Ted's Bulletin: what do users think?

Arash Tavakoli: I had one of my best dining experiences in this place. The breakfast is easily enough for two people. The staff are super welcoming. Try their tarts and that tastes like heaven. Been very happy with the pancakes and hey they bring you a whole container of coffee. I also really liked that when we ordered one breakfast for two, they put it in two different plates. Thoughtful! So enjoy!

Calvin Thumma: My wife and I went here after a recommendation from a co-worker of mine. The area we are from has a number very good bistro and brunch locations but this meal blew them out of the water. My French toast was by far the best I’ve ever had, the bacon was crisp, potatoes were perfect and the eggs yummy. My wife’s meal was equally delicious, she order eggs, potatoes, toast and sausage. Nicole was our server and made sure every was perfect and never left our drinks get close to empty

Paul LaVigne: Enjoyed the bakery treats we had the other day so much we came back for brunch. Be sure to call ahead for reservations as this is a very busy place with longer wait times. The food was excellent. I do recommend you come and enjoy this place when you’re in town

Angelica Norman-Beltran: Walked past this restaurant on my way home and decided to stop and have dinner. I'm so glad I did. My waitress was very nice and sociable. I ordered their Lavender Mule from the cocktail menu, Loaded Tater tots to start and decided to go with Avocado toast for my dinner, and finished everything off with their seasonal Cherry Blossom Churros. Every thing tasted amazing, I'd caution on using too much of the ranch sauce on the tater tots. It added an extra salt flavor that my mouth didn't like, use it sparingly. The Avocado toast was worth it the price. The poached eggs were made perfectly and there was a lot more avocado than I expected so that was a pleasant surprise. (Note it can be spicy with they peppers they use). All in all I'm happy I found this place while on a walk. I'll need to stop by again and try out a nother dish!

Jessica Zheng: Pretty good brunch location! For drinks, we just got a caramel iced coffee and a vanilla milkshake. Coffee was okay, didn’t really taste the caramel flavor at all. For our meals- I got the Big Mark Breakfast. The sausage was very tasty but the eggs and hash brown were pretty bland, I ended up using dipping them in ketchup. Boyfriend got the salmon toast, that was surprisingly tasty! I was just weirded about eating raw salmon as my first meal of the day but it caught me by surprise!

Tilak Kalaria: Absolutely spectacular dining experience at Tex’s Bulletin for brunch. Service was awesome in this spot with a great ambience and location in DC. The food was excellent too so much to choose from. Their avacado toast has such great attention to detail. The S’mores tart was special! To better enhance our awesome experience someone kind patron paid for my party of 5’s brunch!! Highly recommend Ted’s!!

Amanda Pokrzywa: Friendly service, great atmosphere, insanely delicious food! Highly recommend the BBQ & Bacon Bloody Mary! There's something special about their homemade tarts. The Huevos Rancheros hit all the flavor profiles I was looking for.

Fiorella Hidalgo: Went to get the special cherry blossom dessert during the Cherry Blossom Festival! Smoked Salmon Benedict is one of the best I ever had before! (I like it better than Kramer’s!). It took a while to get seated on a Sunday morning, so try to make a reservation in advance!

Hannah: Okay. I’m excited to review this place as an avid brunch food lover. To begin: we were told that the wait time was 40mjn and given a buzzer. Great. No problem, totally understand. To be fair, we hadn’t made reservations that morning. We wait 50min. They then tell us to wait another 30 minutes. My pregnant and hungry friend got it changed to 20min. Still. Once inside, the vibes were great. Our server was fast and attentive. Huge food portions and cute decor. Definitely not worth the weird waiting times, but will definitely make reservations next time!

Jacob Grice: Breakfast was awesome!!! Staff was super nice, restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was uplifting and calming at the same time. Food was very good and filling , you must try the cheese cake!! Defiantly will be back again!!

Jimmy T's Place: what do users think?

Evelyn Acevedo Ruiz: Jimmy T’s! Let’s say coming here is like going to your great grandmas to have breakfast… it is a family own business, so you will see the mother cooking your breakfast, father at the register and the sons will serve your food. The place is very antique, and I’d say need a bit of maintenance, but if you like trying traditional places, you have to come, waiting for your food is going to be long time, but is worth the wait to have that warm familiar atmosphere.

Aaron Phillips: Solid enough. Not expensive which is nice. Cool spot honestly, it's old and small and tight with a ton of character inside and out. Service is a bit slow and the food is just normal eggs, bacon, etc nothing earth shattering...but reliable.

Alejandro “ZTXH” Zamora Jr.: This little place is a great find. The food is great, has a like home feeling, and feels like a small step into how things were a while back. Friendly service, great tasting food and amazing atmosphere. This is a Cash only establishment

Rachel Cipkins: The food was so good!! Can’t go wrong with a $3 grilled cheese at 7am. Make sure you have cash

Jimmy Thren: My name is also Jimmy T, which is why we went to check it out. After two years of the pandemic, this was the community we’ve been missing so much. Kind, thoughtful and fun staff. I love how sarcastic everyone was with each other. It’s a cozy, fill you up, delicious breakfast stop. If you are a craving a place that makes you feel like your apart of the family, this is it.

Chris S: Incredible greasy spoon diner that is both completely out of place in and perfectly belonging to the neighborhood. Amidst all the money and worldly power of Capitol Hill it's an unpretentious gem that serves good food fast and reminds you that the capital belongs to all of us.

Robert Stankiewicz: Great food, great people, great atmosphere. My new go to breakfast place when I'm in DC!

Mad Mike0082: Absolutely the best breakfast place I’ve found in DC. Super affordable , cash only , food is perfect. Not for the fancy crowd for the real down home folks. Will be back every morning.

Amanda Pedraza: Best diner experience I’ve ever had. Food was amazing service was even better ! 10/10 would recommend! The woman behind the counter is god sent !

Lucien Anderson: Listen, Googlers. I know occasionally the "waiters" can be sassy, or that the waffles may not remind you of the Belgiàn Wafflé you paid 30$ for in Georgetown. It's true- but nobody's perfect!! If you are having a bad day, a trip to Jimmy T's is like a warm hug from the one you miss the most. Heart-warming coffee, crispy bacon, perfect eggs, BOMB WAFFLES, and the queen of them all, the one they call the MATERNITY. I also recommend the cheeseburger special, but only if you're really trynna ball out. I promise you will not be disappointed

Lincoln's Waffle Shop: what do users think?

Chelli Smith: Chicken wings were seasoned just right with an amazing crunch. The waffles were soft without being soggy and they were so good. By the time I looked up my teen had inhaled her French toast so I didn’t get to taste those, but when I asked her rating scale of 1-5 I could barely get the words out before she said 5. This place is the perfect hole in the wall/mom-n-pop type spot that lets you know the food will be good. We will be back!

Claire Mizutani: Stopped by for breakfast with my brother. We were seated at the counter and served pretty quickly. The chicken wings were very crispy and the grits had a wonderful consistency. My brother said the eggs were cooked exactly as he asked and was happy the waffle wasn’t too sweet.

Italia Capone: Small little spot directly across the street from Ford's Theater. Busy Sunday morning and the place was packed with tourist and locals. Unfortunately, they didn't have enough help to bus tables, seat people and take orders. There seemed to be some dissension in the ranks as two of the employees seemed to be arguing this fact (in a language I didn't recognize) while we were waiting to be seated. Food was good and was cooked exactly as we had ordered it. I had to keep asking for refills of coffee and we had to wait quite a while for our order to arrive. Next time I'm in DC, I may stop in during the week. Hopefully, it won't be as chaotic.

* dnainsb: This is a small old time diner type of restaurant. It serves mainly breakfast and has a lot of variety. The price point on the food is good. Be careful if you go and try and find the bathroom you must go down some rickety steps to the basement where there's an old bar that's unused very fascinating. It's located across the street from the Ford theater and down the street from the house where Lincoln died.

la Au: Some of the best breakfast food i have tasted. Service is good and the food qaulity is great. Staff is upbeat and friendly. I had the blueberry pancakes with grits eggs and corn beef hash. The blueberries were so fresh and the egas were so pight and fluffy. The food is delicious. Im writing this review while im sitting here eating. Had too.. it's just that good

Elizabeth Wong: I will always love this place. It brings back childhood memories of my grandpa's restaurant. The old man who runs this place is grumpy but well meaning. People who get upset because you can't read a sign and wait patiently, be prepared you will be told to close the door! The food is unpretentious, delicious and simple. There isn't any other place that you can get food like this in a mile radius. History is this place and the food is timeless.

