiter was very nice to us! Will definitely come back for pizza!
Response: Thank you for coming in! Can't wait to have you back again!

Christal Young: Came for lunch and tried their veggie pizza with vegan cheese and a few other modifications. The pizza was fresh, flavorful, and just overall good! I also had the vegan butter garlic sauce on the side and it really amped up the flavor even more. Pretty pricy but good nevertheless.
Response: Thank you so much

Jae Imj: I went this past Friday night with friends. 2 of us have to do gluten free dining. We were really happy with the pizza and pasta! They even had a personal cutter for my pizza, eliminating cross contamination concerns. Unfortunately no bathrooms for customers but otherwise we didn't have any issues and will be back. Great to have another tasty gluten free dining option!
Response: thank you so much for reviewing us we do have bathroom please next time ask some one show you bathroom

Mike Lyons: Wonderful owner showed us so much hospitality. Fresh salad with homemade dressing. Gluten free dairy free pizza. Outdoor and indoor seating. It’s very informal. Neighborhood pizza joint. They provided a personal pizza cutter to ensure no cross contamination.
Response: Thank you so much

Elizabeth Dou: Stopped by late and grabbed a pizza and mozzarella sticks. The pizza was good but definitely the greasiest pizza I’ve ever had. Food was ready and hot when we picked it up.
Response: Thank you

Eleanor Bokmeyer: Super accommodating to gluten free diners! I was so surprised to know the lengths they took to make sure everything was separate and safe. I can’t wait to dine there again! The owner came out and talked to me and showed a great understanding of the allergy and how important keeping everyone safe was to him. :)
Response: Thank you so much

Chanteé Hale: Went here to grab some Gluten-free stuffed shells, gluten free meatballs, and gf chocolate cake. The gluten free garlic bread was an extra awesome surprise. It was all excellent and didn't trigger any of my very sensitive allergies, so likely great for celiacs too. We sat on the patio to eat and the setting, decore, and shop in general brought me back to places we'd visited in Italy. Highly recommend!
Response: thank you so much

Joshua Roe: This place is extremely underrated. I'm giving 5 stars not because it's the best pizza in DC but it deserves far more than the current rating of 4.1. This is high quality takeout pizza. Crust was perfectly cooked, crunchy, chewy, delicious. Sauce could be a tad more flavorful but overall experience is way more satisfying than Etto or Pupatella. Do not expect gourmet but its very comparable to Pizza Policy IMO.
Response: thank you so much

Daniel Lopez: This place had to be the best pizza place In Washington DC. The price is pretty good for what they device and it’s great. The pizza is fresh, hot, and super tasty. There wings are even better and they deliver and dine so it was perfect for us. Has to be rated easily 10/10.
Response: Thank you so much

Steven Hernandez: Decent pizza... Not the nicest pizza makers I've met, but they were cordial...
Response: Thanks

Lorna Schmid: Great pizza!! Lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options! But meat lovers will be happy too. High flavor and very tasty.

Pi Pizzeria: what do users think?

Warman Hall: The group I was with while in Washington DC wanted to try this pizzeria. I'm very glad they did! I only have two options in pizza crust. Well I'm generally more of a fan of Chicago style than thin crust, some in the group had been there recommended the thin crust and I made the right choice. An excellent variety of pizzas and some really good tasting beer choices to go with it! All that and they have a family friendly environment also.

Kelly Lee: Very nice! I went in for happy hour. Bartender/server was nice. Garlic knots were amazing! But the deep dish pizza itself was little disappointing. It lacked flavor and the chunky tomato sauce didn't work well. The dough was very dry too. But other food was great. Speality pizza had a bunch of vegetables in it, if you don't like it you can customize it too.

Eric Meyer Music: Last night in DC and pizza was on our RADAR screen. Pi Pizza was close walking distance to our hotel so we gave it a try. Very glad we did. Friendly waitstaff had us seated and sipping very good Margaritas while looking the menu over. Nice atmosphere and bar looked like it would be a good place to be. They were out of Garlic Knots, surprising but they do receive high praise in other’s reviews. We opt for the dry rubbed and broiled veggies. These turned out to be a great choice, a nice mix of carrot planks, cauliflower and broccoli crowns all seasoned and charred to perfection and a solid starter for us, really tasty and accompanied by a cooling tzatziki type sauce. We ultimately went with a build your own thin crust pie, with basil pesto, mixed mushrooms and roasted garlic toppings. Wow, after the great veggies, this pizza was full of wonderful flavors. Piping hot with a nice crisp crust, just the right amount of sauce and cheese foundation to really let the other toppings shine. A really good pizza and we washed it down with a couple more Margaritas. Highly recommend Pi Pizza if you’re visiting DC and have a hankering for a great pie.

Christopher French: Amazing place. So beautiful inside. The staff is wonderful, friendly, professional, and helpful. The food is delicious with a number of combinations and pizzas where you can build your own. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Roman Pope: It's hard to describe the place without sounding pejorative, but it has these old hunter lounge chandeliers, old fast good diner tables with some 18th or older century portraits, brick walls and hip oldies meet new EDM music. Despite all this weird fusion atmosphere, the place is on the charming side. The service is nice and fast, albeit not the most professional at times from the staff that isn't serving you directly. The food is great, and the pizza ingredients are splendid. You can pretty much build anything your mind can ever imagine about what a perfect pizza is to your taste buds. I wouldn't say it's on the pricey side, but be prepared to spend anywhere between 50 to 70$ with everything included for two people. PS The place also does have a kid's crayons and kids cups so it's nice that it thinks of the little ones.

Adam Busby: Excellent deep dish pizza. Tasted great, service was quick and friendly. Parking is pretty easy to find in a garage or on the street. I have no complaints. Inside is huge and we waited 5 minutes to be seated after they opened on a Friday. Would definitely recommend if you are in the Capital for the day.

Kevin Cevallos: Awesome experience all around! Atmosphere, service, food and price were all great. Started with the Garlic knots, which I didn't think were gonna be that out of the ordinary, but man was I wrong. They were baked perfectly and were bursting with cheese. They had an amazing flavor and they were the perfect mix of cheesy, doughy, and crispy. For the main, we had the Western deep dish pizza. Let me just say wow, there was no complaints at all. The dough, sauce, ingredients and crust were all amazing. The crust was crisp and somehow crumbly at the same time, which was awesome. For desert we had the apple pie, which was just as top notch as the whole meal. Everything was awesome and I would come back in a heartbeat!

