Carmine's Italian Restaurant - Washington D.C.: what do users think?

feranda smith: The portion size of this place is HUGE! Good thing is they serve lunch sizes all day for certain items. Lasagna wasn’t one of those so this was definitely dinner and lunch for the next day. Food wasn’t bad, however, you could taste that everything basically comes from a can. Taste a lot like chef boyardee. Drinks were a bit too sweet but not terrible. The highlight was their garlic bread! Now that was amazing!!!! I could just sit, eat that, and be extremely satisfied

Albert Jonathan: Looking for an Italian food in the downtown area, and found this decent Italian restaurant. Overall, we had a great dining experience. The server was very friendly and professional, she started by explaining a few things about the restaurant and told us that the food is supposed to be shared by 2-3 people per portion. Foods taste great and the price is reasonable.

Mark Michael Blue: Great food, however for less than 3 or 4 people not well suited. The only regular tables are available for a menu that only serves family-sizes. So if you go there alone as I did, you either have tons of leftovers or ruin every diet you’re on - also, whatever you order apart from drinks comes multiplied by 4 basically and costs accordingly. So ordering a simple garlic bread sets you back 15 USD and you get like 9 pieces. No issue if you sit at the bar to get human-sized portions, however it tainted the experience a little. Nonetheless, the food was gorgeous and the staff great!

Shad Kearns: Excellent Italian restaurant! We had a great dining experience. The server was very friendly and professional, she started by explaining a few things about the restaurant and told us that the food is supposed to be shared by 2-3 people per portion. Foods taste great and the price is reasonable.

Luke Meyers: Restaurant had a good feel to it. Located in heart of DC. Food was very good and the size of portions family style. Family of 4 and we just did sides, glad we did, plenty for the empty stomachs after walking the Mall and plenty to bring back to the hotel. Place was packed and full of people. Meatballs and eggplant made the family happy. For post dining though not on the menu, a few glasses of limoncello, only the Italian might ask. Food was priced for area.

Mike Olson: First time dining and didn’t realize it’s family style but luckily I’m old enough to sit at the bar where smaller portions are offered. Ordered the Rigatoni with Broccoli and Sausage with a Red Sauce. It was a busy Saturday night and the food took longer to arrive than I’d have liked but once it did I was instantly impressed and very satisfied with the meal. Also worth mentioning that the service at the bar was exceptional and truly professional.

Kim Nguyen: Carmine’s offers family style dishes. By family style, I mean big portions. We ordered a shrimp scampi with linguine for 2 of us. We couldn’t finish half of the portion. It was huge as you can see in the photo (the knife for size preference). Carmine’s is perfect for a family of 4 or more because you can get the most for the value. Reservation is recommended.

Karoline Melo: The place is nice for a family gathering. The dishes are HUGE, really HUGE, it easily serves 5 people. Just a tip: they serve half portion of the cannoli, but you have to ask because it’s not written in the menu. The food is tasty, the chicken parmigiana is one of the best I had. The cannoli was good too!

Kali “KK” Harris: Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! We went for a bday dinner and there was not one dissatisfied person at the table. Before I rave on the food, I must pause and give a huge shot out to our waiter, Morgan. This was customer service at its finest beginning with the hostess staff upon entrance. His service deserves a 22 percent tip so if you get him don't take him for granted, especially now and days were excellent service is hit or miss. Now as far as the food goes, you can look at the pics all day long, yet your eyes will still light up the moment they place those huge portions on your table. (Shot out to those guys as well carrying two arm length plates at a time 😉.) Drinks were delicious and not skimpy at all. No watered down drinks here. Aside from the big portions, everything tasted to perfection! I really could go on and on but I will end by suggesting you try it on your own. Special occasions should definitely be celebrated here 💯.

Joyce Griffin: So much food. Serve many portions. The courses were a great variety, salads, muscles, shrimp, fish, pasta, lasagne, fresh fruit, dessert, beverage. All you could eat. Went as a group to celebrate graduation. Servers were awesome, attentive and made sure we had extra portions if we wanted. Would highly recommend even though price per person was $70. It was worth it.

Sandeep Wilkhu: Excellent experienceWe sat in the bar because we did not have reservations. But our waitress Addison was so very excellent she made it an excellent experience. I would go back to the bar seating.

Charli Knows How To Eat: A very good friend of mine treated me to this very fancy dining experience. It was so amazing. I would recommend this restaurant for special events or celebrations. It is quite expensive however the service is great and the food is even better. I convinced my date that I’d like my own steak however I did not know they give you such large portions which is a first to see in a upscale restaurant like this. Nonetheless it was so tender and evenly cooked I ate every single piece !

raymond burgos: The service and hospitality are on par with the best in the world with amiable and capable staff. The presentation and food are excellent. The decor is well-suited to a high-end establishment and will make you break into a smile as soon as you walk in. The portions are good, not more significant portions - this is a tasting restaurant. Quality over quantity!

Kyana Shelton: Ambiance was stunning. Very classy and modern I love the simplicity of the place. Valet is cash only! Bread for the table was delicious. I ordered the shrimp scampi and my boyfriend ordered the chicken parmesan both a 10/10. My shrimp scampi was a small portion but besides that I had no complaints and actually left feeling pretty full. Can't remember the name of the wine I had but I believe our waiter said it had a hint of oyster. Overall, amazing experience with a sophisticated look I will be back!

Des KF: My boyfriend and I had reservations for this restaurant for my birthday. When we arrived we walked in and was greeted by the hostess and she sat us. The tables were super close to one another which was the only downfall. Tim was our waiter and he was so nice and attentive. We started with drinks and I got the Spritz and Giggles, it was weak but it was tasty. For my entrée I got the king crab with squid ink pasta and that was good. My boyfriend got the shrimp scampi pasta and he really enjoyed it. Tim gave us a cheesecake because we waited for a while to get drinks and that was so nice and it was so tasty. I also slid in that it was my birthday and he gave me a small, cute dessert to sing happy birthday. I really enjoyed my time, the ambiance was great and so was the food and service.

Lin Dinh: dim, upbeat ambiance with upscale cocktails— perfect spot for a bourgeois night out. plates were tapas size but the perfect portions. the mushroom pizza was by far the best pizza I’ve ever had. the short ribs were also superb. love it here!

MADDART: It was my first time dining here. I ordered a New York strip which was about 16 ounces.(a lot bigger than I expected from an upscale restaurant. It was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. The server was a bit forgetful about a couple requests I had made for pepper and silverware. I had to ask several times. Other than that the setting was great and I enjoyed my time there.

H. Ibdah: Amazing service. Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. We went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The waiter was theatrically impressive. The food was outstanding. We tried many dishes, I only took a photo of the main courses. I highly recommend the octopus for a starter. For the main we had the lobster pasta, meatballs, steak and side dishes. Great for romantic dinners and for outing with friends.

john Dickerson: Reservation required, proof of covid vaccination with ID valet available $20. Service was outstanding John was our waiter, and he did a great job everything was swift and on time. The food was delicious, for appetizers we Truffled Garlic Bread Parmigiano-reggiano, 1/2 dozen half Shell oyster, truffle and parmesan cheese pizza, Big Eye Tuna Bruschetta Basil Aioli garlic toast, the main was Lobster Fra DiavolobCalabrian chili & tomato and Short Rib Bolognese Pappardelle, Rosemary. For dessert we had Tiramisu Whipped mascarpone & coffee.

Imani: The decor was nice. We liked our dishes but were not a fan of how soft the meatballs were. The plates were also small. We started off with a spritz for our drinks but sent it back because it was very sweet. We ordered a Paloma instead which was very delicious. The reasons for the star decrease was the hostess. We asked if we could move our table and she tried to explain the seating arrangements but made a condescending remark by saying “does that make sense” with a slight attitude which was very noticeable by the both of us.

Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant: what do users think?

Jasdeep Grewal: We came as a party of six on a Saturday night and seated promptly. The food came out reasonably timed and fresh. Everything piping hot with the except of the chicken Marsala. Overall, the food tasted fantastic and the portion sizes are very generous. The “Apple Gorgonzola” salad is a must-try! The decor is quaint and there’s so much to discover with all the vintage pictures on the walls. I would definitely come back.
Response: Thank you, Jasdeep, for the rave review! We strive to provide delicious food and world-class service, so we're happy to see that reflected on your visit! We appreciate you sharing such wonderful feedback about your entire dining experience! Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review and for giving your visit a 5-star rating. We look forward to seeing and serving you again soon!

Lori Arnold: Took a group of 42 students and 5 chaperones for dinner. For the large groups that were in there, staff was accommodating. Family style meal. Spaghetti and delicious. Plenty of salads. Could have used butter for the bread and more bread. Also drink refills.
Response: Lori, thank you for the great review! We strive to provide delicious food and world-class service, so we're happy to see that reflected on your visit! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

J B: The meatballs were a hit!!! Four of us shared them and we're glad we did. I would have liked the chocolate cake to be a bit more moist but overall really good. The cannoli dessert was disappointing because the only filling was at the end. Each side had a small squeeze of cream otherwise hollow. We though would eat there again.
Response: JB, thank you for choosing to dine with us. We appreciate you sharing your feedback. We pride ourselves on offering delicious food with excellent service. We've shared your review and feedback with our team. We’d sincerely appreciate the opportunity to see and serve you again and exceed your expectations. We hope to see you again soon!

