East Potomac Tennis Center: what do users think?

Hubert Shang: Plenty of great hard and clay courts at a beautiful location, but as others have stated—awful service. It’s almost like they don’t want you to use their courts. It’s almost impossible to reach someone on the phone to make reservations. They either need an online booking system or someone consistently at the front desk to field reservation requests.

Chanpen Tee: Clay courts are ok but there are many cracks on hard courts. The staff is nice and helpful. A lot of parking spots

Mikel Ortiz Fernández: Worst service you can expect. No response to emails at all, unjustified extra charges. I recommend that you find somewhere else to play/take tennis classes.

Nick Pallotta: We hired Charles to coordinate our event. He was awesome and worked really hard. Spent a lot of time with people helping them improve their game.

Nicole Stroner: This set of indoor courts is among the dirtiest I’ve ever played on. So much grit on the floor makes the ball bounce slowly, and suspends time for shot. More like a clay court than hard court. If you want hard court, would not play here again.

Saeed Dornajafi: My brother and I have been taking beginner classes here, and regularly rent courts to practice. We’ve been very happy with our coach, Yared, and have enjoyed the facilities and the location. The staff is very nice. Vernon at the front desk is always very helpful.

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: Is excellent place for indoor tennis lots of parking available.

Ross Farley: Courts are good but the service is really terrible. The staff make you feel as if they’re doing you a favor getting you a court - which you pay for. They also left us waiting at the counter into the hour while they meandered about chatting to people.

Christian Karasiewicz: They have clay and hard courts. The courts aren't well maintained and it can be difficulty to reach staff to make an appointment or find out about weather conditions and court closings. Parking is also limited as bikers tend to think they can park in the lot specifically reserved for the tennis courts because it's convenient for them.

David Halliday: Great for what it is. Don't expect 5-star service, but the courts are pretty good and the prices are generally good. The clay courts feel overpriced. Indoor is a good value.

Fitzgerald Tennis Center: what do users think?

Zia: The Citi Open is when this place comes to life! Other than that it stays pretty empty year round. For tennis lovers the courts are well maintained. I would love to see it used more than just once a year.

Anna Johnson (TropicAna): Visited the park for City Open 2017. Awesome experience. The only, parking for regular guests was very unorganized. We drove all the way from Hampton, VA and then we need to go find parking and take a bus to the tournament. But the park is awesome, courts are great. Good experience

J.Brytni B: Such a nice place. I had no idea they offered so much. Including a gym, gift shop, and plenty of vendors.

Davell501: Great courts but need lights for most of the courts and stadium NEEPS an update

Mukaram Syed: Nice setup and friendly staff.

Karl Van Neste: I enjoyed the tennis. They have improved the venue over the years and with Nadal, they are getting better talent. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Be ready to eat food that was processed hours earlier and shipped from one area to another. And, be prepared to spend top dollar on it. $14 for a large beer. $16 for chicken nuggets and cold hard fries. The weather can also be hot, so be sure to wear sun tan lotion. The web site is only partially accurate; its links are average (some pointing to the previous year) and it isn't updated in a timely manner. Lastly, they don't do a good job showing scores on other courts. They used to do a better job of this.

Stephanie Turner: No place to sit down! There are no benches around the venue to rest. No doubt you are meant to go in one of the food place where you're pressured to buy something. Also, not much in the merch tent. Miss the Citi Open of old!

Victoria Hübenthal: 🎾 awesome place to exercise your tennis energy!!

Brandon Wiebusch: The courts at Fitzgerald Tennis Center are great. The clay courts are a lot of fun and the hard courts are nice as well. If you are interested in training Charles is the guy to see. My tennis game has improved tremendously since I started working with him. 5 Stars!!!

Michael Burton: Very poor front desk management. I tried several times to call the front desk to cancel a lesson well in advance because I knew you had to cancel at least 24 hours in advance in order to get a credit for a makeup lesson. Sadly, I couldn't reach anyone until the day of the lesson because no one ever answered the phone in the days prior. When I finally reached someone I was denied a credit because I canceled on the day of the lesson even after I explained I had no luck reaching anyone before the 24-hour cutoff after making several attempts. If you're gonna have a front desk, be there. If you're gonna have a phone, answer it.

Old Farm Swim & Paddle Tennis Club: what do users think?

Robert Follit: A great club for all seasons!FINS swim team is first rate and lots of fun for kids who want to develop for competitive swimming in high school and college. Many fond memories for our family over 30 years1

Douglas Stewart: We have been members of Old Farm Swim Club for many years and have always enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, friendly, social vibe and well-maintained pool. The summer swim team offers many wonderful opportunities for the kids to improve their swimming and make new friends.

Kevin Humphreys: We have been members for 10+ years. Super fun summer pool that also offers spring and fall swimming programs in the heated pool for adults and kids. The swim team has so many fun events for the kids, oh, and they also swim in practices and meets. I swim masters there and it is a great group of swimmers.

Mark Friedman: My family has been members here for many years, and it is still the best place for families to go in the summer. Great staff, fun and safe atmosphere. They do a lot of activities for all ages all summer long so always something going on. Plus Pickleball and Paddle Tennis courts!

elizabeth riel: The best place to spend summers. Family, friends and fun! Kids movie nights, adult parties, adult swim lanes, heated pool, pickle & paddle tennis, and a terrific swim team!

ED STAUNTON: Terrific Swim program for all ages, even Srs. I love the Pickle and Paddle facilities also. They have great leagues also, very competitive.

Colby R. Humphreys: Love the swim team and all the fun events. GOOF!

Joyce Coco: Was an unusually quiet day at the pool which was great as we had a small family get together there and we all had a good time. The kids and the adults.

Steve Spencer: Only outdoor heated pool around so that's a plus

Mark Bernstein: Great outdoor pool for the kids!

Rock Creek Tennis Stadium: what do users think?

Alexandra Ritchie: Was able to park on or near 14th St and walk a few blocks. Very clean space, friendly staff, well organized. Good views even in the cheaper seats!

