The Pub & The People: what do users think?

Ethan Z: Great Restaurant!! This Restaurant is in the city area and offers indoor and outside seating!! The menu is rather small but the food and drinks were great!! The wait staff were friendly and professional!! The restaurant was also clean and well presented. The bathrooms are coolly decorated too with people sending pictures in of there family pets in to be featured on the wall. Overall great!

Becky Gomez: Such a great spot for a lonely, taveling vegetarian! 😂 Bar service was superb and a delightful vibe. Great beer selection. Perfect shishitos 🌶️ and tempura cauliflower!

AJ Hendricks: Pub and the People is our favorite outdoor spot in Bloomingdale. The beers they have on tap are great, and the food (specifically, the Black Bean burger and "The Heidi" Fried Chicken sandwich) is very solid. The tempura cauliflower sauce is also amazing. Matt, the manager, is very friendly and just a welcoming face to see when you come in. This radiates through the whole staff. The happy hour specials are awesome, and run for most of the day on the weekends. Enjoy!

Parker Kelley: Very great experience here ! We’ve passed this place numerous times and I’ve always said I wanted to try it. So, we finally did ! I ordered the Heidi chicken sandwich which was very tasteful. It came with a side of fries which were also very good. The service was great - 3 or 4 people continuously came to check on us. I’d definitely eat here again.

Bobbi DeAnda: Such a great brunch spot! The outdoor patio is pup friendly (and the bathroom inside is a must see for dog lovers haha). The biscuits and gravy with fried chicken was TO DIE FOR. So yummy! Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Callum Wayman: A great local pub for people in Eckington and Bloomingdale. The pub offers a great selection of beers, wine, and cocktails as well as an excellent food menu (try the tempura cauliflower, chicken sandwich, and the fries). In the winter they offer group seating around large fire pits for small gatherings. I found that to be a huge boon when trying to gather friends outdoors while being mindful of COVID during the winter. The staff are nice and helpful.

Amy Burdon: Had dinner and played trivia - food menu was fairly short but with lots of tasty items - I enjoyed the curry wings and gazpacho. Staff were friendly, happy hour drinks were a good deal. All positives!

India Lindsay: Very friendly, cute neighborhood joint. Food and drinks are all pretty good. The wait staff are so friendly and laid back. It's a great spot for a casual drink after work or meeting up with a few friends in an easy-going atmosphere

Daniel Albert: Not sure what happened to this place. The drinks we got were fine, but the food was pretty subpar. Got the Cuban sandwich and the fries that came with it were way too peppered and salty. The food used to be great here. The vibe is still good - cozy and perfect for winter time.

Sanderson Tattersall: OK, I've reviewed a lot of restaurants, and this one was a chance encounter. Trip to DC, Air BNB nearby, popped in on our last night. Very cool decor, loved the shelving behind the bar with the books and booze mixed, industrial chic. Waitress was great, bartender was great, food was even better. My family of four all got different burgers and sandwiches and all were fantastic. Taps were pretty stellar and they had my favorite Great Lakes Brewing Co. beer, the Elliot Ness. My only regret is not actually living in the area so I can go back. TLDR definitely recommended. Get your A in here.

Post Pub: what do users think?

Hilda Kroll: My Diplomat Bacon Cheddar burger ($12.95) with sweet potato fries ($3) was so good and very reasonably priced for so much food. A good place to enjoy a relaxed, casual lunch.
Response: Thank you for taking your time to review us, Hilda! We are really glad to hear you had such a great experience. We look forward to having you back soon.

Nikoloz Gogilidze: very friendly service and nice public. I have been there twice and enjoyed both times. Burger is really nice and they offer to prepare meat even rare which is not an option in every bar.
Response: Thank you Nikoloz :) We are happy to hear you had such a great experience at Post Pub. We look forward to hosting you many more times in the future

Kat Dean: I never write Google reviews, but I've got to give it up to Post Pub. I work nearby and pick up lunch from them occasionally. Y'all, their spicy chicken sandwich with the truffle fries is a smash. It's so good. And I've had drinks there too and their whole atmosphere is great. It's a classic, an actual dive bar in downtown. I'm just so thrilled that they're back!
Response: Thank you so much Kat! We appreciate your feedback and support- looking forward to having you back in again soon :)

Mark Orebiyi: A friend and I got a drink and some dinner at this location recently and we were very happy about the service. Unfortunately the food did not match. We both ordered a fried chicken sandwich and were extremely upset. We relayed our disappointment to the manager and he seemed receptive.

Lisa Sullivan: All the way from Vermont and am loving this outdoor patio, mixed drinks during happy hour and a really amazing bar tender!
Response: Thank you so much for the kind review Lisa :)

Emma Austin: I felt so welcomed at Post Pub. The staff was over the top and extremely friendly. They were constantly checking in on us. The drinks were great. We only got one order of fries and they were good too. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.
Response: Thank you Emma! We are so happy to hear you had a great experience with us- please come back soon!

Joe Joemer: excellent customer service and kind people. I've gone there twice and have had a good time both times. Even rare meat can be prepared, which is not always a possibility in bars, and the hamburgers are particularly good.
Response: Thank you, Joe!

kristen jones: Went here at 9pm on a Saturday night with two friends. Ordered 3 beers totaling $20.90. Paid with $30 cash and the bartender took my money and didn’t give me any change. When I asked for my $9.10 change (with full intentions of tipping on the 3 beers we ordered) the (drunk) bartender went back to the register and got a $10 bill and slammed it on the bar in front of me and yelled in front of everyone “here you go, princess!” Apparently he thought he deserved a $10 (50%) tip on a check for three beers. I’ve been in the service industry for 15 years. This place deserves 0% gratuity for customer service. Would not recommend. Take your business elsewhere.

isela martinez: Drinks were good. Food took way too long for a simple burger, fries and mozzarella sticks. There only two other customers when we got there. The cheese wasn’t even melted onthe burger, the buns were burnt and mozzarella sticks didn’t even have mozzarella in them.Only came here cause Stans was closed. Next time I’ll just wait till theyopen. Server was nice
Response: Hi Isela- I am sorry that you had a less than satisfactory experience with us. Hi Isela. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration- we hope your next experience with us is better.

George Stover: The historic Pub in downtown DC is back. It was always cherished before and now with the new staff and menu, it can be cherished again. Go for the pub fare and stay for the experience.

The Dubliner Restaurant: what do users think?

H: I have never had a sublime turkey burger until I went here. Half a pound patties on toasted brioche buns with a side of thick cut fries. Great spot to hit a spot for pub food. The fries were a tad overly seasoned for my taste but I was thoroughly impressed by the burger of the day and the bison burger. Okay service. Restaurant is connected to a hotel in the back. Outdoor patio seating available. Nice atmosphere even though music was a bit too loud at times to converse.

Samar Al Kobrossy: Great place! The food is tasty and flavorful. The portions are big. The decoration is amazing. The waiters are attentive and can give you tips on how to navigate your way around the city. You can sit down, relax, and enjoy your food while listening to some beautiful Irish songs.

Kelly Hyer: Great local choice. Fabulous service and really great food. When in an Irish spot, must have the fish and chips. Seasoned fries- yum. Sooo good, highly recommend. Pretzel stix appetizer delish. Nice kids options too 👌 🌭 🍟

Brett Daviau: Breakfast was great. Salmon bagel with all the fixings. Poor server was trying her best to handle the whole shop by herself. Hope she can get some help. Delicious.

Thomas Suckow: The Monte Cristo sandwich was very delicious, the waitress said it was her mother's favorite and I can understand why. The meat was tender and cut easily with a fork despite the number of layers. Corn beef and hash was the best my wife ever had.

Bobbi DeAnda: AMAZING SERVICE!!! Food was ok, but the service was amazing. So friendly. So fast. So responsive. I actually left my sunglasses and someone ran them out to me!!! The French fries are AMAZINGGGGGG, but the rest of the food was just ok. Fish and chips, fish ok. Burger, ehh. I ordered the burger medium and it was well done. Probably a great spot for drinks and snacks, but wouldn’t go for lunch again. For drinks and French fries, YES!

Edward O'Beirne: Decent menu, good quality food, worth going again. Service was lackluster, possibly an element of understaffed but the place was nearly empty on a Friday afternoon 1pm. Greek salad with salmon was enjoyed. Philly cheesesteak about average. Cold beers. Nice outdoor seating view. Not first choice but would return.

Yvonne: From out of town and the Dubliner was our choice for dinner one night as it was close to our hotel. The service was meh, the place was quaint. The menu is small; however fish & chips were an option, I asked the waiter for his opinion between that and the Irish beef stew. He immediately said fish & chips. Three small strips of dry fish lightly breaded and lacking flavor, at least the fries were good, as was the pickle. I couldn't imagine what the stew was like if the fish was a better option. The salmon pastrami was said to be "ok" by my hubby. For the price of the food and the quality, it wasn't worth it to us, as we have enjoyed Irish pubs and this place doesn't hold a candle to any of them.

craig mossinger: This is an absolute must for lunch! Service is quick and friendly! Fish n chips and the Irish Rueben are phenomenal.

