Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry DC: what do users think?

LETICIA DE CASSIA LOPEZ FARIA: I had the pleasure to have Alexis Harris as my supervisor for the last couple of years. She is a phenomenal clinician! She is an empathetic and thoughtful listener. She always emphasized the client-centered care and helped people discovering their strengths in life. Her attentiveness and professionalism are noticeable.
Response: Hi Leticia, thank you so much for the kind review and recommendation about Alexis! We truly appreciate you taking the time to leave us feedback.

Jeffrey Rascoe: My counselor Alexis H. was BEYOND excellent!!! See really took the time to listen to not only my current issues/concerns but also this that I have experienced in the past. She worked with me on my goal planning and the steps to attain those goals. I am so glad that I came in contact with her. I feel renewed and refocused!!!
Response: Jeffrey, thank you so much for the kind words and recommendation about Alexis. We truly appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review!

Morganne Brownlee: Alexis have a a GREAT therapist. She is attentive and very skilled in her clinical approach. She is able to use her skills to engage her clients in a way that makes them feel most comfortable and most valued. I highly recommend her for her expertise.
Response: Hi Morganne, we truly appreciate you taking the time to leave a recommendation for Alexis. We absolutely agree with you, they are great!

Christopher Chaulk: Brandan Vazquez is a fantastic counselor. He's helped me so much by being a terrific listener, providing me with constructive feedback, establishing a great rapport so that I can trust him and feel comfortable being open and honest with him, and holding me accountable so that I take steps to achieve my goals, grow, and improve. I'm very grateful for the opportunity I've had to work with him.
Response: Christopher, we truly appreciate the kind words about Brendan! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a nice and detailed review. We agree, Brendan is wonderful.

Theo Beckles: Excellent Excellence! Alexis is an amazing, attentive and patient therapist who makes you feel safe when getting to the heart of whats really going on in life..
Response: Hi Theo, we truly appreciate you taking the time to leave a recommendation for Alexis. We absolutely agree with you, they are great!

Tiara Fennell: If it were possible, I would give 10 stars! Ieisha Dale is a phenomenal therapist and a great addition to the Thriveworks team. As a former colleague, her strengths lie in her ability to assess and track sequences, her open and non-judgemental approach with her clients and overall investment in her clients improvement. Anyone who works with her, as a client or colleague, will have the opportunity to see these strengths and more at Thriveworks.
Response: Tiara, your kind words about Ieisha are much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful comment!

Taylor Pettway: I’m so excited that Ieisha Dale will be joining the team at Thriveworks! As a former co-therapist and colleague, Ieisha brings her curiosity, authenticity, and systemic lens to every team and to every client. Her attention to cultural concerns and her ability to build resources and relationships provides a holistic support for individuals, children, and families. With her thoroughness and professionalism at the helm, she provides tangible opportunities for change and a validating experience for all in her sphere of influence.
Response: Taylor, thank you so much for the kind words and recommendation about Ieisha. We truly appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review!

Sarah M: After having worked with multiple counselors over the past two years, and struggling to find a good fit, I am so pleased to be working with the highly regarded Dr. Regina Lawson. Dr. Lawson is not only a brilliant clinician, but also a thoughtful listener and counselor. In particular, I appreciate Dr. Lawson's expertise in providing tools and expert insight to ensure that our sessions are productive, and that after a session I walk away knowing I have tools in my arsenal to ensure success. I have found that many counselors serve as listeners, but do not help navigate or provide the necessary tools to facilitate continued personal development. Dr. Lawson is also thoughtful and kind, but cares about the progress of her clients towards their personal goals, something I value a lot. Dr. Lawson offers both counseling to address mental health and career support. I am endlessly grateful for the work we have done so far over the past 6 months, and look forward to learning new tools to continue on my journey if self growth. Additionally, Thriveworks provides an essential and easily accessible counseling service for the D.C. metro area, which is particularly critical in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. They offer a range of accessible tele-counceling services that allow me to continue receiving services remotely.
Response: Hi Sarah, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We absolutely agree with you, Regina is fantastic.

Tanya Vasunia: I give five stars to Nitika Gupta, a highly skilled therapist. I know her in the capacity of colleague and have found her knowledge and insight invaluable to my practice. Nitika is a dedicated and well-informed therapist who brings compassion and mindfulness into each of her sessions. Her eclectic approach allows her to expertly navigate therapy session while being sensitive and informative. Nitika has the ability to navigate cultural nuances and complex issues such as race and gender with the compassion and patience it deserves. I highly recommend seeking her expertise.
Response: Hi Tanya, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We absolutely agree with you, Nitika is fantastic.

