MedStar Health: Physical Therapy at Lafayette Centre: what do users think?

diaa noureldin: The PT team at Lafayette Centre is simply great. They are professional, well-organized and quite experienced with sports-related injuries. In 3-4 weeks (6-8 sessions) coupled with simple home exercises, I was already seeing an improvement. The team is also quite pleasant to work with and the facility is well-equipped and super clean. I worked mostly with Yvonne and Ryan, and they are really amazing.
Response: Thank you so much, Diaa. We appreciate your kind words and will surely share them with the team, including Yvonne and Ryan. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health!

Sara Bonner: Highly recommend! I've been seeing Brian Colella on and off for a year now and he has been tremendously helpful with my knee pain. He has put together a program of exercises that are challenging and totally tailored to my needs. And he always finds a way to transition each exercise into something I can do at home, too. He's extremely responsive and flexible with appointment times, and moreover, he's super fun to work with. I always look forward to our sessions, it's a great workout and we always have a lot of laughs as we go. Thanks for everything, Brian!
Response: Sara, we are delighted to hear that your pain has improved and that you look forward to your sessions with Brian. It's our pleasure to all we can to set you up for success in achieving your physical therapy goals. Keep up the amazing work!

Collin Church: Highly recommend the physical therapy team. I saw Gregory Lloyd after having injured my groin which prevented me from being able to workout. After 1 month of doing the recommended exercises, I made progress much quicker than I had anticipated and am already back to working out again. Great experience and Greg was very helpful and pleasant to work with.
Response: Thank you for your 5-star review, Collin! We are thrilled to hear that you had a great experience with us thanks to your physical therapist! We will surely share your kind words with our team so that he can be recognized for his great work. It’s our pleasure to support you and set you up for success as you work towards your physical therapy goals. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. Keep up the awesome work!

Kelly Buckley: MedStar Lafayette Physical Therapy is 10/10! Bryn and team are the most attentive, detail-oriented, friendly, empathetic group of PTs that I've ever met. I cannot recommend this department enough. If it weren't for Bryn, my injury could have been a lot worse. The front desk staff also is incredibly kind and friendly. You are in good hands at MedStar Lafayette Physical Therapy from the moment you walk in the door!
Response: Kelly, thank you for sharing your compliments. We are so happy to hear that we earned five stars thanks to Bryn and the team. We will surely share your kind words with everyone. It was our pleasure to help set you up for success during your therapy sessions. We wish you the best!

May Ng: I had a great experience with PT here after breaking my ankle. Thomas was my main therapist but I also worked with Chris and Bryn, All of them were just terrific--super effective and got me walking (soon running) again in no time. Front desk staff were also lovely and helpful with scheduling.
Response: Thank you, May. We're happy to hear that you had a great experience with Thomas, Chris, Bryn, and the rest of our team. We will surely share your kind words with them It's our pleasure to help you reach your physical therapy goals after breaking your ankle. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health!

Monica Coleman: Greg Lloyd PT, OPT, SCS is awesome! When I first started in the program, I wasn't sure anything could be done. I have serious osteoporosis in my hip and lumber spin, as well as spinal stenosis. It was very debilitating. Yet, within the first lesson, I could feel the difference. It was amazing. As I continue with the treatments and exercises, I grow stronger every day. He even helped me with a dizziness problem that I've had for a long time. Greg is extremely knowledgeable and finds solutions that help the healing process for his clients. More importantly, he is a compassionate and caring coach. He has a knack for encouraging his clients in a way that motivates us to excel in the therapy sessions. I am so grateful for his efforts. It has certainly made my life a lot better. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for an outstanding physical therapist. Monica Coleman, JD
Response: Monica, thank you for you kind words. Reading this review really made our day! We're delighted to hear that you had a positive experience with us thanks to Greg. We will surely share your compliments with him so that he can be recognized for his outstanding work. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. We wish you the best!

Peter R Edelen: The physical therapy I am receiving at MedStar's Lafayette Center in Washington, DC, is excellent. The facility is spacious, clean, and well ventilated; equipped with the latest exercising machinery; and serviced by a very courteous and competent staff. The individual therapists are well-trained in their fields of expertise and deserve a great deal of credit for the quality of the facility.
Response: Peter, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It's great to hear that you had a 5-star experience with us thanks to our facility and team. Thank you for choosing us for your physical therapy. Keep up the great work!