Emilie K: Came for Citi Open finals with the hopes to see Nadal. Unfortunately he didn’t make it to the end of the tournament but it finals were great! Great stadium! If any out of towners are watching a game over the summer, don’t forget sunscreen and a hat!

Sheng L: We saw the men’s semis (Nishikori vs M. McDonald) and women’s final (Gauf vs Pegula) matches last night. There is is so little information anywhere about what to expect so I had to scour through reviews from Trip Advisor, Yelp, etc. from years past. Make sure to sign up for the Citi Open emails as it’ll tell you when gates open for your sessions and provide an estimated schedule on the day of your tickets. Go to Twitter for real time updates. Our tickets said 7 pm but the men’s match that evening actually started around 6:30 pm. We were lucky enough to get a parking space at a restaurant a block away that didn’t have a time limit/zone restrictions, etc. Beware that parking for all the nearby neighborhoods becomes restricted so you need a special permit to park. Parking Lot B, which is the lot that’s on the grounds is all grass, in case it’s raining on the day of your session. Getting through the ticket line and security was quick and easy. The bag checks were merely a formality and they don’t dig around in your bag at all. Your tickets say they must be printed but I saw plenty of people getting in with the one on their phones. If you have a Citi credit card, bring it with you. You get 10% off for all purchases using your Citi card, as well as access to the Citi lounge, which is air conditioned and has TVs showing the matches. Make sure you have your Citi card out as they’ll ask for it. Only one person in your group needs to show their Citi card. You’ll be given a blue wristband so you can re-enter as you please. Freebies in the Citi lounge are: radio earbud so you can listen to commentaries about the matches, all snacks, water, soda and Gatorade. The only thing you have to pay for in the Citi lounge is alcohol but you automatically get 10% off even if you don’t use a Citi card. There were two other large, covered tents that sold a little bit of food and alcohol. Lines can get long. My boyfriend paid $13 for a 24oz can of Miller Lite. On the opposite end (think it was called the Market Square) is a cafeteria where you can just grab food and pay. I got an Impossible burger, chicken sandwich and bottle of water for $40. My burger was cold and gross but my bf said his chicken sandwich was ok. Other food options in the cafeteria were pizzas, onion rings, chicken fingers/waffle fries combo and hotdogs. Also, there was an attendant in the ladies bathroom who took tips (European style). She wasn’t handing you soap, perfume, feminine products but she was keeping the bathroom clean. The women’s line was very long so just make sure to go during a match. No attendant in the men’s bathroom though. As for the actual matches, there really isn’t a bad seat. We could only get tickets for the very last row of the nosebleed seats and even those weren’t bad. Figuring out your row was a bit tricky as the rows lettering wasn’t very clear. We were in Section 10 and halfway through the men’s match when two new ticket holders showed up, the guys below us figured out they weren’t even in the right section. I will have to say it takes awhile to focus on the match as we could hear all the noises outside of the court but maybe that’s because we were up so high. Also, there was a doubles match going on in the other court and we could hear everything the announcer said. Most of the seats on the second level were bleachers but the section behind the camera man were fold up chairs and so we’re all the seats on the first level, box seats. Some people brought cushions and even though we were on the bleachers, we didn’t think cushions were necessary. The staff was very nice and it was very quick and easy to get to our seats. All in all, a decent experience.

Raland Brooks: It's a great way to spend time either watch and learn the game of tennis

Jonás Porcar Ferrer: Cozy stadium. Great to enjoy tennis at the Citi open, very close to the action. The lavatories need an urgent renovation

Tejas Dave: It was a life time opportunity to see Rafa Nadal at CitiOpen 2021.

Dean Pugh: This has been a great venue for hosting the Citi Open in prior years, but it needs some maintenance. Also, there is a need for more space for additional vendors and seating in the kiosk/food service areas.

Jennifer Fang: Went here for Citi Open. The event and everything inside was great - very friendly and helpful staff, good security, and clean facilities all over. We had a good time moseying around the stadium/courts, getting food and drinks, and hanging out with friends. It was a pretty chill atmosphere overall. The only issue we had was with parking. The parking lots filled up very quickly, there were huge lines just to get in, and there were no signs or notices that the lot was full until we got to the front of the line and spoke to the workers individually. We ended up having to go 15 min down the road to another building's parking lot, but the event staff did have shuttle buses arranged to take ppl to and from the event, which was nice since parking in DC is a nightmare. I just wish there was a way to notify ppl beforehand ("lot full" on the marquee, signs in the road, info on website, etc.). Any kind of forewarning would've drastically shortened the parking line, as it was only long bc the staff had to go speak to every car individually.

Eric Diaz: Great tennis venue. Bathrooms were not clean and very old but the rest of grounds were nice.

alex gordiyenko: parking situation is ridiculous! Got the tickets and couldn't even park anywhere within less than 15 mins away, even though were plenty of empty spaces on B just left, wasted $200. Fix your parking before selling tickets!

Arlington YMCA Tennis & Squash Center: what do users think?

Jack jack: I just had a strange conversation with one of their employees who said I could not hit a tennis ball in a racquetball court lol ??? What? I wanted to rent a racquet ball court so I could help a beginning tennis player practice their tennis stroke by hitting the tennis ball off the racquet court walls. Easy peasy. No big deal. I have been doing this my whole life. Never had an issue with this request till today. It’s like the employee thinks they are running a 5 star country club where hitting a tennis ball in a racquet ball court is so déclassé. Give me darn break! It’s the freaking YMCA!! The rates are way too expensive anyways. This isn’t a darn country club for the rich and famous!! What a joke. I will never come here.

Gavin Watson: Had a tennis racquet restrung here. Lasted 16 days/2 sessions/3 hours of play before the string popped, which is absurdly short and almost definitely the fault of the stringer. Even broke where the string was tied on one side. They refused to refund or restring, so I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Alex D'Emidio: Well I go there all the time for clinics and j am so much better at tennis now

Nida Hasan: Truly incredible customer service and organization. The courts are awesome as well!

Norris Sam: The caucasian female manager is rude and lacks customer service skills.Nice facility

Peter Troost: Squash courts are dusty and bad ventilation

Nikolai: One of my most favorite center for their amazing staff!

