Capitol Square BNB: what do users think?

Evan R: The good: -Great big kitchen with two ovens, three refrigerators, two dishwashers, and everything you need to cook. -rooms have private toilets/showers (huge plus. Never seen it in a hostel before) -good location close to metro, some cafes, and grocery. -a bit cluttered at the entrance, but overall very clean and comfortable. -a shared laundry room. -tv with netflix, hulu, apple tv The bad: -not much really. Could feel some tension among staff, but that's pretty normal when you work with others. It's an okay place for an okay price. I'd consider coming back.

ᄀᄌᄋ: I do not really understand why only three reviews were here so far. This is just an amazing place. Very close from downtown and convenient transportation, at the same time very quiet outside unlike the hotels in the downtown since it is just at the midst of normal residence. Very close to a nice market closing at 12 a.m. We can use the refrigerator and cook, the dish washer. Very clean and everything is kept perfectly. The quiet rule is very nice at night. The free breakfast is not just a toast but includes some bakeries made by the bussiness owner who might be in the age of moms of teenagers. Pretty friendly environment and privacy is respected. If I have chance to visit D.C. again, I will definitely come here again. With half price of hostels in downtown, I can enjoy much more things than there.

Beauti Dreamer: a really great place to stay while in dc, everything is minutes away from downtown. the place is always spic and span. I really felt comfortable in this place, they give complimentary breakfast every morning and the linens are always clean, you meet great people here and the rooms are a great size comes with your own bathroom, and coded doors. so my things are secure with or without the coded door this place is so quiet that it feels like my home away from home, great customer service. whenever i come to dc i will always come here.

Khurram Hassan: Very conveniently located Airbnb right near the heart of the City. It is kind of run like a hostel. The staff are very efficient and quick with cleaning up the place and keeping certain snacks and kitchen tidy. There is a laundry washer and dryer but you have to pay $3 for dryer $1.50 for the washer. It's a great environment in the open kitchen table area lots of people from all over the world in the country sit and chat about stuff. I met people from Kenya, Brazil and the Congo. The rooms have bunk beds so it is kind of tight but they managed the cleaning of the spaces really well. They clean everyday and they're pretty strict about check-in and check-out because there are so many people going in and out of the house. The bathrooms are kept in really good shape but some of the guests can be messy.

Jatuporn Juyjingam: Capitalsquare BNB is ideal location close to Potomac Station and circulate bus, safe to walk in the night, hostel very clean and enough share bathroom to use. Check-in and check out very convenience host provided code to entry front door and main entrance in advance. You will meet many short/long teams stay in common area, kitchen fully equipment and everyone can cook their own food. Breakfast provides in the morning. Overall is very present stay at hostel. I'm totally recommend to stay when you visit DC.

Mandar Bokare: Pretty good place. The instructions for checking in and out and where everything is were clear and provided in advance. The dorms and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The minor concern I had was that the soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty and I didn't know whom to contact or where I could find extra supplies. (Booked the place via AirBnB).

aidan lang: While i dont mind staying in hostel type rooms this place is in a unsafe neighborhood and should not be a place to stay for those who are driving. Great breakfast though.

Tiffany Manchester: Wonderful host, room, dining, and company. Everything is always perfectly clean and if you ever need help or directions it is one question away.

abu jameel: Who can give me the postal code for this hostel? I really need it.

Greta R: Pros: convenient location, breakfast, cheapCons: cleanliness

Capitol Hill Stay - Veteran Owned Furnished Housing Temporary Extended Stay Washington DC Since 1997: what do users think?

Katie Wilkes: I stayed here for a month while house hunting. Fabulous, convenient location to everything you need. One of the best parts about the house is the private little courtyard/patio space out front. Stunning in the springtime. Capitol Hill Stay was attentive and extremely communicative the entire time. The neighbors were also so kind and helpful. But I have to say, it was the sincere thoughtfulness of the people who run this hospitality group that exceeded my expectations. Tragically, I lose my pup of 16 year unexpectedly while here (we were grateful to enjoy many days of gorgeous weather on that patio together). Upon check out and kind conversation with Phil, one of the staff members, the team let me know they had made a donation to a rescue organization in my pup’s honor. It brought me to tears. Stay with them if you can- I don’t think you’ll regret it.
Response: Thank you for the kind review Katie. We were very sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved dog but it makes us happy to know you enjoyed some time together there on the patio. Thank you again for staying with Capitol Hill Stay. Your stay (and others) are what helps us stay in business, pay our staff, cleaners, landscapers, etc, so on behalf of everyone we thank you very much.

Zach Powell: My wife and I have never been to a big city before. Coming from a small town in Kentucky, we were worried about coming to D.C. However, the owner (Brian) and Louise has been absolutely wonderful! The apartment was in a very safe and very upscale neighborhood. We were able to pay for a secure parking spot as well. Our neighbors were quiet and working professionals (always gone). If there were any questions, someone always answered them promptly via chat or text! I cannot reccomend Capitol Hill stay enough! If we are ever in DC again, we will be staying with them!
Response: Thanks Zach. It was a pleasure having you. We get a lot of people in from small towns and many later tell us Capitol Hill feels very much like a village within the big city, so it's kindof the best of both worlds.

ell bee: We recently had the opportunity to stay at one of the John Marshall House units on Capitol Hill. The unit was fabulous - the perfect size for a couple, stocked with everything you could need, and very clean. Location can't be beat - close to everything in the Capitol Hill area and a very safe neighborhood. Property owners were fabulous as well - great communication, and they provided us with helpful suggestions and tips. Would love to stay here again!
Response: Thank you so much. It was a pleasure having you. Please look us up if you need furnished housing in DC again.

michelle baum: We stayed at one of their properties in Eastern Market/Capitol Hill neighborhood In D.C in October 2021. They were very responsive and answered all our questions. We were able to have off street parking for a very reasonable price! Unit was beautifully kept, clean and had everything we needed. Quiet neighborhood and great area to have as base for DC travel. Would highly recommend staying with Capitol Hill Stay groups' properties. Support this great veteran owned business!
Response: Thank you Michelle. It was a pleasure having you. Please don't hesitate to look us up again if you need furnished housing in DC

Christopher Wagner: I almost don't want to write this because I don't want the competition the next time I look for a place to stay in DC. But everybody's got to make a living and the owners of Capitol Hill Stay have earned theirs, so I have to tell the truth - the place was fantastic. A great location, a great place, detailed and friendly communication from the host, a backyard to relax a bit in and a place to leave the car and not do the DC street parking shuffle. It was like having a dream home in DC and I hope we can luck into it again sometime down the line a bit...
Response: Thanks Christopher. You stayed in one of my favorite places. Very glad you enjoyed it. Don't hesitate to look us up the next time you need furnished lodging in DC.

Veronica Thomas: Location! Location! Location! What you sacrifice in size for a studio by the heart of the Capitol, you made up for it with location! The owners were responsive, the place was clean, and we felt very secure! We were driving in from out of town and took advantage of the parking space behind the building and don't regret it! We were able to see our vehicle from our window and access it easily! The neighborhood was quiet and it was a great launching point for our family of four!
Response: Thank you very much Veronica. It was a pleasure having you. Please don't hesitate to look us up again should you need short term lodging in DC.

Monika McDermott: Brian and Luis at Capitol Hill Stay are fantastic, as are their properties. We stayed at 823 A st NE, Apt 1, and had a wonderful time. The apartment was clean and surprisingly well-appointed. We were there for 5 weeks and the owners were attentive to our every need (not that there were many). We loved the neighborhood - Eastern Market is such a dream to have so close. I highly recommend this small company and their great and interesting apartments. Also, they're pet friendly!
Response: Thank you so much. We truly appreciate your business.

Leslie Vargas: My friend and I came to Washington DC for a girls trip to visit her daughter and my son, who is a student there. We loved the apartment from the first second we stepped into as it instantly felt like a home away from home. It is beautiful and well furnished with high ceilings and tall windows. The apartment is immaculate and every detail is attended to, including a coffee pot that makes delicious coffee and quality linens that are so comfortable after a long day of seeing the sites. It is located in a safe neighborhood and is a nice walk to The Eastern Market, independently owned boutiques, restaurants, a CVS and a wine shop. The apartment is so inviting that we decided to cook there one night and it was so convenient that the The Eastern Market is full of lovely fresh vegetables, fresh meats and a bakery. Outside the market were street vendors with quality goods to sell which was so fun to browse. I have found that where you stay can make such a difference in the tone of a vacation and this one certainly did. It was a such a wonderful time and I’m looking so forward to visiting DC with my husband and staying there again.

Diana Ogarkova: We visited Washington for a tourist trip as a family, and this house exceeded our expectations. It's an impressive historic 3-story townhouse close to Capitol. The location was perfect: the neighborhood is quiet, and at the same time close to everything. We liked that we could get everywhere by walking, at the same time we were away from the city noise. Space: it was nicely decorated with a homely feel and spacious, plenty of shared space and 3 bedrooms. I personally loved the books collection on the 2nd floor living room. Recommended: if you are in Washington and want to feel like a local :).
Response: Thank you Diana. That was my own home for 15 years, so I absolutely love it when others are happy with their stay there. I miss that house, and my dog really misses the park

leo sokolskiy: Great place to stay in Washington. Walking distance to the National Mall monuments and museums. Very comfortable and quiet location, parking spot is a great plus if you are driving in. Kitchen has all the utensils as well as washer and dryer. Brian and Luis are very accommodating and responsive.
Response: Thank you Leo. It was a pleasure having you. Please look us up again when you need furnished housing in DC

Bud and Breakfast: what do users think?

Charles Prescott: This was the most spectacular vacation in a very long time. The host was a total knowledge base for all things cannabis in the DC area. This is more than just a Bud and Breakfast. This is the experience of a lifetime. Definitely headed back as soon as possible!

Janet Roby: Wow! Wonderful host. Great location. An immersive 420 experience.

Brian Doubleday: I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this super well run place. Couldn't have been happier....

CRYSTAL THORNTON: We really like this place they already had Bud here when we arrived..... Room was nice and quiet.... The living room space is shared though..... But the room has everything you need snacks drinks bathrooms clean definitely a place I would come back to. So happy that we came and stayed here.....

Iyah William: Bud and Breakfast was amazing. My wife and arrived to a sweet house in the hipster part of town. There was a full bud bar for us to enjoy multiple flavors and even had a CBD infused massage. Our host knew of all the 420 related events happening in the area and we had the best time possible. Cant wait to return. Highly recommend!

Ty Stansberry: Very nice spot to rest your head and stay for a few days. The hostess was great and accommodating.

Catlin Barron: The host is very nice and helpful. House is spacious.

John Molchin: Everything was as promised!

Kris Norman: You gotta check this place out!

William Hanff: Very mello.

DuPont Place Boutique Inn: what do users think?

Maria Juncadella: I made reservations for 3 rooms over three months ago to go to Washington for my nieces graduation since I know it is a busy time and hotels get booked quickly. Yesterday I received a notice of cancellation for no reason for all 3 rooms and have been calling the hotel ever sense. I have left several messages as well as written emails to them for an explanation and nobody has had the decency to show face and give me one. As you can imagine this is extremely frustrating for us as well as the other members of our family since now, most hotels are booked. SO IF YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE YOUR VACATION PLANS STAY ON TRACK, DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. THEY SEEM TO NOT ONLY BE IRRESPONSIBLE BUT HAVE THE WORST SERVICE EVER.

T Plez: Lovely neighborhood, clean apartment, comfortable bed, our 8 yr old slept comfortably on the sofabed, helpful staff. The noise from outside disturbed me a couple of times, otherwise a perfect stay. Wish I could rate it 4.75 stars.

