George Washington University Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation Center: what do users think?

deirdre smith: You can learn everything needed to practice protocols for specific conditions, however when the practitioner is not only knowledgeable, but can flex/ intuit the steps necessary to heal, you empower clients to change and TRUST the process Dr. Hope Cunningham is a value asset to this department. I hope she is acknowledged and appreciated

H B: I'll start by saying that I rarely leave reviews on any business unless there is something seriously wrong. My Grandmother was sent here for a little over two weeks after a hospital stay mainly for PT. We agreed to send her here based on what the case manager from the hospital said this place rated in the state. Well, we should've looked further because this place is a complete DUMP. I left a message with the "Administrator" two days ago to try to rectify some of the mistakes before leaving a review but, like all other employees there, they avoid family like the plague. Very professional. There is A LOT that went wrong in her short stay. My grandmother kept telling us that the nurses (CNA's mainly) yell at the patients. We took it with a grain of salt until we were able to visit when they opened visitation back up. We heard loud and clear what she was witnessing on a daily basis. The place is OLD and outdated. The facilities are very old and looked uncleaned. It smelled. She wasn't given all of her meds while she was there and one of her BP meds was changed without consulting her Cardiologist which could have been fatal. There isn't enough staff and most nurses sit at the nurses station and socialize. Lunch was served while we were there and it was on par with jail food. Not to mention that didn't adhere to her dietary needs..oh no. NEVER heard from the case manager for discharge plans or received discharge papers! Her VM was full when I called...shocker. So I went and packed up my grandmother's things and rolled her out, no one blinked an eye. Zero communication. If you'd like to send your family to a jail-like setting...this is your place. Disgraceful!!!

Robert Sepe: I was less than impressed with physical therapist Joseph Signorino's civility or compassion as a therapist. It's not just that he was rude, passive aggressive and condescending to me, but that he did so just a couple of days after my hip surgery - and over such a small issue. I had concerns about getting into and out of the Fairmont Hotel pool they use for aqua therapy. Most of the patients while I was there complained about the pool. When I sent an email to Joe and my surgeon expressing my concerns, the response was reasonable: lets discuss solutions and possible alternatives. Great. Apparently this diplomatic answer from Joe was only for show since my surgeon was in cc: on the email, because when I saw Joe 2 days after my surgery, he seemed defensive, angry and dismissed my concerns out of hand. I brought up the pool issue and asked were there other options. He simply but emphatically said "no." I asked "No, there's nothing?" He said staring at me, "No, nothing." I paused waiting to see if he'd expand on his comments, but he stayed silent and just kept quietly staring at me which was weird. After this long silence, I moved on and to ask about maybe adding more PT sessions and using another pool facility. I didn't get the chance to finish as he cut me off very abruptly and said quite emphatically, "No, no. Only 2 sessions per week and that's it. No no, Only 2 sessions and that's all." He had no intention of discussing ANY of my concerns. Seeing the confusion on my face, he then mentioned he could schedule more time on the CP machine at home, and he then added, "But this may not work for you, but it'll work for me. I'll be able to compare your results to other patients who finish the program and compare results." This sounded not just a little bit snarky and concerned me that he wasn't deeply invested in my recovery anymore because I wasn't doing what he wanted. He then finished up his comments by saying sarcastically that if I have issues with my recovery later on, he'll be able to look back (on the decision to not go to the pool) as the cause. He then said that kids, women, old people use the pool just fine, but "you're this big strong guy that isn't doing it." So not only did he dismiss my concerns, but decided to voice his anger by being passive aggressive, rude, and condescending to me just days after my surgery and while I was still in a bit of pain from the surgery. When he walked away for a few minutes, my wife who was sitting near us and watching the whole conversation, said it appeared to her he was angry and defensive and taking my concerns about the pool use very personally for some reason. She and I discussed for a few minutes why he was acting this way as this seemed to be a small issue to us to talk through with him, and we’d never seen this side of him before. Prior to this, I'd been very pleased working with Joe, but this issue seemed to have gotten under his skin and he was now acting out like a petulant child. When I decided to address his behavior and asked what was going on with him he abruptly cut me off and said, “Let’s just put this behind us.” So he was angry, had had his say, knew he was misbehaving, and didn’t want talk about his inappropriate behavior. Does this sound like somebody who has your best interests in mind? A couple days later, I found another therapist and a new place for aqua therapy closer to home and stopped seeing him. No one should have to deal with this childish, rude behavior from a health care provider days after surgery while not feeling 100% and still in pain. My wife and I were disappointed in his conduct. I expected Joe to be decent and to help me out, but he just didn't have it in him. (The above is just my opinion based on my personal experience.)

Brent Allen: Physical therapists were great and helpful (although I'm not really qualified to judge that). I only went to two appointments. If you have an hour to navigate through all the people needed to tell you how much a service costs, they'll at first tell you that they roll all charges up and add them together when they discharge you. I was charged $1265 for an initial one hour evaluation. That's not a typo.

Dont use WORK computer STOP using work computer: My experience at the university was very fine.

MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital: what do users think?

Carmen A. Starks: I had two very cordial, professional therapist. Briana made a great assessment addressing my balance concerns. She set 4 goals for me. I achieved 3 goals 100% and the 4th goal 80%. Her assistant, Edith gave me a good suggestion to join a Senior Wellness Center to continue what was accomplished during physical therapy. The check-in process was professional and with excellent customer service. Appointments were timely. The facility was well maintained. The sanitizing of the equipment being used was done after the use of each individual. I would highly recommend MedStar National Rehabilitation to others.
Response: Thank you so much, Carmen. We’re delighted to hear that you had a 5-star experience with us. We are committed to doing all we can to set our patients up for success in reaching their physical therapy goals. We will surely share your kind words with Briana and Edith. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health!

Carsia Robinson: My therapist is FANTASTIC!! She truly listen to what I need, and works with me and my concerns. Just in a few sessions I feel super comfortable and getting the help I need; I see this with all the therapists that are with their patients. Truly caring and want the best for them!! 10/10 would definitely recommend
Response: Thank you for your feedback, Carsia. It's great to hear that you've built such a trusting relationship with your physical therapist. Thank you for choosing us for your health care!

Nikola Agatic: Been to many PT facilities. MedStar rehab at Irving was the best experience thus far: large facility, many options for doing PT, amazing and personable staff, best customer service, great communications and expectation setting. The best part was 1-on-1 attention with super capable & knowledgeable staff. The overall PT tremendously helped me heal and strengthen sport injuries.
Response: Nikola, thank you for your kind words. We're so happy to hear that you had a 5-star experience when you came to us for help with your sports injuries. It's our pleasure to set you up for success in reaching your physical therapy goals. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. Keep up the great work!

Ellen Healy: If I could give this facility a zero I would. I was here for 2 weeks after major back surgery. The physical therapists were qualified but that is the extent of any satisfactory service I received. We had to fight to get a half-way decent bed-this was major back surgery after all. My room was extremely dirty-not sure about all rooms-but the bathroom was disgusting. The nurses were mostly traveling but they were better at least than my arrogant young, female doctor I had. Would list her last name if I could remember but her first name was Laura. I would avoid this place like the plague. Just hoping you do t puck that up here. So gross.
Response: Ellen, we are very sorry for your experience during your stay after your back surgery. Our patients are our top priority and we truly apologize that we missed the mark. We've shared your comments with the most appropriate leaders on our team, but would like to reach out to you for more details. Please send us your contact information by filling out our secure online patient feedback form: http://bit.ly/mshpff. We hope to speak with you soon and will do everything we can to help.

Zaheer M (zaheer): The doctors and physical therapists here are knowledgeable and passionate. I'd recommend them to anyone. The nursing and scheduling process can be a bit confusing. At a recent visit, I was told someone would give me an appointment, and I waited half an hour. I submitted a complaint, and the nurse coordinator promptly called me to apologize and get more information. So I appreciated that.
Response: Zaheer, thank you for your review. While we're glad that you've had great experiences with our doctors and physical therapists, it's disappointing to hear that not all aspects of your visit were as positive. We certainly wouldn't like to be forgotten about, either, and truly apologize that this happened. We'd like to reach out to you for more information regarding this experience. If you're willing, please fill out our secure online patient feedback form: http://bit.ly/mshpff. We hope to speak with you soon.

Cherie Sammis Berman: Kelly is one of the most knowledgeable compassionate energetic PT I have met and gave me hope and confidence in my journey with cancer in alleviating my chronic pain and discomfort with PT methods. Stellar patient experience and organized system of care at NRH! Thank you!!
Response: Thank you for your 5-star review. Cherie. We are thrilled to hear that you had a great experience with us thanks to your physical therapist! It’s our pleasure to support you and set you up for success as you work towards your physical therapy goals. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. Keep up the awesome work!

