Blues Alley Club: what do users think?

Laetitia Monnier: Awesome club ! We went there for a date night and it was a great experience. There is little table around the stage where you can get close and cozy. The atmosphere is dark and felted which is perfect for a romantic date. The music was awesome too. It was a mix of jazz, blues, hip-hop and it was definitely perfect. The food was good too with choice from southern cuisine which we love. I think it’s a must do in DC and we’ll definitely come back and recommend it to our friends and family !

Tom Williams: This spot is dope and laid back, I like the location also. The drinks and food were good, this is a must go I will return for sure. They do ask for your vaccination card so don’t be surprised about that. Give it shot and enjoy yourself.

Michael Goodman: Good little historic jazz club in DC. Good space, nice acts coming through. A bit stuffy for my taste, as I usually prefer walk-in casual spots, and this requires tickets in advance. But forcing ticket sales does at least encourage active listeners rather than a raucous, drunken bar crowd. Pretty good layout, good view of the band from most seats in the house. The food is something awful. Get dinner elsewhere.

Carol F: LOVE Blues Alley! Great venue and line ups always. The drinks and appetizers I've had were all very good. I just wish they had a membership. You know... Something like: pay x amount a year and get go to go x number of shows with a simple click. I'd probably go more often.

Adam Galazka: Decided to try this place out for our first jazz experience in DC. It was good. It does get very congested in there as the tables are very close to each other. There was a minimum of $15 order. You can QR code order everything and even check out online. I thought that process was very smooth. Music was good. You are close to the stage. It did take us asking 3 times for some water. It is also warm in there. Can't imagine how it would feel on a warmer day. They also require to see vaccination card. Photo of one is fine.

Anne Schumann: Blues Alley is open and putting on great shows. Vaccinations are required to enter but masks are optional (as of this review). Expect to pay a cover plus a food and beverage minimum. Tickets can be purchased online in advance and there are shows most nights of the week ranging from school bands, local up and commers and national talent. There is a parking garage right across the street or on weeknights you can usually find street parking.

Kelly Smith: The atmosphere was excellent the music had me on the edge of my seat. Paul Taylor and Michael Lington were awesome 👌. The only thing I didn't like was not getting my drink i ordered. They were slow if they have a drink price minimum we should be able to get what we want. Other than that a Great place to visit

Shantell Hartley: The music was great. However, the service was terrible!!! The show started a little after 10pm. I didn’t get my drink until 11:30pm. Right after I got my drink, the show ended!!! They continually got our drink orders wrong and didn’t have any of the mixers we ordered. They even sent a mixed drink to our table in two different glasses, unmixed. It was a MESS! I finally had to ask for my drink to be mixed with a coke since they didn’t have anything else. It was not delicious. I couldn’t even drink it. I had to ask for extra soda because it was so strong. I am really disappointed by this experience. I should have gotten a refund! The two stars are only because the music was good.

Terri Miller: Blues Alley never disappoints! The pefect venue for enjoying live music. The staff is friendly and professional. I saw one of my favorite artist Kim Waters. It was an amazing performance and outstanding band. I looking forward to going back soon.

J D: Wonderful jazz music in a historic carriage house. The quality of the music and musicians was equal to what we hear at our local concert venue. Owners are hospitable and service is quick and efficient. We enjoyed beverages but want to try the food on our next visit. Check this place out and do your part to support live jazz music and a lively venue.

Madam's Organ: what do users think?

Brad Badger: My girlfriend and I made sure to stop here after she had been here years ago and loved it. Our bartender Deborah was 10/10. She made some amazing drinks and was incredibly great to us. We got an appetizer sampler and the fried fish bites were absolutely killer. Live music was great as well. Cool vibes and great service. I will definitely stop by Madams Organ again the next time I am in DC!

Eve Breier: Lovely atmosphere! The music is good, bartenders are friendly, nice mix of club-like dance floor upstairs, seated area on the middle floor, and a bar/performance area downstairs. It has it all. Also pretty funky decor all over.

James Bladen: I really wanted to try this place and menu sounded good, but waited over 15 minutes or more for someone to take my order and never did! I asked the bartender if someone was going to wait on my table and I could not hear what his response was, he just mumbled something. I was being as patient as possible and understand places are short staffed. There was a big table of around 10 people upstairs and I was by myself downstairs, I guess that explains it. The bartender was more interested staring at his phone than making sure his customers were taken care of. I was going to order a large order and I do tip good, but sorry, you just lost a customer and me recommending a place if you ignore solo diners like that.
Response: Sorry it didn’t work out for you. We are having labor issues but that is no excuse

Stacy Walker: Awesome spot, easy bar, and amazing entertainment! Check them out on Tuesday nights for great live music

Marieke Kooymans: Worst service we've ever had.. We were a group of 4 and came for dinner and to perform at the open mic. We were completely ignored when we came into the bar, even though it was quiet. At some point we just sat down and when the waitress finally came we asked for cocktails. She threw (literally) a crumpled stained cocktail menu on the table that looked as if it was taken out of the trash. She later explained they don't serve cocktails anymore which maybe explains..? We felt pretty invisible during dinner, it took a long time to order food/drinks and our plates weren't cleared away. We made a pile ourselves of the dishes and napkins ,and when dessert came the pile was cleared away, but the waitress took off the used napkins and put them back on the table for us to reuse. We ordered 2 desserts and got 1, but decided to let it go and just ask for the bill. We tried to get the attention of the waitress but failed. After 20 minutes we walked around to find her and asked her to pay. She looked at us and then ignored us and walked away. it felt very disrespectful. We considered leaving cash on the table and just leaving (risking the cash to be taken by someone else in a now crowded bar). The kitchen porter then came by to clear the rest of our table and we asked him for the bill as a final attempt. He was very friendly and helped us. The waitress then told us the price to pay but we asked for a receipt. She seemed very annoyed and finally arranged a receipt. It took us in total at least one hour and a lot of effort to pay! At this point we did not feel welcome and just went home without playing at the open mic.

Ieshia E. Butler: Food was just ok. Nothing to write home about. I am from the Caribbean and was expecting the soul food to be a bit more flavorful. The waitress was really nice and the menu was affordable.
Response: Maybe you wanted Caribbean food and not Soul food

Amanda: Great dark chilled atmosphere. Multiple floors with a partially covered roof top bar. Live bands. Friendly speedy service. Reasonable food and drink prices. Pool table available.

SHIKATSE KPANYAA: Great Place to have fun in DC. Live bands, hip-hop and country. Three different dance floor at the same place. Judy go to where you wanna have fun. They don't have meals so get something to eat around

DiiJay Victorious: Great place. Bouncer is cool and ppl are sociable. Bands are cool. Beware atmospheres change momentarily and without notice (not for badly, just different crowds)

Alison Scott: Loved the live music, bartender was so friendly! Amazing vibes - so glad we stopped in here. One of my favorite stops while visiting DC

Columbia Station Club: what do users think?

Ayaz Khan: A fantastic jazz venue. Had a great experience. The owner, Mahari, personally checks on all the guests. The bartender Lena is lovely.Great service, relaxed atmosphere. Real Jazz start kicking off around 9pm. Great performers. Will certainly be frequenting this place regularly.

cristalebella B: The owner welcomed us in immediately andmade us feel at home. The Jazz was what dragged us in, and it progressively got better and better. I sipped on my dirty martini and enjoyed all the ambiance this place had to offer. Meoowwww all that was missing was Eartha Kitt 😉 😘

Allison Lau: Reliable establishment for good live jazz & blues. Columbia Station is iconic on 18th street - their unadulterated presence breathes life into the streets. Warm atmosphere with a welcoming hostess, and no cover. We usually just order drinks here because food service can be slow. Stay however long you want - you won't be disappointed with the show!