Ann Bourke: My therapist Sheri Zhang made a real and lasting difference to my arthritic hands at the OC/PT at Lafayette MedStar physical therapy Center. I was very happy with her professional and practical approach. Sheri introduced me to techniques, adaptive devices and personal braces to reduce my pain levels and improve my quality of life. I have since been able to resume and enjoy various hobbies, art and crafts as well as cookery.
Response: Ann, this is wonderful news! We are so glad to hear that you are able to enjoy your hobbies again! It has been our pleasure to do all we can to set you up for success in reaching your physical therapy goals. Sheri is wonderful! We will surely share your kind words with her. Daniel Gerzon: A truly rewarding experience. The 5 sessions I had were with Greg Lloyd, PT, DPT who provided pertinent exercises to remedy the physiological challenges I experienced and also shared his innate knowledge of the body with a calm and pleasant dedication to my continued benefit. Altogether, my impression of the front desk personnel, Ms. Jabre and colleagues, as well as the entire training staff is that of professionalism and commitment to client satisfaction via teamwork.
Response: Thank you, Daniel! We're incredibly happy to hear that you had a 5-star experience with us thanks to Greg, Ms. Jabre, and the rest of our team here at MedStar Health Physical Therapy at Lafayette Centre. It's our pleasure to do all we can to set you up for success during your therapy sessions. Keep up the great work!

The Viva Center: what do users think?

Laura Silverman: I'm beyond impressed with The Viva Center's commitment to body and brain-based therapies to address trauma and other behavioral health concerns. Founder Dr. Julie Lopez is a true delight and her staff is competent, compassionate, and truly invested in the holistic health of the DC-area community. I feel lucky to know Julie and work with her on projects in my professional and personal life. The Viva Center's Holistic Professional's Group is not to be missed!
Response: Thank you! We feel immensely lucky to work with you and the Sobriety Collective on so many wellness initiatives.

Kelly Fleming: As a sole proprietor occupational therapist (OT) running a fly-in/fly-out practice each month, I was in need of space to rent to see my clients. The Viva Center offered me the perfect solution! It is centrally located, close to the Metro, and most importantly offers a wonderful environment to work. I have flexibility with my schedule and am able to accommodate off-hours and weekend appointments for my clients easily. It is a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for everyone and I feel very strongly that the work all Viva clinicians are doing in the community is changing lives for the better. I highly recommend independent and private holistic practitioners consider the Viva Center for clinic space as well as a referral source for all mental health and wellness needs!
Response: We love having you as a part of our community. It's wonderful to see that our space has been supportive and accommodating for you.

Meg Richichi: As an Integrative Women’s Health Practitioner & Acupuncturist it was important for me to find a space that embraces a nurturing environment for clients and well as myself. Working out of The Viva Center and being part of a healing community of amazing therapists that truly care about their clients-- offering more than traditional "talk therapy". It’s a collective of professional clinicians, committed to authentic healing- mind, body, spirit and heart-core.
Response: Thank you for your kind words. We are committed to building strong healing community full of wonderful practitioners like yourself.

Dr. Michael Radkowsky, Licensed Psychologist: I've known Dr. Julie Lopez (founder of the Viva Center) as a colleague for almost 20 years. I've always been impressed by her warmth, caring, thoughtfulness, professional wisdom, and desire to give back to the community. The Viva Center is a manifestation of these traits, offering a wide range of healing modalities. I am also impressed by the enthusiastic dedication of Center staff whom I've met to provide the best possible individualized treatment to their clients.
Response: Thank you for your kind review! We really appreciate your feedback.

Annie Miao: I've attended a few of their events and found them not only to be informative, but also inspirational and eye-opening. Their speakers have always been wonderful, whether it's full of panelists from different backgrounds or Dr. Julie herself. Dr. Julie is clearly an expert in her field and is very knowledgeable with mental health issues. Additionally, the events have also been a great way to gather resources, ways to seek help for yourself or loved ones, and to meet and network with others who are either interested in the topic or work as professionals in the field. I've really enjoyed each event so far and look forward to attending more in the future!
Response: Thank you for your feedback! We're so happy you've enjoyed our events.

Danielle Tiley: I attended a training today with Dr. Julie Lopez and it was super informative, engaging and inspiring. I will definitely put the knowledge about implicit memory and resiliency that I gained today into use in my practice.

G. Reviewer: These people are psychologically and financially exploitative hucksters. Ms. Staggs has a history of manipulative conflicts with clients and the owner, Julie, seems to have no moral compass whatsoever. I am reviewing anonymously because I don't feel comfortable exacerbating conflict in my life but wish to warn others to steer clear. Don't be taken in my their seductive marketing materials and "approach". At least not if you have any serious problems to which you seek solutions. The place ought to be shut down, and I hope it is.

Maps Reviewer: Unscrupulous and exploitative, these people don't care about your best interests but money.

Erin Henley: I went to a training by Dr. Lopez, and it was amazing. I learned a lot and it was entertaining, like maybe the next Brene Brown. I am inspired to leave and use the tools I learned.

Nicholle Clinton: Love this place! Great pricing! Great service! I came for one thing, followed recommendations for other services and I keep coming back! Return customer for life!
Response: Thank you for your kind review! We're so happy that our services have been a good fit for you.

Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington: what do users think?