Cindy Li: It’s so unsanitary here, there’s mold on the walls.

Local Guide: Not the best. The staff are not good and the place is very dirty.

Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center: what do users think?

Han Chen: This is only the review for their tennis class. Some teachers are good but some are very bad. Compared to other classes I signed up, this is much lower quality.

Chanpen Tee: There are 6 hard courts. A lot of parking space. Nice and clean facility

Realtor Georgia: Very nice indoor tennis arena, Offering 6 hard surface tennis courts,. Tennis matches, tennis lessons. Highly recommended it!

Thu Pham: This tennis facility is brick and mortar. Not a bubble! I like the setup. The viewing area is in the center and you can see all the courts, assuming your vision is good enough to see the far side courts.

Kara D.: One of the few indoor tennis courts that don't require club membership. reservation only and the court condition is pretty nice

Bob Gegenheimer: Great indoor tennis courts. Very well maintained. $37 for a court is a little on the expensive side but when it's cold and rainy outside, it's worth it.

Nick Stathis: Don't go on the court five-ten minutes before your time or else the receptionist will scold you. Even when it's completely empty. Then I get told how I'm being monitored and there's cameras watching me like I'm a thief or something 🤨. Staff and courts could use a makeover.

BM2Rambus Brandon-Mykal: I Great area! Courts are clean and have good footing... The staff are always helpful and polite.I appreciate seeing so many people pushing the sport of tennis. 🎾

Marc Schneider: Great facility for tennis and the staff has been extremely vigilant in enforcing safety regulations.

Andrew Majett: Best public tennis facility around! Six hard courts, not too fast, not too slow. Good lighting, year round climate control!

Northwest Sport&Health: what do users think?

Guido Zucconi: Equipment is plentiful and in decent shape. But the place is dirty. Same layers of untouched dust, same balls of hair in the corners and on the equipment day in and day out. Showers are below average in cleanliness as well. Members and staff alike don’t bother wiping equipment after use or re-racking weights. There are weights all over the place. Needs a culture change which starts with staff and trickles down to the members.
Response: Hello Guido, We’re sorry to hear of your less than satisfactory experience and hope you will accept our sincerest apologies. Being known for our great customer service it came as a surprise, and we would like to make things right. Please give us a call to determine how we can provide you with a solution that makes you smile. We value our customers opinions and would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Aaron Kahn-Bork: I've been trying to cancel my membership in writing for a year and a half and I'm still getting charged $42 every month. It's now added up to over $700. I've finally started disputing the recent charges, and plan to pursue further action over those that are to old to dispute from within my credit card app.
Response: Hello [NAME] If you’re open to discussing your experience further, please call us at (202) 244-6090. We’d greatly appreciate the opportunity to make things right and work toward earning back your business.

alessiozampetti: ...if i ask you: "Do you have sauna here at Health Center"? What do you think am i ask for? Is it pretty comprensible what am i asking for? Well, i did this question to the receptionist and she had no idea what i was asking for, ok i tryed to explain in a few words what a sauna is...nothing she stil was staring at me like i had asked how to build a rocket to reach the moon!!! She was able to says..try to ask to general manager! Please, she is a young girls and she can't ignore what a sauna is and she can't ignore what amenity thy can offer to the client!! It is a huge lack of professionality. That was my exerience...i quit with the second question about the swimming pool, i will find a better place.

Eli Geb: I would not recommend signing a contract with them at all! Rude management and 0 assets to the company with the exception of the young director Everett, who actually seems to do the work. The other manager is just a joke.
Response: Hello Eli, I’m sorry to hear about your disappointment with us, and I would like to personally assist you with making things right. Let’s get on a call and address this ASAP, we value your business. Please contact us when convenient.

Nicolas Minges: While I have no complaints about the facilities or staff, please be warned that management employs very predatory billing tactics and will stop at nothing to take your money away from you (make sure to request copies of everything you sign on the spot, they'll say that they'll send you a copy later but never actually do, and definitely read everything carefully before signing as they'll try to rush you through the process and pressure you into making a bad decision, so definitely take your time!). They are not transparent at all with their contracts nor with what you've already paid for and appear to make things purposely confusing for the client as they're solely focused on financial gain with a total disregard for customer satisfaction, service, or basic human decency (capitalism at its finest). If you have the option, my advice would be to go elsewhere, especially since you're paying for it! You want to be leaving the gym feeling good about yourself and not like you've been ripped off and scammed, which unfortunately is the case at this establishment.

Gregory Cork: FITNESS AND FELLOWSHIP IN UPPER NORTHWEST DC If you work out, every once in a while you find that memorable gym – the place where not only your fitness soared, but so did your spirits when you walked in the door. Northwest Sport&Health (NWSH) is that kind of gym. It’s a given that any quality gym will have the equipment and amenities you need to get and stay in shape. NWSH certainly has all that: two floors, with cardio equipment, a bike spin room, and studios for all kinds of classes up top (and a full and varied weekly fitness schedule); and two thoroughly-equipped weight rooms downstairs – all the machines you’ll need plus plenty of free weights, including two Smith racks. But the essential, even ineffable factor always is the fitness staff. And on this count, NWSH is terrific. Led by General Manager Moses Robinson and Fitness Director Alex Switzky, these folks are professional, knowledgeable, attentive, supportive, engaging, courteous – and not only fun, but funny. (Make sure to ask Moses about The Smolder.) Most important to me personally was that NWSH served as a haven for me through most of the COVID-19 pandemic. Working out at NWSH (yes, with a mask), and hanging with the team and the people I got to know at the gym, came to be the anchor of my day. It was what I most looked forward to, each day, in a bizarre time – a time that otherwise would have lacked air and connection, and that would have meant isolation for this active person. I always will remember and be grateful to NWSH for that critical time and for their collective generosity of spirit.
Response: Hi Gregory, Thank you for the 5-stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Serena Nangia: I love everybody at S&H in Tenleytown! The staff is amazing and always so welcoming - I feel like I'm coming home every time I work out! If you're looking for a personal trainer, Brian is awesome - encouraging and kind, but he still pushes you out of your comfort zone! I've been a member for 1.5 years since I graduated from American University, and I'm planning on staying a member in the future. Highly recommend for anyone local looking for a safe and comfortable place to workout :)
Response: Thank you for the fantastic 5 STAR review Serena! We love that you're enjoying Brian and the Tenleytown Team so much! Thank you for choosing Sport & Health! We are so happy to be your home!

