Alessandra Gelmi: Best massage in town! Better than the Four Seasons where, for years, I was a regular. These operators are groomed in a 4000-5000 year old tradition that is Eastern (obviously) medically based. You can tell them what areas you need worked. I even like my face done. Feet are important to address as we walk on them constantly. I hope this place does not move. I will be crestfallen as the service done here is a maximum relaxer and energy boosting protocol.You literally feel like a new human being after a 60 minute stint. The price is very reasonable and all the masseurs are highly skilled/trained and bend over backwards (no pun intended) to please their customers according to the intensity (deep tissue for example) requested. I always request a strong massage and by the time the hour is over the masseur is sweating as if he just finished a marathon.! He earns his 30% tip!
Keri Mau: Really great deep massages. This is not for the faint of heart or the sensitive! Massage tables are all in the same room so there's no privacy and you don't take your clothes off (just jackets/sweaters and the like). Parking is horrendous as you can imagine, which made me late to my appt and they weren't able to shift my appt by ten minutes, so just be mindful of getting there on time!

Sarah Thompson: I went to Meridian a few days ago and it was excellent. Didn’t have to call ahead since I went on a weekday morning. It’s a communal space with no frills and they give you a firm Chinese massage over your clothes. I opted for the hour full body and it ended with an amazing foot massage. Came to about $50 bucks, a bargain! Since we’re in the COVID area everyone was wearing masks and I wore a mask on the face up portion of the massage.

My friend recommended I try Meridian and I was incredibly impressed. Will be returning again and again!
Sara B: This place used to be wonderful. Yeah, the quality depended on who you got, but otherwise fine. You could walk in, get a great massage, and get it at a great price. Then they started taking reservations. That was fine for a while, but now, even with a reservation, you sit and wait for long periods of time (an hour, or more). And all that wait without getting to choose your therapist. Today, I went in at the time I made a reservation, and when a guy was free, he still wouldn't work on me and waited for some other priority client who showed up 20 minutes later. Sadly, they've lost my business.
Cristal S: This is such a secret, tucked away gem for a no-frills massage. Don't expect candles or incense for this experience. You walk in and tell one of the guys chilling in the front that you want a massage. They'll take you to the back room, which has a bunch of slightly tightly packed massage tables. Other people will be enjoying their massage, so be respectful of that. They'll open a tupperware box underneath the table in which you should put your belongings. If you have any specifications, such as pressure preference or specific back location, let them know.

Lawrence hailes: My experience at Unwind Wellness Center - Adams Morgan was superb. The staff was very friendly, and as a customer, I appreciated the Covid safety protocols they had in place. My masseuse Daniel was able to get rid of all of the knots I had in my back and shoulder. He was incredibly attentive, ensuring that I was comfortable with the amount of pressure throughout the massage. One of the best massages I've gotten in DC. I highly recommend him.
Eleanor Harvey: I moved to the Adams Morgan area in September of 2020. Since then, I have become a loyal patron of Unwind Wellness, getting a massage a couple times a month. Often I will wake up sore or stressed, call the studio in bed and they will be able to see me day of, that evening. The rooms, beds and music are soothing. The therapists are consistently expert and professional. Getting a massage is expensive, but I never regret spending the money. I'm telling you, these services are worth it!! After my appointments, I float home feeling rejuvenated.
Laura Dodson: It was clean, professional, and affordable. My first experience as Unwind was not a great one. However, once the owner heard about it, he found me a better massage therapist who was better suited to my needs. I didn't even realize how much tension I was holding until she started working my muscles. Worth a visit!

Jacqueline Thiele: I had a couple massage with a friend. My friend was satisfied but I wasn't. The guy who gave the massage used very strange techniques and also putted his fingers in my ears! I am sure this and the other things were not a proper way to give a massage. Disgusting! Would definately not reccommend this place.

The online booking was so easy, I was on time and was greeted immediately and brought to my room. There was a fountain, white noise machine and music playing and it was so peaceful. Marie Borromeo: It was my first time and the place for me is cozy and clean. Mikela did great, it was like her hands has sensors that she can really determine the right spots where pressure is needed. My body ache was lightened after she perfectly hit on the frozen shoulders, back, buttocks and legs. It’s a bit pricey but worth it though.
Kaila Gilbert: This place doesn't miss! higher price point than some but offers wider (and cooler) services that are just better than just being rubbed on Swedish style. Highly recommend Trigger Point, all deep tissue practitioners, and the ashiatsu for folks with deep persistent stiffness/knots/tension. Lovely setting, be warned of stairs haha

A. Rachel: I had a 90-minute deep tissue massage with Eric, and it was the best massage I’ve had in years. The whole experience felt restorative holistically. The ambiance inside is classy but subdued, and the staff is friendly and Covid-conscious. My massage therapist, Eric, is the perfect combination of skill, kindness, and conscientiousness. I explained how I struggle with posture and carry so much stress in my neck and upper shoulders. I got a huge amount of pain relief out of the session, and my muscle knots felt like they were melting away like butter on toast. If you need especially heavy pressure, I highly recommend Eric. Also: as a woman, I greatly appreciated his emphasis on ensuring I felt safe and comfortable. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

Devon Delmonico Conley: Eric is a healer of many kinds and methods. I scheduled with him based on his bio and services he provides. I was interested in medical massage for a few muscular spots that are taking longer to heal. He is truly a sports massage guru - knows the body, how it works, and how to fix it. He explains what's working correctly and what isn't and is a wealth of knowledge. Eric's bedside manner is energetic, welcoming, and fun! He ensures a comfortable and safe experience.