Rob Riggs: Let's call it what it is, a novelty diner due to the name. The service is super friendly, We ate at the bar and they were always checking on us. The food came out fast also. Everything was cooked as we requested, it was just extremely bland. Even the chicken wings, no real flavor to them. The best thing we tried was the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. It's fun, cause it's got Lincoln's name in it, but there's way too many breakfast options for us to return unfortunately.

Michael Rusk: What a great find in downtown DC. The wait was about 15 minutes but well worth it. The host was such a character and kept us entertained. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. I had a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on a bagel. My wife had a waffle and sausage side. Coffee was brewed fresh. Warning — on the day we were there, 3/26/22, their credit card machine was out of order and they were only accepting cash. The ATM around the corner was broken also! Plan on $15 per person unless you’re really hungry.

Anne Gotimer: Easy to go option. Visited around 6:45am on a Saturday. No line, quick friendly service, and hit the spot. Eggs in my sandwich were still a little runny which was perfect with the toast of the bread. I know some people mentioned that it's a little expensive for the quantity but let's be real, everything will be more expensive in DC. This spot has heart and good food. I will definitely come back.

Travielle Keith: I can't believe this place has 4.3 star, I guess it's because of their efficiency that's the only thing admirable about this place. I got a waffle two scrambled eggs and turkey. There was corn beef hash in my eggs eww. The waffle was okay. Turkey bacon wasn't edible. I guess this is a tourist attraction this was my first and last time eating here. Not worth the wait or poor dining experience.

the DINER: what do users think?

Catherine Ekman: French toast has chicken served right on top Of it. Mushy and lack of flavor in French toast. Chicken is tender but also flat flavor. Onion rings are burnt and lack flavor. Looks like the kind you buy frozen and fry. Soda machine broken. Milkshake was delightful, sweet and creamy! All of the tables are peeling finish on wood tops. The bench seat upholstery is cracked and peeling. All the vents in the top of the dining room are fuzzy with dusty ick. The waitress and host are very nice. Too bad the food isn’t as stellar as it could be, such a good trendy location and updated historic location.
Response: Hi Cathrine! I'm sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with your meal. We are always working to improve our menus, and new items are added regularly. I hope you'll give us another try in the future!

Regina Hogan: Willy at The Diner was so awesome! Excellent customer service. The fish tacos and cherry blossom shake were amazing! Got a table outside in the shade. Very satisfied, will definitely be back!
Response: Thank you so much, Regina :-). Glad to hear you enjoyed everything!

Greg Page: I'm a professional hitman and a hearty, nutritious meal is an important part of my regimen. Right up there with cleaning my gun. Anyway, I always stop by The Diner for some good eats and some friendly banter with my fellow hitmen colleagues. Great crowd; nobody likes hanging around with a bunch of stiffs. I always order the Monte Cristo, because who doesn't love a ham and cheese sandwich on French Toast? Yum. Anyway, the waitstaff is great and I love the old style booths. Lots of privacy, which is important in my line of work. 👍

Megan Bennett: Went to this place while visiting DC with my boyfriend. The food was amazing and the service was even better! Our waitress (wish I could remember her name) was awesome and very accommodating. Will definitely visit again when I’m in DC!

Pandora White: It was amazing. I went at a crowded time on a Saturday. I managed to snag a seat at the bar. The portions are nice. The price is amazing. The service fast. I recommend this.

Fernando Martinez: One of my go to spots when I'm hungry. It's smack dab in the middle of #AdamsMorgan which is a area in Washington DC where you can find all types of great food. This area is known for its international mixture which is awesome in so many ways.
Response: Thanks, Fernando!

Des KF: On the way into DC my boyfriend and I wanted to stop at this spot for lunch. When we arrived it took a little time to find parking. When we walked in they told us we can sit anywhere. Emmanuel was our server and he was good. We started with cocktails and I got the Bonecrusher and it was tasty. For my meal I got the chicken sandwich and it was so good! The aoli was very tasty that they added. My boyfriend got the Diner Royale and he enjoyed his meal. The bill came to about $52. We enjoyed and would return.
Response: Thanks, Des!

Levnon: Not a bad place to grab a bite. They got a good selection for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Quality is good, and so is the service.
Response: Thanks, Levnon!

Paula Ramirez: This place never disappoints me! The food is so delicious! I ordered the Ponderosa omelette and it was just perfect! We ordered the migas and wow so delicious! We also ordered a burger and it was cooked to perfection! If you want to enjoy great food at a reasonable price here in DC you def need to stop by the Diner!
Response: Thanks, Paula!

Barb O: Just terrific! Exactly what you look for in a diner… quick service, (thank you Tamika!) delicious and plentiful food at a good price, friendly staff.
Response: Thanks for your support, Barb!

Pete's Diner: what do users think?

Wayne Meacham: Stopped n at Pete's Diner for a power breakfast before hitting the mall. The food was tasty and the prices reasonable. Service was very fast and friendly. This will be my goto breakfast spot when I return.

Demetria Andrews: Loved this family owned and run restaurant. There were clearly regular customers. We were treated well and the food was quick and delicious. I highly recommend Pete’s.

Dirk Jonker: Busy place when I arrived. I was seated promptly by the nice staff. I had the typical breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon & hash browns. I found the bacon was a little over cooked but the meal was satisfying overall. A nice location with a outdoor patio. I recommend. 👍

Patrick O'Neill: Pete's is a wonderful place to have a good diner breakfast, and great lunch sandwiches! Gum, Ghan, Carlos and the other staff are fast, very personable, and friendly friendly friendly!!! If you only have time for one place to visit in DC for morning and noon food, come here!!!

George Owino: Food was okay, not great and not terrible. Friendly staff. Kind of pricey for the quality of food. I ordered a western omelet

Yuliia Voinova: Omg!!! Awful food , service is surprisingly bad! I have never visited place like that. That bad..

G E: Relatively unknown little diner a block behind the US Capital. It’s called Pete’s but it’s actually run by a Korean family and has a bit of an Asian slant. They are friendly and provide great service. Anyway, it’s good for a basic breakfast before you head out to explore the monuments and museums or a break for lunch in between things. See our overall YouTube review of how to tour the DC Mall sights - just search Travel Chick DC Mall Guide

Clint Watwood: Cozy breakfast spot. We had the steak and cheese sandwich and the Egg Salad sandwich which was made fresh on the spot. Friendly staff with a smile.

Jeremy Andra: Ordered the steak and eggs and the steak was about as thick as lunch meat. A cat took a leak inside the restaurant which was really weird. But the staff was extremely kind and went out of their way.

Cameron Campbell: A classic diner without any charm. Service was good, food was better than average. Club sandwhich, 2 drinks around 18 bucks. Near the Capitol area.

Corner Bakery: what do users think?

Swastika Nohara: Nice Cafe with good selection of pastries and egg for breakfast and lunch. We had ham sandwiches and omellette that comes with bread and a cup of fresh fruit. Loved it! Cinnamon roll is also good. The Coffee is just average. But for warm breakfast we are happy!

Sahar Bayounis: I ordered the half chicken sandwich with a side of tomato soup. It was so good! I also recommend the sweet crisps. They’re really addictive. I just didn’t like the attitude of the cashier lady, she was rude and unwelcoming unfortunately.

Marcy: Pricy. But the food is good. I got a full sandwich with a cup of soup as a $2.99 add on with a small coffee and everything cost $17.68. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is right next to marshals where we bought a charger. There are a few seats next to wall outlets to recharge. Perfect place to eat and charge your phone.

Heather Wing: Staff shortages and limited menu as of April 2022. Food was decent, but when we visited (Saturday noon), half the fountain drinks were out, no coffee beverages were available. Ordered 2 salads and one was great (see pic), another (Caesar) was pretty bad. Brownie was a frozen brick, and half the dining area was closed. Both trash cans overflowing. My kids liked their food, my meal was good, but I would not return anytime soon.

Mandi Mouser: Great place to eat while trying to warm up!! Sandwiches, soups, salads, and delicious bake goods. Every staff member that we encountered was 10/10! The cashier lady was very warming to my son who is shy and indecisive. She helped us figure out what was the best choice. The food was amazing!!!!!!!!! Would definitely eat here again. ***Plus side…very very close to the White House***

Lezlea Loves Real Estate: While staying at the Willard, we stopped by for a quick breakfast a couple of times. It was "good enough" and didn't cost $20 each. I liked it more than my husband did. The fruit and bagels were fresh. The staff was friendly and it is a very popular place at certain times of day.

