Providence Health System: what do users think?

Crazy Chicc: It’s a shame that this hospital is closed now. I received the best treatment. I Was comfortable with the people who worked there. A very trustworthy hospital.
Response: Thank you; we appreciate your feedback! -Providence Community Manager

Tiyende-Tose Nyirenda: The lady at the front Judy/Ruby is rude. Took time off work to come for an appointment that was scheduled by them in advance just to find out that my insurance isn’t accepted there. Waste of time.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We would appreciate the opportunity to work with you directly regarding your review. Could you please reach out to us at 202-854-4025 (Mon-Fri 8 am-4:30 pm) at your earliest convenience? Thank you. -Providence Community Manager

MW 7: I always received the best care here when it was a hospital. In the past it felt like my treatment plan was being executed by a team of angels, amoung them Dr. Lawrence, Dr. Mark Johnson, Annie the nurse, and others. They even use to have a copy of a healing or encouraging prayer for you to read or take with you. The gift shop and cafeteria were awesome. This was a first class hospital for 186 years. Now as an Urgent Care Center I received the same great care for a recent health concern. The waiting room was clean and appropriately modified to ensure social distancing. The receptionist, nurse and Nurse Practitioner Beale were professional, compassionate, kind, and thorough. This is a much needed christian-based health care resource for the hardworking, taxpaying American residents of the Northeast quadrant of the District of Columbia. The decision to care for and minister to the health of the people of this community by offering this serve was indeed an ethical and important decision.
Response: We think we have an incredible staff too! It's always nice to see messages like this. -Providence Community Manager

for for: This has to be the worst place ever. I’ve literally sat here for 2 hours for absolutely nothing. Nurse and Doctor came and told me to do two completely different things about my injury without even touching or evaluating me. For the work they actually put in here to actually helping people you could hire 4 year olds here. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR LIFE ESPECIALLY TATIANA

Zuri Jordan: I have been trying to get my health records for months. I have submitted the paperwork and haven’t heard back. When you call they dont pick up. This hospital is trash. And then someone responded to this review, I did what they asked and they never reached out. Im sick.
Response: Thank you for the feedback. We would like to work with you directly, so could you please complete this form ascn.io/patientfeedback and we will reach out? Thank you. -Providence Community Manager

Howard University Hospital: what do users think?

Zina Jones: I was there this month. May 2022. The ER staff was efficient, patient and kind. The emergency room was clean, even the bathrooms were clean. Security was alert and understanding. My brother was a little loud and vocal and the security guard was very understanding. He said my brother is just worried about me. That was awesome. The staff that checked me in was ok. The triage staff was excellent.. Thanks so much for a job well done. The Doctor techs and nurses were professional and comforting.. Thank you so much

Evan Glassman: Not gonna lie when I was sitting in the waiting room with my head leaking from a huge gash I got from slipping on my own pee, I decided to check the reviews on google. After seeing the measly 2.4 stars, I was scared they were gonna make my cut worse or even forget about me. I was completely wrong. Service was efficient. The nurse was really kind and she stitched me up effortlessly. Would definitely come back if I slip on my own pee again. Thanks guys.

bria bailey: I don’t even know how this hospital is still open. My grandfather was having a heart attack and when they told him that they were taking him to Howard hospital he stayed home. This place has no empathy at all. The staff is rude. Lazy. Disrespectful. The emergency room acts as if you are an inconvenience by actually going there. Nobody has phone etiquette and manners. Whoever the man is running the emergency room has no business dealing with people. I legit hate this hospital and only go if I feel like Im dying. If you read this PLEASE GO TO SIBLEY HOSPITAL THEY ACTUALLY CARE.

Lamaria Washington: I go to this hospital cafe a lot and it is normally a pleasant experience but yesterday (5/15/22) I came and brought some grapes. After eating a few, I realized that some of the grapes had mold in them. I checked the label to see that these grapes were 10 days expired. I returned the next day and checked the other grapes and saw that the label had been removed so customers could no longer see the expiration date.

Shaunta Gilchrist: On March 13th 2021 I was scheduled to give birth to my daughter and we arrived on time and there wasn’t no doctor on the floor until the next morning. Following that they continued to want me to have a c-section which I refused. The bed I was on was broken and the feet rest didn’t work. Well during pushing my daughter out two days later the foot rest broke completely and my legs dropped while I was pushing which caused the epidural to turn and almost fall out. I know have severe nerve damage to my right leg and can’t feel it from the knee to the inner thigh. I have a lawyer involved and plan on going all the way. I had to stop breast feeding because of the medications they had me on. Absolutely horrible

jose Navarro: Do Not go here if you’re pregnant and planning on giving birth here!!!! I’ve been to L&D like 3 times for emergency due to pregnancy every time I go there they never find anything wrong I feel like they are just being lazy when I arrived to the L&D section all the nurses were in their phone didn’t even want to see me because they didn’t want to work at all. If anything goes wrong in your labor and delivery they won’t be able to find it. I ended going to Medstar hospital after going here an boom there was a Problem in my pregnancy like I suspected. So don’t trust this hospital at all they don’t care

MedStar Washington Hospital Center: what do users think?

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: I believe this is the best hospital in Washington DC Compare with other hospitals. Unfortunately waiting time is so much here cannot explain. This location needs major renovation more facilities for patients and staff.
Response: Thank you for your review, Chaturbhuj. We're happy to hear that you have had positive experiences with us. We value your feedback and will share it with our leadership team so that we can make improvements in the future. Thank you for choosing us for your care. We wish you the best!

Hannah: Was flown into the emergency department after a major hemorrhage, post-tonsillectomy that left me unable to stop throwing up large amounts blood. The ER team got me straight into a room, explained everything they were doing, and made sure I was comfortable. My primary ER nurse, Raquel, was incredibly helpful. In less than 10 minutes after my arrival the resident ENT, Dr. Randolph, came to exam me and was very kind and had excellent bedside manner. He collaborated on my treatment plan with my surgeon and communicated everything to me and my mom. After a few hours I was admitted to the hospital in my own room. They allowed my mom to stay the night with me since I am under 26 years old. My nurse, Mary Kate, was incredible. She made sure me and my mom were comfortable, that I wasn’t in too much pain, and was very very sweet! The next morning Dr. Randolph came back to discharge me. Every nurse, doctor, and staff member I encountered there was great - which is very meaningful considering I was in such rough shape. Great medical team. Wait times were a bit long at times, but as to be expected in a hospital.
Response: Hannah, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are so glad that we could be here for you when you needed us, especially during what must have been a very frightening situation. We will surely share your kind words with our team. Thank you for your trust and for choosing us for your care. We hope you are doing better and wish you the best!

Johniece Robinson: Don’t let these people lie to you this by far the worst hospital ever! Back in the day it was okay but I don’t know what happened over the years. I’ve watched my sister have the worst labor and delivery. The doctors was unprofessional they even had students practice on the patients. They barely clean, sanitize my sisters room, if it’s supposed to be COVID why nobody not doing they’re job! I was so irritated and annoyed for my sister. She came in the hospital Great left out with a fever. The nurses will get irritated if we ask them a question, they will take along time to respond to us if we call for them it was just too much I felt so bad. Hopefully in the future they will have better doctors and more professional nurses. I will go more into details but I’m not! Just hope In the future things will be so much better and more professional
Response: Johniece, thank you for your review and feedback. We are very sorry for your sister's experience with us. We take your concerns very seriously and would like to reach out to you or her as soon as we can for more information. Please fill out our secure online patient feedback form so that we can reach out as soon as possible: http://bit.ly/mshpff. We hope to speak with you soon and will do everything we can to help.