Xiao-Feng Zheng: I transferred my mom here for acute rehabilitation after her initial treatment at Suburban Hospital following her car accident. NRH is indeed the top rehabilitation hospital in the Washington area and an excellent hospital in the country. The therapists here are professional, positive, encouraging and engaging. The nurses, medical technicians, and staff here are caring, compassionate, and ready to assist. The NRH also has great equipment and tools to assist patients with all kinds of injuries to regain mobility and daily life activities. After a seven-weeks stay, my mom made tremendous progress from barely able to sit up on the edge of the bed to able to walk a lap around hall with only some assistance. If you are seeking the best rehabilitation treatment in the DC area, NRH is definitely the best hospital to go.
Response: Xiao-Feng, thank you so much for your kind words. Your review truly made our day! It always means a lot to us when someone takes the time to let us know that their loved one had a positive experience and that they achieved significant improvement. We will surely share your kind words with the team at our MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital. We hope your mom is doing great and wish your family the best!

Sadina Brown: I prayed for my son to be accepted to NRH because I knew this is where he would receive the best care. Myself and son age 22 arrived at NRH in February 2022. We were discharged in April 2022. The level of care, compassion, patience and professionalism we received was remarkable. NRH doctors, nurses, therapist, security, administration, technicians and sitters played a vital role in my son’s road to recovery. Now that we are home the support and skills Ive learned at NRH allows me to continue to take great care of my son. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! #1 Rehab hospital 🏥 Javi Roman will never forget you all!!!
Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. We are thrilled to hear that your experience with us was so positive! We would be honored to speak with you more about your family's experience. If you are willing, please share your contact information and refer to this review by using our feedback form: http://bit.ly/mshpff.

Troybias: I am pleased to say the care I received at MedStar NRH was far beyond my expectations. I questioned in the beginning, what kind of therapy can they do for me. Long story short, I could not raise my left arm above my shoulder and 3 weeks later I'm able to raise it above my head. I'm so grateful to have worked with Ms. Dianne, she said she would get me there and she did. I will definitely be returning for more treatments. ☺️
Response: That's awesome news! We're delighted to hear that you had such a great experience and saw so much improvement with us. Keep up the awesome work!

Manisha Gupta PhD: I've been a long-term rehab patient of Medstar NRH for the past 3+ yrs, and am incredibly grateful to the dedication, patience and support of the PT, OTs, and SLPs I've worked with over the past few yrs -- the longevity and coordination of my therapist relationships with each other, as well as with my physicians has been a long journey, but vital in my road to an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan for my chronic pain / MSK / neuropathic conditions. In particular, I want to give thanks to Heather Jentilet (primary PT for 2+ yrs), Tim McGrath (OT), and Alyssa Bleiymeyer (SLP) for their patience, motivation and support in my treatment journey!
Response: Thank you so much, Dr. Gupta. We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear that you had a 5-star experience. Thank you for choosing us for your health care. We wish you the absolute best!

Melinda McCain: I love everything about this place so far. I've only been coming to this office for 2 weeks twice a week and have had nothing but GOOD experiences. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The facility is clean and not overcrowded. My Therapists are wonderful! They always listen when I explain how my injured area is feeling and they always check with me during my exercises to see if i'm doing okay. They are also very good at answering any questions I might have.
Response: Thank you so much, Melinda. It means the world to us to hear that we earned five stars from you. It's our pleasure to do all we can to set you up for success in reaching your goals. Keep up the awesome work!

Lisa Fuentes: Laurie Rogers is one of the nation's top occupational therapy practitioners. She is a professional with years of experience and therefore tremendous knowledge. He is thoughtful and gets to understand each patient's needs carefully. She explains to the patient why each exercise works and how to perform them properly. She has a positive attitude and she is a pleasure to work with. I have had a wonderful experience working with her, I have fully recovered from my fractures and I am pain free.

Artricia Morton: My first contact with NRH was on November, 2021 it was such a great experience, Ms. Megan was so professional and understanding while assisting me with my appointment, she understood being a Senior Citizen my concerns about Covid procedures and the fact that I live far Southeast and the traffic is horrific in the mornings getting downtown D.C. and Mrs. Laurie my physical therapist is number 1 in my book , she's a great people person, and takes the time to explain things to you . On top of that the office was Clean , smelled fresh and the ladies room was excellently clean . What more could you expect from a therapy office , I recommend this therapy office to any and all. Thank you NRH for such a pleasant experience 😊 ☺ .

Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. We wish you the best!

CM F.: I have a mysterious dizziness and BPPV problem that hit me off and on. I am very happy that my ENT doctor recommended me to do Vestibular physical therapy. My therapist Stephanie Johnson is so knowledgeable. she examined me thoroughly on nerves, hearing, ear, eye, neck, back....which is so much more than any doctor who examined me and trying to figure out my problem. Not only medically wise, she is also friendly, patient, a good listener, and explain things well. She has sets of exercises with excellent instructions and demo videos for me to follow. It's so organized and easy to follow. And it's easy to communicate with her through the online portal. I have full confidence in her. I know that I am in good hands.
Response: Thank you for your 5-star review! We are thrilled to hear that you had a great experience with us thanks to your physical therapist! We will surely share your kind words with our team so that she can be recognized for her great work. It’s our pleasure to support you and set you up for success as you work towards your physical therapy goals. Keep up the awesome work!

Alex Matini: For the last 5 months of working with NRH Rehab Network at K Street in Washington DC, I experienced unrivaled service with extremely experienced staff from those in charge of scheduling to the physical therapists themselves. Special thanks to Beth Rothrock, Stephanie Johnson, Jasmine White and Sadrea Hicks - just the utmost professionalism from all of them. They are truly a superior rehab center and I can't recommend them enough.
Response: Alex, thank you for letting us know that you had a great experience with us thanks to our team! We are committed to helping our patients achieve their physical therapy goals! Keep up the awesome work!

Mary Noonan: I had a very good experience at this facility. Laurie Rogers worked with me to help alleviate the effects of arthritis in my thumb joints. We made a lot of progress in a short time. The lady really knows her stuff!
Response: Mary, thank you for letting us know that you had a positive experience. We're happy to have you as a patient here at MedStar Health!

Sylvia Winik: To my gastroenterologist: Just want to thank you very much for recommending Rene Lawson. She is, indeed, terrific. She is compassionate, very clear, doesn’t shy away from the nasty stuff (both physically and verbally), and made me quite comfortable about having to talk about all sorts of very private stuff. She also responds very quickly to messages. AND … my results are stupendous! Once I started doing colon massages once a day (no big deal at all) (as well as using a “Squatty Potty (or my grandkids’ stool)), I began going every single day. This has continued for roughly 5 - 6 weeks and counting. 😎
Response: Sylvia, thank you for sharing your feedback. It was our pleasure to do everything we could to set you up for success in reaching your physical therapy goals. We will surely share your kind words with Rene so that she can be recognized for her outstanding care and service to you. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. We wish you all the very best!

armis sadri: This place doesn't even deserve a one-star. The management is awful and the team is a scam and so unprofessional. I met with a PT (Kyle Hawley) for my first session and agreed to continue my sessions with him. They put me on the waitlist because nothing was available for two weeks. They called and put me on new sessions without letting me know that it'll be with a student. I went and noticed that instead of the PT, I'll be meeting with an unlicensed PT student (based on his badge) who was supervised by the PT. I trusted that PT will supervise, but I was left on my own, the student had no idea what are my issues, he kept going back to the PT asking him questions, the PT didn't even come to me asking to see how's my progress and what would be next. I was lied to about who I'll be meeting with, Kyle Hawley was negligent and failed to provide the degree of care required of a professional under the standards and scope of your license, resulting in me coming back with pain in my ankle after the session.
Response: Armis, thank you for your review. We're very sorry for your experience and have shared your comments with our practice leaders to look into right away. We'd like to reach out to you for more information. If you're willing, please fill out our secure online patient feedback form: http://bit.ly/mshpff. We hope to speak with you soon and will do everything we can to help.

MedStar Health: Physical Therapy at Lafayette Centre: what do users think?

diaa noureldin: The PT team at Lafayette Centre is simply great. They are professional, well-organized and quite experienced with sports-related injuries. In 3-4 weeks (6-8 sessions) coupled with simple home exercises, I was already seeing an improvement. The team is also quite pleasant to work with and the facility is well-equipped and super clean. I worked mostly with Yvonne and Ryan, and they are really amazing.
Response: Thank you so much, Diaa. We appreciate your kind words and will surely share them with the team, including Yvonne and Ryan. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health!

Sara Bonner: Highly recommend! I've been seeing Brian Colella on and off for a year now and he has been tremendously helpful with my knee pain. He has put together a program of exercises that are challenging and totally tailored to my needs. And he always finds a way to transition each exercise into something I can do at home, too. He's extremely responsive and flexible with appointment times, and moreover, he's super fun to work with. I always look forward to our sessions, it's a great workout and we always have a lot of laughs as we go. Thanks for everything, Brian!