Michelle Dombrowski: I wanted to express my gratitude & appreciation for an employee at this Corner Bakery location. The employee is Melinda T. As my family & I visited DC for 7 days for a family vacation, we stayed at the Willard Hotel (which is across the street from Corner Bakery). We frequented this Corner Bakery for breakfast and met Melinda among our travels. It was Melinda’s charming personality that kept us wanting to come back to dine in. Not only is she so sweet & friendly, Melinda is also so damn hilarious. We couldn’t get enough of her humor. Corner Bakery is lucky to have an employee like Melinda because she makes customers feel so welcome, like we were eating at home. Thank you so much, Melinda, for your welcoming hospitality. You are the best & we hope to see you the next time we visit DC. Your friends from Michigan, the Dombrowski family 😉

Drewe Zanki: Good sandwich. Great coffee. Super nice staff.

Karen Zachary: The staff literally yelled at one another. One cashier had her kid there. It’s completely unclear where to go for espresso drinks. You can’t read the menu until you’ve walked in a line line and are standing at the cashiers.

Sam Bonson: Ordering through this bakery was my worst experience when visiting this city. I asked the cashier lady to help me out with my order as it was my first time in this bakery. And I only got the same answer multiple times: if you’re not ready to order then leave the line. I didn’t know that you cannot get the menu nor ask for it or ask for what is available. The menu was on the wall but too far for me to read. I guess it was a very bad day for that lady. Nonetheless I would not advise any tourist to go there. There are many other options around.

Founding Farmers DC: what do users think?

Erica Anstey: We had a fabulous experience here. It's a very fun atmosphere and the food was delicious. I had the crazy corn chicken salad and it might be my most favorite salad ever. My husband had the southwest chicken salad and my daughter had the chicken and waffles. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Our waitress, Camilla, was fantastic and has a great personality. Everyone working there seemed like they were having a good time.
Response: Thank you so much for your review, Erica! I am glad that you and your family enjoyed their dining experience. Please dine with us again! -Xenia

Tyler Davis: Quality food and drinks! Stopped by while out and about visiting DC with the family. Short walk from several metro stations. Reserved a table during lunchtime the morning we went and was seated minutes after we showed up. Staff was attentive and my drink was never empty. Reasonable prices for the quality food you get considering the location and love the bar menu. Was recommended this place by several people and it was quickly apparent why. Will definitely visit again next time we are in DC!
Response: Awesome! Thank you so much! -Jessica

Konstantinos Rizakos: We were seated promptly at our reservation time. The hosts and servers were polite and effective, albeit the food and drinks took a while to come out. Everything was very very tasty. The meat in particular. Try the prime rib, and the pork chops - but you may want to ask that they cook less than you usually like because ours were slightly over cooked.
Response: Thank you so much for the glowing review! Please come back soon! -Jessica

Kimberly Giang: Omg so yummy. Visited DC for the first time and found this restaurant for breakfast. It definitely did not disappoint! It was so yummy we came back the next morning. We reserved a table online and good thing we did because it gets crowded fast. Our table was ready when we arrived and all of the staff was very friendly. Food came out fast. The French toast was so unique and tasted amazing. I loved the Eggs Benedict and how crispy the hash browns were! Definitely would come back!
Response: Thank you so much for the glowing review!! So glad you enjoyed your first dining experience with us! We look forward to seeing you again soon! -Jessica

Francess Kargbo: I've gone to Founding Farmers for brunch previously, but I'm glad to say I prefer their supper menu. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy. The green beans were fresh, and I substituted mashed potatoes for the honey scotch carrots as the side. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I definitely suggest this restaurant as a dinner option; you will like it.

WooDo Jedi: Good service! Our server was outstanding. (Front hostess and host didn’t make us feel welcome though - we felt like cattle coming through the door). Our orders came our timely and had that flavor profile that spoke of home. We would definitely return here!
Response: Though the welcome was not warm, we are thrilled you enjoyed the meal and service! We look forward to your next visit and giving you a great experience from start to finish! -Tiffany

Peter Shaw: Great food and coffee, albeit slightly over priced. The beignets were very very good. Personally don't think the egg scramble was worth ordering. Service was good but the food came out rather slowly. Waited a good 45 min for food to come out.
Response: Hi, Peter. I am very sorry you waited so long for your breakfast order. We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you again! :) -Kerry

Frankie Painter: This is our 3rd time here and WOW, everything we’ve ever ordered has been amazing! We always start with the honey cornbread and this time I got Scallops Meunière with butternut squash risotto and my husband got catfish with grits and green beans. My scallops were cooked to perfection - they cut like butter. The atmosphere here is warm and cozy but lively, although there were way less people this time because of social distancing restrictions. Our waiter was super! We had to show an ID and proof of vaccination. Highly, highly recommend!!
Response: Thank you so much for the amazing review, Frankie! We are so thrilled to read that you and your husband enjoyed your visit with us! We aim to give you a great experience on your 4th visit also! Thank you so much for dining with us! -Najjah :)

Ying Liang: Friend took me here for dinner when I visited DC. We went on a late weekday evening. Definitely call for reservations ahead of time because it was incredibly crowded. I’m not sure how long we would’ve had to wait if we didn’t plan for that. Our waitress was very nice, food took a while, probably because it was so busy! So plan some time to catch up and relax. It was sort of dark and loud but the restaurant still had nice ambiance. I got the chicken and waffles… and oh my goodness, it was the best fried chicken and the best waffles I’ve ever had. So freaking good. The green beans were crunchy/fresh and the mac and cheese was decent. Not sure what sauce it came with but I was enjoying it! I would probably try to get here for early brunch next time instead. Definitely recommend you stop by if you get the chance.
Response: Thank you so much for the glowing review. Please come back soon! -Jessica

Goose Prevot: Stumbled upon this restaurant while walking over towards the Lincoln Memorial. The atmosphere was awesome. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I liked that the craft cocktail spirits were distilled by the restaurant. We were able to purchase a bottle to take home as well. The food was very tasty. It is a definite try if you are around the area.
Response: Awesome! I'm so glad you enjoyed everything. Please come back soon!- Amber

A Baked Joint: what do users think?

pelumi olaleye: First time visiting. Went around 9am on a Saturday morning. I’m a French toast enthusiast & I couldn’t wait to try their theirs. It’s the best French toast I’ve tried out of all the ones I’ve tried. Their velvet cake is delicious. The cafe is cozy with vibrant music. Great for kids as well. I will return.

Sahar Bayounis: This is a nice breakfast place. I really loved the vibe and design of the restaurant. And I liked how I could study there because the atmosphere was so chill. I just didn’t get why it was so expensive because I had an egg sandwich with cheese for $9 (no coffee or drink). I wanted to try the famous biscuits but they were baked with bacon and I couldn’t find a vegan option.

Fernanda Lanzagorta: Delicious made from scratch biscuit breakfast sandwich. Their creations are original and tasty. The coffee is also good as well as the pastries. Order in advance or be patient to wait in line specially during the weekends. Plenty of seating options inside and outside.

Elias Chelala: The smoked salmon sandwich was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and the venue had a good vibe. It cost around $12 and took about 15 minutes to prepare the order. The inside has lots of cozy seating and the patrons seemed friendly. This place is conveniently located near where I work and live and I will definitely be visiting again.

sierra hall: First of all, whenever me and my boyfriend visit DC. This is one for favorite places to grab a quick bite to eat. Every time we come here we get a bunch of food because we want to try everything! We are never ever disappointed. They always serve amazing food with delicious options. I will say this place is always super busy and seating is kind of hard to find but eventually while waiting for your food you'll find seat. Everything from the bakery is amazing. The breakfast sandwiches 10/10 and drinks 10/10. Can't wait to come back again to see what's new on the menu

Greg Young: It came highly recommended and we definitely enjoyed it (though a couple of menu items—the quiche and French Toast—were not available). We went fully savory, though the sweet options were plentiful and looked delicious too.

Marina Figueroa: Adorable coffee shop!!! Very hip, loved the decor and plants around the store. A bit expensive; I think it could go with a side for the price, but delicious nonetheless. Be ready to show proof of vaccination :)

Philip R.: Had a nice meal here after an event at the convention center. Lots of seating for dining indoors. Photos show the ham and gruyere quiche with salad and the chicken and rice soup. The soup was hearty and flavorful!

Annie: Great spot! Atmosphere is perfect for lounging with friends before a night out. Cocktails aren't advertised but they're cheap and delicious. Pastries were tasty and fried green tomato sandwich is the best around.

Erika: This place is spectacular! Amazing food, super fresh and came out quickly. We had the creme brulee french toast, a massive croissant and a HUGE cinnamon raisin roll. 10/10 would absolutely recommend!! We will definitely be back!!!

Unconventional Diner: what do users think?