Julio Argueta: It was the worst experience in a hospital, my daughter was on surgery for 6 hours, and no one come to me and let me know how was everything, not even after the surgery, in other cases I saw doctors come and tell there family how was everything and that everything went well. But not in my case and not even the receptionist could tell us anything not even where she was. Until 10 hours later when my daughter called me and send me a picture of the board information that she can verily see. That was the only way that I could see her. They ask her if she wants to see a minister, she told them that she wanted to see me because her father was a minister but they didn’t let me in, she stay overnight and now I am her outside waiting until 11:00 they won’t let me in until visit hours, even when she ask for me. Her father. We are used to have a better treatment. Georgetown is the best hospital. For sure….
Response: Julio, we understand that having a loved one in the hospital can be difficult and emotional. We're very sorry to hear that you have not been satisfied with your family's experience. We'd like to reach out to you as soon as we can to see if there's anything we can do to help and support you. If you're willing, please send us your contact information by filling out our secure online patient feedback form: http://bit.ly/mshpff. We hope to speak with you soon and will do everything we can to help.

joy adona: My sister was a patient at this hospital just recently. She had chest pain and fainted while working. She was brought to the emergency room department and had the worst experience since. The nurse who took care of her yelled at her when she was asking for something, she could not move at all and needed assistance getting what she needed. She was not treated with respect, her privacy was violated. She was in pain and did not receive anything to manage it. Her calls were ignored. It is hard enough to be in pain more so being treated rudely while dealing with it. The nurses’ priority should be the provision of safe and quality patient care. My sister just experienced the opposite.
Response: Joy, thank you for sharing your review. We are very sorry for your sister's experience with us. We take your concerns seriously and would very much like to speak with her regarding these issues. Please ask her to fill out our secure online patient feedback form so that we can contact her as soon as we can: http://bit.ly/mshpff. We hope to speak with her soon and will do everything we can to help.

Greer Dog Adventures: The front desk and security are horrible. No compassion, no empathy, unhelpful, and always have an attitude. They will give you different information policy than the doctors and nurses, and it is not always correct. If you can get past that, the other staff is gracious, kind, compassionate, and helpful. Mask mandate in effect. Normal visiting hours vary from 11a-6p to 2p-7p. Only one person PER DAY. Palliative care visiting hours are 24/7 under order of provider. Two people are allowed at a time, and they can switch with other documented visitors.
Response: Thank you for your review and feedback. While we're happy to hear that you had a positive experience with some of our team members, it's very disappointing to hear that this was not the case throughout your visit. We'd like to reach out to you for more information regarding your concerns. If you're willing, please fill out our secure online patient feedback form: http://bit.ly/mshpff. We hope to speak with you soon and will do everything we can to help.

Naya -Monet: April front desk at suite 108 for pregnant women had a really nasty attitude talked to me any kind of way no greeting busy speaking to co-workers while speaking to me must be really miserable. She definitely needs more training on people/communication skills if you don’t like your job don’t work there simple. In the hallway while I was waiting for feedback I even overheard other patients complaining about her attitude which sucks. She needs to learn the basics of patient care fire her or have her get more training .
Response: Naya, thank you for your review. We're very sorry for your experience and would like to reach out to you for more information as soon as we can. We expect all members of our team to treat our patients with the highest levels of kindness and professionalism. If you're willing, please fill out our secure online patient feedback form: http://bit.ly/mshpff. We hope to speak with you soon.

Jade Dawson: I had a very good labor and delivery experience here via c section, as I could not labor naturally with my midwife as planned for several reasons. I labored naturally here until 7cm and I’m so glad all I had to do was pace my breathing. They took wonderful care of me, knew how and when to manage my pain before I realized it myself. The low stress of this resulted in a calm trust when it came to the c section. Will come again for the next baby!

Sibley Memorial Hospital: what do users think?

Anna Katt: We just arrived home from receiving excellent care from Sibley’s Labor and delivery department. Everyone involved at every stage of the process was so kind and helpful, including the room service staff and environmental services. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to support us during the process of welcoming our first. Really appreciate all of it considering the current challenges faced by health care professionals during this pandemic.

Erin Taylor: I had such an amazingly positive experience at the Sibley ER yesterday and had to write a review. The triage nurses were really fantastic and caring. They stayed calm even though it was a hectic day and they were so kind. I especially appreciated them because I passed out in the ER and they were so kind when waking me up and helping me feel better. The ER nurses (Alex and Liz) were amazing! So helpful and kind and attentive. They really lightened my mood because they were so kind and caring. They also took the time to explain everything to me and really make sure I was okay. This was amazing to me because I knew the ER was very busy that day. The doctor, Dr. Eltaki, was absolutely fantastic. She was so smart and caring and made me feel really cared about and important. She also really took the time to explain things to me. I really really appreciated her!

Ronald Willis (Toke Masta): This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at an emergency room. But still very worthy of 5 stars. I was in at 9:30a. They drew blood at 10:15a. I didn’t get into a room until about 4p. I watched literally every person in the lobby get called back before me. By the time I go in a room. There were no familiar faces. A supervisor came out around 3:15. And I explained to her what I came for. And how long I had been waiting. She assured me she would look into it. And about 45 min later, I had a room. Once in the room. The nurses jumps into action. I got my cat scan. Nothing unusual. And they did what they needed to do. Once complete. I did have to wait an unusually long time for my discharge papers. But when I asked what was going on, I was out within 10 minutes. The staff was very overwhelmed but the people, the attitudes, the trash talking. But nobody lost patience. Everyone did the best they could. And even though it took a while. I left happy and satisfied with how the day was spent. Kudos to the entire ER staff at SMH! Thank you!

Karen Luttrell: I just has surgery here at this hospital. My third surgery in 5 months due to breast cancer, but the first time I had surgery at this location. The staff in both pre-op and post-op went above and beyond to take care of me. My anesthesiologist was fantastic. I generally get very sick from anesthesia, but not this time. I greatly appreciate courtesy, kindness and care I received. I would highly recommend them!

Emalee Jimenez: This hospital needs to be seriously investigated for negligent patient care and no standards of cleanliness. This is a liability and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve been sued for negligence in patient deaths. I will be contacting more people because of this. Took my friend to the ER because she was having extreme abdominal pain that probably occurred because of a gluten allergy attack. The staff kept asking if she had drank or smoked weed recently, probably trying to really push to see if it was just a hangover. The staff was extremely rude and aggressive and caused her even more pain at times. The ER was less than half empty when we were there but somehow they took 2 hours just to give her an IV. As they were getting blood samples I guess the phlebotomist was too lazy to get a separate cart so she just used our table with all our personal belongings on it to do her blood work. The picture shown was AFTER the lady took the 4 blood viles off the table. She looked confused and didn’t know which vile went in which bag , and even got BLOOD on the table near our stuff!! Didn’t bother to clean up the spilt blood. I had to wait another hour just to get somebody’s attention to ask for gloves and wipes to clean it up myself. After 3 hours, and complaining about 2 or 3 times, they gave her morphine. Still rough and aggressive. We were fed up and just told them we wanted to be discharged. We waited another HOUR AND A HALF. At this point we’ve been in the ER for 4.5 hours. Nothing was done. Nobody was helping. Still haven’t seen any doctor. We pulled out the IV ourselves and walked out and went to another hospital. Wasted so much time and actually caused more pain. Please don’t come here

elijah: I’ve always had positive experiences at sibley but not this time. I’ve been sitting in the er for 9 and a half hours. I’ve had my blood drawn and and IV put in and left to sit in the waiting room this whole time. I am an amputee (amputation done at Sibley) and I have an infection. I was admitted last week for 3 days for IV antibiotics and sent home with 5 days of oral antibiotics even though I told them I cannot take oral. I vomited the oral antibiotics for 5 days and am back at the hospital because my infection is still there. Everyone that came into the er after me is gone. They say they are going by acute cases but leaving me in the er for almost 10 hours (and counting) makes me feel like I don’t matter. I’m extremely upset and feel neglected.
Response: Hi Elijah - we appreciate the opportunity to resolve your concerns. George Washington University Hospital: what do users think?