U.B. Abalu: Ha! I should have read the reviews before coming back here :p The jazz music is great. This has always been a favorite spot of mine, until recently. Had the worst dining and service experience. First of all, when you show up you seat yourself, which is fine. The waitress/bartender brought me a menu and didn't even come check on me again after I placed the menu down and was making eye contact, obviously ready to ask for something, while she was chit-chatting with the other waitress in the corner. I was waiting for my partner to arrive, and when he did, they came to take our orders. He ordered wine, and I wanted to start with water with a lemon. They brought his wine but not my water. Took them 10 minutes to get me a simple glass of water (and the lemon was missing by the way) and I had to ask them for it a second time. Then we ordered the seafood pizza, but they brought out the seafood platter (50 minutes later). We said seafood "pizza" very clearly, but the waitress was not listening. We didn't want to be late for a comedy show next door, so we told them to cancel the order and we'd eat somewhere else, yet they insisted that they would bring our order to us next door and even had the audacity to ask us to pay in advance. Pay for what?? We didn't receive any food yet and service was terrible. We ended up receiving the seafood pizza (a full 1 hour and 10 minutes later by the way) which was delicious. It took additional time for them to bring us small plates. The wait staff don't seem to care that much. The place had been picking up and they seemed oblivious to their bad service, and they seemed slow, under-trained, and overwhelmed. My partner usually always, always leaves a generous tip, but this is the first time I've ever witnessed him leaving ZERO tip. The service was that bad. It was such a terrible service experience. And you know what? There are plenty of jazz/dining options in DC, and we simply won't be coming back to this place.

YT White: This place has great music and very cool vibes. The menu is limited but it's not about the food.

Ellie Twigg: Ugh. Great potential in this AdMo spot but unfortunately, the service from bar staff and ownership is so bad. Horrendously overpriced drinks and rude bartenders in a place that hosts amazing live Jazz music and the occasional comedy night. Diverse crowd and a packed house with little to no service to the seated tables or those sat at the bar. Didn’t keep proper tabs on our bill so we were charged a seemingly random amount. We might be back but only for the jazz and comedy.

Genny Henry: Hello. I have been to this establishment three times and all three times the server has been incredibly rude. Once she charged us for a drink that she tossed when I had simply went to the bathroom. This time was the last straw. We came in and sat down, she greeted us by flopping the menus on the table without a word. Then she comes back three minutes later to ask if we're ready, without recommending anything on the menu, in which we replied, telling her that we were waiting for some friends to park before ordering. Five minutes later, she comes back, and places the promotion card on the table, pointing out the fact that it's a $10 minimum to stay, without saying a word, she just pointed and stared at us. Our friends weren't even here yet and 8 minutes into this place, we already feel unwelcomed. At that point, we called our friends back and told them to not even bother. We asked her to speak to a manager, in which she replied with a face of discuss and anger, and said "What?! Why?" We told her that she was simply being rude. Then she replied, "So! I'm busy!" and snatched the menus off if the table. It was a Sunday night, there were maybe five tables and one person at the bar, she was obviously not busy. When she refused to even retrieve a manager, we walked out. We're never coming back. I just want to let someone know so that others won't have to go through what we went through. The Jazz is amazing, and I don't think it's fair to the talented musicians to see someone drive business away.

Keith Lopes: After we sat down, it took some time for the server to get to us. She was the only waitress on a very busy Adams Morgan Festival day. Also we had to wait for quite some time to actually get our food. The food was okay at best. Please don't get the chicken wings they were bready as hell, not crispy. We spent $50 on not so good food. Besides that, there was some pretty great live music, however it was too loud for the tiny space. If only we had walked two or three restaurants further we would have enjoyed our lunch.

Dwayne Evans: Laid back comfortable atmosphere with no pretense. Good service and music

Elizabeth Goodrich: Sat outside while the jazz band played. Highly recommend. Had the calamari for an app. It was SO good, lightly fried. Then we had a chicken pasta, delicious. Lots of vegetables and seasoned amazingly. Then my partner in crime had a steak that was Pittsburgh style. Sooo good. Came on a Sunday night! Jazz until 1am.

Jojo Restaurant and Bar: what do users think?

Fernanda Lanzagorta: The live music is definitely the best asset of this restaurant. Its 10 dollars for the the music. We were expecting more on the food, the fries and apple tart were the best of all. The ambiance is so cozy and inviting. I’ll come back for the music and the desserts.
Response: Thank you!

Ev B: This place was PERFECTION! Shot out to our waiter we called him DK (I can't remember his real name sorry) who was GREAT‼️ Excellent Customer Service and the food was AMAZING! THE BAND WAS PHENOMENAL! The Lady at the front door who greets everyone was so sweet and nice. Oh I can't wait to go BACK❤️
Response: Thanks Ev, see you soon!

Victoria Little: 20% gratuity added to check, $2 fee to per person because we brought a cake in. Oh and $10 added to tab for the band, was removed since they weren't playing before we departed. It was a little disappointing since none of this was mentioned when I reserved a table for five. Food and drinks were average. Do yourself a favor and go to a better place for the price.
Response: Thank you, and please take a look at our reservation notes, it's mentioned so its clear to our guest.

mletts423: This is a great spot! The Jazz was incredible. It is a small bar with great sound. The bartenders work really hard and make great drinks! I highly recommend this place!
Response: Thamks, you are the best. Check out our happy hours daily from 5pm-7pm.

Vicki J (MylifeMystyle): Jojo’s a vibe ! If you like jazz / live music then check it out when in DC . There’s a $10 cover for the nights the band is playing live for downstairs seats. The food is tasty as well .
Response: Thank you Vicki, we hope to see you soon.

Anita Molina: What a little gem. We came to enjoy some late night jazz. Cozy inside, atmosphere was fantastic. Loved the ambiance. Excellent food, excellent drinks and most importantly excellent music. We will be back.
Response: Thank you

Emerson P. Daniel: interesting. food is great! the bartender pictured here touched my limes with his bare hands… and he kept going to the side to eat like taking chomps,,, i guess he was really hungry 😂😂😂overall— unsanitary and friendly in a fake way. oh and he didn’t know what the menu pictures were.. like what🤣🤣🤣 do you want me to get something?? and i kid you not my friend was asking about the picture and i literally figured out myself so you would THINK the bartender could do the same let alone know off bat—
Response: Thank you.

Tiffany Frazier: Loved this intimate spot on our weekend visit to DC. We didn't eat but everyone around us was and it looked yummy. We enjoyed the generous drinks and the Sol Roots Trio band. Will visit again on my next visit. Don't find many spots like this anymore.
Response: Thank you, see you soon!

Alex Moore: Came for the jazz and will probably only come back for the live jazz. The drinks were pretty standard, maybe a little too sweet on their fruit based cocktails. We had a reservation but had to wait ~20-30minutes for the table, despite arriving on time, since the party before us took their time to gather up and leave. The food was ok, and took a very long time to come out. Ordered the lamb chops rare, but only one of the 3 were rare. The chops varied in thickness too, which added to the uneven doneness. The dish was supposed to come with garlic mashed potatoes but came out with a few potato wedges instead, the spinach side was good. They add 20% gratuity to your bill and $10/head for live music.
Response: Thank you.

Charlene Bermudez: Bar seating, unless reservation for a table has been made. Food was probably exactly one notch higher than bar food, which is not bad at all. As for drinks, I ordered the ellington, which is worth trying out for it's originality and bold taste. The live music was great. The Keith Butler Trio was playing on the night I stopped by. Definitely recommend stopping by when they're scheduled to play.
Response: Thank you!

Vegas Lounge: what do users think?

