Cozymeal Cooking Classes: what do users think?

Valerie Damond: Last night twelve members of my family experienced a truly remarkable Spanish dinner. Chef Greg presented us with a very relaxing and utterly delicious meal. Every course was beautifully displayed and clearly constructed with the best ingredients. He and his helper served us and left the kitchen immaculate. If you would like to experience an expertly crafted Spanish cuisine, I highly recommend Chef Greg.

D H: I had my Cozymeal event today. I have never participated in an online cooking class before, and I must say it was great! My daughter and I took the class making the Chinese dumplings with Chef Li. Chef Li was great and while making the recipes really gave good information on the Chinese culture and the different types of substitutions to use in the event you are not able to get a specific ingredient. She made suggestions regarding kitchen utensils and made sure that all of us were on track with her during her instruction. My only difficulty was with the recipes being in grams and not in US measurements. It would be nice to have both listed. I live in a very rural area and this option of online cooking classes is such a welcome experience. I would definitely take another class!!

Benjamin Bowden: Really enjoyed having Chef Tiffany cook for my girlfriend and me. Great food, great conversation, and a generally excellent evening. One note: she arrived 45 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time, when nobody was home. Her early arrival was a positive, as the meal took a few hours to prepare, but Cozymeal should communicate better with the clients about true arrival time. Bottom line: Tiffany provided an excellent French meal, all cooked from scratch, with fresh ingredients. Moreover, there were leftovers! Really looking forward to my next Cozymeal experience.

Alison Ponzi: We had an evening full of freshly made pasta, bruschetta, and bread pudding with Chef Tiffany. I bought a KitchenAid mixer last year with the pasta attachment, and she was open to teaching me how to use it. She also worked with us on our likes/dislikes allowing us to choose a different appetizer. All in all it was a successful night with great food, company, and conversation.

Grace Morrissey: I loved the class. Chef Li's technique was easy to understand. I just need to practice more. I am making the dumplings again this week. They were delicious. The cabbage salad won a big spot in my heart..., I will make it often. Looking forward to do another class with Chef Li

Steven Sacks: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, ValueMy girlfriend and I took the Festival of Indian Flavor with Chef Manjiri. It was such a wonderful experience - she clearly explained the agenda for the class, told us about herself, explained all the ingredients, and then helped us through all four recipes with both laughter and fun. What a great time!

Theano Kampani: Really enjoyed having Chef Greg cook for my husband and me. Great food, and great conversation! We highly recommend Chef Greg and his Spanish dishes. The star of the menu was the dessert for us :)

Kathleen Norwood: This was a wonderful experience. Chef Gustavo was a delightful host and instructor He shared knife and preparation tips as well as the history of the food. The food was muy rico and we came away with many tips to make prep easier and food tastier for making a yummy paella as well as other dishes. Chef Gustavo created a welcoming, warm and relaxed evening. Thank you, Chef Gutavo!

Jeanne Liu: We took the Festival of Indian Flavors class with Chef Manjiri and it was wonderful! She explained everything and her recipe was fast and not intimidating. What we made was so delicious and I can't wait to try out one of her other classes. Do not hesitate to book one of Chef Manjiri's classes!

Niki Holmes: We had an amazing experience with Chef Judith. Her recipes were easy; we had great company; and the Chef taught us some very useful techniques. --Plus--The food tasted so delicious!

Top Spanish Cafe & Catering: what do users think?

Harsha P.: Spectacular! Amazing experience - while it has the full Andalusian decor, its ambiance may not truly match the great food, and if that's more what you're going for then Jaleo or Xiquet is better. However, the service by Daniel was probably the best in DC with recommendations and pure charm. Drinks are full and flavorful, Gin & Tonics are a must, and croquettes are authentic; seafood Paella is good as well - make sure to save room for dessert and to come back!! Note, items are on the pricer side.
Response: Thank you?

Kelly G: Excellent food. The name is unique, and the interior is homely, but don’t let that fool you. The food is awesome! I got a hanger steak and it was unbelievably tender. The seafood paella was amazing, prolly the best in DC..just like being back in Spain. I’m not surprised because Spaniards work there.. so they have higher standards on paella. The sever was great, very friendly and provided honest and helpful recommendations. I was surprise that the place was not packed given the quality of food and the low prices.... i’m gonna keep going there for sure.
Response: Thank you K, we are glad you enjoyed your meal.