Barbara Thompson: For the past 2 months, I have been fortunate enough to be seen at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. I am new to Washington DC, so it is the first time I have experienced the level of care that goes on there. Because I have several physical issues to deal with, I am at the hospital a couple of times a week. The Doctors have been able to diagnose and begin treatment for .a couple of major physical issues that I have. The Physical Therapy team that is working with me is showing me great kindness and patience. There is a confidence and optimistic feeling among the staff that permeates the hospital. You can’t help but feel better after spending time with this crew. I have never felt so comfortable in a hospital before, or looked forward to going to it! I am so grateful for the professionalism and the knowledge that the doctors and nurses have. I am looking forward to healing in a better life because of their care. So to the doctors, nurses, therapists and the rest of the staff, please know how much we appreciate all the hard work that you do for us. You are greatly appreciated and loved! Barb Thompson
Response: Hi, Barbara. It means the world to us that you took time out of your day to leave us this great feedback. Thank you, and we hope you have a pleasant day.

Jackie Wlodarczyk: I went in with an issue with my eye because it would not open. I obviously was not able to see much at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they guided me so I would not run into anyone or anything. I was seen by a medical student, a resident, and an ER doctor almost immediately. They were all very nice and were quick and efficient in order to cause me the least amount of pain possible. The student and resident were extremely nice and provided me with as much information as possible. The only downside was that it took a really long time for the head doctor to approve my discharge paperwork. Which I kind of understand since it is an emergency room, but at that point I just really wanted to leave and go home. I eventually just left on my own after waiting an hour and a half for the head doctor to sign it. But overall, the staff really made the experience great.
Response: Hi, Jackie. Thank you for taking the time to leave us such great feedback. We're glad to hear you found our staff to be so friendly and helpful. Take care!

LyshaReneéTV: From the time of my consultation to the time I had my surgery the nurses and doctors were excellent! They made sure at all times I had everything I needed. Throughout my consultation, the doctor was very informative of my issues and well informative about my options. During my surgery, it did start an hour late but throughout my time waiting the doctors still made sure that I was comfortable and the job got done. I would definitely recommend!
Response: Thank you for your kind words, Lyshareneétv! Shout-outs like this are so meaningful to our team and we will be sure to pass your comments along. Thank you again and take care!

Jessy Manuel: The staff had excellent bedside manner and were comforting and kept me well informed. I was very nervous as I had a prior surgery after which I woke up in horrible pain. I told the anesthesiologist and he reassured me before the procedure and stayed with me until I was in recovery to make sure that did not happen. Highly recommended.
Response: Thank you for the five stars, Jessy!

Vonda Lewis: I had in and out surgery here last week and I was really nervous but once I checked in and was called to the back to get prepped for it. My nurse came in then the doctors who were doing the surgery came in and introduced themselves and then their assistant and so on. I was like I really feel welcomed and at ease a little. When I got to the surgery room the room was nice and cozy they had soft music playing, everyone was so very nice and at that time I knew I was in good hands. I was not nervous anymore. From the time I switched doctors GW has always been on point with everything! I would definitely recommend this hospital and the doctors to any and everyone! They get 5/10 stars from me! Thanks GW😊
Response: Hi, Vonda. It is very thoughtful of you to leave us such positive comments. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We hope you are doing well!

Leandra Brown: I just recently gave birth at GWU and I had an amazing experience. From the check in process to discharge and everything in between, I felt well taken care of. The Midwives are incredible! They are all so kind and knowledgeable and really attentive to your needs. I couldn’t be happier. All of the Nurses I worked with during Labor and after were awesome! They were super helpful and took such good care of me! Even though they had their hands full with lots of other patients, they were still very attentive, constantly checking in to see if I needed anything. I also loved working with the Lactation Consultant. She was so supportive and encouraging and I learned so much from her. It was such a pleasure working with her. I appreciate all of the staff (it’s impossible to name them all) for making my experience a great one.
Response: Hi, Leandra. Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with us! Compliments such as these are held very dear to our hearts. We’re currently working on a staff recognition campaign and would like to share your kind words with our community. If we may include your feedback, please fill out the following form by visiting https://rptn.co/fRtBAaB8AQA. Thank you again for sharing your thoughtful comments with us.

Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center: what do users think?

Vanessa Garcia: This places is terrible. The nurses and doctors are none caring. If there was a option to put a 0 stare I would give them that. You have people waiting hours when it’s a emergency! You have your patient die that’s how bad this place is! Please who ever sees this we need quality care in the community not quantity. Very bad!!! Customer services is key and timely manage.

Brittany Young: As I sat in the emergency room waiting for my brother, I watched a man come in and tell the front desk that he felt like he was having a heart attack. No one moved with any sense of urgency. They even asked him to sit down and do a formal check-in. I couldn’t believe my eyes. There were other things that happened that also made me sad—a nurse said she’d get help to assist my brother in getting onto the gurney and she never returned, and waiting on final paperwork took forever. I appreciate ALL that nurses and doctors do. They are heroes. However, as an overall hospital experience, this community deserves better. How can we make this a better place for people to get quality emergency care??
Response: Hello Brittany, On behalf of the leadership team at Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center, I apologize for any negative experience you and/or your brother received. Bobby Glenn: My mom checked in and she received decent care the nurse staff did very poorly in calling with updates on a day to day basis. I called multiple times throughout the day and was always promised a nurse would call me back but never did. When it was time to transfer her to a new facility I called and wasn’t informed until I called her in. When I asked the male nurse that evening he refused to give me any updates and was very rude. I had to go up to the hospital to get an update from the lead nurse who informed me that my mom had been transferred to another facility in western Maryland. I do appreciate the care she had while there but the customer service aspect has to improve.
Response: Hello Bobby, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are taking your comments seriously. Our aim is to ensure we provide the best compassionate care to every patient, every time. While we are happy to that you are pleased with the care your mother received with us, we see improvement is needed in our communication. Brittany Gudger: Not the place to go if you have an emergency or if you feel like death is at your door. This place will test your patients. I feel like they be waiting to see who going pass out first in the lobby before they take you to the back. Will never go back tear the building down and start all over again, this use to be one of the best ER’s now it’s just there a useless building.
Response: Hello Brittany, We value your decision to choose Fort Washington Medical Center to help meet your healthcare needs and are taking your comments seriously. We would like to learn more about your experience. Please send your contact information to FWMCExecutiveOffice@AdventistHealthCare.com and someone from our quality team will be in touch. On behalf of the leadership team at Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center, I apologize for any negative experience you received. We look forward to assisting you with your healthcare needs in the future. Thank you, Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center Team

hammy the bear: Unequivocally the worst hospital I’ve ever interacted with. Specifically the ED staff. They are incompetent and conduct patient care with a lack of any decent bedside manner. Nurses especially treat patients with no regard for their personal needs and circumstances. If you have any kind of choice in the matter I would recommend no one patronize this institution

leticia escobar: Five hours waiting for my 4-year-old son to be attended to; my son cried a lot because of the pain in his fractured knee and even so they did not attend to me. It is the worst hospital I have ever seen in my life. They have no pity for the sick.

Barnard Medical Center: what do users think?

Stephen Underwood, Global Corporate Peacemaker: I thoroughly enjoy the care that I received from the Barnard Medical Center. They have always been so very polite and empathetic to me and my wife. I highly recommend this facility and staff at this establishment. They provide very good care to their patience no matter their color, race, ethnicity, or language. We love ❤️ them!

RexTV9: The Barnard Medical Center is world-class medical care. Dr. Jeffrey F. Loomis (of The Game Changers Movie fame) took his time to address my health issues which I am addressing through a vegan oil and nut free plant-based diet. If you have a chronic disease, cardiovascular, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, etc. you should reduce your dependence on medicine and heal yourself through a vegan diet. Check out videos by Dr. Michael Gregor, Dr. T. Colin Cambell, Dr. Caudwill Esselstyn, and last but not least Dr. Neal Bernard.