Steve Meier: Great place, and of course what do you order at an Irish Resturant? Fish & Chips and it was probably the best I have ever had. Some of my coworkers were Shepherd Pie fans and a couple others were more traditional and had a Chicken Sandwich. The common theme was everyone was happy with their meal. Service was great and atmosphere was pleasant.

Dan's Cafe: what do users think?

Greg Davis: One of the best Dive bars I’ve ever been too. They specialise in ketchup bottle cocktails. $28 for half a of bottle of spirits and mixer. But you get $5 back when you return the bottle. Great value beers here too. Love the hanging plants from the ceiling and faded browning walls, it’s just a fab place. Don’t miss it! And the miniature spirits bar is fantastic!! It’s cash only - ATM next door is pricey, so come prepared! The staff are really funny and friendly too!

Devin O. Stewart: A truly unique experience. Horrifying or wonderful depending on your perspective. This is a quintessential dive bar. Squeeze bottles of booze and cheap beer. Sticky floors, cramped booths and a ceiling that looks like it's about to fall in. Worth a visit.

Mark Zachery: Dirty and Divey just like I like it. Cocktails in squirt bottles. Also cheap beers. Doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned or renovated in like 50 years. Still love the vibe.

Emmet O'Shaughnessy: Probably the best dive bar I've ever been in! Fantastic squeeze bottles and cheap drinks, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Great place to spend a weekend night in. Will definitely be back

Y J: What's the hype about? Disgusting and rude bouncers that scream that they only accept cash the moment you enter the doors. What is this 1990's? Nobody carries cash anymore and why don't they accept card? Is it because the launder money and don't file taxes correctly? Save your time and efforts and avoid this place like a plague

Hunter G: Great run down bar that's sure to be a good time. Drinks are super cheap and they let you pour your own if you buy a fifth ($26). Make sure to return the bottle for $5 back. Almost everything in the bar is broken but it adds to the culture of the establishment and you shouldn't fine it too bothersome after a couple shots. Great place to go and highly reccomend if your attempting to set a personal best for how inebriated one can get.

DeAnna Burke: If you're looking for fancy and pretentious this is not a pave for you. Get a bottle of liquor with your favorite mixer and shot glasses for everyone in your party and you're good to go. It's always packed, so get there early if you want to find a seat.

Ivan Kotsiourouba: 10/10, my gf loved it , I am sure my relationship only got better after this

Bill Mall: One of the most unique and best small bars I have ever been to. For a little.over $20, they fill fill the squirt bottle with the liquor of your choosing, add a splash of whatever soda, juice, etc you want in it, and hand it over with shot glasses and the remaining juice or soda (to "cut" your shots so to speak). The bartender was awesome. No food, but there are plenty of nearby options and you can bring the food into the bar.

Mo Chatlani: A small, cash only,, tucked in spot that has no name on the outside but will definitely convince you to walk in because of its fantastic vibes. This bar does not close until you're the last to leave. They serve you liquor shots with a twist - emptying a quarter bottle of your poison into a squeeze bottle filled with ice and topping it off with your choice of soda and served with a smile be the best bartenders you'll ever come across. This spot is the real deal and calling this a "Must visit" would be an understatement.

Martha Wilson: Hip vibe at this neighborhood coffee. Cool interior but lots of space outside. Delicious food and coffee, too. Thumbs up!

Rebecca Peters: I’ve been here several times and had pretty mixed experiences. The staff is super kind and lovely. If you’re there to work, there’s very limited seating with plug access for charging devices. In ~5 visits, I’ve never been able to get on the wifi (even with restarting devices/the wifi itself etc.) The coffee is really good, but other aspects could use some improvement; I ordered a salad (~$15!) expecting it to be pretty substantial at that price. Was disappointed when it came with only a few pieces of grapefruit, half an avocado, and stemmy greens. Overall: go for good coffee, pre-charge your devices, consider not ordering salad.

Thomas G: Amazing avocado egg burrito, and tasty coffee. Lots of gluten free options, and milk alternatives. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Rosa: I love the vibe, the location, the avocado toast, the coffee and pastries of Emissary, but there are a few recurring issues that I hope they address: Some of the staff are very ignorant. You need to ask for one thing several times for them to address. The tables are not always being cleaned after someone leaves. People constantly come and go and sometimes you just get to sit at the dirty table and even when you ask for a napkin to clean the table, the person doesn’t come back. The WiFi also sucks. If you need to do stuff online, you can’t rely on their WiFi.

Tatiana Padilla: Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating; a variety of small plates; and delicious coffee! The space was cute and the staff was friendly. The espresso was a bit fruity and bright— not what I expected. Wish there were more breakfast pastries/breads available throughout the day as the food menu was a bit on the expensive side.

HK: My go-to comfort cafe in the neighborhood. Coffee and pastries are great. They have ample seating space indoors and outdoors, which makes it a great rendezvous point. They offer healthy food options although the portions aren’t big.

Lisa Giorgi: Cozy casual place, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Tried the egg sandwich which was tasty. Good for breakfast and work.

Jelena Djokic: Cool, indie coffee place. It serves delicious coffee and pastries. Prices are average. We got a tasty carrot cake cupcake there. The only thing that bugged me was that we took the food outside and there was simply no argonomic way to eat it without getting super messy, so I would recommend that they get utensils for the take-out.

Calvin Lietz: If you can find a table on the weekends, it's hard to imagine a better brunch spot. Great food with creative vegetarian options, excellent coffee (counter culture) and cute English basement spot. A familiar favorite that is always a good option

Bhinesha Seetaram: The best matcha latte. I took mine with almond milk.

Kirwan’s on the Wharf: what do users think?

Abhinav: Food: 3/5 Ambience:4/5 Service: 3.5 /5 The patio of this place on the wharf is pretty cool. We went there just because of that. The food was very mediocre for the prices they charge. We went around 9:15am, we had to ask for the menu twice, ask the waiter to bring cutlet after food was served. We were give only one menu card for a table of three. I guess the waiter was tired for the day but nevertheless expected better than that.

Kyle D: Cool place at the Wharf. Nice atmosphere, however the food was just okay. I’ve had better fish and chips before (the breading fell off the fish and didn’t seem to be seasoned as well as it could). The crab cake appetizer was very good, however.

Travis Alvarado: Service was good and location wasn't bad at all with seating outside, indoors on two floors. Lighting on the inside was a little dark for my taste after the sun went down. The food was great. The Flat Bread Pizza, and Fish and Chips seemed to be what everyone was getting besides all the drinks. Overall I enjoyed it and would go back again for the food and staff.

Antoinette Levon: Service was good. Cocktails were tasty. Food was ok. The Mushroom Soup was really good. But the Caesar Salad lacked dressing and some of the lettuce was brown and old. The gnocchi and squash dish was ok as well. The Pot Pie tasted like it needed something. was a bit bland. Overall it will do if you are hungry and want a drink before our concert. Next time we will try somewhere else.

* dnainsb: Really nice Irish pub located directly on the wharf. It has covered outdoor seating that it is beautiful. The food is classic English pub food. For example Shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, fish and chips, the menu is quite large if English pub food is not what you're looking for. There's a lot of alternatives. It's a really great place right on the wharf.

Paul LaVigne: Kirwans on the wharf is located right at the waterfront and is a good place to go if you have a hankering for Irish pub food. The location is excellent, and the interior is decorated very nicely, but the back room Bar area was exceedingly warm. That would be ok on a cool evening, however it was 90+ degrees when we went in and they’re looking to get relief from the heat. The bartender/waitress who served us was very nice and did a great job of making us feel comfortable. The food was superb as well. I had the bacon and cabbage meal which consisted of pork loin, bacon, cabbage and I opted for the sweet potato fries. It was one of the best pub meals I’ve had. My wife had the lamb burger with colcannon mash. She said it was the best burger and mashed potato dish she’s ever had.

catch_hug: Great for beers and a quick bite. Waiters seem all very good trained and attentive. Food was spiced dezent and authentically, even though the tuna poke (wich btw is not what you are serving) was way too much sesame. Local craft beers on tap, try the sour.

Sam D: Stopped here to avoid the humid day. Great atmosphere and cool a/c. I grabbed a Chicken Pot Pie and it was the best crispy crust and chicken was on point. Highly recommend 10/10

Elizabeth T.: We stopped in here for a few drinks after a free concert and we’re happy with the prices considering the area. We stayed for a few appetizers and I honestly wasn’t that impressed. It did it’s job with curbing my hunger but it was enough for us to choose to go somewhere else for dinner. They sat us quickly and the waitress was very attentive to our needs and brought out the food quickly.