Amy Banas: This is a cute place. The staff was super friendly. All the tapas we had were very yummy and they came out quickly. The only reason it gets four stars instead of five is because something we ate messed up our stomachs big time. It was all very good. We just paid for it later. We had: Tortillas espanolas: I would skip this, the flavor was bland Chicken in green sauce: so good, would definitely get again Spanish cheeses: all the cheese was good as well as the honey they serve on the side The warm bread they give you is very yummy Would definitely try again.
Response: Thank you for your review Amy!

Igor at skvltd.media: Fantastic tapas spot. Paella alone is worth the visit, and owners, chef, and staff are very welcoming and excellent.
Response: Thank you, Igor. We appreciate your review!

vanessa cabrera: Five stars!! 100%. I dont usually post but I am visiting D.C. for the weekend from N.Y. and I must say this is the best Spanish food I have ever had. Dare I say...even better than the cuisine I've had in Europe! I will certainly visit again before we leave.
Response: Thank you, Vanessa. We appreciate your review, we are glad that you had a good experience dining with us. We will be happy see you back.

Roberto Burboa: Great food, great service, beautiful, unpretentious place. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Response: Thank you, Mr. Burboa. Will will be happy to have you back.

Jesus Hector Jimenez: Exceeded expectations. Authentic. Daniel was a great host and very attentive. Croquetas, patatas bravas, aleoli, etc... And.... The gazpacho flavor and texture are delicious. Don't hesitate. You'll enjoy!
Response: Thank you, for the kind review Mr. Jimenez!. We are pleased that our food and service met and surpassed your expectations.

Daniela Ochoa: An authentic local gem worth it of trying. The food is great, but the service is exceptional! Ask for Daniel the soul of the whole place! #spanishgourmet
Response: Thank you, Daniela, we appreciate your review and #.

Brian Dick: Excellent and authentic Spanish food at a reasonable price. We will definitely be returning.

Aman George: This place is the definition of a hidden gem, I think. It's too bad it never looks busy, because it is worth a trip! Some of the best Spanish food I've had in DC. The dishes are very traditional but really fantastic. The Argentine style steak in particular was a revelation. Extraordinarily tender and flavorful, every bite was a dream. I'd say the same about the albondigas (Spanish meatballs), which were wonderfully rich and served atop the creamiest mashed potatoes ever. I'm not generally a huge paella fan but the Paella Valenciana was very good. Rabbit bones were a little painful to maneuver around, and the dish came out screaming hot (probably needed to wait like 10 minutes to be able to comfortably eat it). But otherwise the flavors and ingredients were great. Only thing that was a little disappointing was the wine list; we ordered two different tempranillos by the glass and neither really shone. The wine list itself isn't super long; the food here will be a great comfort to folks in the neighborhood that miss Ruta del Vino but the wine probably won't. That said, the wine is all very reasonably priced, and if you're looking to buy a bottle (or bottles) without breaking the bank, you have a lot of options here. Service was attentive and rightly proud of the place! I look forward to returning soon and sampling the rest of the menu (the lamb was calling to me!) Prices: tapas are in the $10-15 range each, so can add up quickly if you get 2-3 per person (which would be about right for a meal). Entrees are actually fairly reasonable for this type of restaurant ($20-25), even for a steak dish that was large and would probably run closer to $35-40 elsewhere. I think this place stays afloat on the back of a substantial catering business that allows it to keep open this dining room and stay stocked with fresh ingredients. I've never seen it look busy, but really, if you're in the neighborhood, you should give it a shot! It'll be one of the best meals you can have in DC by reliably just walking in.
Response: Thank you for your kind and detailed review, Aman.

Jaleo by José Andrés: what do users think?

Dallaire Family: The Sangria Hour is well worth it, as the cocktails and tapas are well priced. Tapas portions are large and shareable among friends that want to sample a few dishes. Classic flavours and quality you can count on. Dishes are not terribly creative, but the service is quick with minimalist communication.

Ciria Gastélum: Everything about this place screams quality. Food, location, drinks, service and workers. Delightful experience! One of my favorite places. Unbelievable paella! Must try! My husband & I were super happy We found Jaleo in our visit to DC.

Hazel Schifferle: I brought my family here to celebrate my recent birthday. We arrived late in the afternoon and got a great table by the window. They were so kind to my kids and made us all feel welcomed. Our server recommended some things the kids would enjoy and he was right. My husband and I got Jose’s Way and tried all sorts of dishes. We loved them all!

