Cozymeal Cooking Classes: what do users think?

Valerie Damond: Last night twelve members of my family experienced a truly remarkable Spanish dinner. Chef Greg presented us with a very relaxing and utterly delicious meal. Every course was beautifully displayed and clearly constructed with the best ingredients. He and his helper served us and left the kitchen immaculate. If you would like to experience an expertly crafted Spanish cuisine, I highly recommend Chef Greg.

D H: I had my Cozymeal event today. I have never participated in an online cooking class before, and I must say it was great! My daughter and I took the class making the Chinese dumplings with Chef Li. Chef Li was great and while making the recipes really gave good information on the Chinese culture and the different types of substitutions to use in the event you are not able to get a specific ingredient. She made suggestions regarding kitchen utensils and made sure that all of us were on track with her during her instruction. My only difficulty was with the recipes being in grams and not in US measurements. It would be nice to have both listed. I live in a very rural area and this option of online cooking classes is such a welcome experience. I would definitely take another class!!

Benjamin Bowden: Really enjoyed having Chef Tiffany cook for my girlfriend and me. Great food, great conversation, and a generally excellent evening. One note: she arrived 45 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time, when nobody was home. Her early arrival was a positive, as the meal took a few hours to prepare, but Cozymeal should communicate better with the clients about true arrival time. Bottom line: Tiffany provided an excellent French meal, all cooked from scratch, with fresh ingredients. Moreover, there were leftovers! Really looking forward to my next Cozymeal experience.

Alison Ponzi: We had an evening full of freshly made pasta, bruschetta, and bread pudding with Chef Tiffany. I bought a KitchenAid mixer last year with the pasta attachment, and she was open to teaching me how to use it. She also worked with us on our likes/dislikes allowing us to choose a different appetizer. All in all it was a successful night with great food, company, and conversation.

Steven Sacks: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, ValueMy girlfriend and I took the Festival of Indian Flavor with Chef Manjiri. It was such a wonderful experience - she clearly explained the agenda for the class, told us about herself, explained all the ingredients, and then helped us through all four recipes with both laughter and fun. What a great time!

Theano Kampani: Really enjoyed having Chef Greg cook for my husband and me. Great food, and great conversation! We highly recommend Chef Greg and his Spanish dishes. The star of the menu was the dessert for us :)

Kathleen Norwood: This was a wonderful experience. Chef Gustavo was a delightful host and instructor He shared knife and preparation tips as well as the history of the food. The food was muy rico and we came away with many tips to make prep easier and food tastier for making a yummy paella as well as other dishes. Chef Gustavo created a welcoming, warm and relaxed evening. Thank you, Chef Gutavo!

Niki Holmes: We had an amazing experience with Chef Judith. Her recipes were easy; we had great company; and the Chef taught us some very useful techniques. --Plus--The food tasted so delicious!

Carmine's Italian Restaurant - Washington D.C.: what do users think?

feranda smith: The portion size of this place is HUGE! Good thing is they serve lunch sizes all day for certain items. Lasagna wasn’t one of those so this was definitely dinner and lunch for the next day. Food wasn’t bad, however, you could taste that everything basically comes from a can. Taste a lot like chef boyardee. Drinks were a bit too sweet but not terrible. The highlight was their garlic bread! Now that was amazing!!!! I could just sit, eat that, and be extremely satisfied

Albert Jonathan: Looking for an Italian food in the downtown area, and found this decent Italian restaurant. Overall, we had a great dining experience. The server was very friendly and professional, she started by explaining a few things about the restaurant and told us that the food is supposed to be shared by 2-3 people per portion. Foods taste great and the price is reasonable.

Mark Michael Blue: Great food, however for less than 3 or 4 people not well suited. The only regular tables are available for a menu that only serves family-sizes. So if you go there alone as I did, you either have tons of leftovers or ruin every diet you’re on - also, whatever you order apart from drinks comes multiplied by 4 basically and costs accordingly. So ordering a simple garlic bread sets you back 15 USD and you get like 9 pieces. No issue if you sit at the bar to get human-sized portions, however it tainted the experience a little. Nonetheless, the food was gorgeous and the staff great!

Shad Kearns: Excellent Italian restaurant! We had a great dining experience. The server was very friendly and professional, she started by explaining a few things about the restaurant and told us that the food is supposed to be shared by 2-3 people per portion. Foods taste great and the price is reasonable.

Luke Meyers: Restaurant had a good feel to it. Located in heart of DC. Food was very good and the size of portions family style. Family of 4 and we just did sides, glad we did, plenty for the empty stomachs after walking the Mall and plenty to bring back to the hotel. Place was packed and full of people. Meatballs and eggplant made the family happy. For post dining though not on the menu, a few glasses of limoncello, only the Italian might ask. Food was priced for area.

Mike Olson: First time dining and didn’t realize it’s family style but luckily I’m old enough to sit at the bar where smaller portions are offered. Ordered the Rigatoni with Broccoli and Sausage with a Red Sauce. It was a busy Saturday night and the food took longer to arrive than I’d have liked but once it did I was instantly impressed and very satisfied with the meal. Also worth mentioning that the service at the bar was exceptional and truly professional.

Kim Nguyen: Carmine’s offers family style dishes. By family style, I mean big portions. We ordered a shrimp scampi with linguine for 2 of us. We couldn’t finish half of the portion. It was huge as you can see in the photo (the knife for size preference). Carmine’s is perfect for a family of 4 or more because you can get the most for the value. Reservation is recommended.

Karoline Melo: The place is nice for a family gathering. The dishes are HUGE, really HUGE, it easily serves 5 people. Just a tip: they serve half portion of the cannoli, but you have to ask because it’s not written in the menu. The food is tasty, the chicken parmigiana is one of the best I had. The cannoli was good too!

Joyce Griffin: So much food. Serve many portions. The courses were a great variety, salads, muscles, shrimp, fish, pasta, lasagne, fresh fruit, dessert, beverage. All you could eat. Went as a group to celebrate graduation. Servers were awesome, attentive and made sure we had extra portions if we wanted. Would highly recommend even though price per person was $70. It was worth it.