Thao Huynh: Great views and service! The seafood tasted fresh, but it just felt like it needed some more flavor. The drinks were honestly not that great but they look good. Bathrooms look cool but there needs to be more light. For the prices, food quality could have been better, but our server was amazing.

Big Bear Cafe: what do users think?

Aramis Penland: Can a place with subpar food and drinks exist if its setting is enticing enough? Apparently at Big Bear Cafe it can! So while the chocolate bear paw pastry I had was a 2/5... and the cafe au lait was a 1/5... and despite it being 11am on a Sunday 90% of the pastry offerings were gone... I guess I still enjoyed my time at Big Bear because they have some decent outdoor seating space? I ask this both sarcastically and seriously. In all seriousness, I really hope someone else takes over this space and tries to actually make quality food and drinks. I don't say that to be mean, it just is a waste of a really nice space otherwise and the other reviews back this up.

Chelsea Kinsman: Dinging them 2 stars for only providing single-use plastic disposable cups and utensils and another star for the bland and basic “homemade” English muffin breakfast sandwich. Like so many cafes during the pandemic, Big Bear moved in a less sustainable direction which is sad to see and also unacceptable given how much we know about the affect of non-recyclable waste. Big Bear still does not permit dine-in on the bottom level, only outdoor seating and indoor seating upstairs (where the lone bathroom is), though they had blocked off all the seats outside in the sun the day we were there. Would recommend skipping this place in favor of more sustainable cafes until they improve their environmental practices as well as their food on offer.

Michael B: Really cute neighborhood cafe with some decent food and great drink options. I will say the breakfast sandwich left a little to be desired, felt fairly over priced. I've had much better local Bodega BEC in NY for half the cost, but perhaps that's not a fair comparison.

Andrew Thomas Clifton: It’s one of my absolute GO-TO spaces to hit in DC. The staff is great, the food is simple and also very very great, the only thing I do not like is if you sit outside be ready for lots of flies to be hovering.

stephanie wood: Honestly, not my favorite. The line gets very long and moves slowly. The staff is impatient, rushes you at the counter, and is borderline rude if you have questions. It’s difficult to find a seat and you are not welcome to linger. The vibe is BUSY. Creative Grounds coffee is around the corner and provides a much friendlier atmosphere.

Chanpen Tee: I ordered iced mocca. The coffee isn't strong, only taste the chocolatesyrup. I might order for double shot for next time. The staff is nice. I also like the decoration here

Georgia Craig: Best coffee I’ve had in DC, good milky got chocolate. Good array of baked goods. Could make the food menu clearer as I didn’t realise there was a food menu until I was served. Good bagels. Could improve cleanliness. Very busy. Rather expensive~ $45 for the food in the photo.

Joy R: Inside and outside space as well as a 2nd floor party area . Very cute. Serves coffee and drinks. The double cheeseburger was very good.

Joe Joe: A fast paced grab-n-go or sit down breakfast eatery that has phenomenal staff service and great avocado breakfast burritos. Went two times while visiting in Washington DC and it’s a must!

Craig Pratt: Nice little Cafe were you can sit for hours on your laptop or reading, I did both. Coffee was great ad was the service.

Across the Pond: what do users think?

Mark Darwin: Low key bar with a great selection of beers on tap. Didn’t try the food, but the options looked good.

Gina Elliott: I had my fathers 60th birthday here. The booking of the event was easy and the menu that was provided was great. The waiters and bartenders were quick and friendly. We had a chance to meet the owner while we were there and he was friendly and appreciative. I Love to support local business and I’m glad to have them in the city.

Amanda Casillas-Gallegos: Delicious Fish and Chips. Thick and great tasting!! Also tried the Cornish beef and macaroni w/cheese. Tried their Mango Beer, my son tried a Guinness and we LOVED IT!! Be careful menu does not show pricing!!

Jessica Flowers: Nice place for a drink in the late afternoon/early evening. I was easily able to get a seat at the bar for a couple of drinks and listen to the guys behind the bar talk about Derry Girls. Still couldn't find anything about season 4, but nice place. I can't believe I never tried it when I lived on Connecticut Ave a few years ago.

Jasmine Kaidbey: Watched the caps game here and will definitely be back. Very friendly and welcoming staff, prompt service, nice game atmosphere. Menu offers lots of options beyond the quality of your average sports bar. Glad to have tried it out!

Joshua Worthey: Great bar with great atmosphere and great food. We descended upon this place this last weekend. They didn't realize the convention was happening but overcame the issues as they piled on. This will be my go to when in DC from now on. Smaller place so not too crazy or loud.

Peter Pellegrino: Across the Pond is an awesome place! Service was spectacular and the food was authentic and out of this world. They always have so many options for sporting events on the tv’s. Their live music is always good and the speaker system sounds amazing.

Patrick Savoia: Came here for F1. Had no race specials and their brunch specials ended at 1pm. The food itself was passable at best and my cheese fries were clearly sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. A table next to us never even get their food after waiting nearly 90 minutes.
Response: Patrick, Thank you for your feedback. You happened to come into Across the Pond under irregular circumstances. We had cook no-show yesterday and by the time we were able to get another cook to come into work, the kitchen already had 25-30 tickets of food orders. Unfortunately, it took most of race for the kitchen to get caught up with orders. We have over 4.5 stars for our food and I’m happy to offer you a discount on your next meal to show you why we have such great reviews for our food. Thank you, ATP managment

Jim Laurenson: An oasis in the storm! Literally, it was storming and I was on my bike, so I Googled the nearest pub and found this excellent pub. Didn't look like much from the outside, but I persevered, found lots of nice people -- both guests and employees -- had a couple of excellent brews, and onion rings to die for!

Rita S: Drinks were inexpensive, fills up quickly when games are on so get there early

Hard Rock Cafe: what do users think?

Kelvin Ofula: A typical Hard Rock Cafe in the heart of DC. Strategically positioned. Loved the interior deco and their food. The staff were once again as amazing as always and very helpful. The lady at the souvenir shop was very very helpful and friendly. I loved every single bit here. The ambiance was great and so was the music. Hard Rock is just pure positive vibrations and I always try to visit one when in an area with one. I would totally recommend.
Response: Thank you for the thoughtful 5 star review Kelvin! We hope to welcome you back to the Washington DC cafe soon!

Matt Daniel: A classic Hard Rock Cafe in the heart of DC. A great layout within what appears to be a old fashioned restaurant or bar. The rock n roll decor is seamlessly integrated into the Art Deco along the walls. The staff were very hospitable and I recommend making a reservation as you can ask for better seating up stairs or in the back. There was one tv above the bar featuring music videos of various famous rock n roll bands. The pricing was reasonable for the area and the options for food were good with large portions. I’d recommend to stop by if you haven’t been, hope this helps!
Response: Thank you for the thoughtful 5 star review Matan! We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit!

Yogis Dogie: Nice place to visit in DC. Extremely busy but very nicely decorated. Unfortunately the food is very mediocre. Looks great, tastes bland and almost always served cool or cold. The hamburgers have an odd seasoning in them that can be off putting. Fries are good but the portion is pretty small (in relation to the price). The gift shop is well stocked. The rewards program changes its guidelines too frequently and dumps points out too often to be useful. Basically, it’s a nice place to visit, but one visit is plenty.
Response: Dear Yogis, Thank you for visiting HRC DC and taking the time to provide your feedback! Please accept my apologizes for not delivering a 5 star experience, if there is ever anything we can do to assist on your next visit please do not hesitate to reach out to the management team at Washington_DC_Social@hardrock.com Thank you, Sara Lester - Sales & Marketing Manager

Adam: It's just your typical Hard Rock Cafe. Good food and drinks. No wait. Our waiter, Terry, was very attentive and polite. Great place to grab a bite when touring DC. *please note* you get more onion rings than pictured!
Response: Hello Adam, Thank you so much for your recent review of the Hard Rock Cafe in Washington D.C. We appreciate the 5 star review! Best regards, Erik Bolme General Manager Hard Rock Cafe Washington D.C.

Bailey Alexander: This was my third time eating at this particular Hard Rock Cafe! This location really stands out. It’s in the heart of the city so it’s really nice to tour monuments an things and then ride electric scooters to here and park them. Then you can relax and unwind, ride scooters back around to tour more things in DC. The food is always very flavorful and good. The drinks are always perfect. This location has an excellent modern style with lots of arts and things on the walls. I highly recommend checking this place out while in DC.
Response: Hello Bailey Alexander, Thank you so much for the 5 star review! Best regards, Erik Bolme General Manager Hard Rock Cafe Washington D.C.

David Arrimadas: Very good Hard Rock restaurant. I have been in lot of them all over the world and this is a very good one. I love the open kitchen concept and the kindness of all the staff. The brownie is delicious and soooo big. Difficult to finish it even when sharing!
Response: Hello David Arrimadas, Thank you so much for your 5 star review! Best regards, Erik Bolme General Manager Hard Rock Cafe Washington D.C.