Chomar: Excellent service excellent food an excellent happy hour where local craft beers are only $5 an a slice of thin crust pizza is $4.50. Prices are fair an the deep dish Chicago south side pizza is amazing. The environment is clean and the waiters are always friendly an serve you with a smile. I highly recommend.

Randy Cornett: This gluten free crust was fantastic! It has a nice buttery taste with a crisp bottom and soft, chewy inside. Manager and server were super friendly and helpful too! Beyond the crust, we enjoyed the sauce and great toppings on ‘the hill’ pizza.

Pat Eats: Located right next to Capital One Arena, this is a perfect place for a slice before a Caps game. If you’re looking for Chicago Deep Dish in D.C., Pi Pizzeria is top of the list! Follow pat_eats_ on Instagram for more reviews!

La Villa Pizzeria: what do users think?

Emily Naden: So good! Ordered 7 pizzas online directly from the shop (no third party) for a birthday party and they arrived quick and hot! The pizza was great. Regular cheese, spicy chicken, chicken pesto, pepperoni and even a Hawaiian (I can't stand them but someone loved it). The spicy chicken and chicken pesto were huge hits! We look forward to ordering again!

Maria Quiles: I love this place. Do yourself a favor order ahead of when you need it, the demand is hive and they stay busy. Love their crust and cheese. Reminds me a little bit of the New York City slices but smaller. I recommend it.

Sam Moore: Pizza just wasn't good. Buffalo wings were average at best and the mozzarella sticks were horrible. We actually had to put the mozzarella sticks in the air fryer to make them edible. the pizza was hard and just not tasty. We NEVER throw pizza away and we threw 4 slices away. We had a pepperoni and sausage and caramelized onion and spinach. Wanted to support a local spot and that's why I'm not giving them 1 star.
Response: Sam, thanks for your review. We want all our customers to have an amazing experience so we're so sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the food. We've really thought about your comments and hope you’ll give us another chance.

Fatima Clark: First time trying La Villa Pizza and the whole family loved it ! Very quick delivery and the Pizza taste so good !Update : Our 5 or 6th order so far and it is the only place we order pizza and wings from ! The wings are so good 👍🏾Just love the food

Brianna Ingram: This was really good pizza. Clearly fresh ingredients, and pride and care went into it. I was happy. I ordered through Slice. As a fair warning, I think they use grubhub to deliver, so it took maybe 35 minutes to get to me after I got the Slice notification that it was on its way, but that's not their fault. I'll just go pick up next time.

Christopher Murt: Great food and affordable prices. I have tried the pizza, sandwiches, and calzones and all have been great quality.

Miss E: This place just reopened after being closed for a couple years because they had a fire. They are very popular in the neighborhood and beloved by their patrons. Personally I think it's some of the best pizza and the area. There are dishes like eggplant parmesan et cetera, are always crowd pleasers. I've known many a new Yorker who often snubs their nose at DC pizzas but they seem to be satisfied by that is fired by La Villa.

Madison Clark: First time in the area and tried this place.Pizza is good and was delivered hot; wonderful meal! The driver was really sweet and right on time

trevor Alexander: Most restaurants are to over hype, with Techno music or overprice menus. Plus, they draw too much attention and to much attitude that's isn't really wanted. The staffing here takes ur order and listening, seriously. I don't know how many times, I've ordered a large. Pizza with Black Oliver's, Chicken or Anchovy. And each time, it just tastes better than before. Or maybe I’m just that hungry, I don't know, maybe. Right before celebrating Mother's Day May 2, 2019. I decided to order a few barbecue chicken. Once again, I wasn't disappointed. As you can see, I'm not an all out, let's paint the town red type of dude. But enjoying a meal is something, I still enjoy. Affordable and tasteful.

Rachel Morris: Not sure how this is still in business. Lasagna was beyond burnt and had a weird bland taste. There were parts of it with green in it. The tiramisu was still frozen inside and tasted like cheap store bought. The bread on my sandwich was completely burnt. I just threw my food away and re ordered from somewhere else.

Angelico Pizzeria: what do users think?

Dominique Gupton: The guy at the register was so rude about me paying with Apple Pay . I ordered here three days ago no problem paying with Apple Pay then today it was a different guy from my first time he was very rude about using Apple Pay the pizza is great the customer service sucks be better …

Lora Brown: Soooooooo good and an actually good size pizza for a family of 4. Found this place based of a relative who use to come here A LOT I agree with her too it's bomb pizza 🍕

Chuck Myntti: I went to order a pizza to take away. I ordered an xtra large split half way as a veggie and half as a spicy meatlovers. When I was waiting I was reading the reviews in here and I was thinking, "oh man, what have I gotten myself into?" because of all of the negative reviews. I was handed the big box with my pizza inside, walked home with it, and discovered a very good, world class pizza! The crust was just right. The sauce was just right. The toppings were excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep making excellent pizzas!!
Response: Chuck, Thank you for supporting us and trusting us in serving you a wonderful, clean, fulfilling meal to you. We try our best to provide the best possible service and food for our community. We can't wait to welcome you back for another awesome experience soon:)

Axel Corlu: Tiny, mediocre pizza delivered ice cold, absolutely awful, stringy, tasteless wings that we had to throw out after two bites, and stale cannoli like cardboard. This is what we received for the privilege of paying over $50. Never again.

Ashley M: First, 5 stars on delivery time. I ordered online at 7:09 and the delivery guy arrived at 7:35 (on a Wednesday night). The knocked off stars were because the supreme pizza was just meh, especially for the price. The toppings were bland and I just wasn’t impressed. The crust was thick and fluffy though, which I liked.
Response: Ashley, Thank you for your feedback. We have been in business for 10 + years. We stand by the highest quality ingredients, large portions, authentic food, and hygiene which makes our community value us. We are always open to altering our dishes according to your taste and preferences! We love to serve our community in the best way possible. If there is ever any desire on food taste etc please feel free to let us know the specifics on how you may want your dish prepared. We will try to do our best for you :) Hope to have you dine in again and we will prove why Angelico Pizzeria is loved by the entire community.

bobby marcelo: We heard a lot of good things about this place and our expectations were pretty high but sadly we end up very disappointed. We had 10 Angelico's Wings and they were awful, not cooked all the way through. My wife's Fettucino Alfredo was very creamy and bland. Apart from the food been unpleasant, the person working there by the name of Alex is absolutely nasty. He was touching his noise while handing people's pickup orders, and didn't even bother to wear a mask nor wash his hands. He has a very bad attitude, unprofessional, and needs to either work on his work ethics or simply be replaced. We will give this place another try in the future.

