Masseria: what do users think?

Ryan Montoya: This was the best meal I’ve had with my wife in Washington DC, and I can’t believe it was take out. The staff were very friendly and professional and allowed me to wait at the bar for my pickup order. At home the meal included heating and preparation tips which was an excellent touch. A lot of care was put into how well the food would travel and reheat and the restaurant did an amazing job. Every course was perfect and my wife and I were stunned at how transcendent every single component was. We were remiss because we’ve always wanted to eat here in person but both the pandemic and getting childcare has prevented us. After this experience we will absolutely order again and hopefully be able to finally dine in person soon. I can’t recommend their “a casa” service enough, and also recommend adding their desert course.

Renee Ethier: Masseria didn’t disappoint. I had a lovely birthday dinner here. The service was top notch, the restaurant was beautiful, and the food and drinks were amazing. We added the foie gras mini cannoli, which was SO worth it. They even sent us on our way with a gift bag with some goodies. Everything was perfect.

Micah Robinson: Confusing upsell process when you first arrive. Most dishes were good — not great — but not particularly voluminous (inflation, I’m sure). The duck was NOT good. Tough. Tasted like it was pulled out of the Anacostia after subsisting off mud water and cigarette butts for a lifetime. There was a pickled carrot that was quite tasty. If it had been just a little larger than half a cashew (see photo with circle), then Masseria would be cruising at four stars for me. The desserts were good no doubt. We came hungry. We left … still pretty hungry. But we “checked that one off the list 🤡.” Not to rag too hard on the restaurant — maybe it was an off night — but I polled my partner after the meal: “Would you have been more satisfied with that for $500 or a gut-bomb Chipotle burrito bowl for $30, using the remaining $470 for two months of a personal trainer for two to kick the burrito bowl?” Of course, it was an obvious choice for her. Hope this helps. Gotta run to meet the personal trainer!

abigail snoznik: Masseria was one of my favorite tasting menus in DC. We sat at the chef’s counter and got the tasting menu and wine pairing. The meal starts with a homemade kombucha and only gets better. We had 8 dishes beginning with bread, and following up with various plates including a fish, octopus, 2 pastas, and duck. I especially loved the beet dish and linguine (I really really loved the linguine.) They finish things off with a gift bag including some desserts and olive oil. Atmosphere and service were both great. 5 stars.

Naresh Singh: Birthday lunch. This is probably the most unique Italian spot I’ve experienced so far and it’s obvious why they earned a Michelin star. Ambiance is great inside and the outdoor seating area is a nice touch. Cigars are available outside too!

C Hanlon: We have dined at Masseria several times for celebrations and special occasions and enjoyed it, so we had booked tonight for a birthday dinner. We just received a call midday to let us know that they had suddenly decided to close the restaurant and cancel our reservation. Nothing was offered as an apology such as some type of credit or incentive for the future, even after explaining this was for a special occasion and it would be difficult to find a reservation at a similar place on the same day. We understand that it is a stressful time, but this is a high end, expensive restaurant that requires its guests to book, pay, and confirm in advance and does not allow them to cancel on the same day. There are many wonderful tasting menu options available in DC but what sets them apart is the service, and this was truly disappointing customer service.

Ryan Kaminsky: Food was great, service was pretty terrible. Price was not worth the meal.

Sandeep Wilkhu: Excellent experienceWe sat in the bar because we did not have reservations. But our waitress Addison was so very excellent she made it an excellent experience. I would go back to the bar seating.

Charli Knows How To Eat: A very good friend of mine treated me to this very fancy dining experience. It was so amazing. I would recommend this restaurant for special events or celebrations. It is quite expensive however the service is great and the food is even better. I convinced my date that I’d like my own steak however I did not know they give you such large portions which is a first to see in a upscale restaurant like this. Nonetheless it was so tender and evenly cooked I ate every single piece !

raymond burgos: The service and hospitality are on par with the best in the world with amiable and capable staff. The presentation and food are excellent. The decor is well-suited to a high-end establishment and will make you break into a smile as soon as you walk in. The portions are good, not more significant portions - this is a tasting restaurant. Quality over quantity!

Des KF: My boyfriend and I had reservations for this restaurant for my birthday. When we arrived we walked in and was greeted by the hostess and she sat us. The tables were super close to one another which was the only downfall. Tim was our waiter and he was so nice and attentive. We started with drinks and I got the Spritz and Giggles, it was weak but it was tasty. For my entrée I got the king crab with squid ink pasta and that was good. My boyfriend got the shrimp scampi pasta and he really enjoyed it. Tim gave us a cheesecake because we waited for a while to get drinks and that was so nice and it was so tasty. I also slid in that it was my birthday and he gave me a small, cute dessert to sing happy birthday. I really enjoyed my time, the ambiance was great and so was the food and service.

Lin Dinh: dim, upbeat ambiance with upscale cocktails— perfect spot for a bourgeois night out. plates were tapas size but the perfect portions. the mushroom pizza was by far the best pizza I’ve ever had. the short ribs were also superb. love it here!

MADDART: It was my first time dining here. I ordered a New York strip which was about 16 ounces.(a lot bigger than I expected from an upscale restaurant. It was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. The server was a bit forgetful about a couple requests I had made for pepper and silverware. I had to ask several times. Other than that the setting was great and I enjoyed my time there.

H. Ibdah: Amazing service. Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. We went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The waiter was theatrically impressive. The food was outstanding. We tried many dishes, I only took a photo of the main courses. I highly recommend the octopus for a starter. For the main we had the lobster pasta, meatballs, steak and side dishes. Great for romantic dinners and for outing with friends.

john Dickerson: Reservation required, proof of covid vaccination with ID valet available $20. Service was outstanding John was our waiter, and he did a great job everything was swift and on time. The food was delicious, for appetizers we Truffled Garlic Bread Parmigiano-reggiano, 1/2 dozen half Shell oyster, truffle and parmesan cheese pizza, Big Eye Tuna Bruschetta Basil Aioli garlic toast, the main was Lobster Fra DiavolobCalabrian chili & tomato and Short Rib Bolognese Pappardelle, Rosemary. For dessert we had Tiramisu Whipped mascarpone & coffee.

Imani: The decor was nice. We liked our dishes but were not a fan of how soft the meatballs were. The plates were also small. We started off with a spritz for our drinks but sent it back because it was very sweet. We ordered a Paloma instead which was very delicious. The reasons for the star decrease was the hostess. We asked if we could move our table and she tried to explain the seating arrangements but made a condescending remark by saying “does that make sense” with a slight attitude which was very noticeable by the both of us.

Mastro's Steakhouse: what do users think?

John Darden: The steaks were cooked just right. Our waiter was polite and make our evening more enjoyable. The lobster mash potatoes had plenty of lobster meat; however, it was oily. If you like lemon drops then you should definitely try theirs because of the taste and presentation. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were huge. We had added crab meat to one of the steaks; however, we felt as though the restaurant could have included more meat relative to the cost of the dish but it was good. You can pay your bill using your phone. That was a nice touch (no need to wait for someone to come back to you) We plan on coming back.

