The Pub & The People: what do users think?
Ethan Z
Ethan Z: Great Restaurant!! This Restaurant is in the city area and offers indoor and outside seating!! The menu is rather small but the food and drinks were great!! The wait staff were friendly and professional!! The restaurant was also clean and well presented. The bathrooms are coolly decorated too with people sending pictures in of there family pets in to be featured on the wall. Overall great!
Becky Gomez
Becky Gomez: Such a great spot for a lonely, taveling vegetarian! 😂 Bar service was superb and a delightful vibe. Great beer selection. Perfect shishitos 🌶️ and tempura cauliflower!
AJ Hendricks
AJ Hendricks: Pub and the People is our favorite outdoor spot in Bloomingdale. The beers they have on tap are great, and the food (specifically, the Black Bean burger and "The Heidi" Fried Chicken sandwich) is very solid. The tempura cauliflower sauce is also amazing. Matt, the manager, is very friendly and just a welcoming face to see when you come in. This radiates through the whole staff. The happy hour specials are awesome, and run for most of the day on the weekends. Enjoy!
Parker Kelley
Parker Kelley: Very great experience here ! We’ve passed this place numerous times and I’ve always said I wanted to try it. So, we finally did ! I ordered the Heidi chicken sandwich which was very tasteful. It came with a side of fries which were also very good. The service was great - 3 or 4 people continuously came to check on us. I’d definitely eat here again.
Bobbi DeAnda
Bobbi DeAnda: Such a great brunch spot! The outdoor patio is pup friendly (and the bathroom inside is a must see for dog lovers haha). The biscuits and gravy with fried chicken was TO DIE FOR. So yummy! Staff was super friendly and helpful.
Callum Wayman
Callum Wayman: A great local pub for people in Eckington and Bloomingdale. The pub offers a great selection of beers, wine, and cocktails as well as an excellent food menu (try the tempura cauliflower, chicken sandwich, and the fries). In the winter they offer group seating around large fire pits for small gatherings. I found that to be a huge boon when trying to gather friends outdoors while being mindful of COVID during the winter. The staff are nice and helpful.
Amy Burdon
Amy Burdon: Had dinner and played trivia - food menu was fairly short but with lots of tasty items - I enjoyed the curry wings and gazpacho. Staff were friendly, happy hour drinks were a good deal. All positives!
Daniel Albert
Daniel Albert: Not sure what happened to this place. The drinks we got were fine, but the food was pretty subpar. Got the Cuban sandwich and the fries that came with it were way too peppered and salty. The food used to be great here. The vibe is still good - cozy and perfect for winter time.

Post Pub: what do users think?
Hilda Kroll
Hilda Kroll: My Diplomat Bacon Cheddar burger ($12.95) with sweet potato fries ($3) was so good and very reasonably priced for so much food. A good place to enjoy a relaxed, casual lunch.
Response: Thank you for taking your time to review us, Hilda! We are really glad to hear you had such a great experience. We look forward to having you back soon.
Nikoloz Gogilidze
Nikoloz Gogilidze: very friendly service and nice public. I have been there twice and enjoyed both times. Burger is really nice and they offer to prepare meat even rare which is not an option in every bar.
Response: Thank you Nikoloz :) We are happy to hear you had such a great experience at Post Pub. We look forward to hosting you many more times in the future
Mark Orebiyi
Mark Orebiyi: A friend and I got a drink and some dinner at this location recently and we were very happy about the service. Unfortunately the food did not match. We both ordered a fried chicken sandwich and were extremely upset. We relayed our disappointment to the manager and he seemed receptive.
Lisa Sullivan
Lisa Sullivan: All the way from Vermont and am loving this outdoor patio, mixed drinks during happy hour and a really amazing bar tender!
Response: Thank you so much for the kind review Lisa :)
Emma Austin
Emma Austin: I felt so welcomed at Post Pub. The staff was over the top and extremely friendly. They were constantly checking in on us. The drinks were great. We only got one order of fries and they were good too. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.
Response: Thank you Emma! We are so happy to hear you had a great experience with us- please come back soon!
kristen jones
kristen jones: Went here at 9pm on a Saturday night with two friends. Ordered 3 beers totaling $20.90. Paid with $30 cash and the bartender took my money and didn’t give me any change. When I asked for my $9.10 change (with full intentions of tipping on the 3 beers we ordered) the (drunk) bartender went back to the register and got a $10 bill and slammed it on the bar in front of me and yelled in front of everyone “here you go, princess!” Apparently he thought he deserved a $10 (50%) tip on a check for three beers. I’ve been in the service industry for 15 years. This place deserves 0% gratuity for customer service. Would not recommend. Take your business elsewhere.
isela martinez
isela martinez: Drinks were good. Food took way too long for a simple burger, fries and mozzarella sticks. There only two other customers when we got there. The cheese wasn’t even melted onthe burger, the buns were burnt and mozzarella sticks didn’t even have mozzarella in them.Only came here cause Stans was closed. Next time I’ll just wait till theyopen. Server was nice
Response: Hi Isela- I am sorry that you had a less than satisfactory experience with us. Hi Isela. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration- we hope your next experience with us is better.
George Stover
George Stover: The historic Pub in downtown DC is back. It was always cherished before and now with the new staff and menu, it can be cherished again. Go for the pub fare and stay for the experience.