Virginia Runko: As a psychologist, I always refer to BTC for anyone suffering from OCD (although I'm sure they're skilled in treating other disorders). They are highly specialized and trained in OCD. I even took a multi-week OCD training here with their clinicians which made me appreciate their expertise all the more. The BTC clinicians I had met, including Dr. Mansueto and Dr. Weintraub, were all wonderful in terms of interpersonal skills - warm, good listeners, etc. I believe they have ongoing group meetings to consult with each other on various cases which I think is great for patient care. I often rave about them to my clients and figured it was high time I rave about them publicly to anyone who might find this helpful!
Response: Thanks for your kind feedback, Dr. Runko. It was our pleasure meeting you and having you join our meetings.

Malik Saab: I don't know a better place for treating OCD patients in the DC Metropolitan area and I have done research on this! They use ERP very effectively, which is the only proven therapy method that works for OCD I believe.

James Long: I really appreciate BTC. They are very thorough and care about the people they work with. Very high regards.
Response: Thanks for your feedback. We place a strong emphasis on providing a quality experience and that our clients feel valued and cared for.

Andrew Stobie: This is a great therapy place but the office itself is not great.Update: I felt I should update this. The physical offices did improve over the time that I was visiting there!
Response: Thank you for this valuable feedback. While we are continuing to conduct therapy services through telehealth during the pandemic, we are working on continuing to improve the aesthetics of our physical space for when we return to the office.

Elite Physical Therapy & Wellness Center: what do users think?

Jamie Kaplan: Terry is a fantastic physical therapist and one of the best in the area. She works closely with their patients and knows the DC medical community well. The one down side to being one of her patients is that wait times can be long when transitioning from working with a tech on exercises to seeing Terry in a room. Hopefully the practice can address this so that things are a bit more efficient, but again Terry is a great PT.

Jenna Pekofsky: Terry and the whole team at Elite Physical Therapy and Wellness give therapy and healthcare a good name. They all pay attention to each patient thoroughly, are incredibly knowledgeable, and committed to using many tools, methods, and modalities to give you the care you need. They take the time with manual therapy and develop excellent home exercise programs to speed up recovery and find balance in the body. For something as disheartening as having chronic hip pain form an injury, being there makes me feel better every time- it’s just good place to be. I have been to other PT clinics, and they just aren’t as invested and hands-on as they are at Elite. I’m grateful to have found them for my care and recovery!

The Ross Center: what do users think?

lorie d: The Ross Center's Medical Director, Dr. Beth Salcedo is amazing! She is kind, compassionate, and takes time to understand the needs of her patients. She takes a holistic approach to treating anxiety which I have really appreciated. I highly recommend her!
Response: Thank you for your kind words!

Robert Scott: How can you get good adolescent care virtually when everyone can go to the movies, hair salons and all the other activities, but a simple in- person program or seeing a psychologist is off limits because of the excuse of a pandemic. Is the psychologist and therapist too good to not meet in-person when all of us are working back at work? We all need to be loud and tell our mental health professionals that we are not going to take virtual as an option anymore. This company just cares for the ole mighty dollar and they think that they can give adolescent mental health effectively virtually as our children keep falling apart. This is ridiculous and unprofessional.
Response: We are working on our reopening plan, being mindful of the various health needs and concerns of our staff while also following the guidance of our regulatory organizations such as APA. We hope to be able to offer in person treatment very soon.

Brianna Scott: Yikes! Leaving my review with the same thing I said in my e-mail: "Good afternoon, I just called the Ross Center and not sure who I spoke to but...it's clear that you all as a company do not want to help people. I called simply stating that I received a voicemail over the weekend, I was inquiring about being a new patient for medication management, and was just met with..."okay." I tried to give the person the benefit of the doubt but they clearly had an attitude. This is my first impression of this company so...despite the fact that maybe the doctors who work here might be good...I don't really want to deal with receptionists who are annoyed at the fact that their literal job is to get new patients signed up. It's already super hard to get mental health help, and it's also a lot to build up the courage to ask in the first place. Does this matter to any of you all? No. But, you all should be wise to train folks answering the phones to just treat people with respect. If the person was confused by what I was asking, they could have simply just said, "Yeah, we can help with that. Who exactly left you a voicemail over the weekend?" It's really that simple. Thank you and have a great rest of your week." It's probably going to be quite rough finding anyone in the city to help with medication management. But I'd kind of rather go without medication at all than being treated shittily by literally anyone in the healthcare system.
Response: This is certainly not the experience we want you to have, and not what we expect of our administrative staff. We apologize that you were treated this way. We will investigate this and deal with it immediately. If you have not yet been able to get an appointment with a different psychiatrist, feel free to leave a message for our medical director at 202-363-1010 x 114 and she will make sure your inquiry gets handled immediately and comfortably for you.

Rachel Wise: When my teenage daughter was experiencing some anxiety, I called the Ross Center and she was scheduled the next day for an evaluation. The entire process was smooth and efficient. The professionals on staff worked with us to figure out the best treatment options. My daughter had an extremely positive experience at The Ross Center. I highly recommend the Ross Center.

