Gearin' Up Bicycles: what do users think?

M B (M B): Had a great experience here! I went to one of their Saturday bike sales and was able to find a nice bike with the help of the staff! They also have a shop that you can go to for bike maintenance and to learn skills from the staff. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good bike in DC.

Brandon Sousa: Really happy with my experience here. I had a flat and they addressed it immediately, I was back on the road in 5 minutes. Reasonable prices, I think I paid $40 total for the tube, the tube change, and a new tougher tire, hopefully keeping the bits and bobs out of my ride.

Grant Sexton: Had several things fixed on my old Schwinn Traveler. The price for repair was great, and the customer service was as well. They gave me a very down to earth explanation of some of the problems on my bike too, which I appreciated because I often have trouble tracking with “bike guys.”

Aurora Williams: Love that this in an option in our community. Very affordable, professional, and quick service. Was in and out with a fixed bike within 30 minutes. Very happy to make the trek and support this organization.

Bryce McKibben: Awesome place to stop in for a quick repair. Got a flat and came in around 4pm, and it was done in 30 minutes. Amazing prices, too. Will be coming back here again!

Nastacia Moore: The guys are so friendly and knowledgeable. I brought my bike in same day and they fixed it on the spot. I highly recommend this place.

Ya'ara Robinzon: Great experience. Didn't find my bike but received wonderful service. Bought my kid a bike and got the helmet for free.

Diana Nguyen: Just after moving to DC, this is where I bought my trusty bike. I was received with great energy and just overall amazing service. They helped me out on fitting me with a bike, describing the details/repairs of said bike (ie Shimano STI shifters, hieght adjustment, etc.), etc.. By far the nicest bike I ever did buy. You know I really love it here because I ended up naming my bike, Keith.

Cale Magruder: these guys are awesome. hooked my friend up with a new bike cheap, and tightened up a loosening crank on my bike for free. great people :-)

Zbigniew Kostrzewski: Fantastic shop and mission! Quick affordable and pleasant service! Highly recommended, well worth some travel easy street parking! All in on this shop and its mission.

Upshift Workshop: what do users think?

Navarro Quintero: Leah did maintenance to my bike and fixed the shifts of my wife's bike. My bike is working much better! Great service, well priced when compared to what is charged in bike stores, and with the convenience that she comes to your house. Totally recommend her.

Rohan Bhargava: Leah is great! She's passionate about urban cycling and makes learning about bike maintenance + getting your bike fixed up extremely easy and convenient. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

Keegan Bursaw: Fantastic! Between work, toddler, and crazy times, finding a suitable slot to get one of our bikes tuned up felt next to impossible. Especially because it gets used and being without it is no fun. Solution? Leah! She showed up with her cargo bike, tools, and everything she needed. (For COVID times, it felt 100% safe too). Tuned up my brakes and dialed in the lever pull, adjusted shifter cable, trued wheels, and caught/corrected problems on my rear hub that I didn't even know were there. The bike rides better than it has in years. She even showed me some small adjustments I can make on my own if issues arise with brake pads, etc. It was nice to interact with a mechanic who treated me as an equal and paid attention to the smallest of details. I highly recommend Upshift Workshop to anyone looking for bike work - you won't be disappointed. Very pleased and will be booking another appointment soon for one of our other bikes.

Eric's Mobile Workshop Bike Repair: what do users think?

JuDonn DeShields: I ordered two bikes and was looking for someone local who could assemble them for me. I had a bad experience with a well-known bike store recently-- and wanted to go in a different direction. Enter Eric. Communication was on point from the start. Once he arrived, Eric got right to work and worked quickly! He completed my 2 bikes in less than 2 hours. Once complete, he walked me through all of the things he did, the parts that the company failed to include, and ways that he could help to make it right. All told, I'm really happy that I went with Eric. He's down to earth, serious and knowledgable about bikes, and looks out for his clients. Highly recommend him and his services! Happy customer.
Response: JuDonn, thanks so much for the review. Enjoy the bikes and keep in touch for further repairs!

Angela Gladue: Eric is kind and courteous and very professional. He assembled my bike in a short amount of time and provided all the tools to get the job done. I am extremely happy with the outcome and would recommend Eric's services if you're in need of a great bike assembly or repair. Thanks for your help Eric!
Response: Angela, such a pleasure meeting you. Thanks for your music recommendations! ☺️

Megan Wiegand: Eric did a fabulous job tuning up my bike after two-plus years of pandemic neglect. I haven't had the best experiences with some of the other bike shops in town, so Eric's clear communication, friendly demeanor, and straightforward explanations for what needed fixing were a very welcome change of pace. I'm now a loyal customer. Highly recommend Eric!
Response: Megan, thank you for this kind review. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you start having any issues at all.

Dallas Kiefer: After many issues of dealing with bike shops doing the bare minimum on my Kona Hybrid, I decided to reach out to Eric for a tune up, new chain, and new pedals. Eric offered extreme flexibility to bring my bike to him for repairs. I was very patient since previous reviews stated that his work is very thorough, and they were nothing but right! Eric maintained great communication along the way through text. He did an excellent job at the tune up, and chain and pedal replacements and provided me with insightful feedback of how to maintain the longevity of the bike. Best part, I paid less than what I would at some of these bike shops I have taken my bike to. Eric does honest work and is such a nice and humble person. Highly recommend using him for any of your bike's needs.
Response: Dallas, thank you for the kind review. Please reach out again in the future for further assistance!

Aimee Norwood: Eric traveled out to Loudoun County to tune-up all of our family bikes. He was super professional and clearly exceptionally knowledgeable about bikes. He knew quite a bit about each of our four different bikes. He was interesting to talk to and I appreciated the care he took with each of our bikes. I will be highly recommending him to all my friends needing bike repair and tune-up.
Response: Aimee, thanks so much for the review! Such a pleasure meeting you and your family. Keep in touch!

Saaj Visaria: Eric did a great job on my bike and also provided recommendations for future upkeep that I hadn’t considered. This convenience is so fairly priced, I’ll be sure to contact Eric for any other issues I have with my bike!
Response: Saaj, pleasure meeting you today. Glad I could take care of these issues for you. Please reach out again in the future if you have any other repair needs.

Boluwatito Oladeinde: **edited Eric deserves all the 5 stars possible. He reached out to me after seeing my earlier review and we were able to set up a quick appointment for a convenient time for both of us. He was really kind and understanding. He got my bike assembled and used some of his personal items. His price was also really fair. I had a great experience 10/10 would recommend —- I haven’t been able to utilize Eric’s service yet but from the general review, I can conclude his services must be good. I will suggest that he kindly updates the address listed on google maps because the address routes me to a residential apartment and I have come there twice now just as a waste of time. I would also suggest if he could hire someone (or other people) to manage his communications because it sucks to have to wait multiple days to receive a reply back to your text and also be never able to get in touch with him via calling within his working hours. I really want to be a regular customer at Eric’s but it’s very frustrating to be unable to get in contact with him via call or text. I will update my review (to the 5 star i believe he deserves) once he gets back to me and helps me with my bike! :)
Response: Bolu, thanks for the review! Glad I could help out.

Romeo Arahan: Eric was easy to communicate with. He regularly updated his whereabouts and arrived at the expected time of appointment. He did not mind that I was watching while doing the tune-up. In fact, he was amenable to that and started explaining how each part could affect the speed and longevity of my bike. I was very satisfied with the overall service and I will definitely book him again if I encounter issues with my bike!
Response: Romeo, thanks for the kind review! Glad I could help.

roger depaz: Eric was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional when fixing my e-bike! I would call him again in a heart beat! I would also recommend him to anyone looking to get their bike fixed! Thanks, Eric!
Response: Roger, thanks so much! Good working with you.

Carol Bruna: Eric it was such a pleasure to have you work on my E-bike! I thought it was done for and then enter Eric! He was able to fixed it and literally save my life! I highly recommend him to fix anyone’s bike. Thank you very much!
Response: Carol, thank you so much! Pleasure working with me.

BicycleSPACE- Ivy City: what do users think?

Alex Martin: Leave it up to the wonderful people of Washington DC to complain about “rude” behavior. Maybe like one dude in the back was a douche but at least he was an honest douche. If you appreciate radical honesty then this place is worth a visit. Also Justin new kid training had great insight to give when it came to my curiosity about fixed bikes. Last but not least the owner made absolute sure my bike fit my body size, far more than the competition ever did. Will send people to this location for sure.

