The Pub & The People: what do users think?

Ethan Z: Great Restaurant!! This Restaurant is in the city area and offers indoor and outside seating!! The menu is rather small but the food and drinks were great!! The wait staff were friendly and professional!! The restaurant was also clean and well presented. The bathrooms are coolly decorated too with people sending pictures in of there family pets in to be featured on the wall. Overall great!

Becky Gomez: Such a great spot for a lonely, taveling vegetarian! 😂 Bar service was superb and a delightful vibe. Great beer selection. Perfect shishitos 🌶️ and tempura cauliflower!

AJ Hendricks: Pub and the People is our favorite outdoor spot in Bloomingdale. The beers they have on tap are great, and the food (specifically, the Black Bean burger and "The Heidi" Fried Chicken sandwich) is very solid. The tempura cauliflower sauce is also amazing. Matt, the manager, is very friendly and just a welcoming face to see when you come in. This radiates through the whole staff. The happy hour specials are awesome, and run for most of the day on the weekends. Enjoy!

Parker Kelley: Very great experience here ! We’ve passed this place numerous times and I’ve always said I wanted to try it. So, we finally did ! I ordered the Heidi chicken sandwich which was very tasteful. It came with a side of fries which were also very good. The service was great - 3 or 4 people continuously came to check on us. I’d definitely eat here again.

Bobbi DeAnda: Such a great brunch spot! The outdoor patio is pup friendly (and the bathroom inside is a must see for dog lovers haha). The biscuits and gravy with fried chicken was TO DIE FOR. So yummy! Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Callum Wayman: A great local pub for people in Eckington and Bloomingdale. The pub offers a great selection of beers, wine, and cocktails as well as an excellent food menu (try the tempura cauliflower, chicken sandwich, and the fries). In the winter they offer group seating around large fire pits for small gatherings. I found that to be a huge boon when trying to gather friends outdoors while being mindful of COVID during the winter. The staff are nice and helpful.

Amy Burdon: Had dinner and played trivia - food menu was fairly short but with lots of tasty items - I enjoyed the curry wings and gazpacho. Staff were friendly, happy hour drinks were a good deal. All positives!

India Lindsay: Very friendly, cute neighborhood joint. Food and drinks are all pretty good. The wait staff are so friendly and laid back. It's a great spot for a casual drink after work or meeting up with a few friends in an easy-going atmosphere

Daniel Albert: Not sure what happened to this place. The drinks we got were fine, but the food was pretty subpar. Got the Cuban sandwich and the fries that came with it were way too peppered and salty. The food used to be great here. The vibe is still good - cozy and perfect for winter time.

Sanderson Tattersall: OK, I've reviewed a lot of restaurants, and this one was a chance encounter. Trip to DC, Air BNB nearby, popped in on our last night. Very cool decor, loved the shelving behind the bar with the books and booze mixed, industrial chic. Waitress was great, bartender was great, food was even better. My family of four all got different burgers and sandwiches and all were fantastic. Taps were pretty stellar and they had my favorite Great Lakes Brewing Co. beer, the Elliot Ness. My only regret is not actually living in the area so I can go back. TLDR definitely recommended. Get your A in here.

Froggy Bottom Pub: what do users think?

Ann Faust: We came here during a quick visit to DC on a Saturday afternoon. The pub food I ordered (Fish & chips) was very nice. Proper fish pieces were hand-battered and fried crisp. One of my kids had the PHÒ and it was unexpectedly wonderful. Simple noodles and meat but the broth were exceptionally good. Moses was the gentleman who served our food. I say he was also a 5-star server, quick, witty and nice. I would definitely like to come back when we are around.
Response: Thank you so much for the great review . We are so glad you had a nice lunch served by Moses . I make sure to let Moses and kitchen staff know about your comment . Hope to see you again in the near future . Best . Hien

M planetmike: At first glance, this looks like any bar/ restaurant in DC. The selections of fried edibles like hot wings, burgers, etc... seems to confirm this. And there is the long bar with Guinness on tap which are also familiar sights in so many other bars. Before you turn to exit to look for a more unique place, or take comfort with it's familiarity, look more closely at their menu. There is a section dedicated to Vietnamese dishes. We tried some and found them delicious! Vietnamese food at Froggy Bottom Pub? These words shouldn't be in the same sentence let alone in the same place. Located at the corner of K Street an 21st Street, this is worth the walk from either GW Metro or Farragut North Metro.

Jessica Martin: Got Pho Froggy to go (go in and ask to order takeout) and it was delicious and fresh. Best part was the kind and considerate service, though. I’d like to go back during their happy hour, since it looks like they have really cool cocktails and I felt a comfortable vibe the time I spent there. Also they clearly mark gluten free (and other allergen) items on their menu, which is always very much appreciated.
Response: Hello Jessica. Thank you so much for great review . I am so glad you enjoyed the Pho and will let my staffs know about your review. Please come for happy hour and I like to meet you. Best. Hien.

Daniel Ruiz-Rossi: Excellent. Really good Chicken Pho. The búfalo wings were fantastic too. It was my first time there. I didn’t feel like drinking tonight but it seems they have really good beers as well. Just give it a try! It’s good.

Cliff Stone: Owners are Vietnamese - two of the nicest and sweetest people you'll ever find. Their little pug was cute too! Traditional food was outstanding. 5-STARS

Cindy Thompson: Variety and quality of food was incredible! We had a great time visiting with the owners while we waited for our food. Service was kind of slow, but they were brand new and she was trying hard! Overall a great experience and we'll be back.

Tina: Unexpected and great place, an odd combination of Vietnamese fair and pub food...everything was delicious. They had a private event when we went but we were able to sit outside, we got Cobb salad, pho and butter pasta (for our little guy). Service was awesome and food was good and reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.
Response: Good afternoon , thank you so much for the great review . We are appreciated your support and understanding . We are glad you had a pleasant time with us and I will certainly let my staff know about your compliment , Hope to see you again . Best . Hien

Joe Weaver: I had the Pho Froggy and it was excellent. Some other members of my party tried traditional tavern fare like cheesesteaks, and it was also great. The place has a nice vibe. The service was fast, friendly, and they got everything right even with a couple of us showing up late. Decent beer selection and good prices for the area. Only minor complaints I would register, and not enough to knock off a star, but I do perceive these reviews as an opportunity to give the owner feedback if they read it, so here goes... 1) the place was slightly warmer than my preference, not egregiously so, but just slightly. We were sitting in the front on a 90 degree day. 2) again, just my preference, but the stools at the high-top tables in the front do not have seat backs. I prefer seat backs for comfort. I would absolutely stop here again if I am in the area.
Response: Thank you for the great review . I’m glad everyone had a good experience with us . I will fix the chair and in-house temperature when you are here . Best . Hien

Francisco Lavorre: Ducked in with the wife for a quick drink and bite as it was the closest place to our hotel that wasn't five-star expensive. Reasonable prices and surprisingly good house beer, wife got a key lime martini that knocked our socks off. Ordered a pizza with low expectations but, again, pleasantly surprised with the depth of flavor. Could've found the same pie for twice the price at a high-end pizzeria. Only thing keeping this hidden gem from five stars was the atmosphere. I don't right much care what music you play in your place of business, as long as it's not blasting; and this was DEAFENING. Not even dancing music, which would've been strange enough in a bar that's obviously not a club, but some kind of electronic alt-folk hybrid. The seconds we had between songs were bliss, and an overworked yet unshakably pleasant server gave us much more time than we needed (outing less than thirty minutes turned into over an hour). If the owners read this, your food and drinks are spot on. Please make it so people dining don't have to yell their conversations.

Katie: My son and I were on a quick trip to DC, and our last meal before leaving the next day was at Froggy Bottom. It was hands down, BY FAR the best meal we had our entire trip in DC. If we had discovered Froggy Bottom when we'd first arrived, we would have visited several times. The first thing my son told my other kids when we got home was about how much we enjoyed our dinner at FB. The owner was there during our dinner, and she was so incredibly sweet. My son is a pretty picky eater, but I convinced him to try my spring roll. He loved it so much that he refused to give the rest of it back. Our server was excellent. We are already planning another trip to DC, and we will certainly be visiting Froggy Bottom when we return!

Shenanigan’s Irish Pub: what do users think?

