Carmine's Italian Restaurant - Washington D.C.: what do users think?

Albert Jonathan: Looking for an Italian food in the downtown area, and found this decent Italian restaurant. Overall, we had a great dining experience. The server was very friendly and professional, she started by explaining a few things about the restaurant and told us that the food is supposed to be shared by 2-3 people per portion. Foods taste great and the price is reasonable.

Mark Michael Blue: Great food, however for less than 3 or 4 people not well suited. The only regular tables are available for a menu that only serves family-sizes. So if you go there alone as I did, you either have tons of leftovers or ruin every diet you’re on - also, whatever you order apart from drinks comes multiplied by 4 basically and costs accordingly. So ordering a simple garlic bread sets you back 15 USD and you get like 9 pieces. No issue if you sit at the bar to get human-sized portions, however it tainted the experience a little. Nonetheless, the food was gorgeous and the staff great!

Shad Kearns: Excellent Italian restaurant! We had a great dining experience. The server was very friendly and professional, she started by explaining a few things about the restaurant and told us that the food is supposed to be shared by 2-3 people per portion. Foods taste great and the price is reasonable.

Luke Meyers: Restaurant had a good feel to it. Located in heart of DC. Food was very good and the size of portions family style. Family of 4 and we just did sides, glad we did, plenty for the empty stomachs after walking the Mall and plenty to bring back to the hotel. Place was packed and full of people. Meatballs and eggplant made the family happy. For post dining though not on the menu, a few glasses of limoncello, only the Italian might ask. Food was priced for area.

Mike Olson: First time dining and didn’t realize it’s family style but luckily I’m old enough to sit at the bar where smaller portions are offered. Ordered the Rigatoni with Broccoli and Sausage with a Red Sauce. It was a busy Saturday night and the food took longer to arrive than I’d have liked but once it did I was instantly impressed and very satisfied with the meal. Also worth mentioning that the service at the bar was exceptional and truly professional.

Kim Nguyen: Carmine’s offers family style dishes. By family style, I mean big portions. We ordered a shrimp scampi with linguine for 2 of us. We couldn’t finish half of the portion. It was huge as you can see in the photo (the knife for size preference). Carmine’s is perfect for a family of 4 or more because you can get the most for the value. Reservation is recommended.

Karoline Melo: The place is nice for a family gathering. The dishes are HUGE, really HUGE, it easily serves 5 people. Just a tip: they serve half portion of the cannoli, but you have to ask because it’s not written in the menu. The food is tasty, the chicken parmigiana is one of the best I had. The cannoli was good too!

Joyce Griffin: So much food. Serve many portions. The courses were a great variety, salads, muscles, shrimp, fish, pasta, lasagne, fresh fruit, dessert, beverage. All you could eat. Went as a group to celebrate graduation. Servers were awesome, attentive and made sure we had extra portions if we wanted. Would highly recommend even though price per person was $70. It was worth it.

Sandeep Wilkhu: Excellent experienceWe sat in the bar because we did not have reservations. But our waitress Addison was so very excellent she made it an excellent experience. I would go back to the bar seating.

Charli Knows How To Eat: A very good friend of mine treated me to this very fancy dining experience. It was so amazing. I would recommend this restaurant for special events or celebrations. It is quite expensive however the service is great and the food is even better. I convinced my date that I’d like my own steak however I did not know they give you such large portions which is a first to see in a upscale restaurant like this. Nonetheless it was so tender and evenly cooked I ate every single piece !

raymond burgos: The service and hospitality are on par with the best in the world with amiable and capable staff. The presentation and food are excellent. The decor is well-suited to a high-end establishment and will make you break into a smile as soon as you walk in. The portions are good, not more significant portions - this is a tasting restaurant. Quality over quantity!

Des KF: My boyfriend and I had reservations for this restaurant for my birthday. When we arrived we walked in and was greeted by the hostess and she sat us. The tables were super close to one another which was the only downfall. Tim was our waiter and he was so nice and attentive. We started with drinks and I got the Spritz and Giggles, it was weak but it was tasty. For my entrée I got the king crab with squid ink pasta and that was good. My boyfriend got the shrimp scampi pasta and he really enjoyed it. Tim gave us a cheesecake because we waited for a while to get drinks and that was so nice and it was so tasty. I also slid in that it was my birthday and he gave me a small, cute dessert to sing happy birthday. I really enjoyed my time, the ambiance was great and so was the food and service.

Lin Dinh: dim, upbeat ambiance with upscale cocktails— perfect spot for a bourgeois night out. plates were tapas size but the perfect portions. the mushroom pizza was by far the best pizza I’ve ever had. the short ribs were also superb. love it here!

MADDART: It was my first time dining here. I ordered a New York strip which was about 16 ounces.(a lot bigger than I expected from an upscale restaurant. It was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. The server was a bit forgetful about a couple requests I had made for pepper and silverware. I had to ask several times. Other than that the setting was great and I enjoyed my time there.

