The Salsa With Silvia Dance Studio: what do users think?

Kat Cap: Was visiting DC for the weekend & felt like I wanted to do something else instead of museums and found Silvia's event on Eventbrite for their first ever Saturday morning Yoga & Salsa Social Dancing event! One can either choose to do just the yoga, or social OR best of both worlds! I had a flowy strengthening fun yoga class with Anya & enjoyed DJ Aldo's amazing music & dancing! I've started learning a bit of salsa on 2 and despite them being a salsa on 1 studio, they welcomed me so kindly! We all enjoyed dancing with each other, had met such fantabulous people with great vibes! I recommend this studio so0o much! I can only imagine how awesome their regular classes are!
Response: Omg, Kat, thank you SO much for the super kind words! This was the first time we tried this format and we’ll only be getting better! So glad you stopped by and we hope to see you again soon. We also offer classes on 2. Cheers, Silvia

Summer Brouwer: There’s a reason why they have 5 stars! I never had the luxury of attending dance classes. I just moved here cross country and wanted to try a new experience. I was very hesitant, and very nervous, but I bought the new student pass for $100. The pass allows you to attend unlimited group classes for the month. It’s about a week into the session and I am in love with dance! They have many different instructors and many different styles of dance. I felt at ease learning with other students of my skill level and the energy of my instructors helped me feel so comfortable as well. If you’re on the fence about whether you want to try it or not, GET OVER IT! I love it here and you will too!
Response: Wow, Summer! I have tears in my eyes after reading your review! It makes it all worth the hard work! Thank you so much! We are here to show people that dance heals and helps physically and emotionally. We are so happy you love dance now! Silvia

Reema Bhardwaj: Salsa with Silvia is THE PLACE TO BE. Whether you’re looking to improve your dancing, rent their beautiful studio for your private event, or bring your kids for an experience. You will leave feeling satisfied and happy that you took the step to come in. There is a reason this studio is the #1 Latin Dance studio in the DMV. You can feel the love that was put into the studio from starting out in just a basement to two studios! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The teachers are patient, understanding, and energetic. The adult dance classes are always so much fun and filled with great material you can take with you. They even allow videos to be taken so you can look back to review. And the owner Silvia, she is a boss lady. Very friendly, helpful, and fun. If you’re looking to have a great time with your friends, learn, teach your children dance, or have a private event, come here & don’t waste your time calling other studios!
Response: Much 💗 for you! Thank you so much for your support!

Darniesha Beach: Took my 2 year old to the babies dance class and the teacher was great. Very good with little ones and my daughter took to her immediately. The class was empty just 2 little ones including mine... but she still managed to fill the time and make it fun. Everything was very clean and location is nice if you want to make a day of it. My only complaint is the time; my daughter has to skip a nap to attend. She was super cranky so I don’t think we’ll be back until a different time slot is available or she no longer needs her afternoon nap. A class between 9&12 or at 5 would be cool.
Response: Thank you 💗 what time would work for you?

Melody Bowles: Everyone should go! We did the romantic kizumba class and it was amazing
Response: Much appreciated! We are so happy you liked the class! We can't wait to see you again soon!

Mia H: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, ValueTook a private salsa lesson for 2 and it was AMAZING! Joffre was so kind and knowledgeable that he made learning to dance easy! Perfect for if you're looking to try something new or for a date night!
Response: Thank you so much, Mia! We are so glad you loved the lesson.