Nic ellison: This place was great. The food was delicious. Sean was our waiter and he was very attentive and we enjoyed hearing about his life. We are visiting from Houston and found this on Google maps. Great place and history on the walls is awesome.
Response: Thank you, Nic! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed dining with us and appreciate you sharing such wonderful feedback about Sean! We look forward to seeing and serving you again soon!

nut ball sheding: the atmosphere is great…the whole place is decorated beautifully. wish i could say the same about the food. it’s so mid. the salad was good but the rest was like…meh. the fettuccine just tasted like undercooked butter noodles. the cheesecake was good ish. all in all not really worth it.
Response: Hi, thank you for choosing Buca di Beppo. We are sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience. We will be sure to share your feedback with our team to improve future guest experiences.

Sky Link: Unfortunately, our delivery order was made wrong, and not well. There was cheese on a dish that shouldn’t have cheese and barely any sauce. We called the restaurant after receiving the food and spoke to two different people, the last being a manager. The manager informed us that they would give us a call back about what they could do. We still have not received a call, and that is very unprofessional to make promises you do not keep. I understand that mistakes can happen in a kitchen but don’t lie to somebody about fixing the mistake just to get out of it.
Response: Hi, we are sorry to hear about your experience. Please contact us at bucadibeppo.com/contact to provide your contact information and details of your experience. Upon receipt of your contact information, a member of our team will contact you directly.

Henry Farkas: The Buca di Beppo Italian restaurant is one of a chain. It's quite good. On arrival, you see an interior design with total wall coverage with period photos and other period pieces from the early and mid 20th century. This chain's menu is designed for family style dining. A large order of an entrée feeds five people, and a small order feeds three. Individuals can order for themselves at a lower price. We had a group of four. We ordered garlic bread to start. It was better than the garlic bread of any previous Italian restaurant in my memory. Three of us had a small order of the shrimp scampi. The amount was quite generous for three people. It was very good. I had an individual order of my standard Italian dish, eggplant parmesan. It was outstanding, and the size of the order was large for one person. Our server was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The price of our meal was quite reasonable for four people. Parking at this location is not free so remember to ask your server for parking validation.
Response: Thank you, Henry, for the rave review! We strive to provide delicious food and world-class service, so we're happy to see that reflected on your visit! We appreciate you sharing such wonderful feedback about your entire dining experience! Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review and for giving your visit a 5-star rating. Benjamin “Grizzyboi” Barnt: The food was fantastic and the way they handed the food out was super unique and cool. As I'm on a school trip I highly recommend this place for anything. School trip? Here. Date? For sure. Like they got you set. The only thing is that when you ask for coke the people give you more water😂
Response: Stacey, thank you for choosing to dine with us. We appreciate you sharing your feedback. We pride ourselves on offering delicious food with excellent service. We've shared your review and feedback with our team. We’d sincerely appreciate the opportunity to see and serve you again and exceed your expectations. We hope to see you again soon!

Sharon Youngdahl: Went to a family birthday party. Food was great. Such a fun place!!
Response: Thank you, Sharon! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed dining with us! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Renay Cole: I could not believe the taste of this food. I have wanted some spaghetti and thought why not go to an Italian place. This food was as bland as bland could be. I looked through the sauce to see no seasoning at all, no herbs I just felt like I was eating beef with tomatoes on top of it and the brought it to the table lukewarm. They also gave us bread with olive oil that tasted rancid. I truly was disappointed, I would not recommend this restaurant to my dog if I had one. This opinion and review was wrote by me and the person that was present with me at the restaurant. Because this was my recommendation I felt it was right that I pay the full cost.
Response: Thank you, Renay, for choosing Buca di Beppo. We are sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience. We will be sure to share your feedback with our team to improve future guest experiences.

Filomena Ristorante: what do users think?

Patrick Young: I loved their Easter decorations! They really went all out and the decorations are more classic too and remind me of better times! Their bread appetizer with olive oil is very tasty and the wait service was impeccable. The waiter misheard my original order, but they quickly corrected it and got me my correct dish. Both of our dishes were delicious and had plenty of sauce. The dessert was scrumptious too! All of these were a reasonable price as well. If you are going out for a date, I highly recommend this place! It’s so far my favorite Italian restaurant in DC!

DC Explorer: Got delivery from this place after hearing good things and it didn't disappoint. The salad and foccocia are a meal themselves. The entrees are big enough to feed two people (entree pictured is half eaten). Pretty yummy Italian food, great quality, nice sauce. My favorite Italian place in DC is still the now defunct Dino's, but this place does a fine job.

A Smith: We've been here twice this month and loved it. The first time we didn't make reservations but they let us eat at the bar which was quite nice and the bartenders were awesome. Today is my birthday so we made reservations. It was quite busy but the service was still amazing. I'm quite picky as a New Yorker and someone who lived in Italy but I give this place 5 stars for the food, atmosphere, and service. A must see!

Jessica Lopez: The restaurant goes all out with seasonal decorations, this time around Easter time. It was a bit strange seeing so many bunnies but at the same time the over decorating is what many Italian grandmas do! Service was decent, not the best. Portions are huge so definitely recommend sharing especially because of the prices. The bread service with the olive oil and spices was delicious, raviolis were great and the eclair was so delicious and creamy, it tasted like profiteroles actually. Definitely recommend coming back.

Princess Good: I will eat at this restaurant every time I'm able to get to the area. I live out of state. The service was perfect, food was hot and delicious, and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. The bread is amazing!! One of my friends had chicken parmesan with a side of pasta, the other had a salad. I had rigatoni with chicken. We all enjoyed our food! Oh and the meatball appetizer is worth every bit of $16 although it only comes with two meatballs.

Laura Ruiz: My husband and me went to Georgetown to celebrate my birthday. We couldn’t make a reservation for dinner, however, we walked in around 3:30 and after a 5 minutes wait we had a table. The experience in this place was unforgettable. It started with three different kinds of homemade bread, follow for fresh appetizers, flavorful entrees, homemade amaretto and finally the best cannoli that we ever had.

Anthony Stewart: Spacious, friendly and really amazing fare. The host was magnanimous and his larger-than-life personality makes one feel welcome and as though the food will be authentically Italian, and the staff do not disappoint. The bread and pesto were brilliant, as were the stuffed mushroom starters. The main courses tasted amazing and arrived at our table in good time, allowing us the opportunity to experience how the meal tasted at all stages of temperature. Really great experience and one that makes one want to return again and again (and I’ll be happy to oblige). Unfortunately, a cupcake bakery not too far away got the better of our appetites before we dined at Filomena, so dessert was not on our menu for the afternoon’s meal, but next time! 5/5 well-deserved stars!

Larry Smith: First time visit. Filomena from the front looked small, but the doors opened to a wonderful dinning experience. The food was fantastic and large portions. I'm an eater and had trouble finding room to put the last bite. I finished it off with the biggest piece of strawberry cheesecake I've ever had in a commercial setting. Great overall experience. I will return.

Gerri Goh: We sat down to very American Italian meal of fried calamari, bruschetta (not pictured), burrata caprese, octopus salad, shrimp in lemon garlic butter sauce, slow-braised beef brisket stuffed ravioli, cremini mushrooms and pine nuts in an unctuous sauce of browned butter and veal stock with cream, cheese ravioli with meatballs, and rigatoni pasta in vodka sauce with grilled chicken. We finished all the appetisers but had to do a takeaway for the pastas. It was a tasty and well-executed meal. It was also very rich, heavy and unfortunately left us with no room for the tempting desserts on display. Filomena was an overall good dining experience - dining where A-list celebrities have dined, the service is top-notch, the food is good and the restaurant gives you Godfather feels; it is however for me a once for the adventure and maybe never again sort of restaurant (unless it's someone's choice for a meal in future) .

Inma Guerrero: We loved this crazy place. Uber decorated with Christmas things and on the expensive side. The pasta plates are huge, I guess you are supposed to share them and the chocolate cake super decadent. Great service too!

Sfoglina Van Ness: what do users think?

Carrie Crowther: I have always heard great things about Sfoglina, and I was not disappointed on my visit. We went around 3:30/4pm so it wasn’t too busy at the restaurant as yet. The customer service was excellent, warm and welcoming. We had the pomegranate 75 for the cocktail and it was just the right amount of tart and sweetness. We also had the garlic bread, the squid ink lobster linguine and the pappardelle pasta with ragu. They were all flavorful and well prepared. The pasta was the right texture and the sauce perfectly coated it. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and heightened the experience. I will definitely return to try other dishes! Highly recommend.

Karis Lange: Welcoming, comfortable yet high-end atmosphere. Our server was informative, attentive, and friendly. From the warm rosemary bread, to the pasta, asparagus, and desserts - all were phenomenal. Portion sizes were perfect - not too big. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Just Ruth: It was absolutely wonderful!!! The first C-19 is "kinda" over.. restaurant visit, ; without a limited menu or unhappy, snappy staff. In fact, the Manger made the rounds, checking on us..while praising and complimenting his staff. Everyone working there was smiling and happy to help. The service was only rivaled by the delicious full menu. The pasta was homemade, as was the Ricotta Cheese. Blanched Asparagus? pow!! PoW!! :) Here's a look a the decor. Talk later, my beautiful multicultural peoples ❤

Kristin Crofts: Sfoglina has been my go-to birthday dinner spot for the past several years. Last year was a to-go order because of the pandemic, so this was my first time back inside the restaurant in about two years. They did not disappoint. They pulled out all of the stops with a very thoughtful glass of champagne to toast and a delicious apple vanilla gelato. The waitress and service was fantastic. Every bite of food was incredible - better than ever. The fall squash seasonal special was my favorite. They topped it off with a lovely handwritten note from Fabio - kind of cheesy but I love it. Thanks so much to Sfoglina Van Ness for the perfect evening.
Response: We're delighted to read this and thank you so much for your support. It's a pleasure to be part of your special tradition!