H. Ibdah: Amazing service. Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. We went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The waiter was theatrically impressive. The food was outstanding. We tried many dishes, I only took a photo of the main courses. I highly recommend the octopus for a starter. For the main we had the lobster pasta, meatballs, steak and side dishes. Great for romantic dinners and for outing with friends.

john Dickerson: Reservation required, proof of covid vaccination with ID valet available $20. Service was outstanding John was our waiter, and he did a great job everything was swift and on time. The food was delicious, for appetizers we Truffled Garlic Bread Parmigiano-reggiano, 1/2 dozen half Shell oyster, truffle and parmesan cheese pizza, Big Eye Tuna Bruschetta Basil Aioli garlic toast, the main was Lobster Fra DiavolobCalabrian chili & tomato and Short Rib Bolognese Pappardelle, Rosemary. For dessert we had Tiramisu Whipped mascarpone & coffee.

Imani: The decor was nice. We liked our dishes but were not a fan of how soft the meatballs were. The plates were also small. We started off with a spritz for our drinks but sent it back because it was very sweet. We ordered a Paloma instead which was very delicious. The reasons for the star decrease was the hostess. We asked if we could move our table and she tried to explain the seating arrangements but made a condescending remark by saying “does that make sense” with a slight attitude which was very noticeable by the both of us.

Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant: what do users think?

Jasdeep Grewal: We came as a party of six on a Saturday night and seated promptly. The food came out reasonably timed and fresh. Everything piping hot with the except of the chicken Marsala. Overall, the food tasted fantastic and the portion sizes are very generous. The “Apple Gorgonzola” salad is a must-try! The decor is quaint and there’s so much to discover with all the vintage pictures on the walls. I would definitely come back.

Lori Arnold: Took a group of 42 students and 5 chaperones for dinner. For the large groups that were in there, staff was accommodating. Family style meal. Spaghetti and delicious. Plenty of salads. Could have used butter for the bread and more bread. Also drink refills.

Nic ellison: This place was great. The food was delicious. Sean was our waiter and he was very attentive and we enjoyed hearing about his life. We are visiting from Houston and found this on Google maps. Great place and history on the walls is awesome.

Sharon Youngdahl: Went to a family birthday party. Food was great. Such a fun place!!

Filomena Ristorante: what do users think?

Patrick Young: I loved their Easter decorations! They really went all out and the decorations are more classic too and remind me of better times! Their bread appetizer with olive oil is very tasty and the wait service was impeccable. The waiter misheard my original order, but they quickly corrected it and got me my correct dish. Both of our dishes were delicious and had plenty of sauce. The dessert was scrumptious too! All of these were a reasonable price as well. If you are going out for a date, I highly recommend this place! It’s so far my favorite Italian restaurant in DC!

Jessica Lopez: The restaurant goes all out with seasonal decorations, this time around Easter time. It was a bit strange seeing so many bunnies but at the same time the over decorating is what many Italian grandmas do! Service was decent, not the best. Portions are huge so definitely recommend sharing especially because of the prices. The bread service with the olive oil and spices was delicious, raviolis were great and the eclair was so delicious and creamy, it tasted like profiteroles actually. Definitely recommend coming back.

Laura Ruiz: My husband and me went to Georgetown to celebrate my birthday. We couldn’t make a reservation for dinner, however, we walked in around 3:30 and after a 5 minutes wait we had a table. The experience in this place was unforgettable. It started with three different kinds of homemade bread, follow for fresh appetizers, flavorful entrees, homemade amaretto and finally the best cannoli that we ever had.

Anthony Stewart: Spacious, friendly and really amazing fare. The host was magnanimous and his larger-than-life personality makes one feel welcome and as though the food will be authentically Italian, and the staff do not disappoint. The bread and pesto were brilliant, as were the stuffed mushroom starters. The main courses tasted amazing and arrived at our table in good time, allowing us the opportunity to experience how the meal tasted at all stages of temperature. Really great experience and one that makes one want to return again and again (and I’ll be happy to oblige). Unfortunately, a cupcake bakery not too far away got the better of our appetites before we dined at Filomena, so dessert was not on our menu for the afternoon’s meal, but next time! 5/5 well-deserved stars!

Inma Guerrero: We loved this crazy place. Uber decorated with Christmas things and on the expensive side. The pasta plates are huge, I guess you are supposed to share them and the chocolate cake super decadent. Great service too!

Sfoglina Van Ness: what do users think?

Carrie Crowther: I have always heard great things about Sfoglina, and I was not disappointed on my visit. We went around 3:30/4pm so it wasn’t too busy at the restaurant as yet. The customer service was excellent, warm and welcoming. We had the pomegranate 75 for the cocktail and it was just the right amount of tart and sweetness. We also had the garlic bread, the squid ink lobster linguine and the pappardelle pasta with ragu. They were all flavorful and well prepared. The pasta was the right texture and the sauce perfectly coated it. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and heightened the experience. I will definitely return to try other dishes! Highly recommend.