WorldofDaph: I try to go to hard rock in every city I visit and usually it is a pleasant experience but not today. I came to this location and sat down in the bar area waiting 10-15 minutes for someone to take a drink order. Considering how tired and hungry I was I had no energy to even leave. One of he waitresses at the bar looked at me and my fiancé multiple times and never came over. She was behind the bar scratching her back under her shirt and didn’t even wash her hands. When she finally came to our table she pulled out her cellphone to text someone. Having been a service manager in restaurant for years I was completely dumbfounded at the disrespect. I’m a pretty mild mannered fair person but this Waitress was awful. I will say the kitchen staff was doing a great job. They were pushing food out but the servers just weren’t running food which caused it to just sit in the window. The receipt said the waitress name was Sara. All I know is Sara needs to be demoted to hostess or let go. Upon leaving I brought these things to the managers attention but I could tell she didn’t really care. She offered to give me her card. That’s won’t do much at all. I watch the manager stand on the expo line and watch plates die in the window. Saturdays can be quite tough and she was probably tired and over it herself. All in all I will never return to this location.
Response: Hello WorldofDaph, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent visit. What you experienced is absolutely not the type of authentic Hard Rock atmosphere we strive to provide. I apologize that your concerns were not addressed when you brought them to the attention of the manager on duty, we will make sure they are addressed immediately. If you have the time to discuss your experience in further detail you can reach our management team at: Washington_DC_Social@hardrock.com I do appreciate your recognition of the Kitchen Staff and will happily share your praise with them! I hope that we can connect further on email. Thank you, Sara Lester - Sales & Marketing Manager

gary becker: We had a party of 16 people. We went to Hard Rock Cafe because my previous experience at other HRCs was exceptional. Great customer service, but not at this location. We only had one server that rarely attended to our table. Drinks were empty most of the time. I asked 4 times for artificial sweetener and still never got it. I asked 3 times for a ice tea refill and it was refilled only once. Others in our party had the same experience. Tables around us were messy with food on the floor around us from previous customers and it was never tended to. The experience was so disappointing that I spoke with the manager on shift. All she said was that every restaurant was under staffed and service everywhere was impacted. Rather than take responsibility, she only verbalized excuses. Without even attempting to make the situation right. My hamburger was satisfactory, but the French frys were ice cold. I informed our waiter and all he did was say that due to our party size, some food had to sit awhile while waiting for other orders to be filled. Absolutely ZERO customer service. I even apologized to each member of our party for the poor experience they received because it was that bad. Saddens me that a HRC would allow it's service to get to this degraded level. Update: Connected with Sara Lester, Hard Rock Café Sales and Marketing Manager. Sara reassured me that all the issues I brought to her attention would be immediately addressed. As with any business or organization. There will be times a product fails or a process / service does not meet expectations. It happens to everyone. But what they do next is what really matters. Sara detailed the steps they would take to correct the situation to ensure future customers receive “Best In Class” service and food. Sara has regained our confidence in Hard Rock Café and we look forward to our next visit.
Response: Dear Gary, I really appreciate you taking the time to share about your experience. This is not the level of service Hard Rock aims to deliver. The details you shared will be very helpful in coaching our team to improve so that this does not happen again. Are you still in the DC area? I would like to invite you back as my VIP guests so that I can ensure you receive the service you deserve. Please feel free to reach out to me at Washington_DC_Social@hardrock.com Thank you, Sara Lester - Sales & Marketing Manager

Arthur Hurlburt: We would give it five stars but we ate so much that it upset our stomachs. I suppose I can't blame them for that! The burgers are good, the chicken fingers are better. They are real chicken, battered beautifully. Very, very good. Their t-shirts are pricey, but that's too be expected. The brownie sundae was amazing! Big enough to share.
Response: Hello Arthur Hurlburt! Thank you for your feedback! Best regards, Erik Bolme General Manager Hard Rock Cafe Washington D.C.

Rachel Cook: We had a very large group with reservations. They were not prepared. Some of the staff was great, but others were not. The food, for those who actually got food, was mediocre. If this continues, the DC Hard Rock will suffer the same fate as others around the country...permanently closed. It is disappointing 😞
Response: Dear Rachel, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. I hope that you can accept my apologizes for not being prepared and delivering a 5 star experience. I am glad that there were a few staff members that were great. We are grateful for your patronage and will continue to strive for improvement so we can better tend to your group on the next visit. Thank you, Sara Lester - Sales & Marketing Manager

Present Company Public House: what do users think?

Matthew Murphy: Great neighborhood pub! Very nice craft beer selection and the food is excellent - the chef comes from fine dining and is basically doing elevated casual pub food. Lots of awesome vegetarian options too and the staff is always friendly and attentive. You don't see quality neighborhood pubs like this in DC too often anymore!

Jess: My boyfriend and I stayed nearby so we literally had brunch, dinner and dessert (not all in the same day) but service was polite and speedy, wait staff checked in regularly to ensure everything was okay/refill drinks. Menu a bit smaller in selection however great quality and presentation. Really enjoyed the outdoor lighting and even inside had a cool relaxing vibe with music and comfortable seating. Would definitely come again- probably for dinner their burgers were our favorite and their drink specials looked awesome.

Natalie I: I cannot say enough amazing things about our experience here and with Lauren. We had a welcome reception the night before our wedding upstairs in the Dalmation room with about 40 attendees. Everything from beginning to end was handled wonderfully in terms of planning. We wanted something simple and just wanted to create an atmosphere that would give us more time to bond with our guests. And they delivered! The room was set up perfectly with open spaces but also seating for those that needed to sit. The food was set up in the corner, allowing photos of the awesome mural in the background. The food was also AMAZING!! We heard so many compliments from folks - especially about the mini boa w/ bacon, nashville hot chicken sliders, and tuna tartar. My personal fave is the onion tip with the inhouse made chips. We elected for an open bar with whatever guests wanted to order. I was worried this may be overwhelming to the bartender (not having any preset drinks for group this size) but he handled everything perfectly. I never waited for a drink and never saw anyone else waiting for a drink. If you are planning an event, I recommend this place! Such a unique space with a team that really cares about their business, food and giving you the experience you want and deserve.

Aaron Schinstock: We have lived in the area for about two years and eat out regularly. Lots of places have great service. There are tons of places with great food. Some even have sublime drinks. This is the first place where we had all 3 effortlessly. Plus, the ambiance is superb. If you’re looking for an ideal dining experience, this is your spot. If you want it at a reasonable price, this is your lucky day. If you’re willing to “pay for quality”, I’d still recommend this restaurant. There are places where you can pay more, but nowhere where you can get better food AND service. We are particular about our BBQ. When we were considering the burnt ends, the chef sent out a sample of their sauce (amazing). We hadn’t eaten here before and our server suggested one of us should sub the tots for our fries. Excellent suggestion. Our server was the head bartender and yet the other restaurant staff ensured we were never even remotely neglected when our server was busy. I can’t think of a single thing they could’ve done better. If I could give them a million stars, I would. If you’re still reading this review, STOP READING AND JUST EAT HERE.

Imdancer D: All star. The brunch and bottomless mimosas were incredible. Really though, our server Bianca was so awesome. She helped us out finding things around the city and was just an overall warm, sunny person. Great food, great service!

Arik D. Brown: The food we tried was very good. I really enjoyed the wings and Vegan Curry Bowl. My wife also enjoyed the Ahi Tuna Burger.. Service was very friendly as well. The only thing that was not optimal was the wait for the food. There were very few customers and it took awhile for our food to be served. For most of our time my wife and I were the only ones dining inside. I would definitely recommend this place!

Julia Xia: Booked Present Company for 2 private work events - beautiful, intimate venue with red brick walls and a mural upstairs. Food was yummy and Lauren is so kind and a joy to work with! She answered all my questions in a timely way, gave thoughtful recommendations about our food orders, and made everyone feel welcome. The bartenders were great too and served a hot bourbon cider that i drank way too much of!

Lyndsey Clos: I came here for my graduation brunch with a party of 12 and this was the best experience I’ve ever had at brunch in DC. I brunch a LOT and Lauren is by far the best, most shining personality I’ve had. She made our experience so fun and pleasant, and I cannot recommend this enough! I can’t wait to go back. PS - the orange crush and avocado Benedict are to die for.