Nikki Mammano: Finally after some time, I feel ready to write this review. I took Silvia's salsa teacher training course back in 2019 with an excitement to take my dancing to the next level. I have been dancing salsa since 2014 and I wasn't sure if I wanted to actually take the next leap and teach yet, but I was curious to start building a teacher foundation. After the experience however, I realized it was a mistake. And now, I cannot recommend this studio. The course itself I think was the first time Silvia and David were hosting it, it was extremely disorganized and not thought out. Some of the material was okay, but they threw so much at us in a short amount of time (7 weeks) and expected us to be experts by the end without any support. Silvia is also one of the coldest and most unsupportive people I have ever met. For the last class, she told us we were having a "test." I remember the week before I asked her who we would be teaching and how I should prepare, she did not give me very much information. When I walked in the week, I expected we would be teaching the other trainees like we were the 6 weeks prior. Nope. She threw actual student volunteers at us without informing us or letting us prepare. For me, it was very nerve-racking. She placed me to go last and by the time it was my turn, there were more students in my class than the trainees before me, which made the experience even worse. During our feedback session at the end, with both her and David, Silvia looked me cold in the face and told me I was too insecure to be a teacher. Mind you, I paid a lot of $$$ to take this "teacher training," just to be torn down as a dancer. I suggest Silvia does NOT host a teacher training again. Also, there is a lot of great dancing in DC. While you can learn some great foundations here and some of the teachers are wonderful, I do suggest looking elsewhere to become an advanced dancer.
Response: Thank you for the honest, review Nikki. I apologize if we've hurt you in any way. Teaching indeed is nerve wracking any way you look at it so it takes a certain personality to be able to be a good teacher. Teachers are always presented with difficult situations and they have to know how to handle them whether they are ready or not. Part of the training was a personality test to see if people can handle situations like that. The goal of the training was to provide the knowledge as to where the information was, the rest was on the trainees to study and prepare. As with all other trainings. You are completely entitled to your opinion of course and again, I apologize. Most of the trainees ended up teaching classes at the studio and that's the only negative review we've received. My advise would be if you really want to be a teacher, you should keep trying and working at it because it takes really hard work and it's mostly on you, not so much on the training, anywhere you get it. I, for example have never had a formal training but I've worked incredibly hard on studying, preparing and practicing so I can be ready to teach. Cold is something I haven't been called just yet but if that's what you think of me, I cannot argue. Hundreds of our students may disagree with you and I am always open to meet and talk to any of them, which is how I built the largest Latin dance studio in the DMV. Again, best of luck Nikki and I am sorry it didn't work out. Regards, Silvia

Caoilfhionn Roche: I am a former student of Mario, Joffre, and Cat's classes, and Joffre's current dance partner and assistant of 2 years now. The Salsa with Silvia studio has been my home for 2 years, as it has been home to many others. Particularly considering the global pandemic that we have collectively gone through, I think that one of the greatest lessons the last year has taught us is that we are social beings, and we need community, which is what the studio has brought to everyone that has walked through the doors. I have spent majority of my weeks over the last 2 years at this studio - truly nonstop - and I have never felt anything other than respect, care, and professionalism from Silvia as a studio owner and Joffre as an instructor and partner. His classes and teams are a joyful, fun, safe space, where I, among others have learned and laughed together. I have continuously heard from people how Joffre's classes and practices are the highlights of their days (and mine as well). Through a global pandemic and beyond it, Joffre has been a constant for his classes and teams, always respectful and responsible, cultivating a safe space for people to come, from wherever someone's day is bringing them, and be their authentic selves. This has created nothing but a community filled with honest, kind, caring people, that I have encountered. This has been my continuous experience with SWS over the last 2 years. The bottom line is: Silvia, Joffre, and the entire SWS community is a wonderful place to be, and I truly encourage you to come and see and feel it for yourself. - Keelin
Response: Thank you, Keelin!

Margaret Houck: I have been taking classes at Salsa with Silvia for about 6 months now and I'm nothing but grateful for everything this studio has brought me! When I started I was recently out of college, new to DC, had zero dance background, and was nervous to be putting myself out there. But there was no need to be nervous because everyone at the studio provided such a welcoming, comforting, safe environment for me to learn and explore my new love for dancing. I've taken classes with multiple different instructors at SWS and have truly enjoyed them all! I tend to go to Joffre's classes multiple times per week and absolutely love them. He and his assistant, Keelin, provide such a fun, safe environment for everyone to learn and challenge themselves. I always feel welcomed in their space and am so thankful for all of the great experiences that they and everyone at SWS have given me. Can't wait to keep learning new moves, making new friends, and connecting with the salsa community through SWS :)
Response: Thank you so much for the kind words! It means a lot!

Zey: Salsa with Silvia is more than a dance studio. Lots of magic happens there. You’ve got all the basics- amazing instructors, good variety of classes in style and level, a professional business, and a safe and reliable environment. In addition, you learn how dancing is about much more than just moving your body. By joining the studio you enter a community, so you meet amazing people and make new friends. The owner Silvia is always engaged and she is always willing to help. I have been going to the studio for about 2 years now, and the instructor I have taken the most number of classes with is Joffre. I always had a thing for salsa, but he is the one who really made me love it. Joffre is technically very competent, and he is also a great teacher (which is not always a given). He is also a warm and genuine person, who is very open to feedback. And as a bonus, he has the best taste in music, I learned the best songs/ artists I know from him. In short, if you are interested in entering the world of latin dancing, SWS is the place for you!
Response: Wow! ❤️ Thank you! We love our students so much! So happy that you are part of our community! People like you are the reason for us to fight and survive last year! Thank you!