Zeyu Hu: Went to Unconventional Diner for both brunch and dinner and let me tell you they didn’t disappoint at all. Brunch: Got three different items to share for brunch, and each was unique in its own way but complimented each other so well. The shrimp and grits were perfect. The BBQ shrimp had an amazing smokey smell which really made it stand out. The biscuits were also amazing, nice and crispy and the house made sausage was great. The blueberry pancakes were the fluffiest I’ve ever had, a great sweet treat to end the meal. Dinner: Came back for dinner a week later and it blew me out of the water again. As the name suggests, the menu has a large variety and when the waiter tells you you can’t go wrong with anything, they ain’t lying. We got such a variety of food - from French to southern, Chinese stir fry to Cuban. It just all works so well. Bottom line: A must visit if you are in DC. The best wait staff and service. But remember to book ahead!

Claire Mizutani: Went out to dinner with my family and a friend from school. Great food! I really enjoyed the mezze and the Mac n cheese. Speedy service and great labeling on the menu for those with dietary restrictions. I wish that the outdoor seating area had heaters but now that the weather is getting warmer that may be less of an issue

Christopher Guarin: Was in town to check out the Cherry Blossom Festival. We made a point to stop in for some brunch before walking all over town. We were definitely not disappointed. Everything we tried was delicious! From the drinks, to the Everything Lox, and Chicken and Waffles....every bite was amazing. We will be back for more on our next trip!

Eric Lee: Got the cheeseburger and fried chicken. Both were phenomenal. Simple dishes but everything was cooked and seasoned so well. Price for these dishes were affordable. Great vibe as well, pretty large space. Will be back to try more!

Queen Melissa: Wonderful for family outing , a date and friends brunch. Everything was outstanding. The cleanliness was good. The customer service and server was really nice. My kids loved everything and they are usually picky eaters. This was my first time eating shrimps and grits all I can say it was amazing. Overall,we were a satisfied family and will be back again.

Ben Multak: Unconventional diner dishes but delicious flavors. Everything I’ve tried here has hit and the restaurant itself is a well oiled machine. Highly recommend if you find yourself in the area. Really enjoyed the Crab Fritters and Fried Chicken

Sirius Fidelity: This was one of my favorite food places on my trip. The place was a pretty good size, clean, and bright. There also appeared to be outside dining as well. I ordered the kid size portion of the Blueberry Lavender Pancakes as pictured, and the Shrimp and Grits. Nothing short of amazing. Prices were reasonable and the portion sizes good. I highly recommend this place.

Christal Young: I love a place that has vegan as well as non-vegan options. This place was so good, I came back two days in a row. Their kale nachos were just superb and their cauliflower salad with falafel was also delicious and filling. The colors and ambiance are also nicely done. There are several dining spaces, including indoor and outside seating, each with its own vibe.

ReCreate Artworks: I found this gem about a 20 minute walk north of the mall. I cannot recommend it enough. There was plenty of seats, the staff was quick and efficient, and the restaurant itself was stunning. It makes you feel luxurious without having the price tag that usually comes with it. It’s very affordable but the quality of food is beyond the price. I got a double shot of espresso and the Brussel Sprouts with Fried Egg. 10/10.

Chunhee Hong: We had buttermilk pancake, corned beef hash, cappuccino and rise & shine. All delicious! The customer service and server were really nice. Overall,we were satisfied and will be back again to try other menu!

Ted's Bulletin: what do users think?

Michelle Wiciak: The food was excellent, although the corned beef hash was extremely salty. I loved the smoked salmon rangoons, and thought it was the highlight of the meal. The biscuits and gravy were also stellar too, and that dish was HUGE. I enjoyed the banana cream pie, but thought the crust was too thick. The only downside was that the place was a bit too loud music-wise and our server seemed disinterested in serving us

Alex teufel: This was the most pleasant restaurant experience I’ve ever had. I am from out of town.First off, they asked if there was any food allergies before taking orders and bringing food, and as a person with a food allergy this was super cool, and something more restaurants should do! Tiffany was a phenomenal waitress, best server I’ve ever had. Polite, and thoughtful staff, short wait, GREAT food. 10/10 recommend!!

Deana Bushell: The Strawberry lemonade was delish...the fried pickles were the perfect starter for our meal. Also had the Chicken Parmesan with a side of Brussel Sprouts with blue cheese and bacon. More than I could eat and very tasty. Great local place with a wonderful atmosphere.

Noah Vaughan: Great place. I've gone by a few times but the wait was always too long (reservations highly encouraged!) so was excited to get in there today. Had the tamarind coated wings to start and they were amazing. Lunch was steak and a Cesar salad, both really good. My only complaint is that I was only a bite or two into my appetizer when my meal and salad arrived. I finished my wings, are my salad, and the steak and fries were cold by the time I got to them. Still good, but would have been even better warm.

Sarah: Delicious entree meals and really the main sell. 5 star for food, 3 star waitress. Will definitely be back for the entree meals because the cooks know what they are doing! I was very excited for the pop tarts but filling is only within the very center of them and it would have been ten times better taste-wise if it was served warm. Service was extremely slow and our waitress did not refill our water glasses and we had to wait an extremely long time to get our bill to leave. Food (excluding dessert) and environment great, but service may need some improvement especially since it was not very busy and we still waited a long time for waitress to come back to the table to ask about dessert and then again to get the bill (1.5 hours for two people to eat).

Charlotte Meindersma (Charlotte's Law): We had a Ted’s tart, which was really good. The dough is soft shortbread cookie like. Fresh iced tea was good. And we tried the loaded tots. Outside seating is really nice. Not all servers are as friendly as we’d hoped for, the girl who helped us most was very helpful and friendly.

Michelle Owen: Fabulous eatery situated in East Market Washington DC...fabulous interior featuring art deco decor. At the back dining g area are many booths, you can even watch old movies from an old projector. The service was terrific, the food excellent and the vibe friendly and happy. The menu was great, not too big, not too small. The coffee was excellent as was my Peach Bellini. It's true...the cinnamon rolls are "as big as ya head".

Amreen Shafiuddin: seemed like a small cafe from outside but they have a indoor seating place for brunch !!! looked like a upscale place.. people were posh there !!! the room had ample sunlight and it was all lit.. the tables were big enough for 6 people to sit comfortably. Our server was sweet and friendly.. people even clicked our photos without us asking for help !!! the food was amazing.. i would give it 15/10… we ordered 5 different dishes.. none disappointed… The big mark breakfast was super filling.. avocado toast was presented well and quite filling as to was on the lighter fair.. the stand out dishes were the Country fried chicken and Grilled salmon !!! omg amazing flavours !!! soooo yummm !! definitely coming back here for eating this again !!!

Cory Schwab: Delicious breakfast! And the homemade pop tart was a nice surprise. Coffee could have been a little stronger but still tasted good!

Scott T: Great general breakfast fare. I had eggs, bacon, gluten free toast, and hash browns. She had avocado toast. Both were excellent, but that's not why you are reading this review. We came here for the homemade pop tarts and they were excellent. They would have been better warm, but because of a lawsuit, that is no longer allowed. The table next to us got the massive cinnamon roll and we decided to get one as well. (Back story, I have a mild wheat allergy which often makes my stomach hurt when I eat wheat. I didn't learn of this until 2021 and had eaten wheat all my life and thought the pain was normal. So I generally avoid wheat, but on certain occasions, will eat it and deal.) The cinnamon roll was the star of the show. It was huge, 4 adults could easily share this. From the photo, you can see my plan... work to the middle. They serve the roll without the icing/sauce and pour it on at the table. Every bite was fabulous, but the middle, oh my the middle, was insanely good. It was so warm and soft, covered in tasty goodness, by far the best roll I've ever eaten. When in DC, take a detour to one of these restaurants locations and grab a pop tart and a cinnamon roll, you won't be disappointed.

The Greenhouse: what do users think?

Melissa Luke: The food is great, but the experience is what wow’d me the most! Wonderful ambiance, very cozy and not pretentious, and they give you a tiny upholstered foot stool for your purse!! We had tons of fun.

Miguel Curiel: Elegant experience, tasty food. Went in for brunch and place is 1) more beautiful than expected and 2) cheaper than expected. Great pick if you want to go have a nice talk + meal in somewhere iconic, fancy and affordable. Highly recommended that you reserve beforehand.
Response: We're glad you enjoyed your visit to The Greenhouse!