Gabe: The bar staff was hella nice, but this isn't a friendly venue if you're a specialty performer. I always had fun at Shenanigans as a customer. Being told to change in the bathroom, having nowhere to put your belongings, and standing outside the bathroom (in basically your underwear) with all your stuff while a line forms... is not a pleasant experience. And apparently someone yelled at the other performer to get out of the only other place we had permission to change -- and that they could change in the bathroom -- in the middle of our performance? We only needed a couple more minutes to pack up and leave. That was embarrassing. Not a great night. :(
Response: 2 days before the private event the organizer inquired via a simple one question text asking if we had another place for people to change besides the bathrooms. I replied there was not via text back. Nothing was ever further discussed or requested about a changing area besides the first text message. We provided the venue free of charge and fulfilled all that was requested of us. Which was the venue, a seating area, security and access to our sound equipment. I even provided a sound tech and DJ free of cost.

Jackie O'Shea: My bar tender was amazing ! EVA was one of the best bar tenders I’ve had (and as an Irish drinker I’ve run into many bar tenders) I would come back every night if I could but only if she’s working !

Cate Vonich: This is a really fun bar heads up it gets very crowded so be prepared for it to be shoulder to shoulder everywhere until about 2 AM. Super fun staff and you can never go wrong getting a Guinness!

Yarborough Cleland: a relaxed bar with friendly patrons. Weeknights are rather relaxed, and compared to other bars in Adams Morgan, the drink costs are reasonable.

m rivera: A low key pub with chill people. Weeknights are pretty laid back and the prices for the drinks are affordable compare to the other bars in Adams Morgan. Weeknights are more busy since they have an open bar starting at 9pm, that tends to attract more of a younger crowd. The food is decent if you want something to munch on.

Chrissie Lacy: Just wanted to take a moment to recognize good people - bartender Ross took great care of our bachelorette group, and went above and beyond to help our friend who was having a rough night. Thanks for being so caring and making sure we got her home safely!

Matthew Lawlis: Not a real irish pub. As someone who loves irish pubs (the happiness, the music, the culture) i was disappointed by this place. It seems more like a dive bar atmosphere wise as it is does not hold that Irish pub warmth. It does have a food menu but of the three times i was there only once was the kitchen open, and only some of the fair is irish pub food, there is much better around. The worst crimr however is how cold and unwelcoming they are. 2 of the times i came in and it was dead yet no one acknowledged me. I waited 10 minutes and left. The other time they looked at me weird when i asked for food. I just find the place the opposite of what is advertised. Its a cold and hard dive bar, not a lively and friendly pub. I recomend staying clear.
Response: I am very sorry for the inexcusable service. Our kitchen is open until last call so please provide me what days of the week and time you visited. There will be consequences for the bartender/server on duty during your visit. However you are very misinformed about our beer selection. We carry 16 authentic Irish Beers including 6 on tap. That is the largest selection in Washington DC. We offer standard Irish Fare Shepherd's Pie, Guinness Beef Irish stew, Bangers n Mash, Fish n Chips and Corned Beef.

Colbey Steeke: Fantastic service. The bartender Eva was excellent. And the food was outstanding

popupdon: Great selection of Irish whiskeys and beers. Hour power on Saturdays 9-11 pm. $10 open bar. Good food too. Recommend the bangers and mash.

Queen Afua: Great quite place was an unexpected visit as the place we was planning on eating at was closed for renovations and we wasn't sure about the other restaurants and place had a 25 minute wait. We spotted Shenanigans and was unsure about it as it was of course all men inside but we sat down to have our lunch meeting and surprisingly we enjoyed the drinks and the food and the staff was friendly nice place to visit

The Dubliner Restaurant: what do users think?

H: I have never had a sublime turkey burger until I went here. Half a pound patties on toasted brioche buns with a side of thick cut fries. Great spot to hit a spot for pub food. The fries were a tad overly seasoned for my taste but I was thoroughly impressed by the burger of the day and the bison burger. Okay service. Restaurant is connected to a hotel in the back. Outdoor patio seating available. Nice atmosphere even though music was a bit too loud at times to converse.

Samar Al Kobrossy: Great place! The food is tasty and flavorful. The portions are big. The decoration is amazing. The waiters are attentive and can give you tips on how to navigate your way around the city. You can sit down, relax, and enjoy your food while listening to some beautiful Irish songs.

Kelly Hyer: Great local choice. Fabulous service and really great food. When in an Irish spot, must have the fish and chips. Seasoned fries- yum. Sooo good, highly recommend. Pretzel stix appetizer delish. Nice kids options too 👌 🌭 🍟

Brett Daviau: Breakfast was great. Salmon bagel with all the fixings. Poor server was trying her best to handle the whole shop by herself. Hope she can get some help. Delicious.

Thomas Suckow: The Monte Cristo sandwich was very delicious, the waitress said it was her mother's favorite and I can understand why. The meat was tender and cut easily with a fork despite the number of layers. Corn beef and hash was the best my wife ever had.

Bobbi DeAnda: AMAZING SERVICE!!! Food was ok, but the service was amazing. So friendly. So fast. So responsive. I actually left my sunglasses and someone ran them out to me!!! The French fries are AMAZINGGGGGG, but the rest of the food was just ok. Fish and chips, fish ok. Burger, ehh. I ordered the burger medium and it was well done. Probably a great spot for drinks and snacks, but wouldn’t go for lunch again. For drinks and French fries, YES!

Edward O'Beirne: Decent menu, good quality food, worth going again. Service was lackluster, possibly an element of understaffed but the place was nearly empty on a Friday afternoon 1pm. Greek salad with salmon was enjoyed. Philly cheesesteak about average. Cold beers. Nice outdoor seating view. Not first choice but would return.

Yvonne: From out of town and the Dubliner was our choice for dinner one night as it was close to our hotel. The service was meh, the place was quaint. The menu is small; however fish & chips were an option, I asked the waiter for his opinion between that and the Irish beef stew. He immediately said fish & chips. Three small strips of dry fish lightly breaded and lacking flavor, at least the fries were good, as was the pickle. I couldn't imagine what the stew was like if the fish was a better option. The salmon pastrami was said to be "ok" by my hubby. For the price of the food and the quality, it wasn't worth it to us, as we have enjoyed Irish pubs and this place doesn't hold a candle to any of them.

craig mossinger: This is an absolute must for lunch! Service is quick and friendly! Fish n chips and the Irish Rueben are phenomenal.

Steve Meier: Great place, and of course what do you order at an Irish Resturant? Fish & Chips and it was probably the best I have ever had. Some of my coworkers were Shepherd Pie fans and a couple others were more traditional and had a Chicken Sandwich. The common theme was everyone was happy with their meal. Service was great and atmosphere was pleasant.

Solly's: what do users think?

Aubri O'Connor: Hands down my all time favorite dive-bar in DC, and I say that with tons of love and respect. There is no pretension here, and all are welcome, you won’t go broke drinking, you can bring your to-go food, and there’s always something fun to do! Aside from their massive, excellent cover patio that lets you watch all the fun of U St, there are also two bars inside. Downstairs is where all the regulars begin and end their night, where the owners are just as likely to be behind the bar as the employees. Upstairs they hold events almost every night of the week - from comedy, to trivia, to bands, to plays. And of course Kostume Karaoke every Thursday, which is a crazy night of doing shots with the KJs on your birthday, and meeting crazy strangers wearing tiaras or judo gis (provided by the karaoke hosts) to sing! The walls tell the history of the bar, especially behind the bar and in the bathrooms. But the bartenders and regulars will tell you just as easily themselves - and what a long crazy history it’s been! Ask them about when the car crashed through the window, or the Caps won the Cup, or the neighbors almost sent it all crashing down during an ill-fated renovation. This is no a fancy dress up joint - although no one thinks twice if you walk in looking your best. You come here to be comfortable, to have well poured, affordable drinks, to have the bartenders become your besties, to meet your new best friends just chilling at the bar.

Quinten Goovaerts: Exceptionally good! Best bar and bartender in town! Lots of different drinks: many beers (local and international) and a lot of really good whiskey's We came there for a quick drink but it was so nice we stayed really long! Super friendly owner and always up for nice chat! I recommend this bar to everyone!!!

Scott Hughes: Solly’s is a perfect two-story dive bar. Memorabilia galore, cheap whiskey, and great service. There’s an ATM inside, Big Buck Hunter arcade game in the corner, and always amazing music playing. Ask for Antoine when you arrive.

Brittany Jeffries: I had a wonderful time at Sollys. I love to karaoke and have been bar hopping around the city trying to find a place. This one is pretty cool. I went in Thursday around 8pm and the bar is upstairs. There is a stage, costumes, and 3 mics available. Sound quality is dope, nice song selection. People actually participated in dressing up as well. I sang about 4 songs and had like 6 drinks LOL. Bartender was amazeballs. I had a fantastic night and can't wait to return.