Karis Lange: Welcoming, comfortable yet high-end atmosphere. Our server was informative, attentive, and friendly. From the warm rosemary bread, to the pasta, asparagus, and desserts - all were phenomenal. Portion sizes were perfect - not too big. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Kristin Crofts: Sfoglina has been my go-to birthday dinner spot for the past several years. Last year was a to-go order because of the pandemic, so this was my first time back inside the restaurant in about two years. They did not disappoint. They pulled out all of the stops with a very thoughtful glass of champagne to toast and a delicious apple vanilla gelato. The waitress and service was fantastic. Every bite of food was incredible - better than ever. The fall squash seasonal special was my favorite. They topped it off with a lovely handwritten note from Fabio - kind of cheesy but I love it. Thanks so much to Sfoglina Van Ness for the perfect evening.

원오직나만: Excellent pasta selection. Flavors, textures are all perfect. The portion size is not too big.

Jacob Sharpe: Great pasta, very cute interior, nice outdoor space, solid wine list. Very good option for "nice dinner but not $200 for 2." Recommended.

Juan Sabater: I rarely review restaurants on Google but just had to share my wonderful experience at Sfoglina in Van Ness. From the atmosphere to the staff to the food, Sfoglina has it all. My party of 5 all adored our entrees, it really does seem that they do not have a bad item on the menu! The dessert is out of this world (TRY THE CHOCOLATE CAKE!!). The Restaurant Manager Eddie Huasasquiche and our Server went above and beyond any moment they could, they truly made it a wonderful dining experience. We especially enjoyed our servers willingness to offer recommendations of both food and drinks, they were all great choices. I look forward to returning back frequently and bringing other family and friends to enjoy this wonderful spot.

j17schis: Our food was great. Ever better was Jack, the host, who addressed my parents concerns about the airflow in their outdoor seating section. From the street, it seemed like the “outside” seating was closed in, but he explained that the sides were open and there was plenty of airflow.

Kiffa Shirley: An amazing foodie experience. The personal experience from ALL the staff from the moment we walked in made for the start of an truly special anniversary dinning experience. Well worth the $$$. Jackets are not required for gentlemen, but I was also one of the very few without. The food was delicious and the photos don’t do them Justice. The neighboring tables were engaging and open for menu suggestions back and forth. And I think we saw a notable or too if your into the DC scene.

Andras Heczey: This is an outstanding restaurant within the heart of Washington DC. The venue was renovated during the pandemic, has a brand new interior with nice noise dampening ceiling panels which certainly keep the ambiance. Service is exceptional with knowledgeable waiting staff. The food is Italian inspired modern dishes including refined selection of pastas, octopus with apple puree, perfectly prepared beef tenderloin, squid ink infused risotto with grilled calamari etc. Their wine list is dominated by an Italian selection complimented with Californian wines. From their deserts, the panna cotta is exceptional. Not cheap, but for this experience, it is worth it.

Stefan Tobler: A wonderful dining experience, excellent service and atmosphere. Food is delicious, you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. A memorable spot, highly recommended.

Gregory Leung: This was the best meal in recent memory. Risotto squid ink and grilled calamari was sublime. Roasted cauliflower amazing. Jay was fabulously knowledgeable about the wine and food selection. Truly an impressive and memorable evening.

Scott Matus: Needed a place to go for a pre-show meal and TOSCA did not disappoint. Everything from the food to the service and ambiance was excellent. The grilled Bronzino was especially delicious and perfectly cooked.

Michelle Alcanter: Great service, great food, great portion! Overall very pleasant experience. The ribeye steak was fantastic, very tender with a great onion sauce. I also like the half pasta portion so that you have room to try other things!

Agustina Fainguersch: Absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had. We ordered the prosciutto appetizer, the spaghetti, the agnolotti, and the tiramisu. Left absolutely satisfied with the food and service.

Sfoglina Downtown: what do users think?

Caitlyn Morris: I couldn’t say enough nice things about this place if I tried. After some extensive research combining ambience, food, dessert, cost, business (I’m still very covid-conscious, and overall experience, I decided on this place for our 2-year dating anniversary dinner. We had a reservation for 7pm on a Wednesday night. There were about 10 other guests there and we were hid away in a corner away from all of them which made my night very comfortable. The host asked the occasion and were very pleased to hear we chose them as our place to celebrate. The waiter, Jonathan, was full of great suggestions—we decided on the garlic bread and spiced calamari to start, a couple of cocktails, my boyfriend chose the goat cheese ravioli and I chose the gnocchi and mushroom dish. Everything was delicious (the gnocchi practically melted in my mouth) and the portions weren’t too big. In my opinion, the dishes were well-priced for the quality without breaking the bank. We both had dessert—tiramisu and the hazelnut cake—and both were divine. The restaurant helped us celebrate too with two glasses of champagne, a vanilla sorbet, and a lovely card. Thank you so much, Jonathan and Steven (Manager), for your wonderful service and gorgeous location. Last night was a night we’ll remember for a long time!

Cheyenne Quindara: Service was great and food was delicious. The garlic bread was a decent size for two and my pasta dish was the perfect dinner serving. The server was kind enough to gift us soft serve ice cream to eat with our cake.

Jordan Richardson: Went for dinner and got the garlic bread to start and the lasagna as my main dish. This restaurant was amazing and very authentic. The staff was extremely friendly. Had a cake, which I forgot the name of, for dessert and it tasted like a ferrero rocher! Great restaurant overall and I can’t wait to come back.