Jaela Ford: This review is strictly for the waitress named Nicole. We would have given 5 stars if she did not taint our experience in the beginning. We were told by the hostess that she would be our “wonderful” waitress. She also came over to bring us menus and ask our water preference as if she was our waitress. However, for some odd reason the waiter was switched. When she was acting as our waitress, she was extremely short when answering our questions & seemed as though she did not want to be bothered. She also never introduced herself. We had to ask our new waiter for her name. There was absolutely nothing positive about her. It was as if she had pre judged us just because we were a table of young black women. Thankfully, our new waiter Phillip came over and saved the night. He was super welcoming and helpful. He answered all of our questions with a smile. His customer service was top tier! The drinks and food were also amazing! Thank you Phillip!
Response: Hi Jaela. Thank you for choosing to dine with us, as we know you could have chosen anywhere to enjoy your meal. We are always looking for ways to improve, and would appreciate any feedback you would be willing to provide at the link below. http://ms.spr.ly/6260wuAhs

Mary McKay: We couldn’t have chosen a better establishment to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. From the food to the service, everything was exceptional. The service size of everything is huge! You could definitely share every course and spend half the money…or if your like us, we enjoy the left overs the best day 😍.
Response: Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us. Your satisfaction is our priority, and as affirmed by your review, we pride ourselves on our exceptional service. We sure hope to see you again soon!

Renee M: Sooo...the wagyu steak was delicious and the seared scallops were the BEST I have ever had! The sear on both dishes was perfect, the flavors were on point, and the meat melted in my mouth like butter! The drinks were CRAZY good, like strong, but made with appreciation for the full flavor profile vs just the liquor. Our server, Rice, aka the Tony Baker look a like was on it. He was very attentive and gave us great suggestions. We have 4 sides, 2 were bomb and 2 were not. The roasted brussels a sprouts and the cream spinach were tasty. The cream corn was gross and the lobster mac was under whelming. For $40 a side I would like more flavor. The atmosphere was cool. The live singer was entertaining and awkward. I would go back just to chill at the bar.
Response: Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. It means so much when our customers share their experiences. We are glad we were able to meet your expectations! We hope to see you again soon!

Fiola Mare: what do users think?

Richard Holst: Elegant and delicious. Everything is gears towards an excellent experience. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. The restaurant has many quiet and corners with the perfect atmosphere. It is well organized and very clean, every inch has amazing details. The food and drink selection is extensive and everything we had was prepared to perfection. The views of the water are amazing and there are plenty of things to walk to in the area. We will be back here often.

Dario Camilo Barros Viñas: 5 stars for real in every aspect. It has both a very fancy area indoor and a fancy yet relaxed area in the patio. The service was amazing, the food was superb, the cocktails were delicious and generous. Canver the manager was very kind and served us the calamari complementary make us feel even better served! I didn’t know the Branzino taste this good until I tried it here. We were only two so we couldn’t try more plates but do yourself a favor and try Fiola Mare!

Christopher Gillespie: All about the dining experience here, they go above and beyond. Did the bottomless brunch with amazing views. Brunch at this level of execution will be very tough to match. The blue fin ahi could be best bites of 2022 to date. The scallop crudo was melt in the mouth. Worth the price of admission.

Pe Lin (Cilibluebird): A five star seafood restaurant that deserves the five star. Great for special events minimum 50 USD per per person, but well deserved. Hakan was our server and he made this experience exceptional. Pasta’s are excellent. Georgetown next to water. Outside seating is great in the evenings of hot summers.

Roz Manning: Fabulous venue for our intimate wedding dinner with family. The Mermaid Room and adjoining patio were perfect. The appetizers were delicious, dinner was delectable and service superb.

Mike: Easter brunch was amazing. Staff, as always, is fantastic.Intro: watercress soup and the other dish white asparagus.Mains: blue crab omelette and Australian lamb.Glad to see that a packed restaurant. Make reservations!

Alemselam Tekeba: So delicious food. Everything is gears towards an excellent experience. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. The restaurant don’t have an Apple Pay, since me and my wife use’s almost everywhere and one additional thing wore if you don’t have an ID card you can’t be served alcohol even if we look adults we felt uncomfortable but we used other credit cards to pay and we cancel my wife’s wine order. The views of the water are amazing and there are plenty of things to walk to in the area.

Tash M: Had a private dinner here and it was an exceptional experience. The food was lovely, so was the service. Special thanks to Darina for being so attentive and providing an especially memorable experience.

Sadhana G: Went to this beautiful place for brunch on a Sunday. The food was a whole new level of excitement! Presentation and quality of the food and the good ambience set the right tone for the weekend. But the only setback was the price. We had an Egg frittata, chicken and waffles and Egg Benedict-crab ( the chef special) and it cost us 70$. A great place to grab finger food in a cute setting !

Garner Marshall: Excellent breakfast spot. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking is pretty scarce around the area. Staff is excellent. Good is delicious. Music is diverse. Location is convenient. This is going to be one of my new favorite breakfast spots.

Mariia Sarlayan: Wonderful food, amazing service, beautiful interior, pleasant vibe. A bit pricey for brunch but worth it. I wish more tables outside had umbrellas for shades but even then the experience was memorable.
Response: Mariia, We are definitely wowwed by your amazing review and grateful for your comments. I hope we'll see you again soon, for another memorable experience! Please be safe and well until then. Sincerely, Anastasiia Firefly General Manager

Linden Yee: Solid brunch, overall recommend. The eggs on the benedict were pretty undercooked but the flavors were good, and the chicken and waffles were really well seasoned. Service was pretty slow, and the staff seemed to be up against a lot. While the waiter was great, they appeared to be the only one working the entire restaurant.

Khadija Khan: The restaurant has changed a lot since the last time I was here! Really friendly staff and nice ambiance! My favorite was the peanut butter and jelly French toast with the jalapeño honey! It’s an Interesting combo but I really liked it. Our server recommended a really yummy mocktail! The food was a little pricey so I’m not sure if I’ll be visiting again any time soon, but the dishes were innovative and delicious.
Response: Khadija, Thank you for the great review and the photos you shared from your recent visit at Firefly. Love to hear the our food and service left a great impression. I do hope you'll come abck again soon. Warmest Regards, Anastasiia, General Manager, Firefly

idcwhatcoloritis: This had to be an off night cause the place was interesting. The old arcade games were cool and our waitress did her best with a terrible situation. Two of our three meals were barely warm at best and cold at worst. The other was basically frozen salmon from a grocery store on what looked like Couscous but was actually rice some how. They nuked our food in the microwave and brought it back out. The vegan burger both smelled and tasted like fish. Completely inedible. All in all, the food was terrible all around. The only plus to this experience was the owner who took both meals off our bill and bought us a round of shots to make up for it after there POS system went down. We saw at least 10 plates go back to the kitchen while we were there. I don’t think this is normal cause most of the people there seemed like regulars and were super confused by there food. I think it was an off night but I don’t think any of my group will be returning.
Response: Greetings, Thank you for your feedback I just would like to double check, is this review for Firefly Restaurant located at 1310 New Hampshire Ave NW Washington DC. We don’t have old arcade games at our restaurant. Thank you Anastasiia Hehelska Restaurant GM

Lisa Mayberry: Cute little place for brunch out of the way in a hotel down New Hampshire Street. Outside patio seating is nice for a cool day with the umbrella up.
Response: Lisa, Thank you for your recent visit to Firefly and the excellent review. We could not agree more, the Terrace is a great place to relax, people watch and enjoy one (or two) of our amazing cocktails. Please come back soon! Sincerely, Anastasiia Firefly General Manager

Brittany H: Dinner here was exceptional. Service staff was amazing. We did the harvest menu where you get to pick 4 items yourself and the chef picks the others for you. We had not one complaint. Every dish was delicious. Some of our favorites were the Eggplant Mousse, Langoustine, Childhood(Pasta), Farmers Steak(Wagyu)& the Sweet Beginnings(Pumpkin Spice "Latte," Honeynut Squash Gelato). It felt like by the end of the night we must of had 15+ dishes. Oh and the cocktails! Such an experience. Highly recommend ordering their specialty cocktails. It is like nothing you’ve experience before! Super creative & fun. Needless to say, you definitely get your moneys worth and will not leave hungry or unhappy. It was an amazing experience and we can’t wait to go back next time we’re in D.C.!