The Dubliner Restaurant: what do users think?
H
H: I have never had a sublime turkey burger until I went here. Half a pound patties on toasted brioche buns with a side of thick cut fries. Great spot to hit a spot for pub food. The fries were a tad overly seasoned for my taste but I was thoroughly impressed by the burger of the day and the bison burger. Okay service. Restaurant is connected to a hotel in the back. Outdoor patio seating available. Nice atmosphere even though music was a bit too loud at times to converse.
Samar Al Kobrossy
Samar Al Kobrossy: Great place! The food is tasty and flavorful. The portions are big. The decoration is amazing. The waiters are attentive and can give you tips on how to navigate your way around the city. You can sit down, relax, and enjoy your food while listening to some beautiful Irish songs.
Kelly Hyer
Kelly Hyer: Great local choice. Fabulous service and really great food. When in an Irish spot, must have the fish and chips. Seasoned fries- yum. Sooo good, highly recommend. Pretzel stix appetizer delish. Nice kids options too 👌 🌭 🍟
Brett Daviau
Brett Daviau: Breakfast was great. Salmon bagel with all the fixings. Poor server was trying her best to handle the whole shop by herself. Hope she can get some help. Delicious.
Bobbi DeAnda
Bobbi DeAnda: AMAZING SERVICE!!! Food was ok, but the service was amazing. So friendly. So fast. So responsive. I actually left my sunglasses and someone ran them out to me!!! The French fries are AMAZINGGGGGG, but the rest of the food was just ok. Fish and chips, fish ok. Burger, ehh. I ordered the burger medium and it was well done. Probably a great spot for drinks and snacks, but wouldn’t go for lunch again. For drinks and French fries, YES!
Edward O'Beirne
Edward O'Beirne: Decent menu, good quality food, worth going again. Service was lackluster, possibly an element of understaffed but the place was nearly empty on a Friday afternoon 1pm. Greek salad with salmon was enjoyed. Philly cheesesteak about average. Cold beers. Nice outdoor seating view. Not first choice but would return.
craig mossinger
craig mossinger: This is an absolute must for lunch! Service is quick and friendly! Fish n chips and the Irish Rueben are phenomenal.
Steve Meier
Steve Meier: Great place, and of course what do you order at an Irish Resturant? Fish & Chips and it was probably the best I have ever had. Some of my coworkers were Shepherd Pie fans and a couple others were more traditional and had a Chicken Sandwich. The common theme was everyone was happy with their meal. Service was great and atmosphere was pleasant.

Dan's Cafe: what do users think?
Greg Davis
Greg Davis: One of the best Dive bars I’ve ever been too. They specialise in ketchup bottle cocktails. $28 for half a of bottle of spirits and mixer. But you get $5 back when you return the bottle. Great value beers here too. Love the hanging plants from the ceiling and faded browning walls, it’s just a fab place. Don’t miss it! And the miniature spirits bar is fantastic!! It’s cash only - ATM next door is pricey, so come prepared! The staff are really funny and friendly too!
Mark Zachery
Mark Zachery: Dirty and Divey just like I like it. Cocktails in squirt bottles. Also cheap beers. Doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned or renovated in like 50 years. Still love the vibe.
Ivan Kotsiourouba
Ivan Kotsiourouba: 10/10, my gf loved it , I am sure my relationship only got better after this
Bill Mall
Bill Mall: One of the most unique and best small bars I have ever been to. For a little.over $20, they fill fill the squirt bottle with the liquor of your choosing, add a splash of whatever soda, juice, etc you want in it, and hand it over with shot glasses and the remaining juice or soda (to "cut" your shots so to speak). The bartender was awesome. No food, but there are plenty of nearby options and you can bring the food into the bar.

Emissary: what do users think?
Martha Wilson
Martha Wilson: Hip vibe at this neighborhood coffee. Cool interior but lots of space outside. Delicious food and coffee, too. Thumbs up!
Rebecca Peters
Rebecca Peters: I’ve been here several times and had pretty mixed experiences. The staff is super kind and lovely. If you’re there to work, there’s very limited seating with plug access for charging devices. In ~5 visits, I’ve never been able to get on the wifi (even with restarting devices/the wifi itself etc.) The coffee is really good, but other aspects could use some improvement; I ordered a salad (~$15!) expecting it to be pretty substantial at that price. Was disappointed when it came with only a few pieces of grapefruit, half an avocado, and stemmy greens. Overall: go for good coffee, pre-charge your devices, consider not ordering salad.
Rosa
Rosa: I love the vibe, the location, the avocado toast, the coffee and pastries of Emissary, but there are a few recurring issues that I hope they address: Some of the staff are very ignorant. You need to ask for one thing several times for them to address. The tables are not always being cleaned after someone leaves. People constantly come and go and sometimes you just get to sit at the dirty table and even when you ask for a napkin to clean the table, the person doesn’t come back. The WiFi also sucks. If you need to do stuff online, you can’t rely on their WiFi.
Tatiana Padilla
Tatiana Padilla: Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating; a variety of small plates; and delicious coffee! The space was cute and the staff was friendly. The espresso was a bit fruity and bright— not what I expected. Wish there were more breakfast pastries/breads available throughout the day as the food menu was a bit on the expensive side.
HK
HK: My go-to comfort cafe in the neighborhood. Coffee and pastries are great. They have ample seating space indoors and outdoors, which makes it a great rendezvous point. They offer healthy food options although the portions aren’t big.
Lisa Giorgi
Lisa Giorgi: Cozy casual place, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Tried the egg sandwich which was tasty. Good for breakfast and work.
Jelena Djokic
Jelena Djokic: Cool, indie coffee place. It serves delicious coffee and pastries. Prices are average. We got a tasty carrot cake cupcake there. The only thing that bugged me was that we took the food outside and there was simply no argonomic way to eat it without getting super messy, so I would recommend that they get utensils for the take-out.
Bhinesha Seetaram
Bhinesha Seetaram: The best matcha latte. I took mine with almond milk.