Christian Marsh: We like Angelico's pizza. It's just that, like others here have said, there's often something wrong with the order. Usually, we just live with it. Tonight, we paid for two XL pizza's and were delivered two large pizzas. I called and all I got from the guy who answered the phone was argument about how he could not have been wrong because he'd filled the order himself. First he said that we'd ordered large pizzas and that's what we got. When I asked him to look at the receipt, which showed that we were charged for two XL pizzas, he changed his mind and said that's what we got. I gave up. Good pizza, just don't be surprised/disappointed if your order's not right.

dkimtj: Ordered take out well in advance (at least 2 hours in advance) and was told that it would be ready before the pick up time. When I showed up, nobody was at the front. I saw that people in the back clearly saw me. Nobody came up front to assist. So after waiting 5 mins, asked if anybody could help and that I had ordered pick up. They said that somebody would come up front. Waited probably another 10 mins. Inly when the phone rang, did somebody come up to answer. I told the guy that I had ordered pick up. He finally checked and said that it was ready. ??? Why make someone wait for takeout when it was ready? What's with the lack of customer these days? I thought the food industry was suffering. Apparently these guys are doing well enough not to take care of the customers.
Response: dkimtj, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate your review and apologize for your unsatisfactory experience. Any error found in our operations procedures is taken very seriously by us. We take our commitment to provide great food and service to every guest. We are going to use that as a learning opportunity to become better. We look forward to serving you again and please let us know how we can assist you prior to any of your visits.

Avery Larson: Food was good got a very good calzone was ready quickly, highly recommend for a take out spot 👌

Shaniqua Henson: The wrist service I gave your delivery man 5 dollars and for what I didn't get my order my pizza didn't come with what I ordered on it and then my pasta came with bread but my bread had a bug on it. then my pizza wasn't made properly just very unsatisfied with everything I don't understand why anybody is giving them a four or five star when they don't deserve that nor do they deserve a one star y'all should be ashamed of y'all selves
Response: Shaniqua, Thank you for sharing your concern. We are sorry that your experience didn't match your expectation. We would like to reconcile any issue that you had with our food & service. This is definitely an uncommon occurrence at Angelico Pizzeria and we do not want to lose your business. Please let us know what we can do to make things right. Please email us the pictures if you have to angelicopizzeriacontactus@gmail.com and we will try our best to fix this as soon as possible. We look forward to serving you again.

Pupatella: what do users think?

Jacqueline Telljohann: A friend told me that the Mimosa Pizza from this place was their all time favorite pizza, so we had to try it when we were in DC. My husband and I shared: - Frittura Sampler - Mimosa Pizza - Chorizo Pizza I was really impressed by the Frittura Sampler. Every single thing on it was fantastic. Both pizzas were delicious, but I preferred the Mimosa Pizza. Corn on pizza sounds a little weird, but it was so good. I'm sure any of the pizzas with the cream sauce are amazing. I would definitely come back to try more of their pizza.
Response: Thanks for your review! We look forward to serving you again in the near future!

Walt Kosty: Staying at an Air BNB just around the corner Pupatella was an easy walk on a chilly evening. Although the outside patio was inviting we chose indoor. Grab a menu and find your own seat and place your order at the front. This was unusual but our table was well serviced by staff who bring plates and water upon seating and drinks and food promptly. It was more of a free form wait service which was perfect, informal yet attentive. For a Friday night it was fairly quiet but they were busy. The large screen in our dining area was an overhead view of the kitchen preparing the pizzas and they were busy busy so I assume the takeout and delivery were booming. The five stars is for friendly and engaging wait staff and the tasty pizza. Crusts are thin and slightly pliable more like a pita with the rim of the dough perfect with a light char from the wood fire. Ingredients were fresh and quite good. I could go on, because there’s a great back story to the place, but know this, they have multiple locations in the DC area so if you’re traveling here like we are, you should definitely give Pupatella a try if you like good pizza cooked in the Neapolitan style…only wish we had one in our town but finding a restaurant like this is part of the beauty of traveling, and then there’s the beauty of lefties for tomorrow. “Al buon cibo!”
Response: Thanks for your kind words, Walt! We hope to see you when you're back in the area!

Empress 23 moon: I enjoyed the specialty pizzas, salad and appetizers and it was Outstanding! Customer service was Outstanding too,and they went far and beyond to provide us with great customer service.
Response: Thanks for your review! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a note about your visit!

Andrew Washington: I was excited to try this place and placed a DoorDash order before heading out. I talked to someone on the phone and they recommended 2 pizzas for 2 people which seemed perfect. Let’s just say we were EXTREMELY disappointed with what we received. One pizza burnt without cheese, and the other COMPLETELY soaked in grease. The two of us tried share some of the more “edible” pizza before having to head out still hungry. Would love some feedback if this is the norm from this place??

Norman M. Wereley: Ordered three pizzas: calabrese, diavolo, and the “pig and fig”. All were quite good! We ate our dinner al fresco on the sidewalk tables. Service was also quick and quite good. Food must be ordered in advance at the counter and then it is delivered to your table.

pamela sloan: My friends and I enjoyed our individual pizzas, the atmosphere, and great service. It was a great experience for visiting DC.

Joseph Tierney: Had late-night delivery pizza and bruscetta. They have right right ingredients, but somehow can make it taste good. You're literally better off ordering from a pizza chain.
Response: Hi Joseph - It doesn't sound like your visit lived up to expectations. We'd love to learn more about your order. Can you please email us at Social@Pupatella.com so that we can discuss?

JP LH: Good pizzas, really fluffy. Simple flavours but tasteful. The service was friendly but a bit expeditious… Prices are very reasonable

Hanna Ozbeki: had the mushroom pizza! it was good but there was a missing taste component tothe pizza - would still return, great vibes and good service!
Response: Thanks for your review, Hanna, we hope to serve you again in the future!