N A: I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Melissa Monson. She is extremely reliable and is the only psychiatrist I have ever felt like I got very comprehensive care from consistently. Ross Center is very expensive. I have been a patient off and on for many years, but I have never felt like I didn't get what I paid for here.

Sheryl Aaron: I've had the pleasure of collaborating with a number of therapists and psychiatrists at The Ross Center, and I have the utmost respect for their team. When referring clients to this practice, I know they'll get some of the most consistently skilled and compassionate treatment available in the D.C. area.

Jill Jacobs: Unprofessional, discriminatory, argumentative, and poorly informed. I tried to make an appointment here, and made it very clear that I am willing to pay cash -not use insurance at all - but was told that because my insurance is Tricare, they will not see me. Repeatedly I explained that I have no intention of using insurance nor filing with insurance after the fact, I simply want to get therapy and pay for it myself. In fact, I explained I would be willing to sign a document to that effect or write a letter and have it notarized declaring this. Regardless, I was told that they will NOT see any person who has Tricare, Medicaid, or Medicare, period... This place does not file or accept any kind of insurance at all; they only accept out of pocket payments. Yet they will not take my money, will not even tell me their fees because... Why...? I happen to have a past association association with the military...? This is not only discriminatory, but bad business practice, in general. I would give zero stars if I could.

Kiki Boots: Honestly feels like a scam. Our family has dealt with many, many clinicians over the years and this is the first time that, on intake, they told us there wouldn't be a good fit and to go elsewhere. And this is for pretty run-of-the-mill needs. I would avoid, unless you want to be charged hundreds of dollars for nothing.
Response: Hi there- We would be happy to discuss this with you and see if we can work something out. That does not sound right, and is not typically how we operate. Please give our medical director, Dr. Salcedo, a call at 202-363-1010 x 114 so you can set up a time to talk about this and we can make this right. Thank you.

Brad Brenner, Ph.D.: I've known Dr. Beth Salcedo for years and she's a warm, thoughtful expert. She and her colleauges at the Ross Center are some of best in the Washington DC.

Laura Webb: The Ross Center has been an extraordinary resource for me. Because of them, I’ve found exactly the right treatment to manage my anxiety, and I’m so grateful.

Washington Wellness Physical Therapy and SportsCare, LLC: what do users think?

Stephanie Sneary: Always excellent care! Washington Wellness therapists have assisted me with recovery from surgeries multiple times since 2012 and they are always my preference for PT care.

Eric Clopper: As someone who has seen many physical therapists for injuries/surgeries in the past, I can say with absolute confidence that Kelly is one of the best!! Dr. Kelly Leininger (the owner) helped me make a full recovery from two major shoulder surgeries over the past year. She understands where her patients are, where they're looking to go, and she couples that with an unparalleled understanding of the human body and how it recovers. Highly recommend Washington Wellness, Kelly, her team, and the facility -- always clean, safe, and on time as well (as a bonus!).

Dana swendsen: There great I called as a new patient and they were able to get me in the same day. My Physical Therapist Kristi is great she is very caring and I trust her with my knee. The whole staff is always pleasant.

Peter Sexton: Washington Wellness has been great for my rehabilitation! Kristi has been great, and makes sure to put together a plan with your specific goals in mind. I would first recommend not getting injured, but if that fails I would definitely recommend Washington Wellness

James Peranteau: Great physical therapy, I have been very happy with the quality, structure, and service of the physical therapists. On the administrative side, however, I have been disappointed. Washington Wellness directly charged me for my physical therapy sessions, rather than charging my insurance provider. In the process, Washington Wellness overcharged me a couple of hundred dollars. The staff have acknowledged this, but it has been nearly four months since my last physical therapy, and I still have not received a refund. My emails often go unanswered, and the staff typically deflect my calls. This is unfortunate, because the actual physical therapy is quite good.

Stoyan Dimitrov: The whole team is engaged from the minute you walk in the door. Front desk is polite, helpful and extremely nice. Appointments are scheduled easily, reminders are set and send, so you have one less thing to worry about. Everything is well explained and communicated from the beginning. Best place for physical therapy ever. Here, you can find professional therapists and friendly staff. And what is also important - team members fit your needs and accommodate your situation. Keep up the good work!

Vishal Batra: Jennifer, Kelly and their team are very knowledgeable, and have been great in getting me on the right track for my acl recovery. They've been really attentive towards my therapy. She's my second therapist as I'm 8 months post op, and wish I'd gone to them first. The whole team their is cool.

Charles and Suzanne Carrigan: Kelly Leninger at Washington Wellness knows her business when it comes to helping people with musculoskeletal issues. Charles's knee pain on stairs has been significantly reduced as a result of the care she has provided. She also identified and is working on other issues that affect normal, every-day mobility. We recommend her highly.