Angelica Oung: I wonder who the first man or woman who came up with a hot stone massage was thinking. Well I think they were a genius. I was a weary conventioneer in DC for just 3 days, suffering from jet lag and booked a 1-hour hot stone massage with Kim. It was perhaps the best massage I've ever had in my life and I don't say that lightly haven't been to some wonderful practitioners in LA and Thailand. Kim had a very intuitive touch for just the right amount of pressure to use and the stones in her hands were skillfully worked into her massage routine seamlessly so that they provided an additional source of heat and pressure that further facilitated relaxation. My only regret was that I did not ask for a longer massage. Thank you so much Kim I do believe this massage was how I managed to get over my jet lag so quickly. I also enjoyed the ambience of the spa which of course is a part of the experience. I would describe the interior as very genteel and the accessories were tasteful with giant plants in the waiting room that brought a touch of magic to the environment. They were also quite accommodating for someone looking for a same day booking. In short whether or not you are a visitor or lucky enough to frequent here often, I give DeLuca my highest recommendation, especially in the capable hands of Kim.

jenb: I booked a 60 min sports massage with Jason. I lift 3x wk and run 2-3x wk. I was having lower back soreness. Apparently I am/was unbalanced. This was definitely one of the best sports massages that I have had to date. The space is tranquil. Overall experience - wonderful and I have already booked my next appointment with Jason.

Brian J: I can’t share the same experience as previous posts. Everyone was nice, but this was not a deep tissue massage. There was no pressure and we just got oil rubbed on us for 90 minutes. This definitely was not worth $145 ($290 in total), will not be returning and will be sure to tell others to avoid the “deep tissue” and other services.

Marsha: Beautiful Facility. Excellent staff. My massage therapist was spectacular. She (Nora) applied just the right amount of pressure where needed, listens when you need lighter pressure. Very professional. About $110.00 pp including Tip. Two things... your massage room maybe on the 2nd level...stairs and with bad knees - yikes! Parking is scarce, but its DC, therefore leave early for your appointment or rideshare.

Joanne Morrow: The staff was friendly, however 45 is the new 60 mins. I booked a 60 min couples massage and it started off with both massage therapist being friendly and asking what areas needed the most attention. Once I got on the table I felt as though I was getting a massage from an amateur. It was a little weird. I've traveled all over and have had plenty of massages and this by far was the worst massage for both of us. I'm not saying all the massage therapist at this business are inexperienced, but the 2 we had might still be training. I selected this place because of the reviews but I was so disappointed.

Catherine Killian: This was the BEST massage experience I have ever had. This was my sister's first prenatal massage and the entire team made her feel EXTREMELY comfortable. I did a Swedish massage and wish I extended my time longer than 60 minutes because they were so fantastic. Before we left, we had a chance to speak to Antonio and he was so sweet! Treated my sister and me to some goodies because we were celebrating my sister's birthday and pregnancy. We will be back here 100%!
Erika H.: Unwind is my happy place. I love this place. You can smell the calmness from just outside the door. Yes smell! Just as you open the door you are greeted with the faintly pleasant smell of the relaxing essential oils they have coming from the diffuser. You are greeted by helpful and professional staff member at the front desk that prepare you for your appointment. The inside is gorgeous!As you wait for you appointment, you are sat on the beautiful and comfy couches, to take in all the calming ambiance. The place has the softest warm lighting from the gorgeous chandeliers, to compliment all the calming creamy tones of the various furniture and decor. It has such a relaxing opulence about it, that makes you feel as though you are truly getting in your “me time” the we all need. The bathrooms are also gorgeous and always very, very clean. This place also makes for a really good gift. I’ve purchased gift certificates for a massage for friends to as as a bridal and baby shower gifts, birthdays or just give to a friend who could use some relaxation and self care. When my BFF’s fly into I always book a girls day appointment for a day at the spa here! Now down to the actual massage. The therapists here are so very good at what they do and are very professional. They always ask where you are carrying stress at, and do a really good job of addressing the area. At a minimum I come twice a month. The massage and overall experience I have here is so amazing that on my most stressful of days, I often just call and take whatever therapist that is available and I have always had a very comfortable and relaxing experience. I always come out feeling like a new woman. After my massage I am always asked if I would like any water, which I appreciate. This place is an integral part of my self care routine. I always leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and calmly recharged. It’s really worth it to take time out of the chaotic and busy lives most of us live now a days, to just Unwind.
RichhTube: Still one of my favorite places to get a massage! I’ve been here a few times and haven’t been disappointed. I recently visited on a Friday morning for a massage and to kickoff my bday weekend and I couldn’t have thought of a better way to do so! We had a couples aroma therapy massage and it was all that I needed. 90min flew by very quickly and I wish o could have done 120min lol. The essential oils are placed just in front of your face as you lay on your stomach which set the mood for me. However, after inhaling the oils for a moment, my partner & I became a bit stuffy. I thought maybe it was just me, but after my partner confirmed she was feeling stuffy as well, we noticed that it may have been the oils affecting us. I’ve had massages before without aromatherapy, and wanted to try this. I would stick to regular massages, but I don’t regret trying this one bit. I was still relaxed and plan to come back again. The parlor took note that this was how we decided to kick off our celebrations and they went above and beyond to make sure we felt appreciated and good vibes were in the air. They have def set a standard for my expectations. You can’t go wrong here. The people are friendly, management attentive, and thoughtful. Hope everyone can have a lovely experience like we did.
Lauren Blanchard: What a hidden gem! The space is gorgeous and exactly what I wanted for a spa. The massage was lovely - my mom was blown away by hers. Staff was all very nice even when we were running a little behind and a bit hectic at first. They got us calmed down and relaxed in no time. Will be back!!