Mauricio O: Ordered 2 pizzas through UberEats, and both were inedible (so we wasted $50 because we couldn't eat them): - pizza was soggy and cold - mushrooms were very salty (seemed to be the canned kind) - dough was also very salty
Response: So sorry to hear about your experience. If you haven't reached out to us yet, can you please email Social@Pupatella.com? Thank you.

Bacio Pizzeria: what do users think?

Rebecca Wolf: I love Bacio so much. I used to come here with a whole crew of vegan runners after a long run and we were so deeply taken care of at this neighborhood gem. I just ordered a delivery order for margarita with light vegan cheese and heavy sauce and they so beautifully made me a little pie with love and GARLIC. Bacio is the pizza place for pizza lovers alike! Vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. They take special care and exude hometown vibes.

Aurora Williams: Truly the best pizza in DC. The right amount of sauce, a lovely crunch, and great topping options... I feel very lucky to live so close. They definitely cater to take away, but the dine in experience is perfectly lovely as well.

Jennifer Truong: Fantastic pizza and service! Highly recommend if you're in the neighborhood. Got the Bloomingdale (their most popular) and the Common Good. The Bloomingdale was good, but we preferred the Common Good, which we personalized by adding Italian sausage and pepperoni - delicious! The sauce, the crust, the ingredients - so good! And for dessert, we had the Coppa Three Chocolate Cake - to die for! So creamy and rich, but not overly so.

Christopher Tucker: Oh my Gosh! Delicious pizza sauce, delicious pizza! Just the Margherita with sausage and a small at that. Could've shared a small pizza. Also, got an Arugula salad that was enough for 2 but still yummy. Highly recommend this place, a hidden gem! Service also amazing.

Brett Syndergaard: Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Five stars for five yesses. Pizza was phenomenal. Fresh mozz? Yes. Fresh basil? Yes. Delicious crisp prosciutto? Yes. Tangy rich tomate sauce? Yeeeeessssssss!!!! Buy this pizza. Then send your wife back an hour later to get dessert because it's so good. They got a cup of pudding that somehow is the exact taste and texture of Ferrero Rocher. How that work?

Ormond Derrick: I got the large 1 topping pizza with ham. A good pizza and sure it would have been better with some more toppings but I thought it was alright for what I got and the price. Definitely will be back to try their speciality pizzas because they smelled amazing and my roommate enjoyed here. I will say their deserts are PHENOMENAL. I got the Carmel something, (forget the name as it was 2 days ago) but it’s like a flan cake. Probably one of the best deserts I’ve ever had. Friend got the tiramisu and was equally impressed. Amazing desert spot

Lissa H: The calzone was delicious! The dough was fresh and baked to perfection while the inside was full of wonderful melted cheese and fillings. You could tell it was a neighborhood favorite as the staff greeted customers by name. Highly recommend trying it.

Cathy Hermanson: Visiting from Cape Cod, MA everything was delicious pizza, salad, sautéed Brussels sprouts, cheese sticks. The service was outstanding and lastly ice cream for dessert. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Caleb Goddard: Great pizza. I definitely recommend ordering a pizza from the menu, rather than choosing toppings on your own. I also recommend getting a large versus a small - the taste is better as the crust, toppings and sauce are distributed better. I recommend the Shaw and the Bloomingdale. Excellent pizzas!!

Joe Brophy: A delicious pizza place I chose for my birthday dinner... and was not disappointed. As vegetarians we had the Crispus Attucks and the No. 81 and they were both amazing. A cozy and comfy vibe and good service also made us feel very at home. We will be back!

Timber Pizza Company: what do users think?

Mischa: This is a very cute little place that serves mainly Argentinian-style empanadas, pizza, coffee, beer, and more. On weekends they open from 8am to 1pm, then they reopen again at 5pm. Unfortunately (as of this writing at least), they only serve breakfast empanadas and no pizza during the first opening. So you have to come back after 5pm if you want pizza or pork empanadas. Another downside is that there are three empanadas in each order, and they all have to be the same kind, so you cannot get one squash empanada and one pork empanada. Other than that, all else was good!

Onyinyechi A: Came by here because I was looking for some good pre π day pizza and they didn't disappoint. I did the half Bentley half pepperoni. Had some pork empanadas and ended it with a la mode vanilla gelato and a cookie. Everything was amazing. Staff was awesome 5 out of 5

Brie W.: Okay. Listen here. This place is WONDERFUL. I’ve never had a pizza this good. It’s really inexpensive for such high quality food and we have plans to bring family here when they visit from out of state. It’s interior is tiny but SOOO cute. We will be coming back to this place again. The sweet bar tender was very knowledgeable as well so don’t be afraid to ask questions. The whole staff seems to care about you and it feels really welcoming.

R N: Excellent pizza! The dough is amazing very fluffy and light. The outside seating was very rustic and the vibe as real! The staff was very helpful and courteous. Highly recommended!

Michael Roosa: Amazing window seat with awesome empanadas, Penelope pizza, and a nice cold iPa. Couldn't get much better. Another satisfied customer :-)

Amber Anderson: One of my favorite spots! The Bentley pie is my go-to, but the pies are on the smaller side so it's fun to get a couple pies to mix it up (and have leftovers for a day or two). For brunch, get the veggie, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwich with hot honey for dipping. The biscuits are basically dripping with butter and that's how it should be.

C J.: Great pizza, you can customize a pizza to be more vegetarian-friendly, but I’m not sure have many mods are allowed! It can get busy, so prepare for a wait, but pizza comes out fast and hot!! Call before to make sure they're still open if you come on Monday or Tuesday!! Love it

Aminah Imani: They don’t do slices. So I didn’t eat pizza, I didn’t want to waste food. I saw plenty of ppl with take out boxes. So come extra hungry if you want pizza. The bar is a cool spot. I only came here because I was in the area.

Remo Molino: Awesome pizza and amazing salad. All fresh ingredients. Thin crust. Wood fired oven. Local spring mix salad with fresh radishes and peas. All healthy and amazing taste. Two picnic tables inside and two outside. Lots of take out. Order takeout online or call. Wine, beer and gelato dessert. Restaurant is super clean as is the unisex restroom. All employees are quiet and super efficient. They have a good system here.

