Eye Doctors of Washington: what do users think?

Janice Alder: Just had the best eye exam of my life! Ejiatu was the tech/physician’s assistant who did the tests and prep. She was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and professional. I felt well taken care of. Dr Khan was also excellent! She understood my myriad issues and has a game plan for me that encompasses my overall health. Highly recommend!

Catherine: This is a terrible doctors office! My experience was the epitome of unprofessional. I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment to sign in. After doing so there was no place for me to sit so I was forced to stand. A number of techs and doctors walked passed me, but no one acknowledged the fact that I was the sole person standing in the lobby. Turns out they were running terribly behind. I ended up waiting over an hour for a doctor that basically forced me out the door. She was kind enough to provide rudimentary information about a condition I've had for six years, and recommend doctors to which she only provided the name. "You can Google the addresses and numbers, right?!" Dr. Shah asked me after waiting over an hour to see her. Very classy! She informed me that she does do the procedure I inquired about but won't be getting more kits in this year. She refused to schedule a follow up appointment and acted as though they would never receive the kits ever again. This just sounded very fishy, and given how rushed I felt, I didn't feel as though me or my eyes were any significance to the people here. I saw Dr. Luckie for a few minutes on a previous visit, and she was very patronizing. I was scheduled without regard for my condition and wasted time, money, and was scheduled at the wrong office. They meant to schedule me with the cornea specialist who didn't have any more kits to perform the treatment she recommended. Please please stay away from this doctor's office! Go somewhere where you matter and where they take you as seriously as they take their money from the insurance company!

Jennifer Pack: Eye Doctors of Washington have been excellent in caring for and treating an eye condition I have. I feel able to ask them anything, and they give great explanations that teach and explain. Dr. Luckie in DC fits my Scleral contact lenses amazingly! She and her staff are so friendly and caring.

Miki'ala Miller: Staff at EDoW were great - communicative and caring. I was very impressed with them. My only issue with the place was the awkwardness of the waiting area. No tables on which to put place a purse, book, umbrella, or phone or coffee cup. I had to put all my stuff on the floor or try to hang my purse off the arm rest. Chairs were not spaced far enough apart for Covid concerns. And the chairs were really dirty. They need to make efforts to re-arrange the waiting area into a more workable, accessible set up.

Scott Mackey: I had my Lasik surgery done here yesterday, and my experience from scheduling my initial exam to the post-op appointment was top-notch. I scheduled my initial exam, which consisted of some scans and tests done by friendly and well-trained techs. After those tests I met with a wonderful gentleman named Johnny, who is the Refractive Coordinator. He was extremely friendly, and walked me through the results of my scans and how the procedure would go down. After he had explained everything to me, Dr. Clinch came in to meet with me himself and reiterated a lot of what Johnny had just said. From what I've read about him online, Dr. Clinch has an impressive portfolio of patients, and despite that, he was very humble and down-to-earth. I really appreciated that he felt it necessary to meet with me personally at this initial visit. I scheduled my next round of exams and scans to be conducted by another doctor in that office, Dr. Lee. In what came to be an expected trend of the staff here, she too was very friendly, thorough and professional. She also made a point to go back over how the procedure would go, and the after care that I would be expected to do. My next appointment was to be the actual surgery, but they needed me to come in for an additional round of scans beforehand, just to make sure they had all the information they needed to ensure my surgery would be as successful as possible. This was also conducted by Dr. Lee. On the day of my surgery, they had me come in about 30 mins before the actual time of the appointment to help prep me by giving me eye drops and medications to make the procedure easier. This was administered by Johnny, who was just as pleasant as ever. Afterward, they moved me to a very nice and comfortable waiting lounge area while I waited for my turn for the surgery. Admittedly, I had been really nervous about this procedure. However, Dr. Clinch was amazing about being very calming in his demeanor, and explaining everything he was doing as he was doing it. I always heard the surgery was painless and easy, and I would have to say that was absolutely the case. It is a weird experience overall, but they made it as comfortable as possible. Dr. Clinch was deft in his execution and I felt as at ease as I possibly could have. He finished my procedure, did some checks immediately after, and they sent me out with my take home bag including sunglasses for the light sensitivity, and goggles to protect my eyes while sleeping/resting. They fully prepared me by explaining that after the anesthetic wore off that it would feel a lot like having sand in my eyes and be fairly uncomfortable for about 6-8 hours. That was the case for me, so I took their suggestion and took a nap as soon as I got home. When I woke up I saw that I had a missed call from Dr. Clinch. He left a voicemail just checking to see how I was doing and thanking me for choosing him to do my surgery. I can't believe that he personally reached out to me like that! Really above and beyond! I had a post-op check at another one of their offices this morning with Dr. Luckie, who was very friendly and helped put to ease that my eyes were looking as they should be and that everything looked good. All my follow up appointments will be with Dr. Lee and Johnny will continue to be my point of contact should I need anything. As of today, not even 24 hours after my procedure, my vision is crisp and clear, with just a slight haze that, I understand, is a common experience this soon after the operation. I can already tell how life changing this will be. If you are considering this procedure or anything else that these offices/doctors provide, I HIGHLY recommend you go through with it. Honestly perfect experience! Thank you again so much!