Louise Pocock: I’ll preface by saying I’m not a bike head but went to this shop in my neighborhood after moving to DC because I wanted to make biking my primary mode of transport. These guys spent hours listening to what kind of bike I wanted and how I planned to used it and explained all my options and answered all my questions patiently and thoroughly. I not only bought a bike but learned a lot about bikes and how to take care of them. They got me set up with all the practical locks/lights/fenders etc for a very reasonable price. When I wrecked they fixed it right away and for free (no replacement part needed, just my fenders reattached). I have been back several times for other little things and they always help me right away and keep me riding. I love my bike shop!
Response: Thanks, Loise! We love taking care of folks & their bikes and glad we helped you integrate cycling into your daily life! Hope the next time we see you it'll be for a ride & not a repair!

Mike Carr: Many bike shops are plagued with pretentious staff. This is NOT the case at Bicycle Space. The employees are all super friendly and helpful. As an added bonus their location in Ivy City is easy to get to from most parts of DC and there is almost always easy parking right out front. This shop also sponsors many fun bicycle events in the area, such as the Saturday Cupcake Ramble lead by Lionel!

Patrick Macy: Unmatched Integrity. I have been searching high and low for a touring bike. I have been to many bike shops in Maryland and DC which pushed me to buy gravel bikes that didn't fit either me or my budget. Rob pointed me to the Surly Disk Trucker. But, they only had 2. One was a tad too small, the other was a tad too big. He said I wouldn't be happy with either and recommended I keep looking. Knowing the exact right size to look for I called all over the DMV and fond one. I bought it from that other store. But THIS is my new bike store. They have a customer for life because of the bike they did not sell me. Integrity matters. Thank you.

Jessica Long: I was in the market for a new bike for commuting and racing as I start to get into triathlon training. The staff there was very engaging, kind, and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend it!

Julia Lo: As others have mentioned, slow service and poor communication. I came in for a quick/on-the-spot repair but halfway through the repair the bolt on my front derailleur broke off. I was told that the mechanic would take a look at it the following week to see if he could get the bolt off, or if we had to order a replacement. I checked in periodically and was often told that they would get to my bike and provide an update "later today" and "tomorrow". Long story short, my bike was at the shop a little over 3 weeks. I would have appreciated an honest and realistic time estimate from the beginning. My brakes, which were replaced during the visit, were also squeaky when It came back to me. I would return to the shop only to have the squeaking return after after a day or so. The mechanic often talked trash about REI, but in my opinion they have not proven to be any better.

Nick Webster: BicyleSPACE is a wonderful, friendly, downtown bike shop. I stopped in to look around and a knowledgeable staff member took the time to show me around in a no pressure manner. When I am in the market for a new set of wheels, I will be in.

Lee Jahnke: BikeSpace DC used to be my go-to Bike Shop. These guys worked with you and offered options to fix things. Their repair times were honest. But in the last few months, these guys have cut corners as they deal with being overwhelmed from the pandemic. I've gone by the shop for parts or quick fixes and been told flat out "No". As in "No, we can't repair anything right now". and "No, we don't think you should install that part." This attitude isn't so much "Hey, we know better." but "We just don't have the time for you. Essential repairs only" So, save your time and money from trudging out to their remote location and go to a bike shop closer in.
Response: Hi Lee- Sorry we weren't able to help you with the part you were looking for yesterday, but as discussed, we'd have to see the bike (in this case wheel) you were attempting to get the part for in order to match the compatibility as there are multiple configurations that can't be freely swapped out. Also, as discussed, we rarely stock & frequently remove the part you were inquiring about from customer's bikes as it can lead to more problems than it solves if the bike is properly adjusted. You were also referred to another potential source for the item- hope you were able to find it or feel free to come by w/the bike/wheel & we can see whether we have exactly what you need or are able to order it for you, which can also be a challenge (along w/many other things) in these covid times. Thanks & Be Well!

Marc Pulliam: Not sure how they have 4 stars. These guys are very unprofessional. No type of customer service I call and ask if they sold bike pedals the response was were a. Bike shop how rude. Ordered a bike and had it shipped to be assembled which should had only taken a minimum of two days. My bike has been there over a week and all they can tell me is that they are backed up because there mechanic was tboned. They said they would follow up but I have not received any follow ups. At this point it will be faster to cancel my purchase and have a bike shipped to a different shop. No focus on customer service here don’t say you wasn’t warned

healthy healing: They took us right away we came in with two bikes. The rechained my daughter's bike. Checked my inner tube. Gave us an estimate if we need an innertube in the future. Sent us on our way. Welcoming, reasonable, angriest service. Highly recommend these guys!

Nomad BicycleWorks Mobile Bike Repair: what do users think?

Meredith Jensen: Incredible service and quick response time! Omar is so friendly and flexible, accommodating to my schedule changes last second. My bike looks and feels brand new and the tune up barely lasted an hour! As a new bike owner, I had a lot of basic questions but Omar patiently answered them all without making me feel uneducated. Highly highly recommend!!

Robert “Bo” Stearman: Wow! What a service! Omar: knowledgeable, trustworthy, and professional. New client here and could not be more impressed. You know how you feel when a service is done right? I feel that way now! Assessed issues with my bike quickly and efficiently. Communication top notch. All in all great experience. Apologies bike shops you just lost a client. Work with Omar it is great.

Nikki Kasparek: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueWorking with Omar was great. He was very responsive to my email and scheduled an appointment to repair my bike very quickly. He was on time for our appointment and charged very reasonable prices for his work. I plan to use Omar for all of my bike repair needs!

Leila Lucas: Omar was awesome. Great communication leading up to the appt. During the appointment, he was efficient and made sure I understood exactly what he did to get my bike up and running. I really appreciated his patience with all of my questions and am very excited to have a working bike again!

Asha Singh: Omar was awesome. He cleared up what the service was before the appointment, confirmed the time and details both by text and as he was getting started, and set up right outside my door. Service was very quick and he made sure I tested everything before he left. So glad I booked him. Bike rides like a dream!

Andrew Byrd: Highly recommend Nomad Bicycle repair! I purchased a new e-bike that came dissembled, Omar set up outside my home and took care to assemble my bike and review everything that I would need to know as a new rider. He also gave me tips and tricks to successfully maintain the bike as well. Overall, Omar is really kind, responsive, knowledgeable and provides a great service for a competitive price.

Victor Kane: Omar is awesome. I have custom built Frankenbike ebike that is difficult to work on and he went above and beyond to clean and check everything and make sure my new brakes were installed correctly. He even found and replaced two broke spokes I wasn't aware of and waited while I ran to the store to get parts we needed. Very nice person who does great work for a fair price. I will be calling him again for sure!

Marianna De Souza: Excellent job! Omar was super helpful and flexible in terms of communication and scheduling. My bike was set up so quickly and smoothly. Highly recommend him.

Kelly Orzechowski: Wonderful experience! Super convenient. Omar was extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and very quick to respond. My bike looks fantastic! I highly, highly recommend him.

Ryan Hamilton: Absolutely excellent! My hybrid bike gearing got wrecked in a windstorm, so I needed a new rear derailleur, shifter, chain installation and all-around tune-up. After taking the bike to another mechanic in town who did a shoddy repair, I reached out to Omar, based on a recommendation from a good friend and mountain biking enthusiast. I ordered a few replacement parts on Amazon and scheduled service through the Nomad Bicycle Works website. Omar was super reliable, professional, friendly, trustworthy, and supportive and had a great passion for bikes. And very convenient. He came early to the job and got the entire job done while I drank my morning coffee. I was back up and rolling in about an hour, all before my morning meetings at work. When the job was done, Omar suggested I take a test ride and to push every gear of the bike pretty hard, just to test things out. The thing rode perfectly, even better than when the bike was originally built, and the gearing was flawlessly dialed-in. He also gave good recommendations for other upgrades and services I might consider in the future. I was so satisfied with the service, I gave him a tip. I look forward to getting ALL of my bikes serviced by this guy.

Bicycle Pro Shop: what do users think?

Mike Jones: Long time quality shop in DC, been going there since 1996 when I was a bike messenger and racer. Stopped in today to get some new cleats, and grabbed some energy gels, new gloves, and got a great deal on some aero water bottles from the manager Garrett. Got everything I needed for upcoming race quickly and with friendly helpful service. Thanks a lot!!