Christopher Hyde: -Food was good.-Soda’s were warm-Rude bartender: I asked for a cup and he said no. Then gave everyone at the bar cups for their beer. I had to use this super small medal cup for water.

Robert Rivas W.: Extraordinary!! and I do not exaggerate what I say. the dough is absolutely perfect, the ingredients fresh and top quality. The spotless place very clean and the staff very attentive and cheerful. It opens until 2am which is very convenient for those of us who arrive late at the hotel.

C F: Pretty decent pizza! Especially if you order by the slice and have them stick it back in the oven for a little extra time so the cheese gets melty. Stopped in for a couple quick slices. They are BIG slices which is awesome. Came out hot with a pretty decent crusty crust. Would definately try a slice if you are looking for some hot pizza. Some indoor seating with tables or take to-go.

Luis Cristian: This is some of the best pizza I've had. Went with a group of 8 and we were all really happy. The flavor of the pizza was top notch and honestly some of the best I have had. The size of the pizza was also fairly large. Overall impressed with the restaurant atmosphere and interior. It is not your regular pizza joint that has grease at every corner. This place looked great. Only thing I would recommend is an expansion of their drink selection. I didn't see any 2 liter sizes, but then again I'm not from DC and perhaps that's what their clientele desires. 5 stars
Response: Dear Luis! We are glad to see you enjoyed our pizza and service with your friends or family! Since we have limited space and high volume costumers on the weekends. Large size drinks didn’t work out in the past.however since you mentioned we may keep couple options for large groups Respectfully DuPont pizza

Victor Zuliani: Just got your pizza. Delivered to Hotel Lambardi. It's supposed to be a supreme. It's terrible. Hardly any sausage. Hardly any peppers. Barely any onions.
Response: Hi Zuliani, thanks for the feedback. We take care with every order but it sounds like we missed the mark this time. We're really sorry and hope to see you again soon

Alicia Coleman: After a long 3 Hour drive, I stopped to get pizza and it was nice and burnt when I got to my hotel to eat it, it’s a real disappointment. Then when I called to talk about it they act like they were confused about what was going on.
Response: Dear Alicia, Our deepest apologies for the inconvenience and your experience. We use stone oven unfortunately it does happen sometimes. When the pizza looks totally fine on the top and bottom burnt. We always advise our cashier to double check any pizza given to our costumer. Please call us to issue you full refund. Respectfully DuPont pizza

Ashwini Yelamanchili: Slices are HUGE, with good crust and sauce. I don’t know what it looked like before the remodel, but the interior is bright and clean and the stafff is always super friendly. This is the perfect spot in Dupont when you’re craving a slice.

Brandon Fitch: Pizza is literally larger than the plate its served on and is still firm and EXTREMELY delicious. For a QUARTER piece of an 18' pie it's only $6 and with the late closing time is great for an after bar munch.

Tyson Paulson: Great pizza and a good value. The space is a bit uninspired. A late night table of avid chess players helped liven things up a bit. A slice on the run is a no-brainer.

Peggy Watson: Y’all have to come to DuPont Pizza if you come to DC. Best slice. Literally oral orgasm everytime I come.

J 4: (updated: Standing in line and watching the counter attendant actively discriminate.) Never saw this behavior again. They have a sign posted at the front ALL are welcome. Best slice in DC for a couple reasons. $5 for basically two slices. But it's also thin crust, flavorful dough, good cheese. It doesn't need much else made this way. I'm glad they got their lives.

Flippin' Pizza: what do users think?

qtpie5212: I’m always looking for great gluten free pizza. I hit the jack pot here at Flippin Pizza! The staff are always family friendly and you can tell they care about their community! I just wanted to hug them because they just warmed my heart and filled my stomach! 🍕♥️💛

Matthew Towell: Ordered a pizza online. Showed that they closed at 8pm. Took our money and said would be ready in 20 min. Showed up to pick up the pizza at 7:45 and the place is already closed even though on the door it says it closes at 8pm. Shouldn't be able to take your money online if they are not making the pizza.

Jordan Smith: Horrible Experience. I would never support this business ever and recommend everyone to try another pizza spot. The owner of the business is rude and unprofessional. I literally was dropping off something to a store and literally was in and out within 30 seconds and the owner took my tag numbers and said "you cant park there" as his female associate was pointing and talking on her phone.. excuse me but DC has street parking which is public parking. Secondly your job tittle is a pizza spot owner not DC parking enforcement. I would stick Pizzeria Paradiso or &Pizza down the street.

Darrin Thompson: Great job my group had a Flippin' good experience. Pep rolls are on point! 🍕, 🥗, and baked meatballs each spectacular! No photos this time, but would definitely recommend!!

Anthony Karlin: Some of the best pizza I've ever had, and I've had lots of pizza! (I've been to New York and Italy, so that really says something). Also, if you like spices and herbs, you'll absolutely love their Flippin' Fireblend! To top it off they have the new coke machine too which is awesome :)

Ricky Jamz (Ricky): Great pizza and service… Vegetarian Pizza is the best I’ve ever had!

Sarah Boyer: The employee tonight (12/15) was just so nice!!! She gave wonderful recommendations (get the buffalo chicken!) & my food came out quick and the crust is extra delicious : )

Lindsay Bigda: Advertising same food under other names on delivery platforms to try to hide their negative reviews (e.g., Pizza & Salad). Tried canceling an order immediately and they would not waive a $20 “cancellation fee” - more than the cost of the food!

Dave Watts: It's just not that good a pizza place. They offer five or six slices, and none look like they're cooked all the way. There aren't many places nearby where you can get a slice, unfortunately.

Craycray Hehe: 30 mins for one pizza? Hell no do not recommend one bit take your business somewhere else people there are rude as well

We, The Pizza: what do users think?

Bethsabe Alvarez: Smells so good from outside! The place offers a wide variety of combinations. Salads are included in the menu. 1- Customer service was good, they answered my questions, 😊. 2- Food was very good, I ordered half Ham & Pineapple, half Marketplace (this one I loved it). They offer a homemade sodas, I ordered the Blood Orange... delicious soda 😍. 3- Price per Slice 🍕 $4-$5 I think is over the average. Price for a Medium 14" $21, fair. 4-Place, my table was kinda dancing, I ate outside. Probably it could be better. But inside, the smell and menu presentation was great. For me the 5 star is because the homemade soda and the people who is working there, they're doing a good job. Thank you!