Jasdeep Grewal: We came as a party of six on a Saturday night and seated promptly. The food came out reasonably timed and fresh. Everything piping hot with the except of the chicken Marsala. Overall, the food tasted fantastic and the portion sizes are very generous. The “Apple Gorgonzola” salad is a must-try! The decor is quaint and there’s so much to discover with all the vintage pictures on the walls. I would definitely come back.
Response: Thank you, Jasdeep, for the rave review! We strive to provide delicious food and world-class service, so we're happy to see that reflected on your visit! We appreciate you sharing such wonderful feedback about your entire dining experience! Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review and for giving your visit a 5-star rating. We look forward to seeing and serving you again soon!

Lori Arnold: Took a group of 42 students and 5 chaperones for dinner. For the large groups that were in there, staff was accommodating. Family style meal. Spaghetti and delicious. Plenty of salads. Could have used butter for the bread and more bread. Also drink refills.
Response: Lori, thank you for the great review! We strive to provide delicious food and world-class service, so we're happy to see that reflected on your visit! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Nic ellison: This place was great. The food was delicious. Sean was our waiter and he was very attentive and we enjoyed hearing about his life. We are visiting from Houston and found this on Google maps. Great place and history on the walls is awesome.
Response: Thank you, Nic! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed dining with us and appreciate you sharing such wonderful feedback about Sean! We look forward to seeing and serving you again soon!

nut ball sheding: the atmosphere is great…the whole place is decorated beautifully. wish i could say the same about the food. it’s so mid. the salad was good but the rest was like…meh. the fettuccine just tasted like undercooked butter noodles. the cheesecake was good ish. all in all not really worth it.
Response: Hi, thank you for choosing Buca di Beppo. We are sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience. We will be sure to share your feedback with our team to improve future guest experiences.

Sky Link: Unfortunately, our delivery order was made wrong, and not well. There was cheese on a dish that shouldn’t have cheese and barely any sauce. We called the restaurant after receiving the food and spoke to two different people, the last being a manager. The manager informed us that they would give us a call back about what they could do. We still have not received a call, and that is very unprofessional to make promises you do not keep. I understand that mistakes can happen in a kitchen but don’t lie to somebody about fixing the mistake just to get out of it.
Response: Hi, we are sorry to hear about your experience. Please contact us at bucadibeppo.com/contact to provide your contact information and details of your experience. Upon receipt of your contact information, a member of our team will contact you directly.

Sharon Youngdahl: Went to a family birthday party. Food was great. Such a fun place!!
Response: Thank you, Sharon! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed dining with us! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Renay Cole: I could not believe the taste of this food. I have wanted some spaghetti and thought why not go to an Italian place. This food was as bland as bland could be. I looked through the sauce to see no seasoning at all, no herbs I just felt like I was eating beef with tomatoes on top of it and the brought it to the table lukewarm. They also gave us bread with olive oil that tasted rancid. I truly was disappointed, I would not recommend this restaurant to my dog if I had one. This opinion and review was wrote by me and the person that was present with me at the restaurant. Because this was my recommendation I felt it was right that I pay the full cost.
Response: Thank you, Renay, for choosing Buca di Beppo. We are sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience. We will be sure to share your feedback with our team to improve future guest experiences.

Tortino Restaurant: what do users think?

Adam Galazka: Amazing.....Amazing....Amazing. This place is a gem. They were very accommodating to my family of five. Service was amazing and food was delicious. For appetizers we tried mushroom soup and grilled octopus. Perfect flavor and temperature. For dinner we tried a variety of pastas and a Salmon dish. Again delicious and food temperature was perfect. Did not have to wait very long for food to come to the table. By far one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to.

Ally T: Absolutely love this place! Truly a hidden gem in the DC area. I come here EVERY time I’m in the area and am never disappointed. The kindest staff, amazing food and reasonable prices! So delicious! A must try!

Paul LaVigne: A hidden gem that deserves to be experienced by everyone. This Italian restaurant may be small in size, however the food is amazing. Some local DC friends picked this restaurant to meet us out for dinner tonight, and we are so glad they did. We started out with the Beef Carpaccio, Buffalo mozzarella, arugula, pesto, and spicy micro-greens appetizer. It is a light weight appetizer that packs a punch of flavor. For the main course my wife had the Saffron Taglierini with scallops. She says it was as delicious as it sounds. I ordered the Lamb Shank - Ossobucco style with spinach mash potatoes. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the dish as a whole was fantastic as well as more than I could eat in one setting, so I will be enjoying the leftovers for another meal. To top everything off, we had their tiramisu for dessert. It was very good. Next time though I think we’ll try the cheesecake.

Robert Charming: Host didn’t know where to seat us. Then seated us and then asked us to move. I ordered the crab, they served me lamb. They offered a lettuce leaf to make up for it. Really underwhelmed. The food needs seasoned, from the bread to the pasta. The best thing I had was the wine… which they bought. There was also broken glass on the floor that no one attended to the entire time we were there.

Peter W.: Great Italian place! We got the lamb ravioli which was exceptionally good. The linguini and taglierini was both good in its own way. Scallop appetizer was well cooked but a bit too salty. Would recommend overall.

Lady Abbo: This is a truly authentic experience of Italian cuisine! A very relaxed and intimate environment. From pasta to dessert a joy for your taste buds!

Leopoldo Avellan: Grilled octopus very good, risotto with lobster and shrimp sublime. The Tiramisu was awesome. The canoli were average. Alex, our server was superb

Kiffa Shirley: An amazing foodie experience. The personal experience from ALL the staff from the moment we walked in made for the start of an truly special anniversary dinning experience. Well worth the $$$. Jackets are not required for gentlemen, but I was also one of the very few without. The food was delicious and the photos don’t do them Justice. The neighboring tables were engaging and open for menu suggestions back and forth. And I think we saw a notable or too if your into the DC scene.

Andras Heczey: This is an outstanding restaurant within the heart of Washington DC. The venue was renovated during the pandemic, has a brand new interior with nice noise dampening ceiling panels which certainly keep the ambiance. Service is exceptional with knowledgeable waiting staff. The food is Italian inspired modern dishes including refined selection of pastas, octopus with apple puree, perfectly prepared beef tenderloin, squid ink infused risotto with grilled calamari etc. Their wine list is dominated by an Italian selection complimented with Californian wines. From their deserts, the panna cotta is exceptional. Not cheap, but for this experience, it is worth it.