Joe Hannigan: 2021! Happy New Year Barnard medicalBarnard Medical treats the individual patient and educates the patients on eating a healthy diet, living a clean healthy lifestyle. Dr Loomis is one of the best diagnostic doctors in the world on diagnosing rare and hard to diagnose diseases.

Nia: The young lady that answers the phone is very unprofessional and rude. After scheduling a virtual appointment I was told by this young lady that I would receive two emails. One to download an application and the other to complete forms for my virtual appointment. I received one email but the second email was not sent to me until later that evening. Once I clicked on the link which had already expired. The office was already closed so there was no one I could inform. This young lady cancelled my appointment without even calling or emailing me. When I called 10 mins prior to my appointment she basically argued with me blaming me for her own incompetence. I asked her several times if I could speak with a manager or someone who works over her and she refused to transfer me or give me any contact information. She abruptly said the doctor will call you back if she wants to and disconnected the call. Please train your staff! This is unacceptable!
Response: Dear Nia, Thank you for your feedback. I apologize for the bad experience you had at Barnard Medical Center. If there is anything we can do to remedy this for you, please call us at 202-527-7500 so we can fix it. I have spoken with our team to make sure we do the best we can to improve interactions with prospective patients and assist with appointment scheduling. Thank you.

BridgePoint Continuing Care Hospital - National Harborside: what do users think?

Michael Miller: My brother-in-law previously had covid and was on a ventilator when he was transferred to BridgePoint. He spent three and a half weeks in the ICU in the LTACH unit before being transferred to the Sub-Acute and Rehab unit. The first day in the ICU, my sister-in-law arrived to see my brother-in-law half naked and covered with vomit. The nurse refused to clean him up, instead waiting for the orderly to do it. That seems to be their policy. In general, the ICU nurses seemed to be inattentive. Dr. Gohari, the primary attending physician, was good. She was willing to give us frequent detailed updates on his condition. Her weekend backup (Dr. Hansen) was not very familiar with the case and was not as helpful. Ernasha, the patient advocate, was helpful and responsive. Tigist (Admissions) was also good. Front desk personnel were polite and helpful. Nelson, a nurse, was very kind and caring. However, the case manager (Melissa) was extremely difficult to get hold of and didn’t really do her job. After leaving the ICU, my brother-in-law was transferred to the Sub-Acute and Rehab unit, which is a separate entity in the same building. We were not happy with that facility. It was very difficult to talk to anyone about his case. We were not able to talk to any doctor during the two weeks he was there. Mr. Mitchell, the administrator, did pick up his phone but could only get the speech therapist (Rebecca) to call. She was very helpful. In the two weeks my brother-in-law was in Sub-Acute and Rehab, they made no progress in weaning him off the ventilator, which is the most important part of rehab in our view. The respiratory therapists were not aggressively trying to wean him, only doing an assessment twice a week. The respiratory department was not even represented in the plan-of-care meeting. When we were finally able to talk to the respiratory director, she was not aware that he had had a successful CPAP trial the day before he was transferred to the Rehab unit. At one point, my brother-in-law tried to get out of bed and ended up on the floor. The side rails of the bed should have been raised but were not. Some of the nurses were nice, especially Pam, but others were not. Our biggest problem with the Sub-Acute and Rehab unit occurred about two weeks after he arrived. One night, we received a call from the nurse supervisor (Vola?) saying my brother-in-law was non-responsive and that they had called 911. They claimed that they had a signed document that said he should be provided with “comfort only.” We had to point out that a Do Not Resuscitate order does not say that at all and they should take him to the emergency room. At the emergency room, it was discovered that his catheter was plugged, resulting eventually in a urinary tract infection and septic shock. This apparently was a result of negligence on the part of the nursing staff. We sent a polite email to the head nurse (Dr. Quarles) and others asking them to investigate. No one ever responded to the email or to two follow-up phone calls. After recovering for three weeks at two different hospitals, my brother-in-law was sent back to rehab. At that point, we refused to let him go back to BridgePoint.

R Chiedi: To say my family and I were disappointed in the care my mom received at Bridgepoint is an understatement. My mom was there for approximately eight months. While on the hospital side, her care was sufficient and the PAs were amazing. However, once she was transferred to the short term rehab on the first floor, things got progressively worse. The communication was awful. Sometimes it would take days to get answers when we were literally concerned that she was going to die. They acted like they would get back to us when they had time with no sense of urgency. Everyone from the PT staff to the doctors acted like they gave up on my mom and could care less about her getting better. The doctors and staff would not listen to her family that are the ones that know best when she’s Experiencing changes. We assumed perhaps all rehab centers were like this, however we are so happy that we made the change to a new one. It is like night and day. The care and communication is 100% better. My Mom is finally happy again and progressing amazingly in her PT.

Tiffany P: Honestly, if I could give 0 stars of this place I would. My mom was brought here after she left ICU at a hospital in Richmond, and I thought they would be good for her. I was wrong. My mom wasn’t in the best shape however she was alert at times. Week after week we only saw my mom getting worse. This hospital seems to hire people with no heart, who can actually stand to hear machines beeping constantly and not coming into the rooms to check them and not give any human being the care they deserve. My moms stomach was bloated for 4 weeks, and it took her blood pressure dropping SUPER LOW for them to actually do something so simple as a scan after we made them aware that something is not right My mom is no longer at this facility thank God, but she’s in super critical condition at another place. Hopefully a better one that can give her the care she needs.

Nichole Saint Germain: What can I say? Only that this hospital brought my father back to life. COVID-19 almost took him and BridgePoint put him back together. The staff at BridgePoint National Harbor was absolutely fantastic. From the calls and facetimes we were always in contact and knew what the next steps where to get my father back. I want to shout out Erica his case manager, she always answered the phone set up meetings and listen to me cry when we had setbacks. I cant thank them enough for everything they have done and continue to do.

Trudy Moore: The care at BridePoint Hospital is excellent. There is a genuine consistent friendly and caring atmosphere. My husband has had excellent care during his stay. The medical staff are competent. His conditions have improved and we are looking forward to him going to a Rehab facility from here; thanks to the great staff and the warm and caring atmosphere. During his stay I enjoyed the cafeteria that offers breakfast and lunch with, again, a very friendly delightful staff and a few outstanding cooks. This facility is clean as well.

jackie isley: Being a health professional myselfI am very criticalTo the level of careMy loved one is receivingThe facility has a lot of work to do to improve in numerous areas.

Joyce Harris: When I first came in I noticed how clean and decorative the lobby was and I was greeted by Vanessa she had such an amazing attitude which made me feel welcomed. The literature that was given to me was true to what they offered for my brother. My brother is very happy and at peace. The staff work well together and I am happy with the choice I made with sending my brother to Bridgepoint. I have an assurance knowing my brother is in good hands. The techs make sure he has everything he needs for when its time to clean him. The cafeteria food is really delicious and if it seems that I am lost everyone is very helpful in showing me where to go. I have to mention that Tess my Nurse really calmed me down when my brother first arrived I knew he was in good hands. I called the next day and she remembered me over the phone. I was really impressed with how personable she was with me. Tess helped me to understand and gave me a level of peace with what is happening with my brother.

Allcare Family Medicine And Primary Care: what do users think?