Rena Correia: THE BEST PIZZA!!!! It was SO GOOD!!! I wish I could have eaten more!! Crunchy crust and lots of toppings!! Check out all the different pies in the pictures!! They had everything you could think of! So so good!!!!

Silica st (A violated fox): Pizza was fresh out the oven. It looked really good but the flavor was average. And for 30 bucks I was hoping for more. I feel like a 10 dollar frozen pizza taste better then this one sadly. Wings were tasty so that's a plus

Amy Tucker: This place came highly recommended to us by a friend. We ordered through delivery app after a long day of sight seeing. The pizza was fairly priced. The crust was delicious and the toppings worked really well together. It was so fragrant that when we went to take our first bite our mouths literally began to water. We order the Capitol Supreme, may need to try another before we leave town!

Ha Dong: Really good, freshly made pizza with many toppings to choose from. I love to try all topping if im back in town again. Right by the capitol

mary thomas: OMG some of the BEST pizza i ever had other than my mother's and Nephew [ who learned from his Nana]. Loaded w toppings, tasty dough, does not FLOP over when you pick it up. Perfectly cooked and lots of choices for by the slice purchase. They also have beer and super friendly staff.

Forrest Jackson-Knorr: Pizza is delicious. Delivery is horrible. My pizza was delivered cold and like the photo below. I only live one block from the store but it took delivery person 30 minutes to deliver once he left the restaurant. I would normally walk to the restaurant and pick it up, but I had surgery and wasn’t able. Deliver person had his pants down to his knees. When dealing w the public your employees should look professional. Owner called me to advise me that the manager would make it right. I never heard from the manager. 🤷‍♂️. Just like the manager wouldn’t answer the phone the night the pizza was delivered like in the photo.

Chad Godfirnon: Delicious pizza by the slice or whole pie btons of options including vegan and vegetarian choices. Fast service and inside and outside seating. The Vegan pie was really tasty and flavorful.

Y B: Picked up 3 pizzas: one turned out to come with "nuts". We don't really have a nut allergy but common sense says not to eat metal. Good thing one of the eagle-eyed guest spotted it before anyone broke a tooth or choked on it.

Alex Culver: Best pizza on the world(like others said) or best pizza on the planet! Sat directly in from of window where they were constructing each pizza. Amazing. A must eat!

Etto: what do users think?

Ignacio Alvarez Gussoni: Great cocktails, chic italian resto. Friendly staff! Great decor.

thomas green: If you’re looking for super thin, crispy, decadent pizza then you need to get to Etto. Casual spot that serves up some classy cocktails, great wines and amazing pies. I’d highly recommend it if you’re on 14th

Alida “Ally” Pham: This place is small-scale but great! Food is super yummy! Very quick service. Comes out almost just after you order it. Wait staff is great, and has great recommendations. Pizza is super thin and crispy! Cauliflower pizza is definitely a new favorite. Every bite is heavenly! They have some amazing appetizers and dessert options for those who wish to eat a more full meal. Come sit at the bar casually or dine in the restaurant. Great place to take friends or a date. Will have to go back to try some of the other options... :) no photos of appetizers: was too darn hungry!

Ryan McGorty: Etto puts together a comprehensive and creative menu of pizzas, cured meats, wines, and even a few interesting salads. It can be a bit frustrating to go through every item, so focus on the pizzas and the salamis (and a salad, if you want to be healthy). The staff is friendly, attentive, and ready to answer any questions you have. We started off with a Frisee, red endive, and grapefruit salad with gorgonzola dressing and pine nuts which left enough dressing and flavor to smear the bread in. If you’re going to pick something from the cured meats, make sure you try the fennel pollen or the hand-sliced prosciuto di parma. We really came here to try out the pizza, though. Having a strong connection to 2 Amys, we were expecting an impressive pizza. It is different from 2 Amys, but in a refreshing way. The crust is the foundation of success and uniqueness for Etto’s pizza. Apparently, the dough is made using freshly milled flour each day on a stone mill and bakes at a higher temperature in their oak-fired pizza oven which translates to a thin, but firm crust that won’t droop when you pick up your first slice. Nice and crunchy – we loved the crust – but the ingredients weren’t overshadowed. There are some interesting combinations, so we selected two – the margherita (very good but could’ve benefitted from a bit more cheese) and the potato patata chorizo tomato (the chorizo and peppers made this pizza our winner). Each pizza is sized for one hungry individual, so order enough to encourage sharing. If you can only have one thing on the menu, go with a pizza that features some of their meats. We were full and couldn't fit any dessert in (sadly), but the assorted candies caught my eye. I'll try them next time. The restaurant is located in the trendy and busy 14th St corridor right across from Le Diplomate. The interior is cozy, and nicely done – the food and oven are on showcase. There is an outdoor patio for when the weather permits. They open at 5 on weekdays and noon on weekends. Be advised that they don’t do reservations, so try to get there right at 5 and you can enjoy the restaurant before all the other loud patrons arrive.

John Coplen: I love this place. Charming and always a fantastic selection of Sicilian wine. But you come for the pizza! Something about their sauce is just 👌🏼👌🏼! My favorite is the Salami but they sometimes have this Vongole that is killer good! Capers and hot peppers! Manila Clams was also just rated one of the best dishes in DC.

Margrit Wenzel: Such good brick oven pizza! Braised cauliflower salad with housemade bread, omg. Mini arancini balls, holy yum. Pepperoni Napoletano pizza, yes yes yes. Good vibes, good food, good wine, good price. What else could you ask for. A must visit for a quick meal in DC.

Michael Barluk: Your food is great! But I really resent having a 20% service charge added to a take out order- especially when I would have tipped. Not cool.

Rebecca Mulderry: Food was fabulous, rich flavors and great combinations! Staff was so nice and attentive. Definitely will be back!

Charles Murphy: Horsd'oeuvres we're outstanding, pizzas were tasty and large enough to share with two.

Il Ja: Like others, I was caught by surprise seeing the 20% service fee on my take-out order. A simple pizza came out at USD 28. Seriously, this is a joke. What „service“ is that supposed to cover that is not included in the USD 23 base price? For a pickup order with no service whatsoever. And how are they not mentioning that at the beginning?