Humberto Murati: Last Saturday stopped by the shop to get the front tyre fixed. After a couple of miles the front tubeless Schwalbe had a pinched. Job was done perfectly. I was able to ride back to Old Town Alexandria, confident that the tyre will not be an issue. Thanks guys for the awesome friendly customer service and the great job fixing the tyre. Humberto Murati Owner Murati Titanium Bicycles LLC #muratibicycles
Response: I am so happy we could help you out! Let us know if you ever need anything in the future, and keep up the good work on those frames! Keep an eye on this guy folks.

Michael Kelly: Bought from Giants website, shipped to the store and they were the most professional and courteous staff. Bike was built and ready to ride the next day. I would highly recommend getting a bike here, staff was knowledgeable and were extremely professional.

Nikolay Sandev: Super knowledgeable and highly skilled mechanics. Provided me with great advice and answered al my questions. Put together my dream bike perfectly. Highly recommended shop if you're a cyclist in DC!
Response: Thanks for showing us some love Nikolay! Ride safe!

OSCAR CLONINGER: Technician Will White rocks! Friendly and didn’t lord over me with his knowledge. Don’ know about the other team members but I would go back and pay for Will’s help anyway! FYI: in and out in a jiff when I dropped my bike of: the shop wasn’t super busy when I dropped my bike off!

Alan Raeder: I stopped in the shop this past summer needing a specific chain tensioner for my single speed and Dave went above a beyond to get me set up with one. I was taking a rest day in the middle of a bike tour and working on fixing a few things on my bike. I visited/called more than 8 shops with no luck. I met Dave at Bicycle Pro Shop and after learning the shop did not have the part, he mentioned he had a used one at home. Later that evening, Dave met up with me and I got the part I needed to keep going the next day as planned. Really helpful and appreciated!

Andrew Moore: Absolutely great service from Garrett here. I’d been having an ongoing issue that another shop wasn’t able to identify or fix. It took Garrett minutes to figure it out and the bike is 100% again. Highly recommend.
Response: Andrew - Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I look forward to your next visit at the shop. Enjoy the holidays!

Ferris Bueller: Went in as Im traveling and was looking for something in a bind. It wasnt the fact that they were unable to help me, but it was a whole vibe.... in a bad way. Can't see myself ever going back in there. And I love bike shops!

fgjewett: Best shop in the DC area, I bought a road bike and had such a good experience that I bought a mountain bike there too. The staff are easygoing and knowledgeable; they are a great shop for the mid-to-High end merchandise. They’re not snobby or elitist like other high end places can be. Every purchase comes with a free fitting, which is a $100 value. They also provided free adjustments for a year which was great.
Response: Thank you for the review! I hope you're enjoying the bike!

Jimmy Russell: We love the customer service very informative upfront and honest. Very impressed with the bike feels good rides smooth and good. Very light for a Hybrid Bicycle.
Response: Thank you for the kind words Jimmy! Please don't be a stranger if there's anything we can help you out with. Ride safe! Garrett

Bike Club: what do users think?

dholmblad: Cannot recommend Bike Club enough. Had the derailleur hanger bend on a very sentimental 1990s carbon specialized. The owner was able to work his magic, replaced the derailleur and fixed the hanger. Before I walked out he made sure the shifting was smooth and dialed in. Thanks!

Chuck Baier: Bike Club is a one of a kind bike shop! It is a one man shop and you need to approach Phuoc, the owner, at the right time and in the right way to get positive results. If you rush in, start rapidly firing off questions, and making demands, Phuoc is likely to dismiss you and recommend you look elsewhere for needs, often rudely. However, if you stop in, sit down, and make some friendly small talk, then he will dig what you need out of his cavernous shop, fix you up, impart some insightful wisdom to you about human nature, elicit a few belly laughs, and get you back on your way. You will then have a friend who will remember you even when you come back 3 years later, as he did with me. If you’re bringing your bike in for service, the question is not whether Phuoc can fix it but if he wants to fix it. Therefore, don’t start off by telling him your opinion of the problem or how to fix it. God forbid, don’t start by arguing over 5 bucks based on your latest Google or Amazon search. Instead, just set back, ask for a beer while you wait, and let this Master perform his craft. And if you genuinely love bikes, don’t miss the opportunity to take the tour inside. Carefully navigate the pathways through the shop for a trip through the last 50 years of bicycle history. I’ve been in dozens of time and find something new to intrigue me each time. Bike Club is an absolutely unique Falls Church institution and Phuoc is indeed an endangered species. A trip to Bike Club is MUCH more genuine than the overpriced pro shops staffed with hipsters with a different sort of attitude. Good luck!! Pedal Power!!!

Alec Lee: Horrible owner with rude attitude, don’t even think going in there. You will be traumatized after visiting this place and experiencing customer service for a long time. The owner is simply crazy, start yelling and cursing after simple questions. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone!

Patrick N.: This is an old school bike shop, keep in mind, there is really no “customer service” you get to the shop, state what you want and proceed to either get your bike serviced or purchased. Pham goes out of his way to repair and sell these bikes, as strange as it sounds; he is NOT a salesman and doesn’t value taking too much time for window shoppers because he is a 1 man team mostly. So before you judge this shop like it’s a modernize shop with different department staffing and things like that; keep in consideration he’s doing well every thing he can effectively to run his own store, and he’s been in the business longer than you’ve prob been alive so he can tell a window shopper or someone who’s going to waste time off the bat.

Joseph (Joey): This is a very particular bicycle experience. This isn't your typical bike shop. The owner, Fuke, is an unusual, eccentric bike genius. His behavior won't appeal to everyone, however as an amateur vintage bike mechanic myself, Fuke is one on my heroes. He is an expert on all things bicycle. If you are looking for a specific, latest, greatest, bicycle, or for someone to size you to a bike, look elsewhere. Come to the bike club with some prior bike knowledge or at least a unique project request. If you are looking for a rare headset, vintage set of schwinn handlebars for a 50 year old bike, an expert calibration of ancient shimano derailleurs, or the fastest wheel-true you've ever seen, Fuke and Bike Club Bicycle are just the place for you. Also, teens, want to learn the ins and outs of bicycle repair? Fuke is willing to take hard working, serious apprentices for summer instruction. Don't expect monetary compensation, instead, expect to be paid in the currency of practical knowledge and experience. After a summer or two under Fuke's tutelage, you'll be able to fix any bike problem, build any bike, be hired as a mechanic at any reputable bike shop, or even start your own freelance bike repair business. Fuke and the Bike Club are whats left of an old idea; that as a community we help each other achieve the American Dream. We need less corporate nonsense and more places like Bike Club Bicycle and more people like Fuke. Go check the place out. If you are passionate about bikes, you'll be enthralled.

Howard Stultz: I’m not sure how this guy stays in business. The first time I went there for a product he said he didn’t have any when I thought I saw what I needed on a shelf that would have been hard to reach. (One look inside the door and you clearly get the idea he’s a hoarder.). The second time I went there (on a Sunday) he was sitting outside talking to a potential customer. I waited until they were done because it was clear from looking at the doorway navigating the chaos would have been difficult. When it was my turn I told him I wanted to buy a bike. His reply was truly unusual (and rude). He said he didn’t have any bikes for sale and that they were closed... Huh? I get there’s a run on bikes these days, but you can look in the shop window and see he had some bike inventory. Needless to say, I’ll never go back and will spread the word about my experiences.

Ryan Healy: The guy who runs this place is awesome. Super compassionate and understanding of your circumstance and what your bike needs. This man has fixed my bike on the cheap multiple times. I mean I take my bike in there with all sorts of BS happening to it and he is back there for 10 minutes and rolls it out and it's like I just bought it. Alignment perfect. Brakes perfect. This man gave me handle bar grips for free off his parts cart. Cant say enough good things about this place. Best bicycle shop IN THE ENTIRE DC REGION

David Lotts: I like this little shop because of the variety of interesting stuff, some vintage bikes, kids bikes, and new bikes. The owner is very friendly and works hard. I've bought my last two bikes here. Both times I did not like exactly what I saw and they quickly customized it for me. Since I found this store I think of my bike as temporary. When I get tired of my bike, and it needs repairs and tune-up, I just go by and trade in for something else. I can do this because the prices are quite good compared to an full tune-up.

Ryan Springer: I've had nothing but excellent service! In the past 3 weeks I've had two bikes fixed, 2 bikes assembled, and sold a bike to the shop. All while sharing many a laugh with the owner and his team. Solid crew and now my go to team for all things bike related.