Michael Ammer: My fiancé and I booked the 90 minute couples massage with Flor and Nancy N. From the moment you book, professionalism, and extremely high quality customer service is present. The moment you walk in the door, the environment wraps you in a blanket of relaxation. Low lighting, and some really elegant and beautiful decor. You are greeted immediately, and offered water. Nancy and Flor where amazing! After we left, my fiancé and I discussed that they some how managed to find our problem areas without us saying a word, and proceeded to work them out and now we both walked out feeling so relaxed and refreshed. If I could give more than 5 Stars, I would. I can say with confidence I would recommend this place to my family and friends Thank you!!!
Cristina Bastin: The massage started nice, but then halfway in the massage, they kept knocking on our door. They started arguing with my massage therapist. They made me move rooms in the middle of my massage. Gave me a robe and had me move to the room next to my room in my robe. Totally ruin the whole experience. When I got out of my massage there were plenty of rooms open with double beds that they could of used or just let us finish since we had 20 mins left. They just gave me 5 extra mins and still charge me the full price. Barley apologized. Never going back. Worst experience.
L M: I just got myself a 90 minute massage with CBD oil. I knew in the first 30 seconds that it was going to be one of the best massages of my life. Marco is a seriously talented therapist. I can’t recommend him enough. So grateful!
SB AT: Went back in November 2021, with my mother. The massage was adequate, but nothing exceptional, especially for the price point (note: this is the standard price I pay for massages, and I expect a certain quality, which I usually receive). My masseuse ignored my instructions – he had asked me if any area felt particularly stiff or painful, and I had mentioned my neck and shoulder area. He didn’t spend any more time on that compared to the rest of my body, and didn’t adjust his technique to deal with accumulated tension or pain. I also had to ask for slippers – the expectation was clearly that we would take our shoes and socks off and step directly onto the rug and floor, neither of which inspired confidence (c’mon, people, have you seen a floor under a microscope?! I’m not going to carry all those germs back into my shows). When I asked, we were told slippers could be provided, and they were, but this should be standard, and has been for all other massage parlors/spas I’ve visited. If you’re trying to cut costs, just tell me in advance, and I’ll bring my own. Also: the mask issue. This was still at the height of the pandemic, and I was very particular about only wearing N95 or K95 masks (which was later proven correct by official guidance). We were not advised beforehand that these would not fit into the headrests at the end of the message beds, and we were required to take them off and wait for simple, surgical-type masks – the only kind they provide. I was not comfortable with the level of protection these masks offered, especially since the staff wasn’t wearing N95-KN95 masks. This should be clearly communicated ahead of time, and customers should be allowed to make the choice about what risks they want to take on. Receptionist did not care about us once we had exited the massage room. I had wanted to ask a question, but was left awkwardly waiting by her desk while she chatted on the phone – you don’t know how to briefly put a conversation on hold to deal with a paying customer who is physically present at the time? I gave up, and just said “thank you, have a nice day”. There was no response, not even a gesture, like a nod, anything, and no opportunity to offer immediate feedback. Nobody asked us how our experience had been. It was like “thanks for paying, bye-bye”. I won’t be back. There are better options in the DC area, especially for this price point.

benz: Amazing services. Great Father’s Day from my wife. I received a 1 hour massage which included the back scrubs and hot stones. My masseuse, Yordonas was AMAZING. She did such a wonderful job in targeting the areas which I needed some relief. Did not feel rushed. She was super attentive and always checking if the pressure was good and how I was feeling. One of the best massages that I have received. Definitely going back for another massage with her.
Ondrej Tvarozek: Went in for a much needed deep tissue massage. I was with Ella, who was absolutely phenomenal. Really ensured to take her time in problem areas and even went a bit over time to ensure all desired areas were handled. I couldn't recommend her enough if you are looking for a specific tech. Definitely coming back.
Elizabeth Hoke: I received a 1.5 hr trigger point massage at Bluebell spa to treat debilitating sudden back pain and muscle spasms. I threw out my back on Wednesday, with symptoms peaking on Thursday evening. I booked an appointment for Friday morning and walked out a changed woman. I literally went from experiencing extreme lower back pain every time I walked, turned, or stood up to being comfortably mobile after the massage. I am so grateful for the work they did and will be returning. I did book the appointment with a female masseuse, but they gave me a male masseuse. I’m not sure why the switch happened, but it didn’t end up being a problem at all. The male masseuse I had was incredibly professional and tailored the appointment to my requests.
L Britton: Had my first prenatal massage with Ms. Almaz. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was so lovely. They have an adapter of sorts for the top of the table to accommodate your belly, and you stay on your front side the entire time. She did a fabulous job - would highly recommend!
Rachael Rund: Ms. Yordanos gave me the best deep tissue massage I've ever had! She gradually increased pressure and was attentive to pain and tickles. She incorporated stretch, weight, and heat techniques. My one hour massage felt like a two hour massage. Can't wait to come back!!
Kiana Yeganeh: The staff at Bluebell Spa DC are well-trained and professional. They gave my mother and myself a relaxing, moderately intense massage that had us both completely knocked out! We hope to visit again soon.

Sandy Ovalle: Amaaz is a great therapist! She made sure to address my concerns and took her time. You can tip by venmo or cash, which I prefer so therapists can get their money right away. The sign was not very visible so I first tipped on my debit card and then when i saw it I asked them to cancel since it seems like the payment was still processing. The receptionist assured me she cancelled the transaction. I requested a receipt for that, but she could not give it to me. I paid again since she assure me the transaction was indeed cancelled. When I reviewed my bank transactions the next day I realized I was accidentally charged twice. It took a while to get a hold of someone who could reverse that charge. But once I did, they reversed it without a problem.
Pamela Lloyd: Tonight I went to Blue Bell spa. My neck to the base of my back was in knots ,shoulder blade etc. I requested a 75 minute deep tissue massage. You can pick your masseuse, but this was my first time, so all I knew is I wanted a man! I got Marcio. I don't even know where to begin. He was kind, courteous and respectful. Before the session began he asked me what were my areas of concern. We discussed my concerns, he left the room to let me get undressed and a way we went. He periodically checked in with me to see how I was feeling. All along the way I felt great. I am typically a very chatty person; however, when I'm getting a massage I don't particularly care for a lot of conversation. I feel like he can read the room. Beyond the check-ins we didn't talk much. Perfecto! Sadly 75 minutes went just like that. At the end of the massage she asked me how it was feeling. I felt great.When I got off the table I was so relaxed, I felt super relaxed! I'm so grateful that I live within the neighborhood. Talk about a hidden gem.Bluebell, where have you been all my life? I'm so glad I have found this spa. I highly highly highly highly recommend spa and especially Marcio.