Hezekiahsmom: They charged $15 dollars to get in. The band was ok but the singer was awful. He couldn't carry a tune at all. There were white people everywhere and I prefer more diversity. The only people of color was the band, the people that worked there and myself and friends. The bartender poured me a drink and it was literally half a shot. I switched bartenders and went with the black chick with locs and she made my drink much stronger. I hope they change bands and it's not always the same because i could have forgiven everything but the guy singing was just awful although he wouldn't know because there were drunk people dancing all over the place smh

Morgan Pearman: This place is absolutely disgusting. We paid the $10 each cover as a bachelorette party, had fun talking to the bartender then went to a bar next door after staff told us we should come back later when it was more lively. When we attempted to reenter the bar as we had been told, the bouncer was rude and called us expletives when we questioned why we weren’t allowed in. The bouncer then threw my friend’s phone into the street as we attempted to escape into an Uber. I am from NYC and have literally NEVER seen behavior like this.

Brian Washington: Had a great time....great atmosphere. Everyone was in a great mood and the band gave it all they had and then some. Played some BB KING, FRANKIE BEVERLY, JOHNNY GILL, to SWEET HOME ALABAMA and took requests!

BOOM BLACKA: Great place for the blues. The outside facet is red hot and so is the music. The blues has been apart of of Americana since before it's founding. Many of our fore father's where either slaves or slave owner's. Out of this history of oppression came what we know as the blues.@ it's heart the blues is a historic narrative of the African American's struggle to survive in a inhuman excistence not of their own choosing.Any one can feel the blues but only those who's historical narrative founded and grounded in slavery can clame it as their own. That trial by fire is the badge that can never be appropreated. That being said:"What happen's in the New Las Vegas Lounge stay's in the Lounge. Thank you very much.Viva Las Vegas.BoomBlack has just left the building.

Maria Vargas: I regret not having a minus rate, so my one is way over rated. The doorman didn`t even allowed my wife and I to get in arguing that my wife had too many drinks!!! I guess the guy was drunk, I am glad we did not go !!!

Brent Bjorkman: $10 cover to hear Loverboy covers and $9 drinks with zero booze. These kids are too stupid to know any better. At least on this night, this was NOT a blues bar.

Phil T.: Good for one night.... bathroom smelt like vomit veryyyyy bad. Seemed to be an accepted aspect of the bar.

Jerome Jackson: Cover was well worth it. Play the old school jams with the live music. Can't beat it!

Michele Raglin: Harrassed by members in bar and management did nothing to accept accountability- would not recommend

Nick Depaolo: What a blast. Awesome live music!

Alice's Jazz & Cultural Society: what do users think?

V Webster: Walking into Alice's Jazz and Cultural Society, is like walking into a jazz hall of fame. This place is a must see...and don't forget to enjoy the music! I will return!

Lasana Akachi: I checked out the place on one of the off days for performance. I was impressed with the mural and easy access of entry. The mural greatly encompassed the history and feeling of jazz from it's people oriented organic feel. The folksy vibe was definitely authentic. During it's hey-day, I was largely out of the DC area, so I didn't get to catch the performances as I would have liked, but I knew the manager DeAndrey Howard who is a consumate musician who has a love and appreciation for the music that I have witnessed first-hand over many years and countless venues. If anyone could insure the viability of the music and the place, I knew it would be him. The closing of Alice's place is a lost for us all.

Jadon Marianetti: What a lovely homie place to enjoy local jazz and culture. Every Wed and Sunday night from 6-9p. It's a 501(c)3... Alcohol free, $10 cover. Great artists. Great mission. What else is there to say... This is a low-key gem of Brookland and 5 minutes from the metro, right next to a delicious pizza place (menomale) and a great neighborhood gastropub (Brookland's finest) :)

Ashantie L. Taylor: I love this place. Particularly because it’s alcohol-free, but especially because my son, who is a toddler, is welcomed. Very warm and inviting establishment to enjoy some good music.

Patrice Douglas: My guy friend and I adore this place! We don't drink so it was awesome to find a jazz spot that doesn't serve alcohol! The food (fried fish & salad) is delicious! and the music is a feast for our ears. It's $10 to get in and another $10 for a plate. $40 date night in DC is great for the budget :) The staff there treat you like family. I miss it and can't wait for them to open back up after COVID. I can't say enough good things about this place!

Cynde Thomas: Personable staff, gracious host (DeAndre), excellent fish dinner, and great jazz, jazz, jazz in a livingroom set.

Jerry Lowell: Warm, intimate nin-alcohol club to see good local jazz. Diverse audience with love if music in comm.

Dennis Meizys: I am looking forward to the re-opening once it's safe again.

Laurie MJ: The place was like stepping back in time. Where people came to play because they enjoyed it. This night Pepe and Imani Gonzales was the entertainers

Angie Whitehurst: Great music. An old fashioned "hole in the wall" small cozy ," jazz club. A real treat and they only serve sodas, juice and snacks. There are performances scheduled throughout the week. You have to go on line to see who's performing. On Sundays around six the music is on. Go early to get a parking place, seat and or a table.

Pearl Street Warehouse: what do users think?

Nate B: We really enjoyed this place. The band was good. Service was great. I would definitely recommend this place.

Alexander White: This a decent to slightly below decent venue, they clearly cater to one type of crowd which is sad to see. The drinks are nicely priced so that is at least nice. The location is excellent, but with almost every other venue in DC being better I would not recommend this location.

Rakesh Kumar: We were there on boys' night out and wanted to feel the place. The place is cozily small. It filled up once the band got going. Overall a good place to spend an hour or so in company of good friends.

Eric Dadmun: I like the space and that they host local bands including students, but the way tickets were handled was far from transparent. I was told $7.50 at the door, but was charged $16 and online it says tickets were $10. No mention of a day of show rate. I'd appreciate more clarity in pricing.

Chris Moschkin: This place is amazing! For a small venue it's got great audio, line of sight, excellent service and mixologists, friendly door staff. Not as good as the now shuttered Gypsy Sally's, but great music (I love the All Good shoes!) and a friendly crowd.

Gerald Washington: We had an awesome time at pearl Street warehouse. My niece had a wedding there today. The live band was awesome and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Will be visiting again.

Cassie Mulheron: Thank you for a wonderful birthday experience. My sister and her friend had a great time despite being out for the first time following covid lockdown. It looks like things are coming together and that you listen to your customers, which will continue to improve the venue. I appreciate all the staff, especially my friend at the bar, up front and at the host stand. The food was Top Notch and the drinks were delicious. I hope that there are more comedy shows like this and happy that Rhea butcher was able to open up for you because they are doing important work.

Dave Younce: Great cozy venue and a great way to spend an evening at the Wharf

Andre Bierzynski: Amazing spot on the Wharf. Even if you’re not into the live music scene, you can enjoy their simple and delicious food, which is served by an incredibly friendly staff. Also, their breakfast is hands down the best thing about the Wharf on the weekends!

Terry Cox: What's not to like besides the price of parking? $17 for under 2 hours. Okay, the venue is quaint. The food was very tasty. The staff was super friendly. The Bloody Mary bar was over the top good. Try it out!

Takoma Station Tavern: what do users think?