Stefan Tobler: A wonderful dining experience, excellent service and atmosphere. Food is delicious, you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. A memorable spot, highly recommended.

Gregory Leung: This was the best meal in recent memory. Risotto squid ink and grilled calamari was sublime. Roasted cauliflower amazing. Jay was fabulously knowledgeable about the wine and food selection. Truly an impressive and memorable evening.

Scott Matus: Needed a place to go for a pre-show meal and TOSCA did not disappoint. Everything from the food to the service and ambiance was excellent. The grilled Bronzino was especially delicious and perfectly cooked.

Michelle Alcanter: Great service, great food, great portion! Overall very pleasant experience. The ribeye steak was fantastic, very tender with a great onion sauce. I also like the half pasta portion so that you have room to try other things!

Agustina Fainguersch: Absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had. We ordered the prosciutto appetizer, the spaghetti, the agnolotti, and the tiramisu. Left absolutely satisfied with the food and service.

Keysmash: Delicious food, and the staff are smart! Staff here can remember large orders with many alterations, and the food still comes out fast. I wish they had more non-alcoholic drink options, though. Also, the vibes in here are great! Lovely decor, low lighting is good for a date. Try the 5$ take-home dinners! You can get your parking ticket validated here, there is a direct elevator entrance from the parking garage. Highly recommended!
Response: We are proud to hear that you had an overall enjoyable experience. We look forward to your next visit!

Lani: I ordered the lobster carbonara… it’s something I’ve ordered it a few times at the location in a different city. This first time ordering here. The pasta sauce has a very chalky, bitter taste, the lobster was chewy and flavorless and there was not the same amount of bacon. It just didn’t taste as good unfortunately.
Response: We aim to exceed expectations every time, and we regret very much that we didn't do so in this case, Lani. We will be passing this feedback along directly, and we would like to connect with you personally to get more details about your experience. Please share your contact information at https://www.maggianos.com/contact so we can reach out. Thank you.

Richard Lapaglia: Some of the worst food I have ever had! I don’t know how you screw up something as simple as a baked penne. But they figured it out. The sauce was grossly sweet and otherwise unseasoned. There were only a few little fragments of Italian sausage and barely an cheese. Plus it took over an hour for delivery. Stay away. Enclosed is a photo of this sad sad meal.
Response: We are sorry to learn that you did not enjoy your visit. We would appreciate more details about your overall experience. Please share them at www.maggianos.com/contact so our teams may follow up. Thank you!

Markita Murray: The food here is DELICIOUS!!!! We enjoyed our first time here our waitress was a doll. She was very friendly and informative because it was our first time. We will be back

Joshua WT: Ricardo the Server is one of reasons you should visit Maggiano’s aside from the most amazing entrées. His customer service is exceptional, Impressive, and most importantly genuine! As the district Manager of T-Mobile our sales Team can learn a lot from him….
Response: We are proud to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us, Joshua!

T. D.: Though they didn’t have neither soup nor calamari (oh, my☹️), we were very pleased with the service and food (amount and quality) and went there twice. Food made deliciously and we enjoyed every bite of it! Thank you for amazing food and service

Edward Harris: My go to for a Great Time!! If you ever want great service, great food and good drinks... this is your go to. Management is totally engaged with customers. Food is always good and fresh. Always a great environment. Never too loud and even when its busy, you always feel attended to. Cash is one the best bartenders there. Highly recommended👍🏽

Symea Johnson: Busy holiday weekend but was able to make a last minute reservation for dinner. Greeted by a very friendly host and our server was awesome! The menu has changed due to COVID but our server was able to get the kitchen to recreate the Tuscan shrimp &chicken (my favorite) it was soo good; they still have the take home pasta entree for $5! Ice cold water, fresh hot bread and main dish was all great and all for good price

B.J. K.: Went to Maggianos to meet Santa Claus. What a fabulous experience!! Food was excellent (definitely for an adult palate) santa was spectacular but most of all, the restaurant was beautifully decorated. Definitely had that Christmas glowing spirit inside this beautifully holiday themed restaurant, nice picture spots inside the restaurant (Christmas tree, fireplace) and I can’t wait to go back. Gave me the warm fuzzy feeling. Five stars ⭐️

Surbhi Kanotra: Cash is a great bartender and the Happy Hour has great drinks and 2 flatbread options.
Response: We are proud to hear that you had an overall enjoyable experience. We look forward to your next visit!

North Italia: what do users think?

Sherrine M. Thompson: Second time dining at North Italia. The fuse time, we came without a reservation and were seated almost promptly. The food is excellent the white truffle garlic bread. That dish is mouthwatering and addictive! The service and atmosphere on both visits were both good. On the second visit, the restaurant was quite busy so the food took a little longer to be served but understandable.
Response: Hi Sherrine, thank you for your review. We're so happy you enjoyed our atmosphere, White Truffle Garlic Bread, excellent food, and great service. We hope to see you again soon.

Allie Lawler: I’m so excited to give this place five stars I haven’t even left yet. I intended to dine elsewhere tonight and happened to pass by and was intrigued. So I decided to stop here and eat. Everything was fantastic. I tried a local craft beer from nearby in Virginia, which was awesome since I love exploring beers. My server, Michael T was genuine and friendly, and very prompt, never annoying. I got to sit by one of their large windows to still enjoy the nice day, and it’s very airy, open, and light inside, with a friendly atmosphere. My food was all perfect. You can tell a lot of care went into balancing flavors in the dishes, and I believe everyone, even the picky eaters (guilty!), will find something they love. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and am so glad I stopped. Excellent all the way through.
Response: Thank you so much for this review, Allie. We're glad you enjoyed our atmosphere, food, and service. We look forward to your next visit.

Crystalee: The food was very very good. Everything had the right amount of flavor. The vibes inside were great too and very clean including the restroom. Lastly the service was awesome our server he was great and we had a chance to meet the manager and he was very nice also.
Response: Thanks for your review, Crystalee. We're glad our team provided great food and service when you dined with us. We look forward to your next visit.