Cody Laliberte: Three stars for Revive, four stars for Sylvia. [Note: the website does not list any information about their COVID practices -- my wife was asked to wear a mask for the duration of her massage, and we both had to put our faces into paper towels laid over the face rest. The masseuses also wore gloves the entire time.] We had a couples massage and arrived to be taken right to the massage room after confirming we had an 11AM appointment. After getting onto the table, it became apparent that the room smelled old, like stale water – which makes sense because there was obvious water damage on one of the walls. I understand that we didn’t request aromatherapy, but there were no candles or any fragrances of any kind, just an old, unpleasant smell. My massage table also creaked every time any pressure was put onto my back, loud enough that my wife heard from across the room – not very relaxing for either of us. After comparing our massages, my wife realized that her table didn’t have the heating element plugged in and was cold pretty much the whole time. Once we went out to pay, we were asked what massage we booked (did we really even get the massage we paid for?) and asked to fill out some client forms, asking if we had any existing pain, etc. – things that should have obviously been asked prior to the massage. Overall, my massage was decent for the price (Sylvia did a good job on my shoulders) but it’s on the cheaper end of massages for a reason and our experience was pretty unprofessional. Won’t return.
Courtney Codina: I had a great overall experience with Revive Massage and I will definitely be returning. Scheduling my appointment was easy and I was able to get in for an appointment that same day. The front desk attendant was friendly and helpful. Tamara was my massage therapist and I thought she did an excellent job. She was skilled and professional and I would happily see her again. The facility is clean and crisp, without a lot of clutter, and their rates are competitive. Two thumbs up!
Brandon Hankey: I cannot say enough good things about Revive. I’m a busy hairstylist which means I’m on my feet for 10-12 hours a day. I have been experiencing back and shoulder problems for years. I started getting regular massages. After trying several places, I found Peter at Revive. He knows exactly what he is doing and is very professional. I highly recommend him and the 90 minute massage. I cannot wait for my next massage!
Stef Van Rensburg: I’m so glad that I decided to go to Ivo for massages. I’m addicted to massages, and am a massage therapist myself, so I have had hundreds of massages in my life. But in the last couple of months I started to go to Ivo for massages, mostly for my constant lower back pain, and I can tell you he is one of the best - if not the best massage therapists I ever had. After getting my massage from Ivo, my back felt so much better - I could not even believe how much better I felt and I could move like normal. I definitely can tell you you will not make a mistake going to him.

My massage therapist had cold hands, was super rushed, didn’t apply much pressure during a deep tissue (although I asked her to) and she kept doing the same few bad, amateur techniques on 1-2 spots of my back. It seemed like she was not paying attention and was just trying to rush as quickly as possible to be done with the day. It was disappointing because I paid a ton of money for this as it was a couples massage that was a gift. IF I go back I will definitely select a therapist mentioned in the 5 star reviews below.

ASL Interpreter John: You can't get better than this! I have been everywhere for a massage and nothing beats Peter. He is very intentional with his technique throughout the entire massage; ensuring that every move and pressure point is executed with precision. I have a lot of knots in my neck and shoulders and every time I leave feeling refreshed and loosened up. I actually got goosebumps during my massage. The massage is very relaxing and comfortable. I am a regular here and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Revive DC and Peter set a precedence for the massage experience and are very clean and professional. I would recommend Peter/Revive to everyone. Looking forward to my next appointment.
Griffin Anderson: Great shop in a convenient location. I broke my collar bone and was in an incredible amount of discomfort due to accompanying muscle tightness and swelling. Ivo was very careful to not irritate my broken bone and did a thorough job to make sure all the kinks were properly worked out. Needless to say I feel like a new man and will definitely be coming back for treatment throughout my recovery!
John Bekeny: I have been a Revive client almost from their opening. I have lower back/spine issues as well as frequent tightness in my shoulders, and whenever I start getting twinges or tightness, I make an appointment with Ivo and always come out feeling relaxed and centered again, with the twinges and discomfort gone. I have also had two massages there with Petar, and he is also an excellent masseur. He resolved in one visit some neck issues I experienced a couple of years ago. I highly recommend Revive.

My parents got me a gift certificate for my birthday, and loved this place because of all the health and safety precautions they are taking around COVID. The space is tranquil and warm. My masseuse had the most calming presence about him. I loved how much context he gave about his style and approach to massage - he was most sports therapy based so he didn't use oils and did a lot of adjustments. I had never had a massage like this and absolutely loved it! As a former dancer and regular exerciser, I didn't realize this was what I needed. Highly recommend!

Ebony Caldwell: I love this place. Finding a massage place with multiple great therapists is a hard find in the DMV, but they've mastered it. The prices are very fair. The service is great. The facility is clean and they follow all COVID protocols. They're accessible which is great for those with mobility issues. I've worked with several therapists, but my favorite w/o a doubt is Angela. She's new to the location but I've worked with her over the last 4 years and she's the GOAT. I have a lot of chronic pain and deal with muscle tightness, knots, spasms, you name it. She is very intuitive to your body and can work problem areas without discomfort. The only limiting factor for the site is parking, but it's right off of a metro line and bus line and if you get there a little early, you can find street parking nearby.

Jane Twomey: I came to Eye Street Massage Therapy because I sometimes have intense muscle/fascia pain. I thought I would try a 45 minute massage with Edmund. I stayed for an hour and made appointments on the spot to have Edmund work with me once a week for an hour. Eye Street Massage is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Edmund is a life saver. I can't say enough about how wonderful Edmund is!! My only disappointment is that I didn't find this service much, much sooner!!

Marcella Labellarte: Lunar Massage has changed my life! I’ve lived in DC for 4 years and will soon be leaving, and I don’t know if I’ll ever find a massage comparable to Shuichi’s. I have seen him multiple times and tell everyone I know that he is a massage saint and a muscle whisperer - he has performed true miracles for me. I live with chronic illness, so I always have a lot of stress, which manifests in my body in painful ways. Shuichi is able to relieve so much pain and discomfort for me, and I’m so incredibly grateful. Madeleine So: I was expecting great things from this place based on previous reviews, and I went there with my partner planning to become members. First, there is no couple massage option but that wasn't a deal breaker for us. My massage was decent, but my partner's was very lacking. His therapist didn't address the concerns and areas of tension that he brought up at the beginning of the appointment. Apparently, she may have been brand new to the practice, but I would expect a more consistent experience. Needless to say, we did not become members.
Veronica Till Goodson: My go-to spot for a massage in DC. I've seen a few different massage therapists and they've all been great. Online booking works perfectly and I've always been able to grab an appointment at a good time even last-minute. It's a cute, clean space, and the desk staff is nice. And also the price is super reasonable. If you're looking for a good massage at a convenient time and decent price, this is for you.