Michele Lam-Fortes: We celebrated our family matriarch's birthday in the restaurant's covered outdoor/indoor patio. The staff were absolutely amazing, super attentive, and went above and beyond. We had Jennifer and Tim and quite a few other servers who helped support our table of 20 or so people. The food was very well prepared and the drinks were delicious. We tried the calamari, the 72 hour short rib and the branzino. The tiramisu was wetter than normal on the bottom and the espresso "spilled" off my spoon as I was eating it - due to the large quantity of espresso it was quite bitter on the bottom. It wasn't my favorite but it was still tasty overall. The customer service was really the best and made our evening super special and that much more enjoyable. I heard they have a wonderful brunch and can't wait to come back to try it!

원오직나만: Excellent pasta selection. Flavors, textures are all perfect. The portion size is not too big.

Jacob Sharpe: Great pasta, very cute interior, nice outdoor space, solid wine list. Very good option for "nice dinner but not $200 for 2." Recommended.

Jayaraman Family: Very well managed during the COVID crisis time. The food was really good and the restaurant took adequate measures to keep everyone safe. It's pricey but quality and quantity were all good. I will visit this place again once the COVID crisis passes. Update - May 25, 2022. Had a fantastic dinner with family tonight. We ate more than we should have but enjoyed ever bite. Our waiter was very helpful.

Juan Sabater: I rarely review restaurants on Google but just had to share my wonderful experience at Sfoglina in Van Ness. From the atmosphere to the staff to the food, Sfoglina has it all. My party of 5 all adored our entrees, it really does seem that they do not have a bad item on the menu! The dessert is out of this world (TRY THE CHOCOLATE CAKE!!). The Restaurant Manager Eddie Huasasquiche and our Server went above and beyond any moment they could, they truly made it a wonderful dining experience. We especially enjoyed our servers willingness to offer recommendations of both food and drinks, they were all great choices. I look forward to returning back frequently and bringing other family and friends to enjoy this wonderful spot.

j17schis: Our food was great. Ever better was Jack, the host, who addressed my parents concerns about the airflow in their outdoor seating section. From the street, it seemed like the “outside” seating was closed in, but he explained that the sides were open and there was plenty of airflow.

Ristorante TOSCA: what do users think?

Kiffa Shirley: An amazing foodie experience. The personal experience from ALL the staff from the moment we walked in made for the start of an truly special anniversary dinning experience. Well worth the $$$. Jackets are not required for gentlemen, but I was also one of the very few without. The food was delicious and the photos don’t do them Justice. The neighboring tables were engaging and open for menu suggestions back and forth. And I think we saw a notable or too if your into the DC scene.

Andras Heczey: This is an outstanding restaurant within the heart of Washington DC. The venue was renovated during the pandemic, has a brand new interior with nice noise dampening ceiling panels which certainly keep the ambiance. Service is exceptional with knowledgeable waiting staff. The food is Italian inspired modern dishes including refined selection of pastas, octopus with apple puree, perfectly prepared beef tenderloin, squid ink infused risotto with grilled calamari etc. Their wine list is dominated by an Italian selection complimented with Californian wines. From their deserts, the panna cotta is exceptional. Not cheap, but for this experience, it is worth it.

Naile Ruiz: 10/10 Service is solid, the waiters are very attentive and want to make sure you're always content. The dry-aged ribeye was delicious, the sauce was full of flavor. I wish it would have had more of the potato puree to add to the steak, but overall really enjoyed my dish. Inside decor is very pretty. Great location!

Stefan Tobler: A wonderful dining experience, excellent service and atmosphere. Food is delicious, you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. A memorable spot, highly recommended.

Gregory Leung: This was the best meal in recent memory. Risotto squid ink and grilled calamari was sublime. Roasted cauliflower amazing. Jay was fabulously knowledgeable about the wine and food selection. Truly an impressive and memorable evening.

Scott Matus: Needed a place to go for a pre-show meal and TOSCA did not disappoint. Everything from the food to the service and ambiance was excellent. The grilled Bronzino was especially delicious and perfectly cooked.

John Whyman: Took a chance on the short rib Agnolotti pasta dish and it was way better than expected. ☆☆☆☆☆ Tasty. Rich. Can't say enough good things about it. Tosca is the greatest restaurant in DC. ☆☆☆☆

Michelle Alcanter: Great service, great food, great portion! Overall very pleasant experience. The ribeye steak was fantastic, very tender with a great onion sauce. I also like the half pasta portion so that you have room to try other things!

Grace Vi: Ate here, at the bar, on our last evening in DC. It was a nice end to a great visit. Tosca is run like a tight ship. The food was exquisite; the wine selected by our waiter was excellent. The Garganelli was divine. Craving it as I'm writing about it now! Thank you to the staff for such attentive and friendly service. We felt pampered. We shall return!!

Agustina Fainguersch: Absolutely one of the best meals I have ever had. We ordered the prosciutto appetizer, the spaghetti, the agnolotti, and the tiramisu. Left absolutely satisfied with the food and service.

Caitlyn Morris: I couldn’t say enough nice things about this place if I tried. After some extensive research combining ambience, food, dessert, cost, business (I’m still very covid-conscious, and overall experience, I decided on this place for our 2-year dating anniversary dinner. We had a reservation for 7pm on a Wednesday night. There were about 10 other guests there and we were hid away in a corner away from all of them which made my night very comfortable. The host asked the occasion and were very pleased to hear we chose them as our place to celebrate. The waiter, Jonathan, was full of great suggestions—we decided on the garlic bread and spiced calamari to start, a couple of cocktails, my boyfriend chose the goat cheese ravioli and I chose the gnocchi and mushroom dish. Everything was delicious (the gnocchi practically melted in my mouth) and the portions weren’t too big. In my opinion, the dishes were well-priced for the quality without breaking the bank. We both had dessert—tiramisu and the hazelnut cake—and both were divine. The restaurant helped us celebrate too with two glasses of champagne, a vanilla sorbet, and a lovely card. Thank you so much, Jonathan and Steven (Manager), for your wonderful service and gorgeous location. Last night was a night we’ll remember for a long time!

Cheyenne Quindara: Service was great and food was delicious. The garlic bread was a decent size for two and my pasta dish was the perfect dinner serving. The server was kind enough to gift us soft serve ice cream to eat with our cake.

Jordan Richardson: Went for dinner and got the garlic bread to start and the lasagna as my main dish. This restaurant was amazing and very authentic. The staff was extremely friendly. Had a cake, which I forgot the name of, for dessert and it tasted like a ferrero rocher! Great restaurant overall and I can’t wait to come back.

Brett Syndergaard: The food was pretty good but really expensive. That's pretty common in this area. The staff was great, very helpful, and professional.I'd go again for business lunches.

Mackenzie Daniele: STAY AWAY!!! Went here last Friday and this restaurant was truly the worst food I’ve had in my life. I went here with a group of 9 and we ALL were disgusted by this food. The meals either had no flavor at all or were saltier than ever. After the experience anyone who was able to scarf down their food had immense stomach pains the rest of the night. Truly upset by this experience and the money I spent. Over $500 for an experience that not 1 person enjoyed. I don’t understand how this place stays in business and how it has such high reviews.

Manuj Bhandari: Great Italian food for a good price. The Squid ink pasta and short rib ravioli are great. The drinks are amazing.

Monique Chislom: Doug was AMAZING ask for him. Beautiful ambiance. Great staff. Delicious food. Wonderful time.

Raffi Wineburg: Best pasta I’ve had in DC! They bring out a pasta board with all the shapes they have which is really unique. Good vibe in there. Only thing is that the wine list is super expensive. Have a 30 or even 40 dollar bottle on there would ya? I think cheapest bottle was around 60.

Mike Chen: This was the place we spent Thanksgiving dinner with friends. We were a walk-in party of 7 about an hour before they closed. They were pretty busy as well. The host and wait staff were extremely accommodating and sat us in a private room. Food was great. The calamari appetizer was amazing and everyone cleaned their plates! Highly recommend!

David Catanese: I took up a seat at the bar and a bit jokingly asked if this was better than Red Hen, and the two male bartenders aggressively defended Sfoglina’s sovereignty like it was Kiev. It was funny, but seemed intense. So being a journalist I pried a bit on why the location had closed multiple times over the years (twice in my decade) and they argued it was all under an umbrella group. But the previous restaurant had obviously failed. Admittedly I was being a bit aggressive, having come off a few cocktails. What was wild is that the bartenders took my comments personally and one ended up yelling, “have you ever run a restaurant man?” Lol, no I’m the customer. But the men behind the bar were so insecure they couldn’t do their basic job of a restaurant to laugh things off and provide service. Instead they chose a fight, slammed a glass and were visibly angered by my sarcastic wit. And to be clear, I was pushing them on their restaurant. But their response was laughable and embarrassing. But also hilarious. We left after the wonderful salad app and walked in the pouring rain to an Italian restaurant of less quality. But the bartender was much more welcoming there and the boys at Sfoglina have now been sent to Mariupol, Ukraine. They haven’t been heard from since. It seemed like a place still trying to figure out its staffing. But one wore a mask the entire time so I’m sure he felt vulnerable. We entered up leaving after a drink given the weird intensity of their response.

Tortino Restaurant: what do users think?