Aaron Stanton: I was at a conference down the street at the Hilton Washington paying several hundred dollars a night, and having to pay for extras like Internet. I went out for lunch one day, and came across the Gallery Inn while walking down the street about two blocks away. Out of curiosity, I stopped in, they said they had a room for $99 with free internet, and I took it. Location was great, seemed a good deal. They were full in the main in, so they offered me a room about a block down. It was fantastic! For that $99, I had clean, comfortable studio apartment, likely 700 square feet, with kitchen attached. The building was older and had the feel of a hostel, a bit, but it was a private entrance, bath, etc. The building had a lot of character, including a raised 13 or 16 foot ceiling, large bay windows, etc. I have no idea what their other rooms look like - perhaps I just lucked out because they were full elsewhere, but man, at this trip I really enjoyed myself. I was far more comfortable there then the Hilton, a third the price, and very worth it. I'm heading back to DC in the next few days, and have booked there again. Let's see if the experience is as good this time. Aaron

bridgeport stonewerks: stayed for 2 nights as a stop on a trip down south. pics looked good, host was pleasant and easy to contact. the troubling items came upon initial inspection of the room, where we noticed dust on several surfaces that we would expect to be clean, such as shelving above sink, top of fan blades, and the air vent in bathroom. the big discovery was the used condom/wrapper we found under the bed. while we did stay in the room as planned, we couldnt trust that the room was properly cleaned/sanitized prior to our visit. sandals in the shower, sleeping above sheets with some type of clothing on. im under no misconception about staying in a hotel, and think i have resonable expectations, but this experience, for me, was subpar.

Baran Koç: This hotel has no reception service. If you're an international traveler, make sure your phone reception works in the US. Because you have to call them to get the access code to be able to enter the building. By the way, don't expect to find the phone number anywhere visible at the entrance. So make sure you also saved their number in advance! Congrats, you made it inside the hotel and are welcomed by the musty air. The next challenge is to open your room by entering a code of 9-10 digits. Make sure you don't time out! Finally you're in your room after a long travel. Time to have a relaxing shower! You open the bathroom door and that amazing musty smell is even more warmly welcoming you this time. Anyway just hop in the shower. Oops, there are no bathroom products provided as promised (just a small shampoo hidden in the drawer, maybe left behind by the previous guest). So make sure you've got your own. You're staying maybe 7 nights, maybe less maybe longer... Doesn't matter,... in this hotel there's no such thing called housekeeping service. Not even worth mentioning the gap under your door bringing light into your room or wonderful vibrations waking you up in the middle of the night by your fellow hotel guests entering the building or wandering their room above you. By the way, if you're staying in studio #3, don't expect a pleasant panorama from your room window. What else you may want? The hotel of everyone's dreams! Pros: Good location and great WiFi signal. It was nice of the manager's husband to show up the first night to give me the WiFi password.

Maciej [mah-check] Kos: Good location and service. My room was OK but not great. Close proximity to a loud street makes it hard to sleep at times. Overall, pretty good value for the price.

Marcelo Pereira: Corteous staff, very nice and clean rooms.4 stars because if you stay in the ground floor, it is a bit noisy because of guests coming in and out and the close by street. Also, the breakfast is just ok.

S L: Great location. Recently renovated rooms with small kitchenette. Very clean and well maintained.

Logan Hurd: Great place to stay with clean and modern interior. Easy access to room and great location.

Georgie Márquez: Reminded me of a small European hotel with it's funky criss crossing stairs. Very clean and great location.

Oakwood Suites & Studios Dupont Circle Washington DC: what do users think?

Fredric Mitchell: Nice place. Went to a small wedding, which was intimate. Stayed in a suite in the courtyard. It was relatively quiet. Bed and pillows were not very comfortable. Continental breakfast was fine. Nothing too expansive. Location is nice and a lot of shops and food places around. Just would have preferred a more comfortable sleeping situation.

David Jarnitskii: Great check in, the guy at the front was super nice and gave us reccomendations. Location is good too. The rooms are quite spacious and very comfortable. We only stayed for 1 night but it was very nice. We would come back. Thanks!

Mark Slaughter: My first visit was very good. Very friendly staff, nice breakfast & common areas. I stayed in tower suite 3rd floor overlooking P street. Room was fine. Just needs bedside lighting & charging ports. Management says that's coming soon. I'll be back!
Response: Thank you for the great review of our hotel! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon.

Marta Nogué: Great place. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. What you see in the pictures is what you'll get. Location is great too. I'd definetly come back. The only feedback I'd give is to improve the sheets. The ones they have are very synthetic and uncomfortable.

Sivan Weizmann: Good check in, and the guy at the tiny reception desk was nice. Location is great and there is plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and attractions in a walking distance. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. And the building is beautiful. However, one big issue is that this is a 3 floor building and the reception is often unattended which makes me uncomfortable since anyone can come in as they please. In addition, if you are hoping to get a good night sleep than forget about it because except for the noise you get from DuPont circle, it also felt like we were sleeping in a dorm building. There were loud yelling and laughter noises ALL night long that kept us awake, and clearly can be heard EVERYWHERE throughout only 3 floors with the acoustic of an old building and no staff to address it. It is a shame, but unless some new reviews can indicate that 24/7 staff has been instated and availability and presence has improved, this will not be a place I’ll be coming back to.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of.

Jenna Peterson: The 2nd floor common rooms - kitchen, living room with bar service in the evening, and another room are wonderful places to hang out with a group or alone. The staff were all wonderful. Hot showers with plentiful water and lots of storage in the room. wifi was fast - didn't measure it, but worked during video calls, etc.. They let us store our luggage after check-out. Fabulous location within easy walking distance to subway and anything else you might need. Sound containment ok - we could hear the next door dog barking. Rooms average: uncomfortable sheets, only 2 hard pillows. no extra blankets, poor lighting - no bedside lights, dim overhead lights with switches in odd locations. not fully stocked when we arrived - had to ask for dishwasher and regular kitchen soap. no full length mirror in the room - I guess they figure you can go into the elevator when dressing! Breakfast of oranges, apples, bagels and a mass produced pastry only available between 7:30-9:30. Breakfast coffee maker and water dispenser were broken 3 of the days we stayed. No one mentioned they have a bar open during the evenings which could explain why we were the only clients (big upside to have the gorgeous common spaces to ourselves to hang out with friends and play games.)

Gabriel Rodriguez: While the facilities are gorgeous, and the location was spectacular, the service is lackluster. The continental breakfast consisted of a few pastries and cereal with some yogurt in the fridge. The front desk is frequently unattended, which is concerning. Moreover, I was asked “when are you going to check out” an hour before checkout by an attendant or manager who decided to knock on my door. In the rush, I left my coat, and called to retrieve it. The front desk said “check back tomorrow” and “good luck, I hope it’s there” when I said that I was instead going to check this evening. The service does not match the façade nor interior decor.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. Justin Ng: I was looking forward to staying at this hotel as I've passed by a few times and its exterior looks amazing - unfortunately the service doesn't live up to this and ended up causing a lot of time going to waste. Overall, I would suggest looking elsewhere. PROS: - Location, location, location (which is where the first star came from) - The hotel's exterior looks really nice - The room is clean and tidy (which is where the other star came from) CONS: - When we arrived at 3pm, we ended at waiting 15 - 20 mins before our room can be cleaned, so were just sitting in the lobby, waiting... - The wait happened again when we checked out at 11am (i.e. the time when everyone is checking out). We wanted to leave our suitcases behind, but no one was at the front desk, for 15 minutes. There are a few other tourists looking for the same, so it just ended up resembling a bunch of travellers waiting for a delayed train which is kind of funny to be honest. - No hairdryer in the room. My partner took a shower at 2:30am in the morning and realized there is no hairdryer in the room - called the front desk and they just said "sorry i cant' help" (?!?!). Took a look at my booking confirmation again - it lists hairdryer as an amenity so I'm not sure why. But she ended up not being able to sleep until 3:30am as we had to wait for her hair to dry. - The frontdesk team can be a hit or miss. Some of them are fine but a few of them are, to be honest, pretty rude. - They offer complimentary breakfast (which I didn't have - because it was only 7:30am - 9:30am and I haven't woke up), but a few other tourists I met in the lobby told me when they arrived 9am there's nothing left because it was "first-come-first served". So either be there (early) or be square.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. Noel Rubaker: Only good thing about staying here - clean hotel & room + new appliances & efficient housekeepers. Other than that, poor service from the receptionists. The only receptionist to depend on was Greg. Our first night, we checked in sometime around 6pm on a Thursday and was barely greeted by the woman receptionist for that shift. Unfortunately I did not get her name as 1) she did not introduce herself 2) no nametags (is this not a professional setting?). I was new to Washington and had some questions about the area to which she replied "I don't know. Use google." I tried to stay calm even though she was behaving ver dismissive and rude. I then asked her whether I could make any changes to the room from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor because I noticed the elevator for the disabled was not functioning. She shrugged and did not respond for several minutes. And then I mentioned again, I needed an elevator to get to the room. She simply answered "it is working." Apparently, there was another elevator but I had to ask 5 times until she finally explained where it was. Rude, lazy, & dismissive! The next day, we were unfortunate enough to be helped by another useless receptionist that again I failed to get the name. I am starting to assume they know they were bad at their jobs and does not want anyone to file a complaint against them. This time it was an older woman, working the weekend shift from morning until 3pm. I had asked for an extension for one more night because my travel plans got delayed. She took forever to sort the issue, and then decided to tell me that I can just come back and I won't have to pay for anything. I thought, this is odd. I have stayed at several hotels and usually, you are charged for an extension. AND they would ask for your hotel key cards to ensure you could go into your room. SHE DID NOTHING. later after her shift, I called again and got Greg. We were informed we had to pay extra BECAUSE we technically did not file an extension. I blamed the older woman and Greg apologized profusely on her part. THE NEXT DAY SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO ASK ME WHY I LOOKED ANGRY. I had to pay $2++ instead of $140. I have nothing against older employees, but perhaps train them more or get them supervised! Same like the young woman I was unfortunate with to have met. will be choosing another hotel or airbnb next time when I come back. I have never had such issues from any Marriott hotels.

Aránzazu Ascunce: Cion greeted us warmly upon arrival and as we departed he informed us on the history of the home and ownership. We would love to stay here in the near future!

The Quincy Hotel: what do users think?

Gabriel Slape: What a great value! Unique studio layout has seating area, a place to cook and eat! The kitchen has all needed equipment including a full size coffee pot. Room was super clean and the hotel looked to be in good shape overall. Close to all major attractions. We had no issues with the contactless check in, just setup the app at home before your arrival to avoid last minute headaches. Great to have luggage storage after check out until 10 pm. Laundry facilities on site cost 2.50 to wash and 2.50 to dry, soap provides. I was concerned due to low ratings on other reviews but my experience was A+

Jeremiah Johnson: Run away, this is AWFUL. Yes you, person reading this and considering staying here. DON'T. The decent score is a scam, all the good reviews are from years ago. This place is awful. There is no front desk, nobody will help you. There is no staff. Just to get help, you'll have to download their extremely sketchy app, upload photos of your personal documents, allow them to scan your face and send it to a shady Chinese biometric data harvester, and THEN they will deign to help you with customer support, after you wait on the phone for half an hour. The elevators barely work - you have to enter long codes to get it to go, and the machine doesn't accept a correctly typed code at least half the time. This whole process is incredibly infuriating and again, there is no staff. None exists, it's just an app. Which isn't designed well, doesn't have fast customer support, and requires you to ship your biometric data to shady Chinese tech companies. And the process is stupidly complicated for a place with no staff and no ability to quickly help. I would give a zero star if I could, horrible, horrible place. And to top it off, the rooms are terrible value for what you're paying. Just incredibly bad. Stay away.

Joshua Ritchey: Do not stay here if you value sleep, comfort, or customer service. Worst 3 nights sleep in a long time. Traffic sounds high, dumpster collection seemingly every hour, and sidewalk JACKHAMMERING right below the window all night long. This hotel is also completely internet controlled. You’ll check in and out through an app and never once see a human. Sounds novel until the AC doesn’t work and you have to get rudimentary instructions in a chat on how to open the panel to turn it in, AFTER the previous agent ghosted you twice. Amenities overall were fine, bed soft and kitchen was nice. Bathroom is rather small.