Victor Patel: Great atmosphere and overall ambiance, as well as delicious pizza. I think the tomato sauce is what made it so special. We tried the following pizzas: “The Pig” and “Margherita.” Great location, just down the road from the White House.
Response: Hi Victor, thank you for your review. We're so happy you enjoyed our great atmosphere, Margherita, and Pig Pizzas. We hope to see you again soon.

Soraya H: The Funghi pizza was actually so delicious, a little bit oily but still good. Staff / servers were very attentive & kind, spacious restaurant with natural lighting and nice ambiance. Good for a casual lunch outing. Had the squid ink pasta, nothing worth noting and would not order again, deff not worth the $30+ price for the plate, just tasted like tomato sauce & no other flavor.
Response: We're so glad you enjoyed our Funghi Pizza and attentive service, Soraya. We are so sorry you were not satisfied with your Squid Ink Mafaldine, and we will follow up on this with our team. Next time, please let our managers know if anything can be improved so we can do our best to make it right. Thank you for your review, and we hope to see you again soon.

Jelena M: Went in December 2021 and it quickly became a favorite restaurant for sure!!! The calamari is the best! And prior to that night I had never eaten any before 😅 but I ordered calamari since then (thank you North Italia for opening my taste buds to it) and none compare! The zucca chips were also a great appetizer, but if u have leftovers to take home, it gets very greasy! Love that the leftover pizza comes in a pizza box. I was also under 21 then and they had virgin cocktails! The one I had tasted nice. Their raspberry gelato was great, too!
Response: Thank you so much for this review, Jelena. We're glad you enjoyed our Crispy Calamari, pizza, and Zucca Chips. We look forward to your next visit.

SE4: We came without reservations and were seated without a wait. Atmosphere was nice with quite music and dim lighting. We ordered the pizza of the day which was a Brussel sprout and pistachio pizza and the Prosciutto pizza. Both were delicious. The Prosciutto has a fig sauce and the Brussel had a white sauce. Highly recommend both!! Down side was the service. Our service was very slow. We waited 10 mins for a drink order and just gave up on refills. Had to flag the waitress down for our check and the red sangria was disappointing with more water then wine. However, the manager did stop by the table and we will be back for that yummy pizza!! Pic of parking sign to help if you’re driving in.
Response: Thank you so much for this review, Sharise. We're glad you enjoyed our Prosciutto Pizza, and we are so sorry you were not satisfied with your service. We will follow up on this with our team. Next time, if anything about your experience can be improved, please let our managers know so we can do our best to make it right. We look forward to your next visit.

Sfoglina Downtown: what do users think?

Caitlyn Morris: I couldn’t say enough nice things about this place if I tried. After some extensive research combining ambience, food, dessert, cost, business (I’m still very covid-conscious, and overall experience, I decided on this place for our 2-year dating anniversary dinner. We had a reservation for 7pm on a Wednesday night. There were about 10 other guests there and we were hid away in a corner away from all of them which made my night very comfortable. The host asked the occasion and were very pleased to hear we chose them as our place to celebrate. The waiter, Jonathan, was full of great suggestions—we decided on the garlic bread and spiced calamari to start, a couple of cocktails, my boyfriend chose the goat cheese ravioli and I chose the gnocchi and mushroom dish. Everything was delicious (the gnocchi practically melted in my mouth) and the portions weren’t too big. In my opinion, the dishes were well-priced for the quality without breaking the bank. We both had dessert—tiramisu and the hazelnut cake—and both were divine. The restaurant helped us celebrate too with two glasses of champagne, a vanilla sorbet, and a lovely card. Thank you so much, Jonathan and Steven (Manager), for your wonderful service and gorgeous location. Last night was a night we’ll remember for a long time!

Cheyenne Quindara: Service was great and food was delicious. The garlic bread was a decent size for two and my pasta dish was the perfect dinner serving. The server was kind enough to gift us soft serve ice cream to eat with our cake.

Jordan Richardson: Went for dinner and got the garlic bread to start and the lasagna as my main dish. This restaurant was amazing and very authentic. The staff was extremely friendly. Had a cake, which I forgot the name of, for dessert and it tasted like a ferrero rocher! Great restaurant overall and I can’t wait to come back.

Mackenzie Daniele: STAY AWAY!!! Went here last Friday and this restaurant was truly the worst food I’ve had in my life. I went here with a group of 9 and we ALL were disgusted by this food. The meals either had no flavor at all or were saltier than ever. After the experience anyone who was able to scarf down their food had immense stomach pains the rest of the night. Truly upset by this experience and the money I spent. Over $500 for an experience that not 1 person enjoyed. I don’t understand how this place stays in business and how it has such high reviews.

Manuj Bhandari: Great Italian food for a good price. The Squid ink pasta and short rib ravioli are great. The drinks are amazing.

Monique Chislom: Doug was AMAZING ask for him. Beautiful ambiance. Great staff. Delicious food. Wonderful time.

Raffi Wineburg: Best pasta I’ve had in DC! They bring out a pasta board with all the shapes they have which is really unique. Good vibe in there. Only thing is that the wine list is super expensive. Have a 30 or even 40 dollar bottle on there would ya? I think cheapest bottle was around 60.

Mike Chen: This was the place we spent Thanksgiving dinner with friends. We were a walk-in party of 7 about an hour before they closed. They were pretty busy as well. The host and wait staff were extremely accommodating and sat us in a private room. Food was great. The calamari appetizer was amazing and everyone cleaned their plates! Highly recommend!

David Catanese: I took up a seat at the bar and a bit jokingly asked if this was better than Red Hen, and the two male bartenders aggressively defended Sfoglina’s sovereignty like it was Kiev. It was funny, but seemed intense. So being a journalist I pried a bit on why the location had closed multiple times over the years (twice in my decade) and they argued it was all under an umbrella group. But the previous restaurant had obviously failed. Admittedly I was being a bit aggressive, having come off a few cocktails. What was wild is that the bartenders took my comments personally and one ended up yelling, “have you ever run a restaurant man?” Lol, no I’m the customer. But the men behind the bar were so insecure they couldn’t do their basic job of a restaurant to laugh things off and provide service. Instead they chose a fight, slammed a glass and were visibly angered by my sarcastic wit. And to be clear, I was pushing them on their restaurant. But their response was laughable and embarrassing. But also hilarious. We left after the wonderful salad app and walked in the pouring rain to an Italian restaurant of less quality. But the bartender was much more welcoming there and the boys at Sfoglina have now been sent to Mariupol, Ukraine. They haven’t been heard from since. It seemed like a place still trying to figure out its staffing. But one wore a mask the entire time so I’m sure he felt vulnerable. We entered up leaving after a drink given the weird intensity of their response.

