The mixed drinks and their first-rate line of imported beers are top notch and fairly priced, considering the fact that this establishment is located in the heart of the nation’s capital. Getting a table is extremely affordable and I would recommend it if you come with a big group of friends. Security is on point inside and outside the club. It’s simply the best 18+ club in DC. Special thanks to Jimmy, Giuseppe, Galen, for always providing my friends and me with courteous customer service.

Alexander Zacapa Centenario: Ultrabar happens to be among the best clubs to party in DC. The establishment has four floors with different music genres played by talented DJs, and the overall atmosphere is always entertaining. My friends and I have enjoyed table service on multiple occasions and we’ve always had a fun time. The customer service from Jimmy Mar is absolutely exceptional, I consider him a tremendous asset to Ultrabar for many reasons, as well as the entire staff who are always very welcoming, friendly, and professional. This place also has outstanding security inside and outside the club in order to ensure the safety of its patrons. It is well situated near the Verizon Center and Constitution Avenue. Check out their pictures online showing how crowded and lit this place is. It is truly amazing on so many levels. Just make sure to look your best by following their dress code. Be ready to have a good time! In conclusion, I strongly recommend Ultrabar to anyone looking to have an enjoyable night out.

Sometimes I get tired of hearing the same type of music so it’s nice to be able to just switch floors to get a different atmosphere instead of having to go to completely different clubs and wait in line again. P E: This 5 star review could not be more merited after a very busy Halloween Saturday night. The measure of an establishment is not only how well it executes its positive experience but also how it reacts when it gets something wrong. And we had one BIG hiccup. We had ordered tables and bottle service beforehand. Arrived around 11:30. The door staff were not the most cheerful but they're probably cold and dealing with a lot of drunk people so they have very little patience. All the different lines were very disorganized as well. Once we got in, my party were taken straight to our main floor table and introduced to Val. She was VERY happy and VERY cheerful and a wonderful and attentive server. There was a security staffer in the tables area at that time. We had some drinks, danced a little and settled in. After about 45 minutes we decided to leave our area to explore the other floors. Each has different music and a different vibe and it's a treat to wander and explore! And bring cash so you can tip the bathroom staffer. I was very embarrassed that I did not have any cash on me to say thank you to him. We wandered and danced for about 45 minutes. When we came back, we found a large group of ladies at our table and in our section. There was no security guard to be seen anywhere. We shooed them away and although they protested and argued with us for a bit they did eventually move away. That was when we discovered they had drunk our entire bottle of champagne and started in on our two liquor bottles having had approximately another 25% of each. We were appalled and shocked. We took the situation up with Val and she quickly gave us another bottle of champagne. However she didn't really know what to do about the liquor. We approved the check but mentioned that we would have to follow up with someone the next day about the situation. A few minutes later a staffer (we assume some kind of manager) came to us with another full bottle of liquor with their compliments. We were not expecting it and we were very grateful. Suffice to say, we were entirely satisfied with their handling of the situation and they turned the situation around completely for us. We had a wonderful rest of the evening and are eagerly looking forward to returning in the future. Val and the team at Ultrabar completely executed the right moves even when things went wrong. Major shout out to her. She made what could have been a bad review into a stellar customer service experience. We cannot recommend Ultrabar enough. Ps. They did acknowledge that there should have been a security staffer there keeping guard and mentioned that there usually is. Tips: If you have table service and everyone wishes to leave the table, GIVE YOUR BOTTLES TO THE BOTTLE SERVICE SERVER. Even if there is a security staffer there, they may be called away to deal with another situation.

Stephanie Trelles: I came to visit Washington DC for the weekend for Easter. My husband and I went to Ultrabar waiting in line for a little over 30 minutes just to get to the door and staff checking ID told my husband he was not allowed in because he had sneakers on. When I asked how come if every other male there had sneakers on and it was never mentioned in the dress code online. He responded very rudely and very unprofessional. The experience would have been a lot better if staff would have treated us fairly. I would think twice about attending this nightclub.

(If you remember "Old DC" and Georgia Ave Caribbean Carnival, you know what I'm talking about). DJ spins Soca, Reggae, Afrobeat, Reggaeton, and international music. Bartenders, owners, and staff are friendly and customer service top notch. The patrons get down too! No "wall flowers" at this spot. 😁 ALWAYS a great experience at Timehri.

Green Roses: I visited becoz of the good reviews. True, its wonderful. Nice vibe. Music was more soca. I hope more reagge can be played since Timehri is the home of Reagge. The bartenders were grooving like no joke. They were fast in getting the drink orders. The crowd was on fire-grooving like oh my. Music was kainda too loud for me, so I stepped away from the main floor. Thumps up. Well done Timehri. Good job. I will return with more pple.

