Nick Pallotta: We hired Charles to coordinate our event. He was awesome and worked really hard. Spent a lot of time with people helping them improve their game.

Saeed Dornajafi: My brother and I have been taking beginner classes here, and regularly rent courts to practice. We’ve been very happy with our coach, Yared, and have enjoyed the facilities and the location. The staff is very nice. Vernon at the front desk is always very helpful.

Fitzgerald Tennis Center: what do users think?

Zia: The Citi Open is when this place comes to life! Other than that it stays pretty empty year round. For tennis lovers the courts are well maintained. I would love to see it used more than just once a year.

Anna Johnson (TropicAna): Visited the park for City Open 2017. Awesome experience. The only, parking for regular guests was very unorganized. We drove all the way from Hampton, VA and then we need to go find parking and take a bus to the tournament. But the park is awesome, courts are great. Good experience

J.Brytni B: Such a nice place. I had no idea they offered so much. Including a gym, gift shop, and plenty of vendors.

Mukaram Syed: Nice setup and friendly staff.

Victoria Hübenthal: 🎾 awesome place to exercise your tennis energy!!

Brandon Wiebusch: The courts at Fitzgerald Tennis Center are great. The clay courts are a lot of fun and the hard courts are nice as well. If you are interested in training Charles is the guy to see. My tennis game has improved tremendously since I started working with him. 5 Stars!!!

Kevin Humphreys: We have been members for 10+ years. Super fun summer pool that also offers spring and fall swimming programs in the heated pool for adults and kids. The swim team has so many fun events for the kids, oh, and they also swim in practices and meets. I swim masters there and it is a great group of swimmers.

Rock Creek Tennis Stadium: what do users think?

Alexandra Ritchie: Was able to park on or near 14th St and walk a few blocks. Very clean space, friendly staff, well organized. Good views even in the cheaper seats!

Emilie K: Came for Citi Open finals with the hopes to see Nadal. Unfortunately he didn’t make it to the end of the tournament but it finals were great! Great stadium! If any out of towners are watching a game over the summer, don’t forget sunscreen and a hat!

Sheng L: We saw the men’s semis (Nishikori vs M. McDonald) and women’s final (Gauf vs Pegula) matches last night. There is is so little information anywhere about what to expect so I had to scour through reviews from Trip Advisor, Yelp, etc. from years past. Make sure to sign up for the Citi Open emails as it’ll tell you when gates open for your sessions and provide an estimated schedule on the day of your tickets. Go to Twitter for real time updates. Our tickets said 7 pm but the men’s match that evening actually started around 6:30 pm. We were lucky enough to get a parking space at a restaurant a block away that didn’t have a time limit/zone restrictions, etc. Beware that parking for all the nearby neighborhoods becomes restricted so you need a special permit to park. Parking Lot B, which is the lot that’s on the grounds is all grass, in case it’s raining on the day of your session. Getting through the ticket line and security was quick and easy. The bag checks were merely a formality and they don’t dig around in your bag at all. Your tickets say they must be printed but I saw plenty of people getting in with the one on their phones. If you have a Citi credit card, bring it with you. You get 10% off for all purchases using your Citi card, as well as access to the Citi lounge, which is air conditioned and has TVs showing the matches. Make sure you have your Citi card out as they’ll ask for it. Only one person in your group needs to show their Citi card. You’ll be given a blue wristband so you can re-enter as you please. Freebies in the Citi lounge are: radio earbud so you can listen to commentaries about the matches, all snacks, water, soda and Gatorade. The only thing you have to pay for in the Citi lounge is alcohol but you automatically get 10% off even if you don’t use a Citi card. There were two other large, covered tents that sold a little bit of food and alcohol. Lines can get long. My boyfriend paid $13 for a 24oz can of Miller Lite. On the opposite end (think it was called the Market Square) is a cafeteria where you can just grab food and pay. I got an Impossible burger, chicken sandwich and bottle of water for $40. My burger was cold and gross but my bf said his chicken sandwich was ok. Other food options in the cafeteria were pizzas, onion rings, chicken fingers/waffle fries combo and hotdogs. Also, there was an attendant in the ladies bathroom who took tips (European style). She wasn’t handing you soap, perfume, feminine products but she was keeping the bathroom clean. The women’s line was very long so just make sure to go during a match. No attendant in the men’s bathroom though. As for the actual matches, there really isn’t a bad seat. We could only get tickets for the very last row of the nosebleed seats and even those weren’t bad. Figuring out your row was a bit tricky as the rows lettering wasn’t very clear. We were in Section 10 and halfway through the men’s match when two new ticket holders showed up, the guys below us figured out they weren’t even in the right section. I will have to say it takes awhile to focus on the match as we could hear all the noises outside of the court but maybe that’s because we were up so high. Also, there was a doubles match going on in the other court and we could hear everything the announcer said. Most of the seats on the second level were bleachers but the section behind the camera man were fold up chairs and so we’re all the seats on the first level, box seats. Some people brought cushions and even though we were on the bleachers, we didn’t think cushions were necessary. The staff was very nice and it was very quick and easy to get to our seats. All in all, a decent experience.