Catherine Roth: I thought my physical therapist was friendly and knowledgable. The structure for care at this office did not resonate well with me. After the first intake evaluation, you work with a PT for about 20 - 30 minutes each session, and then do exercises on your own or with the instruction of an aide. However, during my time with the PT, she was often slightly distracted with the client she had seen before me that was now on to doing exercises. The PT has to tell the aide very quickly what exercises to do with you that day, while her next client is already waiting. The aide often needed more guidance, so the PT would pipe in sometimes to tell the aide what to do next or how to do something. The PT aide also didn't really give much feedback while I was doing exercises - like whether I was doing it right or wrong, what I should be feeling etc. The effect being that it seemed like no one was able to fully concentrate on one client at a time. This structure might work for lots of people, but it didn't work for me.

Amal Disparte: Second time I've gone-first time for broken femur after car accident-this time for nerve damage in my hand. Can't recommend them enough-especially owner, Kelly. Staff is thoughtful and empathetic and come with a plan that really works! Highly recommend.!

Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation: what do users think?

Meredith McGoings: I came to Lucia at Star Rehabitation and Spirts in January with excruciating left knee pain. She messaged and gave me exercises to do daily. My ability to walk without pain improved quite a bit. Now I am pain free and walking without a cane. I highly recommend Lucia Lee as a very knowledgeable physical therapist.Meredith M.
Response: We really appreciate your vocal support in so many ways. Thank you!

Nick Rajpara: Dr. Lucia Lee is extremely welcoming and a great explainer of what is happening with your ailments. She is friendly and focused on helping her patients. The best physical therapist I have had so far.
Response: Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave feedback. We appreciate your business!

Mariam Mehter: Lucia does such a great job working with me on my various issues and takes the time to patiently answer my questions. Unfortunately I'm always reinjuring myself but hoping she doesn't get too fed up with me!
Response: It’s great to hear you had a five-star experience. All of us at STAR appreciate your business and positive feedback!

Mike Wheeler: Everyone I spoke with was incredibly kind and helpful. Dr. Lee is such an expert and helped me comfortably and thoroughly navigate the issue I was having. Couldn't recommend more highly!
Response: We are glad you had a good experience! Thank you for the review!!!

Jura: This place is fabulous. As a customer of Sports Therapy and Rehab before the pandemic, I was skeptical about switching to online Physical Therapy for my shoulder. Kathy Braun is amazing and she is so skilled at therapy that she can immediately give you feedback as you are doing the exercises she demonstrates for you. I get huge rewards from my weekly online sessions with her. Kathy has a staff of amazing therapists and a very thorough and dedicated staff that keep everything operating smoothly. Everyone you encounter is upbeat and focused on getting you better safely. I highly recommend them.
Response: Yes, TeleRehab has been a fabulous new treatment option! Patients get visual feedback of themselves and we are able to solve movement problems right in people's homes!

Joseph Bracewell: I had shoulder replacement surgery in mid-January and started physical therapy with Allison Evron around the end of February. I have been seeing her 1-2 times a week for 14 weeks now, including two months when we had "virtual" sessions during the COVID-19 shutdown. I have been extremely happy with the progress we've made. My strength and range of motion are steadily improving, and I have been able to get back to my sports-love (rowing) both indoors and out on the water. Allison is very knowledgeable, and I would recommend her highly. The entire staff at STAR are friendly and efficient, appointments run on time, etc.
Response: Glad the transition to TeleRehab worked well for you! It is an amazing format. Allison is great at getting people back to sports. Congratulations on your return to rowing!

Douglas Lister: Kathy Braun was wonderfully perceptive and through beyond my expectations in evaluating my condition and providing initial direction.
Response: Thanks so much for sharing your experience with Kathy, it truly means a lot!

Pouneh Dadmanesh: Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation (STAR) offers and delivers great personalized physical therapy services. STAR has truly amazing staff members and excellent physical therapists. I would like to thank Katherine Braun, Jesse Fuller, Allison Evron, Lucia Lee, Natasha Harper, and Hope! In my view, STAR is the best physical therapy center in the Washington D.C. area. Kathy is truly exceptional; she is the best and most compassionate physical therapist I have ever worked with. I have been at STAR many times in the past three years. More specifically, I have been there for torn rotator cuff, chronic neck pain, sciatica, and pelvis injuries. Tissue massage, stretching, strengthening, joint mobilization/stabilization, and athletic taping have been among the treatments I have received at STAR. The physical therapy sessions have been very effective. Kathy has helped me recover from sciatic problems and strengthen the muscles and ligaments in my shoulder and improve my range of motion significantly. Kathy has also taught me proper techniques that I can use regularly at home to manage and alleviate the pain associated with my injuries, words are not enough to express my gratitude. I have also been working with Jesse on core strengthening and mobility. He has created a good and unique workout routine for me. Jesse is a very knowledgeable personal trainer; I highly recommend him.
Response: It has been a pleasure working with such a motivated person that conqueors her challenges!