Hazel Sun: The yurt experience was beautiful. The design of the dishes, taste, and presentation were all creative and thoughtful. Also the portion sizes are very generous. The food itself was good, not amazing considering the price. But consider everything it’s worth the ticket. My favorite part was the pasta, mind-blowing. Not so impressed with my pork chop entry. The chickpea part was amazing, the pork itself was a bit boring.

Stacey King: Start to finish, a great experience with the tasting menu. But we were not as thrilled with the wine pairing. For $150 each we got 5 maybe 2-3 oz pours. And we were only delighted by one of the wines. But the service was outstanding.

nora a: my husband surprised me with a birthday dinner here and let me tell you, best food experience ever for the both of us. Everyone was so nice, the chef was very accommodating with our food substitutes and everything was perfect. It felt like a party in my mouth with every bite, so delicious! Will be back. Thank you again.

Dylan Prévost: Absolutely delightful celebration of spring. Fiola focuses heavily on local and seasonal produce, highlighting their selections in their written and spoken descriptions. The yurt was beautifully adorned, with good heating and options for ventilation, and came with its own little speaker, playing tasteful international music. Overall, we loved the atmosphere and the stunning diversity of the courses. Presentation of the dishes was clearly important to the chefs, truly eye candy when it arrives. The service was excellent and I was delighted to be offered a complementary dessert, based on the occasion we were celebrating. While we were impressed with most of the dishes, some fell short of excellence. Winners: the amouse bouche, seafood broth spaghetti antipasto, calabrian chili gremolata, au jus served in a burnt onion Less satisfied: dry/firm entree meats, a tiramisu whose chocolateyness was much too overpowering (despite its otherwise fun and novel style choices)

David Thomson: Best staff anywhere. Most of the courses were perfectly balanced. The peach and heirloom tomato gazpacho was my favorite.

Katsuyoshi Okuna: Elegant Italian cuisine. Wine list is amazing!

Tulsi: We had an amazing late birthday celebration at Fiola. They went above and beyond to make the evening special and memorable. The cupcakes they made for the occasion were the best we could remember - to die for. Whoever is running the pastry/baking and pastas knows what they’re doing! The seafood and cheese courses were also a highlight. Will def be back to try new items from their a la carte and wine list! Thank you to everyone involved in our meal ❤️🙂.

Al Tiramisu: what do users think?

Morgan Conners: This was the best experience for me and my family. The wonderful staff was able to accommodate us (6 people) for a same day dinner reservation on a Saturday. From the moment we walked in the door, I knew everything would be perfect. The atmosphere was quaint and authentic. The staff was very friendly. The food and wine was delicious. I wish I had an Italian restaurant like this where I live. Nothing but wonderful feelings about this place, I can’t wait to come back.

Alina Y: We loved the food and the attentive service, but what’s up with the handwritten mandatory 20% gratuity ??? A fee is only permissible if the policy is made abundantly clear to the customers before the order is placed, but we were never notified. To be honest I am fine with restaurants including tips on the bill, but talk about the audacity to write the tips on my behalf… no thanks…

Arash Tavakoli: We tried their Tiramisu and it was bet ween OK and good. I was not impressed by it but I would say it was just OK or maybe good. Definitely not bad. A little bit over priced IMO.

Melissa Greenstein: Wonderful staff, easy to make a reservation for a larger group, fantastic food... simple Italian, not overly heavy, but amazingly good

William Gant: Nice quiet place with good food and excellent service. They have some outdoor dinning space. The staff there is very friendly and make good suggestions regarding the menu. The portions are plentiful and the flavor is very good. Their desserts are a must.

Nick Somers: The staff, oh my goodness the staff. They are peak excellence, they are attentive , they are kind, they are respectful, and they are by the standard of fancy. The food , exceptional. The wine, outstanding. The atmosphere is like a family dinner in your rich uncles house. I will be reserving a table next time I am in DC

Equinox Restaurant: what do users think?

Joshua Wiley: Went here for one of my many birthday dinners. As a new vegetarian this place definitely had a menu with me in mind. I was stuffed when I left. We had the menu with five courses and enjoyed every single one of them. Amazing. Would definitely go again, don’t know the price because i didn’t pay. 😇

Archana Raju: This place has been on my must try restaurants list forever, and finally made it on my birthday. We tried the five course meal. While each dish was carefully thought through and well presented, I think the beet salad didn’t really work (it was bitter) and grilled eggplant was a bit bland. Though I don’t typically enjoy mushrooms as much, I was blown by the Hen of mushrooms dish, and absolute winner. Overall, I would recommend this place!

Sunny Sanghani: Enjoyed the vegan brunch menu; lots of food and all tasted great.

Angela Su: We came for restaurant week and it was a great deal! Loved the plant based options. We had to wait 15 min for our table after we arrived on time for our reservation but it was worth it once we were seated. The mushroom dish was delicious and the portions for all courses were huge. Definitely ended the meal full and satisfied.

Henry Jones: A friend of my family told me ages ago to eat sometime at Equinox. I finally did this evening and am so glad. I had the truffled macaroni and cheese to begin, which was served in a mini cast iron vessel and tasted of cheese and herbs in a way that I could never achieve at home. Then I had the fennel-spiced Mediterranean turbot filet. The staff were very proud of the turbot—one saw it as he walked past and said, “oh you ordered the turbot,” with a big smile. If I were on the staff of a place that served food like this, I would be very proud, too. The turbot was meaty, slightly flaky, and golden on top. It was served on a bed of spinach, a carrot, roasted heart of palm, and braised endive, and there was an orange sauce. It was garnished with fried rings which I think were potatoes and there were red berries, too. I was there for an early dinner, having planned for a long afternoon at the National Gallery followed by early dinner before the final leg of a train trip from NYC to Virginia. The staff made sure the timing was right for me to get to the train and that I knew how to get to Union Station. What thoughtful people and exquisite food. I can hardly wait to eat at Equinox again.