Jonás Porcar Ferrer: Cozy stadium. Great to enjoy tennis at the Citi open, very close to the action. The lavatories need an urgent renovation

Tejas Dave: It was a life time opportunity to see Rafa Nadal at CitiOpen 2021.

Eric Diaz: Great tennis venue. Bathrooms were not clean and very old but the rest of grounds were nice.

Northwest Sport&Health: what do users think?

Gregory Cork: FITNESS AND FELLOWSHIP IN UPPER NORTHWEST DC If you work out, every once in a while you find that memorable gym – the place where not only your fitness soared, but so did your spirits when you walked in the door. Northwest Sport&Health (NWSH) is that kind of gym. It’s a given that any quality gym will have the equipment and amenities you need to get and stay in shape. NWSH certainly has all that: two floors, with cardio equipment, a bike spin room, and studios for all kinds of classes up top (and a full and varied weekly fitness schedule); and two thoroughly-equipped weight rooms downstairs – all the machines you’ll need plus plenty of free weights, including two Smith racks. But the essential, even ineffable factor always is the fitness staff. And on this count, NWSH is terrific. Led by General Manager Moses Robinson and Fitness Director Alex Switzky, these folks are professional, knowledgeable, attentive, supportive, engaging, courteous – and not only fun, but funny. (Make sure to ask Moses about The Smolder.) Most important to me personally was that NWSH served as a haven for me through most of the COVID-19 pandemic. Working out at NWSH (yes, with a mask), and hanging with the team and the people I got to know at the gym, came to be the anchor of my day. It was what I most looked forward to, each day, in a bizarre time – a time that otherwise would have lacked air and connection, and that would have meant isolation for this active person. I always will remember and be grateful to NWSH for that critical time and for their collective generosity of spirit.

Tala K: Northwest Sport and Health is the perfect gym. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is always clean and has everything you need. Great instructors and all types of fitness classes and training available. The kids’ club is our favorite. The caregivers are experienced and caring, you can enjoy your workout without a worry. Love this place and highly recommend. Thank you!

Donna Rosen: I have been a member of Northwest Sport and Health for 10+ years. I like this gym for exercise because it is laid back, but has excellent equipment and a diverse membership. I have worked with several Personal Trainers at this gym. All were good, but John Vallimarescu is one of the best Personal Trainers I have ever had. He is very careful to address the unique needs of each client. He pushes you but does not exert excessive pressure -- perfect balance. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an outstanding Personal Trainer at NW S&H.

University Club: what do users think?

Nabou Fall: What a club! Delicious food, friendly atmosphere, i loved the mouthwash in the bathroom, the possibilities are unlimited. Only open to members though.

Douglas Bonner: Wonderful historic private club founded by President Taft in the heart of Washington DC, 3 blocks north of the White House. Athletic facilities, meeting rooms and fine dining. Love using the indoor pool.