David Fago: Dr. Fisher was very personable and helpful. She explained her findings thoroughly and noted that what I thought might be a problem (cataracts) isn’t yet, but that another concern (optic nerve health) will require further evaluation and follow-up. I’m very pleased with her care and attention.

Jeremy Faircloth: I went in because I had just recently begun having minor but recurring issues with my eye. All the people I dealt with in the hour wait prior to actually meeting the doctor were lovely and wonderful. The doctor walked in, gave me 30 seconds to talk, diagnosed me, and tried to hand me off to an aide. I had to stop him as he was heading out the door to ask what the cause was. “I don’t know. Any other questions?”

Ardella Newman: DR. Kenneth Schor M.D. is simply the best. I would definitely recommend him to others because of his knowledgeable caring manner. Plus, he engages me in my appointment in a thoughtful, respectful manner, he makes it easy to ask questions. He is AWESOME!👍🤗👍

Flo Lee: I was extremely afraid of getting LASIK because I had an extremely high prescription. But after a few of my friends had good experiences even with PRK, I decided to search around for a consultation. I am so glad I found EDOW and cannot say enough good things. Maggie was my coordinator, and she was amazing. She was constantly available to answer my many questions leading up to the procedure and was extremely communicative about what to expect. I had some trouble getting the eye drops I needed due to some health insurance coverage issues, but Maggie was really quick to help me troubleshoot and find a good price. I am so grateful. The procedure itself went smoothly as was my recovery. Dr. Clinch was efficient and his manner put me at ease before, during, and after the surgery. If you are looking to do LASIK, I highly recommend at least checking out EDOW to see if they are a good fit for you!

charles osborne: Dr. Schor and Team are wonderful. Went thru numerous eye tested and was explained each process and what to expect. Dr. Schor was super professional and thorough. He explained everything to me and several options. The office was clean and orderly and had plenty of covid protocols and protections in place.

Eye Doctors of Washington: what do users think?

Ms Ma: Second visit, since my long-time ophthalmologist retired. My primary care physician highly recommended Dr. Jacobson. He, and his assistant Christopher, give thorough exams, and detailed explanations. Don't hesitate to make an appointment.

Michael Orenstein: Through my visits with Dr. Jacobson I feel confident in saying he is a caring practitioner, one who actually listens to patient concerns and symptoms, develops a game plan, and then carefully explains the testing and his diagnosis and treatment options. He also welcomes your questions if his answers get a little blurry (pun intended). And just today, he wasn't quite happy with an image of a muscle(??) around the eye, so he took additional time with me for a re-shoot. I would hope ALL doctors operate this way.

Kecia Reynolds: Dr. Luckie is great! I highly recommend her. The assistant was also good. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because neither the receptionist nor the glasses person in the lobby said hello when I walked in and either was helping anyone.

Amin Shaheen: One of my most time efficient visits to Dr. Jacobson. He is very thorough and has a great bedside manner. His staff was very friendly, courteous and professional! Keep it up guys!

Chris O'Flinn: Dr. Jacobson is the most thorough ophthalmologist I've ever seen. He inspires confidence. The office is very well equipped and well run by pleasant people.