They are EXTREMELY good at mixing drinks. I mean to the point where my Long Island tasted like a sweet tea but hit like 5 shots of Henny. The bar tenders are hilarious, and it wasn’t the liquor laughing. They legit must be trained in comedy. Lastly some fine woman bit me on my back and I think I found true that night. But overall this place is a definite YES in my book.

Hector Sobers: If you love reggae music like me this club is the place to be on Thursday,Friday and Saturday. And to me it has the cheapest drinks in DC you wouldn't regret the visit and the customer service is great always a friendly crowd

Da-Wang Wu: One of my favorite restaurants in DC. The interior design is pretty cool, and the ambience is great. My favorite is the seafood soup, very flavorful with lots of seafood inside. During dinner time (after 4pm), they serve toasted bread with mango butter, super refreshing flavor! Chicken croquette, fried yuca and empanadas are all very good. Guacamole is beautiful decorated but not the best one I’ve ever had. Paella doesn’t feel right, pretty wet. Churro as an ending dessert to be meal is a great option. Reservation might be needed during peak hours.

M: Good food.Service took a while but it's ok. Pandemic times calls for extra patience. Once we got a server, we ordered food, it came without a long wait. It was a nice end of day meal after a museum marathon on a Sunday.

Vikram Seshadri: Loved the music and the ambiance was very lively. Amazing vegetarian and Vegan options. Must try the Mojitos, Yuca fries and the Plantain chips.Had to call ahead and reserve a table and the restaurant was super busy on a weekday but was definitely worth it.

Melinda Nguyen: Fantastic place for music, dancing, and drinks. The decor was beautiful and inviting. The space was open and the dance floor was fenced in which was a cool way to separate the space. It's busy and crowded on a Saturday night, but still had space to move around. Drinks were on point. The only downside was the lack of places to hang coats or bags. Coming during the winter, a lot of people struggled to put their things in a safe spot. Dancing with all the stuff is no fun. They should consider a coat check or something, especially in the winter. All in all, great music.. mix of Latin and pop throughout the night. I would definitely go back in the spring or summer.

Kevin Russell: This is a long review, but please read to the end. Food is really good and the decor is great. On Friday and Saturday nights, not sure the time (I think around 10) the place basically turns into a salsa dance club. Really cool. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars from me this time was because our service was awful this trip. This is a follow up to that visit. The GM contacted me regarding the service. He took the time to address what happened and has generously offered to invite us back and make it right. This is the type of service restaurants should try to achieve. He takes pride in the customer experience and was very sincere. So I'm changing to 5 stars. I look forward to our next visit. As I said previously, the food is good, actually, great, and just a great place to have fun with your friends. I highly recommend this place. For a great app, try the empanadas. Really tasty. Oh, and I did forget to mention before, I'd suggest reservations on Friday and Saturday as a lot are there to enjoy the food and then dance the night away with some unique drinks they have! I'm confident our next visit will be amazing and I can't wait!!! I'll add photos of the dance floor and the food we choose this time around. We just had our evening here again after the service that was subpar before. This time, there was nothing subpar about our experience. We had a great table, our waiter was very attentive, fun, and made great suggestions for our friend that hadn't been there before. We had chicken and beef empanadas, and pineapple guacamole for apps. Was very good. Our dinner was very good. My friend and I had the plato gaucho mixed grill. My other friend had a neat and rice dish that I forgot to ask the name of. He's a chef at the White House, and he thought everything was excellent! The manager was aware of our previous experience and brought us desserts, and after dinner drinks that was a very nice touch, and we're also very good. The music was really good. The place really filled up with people to dance the night away on the dance floor that starts at 11 until 3 am. Everyone was having a great time. There was a pretty good sized line of people waiting outside to get in to enjoy the dancing. Really a perfect night out. Please go and support this restaurant. I highly doubt you will regret it. And if something isn't right, they will ensure to make it right. A big thank you to the GM, Matthew Fox, the manager Jessica, and our waiter!!!