Katie Boldizar: We ordered family style here and easily tried 10 different menu items. Everything was incredible! This will become a staple for me on future DC visits. I wish I would've taken more pictures but we were busy eating. The calamari was probably my favorite dish!

Merissa Pemberton: So glad we tried this restaurant out! Wow!! Tania Fernanda G was such a stellar waitress! She was attentive and was really patient with walking us through the menu. Her professionalism and constant smile on her face was just the kind of dinner atmosphere we were looking for. She also made sure to pace our meal just right and every single dish we ordered was beyond good. There were multiple items I don’t think we would have had the guts to try if it weren’t for her. She deserves both the recognition and raise that is now clearly apparent from our experience. Thank you again Fernanda!!

Vance Van Horn: Tables inside were so close together that you were intimate with your neighbor. Sit outside; tables and service was great.

Robert Cox: Came with my girlfriend to Jaleo and it was really good. First time to a restaurant like this Eduardo enhanced this experience by providing us great recommendations and his great personality. With the great food, great ambiance, and great service from Eduardo, I give this place 5 stars for sure.

michael leathers: Outstanding food and serving staff. Had the Apple and Fennel Salad, the Mini Pork Burger, the Bacon-Wrapped Dates, Goat Cheese Stuffed Peppers and the Cod. Fritters with the Sweet Bay Gin cocktail to wash it down. Everything was absolutely out of this world although the Cod Fritter did not impress me all that much. The Apple Fennel Salad was one of the best salads I ever had in my life- although it looks bland, it is acting packed with sweet, tart, savory and acidic flavors. Only knock I have for this establishment is the hosting/seating staff who didn't do the best job handling a crowd full of line cutters trying to get a seat. Would definitely go back though!

Christina C: We got the brunch experience tasting menu and pitchers of white sangria. The courses were amazing and we left so satisfied and happy! The bar staff were very helpful, fun, and professional. We will be back. I’ll be dreaming of the tuna tartare forever.

Cindy Yang: Brunch is okay. Shrimp is too salty;baked egg claims to have iberico but I can barely see or taste the iberico. It falls under our expectations a bit

Boqueria Dupont: what do users think?

Sean Fields: Started out slow with the service but once our server warmed up, her recommendation were amazing. The potatoes were ok but the broccoli, lamb skewers and octopus were amazing. We ordered 2 more tapas of the lamb and bottomless sangrias. If you like sweet than go for the the white or rose'. The red is solid if you enjoy something more dry. Check out the pics below
Response: Thanks so much! Your review made my day. See you again soon!

Stefan Tobler: Delicious food, comes out fast, great service. The waitress did a great job recommending items to us and the sangria was delicious! Get out there, go for it, try something new. You won’t regret it at Boqueria!

cgdomenech: The wife didn't like it. Meat entrees were better. She found it to oily. Overall I would rate it just fine, with a good service.

Ayman Mobin: Came here for the brunch experience and was overall satisfied. The portions for brunch were rather small. The lamb dish that I got was on a small plate as shown in the photo so I had to order another dish because that was not enough. The lamb dish though was delicious as well as my second order of the French toast. The mimosas and sangria as part of the brunch experience were delightful.
Response: Thank you for the feedback, Ayman. We would love to have you anytime! We offer happy hour everyday from 3 to 6pm!

M. Nuñez: Over the years, I have been in other Boqueria Tapas Bar locations (Brooklyn (now closed) , NYC inside the AC Hotel Times Square and their other DC location) but not to this one. I am a fan of Spanish tapas bars, and I really prefer authenticity to Americanized dishes. Boqueria does not disappoint. As it is my custom, I sat at the bar (they also have a lovely open area outside, but I'm not a fan of roasting in the sun. The service was extremely friendly and easy-going. This was at the end of a Friday lunch time, so the restaurant wasn't particularly full, which was nice. I asked the bartender about Albariño white wines, but they had run out of the half-bottle I wanted, so he recommended a voignier based Catalunian white by the glass , which was excellent. I proceeded to order from the lunch menu a escalivada(a common Spanish roasted pepper salad) which was quite tasty, but a very small portion (maybe a tablesppon?) served with roasted bread; roasted octopus (this was good, but not excellent) accompanied by an amazing roasted broccoli (I asked the chef to substitute the fish's mash potatoes), which was a very good portion size, and "pinchos morunos" (mini lamb skewers) which were, again, quite "mini" but tender and delicious. When I asked for dessert, I was told that besides the churros and flan on the menu, they also had Vasque-style cheesecake! I did a beeline to it: also known as "burnt" cheesecake (I promess, is not!) and it was also delicious! The whole meal was great as a lunch-not-brunch-almost-dinner, the service was super friendly and relaxed. I would have given Boqueria a 5* review if it was not for the very small portion size of three of the four dishes I had. I know that restaurants struggle in the post-pandemic universe, and specially in DC, but portions could be improved.