J: This is an unfair rating. And I say that because this is no fault to the hotel but because of my expired ID and the fact that they only communicate through an app - I wasn't able to stay. However, any other hotel with a human at the counter understood things have been crazy with covid and allowed me to stay.

fortune ee: To start, the rating here is much higher due to Sonder keeping the ratings from the original hotel, The Quincy. Not sure exactly when they took this building over but Sonder was founded 2014, no reason why they should keep ratings from 2008, kinda shady. The impression given by the photos did not match the quality of the room, the lobby, and common areas. The heater was on in the lobby on a warm day (low 70F), so we had to wait at a nearby shop for check in. When we checked in, we found that the bathroom had not been properly cleaned, with dust, hair, and mildew around the sink and toilet areas. We placed a request to have them cleaned that evening, but nobody came. Later that night, we realized a light was burnt out and the A/C in the room was only blowing hot air (on a warm day), and placed another request for the cleaning, light bulb replacement, and A/C to be looked over the next morning any time from 8am to 10am, which was a time offered to us by a Sonder representative (that night sleeping with our window open - which only opened about 2 inches - and very warm). Worst of all we could hear EVERYTHING from the room next door, due to the large gaps in the door. By 11am the next morning, we realized nobody had come again. By this time we had spoken with several representatives, but due to the interface of the app, there was no saved record of the chat conversations, and it would continually disconnect due to “connectivity issues” or because “something went wrong” whenever we were trying to place a request. Only one representative reached out via text to continue the conversation… Due to the interface as well, there is no record of the conversations that we were able to search, and we also were not able to back out and check other information without closing the conversation. Sometimes the new representative would go back and check our past records, and sometimes they would not, each time offering different resolutions, if any at all. By the next night, we decided to cut our losses and try to switch to a different hotel. We began asking to simply refund the rest of our stay, not even asking for a refund of the previous nights, and we could be on our way to a new hotel. This required several representatives to respond that they would “speak with management” and “call us back shortly”, only one of which actually did - but could not get a hold of management. Finally, after many disconnections and promises to call us back, one representative said it was no problem. They could refund the rest of our stay, we could check out at 11 the next day, and they were sorry for our experience. Unfortunately, their system connected us to two representatives at the same time, and as that representative was finally understanding of proper business etiquette, the other refused to allow us the refund. When we took a screenshot of the texts and sent them in the chat, the representative who allowed us the refund seemed to have been kicked off the chat, and we were back to square one. We ended up so dissatisfied with the experience, one which cost us almost an entire day of our short vacation, that we decided to move to a new hotel entirely just down the street (Yours Truly), without a refund. The experience was x1000 better, as we were immediately greeted with a friendly concierge, our A/C worked, and the photos matched the experience. For only slightly more the cost. We hope to never have to experience something like that again for the price we paid. The idea behind Sonder is interesting. The entire experience is through an app, which could make for an interesting experience. However, the implementation of the concept was poorly executed. I think we only saw one employee in the 3 days we were there. The lack of concierge should, in theory, provide more funds for a great experience.

Floriana Castro: I stayed at Sonder - The Quincy - Downtown DC. It is cute, the location is convenient, and the place felt safe. I really wanted to like this place, but I will not be staying there again. First of all, my sheets had blood stains. At the very least, house keeping could have shifted the sheets to were the stains would’ve been at the foot of the bed so it would have gone unnoticed, but no it was over by were I lay my head. I don’t understand the thought process behind it because it is very obvious and disgusting. Two, the bathroom clearly was not deep cleaned because there was hair of previous clients on all three walls of the shower. 100% was not mine as they were there before I even showered. This place is also flawed because they don’t have a front desk. If you have issues you have to contact a representative through the mobile app. Which is frustrating because you get a new one each time, its robotic, and if the WiFi/connection cuts out you have to start the conversation all over again. I tried to report the blood stain issue, but the app wouldn’t let me submit the report/upload a photo and it would have been $50+ to REQUEST A CLEANING. On top of that, while I was there they were having plumbing issues. They said hot water would be shut off until 2:30pm, no problem, whatever… until it was 5:30pm and hot water still wasn’t on and not one curtesy update notifying us that it would be shut off even longer. There were a few other problems, but these were the main ones for me. Will not be returning.

3: Warning! Temperature is controlled by the building! During certain months the room unit only cools or heats. Our stay was in April and the unit would only cool. It was cold in our room so we requested (using the Sonder app chat function) a space heater and an extra blanket, which was brought to the room. However, later when we requested creamer for coffee, we were informed we only get 1 room request per visit. They told us how to get to an essentials closet on the 4th floor, so we went and got it ourselves. The drip coffee maker was broken, but we still managed to make it work. Didn’t tell them about it because we only get 1 request per visit, so I figured they can find out about it later the hard way. For this reason they should handle problems differently! I gave the place 3 stars because everything else was good. Location was amazing, good layout of the room, included fridge, dishwasher, cups, plates, sponge and dish soap, even olive oil salt pepper and measuring spoons to cook with. We didn’t eat in the room though because so many restaurants surround the Sonder hotel (yes it says Quincy, but the outside is covered in Sonder banners). Bed was a Queen, was comfy, and the linens were clean. Note! We got lucky because it was cold and the space heater was available. If the room would have been hot, with no way to cool it we would have been screwed! I would not stay here again.

Vicki McEvoy: Liked the actual hotel, but way too much reliance on the internet. Hard to get signed in so we could enter the hotel. Using the washer/dryer for clothes is reliant on CSC service works. Bought the card but could not add money to the card and therefore could not do laundry. Why can't I just use my credit card on the washer/dryer to use them?

Bill Gluck: This Sonder facility is comparable to a two star hotel at best. Poor room layout. Sparse, cheap furnishings. Uncomfortable bed. Dirty floors throughout unit. Incredibly, bed listed as a queen is a double by measurement and Sonder both agreed and disagreed, depending on chat session! Toilet paper draws blood. Bluetooth key and customer service via Sonder app were ineffectual at all four Sonder locations we have patronized.

Generator Washington DC: what do users think?

Yidan Zheng: Stayed there for three nights and it’s really good!! The staff are so nice and friendly. They allow free late check out at 12pm. And the lobby is so comfortable. They have pool and gym and they also offer bike rental for only $14 for a day! The location is good with the bus stations. The only thing is the king bed is actually two twin sizes beds but I am okay with this! Thank you for providing such a good place to stay!!!
Response: Hi, Thank you so much for the great review!! We are so happy to see that you enjoyed time here with us!

Jasmine: Not a hostel for socializing, but it is very elegant, clean, and innovative! Hands down one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. It’s basically a hotel with bunk beds. The shower and toilet was in the room and is set up exactly the same as a hotel. Bunk beds have a light, charger ports and cute little framed pictures of US presidents. Sheets and pillows were extremely comfy. Bikes available for rental. Cafe on-site that closes at 2. Great place to stay!!
Response: Hi Jasmine, Thank you very much for the review! We are happy to see that you enjoyed our dorm rooms!!

Ras Sammiedread - DJ Morefire: Was in DC for a business trip with my wife and have to stay the night and finish up next day. Booked the Deluxe King Suite online and check in was smooth with Brittany at the front desk. Room and bath was very clean. Garage parking was a real test for my maneuverability skill and thought was a little expenses($40) for garage fees. We really loved our stay and peace of mind regardless. Will definitely again for sure.
Response: Hi, Thank you soo much for the great review! We are happy to see that Brittany made your check in smooth and that ypu enjoyed your stay here with us. We hope to see you again!!

Nate H: We initially stayed here due to the few amount of hotels with parking. So glad that we did. It is close to everything you want to see in DC. The staff are super friendly. Rooms were clean. Rooms are a bit small, but we weren't in them much so it wasn't a big deal. Overall great place to stay!
Response: Thank you for the 5 star review Nate. We appreciate your business.

Chelsey Birgisdóttir: TL;DR I would only stay here as a last resort. I would not recommend this hostel. Positives: +Great location near DuPont Circle. +Allan the manager is great and super responsive. Some of the other front desk staff were hospitable and respectful. +It’s clean! Negatives: -The beds are super uncomfortable. I think the mattresses are SUPER old. They sink in the middle. The sheets do not fit the bed and keep coming off during the night. - There is one INCREDIBLY rude and disrespectful receptionist. She was the one working when I checked in at 7am on 4/28/2022. Not only was she very unhelpful, she was having an attitude with me. She cut me off when I was speaking. She was being short with me as well. Fortunately the issue with my reservation was resolved (once I contacted Allan) but honestly my interaction with her tainted my whole stay there. I felt extremely uncomfortable approaching the front desk whenever she was working there and would wait till the afternoon staff was in to ask for anything.
Response: .

Harry “Burge” Burgess: Rooms are nice. Atmosphere isn't really one for making new friends. Very quiet and people keep to themselves. More of a hotel vibe. Storage under the bed isnt high enough and has an annoying cage on the top that only opens halfway. Basically meaning its impossible to fit a suitcase inside. Very annoying. Internet constantly has to reconnect and isn't very fast. Bathroom is clean and shower is nice. Fresh towels provided daily. Can't take food or drinks up to room. Location isn't the best.
Response: Harry, It is very disappointing to see that there were so many aspects of your stay that fell short. My apologies for the mentioned items that relate directly to our hotel. We do appreciate your having provided us with an opportunity to host you while in our nation's capital.

Eric Sullivan: It was a pretty 2 star experience. While checking in, we were told our room was not yet ready for another 30-45 minutes. Understandable. After sinking deep into the middle of the "deluxe king," I realized it was two twin beds strapped together. Parking was good. Good location.
Response: Eric, I am sorry to read that you were not totally satisfied with your accommodations. Thank you for your positive reflection regarding our parking facility and location. We hope you will consider another stay with us in the future.

Alex Kaplan: Location is perfect. Hotel/ Hostel combo. The place is clean as it's possible in this combo facility. Day time personal are ok. The opposite is late evening and night. The night shift are rude and useless, if it wasn't for a nice security guard we would have to carry 3 suitcases from parking to the elevators. Like previously stated the rooms are clean but definitely in dire need for maintenance. as the picture show. I couldn't take the picture of the standing water in the showers, it takes long time to drain or the crack ceiling with chipping paint.
Response: Alex, Thank you for such a frank review. We appreciate the aspects of our property that met your standards. My sincerest apology for your arrival experience. Rudeness is not acceptable in our business of hospitality. I can assure you the matter will be addressed. My hope is that you will consider returning in the future to see the best of who we are.

Daniel Liestman: We thought the price was right and it was. But I recall a lot of nickel and dining with added fees. The parking garage system for both entering and exiting is a challenge and the parking spots are impossibly tight. Once you have parked, good luck wending your way back up. The amenities were slim to none. The room was small, but we loved how it was decorated—anything but typical!
Response: Hi Daniel, thank you so much for the review. We are sorry about the parking. We do hope that you will give us another try one day.

Daniel Kokkila: Don't waste your money! We booked 3 rooms for a 4 day conference. All the rooms were advertised as king rooms. They were not. They put two twins together and advertise it as a king. It was extremely uncomfortable. I dont know if I've ever had such a bad night's sleep. It is also very noisy. Any time a door shuts, opens or someone is in the hall you can hear them. They also have clocks in your room on the headboard that you can't unplug and they tick all night long.
Response: Hello Daniel, Thank you for the review. We are sorry to see that you did not enjoy your stay here with us. We have noted your concerns and plan to improve.

WhyHotel by Placemakr, Union Market, Washington, DC: what do users think?

Bill Holler: This very modern Apartmenthouse is for me the right place. You have a complete apartment with everything you need for a short or even long stay. The whole place works fully digital. Once you have installed the App and activated your stay, you are ready to enter everything you need. The doors will unlock automatically once you are close, the same goes for the elevator or the parking garage. The equipment in the room is top notch. As fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer, even an extra dressing room, what else can you ask for? Oh yes, of course what about a balcony? But this is also there. Pricing is excellent compared with hotels in that area, only 15 minutes from the Capitol.
Response: Dear Bill, On behalf of the WhyHotel by Placemakr, Union Market, Washington, DC team, thank you for staying with us and for your review! We're elated that our convenient location, excellent value, and well-equipped accommodations were all highlights of your visit. We hope to welcome you back the next time you're in the area!