Austin Graff: A friend of mine's favorite restaurant in the world is Cuba Libre in D.C.'s Chinatown. He loves the drinks, food, atmosphere and music. Having not visited in over a decade, we made a reservation for a Sunday dinner. Here's our experience: 1) Food: The menu is Cuban and has variety with appetizers, mains, desserts and a kid's menu. My Cuban sandwich and shrimp dish were flavorful and my five-year-old daughter even loved the food! 2) Drinks: They have a rum bar and three options for sangria that come by the glass or pitchers. My friend and I split the red sangria. It was strong, but not as sweet as other sangrias. 3) Atmosphere: They try to transport you to Cuba. The restaurant is spacious and even has outdoor seating during the winter. Salsa dancing happens at Ciba Libre too! 4) Service: It was easy to make an online reservation. However, when we dined in the service was average. Our server wasn't very attentive and not very friendly, which is fine since we all have off-days. But our food took a long time to come out. 5) Price: It's pricey, even for D.C. If the food was the best you've had, it would be better, but with good, but not phenomenal food, the prices felt off. This spot isn't a bad option, but I don't join my friend in titling it the best in the world.

Michelle Edgar: We spent years in “little Cuba” in Hialeah FL, so we are pretty well versed in cuban food. This was stellar! Drinks were strong but flavorful. My husband and I got the mixed grill to share and it did not disappoint! If we come back to the dc area this will be our first stop!

Greg Amiker: Beautiful layout (ambience feels like you're in a Cuban garden). The staff and managers were friendly and helpful. The seating is both indoors and outside. After 11pm on Weekends they turn part of the restaurant into a "Hot Cuban Club" with a nice setup of Mambo music, disco lights and DJ. Be aware that you're in downtown DC so expect pricey food and drinks, but the Mojito and other Cuban food is great!

Kim & Ben: We were a little nervous to visit decades after reading the reviews, but we ended up going for a bit to celebrate a friend’s birthday and actually had a great time! The line to enter was long, but moved quickly. They did a thorough check point where they pat you down, check bags and check jacket pockets. You get carded at the door and have to pay a $20 cover if you don’t have a VIP pass. We all got the free VIP pass off their website and, so we didn’t have to pay the cover fee. Once inside, you can visit each floor of the club to get a different music experience. The top floor was the most crowded, and it was very hot, but our group still had a good time dancing. One of the middle floors (I think it was the 90’s floor) was less crowded, and you could feel the air conditioning, so we stayed there most of the time. Our friends said the bartenders were nice, and we didn’t have any negative experiences with bouncers either. We had a ton of fun at Decades and would love to visit again sometime! If you haven’t been, I’d stop by and give it a try!

Itzel Trejo: I used to love this place but friends and I went to a day party after Sunday brunch and saw a rat right on the rooftop bar. We notified staff and they did not care. We decided to leave because the rat was right next to the bottles so we felt uncomfortable getting drinks. Staff response was that we live in a city and rats are everywhere and although I understand there’s still expectations when it comes to rats near what costumers consume. I would have expected a better costumer service response. Go at your own risk.

Towards the end of it I wanted to use the bathroom and this one security guy did not let me use the bathroom. After I insist I really need to use it badly than he told me that if I give him 100 dollar and the other security guy 100 then he will let me use the bathroom. What a worst service is that. I ask him who is the owner of this place let me speak to him and he refuses me and told me get out of here. Is this how you treat with the customer. It was so terrible. There many other people standing and watching this incident.

Ahmad AL Jaloudi96: I’d like to give an accurate opinion and with full transparency. The place is very boring since the Halloween event until these days. The entry fee is 20 dollars, it must be reduced to 10 dollars because the place is not worthy now adays and there is no respect for the customer, the security workers are very rude, the place is not clean ,the pool table is in poor condition and the prices fluctuate every weekend, the price varies, there is no credibility.. I didn't want to talk about this, because every week I was saying that the situation would get better, but to no avail. You should notice this, because the customers are gradually declining. Please pay attention to these notes. Today was my last visit to the place and I could not stand staying for more than an hour and 45 minutes. I will not go back again if these comments are not considered.

Drew Inge: If you’re an LGBTQ person do NOT come here. First of all, aside from the fact that this bar is not lgbt friendly it’s absolutely disgusting. The first floor of decades smells like a portopotty. The drinks are ridiculously overpriced compared to any other comparable “club” in DC. The cover is $20 which would be fine if it had any redeemable qualities worth the cover. As far as it being not LGBTQ friendly, the staff is not trained on how to handle LGBTQ people, the bathrooms are labeled All Gender but they have staff guarding them(even though they are single stall) allowing only females into one and “men”(those they deem visible men) into the room with only urinals available(on the rooftop) My personal experience on the rooftop after entering the “all gender” restroom was I was pulled out by the staff and then told I was not allowed to use that facility and I could enter the mens room because that room was for women only. I politely informed them I did not want to use the room with the urinals and the straight men and was then yelled at by security and told that I had no choice. IF YOU ADVERTISE ALL GENDER RESTROOMS THEN YOU STAND BY THAT STATEMENT. Will not return after this. I’ve visited numerous times and had multiple bad experiences but returned because I have so many straight friends who visit and want to experience different decades of music. If you want to experience the cliche of every decade and it be absolutely horrible then by all means please visit Decades DC but I’d spend my money at other establishments that cater to their clients much better; lgbtq or not.