Adam Galazka: Amazing.....Amazing....Amazing. This place is a gem. They were very accommodating to my family of five. Service was amazing and food was delicious. For appetizers we tried mushroom soup and grilled octopus. Perfect flavor and temperature. For dinner we tried a variety of pastas and a Salmon dish. Again delicious and food temperature was perfect. Did not have to wait very long for food to come to the table. By far one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to.

Ally T: Absolutely love this place! Truly a hidden gem in the DC area. I come here EVERY time I’m in the area and am never disappointed. The kindest staff, amazing food and reasonable prices! So delicious! A must try!

Paul LaVigne: A hidden gem that deserves to be experienced by everyone. This Italian restaurant may be small in size, however the food is amazing. Some local DC friends picked this restaurant to meet us out for dinner tonight, and we are so glad they did. We started out with the Beef Carpaccio, Buffalo mozzarella, arugula, pesto, and spicy micro-greens appetizer. It is a light weight appetizer that packs a punch of flavor. For the main course my wife had the Saffron Taglierini with scallops. She says it was as delicious as it sounds. I ordered the Lamb Shank - Ossobucco style with spinach mash potatoes. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the dish as a whole was fantastic as well as more than I could eat in one setting, so I will be enjoying the leftovers for another meal. To top everything off, we had their tiramisu for dessert. It was very good. Next time though I think we’ll try the cheesecake.

Min Z: The dinner plates were delicious and well prepared. All of my friends loved what we ordered. The desserts were disappointing. We had two desserts, Calssic Tiramisu and Semifreddo - both didn't meet our expectations. If we didn't order dessert we would give the restaurants 5-star rating.

Robert Charming: Host didn’t know where to seat us. Then seated us and then asked us to move. I ordered the crab, they served me lamb. They offered a lettuce leaf to make up for it. Really underwhelmed. The food needs seasoned, from the bread to the pasta. The best thing I had was the wine… which they bought. There was also broken glass on the floor that no one attended to the entire time we were there.

Kale N: Great Italian restaurant that's close to the convention center. The appetizers were really good. The risotto was amazing. And the gelato dessert at the end was a nice way to finish off the meal. The staff was really friendly and on point with the service. Overall fantastic experience.

Peter W.: Great Italian place! We got the lamb ravioli which was exceptionally good. The linguini and taglierini was both good in its own way. Scallop appetizer was well cooked but a bit too salty. Would recommend overall.

Lady Abbo: This is a truly authentic experience of Italian cuisine! A very relaxed and intimate environment. From pasta to dessert a joy for your taste buds!

Gregory Edwards: One of the top restaurants I've hit this year . The staff were exceptional. You don't want the crab ravioli to end . Fresh Tiramisu is a must

Leopoldo Avellan: Grilled octopus very good, risotto with lobster and shrimp sublime. The Tiramisu was awesome. The canoli were average. Alex, our server was superb

Alta Strada - Washington, DC: what do users think?

Zoe B: Came for my birthday dinner with my husband during restaurant week. Our server (I think Patricia) was really sweet. All of the food was really good except the clam pasta wasnt the best. Could have had more sauce and clams were a bit overdone. Otherwise everything else was delicious though!

MJ B Galendez: Visited the DC area for my boyfriend’s birthday and in our culture, he had to eat pasta. He had the chicken parmesan with spaghetti. I ordered the shrimp alfredo and my daughter ordered the ricotta cheese dish. We ordered the smoked salmon toast as an appetizer. I wasn’t that impressed by the food. I was glad to be out celebrating for my boyfriend’s birthday but the food was mediocre. We spent almost $200 for the three of us. The service was pretty alright. The server was personable and they even gave my bf a tiramisu cake for his birthday with a candle on top. The tiramisu was a hit! It was delicious. The rest of the things we ordered wasn’t anything worth returning back to. I do expect to eat decent food with the amount of money that I paid.
Response: Hi MJ. Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry we disappointed you. If you decide to try us again, please know that we are always happy to offer you a different dish if the one you choose is not to your liking. We prepare our food using high-quality, fresh ingredients, and we must set our prices accordingly. We are happy to hear that your boyfriend enjoyed his birthday tiramisu. - Sherry (Manager)

Kayla McAleer: Alta Strada was recommended to us by friends, and it was the perfect place for a dinner date! It was quiet and decorated nicely. The menu is priced fairly for the large portion of food the entrees are. We got the ziti and spaghetti cacio e pepe and both were delicious, especially the ziti. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the bathrooms were clean. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Corinthia Cromwell: Had dinner last night with a large group of musicians & friends & the food was delicious, the service was excellent & friendly & the atmosphere was exquisite. I ordered the Caesar salad as my appetizer & it was not only delicious, the presentation was outstanding. My entree was equally delicious & again the presentation was excellent!!!!
Response: Hi Corinthia. Thanks so much for choosing Alta Strada. We are happy you and your friends enjoyed your meals. We hope to see you again soon. - The Alta Strada Family

Antonina Lovyn: I came here with my sister on a sister date and we’ve both really enjoyed the food and the service in this restaurant. I recommend coming here if you’re craving some carbs!!

Esther Sang: The service and food was great! We got the grilled pizza, margarita pizza, and penne alla vodka and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was good, constant water refills and the chef was so kind as to gift us these cannolis. Besides that, there was a rude bald man that when I tried to use the bathroom he bashed on me and I found that rude.

Jack Sparrow225: A great little authentic Italian restaurant. Stopped for supper with my grandpa while visiting. Delicious food and good service
Response: Thank you for your kind words! We are so happy you and your grandpa enjoyed your visit. - The Alta Strada Family

Roni Vega: I have never experienced such horrible treatment to their staff from management. I stopped by to grab dinner today. There was a nice server that tried to help me get a table outside as well as other folks Not sure if the owner/manager was having a bad bad day but it was no excuse for him to treat his staff like that. I witnessed, as well as many others, the horrible treatment towards his staff. Grabbing them by the arm and telling them to quickly help everyone. He was talking down at them and said some slurs in Spanish. I have NEVER experienced such treatment towards those who are helping him make money. I, of course, went inside and told him that I didn’t appreciate the way he was yelling at his staff. He simply said “I’m trying to help them”. There’s not a single excuse in the world to be treating staff this way. I told him that i did not appreciate it and he was very sarcastic with his answers and said ok thanks and nothing he can do about it. I will not ever set foot in this place and will be sure to let my colleagues and friends, who usually dined there, know what I experienced today. Horrible, horrible!
Response: Hi Roni. We take issues such as this very seriously, however we are confused by your review. No one on our staff recalls anything like this happening last night. They did recall that there was a wait list for patio seating, and a guest dining alone who was aggressive with the manager over the wait. This guest threatened to post a negative review. Perhaps this might refresh your recollection. Thank you.

JA KP (JAKP): Ben is fabulous. Totally knowledgeable about the food and the wine. Truly enjoys his job and his customers. Rebecca is the best. Very caring about how her customers are enjoying their meal. Her customer service is genuine, as well as her enjoyment of the food.
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words! We agree our people are just the best. 😊 - The Alta Strada Family

Jenn C.: Nice dining experience good service and great food.

Nicole R: My husband and I went here for lunch on our anniversary. The food was amazing! I had the tortellini and he had the lasagna. Everything was so fresh and delicious!
Response: Thank you kindly for the 5-star rating! We hope to serve you again soon, Happy Anniversary! -The Floriana Family

Landis Rojas: I liked this place. Good service and attention. It's with a pre reservation. The food is delicious and very fresh. They have tables indoor and outdoor. So you can enjoy wherever you want. I took some pictures of the menu because the letters are so small. I recommended this restaurant!
Response: Thank you so much for the kind review Landis! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your meal and the option to eat indoors or outdoors. We hope to serve you again soon! -The Floriana Family

Carolyn Rider: I dined here with 2 others for restaurant week. $40 for an appetizer, dinner, and dessert. The appetizers were great - we got the gnocchi, Arancini, and the Salumi. We paired it with some excellent wine. For dinner, the lasagna was 10/10. Super cute vibes, the restaurant is in an old house. Service is excellent.
Response: Carolyn, We are delighted you were able to join us for restaurant week and enjoyed your meal choices! It is wonderful to hear you were pleased with our atmosphere and service overall. We hope you will join us again soon! -The Floriana Family

Julia A.: Good service and amazing (and very creative!) cocktails. The food disappointed a bit (was expecting more flavor and more freshness), but I am willing to try other dishes next time.
Response: Hi Julia, Thank you for the 4-star rating and for the feedback about our menu. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the cocktails and look forward to serving you again! -The Floriana Family

Ashley Dobbs: Went out for a date night and was not disappointed. We began the night with cocktails, warm bread and the BEST pesto I’ve ever tasted. We then had the lasagna and shrimp & scallop risotto. Both were cooked to perfection. Finished the night with an amazing teramisu. Don’t even question if this place is worth it. Just go!
Response: We are overjoyed to hear that you had such a wonderful experience! We hope to see you again soon so we can contribute to more memorable moments for you.