Tartufo Italian Restaurant: what do users think?

Lisa Lowe: Tasty caprese salad, fresh delicious pasta dishes and tiramisu, quiet charming setting, and attentive friendly service. Definitely coming back!

Erika Hernandez: We ordered from here yesterday and the food was disgusting. The eggplant wasn’t even cooked correctly. We called and they told us they would give us credit and to callback at 6pm-6:30pm today. We called and they didn’t answer our calls and the phone just keeps ringing.

Jeff Walter: Tartufo is so good. It’s a low key friendly restaurant. You can’t go wrong whiling away a nice afternoon here.

Alison Weiss: Sophisticated and friendly neighborhood restaurant. An elegant decor and attentive staff. Dinner here will make you feel you are dining in country. Take the time to enjoy all the courses. This is a place to go for a lovely evening with friends and family.

Jennifer Mitchell: Cozy, authentic, and delicious with excellent customer service. We made our second visit tonight and were reminded why we decided to return. Calamari, salads, pastas, and desserts will not disappoint. Freshly made and perfectly portioned. Recommended and will be revisiting.

Marielle Hart: Wonderful experience at this cozy, warm and authentic Italian restaurant. The food and service were superb. Highly recommend the caprese salad, the pasta alla Norma and the tiramisu. Wonderful service and easy street parking.

Nicolas Burch: Great relaxed ambiance and authentic cuisine! The owner was very nice and came to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Great value too!

Patrick Driscoll: I was in town visiting for work and heard about Tartufo from friends. I have to say that Abdi has created an amazing place with great ambience, tasty food, and fantastic clientele. The authentic and curated Italian cuisine was wonderful and I left a full - and sleepy - camper. Abdi knows what to order and what wine will match with definite expertise. I’ll be telling my DC friends to visit and will come back the next time I’m in town!

Alberto Lucini: There food is excellent. Calamari, sangiovese, chicken tartufo, and parmesan.

Sandeep Wilkhu: Excellent experienceWe sat in the bar because we did not have reservations. But our waitress Addison was so very excellent she made it an excellent experience. I would go back to the bar seating.

Charli Knows How To Eat: A very good friend of mine treated me to this very fancy dining experience. It was so amazing. I would recommend this restaurant for special events or celebrations. It is quite expensive however the service is great and the food is even better. I convinced my date that I’d like my own steak however I did not know they give you such large portions which is a first to see in a upscale restaurant like this. Nonetheless it was so tender and evenly cooked I ate every single piece !

raymond burgos: The service and hospitality are on par with the best in the world with amiable and capable staff. The presentation and food are excellent. The decor is well-suited to a high-end establishment and will make you break into a smile as soon as you walk in. The portions are good, not more significant portions - this is a tasting restaurant. Quality over quantity!

Des KF: My boyfriend and I had reservations for this restaurant for my birthday. When we arrived we walked in and was greeted by the hostess and she sat us. The tables were super close to one another which was the only downfall. Tim was our waiter and he was so nice and attentive. We started with drinks and I got the Spritz and Giggles, it was weak but it was tasty. For my entrée I got the king crab with squid ink pasta and that was good. My boyfriend got the shrimp scampi pasta and he really enjoyed it. Tim gave us a cheesecake because we waited for a while to get drinks and that was so nice and it was so tasty. I also slid in that it was my birthday and he gave me a small, cute dessert to sing happy birthday. I really enjoyed my time, the ambiance was great and so was the food and service.

Lin Dinh: dim, upbeat ambiance with upscale cocktails— perfect spot for a bourgeois night out. plates were tapas size but the perfect portions. the mushroom pizza was by far the best pizza I’ve ever had. the short ribs were also superb. love it here!

MADDART: It was my first time dining here. I ordered a New York strip which was about 16 ounces.(a lot bigger than I expected from an upscale restaurant. It was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. The server was a bit forgetful about a couple requests I had made for pepper and silverware. I had to ask several times. Other than that the setting was great and I enjoyed my time there.

H. Ibdah: Amazing service. Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. We went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The waiter was theatrically impressive. The food was outstanding. We tried many dishes, I only took a photo of the main courses. I highly recommend the octopus for a starter. For the main we had the lobster pasta, meatballs, steak and side dishes. Great for romantic dinners and for outing with friends.

john Dickerson: Reservation required, proof of covid vaccination with ID valet available $20. Service was outstanding John was our waiter, and he did a great job everything was swift and on time. The food was delicious, for appetizers we Truffled Garlic Bread Parmigiano-reggiano, 1/2 dozen half Shell oyster, truffle and parmesan cheese pizza, Big Eye Tuna Bruschetta Basil Aioli garlic toast, the main was Lobster Fra DiavolobCalabrian chili & tomato and Short Rib Bolognese Pappardelle, Rosemary. For dessert we had Tiramisu Whipped mascarpone & coffee.

Imani: The decor was nice. We liked our dishes but were not a fan of how soft the meatballs were. The plates were also small. We started off with a spritz for our drinks but sent it back because it was very sweet. We ordered a Paloma instead which was very delicious. The reasons for the star decrease was the hostess. We asked if we could move our table and she tried to explain the seating arrangements but made a condescending remark by saying “does that make sense” with a slight attitude which was very noticeable by the both of us.

Sfoglina Van Ness: what do users think?

Carrie Crowther: I have always heard great things about Sfoglina, and I was not disappointed on my visit. We went around 3:30/4pm so it wasn’t too busy at the restaurant as yet. The customer service was excellent, warm and welcoming. We had the pomegranate 75 for the cocktail and it was just the right amount of tart and sweetness. We also had the garlic bread, the squid ink lobster linguine and the pappardelle pasta with ragu. They were all flavorful and well prepared. The pasta was the right texture and the sauce perfectly coated it. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and heightened the experience. I will definitely return to try other dishes! Highly recommend.