Edward Kennedy: Went here before a show at the 930 club. Matt the bartender was great. He really knows his stuff. Def will stop by here again.

Richard Derrico: Good local working class bar. Friendly quick. staff. A bit grungy, but that's the character. Good place if your tired of the bling.

Anthony Oakes Comedian: They have great drinks upstairs. I think Quinton is the bar tender. Awesome Starr Struck Comedy shows. Good times were had.

Jessica Williams: If you're looking to tour the real of D.C. and U street, Solly's is definitely a stop you need to make. Real, unique, and a hidden gem that let's you escape the world but still watch it through a windowed nook with beer

Igor at skvltd.media: Fantastic and consistent U st bar with awesome staff, drink specials, and food!

Harriet M: A great dive bar! Friendly bartender, good prices and most importantly ice cold beer! Stayed in the neighbourhood during a recent trip to DC and come to Solly’s twice. Would recommend!

Penn Social: what do users think?

Axel Robertson: This place is absolutely amazing. The location is great, the place is massive like an iceberg, upstairs looks big but it's just the tip, downstairs is where the fun is. If you're a sports fan you have 360 degrees of giant screens showing all major professional sports. Staff are amazing. They make you feel at home. I'll be returning. Many times

Aaron-Micheal Blackman: Solid bar, decent food, good staff. Very much enjoyed the music on the lower floor, which has a dance floor and a few nice games. I imagine it can get more lively but it was almost empty at the time. I did enjoy the music selection though.

Black Star Dust: Penn social is a dope spot for watching sports! The downstairs area is filled with projector size screens and the sound system is a close second to being at the game. Great place to go check it you favorite teams and meet up with friends. They have other games to play like corn hole, basketball and giant sized Jenga. Lots of choices on tap and a full bar. Great spot.

Ashten B.: Atmosphere was great, blackberry frozen margarita was 🏾💋. Parking garage is super close. Couple things I wish were better when having tables for a live event would be too have the tables a little more spaced out and have more finger foods on the menu. I'll definitely be back!

Daniel Dias: Cool spot to hang out with friends have a drink and play some games. Staff was cool! Only complaint was online it said they would have the UFC fights on and when we arrived no fights. So had 2 drinks and left.

ThinkPink Cottages: We had a great experience at this place on Sunday. Our bartender Jasmine Was very knowledgeable and attentive we had Prosecco on tab with fresh orange juice pot pie and couple cocktails. This place is a great relaxing for easy beverage.

Natalie Thomas: Drinks are fine although they kept making my friends and I’s orders wrong (I ordered for a whiskey sour, got a gin and tonic, someone asked for a vodka cran, we don’t even know what we got.) The place is huge though and dancing is always fun and they play a variety of music which is nice! Kitchen closed before we got there sadly so don’t know what the food is like

Mayo Tracy: I really like this spot. Great music and the drinks were really good. Staff was friendly and I like the option of being able to purchase seats. Kevin Ross was amazing too.

erica chin: Went to see Kevin Ross at this venue. Show was supposed to start at 8:00 PM and at 8:20 show hadn’t started. The seating chart that was published for the show was different than how the seats were ranged for the show. Everyone was jammed into a small space and people were allowed to stand and block views of people who bought tables. Never coming back here. Horrible, horrible venue.

Jim Dalton: Had pictures of games. Not open unless large event. Happy hour prices are always applied. Wouldn’t come back.
Response: Hi Jim, I'm sorry your visit to Little Penn Coffeehouse didn't meet your expectations. We had to pivot after COVID and we're trying something new! I hope you give us another chance if you are ever in the mood for a craft cocktail, breakfast sandwich or a boozy coffee cocktail. Best,

Union Pub: what do users think?

Jameelah Lewis: So I came all the way from Vegas to have a great time with friends, and we made plans to eat at union pub. The atmosphere was nice, but unfortunately the dining experience differed. We had a party of 8 and they couldn't get anyone's order to the right place and they forgot to bring out requested items. This is not a fan fave and I recommend that you save your coins if you can or try something else!!!

Nickie Bishop: It’s a nice place to stop as there a great patio area and it’s close to activities. We got there on a Saturday when it opened so the service was fine. The food was disappointing. Ordered from the brunch menu - the cheesy French toast was terrible! Flavorless, crusty, cold and barely any cheese. Otherwise the menu was the usual bar food which seemed fine. Hubby had the burger and said it was “OK”. We were here a few years ago on a week day and it had a great lunchtime vibe!

Alexis Green: I ordered buffalo wings and sweet potato fries for pickup. It took about 15-20 minutes. I get there, and they tell me they're out of sweet potatoe fries. So they gave me regular fries instead. I was okay with that. However, when I checked my food, I saw they gave me barbecue wings. They took the food back to the kitchen, came back 2 minutes later and said my order was fixed. I check the food, and the "buffalo" wings looked really dark. The chicken looked different from before, but lighting made it hard to really tell. After coming home to better lighting, and taking a bite, I realized they really did toss the barbecue wings in buffalo sauce. Even the fries still had barbecue residue on them. I may have gotten my money back, but that was a lot time wasted on disappointment.

Richard Mahaffey: Another very nice venue and very popular happy hour gathering place. Patriots are very friendly and happy. Also employees appear to be happy and seem to love their job and the people that come there...

Alex Lafond: Came here alone one night after work for a beer and food, entered through the patio where the was a sign that said "wait here to be seated". So I did. I sat there for 10 minutes while the bartender walked past me 5 or 6 times before acknowledging I was there. When he did, his first words to me were "Can I help you?" in a snotty tone. I replied yeah sign says wait to be sat, and he rolled his eyes and said "Sit wherever you want". Waitress only came over after 10 minutes to take food and drink order. After everything came out, only saw her again when she said, "Would you like the check?". Only reason this review is getting a 2 star and not 1 is because the food was actually ok and not absolute trash. During my time, the bartender just openly complained about anything and everything and was just not an over all pleasant person. I have been back one time since, didn't get any attitude, but service was slow as hell. Likely won't be coming back unless I have no other option or am really hungry and dont want to wait.

Ren Jax: Any place with sweet potato fries is already thumbs up for me. Aside from that, the staff was present, and friendly. The food was seasoned just right, and I loved the portions served. We sat on the patio around lunchtime, which looked like it was used for extra storage space in some sections. A little crowded, the tables and chairs could probably be arranged to better utilize the space, or just use less of them in the space.

Gus Nordhielm: Unbelievably aggressive and condescending manager. She spoke to my partner in an incredibly demeaning manner and refused us service when I asked her not to speak to us that way.

Xenon Booth: Great outdoor space for those not ready for indoor mingling yet. Remember to pack your proof of vaccination and photo ID (not on phone). Drinks are reasonably priced though service was a little slow.

Emily Smith: Definitely check out Union Pub! The bartenders were so sweet and the food was just awesome. Really great atmosphere both outside and in the back at the bar. Check it out asap!

Jason Dubar: We were in the area and needed to escape the heat and find a nice drink to cool off with. So, finding good reviews for Union Pub, we decided to give it a try. I ordered a local beer and my fiance wanted one of their mixed drinks they offer - they were out of the ingredients. Ok, no problem. She ordered a different mixed drink - nope, out of those too. Feeling defeated, she ordered a beer, which the bartender said was good...it was not, but it helped beat the heat. We did not try their food, which must be good, as there was a good sized crowd seated outside.

The Game Sports Pub: what do users think?

Patrick Poculan: Must try dinuguan! Crispy pork belly was perfect and the noodles. They have great cocktails too. Nice patio location and great service

Jay Vizcarra: Sports bar with Filipino food and Tiki drinks? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat! Nicely tucked on 18th street with phenomenal food and plenty of TVs to catch any game (F1 included). Upstairs hip Tiki restaurant. Food is to die for! Pancit topped with Lechon? Halo Halo, Ube Cheesecake!!!

Lauren Toms: Had the best time here watching our team in March Madness! Tristian was a saint and went out of her way to make our experience fun and memorable. We’re so grateful!

Paul Delagrange: We went the Game on a Saturday to watch football and grab a couple of beers. Plenty of TVs, good seating, super friendly staff!! Their selection of bourbons is fantastic. One of the owners told us he sells the bourbon he has at his own house. We only had the Lumpia but man was it good!! Authentic and fresh!

jemmairose eddy: I would have given this bar a 3 star if my Sisig dish was good and also I ordered a Martini and it was served in a tiny margarita glass. My hubby was happy with his spicy chicken sandwich. The egg rolls and shrimps appetizers were good too. Then the bill was over $90 for the 4 dishes and 1 drink.

