Penn Social: what do users think?

Axel Robertson: This place is absolutely amazing. The location is great, the place is massive like an iceberg, upstairs looks big but it's just the tip, downstairs is where the fun is. If you're a sports fan you have 360 degrees of giant screens showing all major professional sports. Staff are amazing. They make you feel at home. I'll be returning. Many times

Aaron-Micheal Blackman: Solid bar, decent food, good staff. Very much enjoyed the music on the lower floor, which has a dance floor and a few nice games. I imagine it can get more lively but it was almost empty at the time. I did enjoy the music selection though.

Black Star Dust: Penn social is a dope spot for watching sports! The downstairs area is filled with projector size screens and the sound system is a close second to being at the game. Great place to go check it you favorite teams and meet up with friends. They have other games to play like corn hole, basketball and giant sized Jenga. Lots of choices on tap and a full bar. Great spot.

Ashten B.: Atmosphere was great, blackberry frozen margarita was 🏾💋. Parking garage is super close. Couple things I wish were better when having tables for a live event would be too have the tables a little more spaced out and have more finger foods on the menu. I'll definitely be back!

Daniel Dias: Cool spot to hang out with friends have a drink and play some games. Staff was cool! Only complaint was online it said they would have the UFC fights on and when we arrived no fights. So had 2 drinks and left.

ThinkPink Cottages: We had a great experience at this place on Sunday. Our bartender Jasmine Was very knowledgeable and attentive we had Prosecco on tab with fresh orange juice pot pie and couple cocktails. This place is a great relaxing for easy beverage.

Natalie Thomas: Drinks are fine although they kept making my friends and I’s orders wrong (I ordered for a whiskey sour, got a gin and tonic, someone asked for a vodka cran, we don’t even know what we got.) The place is huge though and dancing is always fun and they play a variety of music which is nice! Kitchen closed before we got there sadly so don’t know what the food is like

Mayo Tracy: I really like this spot. Great music and the drinks were really good. Staff was friendly and I like the option of being able to purchase seats. Kevin Ross was amazing too.

erica chin: Went to see Kevin Ross at this venue. Show was supposed to start at 8:00 PM and at 8:20 show hadn’t started. The seating chart that was published for the show was different than how the seats were ranged for the show. Everyone was jammed into a small space and people were allowed to stand and block views of people who bought tables. Never coming back here. Horrible, horrible venue.

Jim Dalton: Had pictures of games. Not open unless large event. Happy hour prices are always applied. Wouldn’t come back.
Response: Hi Jim, I'm sorry your visit to Little Penn Coffeehouse didn't meet your expectations. We had to pivot after COVID and we're trying something new! I hope you give us another chance if you are ever in the mood for a craft cocktail, breakfast sandwich or a boozy coffee cocktail. Best,

Rocket Bar: what do users think?

Shelley: Cheap drinks and lots of fun and games in this basement dive bar. Pool, shuffleboard, darts, and loud hip hop music. Was packed for a Wednesday night, with mostly hipsters on their 20's and 30's. Our grouchy bartender added to the underground ambiance.

Melinda Nguyen: Very cool place with lots of pool, darts, and games. It was obviously packed on a Saturday night after the Caps game, but still able to squeeze around if needed. There weren't any pool tables or other games available unfortunately. They had 3 bars which was nice so it wasn't difficult to get a drink. I imagine it's much better when it's less crowded. Seems like a fun place.

Nate B: We enjoyed this place. This is hidden gem in the basement. Drinks were good. Service was great. Prices were reasonable. Free popcorn. I would definitely recommend this place.

Baynard Marcus (RUDY): great atmosphere, music, selection of games, darts is so hard to find but they have it here, lounge area is nice, multiple bars and experienced bar tenders, floors were ridiculously sticky, bathrooms seem to not have been cleaned often enough, security was great and overall had a great time and will be back asap🤝

QDotDizzle: One of the highlights of my DC experience... right in Chinatown in the City Center, cheap drinks, friendly welcoming locals, pool, darts, shuffle board, video games, your pickiest friend would be ok wandering around this basement level bar! Must come to if you're in DC

Snigdha Agarwal: Pros: Lots of pool tables. I like that we can bring outside food here. The beer is really nice. Cons: Arcade games are few and they are also quite expensive. The joysticks in pacman didn't work properly. Card payment did not work at the game card recharge kiosk. Overall decent experience and a nice place to hangout with friends.

Gregg Cambareri: Stopped by after a Caps game with some friends. We had a few beers during the game and were very sober yet one of the bouncers escorted my friend out for being "over served" which was completely absurd. A half hour later, I got the same treatment and was also forced to leave for being "too intoxicated." I've never been treated in such a way in any bar, any state. Our group was respectful, well behaved and polite throughout the entirety of the night yet forced to leave for no real reason. I'm not sure what kind of agenda the security staff have going but I would not recommend anyone else go and find out.

J J: Rocket Bar is always a vibe no matter the day of the week. The bouncers are friendly, the drinks are reasonable and the happy hour last until 8! They have games you can play and good music to dance too.

Shannon A. McGhee: It was a rainy afternoon and it was pretty dry inside the establishment. However it not being any patronage in the joint, it was a very n ice establishment to come and get some drinks and get involved playing pool, board games, darts, and dancing. Nice lil get away spot downtown. Check them out and let's help the place get jumping.