Sophie Wophie: Me and my friends used to love to come to decades but each time we get some sort of mistreatment. The guards are rude and RACIST. One time one of the guard told us ‘this ain’t your s**t, when we try to get to our VIP table. Ever time we go there it feels like they assume just because we’re black we can’t afford VIP. I’m tired of this racist treatment, I will take my money somewhere where it’s appreciated.

John T: This dive bar is awesome! In the summer you can relax on the 3rd fl rooftop and laugh at everyone waiting in line for the "popular" bar across the street. In the winter they have small indi bands on the second floor. Great concert space. Staff has seen it all so be respectful!

I approached bar for a drink and 3 bartenders just stood there, it was not busy. Finally one asked if I wanted a drink. The entire area for tables is roped off, so unless you have table service you are treated like second class. No where to sit. The tables surround the "dance floor" so forget dancing unless you're doing it directly in front of DJ both or bar. The bathroom is HORRIBLE. Only 2 of 4 toilets working. Poor lighting. Crowded. Paint chipping. A lady sitting on an old folding chair to take tips for handing your a Paper towel, showing you to open stall (there's only 2 options) , and keeping it tidy. With the place looking "fancy" from the outside and lighting effects inside you would think the bathroom would be posh. Hell no. I didn't even WANT to sit in those stalls. The staff lacked any type of enthusiasm. It was an awful experience and I'll never return.

This tends to alleviate problems. You may want to consider going somewhere else, if you rely on the use of a wheelchair, though. The staff at the front door will tell you they forgot he key to the elevator or the person that has it isn't there, despite the fact that the manager can get you in. The staff at the door make me feel discriminated against. If you use a wheelchair, you may just want to go, to see what I mean. It is not professional at all. I never see anyone that uses a wheelchair going there If you do manage to make it inside, you'll have an exceptional time.

Michael Jaffee: Unlike any venue in DC and unlike majority of lounge style intimate clubs you’ve been to in the US. The music is incredibly unique for DC as they play deep house, tech, tech house, and other amazing sub-genres and the initiate dark setting with the [flash]ing lights is like nowhere you’ve ever been. It’s an absolute must if you’ve never been or are visiting DC and are trying to go vibe/dance the night away.

Aránzazu Ascunce: State of the art with a massive function one sound system. Multiple levels. Amazing lights, service, hospitality, staff. Global deejays regularly. Shout out to the booking agent. Come as you are. Not pretentious. The only rule is no flash at Flash. Highly recommend it to get your dance on and a pulse on the global underground. See you soon!

Ayesha SH: This is a hardcore EDM club. They have the rooftop, second floor and ground floor. The night I was there, all three areas had different DJ’s. You have to buy tickets on the website to get it - reasonably priced. Very decent crowd. The manager is Boris and he is awesome! Please visit and you will love it.

Denonte McKinney: I hope management reads this because coming to Flash was absolutely the worst experience ever. First of all, they made us stand outside in the drizzling rain until nearly 1:30am because we didn’t purchase a ticket online. The security guards rationale was, “Because of Covid we have to monitor the number of people coming in.” This does not make sense because masks are NOT required for admission, people with tickets are able to walk in without proof of vaccination, and they let everyone in anyways. Making a crowd of paying customers wait 1-2 hours for admission into a BAR is ridiculous. Also, they only have a CASH admission. In 2022, I need for this venue to upgrade and get a card reader, outside ATM, or cash app because the ATMs in the area are closed after 5pm. Yes, the bank ATMs (BOA & WF) close their doors at 5pm. You have to walk BLOCKS to grab cash and to come back. Lastly, the security guards are rude. They were shouting out, “If you have a tickets you can come right to the front, and if you don’t then IDK what to tell you” to the 50+ people waiting in line in the drizzling rain, this was inconsiderate & inappropriate. Mind you the security guards at the entrance are eating pizza, smoking cigarettes, and completely disregarding the crowd. My suggestions for management are: 1. Allow ALL paying customers admission into the venue. Do NOT make them wait in the drizzling rain for 1-2 hours when there are BARELY people going inside with a ticket. 2. Let customers pay via CashApp OR allow paying customers to use their cards/Apple Pay to purchase tickets at the door. It’s 2021. 3. Do not use Covid as an excuse to not allow people in when you’re going to let them in regardless. 4. Hire new security guards. I am very disappointed in this venue. Hopefully by next week they’ll at least have CashApp.