Selinda Boyd-Graham: Had A Blast!! Great Vibes,Great Band and Great Food and Drinks. Deja Vu was experienced since I hadn't been here since College 😍

Janice Temple: So happy to hear 🎵🎶🎼that Jazz Music is back at Takoma Station Tavern on Saturday Nights. I saw the amazing Antonio Parker 🎷🎷😍 Jazz Quartet. Incredible raw emotions! Jazz that moves your soul. The drinks are 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 good and so are the Mombo Sauce Wings 🐔🐔🐔

Antoinette Nue: Not at all happy overall with my experience. My rating is 1-1/2 stars, not 2... and that's for the fries 😐 1. I just wanted Wings, shrimp and fries - - wanted to place an order by phone and pick it up around 5:30 before it got busy. There was no way to reach someone directly by phone - no 'press zero' option. I had to go in. 2. Even though they have 'Add shrimp' as a menu option for Caesar salad, I could not add shrimp to my Charlie Parker basket. The manager tried to mansplain why that was the case, but as with all mansplanations, it made no sense at all. He did agree to discuss it with the owners. 🤨 3. Lastly, the old menu is on the website with the price of $12 for what I wanted, and I had to twist the manager's arm to get him to honor that price. In the end, he gave me the $3 difference between what the register rang and what the online menu showed as the price, but having to twist his arm to honor the price dampened the experience. 4. What ruined the experience completely was that the wings were burnt. That's my fault though; I saw that before I left, but I didn't have any fight left in me. I had just finished an acupuncture treatment and was floating and didn't want to ruin my acupuncture high. I reasoned that maybe it was time to change the oil, but the wings would probably taste good. Once I got home, I found the wings to be tolerable - - with hot sauce on them - - and the fries were as good as they've been on past visits. Will I travel the distance for more of their wings? Nope, probably not. My acupuncturist gave me the name of two places that serve soul food. I think I'll try those instead.

Donald “Bulldog Forever” Sullivan: Been going here for years. Went recently on a Friday night and it was great. Nice crowd, great music and a mature setting. Would recommend to anyone. Be advised parking will be a challenge.

Marketta Hoskins: Went here for a bday sip and paint really nice establishment. Food was good they have a $5 happy hour until 8 p.m. only thing is that the chicken wings weren't done after sending them back twice. Other than that I would definitely recommend for a cute night out. Deserve area 420 friendly overall DOPE spot

Sincere Smith: Really enjoyed my visit! Although I'm vaccinated, I remain cautious; I must say that i was able to enjoy my food and beverages feeling comfortable and covid safe. The manager and bar tender were extremely nice gentlemen. The wings and shrimp were scrumptious!

Dresia Vaughn: Don't care 4 one particularly Ethiopian woman with short blonde hair that works at the bar, definitely not a people person. Personality and self attitude is all about self not the customer. Now overall Club 10 Stars

James Greene: Great place to relax after a long day at work at go chill.

W.Y B: Nice spot. People were kind. Drinks ok. It would be great if the food menu was better. I wish them well. Because that place could really really be a cool hang out.

Duncan Bishop: Great atmosphere to watch games and place bets. Wings were fantastic and service was friendly and quick. No complaints.

Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club: what do users think?

Cory Laws: Four stars for a nice venue and a good variety of performers. Good acoustics. Food is ok. Not great, not horrible. Acceptably decent. Drinks are expensive, but I guess that goes with the situation. Staff was nice, friendly and attentive, especially considering the crowd. I was a bit turned off with the bill. A 20% gratuity was added, with a supposedly "custom" tip. The custom part was on top if the already claimed 20%. Regardless, the music was good, and we had fun. Will be back.

Sassy Sauce: This is a nice club to see performers and enjoy an evening out with friends and family. The tables on the main floor are close together so get there early so you don’t have to navigate through so many people. The food and drinks are pretty good and the prices are reasonable. There is stadium styled seating in the back with approximately 8 rows of chairs. You can order drinks and food from the bar area and bring it back to your seat if you sit in the back stadium seats. The sound quality and acoustics of the musical performances is good as well.

S B: Nice venue and show - we went to a Sunday evening Stokely show and sat in the non-main area and was satisfied. Next time we'll try the table top area. The food was delivered in plastic take-out containers, so it isn't the usual dining experience, perhaps because of the pandemic. Highly recommend.

Dr. DeBo'rah Williams: The venue was nice, however sitting in seats off the floor, at a cost of $75.00; I thought it was inappropriate that we couldn't be served. In order for us mature adults to have to climb stairs and then desend from the Gallery to purchase food and drinks, I was astounded. I drove from Delaware to DC in order to observe the show, I will reconsider in the future.

Charita Mayo: I have been to Bethesda Blues many many times for so many events : live concerts, comedy shows and more. I enjoy myself every time. I love the options of artists they showcase. The tickets are reasonably priced. Now post Covid they changed management or food vendor & their food prices has increased ALOT! I do think that is ridiculous. You could eat before you arrive, but you still have to purchase something like drinks or dessert. Overall I always have a great time and enjoy the performance.

ange nance: I thoroughly enjoyed the show. This is a nice small venue. You get an excellent view of the stage whether you get a table or sit upstairs. The food and drinks are overpriced for the quality and quantity. I suggest eating before you go. But the entertainment was awesome. I will definitely go back again.

T O: We decided to go to a concert here and made a weekend getaway out of it. We drove 4 hours to get here so maybe my expectations were too high but I don’t think so. To start, the venue is ok but old and needs updating. We had two less than great mixed drinks that came in small plastic cups. With tax and gratuity, the total was $45. We ate before we arrived so didn’t order the food. Thank God we didn’t because a lady next to us ordered a $25 salad that came in a plastic container with a lid on it. All food came in a plastic container with a lid on it. If I’m paying this kind of money, there are expectations like a certain quality, glasses to drink from, dinnerware, and silverware. I previously bought tickets to another show here later this summer but am going to think hard about whether I’m coming back. The vibe was completely off and the cost of the tickets may be sacrificed. If you’re going to call yourself a “supper club”, you need to up your game cause this ain’t it.

Stephanie Bullock: Only giving a 1 star because of the Performer . I am in healthcare, and they DO NOT ask to see proof of covid- vaccine as the website stated. We went to see Stockley last Friday evening . The website stated that the doors open at 5pm but the rude security guard peeked his head out the door and said “Well the website is wrong, doors open at 5:30pm” Seeing that it was raining outside , I asked the security guard if I come inside just to use their ladies room, and he stated “ There is a bar across the street that may have a restroom”. My friends and I walked across the street to a beautiful bar owned by the Marriott , where we had the best bartender and the best drinks . We walked back over to the Bethesda Jazz club just in time for the show . Stockley put on a great great performance, but the staff was extremely rude, and I will say eat before you arrive because the food and service was not worth the cost . I will definitely revisit the bar across the street located at the Marriott for happy hour , but will never return to the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club.

Theressa “T” C: This was my first time here and I had an awesome experience. Bel'a Donna performed and they did an AMAZING job!! I ordered the southern fried wings and it was yummy.

Krista: There's a public parking garage behind the venue with 3 floor so keep driving down if it's full, you'll find something. $20 minimum at the table, which is fine because you'll only have to order one item to achieve. I came to see a comedy show. The tables were reasonably spaced. We sat in front on the lefthand side. Very vintage inside, which I love. The food was a little pricey for what you get. I didn't mind the plastic ware but it was $17 for 6 wings and the same for a small salad. The crew seemed to be organized and attentive to the best of their abilities. I will return... maybe after eating a filling meal 😁

9:30 Club: what do users think?

Brian Copes: I believe it was my second time at this club and it was a great time! Context - I went to a pride/DJ/ drag show event, but I believe it’s a concert venue in the DC area. Security - I believe they have a metal detector and they check your bags so be prepared and consider that from a time management standpoint. Venue- it’s huge with multiple levels including bars, bathrooms and places to stand/dance/watch. I heard there’s a lower level, but last night I was just on the balcony and main floor near the stage. Vibe - loved the mood and energy. It was packed around 11PM EST even though it started at 10PM. There’s was free water, disco ball, alcohol, lights, go-go dancers and people in the mood to have a fun night. Overall, I would recommend this place for a night out.

Ian Pitts: Cozy venue with multiple bars and some food options. Parking is only a block or two away and there are options for food right nearby within walking distance. The ticket checking process was smooth and they even checked a camera that was deemed "professional" for free during the show.