Manuj Bhandari: Great Italian food for a good price. The Squid ink pasta and short rib ravioli are great. The drinks are amazing.

Monique Chislom: Doug was AMAZING ask for him. Beautiful ambiance. Great staff. Delicious food. Wonderful time.

Raffi Wineburg: Best pasta I’ve had in DC! They bring out a pasta board with all the shapes they have which is really unique. Good vibe in there. Only thing is that the wine list is super expensive. Have a 30 or even 40 dollar bottle on there would ya? I think cheapest bottle was around 60.

Mike Chen: This was the place we spent Thanksgiving dinner with friends. We were a walk-in party of 7 about an hour before they closed. They were pretty busy as well. The host and wait staff were extremely accommodating and sat us in a private room. Food was great. The calamari appetizer was amazing and everyone cleaned their plates! Highly recommend!

Tortino Restaurant: what do users think?

Adam Galazka: Amazing.....Amazing....Amazing. This place is a gem. They were very accommodating to my family of five. Service was amazing and food was delicious. For appetizers we tried mushroom soup and grilled octopus. Perfect flavor and temperature. For dinner we tried a variety of pastas and a Salmon dish. Again delicious and food temperature was perfect. Did not have to wait very long for food to come to the table. By far one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to.

Ally T: Absolutely love this place! Truly a hidden gem in the DC area. I come here EVERY time I’m in the area and am never disappointed. The kindest staff, amazing food and reasonable prices! So delicious! A must try!

Paul LaVigne: A hidden gem that deserves to be experienced by everyone. This Italian restaurant may be small in size, however the food is amazing. Some local DC friends picked this restaurant to meet us out for dinner tonight, and we are so glad they did. We started out with the Beef Carpaccio, Buffalo mozzarella, arugula, pesto, and spicy micro-greens appetizer. It is a light weight appetizer that packs a punch of flavor. For the main course my wife had the Saffron Taglierini with scallops. She says it was as delicious as it sounds. I ordered the Lamb Shank - Ossobucco style with spinach mash potatoes. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the dish as a whole was fantastic as well as more than I could eat in one setting, so I will be enjoying the leftovers for another meal. To top everything off, we had their tiramisu for dessert. It was very good. Next time though I think we’ll try the cheesecake.

Peter W.: Great Italian place! We got the lamb ravioli which was exceptionally good. The linguini and taglierini was both good in its own way. Scallop appetizer was well cooked but a bit too salty. Would recommend overall.

Lady Abbo: This is a truly authentic experience of Italian cuisine! A very relaxed and intimate environment. From pasta to dessert a joy for your taste buds!

Leopoldo Avellan: Grilled octopus very good, risotto with lobster and shrimp sublime. The Tiramisu was awesome. The canoli were average. Alex, our server was superb

Alta Strada - Washington, DC: what do users think?

Zoe B: Came for my birthday dinner with my husband during restaurant week. Our server (I think Patricia) was really sweet. All of the food was really good except the clam pasta wasnt the best. Could have had more sauce and clams were a bit overdone. Otherwise everything else was delicious though!

Kayla McAleer: Alta Strada was recommended to us by friends, and it was the perfect place for a dinner date! It was quiet and decorated nicely. The menu is priced fairly for the large portion of food the entrees are. We got the ziti and spaghetti cacio e pepe and both were delicious, especially the ziti. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the bathrooms were clean. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Corinthia Cromwell: Had dinner last night with a large group of musicians & friends & the food was delicious, the service was excellent & friendly & the atmosphere was exquisite. I ordered the Caesar salad as my appetizer & it was not only delicious, the presentation was outstanding. My entree was equally delicious & again the presentation was excellent!!!!

Antonina Lovyn: I came here with my sister on a sister date and we’ve both really enjoyed the food and the service in this restaurant. I recommend coming here if you’re craving some carbs!!

Esther Sang: The service and food was great! We got the grilled pizza, margarita pizza, and penne alla vodka and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was good, constant water refills and the chef was so kind as to gift us these cannolis. Besides that, there was a rude bald man that when I tried to use the bathroom he bashed on me and I found that rude.

Jack Sparrow225: A great little authentic Italian restaurant. Stopped for supper with my grandpa while visiting. Delicious food and good service

JA KP (JAKP): Ben is fabulous. Totally knowledgeable about the food and the wine. Truly enjoys his job and his customers. Rebecca is the best. Very caring about how her customers are enjoying their meal. Her customer service is genuine, as well as her enjoyment of the food.

Jenn C.: Nice dining experience good service and great food.

Nicole R: My husband and I went here for lunch on our anniversary. The food was amazing! I had the tortellini and he had the lasagna. Everything was so fresh and delicious!

Carolyn Rider: I dined here with 2 others for restaurant week. $40 for an appetizer, dinner, and dessert. The appetizers were great - we got the gnocchi, Arancini, and the Salumi. We paired it with some excellent wine. For dinner, the lasagna was 10/10. Super cute vibes, the restaurant is in an old house. Service is excellent.