Lucy Yao: Great location, amenities and space. Looks clean upon first glance, but after a couple hrs walking around, all our socks and feet were filthy. Not for families with young kids or anyone planning to remove their shoes at some point. It’s a shame, as I really like a lot of features about this place and would still recommend for adults who aren’t going to be bothered by dirty floors. For $450/nt, I expected not to have to be down on my knees Lysol wiping when first arriving at my hotel.
Response: Dear Lucy, Thank you for your recent feedback regarding your stay with us. It's nice to know our location was convenient. However, we apologize sincerely for letting you down when it comes to cleanliness. Our housekeeping team will ensure that rooms are thoroughly cleaned before occupancy. Having said that, it's nice to know you enjoyed our amenities. We welcome your comments and would appreciate another opportunity to deliver the excellent value you deserve.

Mecca Russell: I stayed here in December. The hotel is in a residential complex where people live full time. The app needed to enter in and out of the building, the elevator, and your apt suite was an absolute trainwreck. It was temperamental and inconsistent. I arrived and my room wasn't clean: the kitchen stove was dirty and the toilet/bathroom needed better cleaning. There were towels in the dryer. The apartment was new, but the cleaning staff looked like they just quickly wiped over things and were in a rush. I ultimately brought the matter to the hotel's office and they kindly moved me into another room. The TV in the new room did not work and it was really confusing to figure out how it worked. The dishwasher didn't work either and I had to bring the matter to the staff once again. They got a maintenance person to fix it in about two-three hours the following day but it became something I had to worry about, as I had to be there to let him in. There were just too many things I didn't want to be bothered with while on vacation. Def won't be staying here again.
Response: Dear Mecca, Thank you for sharing your constructive feedback. We aim to deliver a comfortable, home-away-from-home experience, and we're distressed to have fallen short of your expectations. Rest assured, our housekeeping team will refocus their attention to detail. We'll be working diligently to improve, and we hope to have another opportunity to change your perceptions.

Tondi Bailey: Highly recommend staying here for any trip. It is the perfect mix between an airbnb with hotel amenities. Easy check-in/check-out. The room was very clean and staff was super helpful. We did experience trouble with access to our room via the app, but it was resolved by staff quickly. 10/10 experience.
Response: Dear Tondi, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments with us. We're delighted to know that you appreciated our easy check-in experience, clean accommodations, and friendly staff members. Happy travels to you, and we hope to see you again soon!

INSECURITIES: Stayed in the one bedroom apartment, which was very nice and clean. However, I wish I could say the same about management they were very rude and unprofessional. Me and my girlfriend stayed here for her birthday weekend and we actually enjoyed the stay so much we decided to extend it. The lady at the front desk Nataya provided us with inaccurate information in regards to the check out times and amount. An associate from the hotel barged into our room and did not give us enough time to respond. I felt as if our privacy was invaded. She advised us that we were supposed to be checked out and after explaining the situation the associate continued to talk over us being very rude and our access to the unit was restricted. We spoke with someone at the front desk and tried to rectify the situation and instead of communicating appropriately we were continuously talked over and interrupted and no one took accountability for the associate providing inaccurate information. We were then kicked out of the hotel completely having to be escorted to just get our things out of the unit and was lied on saying that we got into a fight with one of the managers even though it was the manager being rude. Very unpleasant and traumatizing experience. Poor customer service.
Response: Thank you for sharing feedback about your recent experience at our hotel. While we are glad you found our accommodations clean and pleasant, we are very sorry to hear about the encounters you had with our staff, and we will certainly research the issue. Your comments are important to us, and we will use them as we continually work to improve our service. We wish you safe travels in the future.

MBK Wise: Terrible experience. Very difficult to find or locate. No signs or any indication there's a hotel there. You arrive at the address and see 'Press House' but no 'Why Hotel'. You go to the door and it's locked. You look around and notice a keyboard with a camera. You finally see in a small print 'Why Hotel' button. So, you push it. It keeps on ringing. Then a recording tells you they're closed. You knock on the door and a guard is reluctant to open it for you. When his Highness decides to respond he tells you it's not his problem and the hotel actually occupies 2 floors in this big building. Then he decides to point at a small flyer shoeing another tel no for the hotel. You call and the employees are not happy you came. They process you, then the key doesn't work. Then you try again, then the new key doesn't work either. Meanwhile you hear comments and face behavior showing you they're doing you a favor. The garage parking is another ridiculous experience. If you need help you don't get it. And when they decide to help, they take a long time to show up. I wasn't satisfied and I done recommend it. It's a similar system to Air BnB, but a terrible one.
Response: In reading your review, it is clear that we failed to meet your needs, and for that, we are very sorry. We will speak with our team immediately about the service we provide, as welcoming hospitality is crucial. We will also take action in regard to our key system. Forgive us for our shortcomings this time around, and allow us to make it up to you in the future.

jennifer bollinger: Communication with staff and help was wonderful!! Anthony was who greeted us and helped us get parked he was great and welcoming! I was super excited about our stay until I opened the room and no balcony 😭 I spent weeks looking for a place I'd feel comfortable at staying at that met my needs because, of a horrible accident I was in. I'm extremely costrophobic I can't do small enclosed spaces. I am also handicapped. So it's hard for me to find places that can accommodate. Every picture on here show the rooms have balconies. When I arrived in my room no balcony. There also shows pictures of an outdoor area with a pool and such. You can not use them. So unfortunately I'm currently battling panic attacks being enclosed in this room and wondering if a weekend I was so excited for and took weeks planning can still happen because I'm not sure I'll beable to enjoy my time here in DC. Please don't advertise things if you can not accommodate. Praying I can get past this and can give why hotel a better review. Got
Response: Dear Jennifer, Thank you for sharing feedback about your experience at our hotel. While we're glad you felt welcomed by Anthony when you arrived, we are sorry our accommodations were not what you expected. We are not certain if you've been able to speak with our front desk team to assist you, so may be able to change your room, but we highly recommend you contact them. We appreciate you reaching out and hope that the rest of your stay is comfortable.

Tori S: We absolutely loved this hotel it is like no other hotel experience because You're staying in a beautiful apartment. We like the fact that we could go shopping for shopping for food and makes most of our meals at the apartment. Trader Joe's is right across the street and it is walking distance from Union station about 35 minutes. The metro station is right around the corner and it's a straight shot to U street where there's plenty of dining and night life.
Response: Dear Tori, We're delighted you enjoyed your stay at WhyHotel Washington DC Union Market! It's great to know that our location was ideal for your trip. If your travels bring you back to the area, we'd be happy to host you again.

EIANKA ANICETTE: The location is definitely up an coming. It reminded me of downtown Brooklyn (Dumbo) during the building of the new constructs. I give it about 3 to 5 years and that area will be a sight for sore eyes. Over all the staff were very helpful especially when it came to accessing the room key. It seemed a bit tricky but honestly after being shown what to do it became very easy to navigate/access the building. The only thing I would suggests is getting a thicker mattress or a much more stable platform. While we were sleeping the head area kept sinking and the pillows went through. Will definitely return.
Response: Dear Eianka, Thank you for choosing to be our guest at WhyHotel Washington DC Union Market. We're happy to hear you appreciated our up-and-coming location and friendly service. Your suggestions for improvement have been duly noted. We can't wait for your next visit!

P & C Flores: The location was PERFECT! The "apartment" feeling was perfect for us to feel comfortable and same time it gave us the taste what it is like to live in big city! :) We'll definitely stay here again anytime we visit DC in the future.
Response: It was wonderful to host you at WhyHotel by Placemakr, Union Market, Washington, DC. We appreciate you shining the spotlight on our comfortable and well-appointed accommodations. Familiar faces are our favorite, so hurry back!

Hostel Comfort Zone DC: what do users think?

Daniel Escamilla III: It was a nice little quaint place away from the DC hustle and craziness. This hostel is like a little home, not too many people so it's easy to meet everyone staying there and get together. It's right across the street from the free transit line to Union Station which can take you to the rest of DC. It's very secure and the staff is great. The breakfast is easy and perfect for people on the go. I enjoyed my time there and will definitely try again.

Kevin Levesque: Not a bad place for the money. The bed was comfortable. They have 2 parking spaces that can be reserved. On street parking is free and plentiful. Depending on where you park you may need to move your car. The Bennett Rd. parking spaces become a travel lane during the evening commute. There is 1 male/female bathroom on the 2nd floor. Sometimes the line is 3 people deep. Women have the option to use the female only bathroom on the first floor. A bus stop and a free trolley are about a 1 minute walk from the hostel. Breakfast was corn flakes and milk. The staff and guests were friendly.

Nick Sagnasty Trombley: I've been here a few times. It's the perfect place to find a quiet, small but very quality hostel outside of downtown with a cultural staff. Not always the cheapest but it's worth the price. It's close to a lot of convenience stores and a few blocks from McDonald's.

Daniel Gonçalves: A LOT of work to be done at this Hostel. While the staff was friendly and helpful, the absence of amenities like a stove are key to have a successful hostel. The A/C was hardly working either. There's a code to enter the property and all the rooms do not have a key or access code. There were several instances where other guests would enter my room by mistake. The upstairs rooms, there was only one bathroom and sometimes I would have to wait for half an hour to use the restroom. As a regular hostel attendee, I've never seen locals using an hostel but whilst I stayed there, my room was regularly frequented by locals. To get around the city, there's a free tram that takes you directly to the Union Station but I didn't feel safe to walk at night in that part of town. Although Comfort Zone has the best rates as a hotel in the city, do yourself a favor and get a hostel elsewhere.
Response: Daniel, thank you very much for your review and suggestions. We hope to better our services so regular hostel attendees can enjoy their stay and enjoy the city.

samson seyoum: We made a quite long road trip with my whole family of six.... my twin boys and the girls love the accessibility to the numerous play grounds near to our stay, while my wife were obsessed with the customer service, cleanliness and comfort of the bed ... it was such an outstanding experience for tourists like us who wants to explore most of the city since we were in a walking distance to public transportation... definitely a coming back customer here ... love the manager ; who gave complimentary teddy bear to my kids... Thanks you !

Arnold Bundotich: Very accessible to Union St through a free tram service. Stores such as 7-eleven, McDonald's and sol Mexican are walking distance away. The staff are very welcoming.

Ronnie Brown: I do not advise anyone to go there. Everything stinks.

TJ Travis Is Dead: Friendly staff. Perfect low cost spot to stay at while I was waiting to move into my new place. Nice kitchen area. There’s a backyard to smoke in with privacy. The only downside was that there was only one bathroom.

Woundim Demissie: The best hostel I have been and I want people to know that these is a brand new management used to be capitol city hostel so don’t be confused with the reviews which is still on the website. It’s so convenient next to street train and a lot of bars. I will be back.

TH Swiss: Great staff, clean and free breakfast. There is even free public transportation from the hostel to Union Station. The hostel is near to groceries and to the center. I definitely recommend this hostel.

Joshua Russell: The Grand Hyatt is a very large hotel near Chinatown, just a couple blocks from Capital One Arena. They have a covered car pull through if you are arriving by car which is nice in case of bad weather but can get a bit busy as it doesn’t seem anyone really is directing people. Once inside the check in desk is to the left rear of the very large lobby. The front desk staff is very nice and efficient. We were able to get checked in very quickly and able to get to our room with ease. The elevators are at the back of the lobby. There were about 6 elevators so you don’t have to wait long to catch one. The room is very spacious and very comfortable with a very nice sitting chair as well as a desk. We had a king bed and it was very comfortable, though one extra pillow would have been nice as there were three pillows so if there are two people both could have two. The bathroom is nice as well with good shower with perfect amount of water pressure. One thing you will notice is that in the hallways and lobby areas they are pumping a scent through the ventilation system. While I found it very nice others may be turned off by it. Overall it was a good hotel in a great location.