Thoff: This place is terrible. Atmosphere was fine felt like a frat party honestly. Me and my friends were having a decent time until one of them got kicked out for absolutely no reason. The bouncer claimed he was far too intoxicated, but we were simply playing shuffleboard. After that, another friend got kicked out! And I saw others being kicked out for the worst reasons. I wouldn’t go here if you don’t plan on your night being ruined.

Players Club: what do users think?

Its Me Jessica: This place was so fun. Definitely old school pinball machines, pool tables, board games you name it they had it! Great time I will be back!

Jeremiah Skopp: Now I understand that some of what I'm about to say is conjecture but several other reviews as well as word of mouth at other local bars seem to back it. I had a brief experience with the door person whom was incredibly rude as I spoke to her dead sober mind you. I understand there are certain covid requirements which I would have been happy to follow had she not been so rude. I did not argue nor was I rude with her. I simply said I will go and get the required items from my vehicle instead I just left never to return. This was my first experience with this bar and definitely my last. She had an incredibly short condescending tone and way about her in general. I can see by the lack of business responses in the comments that this business really doesn't care so here we are. Replace your door staff is my only recommendation as I hadn't gotten to enter the establishment.
Response: Hi Jeremiah. Thank you for your feedback. We very much do care. Moving forward, we will ask our door person to be extra courteous. Thanks again!

Leonard Ferguson: It has the basement smell and feel of... Early 90's late 70's all 80's video games, pinball machines and coin operations. Pool Tables, Aww Skeet Skeet ball and Foosball. House beers, and board games. Records and Movie posters on the wall that make you feel at home. Order some Evelyn Champagne King for your crew.

Ellie Somers: Don’t recommend. Staff is rude and condescending. Drinks are eh at best. The only thing they have going for them is the rooftop and that’s only worth it if the weather is nice. Wouldn’t go out of my way for this place when there are MUCH better bars in the area. And if you’re going for the games, there are better places for that too. Definitely would skip this one.

Tim Jenks: Come for a bar or billiards, not for the arcade. Bar service was typical, no complaints there, and they have 3 billiards tables with ample room around them. The arcade portion was very underwhelming though. Very few machines, the pinball one I chose needed maintenance because the ball got stuck multiple times, and the machines are a confusing mix of accepting bills or quarters.

Tom: Charging full dollar for pinball that doesn’t work. Lock bar on black knight is off, shield doesn’t work, GNR has zero ball save, and Iron Maiden doesn’t even have working coin slots. Dollar pinball is fine if it’s in working condition. Until then, Stay away. Stay far away.

Alexis Faciane: We enjoyed it. I do wish there were just a few more games but the atmosphere was great and we still balled out on the games they did have. I'd say definitely worth a visit

ciara d: Fun place to drink and play games with your friends. Cool date on calmer nights . They used to have a window to order shake shack through but I’m not sure if that is still available.

Official Godiva: I really love the nice 70s vibe here. The drinks are nice but it would be great if they had a wider selection of cocktails. I would definitely visit again.

Addy Adds: Racially targeted. I was the target of racial discrimination by several black males who worked when I visited on March 4, 2022. I was followed by one INTO the restroom as he watched me urinate. They claimed I was "too drunk" to be there before FOUR of them escorted me out. A bar with 200 people drinking and after two drinks I was "too drunk". Terrible, racist establishment.

The Boardwalk DC: what do users think?

April: 3 stars based on service, I’d give the bar/atmosphere a 4 since the games are great. Visited on a Wednesday night, the bartender upstairs only had one other customer and we had to ask call over to get his attention after he didn’t take our order for a good 10min. The arcade games downstairs are really cool (I recommend heading straight downstairs if you visit) there is a bar down there too.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at The Boardwalk DC, April. I'm sorry to hear that we didn't meet your expectations. We strive to provide a great experience for all of our guests and it sounds like there were some service issues during your visit. I'll make sure the bar staff are aware of these concerns so they can ensure they're providing an excellent level of customer service in future visits. If there's anything else we could have done, please let us know!

Bad Bunny: The menu online is completely different than the one in the restaurant. Please update your website to reflect accurate items and prices. Online it says that for happy hour, the popcorn is free, when it’s really $3. That rail drinks are $5 but it’s really $7.

Mariana Sucre: Had such a great experience at boardwalk because of this server named Saige. She made me the best margarita after i didn't love the house one and was super accommodating and super sweet. Great employee pick!

Emma Rentz: I love this place! I used to go to Iron horse, but I like Boardwalk much more. The cocktails on tap are so smart and taste great. The staff can be hit or miss, but I still enjoy it.
Response: Emma, thank you for your feedback! I'm so glad to hear that Boardwalk DC is your favorite place in town. We're also lucky to have a great team of bartenders who are passionate about making drinks and happy to see our guests enjoying them. As always, we'll keep an eye out for any staff members who need some coaching around providing excellent service and will take care of it. I hope you'll come visit us again soon!

emely: Received the best service ever here from Sparks! As an out of towner, he was so knowledgeable and had the best customer service skills. He catered to what I was looking for and helped me have the best experience in DC as a tourist!