Celal Gulluoglu: Fine dining? Please first repair the failing of the bathroom. Service was below average. They were carrying the beverage with their bare hands and holding the soup bowls on top of the bowls. Not even under it. Automatically added gratuity which is not written at anywhere. Full price charge for the kids under 10 years old? Tasting brunch menu was definitely not worth the price. Desserts were horrible. They were literally sliced protein bar, store bought mini cupcakes and coconut bites and they call it Brandi’s assorted desserts. Felt like scammed. Will never return 👎

The Girls: The zero-waste concept sounds great but didn’t see it happening within the menu. The apps and first courses were better than the main dishes. The dust devil drink is fab. Oddly, many of the plants were plastic. And the chairs stored in the ladies’ room makes it NOT wheelchair accessible. The kind and attentive servers were grand.

Osteria Morini: what do users think?

Balloon Artist: I delivered balloons to this beautiful location set on the walkway near the water. Parking was interesting. I am so grateful someone left while I was delivering the balloons. I did not eat there . The staff was absolutely amazing and very helpful.
Response: Thank you so much for this review Balloon! We greatly appreciate the 5 stars and look forward to seeing you again! And please follow us @osteriamorini to keep up to date at the latest Osteria Morini happenings!

Ben English: This place had always come recommended. Paul is the General Manager and wears his heart on his sleeve. He is committed to giving a great service and is really responsive. Our server was Edith and she was incredible- attentive, witty and just committed to a great experience. One of the great things about this restaurant is they don’t rush. We had appetisers and then waited a while and had drinks. It’s a proper Italian experience. Their wine list also reasonable and has great optionality. This is a great restaurant with staff that care. Would recommend highly and a stunning water view to boot.
Response: Thank you for your kind words Ben. We enjoy being able to provide you with a 5-star experience! The Osteria Morini team is looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Rachel L: We’ve been here twice now and it’s very yummy. The first time was outstanding. The burger was phenomenal and the pasta was so so delicious. We tried again during restaurant week and were less impressed. The desserts were yummy as well as the appetizers but the main entree was very meh at best. Overall the atmosphere is great, service is always wonderful and the drinks are good. I’m sure we will be back!
Response: Thanks for joining us at Osteria Morini, Rachel! We’re glad that you had a good experience overall, and always appreciate your feedback. We hope to see you again soon, and in the meantime, feel free to follow us on Instagram @osteriamorini.

Alison Young: Outstanding! Best meal since the pandemic began. Great service. Delicious food. Fabulous outdoor patio.
Response: Alison, we’re pleased to hear you had a great experience at Osteria Morini. We look forward to hosting you again soon. Feel free to follow and tag us on Instagram, @osteriamorini!

cq ny: Food is savory and I like the spaghetti with meatballs. I used to like the tagliatelle dish but somehow the chef now seems to add too many carrots to the dish. This has turned me off from the tagliatelle. This is when I wish DC had an Eataly that has a tagliatelle with bolognese (no carrot cubes).
Response: cq, thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your recent experience at Osteria Morini. We're happy your visit was enjoyable, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon for an even better one.

Katherine Garcia: Such a lovely experience! Food was great, portioned just right and flavorful. I got the squid ink pasta and my partner got the gnocchi. Their drinks were also very good they have wines, cocktails and such. A bit pricey but worth it. Service were polite and food came so quickly too!
Response: Thanks for joining us at Osteria Morini, Katherine! We’re glad that your party had a 5-star experience, and our team hopes to see you again soon. If you'd like to follow and tag us, @osteriamorini, we love seeing your photos!

RJ: Very good Italian in Navy Yard, although I’m admittedly new to the area. The food and service were consistent for 2 different meals, I ate both at the bar. Drinks also very good, wish bar was a little more private. Feels exposed if I had to describe its placement in the restaurant.
Response: RJ, thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your recent experience at Osteria Morini. We're happy your visit was enjoyable, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon for an even better one.

Sfoglina Van Ness: what do users think?

Carrie Crowther: I have always heard great things about Sfoglina, and I was not disappointed on my visit. We went around 3:30/4pm so it wasn’t too busy at the restaurant as yet. The customer service was excellent, warm and welcoming. We had the pomegranate 75 for the cocktail and it was just the right amount of tart and sweetness. We also had the garlic bread, the squid ink lobster linguine and the pappardelle pasta with ragu. They were all flavorful and well prepared. The pasta was the right texture and the sauce perfectly coated it. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and heightened the experience. I will definitely return to try other dishes! Highly recommend.

Karis Lange: Welcoming, comfortable yet high-end atmosphere. Our server was informative, attentive, and friendly. From the warm rosemary bread, to the pasta, asparagus, and desserts - all were phenomenal. Portion sizes were perfect - not too big. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Kristin Crofts: Sfoglina has been my go-to birthday dinner spot for the past several years. Last year was a to-go order because of the pandemic, so this was my first time back inside the restaurant in about two years. They did not disappoint. They pulled out all of the stops with a very thoughtful glass of champagne to toast and a delicious apple vanilla gelato. The waitress and service was fantastic. Every bite of food was incredible - better than ever. The fall squash seasonal special was my favorite. They topped it off with a lovely handwritten note from Fabio - kind of cheesy but I love it. Thanks so much to Sfoglina Van Ness for the perfect evening.
Response: We're delighted to read this and thank you so much for your support. It's a pleasure to be part of your special tradition!

원오직나만: Excellent pasta selection. Flavors, textures are all perfect. The portion size is not too big.

Jacob Sharpe: Great pasta, very cute interior, nice outdoor space, solid wine list. Very good option for "nice dinner but not $200 for 2." Recommended.

Juan Sabater: I rarely review restaurants on Google but just had to share my wonderful experience at Sfoglina in Van Ness. From the atmosphere to the staff to the food, Sfoglina has it all. My party of 5 all adored our entrees, it really does seem that they do not have a bad item on the menu! The dessert is out of this world (TRY THE CHOCOLATE CAKE!!). The Restaurant Manager Eddie Huasasquiche and our Server went above and beyond any moment they could, they truly made it a wonderful dining experience. We especially enjoyed our servers willingness to offer recommendations of both food and drinks, they were all great choices. I look forward to returning back frequently and bringing other family and friends to enjoy this wonderful spot.

j17schis: Our food was great. Ever better was Jack, the host, who addressed my parents concerns about the airflow in their outdoor seating section. From the street, it seemed like the “outside” seating was closed in, but he explained that the sides were open and there was plenty of airflow.

Floriana: what do users think?

Nicole R: My husband and I went here for lunch on our anniversary. The food was amazing! I had the tortellini and he had the lasagna. Everything was so fresh and delicious!
Response: Thank you kindly for the 5-star rating! We hope to serve you again soon, Happy Anniversary! -The Floriana Family

Carolyn Rider: I dined here with 2 others for restaurant week. $40 for an appetizer, dinner, and dessert. The appetizers were great - we got the gnocchi, Arancini, and the Salumi. We paired it with some excellent wine. For dinner, the lasagna was 10/10. Super cute vibes, the restaurant is in an old house. Service is excellent.
Response: Carolyn, We are delighted you were able to join us for restaurant week and enjoyed your meal choices! It is wonderful to hear you were pleased with our atmosphere and service overall. We hope you will join us again soon! -The Floriana Family

Julia A.: Good service and amazing (and very creative!) cocktails. The food disappointed a bit (was expecting more flavor and more freshness), but I am willing to try other dishes next time.
Response: Hi Julia, Thank you for the 4-star rating and for the feedback about our menu. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the cocktails and look forward to serving you again! -The Floriana Family

Ashley Dobbs: Went out for a date night and was not disappointed. We began the night with cocktails, warm bread and the BEST pesto I’ve ever tasted. We then had the lasagna and shrimp & scallop risotto. Both were cooked to perfection. Finished the night with an amazing teramisu. Don’t even question if this place is worth it. Just go!
Response: We are overjoyed to hear that you had such a wonderful experience! We hope to see you again soon so we can contribute to more memorable moments for you.