Malachy OConnor: I am very impressed by the service Natasha Harper provided me. She was helpful, resourceful, and courteous while working through the resolution of a refund I was seeking. I could not have solved this without her. I appreciate her "stick to" in getting the job done. Thank you, Natasha Sincerely, Rose OConnor
Response: I agree that she is super skilled at insurance problems. We are here to help you make this rehab and recovery process easier from all sides!

Andrew Bird: STAR’s commitment to quality of care, attention to detail, and the depth of knowledge and experience from similar procedures/patients is a critical part to my great rehab from shoulder surgery. Did my homework and toured several PT offices prior to surgery back in March. Allison Evron at STAR was my top choice and I am so pleased with her contribution to my progress. What impresses me most about Allison is her keen awareness, intuition, and active participation in my rehabilitation process. She always takes time to listen to my immediate concerns and I think she grasped my long-term recovery and skiing related performance goals before even I did. She knows when to push in exercises, does not hesitate to correct poor form, and recognizes pain thresholds just from my facial expressions. This level of care alone is worth a 5-star rating, but I’d also note our seamless transition to telehealth appointments during DC “stay at home” without losing momentum was awesome. Very motivating experience. I highly recommend STAR, and particularly Allison for all physical therapy care. They have restored my faith in dedicated physical therapists. That is a monumental achievement after an awful experience elsewhere where I felt like a meat pile on a Chicken McNuggets assembly line.
Response: Andrew, Thanks for sharing your positive experience with others! Allison is awesome and I know she didn’t want you to lose your recovery momentum! She is great at TeleRehab too.

Therapy Group of DC: what do users think?

Ryan Scott: I would highly recommend the Therapy Group of DC for anyone looking for counseling or therapy in the DC area. I’ve known Brad Brenner, the founder of Therapy Group of DC , for years and is a valued colleague. Since 2003, he has been hard at work to create a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of issue or sexual orientation. They’ve created a particular expertise in working with GLBT clients. Yet, they have much to offer anyone interested in therapy, whether it be individual, couples / relationship, group, or testing interventions. One major benefit of going with a group practice like District Psychotherapy Associates is the opportunity to work with a range of therapists, increasing your chances for a good fit. Common issues experienced by clients who work with this practice include, anxiety, career issues, depression, couples and relationship challenges, premarital counseling, Brad is continually improving the quality of care he and his colleagues give to those who chose Therapy Group of DC . Highly Recommended! Carrie Port: The Doctors at The Therapy Group of DC are exceptional! If you are looking for an office of therapists who are understanding, knowledgeable, and have a wide range of expertise, I strongly recommend giving them a call. They genuinely care about their patients and work with individuals at any stage in one's life. They are warm, inviting, and really make you feel comfortable.

Linda Ritchie: It is without hesitation that I recommend the Therapy Group of DC. They are a unique set of therapists who are dedicated to making a difference in the community. They are sticklers for professionalism and only use evidence based treatment protocols that they can track for progress and results. If you seek help at Therapy Group of DC, you will get a therapist who will treat you with acceptance and compassion and will provide you with exactly what you need to grow and move forward in your life.

Lolo W: Experienced PhD level therapists ensure you are matched with the right person to help you achieve your goals. I have known and worked with Dr. Keith Clemson for a number of years. I am impressed with his skill and compassion in working with all clients, and special expertise with couples and LGBT matters.

Heather Lyons: I would highly recommend the psychologists and counselor/therapists at District Psychotherapy Associates. They are highly skilled in individual therapy, couples counseling, marriage counseling, career counseling and specifically work with the gay/lesbian/LGBT community. Very competent clinicians with a high level of integrity!

Bodhi Rader: The therapists here truly create change for their patients and do so through a fantastic experience. It is clear the practice is concerned about their patients, but beyond that their staff and local students studying/preparing for their PhD as well. If you are ready to solve the issues in your life, give the Therapy Group a chance.

Keith Miller: I consider District Psychotherapy Associates to be a highly trusted source of quality psychotherapy and testing services in DC. I've known Brad for years and appreciate his associate's attention to detail in working with clients that are referred. I think especially of DPA for anyone in need of career counseling or wanting to work with affirming and competent gay, lesibian, bisexual and transgender awareness (GLBT) as well as couples counseling.

Erik Conroy: Dr. Brad Brenner, the founder of Therapy Group of DC, and I have been colleagues for nearly 20 years. I’ve often consulted Dr. Brenner for career direction and advice, and his sincere, pragmatic and empathetic approach shines through both his own work, and the practice he established. Therapy Group of DC has a diverse group of therapists who work with a wide-variety of individuals, making therapy both accessible and impactful.