Karis Lange: Welcoming, comfortable yet high-end atmosphere. Our server was informative, attentive, and friendly. From the warm rosemary bread, to the pasta, asparagus, and desserts - all were phenomenal. Portion sizes were perfect - not too big. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Kristin Crofts: Sfoglina has been my go-to birthday dinner spot for the past several years. Last year was a to-go order because of the pandemic, so this was my first time back inside the restaurant in about two years. They did not disappoint. They pulled out all of the stops with a very thoughtful glass of champagne to toast and a delicious apple vanilla gelato. The waitress and service was fantastic. Every bite of food was incredible - better than ever. The fall squash seasonal special was my favorite. They topped it off with a lovely handwritten note from Fabio - kind of cheesy but I love it. Thanks so much to Sfoglina Van Ness for the perfect evening.
Response: We're delighted to read this and thank you so much for your support. It's a pleasure to be part of your special tradition!

원오직나만: Excellent pasta selection. Flavors, textures are all perfect. The portion size is not too big.

Jacob Sharpe: Great pasta, very cute interior, nice outdoor space, solid wine list. Very good option for "nice dinner but not $200 for 2." Recommended.

Juan Sabater: I rarely review restaurants on Google but just had to share my wonderful experience at Sfoglina in Van Ness. From the atmosphere to the staff to the food, Sfoglina has it all. My party of 5 all adored our entrees, it really does seem that they do not have a bad item on the menu! The dessert is out of this world (TRY THE CHOCOLATE CAKE!!). The Restaurant Manager Eddie Huasasquiche and our Server went above and beyond any moment they could, they truly made it a wonderful dining experience. We especially enjoyed our servers willingness to offer recommendations of both food and drinks, they were all great choices. I look forward to returning back frequently and bringing other family and friends to enjoy this wonderful spot.

j17schis: Our food was great. Ever better was Jack, the host, who addressed my parents concerns about the airflow in their outdoor seating section. From the street, it seemed like the “outside” seating was closed in, but he explained that the sides were open and there was plenty of airflow.

Patrick Young: I loved their Easter decorations! They really went all out and the decorations are more classic too and remind me of better times! Their bread appetizer with olive oil is very tasty and the wait service was impeccable. The waiter misheard my original order, but they quickly corrected it and got me my correct dish. Both of our dishes were delicious and had plenty of sauce. The dessert was scrumptious too! All of these were a reasonable price as well. If you are going out for a date, I highly recommend this place! It’s so far my favorite Italian restaurant in DC!

Jessica Lopez: The restaurant goes all out with seasonal decorations, this time around Easter time. It was a bit strange seeing so many bunnies but at the same time the over decorating is what many Italian grandmas do! Service was decent, not the best. Portions are huge so definitely recommend sharing especially because of the prices. The bread service with the olive oil and spices was delicious, raviolis were great and the eclair was so delicious and creamy, it tasted like profiteroles actually. Definitely recommend coming back.

Laura Ruiz: My husband and me went to Georgetown to celebrate my birthday. We couldn’t make a reservation for dinner, however, we walked in around 3:30 and after a 5 minutes wait we had a table. The experience in this place was unforgettable. It started with three different kinds of homemade bread, follow for fresh appetizers, flavorful entrees, homemade amaretto and finally the best cannoli that we ever had.

Anthony Stewart: Spacious, friendly and really amazing fare. The host was magnanimous and his larger-than-life personality makes one feel welcome and as though the food will be authentically Italian, and the staff do not disappoint. The bread and pesto were brilliant, as were the stuffed mushroom starters. The main courses tasted amazing and arrived at our table in good time, allowing us the opportunity to experience how the meal tasted at all stages of temperature. Really great experience and one that makes one want to return again and again (and I’ll be happy to oblige). Unfortunately, a cupcake bakery not too far away got the better of our appetites before we dined at Filomena, so dessert was not on our menu for the afternoon’s meal, but next time! 5/5 well-deserved stars!

Inma Guerrero: We loved this crazy place. Uber decorated with Christmas things and on the expensive side. The pasta plates are huge, I guess you are supposed to share them and the chocolate cake super decadent. Great service too!

Brittany H: Dinner here was exceptional. Service staff was amazing. We did the harvest menu where you get to pick 4 items yourself and the chef picks the others for you. We had not one complaint. Every dish was delicious. Some of our favorites were the Eggplant Mousse, Langoustine, Childhood(Pasta), Farmers Steak(Wagyu)& the Sweet Beginnings(Pumpkin Spice "Latte," Honeynut Squash Gelato). It felt like by the end of the night we must of had 15+ dishes. Oh and the cocktails! Such an experience. Highly recommend ordering their specialty cocktails. It is like nothing you’ve experience before! Super creative & fun. Needless to say, you definitely get your moneys worth and will not leave hungry or unhappy. It was an amazing experience and we can’t wait to go back next time we’re in D.C.!

Hazel Sun: The yurt experience was beautiful. The design of the dishes, taste, and presentation were all creative and thoughtful. Also the portion sizes are very generous. The food itself was good, not amazing considering the price. But consider everything it’s worth the ticket. My favorite part was the pasta, mind-blowing. Not so impressed with my pork chop entry. The chickpea part was amazing, the pork itself was a bit boring.

Stacey King: Start to finish, a great experience with the tasting menu. But we were not as thrilled with the wine pairing. For $150 each we got 5 maybe 2-3 oz pours. And we were only delighted by one of the wines. But the service was outstanding.

nora a: my husband surprised me with a birthday dinner here and let me tell you, best food experience ever for the both of us. Everyone was so nice, the chef was very accommodating with our food substitutes and everything was perfect. It felt like a party in my mouth with every bite, so delicious! Will be back. Thank you again.