Gary Smith: restaurant was very pretty and service was good. Came with a large group and we shared somethings so ended up trying a large portion of the menu. the mozzarella and tomato appetizer had very mediocre mozzarella. The lasagna was okay, but not significantly better than a frozen oven ready lasagna. the sweet gnocchi and rabbit gnocchi were good, and the portions for the rabbit gnocchi were very generous, but not out standing. the calamari was good, but not exceptional in anyway. The brussel sprout appetizer was better than other dishes. The filet filled tortellini was by far the winning dish for the night. in the deserts we tried coffee ice cream, tiramisu, and the chocolate mouse. the mouse was very good, and on the thick side which I enjoy. the tiramisu and ice cream were good, but not noteworthy. there was out door dining as well as two floors of indoor dining. bathrooms are on the second floor only accessible by stairs that were moderately difficult to navigate so not a handicap friendly location. I would come back for a moderately nice dinner event, but would not go out of my way to eat here.
Response: Gary, Thank you for leaving us a review. We are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy a few items from our menu. At Floriana, we are dedicated to making finely crafted dishes and are proud of what our team has created. We greatly appreciate this detailed review as it allows us to learn and focus on what we can do better. If you dine with us again in the future, we hope that your experience will be more enjoyable. -The Floriana Family

Heather Walker: Excellent food! Our server, Kyle was great and very attentive! A bit cramped inside and noisy but otherwise all was great!
Response: Heather, Thank you kindly for the 4-star rating! We're glad to hear that our wait staff did an excellent job. We hope to serve you again! -The Floriana Family

Hayden Clay: I came for a Sunday Brunch. A lot of us ordered the chicken biscuit because I remember it being yummy pre-pandemic. Either I have short term memory loss or something is going very wrong in the kitchen. All of our biscuits were burnt black on the bottom and lacked all flavor. The "fried" chicken was not breaded and so over cooked that it was hard to bite through. The piece of chicken was absolutely tiny (see picture). The "fried egg" was scrambled eggs thrown on the tasteless biscuit. So disappointed. Truly inedible. See pictures for tiny overcooked, not fried chicken. And burnt bottom.
Response: Hayden, We greatly apologize that your brunch was not as enjoyable as you remember having previously. It is a priority to serve fresh and delicious dishes to each guest on every occasion they dine with us. We would appreciate hearing more about your experience and discussing how we can make this right for you. Please send me an email at jamie@florianarestaurant.com at your earliest convenience. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again. -The Floriana Family

The Red Hen: what do users think?

Vikram Seshadri: Amazing service, great ambiance and delicious food. The portions are small/personal for the price but delicious nonetheless. Had a few amazing vegetarian options and the waiter was kind enough to explain everything to us.

Rose A: All natural wines by the glass paired with amazing food and a large, airy bar in a rustic setting. Very friendly bartenders too. The whipped ricotta crostini was one of the best things I’ve ever had, and yes you can order Cacio e Pepe off the menu and it’s delicious. A lovely gem!

Kit Lai Pine: After trying for 6 years and failed to get a reservation at the time we wanted when we visited our college kids in DC, we finally got to dine at Red Hen on Saturday night. Every thing we ordered the chicken liver mousse, bruschetta, sausage pasta, squid ink spaghetti, pork chop and dessert were delicious. The pork chop was moist and scrumptious. The two pastas were so flavorful. Probably the best Italian restaurant in DC. Service was great. Can’t wait to dine at Red Hen again.

Ying Liang: I was today years old when I learned that antipasta means first course/small plates, and not “not-pasta” lol. We stopped by with dinner reservations on a Sunday night. The restaurant is a bit dark but the ambiance is great. Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic! Really felt like an elevated dining experience. Grilled Spanish octopus was so tender and flavorful. Risotto balls were crispy and bold. Squid ink linguini was the best pasta I’ve had in the states. Definitely check this place out if you get the chance to treat yourself!

Eugenia Kim: Omg! This place did not disappoint. This Italian restaurant had amazing ambiance when walking in and a perfect date night spot and small gathering. Reservations are highly recommended. And if dining in you will be charged an extra 20% gratuity to help fund the restaurant for covid recovery. Which we didn’t care! The service was fast and our waiter was so friendly and gave us great recommendations.
Response: Thanks so much for joining us, Eugenia! We're so happy that you enjoyed your dinner with us! We'd love to see you again soon.

Chelsea Morante: !!!TOURIST REVIEW!!! My mom and i visited this restaurant Labor Day weekend on my first trip to DC. We stayed at a near by air Bnb that recommended the place and honestly I’d one of the BEST restaurants yet. The food was absolutely amazing so much flavor very true to the authentic Italian restaurant feel. Love the open kitchen experience. We sat at the bar where our bartender Ely was the most amazing person ever. She helped me convince my mom to try things she wouldn’t normally eat while also recommending some Divine red wines. She was so great throughout the whole experience it made it that much more enjoyable. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. #OutofTownerCritic
Response: Hi Chelsea! We are so honored you and your mom put us on your DC itinerary! It was lovely to have you both in and we hope you had a wonderful rest of your trip to D.C.

Ariel Koch: Stopped in for after dinner drinks and desert, the bar staff was amazing!Aperol spritz, Tiramisu, Espresso martini & Ginger Pearl

Abby: The food here is TOO good. Probably the best Italian place in DC. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. The pasta dishes were excellent and I appreciate the reasonable prices.

Lupo Verde Osteria Palisades: what do users think?

Anton Belaschenko: We had such a wonderful afternoon brunch celebrating family reunions after Christmas holidays. The food was phenomenal and the children were greatly satisfied with their upscale pasta dishes. After all, when a three-year-old tells you that this was the best spaghetti that she had ever had that really goes to say that children can tell a grocery store pasta apart from the one that was freshly made from scratch. The desert was fabulous. As you can tell from a little boy the Nutella Donuts were a great hit. Great selection of beer and liquor 👌 the staff had a patience and friendliness. The kids were treated as if they were corporate executives, with properly placed silverware and settings. Very memorable family brunch indeed.

Meron Damtew: Pizza is good and we come often since we are around the corner. Very racist comment from a lady who appears to be the owner and first time I am seeing her too. She had no clue we have been coming here and try to tell me they don’t take walk In but reservations….

Aylin Bekem: I have no regret . The best pizza in town ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇮🇹🍕

G S (2harriedma): Wonderful anniversary dinner at Lupo Verde Osteria, a cozy Italian restaurant in the Palisades. Waitstaff were very attentive, patient and friendly. Chef paid careful attention to food allergies and made substitutions when necessary. The slight hiccup, medium rare ny strip we ordered came well-done, was immediately rectified. We had: Polipo- sautéed octopus with olive and tomato ragu served over bone marrow Carciofi alla Giudia - fried artichokes with parsley sauce Funghi pizze - pizza topped with roasted mushrooms, truffle ricotta, black truffle honey Tagliata di manzo - 14oz ny strip, fingerling potatoes with Demi-glaze vinaigrette Vitello alla parmigiana - veal chop parmigiana, tomato sauce, mozzarella, pasta pomodoro Tiramisu Chocolate soufflé Pistachio cannolis Our food was delicious and beautifully presented. The standout was the pizza, the crispness in the crust, tangy sweetness from the roasted mushrooms and truffle honey just made it so good! Desserts were all excellent.