JL: Earlier today I made an appointment to see a physician because I was not feeling well. When I made my appointment I noted my symptoms as loss of appetite and discoloration on my tongue. When I arrived at the office the young lady at the front desk was extrude and short with me. When I noted this her attitude changed and she stated that she did not see what her height had to do with anything. She then proceeded to ask me to complete a form. She took one look at the form and told me that I would need to see the doctor via televisit. When I asked her why she stated that because I had a headache and abdominal pain coupled with the loss of taste that I could not see the doctor. She wanted me to go outside in the cold and speak to a doctor in the middle of the street. This was my second poor experience at this facility.
Response: JL, we are committed to our COVID-SAFE policy, which is meant to protect not only our staff and other patients but also yourself. --- IF we allow everyone with sore throat or other Covid-like symptoms to come in and get tested inside the office, BY CHANCE ALONE you will be exposed to Covid-19 while in waiting room or exam room where the previous patients was getting seen for sore throat... --- We hope you can appreciate that these measures are for health and safety of not only our staff and other patients, but also your own HEALTH AND SAFETY. --- Thank you for understanding.

Jordan Dias: I went early hoping to get an emergency rapid covid test and they had a sign on the door telling me to go to 1050 K st NW for testing. I go and the concierge at the new location and she tells me they’re not doing testing in the building at all. I call ARC 4 times and they never picked up. I had to go to 3 different clinics in total and even though I came early to District Urgent Care there is a very long line. If there are location changes, please make sure the staff at the different building are made aware of this so that patients are not crowded waiting outside one singular testing site.
Response: I’m very sorry to hear this! Our entrance is on from the side - no need to enter the building !!! And you cannot get tested without telemedicine appointment first !!! Please read our website !!!!

Liam Mulligan: I have been going here for nearly a year for regular appointments and always receive great care. Emily Johnson is a fantastic medical professional who always makes me feel at ease and thoroughly explains all my options and any procedures. She has a great bedside manner.
Response: Liam, your positive feedback is greatly appreciated. It’s always a pleasure to serve our patients.

Chengyan Zhang: Worst medical care experience ever. I scheduled an in-person appointment for checking a swollen tonsils. Was told that this could not be in-person because it is upper respiratory and concerns for COVID. I offered to provide negative COVID test result from the day before, but was told it didn’t matter and they can only see me virtually. I told them the physician would not be able to see my tonsils clearly, and this would be meaningless, but they still would not see me in person. Fine. I was too painful and accepted the virtual appointment. The physician of my appointment was late for half and hour, and a practitioner nursed showed up and told me the physician of my appointment was running late and could not see me….. the appointment was very brief; the NP told me she cannot diagnose because she couldn’t see my tonsils- exactly what I told them when I insisted a virtual visit would not work. I received the bill today. For this experience, they charged me $475?!?!?! With insurance, I still need to pay half of that. Seriously?! For an appointment that the physician was late and didn’t even show up I’m charged $475. What kind of health care is this? How is this not fraud? I highly suggest you avoid this place at all cost. I will never come back again and will tell everyone I know to avoid this place.
Response: Chengyan, we are committed to our COVID-SAFE policy, which is meant to protect not only our staff and other patients but also yourself. IF we allow everyone with sore throat or other Covid-like symptoms to come in and get tested inside the office, BY CHANCE ALONE you will be exposed to Covid-19 while in waiting room or exam room where the previous patients was getting seen for sore throat... We hope you can appreciate that these measures are for health and safety of not only our staff and other patients, but also your own HEALTH AND SAFETY. Katie Kohn: I highly recommend Dr. Talavari from AllCare. He is the first doctor that I have had in my 38 years of life that I feel has really listened to me and wants to help. Appointments are easy to get and they are almost always on time. Blood draws are a breeze. I will never go anywhere else for primary care.
Response: Katie, thank you for your kind words. We are grateful to you for choosing us 🤗

Shay Collins: Not a complaint with this location, but rather with Allcare generally. I had a Telehealth appointment with one of the doctors at this location yesterday and, based on my symptoms, he ordered testing for me at Allcare’s K St NW location. I get there and fill out their text prompt to let them know I’m there and no one comes out to get me like the website said they would. I tried the door and it was locked. I then called Allcare and they said that the location had closed. When I pointed out that one of their own doctors had told me to go there one day prior, the person on the phone said, “we just found out it closed today, we just found out it closed two hours ago.” No sign on the door, no contact to patients to let them know the location had closed. Just left me—while I am sick enough to seek urgent care—to go to their location to only then, and only because I called, find out they had closed their doors that day. I asked the person on the phone if they could order my tests to be done somewhere elsewhere in DC (since their other locations were in Maryland and Virginia) and she told me they could only order tests to their own locations. Wasting a ton of time and money driving around trying to get the tests they ordered because they apparently closed shop with no heads up to any of their staff and didn’t even bother to put up a sign in their storefront. Shameful.
Response: Shay, we are sorry to hear about your experience. Please contact us directly at feedback@allcarefamilymed.com for us to better understand the details of your visit. Rest assured, we will take the appropriate action to make it right.

Savannah Klein: Doctor YT was not sufficient, just did some blood tests and told me he couldn’t figure out what was wrong, over several visits. Really not knowledgeable. Allcare charged me hundreds of dollars for 10 minute visits and somehow found ways to both mess up the insurance handoff and improperly bill me. Do not recommend at all.
Response: Savannah, we are sorry to hear about your experience. Please contact us directly at feedback@allcarefamilymed.com for us to better understand the details of your visit. Rest assured, we will take the appropriate action to make it right. We take great care in delivering an exceptional healthcare experience for every patient.

Children's National Medical Nphlgy: what do users think?

Leah Thompson: I was nervous while driving in after seeing the low rating but I noticed most complaints were due to the time spent waiting. Well today I spent 11 hours in the ER and while that’s a crazy amount of time my son was so well taken care of that I don’t care. Every option was explored and there was no being referred to other places because all specialist are under one roof. 100% recommend making the trip into DC for child emergencies if you’re able. The staff was wonderful❤️

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: Very good hospital for children my daughter had a eye surgery here. She was the patient of Dr. Jaffar.

Patricia Carter: My 6 month old daughter got stuck with a needle 7 times because other places “couldn’t get a good stick” when we went here, she got it on the first stick, no problem. We were in and out, with hardly any fuss from the baby. Kathy Hawkins, specifically, was absolutely amazing. Extremely attentive to not only baby, but myself and her dad as well. If we ever need blood work done for our daughter, we will absolutely make the 2hr trip to come here again!

Jennifer Alvarado: Best hospital for childrens. My daughter has had 56 surgeries during her 4 years of life, and everyone has been wonderful! I love Childrens hospital. From specialty doctors to pediatricians, nurses, radiology, clerks, social workers and other workers have been great! I love this hospital and will always be grateful! Parking is a little tough at times so it’s better to always leave an hour before your appointment. Thank you Childrens hospital.

Lisa Taylor: The “1” review is only because of our wonderful nurses. Poor attending gastroenterologist and resident problem-solving and diagnostics. They didn’t verbally communicate critical MRE results. Infection control issues with C-Diff after testing and “see it all the time there”…sanitize your equipment! Significant financial hardship with med school level care!

Marbel Panameno: I took my son there because he’s had a bad cought and the place was so dirty and there was even vomit on the floor and it took them over 10 mins to come clean it up. You would think the attention towards children would be good after all it’s called children’s but its bad and it took for ever to be seen, We waited over an hour in the emergency room before they brough us in…. Overall if I would have known about the attention in this hospital I would have taken my son elsewhere, not going there again.

DuPont Clinic: what do users think?

Ky: This place felt like a safe haven. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and the staff were so attentive to my needs. They walked me through the entire process and were there by my side every step of the way. This is typically not an easy process, but they made this experience nothing short of calming. Special thanks to Emily and the Doctors who were so sweet to me during my stay. Highly recommend!!
Response: Thank you Ky!!! This means the world to us.