Romanus07: Just wanted to leave this review for Brandan Vazquez. He’s good at what he does and an easy person to talk to. I’ve been through 3 therapists in the past 2 years (mostly due to the pandemic) and I can finally say I’ ve found one that really understand my situation and background , highly recommend!! Especially any black males looking for someone who looks like them and can relate.
Response: Hey there, your kind words about Brandan are much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful comment!

The Ross Center: what do users think?

lorie d: The Ross Center's Medical Director, Dr. Beth Salcedo is amazing! She is kind, compassionate, and takes time to understand the needs of her patients. She takes a holistic approach to treating anxiety which I have really appreciated. I highly recommend her!
Response: Thank you for your kind words!

Robert Scott: How can you get good adolescent care virtually when everyone can go to the movies, hair salons and all the other activities, but a simple in- person program or seeing a psychologist is off limits because of the excuse of a pandemic. Is the psychologist and therapist too good to not meet in-person when all of us are working back at work? We all need to be loud and tell our mental health professionals that we are not going to take virtual as an option anymore. This company just cares for the ole mighty dollar and they think that they can give adolescent mental health effectively virtually as our children keep falling apart. This is ridiculous and unprofessional.
Response: We are working on our reopening plan, being mindful of the various health needs and concerns of our staff while also following the guidance of our regulatory organizations such as APA. We hope to be able to offer in person treatment very soon.

Brianna Scott: Yikes! Leaving my review with the same thing I said in my e-mail: "Good afternoon, I just called the Ross Center and not sure who I spoke to but...it's clear that you all as a company do not want to help people. I called simply stating that I received a voicemail over the weekend, I was inquiring about being a new patient for medication management, and was just met with..."okay." I tried to give the person the benefit of the doubt but they clearly had an attitude. This is my first impression of this company so...despite the fact that maybe the doctors who work here might be good...I don't really want to deal with receptionists who are annoyed at the fact that their literal job is to get new patients signed up. It's already super hard to get mental health help, and it's also a lot to build up the courage to ask in the first place. Does this matter to any of you all? No. But, you all should be wise to train folks answering the phones to just treat people with respect. If the person was confused by what I was asking, they could have simply just said, "Yeah, we can help with that. Who exactly left you a voicemail over the weekend?" It's really that simple. Thank you and have a great rest of your week." It's probably going to be quite rough finding anyone in the city to help with medication management. But I'd kind of rather go without medication at all than being treated shittily by literally anyone in the healthcare system.
Response: This is certainly not the experience we want you to have, and not what we expect of our administrative staff. We apologize that you were treated this way. We will investigate this and deal with it immediately. If you have not yet been able to get an appointment with a different psychiatrist, feel free to leave a message for our medical director at 202-363-1010 x 114 and she will make sure your inquiry gets handled immediately and comfortably for you.

Rachel Wise: When my teenage daughter was experiencing some anxiety, I called the Ross Center and she was scheduled the next day for an evaluation. The entire process was smooth and efficient. The professionals on staff worked with us to figure out the best treatment options. My daughter had an extremely positive experience at The Ross Center. I highly recommend the Ross Center.

N A: I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Melissa Monson. She is extremely reliable and is the only psychiatrist I have ever felt like I got very comprehensive care from consistently. Ross Center is very expensive. I have been a patient off and on for many years, but I have never felt like I didn't get what I paid for here.

Sheryl Aaron: I've had the pleasure of collaborating with a number of therapists and psychiatrists at The Ross Center, and I have the utmost respect for their team. When referring clients to this practice, I know they'll get some of the most consistently skilled and compassionate treatment available in the D.C. area.

Jill Jacobs: Unprofessional, discriminatory, argumentative, and poorly informed. I tried to make an appointment here, and made it very clear that I am willing to pay cash -not use insurance at all - but was told that because my insurance is Tricare, they will not see me. Repeatedly I explained that I have no intention of using insurance nor filing with insurance after the fact, I simply want to get therapy and pay for it myself. In fact, I explained I would be willing to sign a document to that effect or write a letter and have it notarized declaring this. Regardless, I was told that they will NOT see any person who has Tricare, Medicaid, or Medicare, period... This place does not file or accept any kind of insurance at all; they only accept out of pocket payments. Yet they will not take my money, will not even tell me their fees because... Why...? I happen to have a past association association with the military...? This is not only discriminatory, but bad business practice, in general. I would give zero stars if I could.

Kiki Boots: Honestly feels like a scam. Our family has dealt with many, many clinicians over the years and this is the first time that, on intake, they told us there wouldn't be a good fit and to go elsewhere. And this is for pretty run-of-the-mill needs. I would avoid, unless you want to be charged hundreds of dollars for nothing.
Response: Hi there- We would be happy to discuss this with you and see if we can work something out. That does not sound right, and is not typically how we operate. Please give our medical director, Dr. Salcedo, a call at 202-363-1010 x 114 so you can set up a time to talk about this and we can make this right. Thank you.