Collin Church: Highly recommend the physical therapy team. I saw Gregory Lloyd after having injured my groin which prevented me from being able to workout. After 1 month of doing the recommended exercises, I made progress much quicker than I had anticipated and am already back to working out again. Great experience and Greg was very helpful and pleasant to work with.

Kelly Buckley: MedStar Lafayette Physical Therapy is 10/10! Bryn and team are the most attentive, detail-oriented, friendly, empathetic group of PTs that I've ever met. You are in good hands at MedStar Lafayette Physical Therapy from the moment you walk in the door!

Monica Coleman: Greg Lloyd PT, OPT, SCS is awesome! When I first started in the program, I wasn't sure anything could be done. I have serious osteoporosis in my hip and lumber spin, as well as spinal stenosis. It was very debilitating. Yet, within the first lesson, I could feel the difference. It was amazing. As I continue with the treatments and exercises, I grow stronger every day. He even helped me with a dizziness problem that I've had for a long time. Greg is extremely knowledgeable and finds solutions that help the healing process for his clients. More importantly, he is a compassionate and caring coach. He has a knack for encouraging his clients in a way that motivates us to excel in the therapy sessions. I am so grateful for his efforts. It has certainly made my life a lot better. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for an outstanding physical therapist. Monica Coleman, JD

The 5 sessions I had were with Greg Lloyd, PT, DPT who provided pertinent exercises to remedy the physiological challenges I experienced and also shared his innate knowledge of the body with a calm and pleasant dedication to my continued benefit. Unique Rehabilitation & Health Center: what do users think?

Terrencia Lester: I am currently a resident here. I got here April 30,2021. I enjoy the staff and the activities especially bingo and when they play music and take us on field trips. Most of the staff always have a positive attitude and do their best to ensure that the residents are taken care of. I think they need more staff like the CNA,nurses, laundry and dietary because they will get over worked. Other than that I'm ok with being here

Ms Libra: My mom was sent there for rehab when she became very ill but eventually was placed on hospice care. She was on 4-North the room directly behind the nurse's station where she passed on 7/7/2020. Can't really say what time she actually passed because she wasn't "pronounced" until 6 something that evening. When the nurse finally called which was around the time of 9:30- 10 pm or so I missed the called because I was asleep. I awoke the next morning to a VM from a male nurse with a heavy Nigerian accent which I couldn't make out anything he was saying. I was able to pick up every 3rd or 4th word of him trying to say my mom has expired. No empathy or no nothing. I tried calling back back to speak with a nurse and I was told "The nurse is with a patient at the moment and they will have him call me back". Long story short, he never called back. In turn the hospice facility ended up contacting me. My whole issue was them not appropriately contacting me once the doctor came to pronounce her. Why it took so many hours for me to find out?? This facility needs to do better, and if management decides to read this review, please feel free to answer.

V Woodhull: I have a 75yo friend at Unique. The place is ALWAYS clean and staff is pleasant. As a retired soc.wkr, I've seen worse & Unique is much much better. I give it 3.5 stars cuz its an ok place, not exceptional but above average. The Unique phones dont work well & there is a bad connection. And it is difficult to arrange a visit but its doable. And they need to improve meals.

Kimberly Corum: I like unique. My mom has been there a year now and compared to were she was at first. When you walk into the place it smells nice and front desk is always on point. If I used the ladies room I go and its the cleanest bathroom ever. The only thing I don't like is that REPAIR'S. They don't repair the phones. When ever I call I get nothing but static when they transfer me to the area I need. Also the staff is nice and friendly but some of them are very rude when answering the phones. They use words like WHAT! WHO DO YOU WANT TO SPEAK AND MOST OF ALL WHAT DID YOU SAY THE NAME WAS.

Bernice Parker: Never seem to get in touch with anybody there they give you a number that doesn't even ring my husband is there supposed to be there temporarily I tried to get in touch with Social Services she's never there she never answers her phone I try to get in touch with the Social Services office there no one answered their phone my husband said it's not a good place he don't want to be there I've been trying to get in touch with VA hospital to get them to move him from there to another facility or back to VA this is terrible why is my husband going through this he is 78 years old and he knows what's going on and he doesn't want to be there what is the problem call the Family let them know how their family is doing in that place you can't get in touch with anyone in there and then they tell you to make an appointment then you can't get in touch with anybody to make an appointment what are you supposed to do

Tamar Stone: I been for 3 years and for the most part I like the place because it’s clean and save for me as well as others. Most of the staff are friendly that, and it’s a great place and I enjoy living here.

Therese Wenja: Unique is a great facility. Staff are friendly and love what they do. Facility is always kept clean.

KING COBRA: Honestly this is not a good place 2 bring your loved 1 or work..they treat the residents bad in there by stealing their 💵 that Medicare & Medicaid gives them plus tryna 2 extort 💵 from them 4 staying there 2 long. The food they feed the residents are terrible & not appetizing which makes them order food on the outside 2 eat..also they treat staff members horrible @ the facility where some folks don't even want 2 come 2 work. Some staff members abuse the residents 4 refusing 2 take medicine or eat..I'm stating all this coz use 2 work there & seen these things 4 myself, got terminated 2day 4 reporting 2 the union of them suspended me 4 not able 2 make it 2 work on a day that I couldn't be relived from 1st job..they're rude 2 everyone who comes in that building the residents are house. They really need 2 be shutdown by DOH

Kendra Katherine: Absolutely love the staff taking care of my Mom. She is very comfortable and I am able to sleep at night.

Calvin Morgan: I have been a resident for two years. The staff here are nice and caring. They are pretty good at answering the call bells

Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation: what do users think?

Meredith McGoings: I came to Lucia at Star Rehabitation and Spirts in January with excruciating left knee pain. She messaged and gave me exercises to do daily. My ability to walk without pain improved quite a bit. Now I am pain free and walking without a cane. I highly recommend Lucia Lee as a very knowledgeable physical therapist.Meredith M.
Response: We really appreciate your vocal support in so many ways. Thank you!

Nick Rajpara: Dr. Lucia Lee is extremely welcoming and a great explainer of what is happening with your ailments. She is friendly and focused on helping her patients. The best physical therapist I have had so far.
Response: Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave feedback. We appreciate your business!

Mariam Mehter: Lucia does such a great job working with me on my various issues and takes the time to patiently answer my questions. Unfortunately I'm always reinjuring myself but hoping she doesn't get too fed up with me!
Response: It’s great to hear you had a five-star experience. All of us at STAR appreciate your business and positive feedback!

Mike Wheeler: Everyone I spoke with was incredibly kind and helpful. Dr. Lee is such an expert and helped me comfortably and thoroughly navigate the issue I was having. Couldn't recommend more highly!
Response: We are glad you had a good experience! Thank you for the review!!!

Jura: This place is fabulous. As a customer of Sports Therapy and Rehab before the pandemic, I was skeptical about switching to online Physical Therapy for my shoulder. Kathy Braun is amazing and she is so skilled at therapy that she can immediately give you feedback as you are doing the exercises she demonstrates for you. I get huge rewards from my weekly online sessions with her. Kathy has a staff of amazing therapists and a very thorough and dedicated staff that keep everything operating smoothly. Everyone you encounter is upbeat and focused on getting you better safely. I highly recommend them.
Response: Yes, TeleRehab has been a fabulous new treatment option! Patients get visual feedback of themselves and we are able to solve movement problems right in people's homes!

Joseph Bracewell: I had shoulder replacement surgery in mid-January and started physical therapy with Allison Evron around the end of February. I have been seeing her 1-2 times a week for 14 weeks now, including two months when we had "virtual" sessions during the COVID-19 shutdown. I have been extremely happy with the progress we've made. My strength and range of motion are steadily improving, and I have been able to get back to my sports-love (rowing) both indoors and out on the water. Allison is very knowledgeable, and I would recommend her highly. The entire staff at STAR are friendly and efficient, appointments run on time, etc.
Response: Glad the transition to TeleRehab worked well for you! It is an amazing format. Allison is great at getting people back to sports. Congratulations on your return to rowing!

Douglas Lister: Kathy Braun was wonderfully perceptive and through beyond my expectations in evaluating my condition and providing initial direction.
Response: Thanks so much for sharing your experience with Kathy, it truly means a lot!

Pouneh Dadmanesh: Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation (STAR) offers and delivers great personalized physical therapy services. STAR has truly amazing staff members and excellent physical therapists. I would like to thank Katherine Braun, Jesse Fuller, Allison Evron, Lucia Lee, Natasha Harper, and Hope! In my view, STAR is the best physical therapy center in the Washington D.C. area. Kathy is truly exceptional; she is the best and most compassionate physical therapist I have ever worked with. I have been at STAR many times in the past three years. More specifically, I have been there for torn rotator cuff, chronic neck pain, sciatica, and pelvis injuries. Tissue massage, stretching, strengthening, joint mobilization/stabilization, and athletic taping have been among the treatments I have received at STAR. The physical therapy sessions have been very effective. Kathy has helped me recover from sciatic problems and strengthen the muscles and ligaments in my shoulder and improve my range of motion significantly. Kathy has also taught me proper techniques that I can use regularly at home to manage and alleviate the pain associated with my injuries, words are not enough to express my gratitude. I have also been working with Jesse on core strengthening and mobility. He has created a good and unique workout routine for me. Jesse is a very knowledgeable personal trainer; I highly recommend him.
Response: It has been a pleasure working with such a motivated person that conqueors her challenges!