Ari: I had a procedure done about a week and a half ago. I really can’t even express just how amazing this clinic was to me ! I’m still shocked at how easy going this clinic made my procedure. I was beyond scared at first and I’m telling you, they will change that from the minute you walk in. I originally was supposed to go to another clinic that turned me away because my iron was “too low”. The minute I made my appointment and spoke to the desk receptionist I knew I picked a good place to come to. Very professional and just nice. Even from the moment that I walked in, the staff was just amazing. Especially during a difficult time. They were never judge mental at all and answered every single question I had. I never felt rushed or anything. I had a lady named Shy (might have spelled it wrong) she was beyond amazing the whole time. Literally talked to me and comforted me both days that I was there. Felt like I knew her forever lol. Sarah was my anesthesiologist and she was wonderful. I was panicking a lot about being put under anesthesia because I never had been before. She made sure she talked to me about everything and answered all 100 questions I had lol. By the second day she definitely made me comfortable and ready. Dr. Kuperstock did my procedure and she was just overall great ! Fast and and answered all my questions. Always made sure I was comfortable before proceeding. That’s another thing that I liked about this team. They worked with me and was just was very patient. They never proceeded without my ok and just asking am I ready. It’s already a difficult time and just so much stigma about certain procedures and the staff here didn’t judge at all. Nothing felt forced, I was comfortable from the first time I walked in until when I left. Everything here was a 10/10. Even in the recovery room. I definitely felt like family instead of a patient. This is definitely the best clinic by far !
Response: Such a glowing review! Thank you Ari for your kind words. Means the world to us. Hope you are doing well. Sending all our best <3

Destiny Boyd: I don’t even know where to start, all I can say is, this is by far the best clinic ever. I was super nervous and dealing with a lot by the time I arrived but the staff and Dr. Rubin was amazing! I loved my nurse Sarah and personal care giver, Albright. The experience was very relaxing & the entire office was super private & extremely clean. All I’m saying is, if you want a comfortable experience & a place where you actually get treated not like a patient but family, this is the clinic for you.
Response: Wow! We are blown away by your review, Destiny! It was our absolute honor to meet you and be with you. Thank you for trusting us with your care. Hope you take good care, and thanks again for these kind words.

Christine Feinour: The DuPont Clinic made the best of a very emotional and taxing situation for us. We felt welcomed and cared for from the second we walked into the clinic. We will be forever thankful for their kindness and skilled service.

Casey B: DuPont Clinic and their incredible staff are a ray of light during such a dark time. The staff here are incredible, I felt so safe and taken care throughout this entire experience. I am so glad that women and families have you all looking out for them! ❤️
Response: Thank you so much, Casey! Your review made our day. We have shared it with your care team. It was an honor to care for you. Sending you all our best! Take care <3

Justin Diedrich: I recently visited the clinic for the first time and I was very impressed. The entire process from the initial phone call to patient care is professional, caring, and comforting. The patient care professionals who answer the phone help patients navigate what can oftentimes be a difficult process. They will help get your records and reports, help with logistics--including how to get there and where to stay--and they will answer all your questions without judgmental or pressure. The clinic itself is welcoming and exudes calmness and zen. The flow of the clinic is set so every patient gets individualized, private, personal care. They see patients one at a time so there is no busy waiting room. The nurses who work there are kind, empathetic, and professional. The physician is among the most qualified in the country with many years of experience. The care patients receive in this very special place. For anyone who finds themselves in need of specialized care at this clinic, you will be in good hands.

Washington DC VA Medical Center: what do users think?

Tri Love: For the most part my experience with the VA have been good. Sometimes the call and appointment lines take forever and hang up, and sometimes the personnel I speak to are grumpy but overall the service is good, the ER is relatively efficient, I can reach my Dr or their team with ease, and, aside from one ER incident with a certain Dr. I feel heard and well treated. My medications come fast, and the variety of programs is nice. Thank you for your service !

Ashton: My first experience in the cafe was terrible. Taco Tuesday at 12 noon they run out of 5+ items that up make the taco bar. Only meat, cheese and lettuce was left. The problem escalated when the cashier told me I was “entitled” for inquiring about a discount considering they discounted the food. He said “well, you still ordered it”, and even tried to charge me more than the set price. When asked about it he said he was told to charge that price yet adjusted the total to the original amount listed. I spoke with Kevin (manager) to oversee this unacceptable behavior. This service was despicable. As it is acceptable to say no, it is not acceptable to dishonor and disrespect anyone. The attitude was undeserving and unprofessional.

Artis Baskin: My most enjoyable and professional VA visit ever. I am a patient at the Yellow Clinic and had my appointment on FRI 15 APR 2022 w/ Dr. Benton. Routine physical and continued evaluation of service-connected issues. The Medical and Lab Technicians were cheerful, polite and engaging and the Phlebotomist Tsedey was amazing. Great visit...thank you for your service!

Lauren Harcarik: Every *single* time I try to call to make an appointment, I am on hold for 20+ minutes. Several times I have been unexpectedly disconnected - even after speaking with someone - and, thus, have to call and wait again. I have been hung up on at least three times (and I just moved to this area). This is the worst of 4 VA systems at which I have been enrolled to receive care. I needed an appointment for a pap smear, and the patient call operator said, "they are not taking new patients," then hung up on me. Thank god I am not forced to rely strictly on VA healthcare, and I will look elsewhere to receive care; however, there are patients who have no other options, and this answer is completely unacceptable.

Mr. Robinson1911: The worst! We lay our lives in the this country and this is our reward. How does one ask for an appointment in May and we are told that we can be seen in January of the next year. Honestly, I don’t think some of the medical personnel is knowledgeable about their craft and they are numb to what some of us really need. This is apart of the reason all of the armed forces are low on numbers…..who wants to serve a country to be rewarded with care from people who really don’t care about you. We are just numbers and the actions of the staff justify us feeling this way.

Emily Breining: VA - where support staff rides out a fed position & does the least in your favor. #1 Know your patient advocate team, keep track of your doctors(they come & go being in a large city.) Know that as a patient you have rights to accurate documentation & efficient service. Keep the VA accounatble for poor service.

The Washington Travel Clinic: what do users think?

Kojiro So: I needed to travel to Japan the next day, and Dr. Aki knew exactly what I needed including the COVID test certificate and about submitting it to the MySOS app. She was thorough, making sure all the information I needed was there. I got everything I needed within 20 minutes. Highly recommended for anyone with travel related needs.

Jacqueline Raynolds: This is a very straightforward place to get travel vaccines. They give you a receipt that you can use to file an insurance claim yourself, unlike most clinics.

Michael Hutchinson: Great place to get a PCR test for international travel. Book online then show up for your appointment, reception will point you to the second floor where the clinic is. Quick stick up the nose and 15 minutes later you have your results. The clinic provides you with a Travel PCR Certificate with your name, DOB, passport number, test results and a stamped certification.

Ilan Cooper: Amazing service for my appointment today. Worked exactly to plan. Highly recommend for rapid COVID testing.

Larry Weisman: My spouse and I visited Dr. Aki to get a single travel vaccine and a prescription for Malaria medication before traveling to southeast Asia. Dr. Aki was fast, professional, reasonably priced, and very nice. He helped us find coupons to get our generic medication as cheaply as possible in the area and overall the experience was excellent. We were able to book for two next day appointments through his website. He is cheaper, faster and more professional than any other travel clinic I researched. I would highly recommend.

Cyrus Fardoust: my Fiance did her Immigration Medical Exam with Dr. Akl and it was very seamless experience. Dr. Akl was informative regarding the steps that needed to be completed and the most important thing was that my fiance felt very comfortable. His DC office is super clean and acted in an utmost professional manner and when we had questions during off-hours he responded immediately (even on weekends!). I would highly recommend Dr. Akl to anyone looking for the services he offers.

Natasha Hackett: Excellent service. The doctor was able to accommodate a last minute appointment for my family of three because I was traveling from Chesapeake, VA. He was quick and efficient. Also, his prices are reasonable compared to others. I would highly recommend going to this clinic.