Brad Brenner, Ph.D.: I've known Dr. Beth Salcedo for years and she's a warm, thoughtful expert. She and her colleauges at the Ross Center are some of best in the Washington DC.

Laura Webb: The Ross Center has been an extraordinary resource for me. Because of them, I’ve found exactly the right treatment to manage my anxiety, and I’m so grateful.

Therapeutic Links Behavioral Health Services: what do users think?

Tammie D. Martin: Therapeutic Links Behavioral Health Services is a top-notch mental health practice. I have known the owner Florian Portis for many years, and she is an outstanding person, therapist, and leader. Her team provides evidenced-based therapy to diverse clients with compassion, understanding, and the highest ethical principles. If you or a loved one is struggling in any way, you will find the help you need here!

Andrea Dresser: Therapeutic Links Behavioral Health Services provides compassionate, quality care. Ms. Florian Portis is dedicated to quality care of clients as well as staff.

Katharine G: The entire scheduling process with Therapeutic Links was frustrating. I was not sent the Telehealth information for 3 intake appointments. Yes, I had to schedule 3 intake appointments due to incorrect recording of my contact information, rescheduling, and lack of sending me dial in details. The administrative team also rescheduled me with a different therapist than the one I had requested without communicating that change to me. I found their communication and scheduling to be careless and inappropriate, if not harmful for a mental health clinic.
Response: Thank you for this message. The main goal for our entire staff at Therapeutic Links is to provide a place of healing and hope for our community. Hearing and understanding ALL feedback guides us to help our community even more - and for that, we are truly grateful. It is disheartening to hear that you had a poor experience at our practice. I'm sorry about the understandable frustration that this can create. I will investigate this issue further and address accordingly.

Leigh Zamzow: My therapist has really helped me overcome my anxiety, I am so grateful to have found Therapeutic Links and finally feel like myself again!

Clinical Psychology Services PC: what do users think?

Aldrich Family: Dr. Wagner is simply the best therapist I have ever met. When I meet her, I feel like I am getting 1 on 1 instruction on how to manage my anxiety. She is incredibly skilled at challenging my thoughts and helping me see the world more realistically. She is incredibly compassionate and personable to boot. I am so thankful to have been connected with her.

Veronica Wesley: ***WARNING*** Do not seek services here if you are in dare need. The front desk service is the equivalent of having nuckle dragging imbeciles scheduling your appointments. I have given this service and it's doctor's two tries...the first "doctor" cared nothing about treatment but about what insurance he would prefer I use. He would keep referencing methods that I have tried and even when I told him I didn't want to revisit those methods he kept pushing. By the fourth appointment where he acted like I was there to listen to his woes, I called it a wrap and cancelled further appointments. The second doctor sounded wonderful and stated she could help me. The front desk scheduled a battery of appointments and when I asked for a copy of the appointments they said I would be contacted with reminders. I heard nothing and called repeatly playing Russian Roulette phone tag trying to get someone to answer the phone because they have a problem returning calls if a message is left. I finally get someone who picks up the phone only to tell me all appointments for me where cancelled for not showing and I had to state that I called repeatedly to get my appointments with no luck. I was patched through to the doctor and she scheduled me to come in and workout a new schedule. I show up and the front desk says no you are not scheduled. They then have the nerve to try and reschedule at a later date like I would deal with their incompetence again. Also, check your billing statement with your insurance agency to make sure they don't pull a switch up and try to use you secondary insurance as your primary insurance.

Washington Psychological Wellness: what do users think?

Laender Manzano: Things have been wonderful with Mr. Brandon Jackson, LMSW. From a 1 to 5 I'd give Mr. Brandon Jackson a 10. He's been extremely wonderful with me. From communication to flexibility he's been awesome. He is well aware of what we discussed the week before which shows his attentiveness during our sessions. Lastly, I wanted to give a shout-out to Danielle W. She assisted me throughout my entire intake process. She was definitely awesome.

Eunice Oh: The team is super supportive and kind, and I feel very comfortable speaking with the staff. I'm grateful to be working with their therapists. It's such a welcoming environment! Thank you for all that you do! :)

Carla L: I love my discussions and or let’s say my experiences with Jonathan- he is the best to talk to. I have learned so much from him and our talks are meaningful and insightful. He is a treasure to work with, and so much more. Truly a diamond in the rough and happy that I found him!!