Jen Rubino: there are some great therapists there, in particular Kelly and Joanne. However some of the therapists literally do not listen to what you’re coming there for. I’ve wasted several sessions where this happened and it was a complete waste of money. And they’re very unsympathetic to concerns, at least in my experience. But, I highly recommend Kelly, Kate or JoAnne. They are absolutely awesome and will really help you!! I’d give them 5+ stars.
Eric Lim: I made reservation for my son because he was injured and has had pain for couple of weeks. However, he could not relexed while he had a massage because the massager was talking about his life for whole time. He could not feel any relaxation and wanted to stand up and leave the place in the middle ofmassage
Dean Danowski: I chose 1 because the owner of the business apparently decided to drop me as a client because I needed PT not massage & they couldn't help me. It is one of the most ridiculous excuses or explanations that I ever received and not an acceptable approach by a business owner to tell a client, his doctor & his PT how to manage one's health. The therapists are professional and do their job well though the owner is crazy.

We have literally served thousands of satisfied repeat customers over the that period of time. Unfortunately staff members have relayed difficult and uncomfortable interactions with you. As a business owner it is very important for me to provide a respectful and civil environment for my staff and to honor their requests if they feel like a particular client is not a good fit. I wish you the best in finding a practice that is a better fit.
Justine Weissenborn: Best massage I've ever had! Yesterday I had a 90-minute hot stone massage with Alison, the owner of Georgetown Massage and Bodywork. It was obvious from the start that Alison really knows her stuff and adjusts accordingly to meet your needs. I don't think I have ever experienced a more thoughtful and knowledgeable massage therapist. Even the word massage therapist doesn't quite feel accurate-- Alison is a true body worker! She listened attentively to my areas of concern and I left feeling totally relaxed. I look forward to going back and trying their other services.

Vanessa Ferragut: This is officially my new favorite spa. I had the CBD massage last week and it was amazing. I had a couple of weeks of sleeping poorly on my neck and Libby (AMAZING) really worked out the kinks. She was a pleasure to chat with, and this massage was both strong and targeted to my needs. I cannot wait to start making this a monthly thing. Also, parking on R street made it easy to visit Georgetown without the hassle of metered parking or pricey parking garages. That's a HUGE bonus!
Miranda: Georgetown Massage and Bodywork knows what they're good at and have perfected it. Their massages are relaxing, their office space no frills, and their therapists are helpful and kind. The first time I went my therapist mentioned circulation issues in my back, and during my second visit my therapist talked more about it and recommended future service options. She even gave me some stretches to do for lower back pain.
alexandra moran: Nancy is kind, professional and cares for my needs with genuine compassion. The space it lovely and clean and I look forward to each visit. The receptionist is super friendly and sweet. My services are always a joy and I tell all friends to try it out! After sustaining an injury, the very helpful massage therapists at Georgetown Massage and Bodyworks helped me to recovery and manage my pain. I currently visit about once a month because bodywork has become an integral part of my wellness routine, thanks to the specialized and effective care I consistently receive here!
N H: All the therapists focus on more therapeutic work and will listen to your requests and complaints. Most of them have worked there for years and the owner Alison has been in the area more then 10! Edit: New location, same great service! Right across Wisconsin from the old location, still upstairs but quite the upgrade! There are a lot of regulars so it can be hard to get an appointment sometimes but if you put yourself on the wait list you might get lucky!

Was running a few mins late so I called them and the front desk was understanding but noted that they were booked back to back. When we arrived, they didn’t make us feel rushed and was very friendly. My massage therapist was great—she adjusted appropriately and overall the massage was excellent, I felt very relaxed. The room vibe was good too, dim lit with soothing music playing—there’s also a couch to put your clothes and belongings. An added bonus is they give first time clients $10 off and you get free hot stone with your massage!

Lucia Hassell: I've been coming to Etalon for the past few months exclusively with Sarah! If you like medium to deep pressure, Sarah is the masseuse for you! I LOVE deep pressure so her technique is PERFECT for me! She also introduced me to the cupping massage which was just what my back needed. It's amazing how the cupping identifies trouble zones instantly! The facility is cozy, clean and efficient. I love that the rooms are always the perfect temperature [never to cold]. This spa is not elaborate as some other spas I've visited [no sauna, showers, or other amenities... other than tea and chocolate that is 🙂], but the services offered meet my needs and allow me to get my selfcare in afterwork without feeling like I have take off for a whole spa day. If you are looking for friendly place with great customer service, excellent massage offerings and don't need the extras.. this is the spot for you!

Kelly Blackwell: Great experience. I called to book and was provided great customer service and very flexible availability. I arrived early (30 mins not on purpose but traffic was less than I expected). I was greeted and server immediately, even after telling them there was no rush I was happy to wait. The room and whole business is extremely clean, def a must for this type of service. My therapist was so nice, he asked a few questions to make sure he fully understand my needs, then he gave me some simple instructions to get ready. He returned in the appropriate amount of time and was sure to knock before coming in. He provided the most amazing 1 hour hot stone massage. Literally head to toe bliss. He used the appropriate amount of pressure, heat, and oil. After I was done, I was given plenty of time to get dressed, use the bathroom, and get myself together. At checkout the lady was super nice and offered me snacks. I was surprised with a first time discount. I will 10000% return. I am so happy I found this gem in my backyard. Highly recommend 10/10.

I felt secure and safe - not embarrassed at all. It was so easy to book through the website and the people directing me in were very kind. The place is clean and comfortable. Maru clearly had lots of experience and I was grateful for her help. I work with backpacks and lots of standing, and I left feeling put back together, in a sense. The only issue I had was finding the place, but that was solved when I realized the business had helpfully posted a photo of the outside as a direction assistant. The man inside was able to further point me to where I needed to go. I would recommend this business and wish I had the time to go again next week.
Chelsea Montesdeoca: Rose was very nice and took care to work around my rolled ankle which I appreciated. I got a decent Swedish massage from her. The only problem is I paid for a deep tissue massage. Throughout the whole massage it just felt like no pressure was being applied to my issue areas. All of the pain points that I went in hoping to get worked out are still very painful. This place had a lot of good reviews and I’m super disappointed I didn’t have that experience. Maybe just got the wrong masseuse cause Iris seems to have many positive reviews. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t return here though.