Saminda Wijegunawardena: First time I went to the 930 Club was the one on F Street in 1990. I was a senior in high school and went to see the Ocean Blue perform. They encored with the Smiths' "There is a Light that Never Goes Out" that night. The experience was incredible and indelible. The energy in that small crowded space embodied everything about live music that I enjoyed and was such a milestone for me in my young musical journey. When they moved to their current location a few years later, I was dubious about how it would be. But it didn't disappoint. I saw countless shows there from Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Morphine, and so many more. It somehow had the same intimate energy even in such a larger space. Now back after 2 decades in California, I have come to appreciate it even more. Recently saw Caribou and the Midnight and both shows were epic. Great sound, and always can get a good angle on the stage. Look forward to enjoying many more shows here in the years to come.

Anna S: I just took my daughter and her friends to this venue for the first time for an all ages show last night. I am so glad that I did! She and her high school friends had a great time! My friend and I had a nice view from the balcony bar and were able to enjoy ourselves and have our eyes on the girls at all times. We called the club earlier in the evening and the woman who answered the phone gave us great instructions on where to park as well! They take the mask and vaccinations proof seriously as well, which made me feel more comfortable about safety. Bathrooms were clean at the beginning and f the night. Overall, for a place to get 4 decades of people all enjoying the same music and scene, the 9:30 Club did a great job.

Michelle: What an awesome venue! I recently saw one of my favorite bands here and was blown away! The sound in this club is amazing! You can feel every beat and note. Also, great staff! Keeping it safe, but fun. 👍🏻👍🏻

Tori Barker: We barely waited in line and we showed up 15 minutes before the show began which in my opinion was fantastic. When I say barely waited I mean the staff greeted us immediately, looked at our vax cards and IDs and because my boyfriend had lost his mask we had to wait 1 minute so the staff could grab us one. The staff were so kind and even though it was super cold they had such a great attitude and welcoming vibe. So thankful for everything at the venue. The people inside were also great and of course the Bartender, fantastic. I could not ask for more from this venue. The set up inside is stunning and our show was amazing! I am from NC but came up to D.C. to see Misterwives and I am so glad it did. A night to remember from start to finish, thank you 9:30 for all you do to keep entertainment alive during these times.

Kevin Fiol: Great venue! Sound was awesome. Stage allows for great views etc. However... I was charged $2 for a 6oz cup of water. They do not sell bottled water (or intentionally sold me a TINY water) There's no place to smoke or vape once you enter the venue so you have to go outside and then go through the entire line again.

Nathan Faneuf: Amazing venue, been here twice so far. Would definitely see a show here. Bring ear plugs, very loud, but good sound. Drinks are expensive, 9 dollars for a shot of Jack Daniels. Friendly staff.

Osaurus G: This is a pretty good venue. Love all the bars and the openness of the floor. The balcony area offers some great views of bands (Bob Mould for me)

Aida mary: Absolutely fantastic venue for a live show! I watched Saint Paul and the Broken Bones plus Thee Sacred Souls play here. The energy was lit! Great location. Great customer service! Would definitely go again. Highly recommend

Basin Street Lounge: what do users think?

Chris Douglas: DEFINITELY go check this place out! The vibe and ambiance really hit the spot. While I didn't partake in a cigar this trip, I did enjoy a tasty beverage from their extensive liquor selection. I believe the bartender said over 300 bottles of varying type to choose from. One side of the bar is all the whiskeys/bourbons/scotches.. And the other side is all the clear liquors. The ventilation is very good as well. Yes - the place smells of cigars, but it isn't overpowering and adds to the ambiance. They have a long bar, and even a side room with comfortable chairs to hang out and relax with a cigar and a beverage. They also had a pretty good selection of cigars of varying type and price. Definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area.

Tanyika White: This place is WONDERFUL..celebrated my BFF BIRTHDAY at this Royal/Great Gatsby atmosphere and design. I LOVE IT. I will be returning🔥💎.

Matt Salchert: Upper floor cigar lounge has well-crafted cocktails and great music most nights. Gathers a pretty interesting mix of customers. But beware… this place gets smoky on weekends! I smoke a few cigars each week, so I’m not averse to some 2nd hand smoke. But on weekend nights the lounge gets PACKED and the ventilation system doesn’t keep up with the smoke. It’s like sitting in a smoldering house fire. I’d give the place a poor rating but, in all honesty, I haven’t spent much time on the lower floors where smoking isn’t allowed. So… a middling rating.

Joel Blea: Large selection of Scotch Whisky and Bourbon. Good music and cigars.

Gary Gamez: I’m giving a star because of how good the band played and how hard the staff were working. However, this place feels super judgmental the moment you step in. My girlfriend and I were walking around old town and were drawn by the music, so my girlfriend and I decided to step in to see what was going on. It’s definitely a place for older people. I’m 24 and I’m almost certain I was the youngest person there besides the bar back. I was dressed as a normal 24 year old (I’d like to think…I mean I was wearing a hoodie and some khaki polo pants with some sneakers). But everyone kept staring over, at my girlfriend and I and everyone seemed quite pretentious (I mean I guess you have to be a little if you’re coming to smoke a cigar) but we were definitely treated differently than everyone else in there. We were being ignored by the staff and even when we were addressed it was very half-*seed compared to how they treated everyone else. I couldn’t call it if it was the way we were dressed or our age but everyone showed us animosity while we were there. Very culty vibes in there if you’re anything under 30 years old for sure. If it is about the clothes, don’t plan on coming unless you’re dressed like a banana republic ad with some pretentious watch and jewelry. And if it is about the age don’t plan on coming in your twenties. That was my take on this place. Not complaining if your point is to keep a certain type of customer but if that’s the case why keep an open door if you’re not going to be inclusive?

Ngoc Do: The music after 9pm is not bad but prepare to have your eardrums blasted. The bathroom is upstairs past the front stage so you have to walk in front of everyone which is awkward. If you like music, cigars and drinks, then this isn't a bad spot.

Thomas Langerak: Absolutely loved the atmosphere at this place. I was there for a scotch and a cigar on a Sunday night and was quite surprised to see they had a great sounding band playing. I understand this place has been there for over a hundred years and it's evident by looking at the workmanship of the bar itself.

Steven Szabo: This is a gem! Live music, good service, and air circulation systems make enjoying a cigar an exceptional bonus. Food and drinks are available of course. This is the top floor of 219. Main floor is a restuarant and underground is another bar!

Christopher Kelly: This is inside the 219 Restaurant. The lounge is a cigar bar. Limited but nice cigar selection. Cost is on par with other cigar bars that I been at. They also have live music on the weekends.

Kyle Durant: Nice find! Really enjoyed having a cigar and beverage to close out the night. Bar tenders were super friendly and helpful in finding the perfect cigar. Missed out on the live music, but imagine the atmosphere would be great with such.

The Crown & Crow: what do users think?

M planetmike: Decorated a bit like a bar from Harry Potter's world, this bar is both cozy and spacious. Hook and the rest of the staff were awesome. Even for a Tuesday night, it was surprisingly busy. This is a bar. Food can be brought in. There is a small stage with a large screen where events are televised or can be used for karaoke nights. Thankfully, this bar minimizes the use of televisions, which are unneeded distractions. This is conveniently located near Thomas Circle and at the Southern end of the 14th Street scene.
Response: You can always count on us for a good time. Hope to have you back for another round sometime soon! -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Christopher Yuen: I was in town for a business meeting and I took a few friends out to this bar on a whim and we had a blast! The bartenders were friendly and the drinks were unique and delicious! I had so much fun I ended up leaving my blazer at the bar. I called the manager Graham a few days later and he mailed it back to me all the way to Connecticut. He’s awesome and this place is too!!!!!
Response: Thanks Christopher, it's our pleasure to host you and your friends!