Brian Medina: I am deeply disappointed with the Washington Psych Wellness intake process. I was referred their way from a highly regarded therapist who was full with clients. Upon communicating with the WPW team, it took a few days for a response but I was patient given the time of year and just general understanding that therapists are in high demand. Once communication happened, I was emailed a list of potential available therapists to choose from who had open times. I wasn't allowed to talk to the therapists, but just work through the admin staff to figure out next steps. From there, I was directed to complete (no exaggeration) 4 consent forms and about 10 pages of history and survey questions. I was not permitted to have a free, short consultation as was the case with other potential therapists. Instead, I had to provide my insurance, credit card, and more up front before ever talking to someone to even see if I wanted to have them as a therapist. I went through all of this mostly because I wanted to compare with another therapists who I had already had a 15 minute consultation and just didn't want to rush to a decision. Today, I received a text saying that WPW were going to have to reschedule my first appointment for this evening, trying to get me to meet with the therapist at 7pm on Friday.... um, no. Beyond the last minute request to reschedule, I had already informed them that I wasn't available on Fridays given my work and volunteer schedule, so they clearly weren't paying attention. While I am sure their therapists are fine, I could never recommend this agency given the experience I had even before starting a session. Update: After 2 very positive conversations with Dr. Leda Kaveh, I wanted to indicate that the team will be continuing to review their practices to reduce barriers for potential clients and to also invite feedback (anonymous or named). I encourage potential clients to review the paperwork, disclosures, financial requirements, and other administrative aspects of an intake. Every organization is different and some lean more into legal protections, some more into comfort, and most are in between.

Katie Waller: I have had a great experience with this clinic. After searching for the right therapist for a long time, I have finally found one that I really like, and I have been showing a lot of progress! Love this company and am so grateful for it.

Rachel Ghaman: Dr. Kaveh is an exceptionally bright and profoundly compassionate professional; she cares deeply about her patients. As empathetic as she is accepting and as real as she is easy to talk to, Dr. Kaveh is as down to earth as they come. The patients of mine that I’ve sent her way, have been quick to return with praise, glowing with adoration for the support they’ve received regardless of the difficulty they are growing through. Without reservation, I proudly refer my patients to Dr. Kaveh. I know they will be in good hands and find the help they deserve.

Madeline McHugh: Wonderful team, scheduling is easy and patient portal is very straightforward. I have recommended this practice to friends and family who also have nothing but positive things to say! Dr. Kaveh is one of the only therapists I've had that I have felt comfortable talking to and working through things with.

Ava Stanton: Dr Kaveh is a wonderful psychologist she listens very well and cares for all her patients. I would recommend her to anyone all ages she has a sparkling personality and makes people feel welcomed in her space. She’s a beautiful person on the inside and outside shes a very nice person and her team as well. :)

An Ro: I cannot say enough positive things about Washington Psychological Wellness. Dr. Kaveh and her team exemplify all things that a psychotherapy and counseling center should: they are warm, welcoming, professional, competent, and efficient. It was obvious from the very beginning that Dr. Kaveh has an incredible command of not only the field of psychology, but also of how to run a successful counseling center. She’s put together an ideal environment for someone seeking therapy. Highly recommend!

James Bennet: I am very pleased with the services provided by Washington Psychological Wellness. My wife, myself and two kids have sought therapy at the center and we cannot thank Dr. Kaveh and her team enough. Highly recommended!

Psychiatric Institute of Washington: what do users think?

Andrea: Grateful for this place to exist. I came in as a walk in off the street because I needed help that minute. It was experience here that the vast majority of the staff went above and beyond in every way they could think of to make myself as a patient comfortable and cared for. The minute I walked into admissions I felt cared for and that I did not have to handle it alone any more. Shout out to Hazel for seeing what I needed and giving me her own water bottle when I had not had anything to eat or drink till I walked in. Margo who did my intake interview was so amazingly sympathetic to what I had been going through. It felt so good to be validated. Then I went up to unit 7 and met Gary who I would later see be a phenomenal caretaker for all my fellow patients on the unit. From keeping calm when someone displayed extreme behavior to joking and finding ways to give us a therapeutic experience. The taker for me was when my roommate had a panic attack and I asked for ice to help calm her. He could not give me the packs they had for safety reasons but he came up with a wonderful solution. Showing again that true passion and care for our wellbeing. Thank you all for the work you do everyday.
Response: Thank you for your kind words, Andrea! Shout-outs like this are so meaningful to our team and we will be sure to pass your comments along. Thank you again and take care!

Aliyah Boyce: I will never send my loved one to this facility ever again. Please do not send your loved ones here. Worst than prison. Staff is rude and disrespectful even management of the program. This place is terrible. Violates every protocol because they can get away with it. The state should shut this place down immediately! If I can rate 0 stars I would. This is a inhumane treatment center. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!!!
Response: Hi, Aliyah. Thank you for your feedback. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your concerns. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/. We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you again.