Kirwan’s on the Wharf: what do users think?
Abhinav
Abhinav: Food: 3/5 Ambience:4/5 Service: 3.5 /5 The patio of this place on the wharf is pretty cool. We went there just because of that. The food was very mediocre for the prices they charge. We went around 9:15am, we had to ask for the menu twice, ask the waiter to bring cutlet after food was served. We were give only one menu card for a table of three. I guess the waiter was tired for the day but nevertheless expected better than that.
Kyle D
Kyle D: Cool place at the Wharf. Nice atmosphere, however the food was just okay. I’ve had better fish and chips before (the breading fell off the fish and didn’t seem to be seasoned as well as it could). The crab cake appetizer was very good, however.
Antoinette Levon
Antoinette Levon: Service was good. Cocktails were tasty. Food was ok. The Mushroom Soup was really good. But the Caesar Salad lacked dressing and some of the lettuce was brown and old. The gnocchi and squash dish was ok as well. The Pot Pie tasted like it needed something. was a bit bland. Overall it will do if you are hungry and want a drink before our concert. Next time we will try somewhere else.
Paul LaVigne
Paul LaVigne: Kirwans on the wharf is located right at the waterfront and is a good place to go if you have a hankering for Irish pub food. The location is excellent, and the interior is decorated very nicely, but the back room Bar area was exceedingly warm. That would be ok on a cool evening, however it was 90+ degrees when we went in and they’re looking to get relief from the heat. The bartender/waitress who served us was very nice and did a great job of making us feel comfortable. The food was superb as well. I had the bacon and cabbage meal which consisted of pork loin, bacon, cabbage and I opted for the sweet potato fries. It was one of the best pub meals I’ve had. My wife had the lamb burger with colcannon mash. She said it was the best burger and mashed potato dish she’s ever had.
catch_hug
catch_hug: Great for beers and a quick bite. Waiters seem all very good trained and attentive. Food was spiced dezent and authentically, even though the tuna poke (wich btw is not what you are serving) was way too much sesame. Local craft beers on tap, try the sour.
Sam D
Sam D: Stopped here to avoid the humid day. Great atmosphere and cool a/c. I grabbed a Chicken Pot Pie and it was the best crispy crust and chicken was on point. Highly recommend 10/10
Elizabeth T.
Elizabeth T.: We stopped in here for a few drinks after a free concert and we’re happy with the prices considering the area. We stayed for a few appetizers and I honestly wasn’t that impressed. It did it’s job with curbing my hunger but it was enough for us to choose to go somewhere else for dinner. They sat us quickly and the waitress was very attentive to our needs and brought out the food quickly.
Thao Huynh
Thao Huynh: Great views and service! The seafood tasted fresh, but it just felt like it needed some more flavor. The drinks were honestly not that great but they look good. Bathrooms look cool but there needs to be more light. For the prices, food quality could have been better, but our server was amazing.

Big Bear Cafe: what do users think?
Chelsea Kinsman
Chelsea Kinsman: Dinging them 2 stars for only providing single-use plastic disposable cups and utensils and another star for the bland and basic “homemade” English muffin breakfast sandwich. Like so many cafes during the pandemic, Big Bear moved in a less sustainable direction which is sad to see and also unacceptable given how much we know about the affect of non-recyclable waste. Big Bear still does not permit dine-in on the bottom level, only outdoor seating and indoor seating upstairs (where the lone bathroom is), though they had blocked off all the seats outside in the sun the day we were there. Would recommend skipping this place in favor of more sustainable cafes until they improve their environmental practices as well as their food on offer.
Andrew Thomas Clifton
Andrew Thomas Clifton: It’s one of my absolute GO-TO spaces to hit in DC. The staff is great, the food is simple and also very very great, the only thing I do not like is if you sit outside be ready for lots of flies to be hovering.
stephanie wood
stephanie wood: Honestly, not my favorite. The line gets very long and moves slowly. The staff is impatient, rushes you at the counter, and is borderline rude if you have questions. It’s difficult to find a seat and you are not welcome to linger. The vibe is BUSY. Creative Grounds coffee is around the corner and provides a much friendlier atmosphere.
Georgia Craig
Georgia Craig: Best coffee I’ve had in DC, good milky got chocolate. Good array of baked goods. Could make the food menu clearer as I didn’t realise there was a food menu until I was served. Good bagels. Could improve cleanliness. Very busy. Rather expensive~ $45 for the food in the photo.
Joy R
Joy R: Inside and outside space as well as a 2nd floor party area . Very cute. Serves coffee and drinks. The double cheeseburger was very good.
Joe Joe
Joe Joe: A fast paced grab-n-go or sit down breakfast eatery that has phenomenal staff service and great avocado breakfast burritos. Went two times while visiting in Washington DC and it’s a must!
Craig Pratt
Craig Pratt: Nice little Cafe were you can sit for hours on your laptop or reading, I did both. Coffee was great ad was the service.

Across the Pond: what do users think?
Mark Darwin
Mark Darwin: Low key bar with a great selection of beers on tap. Didn’t try the food, but the options looked good.
Gina Elliott
Gina Elliott: I had my fathers 60th birthday here. The booking of the event was easy and the menu that was provided was great. The waiters and bartenders were quick and friendly. We had a chance to meet the owner while we were there and he was friendly and appreciative. I Love to support local business and I’m glad to have them in the city.
Amanda Casillas-Gallegos
Amanda Casillas-Gallegos: Delicious Fish and Chips. Thick and great tasting!! Also tried the Cornish beef and macaroni w/cheese. Tried their Mango Beer, my son tried a Guinness and we LOVED IT!! Be careful menu does not show pricing!!
Jasmine Kaidbey
Jasmine Kaidbey: Watched the caps game here and will definitely be back. Very friendly and welcoming staff, prompt service, nice game atmosphere. Menu offers lots of options beyond the quality of your average sports bar. Glad to have tried it out!
Peter Pellegrino
Peter Pellegrino: Across the Pond is an awesome place! Service was spectacular and the food was authentic and out of this world. They always have so many options for sporting events on the tv’s. Their live music is always good and the speaker system sounds amazing.
Patrick Savoia
Patrick Savoia: Came here for F1. Had no race specials and their brunch specials ended at 1pm. The food itself was passable at best and my cheese fries were clearly sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. A table next to us never even get their food after waiting nearly 90 minutes.
Response: Patrick, Thank you for your feedback. You happened to come into Across the Pond under irregular circumstances. We had cook no-show yesterday and by the time we were able to get another cook to come into work, the kitchen already had 25-30 tickets of food orders. Unfortunately, it took most of race for the kitchen to get caught up with orders. We have over 4.5 stars for our food and I’m happy to offer you a discount on your next meal to show you why we have such great reviews for our food. Thank you, ATP managment