Jay Bauer: I love this place! Great vibe, awesome service / people, and insanely good food for a neighborhood pub/restaurant. DO NOT sleep on the tuna burger! Upon first bite it instantly became my go-to favorite. Don’t be fooled by the description, like I was initially. Typically I prefer a filet cut if ordering a fish sandwich - so when I saw that the tuna was ground, I shied away. Eventually I got talked into it by a former bartender, Patrick, who said it was hands down his favorite thing on the menu. Well, I did and now it’s mine as well. I’ve literally ordered it for lunch and then gone back and had it again for dinner on multiple occasions. So, to sum up…get yourself to Present Company and if you’re hungry, grab the tuna burger - you’ll thank me later. If you see a ꓭ. sticker behind the bar, that’s me! Be present. Be company. Just BE. Love this place, you will too…but try and keep it our little secret! Enjoy!

Chris Taylor: Big, interesting space with a cool history. The space had fast service, interesting drinks, and a standard dare menu that was nevertheless very tasty. Great spot if you're looking for a simple crowd pleaser.

Union Pub: what do users think?

Jameelah Lewis: So I came all the way from Vegas to have a great time with friends, and we made plans to eat at union pub. The atmosphere was nice, but unfortunately the dining experience differed. We had a party of 8 and they couldn't get anyone's order to the right place and they forgot to bring out requested items. This is not a fan fave and I recommend that you save your coins if you can or try something else!!!

Nickie Bishop: It’s a nice place to stop as there a great patio area and it’s close to activities. We got there on a Saturday when it opened so the service was fine. The food was disappointing. Ordered from the brunch menu - the cheesy French toast was terrible! Flavorless, crusty, cold and barely any cheese. Otherwise the menu was the usual bar food which seemed fine. Hubby had the burger and said it was “OK”. We were here a few years ago on a week day and it had a great lunchtime vibe!

Alexis Green: I ordered buffalo wings and sweet potato fries for pickup. It took about 15-20 minutes. I get there, and they tell me they're out of sweet potatoe fries. So they gave me regular fries instead. I was okay with that. However, when I checked my food, I saw they gave me barbecue wings. They took the food back to the kitchen, came back 2 minutes later and said my order was fixed. I check the food, and the "buffalo" wings looked really dark. The chicken looked different from before, but lighting made it hard to really tell. After coming home to better lighting, and taking a bite, I realized they really did toss the barbecue wings in buffalo sauce. Even the fries still had barbecue residue on them. I may have gotten my money back, but that was a lot time wasted on disappointment.

Richard Mahaffey: Another very nice venue and very popular happy hour gathering place. Patriots are very friendly and happy. Also employees appear to be happy and seem to love their job and the people that come there...

Alex Lafond: Came here alone one night after work for a beer and food, entered through the patio where the was a sign that said "wait here to be seated". So I did. I sat there for 10 minutes while the bartender walked past me 5 or 6 times before acknowledging I was there. When he did, his first words to me were "Can I help you?" in a snotty tone. I replied yeah sign says wait to be sat, and he rolled his eyes and said "Sit wherever you want". Waitress only came over after 10 minutes to take food and drink order. After everything came out, only saw her again when she said, "Would you like the check?". Only reason this review is getting a 2 star and not 1 is because the food was actually ok and not absolute trash. During my time, the bartender just openly complained about anything and everything and was just not an over all pleasant person. I have been back one time since, didn't get any attitude, but service was slow as hell. Likely won't be coming back unless I have no other option or am really hungry and dont want to wait.

Ren Jax: Any place with sweet potato fries is already thumbs up for me. Aside from that, the staff was present, and friendly. The food was seasoned just right, and I loved the portions served. We sat on the patio around lunchtime, which looked like it was used for extra storage space in some sections. A little crowded, the tables and chairs could probably be arranged to better utilize the space, or just use less of them in the space.

Gus Nordhielm: Unbelievably aggressive and condescending manager. She spoke to my partner in an incredibly demeaning manner and refused us service when I asked her not to speak to us that way.

Xenon Booth: Great outdoor space for those not ready for indoor mingling yet. Remember to pack your proof of vaccination and photo ID (not on phone). Drinks are reasonably priced though service was a little slow.

Emily Smith: Definitely check out Union Pub! The bartenders were so sweet and the food was just awesome. Really great atmosphere both outside and in the back at the bar. Check it out asap!

Jason Dubar: We were in the area and needed to escape the heat and find a nice drink to cool off with. So, finding good reviews for Union Pub, we decided to give it a try. I ordered a local beer and my fiance wanted one of their mixed drinks they offer - they were out of the ingredients. Ok, no problem. She ordered a different mixed drink - nope, out of those too. Feeling defeated, she ordered a beer, which the bartender said was good...it was not, but it helped beat the heat. We did not try their food, which must be good, as there was a good sized crowd seated outside.

Residents Cafe & Bar: what do users think?

Andrea Betances: This place is cute and the drinks are really good. Our server was very nice and helpful. The star of the show was the mini gyro. The pasta was eh and the burger was good but not the best we’ve had. I would come again just for drinks and the mini gyros. It seems like the menu changes often which is refreshing so I would love to come back and try new things.

Ardavan Tookaloo: Wow, wow, wow! If you are looking for a “WOW” factor, this is your place. This place is beautiful, romantic and cozy . So if you are with group of friends or you are on a date it is a great place either way. Drinks are unique and generous! Food taste good and delicious! It is really different from typical bars and restaurant. 1000% recommend it.

TexCat: Fabulous in every way. Definitely sit outside if the weather is conducive. Drinks were heavenly - had the ‘Wild Strawberry’.Ordered the sea bass, it was truly wonderful. My friend had the mini gyros and fries. The soft scoop with mango was the perfect light dessert to share after.

Megan: Hours are limited so always check that. the day I went they didn't open until 4 pm. Definitely make a reservation. This place gets busy and we got our table for two hours but they said we were free to hang out longer in the bar after that. Seasonal decorations right now are cherry blossoms which are beautiful. Definitely nice weather to sit outside in the covered patio area. inside by the bar though is just as beautifully decorated with just as much cherry blossoms. Drinks were great. Getting that big bottle to share is a really good deal. Food was great and the small bites were a great size to share between three people to get multiple different things of so we could try them all. I liked all the food we got which was the bowl of fries, mini gyros, steak tartare, avocado cicchetti, and pasta alfredo.

Layth Baheej: The food was amazing, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. On top of that, Gustavo, our waiter, have done an excellent job recommendations for drinks, explaining the minute and food sizes. All in all, my birthday and my best friend’s birthday ended up with an amazing customer service and great food. Thank you

Tania Abraham: I discovered Residents about 6 months ago and it's easily one of my favourite places to grab the brunch. The variety of dishes on the menu, mean there is something for everyone. The menu and cocktails change seasonally as well... So, each time I've been, I've had a completely new dish and they have ALL been amazing. The cocktails are all fantastic as well. The outdoor seating adds the perfect ambiance to great conversations with friends, a date or solo dinner.

N T-K: First time and it was really good! The staff is what really gave it 5 stars! The Paloma was amazing and the shots we tried! The mini gyros are ridiculously good! But the price is too high for such a small portion. I would still reccomend this place! Just don't get too many mini gyros!

SUE: A super cute restaurant in Washington DC that you MUST visit🙌🏻 To be honest I didn’t have any expectations that meals and drinks could be good in such a “fancy” restaurant. The truth is I was so wrong and their food is not only pretty but also delicious. Moreover, the drinks are really nice. What could I say? They just nailed it! I really had a great time and certainly recommend here! You MUST come here when you travel to DC next time. You would enjoy the chill atmosphere and have wonderful drinks and meals here. However the restaurant is quite popular, so I suggest that making a reservation in advance is definitely necessary. ✨One of 2021 Michelin Bib Gourmand Winners in Washington, DC More travel & restaurant recommendations in instagram @itssuechen

Charles Simms (Charlie): It’s not often you stumble upon such an Instagrammable restaurant whose food tastes better than it looks. (And their food looks amazing!) We ordered charred octopus, bowls of fries, cornish hen, grilled fish, fish burgers, and a smash burger. Everything was delicious, and we can’t wait to dine here again the next time we pop into D.C.

Edward Wu: Absolutely loved the food! Got the figs and ricotta, Turkish eggs (highly recommend adding the salmon and fried cheese), and residents bowl. Nice ambiance and friendly servers

Harry's Restaurant: what do users think?

Sam D: Nice small town/family type place. Richard was a great guy and was pretty outgoing for whatever advice you wanted, whether food or DC activities. I just had cheese fries and alcohol but would definitely come again. 5/5

* dnainsb: If you're looking for a good hole in the wall bar while you're in Washington DC Harry's is the place! We stopped in for lunch and it is classic down to earth blue collar worker bar and restaurant. The drinks were stiff and the food was actually very good.

J B: Stopped in after a fun night tour and loved the atmosphere! A real local place with great people , amazing bartender and friendly regular patrons made the experience even more enjoyable. The menu has all you need and the food was delicious! We were able to catch the last part of the game on and truly had fun with everyone cheering the hometown team. I highly recommend...absolutely worth it .