Gary Smith: restaurant was very pretty and service was good. Came with a large group and we shared somethings so ended up trying a large portion of the menu. the mozzarella and tomato appetizer had very mediocre mozzarella. The lasagna was okay, but not significantly better than a frozen oven ready lasagna. the sweet gnocchi and rabbit gnocchi were good, and the portions for the rabbit gnocchi were very generous, but not out standing. the calamari was good, but not exceptional in anyway. The brussel sprout appetizer was better than other dishes. The filet filled tortellini was by far the winning dish for the night. in the deserts we tried coffee ice cream, tiramisu, and the chocolate mouse. the mouse was very good, and on the thick side which I enjoy. the tiramisu and ice cream were good, but not noteworthy. there was out door dining as well as two floors of indoor dining. bathrooms are on the second floor only accessible by stairs that were moderately difficult to navigate so not a handicap friendly location. I would come back for a moderately nice dinner event, but would not go out of my way to eat here.
Response: Gary, Thank you for leaving us a review. We are disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy a few items from our menu. At Floriana, we are dedicated to making finely crafted dishes and are proud of what our team has created. We greatly appreciate this detailed review as it allows us to learn and focus on what we can do better. If you dine with us again in the future, we hope that your experience will be more enjoyable. -The Floriana Family

Ammar Nahari: The location, service and restaurant in general are all wonderful. Maybe we were just unlucky with our orders. We got the Burrata appetizer with cold sweet potato soup and truffles, I didn't like it much to be honest, and I couldn't taste the truffle flavor. The waiter is really nice and he brought a balsamic glaze which made it a little better. We also ordered lamb gnocchi, it was delicious but different from any Italian food I've had. It had some bitterness to it that can be balanced with some lemon juice. The shrimp and scallop risotto was really really good. It reminded me of a restaurant in Fano, Italy. The truffle flavor is just perfect. Lastly, we got a pistachio Gelato to go. It was creamy and delicious. In general we were happy with the visit, but next time we want to try their lasagna, whole fish, and caprese. Those were the waiter's recommendations.
Response: Ammar, We greatly appreciate you taking the time to leave us this review. It is wonderful to hear you were happy with your experience overall and we will absolutely take into consideration your comments in regards to your dishes, as guest satisfaction is our top priority. We hope to serve you again soon! -The Floriana Family

Heather Walker: Excellent food! Our server, Kyle was great and very attentive! A bit cramped inside and noisy but otherwise all was great!
Response: Heather, Thank you kindly for the 4-star rating! We're glad to hear that our wait staff did an excellent job. We hope to serve you again! -The Floriana Family

Hayden Clay: I came for a Sunday Brunch. A lot of us ordered the chicken biscuit because I remember it being yummy pre-pandemic. Either I have short term memory loss or something is going very wrong in the kitchen. All of our biscuits were burnt black on the bottom and lacked all flavor. The "fried" chicken was not breaded and so over cooked that it was hard to bite through. The piece of chicken was absolutely tiny (see picture). The "fried egg" was scrambled eggs thrown on the tasteless biscuit. So disappointed. Truly inedible. See pictures for tiny overcooked, not fried chicken. And burnt bottom.
Response: Hayden, We greatly apologize that your brunch was not as enjoyable as you remember having previously. It is a priority to serve fresh and delicious dishes to each guest on every occasion they dine with us. We would appreciate hearing more about your experience and discussing how we can make this right for you. Please send me an email at jamie@florianarestaurant.com at your earliest convenience. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again. -The Floriana Family

Timothy Jackson: I recently visited Floriana to celebrate my 40th birthday. It was my first time visiting but it won't be the last. Everything was perfect from the ambiance, the service, not to mention the food. I especially loved the mussels. They should seriously take the mussel broth, add some ramen noodles and they would have a great starter. You won't be disappointed.
Response: Timothy, Thank you for the feedback and for letting us celebrate your special day with you! We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your birthday experience with us and we hope to serve you again very soon! - The Floriana Family

San Lorenzo: what do users think?

Allie Bluhm-Whitley: We had a fantastic dinner at San Lorenzo! The service was fantastic and extremely caring. We were unable to get a table during our reservation time, which was already not a problem because they have a lovely bar to eat at, but the manager Christina took special care of us because of the inconvenience. The food was spectacular and dessert was perfect. I can’t wait to return!

M Trev: Fantastic!! Easy to walk past but you'll regret it if you do. Easy to reserve on OpenTable and a true Italian gem! Full bar, flawless service and food - every time. Everything is authentic from.the rustic crusty breads to the handmade pastas. A great place for a quiet dinner. Consider taking Uber as parking isn’t great in this part of town.

Greg Young: Dinner with friends in from NYC, did not disappoint. Intimate space and delicious food. You could not avoid a delicious choice on the menu—we tried the veal, rabbit ragu pappardelle and halibut entrees and had calamari and squash blossoms starters. So very good.
Response: Greg, thank you so much!

Dawson Brunswick: San Lorenzo and its staff were great. The truffle mushroom tortellini was absolutely amazing. The portion size was just right for lunch. There was a nice crowd at lunch time, but I was able to be seated right away and the service was very timely. Would definitely return when in the area.

Philip Pena: If you’re looking for great food, phenomenal service, nice vibes, look no further. I admit, the outside facade looks kind of questionable but once you get inside, it’s gorgeous, the staff are beyond friendly - I received multiple free dishes (I was moving into the neighborhood and got free desert) — also do yourself a favor and get SQUASH BLOSSOMS. Unreal. Carrot and ginger soup was the weirdest creation I’ve ever heard but the most delectable, light, tasty, soup my lips have ever had the privilege of interacting with. — SAN LORENZO is best Italian in Shaw. Don’t walk, RUN!

Simoní Schmidt: Adorable restaurant! The food is amazing, a little bit overpriced, but very tasty. The service is very good! Bianca was super kind and adorable! We had Bruschetta, Pappardelli and Tortelli. And for dessert, Bianca suggested us a great cheesecake!

Rachel S: San Lorenzo is a gem of a restaurant. Every time I dine here I am reminded how lucky I am to live so close to this place! The lunch sandwiches were a wonderful treat during my work from home days, and I was pleased to see them on the menu when I last went in for a business lunch. I have never had a bad meal here. The bread, pasta, fish, desserts, drinks, and everything else are lovely. Do your self a favor and book a table for a quiet and delicious meal in the heart of DC.

Wood Privacy: I had been looking forward to coming here for quite a while and finally decided to make a reservation. The Good: The peach Gespacho special appetizer was lovely for a hot summer evening as was the Fiori Di Zucca appetizer. My wife ordered a special veal ravioli, which was lovely. Also nice was the wine selection. The Bad: The Pappardelle pasta was nothing to rave about after tasting my wife's pasta. I made the mistake of ordering the special lamb chops. Just two of them mind you. Not only were they some of the toughest, most tasteless lamb chops I've ever eaten, they charged me $60 for them! I couldn't believe it when I saw the check! Needless to say this place is mediocre for the price. I live around the corner and will never return. One and done. Maybe $30 for the two lamb chops and I would have considered giving repeat business but now they'll never get another dime out of me as a matter of principle. There are plenty of places in DC that offer better Italian food and far better value. But if you want to throw your money away for mediocre food, then sure, dine here!

D G: Phenomenal food! Called to make a reservation for 8 on a busy Saturday night, around 2 weeks before said dinner. Christina from San Lorenzo was super helpful in talking through the food options and what the dinner would entail. Everything we ate was amazing, and because it was a fixed priced course, had plenty of food for everyone. Top notch Italian food in a funny little spot.

Hong Lin: My friend and I had an amazing time at this restaurant! Our bartender, Emily, was attentive and gave us wonderful recommendations. The mango & passionfruit cheesecake was amazing, and the truffle tortelli and lobster risotto were also lovely.

Lupo Verde: what do users think?

Rae Huggins: What an amazing experience dining at Lupo Verde. Everything from the ambiance, hand crafted cocktails to our mouth watering meals. Our bartenders, wait staff and even the restaurant management were all very kind and personable. We felt so at home while dining at this establishment. So, much so that the Executive Chef came out just to take a photo with us. By far, one of the most authentic Italian restaurants in DC. Love this place. Highly recommend it!!

Danielle Perdue: The social brunch is such a great deal! For $35 pp you get an appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 side, and a bottle of sparkling wine to share. The food was delicious. I wish our server would have been able to explain the menu options a bit more. We chose a steak dish but had no idea it was actually a sandwich. When I asked the server about it he didn’t explain how the dish was presented. Luckily, it worked out and we loved it. I know the service industry is struggling to find staff, and that our server was doing the best he could with little support. This may be a wild idea but maybe his manager could’ve helped him versus walking around and not engaging with guests? Also, the young lady doing “wine service” needs to be taught the proper technique of opening sparkling wine. If not she might take an eye out. Other than that… I would dine here again.

Sarah Dewberry: Cannot rave about this place enough! The most authentic Italian food you'll ever have in the U.S. I'm so happy I found this place because the food is unbelievable. We ordered the bruschetta and gnocchi and it was good to the last bite. The wait staff was very friendly and our drinks were always refilled. We will definitely be back!

Dan Rodriguez: I like it here. Been a few times already, once for dinner and twice for brunch. Their fixed priced brunch is great. Flavors are fresh and pasta is amazing. Drinks are good too. Service is appropriate and prices are comparable to similar type of establishments if only slightly better.

Kentaro: Loved the atmosphere here, and the waiters were all very nice. We thought everything would be a small portion but they gave us much more than expected, maybe price was higher? Not sure about it but anyways the food was great especially the calamari and gnocchi with clams!

Alex L: A really cute place with good food! I ordered the clam gnocchi on the recommendation of the waiter, it was fantastic though a small portion. My husband got the Italian sausage and black truffle tagliatelle, it was slightly less flavorful but he liked it. The cocktails were great and the service was too! Plan to return soon!

Fernanda Lanzagorta: I had high expectations for this restaurant. The dishes were dirty, the bread was undercooked, the pasta was ok but the food took forever to arrive. Based on the prices of this restaurant you should get a better meal better service.