Malachy OConnor: I am very impressed by the service Natasha Harper provided me. She was helpful, resourceful, and courteous while working through the resolution of a refund I was seeking. I could not have solved this without her. I appreciate her "stick to" in getting the job done. Thank you, Natasha Sincerely, Rose OConnor
Response: I agree that she is super skilled at insurance problems. We are here to help you make this rehab and recovery process easier from all sides!

Andrew Bird: STAR’s commitment to quality of care, attention to detail, and the depth of knowledge and experience from similar procedures/patients is a critical part to my great rehab from shoulder surgery. Did my homework and toured several PT offices prior to surgery back in March. Allison Evron at STAR was my top choice and I am so pleased with her contribution to my progress. What impresses me most about Allison is her keen awareness, intuition, and active participation in my rehabilitation process. She always takes time to listen to my immediate concerns and I think she grasped my long-term recovery and skiing related performance goals before even I did. She knows when to push in exercises, does not hesitate to correct poor form, and recognizes pain thresholds just from my facial expressions. This level of care alone is worth a 5-star rating, but I’d also note our seamless transition to telehealth appointments during DC “stay at home” without losing momentum was awesome. Very motivating experience. I highly recommend STAR, and particularly Allison for all physical therapy care. They have restored my faith in dedicated physical therapists. That is a monumental achievement after an awful experience elsewhere where I felt like a meat pile on a Chicken McNuggets assembly line.
Response: Andrew, Thanks for sharing your positive experience with others! Allison is awesome and I know she didn’t want you to lose your recovery momentum! She is great at TeleRehab too.

Washington Wellness Physical Therapy and SportsCare, LLC: what do users think?

Stephanie Sneary: Always excellent care! Washington Wellness therapists have assisted me with recovery from surgeries multiple times since 2012 and they are always my preference for PT care.

Eric Clopper: As someone who has seen many physical therapists for injuries/surgeries in the past, I can say with absolute confidence that Kelly is one of the best!! Dr. Kelly Leininger (the owner) helped me make a full recovery from two major shoulder surgeries over the past year. She understands where her patients are, where they're looking to go, and she couples that with an unparalleled understanding of the human body and how it recovers. Highly recommend Washington Wellness, Kelly, her team, and the facility -- always clean, safe, and on time as well (as a bonus!).

Dana swendsen: There great I called as a new patient and they were able to get me in the same day. My Physical Therapist Kristi is great she is very caring and I trust her with my knee. The whole staff is always pleasant.

Peter Sexton: Washington Wellness has been great for my rehabilitation! Kristi has been great, and makes sure to put together a plan with your specific goals in mind. I would first recommend not getting injured, but if that fails I would definitely recommend Washington Wellness

James Peranteau: Great physical therapy, I have been very happy with the quality, structure, and service of the physical therapists. On the administrative side, however, I have been disappointed. Washington Wellness directly charged me for my physical therapy sessions, rather than charging my insurance provider. In the process, Washington Wellness overcharged me a couple of hundred dollars. The staff have acknowledged this, but it has been nearly four months since my last physical therapy, and I still have not received a refund. My emails often go unanswered, and the staff typically deflect my calls. This is unfortunate, because the actual physical therapy is quite good.

Stoyan Dimitrov: The whole team is engaged from the minute you walk in the door. Front desk is polite, helpful and extremely nice. Appointments are scheduled easily, reminders are set and send, so you have one less thing to worry about. Everything is well explained and communicated from the beginning. Best place for physical therapy ever. Here, you can find professional therapists and friendly staff. And what is also important - team members fit your needs and accommodate your situation. Keep up the good work!

Vishal Batra: Jennifer, Kelly and their team are very knowledgeable, and have been great in getting me on the right track for my acl recovery. They've been really attentive towards my therapy. She's my second therapist as I'm 8 months post op, and wish I'd gone to them first. The whole team their is cool.

Charles and Suzanne Carrigan: Kelly Leninger at Washington Wellness knows her business when it comes to helping people with musculoskeletal issues. Charles's knee pain on stairs has been significantly reduced as a result of the care she has provided. She also identified and is working on other issues that affect normal, every-day mobility. We recommend her highly.

Catherine Roth: I thought my physical therapist was friendly and knowledgable. The structure for care at this office did not resonate well with me. After the first intake evaluation, you work with a PT for about 20 - 30 minutes each session, and then do exercises on your own or with the instruction of an aide. However, during my time with the PT, she was often slightly distracted with the client she had seen before me that was now on to doing exercises. The PT has to tell the aide very quickly what exercises to do with you that day, while her next client is already waiting. The aide often needed more guidance, so the PT would pipe in sometimes to tell the aide what to do next or how to do something. The PT aide also didn't really give much feedback while I was doing exercises - like whether I was doing it right or wrong, what I should be feeling etc. The effect being that it seemed like no one was able to fully concentrate on one client at a time. This structure might work for lots of people, but it didn't work for me.

Amal Disparte: Second time I've gone-first time for broken femur after car accident-this time for nerve damage in my hand. Can't recommend them enough-especially owner, Kelly. Staff is thoughtful and empathetic and come with a plan that really works! Highly recommend.!

Alliance Physical Therapy: what do users think?

Nathaly: Avisha was amazing in guiding and helping my recovery after a torn ACL. She's very professional and knowledgeable and I cannot attribute my progress without her assistance. The rest of the staff were also very friendly and courteous.

Ramona Crippen: I saw Avisha at Alliance Physical Therapy for six months after a fall that resulted in a bad tibia plateau fracture, and I was extremely pleased with their service and expertise. The front desk staff were easy to work with for insurance billing and appointment scheduling. The office is conveniently located in NW DC. The therapists and technicians made a very difficult time for me much more enjoyable. I was confident in their abilities and trusted their treatment. They did their best to make me comfortable while challenging me three days a week to improve. When I started with them, I was unable to walk and in a wheelchair; as I complete my therapy with them, I am walking again. I'd highly recommend them!

Deb F: Very happy with my experience at Alliance PT and I would definitely recommend them. I worked with Bianca, Autumn, Avisha & Andrew who all helped get rid of my pain! They all knew what they were doing! Everyone was professional, nice and friendly, including all the assistants and office staff. They are obviously all happy to work there which is always a good sign.

Kathy Kretman: Bianca is the best physical therapist that I've had, and I have been to many over the years. She is smarter than the podiatrists and orthopedists that I've had. She has worked with me on balance, core strengthening and most recently, a variety of feet problems. Her assessment of my issues is spot on. She takes great care to ensure the treatments work. And, they do. I am also impressed by the professionalism and warmth of all the staff, from the receptionists to the therapists and assistants. Simply put, I wish I could give Bianca ten stars -- she deserves it.

Todd Johnson: I've been working with Avisha who's been outstanding. She's very professional, knowledgeable, and has helped my issue with left foot drop etc. improve some already. I would also like to note that Roxana who works at the reception desk has also been great. If you're in need of PT Alliance is the place! Greg Johnson

Matthew LaBorde: I've been working with Alliance Physical Therapy for about 2 months now. They were flexible with scheduling. I was able to get a weekly appointment at 7am, which was perfect for work conflicts. The staff are kind, knowledgeable, and good humored. I worked closely with Autumn, who was the DPT who originally assessed me, and I found that she is one of the friendliest healthcare professionals I've encountered. I also truly enjoyed my time with Bianca, Avisha, Andrew, and Gino. Gino is really good at making you feel comfortable while doing the exercises, and he is curious about your life and will remember your conversation from week to week (another rare occurrence among healthcare professionals) Each person I named adds awesome knowledge and strength to the team at Alliance, I always feel well taken care of and really enjoy catching up with the team. Overall, I always left Alliance with a smile on my face and feeling stronger week to week with my sprained AC joint. Thank you, Alliance!

Susan Walker: From the front desk welcome to the therapists who worked as a team to help me meet my goal of pain free movement, I have only positive things to say about the Alliance staff at the Washington Circle office. I am inspired by their commitment to quality care and personable service to all patients. I highly recommend this PT practice.

George Lewis: Bianca and team worked with me for many months to rehabilitate my shoulder after a broken collar bone injury. The team was excellent and provided many tools and exercises to help me return my shoulder to a normal level of activity. I really appreciate their patience and perseverance.