Tala K: Northwest Sport and Health is the perfect gym. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is always clean and has everything you need. Great instructors and all types of fitness classes and training available. The kids’ club is our favorite. The caregivers are experienced and caring, you can enjoy your workout without a worry. Love this place and highly recommend. Thank you!
Response: Thanks Tala!

Zenobia Hampton: I got a bribery call with the new manager offering a free pass to change my review! It stands! horrible concept and overpriced company! Planet fitness is bigger, better, and cheaper! In my experience with this place it's extremely easy to sign up but seemingly impossible to cancel. It's expensive and if you want to become a member of the locations that have pools the already expensive fee is even higher! This place taught me one thing! A free workout trainer app is majorly worth the download! Gyms are becoming a major rip off!
Response: Hi Zenobia, thank you for your review. We strive to keep the process for making account changes simple and quick for our members. All you have to do is email our Member Services team at memberservices@usfitnessgroup.com, and they respond within 24-48 standard business hours. If you have any further questions or concerns, our manager, Alex, would be happy to help. He can be reached directly at nwmgr@sportandhealth.com. Thank you.

Donna Rosen: I have been a member of Northwest Sport and Health for 10+ years. I like this gym for exercise because it is laid back, but has excellent equipment and a diverse membership. I have worked with several Personal Trainers at this gym. All were good, but John Vallimarescu is one of the best Personal Trainers I have ever had. He is very careful to address the unique needs of each client. He pushes you but does not exert excessive pressure -- perfect balance. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an outstanding Personal Trainer at NW S&H.
Response: Thanks so much Donna! I will pass along your compliments to the team! Thanks for being a loyal member with us and let us know if we can anything to help you. See you soon!

University Club: what do users think?

Nabou Fall: What a club! Delicious food, friendly atmosphere, i loved the mouthwash in the bathroom, the possibilities are unlimited. Only open to members though.

Douglas Bonner: Wonderful historic private club founded by President Taft in the heart of Washington DC, 3 blocks north of the White House. Athletic facilities, meeting rooms and fine dining. Love using the indoor pool.

Danny Donovan: Great spot that I have stayed multiple times. I am not part of the club and a member would have to book a room for a guest. All rooms I have stayed in are great. There is or at least was an older section of rooms (Possibly renovated by now) that were still very nice but just a bit older. I have attended private parties in the library, an absolutely fabulous room! I have also used the gym which was nice as well. Great location, walking distance to many restaurants as well as the White House and surrounding monuments.

John L. Berghout: Great atmosphere and ambiance. Always a treat to dine here.

Meaghan Hogan: Exceptional customer service and hospitality at this private club. I had the pleasure of being a provisional member this summer, and, though I did not elect to continue my membership, I enjoyed my experience. Service was given with a smile, and staff were professional. Food was excellent and drinks were poured correctly (and strong!). Lots of ways to get involved at this club, no matter where your interests lie.

Linda Chang: Beautiful place, food & drinks are great. I enjoyed myself.

Joachim Schlange: Top place to stay in DC, great location. However, it seems that one needs a member to book a room. Excellent service, good kitchen, in particular the breakfast! Go to the roof with a drink and enjoy the view!

RevDr John Trigilio: Taft Dining Room is THE place to bring someone for that special dinner or just to be with good friends. There is a formal and a casual dining rooms. Both have 5 star food. Chocolate soufflé is best in entire USA. One of the few places left with dress code and silent cell phone policy. How civilized

John Bunderson: I must admit I did not know what to expect when arriving as a 3 night guest to the University Club. There were dress and mobile device dress codes provided before arrival that had me worried about my apparel when landing at the airport, but once checked into the hotel found everything to be a pleasant experience. I was greeted by the doorman who took my bags emptying my hands allowing me to check in quickly. He escorted me to my room where I found everything in order in my 2 queen corner room. I found the view of 16th Avenue active and pleasant to watch during my entire stay. There was never a noise issue except the refrigerator, which was easily unplugged for the night. There was even a sizable thunder storm, but that didn't even bother me during my nights rest. I frequented the formal dining area (jackets are required here) and found the wait staff expertly trained and prepared. Tuesday nights are always buffet night(a round $50/per) and the food is excellent...save room for dessert I recommend the strawberry rhubarb ala mode. On the second floor there is a pub and informal dining room, with equally good service and food. There is a business center, spa, weight room, exercise center, locker room, sauna, steam room, and more at this exclusive club. A very nice member took time to exhibit the facility and shared tips for enjoying the treasure in DC. As an added interesting note, the 2 statues in front (1 donkey & 1 Elephant) are switched based on the current party in the Whitehouse. Thank you for an amazing visit to your club.

Malik Siraj Akbar: An excellent social club, with several great facilities, including beautiful, large and luxurious dining halls, a gym and a squash hall. They offer accommodations to their members with a reasonable price at a central location. It is a great club for people who move to Washington D.C. newly and are looking to expand their professional and personal networks by wanting to meet new people. They have a diverse membership which means people from different backgrounds and professions are members of the club.

REI Co-op: what do users think?

Michael Brown: As a company, REI should not inflict their political beliefs onto customers. That said, they carry good gear and this particular location is fantastic. Every time I have come here they have exactly what I need. The staff are friendly and helpful and generally knowledgeable. I don’t know who makes REI branded clothes and gear, but they do a good job.

Mike R: I like this store for so many reasons. First: they have excellent customer service. Today I walked in with my bike to get my flat tire fixed. A woman approached me and signed me in. Then a man walked up to me and asked if I would like to him to park my bike. I was appalled by this gesture. Second: This establishment has everything here. I mean like… leave that bike area if you want to. You will be buying anything from energy gel to underwear. Third: conveniently located right beside the metro.