Chris Harper: Boqueria has the best Paella I've ever had. I lived in the Newark area (there are a ton of Iberians there) and I've been to Spain. I have never been impressed by paella, and have been somewhat of a hater on it. Boqueria changed my mind. We got the large paella. There was enough to give 8 people a spoonful or more. My favorite dish after the paella were the patatas bravas. The Acorn fed ham reminded me of my trip to Barcelona. For the price I wish slices were thicker. The pepper encrusted chicken was really good. We kept reordering the lamb skewers. The shishito peppers could've were grilled a bit more. Our server was really good and handled our table of drinkers well. We were originally there for brunch but because our entire party did not arrive before 3:30 we couldn't get their bottomless drink deal. If youbare in the DC area and looking for aSpanish tapas, I would definitely recommend checking this place out.
Response: It was so thoughtful of you to take the time to share your experience. I will share your kind words with our team. Thank you!

Desiree: What an excellent night we spent here. Found this tapas restaurant by chance over a weekend in D.C. The place was crowded with good vibes and service, try and make an appointment to avoid disappointment. Top notch quality food, the tapas were too small a plate like most tapas places. The paella made our night! We brought a bottle of wine, paid $25 corkage fee which was rather reasonable. Will come back for sure! Small down side was waiter put someone else’s items on our check, so go through that before paying!

Chris Ferrari: This is a difficult review to write, and I had a tough time figuring out how many stars to give it factoring in everything going on with Covid. Food: so exquisite, delicious, and fairly priced. Atmosphere: fun, loud, and hip. We were seated quickly and water came fast. This is where it gets tricky. It took about 25 minutes before we were able to order food. This is completely understandable considering it seemed they were short staffed which seems to be the nature of the times we live in. The noise level is quite loud so understand you won’t be having any intimate conversations here. All in all, Boqueria was a wonderful time and I would definitely come back again, I do just hope that wait staff gets more support in the future.
Response: Hey Chris, thank you for the review and for the honest feedback. I am sorry to hear that your service was lacking, but I appreciate that you are willing to give us another chance! Maggie Elmore General Manager

J C: Food was good. Safe bet to take people who are visiting. Not sure if I would go back again soon. Service was good.

Hong Hanh Dinh: Great place for Spanish tapas! The octopus was great, succulent and soft to eat. The croquettes were delicious! I love the fresh olives. The shrimp was so flavorful and amazing with the bread. I love the sangria. Since they gave us the wrong bill, they have us churros as a freebie as a nice gesture. Overall the quality of food was amazing!

Taberna del Alabardero: what do users think?

Queli: After being disappointed with DC food, we ran into this gem. Not only was food incredibly delicious, the presentation was amazing and portions were great, and the service was phenomenal. Shoutout to Edgar for bringing me a real spicy spice to accompany my delicious food. He understood what Mexicans need :) Thank you to all the Taberna team for being amazing ! PS- I recommend paella and, sausage and blood sausage tapas !
Response: Hi Queli, We're glad you enjoyed your experience with us! we hope to see you again at Taberna del Alabardero! Don't forget we have live flamenco performance every friday and saturday!

Eduardo Sevilla: Old school D.C. restaurant, classic service and ambiance serving fine Spanish cuisine that no longer overwhelms you but will satisfy your Iberian peninsula cravings. Tapas for dinner is the way to go, variety and well executed, albeit small portions. Outstanding wine list, only the very best varietals from all the growing regions in Spain. Grilled Bronzino, Chilean sea bass and grouper specials are highlights. Expensive paella options not my favorite.
Response: Hi Eduardo, We're glad you enjoyed your experience with us! we hope to see you again at Taberna del Alabardero! Don't forget that we're having a special wine tasting dinner on June 23rd. Call us at 202-429-2200 for reservations...

Rachel U: Reservations for Saturday night, we were warmly greeted and seated. Unfortunately due to the busy night, we were only able to order 1 kind of paella for at least 2 people. So we ordered the lamb and cod. Both were yummy. The squid ink sticky rice was so fun. We ended with complimentary pastries. Live band and dancer were the cherry on top! Such a great experience, we will be back.