Sean Brosnan: If you are ever in need of physical therapy, I would strongly urge you to consider going to Alliance Physical Therapy at Washington Circle. I attended this location for over a year and a half due to a severe accident that required a lengthy and painful healing process. The staff were upfront and honest with me from the first days and incredibly knowledgeable and friendly throughout the healing process. The therapists and aides are all caring, attentive, and, in my opinion, quite funny (though I wouldn't recommend encouraging Andrew or Marc). Though I was happy to have been rehabilitated, I can honestly say that I was more than a little disappointed that I wasn't going to be able to see the wonderful staff at Alliance anymore. If you should need Physical Therapy for whatever reason, I cannot recommend Alliance Physical Therapy enough.

Jameson: The whole team at Alliance PT is very friendly and that helps make rehabbing a thing to look forward to during the week. My personal experience is mostly with Bianca Bass, who has done a tremendous job helping me work on two sports injuries that remained unsolved by a handful of other people I had seen during college. Bianca's determination and knowledge is truly impressive, and I couldn't imagine seeing anyone else for a sports injury.

Big League Performance and Rehab: what do users think?

Bill Brady: My 13-year old- son was experiencing a sore pitching elbow after the Fall season. He took the Winter off and once Spring came around he still complained that his elbow was hurting. After his MD/orthopedic guy recommend he play another position and pretty much washed his hands of my Son’s injury, His coaches recommended that we see Mike. In the interim between scheduling an appointment and seeing Mike, my Son fractured his right wrist. So long story short, Mike was able to guide my son through a rehab process for a bad elbow and a broken wrist. The physical rehab was great but more importantly, he gave my son the mental reassurance that he would heel and be able to pitch again. He also worked with his coaches and charted his progress and recommended throwing programs and pitch counts. Also along the way he gave my Son strengthening exercises; helped him with nutrition and sleep recommendations that a teenager would actually listen to and put into practice. The banter between, my Son, Mike, and I during the session has been priceless. From baseball to other sports, to school, restaurants, and life in general, it’s been a hoot. Going into the whole rehab process my Son was about as down as he could be, literally worrying that he would never play again, mind you, he was 13! Well, he’s back, confident, much stronger, pitching great, and taking care of his body throughout the week and not just on game day. We couldn’t be happier and we’ll recommend Dr. Mike to anybody that will listen!! Bill
Response: Thanks for the kind review Bill! It's been our pleasure working with your family and happy that he's back on the mound ready for a great 2022!

Britney Jones: I am so happy I have been able to work with Dr Mike and Dr Kennedy. Both are extremely knowledgeable and meet you right where you are. They take your goals into consideration and are very good at creating individual programs catered to you. I didn’t want to have to stop doing my other workouts but my shoulder needed some serious help. They were able to get me moving better in the first session and from there I’ve been making great progress and feel zero pain when using my shoulder in my workouts.
Response: Thanks Brit for the kind words! We love the energy you bring to each session, and it's been great seeing your progress!

Victor Tommey: I couldn’t get through a mile jog without pulsating lower back pain, or do any kind of squats without knee pain. So naturally I tried to do what I could on my own. Then the stars align and I was able to work with the Doctors at Big League! Now I am so much better and both my back and knees have NEVER been stronger!
Response: Thanks for the kind words Victor. it's been great working with you and seeing your progress! We always say, Teamwork makes the Dream work! it's important to have game plan too achieve your goals!

Virginia Goode: My experience at Big League has been nothing short of transformative. I was dealing with intense sciatica pain to the point my doctor was recommending looking into surgery. I decided to give physical therapy a shot with no expectations. After working with my therapist for a few weeks; my sciatica pain was reduced to almost no pain at all. The staff and facilities at Big League are top notch. I would highly recommend their services to anyone!
Response: Thank you so much for the review Virginia! It's been great working with you and thank you for trusting us with your health!

Abigail Wesley: I’ve been seeing the team at Big League for a knee issue since March 2022 and I have nothing but positive things to say! The trainers are well informed and keep the sessions fun, interactive, and challenging. The new location is spacious, well equipped, clean, and a great complement to the practice. Highly recommend for all of your PT needs!
Response: Thanks Abby for the kind words! it's been great seeing your progress over the past several months and look forward to seeing you continue to improve!

Mina Roukbi: I have so many amazing things to say about Big League and Dr. Mike! I came in about a year ago with a lot of pain points and zero hope for any of it to get resolved. As a fitness professional, it is important for me to stay active and also for my sanity. Mike helped me regain faith in my body and what it can accomplish. He has does a great job educating me because I’m always asking a million questions. He taught me a lot about pain and how it’s different for everyone as well as debunking a lot of fitness myths. I look forward to every session knowing that I am in the best hands, and always walk out learning something new! I cannot recommend Big League enough!!!! I am now moving pain free thanks to Mike!
Response: Thanks for the kind words Mina! Its been great working with and we're so pumped to see the progress you've made in the past year!

Elise Ozarowski: When I ended up with a foot injury from running, my podiatrist told me it would take me months to build back up to running a mile or two in one go. The team at Big League had me running a 5k within 5 weeks. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Everyone is kind, and you don't have to be a professional athlete to come here. Whatever your reasons are, your PT will honor them with the same level of care. It's been super easy to work around my busy schedule, too.
Response: Thanks for the kinds words and trusting us with your health Elise! At Big League our motto is "If you have a body, your an athlete." We want everyone to feel special here no matter what your level of activity, strength, or skill is!

Andres Virgen: I'm so happy I came to Big League Performance! I had months of terrible shoulder and elbow pain that would not get any better, enter Big Leauge. Shout out to Dr. Kennedy who I worked with. Dr. Kennedy is very knowledgeable, he was able to explain to me what was going on with my shoulder and elbow and the possible reasons behind it. You can tell everyone at big league cares about their clients and want them to get better. With Dr. Kennedy's help, I was able to strengthen my shoulder back to health to get back to enjoying the workouts I enjoy. 10/10 would recommend anyone coming here, especially if you are an active person dealing with nagging injuries.
Response: Thanks for the great review Andres! It's been great working with you!

Betsy Goldemen: The team at Big League has been extremely helpful as I build back strength and mobility following a hip operation. As an avid former runner, rower, and lifter, I chose to work with Big League because I appreciate that their focus is on the full body functionality I am going to need to return to my sports without reinjury in the long term. I've found Big League to be extremely responsive to my individual goals and knowledgeable of my surgery. I'm so glad they've been there to help me progress in my recovery.
Response: Thanks so much for the review, it’s been great working with you!

Sarah Marsh: I cannot recommend Big League Performance, Dr. Kennedy, and Victor more highly. I was experiencing debilitating pain from a labral tear in my hip. Victor got me in for an appointment ASAP and expertly handled the insurance and financial dance. Dr. Kennedy dedicated an hour to listening to me and working with me to sort out what ailed me, and find a way forward. He is kind, serious, extremely knowledgeable and—during the session—I never felt self-conscious about the fact that I’m out of shape since the pandemic upended my fitness program pretty completely. I wanted to blame myself (for my lack of mobility in that hip) and catastrophize (about how far gone my flexibility is)—but Dr. Kennedy just encouraged me by helping me to see that every weakness, every twinge, every limited movement was information that was going to help us figure things out. On the day after my first session, I got out of bed for the first time in 18 months without limping, and without popping or snapping in my hip. I can’t wait to keep working on getting my mobility and quality of life back. Check this place out; it’s excellent.
Response: Sarah, Thank you so much for this amazing review. We truly appreciate you trusting us with your health and can't wait to see what you're able to achieve!

Pain & Rehab Center: what do users think?

Cj Mervilus: I had strained my left lumbar muscle and had came to Dr. Nesly, the staff is amazing and great at there job. They treat well and get you back to 100% in no time. I'm feeling better then I have in the past 2 weeks before coming to pain & rehab. The masseuse is great really loosens up the tight muscles, the physical therapist is great as well he's helped me in my recovery in a great way, and lastly Dr. Nesly is great, he knows what he's talking about and runs a great staff. I highly recommend coming here for treatment 5 stars no question.

FINITTA BONEY: I was in a Accident on March 10, 2016 and was referred here by my lawyer for a same day appointment. When I first arrived I was welcomed by the most friendly staff I've seen in a long time. The office was clean and neat, the doctor took his time and explained all the services I would be receiving due to my neck and back injury. I would definitely recommend their office to my friends and family!!! Keep up the excellent work!

Tierra V: I recently had work done at the Southeast DC office after a car accident. My experience was great because they have late hours which works with my work schedule. The office staff is very nice and Dr. Clerge is very understanding and makes sure that he takes care of your needs.