Archie Pollock: Food was was delicious and huge portions Service was okay. Our waitress was either friendly or strangely cold to us, and I couldn't understand why. It felt a little like we were an inconvenice The male toilets are like from a nightmare, and I am not exaggerating. Please see to this, as it is damaging to the overall sense of cleanliness of the restaurant

The RCWR Show: Was here during Awesomecon weekend. The only thing that was good about this place was the customer service we received. The carpeting and seating arrangements was decent too. My wife had a cheeseburger and for her it was extremely bland, no flavor what so ever, no flavor in the bread either. The burger was burnt on the outside, somewhat undercooked inside. I had a bite and can confirm. It didn't even really taste like a burger to be honest. I had a tuna sandwich and for me it had no flavor in it whatsoever. Had me wondering if I was really eating tuna. My wife had tater tots which she said was okay. I had French fries and those were actually decent, right amount of flavor. The popcorn smells great when you hear it popping but sadly when you get it it taste extremely bland, very generic like all the other food we had. I wouldn't be surprised if they went to an ma&pa supermarket and bought very cheap rather than invest in great quality. Potato chips came with my sandwich and those tasted really bad and stale. We barely ate half the food and quickly made our exit. You want a good burger and fries? Then don't come here. $15 for a sandwich and fries and $15 for a sandwich with chips? All tasting so bad? $45 total? Hard pass! You've been warned!

Kelly Kirby: I visited the sister restaurant of Harry's (Harriet's Family Restaurant) on Sunday 8/29/21 and my experience was not a pleasant one. I ordered the Harriet's Famous Breakfast Buffet for $14.95 (even though the menu says $12.95). The eggs had a weird taste and texture to it. The french toast had too much cinnamon in it. The bacon wasn't crispy at all it was on the soggy side. Home fires were overcooked. The creamed chipped beef and biscuits were okay. It was only 2 waitress working that morning both spoke Spanish the entire time (in my opinion can come off as rude). Not once did I get checked on to make sure everything was okay or if I was okay. Didn't get any refills on my water or even asked if I would like more. Extremely dissatisfied with the overall service. Will NOT ever come back and waste my money. If anyone from the restaurant reads this do better on your customer service.

Jon Phillips: Friendly staff, laid back and relaxing feel.. outdoor setting. After long day of sightseeing needed to relax and recharge. Great place for drinks, outdoor sitting and food.

Angela: 1st Time Here Had A BLAST, Good Food, Great Drinks, And The Waitress SHE'S Is Amazing Full Of Life. Will Be Back♥️♥️

Lisa Mcclease-Kelly: Who knew that a little place like this cafe could have such great food! I had the salad with grilled chicken. It was excellent. My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich. We shared a bowl of chili as well. The owner and staff were kind and respectful and gave us unvaccinated guests a warm, covered place to sit outside. Go and support these hard working people. You will be happy you did.

Samantha McLeod: The food was fine. Standard American food and the location and ambiance was good. The prices were quite high for what we got though. I had a very long hair in my food when I received it, so they made me another, which was great. It happens. So whatever. But they also charged us separately for our fries that we were told "came with the meal". Which was kinda sneaky and annoying, especially since the prices were already quite inflated as was. But I guess you live and learn.

Penn Social: what do users think?

Axel Robertson: This place is absolutely amazing. The location is great, the place is massive like an iceberg, upstairs looks big but it's just the tip, downstairs is where the fun is. If you're a sports fan you have 360 degrees of giant screens showing all major professional sports. Staff are amazing. They make you feel at home. I'll be returning. Many times

Aaron-Micheal Blackman: Solid bar, decent food, good staff. Very much enjoyed the music on the lower floor, which has a dance floor and a few nice games. I imagine it can get more lively but it was almost empty at the time. I did enjoy the music selection though.

Black Star Dust: Penn social is a dope spot for watching sports! The downstairs area is filled with projector size screens and the sound system is a close second to being at the game. Great place to go check it you favorite teams and meet up with friends. They have other games to play like corn hole, basketball and giant sized Jenga. Lots of choices on tap and a full bar. Great spot.

Ashten B.: Atmosphere was great, blackberry frozen margarita was 🏾💋. Parking garage is super close. Couple things I wish were better when having tables for a live event would be too have the tables a little more spaced out and have more finger foods on the menu. I'll definitely be back!

Daniel Dias: Cool spot to hang out with friends have a drink and play some games. Staff was cool! Only complaint was online it said they would have the UFC fights on and when we arrived no fights. So had 2 drinks and left.

ThinkPink Cottages: We had a great experience at this place on Sunday. Our bartender Jasmine Was very knowledgeable and attentive we had Prosecco on tab with fresh orange juice pot pie and couple cocktails. This place is a great relaxing for easy beverage.

Natalie Thomas: Drinks are fine although they kept making my friends and I’s orders wrong (I ordered for a whiskey sour, got a gin and tonic, someone asked for a vodka cran, we don’t even know what we got.) The place is huge though and dancing is always fun and they play a variety of music which is nice! Kitchen closed before we got there sadly so don’t know what the food is like

Mayo Tracy: I really like this spot. Great music and the drinks were really good. Staff was friendly and I like the option of being able to purchase seats. Kevin Ross was amazing too.

erica chin: Went to see Kevin Ross at this venue. Show was supposed to start at 8:00 PM and at 8:20 show hadn’t started. The seating chart that was published for the show was different than how the seats were ranged for the show. Everyone was jammed into a small space and people were allowed to stand and block views of people who bought tables. Never coming back here. Horrible, horrible venue.

Jim Dalton: Had pictures of games. Not open unless large event. Happy hour prices are always applied. Wouldn’t come back.
Response: Hi Jim, I'm sorry your visit to Little Penn Coffeehouse didn't meet your expectations. We had to pivot after COVID and we're trying something new! I hope you give us another chance if you are ever in the mood for a craft cocktail, breakfast sandwich or a boozy coffee cocktail. Best,

Kelly's Irish Times: what do users think?

C F: Yum! Food, service and prices are great. It's an older bar with plenty of seating indoors and some seating outdoors too. I tried the chicken tenders, burger, fries and tots. If you like tots, this is your place!! I've also had the fish and chips before and it's good too. Everything comes out fresh and hot!!

brandon cozad: I have attended this pub multiple times since 2006. The food and service is good. Typical Irish fare. The atmosphere during is legendary if you're a police officer and attend during National Police Week, as Kellys' is the go-to location to hangout.

Beth Diaz: Best hang out during police week- get there early if you want a table and expect to be there till closing! Great time.

blessone74: The food was very delicious 😋 I must say.

Lavender Kelley: This bar near Union Station makes for a welcoming place for travelers but it's truly a locals bar at heart. The staff are what make this place great but the beer selection is solid and the food is very good too. Also, you can spend hours looking at all the various law enforcement patches.

Craig Wasielewski: Looks are very deceiving. Inside it's rough around the edges, patrons are regulars and made me feel right at home. Try the shrimp and cod platter deep fried. The tater tots were amazing and you get so many of them. The Caesar salad with grilled chicken was a very nice portion. Drink prices also very reasonable. They do have live music.

Cheap Laugh Kennedy: This has really gone down hill. Went there for the first time after Covid hit and it just wasn't the same. I hope it improves, use to be a great place.

Buster Doney: Good service but the burger and fries leave much to be desired. I ordered my burger medium rare and it came out grey, well done. No flavor whatsoever. And the fries look like sysco fries, nothing like the skin-on potatoes in the photos for this place. Good place to grab a drink though if you're visiting from out of town and going through Union Station.

C B: The staff was very friendly and polite plus the pub food was good and tasty. The wall is decorated with police emblems from across the country and is located within walking distance from the train station. We will return!

Joice Tjen: My favourite food here is the corned beef. It's tender and tasty, served with cabbage, potato and carrot, all are tender and full of flavor. This feels like a very healthy meal!

Doyle: what do users think?

Kathryn Corselius: My friend and I just tried this bar for the first time, and we had a great time! It's beautifully decorated and lots of windows give a great view of Dupont Circle. Service was fast, and the food and cocktails were delicious. Food + drinks are on the pricier side, but the experience was worth the splurge for us.

Taeetheproducer: First, let me start by saying WOW! When I first walked into this place, I felt as if I had stepped on a 70's film set. The decor, the music, the cutlery, AMAZING! Secondly, the service from the moment I walked in made me feel as if I was just going downstairs to my living room with some friends. The staff were all so friendly and professional, but not too uptight as to make you feel uncomfortable. I'm no white-collar professional, so it's good to get a little of both. They were very polite in asking for our vaccination cards, and even made a joke to make the request more fun. Thirdly, the general manager Hicham stopped at my table and checked on me and my guest to ensure we were having a great time. Even when he was running around doing 3 jobs at once, he never made us feel like asking a question would inconvenience him. STELLAR! Finally, my guest (who was my brother) absolutely loves bourbon. So naturally, he ordered a manhattan. His reaction was priceless. He could literally taste every ingredient, equally balanced. Needless to say he ordered a few more. I'm not a big drinker, so I naturally gravitated to the food. Good lord. The quinoa salad with feta and chicken was outstanding. So fresh and so clean! If you've gotten this far, congratulations. PLEASE pay this place a visit.