Michael Harrington: We came for dinner and the atmosphere was perfect. The restaurant wasn't too stuffy, but also provided a fun ambience. We started with a couple cocktails, and followed this with a bottle of Pinot Noir, all of which was delicious. For dinner, my girlfriend ordered the braised short rib with truffle risotto, which was spectacular. For myself, I ordered the smoke duck breast, which came with a parsnip puree, roasted beats, and foie gras. The duck was delicious, cooked to perfection, and with only a slight hint of smoke. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu, and took the chef's recommendation for a "lobster." The lobster, which was really puff pastry in the shape of a lobster tail, filled with pastry cream, was amazing. I fully recommend dinner here.

Shamsher: This place has been on my list for a very very long time. I have been a hype man for Lupo Pizzeria. A place for some of the most delicious Neapolitan pizza in DC. It was about time that I tried Lupo Verde. I must start by saying this. MAN!!! Everything was really really out of this world delicious. Bruschetta for appetizer, served in the most unique way possible. Very refreshing and delicious. Ordered 2 different entrées. First was the Butternut Squash Ravioli and it was amazing. So much flavor and the feeling of freshly made ravioli was strong even though that might not be the case. Secondly the short rig entrée was cooked to perfection. Melting off the bone, over a bed of the creamiest mash potatoes. What a wonderful experience. 10/10 for the service. It was perfect. 10/10 for the food for me. Rookie score I know but some places deserve all the love. This is on of them.

Cynthia M: Really great food!! Loved the pastas and the Avocado Bruschettone too! The pastas’ texture and flavor were all on point. Would definitely go back when I’m in the mood for Italian!

DuPont Italian Kitchen: what do users think?

Laura Fries: There are very few Italian restaurants that I enjoy in the D.C. area. I don't count any of the chain restaurants that claim to be Italian. DuPont Italian is reliable, tasty and friendly. It feels like a locals place, but has the food to back it up. We enjoyed our meal and the wine, although I wish it did have a bigger selection of wine. Not Italian gourmet, but again, reliable and tasty. And yes, we went a little heavy on the parmesan in the photos. But when in Rome! LOL. We both cleaned our plates!

David Miller: I’m visiting DC for a long weekend and thought I’d try this place out for an early dinner before the crowds invaded. The pomegranate margarita happy hour special was small but powerful. I think the second was even more potent than the first. Then I had my go-to for Italian restaurants- the chicken Parmesan. It was very good, with a chunky marinara sauce on the linguini. I do wish that came with a spoon so I didn’t have sauce splashing everywhere. As I ate, I noticed regulars making their way in, as the staff was clearly familiar with them. I’ll definitely go back the next time I’m in town.

Fernanda Lanzagorta: Its a good spot for classic Italian from pizzas to pastas. The staff is always friendly.

lv vl: Good kitchen, tastes good. The utensils would be good if changed because they look very old and used! Otherwise service ok good for the price!

Constance Brown: I had the seafood pasta, Mozzarella cheese sticks, garlic bread and red sangria. The food tastes amazing, authentic and flavored. The customer service was impeccable. We sat out on the patio and the sever provided us with bug spray and citronella candle to fight off of the bugs. I would give this restaurant 10 stars. Must try 😋

Papa Stauth: Ricotta Cheese Ravioli in Alfredo sauce, Eggplant Parmigiana, Baked Lasagna with house made Cheese Sticks ALL very good

Abrar Thabit: Very delicious Italian food. We ordered a customized pizza and chicken fettuccine Alfredo. The service was good, as well. Spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas. We were four and the food was more than enough. The check came for $55.5 only!

Saylor Strus: My bf and I ordered the garlic bruchetta, calamari, chicken fettuccine alfredo, and chicken parmigiana with a frose and a red sangria. Everything was phenomenal, along with the price! Our waiter was Javier, and he was on top of everything! The food was brought out so quickly and so fresh! Using garlic bread for the bruchetta was such a perfect pairing and a nice take on the delicious classic. The calimari was fried beautifully with delicious marinara sauce. The parmigiana was so tender and juicy with the cheese melted perfectly, and the alfredo was so creamy. Javier wished me a very happy birthday with a little dance and even chose our dessert for us since we couldn't decide. He surprised us with the chocolate mousse which was so rich and airy. It was Javier's first day, and he was fantastic! So friendly and very attentive! Thank you so much for a great birthday dinner!!

Sophie: Went here for a drag show and had a lot of fun. Helena Handbasket was the host and she introduced a wide variety of acts. Even the first timers gave good performances. Aside from the show, the venue was a little unorthodox. The show was at the upstairs bar which seemed fairly standard, but when I first walked in I entered an Italian restaurant. Confused, I flagged down a host who informed me the show was upstairs. First time I've seen that kinda thing but it worked. I did get to try to calamari and it was awesome!

Lori Gardiner: We were visiting DC and stayed at a nearby hotel. We discovered this gem by accident and had a very tasty meal here. The chicken parmigiana was very good and the bread with olive oil was delicious. Service was very good too. We were very pleased.

The Red Hen: what do users think?

Vikram Seshadri: Amazing service, great ambiance and delicious food. The portions are small/personal for the price but delicious nonetheless. Had a few amazing vegetarian options and the waiter was kind enough to explain everything to us.

Rose A: All natural wines by the glass paired with amazing food and a large, airy bar in a rustic setting. Very friendly bartenders too. The whipped ricotta crostini was one of the best things I’ve ever had, and yes you can order Cacio e Pepe off the menu and it’s delicious. A lovely gem!

Kit Lai Pine: After trying for 6 years and failed to get a reservation at the time we wanted when we visited our college kids in DC, we finally got to dine at Red Hen on Saturday night. Every thing we ordered the chicken liver mousse, bruschetta, sausage pasta, squid ink spaghetti, pork chop and dessert were delicious. The pork chop was moist and scrumptious. The two pastas were so flavorful. Probably the best Italian restaurant in DC. Service was great. Can’t wait to dine at Red Hen again.

Ying Liang: I was today years old when I learned that antipasta means first course/small plates, and not “not-pasta” lol. We stopped by with dinner reservations on a Sunday night. The restaurant is a bit dark but the ambiance is great. Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic! Really felt like an elevated dining experience. Grilled Spanish octopus was so tender and flavorful. Risotto balls were crispy and bold. Squid ink linguini was the best pasta I’ve had in the states. Definitely check this place out if you get the chance to treat yourself!

Eugenia Kim: Omg! This place did not disappoint. This Italian restaurant had amazing ambiance when walking in and a perfect date night spot and small gathering. Reservations are highly recommended. And if dining in you will be charged an extra 20% gratuity to help fund the restaurant for covid recovery. Which we didn’t care! The service was fast and our waiter was so friendly and gave us great recommendations.
Response: Thanks so much for joining us, Eugenia! We're so happy that you enjoyed your dinner with us! We'd love to see you again soon.

Chelsea Morante: !!!TOURIST REVIEW!!! My mom and i visited this restaurant Labor Day weekend on my first trip to DC. We stayed at a near by air Bnb that recommended the place and honestly I’d one of the BEST restaurants yet. The food was absolutely amazing so much flavor very true to the authentic Italian restaurant feel. Love the open kitchen experience. We sat at the bar where our bartender Ely was the most amazing person ever. She helped me convince my mom to try things she wouldn’t normally eat while also recommending some Divine red wines. She was so great throughout the whole experience it made it that much more enjoyable. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. #OutofTownerCritic
Response: Hi Chelsea! We are so honored you and your mom put us on your DC itinerary! It was lovely to have you both in and we hope you had a wonderful rest of your trip to D.C.

Melinda Nguyen: Best pasta I've had in a veryyyy long time. Every dish is sooo profoundly flavorful! The cinnamon toast crunch Gelato was also very tasty. Shout out to our server, Sean, for giving all the good recommendations!!! It's so hard to get a reservation to this place, but it is worth it! Also prices are relatively reasonable for quality, portion sizes, and location! 10/10 would recommend!!!

Nicholas West: Had a wonderful Sunday evening dinner at Red Hen. All the courses were delightful. Stand outs were the arancini, squid ink linguini, and the crispy pork chop. But can't forget dessert, the affrogato with cinnamon crunch gelato and the tiramisu were delicious. We also enjoyed the Duck liver and Foie Gras Mousse, which was as decadent as it sounds, and the Grilled Spanish Octopus. The food and experience was worth the trip. I would be remiss not to thank the kind stranger who picked up our bill. It was a complete surprise and still haven't found the correct words to express our appreciation.

Ariel Koch: Stopped in for after dinner drinks and desert, the bar staff was amazing!Aperol spritz, Tiramisu, Espresso martini & Ginger Pearl

Abby: The food here is TOO good. Probably the best Italian place in DC. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. The pasta dishes were excellent and I appreciate the reasonable prices.

Siroc Restaurant: what do users think?

Anne Klockenkemper: Wonderful service and delicious food! My boyfriend was thrilled with their gluten-free pasta and the fact there was also a gluten-free dessert option for him. Everything we ordered was fresh and prepared excellently. While it was busy, staff were attentive but not pushy, and we felt in no way rushed. It was our first visit but we will definitely be back!

Tara Tripoli Quintana: My husband and I LOVE going to local restaurants when we travel. This place sounded like a great fit - we love Italian! We absolutely LOVED this place! Great location, friendly helpful staff, clean and inviting atmosphere, great menu, and authentic homemade delicious food! We would DEFINITELY eat here again! Highly recommend!