Danny Donovan: Great spot that I have stayed multiple times. I am not part of the club and a member would have to book a room for a guest. All rooms I have stayed in are great. There is or at least was an older section of rooms (Possibly renovated by now) that were still very nice but just a bit older. I have attended private parties in the library, an absolutely fabulous room! I have also used the gym which was nice as well. Great location, walking distance to many restaurants as well as the White House and surrounding monuments.

John L. Berghout: Great atmosphere and ambiance. Always a treat to dine here.

Meaghan Hogan: Exceptional customer service and hospitality at this private club. I had the pleasure of being a provisional member this summer, and, though I did not elect to continue my membership, I enjoyed my experience. Service was given with a smile, and staff were professional. Food was excellent and drinks were poured correctly (and strong!). Lots of ways to get involved at this club, no matter where your interests lie.

Linda Chang: Beautiful place, food & drinks are great. I enjoyed myself.

Joachim Schlange: Top place to stay in DC, great location. However, it seems that one needs a member to book a room. Excellent service, good kitchen, in particular the breakfast! Go to the roof with a drink and enjoy the view!

RevDr John Trigilio: Taft Dining Room is THE place to bring someone for that special dinner or just to be with good friends. There is a formal and a casual dining rooms. Both have 5 star food. Chocolate soufflé is best in entire USA. One of the few places left with dress code and silent cell phone policy. How civilized

Malik Siraj Akbar: An excellent social club, with several great facilities, including beautiful, large and luxurious dining halls, a gym and a squash hall. They offer accommodations to their members with a reasonable price at a central location. It is a great club for people who move to Washington D.C. newly and are looking to expand their professional and personal networks by wanting to meet new people. They have a diverse membership which means people from different backgrounds and professions are members of the club.

REI Co-op: what do users think?

Michael Brown: As a company, REI should not inflict their political beliefs onto customers. That said, they carry good gear and this particular location is fantastic. Every time I have come here they have exactly what I need. The staff are friendly and helpful and generally knowledgeable. I don’t know who makes REI branded clothes and gear, but they do a good job.

Mike R: I like this store for so many reasons. First: they have excellent customer service. Today I walked in with my bike to get my flat tire fixed. A woman approached me and signed me in. Then a man walked up to me and asked if I would like to him to park my bike. I was appalled by this gesture. Second: This establishment has everything here. I mean like… leave that bike area if you want to. You will be buying anything from energy gel to underwear. Third: conveniently located right beside the metro.

Anne Probst: Thank you Jeremy in cycling for taking care of my bike I commute on. Haley assisted and was down to earth and happy. High five to Micah in footwear who helped me find a size in a scarpa I haven’t been able to find in stores in 4 years. He’s super knowledgeable and was connecting with all the customers. Thank you REI DC!

Louisa Buatti: I visited REI for the first time since the pandemic began. My pick up of an online order went very smoothly. Every staff person I encountered was friendly and helpful--they all offered to direct me to the customer service/pick up area. I was in and out of the store in a flash.

Pete: The employees were very friendly and very helpful. Glad I was able to find a Tennis shoes for my Dad for early Fathers Day gift.

Ted Kroos: Great place to pick up Tennis racquet 🎾, shoes, racquet restring. Nice people!!! Great location!

Anthony: My tennis teacher recommended me come here to get the perfect racket for me. There service was amazing. Once we came in we were greeted by them. We were brought over to the racket section. They showed us all kinds of rackets and there prices. They were honest with which may fit me best. Overall there customer service is amazing. I would come by here again once I grow out of the one I have now.

Krishna Samavedam: Got few rackets few months ago and got strung there. IT was a good experience. I went back to get restrung one of the racket and I specifically told them that I need Head - Synthetic - BLACK and 54lb. Update: My wife e.mailed and the owner responded immediately and took care of it.

Benjamin Chàgúzàghà: Simply the best tennis store in the DC area. They even have a good selection of used rackets for people on a budget. Excellent turnaround time on stringing. Also, a variety of tennis fashion, accessories and a good line up of foot wear. Clean, organized and friendly.

Lake Fairfax Park: what do users think?

It’s me Charzi: A very big park and a very good for camping. You have plenty of activity to do within the park and there is separate campground where you do your camping with your family. Over the weekends saw school kids camping with their family and was looking so good. Heard from friends that is safe to camp .