Joseph Tordella: Boardwalk Bar and Eatery has a Jersey Shore theme in their upstairs bar with a food menu of hotdogs, popcorn, and ice cream sandwiches. The downstairs bar maintains the same look and feel of the old Iron Horse with tons of video and bird games. Large beer menu.
Response: Thanks for the great review, Joseph! We look forward to seeing you again.

Jo Alex: Great location for a team event (just about a block from the Capital 1 Arena). The ability to bring in outside food was definitely a plus. Drinks were priced well, and there was a selection of games available for everyone! The staff were also great!

Wesley Schriver: Way too expensive, sorry excuse for a barcade. There aren’t many games to play, it’s more of a bar with a couple arcade games with extremely expensive drinks.

Zach Gebhardt: Concept is neat, but just like a lot of places in dc the price of a beer outside of happy hour is the cost of a decent 6 pack at the store. Just significantly cheaper to have friends over and drink
Response: Thank you for your feedback Zach. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our concept and we're sorry to hear that the pricing was not what you were expecting. As a new establishment in DC, we have been working hard on finding the right balance of price point for both locals and visitors alike. Our goal is to create an environment where people can come and enjoy themselves without breaking their wallet!

Matthew Zagwodzki: We had a great time after a game at capital one arena. It has a fun basement with some cool games like air hockey and arcades like ski ball. My favorite was an old throw back from when we were little with a twist- conect 4 basketball!
Response: Hi Matthew, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your experience with us!

Across the Pond: what do users think?

Mark Darwin: Low key bar with a great selection of beers on tap. Didn’t try the food, but the options looked good.

Gina Elliott: I had my fathers 60th birthday here. The booking of the event was easy and the menu that was provided was great. The waiters and bartenders were quick and friendly. We had a chance to meet the owner while we were there and he was friendly and appreciative. I Love to support local business and I’m glad to have them in the city.

Amanda Casillas-Gallegos: Delicious Fish and Chips. Thick and great tasting!! Also tried the Cornish beef and macaroni w/cheese. Tried their Mango Beer, my son tried a Guinness and we LOVED IT!! Be careful menu does not show pricing!!

Jessica Flowers: Nice place for a drink in the late afternoon/early evening. I was easily able to get a seat at the bar for a couple of drinks and listen to the guys behind the bar talk about Derry Girls. Still couldn't find anything about season 4, but nice place. I can't believe I never tried it when I lived on Connecticut Ave a few years ago.

Jasmine Kaidbey: Watched the caps game here and will definitely be back. Very friendly and welcoming staff, prompt service, nice game atmosphere. Menu offers lots of options beyond the quality of your average sports bar. Glad to have tried it out!

Joshua Worthey: Great bar with great atmosphere and great food. We descended upon this place this last weekend. They didn't realize the convention was happening but overcame the issues as they piled on. This will be my go to when in DC from now on. Smaller place so not too crazy or loud.

Peter Pellegrino: Across the Pond is an awesome place! Service was spectacular and the food was authentic and out of this world. They always have so many options for sporting events on the tv’s. Their live music is always good and the speaker system sounds amazing.

Patrick Savoia: Came here for F1. Had no race specials and their brunch specials ended at 1pm. The food itself was passable at best and my cheese fries were clearly sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. A table next to us never even get their food after waiting nearly 90 minutes.
Response: Patrick, Thank you for your feedback. You happened to come into Across the Pond under irregular circumstances. We had cook no-show yesterday and by the time we were able to get another cook to come into work, the kitchen already had 25-30 tickets of food orders. Unfortunately, it took most of race for the kitchen to get caught up with orders. We have over 4.5 stars for our food and I’m happy to offer you a discount on your next meal to show you why we have such great reviews for our food. Thank you, ATP managment

Jim Laurenson: An oasis in the storm! Literally, it was storming and I was on my bike, so I Googled the nearest pub and found this excellent pub. Didn't look like much from the outside, but I persevered, found lots of nice people -- both guests and employees -- had a couple of excellent brews, and onion rings to die for!

Rita S: Drinks were inexpensive, fills up quickly when games are on so get there early

Boardwalk Bar & Arcade: what do users think?

Moshi B: Visit this place today and it was decent! I don’t suggest taking your kids here because it’s not much of a selection of games for kids. This is like an adult place to chill maybe off the late night. The menu is Bobby Basic. Hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels, cotton candy and corn dogs. Felt like I was at a carnival. All the drinks are damn near on tap. The best thing was the fish tacos. They were seasoned very well but just wasn’t enough. The serving was for a child. I don’t know their hours but this is like the after after spot. Like if you don’t want the night to end and don’t want to bring them back to your spot.

Hilda Kroll: Opened just a few weeks ago, it's still a work in progress. Everything is shiny and new and the staff is really nice. The food is just okay right now, but very affordable compared to most other restaurants on the waterfront. My Carnival Cuban, however, was really good and spicy and loaded with meat. A good option for those on a budget.