David Arrimadas: Amazing restaurant. It is a piece of Spain in Washington. The quality of the food is very high same as the professionalism of all the staff. We really felt at home. It was a great experience for our Spanish family that after five months in US is really missing our country delights. Highly recommended if you want to have a good time and food!

Rob A.: We gave this place a try for Restaurant Week. Wonderful decor, complimentary parking in the garage right across the street (after 4PM weekdays and all day on weekends), the food was awesome and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We had the seafood paella and it was excellent. The other dishes coming out of the kitchen looked just as good, and I'm sure they were! Only negative was the fact that my wife and I had to order the same paella since they're made for two. I don't really understand this. What happens if you are dining alone? I don't know.
Response: Hi Rob, We're glad you enjoyed your experience with us! we hope to see you again at Taberna del Alabardero! Don't forget that we extended our Restaurant Week until January 30th

Joshua Russell: Classic DC restaurant that specializes in Spanish cuisine. We were able to get reservations for Sunday night to celebrate a birthday. At time of reservation I mentioned it was birthday celebration. When we arrived, we were greeted quickly and sat. They had a nice, cozy table reserved with a very nice Happy Birthday card written for our special guest! We started out with tortilla de patata, friend manchengo cheese with raspberry sauce and the cherry & mango gazpacho. Everything was superb, the favorite was the cheese with the raspberry sauce. We ordered a chicken and seafood paella to split with everyone. It was spot on with both the texture and taste one would expect from paella. The seafood that came with it were clams, mussels and shrimp. For dessert we ordered the churros with chocolate and the warm cheesecake. Not were very good and just the right size. We were surprised yet again with a very special Happy Birthday plate written in chocolate with some berries, chocolate and cookies. Very good and will look forward to coming back here again soon.
Response: Hi Joshua, We're glad you enjoyed your experience with us! we hope to see you again at Taberna del Alabardero! Don't forget that we're having a special wine tasting dinner on June 23rd. Call us at 202-429-2200 for reservations...

Mark Blanchard: Spain meets Dorothy Draper on the decor, pretty awesome. Food was great, serrano leg sitting in front of you getting sliced. Sadly we got a piece of bone with the serrano. The food was good, and so was the service. We enjoyed the flamenco dance and music around 830pm.

Morgan Niu: I was there for DC restaurant week. They have special menu for us. Food is good but I am a little disappointed. Service is excellent. Live music and dance are impressive. I would like to talk more about the taste of food. I had tuna guacamole tartare, tastes like poke bowl. My husband had blood sausage. Seafood paella is good. Usually it is salty in other restaurant, but not here. However it looks messy in the plate. I shared this paella with my friend. But server didn’t share it equally in out plate. I have more in my plate, it is little awkward. Dessert is caramel flan. Caramel sauce is way too strong. My husband gave it a try, he agreed with me. One drop of the caramel sauce could stay in your mouth for 5 mins. By the end of the dinner. I forget all the taste from previous dish. Only the taste of caramel in my mouth and my brain

Lynelle Nicole: The owners at DCanter Wine Boutique in Capitol Hill recommended this place. It did not disappoint. We had papas bravas, garlic shrimp, and the mixed paella with a bunch of wine. The happy hour section was lively and full of people. The section we were in was quiet and secluded; perfect for a business dinner or confidential conversation. I’d love to come back when they have live music.
Response: Hi Lynelle, We're glad you enjoyed your experience with us! we hope to see you again at Taberna del Alabardero! Don't forget that we're having a special wine tasting dinner on March 24th. Follow the link for more info https://bit.ly/3wJUVDd

Aleyda Villavicencio: We came across this place entirely by luck, but having been in Spain and loving Spanish food like we do, this place didn’t disappoint, and we felt really confident the food had to be good when we walked in and realized many tables were taken by Spanish guests. If you’re in town you have to stop here. Plus they have a lunch menu that’s very affordable!

Boqueria Penn Quarter: what do users think?

Michael Blasingame: I enjoyed this place over all! The tapas selections are great for those who have had the real deal in Spain and everything we plenty filling. I particularly enjoyed the croquetas and the lamb skewers One thing that kept this from a 5 was the lack of 1) A/C — it was unbearably hot where I was sitting which was high key unpleasant and 2) whatever two top is near table 41 next to that giant table in the window…y’all tried to seat it FOUR TIMES before the host finally gave up (including me…I wasn’t going to sit next to a party of 10). Don’t seat it when a party is there.