Anne Probst: Thank you Jeremy in cycling for taking care of my bike I commute on. Haley assisted and was down to earth and happy. High five to Micah in footwear who helped me find a size in a scarpa I haven’t been able to find in stores in 4 years. He’s super knowledgeable and was connecting with all the customers. Thank you REI DC!

Patrick F.: The 2 stars is not for the products, it's for the lack of service. Lord forbid you need some help. I waited forever even after pushing this button (photo) and a guy that was helping someone else acknowledged they heard me and would be coming. Still waiting as I type this. FYI, I have purched thousands from this store....sigh!!

Louisa Buatti: I visited REI for the first time since the pandemic began. My pick up of an online order went very smoothly. Every staff person I encountered was friendly and helpful--they all offered to direct me to the customer service/pick up area. I was in and out of the store in a flash.

Andrea Wu: I came here to pick up my shoes that I ordered online, and after trying them out in nature, they were too big so I came back to return and get new ones. The staff helping me was very helpful, bringing me different shoes for me to try on. I finally got a pair that fit properly, and checkout was pretty speedy too. Parking on the street might be a bit tough, but it's not too bad!

H Gill: Great store! love REI… but checking out here is always a 15 min wait. The checkout line moves at a snail’s pace, and the managers/supervisors don’t seem to care. I’ve seen customers put items down and leave out of frustration.

Rebecca Tolbert: Generally a good store, but the parking situation is currently very weird. You park in the parking deck and then have to walk all the way around a whole city block because they have blocked off the elevator and stairs. So, you drive into the parking deck and then have this surprise journey ahead of you, through a sketchy alley and everything. Just wanted to give other customers a heads up!

Ben Layton: Bike shop effectively closes at 6:30, not 7:00, since you have to get on a wait-list to get the bike checked in and the wait-list closes at 6:30. Called in advance and told them when I'd get there and they didn't mention that, so came all the way here for nothing. Turnaround on basic repairs also 9-10 days rn, which is honestly nuts.

R: Oddly enough they aren’t dog friendly yet I saw a pitbull walking around without a service vest. The area around is horrendous, good luck finding a parking spot. Really disappointed that REIs aren’t dog friendly yet their competitors REI and Bass Pro is.

TennisTopia: what do users think?

Pete: The employees were very friendly and very helpful. Glad I was able to find a Tennis shoes for my Dad for early Fathers Day gift.

Ted Kroos: Great place to pick up Tennis racquet 🎾, shoes, racquet restring. Nice people!!! Great location!

Anthony: My tennis teacher recommended me come here to get the perfect racket for me. There service was amazing. Once we came in we were greeted by them. We were brought over to the racket section. They showed us all kinds of rackets and there prices. They were honest with which may fit me best. Overall there customer service is amazing. I would come by here again once I grow out of the one I have now.

Val Eren: Good looking store with decent selection but absolutely garbage customer service. Travelling through the city, bought a pair of shoes a few days back. I asked the store clerk if I could return the shoes and he told me 15 days with receipt. My last day here in Rockville, I found another pair for a better price and brought these back. The store manager refused to refund me and offered a store credit. I explained that 1) I'm passing through so store credit isn't useful for me and 2) I specifically asked when I bought them if this was the case and I was reassured I could return them. I asked for an exception to be made, but the manager was too busy following corporate instructions rather than being customer-minded and doing what's right for the customer. Would never recommend.
Response: Hi. 30 days is the return policy. Its posted at every register and on the receipts. No one told you 15 days! I have great employees and stand behind them. We do have a web site Tennistopia.com where you could have used the store credit. We ship all over the country.

Dina and Moti Melamed: Very bad costumer service!!!They gave me a price at my first visit and changed it at my second one when I came to purchase therefore I didn’t buy racket there and lost the money for trying two rackets at home. Was very very disappointed and would never recommend this store
Response: Very sorry if this happened. All prices are posted on the racquets and even on our website. So I'm not sure how it happened?! If?!

Jeff H: Best stringing in all of the DMV! Scott is by far the best stringer in the whole region as he used to string for the US Open and more. But anyone here who strings your racquet will do a better job than anyone else in the area. The continuous pull machine is so much better than that guy you know in your tennis group that uses a drop weight machine or whatever. No, I don't want to go to some random person's garage from your whatever league/group/etc who probably has an uncalibrated machine and learned via youtube. I want to go to Scott who has strung racquets for professional tennis players so when I lose I know it was definitely because of me and not my string tension. The demo program is amazing and so worth it. The staff are very knowledgeable, professional, and kind. They will help you find what you need and offer excellent advice. Prices are pretty much the same as online in terms of racquets, shoes, and grips but I mainly come here for the stringing. Scott is a treasure in this area and by far the best stringer you will find. Again, all the other stringers are also top notch but I'm just saying Scott is the best of the best.

Krishna Samavedam: Got few rackets few months ago and got strung there. IT was a good experience. I went back to get restrung one of the racket and I specifically told them that I need Head - Synthetic - BLACK and 54lb. Update: My wife e.mailed and the owner responded immediately and took care of it.

Benjamin Chàgúzàghà: Simply the best tennis store in the DC area. They even have a good selection of used rackets for people on a budget. Excellent turnaround time on stringing. Also, a variety of tennis fashion, accessories and a good line up of foot wear. Clean, organized and friendly.

Adria Aghasi: I bought a racket for my kid which was $10 more than what was in other stores!!! DO NOT BUY anything from them!!! They WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURNS!!! They sell stuff really expensive!!! They just give you store credit or exchange!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 Not recommended at all!!!
Response: Hi. Sorry you think we are expensive! Must of my prices are competitive. We do match prices with other Stores. We do take returns just for store credit or exchange.

Razz V.: My boyfriend liked that there is a Tennis shop. There aren't that many. They have great quality products. Expect the prices to be extremely high. Shirts cost over 100, hats in the 40's and up. Didn't have that large of a stock to choose from. My boyfriend managed to find a few things he liked. They did have only brand name products of course. It's a small shop, but was informed this location will be moving soon. They do string up rackets, they do sell the life size tennis balls that kids love. Make sure to mention you're a Professional Tennis Coach when you walk in, you'll receive a 25% discount off every time.