Julia A.: Good service and amazing (and very creative!) cocktails. The food disappointed a bit (was expecting more flavor and more freshness), but I am willing to try other dishes next time.

Ashley Dobbs: Went out for a date night and was not disappointed. We began the night with cocktails, warm bread and the BEST pesto I’ve ever tasted. We then had the lasagna and shrimp & scallop risotto. Both were cooked to perfection. Finished the night with an amazing teramisu. Don’t even question if this place is worth it. Just go!

Heather Walker: Excellent food! Our server, Kyle was great and very attentive! A bit cramped inside and noisy but otherwise all was great!

San Lorenzo: what do users think?

Allie Bluhm-Whitley: We had a fantastic dinner at San Lorenzo! The service was fantastic and extremely caring. We were unable to get a table during our reservation time, which was already not a problem because they have a lovely bar to eat at, but the manager Christina took special care of us because of the inconvenience. The food was spectacular and dessert was perfect. I can’t wait to return!

Greg Young: Dinner with friends in from NYC, did not disappoint. Intimate space and delicious food. You could not avoid a delicious choice on the menu—we tried the veal, rabbit ragu pappardelle and halibut entrees and had calamari and squash blossoms starters. So very good.

Dawson Brunswick: San Lorenzo and its staff were great. The truffle mushroom tortellini was absolutely amazing. The portion size was just right for lunch. There was a nice crowd at lunch time, but I was able to be seated right away and the service was very timely. Would definitely return when in the area.

Philip Pena: If you’re looking for great food, phenomenal service, nice vibes, look no further. I admit, the outside facade looks kind of questionable but once you get inside, it’s gorgeous, the staff are beyond friendly - I received multiple free dishes (I was moving into the neighborhood and got free desert) — also do yourself a favor and get SQUASH BLOSSOMS. Unreal. Carrot and ginger soup was the weirdest creation I’ve ever heard but the most delectable, light, tasty, soup my lips have ever had the privilege of interacting with. — SAN LORENZO is best Italian in Shaw. Don’t walk, RUN!

Simoní Schmidt: Adorable restaurant! The food is amazing, a little bit overpriced, but very tasty. The service is very good! Bianca was super kind and adorable! We had Bruschetta, Pappardelli and Tortelli. And for dessert, Bianca suggested us a great cheesecake!

Rachel S: San Lorenzo is a gem of a restaurant. Every time I dine here I am reminded how lucky I am to live so close to this place! The lunch sandwiches were a wonderful treat during my work from home days, and I was pleased to see them on the menu when I last went in for a business lunch. I have never had a bad meal here. The bread, pasta, fish, desserts, drinks, and everything else are lovely. Do your self a favor and book a table for a quiet and delicious meal in the heart of DC.

D G: Phenomenal food! Called to make a reservation for 8 on a busy Saturday night, around 2 weeks before said dinner. Christina from San Lorenzo was super helpful in talking through the food options and what the dinner would entail. Everything we ate was amazing, and because it was a fixed priced course, had plenty of food for everyone. Top notch Italian food in a funny little spot.

Hong Lin: My friend and I had an amazing time at this restaurant! Our bartender, Emily, was attentive and gave us wonderful recommendations. The mango & passionfruit cheesecake was amazing, and the truffle tortelli and lobster risotto were also lovely.

Lupo Verde: what do users think?

Rae Huggins: What an amazing experience dining at Lupo Verde. Everything from the ambiance, hand crafted cocktails to our mouth watering meals. Our bartenders, wait staff and even the restaurant management were all very kind and personable. We felt so at home while dining at this establishment. So, much so that the Executive Chef came out just to take a photo with us. By far, one of the most authentic Italian restaurants in DC. Love this place. Highly recommend it!!

Danielle Perdue: The social brunch is such a great deal! For $35 pp you get an appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 side, and a bottle of sparkling wine to share. The food was delicious. I wish our server would have been able to explain the menu options a bit more. We chose a steak dish but had no idea it was actually a sandwich. When I asked the server about it he didn’t explain how the dish was presented. Luckily, it worked out and we loved it. I know the service industry is struggling to find staff, and that our server was doing the best he could with little support. This may be a wild idea but maybe his manager could’ve helped him versus walking around and not engaging with guests? Also, the young lady doing “wine service” needs to be taught the proper technique of opening sparkling wine. If not she might take an eye out. Other than that… I would dine here again.

Dan Rodriguez: I like it here. Been a few times already, once for dinner and twice for brunch. Their fixed priced brunch is great. Flavors are fresh and pasta is amazing. Drinks are good too. Service is appropriate and prices are comparable to similar type of establishments if only slightly better.

Kentaro: Loved the atmosphere here, and the waiters were all very nice. We thought everything would be a small portion but they gave us much more than expected, maybe price was higher? Not sure about it but anyways the food was great especially the calamari and gnocchi with clams!

Alex L: A really cute place with good food! I ordered the clam gnocchi on the recommendation of the waiter, it was fantastic though a small portion. My husband got the Italian sausage and black truffle tagliatelle, it was slightly less flavorful but he liked it. The cocktails were great and the service was too! Plan to return soon!