Zac Fellabaum: Excellent tapas bar. They have a wide variety of tapas and a great wine selection. We opted for the Mediodia, which was a fixed price of $35/pp. That came with an appetizer to share, two tapas selections each, and an order of their amazing churros for dessert. The service was excellent, as was the food. I'd highly recommend checking it out.

Nick Scirico: We wandered in here by chance on a Saturday night after a long day at museums. What a fabulous find, drinks were so so but the food was DELICIOUS. Staff was great, attentive and was able to answer a lot of questions. Amazing place to eat!

Brenna Holmes: Decor is clean and modern and the menu has some interesting dishes. We didn't have a great experience though and don't think we'll be back when DC has so many solid tapas restaurants to choose from. We did the $65 Boqueria Experience tasting menu at the bar and didn't find it all that worth it. Pacing was way off, we hadn't been there an hour and all the dishes, including dessert had been served. The runner kept asking us if things were ours, but since the Experience doesn't have a written menu, we had no idea if they were... The dishes we got were basic tapas, not the classic "and beyond with a selection of seasonal market menu dishes" that this menu teased, it was lots of bread, rice and potatoes. We also only got the Ibérico ham the menu promises after I asked about it when paying the bill. We got it boxed to go. The bartenders were friendly, but again the service was sub-par. We were charged the by the glass price when we told the bartender from the beginning that we wanted to buy a bottle, he pushed the by the glass options by letting us taste first, and the bottle we chose wasn't full, but we were told it was the last one they had, so it was ours. He even told us he was doing us a favor by not charging us by the glass, but the bill stated otherwise... We payed more than the bottle price for less than a full bottle, plus the two glasses of white we started with.

Tan Sav: Stopped here for a few drinks and some tapas on a rainy Saturday. Has an extensive drink menu and delicious tapa. I really enjoyed the cheese and the bar tender was attentive.

Lauren Canaday: So good and beautiful atmosphere. You can be casual or dress up. Loved seeing each dish come out. Didn't get a picture of it, but the broccoli dish was my favorite.

Dhruv Jaiswal: Great brunch menu and amazing food ! The unlimited mimosas was the key for the brunch ! Do try it and have a look at the menu before going limited options for vegetarian and if you don't eat specific meat ! Would recommend the huevos con chorizo.

Tim Smith: The food, service and atmosphere of Boqueria was all fantastic and a perfect destination for brunch. They have a brunch for 2 which included Sangria, a nice breakfast paella and finished off with churros and chocolate, it was delicious. Please note the paella is a lot of food so arrive hungry. Our server was very friendly and made the experience that much better. They have two locations in DC and I went to the one in Penn Quarter and would definitely return.

April Sharp: Let me start off by saying this place truly isn't bad. It's just the seasonings that just aren't for my palate. We had the (in laymen's terms) meat and cheese board, corn, shrimp, octopus, and lamb meatballs. The corn was a little too lime forward, the octopus a little too squishy (I prefer mine crisp), and lamb a little too gamey. However, their staff has been nothing but wonderful. From the hostess to our server they have been truly great. We also got a rose and Jameson and the pours were pretty generous. I'd come back for the staff and drinks. :)

Danny Chong: Had a great Sunday brunch here! Came around noon and wasn’t busy. Brunch prices are extremely reasonable (most of the menu is). There’s some pricey dishes. Ordered a nonalcoholic mojito and was charged $10+. That’s a bit much. Food was delicious. I recommend the huevos con chorizo.

Joselito Casa de Comidas: what do users think?

Ashley Rodriguez: Excellent tapas - highly recommend!!! We had the tuba rudo, grilled octopus, Cod bueñuelos, & anchovies. Plus their white cranberry mimosa, & espresso with condensed milk 😍

Rachel L: We drove past this place and I was super excited to give it a shot. The drinks were so so great and our server was outstanding. The food… not great. We saw glowing reviews so we tried a few different things but overall not too impressed. The interior is very cute and small. Definitely an older crowd but very intimate and quiet. I think we could come back for drinks but definitely wouldn’t return for the food.

Kel Millionie: This place is really quite special. Fantastic Spanish Tapas prepared with love and an upscale attention to detail, presentation, authenticity, and flavor profile. Cocktails are well-balanced, fun, and diverse. The service in this quaint cafe-like restaurant is top-notch. This place is a gem in the Eastern Market area.