YMCA Arlington: what do users think?

Tosh Gibson: I used the small Y for my short stay in the area. The equipment and facility is pretty old and rundown. Not the nicest Y I've been, but have the necessary equipment to work out. The staff were nice and helpful.

Jack Scott: The place is very conveniently located and is NEVER crowded. Equipment is clean and there's always enough weights. However, the facility and equipment is ancient and awkwardly arranged. Straight out of the 80s. They also don't have many machines present at most modern day gyms. Great if you only need the bare basics for your workout and don't mind the enclosed spaces.

Will Snyder: Tried to sign up for a one month membership, and their "fine print" policies are screwing me over to paying for three months. Outdated equipment, rude staff, and antiquated computer system. For a place that promotes respect and honesty it is pretty ironic they make it impossible to cancel a membership. Do not join this gym there are plenty of better ones in the area

Angela Chu: I have been coming here with my son in-law and my daughter and their twin toddlers since we moved here 2 months ago. The atmosphere is great. They welcome newcomers like us and try to help in every way they could. It is very well equipped with a very nice swimming pools. They are lots of programs for members. We are all energized by the Y spirit. We just love it.

Jennifer Kyak: The staff at the front desk were eager to take my money without waiting until I had my paystubs ready to apply for a membership. Too concerned with getting money. The friendly attitude was just a facade. Cancelling my membership immediately and not coming back. Covid-19 restrictions make the facility unusable, so no showers are available.

Scotty ST: The YMCA is a little run down and old but I like it. I never have to wait for any machines! There is never too many people there. It's the cheapest gym in the area, that I am aware of. They have a pool, plenty of classes and the right gym machines and equipment. The people working here are really friendly. This place is laid back and people may not like it since the gym is a little old school compared to it's higher priced rivals. They provided towels for you when you walk in and there is a sauna in the changing rooms.

Justin Crawford: I know it’s through no fault of the staff, but the COVID restrictions have made the gym unusable for the price you pay. There are no free weights or benches and only about 6 strength training machines.

Local Guide: This place is great to work out, and they have a great after school program. It is not the cleanest. If you want to workout and you have a baby they have a baby daycare. Parking is great. They also have a pool but it is small.

B G: This place is just broadly is pretty bad. It’s very convenient and has tennis. Otherwise, it’s very expensive for old and generally moldy smelling workout spaces. The employees are all generally unhelpful (except the handyman guy who is super nice). Do everything you can to avoid this place but again... really only option for tennis around so there is that.

Vinni: I would just like to share a bad experience with the Arlington YMCA for summer camps for kids and would like to tell other parents to consider not enrolling their children in summer camp there unless they change things. We have been intermittently using them for summer camps for the past 5 years, but this past week has been awful in terms of their lack of organization and the lack of taking responsibility for their lack of organization. Pickup and drop-off times are completely Whimsical and arbitrary and not they don't adhere to what the tines had in their catalog. Very stressful for both kids and parents and I hope to spare someone else the agony.

Lake Fairfax Park: what do users think?

Dennis Pelczynski: Excellent park for day activities, mountain biking, assorted sports and camping. Campsites were a bit overgrown but the bathhouses were really top notch. Our campsite was along a small creek and beneath a rock outcropping making it feel like we traveled out of the DC Metropolitan area. It's a great location for a long weekend camping trip with biking and hiking but not having to travel hours away. Perfect for novice adventurers.

It’s me Charzi: A very big park and a very good for camping. You have plenty of activity to do within the park and there is separate campground where you do your camping with your family. Over the weekends saw school kids camping with their family and was looking so good. Heard from friends that is safe to camp .

S. Mtambo: Fantastic place, there's skate parks, sports fields and a play area near the lake. The scenery is beautiful around the RV campgrounds

Litzy Aguilar: Beautiful & relaxing lake. Perfect place for camping, RV parking, skatepark, hiking trails, grills everywhere, and a water park.

Rana Emad: So much to do there! There’s the lake that’s always serene (but you might have to go early when there aren’t a lot of people since they can play music pretty loud). There’s many skate boarding ramps. There’s a massive area for camping (both tents and RVs). It’s a great location since it’s close to the “city” but far enough to be immersed in nature. They have a nice bathroom area as well as porta-potties scattered around. They’re almost always clean. The camping grounds we’ve used range from being next to someone else’s tent to being pretty far away from the next lot. You have to reserve an area if you plan on spending the night.

Russell M: Lake Fairfax is a gem. If you guessed that there is a lake, you are correct, but that’s just the start. There is a very cool water park that is great for kids. There are a bunch of soccer fields, baseball fields, but there is also a cricket field. Not easy to find those around here. A nice little skate park for the little shredders, and a great campground that is very popular in the warmer months. The Fairfax Cross County Connector trail also goes right through the park, anchoring a green network of mountain bike trails. There are plenty of fun rock gardens, roots, twists and turns that make riding here a blast, and there is a very cool jump/flow trail being built very close to the little pump track that I can’t wait to try out.

Angela Owens: Reserved a campsite for Friday, Sat, Sunday of Memorial day weekend 2022 with our 27ft camper. Being a holiday weekend the campsites were not mowed in preparation. The pavilions were but for people staying a few days, more care should have been taken given the price per night and the higher end location of the campground. Campsite was extremely uneven and we were not prepared nor was our neighbor, who we loaned a purchased board to. Price for wood was $10 for 5-6logs - wow. Perhaps we are used to more accommodating and reasonable places. I will say that the location is close to everything and that was enjoyable. We didn't get to see everything at the campgrounds or lake but it is a nice area. The poor lots and lack of information ahead of time is the reason for the lower rating.

Doug Marcks: Crowded but fun. Get there early to get a spot with an umbrella. You can purchase food or bring your own which is a plus. Lots of lifeguards and it seemed they were actually paying attention. The kids loved it.

Rebecca Lee: The Watermine is excellent. Lots of variety for kids of all ages. Plenty if attentive lifeguards kept vigilant with frequent rotations and vest. Nice current on the lazy river and plenty of space to sit out and eat lunch or take a break. We spent 3 and a half hours there and the kids weren't ready to leave.