DanceSport Dupont Circle: what do users think?

Jason Janke: We found Terry with only one month until our wedding day, and over just a few classes he worked with us to choreograph an elegant, yet achievable first dance for us (we came in with no prior experience). We even changed songs after our first lesson, and he was able to quickly change the style of dance to better match the different pace of song. We had fun with the resulting dance, which impressed our guests and brought out some tears. The space could occasionally get crowded with other classes going on, but it was never an issue. We were happy with everything, and enjoyed our time learning/practicing.

Adam Abramson: Terry is very knowledgeable and has good tips. It’s a fun class that I’ll definitely use at my wedding. My only gripe is that if there’s other classes going on, he’s really soft spoken so it’s hard to hear. Would recommend though! Especially if you want a choreographed dance.

Sharon Williams: Love Earl! He is a great instructor! Also love the salsa club he took us to to apply what we have learned. Looking forward to the next class!

Sam Young: Terry was great however it was very difficult to hear with two other classes happening simultaneously in the same room with their own music.

Sarah Pearce: Terry choreographed our first dance for our wedding this past November and our guests loved it! It was one of the highlights of our reception. We never anticipated that our guests would be cheering for us! Neither one of us have taken lessons in the past, so we were anxious going into our first lesson. But Terry made us feel very comfortable and was very patient with us. He's very creative and provided a few options/moves for us to use based on what we preferred. We loved going home to practice - it was such a fun experience during the high-stress time of planning the rest of the wedding. I highly recommend!

Alessandro Ghidini: I have attended DanceSport Dupont Circle for the past 2 years. The dance area is spacious and divided by mirror screens to allow concurrent classes. I have taken ballroom lessons with Terry Chasteen with a focus on International style. Terry is the most patient and competent instructor one can desire. His own experience as competitor and judge at national and international competitions makes him perfectly suited to train and prepare a couple for the world of competitions. I was thus able to compete at a few National and one international competitions. It was a fantastic experience and Terry was there until the end to support me and my partner in our endeavor. I have also observed Terry interacting with couples who want to prepare for wedding events, and he is excellent at putting together a choreography that suits the music chosen by the bride (either for the dance with the groom or with the bride's father), as well as their dancing skills. You will not regret your decision to start dancing at DanceSport Dupont Circle!

Elsa Peraldi: Luca was our teacher for our wedding dance. He was great!!! Not only did he worked with us to have a great choreography, but he was also super patient with us and help us navigate the process at times when we would be stressed. He is really flexible and works with you to find a time that works for you. Couldn't recommend more!

Louis L.: OMG, Terry is adorable. Clearly, he eats, sleeps and breathes everything related to dancing. I have known him to dance with students late into the evening--perhaps having a power snack in between--but never skipping a beat! He is patient and accommodating. My dance partner and I won 3 silver medals after Terry choreographed four fantastic Latin dance routines in preparation for our dance competition in 2018. I am forever grateful to Terry for his training.

Jonathan Dickinson: We arrived 10 minutes early, and then waited 15 minutes after our appointment time. The instructor ignored us for the couple ahead of us. We planned our day and evening around this lesson.

John Farr: Great job of teaching the first dance wedding basics

Keva P: Salsa Underground has the best on 2 salsa experience in the area! They play vinyl and take pride in spinning music you won't likely hear other DJs playing. You will find friendly faces and awesome dancers!

The DJs are Mambo Soul and Dola and they are thee best in DC. Friendly environment, cover is $12, water bottles are $2 and event goes from 5pm to 10pm every 1st and 3rd Sunday. Playground for all levels of dancers including the best in DC.

ALL2DANCE.com: what do users think?

Sarah Close: We came in for a dance lesson three weeks before our wedding without any clue and wanting a few tips for our first dance. Victor very quickly helped us pick out a dance and tailored his instruction to the ways that we both learn best (impressive, considering he had just met us!). Victor taught us in a very humorous and compassionate manner that made the entire experience fun. He also provided a number of helpful tips and reminders for our wedding day, beyond just the first dance, that really helped us stay calm and focused. We would highly recommend ALL2DANCE to anyone, whether or not they have a wedding to prepare for- it was a great experience!