Ciara Hosein: I currently serve as the Business Partnership Liaison for SOME Center For Employment Training. Over the past six months I have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Clerge; and his staff as an Externship provider for our Medical Administrative Assistant program. It is with no reservation I must say that Dr. Clerge is an excellent Chiropractor with a superior level of knowledge, and expertise in his field. From day one our students have been able to come into his office and readily adapt to the environment. In retrospect of there coarse work; Dr. Clerge and his staff was able to commit to a training that has challenged, and rather helped our students to grow both educationally and professionally in medical front office procedures. Both Dr. Clerge and his staff have always displayed great customer service with a high level since of urgency to assist all patients, and patrons upon there arrival at the office. My students, and I have been well pleased with the experience and the dedicated staff at DC Pain & Rehab. I would highly recommend the utilization of services from this office, and other presiding offices as well.

LINDA GUY: I was suffering from chronic pain in my neck and shoulders. I had tried over the counter pain relievers, warm compresses and massage therapy but the relief was only temporary. I was referred to Pain and Rehab center in DC to try chiropractic work. I was assessed by Dr. Clerge who recommended a treatment plan consisting of spinal adjustments, physical therapy and dry needling. I had never heard of dry needling but he informed me that it is a type of acupuncture that specifically treats muscle pain and tension. I have to admit I was a little hesitant about having needles stuck in my neck but to my amazement it didn't hurt much at all. After a few sessions of dry needling with Dr. Jang in combination with spinal alignment from Dr. Clerge I finally started to feel some relief that lasted more than just a few hours. I noticed an increased range of motion in my neck. Previously I was unable to look over my shoulder because of all the muscle tension but now that it has relaxed some I can look farther to the left and right. That helps me keep a better eye on my busy grandson. Living with chronic pain is a miserable feeling and for the first time I have hope of living a pain free life again. I am so thankful for the help and expertise of Dr. Clerge and Dr. Jang.

Johnny Javani: I got referred here by my accident lawyer. Everyone on their staff is so nice and always greets you with a smile :) One thing I especially like is that you dont have to make an appt, you just come in. And I always get called back within 1-5 minutes, if not immediately! Dr. Nesly Clerge and Kejuan Johnson (Massage Therapist) are so awesome at what they do. I would recommend to anyone who needs their services! -J. Peterson

Jakiya Terrell: The service and staff at the Pain and Rehab Center is unparalleled. They were always empathetic to my situation and made sure I was taken care of. Dr. Clergy was very knowledgeable and friendly. Even the ambience of the office was welcoming and you didn’t mind being there.

Serge Eygenson: I came here to get a DOT Physical. The doctor opened his office early so we could find a time that worked for my schedule. The office is a bit cramped and the doctor took calls twice during the physical, but overall the process was fairly efficient and both the doctor and his staff were friendly and flexible. It was odd that they did not accept cards and required me to pay cash for the physical, but I would recommend this place to others who need a physical done.

moon kum Seo: Dr Clerge is a very humble and friendly doctor. He took a good care of me and provided excellent medical service i needed. I highly recommend him.

teresa baker: I visited Dr.Nesly office after experiencing pain in my hands and feet for years due to heavy typing and standing for long periods of time. My pain level has decreased tremendously I am now back to actually wearing heels! So thank you Dr. Nesly

Naomi Morin: Love this place. Its very clean, and every there is very professional and kind. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the front desk by first name which is very welcoming. The people there are patient with my process as I continue to heal. Would definitely recommend for anyone who needs PT

Rabbi Devorah Lynn: The care begins at the door. Selena and Alysia are there to help me through forms, doctors and arranging appointments. Always calling me to see if i can take a more convenient appointment that frees up. Very supportive admin staff. Todd and Jared are amazing. Caring, knowledgable, sensitive and push just enough to challenge me, explaining where the edge is. Never rushed, never overcrowded. They show no sign of agism using all manner of innovative techniques to get me healed and back to what i love doing. That’s the goal! Thanks a million to NRH Chevy Chase.

Gurushri Swamy: What I really liked about the NRH at aChevy Chase was the way Cody dealt with my special problem — cervical dystonia. After listening carefully to my description of how the dystonia was affecting my life, he quie honestly said he was not trained to deal with Dystonia, he was an orthopedic therapist and what he could offer me was strengthening exercises, and we started with those. Further, and this is what I truly appreciate is that he looked into the NRH directory and identified a RPT who deals with movement disorders, talked to her and put me in touch with her. As a result, I have found the right kind of therapist for my problem. Thank you Cody
Response: Gurushri, thank you so much for your kind words. We are delighted to hear that Cody was able to help connect you with the care the right therapist. He is wonderful! We will surely share your kind words with him. It's always our pleasure to do all we can to set our patients up for success in reaching their physical therapy goals. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. We wish you the very best!

David Remes: The facility is spacious and has great light (and great views), and the therapist I landed is first-rate. The facility is also conveniently located for me: a 20-minute drive from home.
Response: David, thank you for your 5-star review and feedback. It's wonderful to hear that you had a positive experience with us thanks to our facility and team. It's always our pleasure to do everything we can to set our patients up for success in reaching their goals. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health!

Esther TAYLOR -NAVEJAR: I’m so happy to work with Thao T Nguyen and the Team at MedStar Health, they are so kind and nice .Ms. Nguyen is the Best . She is always asking how you feeling . Love there . There so professional . I’m loved there !! Highly recommend.
Response: Thank you, Esther! We're delighted to hear that you received 5-star care from Thao and our team. She is great! We will surely share your kind words so that she can be recognized for her outstanding care and service to you. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. We're happy to have you as a patient!

Warren Poland: I have had the regrettable need to have physical therapy a few times in my now elderly life. My experience with NRH Rehab at Chevy Chase - North and with the therapist, Todd Wheeler, has been outstandingly thoughtful in individualizing the specific exercises I needed, in making clear by demonstration, paper description, and email video the precise ways the exercises are to be done. Very individualized and very helpful.
Response: Thank you, Warren! We're very happy to hear that you're so pleased with the individualized care you've received from Todd. He is great! We will surely share your kind words so that he can be recognized for his outstanding care and service to you. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. We wish you the best!

Randy Miller: I've worked with two different physical therapists at NRH and they both are excellent. They know what they are doing and have a plan, but they also listen and modify what they are doing based on your needs. They also are very nice people. I recommend them enthusiastically.
Response: Thank you, Randy, for your five star review and recommendation. We're glad to hear that you have received outstanding care that's customized to help you reach your physical therapy goals. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. We wish you the best!

Emily Pleasant: I am thrilled that Jared Miller at the NHR Rehabilitation Center at Chevy Chase, Maryland, is willing to work with me. He is obviously a very knowledgeable , highly trained and capable therapist. In just a few sessions he pinpointed the cause of my pain, tailored an individualized exercise program to improve my movement and function, and addressed my balance issues. Jared clearly explained the exercises and how they relate to my balance issues. The video based exercise program that Jared sends to me, helps me remember how to perform each exercise correctly, and reminds me to stay on track. The program makes it simple to communicate with Jared in between visits, and ultimately helps me to comply with my routines. The staff at Chevy Chase North is exceptional. Selena and others at the front desk are friendly, conscientious, and knowledgable. They have done an incredible job with scheduling and maintaining a safe office.
Response: Emily, thank you so much for your five star review and kind words about our team, including Jared and Selena. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful team serving our patients. We will surely share your compliments so that they can be recognized for their great care and service to you. It's our pleasure to do all we can to set you up for success based on your unique physical therapy goals. Thank you for choosing us for your care. Keep up the great work!

Steve Foote: I've had a great physical therapy experience at NRH Rehabilitation Network at Chevy Chase (North). I'm going there because I'm post-surgical for a ruptured achilles tendon. My therapist (Fumie) is always professional, knowledgeable, and communicative. He listens carefully to my input and responds thoughtfully. My impression is that this standard of care is maintained by other the therapists at the facility. I heartily recommend this well equipped, professionally staffed, efficiently run facility.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review, Steve. We are thrilled to hear that your experience with us has been top notch, and we will share your comments with Fumie and the team. Thank you for choosing us for your physical therapy needs. Keep up the great work!

Washington Physio DC LLC: what do users think?

Brett B: I cannot stress enough how great the therapists at PhysioDC are! Dan was especially awesome and I highly recommend him and the rest of his team to anyone in need of physical therapy. They genuinely care about getting you back on your feet / in the swing of things (depending on your injury!) in a safe yet efficient manner. Do yourself a favor and go here!

Daniel Pedersen: I've been working with this practice for over 3 years, and every time I injure myself they are there to fix me up! All of them are top physical therapy professionals who know their stuff, care about you and will get you back on your game again. They take the time to listen and to explain - they each have their specialties but I would fully trust any of them. The office administration is well run, location is convenient - they are the best!

ES295: Professionals who actually care about your recovery. I was very nervous that I’d never have full capability after Achilles heel surgery. Josh Ripp worked with me and I’m back 100%. Not all therapy practices are alike- despite what my surgeon said. Some just check the boxes and you’re just another lump of meat with a co pay. PhysioDC takes the time to listen and care unlike any others. Full credit to Josh and company for my recovery.