Levi Wasmundt: Loved this place. I did feel a little underdressed wearing a T-shirt and shorts after a long day of exploring DC/Arlington. They have a huge wine selection, so there's a good chance you'll find something you like. I got a bread basket that contained the best bread I've had after traveling from Boston to NYC to DC. Their house smoked salmon was an excellent starter. I got the salmon filet which was well balanced with the greens and potatoes. My gluten free girlfriend was very much excited when she received her carbonara that had gluten free spaghetti (not penne pasta like most places). My word to the wise is wear a collared shirt if it's convenient, but they won't judge either ways.

Yaro Levada: THE MOST amazing experience! A wonderful vegan dish was prepared for me with lots of veggies and spaghetti and am so thankful that staff was kind and accommodating for making a vegan dish. All other dishes we ordered were delicious as well! The staff is kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. We will come back tomorrow and highly recommend this place! It's 10 stars 😊

Ian Cameron: We had an excellent dinner last weekend at Siroc. Warm, inviting dining room. Food was terrific. And great service. All at a reasonable price. Importantly, you can have a good conversation - this is not a loud restaurant. It's worth the trip downtown. So when it comes time to reconnect with friends over a great meal and a great bottle of wine please consider Siroc.

Hossein: Very delicious starter and entree. Great service even though they were very busy. I did not like my desert. They offered another one for free which was nice of them, but the other dessert was not good either. Another thing, a restaurant fancy like this and crowded, did not have any background music playing which seemed strange to me. Overall, very good place to have dinner with your loved ones.

Pam Matthews: This is a hidden gem. The food was fantastic — I ate WAY more than I normally would have — and so was the service and the wine. I was in a party of six and everyone enjoyed their meal immensely. One of the party was vegan, and they bent over backwards to make sure she was accommodated. I am not easily impressed, but this is an impressive place! It was fairly random that we ended up here, and I can’t be happier about chance.

JL C: Good food, short menu meaning freshly prepared. Efficient and friendly service what more to ask?

Mary Elliott: Our dinner was so good. The smoked salmon appetizer was delicious and our server thoughtfully decided it so we each had a plate. We ordered old fashioned to start. They were not great. Certainly a restaurant where wine is the way to go, but at a place with a full bar these drinks were sophomoric. My husband had a special beef tenderloin that was perfectly cooked and super tender. The sauce with it complemented the beef perfectly. The potatoes were not appealing, thin and squeezed out of a pastry bag to look like toothpaste, but everything else was so good and there were so few mashed potatoes, it made no difference. I had the carbonara which was delicious, really delightful sauce. Our server got a bit busier so I had to ask the expediter for a glass of wine with dinner and it was lovely. We had two desserts? The almond cake and the tiramisu. The almond cake was so good, moist and warm, the tiramisu was unremarkable. Overall a great dinner. We would come back!

Johana Davidson: Incredible Food and Service ! My family and I are from Las Vegas and I thought I had some amazing food experiences there. Well Siroc really went above and beyond our expectations !!! All 9 of us had different dishes and every single dish was cooked to perfection ! I would highly recommend this place . The food, service and location in Washington DC is perfection. It made our experience in DC that much more memorable. I’ll be recommending this place to everyone. I’ll certainly be back myself !

Capa Tosta: what do users think?

Yenny A: Delicious pasta, savory cocktails, & fast service in a cozy atmosphere. The owner himself, Aldo was very welcoming and told us how this hidden gem is family owned. All of the pasta is made from scratch in-house so you can imagine the texture and quality is 10/10. Will definitely be back to enjoy the patio once it gets warmer!

Rebecca F: This place is amazing. Food is delicious and made from scratch. All the staff is professional and truly are attentive to every customer. Waiter new the menu and recommended a delicious meal for me and my friends. This is a amazing Italian food from the homemade bread, to the pasta and dessert. I will definitely be back.

DIANA CARRASCO: Delicious and amazing food with above and beyond service!!! We gathered a group of professionals for a small holiday networking event at the the new upstairs bar. Starting by the cozy atmosphere that is very inviting, you can’t go wrong with the handcrafted cocktails like the smoked old fashion which is now my favorite! Everyone was delighted with the homemade yet sophisticated food. I tried an amazing spinach salad, and we shared the mussels, prosciutto and burrata board and the crispy artichokes, besides looking great in the presentation, everything was very tasty and delicious! I can’t wait to go back! A very nice addition to Columbia Heights!

Jairo Castro-Rivera: Was craving Italian for date night with my girlfriend, struck gold with this place! After searching online for like 20 minutes finally found a decently priced Italian restaurant. First of all the aesthetics were amazing, casual but elegant. Second the pastas had a wonderful homemade taste, very flavorful and delicious. Lastly, the bomboloni dessert was the best dessert I’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of their menu! Follow us @dcjunglebook for more content

Mary Z: Small intimate restaurant, loves the vibe and overall experience. We ordered the rice balls and the fried artichoke for appetizer, they were okay, could have just had the table bread which was amazing. I ordered the pasta with vodka sauce and grilled chicken. It was amazing!!!! Nice portion size, good chicken, sauce and pasta ratio. Very flavorful and sauce was not acidic. The special of the day was lamb shank. It came in a bed of whipped potatoes and gravy. It was also melt in your mouth delicious. I forgot the name of the drink we had but had three of their cocktails all were amazing. Definitely would recommend, just personally would skip on the appetizer because I don’t eat pork or seafood so options were limited.

Aron Flasher: Capa Tosta is fantastic! My wife and I ate there a few weeks ago and we are still talking about the eggplant parm appetizer. My wife loves it so she ordered the appetizer and I absolutely loved it. We also tried the potato croquettes and the crispy artichokes, both of which were delicious. We also shared a burrata salad which was excellent - very fresh and light. For entrees, my wife had the Tagliatelle Bolognese and I had the rigatoni which were some of the best we've ever had (including what we ate in Italy). My only regret was not ordering dessert (we were too full). Everything about our experience at Capa Tosta was top notch, the wine, the service and the decor. We will definitely be back; we're so excited to have now an Italian spot in DC.

Leo: We really enjoyed our meal dining outside on the patio. The pasta tasted really good and freshly prepared. The bottle of wine we ordered was fantastic, and of course the service was exceptional. We really enjoyed meeting and talking to the owner, Aldo! Great place, highly recommend.

MARY PAULINO MELVIN: Brian was amazing. One of the best meals and best drinks I have ever had. A must in the DC area. So much fun to sit at the bar and try new drinks too! The meatballs were so tasty! A must have with the infused vodka Brian made use

Nick Dryfuse: We visited this place with friends and couldn't have been more pleased. The food was outstanding; probably the best Italian food we've had in the DC area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was great. It was intimate, comfortable, and not stuffy. Really pleased with the overall experience and we are already planning to return in February.

Henri Brown: We had a wonderful dinner here! The staff was courteous and quick, the food was DELICIOUS, all homemade pasta and sauces, and the vibes are immaculate - authentic Italian through and through. Great music, really cool space - 10/10 recommend. Try them out!

Giovanni's Trattu: what do users think?

Alan Steinberg: This place is intimate and cute. Great for casual family dinner and would make a great date spot. The food is very tasty. The portion size is fine, and worth the price. However when someone asked about the dessert, the server said they're not "American size portions." I still thought it was a perfectly fine portion of tiramisu and one of the best I've eaten. Service was kind of slow but we also had a group of 20 people for a restaurant that only holds 30 so we probably overwhelmed them. It's cool that they have names on the walls of the regulars customers.

Amanda Welsh: This is the only place I will miss in DC, and I definitely miss it! Our group tried so many menu items and every one of them was "the best!" Had to go a second time because the food and staff were so amazing! Perfectly cooked Calamari, delicious handmade pasta, friendly service, authentic flavors, filling plates, beautiful and romantic atmosphere, desserts that make you wanna slap your momma, an experience that you'll revisit in your dreams. Don't miss out on your own flavor trip to Italy!

Sharyn Malnati: Delicious fresh pasta dishes, reminded me of our trip to Venice. The tiramasu cannot be missed! Perfect meal!

HK: A small cozy place with great ambiance for either a quick bite or dinner date. Taking one star out because the tomato seafood pasta was sub par compared to other places. Most of the seafood was mussels and small calamaris, no shrimp or scallops… you would expect a greater variety of seafood when you order seafood pasta. Other menus we ordered were good.

Rosie HK: This was such a cute intimate spot for dinner with friends. They are known for their wine and only but only had one choice of beer (but Peroni is always solid). I got the Bolognese which was super flavorful and packed with spices. I definitely want to go back and try another dish as well as dessert!

M: Twice now I have tried to give the porcini mushroom pasta a chance. It does not taste good. I enjoy pasta. I really really wanted to enjoy this. I added some black pepper and it just doesn't taste good. I had hope. I wanted it to be good. It has some flavor, but it just doesn't sit well.

Steve Tong: Great food, great service. Truly a hidden gem.

in edex: Great food, wine and service. I had calamari and veal tortellini accompanied with Cabernet Sauvignon - everything was delicious. The service was great, on time, without unwanted interruptions and really delicate.

Gina Hicks: Great service, the pan seared chicken and calamari was wonderful! Thank you for hosting our large group!

Craig Spisak: I wish 3.5 was an option. It's decent Italian food with lots of pasta options but only slightly better than average. Everyone was happy but no one was wowed.

Maggiano's Little Italy: what do users think?