Kathi H: I had a one hour pain relief massage and would definitely recommend it. I had terrible pain in my left shoulder and neck. It was kind of urgent as I had to be on a flight to Europe two days later and was panicking about enduring the flight with this pain. Iris, my masseuse, was incredible! Very skillful, extremely professional, friendly, and she saved the day. She used a mix of hot stones, and massage techniques to work on my knots. It was a pleasant atmosphere, and a nice, warm room. atophardie: I found Touch online, close to my office, so decided to try it. I was diagnosed sometime back with old muscle trauma in my neck and shoulders, a source of chronic discomfort. I usually seek out physiotherapists when the discomfort is unbearable, but the wait for an appointment was too long. Iris was my deep tissue technician, and she found the trouble spots and worked them over while attending to my entire spine and legs. She clearly was experienced, and her actions felt similar to that of sports physiotherapists I have used in the past. I could feel the loosening while on the table, and by the next morning my range of neck and shoulder muscle motion was normal. Iris checked in with me about my tolerance for pressure, and with consent did the job. I will be going back.

Michal Čertík: It might be a nice place, unfortunately we were not able to even schedule an appointment with a front desk. First we were told wrong information that $130 epic membership includes 2 x 90 minutes massages and more expensive $140 Family membership includes one 60 minutes massage per person for two family members. When we asked that it does not seem to be fair to families, lady said epic is only for one person. After repeating and explaining the point couple of times we gave up, as she simply did not understand the point. Only afterwards we found out from the webpage the correct information. When asked about our surname, we spelled the surname. "C-E-R-T-I-K as in Carl-Emily-Robert-Thomas-India-Kentucky". After repeating this 5 times and associate still not getting it right, we asked for somebody else. After another person came on a call, the whole process with repeating the surname went exactly the same. After hearing remarks on our accent and not getting it right after repeating the surname another 3 times, we had to hang up. We are living in US with my wife for 8 years and have been living in English speaking countries for more then 2 decades, but this has never happened to us. Not mentioning that when second associate came, the available date and time we were proposed from the first associate, were actually not available. Apart from both associates being on drugs, we do not see any other rational explanation, as otherwise it would need to involve their intelligence. Absolutely terrible experience. We scheduled an appointment in other place without any issue 10 minutes after.
Bobbi DeAnda: This place is a scam. My husband got me a Mother’s Day gift card for them and I’ve been trying to schedule since. They always say they’ll “call you back” then don’t. The gift card is for 90 mins but they “don’t have any masseuses who will do 90 mins”…so why do you sell 90 minute gift cards? Now I’m just trying to get our money back because this is ridiculous. It’s been going on like this for almost a month now. Will update this review if I get a response.
Cole Dowden: This business has a very kind and professional staff. I feel like a new man everytime I visit one of their masseuse. During my last visit RJ helped me loosen up my hip and took extra care with my lower back. He is a gifted therapist. Please ask for him if you have chronic pain or spinal problems. 5/13 update! After my session today with RJ I did not feel pain in my lower back or down my legs. I haven't been pain free even for a day in ages. If you suffer from chronic pain or have any inclination to get a massage, then go here and ask for RJ. 6/26 A perfect relaxing experience. It had been a while since my last session but RJ had me sorted out in no time.

Liang Hu: Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the location you want to stop and provide your body with a much TLC session. It's super quiet and the entire staff is great. They provide full body massage, foot massage and reflexology as well. It's recommended to call ahead of time if possible to schedule an appointment due to high volume of clientele, yet walk ins are welcomed as well. It's important to state that everyone has different tolerance levels when it comes to tissue and muscle manipulation. They will ask the amount of pressure desired to be applied and can be adjusted as needed. Also don't be scared to mention the tense spots or aches you need to get rid of and with their magic hands they will find spots you didn't know existed. You can't go wrong and highly recommend this location to all. Forever clients my wife and I.

Emily McClellan: Went to this location for foot reflexology massages and multiple times during the service we were interrupted. More than once another costumer entered the store talking extremely loud right out side of where we were getting massages and then proceeded to scream into her speaker phone with zero respect and no one working there asked her to stop. The woman working at the front desk, who is obviously not a trained masseuse, serviced one of us and got up more than 3 times to help people and the massage was under the 60 minutes we paid for. Having to pay and tip in advance would be fine if we got a service that was a reflection of the 20% tip we left.

Otniel Lopes: I made an appointment with this spa on a weekday afternoon and the staff were nice - that's the only positive thing I can say about this spa. My masseuse used her elbows for 95% of the massage and it was extremely hard, vigorous and painful. I politely asked her several times to reduce the amount of pressure because it was hurting me and she continued applying the same amount of pressure. I'm 6'3 245 and enjoy a deep tissue massage, but this wasn't enjoyable at all. I left the spa feeling more tense and sore. The prices are reasonable considering the location, but do yourself a favor and pay an extra $25-30 for a better masseuse - one that will at least listen to their customers requests!

Tonecia Porter: As part of a weekend getaway for my husband I, I decided to purchase a Groupon deal for this place. I ended up having to reschedule our original appointment, when I called to reschedule I sensed an attitude from the owner (I believe she’s the owner) she sighed when she finally realized I was calling to reschedule. Once I confirmed our new appointment she said “no more changes right? You’re coming this time?” I laughed and yes we plan to be there. I almost cancelled because of her rude and unprofessional comment but I decided to keep the appointment. When we arrived I wasn’t exactly thrilled with place but it was clean; I had to keep in mind we were in the heart of DC. While I’ve had numerous massages in my lifetime, it was my husband’s very first. We opted for a couples massage, so they slid the curtain back used to divide the room. A gentleman by the name of Jack worked on me and a female worked on my husband. What I thought was going to be the worst massage ever ended up being the BEST I’ve ever had. He started out massaging with a towel covering my body, meaning he massaged through the towel (no skin on skin). That was a first for me so i was a little taken aback. After maybe 10 minutes with the towel the real massage began. Jack was absolutely phenomenal!! He worked EVERY muscle in my body, even muscles I didn’t realize I had 😂. I like deep tissue massages and almost had to tell him to lighten up. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his massage as well. I read the other comments and we had no issues with being harassed for tips. We left a tip on our credit card and went on our merry way. WE WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK!