Shamsher: This place has been on my list for a very very long time. I have been a hype man for Lupo Pizzeria. A place for some of the most delicious Neapolitan pizza in DC. It was about time that I tried Lupo Verde. I must start by saying this. MAN!!! Everything was really really out of this world delicious. Bruschetta for appetizer, served in the most unique way possible. Very refreshing and delicious. Ordered 2 different entrées. First was the Butternut Squash Ravioli and it was amazing. So much flavor and the feeling of freshly made ravioli was strong even though that might not be the case. Secondly the short rig entrée was cooked to perfection. Melting off the bone, over a bed of the creamiest mash potatoes. What a wonderful experience. 10/10 for the service. It was perfect. 10/10 for the food for me. Rookie score I know but some places deserve all the love. This is on of them.

Cynthia M: Really great food!! Loved the pastas and the Avocado Bruschettone too! The pastas’ texture and flavor were all on point. Would definitely go back when I’m in the mood for Italian!

DuPont Italian Kitchen: what do users think?

David Miller: I’m visiting DC for a long weekend and thought I’d try this place out for an early dinner before the crowds invaded. The pomegranate margarita happy hour special was small but powerful. I think the second was even more potent than the first. Then I had my go-to for Italian restaurants- the chicken Parmesan. It was very good, with a chunky marinara sauce on the linguini. I do wish that came with a spoon so I didn’t have sauce splashing everywhere. As I ate, I noticed regulars making their way in, as the staff was clearly familiar with them. I’ll definitely go back the next time I’m in town.

Fernanda Lanzagorta: Its a good spot for classic Italian from pizzas to pastas. The staff is always friendly.

lv vl: Good kitchen, tastes good. The utensils would be good if changed because they look very old and used! Otherwise service ok good for the price!

Constance Brown: I had the seafood pasta, Mozzarella cheese sticks, garlic bread and red sangria. The food tastes amazing, authentic and flavored. The customer service was impeccable. We sat out on the patio and the sever provided us with bug spray and citronella candle to fight off of the bugs. I would give this restaurant 10 stars. Must try 😋

Papa Stauth: Ricotta Cheese Ravioli in Alfredo sauce, Eggplant Parmigiana, Baked Lasagna with house made Cheese Sticks ALL very good

Abrar Thabit: Very delicious Italian food. We ordered a customized pizza and chicken fettuccine Alfredo. The service was good, as well. Spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas. We were four and the food was more than enough. The check came for $55.5 only!

Lori Gardiner: We were visiting DC and stayed at a nearby hotel. We discovered this gem by accident and had a very tasty meal here. The chicken parmigiana was very good and the bread with olive oil was delicious. Service was very good too. We were very pleased.

The Red Hen: what do users think?

Vikram Seshadri: Amazing service, great ambiance and delicious food. The portions are small/personal for the price but delicious nonetheless. Had a few amazing vegetarian options and the waiter was kind enough to explain everything to us.

Rose A: All natural wines by the glass paired with amazing food and a large, airy bar in a rustic setting. Very friendly bartenders too. The whipped ricotta crostini was one of the best things I’ve ever had, and yes you can order Cacio e Pepe off the menu and it’s delicious. A lovely gem!

Kit Lai Pine: After trying for 6 years and failed to get a reservation at the time we wanted when we visited our college kids in DC, we finally got to dine at Red Hen on Saturday night. Every thing we ordered the chicken liver mousse, bruschetta, sausage pasta, squid ink spaghetti, pork chop and dessert were delicious. The pork chop was moist and scrumptious. The two pastas were so flavorful. Probably the best Italian restaurant in DC. Service was great. Can’t wait to dine at Red Hen again.

Ying Liang: I was today years old when I learned that antipasta means first course/small plates, and not “not-pasta” lol. We stopped by with dinner reservations on a Sunday night. The restaurant is a bit dark but the ambiance is great. Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic! Really felt like an elevated dining experience. Grilled Spanish octopus was so tender and flavorful. Risotto balls were crispy and bold. Squid ink linguini was the best pasta I’ve had in the states. Definitely check this place out if you get the chance to treat yourself!

Eugenia Kim: Omg! This place did not disappoint. This Italian restaurant had amazing ambiance when walking in and a perfect date night spot and small gathering. Reservations are highly recommended. And if dining in you will be charged an extra 20% gratuity to help fund the restaurant for covid recovery. Which we didn’t care! The service was fast and our waiter was so friendly and gave us great recommendations.

Chelsea Morante: !!!TOURIST REVIEW!!! My mom and i visited this restaurant Labor Day weekend on my first trip to DC. We stayed at a near by air Bnb that recommended the place and honestly I’d one of the BEST restaurants yet. The food was absolutely amazing so much flavor very true to the authentic Italian restaurant feel. Love the open kitchen experience. We sat at the bar where our bartender Ely was the most amazing person ever. She helped me convince my mom to try things she wouldn’t normally eat while also recommending some Divine red wines. She was so great throughout the whole experience it made it that much more enjoyable. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. #OutofTownerCritic

Ariel Koch: Stopped in for after dinner drinks and desert, the bar staff was amazing!Aperol spritz, Tiramisu, Espresso martini & Ginger Pearl

Abby: The food here is TOO good. Probably the best Italian place in DC. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. The pasta dishes were excellent and I appreciate the reasonable prices.