Martin M: Went to check out this new “trendy” bar yesterday and it was just that…..a trend. I do appreciate the idea they went for but I don’t feel it will be sustainable in the high end area. The bar staff was nice and I didn’t try the food because we had dinner prior to coming but it looked fun and carnival like. There is a few games spread out in what looks like they were just trying to fill space. The decor is cute and had lots of TVs which will be great for sports. I know this is just my opinion but with such a beautiful space on the wharf I feel like a better concepts could have been utilized.

Corey R: Not a bad spot to stop in and let the kids entertain themselves. Food menu is basic... so don't plan on getting a good meal here. The corn dogs taste microwaved.... so sorry folks... the basic food isn't even done right. The drinks aren't bad... they have cocktails on tap here. Try the flight if you can't decide which one you want. Just meh.

Carmine Giattino: Cool place to stop by, have a few drinks and play some arcade games. They have a good selection of beers. Friendly staff.

Fredo X: I'm a bit of an arcade conissuer and I'd suggest this place take the arcade part out of their name. The fortune telling machine didn't deliver a fortune. When we got there, the skee ball was being worked on sadly. These aren't the reasons I gave this place 3 stars though. Two of the biggest gripes I had with this place was that most of the cabinets weren't authentic, for example, the 20th anniversary cab for Galaga and Ms Pacman was gutted to be used for a mediocre multicade. The other was that Street Fighter Championship edition was being used instead of the standard Turbo edition. The bar aspect of this place is sweet though, I love the beer menu, and the staff was quick, hospital and efficient, can't say anything for the food though as i didn't try any.

Giuliana Porco: I would highly recommend this location for hosting events. We held a birthday party for roughly 15 people and the venue was perfect. The tables are large enough to provide ample space for mingling. Also, the staff was attentive and took great care of our party. The arcade games were an added bonus, and they were relatively cheap. Great for a casual large group gathering!

Samantha Elizabeth: Boardwalk Bar & Arcade is a beach-theme bar with arcade games located on the Wharf. I came here for a birthday party and we had a table reserved for 20 people. You had to get a game card if you wanted to play games. The claw machines were rigged. I'll admit that ordering from QR code was a bit confusing and it was easy to order on someone's tab within the party. It was nice that they have happy hour on the weekends. Our party enjoyed both food and drinks. The Cotton Candy Collins was rather disappointing as it didn't really taste like cotton candy or was served with cotton candy. My favorite drink was the Nutty Palmer, which consisted of bourbon, peach, lemon, and black tea shaken and served over the rocks. I decided to get the Soft Baked Pretzel and Corn Dog. The Pretzel was served with honey mustard and beer cheese dipping sauces while the Corn Dog was served with honey mustard and ketchup. Between the two food items, I enjoyed the Corn Dog more.

Victoria Nguyen: I've been to the Boardwalk Bar and Arcade a number of times now, and hosted two large socials here. Both events have been a success thanks to the ease in working with the Better Hospitality Group team. They're so accommodating with our needs and requests, and the day-of staff are super nice and friendly, and patient with us. I highly recommend you come here to beat the heat with some fun games and frozen drinks, as well as for any socials or large gatherings you need a venue for.

Leah Frelinghuysen: I hosted a party for 25 people today. The service was terrible. We waited forever for the servers to clear between courses and they were so unhappy to be there. We waited for drinks. Ordering and getting drinks in an expedient manner is so basic. The Sprite tasted like water. Nothing was working at 11am when the restaurant is supposed to open. At 11:45am, the sodas still tasted like water or some fashion of a drink that was nothing like what we ordered. I don't know why they advertise that they accommodate private events when clearly they don't have competent staff to do so. The food is also very average. The corn dogs were disgusting. The batter not fully cooked around the hot dogs. Sugary. Why would anyone go here?

Church Hall: what do users think?

Carla Olivares: Went to a lecture about the six wives of Henry VIII, and I love it! Unfortunately they did not have the food/appetizers menu available, and the beer I got was flat flat. I would come back if they have any other lectures/events.

Betsy Dohrer: We recently held our wedding welcome drink reception at Church Hall and it was perfect. Before the event, the team was great to work with and was accommodating and responsive to our questions which allowed us to create an event that truly felt like us. We worked with a lot of wedding vendors and this does not always happen but Elliot was levels above the other vendors! On the event day our guests loved the space and the mix between tables and lounge areas. They even had the TVs on so guests enjoyed watching the NBA games. We recommend Church Hall as a venue for any event you want in the heart of Georgetown!

Elmer E. Orellana: Our bartender Mario was AMAZING! He was super attentive, amicable and overall a great mixologist! The place is a beer hall with make your own cocktails. Mario crafted a delicious margarita, ask for “Mario’s Margarita” it was delicious. Great atmosphere with fun games and great bar food!

Lauren Patton: I went to Church Hall last week with my family and we had a blast! We played games for almost an hour and they had a nice beer selection. The bartender was amazing and won my daughter this stuffed animal in the claw machine! You don’t get better service than that! This place is amazing!

Chris Lundquist: They closed the entire establishment for a private event for an entire Saturday with no notice. Ruined an entire evening for a large group of friends who were visiting the city and excited to try Church Hall out. Really unfortunate.

carlos costa: We were a big group of international students just trying to have fun. They wouldn’t let us in just because we had international ids and they would only accept US ids. I am sorry that I wasn’t born in your country. We were all very offended by the way they treated us just because we weren't from the US. Their bar was completely empty and they would still not let us in.