Mark Jacobson: Dr. Howard Jacobson has been my ophthalmologist for at least 20 years. He is extraordinarily thorough, professional and conservative in his examinations, treatments, and recommendations. I have never hesitated to accept and follow his advice. Definitely a "top doc" in his field.

Nick S: I totally trust my eyes to Dr Jacobsen and his staff. They are knowledgeable, courteous, efficient and great in emergencies as well as routine checkups. The best.

tamika sujuane: Dr. Luckie was very attentive and informative, answering all of my questions and adressing my concerns in detail with patience and grace! I consider myself lucky to have found such a wonderful, insightful and caring ophthalmologist!

sophie DiBIase: specially asked if i could be fitted for contact lenses when making my appointment over the phone was told yes and then came in and was told i would have to make another appointment to see a different doctor to get fitted for lenses completely ridiculous to not be fitted for contacts when getting an eye exam. really disappointing. super frustrating to have to make another appointment when i was told over the phone that would not be an issue. EDOW is bad.

Allyson Terry: Dr.Jacobson is the best eye doctor I have ever been to. He is thorough. Takes his time. Nobody better.

Eye Physicians of Washington: what do users think?

Michael Goodman: Worst ever. They charged me several hundred dollars for an eye test that you get for free at any place that sells eyeglasses. They did NOT fix my problem, perform any sort of scanning as requested. Their response: wait, it will get better. No, it hasn't. Going to another doctor soon.

Nia Spencer: The eye care has been fine. Similar to what I've gotten other places. I would give it about 4 stars. But the administrative aspect is so unbelievably awful that it drags down the entire practice. Because of that, I strongly suggest you avoid this practice. Unless you have spare time to waste going back and forth with people who bill inaccurately, misapply your payments, give you receipts that cause your insurance company to deny your claims, order your contacts in the wrong strength, don't read carefully AND are terribly argumentative and unhelpful after THEY mess something up. Example: Once when the office staff ordered me contact lenses that were -.75 instead of -.50, an office staff member said that it wasn't that big of a difference and why didn't I just wear the wrong ones, instead of them placing a corrected order. So...I should wear a lens that's 150% the strength that my eye needs just so that you don't have to do your job properly? I don't think so. Another example: I contacted the office and requested receipts for services and purchases so that I could submit an out of network claim to my insurer. What they sent me did not contain enough specifics so the claim was rejected. Trying to get corrected receipts from this office staff was like pulling teeth. First they sent receipts that "would be exactly what FSA/HSA needed”. It took 3 more emails to get them to understand that I asked about *insurance*, not FSA/HSA. Then, they sent me receipts that still failed to itemize the service charges, and showed the wrong year for my contact lens purchase. All the while, the staff had a nasty attitude and reacted to my request for accurate documents as if I’d asked them to donate organs or climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. When I simply wanted administrative staff to do administrative work accurately. Two days later, I still don’t have corrected documents, but I have an inbox overflowing with useless, obstinate emails. It’s truly absurd and I would never want anyone else to waste their precious time in dumb, unnecessary argumentative exchanges with Eye Physicians of Washington’s office staff like I have. Spare yourself the headaches and have your eye health handled elsewhere.

Casey P1400: Cataract surgery with Dr. Pluznik was seamless. Doctor is great, very caring, very patient, excellent doctor in every way. Staff was great, techs always proficient and courteous. Very comprehensive pre-op visits and follow-ups. If you need cataract surgery, you want a surgeon who has done thousands of these procedures. This is the place to go.

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: First time I visited Dr.Newell Hargett, MDWonderful experience.👍👍

Eye Doctors of Washington: what do users think?

Stephen Taylor: Dr. Vicente is a wonderful and truly gifted doctor! I really appreciate Dr. Vicente’s “bedside manner” and all the time he took to provide a thorough explanation of all the details of my procedure. as well as the recovery period. He really put me at ease. Similarly, my post-op care has been exceptional. In addition to Dr. Vicente, I want to thank his superb team at Eye Doctors of Washington for their great service to me. I am enjoying my new sights!!!

Jan LaRocque Kappas: Fantastic practice. Dr. Vicente is a fabulous pediatric ophthalmologist. He has been great with both my children. It takes awhile to get an appointment (~3 months out in my experience), but worth it. The assistants and facilities are great as well. Easy to get to with plenty of street and public parking available if the spots provided by the office are taken.