Ken Urie: If you're looking for relief from anxiety or depression or just want less conflict and more peace in your relationships--you'll find just what you're looking for at District Psychotherapy Associates. I've known Brad Brenner, the founder of this psychotherapy group, for years as a hightly respected colleague. I've been consistently impressed with Brad's innovatoin and dedication to developing the best environment to serve the people who turn to his practice for help. He's assembled a solid group of therapists with a primary focus on helping you feel better and create more fulfilling relationships. They provide couples counseling (including premarital counseling), individual therapy, career counseling and group therapy. Because the "right fit" for YOU is so important in the counseling relationship, Brad's group tailors their services specifically for you and your unique needs--with an emphasis on your strengths and resources. They also welcome and provide a safe and affirming expereince for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered individuals and couples to create better lives and relationships. I really admire what Brad has created at his practice out of his genuine care for people. I highly recommend his counseling practice.

Amy Ellis: I strongly support and recommend Therapy Group of DC for individuals seeking warm and compassionate therapists with experience in relationships, depression, anxiety, plus many, many other arenas. Their therapists are adept at working with individuals from all races and social creeds, the GLBT community, and throughout one's lifespan.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. The facility is clean and not overcrowded. My Therapists are wonderful! They always listen when I explain how my injured area is feeling and they always check with me during my exercises to see if i'm doing okay. They are also very good at answering any questions I might have.

He is thoughtful and gets to understand each patient's needs carefully. She explains to the patient why each exercise works and how to perform them properly. Artricia Morton: My first contact with NRH was on November, 2021 it was such a great experience, Ms. Megan was so professional and understanding while assisting me with my appointment, she understood being a Senior Citizen my concerns about Covid procedures and the fact that I live far Southeast and the traffic is horrific in the mornings getting downtown D.C. and Mrs. Laurie my physical therapist is number 1 in my book , she's a great people person, and takes the time to explain things to you . On top of that the office was Clean , smelled fresh and the ladies room was excellently clean . What more could you expect from a therapy office , I recommend this therapy office to any and all. Thank you NRH for such a pleasant experience 😊 ☺ .
Response: Artricia, thank you for your kind words and for recognizing how hard our team is working to keep our patients safe during the pandemic. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. We wish you the best!

CM F.: I have a mysterious dizziness and BPPV problem that hit me off and on. I am very happy that my ENT doctor recommended me to do Vestibular physical therapy. My therapist Stephanie Johnson is so knowledgeable. she examined me thoroughly on nerves, hearing, ear, eye, neck, back....which is so much more than any doctor who examined me and trying to figure out my problem. Not only medically wise, she is also friendly, patient, a good listener, and explain things well. She has sets of exercises with excellent instructions and demo videos for me to follow. It's so organized and easy to follow. And it's easy to communicate with her through the online portal. I have full confidence in her. I know that I am in good hands.
Response: Thank you for your 5-star review! We are thrilled to hear that you had a great experience with us thanks to your physical therapist! We will surely share your kind words with our team so that she can be recognized for her great work. It’s our pleasure to support you and set you up for success as you work towards your physical therapy goals. Keep up the awesome work!

Alex Matini: For the last 5 months of working with NRH Rehab Network at K Street in Washington DC, I experienced unrivaled service with extremely experienced staff from those in charge of scheduling to the physical therapists themselves. Special thanks to Beth Rothrock, Stephanie Johnson, Jasmine White and Sadrea Hicks - just the utmost professionalism from all of them. They are truly a superior rehab center and I can't recommend them enough.
Response: Alex, thank you for letting us know that you had a great experience with us thanks to our team! We are committed to helping our patients achieve their physical therapy goals! Keep up the awesome work!

Mary Noonan: I had a very good experience at this facility. Laurie Rogers worked with me to help alleviate the effects of arthritis in my thumb joints. We made a lot of progress in a short time. The lady really knows her stuff!
Response: Mary, thank you for letting us know that you had a positive experience. We're happy to have you as a patient here at MedStar Health!

Sylvia Winik: To my gastroenterologist: Just want to thank you very much for recommending Rene Lawson. She is, indeed, terrific. She is compassionate, very clear, doesn’t shy away from the nasty stuff (both physically and verbally), and made me quite comfortable about having to talk about all sorts of very private stuff. She also responds very quickly to messages. AND … my results are stupendous! Once I started doing colon massages once a day (no big deal at all) (as well as using a “Squatty Potty (or my grandkids’ stool)), I began going every single day. This has continued for roughly 5 - 6 weeks and counting. 😎
Response: Sylvia, thank you for sharing your feedback. It was our pleasure to do everything we could to set you up for success in reaching your physical therapy goals. We will surely share your kind words with Rene so that she can be recognized for her outstanding care and service to you. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. We wish you all the very best!