AJMDF LOCA: Fabulous! The food is divine. The cocktails are addictive. Atmosphere is chill!
Response: Thanks for the kind words. Please join us soon!!!

Sally Xmd: The only reason it isn’t 1 star is because the wait staff are amazing and attentive. Review is purely based on food, no drinks ordered at this location. First off, holy fry oil Batman- this fry oil is older than my cat. Fries so dark they look like they deserve reparations. The chicken skins are questionable at best. Weird texture and off flavor. Got the Nashville chicken sandwich and same issue. I don’t know what they coat their chicken skin in but this black woman from Kentucky does NOT approve. The final straw was they serve burgers, but have no gluten free buns. Unacceptable as they are literally 25 ft (or less) from the best gluten free bakery in the whole state. *bonus points that they partner with tiki on 18

Punk Pagong: Awesome food and drinks, great atmosphere and pleasant staff. IG@punk_pagong

Yohannes Tafesse: The food was great. However, our bartender Shaena was terrible. Our food took forever and when we asked how much longer, she yelled at us, I can get you to go boxes if you like. She even did get us to go boxes as soon as our food arrived. It was a very disappointing and disrespectful experience.
Response: Yohannes, Sorry for your experience with us. We have addressed these issues and it took longer than anticipated. We would appreciate you giving us another opportunity. Hope you will. Cheers,

William Schuster: I mistakenly placed this review for Tiki on 18th prior and realized that this bar is a separate entity entirely but located below. TLDR: Visited this place Saturday night. This place had mediocre service and was overpriced, expect to wait a long time for warm drinks. Last night we visited a couple of bars on 18th street in celebration for my friend and unfortunately this was our first stop of the night. We got there around 10:30 and the place wasn’t too packed. There was immediate seating available for all 6 of us. That was nice. The management must be unaware that there’s limited phone service in there because it took a while for the menu to load from scanning the QR. I don’t know whether there is or isn’t any physical beer menus. I waited after ordering 2 beers for myself and 2 beers for my friend over 25 minutes from when we were seated until when the beers were brought to the table. I say this because around 10 minutes into waiting I looked over and saw the four beers were sitting in cans, opened, on the bar counter. I kept my eye on those until we got them and yes they literally let our drinks sit out and get warm before serving them. Keep in mind the bar was not in any way overrun during this time. It seemed like a Wednesday night in the place. We received the drinks and they were absolutely warm but our mixed drinks that my friend ordered didn’t come for another ten minutes. I had to ask and wait again for a glass just to put my warm beer into. You would think for $8 a single can of beer could be poured into a glass first, right? As we tried to split the table into two bills the bald bartender came over and got angry. This starts the verbal altercation! (Is the customer not always right?) He kept saying and raising his voice “it’s house rules we can only accept two cards and can only do 50/50”. We were only requesting to use two cards but have our bills split differently because there were two subgroups to our outing. We weren’t at any point asking for every single one of us to be charged separately. While I realize that’s complete BS I wanted nothing more than to leave after being there so long for warm beers and terrible service. So I said “take my money I want to leave and I will not be back” about three times. He kept arguing and yelling “It’s house rules!” In response even though I was agreeing and knew I was about to be changed $58 for 4 warm canned beers. I still tipped our waitress even though she didn’t seem to care about the terrible service or the fact her manager was being a child. The unfortunate reality is that this is what most bars are like in this area. Incredibly over priced, terrible service, and the customer is never right. It was two minutes later he swiped my card and I was able to leave. The bottom line is the staff here are either rude, not trained enough to do their job, or too busy dancing to the music to provide you with service. It was funny hearing him say he wasn’t arguing with me after raising his voice. “ITS HOUSE RULES!” Will now be used by my friends and I every time we have terrible service. Note to management: I have used that exact point of sale / merchant services software I saw on your tablet. I know it’s absolutely possible to fix the error of our waitress for not splitting the tab. Which we initially asked for. I wanted to like the place but in reality everything about our experience sucked. If you want to have a better bar get better employees or train them better on the software. If you just want to keep partying behind the counter and serving guests overpriced warm beer then so be it, but there’s totally more people like me who LOVE to leave honest reviews. I have no regrets about causing a little scene because this place really did let me down! I am anticipating a response to this review in which you paint me as the bad guy in order to cover your own, however if you apologize and promise to improve that would look much more professional. Let’s see how the management reacts to this honest review, shall we?
Response: William, We apologize about your lengthy time on waiting for beers. Completely agree - regardless of how busy or not busy you shouldn’t wait that long for beers. I do understand your frustration with the QR Codes. It’s pretty much a standard everywhere nowadays after COVID. The efficiency with them is great. As for the issue with service we are aware and offer WIFi throughout the building. No password is required. As for splitting checks - yes it’s possible and yes the server should have been more accommodating and it will be addressed. Guest service should be still a priority and that is not the right way to handle on our part. In our defense we clearly state on all menus at the top that we boy split checks on two cards. This is obviously to be more effective on our part. Still not an excuse on the additude given to you. Lastly as you highlighted we are priced competitively to our neighbors. So realistically we are not over priced. Sorry you felt that we are. Please let us know if you choose to give us another opportunity. Email us so we can ensure you have a great experience. contact@thegamedc.com Cheers, Management lol

Board Room: what do users think?

Emilie Buck: This was such a great find! My girlfriend and I were walking around DuPont Circle and stepped in to Board Room. There are two floors inside with ample seating. They don't serve food, but they have a discount with the pizza company nearby or you can bring in food from outside. There were a bunch of games to choose from, covering all genres, amount of players, and skill level. The bar also seemed well stocked, and the bartender on duty seemed nice. I'd definitely go again.

Abdul Kader Surti: I absolutely love board games and this place has an amazing collection of games. The drinks are great and they make a mean spiked hot cocoa! I wish there were some snacks to munch on, other great place to hang with friends

Ciara B: Margarita pizza was disgusting. Came out lukewarm (barely that). No taste and just a real disappointment. Do not order. Atmosphere is nice and they have a large selection of board games

Samantha: So much fun to grab a few friends and shake off the workday here. Their happy hour deals are insanely good, especially for DC. $4 rail drinks & $4 drafts. Games are free to rent during happy hour, too! Loved the bartender.

Kyle Goodman: An amazing place to hang out! Board game selection is excellent, drinks are tasty and the atmosphere is just what you're looking for. We have visited DC twice in the last couple months and this has become our go to spot. You know you're in the right place when they play Jeopardy! on the TV.

Helen Michie: Attractively decorated Dupont Circle bar and young adult hang out spot in a very trendy DC neighborhood. Great place to have a party. Has unisex bathrooms.

Jeff Corcelius: Good drinks, awesome courteous staff! Go play, drink, and have fun!

Cimmanon K: Went here right after going to a sushi bar, and boy did it scratch the right itch for game night lol. I wasnt told about this place, as bringing me there was a surprise, but the miniature golf, the drinks, and the company were all wonderful. Great staff there too!

Andriana Genualdi: Great bar for chill hanging out with friends. I went there recently in the late afternoon to play some board games with a couple of friends and we had a great time. We ended up sitting at the small round high top tables that’re near the bar, there was enough room for card games and battleship but I suggest if you have more than 2 people you pick a larger table so you don’t have to worry about losing pieces onto the floor. My friends seemed to enjoy the beer selection and I opted for a glass of house wine on happy hour

Lucius Domitius Aurelianus (Augustus): Good selection of drinks and games to play, its also possibleto hear each other in most parts of the time. Only problem you'll run into is the lack of seating!

The Lucky Bar: what do users think?

Saif Al-Alawi: This is the official supporters bar for Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United. They offer some local IPA and I recommend the 3 Stars if you love your simcoe hops. The bathroom upstairs is a work out but clean. Glad I hit it early before those United fans stunk it up.

Becky Gardiner: Watched the euro semi final here! Great sport pub... Some amazing football scarves all over. Beer flowing and plenty of TV's - staff were really friendly!

Joe Joemer: The breakfast was excellent, the staff was very nice, and the rates were fair. Fantastic collection of draft beers chosen by a beer expert.