Charles P.: I love this place but the girl working the ticket booth at about 10:45 on 3/25 couldn’t believe that I didn’t realize it was an offsite ticket for Pot-Pan. She was pretty rude. I get being worn down by the end of the night, but to be in such a way 45 minutes into her shift was impressive. Or depressive? Muuuuust be rough. Not for her. But for the people who have to work with her.

Louis V: Great place to go out and dance. I met a lot of nice people and had a lot of fun. Music was awesome, drink was excellent and not so expansive.

Fern M: During this pandemic time, Flash has turn its rooftop space to a sit down place for Electronic music lover. Reservation is required for seats with 90 mins time limited. Same regulation of wearing mask, remain seated etc. are applied. Sandwiches menu are added along with drink menu. It seems like drinks were customized for fall season, we tried all the cocktails on the menu but only 2 we like( don’t remember the name.) It was ok, we were happy to help support the place and at the end of the night, we ordered our favorite drinks out of menu instead. The staff are super nice and attentive, ask them question regarding to the venue if you want to know more. The merchandise downstairs is for purchase helping support the place. Ask staff for the website or if you have problem access it like I did, they accept cash. They said they might open for brunch with live DJ on set. If we all keep supporting this business, I’m sure we will get to have one of the coolest brunch place in DC soon. Review as of 09/2020

Bryan Thomas: I was refused entry specifically because I had a suit on. You read that correctly. They apparently have an absurd 'no suit' policy—one bouncer said I may check my suit jacket but another chimed in and said I actually couldn't, which the initial bouncer seemed confused by but conceded. I honestly thought they were joking. When I asked why, they said, "In case you get a drink spilled on you." Such a bizarre experience that I couldn't help but be amused rather than offended in the moment. Told the story to others who confirmed it had happened to a friend of theirs too. About a decade ago, Flash was an amazing venue but it's become tragically pretentious. That's not what House music is about, which is the biggest shame.

Nicholas Caudill: Maybe it’s my fault for showing up too late, but if the doors open at 10PM and the headliner is already gone by midnight that isn’t a real party. Cool building though

Lisa Mayberry: Loved that they have a Cuban rum bar with my favorite drinks! Cool little kind of hidden bar. I did not try the food, just went for the cocktails. Server warned us of the pre-included gratuity. Warning though, if you don't like cigar smoke you won't like it if someone decides to light up a cigar from their collection. The outside bar at least does allow smoking. There is a cover over the alley way allowing light in but no rain. Several air units and fans make it better.

Quauhtli Olivieri: Love this spot! Whether you are looking for just drinks, drinks and small plates, or you want a Latin dancing spot, this is a great spot.Main indoor area turns into club dancing spot at 10pm on the weekends.

Melanie Rodriguez: I spent hours searching for restaurants to take my family too while we were on vacation. I came across Casta's Rum Bar and was extremely excited to give this place a try. When I got there, I was utterly disgusted with the entrance to the restaurant. There was trash right by the entrance and disgusting garbage leakage where we had to walk. When I walked in, I thought maybe it would get better but it really didn't. They placed us in an area that was extremely hot. I was drenched in sweat. This is something I would expect for outdoor but it was indoor. When ordering the food, I thought it was extremely overpriced and I was right especially once we received our meals. They were not worth any price that was listed. The empanadas were 2 for $12. While that would have been an okay price to pay if they were outstanding empanadas, these were subpar and quite dry. Then before we can even finish it and without asking for our permission, one of the staff came and took the plate. While the manager tried to reconcile by comping that portion of the meal, the damage was already done. Additionally, forcing customers to pay 20% gratuity for poor service is unacceptable. I could understand if the group was large, their was only 3 of us. Lastly, I was not made aware that this was a smoking area and was very displeased having to be exposed to another person's cigar smoke. Beyond disappointed and would not recommend.

Arielle H: Great atmosphere and even better staff & food. Though we only got appetizers (empanadas and Cuban soup) they were delicious. Also Oscar our host was so nice & knowledgeable. Definitely recommend the rum flights & a smooth cigar to go with them.

Tasha Fuller: That was some good eatin’ at Casta's Rum Bar last night. Shrimp, ribs, bacon wrapped plantains with cheese, empanadas and a classic Cuban hit the bill and our belly’s. You gotta check it out.

My party and I were so pleased with their patience, attentiveness, and how fun they made my birthday! I can’t wait to go back and again thank you Francisco and Tatiana!