Jumbo Slice Pizza: what do users think?

Cheri L: I had jumbo slice for the first time in 9+ years after moving away from the dmv, and let me tell you this place still hits the exact same. My partner tried to order an entire pizza, but the lady at the counter informed him they didn’t do that, so he ordered 4 jumbo slices. They unfortunately, put them all in one box, but he realized that he screwed up by ordering 4 pieces for 1 pregnant lady lol. Needless to say it was our lunch and dinner for the following day and night.

Cara Lea: Pizza was absolutely amazing. Owners were kind and proficient. Prepare to never go hungry again because one slice is actually just a whole pizza in disguise

Xena Chevres: The pizza was very good but the reason why I am rating it a 3 star is because the place smelt really bad and looked very dirty. While I was waiting for my food a separate customer was about to enter the building but then turned around after stepping inside due to the bad smell. For my first time in Washington DC it wasn't to bad but the place it's self needs to look a little more professional. Pizza was nice though!

heyitsred !: Talk about quality pizza bigger than your head! My boyfriend and I spent $20 total and couldn't finish our slices. Absolutely delicious! This is a must visit budget friendly spot in dc!

bettel solomon: I called to ask for delivery and they hung up on me. This is the second incident where they have treated me as a unwanted stepchild. 2 weeks ago I called and ordered 2 pepperoni pizzas when I came In I paid for my food and it was 2 cheese pizzas. I informed them that the order was wrong and they gave me an Attitude and it took 25 mins to remake 2 jumbo slices. I would personally never eat here again.
Response: We’re sorry you didn’t have a better experience with us. Quality and accuracy of orders are important to us, so we'll be looking into what happened here. Again, so sorry.

Timothy Chanthamala: Consistent Flavor and Quality. FYI the more holes in the wall the better the food haha

Baj Khan: #JumboSlice is a fixture in #AdMo-- one that can't be imitated or replicated 😏 I used to hit this spot up after a night of clubbing wit my lil sis or just on a quick snack/lunch run while out walking dogs 🐶🐾🐩🐕 It's just like I remembered #IT, although they did move to a more open space since #COVID. It almost felt like a dance floor in that joint 💃🕺🍕 and the pizza is classic. Great service too! 🤙🤟🤘👌✌️👄😜😁

Yordi Ayele: No vegan options at night and the staff is rude about it when you ask. They don’t have a single option for vegan people in 2022. I will never come back again.
Response: We're so sorry for the bad experience. Comments like yours show us what we need to work on. Thanks for helping us improve.

Crystal Stafford: Jumbo slice taste pretty good, sweet sauce.

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: Yep...I went here, I was in the area so...why not!?! We’ve all been here (those of us that have experienced the Adams Morgan/U St., nightlife scene that is).Located at 2341 18th St., N.W. Washington D.C. #jumboslicedc has been around for quite some time now. This food has acted as a savior for me, and many others, after nights filled with debauchery, and hedonism in the aforementioned areas of the city!! You eat some of this slice, you get home, you take another bite, you pass out!! That’s it!! Fold this pizza in half...you have an instant Stromboli!! Please don’t attempt to eat this super sized slice like you would a regular sized slice...the results could be fatal to your nice “stepping out” outfit!! TRUST!! Now if your in Adams Morgan, you’ll find a different Jumbo Slice every block, and a half!! You can’t miss them. This particular spot does have additional toppings (at about $1 each, the cheese pizza-pictured was $7) like pepperoni, sausage, onions, jalapeños, black olives, green peppers, pineapple, ham, even Buffalo chicken. You don’t have to get a Jumbo slice either, they have 12””-16” sized pies, calzones, fries, onion rings and Gyros. Look...this is a fun food, and on the low...they use a higher quality mozzarella/provolone cheese blend, that’s a tad bit more dense than having just mozzarella. Don’t forget to add the grated Parmesan cheese, and the red pepper flakes!!This slice is a must have in DC...it’s a bucket list item!! Try it...that’s it. #jumboslicepizza #cheese #adamsmorgan #staple #cheapeats #drunkfood #bigschlimsreviews #washingtondc #parmesan #redpepperflakes #latenights #foodie #musttry #bucketlist #thatsit

Wiseguy Pizza: what do users think?

Q: Solid pizza slices with interesting choices. It's the version of NY pizza where the slices are a bit thicker and you have that crunchy bottom, not the foldable slice ones. We had the Nashville Hot Chicken, Korean Chicken, Mushroom Truffle, and Buffalo. I personally would have liked the hot/spicy slices to have been spicy, but it was pretty much offset by the ranch or cabbage mix on the slice. Wasn't too busy before the Caps game... perhaps because it's a few blocks from the Arena. I'd return to try some of the other flavors.

Sajud Hamza: If you looking for a late night snacking wise guy pizza is a great option right in the middle of Washington DC.. you get all kinds of pizza plus the garlic breads are soo yummy you can’t stop eating !! It has outdoor seating but lacks parking and it’s a problem all over the Washington DC for parking!! Open till late on the Washington street!! Best for after party food!!

Tommy Byler: This is the best pizza place I’ve ever been to. I can’t recommend enough the Korean Chicken and Buffalo Chicken pizzas. They are pictured below. It’s around 5 bucks a slice, but totally worth it. The chocolate chip cookies are warm and but underbaked, perfect.

Maggie Wei: Really good pizza! I’m not really a pizza person because I’m usually not a huge fan of dough-related products but their pizza is pretty good! I tried the grandma, Margherita and supreme. All are really good. Pizza’s crust is thin and not too dry. I’ll definitely recommend the Margherita, it has a special flavor (I think it’s the mozzarella cheese they use have a really rich flavor). Staff are also all really friendly! I’ll say they’re probably the top 2 pizzas I’ve had in ny life so far (my top one is in NY Hudson valley area) If you’re visiting DC and don’t know what to eat, this pizza place definitely worth a try! Food is good and the price is reasonable.

Katlyn Martin: This place is great! The slices are huge and affordable, and there are so many options to pick from. Highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken and the Supreme… the Mushroom Truffle isn’t bad either. The only recommendations I have are maybe for signage (so people who haven’t been there before know how/where to order) and take away spices (pepper, cheese, garlic) - as it is, you just scoop them out of a community container directly on your pizza which isn’t the most sanitary option.