Anna: The bold old grumpy bartender (owner?) Spoke at nausium about showing UEFA game only for us to drive 30 minutes. Once we came into the bar, he said "we didn't tell him it was a live stream" (I did twice) and that he had never heard of Paramount . He kept saying that the bar will close in an hour and he needs to have dinner with his daughter (who cares). After 12 minutes of such monologue, we left under his screaming cussing terrade

Alex McKnight: Best bar in DC for soccer fans! I'm a Manchester City fan myself, but Man United, Arsenal as well as national fandoms all congregate here on matchdays and it's always a good time. Drinks are reasonably priced, food is good, can't go wrong. My only advice is to get here early during important matches, the bar definitely has a limited capacity and may not let you in if it has filled up, especially during Covid.

Samantha Elizabeth: After being rejected by Decades nightclub, my boyfriend suggested Lucky Bar for drinks. I liked how dices of different sizes were mounted within the bar counter. When we sat at the bar, at first we had to wait to place a drink order. I asked for a drink menu and the bartender Shannon asked what kind of drinks I liked. They had three types of ciders - Magners, Woodchuck, and Angry Orchard. I ended the night with an Angry Orchard.

Geoffrey Fleming: Excellent bar, good atmosphere for sports and good on prices for both food and drink. Ordered a Philly cheese steak and it was delicious. Great selection of beers and food. Definitely recommend for anyone around the area looking for a good sports bar and excellent service. The bar staff were excellent, especially the lady Shannon who took care of us all night.

Michael Wiredu: The atmosphere is electric win lose or draw. Great place for Gunner fans. And the food is very good.

Todd Boppell: Great place to catch an Arsenal game! Staff is super friendly, breakfast was great, and prices are reasonable! Awesome draft beer selection curated by someone who knows beer.

Skanbass: Good sport bar. I went there a lot during the African soccer cup. One of the only bar that passes the games.

Duffy's Irish Pub (Dupont Circle NW): what do users think?

M.: Great place to watch a rugby match. Wish they had more than 1 TV outside but whatever, you get to make friends. Local teams also hang out here, and it was fun to meet some other players. Would recommend. Food was also well beyond typical pub food and was in fact quite good.

SM Smith: Eli was hospitable the other night, but his “boss” or manager so hyperactive tonight. Yelled at an older man who mistakenly lit a cigarette. When I asked about the whereabouts of Eli, got angry and ego-centric that he was Eli’s boss, and that he had sent him home earlier, blah blah. Who cares dude? Just be a top notch friendly bartender, not a rude dude. You need to seriously chill. This place could be great, but needs some ego check. Was fine earlier in the week food-wise and service-wise before anti-customer service reps came in to swing their experience and ego against easy customers. Hire new people to make your vibe right.

John Evans: Great experience at a long time DC restaurant relocated to my neighborhood. Loved the fish and chips recommended. This is the new West End spot for casual dining, beers, drinks and sports TV everywhere. Happy Hour prices for food and drinks. Wings!!

BigMaMaSaiyan: I LOVE the Buffalo wings. The bleu cheese dressing is fresh and full of cheese. These alone are worth the trip. Good service and even better drinks make it a fabulous date night.

bigman250: I went to this place on the recommendation of my friends for their good food.. I got an attitude from the guy taking order. I asked him he was having a bad night. he said no. I am a black American, the only one in the restaurant, he was not accommodating at all. I ordered a ruben and fries and a Guinness while I waited he acted like I was bothering him with my request. I told him if he did not want my business I would go else where. I know when I am disrespected after my order was filled. If you are a POC, do not go to this place unless you want to be disrespected. The Rueben was not that good too.

john hammond: The menu was pretty much what you would expect --- basically fried. But, suprisingly, it includes a number of Central American dishes. The deal breaker was the insouciance of the management and server. Never again.

April Thomas: This Pub is exactly what you want to fall into whether you have been here before. Great atmosphere and you can't get better "family ' feel. Love you guys~when you come to Phoenix, let us know!

Parker Kelley: We googled this place and saw it was noted for the best wings in DC! We had to try it ! I got the fried chicken burger which was good, but wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. My fiancé got the wings with hot barbecue & Buffalo hot - he says they were 10/10. We were expecting the wings to be tossed in the sauce instead the sauce was poured on top, however, it didn’t take away from the flavor ! The atmosphere was great & we came on Tuesday trivia night. Would definitely recommend it to others for the wings !

Martin Brennan: Great little bar excellent food and service.Richard and his Staff are amazing and the bar captures a great friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit. Definitely will visit again in the future.

Jen Putnam: I LOVE DUFFY'S!!!!! Great rugby bar! Fantastic atmosphere and Ruchard is the best bar tender! (Nolan is ok too. 😉)

Post Pub: what do users think?

Hilda Kroll: My Diplomat Bacon Cheddar burger ($12.95) with sweet potato fries ($3) was so good and very reasonably priced for so much food. A good place to enjoy a relaxed, casual lunch.
Response: Thank you for taking your time to review us, Hilda! We are really glad to hear you had such a great experience. We look forward to having you back soon.

Nikoloz Gogilidze: very friendly service and nice public. I have been there twice and enjoyed both times. Burger is really nice and they offer to prepare meat even rare which is not an option in every bar.
Response: Thank you Nikoloz :) We are happy to hear you had such a great experience at Post Pub. We look forward to hosting you many more times in the future

Kat Dean: I never write Google reviews, but I've got to give it up to Post Pub. I work nearby and pick up lunch from them occasionally. Y'all, their spicy chicken sandwich with the truffle fries is a smash. It's so good. And I've had drinks there too and their whole atmosphere is great. It's a classic, an actual dive bar in downtown. I'm just so thrilled that they're back!
Response: Thank you so much Kat! We appreciate your feedback and support- looking forward to having you back in again soon :)

Mark Orebiyi: A friend and I got a drink and some dinner at this location recently and we were very happy about the service. Unfortunately the food did not match. We both ordered a fried chicken sandwich and were extremely upset. We relayed our disappointment to the manager and he seemed receptive.

Lisa Sullivan: All the way from Vermont and am loving this outdoor patio, mixed drinks during happy hour and a really amazing bar tender!
Response: Thank you so much for the kind review Lisa :)

Emma Austin: I felt so welcomed at Post Pub. The staff was over the top and extremely friendly. They were constantly checking in on us. The drinks were great. We only got one order of fries and they were good too. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.
Response: Thank you Emma! We are so happy to hear you had a great experience with us- please come back soon!

Joe Joemer: excellent customer service and kind people. I've gone there twice and have had a good time both times. Even rare meat can be prepared, which is not always a possibility in bars, and the hamburgers are particularly good.
Response: Thank you, Joe!

kristen jones: Went here at 9pm on a Saturday night with two friends. Ordered 3 beers totaling $20.90. Paid with $30 cash and the bartender took my money and didn’t give me any change. When I asked for my $9.10 change (with full intentions of tipping on the 3 beers we ordered) the (drunk) bartender went back to the register and got a $10 bill and slammed it on the bar in front of me and yelled in front of everyone “here you go, princess!” Apparently he thought he deserved a $10 (50%) tip on a check for three beers. I’ve been in the service industry for 15 years. This place deserves 0% gratuity for customer service. Would not recommend. Take your business elsewhere.

isela martinez: Drinks were good. Food took way too long for a simple burger, fries and mozzarella sticks. There only two other customers when we got there. The cheese wasn’t even melted onthe burger, the buns were burnt and mozzarella sticks didn’t even have mozzarella in them.Only came here cause Stans was closed. Next time I’ll just wait till theyopen. Server was nice
Response: Hi Isela- I am sorry that you had a less than satisfactory experience with us. Hi Isela. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration- we hope your next experience with us is better.

George Stover: The historic Pub in downtown DC is back. It was always cherished before and now with the new staff and menu, it can be cherished again. Go for the pub fare and stay for the experience.

Off the Record: what do users think?

Ariel Aviles: We loved this hidden bar, just a perfect "speak easy" located in front of the White House. Decor is very fancy, lighting is dark, all red walls with caricatures of politicians. Bartender was friendly, and we got some great cocktails. Perfect the end of a date, nice cousy space for great conversation and drinks.

Kimberly Giang: Came here for a light snack and drink before dinner. It was very crowded during Presidents Day weekend but we managed to find a 2 top table. Loved the cozy old fashioned lounge atmosphere. Even though it was insanely busy, our server managed to be very helpful and attentive. He did a great job running around the whole bar by himself. I did not get his name but the receipt said Vlad on it. He definitely deserved a shout out! My husband enjoyed his drink and I liked the soup!

Karen Riegler: What can I say? Amazing, amazing, amazing!Daughter took us on our visit to DC. Pear martini is oh so yummy! Lobster rolls. Potato croquettes , wedge salad! The staff is incredible! Can’t say enough about the experience! Must go

Paola Pritchard: Very old school vibes and men in suits. The drinks are good and the staff is friendly. Had the potatoes coquette with red pepper sauce that was so good.