Amanda Reed: I would not recommend this business. The massage felt more like just rubbing and applying lotion. I asked for more pressure and to target specific areas, which made it slightly better, but not at all worth the cost. I actually left feeling more stiff in certain areas than when I came in. The environment was clean and relaxing and staff were nice.

My amazing acupuncture sessions, healing reiki sessions, and mindful nutritional guidance, all have been beneficial to my well being. And even now during the pandemic, they take such care to make you feel comfortable, safe and get the treatment you need. Highly recommend this oasis in the city. Also purple is my favorite color.

She was exactly right!!! Frances is the best accupuncturists that I have ever come in contact with and the physical environment is exquisitely decorated. I would also like to add that Lavender Retreat is very serious about COVID safety procedures. The COVID test results of all staff members are on display in the main hallway. I have reccommended this place to several people and I will be giving my mother a giftcard for Christmas.
Ashley Gwizdala: I have been getting regular massages at The Lavender Retreat for over a year. The facility has always been extremely clean and now they are doing an excellent job with COVID. Your temp is taken when you arrive, your given hand sanitizer and a sanitized pair of sandals. Everyone is wearing a mask and you are required to wear one when you are face up during the massage. I’ve been seeing Mr. Chu (Jason) for deep tissue therapy and he is fantastic! He’s able to work an area really well without causing much discomfort. He also stretches me out and taught me some stretches to do at home. I have seen other therapist who were fabulous and even received acupuncture. Lavender Retreat truly cares about whole body wellness.
Ashley Hansen: Welcoming, peaceful and clean! Lavender Retreat is an amazing addition to the hill. I've been to other spots, but nothing compares to the relaxing atmosphere and it even smells like lavender. I've been going for over 2 years and can say that all the massage therapists are talented and attentive to what you need. I book with whomever fits my schedule including Linda, Bonnie and Stephen. After one session you'll want to go back! I typically buy the 5 pack to save a bit of money per massage. They've recently started selling Lavender products and even have another service that makes custom dress shirts and suits called Book A Tailor. The suits are very reasonable.
Karim Sylla: After tearing my right labrum while pushing for personal bench pressing records, my power-lifting hobby was seriously compromised. While the prognostic for the injury was an eventual full recovery, I kept lifting as much as I possibly could, and as a result, lived in self-inflicted pain for much longer than I should have. The therapeutic massage sessions I had at Lavender Retreat were hands-down the best massages I have ever received, and I partially credit them for my recovery. Given my diminished range of motion and intense pain caused by moving my arm in certain axes, I am amazed at the skill my massage therapist demonstrated. I strongly recommend this establishment to any fellow weightlifter and, come to think of it, anyone in need of massage therapy.
Ryan Linthicum: I went here on my birthday and had a lovely relaxing time. Everything smelled like lavender. The rooms were very professional and clean. Loved that all the products they sold were locally made too! My only complaint was my massage felt rushed. Everyone has a bad days sometimes. I think I’ll still come back though!
Katie Campbell-Morrison: I did their integrated package and it was a fantastic experience, well worth your money. With the integrated package, I got 5 weeks of acupuncture as well as at least one visit with every other member of the staff and I don't have a single complaint. I in fact, went back for another round of acupuncture after my package expired and plan to book another massage. Everyone there was very respectful, knowledgeable and calming. The energy of the retreat is very relaxing and centering. They really take your whole being into account and help to heal your mind body and spirit. They have been very helpful on my journey to heal from a traumatic experience and allowing my self to relax, unwind, detoxify and recenter my energy. In the words of Donna Meagle "TREAT YO SELF!"
Sam Goldgeier: I haven't actually been but I had 2 gift certificates that expired during covid. I was very disheartened to hear that they were not going to let me use them, and only after some back-and-forth decided to only let me use part of one of them.

Megan O: My sister booked a 90-minute massage for us as an early Christmas gift. I do NOT like to be touched, and a massage is something that I would never book for myself, but I know how beneficial they are and appreciate how I feel afterward. My masseuse (did not get his name) was professional and attentive, focusing on my upper body per my request as I carry a lot of tension in my shoulders and neck. Afterward I felt much more relaxed, and like a lot of tension had been lifted from my shoulders, literally and figuratively! Very grateful for a wonderful experience here, and would recommend this spa to anyone looking to unwind :)

Kathy G.: Not too bad but I wouldn’t run to book something. The location of the “spa” requires guests walk through the gym, in a robe, in slippers…..there wasn’t much privacy at all. And there were men sitting around the spa area, so it’s not separated by gender - and I wasn’t comfortable being in that area with just a robe on. This is the Logan circle location staff was nice, a little unknowledgeable about how to get around….it is also very clean. But it’s just not an ideal spa experience in any fashion.
Caroline Kyungae Smith: When I first came to see Beatriz Gutierrez, my skin was so bad, I thought I needed to go to a dermatologist. I suffer from hormonal and cyctic acne. Bea worked diligently with me for weeks to clear up my skin to a more manageable state, recommending I do a peel once a week. Now, our focus together is clearing up the pigmentation from all the acne I used to have. Additionally, Bea is extremely kind and accommodating. There have been several times where she worked hard to squeeze me into her hectic schedule. She also understood when scheduling issues came up on my end. It's safe to say working with Bea has been a life-changer for me and my skin. My only regret is that I didn't take before and after pics to show you the magic she worked.