armis sadri: This place doesn't even deserve a one-star. The management is awful and the team is a scam and so unprofessional. I met with a PT (Kyle Hawley) for my first session and agreed to continue my sessions with him. They put me on the waitlist because nothing was available for two weeks. They called and put me on new sessions without letting me know that it'll be with a student. I went and noticed that instead of the PT, I'll be meeting with an unlicensed PT student (based on his badge) who was supervised by the PT. I trusted that PT will supervise, but I was left on my own, the student had no idea what are my issues, he kept going back to the PT asking him questions, the PT didn't even come to me asking to see how's my progress and what would be next. I was lied to about who I'll be meeting with, Kyle Hawley was negligent and failed to provide the degree of care required of a professional under the standards and scope of your license, resulting in me coming back with pain in my ankle after the session.
Response: Armis, thank you for your review. We're very sorry for your experience and have shared your comments with our practice leaders to look into right away. We'd like to reach out to you for more information. If you're willing, please fill out our secure online patient feedback form: http://bit.ly/mshpff. We hope to speak with you soon and will do everything we can to help.

MedStar Health: Physical Therapy at Irving Street - Orthopedic Center: what do users think?

Cynthia Q: I began my journey with MSHPT a year ago and just graduated today. I had 2 major bone surgeries at the same time and I began with Chris, who was amazing. I did most of my therapy with Alice. She is an amazing human and was a huge help to my recovery. She made every trip of mine fun by keeping me laughing and in good spirits while I was doing therapy that often times had me in tears. The entire staff has been exceptionally wonderful. Thank you so much Chris, Alice, Jessica, Shelby, Audrey, James and my man Joe who was always ready with my ice. Amazing staff.

Kevin Martinson: After having surgery on my ankle, I've been going to physical therapy at this location for three months. Everyone has been a delight to interact with, from Renee at the front desk to Alice, my physical therapist. The amount of progress I've made from the day I started to now is leagues above what I initially expected. I am so grateful to every person who has worked with me on my recovery (special thanks to Alice, James, and Shelby!) at this MedStar location. Such an awesome team that provided a life-changing service. 5* experience easily.

Sylvia Gilbert: My experience with the Physical Therapy Department was a very pleasant one. My therapists, Cassandra Oliver and Lindsay Branchini, gave me excellent care. They were thorough, knowledgeable, and kind. Both paid attention to my concerns and answered all my questions in detail. I was apprehensive at first about being around a group of people, but seeing how the therapists and assistant kept people separated, cleaned the apparatuses, and used clean sheets and towels, made me feel comfortable and safe. I would recommend the Physical Therapy Department at MedStar Health to others, especially Cassie and Lindsay.

Amal Abdelfattah: I’ve had several reasons to attend PT in the past from accidents and such, but this PT has been my absolute favorite! All of the staff are friendly from the front desk to the gym, to the patients. I want to especially thank Johnathon for being such an incredible, a patient and such a pleasant person to work with. He breaks down each exercise we do, educates you on preventative measures, and clearly has a passion to help others. Keep up the good work!

Russell Sears: A short thank you to all the staff at the MedStar Health Physical Therapy at Irving Street, especially Audrey, Jessica, Shelby, Dave and Renee(?). The service provided was outstanding and everybody was most welcoming, personable and fully focused on my overall recovery and wellbeing. I highly recommend this center to help you recover and back to normalcy after orthopedic surgery or other physical injury; my surgeon was impressed with my speedy recovery. Free and easily accessed parking was an added benefit. I had a hip labrum reconstruction operation on February 11, 2022, and after 8 weeks of Physical Therapy twice/week I am now walking comfortably and with a normal gait and have full range of motion; I'm gradually beginning to practice soccer with my 12-year-old son! Thank you, Russell Sears

Phyllis Lambert: Alice & Shelby provided me with focused and customized theraphy, treatment and care. They are the essence of professionalism. Thank you for kindness on every level. Much thanks to the front desk, Ms. Denise and the other staff that made this a successful experience.

Rowland White: I injured my lower back due to unstable transfer with 3 individuals present. I ensured I was positioned properly but the issue occured because 1 person didn't provide equal strength. Medstar Rehab therapist have been great....hands contact to areas and tissues along with other procedures is WONDERFUL.....KUDOS!

John Green: Amarka, Adela and Team are so awesome. They are so friendly, but straight about business. They work you hard to get you 100%. They make sure our health comes first. Best at what they do. This therapist team gets the GOLD everytime. Thanks for working me hard and given me a gift at the end of each session, the cryotherapy machine. Thank you Amarka and Team for the best service and your professionalism.

Selam Debesay: I would like to give a shout out to all the staff at the MedStar Health Physical Therapy, Orthopedic Center at Irving Street, especially Jonathan and Lindsay. Everyone has been very friendly to my Mom and made her recovery journey very pleasant.

Ryan Maddock: I was referred to PT for shin splints and a few other issues I was having while running. I worked with Cassy on building up supporting muscles and correcting my form. Can not say enough good things about Cassy, she was very friendly and helped get me back on track!