MANDI ANDERSON: I'm not going to lie...I loved this place! It's located over by the White House, and was suggested to me when I was visiting family in D.C. It is pricey, but go at least once for the atmosphere! The food was high quality, with inventive flavor profiles. But the drinks were amazing...I had a great Old Fashioned, and was impressed by the bourbon selection. The atmosphere is incredible, it looks like you might run into a Congressmen or Senator at any given moment!! The caricatures were a nice touch, and the coasters were amazing...I took them home for my home bar. Definitely come check this place out at least once!

janet ringle: What a wonderful place; I'd give it 10 stars if I could! Great craft cocktails, good service and incredible bar snacks. And wow...the decor. Get there early though, or be prepared to wait. But if you do have to wait, it's worth every second.

Stephani Roohani: My favorite place to visit with all my girls on our annual trip to DC. We are always warmly greeted by the staff and can generally get in at a table with little wait. The cocktails are phenomenal! Our favorite order is the cookies! What? Cookies in a bar? Yes, cookies in a bar. Order them. You won't be disappointed. If you are, you don't know good cookies. Freddie is the best and often busts out a song or two before the night is over. Highly recommend Off the Record for a nightcap.

Sylvia P: Iconic bar. The drinks were outstanding! The waiter placed coasters based on our political preferences, these are cartoon images of iconic government figures seen on the walls.

Sagar Wadgaonkar: Great bar. Cozy underground feel right across from the White House. Bartenders are very skilled and make great drinks. Drinks are expensive but that comes with the territory.

Steve Otten: My wife and I visited this place as a potential “speak easy” bar with some historical context connected to the Hay-Adams on Saturday 5/28/22 at approximately 10:30pm. We sat at the bar closest to the door. Eventually, we were given menus without any greeting or pleasantries. I ordered a Blanton’s straight and my wife a glass of wine. We advised the bartender it was my wife’s birthday and asked if he wouldn’t mind snapping a quick photo. He told us “he didn’t have time for that, and will get to us when he has a chance”. Mind you, this is a bar in DC during a holiday weekend and we easily walked in and found seats because of the lack of patrons. This clearly is of no surprise given the service. We actually happened to see his POS Home Screen and noticed 6 total tabs…. Six. The bartender eventually asked some wait staff behind us to take our photo which we declined. I asked for my check and the bartender told the other bartender “see this is what I’m talking about” and the took the next 10 minutes getting our bill in a folio. We both left our full drinks in disgust. From this point forward, I will advise all of my colleagues, friends, and family to never visit this venue. This was easily my worst experience of any caliber location and that bartender was a disgrace at best. I’m sad I wasted my time to visit, and even more so to type this review. I hope to whomever comes across it, that I saved you the time and money from the looming disappointment.

Across the Pond: what do users think?

Mark Darwin: Low key bar with a great selection of beers on tap. Didn’t try the food, but the options looked good.

Gina Elliott: I had my fathers 60th birthday here. The booking of the event was easy and the menu that was provided was great. The waiters and bartenders were quick and friendly. We had a chance to meet the owner while we were there and he was friendly and appreciative. I Love to support local business and I’m glad to have them in the city.

Amanda Casillas-Gallegos: Delicious Fish and Chips. Thick and great tasting!! Also tried the Cornish beef and macaroni w/cheese. Tried their Mango Beer, my son tried a Guinness and we LOVED IT!! Be careful menu does not show pricing!!

Jessica Flowers: Nice place for a drink in the late afternoon/early evening. I was easily able to get a seat at the bar for a couple of drinks and listen to the guys behind the bar talk about Derry Girls. Still couldn't find anything about season 4, but nice place. I can't believe I never tried it when I lived on Connecticut Ave a few years ago.

Jasmine Kaidbey: Watched the caps game here and will definitely be back. Very friendly and welcoming staff, prompt service, nice game atmosphere. Menu offers lots of options beyond the quality of your average sports bar. Glad to have tried it out!

Joshua Worthey: Great bar with great atmosphere and great food. We descended upon this place this last weekend. They didn't realize the convention was happening but overcame the issues as they piled on. This will be my go to when in DC from now on. Smaller place so not too crazy or loud.

Peter Pellegrino: Across the Pond is an awesome place! Service was spectacular and the food was authentic and out of this world. They always have so many options for sporting events on the tv’s. Their live music is always good and the speaker system sounds amazing.

Patrick Savoia: Came here for F1. Had no race specials and their brunch specials ended at 1pm. The food itself was passable at best and my cheese fries were clearly sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. A table next to us never even get their food after waiting nearly 90 minutes.
Response: Patrick, Thank you for your feedback. You happened to come into Across the Pond under irregular circumstances. We had cook no-show yesterday and by the time we were able to get another cook to come into work, the kitchen already had 25-30 tickets of food orders. Unfortunately, it took most of race for the kitchen to get caught up with orders. We have over 4.5 stars for our food and I’m happy to offer you a discount on your next meal to show you why we have such great reviews for our food. Thank you, ATP managment

Jim Laurenson: An oasis in the storm! Literally, it was storming and I was on my bike, so I Googled the nearest pub and found this excellent pub. Didn't look like much from the outside, but I persevered, found lots of nice people -- both guests and employees -- had a couple of excellent brews, and onion rings to die for!

Rita S: Drinks were inexpensive, fills up quickly when games are on so get there early

Elephant & Castle: what do users think?

Ardavan Tookaloo: I like the vibe and atmosphere. It is cozy inside with a character. There is also a good outdoor area to seat. The food tastes good and price is good. However for some people might be small. For example I got fish & chips and it was only one piece. However the piece was big enough comparable with 2 regular pieces at other places, although I was there for lunch so not sure if dinner portion and the price is different. At the end I enjoyed it and will go back there.
Response: Thank you for sharing your visit, see you soon Ardavan!

Elizabeth Tenen: Great location with a nice pub atmosphere. We had a Cajun Chicken Wrap with French Fries and Chicken Fingers with Onion Rings. Both dishes were very tasty. Our waiter was very short with us but we noticed that he was rather chatty with everyone else. That felt pretty weird but we decided not let it bother us.
Response: Hi Elizabeth, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed our atmosphere! We're sorry to hear that your waiter wasn't very talkative with your table and we hope you did not take that personally! We hope you come back again soon😊

M: If you are in the D C area you need to go here. Why? As other reviewers have stated, service can be slow and/or spotty...... but that's because they are insanely busy because the food is so good. *They have an expansive outdoor patio. *They have a huge indoor footprint. *The fish and chips is just to die for. The battered fish is as big as the plate and fried to perfection. *The tarter sauce is home made. *The slaw is very lightly mixed with scallions and cilantro. It is light and delicate and uniquely delicious. *They are open continuously (many restaurants close at 2 or 3 then reopen for dinner at 5) *The bread pudding is spot on. You will regret not trying it. Made of challah with a perfectly thick bite/chew to it and crazy good sauce. I will definitely come back to this place.
Response: Wow! Thanks for so much for the great feedback and your continued support! See you soon :)

Frankie Painter: This was our 3rd trip here and while the food is really good, my portion this time was small. I got the chicken pot pie and actually was thrilled that it wasn’t cooked in the dough but instead a tasty, flaky crescent square was placed on top of the pot pie ingredients. My husband got the Shepherds Pie which he loved and which had a normal portion. Overall, for me it was a delicious meal but I left a little hungry. We dined on 1/22/22 and had to show ID with proof of vaccination.
Response: Hi Frankie, thank you for providing your feedback, we are happy to hear you enjoyed dining with us!

Bernadette Bennett: Ok food and service. We stopped here for lunch. Started off with chips and 3 different sauces. It was good. We got Bloody Marys which were a bit watered down. My daughter enjoyed the appetizer meal sausage patties. My salad was just ok. It could use a bit more salad dressing and my husband had the sample of different pies. It was nothing to rave about. Great location with a nice bar!
Response: Thank you for the feedback Bernadette

Danielle Powell: I had a great experience here! The food was good, too :) I got the fish and chips and do admit that I've had better.. in England.. but! It was still good! The vibe was amazing, the service was great. There was a private event ending here when we arrived that was going a little later than planned. But the employees got the place cleared and ready for diners very quickly and we were able to get a nice spot. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! Looking forward to my next visit!
Response: That's amazing! We're happy you had such a great experience and enjoyed the food. Thank you for such a wonderful review.