Brenna Holmes: Nice chill vibe, with a decently curated spirits menu. Wine list leaves something to be desired and the service could have been better. But overall it's always a reliable and relaxing choice to grab a nice drink.

Michael Corey: Nice bar and outdoor patio next to Dupont Circle. Interesting historical lecture series hosted by Prof. Smith & Doyle's.
Response: Thank you for the 5-star review. We're pleased to learn you enjoyed your evening at Doyle. We hope to welcome you again soon. Regards, Julian Enright Senior Bar Manager

Sarah Abay: I have been going to Doyle bar for a quite a while more than 10 years. Very classy and pleasant place. Service is the best but lately I don't know who is in charge the music is so loud and the choice of music is more like a club and doesn't go with the bar style. I have known this place perfect for meeting and working very chill gathering the music is changing the mood.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your recent visit to Doyle. The guest experience is of the utmost importance to us, thus feedback like yours is greatly appreciated as our team strives to deliver a memorable experience. As a valued guest, I would welcome the chance to speak with you further and invite you back to allow us the opportunity to make amends for your recent experience. We hope to see you again soon. Regards, Julian Enright Senior Bar Manager

Justin Leach: The servers were very friendly but 4-5 different people visited my table through the night, I wasn’t sure who my server was and who was just there to refill waters because everyone seemed to be switching roles. Even the host refilled my wine. They weren’t even too busy. I never got my salad, which in my situation was fine because I wasn’t too hungry anyway and really just wanted a couple drinks but normally would not be okay, and when I asked for the desert menu it took 20 minutes because they apparently only had one copy and all the tables were sharing it. Again, very friendly but confusing service. Can’t speak to the food because I never ended up getting mine.
Response: Thank you for sharing feedback on your recent experience at Doyle. While we're pleased to learn you found our staff to be friendly, we are disappointed to learn we felt short on delivering a memorable experience. Please know I have shared your comments with our team to ensure the high service standards we have set for our team are consistently upheld. Should your travels bring you back to Doyle, please let me know so I can personally ensure we have the opportunity to make amends for your recent experience. Alyssa Miller: I usually love the Doyle however - after over a month of not setting foot in the establishment I was charged over $85.00. Let me be clear - I have not lost my card, it has been in my possession the entire time. It has been impossible to get this resolved and incredibly disappointing in that the likely cause of this was a staff member running my card information and pocketing the money. My goal has been reversed and that has been not only incredibly difficult to do - I have been promised call backs from the manager that have never materialized. At this point I don’t see myself ever going back to what was one of my favorite places to enjoy a drink and wonderful atmosphere and I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone because they might be stolen from.
Response: Good Afternoon, Alyssa. We are deeply concerned to learn of this issue. After further review, it appears there was a delay of charge from the credit card processing company from your original visit. A member of our team would like to be in touch to provide additional details surrounding this charge. Please be assured that credit card details are never stored in our systems. When convenient, please send us an email with your contact information so we have the opportunity to make amends for this inconvenience. Regards, Julian Enright Bar Manager Hello@doyle.bar

Lina G: The best spot to kill your vibes. I felt disrespected. My taste buds felt disrespected. The three days old burger buns were offensive to my very culinary enthusiastic existence. The pickle wouldn’t take in the knife or teeth. The cocktail tastes like slushy. The bartender attends to customers not in the order of first come first serve, but in the order of shades - of course white to black. The manager looks like he hit the loto making management in the midst of lack of labor in covid era. If you came in ravenous, you’ll leave mortified or else you’ve simply lost your taste. What a shame it’s in the heart of DC. Sat June 25th, 2022. 11pm
Response: Thank you for your review. We are extremely concerned to learn of your recent experience at Doyle. Hailey Alemán: The food is great, but considering the prices and the automatic 20% gratuity that's added (which is not mentioned on the menu and apparently applies even to parties of 1 or 2), the service needs to be way better. Ordered a glass of wine and finished it, along with my water, before my server ever came back. Someone else's server came back and filled my water glass and brought the check because my original server just walked right by me for literally 40 minutes, and literally never came back to my table despite stopping several times by other tables. Couldn't even catch her eye to get the check. I've worked in food service as well and can't imagine how you justify charging an automatic 20%, a tip for excellent service, when the service is so lacking even when there were two other servers and the place wasn't completely full. Come on guys. Again, the food is great. Maybe the service was terrible because it was an off day. Who knows.

M Whittaker: Fun office happy hour in a perfectly air-conditioned environment! Tasty drinks and snacks for all co-workers!!

Martin's Tavern: what do users think?

Jeannie Hill: We both love historical sites and on multiple occasions have gone to Martin’s Tavern when visiting Washington DC and the Georgetown area. We’ve been privileged to converse with the owner and his daughter to say thanks in person for the food and service. I would guess they do a great job of making each individual dining feel special. The quaint great atmosphere, fantastic food and excellent service add to the fun experience of “stepping back in time”. The individual booths and tables are sufficiently intimate enough for a wonderful dinner and the feel of private conversations. It is remarkable at Christmas time in the midst of festivities; the images attached here are from two years ago. They decorated superbly for the holiday which makes it very homey and celebratory! A lovely mix of people of people groups and whole families dine here. Give yourself enough time to look around and take in dessert, too. The staff was friendly, professional and busy. The menu offers a great selection and everything that we’ve tasted has been enjoyable! Martin’s Irish Coffee, Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas, First Lady Cocktail with a nice raspberry twist, Hot Chocolate, Lobster Risotto, Crab Cakes, Martin’s Shrimp & Gritts, Shepherd’s Pie with Lamb, and Grandma Martin’s Meatloaf are all items that I can recommend. I highly recommend visiting – even during the lunch hour, it may be best to make a reservation as the place is a favorite for locals as well as a destination for out-of-state guests. With its BIG history, it’s rather small in size and tucked on the street corner. It’s not easy to find parking, but definitely worth a good walk.

H D: Delicious turkey dinner with sweet potato purée and green beans. Fair salad and French onion soup. Good service. Decent prices for the portion size. And a very nice, classic atmosphere with interesting history. Does not feel stodgy.

Gerald Brown: We had a proper breakfast here: challah French toast with sausage, bacon, home fries and hot chocolate. Everything was good.

Mica Ann: Make sure to make a reservation as this place gets packed quickly. With its rich history and good food, this is a must visit for every tourist. Like me. There’s no guarantee you will get the historic table you are eyeing. With a reservation, you just might. If there’s a special occasion, include that too in your note. We went for brunch and everything we ordered are good. They offer typical American fair but it’s so tasty. We ordered the corned beef hash and two orders of eggs benedicts (I forgot which one). One order, my mother in law and I split coz we just came from breakfast. lol.

Richard Nelson: I think this place is more of an experience place rather than a enjoy eating place. The seats were kinda uncomfy and wasn't much space on the table. The food was average tasting and pricey for the portion size. I think its just a historic restaurant. We went during the christmas season and they had fancy decorations.

Jacqueline Schillinger: Such a charming spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat! Very delicious onion soup and if you’ve never had a hot brown it’s a great place to try it!

Kyya Bassett: The food was awesome and my new york strip was cooked perfectly! My 'chocolate awesome' dessert hit the spot with my chocolate craving! Definitely a place to experience if you are in the area, but expect to pay a pretty penny when you are there.

chparatrooper88: Famous Martin’s Tavern. Restaurant of choice for President’s and the powerful. Try the espresso martini. Local dark beer is worth a look. Pricey, but, worth a look. No veteran discount…fyi.

Dan Yu: Best brunch restaurant I have been to in a while!! Their french onion soup and shepherds pie are amazing!!! Bread pudding makes me feel like I had an American grandma. 10/10

Melissa H: Reservations are a very good idea and strongly recommended. Rich history. Spies, presidents ,senators and the like have all dined here. Lyndon Johnson had a favorite booth. John and Jackie Kennedy were engaged here. We ordered the chowder n shepherds pie. Delish! 4th generation Martin family owns / operates Martin's.

Exiles Bar: what do users think?

Molly Crabb: Exiles has been the go-to UNC bar during the tournament (and hopefully forever?) and going to all the games has been a BLAST. The waiters were SO accommodating and pushed through a packed room to deliver food with a smile. We had tech issues with the TV and they had multiple people come and try to fix and figured it out quickly! My 64 year old mom even had a good time and said she’d go back.

Shaina Eckles: Great drinks, fantastic atmosphere & super rad bathroom art.
Response: Thanks for the kind words Shaina. We really appreciate it!