Siroc Restaurant: what do users think?

Anne Klockenkemper: Wonderful service and delicious food! My boyfriend was thrilled with their gluten-free pasta and the fact there was also a gluten-free dessert option for him. Everything we ordered was fresh and prepared excellently. While it was busy, staff were attentive but not pushy, and we felt in no way rushed. It was our first visit but we will definitely be back!

Tara Tripoli Quintana: My husband and I LOVE going to local restaurants when we travel. This place sounded like a great fit - we love Italian! We absolutely LOVED this place! Great location, friendly helpful staff, clean and inviting atmosphere, great menu, and authentic homemade delicious food! We would DEFINITELY eat here again! Highly recommend!

Hossein: Very delicious starter and entree. Great service even though they were very busy. I did not like my desert. They offered another one for free which was nice of them, but the other dessert was not good either. Another thing, a restaurant fancy like this and crowded, did not have any background music playing which seemed strange to me. Overall, very good place to have dinner with your loved ones.

Pam Matthews: This is a hidden gem. The food was fantastic — I ate WAY more than I normally would have — and so was the service and the wine. I was in a party of six and everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. One of the party was vegan, and they bent over backwards to make sure she was accommodated. I am not easily impressed, but this is an impressive place! It was fairly random that we ended up here, and I can’t be happier about chance.

JL C: Good food, short menu meaning freshly prepared. Efficient and friendly service what more to ask?

Mary Elliott: Our dinner was so good. The smoked salmon appetizer was delicious and our server thoughtfully decided it so we each had a plate. We ordered old fashioned to start. They were not great. Certainly a restaurant where wine is the way to go, but at a place with a full bar these drinks were sophomoric. My husband had a special beef tenderloin that was perfectly cooked and super tender. The sauce with it complemented the beef perfectly. The potatoes were not appealing, thin and squeezed out of a pastry bag to look like toothpaste, but everything else was so good and there were so few mashed potatoes, it made no difference. I had the carbonara which was delicious, really delightful sauce. Our server got a bit busier so I had to ask the expediter for a glass of wine with dinner and it was lovely. We had two desserts? The almond cake and the tiramisu. The almond cake was so good, moist and warm, the tiramisu was unremarkable. Overall a great dinner. We would come back!

Johana Davidson: Incredible Food and Service ! My family and I are from Las Vegas and I thought I had some amazing food experiences there. Well Siroc really went above and beyond our expectations !!! All 9 of us had different dishes and every single dish was cooked to perfection ! I would highly recommend this place . The food, service and location in Washington DC is perfection. It made our experience in DC that much more memorable. I’ll be recommending this place to everyone. I’ll certainly be back myself !

Yenny A: Delicious pasta, savory cocktails, & fast service in a cozy atmosphere. The owner himself, Aldo was very welcoming and told us how this hidden gem is family owned. All of the pasta is made from scratch in-house so you can imagine the texture and quality is 10/10. Will definitely be back to enjoy the patio once it gets warmer!

Rebecca F: This place is amazing. Food is delicious and made from scratch. All the staff is professional and truly are attentive to every customer. Waiter new the menu and recommended a delicious meal for me and my friends. This is a amazing Italian food from the homemade bread, to the pasta and dessert. I will definitely be back.

DIANA CARRASCO: Delicious and amazing food with above and beyond service!!! We gathered a group of professionals for a small holiday networking event at the the new upstairs bar. Starting by the cozy atmosphere that is very inviting, you can’t go wrong with the handcrafted cocktails like the smoked old fashion which is now my favorite! Everyone was delighted with the homemade yet sophisticated food. I tried an amazing spinach salad, and we shared the mussels, prosciutto and burrata board and the crispy artichokes, besides looking great in the presentation, everything was very tasty and delicious! I can’t wait to go back! A very nice addition to Columbia Heights!

Jairo Castro-Rivera: Was craving Italian for date night with my girlfriend, struck gold with this place! After searching online for like 20 minutes finally found a decently priced Italian restaurant. First of all the aesthetics were amazing, casual but elegant. Second the pastas had a wonderful homemade taste, very flavorful and delicious. Lastly, the bomboloni dessert was the best dessert I’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of their menu! Follow us @dcjunglebook for more content

Mary Z: Small intimate restaurant, loves the vibe and overall experience. We ordered the rice balls and the fried artichoke for appetizer, they were okay, could have just had the table bread which was amazing. I ordered the pasta with vodka sauce and grilled chicken. It was amazing!!!! Nice portion size, good chicken, sauce and pasta ratio. Very flavorful and sauce was not acidic. The special of the day was lamb shank. It came in a bed of whipped potatoes and gravy. It was also melt in your mouth delicious. I forgot the name of the drink we had but had three of their cocktails all were amazing. Definitely would recommend, just personally would skip on the appetizer because I don’t eat pork or seafood so options were limited.