Michael Furmaniuk: Nice little gem! Great rum flights and mojitos, the Black Hummus even got my wife to like plantain chips. Felipe was awesome! Lots of varieties of rum, (try a flight!), and the appetizers are a good pairing.

Brianna Villa: This place is just absolutely fantastic. I was staying at the hotel upstairs and it was just so convenient to not have to leave to enjoy myself. I came here every single night that I stayed at this hotel because I felt safe and welcomed. Frankie was the absolute best bartender he gave me great service each night and was just so kind. The food was great too I had the medianoche each day. The Thursday night DJ, she was female and I cannot recall her name, but that was probably the most fun I’ve ever had at a bar on a Thursday night. Friday night music was not as great with the other gentleman but nonetheless Frankie Gave amazing service and it was just a good time. Thank you so much

Richard Nelson: Overall a nice experience. Drinks tasted good. It didn't smell to smokey when we went. The empanadas tasted good, however you only got two and they were a little pricey for only have two. The vibe was nice. Great little bar.

Wisteria McNeil: Really great music. However, they said it was Colombian night, but I heard more bad bunny than I did Joe Arroyo. Not much cumbia either. Still great music and a fun time. Drinks are expensive, but it's downtown DC

Dondré: Solid brunch spot. They do offer a bottomless brunch special. The food was really good. Our waiter was nice, this place gets packed for brunch, they do have lots of seating though. It's well decorated and gives off very chill vibes.

Pascal Johnstone: We went to Toro Toro after our plans for dinner at another restaurant fell through, and we could not have been more impressed! Our starter, the guacamole served with tuna tartare, was unexpectedly satisfying and proved a good prelude to the main meal consisting of salmon and the signature burger. Both were excellent, and the burger in particular was reasonably priced for a sizeable portion. The salmon was also delicious. After our meal, the manager offered us free dessert as well as coupons for two free drinks and an appetiser at our next visit. We will definitely be back the next time we visit DC!

Zerena Volcy: Service was a little slow at first but we came at a busy time however the food (unlimited brunch service) was very good. I would recommend it to my friends. The host Pandu provided excellent service to guest and ourselves he was taking responsibilities that were not in his host job description. He is great every restaurant needs his energy and attitude.

The Social Diplomat: Toro Toro is a good spot for Latin Night on a Friday night. The crowd is balanced, the drinks are good, the DJ's are on point. Get here early, because the dance floor get's packed. For guys not used to dancing Latin music, take a class or you will suffer rejection by not knowing how to dance. Go to Bachata Brunch at Public Bar live for 3 weeks of Sunday lessons to build up confidence. The girl to guy ratio is decent except from Dec.-Feb, the crowd slows down. Chela Williams: I visited this establishment for winter restaurant week in 2016. When we arrived business was kind of slow. Our waiter was nice and accommodating. Very informative with explaining the dishes to me and my mother. I'm used to tapa style restaurants.....She isn't. The food was different but very good! She usually doesn't be venture out so if she likes it you know it was good. She even brought it up about two weeks ago asking about the name. I believe I was full when I left. It's expensive but the food it worth it.

Hilda Kroll: A good place for a reasonably priced lunch. The first time I ate here there was a fabulous buffet. The last time, the special was unlimited tapas. Now the $20 lunch special includes one antojito and one salad or sandwich. I chose the braised short rib arepa and the Cubano sandwich. Located a couple of blocks from the National Museum for Women in the Arts and close to Metro Center, it's worth a visit.

Ap Queen: 4-11-19 My Best Friend and I Met up for Lunch and checked out Toro Toro. We ordered the Appetizers of both Empanadas De choclo & De Lomo Saltado, and the Tempura Mahi Mahi Tacos. As The Main Dishes we ordered the Pan Seared Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Arroz Chaufa (Fried rice with steak, chicken, chorizo) and Chili-Lime & Cotija French Fries. Everything was so Pretty displayed while being sat carefully on the table definitely ate with our eyes and amazed even from far away you noticed the colors. The Flavors were all in a flavor haven of their own no seasoning at all was needed. Not too salty or under salted, listen honeyyyy!!! restaurants can definitely take cue from Toro Toro with having the just right amount of seasonings it was so balanced to perfection. The Salmon was so tender my best friend even questioned what she was doing wrong when she makes salmon at home because it was so moist but still crisp and flakey. While everything was great !! Those Mahi Mahi Tacos with the Chipotle-Paprika Aoli was to Die for you listening Foodie ppl. The fish was meaty, the crisp from the tempura was still crisp even after sitting for a little bit. The Chipotle-Paprika Aoli was EVERYTHING!!! just enough kick =) such a excellent choice. If I was dying and I had to choose a last meal just give me a huge plate of those!! And a cherry coke extra cherries and I'd die Happy as hell lol. My Waitress was awesome she made me a sprite mixed with lemonade then we joked about adding Vodka tho since she seen my card beforehand. She kept my glass refilled, constantly checking the table to make sure we were Good. Lastly for dessert we had the La Bomba experience SoOo cool to watch!! Churros with chocolate soOo super soft and tres le ches everything split up. It was my Best friends first time at Toro Toro and she really enjoyed it and the Food Options fit her no meat palette so I was glad she was able to experience The Toro Toro way!! Lol ... We even set a plan to get together 2 times a month so we definitely will be back!!! Especially Meeee for those Mahi Mahi Tacos!! on the way out I told the manager don't ever get rid of those tacos no matter what. So THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BEST EXPERIENCE.