We Need Answers: This is the worst hospital facility ever, with providing patients with the wrong medication and diagnosis, had no idea clothes were needed my loved one has been there for 1 week and I was told due to COVID outside persons will not be permitted, in addition a complaint was filed with the medical director both Alexus Obeck and Autumn Carlson which both failed to respond in a timely manner to address concerns of miss diagnosis and re evaluation. My loved one who suffers from mental illness called from a cell phone from the facility, begging to be picked up to be treated elsewhere while you hear the verbal abuse deflected from staff members to patients. It has been 4 days with no response. The staff is negligent and displays unconstitutional acts regarding patients and their well-being. DONT SEND YOUR FRIENDS OR FAMILY HERE. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, they contradict every word they say. We can't even trust the people appointed to care for persons with mental illness due to a lack of compassion for our community.

Sandra Jacinto: If your loved one is admitted here, you won’t be able to communicate with them. My brother was admitted three days ago and I’ve yet to hear anything. In the times that I’ve called I’ve experienced the following: - straight to voicemail - operator says they don’t know the unit number and won’t be able to figure it out - being transferred to a dead end - person says they’ll take my number then immediately hangs up on me - first time I called they told me that his sister already called that morning. False. I’m his only sister and I never called before. I was successful in giving my name and number once and ANOTHER PATIENT CALLED ME BACK. They gave my number to the wrong patient. This is a psychiatric institute. You’d think they’d be careful with who they give messages to for obvious reasons. Clearly they didn’t vet if that patient knows me. I know that there are some good staff members there but the majority of them don’t care and shouldn’t be in this job. There are horror stories about this place how they let patients freely walk around and get in fights. It’s scary that he’s in there and can’t be reached. I don’t trust this place at all.
Response: Hi, Sandra. Thank you for reaching out to us. We would like to take the opportunity to address your concerns with you directly. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/ so that we can follow up with you. Thank you again and we hope to hear from you soon.

Kyrah Ford: Zero stars don’t recommend, this place was very unhelpful and mad things worst. Some of the male staff was just creeps and was doing inappropriate things! I highly encourage you to never send anyone to this hospital. worst experience ever!

Mason Mailloux: If I could rate this institution 0 stars I would. Some of the staff are genuine good people but about 80% of them don’t seem to care at all about the “patients” when it’s really just a scam for insurance and Medicaid. There is no security however there are physical fights every day. They hardly feed you and when they do it’s worse than jail food, The group therapy is a joke 45min out of the 24 sleepless hours in a day. No one in their right mind would ever want to get admitted here.
Response: Hi, Mason. Thank you for your feedback. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your concerns. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/. We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you again.

Jessica Fullington: If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction and/or mental health, this is an EXCELLENT place to receive help. The staff is truly exceptional and very compassionate! I was in TERRIBLE condition when I was brought to the facility. The expert level care that I received made it possible for me to return to my normal life in just one week. They even made sure that I had a solid plan to continue my care once I was discharged. I would urge ANYONE who is looking for this type of assistance to go to this wonderful place. Hopefully, I will never need them again. God bless
Response: Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Jessica! We are so glad that you found our staff to be supportive and friendly. We appreciate the kind words and we hope you are doing well!

Kaden Burchett: if i need a psych hospitalization again, i'm specifically requesting NOT to go here. the staff either didn't notice or didn't care that i didn't eat anything for the four days i was there. another patient (who i believe to have been developmentally disabled) frequently entered other patient rooms and even went through my belongings, and the staff responded to these incidents by yelling at him; they never took any actions to prevent him from doing these things. there were bugs in my room and it was never investigated when i told the staff; i was simply labeled as psychotic. there were no groups, no therapy (or even a therapist as far as i'm aware), nothing to pass the time besides a tv that didn't work for half the time i was there. it was impossible for my fiancé to contact me while i was there. frankly, if this place is your only option, you might just be better off not going. i will likely be filing a complaint with the district against this place because of my experiences there.

Cam N: This place needs to be shut down immediately, no care or respect for patients. Disregard for health and sanity. Food is terrible, showers are ice cold. Employees force religious beliefs. Not profesional what so ever
Response: Hi, Cam. Thank you for your feedback. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your concerns. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting https://reptn.io/BwAfZ1AaQfA. We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you again.

Mary Moaney: If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would staff does not communicate with parents of children patients. Patients are fighting no security no control no organization etc. My daughter had a panic attack and no one found her. No organization with medications etc. Absolutely worst place to send your children. If you actually care about your children do NOT send them here.
Response: Hi, Mary. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your concerns. We take your comments very seriously and would like to learn more about your concerns. Due to federal patient privacy laws, we can only discuss care with a patient or guardian; however, we encourage you to reach out to us directly by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/. Again, thank you.

Alliance Physical Therapy: what do users think?

Nathaly: Avisha was amazing in guiding and helping my recovery after a torn ACL. She's very professional and knowledgeable and I cannot attribute my progress without her assistance. The rest of the staff were also very friendly and courteous.