Hard Rock Cafe: what do users think?
Kelvin Ofula
Kelvin Ofula: A typical Hard Rock Cafe in the heart of DC. Strategically positioned. Loved the interior deco and their food. The staff were once again as amazing as always and very helpful. The lady at the souvenir shop was very very helpful and friendly. I loved every single bit here. The ambiance was great and so was the music. Hard Rock is just pure positive vibrations and I always try to visit one when in an area with one. I would totally recommend.
Response: Thank you for the thoughtful 5 star review Kelvin! We hope to welcome you back to the Washington DC cafe soon!
Matt Daniel
Matt Daniel: A classic Hard Rock Cafe in the heart of DC. A great layout within what appears to be a old fashioned restaurant or bar. The rock n roll decor is seamlessly integrated into the Art Deco along the walls. The staff were very hospitable and I recommend making a reservation as you can ask for better seating up stairs or in the back. There was one tv above the bar featuring music videos of various famous rock n roll bands. The pricing was reasonable for the area and the options for food were good with large portions. I’d recommend to stop by if you haven’t been, hope this helps!
Response: Thank you for the thoughtful 5 star review Matan! We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit!
Yogis Dogie
Yogis Dogie: Nice place to visit in DC. Extremely busy but very nicely decorated. Unfortunately the food is very mediocre. Looks great, tastes bland and almost always served cool or cold. The hamburgers have an odd seasoning in them that can be off putting. Fries are good but the portion is pretty small (in relation to the price). The gift shop is well stocked. The rewards program changes its guidelines too frequently and dumps points out too often to be useful. Basically, it’s a nice place to visit, but one visit is plenty.
Response: Dear Yogis, Thank you for visiting HRC DC and taking the time to provide your feedback! Please accept my apologizes for not delivering a 5 star experience, if there is ever anything we can do to assist on your next visit please do not hesitate to reach out to the management team at Washington_DC_Social@hardrock.com Thank you, Sara Lester - Sales & Marketing Manager
Bailey Alexander
Bailey Alexander: This was my third time eating at this particular Hard Rock Cafe! This location really stands out. It’s in the heart of the city so it’s really nice to tour monuments an things and then ride electric scooters to here and park them. Then you can relax and unwind, ride scooters back around to tour more things in DC. The food is always very flavorful and good. The drinks are always perfect. This location has an excellent modern style with lots of arts and things on the walls. I highly recommend checking this place out while in DC.
Response: Hello Bailey Alexander, Thank you so much for the 5 star review! Best regards, Erik Bolme General Manager Hard Rock Cafe Washington D.C.
David Arrimadas
David Arrimadas: Very good Hard Rock restaurant. I have been in lot of them all over the world and this is a very good one. I love the open kitchen concept and the kindness of all the staff. The brownie is delicious and soooo big. Difficult to finish it even when sharing!
Response: Hello David Arrimadas, Thank you so much for your 5 star review! Best regards, Erik Bolme General Manager Hard Rock Cafe Washington D.C.
WorldofDaph
WorldofDaph: I try to go to hard rock in every city I visit and usually it is a pleasant experience but not today. I came to this location and sat down in the bar area waiting 10-15 minutes for someone to take a drink order. Considering how tired and hungry I was I had no energy to even leave. One of he waitresses at the bar looked at me and my fiancé multiple times and never came over. She was behind the bar scratching her back under her shirt and didn’t even wash her hands. When she finally came to our table she pulled out her cellphone to text someone. Having been a service manager in restaurant for years I was completely dumbfounded at the disrespect. I’m a pretty mild mannered fair person but this Waitress was awful. I will say the kitchen staff was doing a great job. They were pushing food out but the servers just weren’t running food which caused it to just sit in the window. The receipt said the waitress name was Sara. All I know is Sara needs to be demoted to hostess or let go. Upon leaving I brought these things to the managers attention but I could tell she didn’t really care. She offered to give me her card. That’s won’t do much at all. I watch the manager stand on the expo line and watch plates die in the window. Saturdays can be quite tough and she was probably tired and over it herself. All in all I will never return to this location.
Response: Hello WorldofDaph, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent visit. What you experienced is absolutely not the type of authentic Hard Rock atmosphere we strive to provide. I apologize that your concerns were not addressed when you brought them to the attention of the manager on duty, we will make sure they are addressed immediately. If you have the time to discuss your experience in further detail you can reach our management team at: Washington_DC_Social@hardrock.com I do appreciate your recognition of the Kitchen Staff and will happily share your praise with them! I hope that we can connect further on email. Thank you, Sara Lester - Sales & Marketing Manager
Rachel Cook
Rachel Cook: We had a very large group with reservations. They were not prepared. Some of the staff was great, but others were not. The food, for those who actually got food, was mediocre. If this continues, the DC Hard Rock will suffer the same fate as others around the country...permanently closed. It is disappointing 😞
Response: Dear Rachel, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. I hope that you can accept my apologizes for not being prepared and delivering a 5 star experience. I am glad that there were a few staff members that were great. We are grateful for your patronage and will continue to strive for improvement so we can better tend to your group on the next visit. Present Company Public House: what do users think?
Jess
Jess: My boyfriend and I stayed nearby so we literally had brunch, dinner and dessert (not all in the same day) but service was polite and speedy, wait staff checked in regularly to ensure everything was okay/refill drinks. Menu a bit smaller in selection however great quality and presentation. Really enjoyed the outdoor lighting and even inside had a cool relaxing vibe with music and comfortable seating. Would definitely come again- probably for dinner their burgers were our favorite and their drink specials looked awesome.
Natalie I
Natalie I: I cannot say enough amazing things about our experience here and with Lauren. We had a welcome reception the night before our wedding upstairs in the Dalmation room with about 40 attendees. Everything from beginning to end was handled wonderfully in terms of planning. We wanted something simple and just wanted to create an atmosphere that would give us more time to bond with our guests. And they delivered! The room was set up perfectly with open spaces but also seating for those that needed to sit. The food was set up in the corner, allowing photos of the awesome mural in the background. The food was also AMAZING!! We heard so many compliments from folks - especially about the mini boa w/ bacon, nashville hot chicken sliders, and tuna tartar. My personal fave is the onion tip with the inhouse made chips. We elected for an open bar with whatever guests wanted to order. I was worried this may be overwhelming to the bartender (not having any preset drinks for group this size) but he handled everything perfectly. I never waited for a drink and never saw anyone else waiting for a drink. If you are planning an event, I recommend this place! Such a unique space with a team that really cares about their business, food and giving you the experience you want and deserve.
Aaron Schinstock
Aaron Schinstock: We have lived in the area for about two years and eat out regularly. Lots of places have great service. There are tons of places with great food. Some even have sublime drinks. This is the first place where we had all 3 effortlessly. Plus, the ambiance is superb. If you’re looking for an ideal dining experience, this is your spot. If you want it at a reasonable price, this is your lucky day. If you’re willing to “pay for quality”, I’d still recommend this restaurant. There are places where you can pay more, but nowhere where you can get better food AND service. We are particular about our BBQ. When we were considering the burnt ends, the chef sent out a sample of their sauce (amazing). We hadn’t eaten here before and our server suggested one of us should sub the tots for our fries. Excellent suggestion. Our server was the head bartender and yet the other restaurant staff ensured we were never even remotely neglected when our server was busy. I can’t think of a single thing they could’ve done better. If I could give them a million stars, I would. If you’re still reading this review, STOP READING AND JUST EAT HERE.
Imdancer D
Imdancer D: All star. The brunch and bottomless mimosas were incredible. Really though, our server Bianca was so awesome. She helped us out finding things around the city and was just an overall warm, sunny person. Great food, great service!
Arik D. Brown
Arik D. Brown: The food we tried was very good. I really enjoyed the wings and Vegan Curry Bowl. My wife also enjoyed the Ahi Tuna Burger.. Service was very friendly as well. The only thing that was not optimal was the wait for the food. There were very few customers and it took awhile for our food to be served. For most of our time my wife and I were the only ones dining inside. I would definitely recommend this place!
Julia Xia
Julia Xia: Booked Present Company for 2 private work events - beautiful, intimate venue with red brick walls and a mural upstairs. Food was yummy and Lauren is so kind and a joy to work with! She answered all my questions in a timely way, gave thoughtful recommendations about our food orders, and made everyone feel welcome. The bartenders were great too and served a hot bourbon cider that i drank way too much of!
Lyndsey Clos
Lyndsey Clos: I came here for my graduation brunch with a party of 12 and this was the best experience I’ve ever had at brunch in DC. I brunch a LOT and Lauren is by far the best, most shining personality I’ve had. She made our experience so fun and pleasant, and I cannot recommend this enough! I can’t wait to go back. PS - the orange crush and avocado Benedict are to die for.
Jay Bauer
Jay Bauer: I love this place! Great vibe, awesome service / people, and insanely good food for a neighborhood pub/restaurant. DO NOT sleep on the tuna burger! Upon first bite it instantly became my go-to favorite. Don’t be fooled by the description, like I was initially. Typically I prefer a filet cut if ordering a fish sandwich - so when I saw that the tuna was ground, I shied away. Eventually I got talked into it by a former bartender, Patrick, who said it was hands down his favorite thing on the menu. Well, I did and now it’s mine as well. I’ve literally ordered it for lunch and then gone back and had it again for dinner on multiple occasions. So, to sum up…get yourself to Present Company and if you’re hungry, grab the tuna burger - you’ll thank me later. If you see a ꓭ. sticker behind the bar, that’s me! Be present. Be company. Just BE. Love this place, you will too…but try and keep it our little secret! Enjoy!