Melissa Hough: This might be my perfect bar. So warm and cozy, the staff is incredible, the drinks are good. It's never been packed (at least on a weekday night) which makes me feel better about the VID. I'd been here a few times before but last night went for the first time on my Dry January stint and they were awesome. Bartender made a tasty mocktail AND they have non-alcoholic beer! So glad I found this gem.
Response: We're thrilled to be your perfect bar, Melissa. You can always count on us for tasty drinks, even during Dry January! We hope you'll be back to see us again for round two sometime soon. -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Chablis owens: It's the best bar in the city. The owner is an incredible person and if you get the chance to be served by him your night is going to be a thousand times better than you thought it would be. It is legitimately the best experience at a bar in DC you can possibly find. And it's not even a strip club. That's rare.
Response: Thanks for coming by, you rock and were lucky to have guests like you!

Annie: Cool bar with a chill vibe. Came here on a Monday night at 630 and there were only 2 other groups. Not the typical DC bar. There are a few tables and the bar to sit at. The cucumber mule was really good!
Response: You can always count on us for good vibes and great drinks, Annie. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your cucumber mule. Come back and see us for more cocktails in the future! -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Noah Wahquahboshkuk: Aesthetically pleasing atmosphere and 2 sides to choose for your pleasure. The first side is more of an elbow-to-elbow-packed environment with loud music. The second side is a more relaxed spread out environment to hold more intimate conversations with friends. Being new to the area, ordering a beverage similar to the drink of preference (Weiser) was difficult due to the unfriendly bartenders. Kinda gave me the you-don't-belong-here vibe. The suggested brew was not the best, but the gin and tonic was great! Bathrooms clean as well as the main areas. Would come back and maybe study up on what is offered on tap.
Response: You can always expect good vibes from our place, Noah. We’d never want you to feel like you don’t belong here, and we’re sorry if that was the case. Next time you swing by, we’ll make sure to find you a brew you’ll love. Hope to see you back soon so we can impress you with our friendly service and unique tap selection. -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

David Benjamin: Booked a private event in their larger bar area and cannot say enough good things about Lindsay and the team as well as the space. The drinks were great, we received numerous compliments from our guests on the venue, and Lindsay was a huge help planning the whole thing. By far the best, most professional experience I've had booking an event space/bar in the DMV!
Response: We’re so happy you enjoyed your experience. We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you so much for the kind words.

Corey Nolan: Always have a great time in this nostalgic Bar. Brian "Bar Man" has done an outstanding job building his dream. Staff is super friendly and they have stepped up their cocktail game since I last visited. Glad I was able to ring in 2022 in such good company! Thanks C&C team! Stay safe!
Response: We're glad to hear you always have a great time with us, Corey. Our friendly staff is always here to take care of you and treat you to a cocktail. We hope you'll be back to celebrate with us sometime soon. -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Adriana Cortés-Buelvas: I absolutely love the Crown and Crow. Great cocktails and a huge offer on drinks. Great indie rock music, feels like an Irish experience.Graham is the nicest!
Response: You can always count on us to show you a good time, Adriana! We're happy to hear you enjoyed your cocktails and the music. Hope to have you back again sometime soon! -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Adam Adam: I went there for the first time last night I had the worst bartender in town. First he didn't even greet me or anything he walked up to me and asked me very rudely what do you wanna drink didn't, but I seen him greeting other guest properly so if I had to guess it might have to do with the fact I have an accent. I wasn't very familiar with the beers so asked him what's the lighter beer you have he laughs and said Guinness. I never been treated this way in this city.
Response: Adam, very sorry you had that experience, The Crown and Crow's staff represents cultures from 3 continents. One of our core values is that "everyone is invited to the party." I'm Brian, the owner/manager and I bartend on Fridays, please come by and let me buy you a drink and show you the hospitality that we are known for.

Mr. Henry's Restaurant: what do users think?

Giovana Cianciarulo: My boyfriend and I came to visit the DC area and were recommended to visit Mr. Henry’s. As music lovers, we absolutely LOVED the musicians and Dominique Bianco‘s performance! Our server, Pat, was incredibly sweet and offered a dessert at the end when the food took some time to make (which we didn’t even notice because the jazz show was that good!) I recommend the steak, it was delicious! Mr. Henry’s, we will definitely be back!

Kristen Mehr, Truly Fine Homes: Went back for old times sake after 15 years...used to live around-the-corner from it on Capital Hill. Still same atmosphere but the nachos were not as I remember... too many beans...but their other food was good. Great neighborhood joint!

Nik Kei: Got the seafood platter which sounded good on paper but when it was brought out….. It was underwhelming to say the least. It was missing the fried oysters. It’s old dark and dingy to me and was just not impressed. Waiter was great though. I honestly don’t know why this place gets great reviews. Felt it was misleading.

Arash E: We went here for the jazz night on Wednesday and immediately fell in love with it, most of all for the staff's hospitality and the lively vibe. The food was great and the drinks were formidable. We asked them to pack the rest of the food and they gave us a fresh portion to go! Amazing! Just try to arrive early for the jazz night, otherwise it gets really busy.

Bhavik Sharma: Visited this place for the first time in 2018. Visiting again today. Love this place. The food is awesome and the people are so courteous

t mac: The food was great for my first time. But the waitress we had was not attentive and did not check to make sure we good or offer specials or what try out being though it was our first time.

Karen Abdulrasheed: Crab cake sandwich and spicy crab dip was delicious and was capped off with brownie sundae Service was excellent and food served hot. Waiter was friendly and efficient. Will definitely come back to dine again next trip to DC

Emily Lumley: My husband and I live nearby and this has become our go to spot. We come here every few weeks for Rita Tuesdays, amazing old bay wings, great service and HH deals you can’t beat in this area. Favorite Dish - Old Bay Wings and The Reuben 😅 Atmosphere - chill and family friendly, highly recommend!

Caleb Tacuri: Music was great. I was able to find a parking spot in front even though we got there a bit late, which was convenient. Waiters were polite and helpful. Only problem was our food was given to us with a dead fly on it which was a turn off and we ended up leaving. You might have a better experience if you don’t eat here.

Faith Mitchell: Was disappointed with my visit here as I always hear good things. Drinks were good, but the food was not. One item was clearly not made correctly as the taste was so off i couldn’t eat it. Fries undercooked, The burger and the fish sandwich I had tasted like they had no seasoning at all and the wings were fried way too hard. I couldn’t recommend.

Constitution Hall: what do users think?

SUSAN Woods: Drinks were expensive. ($10.00 or more for beer). Staff was nice. Had to wear a mask for entry. Otherwise, beautiful venue. Parking is tricky on the weekends. Bring change for the meter.

Jason Broughton: Amazing venue and space for performances. Almost no seat is considered bad based upon the design of the facility. Images are of the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song with Linoel Richie being awarded the prize.

Karen Cermak: Amazing architecture & acoustics. Plenty of easy street parking for a small fee. Plenty of nearby restaurants & hotels. Not 2 mention all the great local sights 2 C.

Melanie Jackson: Attended the No Limit Soldier reunion tour. Good seats but the acoustics were not the best. Overall a good show.

SL Brown: This is a nice venue to have a show in. There are several entrances to get in and out from. The seating is bad, the seats are not very comfortable. But you can manage for a 3 hour show. There is only one place to get drinks from, so pick your time wisely when you go. I was there for two comedy shows this year. Had a great time at both. An the most important thing, you must bring a mask to enter the building! So have one ready. You can take it off when you get your seat. It's your choice. But enjoy the venue and the good people!

TS Productions: Once in a lifetime show...seeing Little Feat- 45th anniverisary tour of the Waiting for Columbus Album...Stellar preformance...in a stellar venue...5 stars all around... Can't wait for the next opportunity to come back to this venue!

nikhilkumar joshi: One of the best hall for this type of celebration.from each corner of hall you can very clearly hear voice or music and programm.