Ramona Crippen: I saw Avisha at Alliance Physical Therapy for six months after a fall that resulted in a bad tibia plateau fracture, and I was extremely pleased with their service and expertise. The front desk staff were easy to work with for insurance billing and appointment scheduling. The office is conveniently located in NW DC. The therapists and technicians made a very difficult time for me much more enjoyable. I was confident in their abilities and trusted their treatment. They did their best to make me comfortable while challenging me three days a week to improve. When I started with them, I was unable to walk and in a wheelchair; as I complete my therapy with them, I am walking again. I'd highly recommend them!

Deb F: Very happy with my experience at Alliance PT and I would definitely recommend them. I worked with Bianca, Autumn, Avisha & Andrew who all helped get rid of my pain! They all knew what they were doing! Everyone was professional, nice and friendly, including all the assistants and office staff. They are obviously all happy to work there which is always a good sign.

Kathy Kretman: Bianca is the best physical therapist that I've had, and I have been to many over the years. She is smarter than the podiatrists and orthopedists that I've had. She has worked with me on balance, core strengthening and most recently, a variety of feet problems. Her assessment of my issues is spot on. She takes great care to ensure the treatments work. And, they do. I am also impressed by the professionalism and warmth of all the staff, from the receptionists to the therapists and assistants. Simply put, I wish I could give Bianca ten stars -- she deserves it.

Todd Johnson: I've been working with Avisha who's been outstanding. She's very professional, knowledgeable, and has helped my issue with left foot drop etc. improve some already. I would also like to note that Roxana who works at the reception desk has also been great. If you're in need of PT Alliance is the place! Greg Johnson

Matthew LaBorde: I've been working with Alliance Physical Therapy for about 2 months now. They were flexible with scheduling. I was able to get a weekly appointment at 7am, which was perfect for work conflicts. The staff are kind, knowledgeable, and good humored. I worked closely with Autumn, who was the DPT who originally assessed me, and I found that she is one of the friendliest healthcare professionals I've encountered. I also truly enjoyed my time with Bianca, Avisha, Andrew, and Gino. Gino is really good at making you feel comfortable while doing the exercises, and he is curious about your life and will remember your conversation from week to week (another rare occurrence among healthcare professionals) Each person I named adds awesome knowledge and strength to the team at Alliance, I always feel well taken care of and really enjoy catching up with the team. Overall, I always left Alliance with a smile on my face and feeling stronger week to week with my sprained AC joint. Thank you, Alliance!

Susan Walker: From the front desk welcome to the therapists who worked as a team to help me meet my goal of pain free movement, I have only positive things to say about the Alliance staff at the Washington Circle office. I am inspired by their commitment to quality care and personable service to all patients. I highly recommend this PT practice.

George Lewis: Bianca and team worked with me for many months to rehabilitate my shoulder after a broken collar bone injury. The team was excellent and provided many tools and exercises to help me return my shoulder to a normal level of activity. I really appreciate their patience and perseverance.

Sean Brosnan: If you are ever in need of physical therapy, I would strongly urge you to consider going to Alliance Physical Therapy at Washington Circle. I attended this location for over a year and a half due to a severe accident that required a lengthy and painful healing process. The staff were upfront and honest with me from the first days and incredibly knowledgeable and friendly throughout the healing process. The therapists and aides are all caring, attentive, and, in my opinion, quite funny (though I wouldn't recommend encouraging Andrew or Marc). Though I was happy to have been rehabilitated, I can honestly say that I was more than a little disappointed that I wasn't going to be able to see the wonderful staff at Alliance anymore. If you should need Physical Therapy for whatever reason, I cannot recommend Alliance Physical Therapy enough.

Jameson: The whole team at Alliance PT is very friendly and that helps make rehabbing a thing to look forward to during the week. My personal experience is mostly with Bianca Bass, who has done a tremendous job helping me work on two sports injuries that remained unsolved by a handful of other people I had seen during college. Bianca's determination and knowledge is truly impressive, and I couldn't imagine seeing anyone else for a sports injury.

Paul B. Sheesley, M.A., LCPC: what do users think?

Carol Deel: I have known Paul Sheesley as a colleague for many years. He is caring, compassionate, empathetic, and a highly efficient counselor. His greatest strength is his sensitivity to his clients. He is the consummate problem solver. When my caseload is full, Paul Sheesley is at the top of my referral list.

Anne Haggerty: Paul Sheesley has always been professional, objective, honest, tactful, flexible and dependable. Having seen him for 2+ yrs now and discussed a wide variety of topics, he is very quick to understand what your situation is, putting himself into your shoes to gain perspective. His guidance is backed with experience and research but he does not get super clinical and will speak in terms that are easily relatable. He gets to the point with recommendations that come from the heart even when he is tactfully but directly telling you things you may not want to hear.