Janay W: Cute place! Shout out to our server Edgar and bartender bae Matt at the bar! It was super busy as we went for Saturday brunch but the service and food was great! The drinks were amazing!! Bathrooms were cute and clean. The only meh experience was a very tall employee who dismissed me when I asked him to take a picture... Despite that Edgar was super attentive and supportive as was Matt and the other wait staff. Will visit again for sure!

Matt Conrad: I walked into JR's this afternoon to sit and do some work, while I figured out where I'd stay tonight. I was having a fine time, in the mostly empty bar, with music videos streaming above. My service dog sat directly beside me. About 45 minutes and two beers in, a man approached me from behind and tapped me on the shoulder. As I turned, he immediately told me I would need to move to a corner of the bar, because the bar was going to get crowded and my dog could get stepped on. While I appreciate his desire to protect my service animal, I told him that I did not want to move since there was less than 15 people at the spacious bar at the time. He snapped and told me he didn't want to hear about it when my dog got hurt. I didn't understand. I was literally sitting at the bar doing work, which I wouldn't have been able to do if the bar was out-of-hand, and a stranger starts telling me I need to get out of the main bar area. I asked him to calm down and told him he was coming at me wrong. He got defensive and so I asked if he owned the bar or was just a bouncer trying to prepare for crowd control. He informed me he was a co-owner of the bar. I asked do you know the law regarding disabilities and service animals? He didn't respond. Instead he just came back aggressively with an insult. I told him I'd be happy to show him the law if he wasn't familiar. He said, "I'm done here" and stormed off. I asked the bartender if this person really was a co-owner, and he said yes. I cannot believe the owner's behavior and shortness with a customer, especially one who chose his establishment after reading how welcoming it was to those in the LGBTQ community. I was unaware because I'm from NJ and have been driving for the past three days stopping along the way to rest. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The owner's actions are a clear violation of the ADA and frankly hurtful. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I expect more. I expect patience and understanding from owners in our community, not aggression. I ask anyone who reads this to consider if this is a place they want to support going forward. I have PTSD. Not because I chose it or want, but bc I endured years of child abuse. And my dog is my companion. We need to respect each other better and it starts with those in leadership positions!

Thomas Romberg: Jr's are like family to me . They are great and friendly and they will look out for you . They were there for me when I drank way too much . That place is the first place.that I came out of the closet . I love there showtumes and drag queen shows . They go all out .

Peyton Doyle: JR's is a staple of the DC gay scene. It is fairly spacious, with friendly bartenders, cheap drink deals, fantastic music (plus music videos!), a nice crowd in a great location. Not much to complain about!

Clint Davis: It was heartbreaking to see how far JR’s has gone downhill over the past few years. I was there recently with friends and it was filthy and lifeless compared to the many years that it was my “gay Cheers” bar. Someone needs to take over management (or ownership) and breathe some life into what should be a shining jewel of festiveness on 17th Street. Perhaps the owners or management of Annie’s should take over.

William Critz: I think I will visit again (been living in Baltimore for too many years). Used to live across the street, and I always LOVE JR's. Many years ago I was the first person to order a sandwich there, and it was awesome! Also met 3 different boyfriends there MAGNIFICENT !!!

Alexander Gomez: Ever since Jr's has been under new management, the bar is now an even more welcoming, fun and relaxing atmosphere. I often come here for great music and nice drinks that are affordable for the area. The staffs are friendly, courteous and awesome!!

Lamar Kelliehan: The Griselda concert was live!!!!! Echostage is not huge, so for the price I paid I was way closer than I feel like I should've been. The pics I posted were right before Griselda came out we worked out way way closer to the front. Had a blast going back very soon. Also no violence after the show so that was cool too.