J Rose: They get you in for your appointment within 5-10 minutes if arriving. The therapists here are very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to the patients. The facility has decent space. Based on my 2 visits this far, there are usually anywhere from 4-7 patients in at once, but I never feel like it's cramped or crowded.

Janaye Dzikewich: A genuinely caring group of physical therapists is hard to find in this city. Each staff member at Physiodc is professional, honest and takes your recovery to heart. I leave each treatment feeling as if I am apart of team - not just a patient with a billing code.

James Schafer: This is by far the best Physical Therapy group I have found around the city. The therapists are top notch and you receive 1st class treatment. No techs, interns, noobs; you get a great, real life PT for a full session. I have rehabbed a serious spinal injury here and have nothing but great things to say about the administration and therapists. Just let them know what type of injury you are working with and they will find the right therapist for your needs. A++

CM F.: Reception desk is friendly, my Therapist Ashley is pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable. I love her designed home practice schedule and it's easy to set continuous following appointments with her.

Sarah Mitwala: Was referred here for dry needling. Very painful process which I wasn’t prepared for initially, but it has made a pretty big difference for my lower back issues. Definitely not for everyone. I’ve also seen Daniel for regular PT and strengthening exercises and would recommend seeing him if you go with this practice.

Alan Fields: Friendly ,competent and professional and they utilize the full time. I have had PT services in the past that would cut corners on time.

Jeffrey Hauser: I have had a tremendous experience with Chris and the entire practice seems very well run. Diagnosed and attacked my weaknesses with clinical precision.

Active Physical Therapy: what do users think?

Brian Clark: Active Physical Therapy staff (front desk and therapists) were all friendly, flexible and accommodating. I had no trouble scheduling appointments and making changes as needed. Therapy session were well organized and the therapists were helpful in directing me through the exercises. Including the home exercises, I had a clear improvement in less pain and increased mobility after my shoulder injury. The facility was inviting and staff took extra effort to keep all the equipment and tables disinfected. My wife recommended the office to me after she had an injury. I would recommend the practice to family and friends.

The woman at the front Evelyn is very welcoming and knowledgeable. The whole therapy team is just Fantastic from giving the correct exercises to get you where you need to be or even just motivating you, they take whatever pain you maybe experiencing seriously. This is the place to be thank you for all your help.

Evelio Rodriguez: This place is great! I have been attending active the Active Physical Therapy Brookland location for about 3 months now. I initially came for an evaluation and was scheduled to start therapy at another location. I loved the vibe so much I couldn’t leave. Every day I walk in Evelyn or whoever is at the front desk greets me with a smile and great energy! When I need documents emailed or any type of urgent correspondence done, I can count on them to do it promptly. The therapy staff is just as exceptional! I mostly worked with Cyrus, Caylah and Michael but have worked with the whole staff at some point. They have a great bedside manner and way of explaining things. They broke down my injury and developed a plan to get me back to where I want to be in life and work. I began in regular therapy and then started a work hardening program with David where I simulate my job duties with lighter weights. It has been tough but I feel like it has ultimately been for the better. The impact my injury has had on me and my finances has been stressful. I am thankful this has been a easy and comforting process. I would recommend this location without question!

flanders sharp: Staff is super helpful! Evelynn and Roxy at the front are awesome! They welcomed me and made me feel at ease. David was patient when explaining exercises. All around great experience!!

I not only improved and strengthened my physical limitations, I also overcame my mental anxiety which contribute significantly to my physical mobility. Thank you Active Physical Therapy for everything that you do!!!

Fort Washington Health Center: what do users think?

T Washington: To: Rosalind Stokes and The Fort Washington Health Center My family and I can not thank you enough for the care, support, and understanding your facility provided for my mom and my family. From the moment my mother entered your health center it was wonderful. Thank you, to the nurses and staff members who took numerous of calls from my family. Everyone was so willing to provide us with updates and would even let us know my mom wasn’t having a good day. Not to mention that window room we could not ask for anything better. We enjoyed the staff as you would stay in the room as we prayed and sang to our mom and grandma. I give a special thank you to the staff members who did not tell me to stop singing because I wasn’t a singer. My mom even told me one day to stop that noise. LOL. Keep doing what you do for your patients. Thanks again, for the awesome experience at The Fort Washington Health Center. May God continue to keep and Bless everyone of you. Sincerely, Betty Walker’s Family

Marz Salazar: Don't take your loved ones here!!! My dad was taken here for rehab from the hospital he was at and this rehab center did a very poor job communicating with the family and taking care of my dad. We were informed no visitors were allowed due to Covid quarantine of the patient and they sounded annoyed at times when we would call them for my dad's status. My dad would tell us he wants to go home over the phone because noone was helping him and it takes the staff a long time to answer his calls!! He was practically paralyzed. He said he fell off the bed twice and NOONE came in to help him right away. He said he waited so long for help even after screaming and pushing the call button so many times!!!! Then they called us one day and told us my dad was being rushed to the hospital because he was lethargic and unresponsive! He went to the hospital and they found out he had pneumonia and had to be put on the ventilator. He passed after about a week at the hospital. Now I'm wondering if the rehab was attentive enough to give my dad all his medication, did they help feed him? Did they check up on him often enough to see if he was ok? How many times did his help call go unanswered? I'm so angry with this facility so please if you want your loved ones to be well looked after, find another place. DO NOT take them here!

Imhotep Yakub: This hospital is absolutely horrible. They traumatized my 90 year old grandmother who was admitted here due to testing positive for Covid-19. They kept her isolated which I completely understand, but I have no doubt the amount of attention she received was few and far between. My reasons and proof for why they traumatized her were made clear when my grandmother got back home from the hospital. I would call multiple times a day asking to speak to the nurse practitioner to get an update on my grandmother and either the nurse practitioner was busy on the floor, hasn't arrived yet or she's not answering to pages. After days of not being able to get any updates eventually someone called me at 9:30pm to tell me that "your grandmother is doing fine". That was pretty much it. They don't volunteer any details at this hospital so unless you know what to ask don't expect to be in the know about how your loved one is doing. I would send emails politely asking questions and they rarely got answered. The only time they were answering my emails is at the beginning when they needed me to sign all the paperwork. I was told I could visit my grandmother in person by the activities coordinator and then when we arrive they tell us we can only Facetime her. Here are some suggestions for this hospital: 1. Communicate to the family of the patient exactly what level of communication they can expect. Make it clear that you can't keep up because of Covid-19 if that's the case. 2. If a nurse makes the rounds daily why not send a quick blurb even a text message or email to the family about how the patient is doing? 3.If you have a patient in Covid isolation I think the family deserves to know exactly what is going to happen, it's not a normal situation. 4. Have an assistant or someone who's sole job it is to communicate information between the nurses/doctors and the family of the patient if the nurses and doctors are always so busy. 5. Don't release a covid-19 patient without making it clear that you didn't test the patient for covid-19. The bottom line is that we as African Americans should question all the services that we get and start to realize that many of these companies in our communities don't give a damn about us. We receive such a poor level of service and I think we are used to it. I'm not. I will make sure I look at hospitals NOT in my neighborhood next time, they don't deserve your trust and especially your money.

An X: I would give this place 0 stars if I could. My elderly father caught covid here after transferring to recover from a minor surgery. He went from walking enough to return home in a week to an unresponsive coma. The last time I was able to speak to him, he told me that some of his caretakers were rough with him by yanking him around. I wish I had sent my dad anywhere else. I'm pretty sure he'd still be alive today. I'm not interested in a canned "SoRrY uR uNhApPy" message from the facility so don't bother. The care was substandard and ya'll knew it. You did not do your best for my dad and you ultimately failed him as a elder from the community. I will never forget, I will never heal and I do not forgive this place for anything. Put that on the books.

Darlene Brown: I will say try to visit your love one everyday, keep track of there medication intake because some can come up missing along with there clothes. Some of their nurses are very good at what they do and you have some who just know enough to get by. I will keep everyone in prayer and hope that they make it out there in better health.
Response: Hi Darlene, We’re sorry to hear about this experience at Fort Washington Health Center and want to address these concerns as soon as possible. Patient care is our top priority. Please call us at (301) 292-0300 at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

A Gillis: This is my Second time here at Fort Washington rehab and once again everything was great. From my doctors on down to the all the staff. My GNA's in the morning and 3-11 shift have become my second family. Recreational department is really on top of there Game. The care that they give to The patient is great. We went on field trips , play bingo, have cooking class and have arts and crafts. I'm really going to miss them. And let me not forget Maintenance department. Mr Hunter and crew are about there work. One day he stayed all night after a storm knocked out the lights. But he and his team got together and fix the problem before they went home. Last to say The therapy department is on top of the game make you feel right at home while getting better😍much love always.