Anthony: Solid 5/5! I went here on a late Saturday night with a friend after carousing around DC. Hungry as we were, pizza would do the trick. The Food: After browsing all of the different pizza selections they had, I went with the Chicken Paneer and Buffalo Pizza. They were specialty slices so they were $4ish per slice. The flavor of the Buffalo pizza was delicious and the size of the slice was big as well. I'd say, the chicken paneer pizza was the best I had so far, all of the ingredients worked together and was delicious! I almost went back for another slice. The Service: The staff were friendly and got the orders/line moving quickly. My order came out in a timely manner as well. Overall, solid place for a late night pizza spot! I'll be back for sure.

Tim G: Tasty specialty pizzas. Nashville hot chicken and Korean chicken are delicious choices – interesting flavors, balanced with fresh crispy cabbage on top, and a wonderfully thin and crunchy crust.

Vishrut Shelat: In this world it seems like the "Ratings-Rich, get only Richer!" My family and I tried this place for lunch after dropping a friend off at the Union Station. We ordered the Paneer Tikka Pizza, which was absolutely delicious. All pizza slices are 18-inch and a whole pizza order comes with 8 slices. The order took about 20 mins to make, despite the heavy order flow, and the service from the staff was great. The pizza was crisp, full of different toppings, and topped with chutneys and different sauces. I can eat a whole pizza, from chains like Dominos, myself, but after 3 slices of the 18 inch Paneer Tikka Pizza, I was full. The pricing is not cheap here but it is reasonable considering the large 18-inch size of the pizzas, 8 slice quantiity, and the fact it is DC. The only points to consider are that the restaurant doesn't have much indoor seating (3 tables), but there is ample outdoor seating, and that the menu posted on google maps is outdated (ex. there is no Mediterranean Pizza there anymore). Overall after years of dealing with mediocre "NOVA Pizza chains," I am glad I found this spot. This place is my new "go to pizza spot" whenever I visit DC.

Yessenia C: Really good pizza with delicious flavors. Crispy yet chewy crust. Lots of great options to choose from. Open late night. They warm up the pizza to the perfect level.

Matthew Cook: Pizza by the slice. Whole bunch of different pizzas. All of the ones I tried were very tasty. Couple of salad options. Open late. Good price for the size of the slices

Ella's Wood Fired Kitchen: what do users think?

Mischa: This is a nice place overall and I think the pizza was okay, but I also think that the pizza could have been better. To me, the cheese was not very tasteful, and there was not even very much cheese on the pizza. I had the margherita pizza. In my opinion, it was also overpriced. The craft beer selection could have been better. The cappuccino was pretty good. The staff were very friendly, and the decor and atmosphere were very nice. So overall, this was a nice place.

Alisa K.: Six out of five! :) Everything was perfection - fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned appetizer and salmon salad; dessert almond cake was heavenly. This was our first time here and we can't wait to come back!!

Patrick Mason: The food and drinks were great. The service was on top of things. And thankfully it wasn't too crowded. Plus we had a nice view of the gallery building across the street!

Nicole Nelson Coffey: My husband and I dined in while on vacation. The staff was very attentive even though we arrived at an odd hour. I got the spaghetti ragu and my husband got a burger and fries, and all of our food tasted great. The prices were a bit higher than anticipated (and also a few dollars higher than the menu photographs on Google) but I suspect that's the case with most restaurants in DC.

Daniel5679: Ended up walking in on a busy Saturday afternoon without reservation. They somehow managed to still get us a table. The pizza was great and the drinks are to die for. Overall great atmosphere too !

Matías Gagliardone: Good pizza. The quattro formaggi is delicious. It can get really crowded over the weekends. Too bad they don’t have tiramisú.

TheBellehaitian: Great size personal pan pizza place! Good drinks too

Alexander Szul: Our first time at the restaurant and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff and owners were exceedingly professional, the food was undoubtedly fresh, and we highly recommend the pizza. Their over definitely made a difference!

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: Ok, are you ready for a Italian meal that’s aesthetically pleasing, appetizing, scrumptious, with top tier customer service?? Trust me when I say this @ellaspizzawdc has got what you’re ready for, hands down! My absolute favorite meal to cook is eggplant parmigiana (theirs pictured-sliced and fried eggplant topped with mozzarella and parmigiana served with marinara and pesto sauce $12) and I must say that this spot has perfected it!! For this alone I will be returning...but wait a minute...we are not done. Next up is their IL Pepe calzone (pictured-tomato sauce, fontina, mozzarella, roasted red peppers, onions, and mushrooms $18), which was one of the best calzones I’ve ever had. You tasted each ingredient, it was simply wonderfully blended. Their shrimp and asparagus risotto appetizer (pictured-creamy Arborio rice topped with shrimp, artichokes, tomatoes, and lemon zest $13) was ok, we felt it could’ve been seasoned a bit more than it was...nonetheless it was a delectable dish. That Penne pasta (pictured-served with wood fired chicken breast cooked in a pesto cream sauce $16), geesh, that was soooo good and I’m not a pasta guy! Rich, and not overbearing...magnificent!! The pizza 🍕!! They have such a vast selection of pies, you must get one. Ranging from $13-$36 their pizza is worth it...brick oven, and fresh...nuff said!! Our host Chantelle we were thankful for. She exemplified what true customer service is...exuding patience, greeting us, giving us information on what dishes are popular, making sure we were properly waited on...you couldn’t ask for any better service...really! Parking was surprisingly easy being that this establishment is located in downtown Washington D.C. at 610 9th St., N.W. (parking will be metered). Extra special thanks to my sisters @barefootoracle and @tmcleod9 for accompanying me on this adventure...oh the Ameretto Sour (pictured $12) was on point too!! Trust me, you need a nice dinner spot with some great food and ambiance... @ellaspizzawdc is your place!! **This establishment is Covid compliant**

Hilda Kroll: Great location across the street from the Metro and the American Art Museum and Portrait Gallery. My friend and I shared Penn Quarter Chicken and Fried Eggplant sandwiches. The eggplant was okay, but we really liked the chicken sandwich and loved the fries.