Litzy Aguilar: Beautiful & relaxing lake. Perfect place for camping, RV parking, skatepark, hiking trails, grills everywhere, and a water park.

Rana Emad: So much to do there! There’s the lake that’s always serene (but you might have to go early when there aren’t a lot of people since they can play music pretty loud). There’s many skate boarding ramps. There’s a massive area for camping (both tents and RVs). It’s a great location since it’s close to the “city” but far enough to be immersed in nature. They have a nice bathroom area as well as porta-potties scattered around. They’re almost always clean. The camping grounds we’ve used range from being next to someone else’s tent to being pretty far away from the next lot. You have to reserve an area if you plan on spending the night.

Russell M: Lake Fairfax is a gem. If you guessed that there is a lake, you are correct, but that’s just the start. There is a very cool water park that is great for kids. There are a bunch of soccer fields, baseball fields, but there is also a cricket field. Not easy to find those around here. A nice little skate park for the little shredders, and a great campground that is very popular in the warmer months. The Fairfax Cross County Connector trail also goes right through the park, anchoring a green network of mountain bike trails. There are plenty of fun rock gardens, roots, twists and turns that make riding here a blast, and there is a very cool jump/flow trail being built very close to the little pump track that I can’t wait to try out.

Doug Marcks: Crowded but fun. Get there early to get a spot with an umbrella. You can purchase food or bring your own which is a plus. Lots of lifeguards and it seemed they were actually paying attention. The kids loved it.

Oak Marr Rec Center: what do users think?

Shante Freeman: Plenty of grass and turf field area. Practice your good swing. Good playground facilities for kids. Pool. Exercise room. Classes. Everything you need in a local rec.

David Zlo: Nice place to spend a few hours with your family. Children love it and adults can enjoy the pool or hot tub. I would recommend have your own water and snacks.

Viska Marchelen Widyaastuti: I come here to spend my weekend at the indoor swimming pool. It facilitate a hot tub close to the pool so you can take a break little bit or just warm your body up. There are some guardian who will stay there in case someone need help. This place is clean and big, it also welcoming birthday party for kids. One thing that also important that, the people are nice and helpful.

Elizabeth A: Great pool! Only negative is there needs to be more lanes for lap swimming on the weekends.

Penny Schaefer: If you have mobility challenges, getting in and out of the pool can take some extra effort. The pool temperature is comfortable. There are many lanes, but on my visits, it was hard to find an open spot. Many are reserved for lessons. The locker rooms are a bit dated and in need of a little maintenance, but they provide ample space and areas for dressing and shower privacy. Lockers require quarters, not locks, but they are large and plentiful.

Karen Cullen: 1st Mini Golf of the season. Course needs a bit maintenance but still lots of Fun!

Wanda Cruz: Nice place to hang at. My child had fun. Robert Arguinzoni treated us kind and generous!

Cbrx: I really like this place as the membership is reasonably priced for its pool. It isn’t too crowded at the right times, and you are provided with a schedule of when the pool is open to public. The only complaints I have are that the showers do not have curtains, the beach area is dirty, and the water is cold. You get used to it after a bit though.

Stoonookw: Omg Brett is amazing helper and needs a raise like today. Elise is also amazing but I think I spoke with Brett the majority of the time. So I basically bought everything that I needed at this REI and was extremely satisfied with the equipment, price tags, and of course the service. I felt bad like I was taking too long to decide on which equipment I was going to buy, but after dropping over 1k at the store and getting a lot of pro tips, I now love the REI experience

XAVIER AGNELLI: I go to REI quite often and I have to say the Bailey’s crossroads is always one of my favorites because of the staff. Today I had a great experience with Sam, who was in the floor. He approached me and asked me if I found everything that I was looking for to which my answer was no and he helps me track down the item that I want at the store in DC he called ahead had them hold it and then called me and told me that they’re holding it for me so that I could go pick it up at the DC location. Sam went above and beyond and is a perfect example of the generally good experience that I have when I am at the Baileys crossroads location. Thanks Sam!