Marwan: Excellent all around experience. Good selection of drinks, good food, solid service. Cool underground setting with couches and high chairs. TVs line the walls playing sports. Great for group settings, highly recommended.

Kelly Dietrick: Its just bar food, but its well prepared.

Matt Peppes: Great atmosphere and a really good beer selection! There isn’t table service so you order and pick up your drinks at the bar. You have your pick from couches to high top tables but the best part is they have games throughout the entire place. Games that can be played where you’re sitting, thought that was a really cool idea!

Stefan Simic: We had an outstanding and amazing experience last night. Bartender was truly amazing, knowledgable and dedicated - he made us couple of delicious cocktails! I believe his name is Elliot! We will be back!

Sudhouse DC: what do users think?

Charli Knows How To Eat: Stopped by here randomly with a friend of mine. We had been bar hopping all night and needed a quick pick me up for brunch. The bartender was very friendly and informative. He suggested I get the tacos which were probably the best ones I’ve had in dc this far. And the prices were fairly cheap for the quality of food and drinks we received. It’s a cute little bar with indoor and outdoor seating.

kareem shaban: Great dive bar with awesome bartenders and a cozy 3rd floor event space, and decent happy hour pricing. I've attended several birthday parties that used the 3rd floor space and they allow you to decorate and have a fun dance party! Their bar food is also tasty for the price/style of bar, and we regularly get their chili when we go for happy hour.
Response: 😍 thank you !!

Joshua Kappel: I recently hosted a birthday event at Sudhouse and had a great experience. From the communication beforehand to the day of, everything went smoothly. The atmosphere was great, cheap drinks and food, my friends and I had a fun night all around. Will definitely book another event here in the future!

Shankar Kulumani: Great bar on U street. Plenty of space to get drinks or hang out with friends.Top floor is great for cornhole

Natalie Kitzrow: This is the best neighborhood bar! I love the staff and great food and that it’s so easy to just stop in for happy hour on any random day. Grab dinner, a shot, and great conversation. Ask the owners about the free party room - I hosted a party here recently and I’ll be back!

Enitan Falana: The Late night menu is great, Tacos, mozzarella sticks, inexpensive beers and shots, a laidback atmosphere. Bartenders are really nice and friendly !! Down to earth owner, definitely a neighborhood favorite. Some outdoor sitting & Upstairs is has enough space to host a private parties or small event
Response: Thank you!!

Andrew Jreige: It's a sports bar with multiple TVs. We were looking for a place to watch the baseball while on U st and we were happy to have found this bar. There's a large selection of drinks and I was able to try a bunch of different beers I had yet to try in DC since being there. The bartenders were up for a chat every now and again and they made sure we always had something to drink which definitely kept us happy. My partner ordered a fried sampler which had a bunch of different fried foods including mozzarella sticks and chicken wings. The items were delicious but it did feel like a lot after eating only half. I'd recommend it as a snack for at least three people unless you think you're good with fried foods in which case order one for yourself!

El Simmons: It's a bar, and the food is bar food. Simple as that. Not the worst burger I've ever had, but not very tasty either. Fries are sad but they fill you. Good draft selection.
Response: Lol! Thanks

Brit Number: Best happy hour - great patio

Mallory Waton: Excellent location ... Just the right amount of people watching, bars and music. 3rd floor is a great place to have a party S well.
Response: Sweet! Thanks

Crystal City Sports Pub: what do users think?

Veronique Benhayoun: This place is ✨ different ✨. There's a barber shop. A bar, pool tables, it's 3 stories and it has A LOT going on. I had the bourbon chicken and shrimp and my son had the seafood pasta. The food was good but the sauce on my chicken was very sweet. Not bad just unexpectedly sweet for a chicken dish. Everything was ok until I got to the last thickest piece of my chicken and I felt like it was slightly undercooked so I didn't eat it. Service was good and friendly. We also had dessert and that was good too. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and we're happy and full when we left.

Colin Congo: I’ve always liked CCSP but after experiencing the 3rd level of the restaurant, I now love it. The food is solid, service is always quality, atmosphere and environment is great. A ton of TVs to help you enjoy whatever event you’re looking to enjoy. Now that I live in Arlington, I find myself here much more often and I highly recommend it as the go-to sports bar if you’re looking for one in Arlington.

Ron “WhatThe” Heck: Rating this 5 stars on the Reuben alone. It was sliced thin, piled high, tender, juicy and grilled to perfection! Sorry no photo but take my word for it, I order it often wherever I go and this was one of the best I've ever had and reasonably priced too. Update: photo added!

Ryan M: Great selection of beer and the beer chili is awesome.I was not a fan of the old fashion they made. The bartender put a fruit cocktail at the bottom of it. Other than that it was a great experience.

Suzanne Derringer: A deservedly popular restaurant/pub with a warm friendly atmosphere. TV screens are everywhere but don't intrude on conversations at tables. I visited for the first time last weekend and had amazingly rich Beef Vegetable Soup and a tender grilled Pork Chop with Rice and Veggies - all cooked perfectly. Genuinely friendly service. GO !!!