Dylan Prévost: Absolutely delightful celebration of spring. Fiola focuses heavily on local and seasonal produce, highlighting their selections in their written and spoken descriptions. The yurt was beautifully adorned, with good heating and options for ventilation, and came with its own little speaker, playing tasteful international music. Overall, we loved the atmosphere and the stunning diversity of the courses. Presentation of the dishes was clearly important to the chefs, truly eye candy when it arrives. The service was excellent and I was delighted to be offered a complementary dessert, based on the occasion we were celebrating. While we were impressed with most of the dishes, some fell short of excellence. Winners: the amouse bouche, seafood broth spaghetti antipasto, calabrian chili gremolata, au jus served in a burnt onion Less satisfied: dry/firm entree meats, a tiramisu whose chocolateyness was much too overpowering (despite its otherwise fun and novel style choices)

David Thomson: Best staff anywhere. Most of the courses were perfectly balanced. The peach and heirloom tomato gazpacho was my favorite.

Katsuyoshi Okuna: Elegant Italian cuisine. Wine list is amazing!

Tulsi: We had an amazing late birthday celebration at Fiola. They went above and beyond to make the evening special and memorable. The cupcakes they made for the occasion were the best we could remember - to die for. Whoever is running the pastry/baking and pastas knows what they’re doing! The seafood and cheese courses were also a highlight. Will def be back to try new items from their a la carte and wine list! Thank you to everyone involved in our meal ❤️🙂.

MILKOS D SOSA: This place is one of my favorite in DC. If you are in the city please don’t miss this restaurant. It is an Italian restaurant located in the Hamilton hotel. The food is delicious, perfectly prepared. The atmosphere is wonderful. Beautifully decorated and very elegant. Every detail is exquisite and nice. The quality of the food is really good, very fresh. Very well prepared and decent portions. It is not a typical restaurant where the portion of pasta fits in a spoon, no. I was very satisfied with everything. You can eat inside or outside enjoying the view of the park. Highly recommended. I will come back without a doubt!!! Thank you
Response: Thank you for the great review. We look forward to seeing you again.

Teo Yoo: Amazing Italian food with good vibes. Wood fired oven is a must try! Pork belly dish made me feel like I am in Michelin star restaurant.
Response: Thank you for the great review. We strive in giving a Michelin star experience without the prices. :)

SE4: We were seated quickly right on time with our reservation. We sat in the patio with perfect weather. The food was yummy I had the NY Strip and subbed the broccolini for the asparagus and my husband ordered the Nordic Cod. Recommend both dishes. The three stars are for the service. We waited quite a while for drinks and never asked for refills on our alcoholic beverages and never received them. We only saw our waiter when we ordered and when we received our check and would have really like to have had dessert and more drinks but we’re so annoyed at the lack of service we decided to have drinks and dessert somewhere else. Go for the food it is very good, and try sitting inside you may get better service.

C Yager: Excellent juicy and flavourful big burger, really good fries, small beer tap list (wish they had more local craft beers) quick and friendly service.

Kenny Lea-Wilson: Average food for above average prices is what I thought. I guess I’m critical of Italian food, but if that’s your main thing you serve it should be REALLY GOOD. Service was excellent though

Zerah Kawami: Lovely food and great service. Each dish was delicious and had a lot of good flavor.

David Miller: I’m visiting DC for a long weekend and thought I’d try this place out for an early dinner before the crowds invaded. The pomegranate margarita happy hour special was small but powerful. I think the second was even more potent than the first. Then I had my go-to for Italian restaurants- the chicken Parmesan. It was very good, with a chunky marinara sauce on the linguini. I do wish that came with a spoon so I didn’t have sauce splashing everywhere. As I ate, I noticed regulars making their way in, as the staff was clearly familiar with them. I’ll definitely go back the next time I’m in town.

Fernanda Lanzagorta: Its a good spot for classic Italian from pizzas to pastas. The staff is always friendly.

lv vl: Good kitchen, tastes good. The utensils would be good if changed because they look very old and used! Otherwise service ok good for the price!

Constance Brown: I had the seafood pasta, Mozzarella cheese sticks, garlic bread and red sangria. The food tastes amazing, authentic and flavored. The customer service was impeccable. We sat out on the patio and the sever provided us with bug spray and citronella candle to fight off of the bugs. I would give this restaurant 10 stars. Must try 😋

Papa Stauth: Ricotta Cheese Ravioli in Alfredo sauce, Eggplant Parmigiana, Baked Lasagna with house made Cheese Sticks ALL very good

Abrar Thabit: Very delicious Italian food. We ordered a customized pizza and chicken fettuccine Alfredo. The service was good, as well. Spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas. We were four and the food was more than enough. The check came for $55.5 only!

Lori Gardiner: We were visiting DC and stayed at a nearby hotel. We discovered this gem by accident and had a very tasty meal here. The chicken parmigiana was very good and the bread with olive oil was delicious. Service was very good too. We were very pleased.

Michael's Little Italy: what do users think?

sandra baker: My sweet son brought me here for Mother’s Day lunch. Mike’s little Italy is super charming atmosphere, great service, and the food was delicious! Highly recommend

Srh Dwy: I post reviews when absolutely necessary. It was my family’s first time here, and unfortunately, we are very dissatisfied. My oldest requested lasagna for dinner, so we decided to do takeout. We came home to a COLD $24 lasagna. I called the restaurant to give them a chance to make it right. Sadly, we will NOT be returning to Michael’s Little Italy. You might go home with cold food, and the thought of checking to make sure seems unsanitary.

Mark Simonik: Ordered chicken parm that had no cheese, no breading, no flavor. Very tangy sauce. Can’t imagine anyone would make a sauce that tastes like this so it must be from a can or jar. One stars are because the food was ready for pick up on time and the salad we ordered was very good.

Perks Advisor: Michael’s reminds me more of an old school Italian restaurant with some of the typical tomato based sauces. What I liked about the restaurant was that it was in a quaint townhouse with fireplaces and had a comfortable feel to it. With so many corporate and restaurant groups around the area, it is nice to have a sole proprietor with their own establishment. My eggplant parmesan had a rich sauce and there was plenty of eggplant. They also serve pizza. Overall, it was a decent experience and I would like to try some of the other pastas.