Khala Grace: Welcome to the Elephant and Castle, a fantastic place to sit with friends and family! The restaurant has an expansive indoor seating area. Each section is decorated in a rustic fashion. Overall, the interior design matches the appeal of their food. I had the potato and leek pie which came with a side noble house salad. Please note, if you're allergic to arugula then you would need to mention so when contemplating a house salad. The staff are attentive to allergies. My sister has an allergy to gluten. They made sure to have a separate cook prepare and deliver her food as to avoid potential cross contanimation with gluten. Overall, The Elephant and Castle is an exceptional restaurant worth visiting.
Response: Thank you so much for the review, Khala! We appreciate you 😊

Corey: A solid pub, reasonable prices and good service. We stopped here for lunch after visiting the mall. The prices here are very reasonable for the area, the menu was well rounded and service was pretty good. Save your money and enjoy yourself for a reasonable cost you will get a better meal than many of the places around.
Response: Thank you for the great feedback! Please visit us again soon.

Mahdi Shirvin: This place is huge, cool interior, and good food. The burger bun was a little disappointing, but the steak cut fries was fantastic 👏. Four Pies, was a nice option for you to try lots of options, and great for someone like me who can not decide. The huge brownie taste great. Make sure to keep room for dessert.
Response: Why have one pie when you can have four? The dessert's at E&C are to die for!

Jelena M: Food was AMAZING, tasted great! My brother loved their sweet potato fries, while I was more interested in the fish and chips (yum!) The chicken sliders were also good, the potato buns were great. I just wished the service came around more, (that is the reason for 4 stars) it was raining a bit after we sat down (we ate outside with the roof- covered seating) and they took away all the condiments from each table, including ours, and did not come again until we paid so I could not ask for ketchup or the straw I wanted. But the food itself is a 5/5! Recommend the fish and chips like the other reviews!
Response: 👏👍👍🙌⭐

The Crown & Crow: what do users think?

M planetmike: Decorated a bit like a bar from Harry Potter's world, this bar is both cozy and spacious. Hook and the rest of the staff were awesome. Even for a Tuesday night, it was surprisingly busy. This is a bar. Food can be brought in. There is a small stage with a large screen where events are televised or can be used for karaoke nights. Thankfully, this bar minimizes the use of televisions, which are unneeded distractions. This is conveniently located near Thomas Circle and at the Southern end of the 14th Street scene.
Response: You can always count on us for a good time. Hope to have you back for another round sometime soon! -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Christopher Yuen: I was in town for a business meeting and I took a few friends out to this bar on a whim and we had a blast! The bartenders were friendly and the drinks were unique and delicious! I had so much fun I ended up leaving my blazer at the bar. I called the manager Graham a few days later and he mailed it back to me all the way to Connecticut. He’s awesome and this place is too!!!!!
Response: Thanks Christopher, it's our pleasure to host you and your friends!

Melissa Hough: This might be my perfect bar. So warm and cozy, the staff is incredible, the drinks are good. It's never been packed (at least on a weekday night) which makes me feel better about the VID. I'd been here a few times before but last night went for the first time on my Dry January stint and they were awesome. Bartender made a tasty mocktail AND they have non-alcoholic beer! So glad I found this gem.
Response: We're thrilled to be your perfect bar, Melissa. You can always count on us for tasty drinks, even during Dry January! We hope you'll be back to see us again for round two sometime soon. -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Chablis owens: It's the best bar in the city. The owner is an incredible person and if you get the chance to be served by him your night is going to be a thousand times better than you thought it would be. It is legitimately the best experience at a bar in DC you can possibly find. And it's not even a strip club. That's rare.
Response: Thanks for coming by, you rock and were lucky to have guests like you!

Annie: Cool bar with a chill vibe. Came here on a Monday night at 630 and there were only 2 other groups. Not the typical DC bar. There are a few tables and the bar to sit at. The cucumber mule was really good!
Response: You can always count on us for good vibes and great drinks, Annie. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your cucumber mule. Come back and see us for more cocktails in the future! -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Noah Wahquahboshkuk: Aesthetically pleasing atmosphere and 2 sides to choose for your pleasure. The first side is more of an elbow-to-elbow-packed environment with loud music. The second side is a more relaxed spread out environment to hold more intimate conversations with friends. Being new to the area, ordering a beverage similar to the drink of preference (Weiser) was difficult due to the unfriendly bartenders. Kinda gave me the you-don't-belong-here vibe. The suggested brew was not the best, but the gin and tonic was great! Bathrooms clean as well as the main areas. Would come back and maybe study up on what is offered on tap.
Response: You can always expect good vibes from our place, Noah. We’d never want you to feel like you don’t belong here, and we’re sorry if that was the case. Next time you swing by, we’ll make sure to find you a brew you’ll love. Hope to see you back soon so we can impress you with our friendly service and unique tap selection. -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

David Benjamin: Booked a private event in their larger bar area and cannot say enough good things about Lindsay and the team as well as the space. The drinks were great, we received numerous compliments from our guests on the venue, and Lindsay was a huge help planning the whole thing. By far the best, most professional experience I've had booking an event space/bar in the DMV!
Response: We’re so happy you enjoyed your experience. We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you so much for the kind words.

Corey Nolan: Always have a great time in this nostalgic Bar. Brian "Bar Man" has done an outstanding job building his dream. Staff is super friendly and they have stepped up their cocktail game since I last visited. Glad I was able to ring in 2022 in such good company! Thanks C&C team! Stay safe!
Response: We're glad to hear you always have a great time with us, Corey. Our friendly staff is always here to take care of you and treat you to a cocktail. We hope you'll be back to celebrate with us sometime soon. -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Adriana Cortés-Buelvas: I absolutely love the Crown and Crow. Great cocktails and a huge offer on drinks. Great indie rock music, feels like an Irish experience.Graham is the nicest!
Response: You can always count on us to show you a good time, Adriana! We're happy to hear you enjoyed your cocktails and the music. Hope to have you back again sometime soon! -Cheers, The Crown & Crow

Adam Adam: I went there for the first time last night I had the worst bartender in town. First he didn't even greet me or anything he walked up to me and asked me very rudely what do you wanna drink didn't, but I seen him greeting other guest properly so if I had to guess it might have to do with the fact I have an accent. I wasn't very familiar with the beers so asked him what's the lighter beer you have he laughs and said Guinness. I never been treated this way in this city.
Response: Adam, very sorry you had that experience, The Crown and Crow's staff represents cultures from 3 continents. One of our core values is that "everyone is invited to the party." I'm Brian, the owner/manager and I bartend on Fridays, please come by and let me buy you a drink and show you the hospitality that we are known for.

Church Hall: what do users think?

Elmer E. Orellana: Our bartender Mario was AMAZING! He was super attentive, amicable and overall a great mixologist! The place is a beer hall with make your own cocktails. Mario crafted a delicious margarita, ask for “Mario’s Margarita” it was delicious. Great atmosphere with fun games and great bar food!

Betsy Dohrer: We recently held our wedding welcome drink reception at Church Hall and it was perfect. Before the event, the team was great to work with and was accommodating and responsive to our questions which allowed us to create an event that truly felt like us. We worked with a lot of wedding vendors and this does not always happen but Elliot was levels above the other vendors! On the event day our guests loved the space and the mix between tables and lounge areas. They even had the TVs on so guests enjoyed watching the NBA games. We recommend Church Hall as a venue for any event you want in the heart of Georgetown!

Carla Olivares: Went to a lecture about the six wives of Henry VIII, and I love it! Unfortunately they did not have the food/appetizers menu available, and the beer I got was flat flat. I would come back if they have any other lectures/events.

Lauren Patton: I went to Church Hall last week with my family and we had a blast! We played games for almost an hour and they had a nice beer selection. The bartender was amazing and won my daughter this stuffed animal in the claw machine! You don’t get better service than that! This place is amazing!

carlos costa: We were a big group of international students just trying to have fun. They wouldn’t let us in just because we had international ids and they would only accept US ids. I am sorry that I wasn’t born in your country. We were all very offended by the way they treated us just because we weren't from the US. Their bar was completely empty and they would still not let us in.

Matt Peppes: Great atmosphere and a really good beer selection! There isn’t table service so you order and pick up your drinks at the bar. You have your pick from couches to high top tables but the best part is they have games throughout the entire place. Games that can be played where you’re sitting, thought that was a really cool idea!