Andrea M. Watling: Love this place! There's plenty of space to go on a hike or just lounge by the lake and fish. Plenty of people get on their kayaks, paddle board and paddle boats. Families have a picnic under the trees and there's a water park that would probably be open if not for COVID-19. Highly recommend!

Oak Marr Rec Center: what do users think?

Minerva Atilano: As a family, we're trying Oak Marr RECenter through a great offer of 30 days for $30. So far, so good! Great place, plenty of parking spaces, good equipment, nice gym, spacious rooms to practice karate, and an awesome pool! Now, I'm taking Swimming I class for adults and the experience has been so great! My instructor is very kind and knowledgeable!

Shante Freeman: Plenty of grass and turf field area. Practice your good swing. Good playground facilities for kids. Pool. Exercise room. Classes. Everything you need in a local rec.

David Zlo: Nice place to spend a few hours with your family. Children love it and adults can enjoy the pool or hot tub. I would recommend have your own water and snacks.

Viska Marchelen Widyaastuti: I come here to spend my weekend at the indoor swimming pool. It facilitate a hot tub close to the pool so you can take a break little bit or just warm your body up. There are some guardian who will stay there in case someone need help. This place is clean and big, it also welcoming birthday party for kids. One thing that also important that, the people are nice and helpful.

Elizabeth A: Great pool! Only negative is there needs to be more lanes for lap swimming on the weekends.

Penny Schaefer: If you have mobility challenges, getting in and out of the pool can take some extra effort. The pool temperature is comfortable. There are many lanes, but on my visits, it was hard to find an open spot. Many are reserved for lessons. The locker rooms are a bit dated and in need of a little maintenance, but they provide ample space and areas for dressing and shower privacy. Lockers require quarters, not locks, but they are large and plentiful.

Yeni E: UPDATE 11/2020: They started accepting more people, which led me to stop going. It's still 2 people per lane, and every lane was pretty much "full" whenever I went. Totally not a problem in a non-COVID world, so I may wait to go back for a while. This review is strictly based on my experience at the pool today, which is about a week after they opened back up after covid pandemic started. Hoping this answers some questions people may have during COVID. I didn't know until I got there, but you need to make a reservation before you go. They open for 90-minute blocks, and at the end of every block they clear out the pool and clean for 30 minutes. Fortunately the pool capacity wasn't full so they let me go in. There were 4 other people there, in their own lanes. Lockers are prohibited at this time so I changed real quick in the locker room and put my bag on a designated chair by the lane in the pool area. People who were not in the pool (including life guards) always wore a mask. I think they're doing a great job keeping everyone safe and enjoy the pool 👏

Karen Cullen: 1st Mini Golf of the season. Course needs a bit maintenance but still lots of Fun!

Wanda Cruz: Nice place to hang at. My child had fun. Robert Arguinzoni treated us kind and generous!

Cbrx: I really like this place as the membership is reasonably priced for its pool. It isn’t too crowded at the right times, and you are provided with a schedule of when the pool is open to public. The only complaints I have are that the showers do not have curtains, the beach area is dirty, and the water is cold. You get used to it after a bit though.

REI: what do users think?

Robert Olcott: I have been an REI member for nearly 20 years. I've always had a great experience with the people, products and service. I purchased a pair of ski gloves in early January and hadn't worn. Because I've bought so much stuff at REI I received a $20 Bonus Card in early February. I went to the Bailey's Crossroads store, figuring I would return the gloves and then repurchase them using the coupon. One of the managers, Vicki, said I couldn't do this. That the Bonus Card was only good for new purchases. I explained that I could return the gloves at the store, return home, and buy the gloves online using the Bonus Card number. I also explained to her that this would cost REI ("our coop") $ in unnecessary shipping costs. She shook her head and said, "rules are rules." I understand the importance of rules. But really?? I've spent five figures in REI over the years. I've been a long-time, loyal customer. Unfortunately this seems to be a case of a manager who was unable or unwilling to see the big picture.

Benjamin Barillas: Best shopping experience I've had in awhile. Went shopping for camping tents, and they let me set it up in the store to size it up. I obvs bought it. Staff were very helpful.

Stoonookw: Omg Brett is amazing helper and needs a raise like today. Elise is also amazing but I think I spoke with Brett the majority of the time. So I basically bought everything that I needed at this REI and was extremely satisfied with the equipment, price tags, and of course the service. I felt bad like I was taking too long to decide on which equipment I was going to buy, but after dropping over 1k at the store and getting a lot of pro tips, I now love the REI experience

XAVIER AGNELLI: I go to REI quite often and I have to say the Bailey’s crossroads is always one of my favorites because of the staff. Today I had a great experience with Sam, who was in the floor. He approached me and asked me if I found everything that I was looking for to which my answer was no and he helps me track down the item that I want at the store in DC he called ahead had them hold it and then called me and told me that they’re holding it for me so that I could go pick it up at the DC location. Sam went above and beyond and is a perfect example of the generally good experience that I have when I am at the Baileys crossroads location. Thanks Sam!

Kwang Han: 1st time at REI where an employee didn't have good product knowledge. Should have started with he didn't know and could find someone that knew product vs just telling me the price of 2 different items. I could do myself by searching on website.

Kimberly R: I wanted to say thank you to Ryan M. and Janice B. for fixing my foot pain! They are the shoe/foot experts at REI! I came in with horrible foot pain and blisters just after walking only a few miles. They discovered that I was wearing shoes 1 size too small (!) and were able to recommend a great brand of shoe to give me more room in the toe box (Altra Shoes). Ever since I wore the shoes they recommended I have had ZERO foot pain or blisters. They saved my feet. Thank you to Ryan and Janice!

Anolis Sagrei: DC flagship store has much better selection and allows dogs. Not only does this location not permit dogs, they were a little cold in their answer when I asked at the door if they permitted them. I must understandably leave my dog on our houseboat when shopping at grocery stores, but as she gets anxious left alone, I like to keep her with me when possible. An outdoor store that is so dog unfriendly is a bit of a contradiction.