Gabrielle Sorina: Paul was really helpful with all of my problems. Whether it was the more serious things, or talking about my problems with boys, it was all really helpful and he's really respectful and overall great.

ManBot 3000: Seen Paul for a brief time during a crisis episode in my life. Professional and open. If you're looking for someone to help you with some things or just trying to gain some perspective I'd certainly recommend speaking with Mr. Sheesley.

Jason Strozier: I didn't continue seeing Mr. Sheesley long because of reasons not to do with him but he was proffesional and a nice guy. I would recommend him.

Children's National Hospital: what do users think?

Brittany Jeffries: Absolutely a wonderful hospital. The staff was attentive, patient, caring, and went above and beyond to make our experience as least traumatizing as possible. They consider everything there, even going so far as to have a locker room for parents to bathe in or providing a computer and internet to use. The nurses tried to comfort my baby as much as possible. They had a volunteer come in to play with my baby so I could take a break. She left happy and healthy and I couldn't ask for more than that. I wish they could upgrade a bit, and that staff needs more amenities. Those people are doing God's work, they need massage chairs and a chef to cook for them weekly.
Response: Hi Brittany! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review for Children's National Hospital. We're so glad that you had such a positive experience with our incredible team. Have a great day! - Noelle @Children's National Hospital

Dannielle White: This hospital has literally saved my son’s life 3 times. He has 2 breathing disorders and has spent most his life in this hospital. His surgeon (Dr. Pamela Mudd) and her team are amazing! All the nurses and doctors we’ve had with the exception of one have been awesome! The one doctor that was an issue has been blocked from ever handling my sons care. The nurses and other doctors were very helpful and handling the situation.
Response: Hi Dannielle! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review for Children's National Hospital. We're so glad that you and your son had such a positive experience with our incredible team. Have a great day! - Kate@Children's National Hospital

H BL: This hospital is a total nightmare for hygiene. We had a nurse who refused to wash her hands or use gloves while drawing blood and operating a central line. It was amazing we didn't end up sicker coming out. So many of the workers in the hospital don't wear their masks correctly, either. This hospital tries to keep everything in house, regardless of how much extra it costs the patient. They are unable to write a basic order that LabCorp/Quest can fill and when they do send you the orders, they are only for Children's Hospital Labs, and the orders are unsigned! So, patients have to drive back to their hospitals and use their labs, pay for parking, register in one of two entrances, and walk all the way through the hospital. Then, many insurance companies don't cover labs drawn at Children's, so it becomes an out-of-pocket expense. They are acute, so they force everything to be outpatient unless you are in imminent risk of dying. Moreover, the doctors don't listen, dismiss patient complaints, and seem to push everyone into the pain clinic, regardless of how sick your child is.
Response: Thank you so much for reaching out to us with your concerns, H. Please call our ombudsman team directly at 202-476-2064 so we can address your experience as soon as possible. – Noelle @Children's National Hospital

Andrew Kamischke: The Emergency room wait was approximately 4 hours before our name was called to go to a bed. The nurse who called our name said that we were waiting for the room to be cleaned so we were taken to another waiting room. Shortly after that a doctor came to the waiting room and conducted a patient assessment while on the hallway. No effort was made to discuss health information in private going against HIPAA. All of the test done and samples collected were in the waiting room. We seemed to be an after thought to the staff. After about another 4 hours never seeing the inside of a room we were sent home to wait for the results of the test. If a staffing shortage is a problem I’ll gladly clean my own room for free to have that privacy and a bed for my child to lay down instead of the waiting room floor.
Response: Thank you for reaching out to us about your experience, Andrew. Our patients and their families are our number one priority, and we take that very seriously. Please email me directly at webteam@childrensnational.org with any details you are willing to share in addition to: your phone number, your child’s name and DOB. We can have the appropriate person respond to your needs and address your experience. Have a great day. – Noelle

Sara B: Avoid the ER at Children's at all costs. Consider going to a hospital that can manage their workload first, and then transferring to Children's if you need to. We took our 4 day old there for an emergency medical issue when our pediatrician told us to. Pediatrician called ahead and told us that they were aware we were coming and the hospital would be ready to accept us in the ER. We arrived at the ER and waited there for HOURS, ultimately never receiving care. We tried advocacy, we tried everything. The triage nurse refused to help us because it was "shift change." We eventually escalated to the charge nurse, who said they were just waiting on a room. We expressed concern about exposing our 4 day old to the pit of sick kids in the waiting room. But we couldn't leave the waiting area because they shout out names (not even over intercom), so if we went somewhere safe, we would miss the announcement. The charge nurse made it sound like we should have been given a temporary triage room. She said she would take care of us soon. An hour later, still nothing. We followed up with another nurse and expressed concern that we weren't receiving care and were put in a dangerous situation in the ER waiting room. Still nothing. After waiting nearly 4 hours, we ended up leaving.
Response: Thank you so much for reaching out to us with your concerns, Sara. Please call our ombudsman team directly at 202-476-2064 so we can address your experience as soon as possible. – Noelle @Children's National Hospital