Jackie K: This place is getting worse new staff don't no the resident will leave them on there own not aware of how they take medication. They are unstaff on the weekend and the gna do not check on resident on a regular. The food is terrible food is under cook. Then breakfast this Sunday at least for my parent was one egg one piece of toast cut in half. Remind you dinner saturday was 5.00pm weekend no one at nursing station. I will miss Ms evita. There are two Gna on the first floor they give there all and some. This place has to change
Response: Hi Jackie, thank you for your honest feedback and for sharing your experiences with us. We value your feedback and use it to help make our facility better. If willing, please call the facility at 301-292-0300 so that we can learn more about your experience. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

YVONNE MASON: This place as I walked in I could tear everyone care about their customer just all smiles on everyone's face made me feel like I was special how they took care of me each and everyone no complaints and I appreciate to one and all thank you beautiful ladies and gentlemen thanks for the kind heart l much love thank you all

Carolyn Jackson: Awful! Unprofessional staff, rude, lack of compassion, and just a general dereliction of duty. Whether in person or over the phone there seems to be no accountsbility. Many times I have witnessed the patients unattended in the lunchroom. The odors in this place shows that improper changing and timely changing of patients is no a priority. The food is prepared on the basement level by the time it reaches the third floor its cold. Activities and field trips are limited. When you have an issue they band together for a cover up. This is a hell hole.
Response: Hi Carolyn, Thank you for your honest feedback. I am sorry to hear about your experience at Fort Washington Health Center. Please know this is not the standard of care our patients and families have come to expect from us. Will you please call 301-292-0300 so we can learn more about your experience? Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Foster Butler: The nursing is terrible, my mother now has bed sores and had someone else's name tag on. The director is horrible and the staff has lost many personal articles such as dentures, eye glasses and clothing. If it wasn't for the state mandating that she needs 24 hour care she would never be in that dungeon !!!!!!

Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation: what do users think?

Elizabeth Hwang: Amazing staff! The facility is a bit dated but the therapists take their time, get to know you and really care about your recovery. I wouldn't be back to exercising and all my usual activities without them!

Kim Barnes-Rodriguez: AMEN 🙏❤️WELLNESS IS ALWAYS RECEIVED IN JESUS CHRISTHOPE A GOOD VISIT AND RESTORATIVE HEALTH, KIMMIE AND ALL IN JESUS CHRIST NAME, AMEN 🙏

Michael Harrison: Wonderful staff loving encouraging professional, attentive. All good things

Alexis Yanes: (Translated by Google) The dental clinic inside the building is very small and they don't have the tools for x-rays. They did not do an "x-ray" with a machine that I was not convinced and they did not give me a written detail of what I need to repair in my teeth.

Rose Physical Therapy Group: what do users think?

Kate Jaffee: Janvi is amazing! I had a baby 3 months ago and I have been seeing her for pelvic floor physical therapy. She has helped guide me through exercises to help me regain strength and confidence, while reducing lingering pain. She's great at helping set goals and most importantly, she's fun to be around! Absolutely recommend Rose's.
Response: Thanks, Kate!

Alex Lintz: Thomas was really great! I've been to physiotherapists before and had mixed results over long periods. After going to Thomas and doing the exercises he recommended for a few weeks I'm ~90% back to normal! Highly recommended

Aysha Suzuki: I went to Rose PT as I had a lot of TMJ problems and I was looking to try dry needling as a possible solution. Claire is such an expert and it was extremely enlightening all that I learnt about the jaw and how it moves. She gave me really helpful exercises to do at home and she is able to dry needle very complex areas in the jaw that provided tremendous relief. It was really life-changing, I live in London but I plan to visit every time I am in DC!

Joe Shields: Thomas Rados was amazing! I had a bike accident resulting in a severe AC joint separation. I decided to go without surgery and Thomas did an amazing job to help get me back swimming again in 6 weeks. He was thoughtful about the sessions, willing to push me to recover faster, and gave a lot of good instruction to keep up PT out the office. 5 out of 5 would 100% recommend!
Response: Really appreciate it, Joe! Glad you are on the mend.

Heewon Kim: I had five sessions with Thomas for a tweaky shoulder, with pain during everyday activities like reaching up and driving. Within a couple of sessions Thomas was able to resolve the everyday pain. After the fifth session I'm pretty much back to normal, with full range of motion without pain. He focused a lot on massage that loosened up the muscles to help with pain, and gave me at-home exercises that were easy to do at the gym. The best thing about this practice is that you get a therapist who focuses on you for the entire hour, unlike some other practices where the therapist is bouncing around between three or four patients the entire time. The facilities are nicely updated and clean as well.

Elena Primes: Rose PT is great, I can't say enough good things! Claire is an expert therapist with extensive knowledge in TMJ problems.

Lucy Hoagland: My experience with Rose Physical Therapy Group was great. It was easy to get in for an appointment right away and I appreciated that they booked out several sessions for me so that I had a consistent day and time for therapy. Thomas was an excellent physical therapist to work with. The exercises he provided were really tailored to my injury and strengthening goals. He also held me accountable for doing my at-home exercises which is what I needed!

James Perea: I can't say enough good things about Rose PT. I started coming here in February 2020 following a meniscus surgery. I dropped off during the pandemic and returned in December after a running injury. Working with Thomas, I've had six weeks of massage, dry needling, and strengthening. I am now stronger than before and starting to run again. More importantly, Thomas has been encouraging from the start. I have been excited for each visit and always left feeling encouraged by the progress. I would recommend Rose PT and Thomas to anyone seeking rehabilitation or even just seeking improvement on problem areas.

David Kanstoroom: Claire Bowe is amazing!! I came to her suffering from years of lower back pain. She arranged a program for me that included dry needling, stretches and strengthing that was adjusted weekly, and within 10 weeks I was pain free. Highly reccomend Rose PT!

Andrew Rygiel: Rose Physical Therapy Group is an amazing place. To start, the administrative staff was friendly and quick to respond. The facility was very clean and has implemented many COVID-19 procedures to make you feel safe. I would highly recommend Thomas Rados as your physical therapist. He helped me overcome muscle issues with my hands. Not only was he able to help during our sessions with stretches, exercises, massages, and dry needling but also provided clear instructions for at home exercises. Thomas was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.

Second, Dr. Drummond was incredibly helpful. Beyond being kind and thoughtful, she has amazing tact. I came in with lower back pain, and her attention and help has really helped. I highly recommend the practice.

Jaclyn Palmer: Subha Nagasubramanian has been amazing helping me heal from two major orthopedic surgeries. Every time I come for a session, she is able to make even the smallest adjustment that makes the biggest difference in my gait and getting my independence back. She listens to all my concerns and gives me helpful solutions. I have gone to physical therapy many times throughout my life and have never had someone as knowledgeable and precise as Subha. After a lifetime of pain, it can me hard to not get discouraged, but Subha always lends an ear and gives really beneficial encouragement and perspective. I am really grateful I chose Capitol PT for physical therapy and I highly recommend them to anyone!

Jonathan Magin: I saw Dr. Subha for help with my upper back. She was a fantastic therapist, listening to my concerns, determining what the problem was, outlining a clear plan for treatment, and explaining exactly how to perform each exercise. It didn't take long before I could see signs of improvement; with every visit, I felt better and better. After finishing treatment, I feel like myself again. 5 stars isn't high enough of a rating. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Subha and Capitol Physical Therapy.

Kailash Pant: Maya Drummond is one of the great physiotherapist I met recently for my lower back pain. She is knowledgeable, experienced, honest, and kind. She restored my lower back from all pain and restricted movements in just few sittings. She taught me how to work while getting on bed, coming out of bed, and some exercises. Honestly, she is a miracle worker. I would return to her whenever I might need physical therapy. I recommend her highly.

Talla Davis: Dr. Maya Drummond is an amazing physician. She taught me many exercises that has helped with my recovery. Her persona is always professional and caring. The staff at Capitol Physical Therapy is always helpful and friendly. I recommend this facility to everyone in need of PT services.

Amina Ait-Bella: Valerie helped me get through a marathon training cycle and prevented/mitigated a recurring hip injury. She introduced new exercises in a way that made it manageable to add to my routine, and that i would actually be motivated to do the work without getting overwhelmed. there is a noticeable improvement in my form from just 4 months of work, and i can't wait to see more improvements going forward with the tools she gave me.

Kirsten S: Subbha is amazing! For the second time after a fall, I couldn't kneel without tears and had patellar instability from a partial tear that was painful/swollen to the touch. Went to see Subbha in Feb 2022 b/c not being able to kneel was upending my life, especially mat Pilates practice. Saw Subbha twice a week and by early April, I was cautiously kneeling and my knee was no longer painful to the touch. By the end of April I "graduated" and am spending five hours gardening with knee pads and no pain. Subbha is a master physical therapist and a kind/understanding practitioner.

Bill Cahill: Wonderful, positive, supportive team that really listens and helped me meet my goals. Valerie is fantastic and did an excellent job diagnosing the root causes of my pain and helping me get better. Absolutely recommended!