OneChance OneMistake: Store is very messy and cluttered with random things. Came to see a used bike that caught my eye before. It was in decent condition but dirty and the man wanted $250 for a bike that sells for $220 new. Told me he priced it high just because be assembled it, and is taking advantage of bikes being sold out everywhere during covid. Would not go here if youre looking for a bike. And the man smokes so much so bring a gas mask.
Response: Pretty sure he added disc brakes on it, thats been his thing lately. He has a knack for making bikes ride better. But yes th BC is not your average department store styled bike shop, some people likebthat. Ibprefwr an organis experiece, which is what you get at BC. its more like a museum. I enjoy the speediness, a couple hours at most unless you get there after 4, as opposed to the standar 2 week wait.

The Daily Rider: what do users think?

Sharmarke: Had a fantastic experience getting my bike fixed at The Daily Rider! Great folks who genuinely want to help get you back on the road as quickly as possible. The wonderful no-nonsense service (no pushy sales or unnecessary add-ons) and flawless follow up means that I've found my go-to local bike shop. Thanks :)
Response: Thanks so much for this! We really appreciate your feedback. Enjoy your ride!

V. A.: Will at the Daily Rider fixed a severe flat on my electronic bike (ebike). An eight inch construction nail went through my back tire and tube in two places. Will was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. He offered great recommendations, which made the process easy and straightforward for an affordable price. I decided to upgrade my ebike's tires and tubes to better quality products than the original items. The shop's location is very convenient with plenty of street and garage parking. I was able to drop off and pick-up my ebike with no problems. My experience with The Daily Rider was great because of the quick turn-around and excellent customer service. I would recommend The Daily Rider to anyone who wants a professional and well-done repair.

Frederick Plummer: I've been going to The Daily Rider years and the staff is always helpful. They always complete my bike repairs in timely manner and will point out any other problems that I may have not noticed. I feel really comfortable going to them to have my bike repaired.

Saints Finders: Awesome service. Got my bike working like new within the same day. Also completed safety checks and offered recommendations. Fair pricing.

Simulation (MorningStar): Finally a reason to review this location. I’ve tried this location I few years back when I first started riding track bikes. Immediately upon walking through the door, I was met with where’s your helmet? No hi, no can I help you… Followed with ohh and “ no brakes” I continued to shop. Every time I asked any questions pertaining to my new effectuation with bikes all together. Grunts and one word answers. Today is the last straw and it’s crazy because out of all the DMV bike shops. This one has never even been on my radar. With so many completely better shops only 5mins bike ride away. So only reason I called was to see if they were busy, because I had a small repair that just required a tightening of a lock ring, I was standing in REI(waiting). So I called, And upon picking up the phone I had explained this to them with detail. There was a slight pause… and the guy says, hey where are you calling from. Me- Wow! Did you hear anything I just said. Why are you concerned about anything other than my question. He says your caller ID, it’s Say you’re calling from The Simulation Short story… can you do this repair… Yes im calling from the simulation He returned with No sorry we can’t do it. 3 strikes and you’re out Daily Rider . Crazy I had received a gift card from a race. Never got to even use free money at your store. 🤡

Sam Goldgeier: This is a great bike shop to purchase a new bike or have your bike repaired. They are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to deal with!

Gregory Higgins: Great bike shop. They have done tune-ups and repairs repairs to my bike multiple times. They also fix baby stroller wheels/tires!

Mark Sussman: .The Daily Rider has always given me A+ service ever since I became a customer 7 years ago (when I bought my Spot Ajax). Most recently, I needed a double kickstand for my bike in preparation for carrying my daughter on my bike. Not only did The Daily Rider give me an excellent recommendation based on my needs, they installed the part based on my scheduled appointment time and at the exact quoted price. I cannot recommend the Daily Rider enough!

Karen Ramsey: I picked a bad replacement seat. They heard about it, researched saddles that would be a better fit for me, let me try them out, handled a return, and installed the new new saddle. Always prompt, polite & helpful and staff never make a casual but daily rider feel like they don’t know enough about bikes as other shops have. That’s why I go back & encourage others to shop there, too.

Robb Dooling: I'm a Deaf frequent customer since 2016 and this shop is amazingly patient/flexible in communicating with my friends and me, including through frequent texting and typing. The employees are beyond honest and helpful about what they can do and can't do - even if they can't do something I'm looking for, they know how to find it. This business is also involved in advocacy for walkability and bike-ability in the neighborhood, something I appreciate deeply. They put their heart into their work. Out of the five years I've been going here, they only made a (very small) mistake once with my partner's bike; they immediately fixed it for free AND threw in a free improvement. I'm proud of making this my neighborhood go-to bike shop!
Response: A neighborhood shop couldn't ask for a better review. Really appreciate this Robb.

Washington Area Bicyclist Association: what do users think?

Nozipho Dube: Had a great 3 hour lesson with Chuck, Kristi, Allison, and Mike. The class size approx. 15 people at different level of skill. The instructors did a good job of splitting us up based on skill set and moving us up based on our progress. It was a great class.

Karen Brown: I had a horrible experience with WABA. It is not worth $85.00 to learn how to ride a bike. The instructors were very hands off and my husband had to assist my daughter in learning how to ride. Then the instructor tells us my daughter should come back and pay another $85.00. I was underwhelmed with what I saw. Additionally, I received a harassing email that was very inappropriate from Syndney Sotelo, WABA Director about my husband assisting my daughter when she was struggling in learning how to ride. Stay woke everyone $85.00 to be hands off is never acceptable. It’s a rip off.

Bayley Vanderpoel: Great organization doing God’s work. More bike lanes now!

Michelle Minstrell: Great resources for area cyclists, advocates for biking safety, bike lanes

Aries Keck: Love them

Tulio Bertorini: Great organization.

danceswithcars w: Closest to peer, but millennials bias, and go drinking with tip jar like kick back, imnsho. Have volunteered with them over the 8+? years since was at Qualia Coffee and PetWorth Farmers Market nearby, pre incorporation and 501c3.... Seasonal and will close for the season like some farmers markets. GearinUp similar in DC, but brick and mortar, paid staff, works with kids (requires background), space for parts, refurbished bikes for sale to pay rent etc... Phoenix in Arlington Mill Community Center and VeloCity in DelRay are Virginia similar brick and mortar nonprofits with way more overhead ... Mount Rainier Bike Coop just over the line on bunker Hill similar Maryland, Hub in RockVille not yet tried. Varied experiences with TBH depending upon who is hosting moods of for profit owner, what other volunteers are doing, etc. Group purchase JBI.Bike sometimes short notice, but jerseys, bib shorts, hat, interesting and relatively cheap but not exactly summer weight materials. Hours a little odd as seasonal and outdoors, so weather and volunteer dependent. Generally stops taking new by 2.30p to close by 3p, but more flexible than BFM which road parking taken back by neighbors. Occasional closed if host hardware store has loading dock like needs. By trash dumpsters and chemical worries of pesticides from. Plants, pallets, etc. Generally wear nitrile (unlike latex may not disintegrate with oil/grease) gloves especially if female as even parts packaging say may cause reproductive, cancer, etc (in Cali only?) and toxicity more part of learning to work on your own (+ distributes load among 'sponges'). MSDS not supplied. Parts compatibility database needed, Mt r bc has subscription, iirc. Bathroom use is now to the public library at end of block across the street, but watch your stuff ... signing waiver hold harmless etc implemented more than photo policy... Ymmv hth lol cats, etc

Trek Bicycle Washington D.C. Georgetown: what do users think?

Sam Brecker: I came in for a lifetime warranty claim and it was handled flawlessly. They were super responsive by phone and email. Dropped it, they took a quick look, and corporate responded within a day. Only took about 3 weeks to get the replacement back and team handled all my accoutrement properly and answered all my questions. Trek remains to be a good brand for me!

Landis Rojas: Excellent place to buy bike, maintenance, helmets and more accessories. So many options to choose from, from children's to adults, if they don't have any choice, they can find for you a close location. I bought mi bike here. Good prices, nice place, I really recommended.
Response: Love to read this Landis! Thanks so much for taking your time to let us know about your bike buying experience in our shop! Enjoy the ride!

mark Minich: had a great experience dealing with Adam Fulcher at Trek Georgetown store. Adam was friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient with my time. I was able to purchase two bikes and arrange to have them shipped to me all in the course of one phone call. I highly recommend Adam and the Trek GT store for meeting your cycling needs.