Rhianna Green: Such a wonderful experience from customer service to food and drinks. Came for brunch with a group of four and stayed until dinner without feeling rushed out. The servers were extremely attentive and the food was made to perfection. We will definitely be back soon.

Stephanie: The best place to get amazing sangria!! I always order the pitcher for $40 which gets you four glasses (so about $10 a glass as seen in the picture). I loved the soups that were offered but I wasn't sold on my main entree unfortunately. Portions were fine

Marianna Du Bosq: This restaurant is a total gem! By far my favorite restaurant in DC. The food is so delicious, every single dish I have tried blows my mind! The atmosphere is relaxing and the place has great ambiance. My favorite dishes (hard to choose) are the cod fritters, pork shoulder, and anything with octopus! Also the sangria ice cubes are so fun.

Dylan Prévost: We did a multi-day food tour of DC and this restaurant was my absolute favorite. The beef took a transcendent quality in a way that mystifies me; I have no idea how they did it. Their tuna carpaccio was delightfully balanced with a house guacamole and a combination of citrus. Not a single dish fell short of excellence. This food scored better that our Michelin star venues this weekend. Though I have only been to about a dozen places, I have personally acclaimed this food as the best in DC. Their menu is rotating so you may not find some of the dishes in the photos below, but based on my experience, you really can’t go wrong with anything they prepare.

Pamela Vines: My husband and I dined at Joselito's this weekend on the recommendation from a friend. We're so glad we've been introduced to this amazing restaurant. They have outdoor seating -- but since we were there for an early dinner, the interior sunroom was vacant so ate inside. The food is perfection. I felt like I was in Spain. The decor has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. And the wait staff is super friendly and accomodating. When the food came, I couldn't help myself and dove into the bread, olive oil and herbs. My sea bass was light and seasoned perfectly. My husband enjoyed his pork shoulder. Since we don't get out much, I splurged on the french fries. Best. Fries. Ever! We can't wait to go back.

Lisa Bruce: What a lovely spot to enjoy drinks and tapas! We are big fans of Ser, their sister restaurant in Arlington. Joselito has a more European bistro vibe. Really excellent cocktails and wine, quieter setting, and don’t miss the chocolate pudding for dessert.

Jeane Garcia Davis: What a sad and disappointing experience. I was 10 min late for a reservation with fellow mom friends and was then called 6 times in a row by the host and then scolded so angrily on entry by him even after explaining I was running late because I took a call from my boss and then checked in on my kids. Do not recommend going here even if their drinks and food are fab because if this how he treats fellow humans, I can only imagine how he treats his staff/team. Other local spots deserve your loyal patronage and support, not this man who lacks any compassion or anger management. Thanks anyway! Enjoyed a lovely night in the end nearby at Element by the kindest staff and delicious menu.
Response: Good evening Jeanne, I am sorry to hear you are disappointed for being late and for not talking our several calls and for not confirming your reservation through the several emails and texts OpenTable sent you for the last two days. And I apologize for that. We are a really small restaurant and we have to fill the place one way or another, when someone is ignoring Opentable confirmation emails/texts and not picking up our calls we just need to fill that empty space with someone else, it’s that simple, we are running a business and after being able to survive Covid-19 we can’t afford to lost an opportunity to fill an empty space Also, when I told you that I was mad at you for not confirming or picking my 6-7 calls it was true: I hate to say people no, but then I offered you a table which you denied whiteout even let me explain myself. And I’ll finish with this: Whenever you make a reservation to a Restaurant: confirm that you are coming. If you are late: call them to let them know you are still going, that way they can do some magic and they will be able to accommodate you even though their schedule is tight and there’s some other people wanted to dine in. I am glad you had a magnificent dinner at Element: they are great! Gustavo Iniesta, G.M. (For you the angry host)

Bodega Spanish Tapas & Lounge: what do users think?

Mark Blanchard: Great location right in the middle of Georgetown. Although the paella looks delicious, I was not a huge fan of it. Fortunately everything else we ordered turned out delicious: serrano tower with manchego, bacon wrapped dates, toast with cheese and honey, patatas bravas, and the obligatory glass of red wine. They also serve warm bread with quality evoo that was a nice surprise. The ambiance is nice, and we were seated right by a fireplace, which was nice given it was a cold day. In closing, we struggled a bit with the table size. Although we didn't order a lot of food, our tapas couldn't fit in the small tables. We kept having to rearrange plates and combine things. Other than that, it was a good experience.