Union Pub: what do users think?
Nickie Bishop
Nickie Bishop: It’s a nice place to stop as there a great patio area and it’s close to activities. We got there on a Saturday when it opened so the service was fine. The food was disappointing. Ordered from the brunch menu - the cheesy French toast was terrible! Flavorless, crusty, cold and barely any cheese. Otherwise the menu was the usual bar food which seemed fine. Hubby had the burger and said it was “OK”. We were here a few years ago on a week day and it had a great lunchtime vibe!
Richard Mahaffey
Richard Mahaffey: Another very nice venue and very popular happy hour gathering place. Patriots are very friendly and happy. Also employees appear to be happy and seem to love their job and the people that come there...
Ren Jax
Ren Jax: Any place with sweet potato fries is already thumbs up for me. Aside from that, the staff was present, and friendly. The food was seasoned just right, and I loved the portions served. We sat on the patio around lunchtime, which looked like it was used for extra storage space in some sections. A little crowded, the tables and chairs could probably be arranged to better utilize the space, or just use less of them in the space.
Gus Nordhielm
Gus Nordhielm: Unbelievably aggressive and condescending manager. She spoke to my partner in an incredibly demeaning manner and refused us service when I asked her not to speak to us that way.
Xenon Booth
Xenon Booth: Great outdoor space for those not ready for indoor mingling yet. Remember to pack your proof of vaccination and photo ID (not on phone). Drinks are reasonably priced though service was a little slow.
Emily Smith
Emily Smith: Definitely check out Union Pub! The bartenders were so sweet and the food was just awesome. Really great atmosphere both outside and in the back at the bar. Check it out asap!
Jason Dubar
Jason Dubar: We were in the area and needed to escape the heat and find a nice drink to cool off with. So, finding good reviews for Union Pub, we decided to give it a try. I ordered a local beer and my fiance wanted one of their mixed drinks they offer - they were out of the ingredients. Ok, no problem. She ordered a different mixed drink - nope, out of those too. Feeling defeated, she ordered a beer, which the bartender said was good...it was not, but it helped beat the heat. We did not try their food, which must be good, as there was a good sized crowd seated outside.