Raquel Freire: The venue is great for acoustic concerts but staff is very rude. I attended what they considered a "Latin" concert. I never imagined I would be able to watch Roberto Carlos sing live. In Latin concerts its very common to request the singer to come back for a "bonus " song. Anyway, I didn't expect to pay over $500 dollars in tickets alone plus drinks (very LONG) lines by the way, to have staff yelling at me and rushing me to the exit door as soon the lights were on while I take pictures of a historic venue waiting my husband and kid to leave the bathroom. The staff said they "wanted to go home"... I understand people must be burned out with the pandemic but it was my very first live concert after covid and expected staff to be pleased that they had a job at all. At least Roberto seemed happy to sing to his fans. Probably not the best venue for Latin culture.

Kenzi LA Toy: Had an amazing time with my Sis seeing the infamous #KattWilliams. It's been ah while since we been out so it was fun. My only thing ticket prices were pretty steep for the quality of the seats. For instance, space was tight and you were literally on top of another. In ah #pandemic space is ah PLUS. The venue requested everyone be tested for Covid before attending the show but no one verified this was done. It is ah cool venue.

bigtonythabagman Robinson (Tony the review guy Dmv): Had a great time at the comedy show but the seats were so tight my knee is stolen but overall had a great time

Quadrant Bar & Lounge: what do users think?

Daisy Sun: We visited this establishment to celebrate a graduation. The wait staff was pleasant. The food was fresh and eye-pleasing, however a little light on flavor. The drink menu was decent, and overall it was a fine dining experience. Don't forget to bring your wallet! Pricing definitely consistent with the Ritz-Carlton brand.

Saminda Wijegunawardena: Perfect balance of elegance and casual, always enjoy the ambiance of the bars at the Ritz. The smokey old fashioned is a must try, albeit a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but it's all about the presentation. Great place to grab a drink with the grown-ups while the kids play across the street at Castas.

Konstantin: Visited this place for breakfast while staying at Ritz Carlton hotel. Well, it is expensive but the food is good, atmosphere is very cozy and place itself is amazing. They do have buffet breakfast on Saturday and Sundays. Monday to Friday is a la carte

Carlina Smith: My husband and I stopped in for a couple of drinks during an alumni event. The service was superb and the drinks were stellar. No surprise, they are located in the Ritz. We'll definitely be back.

D J: Entrees are good, ambience is very nice. Appetizer for butternut squash was okay; warm, consistency good but bland flavor. Had an old fashioned for drink: Not well mixed but you do get the $12 worth of alcohol...salmon and chicken entrees we're really good just ask for more sauces

Russ Dean: The ambiance and service at Quadrant was worthy of the Ritz Carlton name. The cocktails were unique and delicious. We were fortunate enough to order the lamb chops as a whim and they were beautifully executed with both a mint and smoky sauce. Some of the best we've had. We stopped here before a dinner reservation and the service was very fast. Didn't intend to order food here, but glad we did and recommend you do too.

DJY30: Very comfortable place. I really enjoyed the relaxed but upscale setting. Live jazz on Saturdays, all the other days they play jazz, I guess from Spotify/radio. Still nice and relaxing. Cocktails are very strong and food is very delicious. I recommend to get a reservation ahead of time; it can be crowded in the bar area (small bar) if you dont come at an early time (aka 8pm/2000). Highly recommend.

Joe Joemer: Always appreciate the atmosphere of the Ritz's bars, which strikes the perfect blend between formal and informal. Although a little too sweet for my tastes, the smokey old fashioned is a must try. However, it's all about the presentation.

Shaun “Shaun386” Jafarzadeh: Had dinner here after a long drive to DC. Food was good service was both friendly and knowledgeable. Bar staff was helpful with recommendations and knew the local bar scene well.

Ahmed Hameed: My gf and I were at this place, the drink cup broke and cut my girlfriend’s hand. They fixed this incident. 5 minutes Later the server brought the check and asked me to pay and leave because they were slow !! It was such a big lie … the place was full of customers and he had a big attitude when he seen lil salad dropped on the floor. I was extremely disappointed and treated racistly based on how I dressed First time and last time at this place.

Bobby McKey's Dueling Piano Bar: what do users think?

Titi: Great experience! Extremely talented musicians and our waitress was so nice. Only negative is having to sit so close to strangers if you are in a small group. Especially in these times. Other than that, we had a great time and definitely recommend!
Response: Thanks so much for this great review Titi!

Blue Girl: It’s always fun coming to this place, I love it. So far I had nothing but wonderful experiences with this place. Great drinks and staff are super friendly. We like coming a little bit late when everyone’s a little buzz, more musicians at the stage and customers singing along. Definitely a place worth checking out when visiting National harbor.
Response: Thanks so much for this great review Blue Girl!

Josef Gasimov: Excellent place to spend Saturday night with talented musicians, good drink menu and OK food. Bring lots of cash so you can order your favorite songs or mention birthday or anniversary etc. On Saturdays place stays up past midnight and opens door at 7pm with piano folks starting around 8pm. $35 admission fee is best money spent. Except food which was ok everything else was perfect. Definitely a place to come back to!
Response: Thanks so much for this great review Josef! We appreciate your business and you taking the time to share about your experience.

Alma Cochran: Definitely would recommend. The staff was amazing, musicians were extremely talented. The only thing that would make this a bad experience is if you had a crowd that wasn’t engaged, but the staff and musicians didn’t let that happen for me
Response: Thanks for this really great review Alma!

Shawn Bartley: You must go!!! These musicians are amazing!!! Rock stars!!! Great atmosphere. Great experience!!!
Response: Thanks so much Shawn, this review is awesome!

Kat B: 10/10 , highly recommend this for brunch with the girls or family . Definitely best for people who have a sense of humor . By the end of the brunch, my partner and I ended up on stage dancing to the piano version of “the thong song” lol We had a blast , felt like a safe place to be silly & for all ages above 21 , (they weren’t kidding about unlimited mimosas ), we never had an empty cup . There was a group of gals celebrating their 60th, another group of bachelorette ladies, and group celebrating a birthday . Although we were all strangers it felt like we were all celebrating together which speaks towards the welcoming ambiance and hosts of the brunch .
Response: Wow Kat, thanks for this really detailed review. You're totally sharing your experience with everyone and we appreciate you taking the time to post. You're the best!

Jennifer Osborne: We had such a great date night at Bobby McKey’s! Wow, the musicians are EXCELLENT, and their energy and enthusiasm is infectious. Hilarious too! Food was pretty tasty, but it’s definitely bar food. I recommend the egg rolls! (However, I don’t recommend the McKEY’S Breeze cocktail unless you like your drinks VERY sweet!) Definitely recommend checking this place out if you want a fun night at the harbor!
Response: Thanks for this great review Jennifer! Glad that you spent such a fun date night with us.

LeCarro & Sharde': Took my wife here for Date Night... I was skeptical about going.. But, hey my wife loves live music.. Gave them a try... Must say we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves... The atmosphere, the sweet Heat wings were the best wings I've ever had... The music was excellent, entertaining, & just a great vibe... Don't think about going.. Just Go.. Goto our tiktopage for our video on this place at LeCarro.and.sharde
Response: Thanks so much for this really great review! So glad that you joined us and had such a good time.

Adriane Bowman: Since nobody is going to say it, the brunch food was nasty. The food was cold and bland. The only thing I enjoyed was my Sprite. Then as much as they charged (along with gratuity up front) the food was served on plastic plates like we were at a cookout. The dueling piano show was nice however, I would not return.
Response: Adriane, thanks for your business and honest feedback. Sorry to hear that we didn't meet your expectations. We clearly have some work to do and will continue to strive for a begtter output. I hope that you enjoyed the show.