The RCWR Show: I've never eaten at a Bodega before, neither has my wife. We were trying to entertain some out of town guests and after driving around in Adams Morgan for about 30 minutes trying to find parking, we decided to come to Georgetown instead. We were so relieved to find parking at a garage nearby and then just traveling on foot to see what options we had for food after 10pm. Bodega won for us. Me nor my wife couldn’t pronounce the foods they had on the menu good despite the English text in captions on the menus, which was a nice touch but that didn't matter to us as we were hungry. My wife, and our two guests had yhe same thing which was basically mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. I had lamb chops, a scoop of mashed potatoes with gravy and that was all that came on my plate as it looked like something a five year old would yet. I was expecting an actual meal. It was delicious but I left feeling hungry still. So glad that the Häagen-Dazs was still open as I gored on some chocolate peanut butter ice cream. Overall at the Bodega, great customer service, friendly staff, including from the managers / owners who were on hand. The atmosphere was quaint, dark and intimate. Price wise for all of us it came to $148 and that included two homemade sangrias, a martini, and a bottle of Estrella Dark for me. Never had it before and it was great. For four people in Georgetown? It's Georgetown folks and let's not forget inflation. I highly reccomend for folks that's trying to entertain out of town guests or celebrating a special occasion. In our case we were celebrating our anniversary weekend, a great panel we hosted at Awesome Con at the Convention Center, and finally being able to meet and hang out with our out of town friends. Give it shot!

Dilu Namaratne: Randomly stepped into this place and it was crowded and we sat at the bar. The portions sizes are small and it is pricey. We were going to order the Paella but it was about 25 minutes to get that. We went with the hot tapas instead. They also gave bread and that was good. We had Tortilla Espanola which is basically a slice of omelette . It came with Mayo and was a bit salty for me , otherwise it was good. The Calamares fritos was not bad too. Gambas al Ajillo (shrimp sauteed in garlic)was what my husband had and the garlic and olive oil in it was good with the bread they served. We also got the Brocheta de Pollo which were the chicken skewers with peppers and that was the best dish personally.

Jessa L: I am totally addicted to Bodega! I love love looooove the ambiance, the excellent wine list, the warm service and, more importantly, the excellent tapas. They are by far the best price for quality, quantity and menu diversity in DC and I've been to most around. I wish they had a few more veggie options but no complaints. The Serrano Jamon, mussels & bread are the stuff of gods!If I lived in Georgetown, I'd possibly never cook dinner again. I highly recommend-- only if you leave me a seat at the bar 😉😉 seriously tho

Trev: Great Spanish spot I normally grab the Paella ! It’s good considering I’ve been to Spain a few times of course you can’t compare but I would recommend giving this restaurant a try you won’t be disappointed 👍🏼!! Grab the bottle of Sangria as well !

Mallory Bramlett: I’ll be honest, I was nervous about trying this place because I’ve never had Spanish cuisine before. My husband wanted to come here. Wow, I’m so glad I stepped outside of my comfort zone because the food did not disappoint. We had the cheese tray, a salad and lentil soup. It was surprisingly filling and SO good. Atmosphere was great too. I loved all of the details in the decor.

eriko p: We stumbled upon Bodega Spanish Tapas and Lounge after walking around M street and wanted a place to rest ourselves with a drink at the bar. We didn't order any food, because we just ate a huge meal, so we had a few beers and sangrias and met 2 locals who gave us some great tips! I really enjoed this place. It's tiny and cozy and the bartenders and locals were very friendly!

Alondra Ramirez: Great food! The Spanish food here was amazing! It tasted so fresh and unique. Never thought I would eat anchovies but they were phenomenal. The food was delicious and it’s always worth trying new food. You won’t be disappointed at this restaurant.

Dell Mk: Our visit to the bodega was great, just few issues, like the lobster was a bit over The bistek hot tapas wasn’t the best, a little bit chewy and blend. The lamb chops tasted good but a little bit over You must try the mussels, fresh and so good Paella tasted amazing a little bit more crunch wouldn’t hurt, but the taste was great When it comes to the restaurant layout, we sat by the entrance next to the bar on the booths, very cozy Overall we had a great time We will definitely be back.

Jonah Lawson: Came here for my birthday and it was great! They have great service, great atmosphere, and great food! Any seafood options are well worth it, as well as the lamb and meatball tapas.