Melissa Marie: Great hotel location and close to major tourist areas and shopping. Room was a little dirty in places, but nothing major. The bathroom mirror still had water spots. Desk was dusty and chair had crumbs in it. The shower head was not adjustable and shoots straight out instead of downward. You may not get told at check in what the amenity fee includes. If you ask, they will give you a paper, so you will know what you are entitled to. There is a Starbucks and restaurant inside the hotel. Hotel serves breakfast for free if you are a high level Hyatt member or you can pay for it. The gift shop offers a variety of items, not just souvenirs. Self parking garage is also connected to hotel. It costs $45/day with no in and out privileges. Valet is $62/day, but does include unlimited in and out. The garage elevator goes straight up to hotel lobby. The Metro station is in basement area of hotel and easily accessible to get to and from hotel. Staff was super friendly.

R. Michael Burns: I really liked my room here -- modern yet cozy, with comfy beds and a cool view into the lovely atrium. Huge TV, cute little mini-fridge with a window so you're somewhat less likely to forget things in it. The bathroom was very spacious, not the claustrophobic closet you so often get, and the shower was easy to adjust, something else I've found is not always true. There was a little confusion checking in because of how my school was paying for the rooms, but the front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful and did a great job of resolving the issue. Every interaction I had with the front desk staff was friendly and efficient -- great hospitality. There are also enough elevators to serve the place effectively even when it's busy, which may seem like a small thing, but if you have ever stayed in a large hotel without enough elevators, you know what a huge inconvenience it can be. The hotel is also a very short walk from Chinatown, the convention center, various Smithsonian buildings, and the National Mall, as well as plenty of good restaurants. My only tiny complaints are that the elevators are all at one end of the atrium, and my room was at the exact opposite end, so it was a bit of a walk to my room or the elevators every time I went out. That, and there's a strangely small number of channels available on the hotel's cable service, but those are pretty minor things compared to all the good stuff. The hotel isn't cheap, but if you can afford it, it's worth it. I'd stay again without hesitation.

Nene W.: I spent Christmas night at Grand Hyatt Washington this year. It was my second time with them and I had a wonderful time! The staffs were really nice and helpful. If you like to drink and chill, don’t forget to check out their bar. The room was clean and comfortable. Plus, they also have the best breakfast which is available from 7-10am. I will definitely go back to this hotel more often. It was a great experience!

RITA LIN: We had a wonderful stay. The staff were so polite, nice, respectful, friendly and accommodating. The only concern we had was, wishing the vent in the bathroom would have been stronger. The mirrors would fog up easily during a hot shower even with the door open. Over all though , a very relaxing stay, we will return once we are back in town. Thank you!

Hampus Engstroem: Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any resort. This site will compare countless booking web sites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the highest rated in the area. I have been coming here for years. If you stay for a few days you definitely will love it I'm sure! Great hotel location and close to major tourist areas and shopping. The garage elevator goes straight up to hotel lobby. The Metro station is in basement area of hotel and easily accessible to get to and from hotel. Staff was super friendly.

Kim Nguyen: The Grand Hyatt is located near Chinatown and it’s extremely convenient for us to get around. We were able to walk everywhere during our stay. The online check-in process was easy and quick. I was able to request for early check-in and got our room by 12pm instead of 3pm. That was definitely a plus in my book. The hotel lobby was really massive and beautifully designed. During our stay, there was a medical conference. It was busier than usual and we had to wait some time for the elevator. Our room is across from the Sax restaurant and lounge, so it was really loud at night. There were a lot of honking, screaming, and car noise. Overall, it was a good stay for us. Oh, they also have a Starbucks right inside the hotel.

Casey Meyer: Beautiful modern interior hall with an awesome chandelier. Front desk was extremely nice, and the gentleman who helped us get our luggage in was beyond courteous. Rooms are typical- nothing special, not that that's a bad thing. Little decals on each of the walls in every room is a cool addition.

Doug Gwilliam: First time in DC for a weekend getaway found me booking 4 nights at the Grand Hyatt. The hotel lobby is stunning and mesmerizing to look at. The location is amazing even with a Metro stop right off the lobby! The National Mall is a 12 minute walk. Everything else is pretty average. This hotel has a "destination fee" which is just another way to get money out of customers, taking a page from Marriott Hotels. Among other things, the $20 DAILY fee, includes water and a Metro card. The Metro card is worth $3 and I had to ask for it at check in. The employee didn't know what it was and had to go ask. You pay the $20 fee DAILY, yet you only get one $3 Metro card per stay. We stayed 4 nights and would have expected 4 x $3 on the Metro card. Nope. As a Globalist, most everything else included with the fee is already included, which is probably why Globalists get the fee waived. Still, very silly to even have the fee. Oh, it also includes a Wine Magazine in your room! Who wouldn't want to pay $20 a day for that! If I didn't get the fee waived, I would have asked for it to be waived as it provides very little. We had access to the club lounge, which is where this hotel served the breakfast and evening snacks for Globalists as well. Having been used to having breakfast in the dining room usually, this would be our first club lounge to use for breakfast. The breakfast was a pretty good spread with yogurt, fruit, scrambled eggs (although very runny), bacon, toast and a few other items. Although pretty good, there was no variety - every morning was the same. No pancakes, waffles, no difference. Breakfast in the dining room definitely would have been better. The same happened for the evening snacks. Salad, meatballs, pasta, sliders - pretty substantial, but no variety day to day. If you're staying 1 night, the breakfast and evening snacks would be great. The Grand Hyatt offered no globalist recognition. At most of my other hotel stays, I got an email about a week before, asking me if there was anything I needed for my stay and welcoming me. Nothing. When I checked in, I saw in the app there was an upgraded room available, but when I asked at the front desk, I was told it wasn't available. The room was average, nothing special. What made this hotel work so well, is the location. So easy to catch the Metro - with an entrance right in the hotel lobby (only open weekdays though), otherwise, you just walk outside half a block. You can also walk to just about everywhere else, with the National Mall being a 12 minute walk. Overall, the stay was pretty average, but made for a good home base for everything we wanted to do.

Haresh Joshi: I must say that it was a pleasure being taken care of by Alyce. She is the best. Every time I was there, I couldn't help but wonder how she takes care of every single guest with that smile and enthusiasm. She went above and beyond in ensuring everyone got what they wanted. Personally for me, I wanted croissants and they were gone when I went. She made sure they were delivered to my room. I was just amazed :) Thanks once again to all your front desk and Alyce. They are your assets.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Arlington Rosslyn Key Bridge: what do users think?

Shenita Y White: The hotel is very nice and clean with basically all new modern furnishings. The staff are also friendly, professional and accommodating. However, our room was frequently cold as was they lobby. There seems to be an issue regulating the temperature. We were provided space heaters in our room and staff were responsive anytime we called to inform them of our discomfort. They even moved us to a warmer room. In addition to the temperature issue, the breakfast is lacking in quality and variety. We only ate it 3x (out of necessity) during our 2 week stay. The same menu is offered daily. The oatmeal is watery/soupy, the link sausages are greasy, gray and over/undercooked and the eggs are either greasy omelets or bland scrambled, and the bananas are brown and spotty. The other items are standard hotel fare (cereal, breads, yogurt, waffles, juice, etc.). We did eat one night at The Colony and it was decent. I'm giving it 4**** because it's a nice hotel and we will stay again. They just have to do better with the building temperature and food quality.
Response: Thank you so much for sharing your experience on google. We truly appreciate your feedback. We have communicated with our team regarding the temperature of the room, as well as check on our breakfast. We look forward to serving you soon in the near future.

Krishna Putchakayala: Solid location with nearby grocery/drug store/restaurant options. Near metro, which is direct access to the National Mall and DCA. Free shuttle service which helped with luggage and may be needed for individuals with mobility issues (relatively steep uphill to first traffic light but not a major issue). Nice walkable playground and even car rental. Location made it easier to avoid traffic throughout our stay. Relatively new/clean with nice rooms and complimentary breakfast/happy hour that kept our children engaged and eating. Manager was great, stepping up to lend a hand with everything. Lobby was nice, inviting fireplace and table game.
Response: Thank you so much for staying with us.

Jeanette C. Hicks: Pros: location!!! This is a 8-10 min walk to Rosslyn metro which is ideal for getting into DC easily. The hotel has a shuttle that is helpful. The hotel staff are very kind. Hotel is clean and the rooms very comfortable. There is a nice free snack/drink happy hour on some nights. Cons: I booked two connecting rooms and called twice to confirm. When we were given two rooms, not even next door to each other. The desk clerk did respond appropriately and acknowledged their error but it was frustrating. The breakfast included in the rooms is easily overwhelmed. We tried showing up earlier each morning and encountered hot food had run out, empty coffee urns, and often no more refills on hot items. If you want cereal, toast/bagel breakfast, it is fine. The bar/lounge area closes at 9pm and the water pressure in the shower was a trickle. It all depends what is most important to you in a DC area hotel.
Response: Hi Jeanette C. Hicks - We apologize for the inconveniences you had while you were with us. Could you please contact us at https://help.hilton.com/s/contactsupport or call our team at (703) 348-2828 so we can learn what we could have done differently? Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review.

Aliza Maaghop: Homewood Suites by Hilton Arlington Rosslyn Key Bridge is a great hotel for guests visiting the DC area. It’s far enough to not hear the bustle and noise from all the crowds next to the monuments in National Mall, but it’s still close enough of a drive and next to a lot of shops and restaurants. The check in/check out process is really easy when using and relying on the Hilton Honors app. When my husband and I drove into the parking garage, I was surprised that I could already use the digital key to enter from my phone. I would definitely recommend using the app especially if you don’t want to go to the front desk and go straight to your room and just want easy access to open everything in the hotel. The room was very spacious and clean; the service was also excellent when we had to go to the front desk to ask some questions. My husband and I loved the complimentary breakfast. Their breakfast is from 0600-0900 M-F, and 0700-1000 Sat/Sun and has a variety of foods like scrambled eggs, sausages, diced potatoes, bagels, muffins, and even a waffle maker! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back for our next DC trip.
Response: Thank you so much for staying with us. Really happy you and your husband enjoyed your stay with us. We look forward to serving you soon in the near future. Have a great summer.

Leslie Jones: Once I added parking to our reservation, it was easy to check in ahead, share my digital key with my guest, and get in and out easily. But, our room, 725 was not as clean as we would have liked. The bathroom vent was dirty and the carpet has a major stain. Bed was comfortable and kitchen very usable.
Response: Thank you so much for staying with us.

Courtney Phillips: We had an exceptional experience staying here with our two kids for a trip to DC. The rooms were spotless, water pressure was great, and we came home from touring each day to fresh towels and made beds. The room setup was perfect for our family and allowed us a comfortable experience. We received prompt shuttle service to and from the Metro station which was a lifesaver. If we ever visit DC again, this would be our hotel again for sure!
Response: Thank you so much for staying with us. Truly appreciate your feedback. Looking forward to serving you soon in the future.

jamie eaton: This hotel is awesome. The front desk staff are all wonderful. We were traveling by RV and they were super helpful. We also last minute asked for late check out and they were able to accommodate. Other hotels need to send their staff to be trained from the management at this hotel because hands down this was my best hotel experience yet and I've been in plenty of hotels. Washington DC is awesome so we will definitely be back and this will be our hotel of choice again for sure!
Response: Thank you so much for choosing us as your home away from home. We truly appreciate your feedback and recommending others on Google.

Robin Green: We were there for a burial at Arlington. We shared a suite with family and were very happy with the room as well as the staff. Manager, Chris was extremely accommodating. Lobby was great place to gather and dinner was superb. Overall, an immensely positive experience despite the sober occasion.
Response: Thank you so much for staying with us. We truly appreciate your feedback. Looking forward to serving you soon under different circumstances. Thank you.