Stefan Kowalewski: Great venue!! I was very impressed by the staff and the cleanliness of Echostage! The staff is very well organized and helpful. The venue is kept clean and well laid out. There's no obstructed view from the main floor, which is awesome! The merch counter is in the corner, out of the way. Restrooms are either side of the building. There is a long bar on one side of the venue. They do have a coat check which is very nice - $5 pet item. I look forward to attending more events at Echostage!

Gavin Chen: Spectacular venue for electronic music. Strict security (goes through wallets). Free water if you walk up to the security near the stages. A lot of bathroom space available. Great audio quality and open space for dancing.

Nik Lathia: I love Echostage! The layout is ideal for concerts and there's easy access to the bar areas for drinks or water. The bathrooms are easily accessible and have plenty of stalls to accommodate large groups. Really well designed venue and the lights and sounds were awesome!

Charlie Butchko: It was awesome! I got to see DJ Diesel (Shaq) perform life. The bathrooms are very clean, with attendants there to soap your hands and hand you paper towels. As well as that, was close to the front during the performance and there was staff handing water bottles out to the crowd. I got a few drinks at the bar (tequila sunrise and 2 shots of vodka,) each were $10. By the end of the show it got pretty crowded, so if you’re claustrophobic make sure to mentally prepare yourself, or stay further away from the stage. All else aside, for sure gather a group of buddies and find a show you like to check out echostage!

Millennial Max: I've lost count of the times I been here! First time I crowd surfed 😂 and I'm a big boy.. Just saw Excision and it was SURREAL, would definitely recommend Just make sure you're good with transportation!

So Maryn: The dress code here for DJ events seem to gravitate toward “less is more” or think “beach attire”. Pants optional in the sense that bikini bottoms are acceptable as minimum bottom half. Shirt optional for some men. Beware of “bikini trains” moving quickly through a crowd. Noticed an innocent couple who got divided instantly by a train of arrogant bikini wearing club goers. If you don’t pay attention such bikini trains can step on your foot as they stampede you by. Forgot to bring my glow sticks but it was nice to see some colorful glow shoes and even glow fingertips. First level has an open wide space and second level has table service. Restrooms are easy to find and each stall has a note to remind those that only one person per stall is allowed. Once you get in past thorough security it’s not easy to get out as although exit signs are marked, where to actually exit from a lane perspective is hard to find. Parking is challenging near the venue and expect to pay $40-60 right next door. Echostage I thought you were a top notch global venue but you fell short when it comes to servicing your global clientele. An Asian bartender refused to serve us drinks at the bar even when we were standing right in front of her with no one else around. She did however serve others who approached after us asking them what they want. She seemed to be racially profiling my friend who was wearing a religious head covering. We found another bartender who was much more friendlier and we still had fun.

Aaron Shenk: This was my first time at this venue, and I was so so impressed. We saw Chelsea Cutler, and the venue and staff were so great. For starters, there were so many staff on hand to answer any questions and there was plenty of security to keep everyone feeling safe. For the actual experience, the sound system was phenomenal, the security guards passed out water bottles to the crowed between performances (!!!) and just went above and beyond the entire time. I will definitely plan on returning to this venue!

Juani S: Got there at 2pm Didnt eat until 2:50 because our order wasnt taken until 15 minutes after our arrival. Overall service was not pleasant. The waitress smelt like she had been drinking Mimosa's all morning! And she was kind of rude. Food was okay, nice portions. I wouldnt come here again! They need more cooks and wait staff :o/

alex slater: Favorite Saturday afternoon hangout. Great food- one of the few in the city with a real Puerto Rican dish on the menu, and the Ropa Vieja is perfect. Come for the food, stay for the Caipirinha's and people-watching. Service always with a smile. Somehow this place always ends up really expensive though. So be careful with those Mojitos.

Ben Wimmer: I haven't had their food yet but I've stopped in to Rumba Cafe on two separate occasions (both very hot days) and I've had their mojitos and caipirinhas. Very good stuff. The bartenders have been friendly and the food looks good. Their caipirinhas are some of the best I've had anywhere.

Joseph Townsend: Excellent mojito, had the pork and pineapple which came with rice, beans and plantain, really good stuff. Cool atmosphere as well, a little pricey but remains good value.

Ademir Vrolijk: Great (oldies) music, tasty plantain tapas, amazing mojitos. Limited seating and small-ish dancefloor are the only negatives worth mentioning. Definitely heading back there.

Natalia Castro: Great menu for everybody! Flavors, place and service are awesome!! Full plate and great prices! Specially in happy hour! :-) I definitely will be back!!!
