Hospitality & Tourism Law Program at American University Washington College of Law: what do users think?
Rachel Dodd
Rachel Dodd: The Hospitality & Tourism Law Program at WCL is truly one of a kind! I participated during Summer 2018 and so happy I decided to take part. There was a great mix between lectures and practical exercises! Not to mention, Professor Shapiro brings in people who are working in various facets of the hospitality and tourism field to come and teach! There also was the opportunity to go on site visits to different places around D.C., which was really cool! Overall fantastic experience and would recommend to any student who has the slightest interest in learning more about this field of law.
Response: Rachel. It has been a pleasure for us to work with you and we are looking forward to watching your career path. There are many us waiting to help, if ever needed.
Matthew Mason
Matthew Mason: The Hospitality & Tourism Law Program at American University was my favorite set of classes during law school. During the day, students are able to learn about contract drafting, hotel management agreements, and franchise disclosure documents. Furthermore, students are taught by professionals in various hospitality fields including big law firms, corporate counsel, and ownership groups. In the evening, students are able to tour various hotels, casinos, and other hospitality venues around the DC Metro area. These experiences allow students to see how to draft a hotel agreement and what that agreement eventually turns into. In conclusion, I highly recommending taking these classes if you have an interest in hospitality, transactional work, networking with hospitality professionals, or just want an exciting class experience.

Yuliya Brel-Fournier: I participated in the Grant Proposal Writing Workshop at BAU International University in November 2018. I am very grateful for this wonderful opportunity to learn from the experts in the field how to write successful grant proposals to secure external funding for various purposes. The ability to write such proposals is an important skill required by Universities, NGOs, and other organizations. That is why I was so excited to participate in the workshop. I can say that it was worth every single minute of it. I really enjoyed the professionalism of the presenters, the warm and friendly atmosphere of the BAU University, the perfect organization of the event, and how informative and useful the workshop turned out to be. Thank you once again to the organizers. I would highly recommend this workshop to everyone interested in acquiring this important skill.

University of the District of Columbia Community College (UDC-CC): what do users think?
Henok D
Henok D: The most terrible school I have ever been to. Both the main campus and the Community college are the same. A lot of slow, unprofessional, and rude staff who keep yelling at students when they are not even doing their jobs properly. I submitted a certain paper to the Financial Aid office and they told me they lost the paper after weeks that I had to pay about $1700 out of pocket. During the 2020 Pandemic, I tried to contact them as I was having difficulty to waive the Student Insurance that is provided through the school because I already had an insurance coverage; no one answered my call until it was due. And now Miss Gaskon told me that I have to pay about $1300 for the coverage I never needed. Mis Gascon was there in 2018/19 when I had the same issue; she helped me waive it then. I could not go to her office in 2020 be a of Covid restrictions. I tried to solve the issue communicating with them but nothing got better yet. I would not recommend anyone to go the UDC unless one needs a headache. I cannot deny that there are some great Professors such as Prof. Sonnie Abebaku. However, individuals are very helpful to us, it’s overall experience at the university that makes a difference in our academic lives. So far, my overall experience is just TERRIBLE!
Yesly Turcios
Yesly Turcios: GLEN DOMINA rudest person ever if you are working under a facility and a Student is inquiring on information/assistance you should be able to provide that at your upmost ability but unfortunately that was not the case here..
Danny Hirschfield
Danny Hirschfield: I graduated UDC-CC with an AA degree in Liberal Studies Fall Class of 2015 Alumnus. This college really helped me develop my learning skills as I am an older non-traditional student that started as a freshman with very little prior knowledge and discipline in academia. I have transitioned to the UDC flagship campus pursuing my BA degree in Political Science as a pre-law student. This university is the most affordable place to get a good quality education being the only public higher learning institution in Washington, D.C.
Jamilya Allen
Jamilya Allen: Okay So I applied about 3weeks to a month ago and I’ve yet to receive any papers informing me if I was missing any documents or etc. I’ve called at least 5 times a day for about two weeks straight leaving voicemail after voicemail and no one has yet to return my call not only did I call multiple times I have also emailed them multiple and no response. It’s ridiculous what’s the point of having an admissions office if they not even going to pick up the phone, guide you in the process of being admitted or anything else like you guys get paid to do nothing it’s sad.
h T
h T: This University has only good professors! But getting a Bachelor from the UDC will not get you a job!! Their jobs faire is just to get a website from the companies and brochures lol!
Jordan Stewart
Jordan Stewart: The financial aid lady with gray hair and dreads is disrespectful af. Most of the staff here are disorganized and rude. I disenrolled 2 months ago. When I went to disenroll the lady was eating crab legs in front of me. Come to find out she never really disenrolled me, and I had to go back up there today. Smh. I really wanted this to work bc I’m a Dc Resident but I’m enrolling at PGCC.