Miss g: I stayed here almost once a month over the past year and my most recent stay was almost 5 months. Everything was good until my ring along with my grandmothers ring went missing ..after housekeeping cleaned before the holiday .reported to police and gm only for gm to transfer me to insurance.. who said they couldn’t pay out because no proof that anyone broke in or stole. I tipped housekeeping and staff greatly . Hr questioned why i took my rings off to cook and GM did nothing.. downstairs staff were pleasant but the most important thing is my grandmothers 40 year old ring is gone. I will never stay here again.
Response: Thank you so much for staying with us. Please email us @ DCALH_GM@hilton.com. We appreciate your feedback.

Kelly: Overall my family was very satisfied with location, price, and cleanliness. And we would stay again. Below are details. Rooms were large, updated, very clean and tidy. We had the 2 bdrm/2br suite with kitchen and living room which allowed everyone their own space. Both bedrooms and the living room had large flat screens and ceiling fans. Only negative with room was there were several stains on the couch. It's probably time they reupholstered them. We also had a 2 queen suite that was also very large. Check in - I was able to check in and choose my room online through the app and was notified when the room was ready. I was also able to get a digital key which was convenient. The only issue with the digital key was it didn't work in the elevator and you needed your key to select a floor. It did work for the garage and at the room. Dining - Happy hour drinks and flatbreads were good and at a good price. Only negative was when we got the bill we didn't get the happy hour pricing and there was a little bit of a language barrier when it was questioned. It was easier just to pay the bill. The hot breakfast was free. All of the staff were nice and accommodating.
Response: Thank you so much for staying with us. We truly appreciate your feedback regarding our hotel. Please email us at DCALH_GM@hilton.com and we will make sure to honor the happy hour rate. Thank you.

AC Hotel by Marriott National Harbor Washington, DC Area: what do users think?

Ashley V: My husband and I recently stayed a night to celebrate our wedding night. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and sanitized but i was extremely shocked by the lack of amenities at this hotel. There was no microwave in the room. There was no room service. No breakfast the next morning. They did not validate parking. I think I was expecting a little more from a hotel of such quality. It was nice for a quick staycation but i probably won’t stay here again.

Titi: Perfect location! Right near everything. Our room had a beautiful view of the ferris wheel. The main issue was the bathroom area in our room. It was really nice to look at, but not functional. The bowl sink splashes water all over anything near it, and the whole counter and sink are super low. I'm only 5'7 and I had to bend a lot. Then there's the issue with it not having a door or a half wall or something for the bathroom. If you're at the sink undressed or half dressed or coming out of the shower and someone opens the door, anyone in the hallway will get a show. I wanted to like the AC hotel, but we will most likely try one of the other centrally located hotels in the harbor next time.

Derek Kruger: Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This website will compare thousands of hotel sites and usually will have prices much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is the best rated in the area. I've been coming here for years. If you choose this place you definitely won't be let down. Stay was excellent from checking in to checking out. The customer service was great as well as the location. I will surely stay here again when in town

John Roby Morsberger: Rooms are nice. Storage is tight, but adequate for a short stay. I didn't care for the face bowl. Only one coffee for a double room. Staff is excellent, friendly and helpful.

James Elliott: The room was fair and nothing to rave about. There is absolutely ZERO continental breakfast, it's a mediocre 13$ pastry quiche display that won't appeal. I've stayed at cheaper hotels for less than half the price that loaded you up with eggs bacon toast waffles juice etc for free. This placed is designed to get every dime out of you anyway they can while your here.

Crystal Tan: My husband was attending a convention nearby and we booked a 3-night stay at the hotel. The hotel doesn’t really have a big sign outside, like what you might expect. The hotel building looks like any other high rise buildings with restaurants on the ground floor. It’s a good thing that our U er driver is familiar with the area and the hotel. As we entered the glass sliding door, which just looks like a side door and not a hotel entrance, there were 2 elevators and a flight of stairs. The hotel lobby was in fact on the 2nd floor. The hotel is a good hotel to stay in overall. It is clean and bright and modern. Our room was on the 2nd floor as well which we didn’t mind because it was convenient to go the the lobby or the breakfast area in the morning. We have 2 queen beds and our room has a great view of the street and the park. I actually thought it would be a noisy room as it is news the streets, but it wasn’t. The hotel was perfect located amongst shops, restaurants, and the harbor where the huge Ferris Wheel is. The room is pricey though. At $343.28/ night with taxes, there’s no free breakfast, not even free coffee. I heard that it is the cheapest room they have. Breakfast is buffet style for about $13/person. This is not your eggs bacon kind of breakfast. It’s more of pastries, fruits, boiled egg, cereal. slices of meats for a sandwich, coffee, and bottled orange, cranberry, or apple juice. There is nothing special about the bed. My sleep quality is the same as the other good hotels that I’ve checked it (at a better price with free breakfast and/or free coffee at least). There was only 2 complimentary coffee when we arrived, and it had never been replenished after it was consumed. I’m giving this hotel 3 stars for the location. Will I check in here again? probably not. Should you check in this hotel? Yes, because the location is great.

Michelle C.: Stay away from this hotel even though it’s a great location. I was checked in by a male staff and several hours later, the MOD, Leonard called my room to verify my last name and requested me to proceed downstairs with my ID stating that my room wasn’t assigned in the system. Requesting personal info via the phone is a violation of privacy. In addition, verification of ID is supposed to be performed at check-in and not after! In addition, the MOD was very rude and sarcastic when I refused to provide the info as I wasn’t even sure if he was legit. Leonard was very sarcastic during the interaction, which is unacceptable. The encounter could have been handled in a better manner.

Arcenia Macklin: Inquired about breakfast before arriving and was told they didn't have one. Upon checking out, I smelled breakfast food; they do have a continental breakfast for $12.99/per person. Disappointed by the misinformation. Outside of that, the stay was pleasant.

Extended Stay America - Washington, D.C. - Springfield: what do users think?

Dorcas Rodriguez: VERY easy to get to off of I95. my room was clean. fresh linens. staff was wonderful. breakfast is basic (oatmeal selection, coffee, breakfast bars, muffins). I was at another extended stay and they had cheddar instant grits and boiled eggs (at Fort Lee) BUT! I was satisfied. there are places nearby to get some food for lunch and dinner I found through Grub Hub. I didn't look for a breakfast place since I had coffee and oatmeal. it is pet friendly and was able to take my dog out for a walk around the hotel parking lot. i would go back

Jaelen Whitfield: Excellent stay and service. The assistant general manager Nyo was very nice and helpful. I checked in with Trudy, nice woman… helpful and patient. Room was clean, didn’t need to ask for much but for more towels. Wish there was a little convenience store and better breakfast. Location is perfect, everything is near by within a 10 minute drive at the most.

Kayleigh Johnsen: This stay was super last minute emergency situation. We had no power for days with no idea when they would have it back on. Obviously we where not the only people with this problem so hotels where booking fast! When we arrived they where very short staffed due to call outs. They still managed to be on top of everything! NYO was awesome very helpful and informative on everything. The room was clean and the beds where actually comfortable. All the staff I had the chance to meet where very nice. I honestly have no complaints besides the rude people checking in and throwing a fit about having to wait a bit for there room.
Response: Thank you for choosing Extended Stay America. We are genuinely sorry about the circumstances that brought you to us. However, we are glad a difficult day was made better by our devoted staff. Nyo is terrific at anticipating our guests’ needs and ensuring their stay is most memorable. He will be pleased to hear your compliments. We are also delighted to learn that you were pleased with our immaculate accommodations and that you had a good night's rest in our comfortable beds. We appreciate your great feedback and hope to have you as our guest again. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Jason Picarello: The staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to make sure that we needed had everything we needed for our stay. Room was very comfortable and clean. Also the close proximity to the blue line Metro Springfield station made it extremely easy to go all throughout the DMV. Next time I am in town I will definitely stay here again!

Deirdre Unsur: As I am the process of moving, I needed temporary quarters. This has become my second home. Hodan the General Manager was very accommodating and Nyo the Assistant Manager always has a smile and helps with whatever you need. The staff in general is great. They have a good assortment of kitchen items so you can cook for yourself and not spend a fortune on takeout. I like it so much I have extended my stay.
Response: Thank you for posting such kind comments about our hotel, especially about our team members. We make every effort to provide service that is above and beyond your expectations, so we are pleased to see that you are enjoying your comfortable suite with a fully equipped kitchenette. We look forward to sharing your comments with our team. Thank you for choosing Extended Stay America, and please enjoy the rest of your visit. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Barry Arons: It is very well located and quiet. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Nyo at the front desk is extremely conscientious at his job and has a good work ethic. Kerry always welcomes everyone with a big good morning hello.
Response: Dear Barry, we are delighted to know you had a wonderful stay at Extended Stay America. It is a pleasure to learn the service provided by our associates Nyo and Kerry surpassed your expectations; we will surely share your compliments with the team. Thank you again for staying with us; we look forward to welcoming you back. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Mike: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.. Kids running thru hallways bouncing basketball all hours of the night one even banged on my door. False fire alarms every month. People smoking in front of the building. Hallway carpet is dirty and their isn’t no AC in the hallways which means it is very hot n muggy in the halls. No maintenance man the manager doesn’t know what she is doing. The trash room was constantly being overflowed with trash some even left the trash outside their doors. Only 3 housekeepers and they only clean rooms every 2 weeks. STAY AWAY FROM HERE.
Response: Dear Mike, it wasn't very reassuring to read your comments concerning your stay at our hotel. Please accept our apologies, as we never mean to disappoint our guests. We can assure you that what you experienced is not acceptable by our standards. We will be taking the proper action as we are committed to providing every guest with a wonderful experience. Thank you again for your candid feedback, as this helps us improve the experience for future guests. We hope to have another opportunity to welcome you for a much better experience. Sincerely, Hotel Management

V R: Stay and service. The assistant general manager Nyo help me a lot with my room because there were several things that were deficient. The fan is in the room was extremely dirty I was not getting hot water in the bathroom shower, and my phone kept cutting on and off would literally drop a call in the middle of a sentence. Some of those things were fixed as I asked however the phone was not so this morning I had to call again to see if I could get the phone fixed. I also asked for linens three days from now if someone i.e. the housekeeper could drop them off at the door. That is not happening at extended stays anymore nor do they clean your room once a week it’s now every two weeks which is OK but for spending $100 or more at night I shouldn’t have to go down and get my own laundry for my room if they’re not gonna clean it. Another issue is my two burner stove top does not function properly it is way too hot even on medium I literally have to cook on low or else things will burn. If that isn’t enough the refrigerator freezes everything I eat fruits and vegetables especially that too I had to turn down way low. The hotel itself seems to be clean but it does smell in the hallways because of people cooking and old carpeting. Coffee is only served in the morning not during the day. There used to be a pool here but the corporation felt the need to fill it in and now it’s a cement slab. There is no place to sit outside no place for kids to play ie: no playground and that cement slab would be a perfect place to put up some umbrellas and a bench and a play area. I’m calling again about the stove and refrigerator so we will see if I amend this review. No not gonna change my review because the front desk won’t even answer the phone. They picked up the phone and then I heard noise in the back and then and then they hung up. Then I called back and no one answered. This is also very common at night no one answers hardly ever. Addendum May 9 2022 Leaking faucets, I asked the evening desk clerk to make a request to fix my leaking faucets because the dripping noise keeps me awake. I was told the maintenance man quit and they don't have one. I was told the manager would be notified. however the maintenance man only comes every two weeks. THIS IS THE ROOT OF THE HOTELS PROBLEM. IT IS NOT BEING MAINTAINED, AND THIS COMES FROM THE TOP. Expect for the cost I would not stay at another Extended Stay America they are all the same.
Response: Dear V R, we appreciate your writing us a review; it helps us understand our guest needs better. We are glad to see you were impressed with the assistance of our assistant general manager Nyo. However, we apologize for the inconvenience you experienced in your room. We have discussed these concerns with the respective team members. Also, we have noted your feedback for a sit-out place and will communicate the same with our management team. We hope to have another chance to provide you with the outstanding hospitality you should receive every time you are our guest. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Loren Sunell: This place is AWFUL. I got there and no one was at the front desk to check me in. And then, once she showed up, she tried to charge me again even though I had paid in advance. After that they gave me a smoking room when I requested a non-smoking room. They did not prepare my reservation properly so I could not access the Wi-Fi and missed a key meeting for work. The hallways smelled like weed and the entire facility was filthy. After all of that, I tried to check out and they have refused to refund me even though I did not get what I had reserved! I went through Booking, and Booking said without the hotel acknowledging what happened they could not do anything for me. I tried calling the hotel and the phone just kept ringing. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
Response: Loren, it is indeed disheartening to read your review for us. Firstly, we regret knowing about the associates not being present at the front office and the wait you experienced in receiving assistance. We assure you we will review this with our team to avoid any future lapse in service. We are also concerned about the smokey stay you had. We are a non-smoking hotel, but on a rare occasion, we do have violators of this rule. We take this seriously and assure you we will address it right away. Additionally, we will look into your claim for the refund and see what we can do for you. We hope to be of your service and regain your trust. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Ahmed Abdelhamid: The entire staff was always helpful and polite. Had two rooms and both of them where very clean and just felt comfortable to be in. I also liked the view from my rooms it was very relaxing.
Response: Ahmed, thank you for being our guest and for taking time to review your experience at Extended Stay America. It's so nice to know you found your suite comfortable and you were pleased with the exceptional service from our staff. We work hard to provide high levels of service, so we will share your compliments with the team to let them know their efforts are appreciated. Thank you for choosing our hotel, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. Sincerely, Hotel Management

Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center: what do users think?