Joseph Raczynski: The restaurant has been designed well. Lots of huge TVs for sporting events, and games for people to play. They have couches and large picnic tables. The beer selection is solid. The service on a Wednesday during happy hour was a tad light. The burger was pretty well done with a nice char and a good assembly of vegetables. Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

Chris Lundquist: They closed the entire establishment for a private event for an entire Saturday with no notice. Ruined an entire evening for a large group of friends who were visiting the city and excited to try Church Hall out. Really unfortunate.

Marwan: Excellent all around experience. Good selection of drinks, good food, solid service. Cool underground setting with couches and high chairs. TVs line the walls playing sports. Great for group settings, highly recommended.

Cindy morales avalos: This is a beer place with beautiful couches, aesthetically pleasing. I love IPAs and the Founders IPA was pretty good. However the sign out side said there was happy hour and there really wasn’t. We were charged full price during happy hour on Friday. They are suppose to have happy hour Mon- Fri from 4-7. Be sure to ask as it seems on some days they may change that. It’s in the basement area of a car parking garage. And have your IDs ready as they check at the door.

Kirwan’s on the Wharf: what do users think?

Abhinav: Food: 3/5 Ambience:4/5 Service: 3.5 /5 The patio of this place on the wharf is pretty cool. We went there just because of that. The food was very mediocre for the prices they charge. We went around 9:15am, we had to ask for the menu twice, ask the waiter to bring cutlet after food was served. We were give only one menu card for a table of three. I guess the waiter was tired for the day but nevertheless expected better than that.

Kyle D: Cool place at the Wharf. Nice atmosphere, however the food was just okay. I’ve had better fish and chips before (the breading fell off the fish and didn’t seem to be seasoned as well as it could). The crab cake appetizer was very good, however.

Travis Alvarado: Service was good and location wasn't bad at all with seating outside, indoors on two floors. Lighting on the inside was a little dark for my taste after the sun went down. The food was great. The Flat Bread Pizza, and Fish and Chips seemed to be what everyone was getting besides all the drinks. Overall I enjoyed it and would go back again for the food and staff.

Antoinette Levon: Service was good. Cocktails were tasty. Food was ok. The Mushroom Soup was really good. But the Caesar Salad lacked dressing and some of the lettuce was brown and old. The gnocchi and squash dish was ok as well. The Pot Pie tasted like it needed something. was a bit bland. Overall it will do if you are hungry and want a drink before our concert. Next time we will try somewhere else.

* dnainsb: Really nice Irish pub located directly on the wharf. It has covered outdoor seating that it is beautiful. The food is classic English pub food. For example Shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, fish and chips, the menu is quite large if English pub food is not what you're looking for. There's a lot of alternatives. It's a really great place right on the wharf.

Paul LaVigne: Kirwans on the wharf is located right at the waterfront and is a good place to go if you have a hankering for Irish pub food. The location is excellent, and the interior is decorated very nicely, but the back room Bar area was exceedingly warm. That would be ok on a cool evening, however it was 90+ degrees when we went in and they’re looking to get relief from the heat. The bartender/waitress who served us was very nice and did a great job of making us feel comfortable. The food was superb as well. I had the bacon and cabbage meal which consisted of pork loin, bacon, cabbage and I opted for the sweet potato fries. It was one of the best pub meals I’ve had. My wife had the lamb burger with colcannon mash. She said it was the best burger and mashed potato dish she’s ever had.

catch_hug: Great for beers and a quick bite. Waiters seem all very good trained and attentive. Food was spiced dezent and authentically, even though the tuna poke (wich btw is not what you are serving) was way too much sesame. Local craft beers on tap, try the sour.

Sam D: Stopped here to avoid the humid day. Great atmosphere and cool a/c. I grabbed a Chicken Pot Pie and it was the best crispy crust and chicken was on point. Highly recommend 10/10

Elizabeth T.: We stopped in here for a few drinks after a free concert and we’re happy with the prices considering the area. We stayed for a few appetizers and I honestly wasn’t that impressed. It did it’s job with curbing my hunger but it was enough for us to choose to go somewhere else for dinner. They sat us quickly and the waitress was very attentive to our needs and brought out the food quickly.

Thao Huynh: Great views and service! The seafood tasted fresh, but it just felt like it needed some more flavor. The drinks were honestly not that great but they look good. Bathrooms look cool but there needs to be more light. For the prices, food quality could have been better, but our server was amazing.

Nanny O'Brien's: what do users think?

Kalina Shushlina: This is the beast place! We sat for dinner, the atmosphere is amazing, they have good drinks too. The prices are very good for the portions that you get and it’s delicious. The staff is also very helpful and polite. If you are in the aria I recommend!

Joseph Wright: Great authentic Irish bar in NW DC. Excellent for New York Giants games. Very friendly bartenders who know everybody almost like family. Enjoyed my beer and a Reuben! Fun to be there.

H D: Good bartenders, Guinness, and nice pub food. Warm atmosphere too.

Danny Shelton: A great neighborhood watering hole. Bartenders are very friendly, wings done right, serviceable bar food. Love that they started up the new bartender curated shot and beer specials as well.

Rick Roll: A great selection of Irish spirits, food and beer at this low key location. The ber tender was attentive and the food was great. We got chicken tenders and the quesadilla and were VERY pleased. If it wasn't so far from where I lived I would go here more frequently.

Renato Nardello: The entrance foes not appear inviting, but inside it’s really good. It’s a pub but it’s also a family-friendly spot for a lunch break while or after visiting the zoo. Ample seating, great food choice (chicken tenders, chicken wings, sandwiches), friendly staff, honest prices, and… air conditioning!!

Cody Starken: The best place in Washington D.C. for fried pickles. If you are a fried pickle aficionado, you know how hard it is to find a restaurant that makes them correctly. Seriously though, the staff is friendly and great. The atmosphere is lovely. The menu is what you expect from an American-Irish pub. If you are in the area, stop in and have a bite.

Jim Laurenson: Excellent service, friendly bar tender, great brews on tap, excellent BBQ cauliflower. And they fill growlers! Though a tad on the expensive side.

Erica Milkovich-Padilla: Friendly people drinking, staff was nice, food was okay nothing special. The people and the entertainment as well as drink specials put this place on the revisit list!

Kyle Durant: Great local Irish pub. Reuben and onion rings were delicious, and so was the beer on tap. Bartender was quite friendly.

Irish Channel Restaurant & Pub: what do users think?

M Atienzasis: Across from Saint Mary Mother of God R.C. Church NW Washington DC, 15 min from Union Station. Interesting Irish stop spot with an active bar/restaurant serving lunch & dinner with attentive staff, try generous serving of ceeamy tomato soup & special grilled cheese sandwich with bacon & tomato. Authentic Irish decor sparking some nostalgia.

Ty Clement: Everything was good but it was more expensive than it deserved to be. It's connected to a hotel so I think that's why they can justify charging more. The staff, while friendly, were inattentive and I often had to walk around the bar to find someone.

Jennifer Winand: This place is a must do! We were greeted with ice cold water as soon as we walked in (we had walked a mile to get here and it was so hot out). We had the best Shepherds Pie I have ever had and a delicious creme brule for dessert. Cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The best part? The most AMAZING staff. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Dan Saunders: Great place to grab a proper breakfast and watch the football. The service was great and showed many screens for the football. As a spurs fan it was great to watch the games amongst like minded fellow fans. Also the beer price was not too expensive with an offer on when spurs were playing.

Richard Svagerko: Had the Shepards Pie, and it was good. Our group had several beers that we thought was a little expensive. The atmosphere was good because of the large friendly group of Police Officers that were there celebrating National Police Week. Service was a little slow though.

mike cook: I can't say enough about this place, awesome staff, very clean and the food was excellent. Met the owner had a great talk and he bought me a pint.my new go to irish pub in d.c.You owe it to yourself to go here first when looking for a place to watch a match, grab a bite or a pint of Guinness!!!

Croom: Food was good but over priced for what you got. $19 shepherds pie worth $12 max, Reuben meal for $15 with $10 and a $12 cocktail that was basically water. The environment is cool though. We went on a Thursday evening and parking was difficult.

Soren Dews: Bayron was an amazing server. He was just the right amount of attentive to take care of us but not overbearing. His personality was great, really nice and friendly. To top it off it was his first day serving! Thank you!

Diane Bencemulkerrin: I had the Spice Bag and wow it was amazing! Service was fab my husband had the Cheeseburger and said it hit all the right spots came in to get set up for the Luton v Huddersfield match and got it sorted in no time nothing is too much trouble Will definitely be coming back!!!

Nancy Ammann: The food is amazing! It was genuinely better than anything we had in Ireland! And the live music was lovely. I'm so glad we found this gem!! Guiness stew is a Must!!