Parker Lowe: SAM did a great job helping me pick out a large variety of gear the last time I shopped here. 10/10 experience, now I recommend this location to everyone I know.

Shashank Rana: Usually I don't have any complaints of REI. I have been to this store in several states. Along with the quality and choices of item that the store offers, their service is another thing that make them different from other vendors. However, the sales staff in the shoes section wasn't as helpful as I was expecting. Younger sales guys were just chatting amongst themselves while the customer were stuggling to find the size and design of the shoes.

curse_of_dimensionality: Got adjustments done at the bike shop and my derailleur was completely misaligned when I got it back. Very disappointed with the experience

jordan5221: Very nice place though the entrance/concession staff are young and have very little if any personality. Almost like robots with a default setting of 'miserable'. That would be my only complaint.

Mochachloe: I used to go to this camp when I was a child, I remeber the owner one time came up to me and yelled at me as a child many years ago to the point where I cried, he taking out his anger on us because we were tired of being outside in the sun all day since we were exhausted while we were sitting down in the shade and not doing the planned actvities. I would not recommend this anyone to send their children to this summer day camp. Many years later I still remeber the few adults who took their anger out on children at this camp particularly the owner. Thanks for giving me this wonderful memory for the rest of my life. Thought I would leave a review.

Caitlin Deremeik: I’ve been going to Pine Valley since I was a child. The paddle sports are amazing, filled with such fun people! You can find a league that suits your ability level, competition needs, and day/time for paddle or tennis. Pickleball is a newer addition and Pine Valley has added extra courts to accommodate this quickly growing sport. As for the pools; there is something for everyone. Whether you have a family, or are just an adult, there are pools perfect for you! Again, the regulars are the best people and are welcoming to anyone coming in to hang out (especially in the adult relaxing pool). I cannot day enough about this amazing family run oasis! Go check it out. You won’t be disappointed!

Collin Cherry: Pretty nice pool. Disappointed there was no diving boards and the grass and bushes by the park are unkempt but besides that it's a great pool and area. They also have this little course which was fun but on the slide I had to literally scoot myself to the end. Tennis and basketball courts, ping pong, and volleyball are also there and it's pretty nice. They lend you balls to play with so you dont need to bring your own but you probably should.

hoss a: My fiancé and I have been members of Pine Valley for two years and I have been a guest for about 6 years. I cannot say enough how much I agree with the Pine Valley motto: A day at Pine Valley is like a day on vacation. With a water slide pool, alligator crossing pool, kiddie pool, adult relaxation pool, water battle pool, and the huge main pool, there is something for every member of the family. If you love the sun, there is plenty of sun. If you prefer the shade, there is plenty of shade. This place maintains a family atmosphere but also has places for adults to be away from kids if you prefer that. The price of membership gives you Big Bang for your buck. We look forward to our time spent there.

Sidney Garcia: At first, I admit that I really loved this place. However, during our last visit we had a major scare when one of our 4 year olds fell into the water. He couldn't swim, struggled, and was quickly fully submerged. The lifeguards didn't do a thing. They didn't even notice that one of the kids was drowning, and after he was pulled out (not by any of the pool staff), they didn't check on him or take an incidence report. It was a good thing someone else had an eye out, because otherwise who knows what would've happened. When we spoke to the manager, he neglected the issue with excuses such as 'the life guards are only teenagers' and such. Horrifying behavior on behalf of the lifeguards and management. Thankfully, our little one is okay, but I would advise finding another pool that takes safety seriously.

Justin Lampert: One of the best swim clubs I’ve been to. My kids love this place. There’s plenty of room on the pool decks and I can always find a good spot to relax while my kids have fun

Jim Loftus: Best family swim & summer time playground in the area.Bonus is tennis, platform & pickleball. The absolute best club in the area...plus the value of membership makes it even better! Join PV now!!! Do it!!!

Mark Holtschneider: My family and I enjoy spending time at Pine Valley. The frog pool and triple loop slide are fun. We also like playing tennis, paddle tennis and table tennis. The people are really nice.

ellicott mills: Family friendly. They raise prices way too much. Otherwise great place.

Belle Haven Country Club: what do users think?

Michelle Jafari: Nice facility, there for an event. Parking is available but can be a little distance from the door. Event room is nice with ample light and doors/ windows to the exterior. Food and service was ok

Rod Hobbs: Every year my car club has had their annual event at Belle Haven Country Club to start off our regional activities. And every year we have had it, the meal has been excellent. The staff from the valet parking at the front door and the coat check to the unobtrusive servers in the back have always done a fabulous job. The meal was a buffet brunch that served everything from salads to biscuits and bacon with an omelet station and finished up with some out of this world desserts. Every year we all look forward to coming back.

Lorena Malone: They forbade me from drinking wine in my flip flops while swinging a golf club. Otherwise I highly recommend.

Kipp burgoyne: Great food. Beautiful facilities.

Lee Dunn: Beautiful facilities with kind and gracious staff. Food is very good and can be tailored to your needs. The menu labels gluten free options well. The pool area is family friendly and the various events and programs here are well run. Excellent staff and management.

Benjamin Jarvis: Can you say enough how great this club is- I don't think so. Beautiful greens, thoughtfully placed cups and the service is top notch. All the servers, waiters and waitresses. Locker rooms are clean and spacious. Art work is decadent. Top rated club on the east coast. The wind on the ninth hole is wicked. Must be the cross-wind or that crazy dogleg left.

Wendell Hicks: Great for outings. The course is always in outstanding shape. The greens started out pretty fast and then the staff watered them. The staff is really helpful. Not sure what a membership costs...I'm sure whatever it is, I can't afford it but to play it once a year is fun.

Vicky and Snickers Anderson: Attended iNOVA award dinner and dance here at BHCC. The ambience was lovely. Service impeccable the food was good too. The large table sat 9 of us comfortably. The entire room was full of team members and their spouses.

Lee Dunn: Always a great experience at a wonderful property with an amazing staff that cares deeply about the club and its members. Wonderful spot for an event or wedding.

RoseyValentine: Worked on a wedding there as a coordinator and I must say the main house is gorgeous and the staff are all wonderful and hard workers. Fantastic place to host an event.