Olivia Davis: My husband and I began taking private dance lessons with Ann at ALL2Dance several months before our wedding and loved every minute of them. We came out of our lessons feeling very confident about our rumba skills for our 'first dance' (no choreography needed!) and felt that this was generally such a fun and different way to spend time together. We'll definitely be continuing our lessons with them beyond the wedding!

scottskywalker21: Had a quick lesson before my wedding in a week! Never danced before in my life, but Vic was a true professional. He's probably the best couch or instructor I've ever had in my life, and I can tell that he really loves to teach. He makes learning to dance easy, even for someone with two left feet(me). Excellent instructor, hands down!!

Michael Koppes: Victor was a terrific instructor. He told us he would get us there and he did. My wife and I found our weekly dance classes a great stress relief while planning our wedding!

Crown Dance Studio: what do users think?

Austin Chang: Abraham and Regina are excellent teachers. They are very friendly and accommodating to new dancers. The group lessons and social dancing offered at this studio are a lot of fun and are a great value. I would recommend attending them, even if you take classes and/or dance elsewhere.
Response: Hello Austin! Thank you so much for your beautiful feedback of our classes here at Crown Dance Studio. We love having you and everyone in our Bachata and Salsa Classes on Monday night here at Crown Dance Studio. You're amazing and we look forward to watching and helping you with all your dancing needs. Cheers to more fun and exciting times to come 😁🕺🏾 Sincerely, Abraham Sannoh 🙏🏾

Elena Filimonova: This is not ONE of the best studios, this IS the best! Abraham is the instructor from God, has a great team! I never thought I would take up dancing.... Everything is well structured, well organised and punctual. Everyone is SUPER friendly! For a beginner it is very important not to step away because the body does not have that movement memory yet...CROWN DANCE studio definitely will be best for the beginners! (BUT not only!) They teach you to ENJOY dancing, not just steps. The decision to join the CROWN DANCE STUDIO was one of my best! 101 percent recommend it to all! All the world!
Response: Hello Elena, Thank you so much for your amazing and heartfelt feedback. Having you in our Bachata & Salsa classes on Mondays is a joy. We're truly grateful to you for your support, commitment, and beautiful energy. I have truly enjoy teaching you and I look forward to seeing the maturation of your dancing. With great appreciation and love. Abraham Sannoh :)

Kylie Sparks: This is a really fun studio. I took two private bachata lessons with Regina and she's great! In only two sessions I learned how to be a much better follower, how to soften my arms, do turns, do the sweetheart, and the windmill. Everyone in the studio is friendly and from observing other lessons, all of the teachers seem fabulous. There's a Monday night beginner group class I'm looking forward to trying. The studio is easy to get to with plenty of parking.
Response: Hello Kylie, Thank you so much for your beautiful feedback 😊 we appreciate it. Regina is amazing and one of our best. She's great at what she does and we're truly blessed to have here 💖 we're glad you you enjoyed your sessions and we look forward to seeing you in our Bachata and Salsa group classes 🙏🏾 Sincerely, Abraham 🤗❤

Mark Komi: After my (now) wife and I decided on our wedding song, we quickly realized that we had no clue how to actually dance to it... After looking around at several dance studios in the Fairfax area, Crown looked like it had potential and we decided to go for the complimentary first lesson. We were very happy that we did and afterwards we didn't hesitate to sign up for one of their wedding dance lesson packages. We got to work with Abraham for our dance and he was fantastic! Not only is he an amazing dancer, but he is also a great teacher. He listened to our song and choreographed our dance - custom tailored to our music. After 12 lessons (with an unexpected year break in the middle due to Covid) we went from being novice dancers with zero experience to being very confident and excited going into our first dance. Overall the whole experience was a lot of fun. We were super happy with our finished product and we absolutely recommend Crown Dance Studio if you want your first dance to be something special that you will always remember.
Response: Mark, Thank you so much for your beautiful feedback on Crown Dance Studio. We had a great time working with you on your wedding first dance and we truly appreciate you making us part of your amazing life journey ❤ You're beautiful people who we had the privilege of choreographing for. Thank you again for choosing Crown Dance Studio for your first dance routine. We wish you peace, joy, and prosperity in your new chapter together. ✨ Sincerely, Abraham 🤗

John Hanna: We worked with Allison for our wedding. She was great! Had a lot of fun and lots of laughs along the way. Very patient and we feel so ready. Highly recommend.
Response: Hello John, Thank you so much for your beautiful feedback of the service yiu received. Allison is amazing and we're truly blessed to have her as member of our dance family home. It was also great to see you and yiur fiance work on your dance today. You guys looked amazing 👏🏾 congratulations on your wedding and thank you for making us part of your special day 😊