Athena Press: The Green House at the Jeffersom Hotel. OMG. if.you'd like the feeling of being catered to as the upper crust was in the late 1800's and early 1900's, this is DA PLACE, in Washington DC. My cumpliments to the Chef, in making an extraordinary experience out of a simple burger including fresh, juicy, quality sirloin cooked to.perfection. Mimosas, strong freshly brewed coffee, impeccable and warm service, and exquisitely manicured ambiance made the cut for my "11, Above the Mondane" review. My numbers (10 is top) Reception: 11. (got.the coat, led us to the table, made two tourists feel at home and special) Servers and buzz boy; 11 Food quality: 11 Food quantity: just right. 10 Decor and ambiance: 11 (inspiring1800's decadence) Cleanness 11 Bathrooms:11 (Omg!!!!) Location; 11 (Nearby National Geographic museum, at The Jefferson Hotel) Parking: in DC?? Why, when there is that subway. DO NOT miss this place if you are in the area.

jay english: I've been searching for a good Chicken & Waffles joint & was surprised to find it at this restaurant. Chicken was seasoned very well and has an awesome crisp, satisfies the sweet/savory craving with a nice crunch.
Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your visit to The Greenhouse!

Kiana Yeganeh: The Greenhouse is a beautiful restaurant located in an even more beautiful hotel. The service, however, is mediocre. My boyfriend and I checked in for our brunch reservation 10 minutes early and we were told to have a seat in the lobby until our name was called. 20 minutes later, we still had not been called, so I walked up to the host's desk and reminded them of our now-past reservation. We were seated immediately, without an apology for the delay. It is likely the host forgot about our reservation, and that happens, but waiting service inside the restaurant was also bad. Our waiter barely spoke to us the whole time we were there, and we did not feel welcome at all. The food was average; the plating was disappointing. For a restaurant that looks this good on the outside, the quality of food and service was definitely a letdown. I hope other patrons have a better dining experience at The Greenhouse.

Mark Blanchard: Delicious brunch and beautiful restaurant. Classy high end touches all around.
Response: Thank you!

Caitlyn George: Extremely accommodating. We walked here with the kids from our hotel excited to try a new restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised with how kind the staff were to squeeze us in. We will absolutely be sure to make reservations next time now that we know. The staff were friendly and offered special surprises for the kids upon sitting. Made them feel so special. This is a brunch that makes you feel upscale and special. The beakfast foods and drinks are highest quality, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We enjoyed every moment and will absolutely return! The kids loved it and enjoyed feeling fancy for the morning and insist that we go back.
Response: Thank you for your kind words! We're so glad you enjoyed your dining experience at The Greenhouse and hope we can welcome you back again in the future!

G Dalmeida: A return to quiet elegance... The Greenhouse is fine dining for Brunch or Lunch. It felt so nice to enjoy a brunch that wasn’t rushed, or had me waiting 45+minutes to be seated. From the fine China to the very attentive staff and quiet ambiance The Greenhouse at the Jefferson Hotel will briefly make you feel as though you aren’t in Washington, DC but maybe a lovely summer home of a friend overlooking the river. The meal I selected was rather simple and traditional waffles with fresh fruit. They were prepared well not too crunch and definitely not to soft. Too much cream butter and a glaze over the strawberries were the only things I found lacking. But everything else was just perfect . Plenty of hot coffee served in slightly larger cups and a beautiful table sitting. I would recommend The Greenhouse to anyone who appreciates a slightly old school style dining experience. It made me glad I was up on all things Emily Post. (aka dining etiquette).
Response: Thank you for the kind words. We’re glad you enjoyed brunch with us!

Aditya Parikh: Lunch… Food: ***, Service: ****, Ambiance: *****, Value: **. Nice environment, but I won’t be back for lunch. It just isn’t good enough to justify the price when there are better establishments in DC. Might try dinner or breakfast sometime to give them a fair shot.

Sheneze Jones: Good food and great service!

Busboys and Poets: what do users think?

Sonya Williams (Wildflowers and Hooyahs): Made a thirty min trip to try this location and it was def worth it. The waitress, Phoenix, was phenomenal! We also loved all of our food. The Mediterranean burger with lamb was such great combination of flavors. We shared the pancakes and French toast because our six year old couldn’t finish it. We had plenty of leftovers. My husband ordered the egg and cheddar burger and said it was pretty good. I loved the art and the vibe of the place. We arrived around 1030 and there was barely anyone there on Sunday. But literally when we left at 1120, the entire building seemed packed to capacity. Glad we came early for brunch! Well, three locations down and plenty more to try. This chain has a reputation of having great quality food, drinks, art, books and id family friendly. But could be great for a group of friends or lover.

Yvonne Marbury: I loved the food here so much, I came back the next day at a different location. They didn't disappoint, but I wasn't able to get the vegan lovers pasta that made me want to come back just because it's only available after 3pm I ended up getting a black bean burger, and another pomegranate lemonade with fries. This was good too but that pasta will be what brings me back a third time for sure. My daughter felt the same way about the vegan cheesecake. She bought one to go just because it was so delicious. I definitely recommend all vegans and non-vegans eat here. They really had something for everyone.

Fahad Aqeel: I really enjoyed my meal here. The service was great and the place had nice vibes. Wish they could have bottomless coffee for breakfast though, and not keep paying $4 for a fresh cup.

Lee Anne Janney: I'm disappointed! The food was pretty good. The setting is unique and inviting. I love the theme I had shrimp and grits and it was some of the best I have had but the service is abysmal! We only got waters because the waitress never took drink orders and never checked on us so we never got a refill on our waters and when we had obviously finished our food it took forever for our waitress to notice us. They really are a let down on service. A shame.

A S: Wow! Such fantastic service and delicious food! I'd wanted to come here for years, but for whatever reason hadn't made it up this way. I wish I would have come sooner! Our waiter gave us exceptional service and the food was exactly what I hoped for and more.

Jeremy Smith: Had to mask up and show our vax cards. Whatever I was hungry. The person who seated us was super nice and awesome. Our waitress forgot her name at first was cool but that changed quickly. Brought us our water and didn’t ask if we wanted something else to drink. Took our order: Vegan BBQ ‘chicken’ bites. (I was curious) I’m not vegan but they were freaking delicious. Wanted more water because sauce on the bites was kinda spicy. Food came out and we asked that person for more water and they said sure be right back. They NEVER came back. The waitress that took our order walked around dining room and asked other guest how their meal was NEVER came back to us until we finished. The burger I got was delicious and on point, one of the best I’ve ever had. The service sucked. At first I thought it was race then I realized I’m wearing a hoodie with American flag patches on both sleeves I earned doing GORUCK events. I believe that was the cause of the poor service we received. Willing to go back and give them a second try however I’m not going out of my way to get back there.

Ebone Cruz (The Entrepreneur Plug): Great food and a book store all in one! I was in heaven! Our server was DaJane first of all I must brag on her because she was the best. Friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, timely; I mean literally checked on our table consistently. Plus held our entire party in great conversation. Second, those greens omg! I thought my momma was in the kitchen. Fried chicken cooked to perfection and mash potatoes so good they'll have you begging for more once you wake up from a comatose nap...lol There are also vegetarian options which was great as we had someone in our party that was still able to pick from quite a few options. If you're traveling to DC stop by, it's a great atmosphere and good place to find a book too!

Nadja E. Solis: Love the vibe, and friendly staff. Very cool place. I didn’t like anything I ordered but it seems to be an isolated incident. I ordered a spicy latte which was supposed to include caramel yet it didn’t tasted sweet at all. I also ordered eggs Benedict with hard boiled eggs but had to return it because egg were runny, waited over 20 minutes (all my friends had finished eating and the table were cleaned by servers) when my food re-arrived only to have the eggs even more runny than the first time and the potatoes cold. Not my day I guess.

Jmp 123: First time here while visiting. My vegetable quinoa bowl (pictured) with added shrimp was delicious. My companion enjoyed their Cobb salad as well. Great atmosphere. Service sort of disappeared after our meals were delivered. We sat talking for a long time with empty plates and glasses in front of us (no water refills or anything), and my friend never got their coffee, so we had to ask that it be removed from the check when they were going to charge us for it. They weren't super busy so I imagine they may be understaffed due to the pandemic. Not a big deal, but noticeable enough to drop a star.

Sahar Bayounis: This was without a doubt THE best chicken panini I ever tried. Hands down. It was so juicy and tender, unlike other panini sandwiches where the bread is so tough and dry. The chicken is mixed with chipotle sauce that’s just heavenly. 🤤 I highly highly recommend trying it whenever you visit Busboy and Poets. Also, get some sweet potato fries on the side instead of regular French fries. It’s very difficult to cook the perfect sweet potato fries and get them so crispy. This place knew how to cook them!!! Unfortunately there was no poetry when I came this Friday, but I’m definitely giving it another try in the future. ♥️

The Market Lunch: what do users think?