Chris Higginbotham: Highly recommend. I've bought two bikes here and have gotten a lot of my service done here as well. The staff are always great on both the sales and service side, and there's usually a great selection of bikes and accessories.

Michael D. Wells: Customer Service is 5 stars all day any day. My experience whenever I visit Trek in Georgetown is always a great time. The staff is knowledgeable and always eager to help. My Frame was damaged on my EX and the store went out of their way to get me back in the saddle! Attention to details, the staff even replaced the Panther sticker on the front post. I didn't notice until I took a break on the trail. That's first class service. Trek life! Send it! Trek Georgetown rocks!

Hector Moreno: Great selection of bikes. Knowledgeable and respectful staff. Shout out to Jerrick for his help.

Perry Spring: Needed a long overdue tune up on my marlin 6 and Will was incredibly helpful and quick in servicing my request. The bike is riding as if it is brand new and I could be more appreciative of the time and effort that went into it. Thank you guys!

Michelle Olenoski: I love this Trek store. I bought a bike here in 2003 when I first moved to DC and the bike is still amazing and in great condition. I am thinking of upgrading soon and plan to come back to this same store.

Carl Mitchell: The best bike shop in the city hands down! Every bike here is literally a work of art, and if there is an issue of any kind, they make it right. My household alone is on our 3rd road bike from this store and they fix our non Trek bikes as well. Now if I can only convince my lady the whole family needs mountain bikes😅

Michael Belarmino: Great experience - they performed my tune-up in the time as promised, and very thorough in describing what my bike needed. I went for a ride right from the store and felt like new!

Handy Bikes -- Bicycle Repair, Sales, & Service: what do users think?

Spartan8193: Hands down the best bike shop around northern Virginia. They are very knowledgeable about their work. I did a tune-up service on my giant reign and got a rear-wheel rebuilt. They did a great job on everything, the bike feels like new. I like their 60-day period service warranty. I have recommended the shop to all my friends.

Frank DeCarlo: I brought my bike to Handy Bikes early on in the pandemic when seemingly everyone needed to buy or repair a bike, and back when they were working out of a storage unit in Del Ray. They were one of the few places that had easy online booking and were open on the weekends. It had been years since I road my bike, let alone did any maintenance, and they were very helpful in providing a full assessment with details about what needed to be done to get it back into working condition. The work and service was outstanding. They also offer free adjustments up to 30 days after the appointment, which I also took advantage of due to some minor tweaks that were needed. More recently in March 2022, I took my bike into their relatively new brick and mortar location for an annual tune-up (despite it being two years since my last maintenance). The owner and staff continue to be very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They even remembered all the work they previously did on my bike, which really impressed me after having not seen my bike for two years. I shopped around prices both back in 2020 and now in 2022, and I'm convinced that they cannot be beat. Their new storefront is great and just a stones throw away from Port City Brewing. They will continue to get my business, and I also recommend them to anyone else in the market for bike repair or sale.

Christopher Castillo: This place is really great. I bought a high-end touring bike from Handy Bikes during the pandemic, and was always kept up to date on delivery estimates despite all of the supply-chain issues. I also once brought in another bike in on a weekend to get some fenders installed, and the mechanic stayed an extra hour after closing time to get it done that same day. Top-notch customer service.

Jimmy Archange: If you are looking for a quality bike shop, look no further than Handy Bikes. My bike was in dire need of repairs, and they brought my bike up to racing standards. Their attention to detail is second to none, and I will recommend this bike shop above all else. Their customer service is top-notch, and they will provide you with expert advice on bringing your bike up to standard.

Ja H: Handy Bikes is a great bike shop. I have had them tune up my bike for me the past three years. They are thorough, fast, and reasonably priced. They have not tried to upsell me. This year I needed a recommendation for a new helmet and I am very pleased with the one they suggested. Highly recommend the shop.

Jae Robinson: What a great place! Best bike shop EVER! They have an excellent team of knowledgeable people (Sam, Jordan, and Reese all know their stuff!) - Efficient, thorough, fast .. friendly .. Honest .. no bull service Love 'em - Stop by and say "Hi" 👋

Elvis Cordova: This place is truly a hidden gem! I happened to be randomly driving by when I saw the shop. I stopped by and got an estimate for some bike repairs. Not only were the repairs very affordable, but the quality of the work was superb. On top of that, they offer a 60-day guarantee on their repairs, which just goes to show how much confidence they have in their work. I was completely satisfied with their customer service, their quality of work, and their craftsmanship. This is the place I will always go to for my bike pair and bike accessory needs. I highly encourage you to check them out.

Melissa Warren: Best bike repair place ever. Willing to change out elements. They are patient & methodical while helping riders figure out which elements & adjustments work best for them. Rock bottom prices + Honesty = Highly Recommended.

jon legaspi: I hadn't ridden my bike in years and decided to bring it back to life. Maria did an awesome job doing that. The bike rode like new again. I had the tube and tires replaced along with a tune up. I couldn't be happier...I would highly recommend this place for your bicycle needs.

Brett Werblow: A honest, friendly bike shop that started out of an old food truck and grown into a beautiful store front in Alexandria. I've been taking my tri bike to them for over 2 years and its nice to walk into a place with kind and caring staff that's non-judgmental. While mainly service based (with great rates), they seem to be growing their retail shop with sharp looking gravel bikes in stock.

Vélocity Bicycle Cooperative: what do users think?

Stephanie Watson: Super friendly, knowledgeable staff, and fantastic experience! After explaining my bike needs, a specific bike was suggested perfect for my height. I took it for a little spin down the block and everything worked perfectly. I got to ride my new bike home and a great way to start the weekend!

A F: I’ve been coming here off and on for a decade or so and this is just about the best shop I’ve ever been to- not just for cycling, but for anything. Great people with a great mission, knowledgeable, fairly priced and very community oriented. Whether you’re looking for somewhere to donate, to buy a bike or cycling gear, or have work done, this is the place to go. I wish every shop was more like velocity

thomas braden: Update to my original review. Returned today as my son’s bike had a flat tire and needed a new brake handle. 30 minutes in and out - on a Saturday nonetheless! All for about $60 - a wonderful organization and team running this coop!! Every neighborhood should be so fortunate!! ————— Great people - great place - best free advise I've received in years! Stopped in today to get my son's bike fixed. He only just recently told me, "Dad, I love the bike, but the brakes don't really work and well, neither do the gear shifters!?!" (WTH??) Mike at the Bike Coop told me it's be more money than the bike is worth to repair it, he said go to Target and return it - it's not right and its just not safe! So I did, even though it was more than 90 days since I bought it, and amazingly Target gave me a full refund, no complaints or questions asked. I wouldn't have done this without your advise - thanks for keeping me from throwing my good money after bad! You guys rock!
Response: Thanks Thomas! Come back again soon!

Rashawnda Watson: We came in prepared to purchase a bike today. Sadly, we were ignored. Then, to add insult to injury, we were directed outside “where the used bikes are”. Now I’m no bike salesman, but that can’t be a good sales pitch. You failed today, Velocity.
Response: Rashawnda, I’m sorry for the poor service. I understand how frustrating that must have been. Like most everyone at Vélocity, I’m one of the volunteers. I’d be interested in further discussing your experience if you’re open for a phone call. Please feel free to call me if you’d like. Lastly, in the event no one mentioned it to you, we only sell used bicycle and they our outside the shop. The bicycles inside are customers bike awaiting repairs. It's disappointing that our team didn't clarify with you that we only sell used bikes and point you in the direction of a bike shop with new bikes. Bayley Vanderpoel Velocity Board Member and volunteer tel:703-863-4464

Duvalier Hernandez: Great spot, so many cool things going on. Its a bike geek dream, parts galore. Thanks to the team that saved my ride with an allen wrench to remove my pedals.

Andrew Zembala: The team was really helpful, and encourages people to learn how to work on their own bikes. They offer great service and both new and used parts. I'll definitely be back for any tune-ups or parts I need in the future.

USofC at: Great for home mechanics in need of older parts or tools. I love coming here for odds and ends. If you know what your looking for, there's a great chance you'll something at a very reasonable price. I recently came in with a VooDoo frameset and was able to buy and install and headset, bottom bracket and a few other bits. I got a terrific deal on some cranks along with cables/housing. I was able get most of the tricky install stuff done in the shop under an hour. They have all the tools for bottombrackets, brakes, etc. I've even laced up hand-built wheels and finished tensioning them up here with their tools (15$/hour or visit which is a bargain for having full access to so many tools) The staff are knowledgable and enthusiastic to walk you through a repair. Of course, it can get busy so dont go in on a warm, sunny Saturday and expect handholding. Love this place. Please be here forever.
Response: Thanks for the kind words! Sounds like you've been able to enjoy a lot of what we have to offer. Happy trails!