Kimberly R: I wanted to say thank you to Ryan M. and Janice B. for fixing my foot pain! They are the shoe/foot experts at REI! I came in with horrible foot pain and blisters just after walking only a few miles. They discovered that I was wearing shoes 1 size too small (!) and were able to recommend a great brand of shoe to give me more room in the toe box (Altra Shoes). Ever since I wore the shoes they recommended I have had ZERO foot pain or blisters. They saved my feet. Thank you to Ryan and Janice!

Parker Lowe: SAM did a great job helping me pick out a large variety of gear the last time I shopped here. 10/10 experience, now I recommend this location to everyone I know.

Pine Valley Swim & Tennis Club: what do users think?

Caitlin Deremeik: I’ve been going to Pine Valley since I was a child. The paddle sports are amazing, filled with such fun people! You can find a league that suits your ability level, competition needs, and day/time for paddle or tennis. Pickleball is a newer addition and Pine Valley has added extra courts to accommodate this quickly growing sport. As for the pools; there is something for everyone. Whether you have a family, or are just an adult, there are pools perfect for you! Again, the regulars are the best people and are welcoming to anyone coming in to hang out (especially in the adult relaxing pool). I cannot day enough about this amazing family run oasis! Go check it out. You won’t be disappointed!

hoss a: My fiancé and I have been members of Pine Valley for two years and I have been a guest for about 6 years. I cannot say enough how much I agree with the Pine Valley motto: A day at Pine Valley is like a day on vacation. With a water slide pool, alligator crossing pool, kiddie pool, adult relaxation pool, water battle pool, and the huge main pool, there is something for every member of the family. If you love the sun, there is plenty of sun. If you prefer the shade, there is plenty of shade. This place maintains a family atmosphere but also has places for adults to be away from kids if you prefer that. The price of membership gives you Big Bang for your buck. We look forward to our time spent there.

Justin Lampert: One of the best swim clubs I’ve been to. My kids love this place. There’s plenty of room on the pool decks and I can always find a good spot to relax while my kids have fun

Jim Loftus: Best family swim & summer time playground in the area.Bonus is tennis, platform & pickleball. The absolute best club in the area...plus the value of membership makes it even better! Join PV now!!! Do it!!!

Mark Holtschneider: My family and I enjoy spending time at Pine Valley. The frog pool and triple loop slide are fun. We also like playing tennis, paddle tennis and table tennis. The people are really nice.

ellicott mills: Family friendly. They raise prices way too much. Otherwise great place.

Belle Haven Country Club: what do users think?

Michelle Jafari: Nice facility, there for an event. Parking is available but can be a little distance from the door. Event room is nice with ample light and doors/ windows to the exterior. Food and service was ok

Rod Hobbs: Every year my car club has had their annual event at Belle Haven Country Club to start off our regional activities. And every year we have had it, the meal has been excellent. The staff from the valet parking at the front door and the coat check to the unobtrusive servers in the back have always done a fabulous job. The meal was a buffet brunch that served everything from salads to biscuits and bacon with an omelet station and finished up with some out of this world desserts. Every year we all look forward to coming back.

Lorena Malone: They forbade me from drinking wine in my flip flops while swinging a golf club. Otherwise I highly recommend.

Kipp burgoyne: Great food. Beautiful facilities.

Lee Dunn: Beautiful facilities with kind and gracious staff. Food is very good and can be tailored to your needs. The menu labels gluten free options well. The pool area is family friendly and the various events and programs here are well run. Excellent staff and management.

Vicky and Snickers Anderson: Attended iNOVA award dinner and dance here at BHCC. The ambience was lovely. Service impeccable the food was good too. The large table sat 9 of us comfortably. The entire room was full of team members and their spouses.

Lee Dunn: Always a great experience at a wonderful property with an amazing staff that cares deeply about the club and its members. Wonderful spot for an event or wedding.

RoseyValentine: Worked on a wedding there as a coordinator and I must say the main house is gorgeous and the staff are all wonderful and hard workers. Fantastic place to host an event.