Mark Zyga: A great find of a small, neighborhood Italian restaurant

Sophie Koubek: There is so much good I have to write about this place but I’ll try to keep it short! My now husband and I had our wedding dinner here in the upstairs room 3 weeks ago and it was absolutely perfect. I can’t thank everyone who works there enough for making our day so special! You all were so accommodating and welcoming. The food was all delicious. (Half of the family is Italian) and everyone more than approved. We also went there 3 days before to “check it out” and had cocktails and appetizers…obviously it was amazing because we had our wedding dinner there! We are all planning to come back because we had the best cozy night there. Thank you all so so much for everything. We will be back very soon!!! 💜💜💜

San Lorenzo: what do users think?

Allie Bluhm-Whitley: We had a fantastic dinner at San Lorenzo! The service was fantastic and extremely caring. We were unable to get a table during our reservation time, which was already not a problem because they have a lovely bar to eat at, but the manager Christina took special care of us because of the inconvenience. The food was spectacular and dessert was perfect. I can’t wait to return!

Greg Young: Dinner with friends in from NYC, did not disappoint. Intimate space and delicious food. You could not avoid a delicious choice on the menu—we tried the veal, rabbit ragu pappardelle and halibut entrees and had calamari and squash blossoms starters. So very good.
Response: Greg, thank you so much!

Dawson Brunswick: San Lorenzo and its staff were great. The truffle mushroom tortellini was absolutely amazing. The portion size was just right for lunch. There was a nice crowd at lunch time, but I was able to be seated right away and the service was very timely. Would definitely return when in the area.

Philip Pena: If you’re looking for great food, phenomenal service, nice vibes, look no further. I admit, the outside facade looks kind of questionable but once you get inside, it’s gorgeous, the staff are beyond friendly - I received multiple free dishes (I was moving into the neighborhood and got free desert) — also do yourself a favor and get SQUASH BLOSSOMS. Unreal. Carrot and ginger soup was the weirdest creation I’ve ever heard but the most delectable, light, tasty, soup my lips have ever had the privilege of interacting with. — SAN LORENZO is best Italian in Shaw. Don’t walk, RUN!

Simoní Schmidt: Adorable restaurant! The food is amazing, a little bit overpriced, but very tasty. The service is very good! Bianca was super kind and adorable! We had Bruschetta, Pappardelli and Tortelli. And for dessert, Bianca suggested us a great cheesecake!

Rachel S: San Lorenzo is a gem of a restaurant. Every time I dine here I am reminded how lucky I am to live so close to this place! The lunch sandwiches were a wonderful treat during my work from home days, and I was pleased to see them on the menu when I last went in for a business lunch. I have never had a bad meal here. The bread, pasta, fish, desserts, drinks, and everything else are lovely. Do your self a favor and book a table for a quiet and delicious meal in the heart of DC.

D G: Phenomenal food! Called to make a reservation for 8 on a busy Saturday night, around 2 weeks before said dinner. Christina from San Lorenzo was super helpful in talking through the food options and what the dinner would entail. Everything we ate was amazing, and because it was a fixed priced course, had plenty of food for everyone. Top notch Italian food in a funny little spot.

Hong Lin: My friend and I had an amazing time at this restaurant! Our bartender, Emily, was attentive and gave us wonderful recommendations. The mango & passionfruit cheesecake was amazing, and the truffle tortelli and lobster risotto were also lovely.

1789 Restaurant & Bar: what do users think?

Stefan Tobler: Absolutely superb. Delicious food, excellent service, warm and cozy dining room. We were a bit under dressed, definitely a sports coat kind of restaurant. If you are looking for a nice meal this is a place I would go back too. Great job 1789.

Andrew Bogdan: Had an excellent time grabbing dinner here! The food was absolutely amazing, and the art on the walls was fun to look at and made for great conversation. I ordered the eggplant and butternut squash soup. It was literally the best soup I have ever had in my life, absolutely amazing. The wine list was excellent as well. Really recommend for a private romantic date night!

Georgia Hensley: We had such a great experience visiting 1789. The food was delicious, the waiters were pleasant and the manager was so knowledgeable. He knew all the history and even about the Exorcist house and steps directly across the street. We enjoyed short ribs and sirloin, my brother in law had the halibut, we also tried the lobster and the octopus starters. They were so good. They even called our cab for us. We will def. return on our next visit to Georgetown. 1789 is located at 126 36 St.NW 20007

Norma Del Carmen: Last night in Georgetown and we wanted to try this Michelin star restaurant as a treat To end our thanksgiving weekend and 1789 Restaurant did not disappoint, it blew our tastes buds away! The butter squash soup we started out with was so amazing that we knew the rest of the dishes would get better and better. Be sure to take a video of how they present the soup…it happened so fast, great presentation. I had the brioche halibut and My tastebuds were just in heaven. Our bellies were full but we still wanted to enjoy the evening w deserts and it did not disappoint as well! Service was excellent ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ And the food was delivered quick. This is my new favorite restaurant in Georgetown by far and looking forward to coming back again!
Response: Thank you so much, Norma! We appreciate your positive feedback about your experience. We take pride in serving our customers and hope to see you again soon!

Tucker Jones: Excellent food and fabulous service. Such a great dining experience, one of the best in DC!! Desserts topped off an amazing dinner snd they were off the charts!
Response: Thank you, Tucker!

Wendy Reynolds: Great food in this restaurant. Staff was very polite and cooperative.
Response: Thank you so much, Wendy! We hope to see you again soon.

Katie Greener: Food was amazing and perfectly portioned! So much that we had to take home leftovers! Wonderful date night spot. Drinks were phenomenal as well…combinations complimented each other so nicely. We ended our meal with sharing the cheesecake with some coffee and couldn’t have been more satisfied.
Response: Thank you, Katie!

Le Diplomate: what do users think?

Thang Phu: Highly recommended! We stopped by for a late afternoon food one day and was amazed at how fantastic the food is. It was all so good, especially their desserts. I have travelled to multiple regions in France and I can attest the food here tastes the closest to food in France. They even have a wine carafe on the menu, just like France. I wished I lived near here so I could go treat myself now and then.
Response: Thank you for such a complimentary review, Thang. We’re excited that you found our food and service to be five-star worthy. We are looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future at Le Diplomate.

mike wittenburg: Five Stars for the food and the atmosphere. Visited on a busy Saturday evening and got a table without a reservation, amazing. So much seating available. Indoor and outdoor seating. Went with a couple of friends and the drinks and food were fabulous. Tuna dish is a small serving. Trout was great and the muscles were awesome. Apple dessert and vanilla creme brulee delicious. Definitely a popular spot. And the bread... So much bread... Good variety of bread to choose from. Enjoy!
Response: mike, we’re pleased to know you had a great experience at Le Diplomate. We look forward to hosting you again soon. Feel free to follow us @lediplomatedc to keep in touch on Instagram!