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: Now I may be a tad bit bias when it comes down to breakfast at this spot. My tastebuds are partial to this place because as a youth, my hip, debonair, bachelor father wasn’t cooking breakfast for me often, and would bring me to @marketlunch occasionally. This is where I forked through their thick cut, French bread, French toast (pictured with sweet butter, and maple syrup $7.50) for the first time, and became infatuated!! So for breakfast (Tues-Thurs 8 a.m.-11 a.m., Fri-Sat 8: a.m.-1 p.m., Sun-9 a.m.-1 p.m.) you can get a stack of pancakes, egg or crab cake Benedict’s (weekends only), Bacon, Turkey bacon, ham, scrapple (pictured-$3.25), or pork sausages as a side or in a sandwich with eggs. They have omelets that come with spinach and cheese, or platters like their crab cake platter (served with 2 eggs, grits or potatoes and toast). After all these years it dawned on me as I’m writing this…that I’ve NEVER had the LUNCH at Market Lunch!! For lunch they have crab cake, Rockfish, fried oyster, shrimp, whiting, or flounder platters, that come with 2 sides (which include coleslaw, fries, baked beans, collard greens, and more). You can turn that surf into a sandwich, and their turf (burgers) for lunch too! I copped what I’ve ALWAYS got!! Their breakfast platter with bacon, cheese eggs, cheese grits ($12.90), a side of scrapple, and my beloved French toast with a lemonade!! STAMP EVERYTHING!! I’ve been getting this same meal for years, and the formula that initially drew me in is still there!! There is integrity in their food, let alone deliciousness. In my opinion, this is the BEST BREAKFAST you can get in D.C. period!! Crispy house made bacon, just right grits, thin but meaty scrapple, and scrambled eggs that are close to perfection!! Don’t think so? Try it!! Change my mind!! That’s it. #Bestbreakfast #EasternMarket #Bigschlimsrrviews #bacon #cheeseeggs #scrapple #cheesegrits #frenchbreadfrenchtoast #localmaplesyrup #deliciousness #nostalgic #goideats #fightme #tryit #thatsit

Lawrence Brooks: Visited the restaurant on Sunday for a brunch with my wife. The staff was friendly and service was extremely fast considering the crowd of folks ordering. The food was very good. I had the blueberry buckwheat pancakes with eggs and potatoes and my wife had the French toast with eggs and bacon. The pancakes and French toast were more than we could imagine eating in one sitting and were soo good that we took them home for breakfast the next day. We plan to return for lunch to try their other menu items!

Nisey’s Boutique: I went to use my replacement certificate this morning! That the owner emailed to me for a awful breakfast my client & I received! & when I tried to use MY certificate the cashier made me feel like I stole it! The staff was not helpful They tried to call owner! Lol 😝 no answer (not my fought! they said they called him! Then they insulted me in their language! I def. Understand biz. & help & etc. However a little judgement is helpful! But maybe it’s a African American thing? Idk! I had been a customer for years! Also familiar with the owner:( but staff needs some training on situations like these.

CN N: My friend from DC brought me here specifically to try the crab cake, and I wasn't disappointed. I'm not a huge fan of it to begin with, but the Market Lunch's crab cake patties are packed with meat instead of filler, fried perfectly and sandwiched in a soft white bread bun. Goes perfectly with their Southern sweet tea. If you're feeling extra hungry, we got the blueberry pancakes to share which were very fluffy and paired with their excellent maple syrup. It's a great local brunch spot for DC specialties.

Uncle Poodle: Always a good feed here. Crab cakes are worth the current high prices. Some places have removed them from the menu although. But they have always been known for them and I'm grateful that they still offer them and they are worth every penny.

Erin K Boyle: The owner is amazing. Full of happy upbeat energy. He was so engaged with the customers he helped us pick our food and poured our coffee. Crabcakes Eggs Benedict Pancakes Crabcake sandwich

ivana gobbo: What a great experience. The gentlemen in the cashier is great! He is super funny and gives you the best suggestions, so you better listen to him :p We really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food is delicious: the crab cake Benedict it’s amazing... They are famous for the blueberry pancakes (delicious as well). The service is great, very nice staff, convenient location and good prices. FYI: This place is cash only, so be prepared :)

Merrick Brown: Good pancakes, but refusing to accept breakfast orders after 1 pm on weekends (unless you go around the order taker and talk to the chef, as I saw one person successfully do) seems like a poor business decision. They close at 2 or 3 p.m. anyway, and both yesterday and today I saw customer after customer come up to order breakfast items after 1 p.m. and get turned away. You’re known for your breakfast items. Embrace it! It’s the weekend. Some people like to have brunch a little later.

Corey Flath: I had the shrimp and grits and my wife had the blueberry buckwheat pancakes. This place is as good as advertised and I recommend stopping by. It was so good we went back again the next day! Had the fish breakfast with a crab cake and the fried green tomato benedict. Both of these items were also great, I think we'd go back again tomorrow but I'm headed home!

Lauren Kessler: Found this place in the Washingtonian magazine and am so happy I did! What a rare find - no frills eatery inside Eastern Market offering wild-caught seafood, mostly local, and reasonably priced meals. Grab a spot at the community table or one of the few high tops in their section or take to-go. You won’t regret it. We got there around 10:30 am and within 10 minutes, the line had quadrupled so earlier the better on the weekends! Do not miss the blueberry buckwheat pancakes with real whipped butter and real maple syrup. The shrimp and grits were quite tasty too - huge difference in flavor between wild-caught shrimp and the alternative. Only suggestion to the restaurant would be to get tastier buns for the breakfast sandwiches!

Sincerely Breakfast: what do users think?

Lindsey Stiles: We grabbed Sincerely Breakfast on our way down to the National Mall and holy moly. It was amazing! They also have a few great gluten-free items. Would highly recommend!
Response: So glad you enjoyed your food Lindsey! :) Yay for Gluten-Free!

Marcelus Wilkinson: This place has absolutely fire food!! The biscuit was soft and didn’t cake up in your mouth, the fried chicken had a crispy, well-seasoned batter, the eggs were moist and flavorful. Top notch! They don’t use that cheap paper bacon, it has a well balanced thickness and was cooked to perfection! The oatmeal was sensational and would be a joy for anybody who enjoys sweetness and freshness with their breakfast! Don’t miss it, it’s an underground kitchen right beside another jumping restaurant, and I am so glad I broke their hosts hearts by asking where the Sincerely Breakfast’s entry was!
Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review Marcelus! :) We're so glad you were able to find us and try the biscuit, bacon, and eggs! #biscuit #oatmeal Hope to see you again :D

jude beck: Ordered the strawberry cheesecake french toast 3 times now. Overnight oats come out pretty quick for a breakfast bite in the morning. Kiosk order.
Response: Glad you enjoyed the Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast Jude! :) #Kiosk

Paul G: Awesome place hidden in DC’s dupont circle! Great people working and a really fun and ever expanding menu!
Response: Thank you for the review Paul! :) Happy to serve Dupont with tasty food!

Ashley: The food was delicious and the service was great at this small kiosk style restaurant. I would definitely return.
Response: Thank you for your review Ashley! We're so glad you enjoyed the food <3 :) Hope to see you again!

Chloe Memoir: The crab-avocado biscuit is absolutely fantastic! Listen, I was a little disappointed because it wasn’t a full blown restaurant- their concept is more “GRAB & GO” but despite all that I just had to leave a review because I WILL BE BACK! That biscuit remind me of Red Lobster- but only THIS ONE IS BETTER! Omg. I also had the French Toast which was delightful on its own as well- I just wasn’t expecting that biscuit to be that good!!
Response: A pleasure to serve you Chloe! :) #JumboBiscuit

Davaish Singh: incredibly salty food, esp the chicken biscuit bfast sandwich (the chicken was awful and just reheated hockey puck) and also dry burrito. the potatoes and bacon are good sides. also no utensils or condiments or anything was given when asked

John Armstrong: The breakfast biscuit is delicious and buttery, a big portion, and a great price for DC! Takeout only ghost kitchen set up.
Response: Glad you enjoyed the biscuit John! :^)

Raynell Tillman: These folx can breakfast! If you know you know and if you don’t get breakfast there and find out! Breakfast burritos and overnight oats there are fiyah!
Response: Thank you Raynell! So gald you enjoyed your breakfast burrito and Overnight Oats! The girls who get it, get it ;)

Josh Gordon: This food is unbelievable. I have ordered 3 times in the last 2 weeks and can't wait for another biscuit!
Response: Thank you Josh! :) #biscuit

Le Bon Café: what do users think?