Andrea Betances
Andrea Betances: This place is cute and the drinks are really good. Our server was very nice and helpful. The star of the show was the mini gyro. The pasta was eh and the burger was good but not the best we’ve had. I would come again just for drinks and the mini gyros. It seems like the menu changes often which is refreshing so I would love to come back and try new things.
Ardavan Tookaloo
Ardavan Tookaloo: Wow, wow, wow! If you are looking for a “WOW” factor, this is your place. This place is beautiful, romantic and cozy . So if you are with group of friends or you are on a date it is a great place either way. Drinks are unique and generous! Food taste good and delicious! It is really different from typical bars and restaurant. 1000% recommend it.
TexCat
TexCat: Fabulous in every way. Definitely sit outside if the weather is conducive. Drinks were heavenly - had the ‘Wild Strawberry’.Ordered the sea bass, it was truly wonderful. My friend had the mini gyros and fries. The soft scoop with mango was the perfect light dessert to share after.
Layth Baheej
Layth Baheej: The food was amazing, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. On top of that, Gustavo, our waiter, have done an excellent job recommendations for drinks, explaining the minute and food sizes. All in all, my birthday and my best friend’s birthday ended up with an amazing customer service and great food. Thank you
SUE
SUE: A super cute restaurant in Washington DC that you MUST visit🙌🏻 To be honest I didn’t have any expectations that meals and drinks could be good in such a “fancy” restaurant. The truth is I was so wrong and their food is not only pretty but also delicious. Moreover, the drinks are really nice. What could I say? They just nailed it! I really had a great time and certainly recommend here! You MUST come here when you travel to DC next time. You would enjoy the chill atmosphere and have wonderful drinks and meals here. However the restaurant is quite popular, so I suggest that making a reservation in advance is definitely necessary. ✨One of 2021 Michelin Bib Gourmand Winners in Washington, DC More travel & restaurant recommendations in instagram @itssuechen
Charles Simms (Charlie)
Charles Simms (Charlie): It’s not often you stumble upon such an Instagrammable restaurant whose food tastes better than it looks. (And their food looks amazing!) We ordered charred octopus, bowls of fries, cornish hen, grilled fish, fish burgers, and a smash burger. Everything was delicious, and we can’t wait to dine here again the next time we pop into D.C.
Edward Wu
Edward Wu: Absolutely loved the food! Got the figs and ricotta, Turkish eggs (highly recommend adding the salmon and fried cheese), and residents bowl. Nice ambiance and friendly servers

Sam D
Sam D: Nice small town/family type place. Richard was a great guy and was pretty outgoing for whatever advice you wanted, whether food or DC activities. I just had cheese fries and alcohol but would definitely come again. 5/5
J B
J B: Stopped in after a fun night tour and loved the atmosphere! A real local place with great people , amazing bartender and friendly regular patrons made the experience even more enjoyable. The menu has all you need and the food was delicious! We were able to catch the last part of the game on and truly had fun with everyone cheering the hometown team. I highly recommend...absolutely worth it .
Jon Phillips
Jon Phillips: Friendly staff, laid back and relaxing feel.. outdoor setting. After long day of sightseeing needed to relax and recharge. Great place for drinks, outdoor sitting and food.
Lisa Mcclease-Kelly
Lisa Mcclease-Kelly: Who knew that a little place like this cafe could have such great food! I had the salad with grilled chicken. It was excellent. My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich. We shared a bowl of chili as well. The owner and staff were kind and respectful and gave us unvaccinated guests a warm, covered place to sit outside. Go and support these hard working people. You will be happy you did.
Samantha McLeod
Samantha McLeod: The food was fine. Standard American food and the location and ambiance was good. The prices were quite high for what we got though. I had a very long hair in my food when I received it, so they made me another, which was great. It happens. So whatever. But they also charged us separately for our fries that we were told "came with the meal". Which was kinda sneaky and annoying, especially since the prices were already quite inflated as was. But I guess you live and learn.