Daae Katsicoyannis: The meal was incredible. I recommend going with friends and sharing everything. The service was also impeccable. You can tell that all ingredients at this restaurant are fresh and of excellent quality. It’s rare to find such an approachable restaurant of this league. I would recommend to anyone.
Response: Daae, we’re pleased to know you had a great experience at Le Diplomate. We look forward to hosting you again soon. Feel free to follow us @lediplomatedc to keep in touch on Instagram!

brian perkins: Loved this place for a few reasons. Let’s start with the bread. Why can’t all restaurants serve great, fresh, delicious bread? Because it’s not easy. I pictured the empty escargot plate because after dipping the bread in the garlic sauce it was game over. Add onion soup, superb steak frites, profiteroles to die for and you have a neighborhood gem. Not to mention the wait staff gives treats to dogs being walked by the restaurants. How great is that?!
Response: Thank you for such a complimentary review, brian. We’re excited that you found our food and service to be five-star worthy. We are looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future at Le Diplomate.

Rob: The food and ambiance are always great. However, on multiple occasions, I’ve felt that the service is not what you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Last time I felt a bit rushed and the service, while attentive, was curt. When our entrees arrived, a waiter couldn’t fully reach to place my friend’s plate in front of him. Rather then walk around the table (there was space), the waiter placed it on the table and gave the plate a quick flick of the wrist to push it over. It’s a small example but I think captures a similar sentiment seen in other reviews about the service.
Response: Rob, we're happy to know you had a positive experience at Le Diplomate and appreciate your feedback on how we can improve. Hopefully, we have another opportunity to serve you in the future so we can earn that last star!

Karissa Warren: Had an awesome food experience on New Years! Was a little disappointed they didn’t have their usual pastry assortment but every single item we got was delicious!! We really came for the pastries and croissants but were blown away by the food! If you want an authentic French croissant, they’ve got you covered! We will definitely be back!
Response: Karissa, 5-star experiences are what we strive for day in and day out here at Le Diplomate. Thank you for the great feedback and we'll hopefully see you again soon!

Dee Ketterman: We’ve eaten here twice and love the food and decor. The feel of the restaurant more resembles an upscale bar with delicious food, as most people are standing and drinking rather than eating. I’d like to try sitting at the bar because I think it’d be a better experience to fit the atmosphere over a low table with people standing all around. The mushroom tart is fantastic and the French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had! The service was dressed appropriately but less attentive than expected, most likely because of how busy it seems to get. Regardless, I really like the food and hope to visit again soon.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your recent visit to Le Diplomate, Dee. Our staff works incredibly hard to ensure our guests have the best dining experience. We hope to see you back very soon and to earn that extra star!

Bibiana Oe: Very cute upscale dining experience! The waiter had many recommendations that were appealing. The bread with the butter is amazing! Ordered assorted oysters, mushroom tart, beef bourguignon, mussels and frites, and the profiteroles. Loved everything and it was good portions! Recommend for a lovely cozy dining in experience since the bar and inside of the restaurant is super unique!
Response: We're happy to know you had a positive experience at Le Diplomate and appreciate your feedback on how we can improve. Hopefully, we have another opportunity to serve you in the future so we can earn that last star!

Blue Duck Tavern: what do users think?

Michelle Wiciak: Absolutely phenomenal. This place has the best duck ever. Honestly, everything we had was amazing--from the charcuterie board to the horseradish potatoes to the chocolate peanut butter cake. A well-rounded meal. Not to mention, our waiter did an excellent job at recommending our wine selection and paired beautifully with our dishes. Just an amazing experience and will come back when we are in the city again.

Tilak Kalaria: Blue Duck Tavern in the Park Hyatt is an amazing dining experience. The ambience and the service match the excellent cocktails, wine, and cuisine. You truly get what you pay for and you do pay don’t get me wrong but WoW everything tastes excellent and the service team’s attention to detail elevates the experience. The bone marrow and the duck were my favourite dishes to name a couple. Intriguingly delicious was their house bread with olives! Excellent dining experience that is worth the price. Cheers.

Kim Nguyen: Wow. We were so impressed with the quality of the food here. It’s my first time in DC and after a bit of researching for fine dining restaurant, we decided to try Blue Duck Tavern. I was able to make a last minute reservation for 2 at 8:30pm. Their bone marrow and duck breast were so bomb. The service was amazing as well. Highly recommend!

Jerry’s Adventure: Service, value, flavor it hits all the marks The short ribs were tender and melts in your mouth. And with a smoky flavor 👌 the egg 🥚 is cooked perfectly as it gives a creamy texture to the dish. The biscuit holds up with good structure, but it’s flavor may not be as accentuated as it can be (mostly herbs) and can use a gravy. Pancakes were fluffy as expected and presentation is beautiful 😌 Overall a must go in DC area

Vivian Cheng: Went for lunch. Food is solid, well-executed. We had the cured ocean trout (delicious!) and the kale salad (perfect) with two entrees. Crab cakes are large and delicious. Well seasoned, paired with a salad. I had the confit duck leg. Flavorful, succulent, with a beautiful crispy skin. Sadly, we were too full for dessert. Well-worth a visit.

Tamila Torab Eghdami: It was my first time eating duck. The food was absolutely delicious! 😋 The service was amazing. Too bad we didn’t have time to go back for the second time but next time I’m in Washington definitely we’ll go back. We also tried their apple pie with tea and it was the best apple pie I ever had in my whole life. This restaurant worth your money and time!

Amer Alsamman: Went for our anniversary. The staff were curtious, and friendly. Our waiter went above and beyond to make make our experience great The apple pie was amazing. I had the beef rib which was good but had more fat veins than expected.

Rose's Luxury: what do users think?

Mikayla Rose: This was our first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was the most delicious and romantic dinner I’ve ever had. My husband and I went for my birthday dinner and it was so special. Our waiter, Ramsey, made the experience so personal and he was amazing! This was hands down the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant from the moment we walked in until we left. Since it was my birthday, we were given a gift of a recipe and the ingredients we can make at home, as well as a raspberry tart with a candle! I’m incredibly impressed and will be returning. 10/10 recommend. Also, for the meal and service we received it was so worth the money and very reasonably price.

HK: Enjoyed all of the menus we ordered. Rose’s Luxury is a smart creative restaurant- not using any unheard or arcane ingredients or recipe, it effortlessly creates a new combination of tastes. The way it’s priced is hard to understand ($85 per person prefix for dinner regardless of what you order) and may make it relatively more expensive for some combination of dishes. Other than that, food and service was fantastic.

N -: It was my first time going to a Michelin star restaurant. The food is definitely unique, but not for people who like simple food. Not worth the price, despite its rating. The desserts are not adequately sized for a meal that big... Did not finish the dessert that served "2.9" people. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff. The upper level has a quaint dining space and the bathroom is very nice.
Response: Hi Nathalie, Thanks so much for your feedback. We would love to further discuss your experience with us and get a little more information from you. Could you please contact me directly via email: misha@rosesrestaurantgroup.com. Look forward to hearing from you!