S. P.: Super convenient location to get a rapid result Covid test valid for resident/military travel to Japan. You can schedule an appointment online via their website. After taking the test, you wait in the lobby about 15 minutes and they’ll bring out your test result. They even had the form Japan requires on file so completed that for us too. You should bring your original passport with you for the COVID test for travel. Cost was $195 and they do not take insurance but will email you an itemized receipt to submit a claim to your insurance. One tip, the building entrance is not right on Connecticut St., it’s around the corner just next to this Smoothie King.

Dee Njeri: I would not recommend this clinic at all..went there for Covid test I received fake results after15 minutes he gave me positive results. I was not comfortable with the entire process so went for second opinion i tested negative..place also is overpriced $350 for test is ridiculous. Very unprofessional and insensitive Dr
Response: Thank you for your review. PCR tests, in general, are very specific, which means it is extremely rare that a test would be positive in a patient who does not have the virus. False negatives, on the other hand, are more likely. This means that the test that was performed later is more likely to have provided the wrong result. So it is recommended that extra precautions continue to be taken and to isolate for 10 days after the positive result. While we understand that an unexpected result can be distressing, it does not justify going as far as accusing someone of providing a ‘fake’ result.

Sibley Memorial Hospital Emergency Room: what do users think?

Nicole Bertrand: My experience at SMH ER this past week was in one word: Inhumane. For many years my family has loved and been served well by Sibley, and as such we have been glad to both donate to them and solicit donations from others on their behalf. However, my recent experience within their ED was unacceptable. I arrived via ambulance presenting with severe COVID symptoms, including stridor and inability to breath. Upon arrival, I was greeted by an angry nurse berating me with the question of “Why did you come here from Mclean?” I was then left unattended in a room for hours on end, with my oxygen falling to dangerously low levels, alarms sounding, and no one came to check on me. I double checked to see if patient vitals were being monitored behind the nurses station desk: they were NOT. Simply put: my symptoms were made worse from going to the ER and also were not treated. Not once in 5+ hours did someone check on me, apart from to take blood or perform a test. I asked for help to the bathroom and no one ever came so I myself had to unhook all cords, monitoring devices, and IV to go to the bathroom. The only person that acted with any empathy, care, or concern was the ED Doctor. Everyone else was cold, harsh, and dismissive. Nothing about this experience was “compassionate care in a comfortable environment.” The experience was appalling. When I left and was given my paperwork and labs, I was furthermore shocked to find dangerously abnormal labs that were neither discussed with me nor factored into the minimal care that was administered. My PCP was also appalled. Sibley, my family and I are extremely disappointed in you. We expect better. Reader: as once big fans of Sibley, we can confidently say do NOT come here for emergency care. Do yourself a favor and go across the River to Virginia to be treated with compassion, empathy, and competent care.

Alex Navarro: Took my child there for a head injury. I guess they were busy as we were not even triaged for over an hour. However, there were only 3 or four other folks in the waiting room when we arrived and they didn’t even all go back ahead of us. So in an hour 3 people were triaged. This place does not move quickly. So after that wait we we’re “Fast Tracked” meaning we at least got a bed and a little room to wait in for the doctor. Another, small child who was there was sent back to the waiting room with an IV port in his hand!?!? The place was huge and had plenty of open beds. I have no idea why they did that to that poor kid. Another, small child was in with a broken toe. They’d also been waiting for hours only to be told they needed to go to Children’s to actually get any medical attention. We made it out after waiting another hour+ to even be seen by a PA. Then got some X-rays and waited on those. All and all a 5 hour visit with a small child is not ideal but that’s kind of what you get in an ER. I will give it 3 stars for being clean and large. The staff was great although one of the nurses warned me against vaccinating my child which seemed odd. It’s certainly nicer than waiting in Georgetowns ER, but the doctors seemed about the same. Would I go again, maybe. I liked that it felt clean and roomy, but I do feel they could communicate the process more.

Leandro Caroli: If you have an emergency find another hospital. This hospital seems to have wait hours over 8 hours. Priority given to those that arrive through ambulance with real emergency otherwise your placed in the waiting full of people holding. But on the same token good luck finding any hospital in this city with less than at least 6 hour wait. I have no idea what’s going on but it seems like everyone is at the hospital. This is highly frustrating.

Ray Ban: By far the worst and most inefficient ER in the MD/DC/VA region. We came here a few weeks ago because my father was passing out and his BP was 210/88. After spending 12 hours here, they told his head CT showed a subderal hemotoma, which they didn’t have the capacity to deal with here, so he needed to be transferred to Georgetown. We were ok with this, except it was 10 hours later before they transferred him, and he basically sat with no food, blankets or anything, in a daze, with super high blood pressure. He feels loyal to Sibley because his cardiologist is at Sibley, which is part of the Hopkins network. Anyway, now, three weeks later, we’re back at the Sibley ER. His cardiologist wanted him admitted via the ER because he’s having chest pain, nausea, dizziness etc. We got here at 3pm, it’s now midnight and they’re now saying they’re going to discharge him after doing a chest X-ray and blood work….after 9 HOURS! They also keep saying they’re so busy, yet half the ER rooms are empty, and the staff are basically sitting around. If they’re so busy, why haven’t they staffed up? Oh, and in case you’re wondering, he still hasn’t been offered a glass of water after nine hours. I just told him when the doc comes back we’re leaving and we can read the results on his MyChart. Do NOT come to Sibley ER - ANYWHERE is better.

M K: Staff was friendly enough but the wait times were extremely long. I waited over 5 hr in a mostly empty wait room to see a doctor. I then spent over 1.5 hrs in the exam room, during which time I only saw hospital staff twice. I then waited an additional hour to be discharged. I would recommend going a hospital better equipped to deal with patients.

S: After 8.5 hrs they forgot a prescription and without close monitoring would have missed other things. Overall ok on big picture things but I will not take a kid there again. Neither main doc nor nurse impressive. Second doc was fine/better. We’re educated consumers of medical services, ERs can be much better than this. Disappointed in the “John’s Hopkins” brand.

Christopher P: I am a frequent flyer when it comes to ER’s as of late. And am 100% totally please with the entire visit. The front desk staff was pleasant and friendly, quickly got me situated, the check in. The intake nurse took my historyvitals and got me to my ER room. Nurse Nneka was super! And Dr. Rifai was friendly efficient and through. Checked in at 11:30 -blood, x-ray, CT, COVID-19, and existing cancer issues all addressed. Release from Dr. Rifai at 5:30. When I needed something the staff addressed my needs, came quickly when I hit the button, they were all super friendly courteous respectful, and most importantly empathetic to my existing issues and ER visit condition. I have been coming here since April for the oncology - and am now totally impressed with the ER! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+❤️‍

Lisa Elisabeth: Wow the ER staff here were so mean, 4 hour wait and employees at waiting room were unfriendly. It’s so wrong they hire such mean people to deal with vulnerable, scared patients who are suffering health problems. It’s almost an abuse of power over the vulnerable. Please hire friendly, compassionate frontline healthcare workers. Management has a choice if they care. Don’t know about doctors because couldn’t wait 4 hours…

Ronald Demarines: The people you’re caring for are in great hands. Thanks for doing what you do. I would especially like to thank Dr.Hoerster for being attentive to all my needs and for the excellent care and medical advice I received.

London Couture Salon: I’m going to announce that sadly this is not a good review. I wish I could have said something different. I’ve been trying to get an appointment there for over a month now. I’ve made more than 10 calls and it’s back to square one every time. After much observation, I realize that No one there knows anything about the system nor do they communicate with each other from one department to another. That has been made evident as I have left messages, presented referral information, filled out forms and spoke to the manager and coordinators. I don’t know what is going on there but I have lost confidence in their ability to help my daughter who urgently needs care.