M Alspaugh: I discovered this place about a year ago when I was looking for a bike that wouldn't break my bank account and 3 of the family members wanted bikes. I also later needed a reliable place to go to as I have absolutely no idea how to repair or maintenance bikes. The staff are good humored, reliable, and honest. Their repairs and advice, and overall, willingness to teach my 14 year old son how to repair his own bike ( and how to avoid breaking it more than necessary) is impressive. I have been exceedingly pleased with both their service and their products. I have gotten a (new) bike for my son as he managed to outgrow last year's bike and also break it permanently in the process. The bike he got was a considerable upgrade and is fantastic. I have never had the issues with the store like one of the reviews. They have always been open when the website says it is. A gem in our community. In a community where generally one throws things away rather than gets quality and repairs it, this store is truly important to support and value. Outstanding.

Chris Jones: This is a great bike shop - friendly, awesome prices, and a very knowledgeable staff. In my case, my bike has old, hard-to-adjust cantilever brakes. The mechanics were able to adjust them perfectly - something three other shops couldn't do - and they only charged me $15! They did it while I waited, so I had a chance to watch them interact with a bunch of customers. With each one they listened to what they wanted, did their best to find them the right bike or part, and tried to get them the best value possible. Just bear in mind that they only do used bikes and gear. It is a great place to get a practical commuter, Sunday cruiser, or cool retro ride, and is also a good source for used and tough-to-locate older parts. You aren't going to find a $5,000 carbon fiber racer, but there are plenty of other options in the area if that is what you're looking for.
Response: Thanks for the love! We really appreciate the feedback.

Mariam Gimbi: Wow highly respect well done, best customer service plus advise I saved almost a lot of money, @ the end I only paid $80.00, thanks again, for everything wish you the best, wow🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🙏👌👌👌💯💯💯💯

Proteus Bicycles: what do users think?

Sarah OMalley: Absolutely amazing experience. Laurie was personable, worked with my budget, and got me on the bike of my DREAMS while educating me along the way! I cannot recommend Proteus enough. Don’t mess around with online vendors, let a professional team get you set up! Come for the bikes, stay for the in-shop coffee :)
Response: Thanks Sarah! It was an absolute pleasure working with you today! Please come back to visit!

Recon DMV: Exceptional Service. Laurie was professional and knowledgeable. Family owned business. They had everything I wanted. Also the bike I wanted and set it up for me. I will be going back and highly recommended. I even got a coffee. Most important, reasonable prices. 3/22- I went back a few more times. I even purchased another bike. The customer service is exceptional. After my 1st Trail Ride, I thought I blew the seals on the forks. They checked it out & got me back on the road. Highly recommended
Response: Thank you for the feedback and thanks for shopping at Proteus! We hope you’re enjoying your new bike!

Bethany Gresser: Excellent service! I was greeted immediately and brought me to Duncan to help me get a new red light for the back of my bike. He was very friendly and he worked with despite my not knowing all that much about bikes. He made a recommendation based on what I told him I needed, he showed me a couple different spots where it could be mounted, then he installed it right there. He also answered a couple other questions I had about about bikes that had nothing to do with my purchase. I highly recommend Proteus Bicycles in College Park, MD!
Response: Thanks for the feedback Bethany and thanks for shopping at Proteus! We hope to see you again soon!

Sreyas Sourav: I set out to buy a bike for daily use and stumbled upon Proteus since it had excellent reviews and was better than the one available near campus. My rep was excellent , he helped me out and was patient and answered my questions and even threw few perks. Highly recommend .
Response: We hope you enjoy your new bike! Thanks for your kind words. Happy riding!

Mr. G: Stopped by to get some bike wash with 5 minutes till closing time. Not only did they help me with that, but they offered and fixed my sons bike. The crew stayed late to get it done. They swapped his worn out tire and tube and fixed his brake cable. I think it was a little pricy but I'm not an everyday bike rider so what do I know. They helped me out and did it fast.

Jayid: Very courteous and professional staff member. Had a pleasant experience shopping for my bike. Highly recommend.

Terrence Sanchez: I always go here to get my bicycle needs especially when I need to get my mountain bike fixed. Bunch of cool and nice people here! The coffee shop is a great addition as well. Grab a cup of coffee while waiting for your bike to get fixed? Sure! Def recommend
Response: Thanks for your business! We’re happy to keep you riding!

Tru Blu: Since everyone's getting active on their bicycles, I decided to do the same. Heard good things from this shop and stopped in. Ben's service and knowledge of what I need was extended w/friendly expression (under face mask) and professional service. Service completed under 30'min...THANK YOU!!
Response: Glad we could help!

seancday: I purchased a road bike from Proteus. I used their website to make the purchase and went to the store to pick up. Tremendous service. Laurie was excellent. Knowledgeable and friendly. I arrived after a store group ride had finished so a lot of the regulars were out front and it was a friendly community. I live pretty far from the store or it would be my local shop (always have a local shop if you bike).
Response: Thanks Sean! It was great to meet you and Jack! Hope to see you again soon! - Laurie

Keith Baker: Great experience. Dropped my bike off for repairs/adjustments and it was ready 2 hours later. Professional service at a great price!

REI Co-op: what do users think?

Michael Brown: As a company, REI should not inflict their political beliefs onto customers. That said, they carry good gear and this particular location is fantastic. Every time I have come here they have exactly what I need. The staff are friendly and helpful and generally knowledgeable. I don’t know who makes REI branded clothes and gear, but they do a good job.

Mike R: I like this store for so many reasons. First: they have excellent customer service. Today I walked in with my bike to get my flat tire fixed. A woman approached me and signed me in. Then a man walked up to me and asked if I would like to him to park my bike. I was appalled by this gesture. Second: This establishment has everything here. I mean like… leave that bike area if you want to. You will be buying anything from energy gel to underwear. Third: conveniently located right beside the metro.

Anne Probst: Thank you Jeremy in cycling for taking care of my bike I commute on. Haley assisted and was down to earth and happy. High five to Micah in footwear who helped me find a size in a scarpa I haven’t been able to find in stores in 4 years. He’s super knowledgeable and was connecting with all the customers. Thank you REI DC!

Patrick F.: The 2 stars is not for the products, it's for the lack of service. Lord forbid you need some help. I waited forever even after pushing this button (photo) and a guy that was helping someone else acknowledged they heard me and would be coming. Still waiting as I type this. FYI, I have purched thousands from this store....sigh!!

Louisa Buatti: I visited REI for the first time since the pandemic began. My pick up of an online order went very smoothly. Every staff person I encountered was friendly and helpful--they all offered to direct me to the customer service/pick up area. I was in and out of the store in a flash.

Andrea Wu: I came here to pick up my shoes that I ordered online, and after trying them out in nature, they were too big so I came back to return and get new ones. The staff helping me was very helpful, bringing me different shoes for me to try on. I finally got a pair that fit properly, and checkout was pretty speedy too. Parking on the street might be a bit tough, but it's not too bad!

H Gill: Great store! love REI… but checking out here is always a 15 min wait. The checkout line moves at a snail’s pace, and the managers/supervisors don’t seem to care. I’ve seen customers put items down and leave out of frustration.

Rebecca Tolbert: Generally a good store, but the parking situation is currently very weird. You park in the parking deck and then have to walk all the way around a whole city block because they have blocked off the elevator and stairs. So, you drive into the parking deck and then have this surprise journey ahead of you, through a sketchy alley and everything. Just wanted to give other customers a heads up!

Ben Layton: Bike shop effectively closes at 6:30, not 7:00, since you have to get on a wait-list to get the bike checked in and the wait-list closes at 6:30. Called in advance and told them when I'd get there and they didn't mention that, so came all the way here for nothing. Turnaround on basic repairs also 9-10 days rn, which is honestly nuts.

R: Oddly enough they aren’t dog friendly yet I saw a pitbull walking around without a service vest. The area around is horrendous, good luck finding a parking spot. Really disappointed that REIs aren’t dog friendly yet their competitors REI and Bass Pro is.

Crossroads Cycle: what do users think?