Kisha Brantley: First time visiting DC with the family, I was hesitant about choosing this hotel due to current renovations. I chose it anyway because it is within walking distance to the national mall (about 15 to 20 minutes), restaurants, and the Metro. All staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, especially when my flight was cancelled and I needed to extend my stay. Spacious rooms, nice area, quiet a night. This is a family friendly hotel, so you will occasionally hear young children playing. My family enjoyed the hot breakfast, cereal, fruit, and yogurt. I would suggest having fans in the bathrooms. Valet parking is roughly $60 a day. Will choose this hotel again the next time I'm in DC

Sassy Sauce: I enjoyed staying at this hotel so much. They have the best sheets. They were nice and thick, smooth and just felt like a warm hug. I liked the sheets so much I called back to see if I could find out what the thread count and company were that made the sheets. They have a nice restaurant downstairs and the food is reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant. It’s very close to downtown and walking distance to shops, restaurants, metro stations, and the arena. It’s a great location and I would definitely stay again.

C L Moncrief Sr: This was my first time back at this Embassy Suites by Hilton in more than 6 months. The staff has not changed, I've always had an excellent/outstanding welcome and gracious treatment and they continue to impress. Most of the rooms have been upgraded and remodeled, and are amazing. As an Honors Reward member, I especially enjoyed the room upgrade on arrival. If ever in DC, this is the next best place to call home. Breakfast is included, and the omelets are unmatched by any hotel restaurant in the region. I'll give you a sneak peak of what to expect..... never mind the guy in the mirror

Linda Maneen: Every staff member was great, helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Each did an excellent job in representing Hilton. The rooms definitely needed upgrading, so it is good that renovation is underway. Some guests were obnoxious, but that could not be helped. Fewer dogs would have been nice, too. The breakfasts and happy hours were most enjoyable. Because of the staff, five stars were earned.

Laura Taylor: This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The staff are excellent. I would like to mention Jessica, Richard and Brigitte who provided excellent service. The breakfast and manager’s reception are great. The rooms are clean, but during the course of our stay (that is why I have only given a 4 rating). The rooms could have been cleaned a bit better. One day, our garbages were not emptied. Overall, it was a good experience, but with the room blocks for the conference I attended, I was not able to stay a day longer that I needed to.

Derek Kruger: Don't forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your place. This website will compare countless booking web sites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This hotel is the best rated in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you will love it I'm sure! I enjoyed staying at this hotel so much.

Allison H: We typically love embassy suites. Location here is excellent. The hotel is under major construction. We had to step over uneven floor and construction zone in lobby. Room was large but exceptionally worn. Stains on carpet and sheets. Worn arms on chairs. We were woken up to a jackhammer at 730 am on Saturday. People on our floor had a pot party. We talked to manager who did try to make it up to us. They said they kicked out people with the pot. Very friendly staff. Many people came to breakfast in bare feet. Parking is very expensive at over70 per night with tax. Might be ok if completely renovated in future. Very different experience and level of clean than any other embassy suites we have ever stayed.

Lauren L: The location was honestly perfect, and the rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were all incredibly helpful, kind and knowledgable. I appreciated how they easily gave us a late checkout, and held our bags at no fee for the day during our last day in the city so that we could go out and about (we had an incredibly late night flight and didn't want to lug our stuff around). There is construction going on currently, which staff warned us about, but it wasn't too much of a bother at all (and I assume this place will be even better once it finishes). I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat, and I wholly recommend this hotel.

Katie Parsons: Hotel is nice and clean. Friendly staff. Valet parking is $69 for them to park it in a garage under the hotel🤯 of you ask where else you can park they (valet) will tell you no where, it’s too dangerous if you don’t park with them but couldn’t explain why. Complementary and made to order breakfast. Complimentary happy hour. There is no restaurant at the moment it’s being built and the pool area no longer has a hot tub so that was misleading. The hot tub and restaurant are why we booked here so that’s a disappointment. Pool is very small but other than those three things the stay was wonderful.

Joy Rabideau: Overall, we were very happy with this choice! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the included food and drinks were a nice perk, our renovated room was very nice, the location was great, the elevators were fast, the pool actually being open was great since many hotels have theirs closed right now. I only didn't rate a 10 because of the construction, which really didn't bother us much, it just would have been nice to have the full lobby and restaurant open.

Days Inn by Wyndham Silver Spring: what do users think?

Taylor Dungan: Absolutely terrible. Walked into the room after checking in and immediately walked out to cancel the booking. I wish wish wish I would have looked at the reviews prior because none of them were lying. Starting off with the smell, horrendous. My friend and I got a non smoking room, but it smelled as though it was a smoking room. There was holes in the sheets, black mold inside the fridge, and as I open the fridge, a LIVE COCKROACH crawls around inside it. This isn’t mentioning that there were white spores on the floor, counters hadn’t even been wiped down and the door looked like it had been broken into multiple times. I didn’t even set my blanket or bag down on the bed because who knows what’s in there. Easily the worst hotel I’ve ever had the displeasure of booking. The best part of the hotel is the fact that I was able to get a full refund after speaking with hotels.com (I booked through them). Save yourself the headache and potential heath problems and spend a little extra at a nicer hotel. This place should be shutdown immediately.

Jenny Toleson: I definitely should have read the reviews before staying. I was in desperate need of a place to stay and this was one of the most affordable. I should have just spent they extra 15 dollars for a better motel. The room smelled bad. The air conditioner was barely blowing air. There was rust on the fridge. The wifi was going in and out. The TV has terrible wiring and the picture kept going in and out. The bed spread had multiple cigarette holes in and the pillows were flat and small. I would not be coming here again. I am glad my stay was short.

lola logan: Hotel needs an upgrade. This morning when I got up, there was a roach crawling up the wall! Do better guys your rooms really suck! Cleanliness is next to Godliness, you’re not on the way to the heavenly gates. I couldn’t get the roach picture up, but that’s so gross.

Ashley Stark: The nauseating condition of the room and property is the beginning. The fact that I trusted a property because it is a "Wyndham" hotel made this grossly inferior experience far worse. Congratulations Wyndham. We will never book a Wyndham hotel again for any travel. Period. You thought you would scoop up a fleabag in DC and instead of investing in making it habitable you instead dupe travelers with the name. I intend to do my part to rectify the perception that your properties are quality trusted sites. They're not and your willingness to engage in poor practices should be shared. Exposed wires, foul smelling carpet, old saggy mattress, seedy everything.

Stefanie Contessoto: The room was not all bad, it was kinda clean, but at night you could hear the rats walking inside the walls. I saw a cockroach walking on the wall. They also charged me for the whole stay up front and then, when I left 2 nights before my reservation ended, charged me again. I'm trying to get a refund now but their phone doesn't work. Never coming back again.

Sharon Christie: Do NOT stay here. THREAT TO PUBLIC SAFETY. This motel should be condemned and closed OR rebuilt from the ground up. We arrived to stay in our two double-bed, 'non-smoking' room. We were met with a smokey smelling, dark, dirty room with used matches on the filthy, stained carpets and multiple cigarette-burned holes in the bed spreads. There was mold and mildew on the walls, door jams and floor moldings. Within five minutes we saw two rats run across the front walkway right outside our bedroom window. We were utterly disgusted. A phone with no cord, broken chairs, small 8x8 lumpy pillows on the bed. Broken fixtures sitting on the counter top that had fallen off the wall. Utterly disgusting. They have NERVE charging upwards of $85 without tax. (I paid $130 online through a 3rd party booking agency.) CRAZY. We canceled our reservation, got our money back and went 10 minutes up the road to the Hilton Garden Inn and got a beautiful room with 2 QUEEN beds for $99 not including tax. The Hilton was in a different stratosphere, quality-wise. It was lovely and what it should be for this price. Thank you Hilton Hotel!! I would like to acknowledge Tedese, who helped us in the reception area. He was extremely kind and understanding. He deserves a medal of honor for working there. Tedese, you deserve a much better place to work!

Michael Watkins: ... sleeping is 😴 hygienically clinical for experience though is my favorite travel activities social + carpentry that's minimal - sweaty toilet surrounded aesthetics is know no answer. Not cohesive exterior - structurally don't forget to ask, where's my discount for reservation after sleeping guests? Too many words for traveler's either quality and move-in Airbnb.

Tax Man (Tax Man): The room from hell. Booked a accessible room with a handheld shower that wasn't there. What was a clogged shower drain, electrical wiring exposed, broken TV stand, burn cigarette marks on the carpet, electrical outlets that were inoperable broken furniture that fell down, and busted my foot. Enter at your own risk.

Ashley McCauley: UPDATE : after posting the prior review (upon returning from a dinner party) we went to sleep agreeing to wake up very early and vamoose this disgusting place. We didn't need to wait long. At about 3am we were awakened by a loud rustling sound. To our horror it was a large rodent that subsequently scurried underneath the dresser and then back across the room. On not so close inspection we easily located the LARGE mouse hole under the sink adjacent to the bathroom. There is no question that the property as well as, Agoda, the platform through which we booked, are aware of the mouseholes, rodent infestation, dilapidated fit and finish and utterly unsanitary conditions. We fled by 330 am and contacted the platform, Agoda, by email immediately as instructed by the sympathetic overnight clerk. Other than robo responses we have yet to receive a substantive response. As frequent travelers we will never patronize a Days Inn, Wyndham property or Agoda ever again and this review is a small component of our intent to warn others. Read the reviews. Our mistake was trusting that a "Wyndham" property would be up to our standards instead of reading for ourselves due to last minute trip. It was well below the standards of any reader/traveler and so much so I also intend to file a complaint with the local health department.

Hilton Garden Inn Arlington Shirlington: what do users think?

Lee Carman: Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. We stayed here for a week while visiting DC. Everything about this place was great. Room was spacious, front desk staff were very nice and the location was perfect. Countless places for grabbing a bite to eat or cold drink, there's even a movie theater, all within a 5 minute walk. We were throughly pleased.

Patricia Howard: Excellent Hilton quality minutes from the National mall. Well appointed small town feel with high quality cafes, restaurants and theaters within a blocks walk of the front door. Rooms are updated and clean with a mini fridge and microwave for convenience. Parking is included at a parking garage across the street. Has an indoor pool and hot tub open until 10pm.