Desireè: The office is clean, tidy and the lighting is pleasant. The front desk staff are warm and friendly. Nelson is Dr.Wong’s assistant, he’s professional and has a cheerful disposition. Dr.Wong takes the time to explain things thoroughly and discuss treatment options appropriately. She’s both highly intelligent and kind which sadly is a rare combination in the medical field. If I had to mention one gripe it would be the kiosk. You have to sign in on the kiosk before a team member can assist you. It’s not my favorite but considering everything else about this office is pretty great it’s not a deal breaker.

Emily Menard: I really enjoy the experience received with Eye Doctors of Washington in Chevy Chase. Dr. Wong has seen my child twice and each time they have a nice conversation while completing the eye exam. They do several tests/screening in new patients and a follow up. They bill insurance as medical verse optical (not billed as a routine exam). Might cause some insurance issues for some people. Parking is tight in their parking garage, so I prefer to park across the street (use quarters in the meter). The building directions are great, but the suite is a little hard to find the first time. Located in a One way road. Allow time for parking.

M A: Dr Vike Vincente is one of the best physicians I’ve dealt with hands down. He is so personable and friendly while being thorough and accurate. We came early and we’re seen early. Cindy was amazing too. The whole staff were polite and efficient. I can’t thank the whole team enough for making our experience easy and informative. If you need an eye doctor for your child this is the doctor to see!

Haneen Shalabi: Dr. Vicente and staff are wonderful with kids! So caring and really took time to engage my son and try to get him comfortable. Highly recommended office.

Binila Abraham: Dr. Vincente was super personable and great with my 11 yo son. He explained everything to us and answered our questions thoroughly. Dr. V. changed my son's opinion about going to the eye doctor for the better.

Muzit Mesfun-Mehari: I took my 6 year old daughter to see Dr. Vicente today and I can say that we both had an excellent experience. Dr. Vicente has an excellent rapport with children and matching expertise/knowledge which is a magical combination!

Ted Unnikumaran: Dr. Vike Vicente saw my daughter. Quite possibly the best doctors' visit she has ever had. He took his time explaining everything, was affable, and didn't try to sell us glasses which weren't necessary.

Bukola P.: Dr Vicente is an amazing doctor. He listens to your concerns and is very informative. He is wonderful with children. I would highly recommend him.

Eye Doctors of Washington: what do users think?

Esther Thomas: My experience with Eye Doctors of Washington have always been positive. I am greeted with kindness by the staff. They are very professional and respectable towards myself and others. My doctor, Dr. Schor, has always been respectable and friendly. Dr. Schor always provides me with updates about my treatment for glaucoma. He's highly qualified providing all the advanced treatment options for me to manage glaucoma . Everyone is very kind and caring.

Jocilyn Budda: Dr Lee and Dr Clinch have been wonderful through every step of my lasik experience. They answer all of my questions and they urge me to reach out if I have any concerns. Their demeanor is calming and put me at ease through the entire process. Would recommend them to anyone considering lasik.

Paula Bobys: My visit today was to measure my eyes for cataract surgery in 2 weeks. The technician, EJ, was very reassuring and patient. Dr. Shah then examined my eyes and discussed which procedure and type of lens she thought would be best for me. She answered all of my questions and together we decided on laser surgery with a toric lens implanted. Dr. Shah is very professional, thorough and thoughtful. .

Pifong Shiek: My first impression was that it was an efficient doctors' office. The technicians seemed to know their job and the operations were smooth and well oiled. I did not have to wait unduly and the process was slick. Moreover, Dr Schor impressed me as a knowledgeable doctor. This is my first visit.

Katherine Hubley: Fabulous staff! I has a very efficient visit - everything was explained well to me. All techs are professional and pleasant. Dr. Shah is also wonderful and takes the time to answer questions and be sure that patients understand her explanations.