Bailey Colson: Very impressed with the service of this place and the knowledge the guys have. I needed an oil change and rear tire change and the guy took time out of his day to explain my options and find the best situation for me. I will continue to bring my bike here for service. Highly recommend.

sahn cha: Brought my bike in for an oil change/fluid check/general inspection and was quoted a week. Dennis and the crew finished everything by the next day. The epitome of under-promise/over-deliver. Would recommend to anyone in the area.Service: Oil change

Francis: I've come here for years and have been meaning to write a review forever. Crossroads is one of the best shops in the area. The mechanics are competent and generally very personable. The owner, Dennis, is very personable and doesn't treat his customers like rubes or piggy banks. I once had a problem that a nearby shop couldn't figure out after keeping my bike for over a week. One of the Crossroads mechanics listened to my description of the problem, asked a couple of questions, and had the problem diagnosed within a couple of minutes. Great service and great prices. This area needs more shops like this.

Alex: This garage shop is bound to put all others out of business. They exceed expectations every time by placing customers first. Their work is top notch quality for a much more reasonable price tag than that of dealerships. These guys are among the best of the best and care for your bike as if it were their own.

Tess Canino: Crossroads was friendly and kind when I broke down. I was able to get a tow there, whereupon they were communicative and clearly know what they are doing with motorcycles. My bike had water in the tank, and they were able to clean everything out without taking apart all 4 carbs -- saving me a good deal of money. My bike runs great, they saved me from an expensive repair, and were totally friendly and kind. Will be my go-to shop from now on.

Se-Gil Feldsott (Louis): The owner is awesome. The building is a bit hard to find, but they are very friendly here. I'd recommend it to all bike lovers

D Allen: Professional and very friendly. Excellent work! I am an engineer an value precision measurements and tools. They have them and use them. Never trust a shop that doesn't check torque specs. They are also a great group of people.

Sean Spence: These guys undercharged me for the work they did and fixed 3 issues I didn’t ask them to. Their attitudes are fantastic and I love hanging out there. There are a ton of interesting bikes there too. Bikes ranging from the 40s through the 90s

saravanan seetharaman: Best place to get your motorcycle checked out, the owner Dennis and people who work there are pretty knowledgeable and give you reasonable estimate on time and price... I got my Yamaha bolt serviced here from the very first 600 mile service. It's been take care very well... would recommend this place when compared with dealers for maintenance service, sometimes if you go on prime time the wait time is longer but you will get your motorcycle before the given time estimate.

Tony: I had a tire leak on 495 and was barely able to get the bike to Crossroads. Very helpful and knowledgeable owner. Mechanics were quick about the repairs. Reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

Pedego Electric Bikes Alexandria: what do users think?

James Gordon: I rented an electric bike today from Todd and his team...what a GREAT experience! Since this was my first time renting/riding an electric bike, Todd gave a thorough tutorial before sending me out. The bike was easy to ride and made the trip to DC easy with the pedal assist from the bike. Please note, this is a GREAT way to tour DC. I followed the Mt. Vernon Trail which took about 40 min. to get over to DC. The bike was easy to navigate through the streets as the city is VERY bike friendly. I spent about 5 hours site seeing as well as stopping by a couple brew houses (only tasted the beer with flights), then I headed back to the shop. I had time so I went the other direction on the Mt. Vernon Trail. Overall, this is probably one of the best things I have done in some time. Great experience and great customer service. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

jim shanks: Todd and his staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable on the electric bikes. Great customer service and no pressure at all on buying. They did an excellent job educating us on using the first ebike that we purchased. Will definitely highly recommend to family and friends!!

Alexis McVey: Todd was amazing with teaching us how to use the electric bikes and how to navigate riding in town and down Mt Vernon trail. Renting bikes and riding the trail was the highlight of our trip. Todd is the nicest guy and would recommend his shop to everyone !

Highly Favored: Todd and his team were super professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The electric bikes are superb, comfortable and provide an awesome experience to Mt. Vernon Estate. Our tickets were ready when we arrived. Highly recommend. Stop by Jack's place down the street for a nice power breakfast.

Thomas Allen: Todd went above and beyond to help me experience an amazing bike ride to Mt. Vernon. What a treat to be given such excellent customer service! He deserves more than five stars!

McKinney Monica: Shout out to Todd at Pedigo! Had called to tentatively schedule a tour for friends visiting from out of town. Unfortunately one of the participants was not feeling well and needed to reschedule. I had completely forgotten that we had discussed a couple of potential dates and Todd called as a follow up. Didn’t make the tour, but the fact that he called to touch base…if the customer service is an indication of the tour-WE can’t wait! If this is something you are interested in, definitely contact them.

Jeff Ventura: Todd was super friendly and helpful. He wasn't high pressured and took a lot of time walking through the features of the bike I am considering. I'd definitely feel confident buying from here.

jeremy lippman: Fabulous experience. Took the water taxi over and test drove my first ebike. Todd, and his staff, were super friendly and very knowledgeable. They have bikes to buy, rent or test drive for enthusiasts of all ages, sizes, and experience.

Harrietta Sheppard: Just make sure that you don't have a flat 2-miles from George Washington's Mount Vernon because you will be asked 'where' you purchased your bike AND if you didn't purchase it from this location, you will end up walking 4-hours into the night under the bridge in the dark because even though the shop was 5-minutes away by vehicle, no consideration or effort was offered other than, 'I'm closing in 5-minutes and I can't help you. It should NOT have made a difference WHERE I purchased my bike😡😡🚴🏾‍♀️ LESSONS LEARNED: NEVER ask for help again from this location AND learn how to fix flats.

Chris Langford: Our family of four rented bikes from Todd, the owner, on a whim to do a ride out to Mount Vernon, and we had a blast! Todd was absolutely fantastic; not only did he do an excellent job educating us on using his bikes, but he also gave us some great tips for our trip. We highly recommend Pedego of Alexandria. Note, our child was under 14, and so we got a two-seater Tandem, and we had no problems at all.

Harley-Davidson of Washington, DC: what do users think?

Ahmed Weshahy: The team here is nothing short of family. Such an awesome crew. Very welcoming and friendly. Find my man Roy on the showroom floor if you need any assistance and he will hook you up. Gene, Rick, and everyone on the team is truly awesome. Highly recommend for DMV Harley Owners/Prospective Buyers!
Response: Thank you for the kind words!

Thomas Warrick: I made an appointment for a motorcycle state inspection. The service writer was very professional and polite. When the state inspector saw that it was a Honda Trike instead of a Harley-Davidson, he came up with a reason not to perform the inspection. He told me that he didn't have the specifications on the thickness of the rear rotors and it wasn't his job to figure what the minimum thickness should be. I would think that if you're doing maryland inspections, you would have the tools and information you to perform your job. I shouldn't have to provide that information for him to do his job. I went to Atlantic Cycle where they were able to perform the inspection immediately without making an appointment.
Response: Hello and thanks for the feedback. This is good information and I will do what is necessary to make sure this kind of experience does not happen again. I would love to speak to you about this if you have some time. Thanks again for your feedback hope to talk soon. Craig GM

William Price: Met Gene, Sales manager, who explained how COVID had "affected" their limited amount of pre-owned inventory. Then he offered a test ride of the new "Milwaukee 8". Much smoother than the older twin cam motors. He even called several times & sent pics of different bike.
Response: We believe the customer experience is everything, thank you for giving us the opportunity!

Misty Faubus: Check out their clearance rack! 3 ss shirts 1 ls shirt 2 sweatshirts a pair of riding boots and a pair of tennis shoes 152.00! Very friendly staff.
Response: Thank you Misty!

Delana Oliver: They are great with connecting with the community. The staff is attentive and they make you feel special when you buy a motorcycle.
Response: Thank you Delana!

MrEric B: From the initial greeting of the Aaron my salesperson to the closing of the deal, EVERYTHING was amazing. I will definitely be returning for my next Harley purchase. 3 thumbs up. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Response: Thank you, we appreciate you!!

Mike M: I'll only give this place two stars due to them having a good deal on the past rolling thunder shirts. When I walked in I didn't get greeted at all, just stared at be the click in the corner. I was looking for some parts at the parts department and the staff was rude. I purchased some clothes with no welcoming feel from the staff and they mixed up my purchase with someone else's. I love Harley but I don't like this location especially it being a representation of our nation's capital.
Response: Mike I want to apologize for your experience at our store. This kind of interaction is the exact opposite of what we strive for as a Dealership. I hope you can give us an opportunity to change your opinion of our store . I would like to speak to you about this if you would like. My email is Craigg@hdofdc.com please feel free to reach out so we can solve these things . Thanks

wyldwsl: This dealership has gotten their act together. Do not let you previous experiences keep you from visiting it, renewing your relationships with their staff, and dealing with them again. I purchased my 2021 Street Glide Special from them in 12/2021 and it was a pleasurable experience.
Response: Love this! Thank you, my team is working hard to let everyone know we are different and care about our guests!