Richard Ortegon: Crown dance studio hosts great lessons for beginners and intermediate dancers. My wife has been attending for about a year and when I attended recently I felt that the transition from small understandable moves to a full routine by the end of the class felt very rewarding. I have attended the salsa and bachata classes and recommend other people curious about starting to dance to come and try it out.
Response: Richard, It was so lovely to have you in our Intermediate Bachata and Salsa Classes here at Crown Dance Studio on Wednesday. It's been wonderful having your wife in our Classes and as much as we have heard about you, it was wonderful to finally have you in the class with us! 👊😁 thank you again for recommending Crown Dance Studio and thank you for attending. They make you feel part of the team right away. Honestly, I am not getting pay or have anything to gain for reviewing/giving my opinion for this business. I have nothing, but positive things to say. Ferocity Dance Company: what do users think?

Cindy Cruz: I found ferocity through my good friend Saul who when I shared with him that I really wanted to be on a dance team, he immediately with NO hesitation directed me to Kat. From that point on, it’s all history. Ferocity has become my home, my family, and more importantly my safe place. Idk what I would be doing if it wasn’t for ferocity. It’s a special place for me, and will always be. It’s really true when Kat says fierce is for everyone. Even though I am not your ideal dancer on the scene, she makes me feel like I belong every single time I step in the studio, and it’s truly a great feeling ♥️

S “Kye” Soni: If you want safety, respect, and utmost quality of service then choose ferocity. There is no doubt Kat (ferocity owner) is one the most talented dance directors in DMV area. She also has the most skilled dance coaches who work along side her. Like Carolina, Juan, Eli, and many others. I have been now part of ferocity for 6 years now. I had the pleasure to dance with many amazing dancers and learn most amazing dance moves. I have experienced many dance classes or company’s and by far ferocity studio is the only one that stay true to their customers and their safety during COVID. Don’t believe go check out one of ferocity weekend intensives, I am sure will be back for more.
Response: Thank you so much for the lovely words Kye, it’s been a pleasure having you all these years!

Samantha Ondrusek: The instructor/owner is truly a wonderful woman! Her experience and professionalism shine through! It is an all inclusive dance company where literally EVERYONE is welcome! I've been training under her for a while now and I encourage anyone interested to give it a go! Your experience will leave you happy and full of confidence! Her professional and competitive teams are warm and welcoming to new people and beginners! Check out her teams and their performances!

FranklinLiranzo: Fantastic school to learn all of the latin dance genres!! Professional and trained staff with numerous championship titles under their belts!!! Highly recommend them!!
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words Franklin!

jeannice schillary: Currently the studio is doing VIRTUAL CLASSES to keep it running! ♥️♥️ This studio is more than a place to dance! It feels like a family with how coach/ instructor Kat Arias keeps it running! Kat is very sweet, funny, and fierce 😍 She delivers her critiques in the most perfect way where you’re left only wanting to improve more! Same for the rest of the instructors!!! Ximena - stunning styling patterns Carolina- phenomenal technique Juan- the drill Sargent you could only dream of And much more for all!!! Hope you try it out and find a new place to call home like I did ☺️♥️ #fierceisforeveryone

Julian Gapud: Ever since I met Kat, the director and owner of Ferocity, and being apart of her studio, I have had nothing but a pleasant and professional experience. This is a great place to build proper technique and a solid bachata foundation. Not only will you become a better dancer but also a better member of the dance community! Highly recommend!

Stephenson Eli: So ferocity has been my home for over a year now and every time I step into this studio I cant help but feel alive and refreshed from a long day. It means the world to me to dance and I love sharing the experience with everyone I've had the pleasure of meeting. Not only is this a home to me but a place I can safely enjoy my time of active relaxation!! I've come a long way and learn so many new things with every teacher. Especially Kat Arias I hope you take a chance and check it out when you can!

Alessandra Garcia: Amazing studio in the Northern Virginia area! Check it out for yourself. You will find more than a dance studio though, you will find a family. I enjoy the amazing techniques I have learned over the last year. This was my first attempt getting more serious about dancing and I believe I came to the right spot. I learned about Ferocity through a recommendation, in which I am very grateful for. That is why the is review is important, so I can let the rest of the world know what a gem this studio is for all of us living in the DMV area. I have not looked back ever since. I started taking lessons with Kat, as part of the Ladies Team and I am happy because I have seen much improvement. I was able to experience why this is one of the most respectable dance studios in the area. I feel love, commitment, professionalism, confidence and courage after every practice. Thank you Kat and thank you Ferocity! So grateful for you and ll the work done here.