Abdulgaleel Alhazmi: I ordered a Panini grilled chicken & roasted tomato. And I ordered Belgian waffle and a croissant and a blueberry scone. It took less than 10 minutes to full fill my order. And the Paninis tasted like they were made in heaven. The waffle was out of this world it’s like they were made out of my imagination and tasted better than I could dream to imagine. All that cost less than $32.

Jonathan Chan: Charming and intimate place. There is outdoor seating. Inside can be a little loud and busy. Lots of food options. Great spread on the caffeine. If you're in a rush and just grabbing coffee you might want to pass. Across the street from the Library of Congress

Desmond Alque: Fantastic little Cafe with some great food and amazing coffee. The staff are super nice, and though the inside space is small, outside dining space is available.

chan ham: A local place for brunch and serving good sandwiches...I thought no specialty cusine in particular...it is better for couples cuz the space is so small for families

Jon Scott: Cute place to grab a coffee and pastry or lunch. We had the Turkey club with potato salad. It was outstanding. Close to the Library of Congress and Capital.

Mark P: This place was really good! My fiance and I were staying at the capital hill hotel and walked around the corner to get breakfast. super easy to order and go or to pull up a cafe table and stay. We got their baked egg strata which was amazing, so were the breakfast potatoes. Fresh fruit and croissant were also amazing.

karen riobo: The food is amazing and the staff is friendly. The have flavored lattes which I appreciate because it’s never the same. Their soups are delicious as well.Croissants are to die for! This is my second time and I have not been disappointed yet… ;)

Tyler Broyles: Not particularly impressed. We ordered oatmeal, egg and cheese Croissant, and two Cafe mochas. The oatmeal was bland and watery. The croissant was good but nothing out of the ordinary. And finally the mochas tasted burnt, they over steamed the milk, and you couldn't taste the mocha at all. Not particularly satisfied with my first visit.

Victoria A: This is my first time visiting. I had the baked egg strata. It was delicious! I would definitely recommend this place!

Sophia Forte: A little piece of France. The white chocolate raspberry mocha was unbelievable. So delicious and the perfect way to start the morning. The wait was fairly quick given the amount of hands in the kitchen and customers making orders. Overall a wonderful experience.

Corner Bakery: what do users think?

Calvin Bryant: We we were trapped in DC because of the snow storm Jan 2022. We needed food and a place to escape from the Hilton capital hill for breakfast. Upon discovering Corner Bakery we found both. Great food, service and warm friendly atmosphere. Broccoli Cheddar soup saved the day!

Brian Hammer: This place was close to our hotel so convenient for some breakfast. A good variety of dishes and a great hazelnut coffee. I can also recommend their overnight oats with fruit. Very fair prices for washington dc.

Ukvayat Hanak: I am from rural America and this place was the closest to the prices I enjoy in the Midwest. The flavor was perfect and I will surely be seeking out a Corner Bakery the next time I am exploring DC. I felt more at home by sitting and enjoying breakfast here.

Alileiro: The food was cold. Eggs and bacon don't taste good when it's cold. The place wasn't very busy and staff was very helpful and friendly too!

Brett Daviau: Great place for a quick bite. Everyone comes here. Always a line out the door and a pile of bikes outside. Plan on wain the morning.

Athanasios Chantis: We had to wait 45 min to get our order. After the first 30 min of waiting I went to find out what is going on, only to realize that they had forgotten about it. We had ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese (not even toasted), oatmeal, scrambled eggs with bacon and latte coffee. Instead, they brought us a bagel with sesame seeds and butter, scrambled WITHOUT bacon, and NO latte. They said they could not give us a plain bagel because they were frozen! How do you call yourself a BAKERY when you serve prepacked frozen bagels?! I had to go back to o remind them that according to what is in my receipt I ordered a latte. The quality of the food and the way it looked was like a $0.99 breakfast you can get in some places. Only we paid 30x that. In fact, I'm sure that other than the latte, they bought this stuff for that amount from a place like 711, warmed it up and served there. Avoid, avoid, avoid! I'd rather have no breakfast than have it there. The word "bakery" in the name of the place is deceptive. I'm pretty sure NOTHING is actually baked there. They serve prepacked frozen food.

Daniel Sheffer: Strange location in DC. Closes early at 3. Low staff I guess it’s the times but ordering a simple sandwich was a challenge , lady didn’t know I just wanted a full sandwich not the half combo. I said ok fine give me the soup too , we don’t have soup. Bizarre experience. Needs better Management.

Jason Alipio: My wife and I are visiting DC and decided to try breakfast here. I was shocked by how bland everything was. I had to douse everything in Tabasco, salt, and pepper to give it some flavor. The onions weren't grilled, so they added a very harsh taste to the potatoes. On a positive note, the coffee was delicious.
Response: Jason We are very sorry to hear this and we'd like to learn more so our Guest Relations team may follow up with you on this issue. Would you please visit http://bit.ly/2odGMuG and complete the form located there? Thank you!

Brandyce Hill: Great looking menu but food was cold! I got the Breakfast power bowl which has eggs and when i tasted them, they were cold. I thought no big deal because it's with salad which is cold. But my husband got the pancake combo with bacon and EVERYTHING WAS COLD. He refused to take it back. Good flavors but won't be coming back.

Tamry McCauley: There are certain foods that feel like home whenever I travel... if I can find a Corner Bakery restaurant to grab some soup or a chicken pomadoro sandwich, I'm good. The soup is rich and creamy and even after walking 2 blocks it was still steaming hot when I got back to my hotel. It's a refreshing break from eating in a hotel, and the short walk was just right...this location is busy, but they got our food out pretty quickly... There are some changes with the drinks and seating area due to covid, so you may want to take that into consideration.

Marion NYC: Nice selection for breakfast and/or brunch. The staff was very friendly. The place is clean. The food was good. This place gets very busy. Come early. Tons of outdoor space but only when it’s warm enough. Definitely check this place out! I recommend this place for a meal.

Debra Borromeo: My family and I are visiting DC and were looking for a place for 7 of us to have breakfast. The staff here was very friendly and went out of their way to quickly put together seating for us. I ordered the avocado toast and it was the best avocado toast I’ve ever had - crisp bread, ripe avocados and perfectly cooked eggs. I would definitely return.

Voldemort aka Rockstar: D-D-D-Delicious, OMG 😱 5/5⭐️ Foamy Coffee, Rich on Salmon eggs Benedict, Ham&Cheese crepes with yummy mustard sauce, and of course DESERTS 🤤 (I’m not a food photographer 😅, but trust me it’s so good) Recommend it 100% 👍🏻

Timothy Sawwah: We had a breakfast. Loved the food. The portions can be a bit bigger, but overall it was a good experience. Try the chocolate banana crepes!!!
Response: Thank you so much Timothy for the 5 stars ! We are happy you had a great experience with us ! We look forward to having you back very soon !

Rod CeFu: Decent food at best. French toast was good. Don't order the falafel. Never had such small pieces that were so dried out. Throw in pita with some hummus and that was $15. Had better omelets at diners. Orange juice is definitely not fresh. Service was great though.

Liz Garner: This was the best meal I've had since I've been in Washington DC for a week. I got coffee and a saucer and cup not in a big mug or paper cup I got a great meal of Norwegian salmon bagels tomatoes capers onion spinach and mimosa all for $25. Great atmosphere I love it. I would post a picture but I forgot my phone

Jenna A.: 11/2021: First, I'll share that the staff is super friendly here! I ordered a large latte and the french onion soup. I give it three stars because I didn't find anything special about the food. It took a long time to get our order (my friend got quiche) which we thought wouldn't take long. Some menu items they don't make anymore and it was pricey for the soup (came in a small bowl). I'd would come back for sure, but will mostly come for coffee, a quick pastry and the friendly atmosphere. Update: After the comment and visiting more for coffee, this place has a wonderful staff. Their genuine delight made me change my review from 3 to 4 stars. I appreciate a friendly atmosphere in such a large city.
Response: Jenna , first and foremost , thank you for the kind words and support , we will definitely look into it immediately and fix this problem ! Can't wait to have you back ! The Bread and Chocolate Team !

Mark Frank: This place is underneath the Kaiser medical building and was delicious. They had food but I asked if I could just get a coffee and pastry and they said of course! The prices were reasonable (about $3 for coffee and $3 for muffin), the workers were super friendly and the space was really nice and calm.

Tanisha Hendrix: The atmosphere is amazing with a cozy feel and lots of outdoor seating. Be patient, as they were very busy. But, they managed to still make our trip expedient and excellent. We ordered the eggs Benedict, cinnamon roll, and turkey egg and cheese sandwich and it was all exceptionally delicious!