Gary W: The owner (one of them) comes and shakes your hand and ask for your name. He also says welcome. Classy move. The food is great and so are the patrons. I had the french onion soup and the french dip. Both were great! When I'm back in town, I'm definitely visiting here to watch the games and to eat. Come here! You won't regret it. Oh! I'm not sure if this is the usual here, but they had an all you can eat breakfast buffet (it was a Sunday). Not sure if that is a regular occurrence but for 19.99 the spread was awesome with a waffle and omelette bar!

Timothy Mercer: Ok so I've been here a few times and tonight I met two of my former staff here. As always, the service was exceptional; the staff know how to treat you just like family, which enhances the experience. The food was AMAZING, great prices, phenomenal taste and this time I had to get my dessert to go. I recommend anything on the menu! This place deserves a visit, I promise you won't be disappointed. Oh and I managed to take pictures before devouring the food. Enjoy!

Inus Patton: I love this place!!! Food is delicious and the service is swift!! Everytime I come to DC I have to get my eat on, everything on the menu is good.

Bayou Vixen: 1/2 off burgers on Monday. But they shouldn't be medium mines was dripping red juice.... But the French fries were amazing.

sdgainesdc: Gets really busy on the weekends with football. Highly recommend getting there before your game. Decent bar food. Recommend winds and nachos. Staff is pretty good considering the amount of people in there at any given time.

Simple Bar and Grill: what do users think?

Dani Weissman: I love this place! Monday night jazz is absolutely rockin'! Super friendly staff, great food, and cool art on the walls. I also love hanging in their back patio during the set break. The pizzas in particular are superb. It's the kind of place where you walk in and feel immediately welcome. The whole place has a very intimate feel.

Teanna Abraham: The Husband and I went on a whim looking for a place to dance. We drove by and I was immediately turned all the way off. It looked like a scary, whole in the wall time forgot from the outside. Man was I so wrong! It was vibrant and lively . The drinks were decent crowd was cool and DJ on FIYAH! We found our new spot on Saturday nights. We are over 40 and house music heads. Most of the folks there fit the same description. However anyone would feel welcomed.

Alexandra Wisbiski: I am rarely in this part of town, but when I am, Simple is the perfect place to relax and grab a bite and a drink! The people are so welcoming and take good care of you. I love the salchipapas and quesadillas, but you can't miss with anything on the menu! I also loved the mango margarita. I definitely recommend sitting on the back patio- in the age of outdoor dining, the large tables and umbrellas make it easy to relax and stay a while!

Sharon Jackson: I really enjoyed myself....I don't do a lot of comedy shows especially on a Sunday evening! I had a great time along with my Beautiful Cousins! I Will differently visit the place again! The ppl and vibe was really nice!💋

Tania Briceno: This is the best restaurant and best bar in this section of Georgia street. Unexpected to us. Their cocktails are all made with fresh, top quality ingredients and so is their food. We had the carne asada sandwich and the pizza and they were delicious. Great service, great atmosphere (lighting and music) and a fun patio for kids to hang out

Ivy Pearson: This place is a hidden gem. The food was delicious and the restaurant has good vibes and delightful staff.

Jenifer Golson: It is a great place! Delicious fresh food! I love the mussels in marinara sauce. They have several big screen TVs where you can watch any sports or even any program you want. The owner comes out to personally greet you. A jewel in the DC Brightwood neighborhood!

Aarti Bansal: The name describes the bar perfectly - Local Watering hole with decent drinks and food. My fiancee wanted to catch a football game (there are 5 screens!) and grab some food. I enjoyed a glass of the house red and nachos with guacamole. I sampled the mysterious sangria in the large pitcher and it's as good as it looks, skip it. Mustafa, our server and part owner, was friendly and nice. Although the place isn't fancy and doesn't have very nice seating or decor, I can see why the locals like to come here.

Hugh Lawrence: Went here on a whim. I was very pleasantly suprised. Ping pong, good music, etc. The owner, Will, is super cool, the food is good, the artwork on the wall is amazing (even the bathroom is cool) and the customers are cool. Seriously, you'd be insane to give less than 5 stars. Not paid to say this. Just a fact. It's solid. BTW, the beer selection complaint? They literally have 40 beers.

Angie Whitehurst: Day or night, a great place to get away from the daily grind.Handicapped accessible. Simple easy stress release: color book sheets and crayons are at each table to help one, Chill and cool out before placing an order. The menu suits both vegan and non vegans. The salads are savory and beautifully presented. Open and airy inside decor, with a wide open spaced bar and what grabs you is the music, the friendliness of the staff and the camraderie of local patrons, friends and groups congregating. If you are a night hawk, and want to dance the night away, this is the place!

The Rooftop at The Ven at Embassy Row: what do users think?

farida popal: I was there on Saturday the 25th. We wanted to go to the rooftop bar. As soon we were at main entrance, the door man greeted us and guide us. When we went to the bar the atmosphere was nice. The drinks were a bet pricey and bar food was great! I’ll defiantly go again.

chrisy edme: The stay was wonderful! The staff at the front desk are amazing ! Specially Lyle at the front desk, he was just a sweetheart to us. We booked our stay prior to them implementing the daily amenity fee. He waived it off of our stay and informed us that he will be more than happy to still provide the perks ! We received some sent sachet of jasmine and lavender which were amazing :) In addition to that he provided us with late check out because our flight was later in the afternoon. He also gave us some great tips of how to get around since it was our first time in DC. Also my room was provided with daily housekeeping and my housekeeper was just a sweetheart too but forgot her name unfortunately. My only Con was the bathroom size, as it was super small and there was no ventilation.