Karly Coppinger: This place is extremely overpriced. Tickets alone for a table seat are 25$ then mixed drinks are $15, shots $11, and beers $6-8. Not to mention the cups served with the drinks were very small not tall at all. Then if you want to put in a song request you have to provide a tip to the piano players… let alone they didn’t know half the songs we would put up for request.
Response: Karly, I guess it's all about geography and perspective. How much do you value 4 talented musicians with an incredible repertoire. Our pricing is definitely competitive to the DC metro area. A pedal your own boat cruise in our neighborhood goes for $50. We think $25 is extremely fair.

JV's Restaurant: what do users think?

Natasha Brown: I really enjoyed this place. The food was great. I wanted a low calorie healthy dinner which they had and it was delicious. They served beer and wine only which was ok, I had a chardonnay. I would love to have had a margarita but wine was good enough. Service was great as well but the best part was the live jazz/blues band. Excellent entertainment!

Meg Elizabeth: We were in the area shopping and decided to stop in for a meal due to the ratings on this restaurant. There was music playing which was a nice surprise. The reason for this rating is due to the behavior of the door man. He came to our table three times during the end of our visit asking for $20 for a cover charge. On the first stop to our table, we told him we were just finishing our meal, didn’t have cash and that we were about to head out. At this time, the band was setting up their equipment. The second time he came over, the band started playing and we were waiting on our bill. The service was incredibly slow and it took awhile to get the check however, we did not mind because the waitress was sweet and very busy. On the third visit to our table the doorman just stood there and wouldn’t leave and just stared at us after he made smug expressions demanding $20, watching us sign the receipt. After paying $100+ for a meal and a couple drinks, we were utterly disgusted in his behavior. It is unbecoming to interrupt patrons THREE times demanding money while they are trying to pack up and leave. If people are already in the establishment and a band starts, let them finish eating and leave. I have been to many restaurants with live music and I have never be harassed and treated so poorly over a cover charge. Unfortunately, due to this frustrating experience, we will not be returning. Also, drink prices are not on the menu. We paid $9 for house wine in a plastic glass and $7 for blue moon which seemed steep for a dive bar.

John Velarde: I ate recently by chance, had to come in because it has my initials! I'm glad I did. Came here on a Tuesday or Wednesday night, which happens to be open mic night. Had live entertainment with my meal. They had a number of daily specials. I chose a ribeye steak for about $32. It was fantastic. It was huge and delicious, came with baked potato. I would put this steak against any steak form a fancy steakhouse. It was superb, and for $32 also a great deal. I have been to many fine dining restaurants and expensive steakhouses across the US, and I'm telling you that was one of THE BEST steaks I have ever had, and in that price range it is impressive. The food here is solid. They have music 7 nights a week. My only constructive criticism is the drink prices a re a little high. I had a beer and it was $8 or 9. No beers on tap. This place has been around since 1947. A real landmark. If I was going to recommend only 1 place in Falls Church Virginia, which has many good restaurants to choose from, this would be THE PLACE. My number one recommendation in the entire city.

Victor Espinoza: Brilliant. Magnificent. A work of history and great music. 👍 Don't miss this one if you are in town. Michael is very welcoming and takes ery good care of customer.

Colleen Lanthrip: The food is Like a home cooked meal and well proportioned. The weight staff is kind and friendly. The music is outstanding. There is something happening here every day. Don’t miss out on an adventure add the legendary JV’s.

Robert Sturgis: Can't go in and not hear a great band - whether it be on a Friday or Saturday Night, or any night of the week. Bring your own voice, strings and things and experience your own Rock 'n Roll Fantasy during a Tuesday or Wednesday open mic. Say hello to Loraine and introduce yourself to her staff - they will take care of you. Remember, if you got to make a call - take a ride in the last remaining "Phone Booth" in Northern Virginia...haha. A good time, great food, fine drinks and Triple Chocolate Cake too. It's been 74 years come November. Keep this train rolling.

Devon Hargis: This establishment is a dive bar, but thats what makes this so unique. On first impression you ask what did you get yourself into when you enter, but it grows in you. It has a small dancefloor that will accommodate 15 -20 people, but it's in bad condition and tears up you danceshoe soles.

Dorothy Patton: Family played music there.Son Micheal, Vernon Santmye, sisters Fledia, Sue, June and daughter of Vernon, Bonnie all great singers. And bar waitress wonderful. Great had by all.

Nate B: We enjoyed this place. They had a good band. Staff was friendly. They only serve wine and bottled beer for beverages. I would definitely recommend this place.

Glue Guy: Great live entertainment but don't recommend the food or service. Waited an hour for eggs and French Toast.

Blue 44 Restaurant and Bar: what do users think?

Matthew Brown Homes: Today I stopped by this spot for the first time for lunch after a business meeting and it did not disappoint. Rod was my bartender and was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. The grilled cheese with chicken was amazing and the gumbo was supposed to be taken home for later but my spoon would not stay still. Oh and the DMV Manhattan was really nice. I was also fortunate to have a quick convo with the owner, Chris. Good guy and overall great place. I highly recommend it and don’t forget to check out their restroom. I know that sounds weird, but it looks better than some residential bathrooms! I’ll be back for dinner!

MJ M: It's been a staple in the neighborhood for a reason. Fried chicken Mondays. BLT deviled eggs. Fish tacos. Etc etc. A variety of good options. Even the Caesar salad is really good. Outdoor patio or indoor restaurant, it's a cozy and comfortable environment to enjoy a nice local restaurant

Wil Nusser: Excellent service. Fair prices. We went on a Sunday evening without reservations. It seems they are currently serving a limited menu. The food is an eclectic blend of American and European (northern and southern) and is very well prepared and presented in an upscale casual fashion. Well worth a revisit.

marlene rose: I really love this restaurant. It is a cut above the other restaurants on upper Connecticut Avenue.I have tried many of their delicious dishes and enjoy having a meal here after seeing a movie at the Avalon. To me it is the perfect combination.

Dana Fager: We tried Blue 44 Restaurant and Bar for the first time in December 2020. Our order included the fried chicken with sides (garlicky green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, and a biscuit) and gumbo, which comes with rice topped with scallions. We were very lucky to also receive two scrumptious desserts in our order - a chocolate silk pie (came with chocolate sauce and whipped cream) and a cheesecake (came with a berry compote and whipped cream). Everything was delicious! The fried chicken was well-seasoned and crispy, not oily, the mashed potatoes were super creamy and smooth, the garlicky green beans had just the right amount of garlic on them, and the biscuit was good enough to eat plain! The gumbo had just the right amount of spiciness to it, the pulled chicken in it was very tender, and the gumbo tasted great with the rice. The desserts were so good, too - light and decadent without being too sweet. Additionally, the individuals affiliated with this restaurant are great people! The owner is really kind, the chefs are so talented, and all the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. This is a great place, and we highly recommend it!

Brian Wade: Stopped here on our way in and out of DC, luckily we got to try the fried chicken, which was awesome, as was cheesesteak and the calamari app. Great service, good prices for the area and my daughter loved it

Brittany Goss: This place continues to bring amazingly delicious, quality, fresh and downright foodporn-worthy menu items. They never disappoint. The fried chicken dinner they serve exclusively on Monday’s is to die for. You’re welcome 😉

Melissa Quartell: Can't beat Fried Chicken Monday. Three courses were enough to feed me tomorrow, as well, but you better believe I ate the whole dessert. Mocha semifreddo. Divine.

Ayana Harper: The service is always flawless, lovely staff and the food is great! The steak was perfectly cooked and their cheesecake is to die for!

Hugo Toledo: Outstanding! Great food, great service, wonderful ambience, both indoors and outdoors. It’s one of those places where you’re happy to see you’re not the only ones that are having a great time but everyone around you is also appreciating the excellent service and flavorful offerings. I look forward to going back on my next trip to DC.