Josette Souza: Words can't even describe how much Ferocity has helped me grow, not only as a dancer and performer, but as a person. Kat cares deeply about you as a holistic person, and when you walk into the studio (or the Zoom call), you know you're going into a place you can be yourself, where you'll be pushed, and where you'll evolve. If you're looking for more than just lessons, if you want connection, fun, joy, and family, this is the place to be.

Dwight Williams: Ok, let's see! I’ve been a member of Ferocity for two years and during that time I’ve learned much more about bachata music, social dancing and performing. I’ve also become a much better lead and made lots of new friends. Kat Arias and her team will break down the instruments involved in bachata and help you recognize them when dancing. They will explain the different types of bachata music and help you learn the footwork and body movement involved. I think with Kat’s training team the biggest positive is that you are purchasing Kat’s experience, her trained eye, her ear for music, and her expertise in teaching. I ask her anything, no matter how nuanced, and she always answers. The group of people who attend Kat’s class are friendly and go out to dancing after class sometimes so your bachata dancing network definitely grow. The knowledge I’ve gained from Kat and her team will be with me forever!

Forever Dancing Ballroom: what do users think?

Christine Heppner: I just recently had my renewal of vows and my dad and I wanted to do something special. A neighbor had worked with Forever Dancing for her mother/daughter dance and highly recommended the team. We did five evening lessons which worked so well with our schedules, and we learned different choreography to match the multiple songs I mixed together. I played the track for Fabio during our first rehearsal and he ran with it! We had a great time and everybody could not stop talking about the father/daughter dance! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!!!
Response: We are So Happy to Hear that Everything Went well and it was a joy working with you both. Thank you fir the review.

Kimberlyn Eaton: We began taking group lessons to do something fun together and didn't have any expectations. I have a ballet background and my fiancé had never danced, but our instructor Fabio is amazingly talented at presenting material for all levels of dancers in a single classroom. Since we had so much fun, we decided to do private lessons and choreography for our wedding. Fabio crafted a dance that was comfortably challenging for us, even incorporating steps we learned in group class. We haven't had our wedding yet, but we're sure that even if we misstep or stumble it will all have been worth it because we had so much fun during lessons working with each other and Fabio. Additionally, the studio is a beautiful space with great COVID precautions, a friendly staff, and personal reminders for class. Jennifer and Fabio have a built a business the whole community should give a try!
Response: Thank you Kim! It was a pleasure working with you both. We cannot wait to see your pictures and videos.

Johnny Shryock: My wife Brittany and I have had a fantastic and transformative experience dancing at Forever Dancing Ballroom! We found them at one of their open house events and immediately booked a package of lessons with Fabio for our wedding. Our dance lessons were always a fun break from wedding planning, and we left every dance lesson feeling better than we did when we walked in. It was exciting to learn new moves and choreography at every lesson. At first, we thought the techniques were difficult, but with practice and good coaching, we were able to learn the steps and perform a romantic and fun first dance at our wedding. It was thrilling to do our dance in front of such a supportive and enthusiastic crowd - we absolutely loved the magic moment of our first dance! My wife and I had a casual interest in dancing before we worked on the first dance with Fabio, but since then, we've become hooked and now we take group classes and have continued with private lessons as well. Jennifer Bonini manages the studio classes, billing, private lessons, events, and more. She is friendly, funny, and supportive, and very excellent at keeping everything organized. A talented dancer herself, Jennifer has also shared some excellent dance coaching with us from time to time. Other coaches at the studio are similarly personable and welcoming to all. The entire vibe at Forever Dancing is simply perfect for those looking for an approachable dance studio that will keep you smiling, moving, and have a blast dancing. I highly encourage you to visit Forever Dancing Ballroom as a studio: for wedding first dance lessons, group classes, cool workshops, and a fulfilling way to spend your time!
Response: Thank you Johnny! You and Brittany are simply a pleasure to teach and have the ability to take any challenge to the next level. I am looking forward to see your future in dancing. I am excited about your new dance number at our dance showcase. I know you will do another FUNtastic performance.

Gabriel Glasser: Fabio took us from zero classical dancing experience to nailing our first dance. He gave us clear and honest direction, and constant motivation. I recommend Fabio to any couple!
Response: Thank you Gabriel! It was a pleasure working with you.