Andrea Bronstein: This was my first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it was an amazing experience. I booked the garden bar area mistakenly thinking it was just for the garden area in general and I’d have a table so I was disappointed when I was seated but it ended up being a great experience. Josh, the bartender, was really personable and knowledgeable and my fiancé and I really enjoyed chatting with him. The food was really good, especially the steak and eggs dish.

Megan Martinez: We loved Rose’s Luxury! Our waiter was extremely nice. The whole staff was super friendly. We got to try 6 dishes since we were a party of three. The lychee salad is a must. The cabbage and chicken were also extremely delicious. We got two deserts and a single coffee French press. They brought us a special tart for my sister since it was her birthday! At the end I was so touched to get a gift at the end of the meal which was a pasta and spice set to make at home!

Carolyn Zacharias: I came in nervously as a solo dinner and ate at the bar - I was immediately greeted by a warm and welcoming staff - from the host to each server explaining the dishes. John and Harley at the bar took excellent care of me through the creation of delicious drinks and perfect recommendations for food. I had the lychee and pork salad which at first glance seemed like a creation of mismatched ingredients, it was both refreshing and hearty. In addition I tried the leek pasta and the soy glazed chicken, both dishes I highly recommend as they are both comforting and creative!

Officina at The Wharf: what do users think?

Logan Saufley: This is an amazing European style restaurant. The menu is tricky to read but the wait staff is eager to help and interpret. Every dish from the appetizer to the dessert was perfect. The portions are small not like American restaurants. That said I still felt full by the end of the night. The wine was amazing and deserves its own rating on google. A must try place for a date night or a large gathering. Somewhat kid friendly but better experienced without.

Jennifer Cogan: The restaurant was a very nice setting, but beyond that we weren’t thrilled. The portions were very small, and almost everything left a taste of fennel in your mouth (probably because the bread served at the table had fennel in it and it’s a tough taste to get rid of beyond that). My dad finished his dish in 2 seconds (ravioli stuffed with braised lamb), and I would definitely say don’t come here if you have an appetite. Our service was okay. A few of the waiters that came by randomly were great, but we only saw our “main” waiter a couple times — and the manager actually ended up taking our order for us. Not a huge deal, but keep in mind the bill tact’s on an automatic 23% gratuity to your bill …. Which was a $52 tip in our case (a little much if you ask me), 23% is for exceptional service and our service was less than good. Also, to reserve a table you have to put down $15 per person when making a reservation. So this was $60 for us. Again, not a huge deal but this restaurant isn’t worth that — I’d rather find one that doesn’t charge a fee to reserve a table…. Overall, it was fine …. But we won’t be back.

Norma Del Carmen: I love looking for a Michelin star restaurant whenever I visit a new city and I wanted to treat my daughter to a great meal while in DC area. Officina didn’t disappoint at all, it surpassed my expectations and even a better treat to visit on Wednesday pasta day when I got mine for $11.00! Took some photos of my meal but photos can’t do justice to explain the thrill my tastebuds had experienced. Topped of dinner with the tiramisu, love the extra crunch on top. Will be a repeat visitor when I come back to visit my daughter at Georgetown.

King Of New York: We were given the best seat in the house. The food was delicious but the deserts are what made it memorable. Very cool vibe and ambiance. Highly recommend for date night :)

pooria riahi: This place has one of the top 10 rooftop bars and setting in DMV area, location wise and considering the rooftop design. On the rooftop there is only drink and snack menus served. The quality of drinks and snacks on the rooftop is 7/10 which would provide you with a pleasant experience. Concerning the actual dinner quality, I however am not able to provide any recommendations yet.

Michelle Paulus-Baumgarten: Great food, beverages, and service. The menu was relatively small but there is something for everyone in it. The pasta was fantastic. Would recommend reservations for a Friday or Saturday night as the place got busy.

Brandon DePalo: Very good food. Very good service. Bread was incredible. View is really nice. Only reason I docked a star was because portion sizes are too small. I got the veal ravioli and it was more of an appetizer portion than a full meal. The risotto ball was delicious, but I expected at least 2, and there was only one. Drinks are small but taste good.

Komal P: You can tell the gratuity is automatically applied when service is consistently slow & unreliable. Servers dont have to try so hard & its awful to be forced to pay for horrible service. We saw waiters chatting at the host stand constantly when we had asked for a simple warm water. Coffee was actually quality. Tiramisu was okay. Nothing great. Overall, would not want to come back bc of Bad service.

The Smith: what do users think?

Ian Sherwood: Great vibe. I can attest that they are a great brunch place. I had a great eggs Benedict for $18. It’s made on french bread which is so good! I like the energy and decor of this place. The black iron and wood ceilings give it a nice vibe.

Sam M: There are so many decent brunch spots in DC, but this place is my favorite. I originally visited the smith in New York and this place in DC is just as good. I was here to celebrate my friend’s birthday and had an awesome time. It could get really busy during the brunch so I highly recommend making a reservation. Every single plate was fantastic, but my favorite dishes were mac and cheese in a skillet, vanilla bean french toast and buttermilk pancakes. Staffs very accommodating and attentive during the whole brunch. I really appreciated them when they brought out the ice cream with candles for the birthday celebration. I also believe brunch cocktails are included if you order some egg dishes. This is one of the best brunch places in DMV and I highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

Vy H.: The ambiance here is nice—came here for lunch Friday and was able to get two seats at the bar. The bar is fully stocked and tons of liquor options! Food was good, we enjoyed the BLT +E (added avocado) and the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad—portions are generous too.

Rebecca s: Super cute place! We had to make a last minute reservation cancellation with another restaurant and knew it would be difficult to find a good brunch spot on a Sunday without a reservation. We called and they said maybe the bar would be available when we arrived but that was all they had. When we arrived it was full :( BUT they did let us know if a party cancelled or was late that they could seat u be Aubrey in the next 20 min. Well they totally did! It was really nice that they accommodated us. Cute place a great food!

Riley: The mac and cheese is out of this world. It was extremely cheesy and had an amazing crust of cheese on the top. Each bite was packed with powerful flavor. I also was able to try the wings and they were great. The seasonings were a perfect blend and not to spicy. The gnocchi was very rich and could really taste the truffle on it. The service was great.

Christina Arthur: The toffee pudding was awesome. Calamari was great! For my main dish I had the fried chicken with honey marmalade and cheesy grits. The grits were really good. There was a lot of breading on the chicken but still very tasty.

Kylan Carini: This is an amazing restaurant, and I highly recommend going here. Firstly, the food was delicious. It was flavorful and modern for a reasonable price. Additionally, the decor of the restaurant was great, perfect for your Instagram needs. They also give you both sparkling and still water at your table. The only bad thing I can say about this restaurant is that the table was a little small, but you hardly notice because the food was so exquisite.

Andrew Windheim: First time visit. Late Saturday afternoon brunch, place was still packed but got a high table at the bar. We had the eggs Benedict and shrimp and grits. One of the eggs Benedict was watery but generally very good. The shrimp grits was served in a frying pan and was very tasty. Especially loved the extra thin shoestring fries spread over the top of the dish and the included brunch drink with each brunch main. Great atmosphere and cool casual decor. Great location next to National Gallery and one short block from Capital One Arena. Close to a 5 but not quite.