Kimberly “ ” Watson: Excellent! Love the space! The art exhibit in the hotel was wonderful!

D Nguyễn: This bar on the top of the hotel with a pool has a nice view of the city. Not that DC has much of a skyline. The pool is nice to relax after a day of exploring the museums. We went during the day for a couple drinks during Pride. We also came back in the evening before dinner for pre-drinks. It wasn't crowded. A couple people in the pool. The bar as a selection of food and cocktails. The bar service was friendly. Drinks are about what I expect from a hotel roof bar.

Neil Osment: Our review is split between the cocktail bar and the rooftop bar.....because the rooftop is actually closed for the season!! Not very helpful that this fact isn't advertised on Google or TripAdvisor by the hotel. However, the cocktail bar is very good, and Jorge (The Guru from Peru!!) is excellent. Friday evening (10/20/17 USA not GMT!) in the main bar was lively, vibrant and a great place to be 😊

Don Robinson: The bartender said it was a "soft opening" for the season. The drinks were very limited. No regular Red Bull (but lots of flavors of Red Bull), no Coke- only Pepsi, and not diet, and many other limitations. He gave us a free drink because he started to make the Jack and diet Pepsi but couldn't finish when he realized no diet Pepsi. The service was very good, and presumably they will have more options when they "really" open. The rooftop area was pretty basic, as I expected from the reviews, but the views of the city were nice. You could hear a little of the street music from Dupoint occasionally. This is not a destination, but was a great hour stopover between dinner and our Improv comedy show.

jo n: Visited on a Saturday late afternoon. When the bartender was asked about happy hour he claimed there wasn't one. Although the sign at the hotel lobby clearly stated there was one from 4-7pm. Based on quality, the drinks are super overpriced. The rooftop itself is small, an okay view. Don't waste your time visiting.

Reuben Wauyo: This is a beautiful venue and would seem to be all great but terrible customer service. Called for a reservation and information on restaurant and was referred to main line. To which someone picked up after I waited on hold, heard me then hung up. This is the most disrespectful and frustrating thing I can think of when trying to get things set for events. Calling back no one picks up and I have now been calling main line for 30 minutes to be assisted and again no one to answers. You would have to be crazy to work with these guys on anything important for you will receive absolutely no clarification or answers on any questions you have. I was very surprised to even see positive reviews at all. I really hope it’s an isolated event, but if I can help anyone else not deal with my issue I’ll be glad to steer you away and onto another location. I will update with location and name after my reservation is set with our new venue. Also to be noted, not even the central main line can reach these guys and are unwilling to even try. I believe we’ve definitely dodged a bullet.

Walter Hunt: Friendly staff , great location, very accommodating

Ariel Abramson: Nice view and plenty of seats, but they close early and there isn't much of a drink selection. My beer selection tapped out the keg but the nice bar server gave it to me at no charge.

Dudley's Sport and Ale: what do users think?

kenneth denmark: This place appearance is nice. The guy at the front door was very welcoming. It was a great environment to watch a game.....but, I was there 25 mins and nobody serviced me. I looked the waitress dead in the face multiple times and she didn't even acknowledge me. I had to go to the bar and get my own drink. The bartender told me the waitress was probably slammed. He tried to cover for her... the place was not even pack! I got my drink and went back to my seat and another guy came and sat next to me. He too was waiting more than 20 mins to be served. Everybody else was getting served. Even a couple that sat down 15 mins after me. Another waiter from another section ended up taking our orders... he was great. Our waiter never came over. We was there 3 hours... it was an old blond white lady. I will come here again, but I will not sit in her section again.
Response: Kenneth, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We will address this with our management team. Please send us your mailing address so we can send you a gift card for your next (hopefully much better) visit to Dudley's. info@dudleyssportandale.com

Nate B: This place was busy for NFL games on Sunday. Service was good. They have some good brunch drink specials. Had the pizza and kids meal. They had all the games. I would definitely recommend this place.

Paulo: Awesome place. Great atmosphere. Great food and service was friendly and on point. The layout is incredible wish there where more around like this.

Ben M: I honestly think this place is one of the cooler sports bars I've been to in the area. The vibe is always really great on game days and the location is too, albeit a bit short on parking at times. The food is pretty typical sports bar food. It's rather expensive as is expected inside the beltway, but the portion sizes are solid unlike its competitors. Food quality is great on some stuff and average on others, but if you know what to get you're in good hands. Service can be very slow and make mistakes if the place is packed so plan accordingly. It's normal when there's a ton of people ordering at once and they're human, so no sweat, but just be prepared. Long story short, this is a great gathering place on game days with a unique vibe, with decent enough food and portions to share. Yeah, it's not perfect, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. I just wish there weren't so many Penn State fans, though I'll be damned if the vibe isn't electric on PSU game days lol