Ari Atkinson: We were lucky enough to have good interactions with our medical providers at Children's. However, the billing department here has destroyed our trust in the institution and made life hell since. We had either charges added to our bills (with no explanation why, and the billing dept couldn't answer it either), or, more recently, had charges that were sent incorrectly to insurance. Insurance says they need a correction from the hospital, the doctor talked to us directly and informed us of what the billing dept should be doing, but after phone call after phone call (and receiving bill after repetitive bill), nothing was getting fixed. At one point, other charges were properly submitted to insurance and I tried to pay what I was responsible for (all co-pays), but the hospital apparently took my credit card and instead of charging it for what I had authorized, instead applied it to other "balances" that should have been covered by insurance! I started attempting to keep things straight by sending emails to their billing email address, but still nothing changed. And *then* instead of trying to fix their mistake, they sent the unresolved charges to a debt collector. I'm happy to pay what I owe. I've been straight about that with them from the beginning. I even tried to pay. But this hell of stringing me along, and then handing it off to a debt collector means that in the future I cannot imagine using a provider at Children's if I can avoid doing so.

Geneva A.: 15 hours spent here, 8 spent waiting to see a doctor, 1 spent waiting to be transferred, 6 spent waiting for lab results. The ER is dirty and the wait times are worse than general hospitals. My sick third grader was so ill he could not stand and had to sit on the dirty floor. I stood for hours holding my 30 pound 2 year old. We were here more than 5 hours before vitals were even taken and my child was placed in a room to then wait 3 more hours to see a doctor. After seeing a doctor in fast track that was not nice at all to my son, we were moved back to the ER an hour later where we were told he would receive IV fluids and have blood tests done. 6 hours later he never received IV fluids and we were discharged with a diagnosis of COVID and advisement to take Tylenol. It is so sad to see such a good hospital go down like this. :(
Response: Thank you so much for reaching out to us with your concerns, Geneva. Please call our ombudsman team directly at 202-476-2064 so we can address your experience as soon as possible. – Noelle @Children's National Hospital

tamara ashvetiya: We have had a great experience at this hospital - the level of expertise is truly outstanding and the staff are professional, well trained, and friendly. During my pregnancy my OB raised concerns that required more advanced testing in order to diagnose a potential neurologic abnormality, so we were referred to Children's Hospital. As someone who works in the medical field, my expectations were high to begin with, and I was not disappointed. The degree of expertise at this place is outstanding; I truly felt well taken care of by everyone; each staff member from the doctors, to the sonographers, to the nurses and techs that I interacted with during my visits were highly knowledgeable, compassionate, and understanding. At other facilities I've noticed a level of sloppiness and lack of attention to detail that was non-reassuring, but at this facility my doctors had reviewed my prior records and were familiar with the details of my medical history and results from prior testing. They were able to provide me with clear evidence-based prognostic information that helped us formulate a plan for the next steps in treatment, and my husband and I both felt that we had access to the best possible care.
Response: Children's National Hospital appreciates your review. Thanks again! - Noelle @Children's National Hospital

rosey aura: I DO NOT recommend this hospital unless you don't have anywhere else to go to. I never leave reviews but the place and the staff are awful and VERY rude and overall really unprofessional (you get nice ones if you're lucky). The showers had big roaches climbing out the drains which really freaked me out. Luckily I had some nice staff take care of it. Second, I have a stepfather who I do not share the same color with and the CPS worker had asked him if I really was his daughter and a nurse laughed. I was fuming. He's still my father no matter what color he is or even if we don't share the same blood. I was already having a bad day and I come to this place with questionable staff?? I'd rather have them bad mouth ME rather than have them bad mouth my FATHER. It was unbelievable. I reached out to the nurses and they all told me to just ignore them like they're used to this type of unprofessionalism. Even more unbelievable! The staff that work downstairs in the emergency room for kids have full on loud conversations that involve profanity and they sometimes even play music when there were kids resting! They take care of you and treat whatever your body needs but I could not handle the amount of disrespect coming from these so called "staff" and workers!! If you are reading this PLEASE look for another hospital to go to I am BEGGING.
Response: Thank you so much for reaching out to us with your concerns, rosey. Please call our ombudsman team directly at 202-476-2064 so we can address your experience as soon as possible. – Noelle @Children's National Hospital

Tiffany Graef: We arrived at ER at 10 am. We’re routed to parking structure for Children's hospital…we’re stuck for 45 min before the parking attendants found places. We waited 12 hours to be seen and only had 2 updates. The updates were…it’s going to be longer…a lot longer…sorry.