Jerry Rich: I was in DC for vacation and did a lot of sightseeing. My calfs and feet became very sore. So I looked for a place near my hotel to get a massage. Luckily I found the Aura spa and massage, Stephen did a excellent job on my legs and feet. This is one of the best massages I have ever received. Highly recommend!!!
Lauren: Had one of the best massages ever with Verneal! She worked out every knot in my shoulders and had such a great technique that was gentle yet got in there to release the tension. The spa itself is nothing special - it's inside the gym, and you have to go through the lobby and use the gym locker room to get changed and put a robe on. A little awkward walking back through the gym in my robe, but I'll take it for the quality of the massage! They should tell you to bring a bathing suit for the steam room, it's unisex, so I wasn't able take advantage of that :( Thank you Verneal, I will be back!!!

Tara Fries: This spa experience was unreal, in the best way possible. Arguably the best massage of my life! My husband and I went in for a couples massage for my birthday and it was a lovely experience. The spa itself is really nice but also the people working there and the massage therapists were both professional and nice. The massage therapists gave us a run down of the experience and asked us if we had any specific preferences prior to starting. We also got champagne following our massage experience! highly recommend
Erika Walker: Booked a girls spa day with friends. We were all delighted with our services and left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. My two friends had massages with 2 different therapists which exceeded their expectations. I had the body scrub and I'm still marveling at how soft my skin feels thanks to Tina! No corners were cut and everyone went above and beyond despite us arriving a little late. The booking process was also very easy and I have a new friend in Ms. Dara who was so friendly and eager to ensure all of our needs were met.
Kelsey Sheehy: First time visiting The Spa at Hotel Washington. Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. Small but clean and well-stocked locker room w/ a steam room. The relaxation lounge is tiny, though, and not really set up for lounging or relaxing. My treatment, a 60-minute facial w/ Soraya was wonderful.

Susan: As a long time Bliss client, I was very disappointed and mildy shocked to hear that they have rebranded, since I only get my nails done with Duc. I'm beyond relieved that he's still there! Not really a fan of the much smaller nail area but I just go there for Duc anyway. He is just the best. Go see him, you won't be disappointed.

She did a great job of explaining my options for add-ons (deep tissue, aromatherapy, etc.) and was so soothing throughout the massage experience. She applied a TON of pressure, which I needed, and I feel so much better now. I will definitely be back.
Morgan Williams: The reason I gave this spa a 4 rather than a 5 is for lack of communication. I was a new customer at this spa and signed up for a Fab Facial. I knew that a consultation came with the facial and that they may make some recommendations. The issue that I had was the technician (I think it was Valyntena) did not clarify what portion of the actual treatment was included in the package and what would be extra. I felt misled when I got to the counter and my bill had DOUBLED due to the extra treatments she had done. I didn’t feel like I had the option to choose what I was comfortable paying for versus what I would have left out. The treatment itself was amazing. My face felt and looked great afterward. I just wish my technician had been clearer. My only advice is before they start on the facial would be to clarify what is included in your package and what will cost extra. Not all the technicians will tell you if you do not ask.
Sophie: I am very disappointed in my experience. I planned a spa day for my mom as a gift and had pre-selected the services we would receive. When I went to pay, the bill had DOUBLED because the esthetician who did my mom’s facial had changed the facial I had scheduled and added additional enhancements. She did not inform her that the price would be different. What should have been a relaxing day with my mom turned into me feeling taken advantage of.
Erica: Bliss Spa DC is the BEST!!! I’m always greeted with a smile & pleasantries at the front desk. Christina is AMAZING...extremely professional & very fun. I look forward to seeing her EVERY visit. Went this pass weekend & had a Blissage 75 with Leo...what a great experience. I will definitely be scheduling regular massages in the future. You won’t regret visiting this great spa.

Gabe Seiden: Excellent massage. Low price. Extremely convenient. Deep tissue, acupressure, reflexology. Massage is similar to what you might get if you go to Spa World. In my experience, a good masseuse can read your body and understand exactly what you need, and that's exactly what I got at Total Release Reflexology. Highly recommend and will return as soon as I can myself.
Rebecca Sturm: I have been going here for years and keep coming back. I have had all of the massage therapists and they are all great. If you can handle a stronger massage, request the man (he’s usually who I get). The prices are reasonable and is the perfect stress and tension reliever. Highly recommend!

Elissa Carney: Very skilled practitioners. I had a wonderful experience including 30 min. of reflexology and 30 min. of acupressure massage. Acupressure massage targets neck, shoulders, and back - if you hold tension in any of these places, you will benefit greatly from this type of massage. I highly recommend and will be going back again!
Lori McGrogan: I am frequent customer of Mr. Wei and can't say enough good things. He is skilled in both reflexology and massage/acupressure and is very strong. For those who like a less strenuous massage, both of the female massage therapists are great (not for me, but my mom loves them). The spa is peaceful and clean. The price is very affordable.
Brionne Griffin: This place is easy to overlook with all the other places to visit and things to do in Chevy Chase, but your body will love you if you make the effort to seek out a massage from Total Release. You walk in the door to a tranquil waiting room that offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The staff is incredibly nice, and will explain everything to you if it's your first visit. I had 30 minutes of reflexology, and 30 minutes acupressure. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and will absolutely return.
Erica Pishko Carlsson: They had a quick set-up for a last minute appointment, but the therapist I got could not speak English and unfortunately, I was unable to communicate my needs during the massage. Also, she removed my underwear without asking and did not close the door all the way even when there was a man outside. Also, inside the room it said, “no special services” on the door... Nuff said.
Brandon Ragland: I've been going here for years. Excellent service. They're open 7 days a week and not hard to schedule an appointment. Just make sure you arrive at least 15 min before your appointment because of parking.

Christine Tamir: I LOVED my massage with Bill at Paris Alexander Day Spa a few months back! The spa is so relaxing and cozy. But my favorite part of the experience was working with Bill. He is the best masseuse I've ever worked with. Before the massage, Bill and I sat down and he asked about my goals for the massage, where I felt pain, which muscle groups I'd like to get extra work on, etc. The sit-down was maybe 5 minutes but it made all the difference in making me feel more comfortable during the whole massage experience. The massage itself was amazing. I was incredibly relaxed for days afterward. COVID-wise, I felt very safe. The staff was masked and Bill made sure to ask about my COVID comfort level, which I really appreciated. 5/5 stars for sure. I'll be back as soon as I can!