Brian Webster: Loved this DC area Buffalonian bar! Exiles is a great location with awesome service, great food, and impressive drink selection. I got the wings (crispy and great) paired with a couple of Labatts, as well as a Catalonian Spritz that was refreshing. This place would be amazing to watch the Bills this fall!
Response: Cheers Brian, fingers crossed for a big year for the Bills

Amit S: The 5th best bar on u street apparently. I still have to find the first four. The whole team is rocking. Good time guaranteed. Love you all!!!

Christopher Williams: A wonderful neighborhood bar. The owners and staff will make you feel at home. Nice outdoor patio with a “hook game.”

Shahnaz Punjani: Nice atmosphere. Friendly with great service. Just what I was looking for. A place to have a drink and chill.
Response: Thank you very much Shahnaz. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Alvin H: Visited this place on the night of my birthday Oct 24. The atmosphere was cool, it was karaoke night so people were having a good time. They had the World Series on multiple flat screens and a projector screen as well. Ordered a burger and fries, and a drink named after Bush's daughter.

kareem shaban: 5 star average! 6 stars for their excellent service, fantastic vibe, outdoor space, great beer, and overall "neighborhood bar" feel! Every bartender is a gem and the owners know their clientele. 4 stars for not discounting their merchandise that says "U Street's 5th Best Bar" now that they are U Streets 3rd best bar.
Response: Kareem thank you for your comments. We are honored to welcome you and your sparkly jackets every single time. We believe in staying humble by being humble, though its sometimes difficult for us. We are working on new t-shirts, watch this space!

Alain Parcan: As a sworn Stetsonite, I never wanted to admit I liked exiles as much as I did but if it isn’t one of the best bars in dc to get a beer and decent bar food, I dunno what is

Toby Willse: Awesome bar! Great beer selection, fun vibes, chill employees. Will be going back whenever I'm in the area.
Response: Thank you for the kind words Toby. Come back and see us next time.

ChurchKey: what do users think?

C Yager: Great craft beer bar, knowledgeable bar staff, 50 beers on tap, wish they had less national/big craft beers on tap and more local. Extensive beer bottle list with hard to find beers, especially good Belgium beer selection. Fast friendly service, hard to notice from the street. Definitely recommend a visit if you love beer.

Jonathan Isett: Top notch selection of craft beers in DC. Also one of the most extensive whiskey/ bourbon catalogs around. Atmosphere is good, and the food comes through. The homemade tots are a must have. Great location on 14th st close to Logan circle. Stop and have a beer or two.

Rossukon Jandech: Beer Brunch Event on June 25th, 2022Great event, great employee, great service.Meet famous brewers there as well, so awesome.

Jeremy Krantz: During a week-long trip in DC, I spent most, if not all of my evenings at ChurchKey. As a craft beer aficionado, this is pretty much a mecca when it comes to beer and their selection is hard to match. You may wonder what's so special about this place and let me tell you straight up that it is their beer. There's little point is coming for wine, or cocktails (although they're not bad at all!) but really what sticks out is their craft beer. They have 50 taps and 500+ of bottles available as well as 5 rotating casks. It's hard to beat. My wife and I got to know the staff really well after a few trips there and they were all super friendly, knowledgeable and they made our experiences there very memorable. I cannot wait to return for many more trips when in town. One pro tip I recommend to everyone is to ask for their master beer list known as "The Bible" which is frequently updated and will allow you to figure out what's available since their selection is so extensive.

Taylor Friedman: I love churchkey but the service here needs improvement. I’ve been twice since they reopened with the latest being a Saturday night around 11:30. Busy but not crazy. Was able to find a seat at the bar. After I sat down it took at least 5 minutes just to get a bartender to acknowledge me. Was handed food and drink menus. After that probably another 5 minutes to get my order in. I thought it was weird that the bartender didn’t provide water when I sat down. I feel that it’s customary to do so at a bar as so not to make people drunk quickly. After I ordered my second drink I placed an order for food as well and was told the kitchen closed at midnight. That would have been helpful to know as I got there at almost quarter til so that was annoying. Shortly before I left there was also a guy at the bar who was passed out and one of the bartenders slammed a bottle really hard on the counter to wake him up and I thought that was kind of unnecessary. All in all, definitely a craft beer Mecca but just keep in mind service can be kinda spotty. (P.S.- they made the place brighter after they reopened so you can actually see going up that long flight of stairs and the menu once you’re inside!)

Levi Wasmundt: It's easy to get overwhelmed by the vast selection of beers on tap, but their menu organizes them well and the bartenders are very helpful in pointing you in the right direction. Ours also offered us samples before we ordered full pours. Good job ChurchKey. Cheers!

Tom W: Great list of beers. Nothing I was too interested in and I love me some craft beers. But that’s not their fault, that’s my palate. The issue was the service being absolute trash when the bar wasn’t even busy and they had ample staff. Drinks took about a half hour to come out so we ended it early and just left.
Response: Hello Tom, I am very sorry to hear about your experience. Thank you for your feed back. We appreciate any kind of feed back that can help us improve. I would love to hear more about your time here. If you would be able to email me at dpitcher@neighborhoodrestaurantgroup.com. Best regards, Dylan

Joe Perretta: Unfortunately, churchkey is the best beer bar for 100 miles. The beer is exceptional and it has reopened without missing a beat in terms of selection. The service is some of the worst for 1000 miles. And let's not blame a worker shortage, it's bad training. Nobody really knows the bottle list, most servers don't know an ale from a lager. I'm glad I had my wine key on me after my own bartending shift elsewhere because my server, who was very kind and affable, couldn't open the bottle I ordered. One of the worst staff training programs in town. I also had to convince another server that I didn't want a taster or full pour, because I had ordered a bottle. Fortunately, the clientele is, mostly, as ambivalent as management so there's no real impact to any of this. But it's just the most amateurish beer institution on the east coast. I'll continue to begrudgingly give NRG my money, but man oh man does it make you hateful to have to open your own bottles after a long shift. I really so hate churchkey.

A small cat (cat): We sat upstairs and it had a better vibe. It does have the same menu as downstairs. There were regular booths, high booths, and bar, tables. Good water. Nice decor. Great atmosphere. We ordered the tator tots - good flavor, wish more crispy on the outside like a thicker layer of it, more like mashed potato inside, salty but not too salty. The chicken and waffles were good but not my favorite. They probably just weren't my flavor profile I like. My husband loved them. The music was loud but not too loud. There were TV's at the bar. A great place to go hang out and have some grub.

Robert Last: Loved this place. Lot's of good beers. Great bartenders and service. I didn't get to try the food this trip.

Board Room: what do users think?

Emilie Buck: This was such a great find! My girlfriend and I were walking around DuPont Circle and stepped in to Board Room. There are two floors inside with ample seating. They don't serve food, but they have a discount with the pizza company nearby or you can bring in food from outside. There were a bunch of games to choose from, covering all genres, amount of players, and skill level. The bar also seemed well stocked, and the bartender on duty seemed nice. I'd definitely go again.

Abdul Kader Surti: I absolutely love board games and this place has an amazing collection of games. The drinks are great and they make a mean spiked hot cocoa! I wish there were some snacks to munch on, other great place to hang with friends

Ciara B: Margarita pizza was disgusting. Came out lukewarm (barely that). No taste and just a real disappointment. Do not order. Atmosphere is nice and they have a large selection of board games

Samantha: So much fun to grab a few friends and shake off the workday here. Their happy hour deals are insanely good, especially for DC. $4 rail drinks & $4 drafts. Games are free to rent during happy hour, too! Loved the bartender.

Kyle Goodman: An amazing place to hang out! Board game selection is excellent, drinks are tasty and the atmosphere is just what you're looking for. We have visited DC twice in the last couple months and this has become our go to spot. You know you're in the right place when they play Jeopardy! on the TV.

Helen Michie: Attractively decorated Dupont Circle bar and young adult hang out spot in a very trendy DC neighborhood. Great place to have a party. Has unisex bathrooms.

Jeff Corcelius: Good drinks, awesome courteous staff! Go play, drink, and have fun!

Cimmanon K: Went here right after going to a sushi bar, and boy did it scratch the right itch for game night lol. I wasnt told about this place, as bringing me there was a surprise, but the miniature golf, the drinks, and the company were all wonderful. Great staff there too!

Andriana Genualdi: Great bar for chill hanging out with friends. I went there recently in the late afternoon to play some board games with a couple of friends and we had a great time. We ended up sitting at the small round high top tables that’re near the bar, there was enough room for card games and battleship but I suggest if you have more than 2 people you pick a larger table so you don’t have to worry about losing pieces onto the floor. My friends seemed to enjoy the beer selection and I opted for a glass of house wine on happy hour

Lucius Domitius Aurelianus (Augustus): Good selection of drinks and games to play, its also possibleto hear each other in most parts of the time. Only problem you'll run into is the lack of seating!