Kayla N: 5/5 must try!! Amazing vibes, the best service (we sat at the bar and every server/bartender we interacted with was the most friendly and kind people I’ve met), and DELICIOUS food. If you ever wanted to have dinner in a club, that was what it was like that night. They apparently had a farewell party for some of their workers going back to Italy, which was why there was a live DJ playing bopping Italian songs and people were clapping and low key dancing. I think normally it would be a less club-y vibe. I would have liked a calmer vibe but everyone was so nice and made it enjoyable. The bread with the chili balsamic olive oil dip was amazing. The octopus was grilled to perfection and the wild mushroom pasta was well flavored and not overly salty. They were also so generous and gave us complimentary shots of I don’t remember but it tasted like a dessertish like alcohol. For the price and service, definitely worth it and will go back!

clare kane: Good but the sauces for the sauces were a bit basic. The flavor wasn’t very developed and seemed like something that can be made at home. Loved the Focaccia and the appetizer that was basically brie wrapped in cursed meat with a sweet balsamic glaze.

Krista Claire: Amazing food and amazing people! Our waiter and bar tender helped us decide what food and drinks were best for us to try as this was a new experience for us. Me and my husband both enjoyed every bit of our experience here.

Alex Navarro: I did not have high expectations for this spot on 18th street. However, the food and service were excellent. They have a great happy hour and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I got the short rib pasta and it was delicious. The meat was so tender and the pasta tasted fresh.

Todd Harris: We had a very nice meal outside. Each meal had great and savory flavors with no need to add extra seasoning. The pasta was light and tender and just absorbed the sauce. We are definitely coming back.

Belkiss Anane: Some of the best Italian pasta in town! I loved my short rib Pappardelle! The staff are sweet and offered us free drinks because we had to wait a little bit for our table.

K G: Exquisite. A truly fantastic dining experience. Authentic, phenomenal, Italian food in a cool space. Great service, drinks, appetizers, and mains. AND THE FOCACCIA 🏻... We ate too much so we were sad to miss dessert - but we will split a main next time and be sure to get it. Probably one of the best places I have been in DC in my 15+ years here.

Joey C: I placed an order online from my hotel room while traveling for work in DC. I called the restaurant to ask for some silverware and bread as I was in a hotel with nothing. The guy was extremely nice and said absolutely we can do that. The driver arrived 25 minutes EARLIER than the quoted time and the delivery driver was also very personable and nice. The food arrived hot and everything was delicious. I would definitely order from here again. Great food and great staff! Try the Bucatini pasta. You will not be disappointed!

Ana Fowler: Authentic Italian experience, service that made you feel like family. One of the most accommodating dining experiences ever - will be coming back! Grazie :) And I came back! Amazing service as usual - Darko, the manager, is extremely attentive and knowledgeable, qualities hard to find. The food melts in your mouth - an experience you never want to end. The team at Retrobottega made my birthday a very special occasion - my favorite restaurant in D.C. ❤️

2 Amys: what do users think?

Jan gk: Wonderful food and quaint atmosphere! We had the cod croquettes, lamb skewers, deviled eggs and pizza, so so good, we will return soon.

Sam Wash: The pizza at 2 Amy’s is quite good. I would say they have a lot of competition . The bad is the seating. I had to wait over 1hour and 15 min with 2 tweens . Not a great experience and to top it off the waiter was rude and did not want to hear my complaints. Terrible service. Not worth the hassle there are too many authentic Neapolitan pizza places. If they can improve the wait and train the staff better they would be all set. On top of it they have an indoor mask policy or vaccination. Hello DC does not require this. Also to charge a mandatory service charge when the service sucks. Not good.

Jacob White: They were heavy on salt, sparse on the sauce, and the quality of the crust left something to be desired. The service and atmosphere was great, but in my experience, how the food looked did not match how it tasted. It was by no means gross, but there are better Neapolitan pizzerias in the area. Frankly, I’d choose Puppatella over 2 Amys.

Jack Shorb: No brainer 5 star review. Feels distinctly different from other DC restaurants. Great relaxed non pretentious vibe. Food is simple but perfect. Amazing ingredients and flavor. Go if you have not!

Ron Shipley: 2 Amys never disappoints. We ordered from the daily specials: pea soup with poached egg, fried green tomatoes and a morel mushroom pizza along with a side salad and rhubarb ice cream for desert. Every dish was great!

Karen Blonder: Amazing. The pizza here is always outstanding. Appetizers delicious.....and we did several of the specials. If you are there and they have raw artichoke salad...get it. So fresh and delicious.

H D: Overrated unfortunately. I have been twice. First visit, service was poor, the second visit better—but expect a long wait and they don’t take reservations. Food is underwhelming and lacking in flavor and seasoning, although I’m sure the ingredient quality is good. Prepare to overpay for what you will receive. I respect that the tip is included. However, the owners (and some staff) seem to have a chip on their shoulder or are aloof about the place in general.

wmcqb16: Loved the DTSS location. First time here. Everything just felt rushed. Drinks were not great. Service tried to keep up with a Friday rush. The lovely homemade pasta was undercooked and under seasoned. Hoping for better next time. No way we’ll go out like that

Tami Nocket: Came on a Wednesday and it was busy. That is a good sign. Our waitress gave us excellent recommendations. We had the Trout(special) Chicken Parm and spaghetti and meat balls. All EXCELLENT!! The calamari appetizer was missing flavor. Needed the marinara sauce. The cannoli was EXCELLENT! Was taken back by the price but once we saw the portion size..worth it! You can share for sure. We will be back. Love small places

Barb: A lovely small restaurant, great Italian food, great service. We had a get together with another family, they sat us at a table on its own, which was really nice. I highly recommend this to all!

Ronda Dressen: Service was fast and friendly. Food was very good. Use lots of olive oil. A large family party came in after we were served. Loud joyful exchanges that made it difficult to carry on a conversation so we left sooner than expected.

Margi Sigler: Well, that was absolutely, delightfully wonderful! Ate here on our way to visit Mormon Temple. What a great beginning to our day. We dined on the patio. Every bite was heavenly.

Elisa Ferrante: Great place for a Friday evening as it was busy but not overly crowded and no wait. The servers are attentive and friendly, the ambiance is great and the food was very good. We had a great appetizer and awesome pizzas. The kitchen is open concept and we could see generous portions being sent to their tables with very tasty looking food. The cocktails were well made as well! Also very affordable for this area.