Niki Ceo: My son Peter and I had two wonderful dancing lessons with Fabio. Peter's wedding is coming up and I wanted to have some instruction for our dance together. He (Peter) didn't think we needed more than one, but boy he changed his mind after the first one. It was such fun! It was a wonderful experience for the two of us. And Fabio was a Fabulous instructor!. Very patient and encouraging and full of so many great ideas to make our mother/son dance special. Thank you again Fabio. I enjoyed our lessons so much.!!!
Response: Thank you Niki! It was a pleasure working with you. Enjoy your son wedding!

Julie: I am a professional dancer--contemporary dance, improvisation, history, and dance-making. I have taught dance in universities and community schools for many years. I studied ballroom dancing many years ago and had a longing to return to ballroom dancing and learn more. I also wanted to support a local business in the dance community and I have found Forever Dancing Ballroom to be a treasure. Fabio is an amazing and gifted teacher. He is excellent in communicating both the technique and the spirit of each of the dances with passion and depth. Jennifer is attentive and thorough. She has provided great support answering questions and helping me prepare for competition. Fabio and Jennifer are a superior team of educators and are just plain nice people. Dancing is always fun when you get to do it with kind, fun, and awesome people!
Response: Thank you for your review, it is always great to have fun, dedicated students with love for the dance,

Francine Tango: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, ValueAwesome place to learn during this pandemic. They have great instruction and if you do not have a partner , you can learn 6 feet apart from your partner. Everybody wears masks, temperature is taken, shoes changed and lot's of FUN. I feel safe and aquiring a new skill during this pandemic. Thank you Forever Dancing!
Response: We are glad to hear that you felt safe and have fun while learning how to dance.Thank you!

Joseph Smith: Anu was a wonderful instructor!! We took private lessons at Forever Dancing to learn to dance for our wedding. We are new to the world of ballroom dance and Anu took the time to make the experience fun and easy to learn. She taught us how to ballroom dance and put together a choreographed dance routine to wow our friends and family. Would definitely recommend Forever Dancing for any dancing needs!
Response: Thank you for your review, we are so happy that you both had a great experience learning something new and exciting as ballroom dancing with one of our talented instructors at Forever Dancing. Congratulations! And looking forward to seeing some pics of your special day.

Andrew White: I was totally new to salsa dancing and signed up for an 8 week beginner course with Fabio and Jennifer. They did a great job of making the class efficient, educational, and fun. They also gave me at least one piece of individual feedback every single session. I practiced at home 1x/week and I also took a 2nd 8 week class with them before moving out of the area. I would highly recommend dance classes with this business.
Response: Thank You Andrew! You are doing great with your Salsa

Cah Abdalla: We booked 10 classes for our first dance and it was amazing! Our wedding became extremely special with our Brazilian dance. Fabio was awesome and very professional! We strongly recommend it!
Response: Thanks Camila! Congratulations on your great performance. It was great working with you.

The Dance Institute of Washington: what do users think?

Cheri Mallory: We have had a wonderful experience with DIW's Autism Acceptance Events.

Angela Ingram: Excellent Dance Training and excellent community for dances to train. DIW cares deeply for their students, faculty and staff.

Daisy Fischer: Positive: ProfessionalismMy Grandson participated in the virtual Theater Workshop on October 3rd, 2020, and he had so much fun. The ladies of Teatro La Bolsa did an excellent job of keeping the students engaged while they provided education in language, culture, dance and geography. Thank you.

Cassie Quick: I don't recommend this school as they are really unorganized. It takes weeks to follow up with parents about questions or concerns. It's pretty ridiculous. I recommend they hire additional help.
Response: Hello, Ms Quick. We are sorry to learn about your experience. As a non for profit organization our number one priority is to have the best positive impact in our youth. Of course we can’t do this without the support of parents and guardians and we apologize for the inconvenience. We would like to share that during the summer of 2019 DIW experienced multiple staff transitions and also began exciting renovation in which we are adding a new studio and student lab to our state of the art building. Although no excuse, please consider these major occurrences as a reason to why our line of communication failed you. Again, we apologize and hope you reconsider our school in the future as we have major exciting changes and upgrades in process. All best!

Zahra Carpenter: Very good quality of dance classes. Although the founder passed away, it is in the staff and teachers heart to carrying on his legacy. Cannot wait what is next for DIW!

Star Clark: I take lessons here sometimes. It's wonderful and cheap. Say hello to Lettie and Mara. Great instructors!