Tom P: Big spacious sports bar, with lots of televisions, including a theater room for special events. Standard bar fare, burgers, wings, subs, tacos and pizza. The service was quick and friendly, but the food was underwhelming. Fries were greasy tasting. Burger was pretty good. Wings were average. Update: went back and tried the pizza, and it was fantastic! Menu says they use "Fresh Tossed Dough". Gotta say the dough was absolutely perfect. That said, the service was very poor. Update: Third time back, this time I had the Turkey Club with Tots. It was excellent. But once again, the service was poor, in fact I'd say it was terrible. I'm knocking off one star for two straight visits with really bad service.
Response: Tom, Thanks for the great review! We're glad you enjoyed your experience and hope that you come back and give our food another shot! We would love to send you a gift card for your next visit. Please email your mailing address to: info@dudleyssportandale.com

Catrina Dusch: I have been coming to Dudley’s now since it opened and can’t believe I have yet to leave a review. The food is always really tasty for a sports bar. This last time I did the cheesesteak sandwich and it was really enjoyable. My friends and I sat at the bar and the bartenders were very attentive. I usually prefer the rooftop which is a great spot when it is warmer.
Response: Catrina, Thank you so much for the great review! We're so glad you've become a regular at Dudley's and appreciate you supporting our business. Please email us your mailing address so we can send you a gift card for your next visit: info@dudleyssportandale.com

B Wilson: The only reason I'm giving them a 3 is because of those gold rush wings and our server. The wings were crispy and that sauce was delicious. The drinks were not good (the orange crush and the peach margarita adult pouch)and if you like seeing bugs crawling around and on you this is the place to go.

Charles Louis Cedeno: Food and drinks were great but service was terrible. If your waiter is the big guy with tattoos wearing a child’s medium just turn around and leave because he’s useless. He just talks to coworkers and plays on his phone the whole time while everybody else works. We were there for an hour and had to ask another waiter for refills on drinks and to go box because he never came back.

Edmund Arellano: Awesome place to watch a game. The food is surprisingly good and the vibe is pretty cool, especially on game nights.
Response: Edmund, Thanks for the great review! We'd love to send you a gift card for your next visit. Please send us your mailing address: info@dudleyssportandale.com

Connor Hutteball: Love this place! It’s roomier than most sports bars in the DMV and the weekly specials are great value. The food/service is awesome from my experiences!

Jaleo by José Andrés: what do users think?

Dallaire Family: The Sangria Hour is well worth it, as the cocktails and tapas are well priced. Tapas portions are large and shareable among friends that want to sample a few dishes. Classic flavours and quality you can count on. Dishes are not terribly creative, but the service is quick with minimalist communication.

Ciria Gastélum: Everything about this place screams quality. Food, location, drinks, service and workers. Delightful experience! One of my favorite places. Unbelievable paella! Must try! My husband & I were super happy We found Jaleo in our visit to DC.

Hazel Schifferle: I brought my family here to celebrate my recent birthday. We arrived late in the afternoon and got a great table by the window. They were so kind to my kids and made us all feel welcomed. Our server recommended some things the kids would enjoy and he was right. My husband and I got Jose’s Way and tried all sorts of dishes. We loved them all!

Katie Boldizar: We ordered family style here and easily tried 10 different menu items. Everything was incredible! This will become a staple for me on future DC visits. I wish I would've taken more pictures but we were busy eating. The calamari was probably my favorite dish!

Merissa Pemberton: So glad we tried this restaurant out! Wow!! Tania Fernanda G was such a stellar waitress! She was attentive and was really patient with walking us through the menu. Her professionalism and constant smile on her face was just the kind of dinner atmosphere we were looking for. She also made sure to pace our meal just right and every single dish we ordered was beyond good. There were multiple items I don’t think we would have had the guts to try if it weren’t for her. She deserves both the recognition and raise that is now clearly apparent from our experience. Thank you again Fernanda!!

Vance Van Horn: Tables inside were so close together that you were intimate with your neighbor. Sit outside; tables and service was great.

Robert Cox: Came with my girlfriend to Jaleo and it was really good. First time to a restaurant like this Eduardo enhanced this experience by providing us great recommendations and his great personality. With the great food, great ambiance, and great service from Eduardo, I give this place 5 stars for sure.

michael leathers: Outstanding food and serving staff. Had the Apple and Fennel Salad, the Mini Pork Burger, the Bacon-Wrapped Dates, Goat Cheese Stuffed Peppers and the Cod. Fritters with the Sweet Bay Gin cocktail to wash it down. Everything was absolutely out of this world although the Cod Fritter did not impress me all that much. The Apple Fennel Salad was one of the best salads I ever had in my life- although it looks bland, it is acting packed with sweet, tart, savory and acidic flavors. Only knock I have for this establishment is the hosting/seating staff who didn't do the best job handling a crowd full of line cutters trying to get a seat. Would definitely go back though!

Christina C: We got the brunch experience tasting menu and pitchers of white sangria. The courses were amazing and we left so satisfied and happy! The bar staff were very helpful, fun, and professional. We will be back. I’ll be dreaming of the tuna tartare forever.

Cindy Yang: Brunch is okay. Shrimp is too salty;baked egg claims to have iberico but I can barely see or taste the iberico. It falls under our expectations a bit