Penn Social: what do users think?
Aaron-Micheal Blackman
Aaron-Micheal Blackman: Solid bar, decent food, good staff. Very much enjoyed the music on the lower floor, which has a dance floor and a few nice games. I imagine it can get more lively but it was almost empty at the time. I did enjoy the music selection though.
Black Star Dust
Black Star Dust: Penn social is a dope spot for watching sports! The downstairs area is filled with projector size screens and the sound system is a close second to being at the game. Great place to go check it you favorite teams and meet up with friends. They have other games to play like corn hole, basketball and giant sized Jenga. Lots of choices on tap and a full bar. Great spot.
Daniel Dias
Daniel Dias: Cool spot to hang out with friends have a drink and play some games. Staff was cool! Only complaint was online it said they would have the UFC fights on and when we arrived no fights. So had 2 drinks and left.
ThinkPink Cottages
ThinkPink Cottages: We had a great experience at this place on Sunday. Our bartender Jasmine Was very knowledgeable and attentive we had Prosecco on tab with fresh orange juice pot pie and couple cocktails. This place is a great relaxing for easy beverage.
Natalie Thomas
Natalie Thomas: Drinks are fine although they kept making my friends and I’s orders wrong (I ordered for a whiskey sour, got a gin and tonic, someone asked for a vodka cran, we don’t even know what we got.) The place is huge though and dancing is always fun and they play a variety of music which is nice! Kitchen closed before we got there sadly so don’t know what the food is like
Mayo Tracy
Mayo Tracy: I really like this spot. Great music and the drinks were really good. Staff was friendly and I like the option of being able to purchase seats. Kevin Ross was amazing too.
erica chin
erica chin: Went to see Kevin Ross at this venue. Show was supposed to start at 8:00 PM and at 8:20 show hadn’t started. The seating chart that was published for the show was different than how the seats were ranged for the show. Everyone was jammed into a small space and people were allowed to stand and block views of people who bought tables. Never coming back here. Horrible, horrible venue.
Jim Dalton
Jim Dalton: Had pictures of games. Not open unless large event. Happy hour prices are always applied. Wouldn’t come back.
Response: Hi Jim, I'm sorry your visit to Little Penn Coffeehouse didn't meet your expectations. We had to pivot after COVID and we're trying something new! I hope you give us another chance if you are ever in the mood for a craft cocktail, breakfast sandwich or a boozy coffee cocktail. Best,

Doyle: what do users think?
Justin Leach
Justin Leach: The servers were very friendly but 4-5 different people visited my table through the night, I wasn’t sure who my server was and who was just there to refill waters because everyone seemed to be switching roles. Even the host refilled my wine. They weren’t even too busy. I never got my salad, which in my situation was fine because I wasn’t too hungry anyway and really just wanted a couple drinks but normally would not be okay, and when I asked for the desert menu it took 20 minutes because they apparently only had one copy and all the tables were sharing it. Again, very friendly but confusing service. Can’t speak to the food because I never ended up getting mine.
Response: Thank you for sharing feedback on your recent experience at Doyle. While we're pleased to learn you found our staff to be friendly, we are disappointed to learn we felt short on delivering a memorable experience. Please know I have shared your comments with our team to ensure the high service standards we have set for our team are consistently upheld. Alyssa Miller
Alyssa Miller: I usually love the Doyle however - after over a month of not setting foot in the establishment I was charged over $85.00. Let me be clear - I have not lost my card, it has been in my possession the entire time. It has been impossible to get this resolved and incredibly disappointing in that the likely cause of this was a staff member running my card information and pocketing the money. My goal has been reversed and that has been not only incredibly difficult to do - I have been promised call backs from the manager that have never materialized. At this point I don’t see myself ever going back to what was one of my favorite places to enjoy a drink and wonderful atmosphere and I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone because they might be stolen from.
Response: Good Afternoon, Alyssa. We are deeply concerned to learn of this issue. After further review, it appears there was a delay of charge from the credit card processing company from your original visit. A member of our team would like to be in touch to provide additional details surrounding this charge. Please be assured that credit card details are never stored in our systems. When convenient, please send us an email with your contact information so we have the opportunity to make amends for this inconvenience. Regards, Julian Enright Bar Manager Hello@doyle.bar
Lina G
Lina G: The best spot to kill your vibes. I felt disrespected. My taste buds felt disrespected. The three days old burger buns were offensive to my very culinary enthusiastic existence. The pickle wouldn’t take in the knife or teeth. The cocktail tastes like slushy. The bartender attends to customers not in the order of first come first serve, but in the order of shades - of course white to black. The manager looks like he hit the loto making management in the midst of lack of labor in covid era. If you came in ravenous, you’ll leave mortified or else you’ve simply lost your taste. What a shame it’s in the heart of DC. Sat June 25th, 2022. 11pm

Martin's Tavern: what do users think?
Jeannie Hill
Jeannie Hill: We both love historical sites and on multiple occasions have gone to Martin’s Tavern when visiting Washington DC and the Georgetown area. We’ve been privileged to converse with the owner and his daughter to say thanks in person for the food and service. I would guess they do a great job of making each individual dining feel special. The quaint great atmosphere, fantastic food and excellent service add to the fun experience of “stepping back in time”. The individual booths and tables are sufficiently intimate enough for a wonderful dinner and the feel of private conversations. It is remarkable at Christmas time in the midst of festivities; the images attached here are from two years ago. They decorated superbly for the holiday which makes it very homey and celebratory! A lovely mix of people of people groups and whole families dine here. Give yourself enough time to look around and take in dessert, too. The staff was friendly, professional and busy. The menu offers a great selection and everything that we’ve tasted has been enjoyable! Martin’s Irish Coffee, Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas, First Lady Cocktail with a nice raspberry twist, Hot Chocolate, Lobster Risotto, Crab Cakes, Martin’s Shrimp & Gritts, Shepherd’s Pie with Lamb, and Grandma Martin’s Meatloaf are all items that I can recommend. I highly recommend visiting – even during the lunch hour, it may be best to make a reservation as the place is a favorite for locals as well as a destination for out-of-state guests. With its BIG history, it’s rather small in size and tucked on the street corner. It’s not easy to find parking, but definitely worth a good walk.
H D
H D: Delicious turkey dinner with sweet potato purée and green beans. Fair salad and French onion soup. Good service. Decent prices for the portion size. And a very nice, classic atmosphere with interesting history. Does not feel stodgy.
Gerald Brown
Gerald Brown: We had a proper breakfast here: challah French toast with sausage, bacon, home fries and hot chocolate. Everything was good.
Mica Ann
Mica Ann: Make sure to make a reservation as this place gets packed quickly. With its rich history and good food, this is a must visit for every tourist. Like me. There’s no guarantee you will get the historic table you are eyeing. With a reservation, you just might. If there’s a special occasion, include that too in your note. We went for brunch and everything we ordered are good. They offer typical American fair but it’s so tasty. We ordered the corned beef hash and two orders of eggs benedicts (I forgot which one). One order, my mother in law and I split coz we just came from breakfast. lol.
Jacqueline Schillinger
Jacqueline Schillinger: Such a charming spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat! Very delicious onion soup and if you’ve never had a hot brown it’s a great place to try it!
chparatrooper88
chparatrooper88: Famous Martin’s Tavern. Restaurant of choice for President’s and the powerful. Try the espresso martini. Local dark beer is worth a look. Pricey, but, worth a look. No veteran discount…fyi.
Dan Yu
Dan Yu: Best brunch restaurant I have been to in a while!! Their french onion soup and shepherds pie are amazing!!! Bread pudding makes me feel like I had an American grandma. 10/10