Tristan Moody: Stood at the host stand for 10 minutes without ever being acknowledged by any staff to seat us until we flagged someone down. Sat at the table for 20 minutes without ever being visited by a server. We left hungry after a neighboring table told us it took 40 minutes to get their food. Even the to go case was thinly stocked. Wasn't going to miss timed tickets to the Smithsonian for that. The server who saw us leave was very apologetic, but I wouldn't recommend coming here until they get their act together better.
Response: Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Tristan . We are terribly sorry for our service during your visit. Thanks again and we hope you can give us another chance.

Paolo Verzani: exceptional espresso program. Truly incredibly gifted craftsman. When I visit from NYC I without fail come to visit this cafe and I always get a flat white and enjoy the oudoor seating they have and read my Bible and just unwind. It’s the greatest cafe with a really stunning food selection too! I love their avocado toast, it goes well with their habenero spicy jam!

Ido Simyoni: Such a hipster place for a weekend brunch. Really enjoyed the vibe, service and food. Everyone was so nice and friendly.

Sofia Diaz: We went because of the good reviews online, the place was nice and cozy we were excited to eat there. However after ordering and having paid we were told that we had to eat outside in the rain. It was not the best experience to say the least. Food was ok. I would have preferred to have been given a heads up before ordering.

Lindsay Bishop: The coffee, food & service here is fantastic! I'm a regular at this point- it's a great casual environment to work out of with excellent quality food & espresso. The vanilla Tahitian Latte Iced with Oat Milk is incredible, as well as the avocado toast & breakfast sandwich. Highly recommend!

Angela Huffaker: Carrot cake muffin with sage and cream cheese + breakfast sandwich where amazing, but the coffee was the show - Maximum Effort put in

Jeff E: Great coffee and food. They need to update their offerings online as they say open for dine in and they are not.

S B: Several people behind me got their orders before me. i asked what happened; woman said sorry making your red eye now. she had two cups in her hands and couldn’t tell which one had espresso shots and which one had something else. shockingly, during the pandemic, her colleague put his nose in both to figure it out. took a sip and it was full of vanilla. returned, and she acted like this was a casual mishap—really though, she forgot my red eye and then made a it with shots of vanilla, and then just handed me a new cup of coffee on the spot without even making espresso. kind of grossed me out and i had to work way too hard for a simple order that was overpriced ($6+).
Response: Hi there, we always aim to provide a great experience and we are very sorry that we did not deliver on that for you. Thank you for letting us know so that we can do better. We would appreciate the opportunity to make it right for you, can you please send us an email at sayhello@slipstreamdc.com with your name and contact info? Thank you again and we hope to make it right!

Ian Desouza: Came to this cafe because of the reviews but unsure how it’s reviewed so highly. Just ordered a couple of oat lattes, the price (excluding tip) was greater than $12. Unfortunately one of the worst coffees I’ve had, tbh I would rather go to Starbucks. The staff’s perfunctory service failed to compensate for a poor quality coffee.

Sue Loftis: This was such a cute little coffee shop. Small and not kid friendly. I had the vanilla iced latte, it was perfectly sweetened, not too much sugar that overpowered the coffee flavor. And the Avocado toast was prob the best I’ve had anywhere. I’ve never had it the way they make it but I was pleasantly surprised.

cosmopus: Nice, cozy place. Nice spot to start your day with.Negative side: not clean utensils

Tony's Breakfast: what do users think?

Bluroc Obama: Ordered 2 breakfast platters for ~15$. Food was great. Pancakes were fluffy and buttered, sausage patties were perfectly cooked, French toast was soft and full. The eggs could’ve been fluffier (vs. fried hard) , but were good nonetheless. Food was ready 10min after order on a Saturday night. Definitely going back!!!

Julian Fishov: Love this place, been coming here for years and it seeems like everytime they are updating something or renovating things to bake the place better. Last time I was there they upgraded their chalkboard menu that was hard to read to tv screens which is really easy to read and will organized. This is great take out place, it's usually busy, nowhere to really sit. Food here is delicious, never been disappointed. Love that they offer gizzards and mumbo sauce, just ask. Very friendly staff.

Jonathan Murphy: When I did live in DC, I would love to go to this place for breakfast but I went to the new Tony's Breakfast on the corner but this is what I got when I went home and ate some chicken. I gave three stars only because I know that they have good food but they just need to wear hair nets correctly at this new location.

Andrew Theiss: Best tasting and most affordable breakfast sandwiches in area. But they don’t have jalapeños! Please add jalapeños. Better than any breakfast sandwich place I ever found in NYC, Boston, or Dallas.

Isaiah Becton: Only place I know with Turkey Scrapple..Love their breakfast Sandwiches..I would prefer more of an Authentic Sweet Tea but their Triple Mixes are crack.Good wedges and good wings withe good mumbo sauce'

Clifford Washington: I been dining ate this place forever and have never been disappointed... they make some of the best breakfast 🥪 in D.C. hands down 💯

Edward Holloway (NuVizion): Definatly one of the go to spots in DC for some great breakfast! This place feels "home-ly" , so expected to be treated like family..... Like you live and go there most days

LaTasha Young: The food is good but the service could use some improvement. I called to place an order and a woman answered the phone. She immediately put the phone down and said “somebody needs to get this because I’m going on break”. No one ever came back to the phone so I hung up and had to walk in to place my order.

Mike Wash: The Asian lady was rude my pancakes was covered with hot oatmeal witch made it wet then when I asked for a different pancakes she gets mad and tell me that's how it is. Never again. Real bad service and presentation of food was real bad. Pancakes all wet. Been going here for a year now but now I'll be taking my money across the street .real rude lady never again

Paul Askew: The services is fantasy employees are always very respectful to all customer especially to senior citizens the food is fantasy taste great. I hope they will stay in the community for very long time.

The Highlands: what do users think?

Silvia Oakland: A great cafe on 14th!!! I stopped after a day of wondering and exploring and I’m so glad I found this place. Service was incredible and so was the food. I’m from a small town in the Midwest and I felt right at home in this little place. Thank you!

Muriel Cooper: Always a great time at Highlands! The food selections arr incredible and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Great spot for weekend Brunch in a quiet, unassuming neighborhood. Dine in or take out, you will be pleased with your decision to choose Highlands, anytime.

Deborah Randall: RUDE RUDE RUDE … I ordered food and got a coworker to pick up my food. When I got there it was the wrong food… I called and explained that I received the wrong food she first apologized and said would I like to get something else… I wanted the French toast so I asked if I could have what I asked for which was the French toast she told me they don’t have that… okay I said well I wish that was told to me I just would have canceled my order. She said so what do you want me to do about it… I said just refund the money back… she preceded to put me on hold to come back and tell me that I need to drive and bring the food back and she will refund me the money… all this back and forth would’ve been avoided if they would’ve stated they didn’t have what I needed at the time of pick up or on the phone when the order was placed. I wouldn’t even made a fuss if better costumers service was practiced.

Anthea Cooper Bradley: Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch or Dinner this Restaurant is Awesome, Meals are prepared to your liking, service is , will, just go experience for yourself. You will get hooked, NW DC,. Visit the. Highlands on 14 the St, NW DC, you're going to love it. My family and friends do.

Sam Ballantine: dry grits good eggs great chicken and good waffles

Jailyn Stone: Thia place was a true diamond in the rough. The reviews had me hype until I got there. I was skeptical but everything was so good. They had a vegan gyro that was delicious. My kids enjoyed the waffles. And hubby said French toast was very good. I was already stuffed but what I had of the grits was good. I would highly recommend this place.

Nathaniel Clayton: The baby G was served minus the shredded onions which I felt was a missed chance for me since it's part of the ingredients. The waffles are large soft and delicious although the syrup was way too loose for my liking and the butter, syrup, and waffle combination had a weird tangy after taste. The fried chicken was fried to a golden perfection and great simple flavor. Eggs are hard to mess up but the bread here is delicious. It's a quaint spot that is great to grab a bite and very inviting interior.

Romona Foster: The Highlands was a nice surprise. I was invited to lunch at this wonderful little place. Service was excellent, the food was really good, the space was cozy, and I loved the art work and community environment. If you love community, culture and people, check the Highlands out! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kelsey: Very cute spot in 16th St. Heights with reasonable prices and great food! Would definitely recommend coming in for breakfast.

Charnika Walker: When I say everything, I mean everything is delicious. I've tried everything on the menu. That's where the issue lies. You'll go there and end up ordering several entrees because you can't decide on one. But it's so fresh and delicious.