Christopher Johnson: I had my Harley Davidson towed to this facility, the service was great, Hondo is the man! The entire staff seemed to really care about the customer. I picked the bike up on a Tuesday, and took it on a road trip the following morning.....I made it about 650 miles and had another issue with my bike, I spoke with Both Harley dealerships, Fort Washington, and the Harley dealership I had to have it towed to. When I spoke to the service manager Chris, He was very apologetic, told me that I was not to worry, he was sorry that it happened, and that he would handle it. I received a follow up call from the GM, and he informed me that it has been handled. Thank you again for for everything.
Response: , Hello Christopher, I will give you a call on this matter today

dustin kosar: My insurance's roadside assistance towed my BMW bike to the dealership instead of a BMW dealership. Craig Garrett (General Manager) was great at helping me work through the issue. He stored my bike while I coordinated with BMW to get new tires, and gave me an extremely fair price to tow it to another shop who services bikes like mine. This is a dealership that ensures, regardless of manufacturer, riders take care of each other. The next time I'm shopping for a new bike, I'll gladly come here first.
Response: We believe that riders should take care of riders! Glad you were able to experience HD of DC!

2 Wheel Performance: what do users think?

Haden Wirick: Took my 2017 CBR 500R here for a chain adjustment, service was pretty quick and on top of that they removed the Freeplay in my throttle cable so it has less movement before engaging the throttle. cleaned, lubed and adjusted the chain for only 15.75$. (the dealer wanted to charge 36.80$) I was also informed that i will need a new chain and sprockets in the near future because they are worn and they helped me find and reccomended parts. Not only was the paid service provided but they went the extra mile to make sure my bike was in better shape than when it came in and i am definitely beyond satisfied with the service.

Lauren Bullard: Very professional group of people! I called them to see if they could squeeze me in to get my chain switched out and they were able to accommodate me. Very forward, affordable & didn't push any extra services on me, even though they definitely could have pushed new sprockets with the chain switch (mine was rusted from the old owner). Absolutely will be back & will recommend others!

Alex Hand: Fantastic motorcycle shop! Was informed every step of the way how my bikes repairs were going, they were professional and courteous throughout the repair process. Definetely a store that sets the bar high for others. 10/10 Would reccomend!

Veronica: These are the go to guys for Motorcycles Period. Someone crashed into my bike and they took care of it for me. They even let me visit it when I'm missing it to death while its there. 😭 Pino is awesome..I like it there.

CinKo Del: So happy I decided to take my bike here. Was a little bit of a hike for me, which Is why I hadn't been originally, but I had an electrical issue that I did not have time to diagnose, and decided to bring it in. Forewarning, yes I write a lot, but it is worth it to me to say how good they were. First, yes there are plenty of motorcycle shops in the area that will do an oil change, your standard services, and basic performance upgrades... but if you call and mention the words "Ducati" and "Electrical" everyone of them says they cant do it and to try somewhere else. I called 2 wheels and said what my issues was, told them it was a track bike and had a bit of electrical "reconfiguration" throughout. And needed someone to diagnose and repair an issue I had. Sam, told me no problem and bring it in they can get it taken care of. Wow finally a motorcycle shop not scared to work on motorcycles. On the drive in, I got held up in traffic, I called and let him know I was running a few minutes late...and he stayed till after it closed to get my bike taken in and get me taken care of...That's unheard of around here. They told me their timeline and said they would be giving me a call next week with an update. Come Tuesday morning (yesterday) I get a call from 2 Wheels, and I was half expecting for them to tell me they couldn't fix it, it needed parts, or it was going to be a lot of money. I took a deep breath and he said "Bikes ready to go, total's 120" I was so freaking happy, one they fixed it and two they charged me pretty much just a standard diagnostic fee and that's all. I was expecting at least a couple hundred bucks and way more down time..no wonder they are packed. Anyways it was literally snowing when he called, so I said I would be by the following day to pick it up. So, last but not least, and this is really is what makes them stand out the most to me, is after I paid they asked me how I was getting it home, and I said I have a trailer out front, the Two of them jumped up without me asking and followed me out in the literally 19 degree weather and helped me load my bike on the trailer. They handled my bike like it was their bike, and made sure it was secured before heading back in. This place is awesome, real riders, and just real good people, definitely recommend!

Kylie Givens: This shop is great! The only shop near Fort Meade that would take a look at my 1996 Suzuki Intruder. They were very accommodating and kept me in the loop the whole time it was being worked on. Very fair prices! Highly reccomend this shop for your bike needs!

tony tyre: These are the best guys around . Anyone that gives them less then a 5 🌟 they don't know shxt and don't understand . I deal with tons of custom shop and they are the shxt . Really can't thank them enough . Remember custom stuff takes custom time and custom patients to get custom results. Thanks again guys for all the custom shxt.

Tania Blanchard: Pino and staff were AWESOME!! They have repeat business with us!! My hubby is sooo excited with the work they did on his Busa.

Kevin Cowhrd: Took my 24 year old sportbike to them for a light service. They had it ready 3 days before the original estimate. I will definitely be taking my business to them in the future.

Willie Cooley: This has been the most helpful place motorcycle repair

DICK'S Sporting Goods: what do users think?

Aaron Contic: Came into this location to purchase a set of irons, found a set of Taylormade M2 irons that I initially thought were correctly priced at $499. I asked the team member working in the golf department that I was interested and ask where the rest of the set was. He replied that the rest of the set was missing. I asked what was the current price with 3 clubs of the 7 iron set missing? His response was “that’s the price, my manger won’t change it for some reason, but you can ask him” So I asked to speak to the manger which He initially said was available. I was then told that the manager currently on duty was conveniently on a conference call and was now unavailable and the answer was “NO” on a new price for the remaining clubs. To start the team member was friendly and helpful. That being said. I’m also a manager in retail and if a customer asked to talk to a manager about a reasonable question. Im not going to have my employee have to tell the customer “NO” That’s terrible customer service and it’s also a bad business practice to try to sell customers a product that’s missing pieces for the same price as if it’s not!

Misael Reyes: Staff was very helpful soon as I walked through the door security asked what I needed and I got it in less than 20 minutes I was out the door with my daughter's rollerblade slash roller skates

Maritza Cooper: Always a pleasure to visit this location. The store is always clean and organized. You usually get greeted as you walk in the door. The associates are always helpful and pretty knowledgeable. They will go out of their way to help! Well stocked too! Bought a fitness trampoline to keep a 7 yr old from going stir crazy in an apartment during these NO School days! Hope it works! It was Waaay up high. Had 3 different associates make sure I got what needed. All while helping other customers.

Ara Koh: Ok location compared to other ones. Nicely organized but their shoes selection is not so great.

The Next King: Shallun was amazing!!!! Great help. First time coming to Dick’s Sporting Goods and I was impressed I will be back thank you.

david fegan: good experience shopping here today. multiple staff members were helpful.

L. P. Rock: Went there to purchase a bicycle. Not 1 store employee had any more knowledge of bikes than I did. Me: What size frame does this bike have? Dick's rep: That's a good question, I have no idea sir.Virginia here I come.

Angie Owens: oh my goodness I was on the phone with my cousin, while she was shopping for football cleats for her son. When I tell you that the amount of "OUTSTANDING" customer service that the professional young lady "Ryan" gave to her while she was shopping was absolutely amazing!! I had to tell my cousin through the phone to please tell Ms. Ryan that the level of coatomer service she gave was "THE BEST" that I have seen in a very long time. Ryan if your reading this please keep up the good work!! I am extremely proud of you young lady.

Liliana Gonzalez: Zach did a great job helping me find the the gym equipment I needed. He even helped me load these items into my car after I doubted if the gym equiptment I bough would fit. Thank you so much to him and Horse for the exellent service!

Bella Adoni: Varieties of sports goods. Place was clean and staffs very attentive. They acknowledged us at the time of entry. I and my friend were the only customers in the store. I could have given the store five stars if the price for most of the items were reasonable.