Michaela Layne: I’m a nurse and I’m appalled at how this place runs. Currently here and my husband is having a major 4-6 hour surgery and I’m not allowed to go back to anesthesia holding with him to ask questions per Covid restrictions. An employee just pointed me in the direction of surgery waiting room and said it’s right there. Nothing like you will get a call, here is a number to watch a board to show where he is at, someone will update etc. all because of Covid restrictions. I work at the largest Level 1 trauma center in Virginia and our Covid policies are 10x better than here. Also, their “updated” Covid policy is from December 2021. Not acceptable.

C H: Not only is it a pain to drive 2 hours away as active duty but the service and care is not good at all. The hoops you have to go through just to get an appointment and you have to keep reaping just to get another appointment or service. I completely understand what our Veterans go through because as an active duty serviceman it has been a nightmare dealing with medical centers in Maryland. We have preferences and the service is still mediocre. The fact that you can talk to someone there, have a problem and them not care how to help you take care of it is the reason why service member HATE dealing with medical. Nothing has changed for me in over 20 years!

Lawrence Westcott: My visit with Dr. Oyakhi Omoike in physical therapy and Dr. Abraham Sabersky in Nerosurgery was one of the most pleasant and productive medical experiences that I have had in some 72 years. Dr. O took the time to explain my situation after my recovery and physical therapies that I all ready received. He is very good and I would recommend him to anyone. Dr. Sabersky was my surgeon for surgery on my spine last year and all my followups with him have been outstanding. He is a great surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone. Thank you Dr. Sabersky and Dr Omoike, Lawrence Westcott

Ananda Owens: Great service here, they are the epitome of a professional health care experience. Very kind and attentive workers.

Psychiatric Institute of Washington: what do users think?

Andrea: Grateful for this place to exist. I came in as a walk in off the street because I needed help that minute. It was experience here that the vast majority of the staff went above and beyond in every way they could think of to make myself as a patient comfortable and cared for. The minute I walked into admissions I felt cared for and that I did not have to handle it alone any more. Shout out to Hazel for seeing what I needed and giving me her own water bottle when I had not had anything to eat or drink till I walked in. Margo who did my intake interview was so amazingly sympathetic to what I had been going through. It felt so good to be validated. Then I went up to unit 7 and met Gary who I would later see be a phenomenal caretaker for all my fellow patients on the unit. From keeping calm when someone displayed extreme behavior to joking and finding ways to give us a therapeutic experience. The taker for me was when my roommate had a panic attack and I asked for ice to help calm her. He could not give me the packs they had for safety reasons but he came up with a wonderful solution. Showing again that true passion and care for our wellbeing. Thank you all for the work you do everyday.
Response: Thank you for your kind words, Andrea! Shout-outs like this are so meaningful to our team and we will be sure to pass your comments along. Thank you again and take care!

Aliyah Boyce: I will never send my loved one to this facility ever again. Please do not send your loved ones here. Worst than prison. Staff is rude and disrespectful even management of the program. This place is terrible. Violates every protocol because they can get away with it. The state should shut this place down immediately! If I can rate 0 stars I would. This is a inhumane treatment center. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!!!
Response: Hi, Aliyah. Thank you for your feedback. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your concerns. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/. We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you again.

Sandra Jacinto: If your loved one is admitted here, you won’t be able to communicate with them. My brother was admitted three days ago and I’ve yet to hear anything. In the times that I’ve called I’ve experienced the following: - straight to voicemail - operator says they don’t know the unit number and won’t be able to figure it out - being transferred to a dead end - person says they’ll take my number then immediately hangs up on me - first time I called they told me that his sister already called that morning. False. I’m his only sister and I never called before. I was successful in giving my name and number once and ANOTHER PATIENT CALLED ME BACK. They gave my number to the wrong patient. This is a psychiatric institute. You’d think they’d be careful with who they give messages to for obvious reasons. Clearly they didn’t vet if that patient knows me. I know that there are some good staff members there but the majority of them don’t care and shouldn’t be in this job. There are horror stories about this place how they let patients freely walk around and get in fights. It’s scary that he’s in there and can’t be reached. I don’t trust this place at all.
Response: Hi, Sandra. Thank you for reaching out to us. We would like to take the opportunity to address your concerns with you directly. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/ so that we can follow up with you. Thank you again and we hope to hear from you soon.

Kyrah Ford: Zero stars don’t recommend, this place was very unhelpful and mad things worst. Some of the male staff was just creeps and was doing inappropriate things! I highly encourage you to never send anyone to this hospital. worst experience ever!

Mason Mailloux: If I could rate this institution 0 stars I would. Some of the staff are genuine good people but about 80% of them don’t seem to care at all about the “patients” when it’s really just a scam for insurance and Medicaid. There is no security however there are physical fights every day. They hardly feed you and when they do it’s worse than jail food, The group therapy is a joke 45min out of the 24 sleepless hours in a day. No one in their right mind would ever want to get admitted here.
Response: Hi, Mason. Thank you for your feedback. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your concerns. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/. We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you again.

Jessica Fullington: If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction and/or mental health, this is an EXCELLENT place to receive help. The staff is truly exceptional and very compassionate! I was in TERRIBLE condition when I was brought to the facility. The expert level care that I received made it possible for me to return to my normal life in just one week. They even made sure that I had a solid plan to continue my care once I was discharged. I would urge ANYONE who is looking for this type of assistance to go to this wonderful place. Hopefully, I will never need them again. God bless
Response: Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Jessica! We are so glad that you found our staff to be supportive and friendly. We appreciate the kind words and we hope you are doing well!

Cam N: This place needs to be shut down immediately, no care or respect for patients. Disregard for health and sanity. Food is terrible, showers are ice cold. Employees force religious beliefs. Not profesional what so ever
Response: Hi, Cam. Thank you for your feedback. We would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about your concerns. At your convenience, please provide us with your contact information by visiting https://reptn.io/BwAfZ1AaQfA. We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you again.

Mary Moaney: If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would staff does not communicate with parents of children patients. Patients are fighting no security no control no organization etc. My daughter had a panic attack and no one found her. No organization with medications etc. Absolutely worst place to send your children. If you actually care about your children do NOT send them here.
Response: Hi, Mary. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your concerns. We take your comments very seriously and would like to learn more about your concerns. Due to federal patient privacy laws, we can only discuss care with a patient or guardian; however, we encourage you to reach out to us directly by visiting http://www.psychinstitute.com/contact-us/. Eli M Guio (Eli Guio): Stephanie NRH, dedication give me hope that perhaps, I can recover and walk again with her help and encouragement. It is being years did not felt that way. A very long time that I finally regain my possibilities to overcome and heal to be able to normalize my walk, after so many traumatic surgeries. Thank You, Jessica you too.
Response: Eli, thank you for your kind words. We are truly thrilled that you have seen so much improvement following your physical therapy sessions with us. It was our pleasure to support and encourage you each step of the way. We will surely share your kind words with Stephanie and Jessica. Keep up the amazing work!

Mary Noonan: I had a very good experience at this facility. Laurie Rogers worked with me to help alleviate the effects of arthritis in my thumb joints. We made a lot of progress in a short time. The lady really knows her stuff!
Response: Mary, thank you for letting us know that you had a positive experience. We're happy to have you as a patient here at MedStar Health!

Sylvia Winik: To my gastroenterologist: Just want to thank you very much for recommending Rene Lawson. She is, indeed, terrific. She is compassionate, very clear, doesn’t shy away from the nasty stuff (both physically and verbally), and made me quite comfortable about having to talk about all sorts of very private stuff. She also responds very quickly to messages. AND … my results are stupendous! Once I started doing colon massages once a day (no big deal at all) (as well as using a “Squatty Potty (or my grandkids’ stool)), I began going every single day. This has continued for roughly 5 - 6 weeks and counting. 😎
Response: Sylvia, thank you for sharing your feedback. It was our pleasure to do everything we could to set you up for success in reaching your physical therapy goals. We will surely share your kind words with Rene so that she can be recognized for her outstanding care and service to you. Thank you for choosing MedStar Health. We wish you all the very best!