Keysmash: Delicious food, and the staff are smart! Staff here can remember large orders with many alterations, and the food still comes out fast. I wish they had more non-alcoholic drink options, though. Also, the vibes in here are great! Lovely decor, low lighting is good for a date. Try the 5$ take-home dinners! You can get your parking ticket validated here, there is a direct elevator entrance from the parking garage. Highly recommended!
Response: We are proud to hear that you had an overall enjoyable experience. We look forward to your next visit!

Lani: I ordered the lobster carbonara… it’s something I’ve ordered it a few times at the location in a different city. This first time ordering here. The pasta sauce has a very chalky, bitter taste, the lobster was chewy and flavorless and there was not the same amount of bacon. It just didn’t taste as good unfortunately.
Response: We aim to exceed expectations every time, and we regret very much that we didn't do so in this case, Lani. We will be passing this feedback along directly, and we would like to connect with you personally to get more details about your experience. Please share your contact information at https://www.maggianos.com/contact so we can reach out. Thank you.

Richard Lapaglia: Some of the worst food I have ever had! I don’t know how you screw up something as simple as a baked penne. But they figured it out. The sauce was grossly sweet and otherwise unseasoned. There were only a few little fragments of Italian sausage and barely an cheese. Plus it took over an hour for delivery. Stay away. Enclosed is a photo of this sad sad meal.
Response: We are sorry to learn that you did not enjoy your visit. We would appreciate more details about your overall experience. Please share them at www.maggianos.com/contact so our teams may follow up. Thank you!

Markita Murray: The food here is DELICIOUS!!!! We enjoyed our first time here our waitress was a doll. She was very friendly and informative because it was our first time. We will be back

Joshua WT: Ricardo the Server is one of reasons you should visit Maggiano’s aside from the most amazing entrées. His customer service is exceptional, Impressive, and most importantly genuine! As the district Manager of T-Mobile our sales Team can learn a lot from him….
Response: We are proud to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us, Joshua!

T. D.: Though they didn’t have neither soup nor calamari (oh, my☹️), we were very pleased with the service and food (amount and quality) and went there twice. Food made deliciously and we enjoyed every bite of it! Thank you for amazing food and service

Edward Harris: My go to for a Great Time!! If you ever want great service, great food and good drinks... this is your go to. Management is totally engaged with customers. Food is always good and fresh. Always a great environment. Never too loud and even when its busy, you always feel attended to. Cash is one the best bartenders there. Highly recommended👍🏽

Symea Johnson: Busy holiday weekend but was able to make a last minute reservation for dinner. Greeted by a very friendly host and our server was awesome! The menu has changed due to COVID but our server was able to get the kitchen to recreate the Tuscan shrimp &chicken (my favorite) it was soo good; they still have the take home pasta entree for $5! Ice cold water, fresh hot bread and main dish was all great and all for good price

B.J. K.: Went to Maggianos to meet Santa Claus. What a fabulous experience!! Food was excellent (definitely for an adult palate) santa was spectacular but most of all, the restaurant was beautifully decorated. Definitely had that Christmas glowing spirit inside this beautifully holiday themed restaurant, nice picture spots inside the restaurant (Christmas tree, fireplace) and I can’t wait to go back. Gave me the warm fuzzy feeling. Five stars ⭐️

Surbhi Kanotra: Cash is a great bartender and the Happy Hour has great drinks and 2 flatbread options.
Response: We are proud to hear that you had an overall enjoyable experience. We look forward to your next visit!

Ristorante La Perla of Washington: what do users think?

Alyana McCarthy: I got the minestrone for my appetizer- very flavorful and filling. I also got the chicken parmigiana which was bigger than what I’m used to. It comes with a side of spaghetti. I’m not sure what the dessert was called but it was a chocolate shell filled with gelato and it was absolutely divine. Their selection of wines were nice as well. The chef came out from time to time to ensure guests were enjoying their food and I loved that. We were seated as soon as we got In and they had a full house. Our server was so kind and courteous. Wait time was not bad for food that came out fresh and hot. Would definitely go back.

Samantha Weg: If I could give 0 stars I would! My family and I have been coming here for years. Tonight although, was the worst service we have ever experienced. From the attitude of the hostess and the waiters ignoring us. The “manger” looked like a deer in headlights! He had no clue what he was doing. When we complained to him, he pretended like he didn’t know what we were talking about. My husband had to get the water pitcher from the bar because it has been so long since anyone had refilled our water. We arrived at 6pm and we didn’t get our food until after 8pm! Absolutely disappointing. Don’t waste your money here!

Dan Jossen: Food was delicious. I started with these two jumbo shrimp encrusted with coconut, on a bed of oranges in a really tasty orange sauce. It's one of the chef's creations and was unique and delightful. The penne alla vodka and my risotto were absolutely decadent. One richer and tastier than the next. We had a really tasty dry red wine. The angel hair pesto was creamier than I'm used to and threw me off a bit. It was rich while I was expecting a light, refreshing pesto with olive oil. The bronzini pizzaiola was delicious with the sauce but a bit bland on its own. The chef came out and talked to all the tables. He was such a wonderfully cute Italian man.

cara zibbell: Went there last night for a reserved birthday celebration. It was awful!!! Vallet service has been discontinued, food was mediocre at best!! Waiter was disorganized with meals coming out at different times. Many items on the menu were not available and waiter seemed annoyed with having to serve a larger table by himself…we were 10 people but had a 5pm reservation with few people in the restaurant! It was an outstanding restaurant in the past, but is no longer.

S.A Qurashi: We had a family dinner this weekend and all 13 people love food! Service was also great! Next time we will have to save room for dessert!! It looked amazing!!

Entertainment honi chaiye: Absolutely amazing! The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. If you are looking for a great place to get Italian food this is it.

Fu G: The food is good, but the service is very problematic. We spent three hours eating dinner because no one here to serve us: 40 minutes waiting to order, after the appetizer, more 40 minutes for the main course, no one asked us if we wanted dessert 40 minutes after the main course. When we asked to the dessert menu, no one took it to us. In addition. The environment is too crowded, and the waiter keeps touching the guests while walking, making it uncomfortable.

Charles-Stephen Laubhouet: I went a while ago with my wife, on a late night escapade! We truly enjoyed it! The food was very good and the wine too! Turned out rich people eat there, the bill was high but the quality matched the price. I would recommend to any Italian food lover! The chef is the best

Cameron Smith: I have been coming to Ristorante La Perla and its previous location in McLean, Virginia for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Chef Testa has become a dear family friend over the years and I called ahead to let him know we were coming in for a special occasion and he pulled out all the stops to make us feel at home and like family. We started our evening with a glass of champagne and a couple of appetizers. We had oysters on the half shell and prosciutto with melon. We then had the seafood risotto and veal chop for our mains and finished the evening with chef's mouth watering tiramisu and house made limoncello. All of the food was incredibly fresh and authentic, something you can expect with each and every visit and it was an absolutely perfect night out. I highly recommend anyone who enjoys authentic Italian food to go for an unforgettable experience.

Catherine Anderson: First the food was definitely NOT worth the price, second the waiter hardly checked on us, we had to get water ourselves, dishes were average at best, two people ordered the same dish and even their pasta/sauce amounts were completely different, calamari was soggy, waiter forgot people’s dishes/sides, and was hard to work with in general. Do not go here

Tartufo Italian Restaurant: what do users think?

Jeff Walter: Tartufo is so good. It’s a low key friendly restaurant. You can’t go wrong whiling away a nice afternoon here.

Lisa Lowe: Tasty caprese salad, fresh delicious pasta dishes and tiramisu, quiet charming setting, and attentive friendly service. Definitely coming back!

Erika Hernandez: We ordered from here yesterday and the food was disgusting. The eggplant wasn’t even cooked correctly. We called and they told us they would give us credit and to callback at 6pm-6:30pm today. We called and they didn’t answer our calls and the phone just keeps ringing.

solosian: Food itself is well priced and good. Portions are a bit smaller but we were full with a salad (think European portion sizes). Service was friendly and atmosphere was relaxed. However, service was also incredibly slow. I'm not convinced that we would have been able to get out if we didn't walk to the bar ourselves to request the check after waiting around for 30 minutes after finishing the meal. I get it--every place in America has trouble hiring, but I'm providing an honest assessment if the experience. Also, so many things weren't available that were on the menu. Only 1 of the 8 listed dessert items was available. So just be prepared.

Nicolas Burch: Great relaxed ambiance and authentic cuisine! The owner was very nice and came to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Great value too!

Jennifer Mitchell: Cozy, authentic, and delicious with excellent customer service. We made our second visit tonight and were reminded why we decided to return. Calamari, salads, pastas, and desserts will not disappoint. Freshly made and perfectly portioned. Recommended and will be revisiting.

Alberto Lucini: There food is excellent. Calamari, sangiovese, chicken tartufo, and parmesan.

Alison Weiss: Sophisticated and friendly neighborhood restaurant. An elegant decor and attentive staff. Dinner here will make you feel you are dining in country. Take the time to enjoy all the courses. This is a place to go for a lovely evening with friends and family.

Marielle Hart: Wonderful experience at this cozy, warm and authentic Italian restaurant. The food and service were superb. Highly recommend the caprese salad, the pasta alla Norma and the tiramisu. Wonderful service and easy street parking.

Patrick Driscoll: I was in town visiting for work and heard about Tartufo from friends. I have to say that Abdi has created an amazing place with great ambience, tasty food, and fantastic clientele. The authentic and curated Italian cuisine was wonderful and I left a full - and sleepy - camper. Abdi knows what to order and what wine will match with definite expertise. I’ll be telling my DC friends to visit and will come back the next time I’m in town!