Leo: We really enjoyed our meal dining outside on the patio. The pasta tasted really good and freshly prepared. The bottle of wine we ordered was fantastic, and of course the service was exceptional. We really enjoyed meeting and talking to the owner, Aldo! Great place, highly recommend.

MARY PAULINO MELVIN: Brian was amazing. One of the best meals and best drinks I have ever had. A must in the DC area. So much fun to sit at the bar and try new drinks too! The meatballs were so tasty! A must have with the infused vodka Brian made use

Henri Brown: We had a wonderful dinner here! The staff was courteous and quick, the food was DELICIOUS, all homemade pasta and sauces, and the vibes are immaculate - authentic Italian through and through. Great music, really cool space - 10/10 recommend. Try them out!

Giovanni's Trattu: what do users think?

Sharyn Malnati: Delicious fresh pasta dishes, reminded me of our trip to Venice. The tiramasu cannot be missed! Perfect meal!

HK: A small cozy place with great ambiance for either a quick bite or dinner date. Taking one star out because the tomato seafood pasta was sub par compared to other places. Most of the seafood was mussels and small calamaris, no shrimp or scallops… you would expect a greater variety of seafood when you order seafood pasta. Other menus we ordered were good.

Rosie HK: This was such a cute intimate spot for dinner with friends. They are known for their wine and only but only had one choice of beer (but Peroni is always solid). I got the Bolognese which was super flavorful and packed with spices. I definitely want to go back and try another dish as well as dessert!

Steve Tong: Great food, great service. Truly a hidden gem.

in edex: Great food, wine and service. I had calamari and veal tortellini accompanied with Cabernet Sauvignon - everything was delicious. The service was great, on time, without unwanted interruptions and really delicate.

Gina Hicks: Great service, the pan seared chicken and calamari was wonderful! Thank you for hosting our large group!

Maggiano's Little Italy: what do users think?

Keysmash: Delicious food, and the staff are smart! Staff here can remember large orders with many alterations, and the food still comes out fast. I wish they had more non-alcoholic drink options, though. Also, the vibes in here are great! Lovely decor, low lighting is good for a date. Try the 5$ take-home dinners! You can get your parking ticket validated here, there is a direct elevator entrance from the parking garage. Highly recommended!

Markita Murray: The food here is DELICIOUS!!!! We enjoyed our first time here our waitress was a doll. She was very friendly and informative because it was our first time. We will be back

Joshua WT: Ricardo the Server is one of reasons you should visit Maggiano’s aside from the most amazing entrées. His customer service is exceptional, Impressive, and most importantly genuine! As the district Manager of T-Mobile our sales Team can learn a lot from him….

T. D.: Though they didn’t have neither soup nor calamari (oh, my☹️), we were very pleased with the service and food (amount and quality) and went there twice. Food made deliciously and we enjoyed every bite of it! Thank you for amazing food and service

Edward Harris: My go to for a Great Time!! If you ever want great service, great food and good drinks... this is your go to. Management is totally engaged with customers. Food is always good and fresh. Always a great environment. Never too loud and even when its busy, you always feel attended to. Cash is one the best bartenders there. Highly recommended👍🏽

Symea Johnson: Busy holiday weekend but was able to make a last minute reservation for dinner. Greeted by a very friendly host and our server was awesome! The menu has changed due to COVID but our server was able to get the kitchen to recreate the Tuscan shrimp &chicken (my favorite) it was soo good; they still have the take home pasta entree for $5! Ice cold water, fresh hot bread and main dish was all great and all for good price

B.J. K.: Went to Maggianos to meet Santa Claus. What a fabulous experience!! Food was excellent (definitely for an adult palate) santa was spectacular but most of all, the restaurant was beautifully decorated. Definitely had that Christmas glowing spirit inside this beautifully holiday themed restaurant, nice picture spots inside the restaurant (Christmas tree, fireplace) and I can’t wait to go back. Gave me the warm fuzzy feeling. Five stars ⭐️

Surbhi Kanotra: Cash is a great bartender and the Happy Hour has great drinks and 2 flatbread options.

Ristorante La Perla of Washington: what do users think?

Alyana McCarthy: I got the minestrone for my appetizer- very flavorful and filling. I also got the chicken parmigiana which was bigger than what I’m used to. It comes with a side of spaghetti. I’m not sure what the dessert was called but it was a chocolate shell filled with gelato and it was absolutely divine. Their selection of wines were nice as well. The chef came out from time to time to ensure guests were enjoying their food and I loved that. We were seated as soon as we got In and they had a full house. Our server was so kind and courteous. Wait time was not bad for food that came out fresh and hot. Would definitely go back.

S.A Qurashi: We had a family dinner this weekend and all 13 people love food! Service was also great! Next time we will have to save room for dessert!! It looked amazing!!

Entertainment honi chaiye: Absolutely amazing! The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. If you are looking for a great place to get Italian food this is it.

Charles-Stephen Laubhouet: I went a while ago with my wife, on a late night escapade! We truly enjoyed it! The food was very good and the wine too! Turned out rich people eat there, the bill was high but the quality matched the price. I would recommend to any Italian food lover! The chef is the best

I’ll be telling my DC friends to visit and will come back the next time I’m in town!