Barbara Neitzey: I have been waiting one week to be contacted by Dr Shah’s surgical scheduler to schedule cataract surgery. I have left messages and spoken to telephone receptionist with my concern. I don’t believe it’s the patient’s responsibility to chase down the scheduler. Last week I had my last appointment before surgery and was quietly told by a competent technician that she wasnt in her office and that if she didn’t phone me, to keep calling her. RED FLAG. Now what to do???? Is there another scheduler or doctor I can see?
Response: Hi Barbara. We pride ourselves on creating the best patient experience possible. We set a high standard for ourselves and are truly sorry to hear that was not met. I have passed your concerns along to the management team. You will be contacted directly to discuss further.

Robin Schoen: Professional from start to finish, this busy practice took care of the cataract in my eye with a minimum of pre surgery stress, down time, and inconvenience. The huge staff operates under a culture of care and efficiency, as well as kindness. I paid more from my pocket than my insurance company would for the procedure and lens I got but it. Was. Worth. It.

Joe Blanton: I have always found the doctors and technicians at EDOW to be first rate, professional, compassionate, and friendly. I like that Dr. Clinch carefully explains what is going on with regard to my eyes, and wants to make sure I understand his explanations. I feel that the care of my eyes is in good hands at EDOW.

Filomena Lococo: Office moved efficiently; see great improved even over pre-pandemic times. Each technician moved quickly, calmly and efficiently. Doctor Shah was well versed with all tests and looked over tests with me while also examining me herself.

Visionary Eye Doctors: what do users think?

Alison M. Hecimovich: Arrived the day of the appointment and the fire alarms were being tested for the whole building. No fault of the practice, but it was difficult to concentrate and hear with the alarms going off every few minutes. Technician was kind. Saw the doctor for all of 3 minutes. Optical department was horrific. Didn’t read my prescription correctly for contacts the first time, charged the incorrect amount three different times to correct that error. Was told contacts would arrive between 7-10 days after appointment. 10 days go by and still no contacts. Messaged the office; no response. Called the office and left a message; no response. When I finally get a person on the line three weeks after my appointment, they say that it shows my contacts should be delivered by that Saturday (a month after my appointment). When I finally receive my contacts, the invoice says the order was placed the day I called and actually spoke to someone. Not sure if I’ll be returning.

Linda Sugiarto: I have never seen even by the technician on time. I have never left this doctor office in less than an hour. Typically I waited for about an hour just to get the technician just to see me then I had to wait again to see the doctor. They need to stop over booking patients so that they could make more money. They need to respect their patient's time.
Response: Hi Linda, we’d like to apologize for your negative experience. At Visionary Eye Doctors, we prioritize client satisfaction and customer service, so we would like to speak with you further about your situation and how we may be able to rectify it. Please give us a call at (301) 896-0890 x 148 to further discuss your review.

Stephanie Thomas: Beautiful office and amazing staff. I took my son to get an exam and he had his glasses in like a week and a half.
Response: Thank you for the great review, Stephanie. We are incredibly happy to hear that you were satisfied with our services. Looking forward to seeing you at your next visit.

Mark Magellan: Very professional. And the doctor couldn't have been kinder / more empathic. They made an otherwise tough experience much more human and manageable.
Response: Hi Mark, thank you so much for taking the time to supply feedback. We are so delighted that you rate our service as 5 Star as we strive to provide just that for all our patients. We Look forward to seeing you again soon. Best Wishes.

Felicia A Lightfoot: I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff, most particularly to Francois. I appreciate his quiet manner; his patience; the way he communicates my eye care needs; the ways he cares for the patients. My last visit was outstanding! thanks to him and the rest of the staff!
Response: Thank you Felicia for your kind words. Our team of professionals at Visionary Eye Doctors, are dedicated to providing you and all our patients the very best in eye care. It is so nice to hear that your experience was such a positive one. We'll share this with our team, to let them know to keep up the amazing work. Thank you for choosing us as your eye care provider. We look forward to seeing you again.

Andre Perret: Bad service all around. The main issue was that even though there were respectful and good customer service, they cancelled an appointment surgery after we show up the same day. They didn't call or inform us about the cancellation, and they still charged $180 for that day. I have tried to communicate with them and show evidence but they still don't remove the charges. The ophthalmologist clearly stated no charges for that day, but still they counted and well I won't pay it, but it seems collection disagrees. It is what it is, but there was no fair communication. This is for the Washington DC reviews, it seems the other agency works for efficiency with paperwork.
Response: Hello Andre, we apologize for any negative impressions we may have created during your experience with us. It is never our intention to leave our customers feeling dissatisfied. As we continue to strive for complete customer satisfaction, we would love to take this opportunity to speak more with you about your negative experience. Please call us at (301) 836-3165 at your earliest convenience so we can work to correct this situation.