Exiles Bar: what do users think?
Molly Crabb
Molly Crabb: Exiles has been the go-to UNC bar during the tournament (and hopefully forever?) and going to all the games has been a BLAST. The waiters were SO accommodating and pushed through a packed room to deliver food with a smile. We had tech issues with the TV and they had multiple people come and try to fix and figured it out quickly! My 64 year old mom even had a good time and said she’d go back.
Shaina Eckles
Shaina Eckles: Great drinks, fantastic atmosphere & super rad bathroom art.
Response: Thanks for the kind words Shaina. We really appreciate it!
Brian Webster
Brian Webster: Loved this DC area Buffalonian bar! Exiles is a great location with awesome service, great food, and impressive drink selection. I got the wings (crispy and great) paired with a couple of Labatts, as well as a Catalonian Spritz that was refreshing. This place would be amazing to watch the Bills this fall!
Response: Cheers Brian, fingers crossed for a big year for the Bills
Amit S
Amit S: The 5th best bar on u street apparently. I still have to find the first four. The whole team is rocking. Good time guaranteed. Love you all!!!

ChurchKey: what do users think?
C Yager
C Yager: Great craft beer bar, knowledgeable bar staff, 50 beers on tap, wish they had less national/big craft beers on tap and more local. Extensive beer bottle list with hard to find beers, especially good Belgium beer selection. Fast friendly service, hard to notice from the street. Definitely recommend a visit if you love beer.
Jonathan Isett
Jonathan Isett: Top notch selection of craft beers in DC. Also one of the most extensive whiskey/ bourbon catalogs around. Atmosphere is good, and the food comes through. The homemade tots are a must have. Great location on 14th st close to Logan circle. Stop and have a beer or two.
Rossukon Jandech
Rossukon Jandech: Beer Brunch Event on June 25th, 2022Great event, great employee, great service.Meet famous brewers there as well, so awesome.
Taylor Friedman
Taylor Friedman: I love churchkey but the service here needs improvement. I’ve been twice since they reopened with the latest being a Saturday night around 11:30. Busy but not crazy. Was able to find a seat at the bar. After I sat down it took at least 5 minutes just to get a bartender to acknowledge me. Was handed food and drink menus. After that probably another 5 minutes to get my order in. I thought it was weird that the bartender didn’t provide water when I sat down. I feel that it’s customary to do so at a bar as so not to make people drunk quickly. After I ordered my second drink I placed an order for food as well and was told the kitchen closed at midnight. That would have been helpful to know as I got there at almost quarter til so that was annoying. Shortly before I left there was also a guy at the bar who was passed out and one of the bartenders slammed a bottle really hard on the counter to wake him up and I thought that was kind of unnecessary. All in all, definitely a craft beer Mecca but just keep in mind service can be kinda spotty. (P.S.- they made the place brighter after they reopened so you can actually see going up that long flight of stairs and the menu once you’re inside!)
Tom W
Tom W: Great list of beers. Nothing I was too interested in and I love me some craft beers. But that’s not their fault, that’s my palate. The issue was the service being absolute trash when the bar wasn’t even busy and they had ample staff. Drinks took about a half hour to come out so we ended it early and just left.
Response: Hello Tom, I am very sorry to hear about your experience. Thank you for your feed back. We appreciate any kind of feed back that can help us improve. I would love to hear more about your time here. If you would be able to email me at dpitcher@neighborhoodrestaurantgroup.com. Best regards, Dylan

Abdul Kader Surti: I absolutely love board games and this place has an amazing collection of games. The drinks are great and they make a mean spiked hot cocoa! I wish there were some snacks to munch on, other great place to hang with friends
Ciara B
Ciara B: Margarita pizza was disgusting. Came out lukewarm (barely that). No taste and just a real disappointment. Do not order. Atmosphere is nice and they have a large selection of board games
Samantha
Samantha: So much fun to grab a few friends and shake off the workday here. Their happy hour deals are insanely good, especially for DC. $4 rail drinks & $4 drafts. Games are free to rent during happy hour, too! Loved the bartender.

Jeff Corcelius
Jeff Corcelius: Good drinks, awesome courteous staff! Go play, drink, and have fun!

Andriana Genualdi
Andriana Genualdi: Great bar for chill hanging out with friends. I went there recently in the late afternoon to play some board games with a couple of friends and we had a great time. We ended up sitting at the small round high top tables that’re near the bar, there was enough room for card games and battleship but I suggest if you have more than 2 people you pick a larger table so you don’t have to worry about losing pieces onto the floor. My friends seemed to enjoy the beer selection and I opted for a glass of house wine on happy hour