Hemant Gaule
Hemant Gaule: Great institution, excellent faculty and resources available to students. A lot of impressive events and conferences are hosted at the institute.
Amy Friedlander
Amy Friedlander: Like many others have said, the support staff, to include the Deans Office, is absolutely awful. Unhelpful, discourteous, unprofessional. I expected so much more from this institution, but the SCS is a disappointment and can only be described as a mediocre school at best.
Karina Valverde
Karina Valverde: I love being a student on campus again. In pursuit of my masters in Public Relations and Corporate Communications. This campus is for the grad school and certificate programs. The culture is professional, high caliber students.
Patrick Revord
Patrick Revord: Convenient location, beautiful building, great instruction and great classmates. Georgetown runs a class act, even away from its main campus.
Monica Puerto
Monica Puerto: I enrolled into the Data Science Certificate Program at Georgetown. It is a waste of money and your time unless you have a robust background in Python. Most students did not because this certificate program appears to help you turn into one. I have background in SQL and data analytics and was hoping to gather some skills to make me a data scientist. Although I understand that a certificate program can’t turn you into one (although the marketing and messaging of this makes it appear so with the “robust” curriculum). This was purely taught on slides and wish it was more hands on. It is very expensive and you don’t start learning till the 3rd class. The first class was an introduction on what is data science (around $900) for some powerpoint you could have read at home. Second class was to get into groups to create a data product on a process that you barely know about. I recommend General Assembly they are more hands on. Although they don’t have the prestigious name (which I think Georgetown takes advantage of to teach this way), you will learn more and actually do projects AFTER you learn the material. I thankfully dropped out and sadly was only refunded the classes I did not take although intro to data science and getting into groups does not feel like real classes..
Response: Dear Monica—Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding Georgetown SCS’s Data Science Certificate program. We’re sorry to hear that the program did not meet your expectations. We've received your feedback on the course and have worked to integrate improvements, including communicating the Python expectation and resources available to students. We invite you to speak further about your experience by contacting a staff member of the Center for Continuing and Professional Education by email at ccpeprograms@georgetown.edu or by calling 202-687-8128. The U.S. Capitol Visitor Center: what do users think?
TexCat
TexCat: Thoroughly enjoyed our impromptu visit here. It’s only just reopened fully to the public since the pandemic apparently. We got there and learned that you could scan a code there and get an online reservation if there were any available. We got lucky and got in immediately! Wonderful tour. Our guide was great. She kept it interesting and informative. So glad we came. One of the highlights of our DC trip.
Ashok Patel
Ashok Patel: The Capitol Visitor Center is not accepting tour reservations at this time. The Visitor Center is supposed to provide a welcoming and educational environment for visitors to learn about the unique characteristics of the House, the Senate and the legislative process as well as the history and development of the architecture and art of the US Capitol. Unfortunately, the Capitol Visitor Center is closed since last two years due to pandemic. This is going to reopen tentatively from May 30, 2022 to limited numbers of visitors. However, we visited the US Capitol Grounds which is the 58 acre very well maintained park immediately surrounding the US Capitol building. The green lush park-like setting looks beautiful against the Capitol building and National Mall. The grounds is bordered by stone wall. Different types of trees and bushes are grown in the grounds with curved walkways. Many trees on the Capitol grounds have memorial associations. Leisurely walk around the world power center to explore the beauty of the Capitol building is great experience. The entry to the Capitol building is closed for the general public but walking up to the steps of this symbolically most important and impressive public building of United States and the world is great opportunity. After six months of enhanced security measures, finally the fence is down and people can now visit the Capitol grounds.
Ivana Purić
Ivana Purić: Wanted to finally visit US Capitol inside , but unfortunately it’s closed because of pandemic and they didn’t upload this details on Google Maps . It was good weather , so we just walked around .
Greg Davis
Greg Davis: Book in advance but on the quiet days you can turn up without a reservation and walk straight on to a tour as we did on a Friday. It’s worth doing. The rotunda is fantastic. For international visitors it’s easy enough to get to see the extras (house of senate and House of Representatives) - just give your photo ID to the appointment desk. But note that no cameras are allowed in either of those last two places and it has it own security.
Mark Thornton
Mark Thornton: Pretty cool place. Beautiful architects as with all DC buildings, not too busy —though through the week. Very structured and organized for visitors. Restaurant onsite. Gets very busy bus is organized and structured well. The food isn’t that great, but has a good variety.
Chris Shearer
Chris Shearer: Super organized tour. Got right in to the initial auditorium to watch the starter film. Gave good info and a good overview. Lady herding us in needed to calm down a little. Liked that even though there were a huge number of people, our individual tour guide kept us engaged.