Noelle Hoerrner: I love to dance and the young dancers out there in Washington D.C. I think they have an opetunity here!

claudia Moreno: If it was possible to give less than one star i would. this place is beyond unprofessional and you will get tossed around from person to person trying to get basic information. horrible. horrible. absolutely horrible. customer service is absurd.

Cheryle Crawford: Great teacher for younger " bun heads", continues to use ZOOM classes effectively.

Peter Perkins: Interested in developing skills I'll highly recommend attending The Dance Institute of Washington also I much say many opportunities are available.

Dance Studio Lioudmila: what do users think?

Paul Tannous: I have been a regular client at Dance Studio Lioudmila for almost three years, taking both private and group lessons. It is a beautiful facility with a warm, talented staff and a friendly clientele. The studio occupies the entire second floor of a stand-alone brick building in a quiet location with ample free parking, less than five minutes from the beltway. The entry stairs come up into the center of a remarkably large floor that is surrounded with windows and large mirrors, giving it an open, light-filled look. The wooden dance floor is in excellent condition, with great shock absorption and uniformity, and the right level of friction to support all levels of dancing. The founders of the studio, Lioudmila and her husband Serguei, were champion dancers in their native Russia before coming to the U.S. Lioudmila has engaged a cosmopolitan group of instructors with Russian, Italian, American, and Latin backgrounds. All of them are accomplished dancers and many of them compete regularly. Most importantly, they are experienced teachers who are adept at working with students of all levels, making them feel welcome and secure in their classes. The studio offers all forms of smooth, rhythm, and Latin dancing in both group classes and private lessons. It also offers monthly memberships that give you unlimited access to the group lessons and weekly dance parties at a great price. The studio caters to wedding couples as well. I have seen many of them over the past two years, and they always seem to enjoy their lessons. Lioudmila has instilled her studio with elegance and refinement, as well as warmth and laughter. She makes her students feel that they are part of a dance family, where we all support each other. Many of her students are regulars who have been coming for years. Whether you’re just a beginner or an experienced dancer, you should visit this studio. I highly recommend it.

Alexei Markel: Beautiful studio with an excellent complement of talented instructors. The atmosphere is always cozy and friendly. Group classes are perfect for complete beginners or those who just want to add some moves to their repertoire!
Response: Thank you Alexei!

Thomas Maresh: Friendly and welcoming environment for newcomers interested in enjoying a social and active lifestyle. You'll learn all the popular social dances of ballroom and salsa. Even if you feel like you have two left feet and just want to get out of the house and do something fun, you'll find that it's worth it. Plenty of free parking and close to downtown Alexandria.

Jairo V.: Great studio with lots of floor space, a variety of classes ranging from Latin to traditional ballroom, and friendly instructors.
Response: Thank you Jairo!

Meghan May: Maria was awesome! We signed up for the 5 dance package prior to out wedding to get ready for our first dance. We are super uncoordinated and my fiance was really nervous. We ended up having so much fun and feel completely prepared. Would highly recommend and sent the info along to our wedding planner as well so she could make recommendations.

Nicolaus Craig: This is a great facility, with lots of floor space. Group classes are currently in person and online. Private lessons are available in person in studio. From wedding lessons to individual lessons for competition or showcases this studio has highly experienced staff.

Samantha Benjamin: Enzo is pleasant and skilled at teaching. It always helps make things easier when your instructor loves what they do!

Randall Knol: I take lessons from Lioudmila, very professional and elegant teacher with attention to detail for people who want to get better. The floor is large and floats so easy on the feet and knees. The dance community is friendly and helpful. Great place to meet people with the same interests and have fun.

Harold McClendon: My wife and I decided to stop by on a Friday night to practice our ballroom dancing. It was a terrific dance floor and large enough to handle all of the dancing. The recorded music was excellent. And best of all, they let us dance for free.
Response: Thank you Harold!

Damian Bartholomew: I was pleasantly surprised to find an amazing schedule of dance types ongoing all week. Ballroom is the focus and instructors appear to be extremely talented from both the us and international. The classes are perfect for teacher student ratio of roughly 10:1 depending on the day and class. Moreover ask about the monthly special price -an amazing deal to allow open access to classes all month!!! Privates are available and some student are competitors at different levels. During group class there are usually on going private lessons that never seem to interfere. Other random notes... dances are every weekend and they are focused on serving am adult crowd. The music is also diverse allowing for ballroom, targentine ango, and latino styles. In other words it's not just ballroom and it's more than canned syllabus. Certainly a worthy studio to just have fun and learn some simple steps or get serious about your dance. Thanks for reading.