Eric Patton: My room was clean, and the staff was not rude. However, the rooms cannot be cooled below 67 degrees, and your only blanket options are (1) sheets, and (2) an extremely heavy comforter. The "curtains" are just panels that you roll down (by pulling a chain) over the windows, and they do not cover the windows, meaning you will still get a fair bit of light in during the night. The pillows are paper thin and very cheap. On the plus side, the bars of soap were slightly bigger than those you usually get at a hotel, so there is that. If you like being really, really warm, you will probably love the hotel. However, if you need a cool (let alone cold) room to sleep in, you will not be able to sleep here. And while the aforementioned staff met the minimum standards of acceptibility, they still can't do anything to help you: No cool rooms, no thin blankets, no good pillows, no good drapes -- and, crucially, no refunds. I would strongly recommend that you consider other options to this hotel.

Norman Herrin: We reserved a suite for our four night stay just for a little extra space. We ended up in room #609, which was fantastic. It's like a mini apartment, located on the top floor and on the corner of the building with large window views from both sides. Both the living room and bedroom were very spacious, as were both bathrooms. If I'm in the Arlington area again, I will return to this hotel and hope to get the same location in the building. Fantastic employees, and surrounded by a great walking neighborhood with tons of restaurants. And a grocery store. And a movie theater. All within a view steps of this hotel.

CURB -N- SIGN Inc.: Very nice location. Not to far from DC but far enough from all the commotion and traffic. This hotel is located in a small compact little village. The village has a movie theater, restaurants and grocery store. The hotel is centrally located in the village and everything is in walking distance. The staff is very open and friendly. There is a restaurant and bar inside the hotel. Rooms are decent but the water pressure is very low unfortunately. Other than that great overall experience.

Adrianna C: Beautiful and clean hotel. Housekeeping puts seal on the door after they finish so that you know no one has entered once cleaned. Great area. It's right in the middle of Arlington's downtown with tons of restaurants and a grocery store. The only negative is that the pool is tiny. I'm very happy we stayed there and will stay here again if when we go back.

Jonathan Leo Connor: Great hotel in a great location! The Shirlington neighborhood has so many great restaurants and shops. The hotel itself was very comfortable and the staff was great! The bed was super comfy, the temperature controls worked really well, and the bathroom was well set up. It's also just a really short drive or bus ride into Washington from here.

Matt Rowicki: A great hotel option in a fantastic little development. Only con is that there is no direct metro access as the other Hilton garden Inn in Crystal city has so if that is important to you, go with that hotel. Parking is free although across the street but for me that was a positive as I was able to walk through the area a little more. Rooms are clean.

Wadsworthwomens Tennisleague: This is a great location. The staff is very helpful and a top priority is taking care of their guests. I want to give a special recognition to Zach, the front desk manager. He is very dedicated, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will stay here again. 🙂

Joseph Russell: My wife and I spend last week here. Our experience was wonderful. The staff was very helpful, polite, room was clean, comfortable, when we return we are sure to chose the Hilton Garden inn Arlington. I also like that a grocery store close and there were a variety of different place to get food without driving. We felt very safe here.

Residence Inn by Marriott Greenbelt: what do users think?

Vernon Robinson Jr: This place is tucked away in a great location. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I can't express how much nice of a place this hotel is... BUT, we either had bad luck or they were that bad. We were given our room and we drive to our area and it was poorly lit. We get to our room and it's very hot. The AC unit was broken and obviously needed maintenance as the cover wasn't on. I called down and we were quickly updated to a nicer room. While we were happy about the accommodation, there was really no benefit to us because we just needed a nice room and bed. So getting a kitchen was a nice upgrade, however, we didn't expect the refrigerator to make a loud screeching sound like a mouse was dying every TWO HOURS. On the day of checkout, I showed the video to the people at the desk to which they were going to have someone remove the fridge. They gave us a free night but it should've been free. Flute, maybe... I'd try them again but if it's another bad experience, I'd definitely go next door to the Hilton. And I still have the video...

Jessica Gadson: Not just great customer service but Exceptional Customer Service!!!! Wendy Williams was absolutely amazing like a breath of fresh air after our flight from Atlanta. The room was very clean and tidy. I was nauseated and Wendy went out of her way to leave me some ginger ale on my door. I wasn’t aware of the extra fee on my card but a simple visit to the front desk cleared that up. Great customer service will clear up any negative reviews as we all know people write more negative reviews than positive. I don’t go out of my way to write reviews however Wendy’s service speaks volumes! Thank you for exceptional customer service!

ana jimenez: When booking I was never notified the Residence Inn Greenbelt was under major construction. I was mortified after arriving from an 8 hour drive. After check-in, the associate Mike was very pleasant and notified me three times of the strict no smoking policy. I appreciated how forward he was a nonsmoker who deals with allergies. When opening the door to my room, the putrid smell of cigarettes hit me in the face. I immediately called down to Mike and he changed my room. He even confirmed that the odor was awful. The second room also had an odor. but was manageable. The carpet was not vacuumed and was full of dog hair, which caused me to have an allergic reaction. The next morning going to breakfast I was lost because nobody at let me know you had to go outside to get to the the lobby. The shower was dirty and difficult to operate because only one side opened. The staff were the best part; Mike, Wendy, and the breakfast/kitchen associates. I have to come back to Greenbelt a few more times this year and was hoping Residence Inn Marriott Greenbelt would be my place of respite.

Nicole Scott: A lot of issues with my original room. To include a super loud noise that I couldn't identify where it was coming from. Had the worst sleep that night because it kept happening like every hour. I had to record it because I know they wouldn't believe me without proof. Clogged sink, and missing amenities. Had to switch rooms after the first night. I truly expect more from Marriott brands. And after all the inconvenience all I got was a "sorry"

jagriti lamba: It was ok. Room was fine. There was smell in the elevator, and hallway. Bathroom had no body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. It did have hooks to hang bottles but no bottles. No water bottles in the market place. None in the room. Vending machine was out of order.

Rama Krishna: Very courteous staff, good rooms and excellent breakfast. Highly recommend. The staff really helped me and did everything to provide me a room when the neighboring Hilton Garden Inn did not honor my confirmed reservation and threw me on the street

B S: I have stayed at Residence Inns frequently. This one is not up to typical standard. Cleaning rooms once a week is something that should have been changed well over a year ago. The breakfast was subpar compared to other RIs. And usually coffee is available all day but not here. Shower had issues too. Not horrible but will look for another Marriot property in area next time.

Tiffany Hannah: Room was nice and appeared to be clean, but in day 2 of our stay we found several bugs. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

Six Flags America: what do users think?

Joshua Russell: We started coming here in the Fall of 2021 and decided to purchase season pass, they are very affordable. We have come a few times and I have been really impressed. They have different themes through the year which is nice to see how they decorate and celebrate. We have been to Halloween, Christmas and just went to the Fiesta theme. The wait times were really fast or nonexistent for all the rides. They had water sprinklers going which was good because it was so hot! Our family enjoyed all the rides throughout the day. There is always a staff member nearby ready to help which was really great to see and we saw a lot of people cleaning the park throughout the day. I do wish there was more mobile food ordering available though, when we were looking only one location was offering mobile orders, so hopefully that will grow. Overall great park for the family!
Response: We appreciate the review. Thank you for taking the time. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Alexandra Gross: Was very pleasantly surprised! Thought it was going to be a small cute park, but there was SO much to do there! The performers were absolutely fantastic and so talented in so many different shows! The park was very well maintained and all the staff were kind and friendly. I'm from NJ and this Six Flags definitely has mine beat!
Response: Thanks for the great review. Have a great day!

Tim Bergstrom: Great place to take kids in DC for a break from museums and tours. I enjoy museums and tours quite a bit, but let’s be honest, for kids, they can be little bit like a church service. Six Flags gave my kids and me a break from the usual and gave them a chance to blow off steam. Our favorite rides were Superman, Bat Wing, Joker’s Jinx and the Firebird. Have fun.
Response: Glad to learn your experience was a positive one. Hope to see you again soon!

Rittik Bhowmik: Great experience. Strong suggestion is to get the tickets online before visiting, there is almost always a long queue for tickets. Most of the rides were usually not that busy, so everyone can finish all the rides at-least ones, and can even go for seconds if interested.
Response: Thank you for the review. Have a wonderful day!

Jeremiah Gore: Needs another solid coaster as Superman Ride of Steel is great but where is the number 2 coaster? Some good rides throughout the park including a fun coaster built in 1917...The Wild One. By far this Six Flags has the friendliest staff of any Six Flags park... including multiple manager level employees we met while walking around the park.
Response: Hi, thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review of your experience. I am pleased to hear that our team made your experience pleasant and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

pam wright: Rides were barley open, lazy river, the pool with the purple slide, the purple & green slide, renegade rapids, penguin blizzard, shipwreck falls, & more ALL we’re NOT OPEN! I don’t understand why these rides are not open. You pay your money to come here, but it’s not worth it because more than half of there rides are not operating. What a shame Not to mention I have diamond elite membership, I pay 20$ extra per month for what idk? Need to cancel that! Update 6/28/2022 im going to change my rating from 1 star ⭐️ to four stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I came back here again to give them another chance. Can you believe it after maybe 1-2 years the finally opened the lazy river.. Wow renegade rapids, penguin blizzard, shipwreck falls, was opened today. It’s good to arrive early get a good spot, we ordered food it was ready and condiments was available. 🤩 However, the staff there are really young and the don’t know how to talk to people & families. They all act like they don’t want to work.
Response: We appreciate the review. Thank you for taking the time. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Terri Young: If you want to be able to ride the rides without a long wait go early during the week.. We were able to ride the rides several time without a long wait park is not that crowded when u go early it was a nice experience 😉. By the time we were ready to go the park was getting a bit crowded....
Response: Thank you for the rating. If you’d like to share any details about your experience, we are always looking for ways to improve.

Shah Md Mayen Uddin Chistee: This a great family fun place. There are so many rides that you will never get bored. I enjoyed most of the rides I took. You can take your kids there and they will love it. I recommend buying online entry ticket and parking pass. This will save some time for you.
Response: Hi Shah Md Mayen Uddin, we’re thrilled to get this kind of feedback. Thank you for taking the time to review us. Hope to see you again soon!

tammy mcilhaney: Wait ?? There are rides here ?? Could’ve fooled me!! Everything is closed! Workers cranky! Burger was a joke! Shops closed “register” issue. Maybe 1/4 of the food stands open. Maybe 1/2 the rides open. Got stuck on the Superman! The one operator for a ride abandoned her post because of a spider!
Response: Hi, we appreciate your feedback and would like to hear more from you regarding your experience. Please reach out to us at vipsupport@sixflags.com, so we can better assist you.

Christopher Lew: tl;dr: Relatively inexpensive tickets for a pretty fun time, although the park does its very best to nickel and dime you. Park is pretty small, but can definitely do the entire park in 1 day (depending on ride lines). Rides - 3/5: The roller coasters were very fun! The wooden roller coasters look like they could fall apart at any moment, and are so rickety it made our party very nauseous. My favorite was the batwing, and the waiting times were not crazy. It could be the time of year but the average wait time for the rides were ~ 5 minutes. Getting to the park - 4/5: Buying tickets online was very straightforward and you are paying for both Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor which is the water park. Very easy access from DC (only a 30 minute drive). Parking online is cheaper than at the gate, but when we went the POS stations were down, so they let us park for free ($30 normally)! Lots of parking with good markings to remember where you parked. Very little security at the door which was kinda concerning, but we were able to bring in snacks. Food - 1/5: We were very nauseous from some of the roller coasters, and wanted to buy some ginger ale, and it was literally 6 dollars a bottle. There is a mildly concerning food stall called ChopSix (like six flags) with "Chinese" font that served knock-off panda express at double the price. Very overpriced. We kept food in our car, and went outside the park (we could reenter) to eat.
Response: Hello, Allow us to take a closer look at this for you. Please contact us at vipsupport@sixflags.com with your information so we're able to best assist you. Thank you.