Elisa Ferrara Gunduz: I very much like the doctors and recommend going for a doctor visit. This review is mainly about their optical department that you are funneled to after your doctor visit. Overall they are not the most organized or service oriented, but this latest interaction was very frustrating. I made an appointment to pick up a box of contacts - one would think that would about 5 minutes, but it took about 25 - there's just no reason that it should take so long to pick up a purchase.

Roxana Gonzales: During the services for Visionary Eye Doctor, we had services on Dec 2nd and then on Dec 23rd for a Stye eye for my daughter. The doctor had a consultation on the 2nd but then on the 23rd we went to the office waited 1.5-2 hours and when we enter with Doctor Nima Moainie, MD, he apologized that he kept us waiting but he was not going to be able to perform the surgery that day for which we cancelled our jobs to go and be with out 10yo daughter. Therefore he said he would cancelled the previous consultation since we didn't have the surgery for the consultation and the work performed for that consultation. We got charged out of pocket $180 and out jobs cost us mine and my wife that day of work. I'm reporting this also because we try to negotiate with Visionary Eye Doctor, and they were confrontation, and disrespectful.
Response: Hi Roxana, we’d like to apologize for your negative experience. At Visionary Eye Doctors, we prioritize client satisfaction and customer service, so we would like to speak with you further about your situation and how we may be able to rectify it. Please give us a call at (301) 836-3165 to further discuss your review.

Meira Neggaz: I have come here twice, once for a particular eye issue and once for an opthamology check up. Both times the service and medical expertise were great. The doctor I saw was friendly, knowledgable and thorough. I would highly recommend this office for opthamology needs.

Corinne Plough: Great first experience! Dr. Saaed was so nice and helped give me options to find the contacts that are the best fit and comfort for me. She also asked Dr. Sarezky to pop in, and he gave me the best explanation about pros/cons to surgically treating my cataract that I’ve ever gotten. Beautiful facility, lots of high-tech instruments (not sure what they all do but they seem cool), and great staff from reception to the doctors. I didn’t realize at first that I had been scheduled with an optometrist not ophthalmologist for a dual vision/medical appointment, but it all worked out in the end. Overall great experience and will certainly be coming back.

Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons: what do users think?

Pat Cinelli: I had sudden vision loss and required surgery. I evaluated several Ophthalmology practices prior to making my selection. At every juncture, from reception to technicians, to nurses, scheduling, and Drs. Martin and Schwartz, it was apparent that this practice is without peers. Each person was more knowledgeable, experienced, thorough, caring, and professional than the other ophthalmology practices I visited. Thanks to Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons, my condition was properly diagnosed and treated. If you are searching for the best eye doctors in the DC region, look no further. Top notch!
Response: Hi Pat! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We are happy to hear that your experience with everyone in our office was positive. -Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons

Randy Fajotina: After 38 years of glasses and contacts I am finally able to enjoy great vision after having PRK performed by Dr Flanders. The office and staff were extremely supportive throughout the entire process. I highly recommend them!
Response: Hi Randy! Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear about your positive experience with our staff and Dr. Flanders. -Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons

Sandy Greer: I have been a patient in this practice for over 27 years and through all my eye surgeries, lasers, treatments, appointments I have always been treated with respect and care from each of the doctors involved in my care. They have work together to retain as much possible for a multi complex eye problem. I cannot speak more highly of Arthur Schwartz’s and Marwa Adi’s, superior care and expertise on my behalf. I feel privileged to be a patient in their care.
Response: Hi Sandy, We can’t thank you enough for the kind words about your relationship with Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons. Your review means a lot to us! -the doctors and staff of Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons

Anne Henderson: I have had two procedures by the great doctors at Washington Eye. My cataracts were removed and my eyelids lifted to restore my peripheral vision. Both procedures went well, with no complications and quick healing. Dr. Marwa Adi and Dr. Mehta were both superb. I recommend them highly and without reservation.
Response: Hi Anne, thank you so much for your five-star review. We are delighted to hear that you had a positive experience with us at Washington Eye Physicians and Surgeons!

Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We will be sure to share your feedback with the group.- Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons

David L. Craig: After cataract surgery in my left eye by another practice, they referred me to Dr. Adi following a Fuchs Dystrophy diagnosis. Thus far as a patient of Dr. Adi I have experienced a corneal transplant in my left eye four months ago, then cataract surgery in the right eye a week ago, plus in-office laser and eye rebubbling procedures, as well as a second rebubbling procedure at the surgery center. To date I am exceptionally pleased with the competence and demeanor of everyone involved and highly recommend this practice.
Response: Hi David, we’d just like to thank you for taking the time to write this review of Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons.

Richard Schiripa: I had an eye exam for cataracts. The doctor and all the technicians were excellent. Everyone was very professional and courteous. Everything was explained in detail and they answered all my questions. I plan to go back to have my cataract surgery.
Response: Hi Richard, we can’t thank you enough for the kind words about Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons. Your review means a lot to us!

Patricia Mitchell: I made an appointment with Dr. Gorman who was recommended by the Doctor I had been seeing for 40 years.I took the prescriptions to Apex and spent almost $700.00. I picked them up today and all three pair project blurred vision. I would like a recommendation of another Dr. in your practice asap to correct the problem Pleas call or email me. Numbers in my file with you. My apology ,the Dr, wasDawson. She also forgot to include the prisms in the prescriptions. Fortunately Apex caught it and called her. I would like to see someone else in the practice.
Response: Hi Patricia, thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your recent experience. A manager will reach out to you shortly to resolve this issue. -Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons

heather pinckney: Dr. Flanders and his staff are OUTSTANDING!! I found him after 2 urgent care drs, another optamologist and the ER failed to diagnosis or treat my eye issue. He was kind, courteous and got my eyes together. He was truthful, upfront and helped me get thru a scary time with my eyes. He is a great doctor and I'm forever Thankful. ❤
Response: Hi Heather, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are glad to hear that you had a good experience! -the doctors and staff of Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons

Robert Hornak: I’m a patient at Washington Eye and I see two Dr’s here. Dr Schwartz for glaucoma and Dr Mehta for plastic surgery (eyes). I could not ask for better doctors. I have complete confidence in the doctors and the practice as a whole. There are other services available and if needed I will be sure to use Washington Eye. I highly recommend this practice for anyone needing any type of eyecare.

Howard University Hospital- Ophthalmology: what do users think?

K. Beautiful Powell: The wait is ridiculous and very unnecessary. Office is never appealing and half of the staff are personable and professional. Dr. Jones is nice. But there is better out here

Rahel Amanuel: I honestly can’t believe after 4 hours my mom is still waiting for final evaluation by the doctor!! This clinic is not run efficiently and during this time with Covid , they should try to get patients in and out much sooner.. no such luck . Very disappointed in the way this facility operates and we will not be returning .

Woubetu Yimer: It is my pleasure to express my observation on the customer service and the treatment I obtained at your Ophthalmology Department since Aug-15-2017- Oct – 4-2017. During those days, the treatment obtained from your department—particularly the eye surgery, was successful and ended without complications. In the meantime, I would like to thank the outstanding services given to me by the technicians, nurses, and receptionist. Everything was great and wonderful! Sincerely, Hail Mariam Mintwab

James Sumner: I have had a great experience with Dr. Bilal Khan. I was in need of a retinal specialist a few years back when I first met Dr. Khan. I found him to be very knowledgeable, kind, caring, and compassionate. Back at that time, he was heaven sent to me! I always say that "He Is One Of The Best In The City." I continue to see him today. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Regina Williams: I was very disappointed about the 2 hours I had to wait (after my scheduled appointment time) before I was seen by a doctor, but the saving grace was Dr. Asima Bajwa. Dr. Bajwa apologized for the long wait, which I greatly appreciated, and proceeded to give me a thorough eye exam and answered my numerous questions with patience, expertise, and humor. Dr. Bajwa was wonderful and I wish her continued success in the future! Suggestion for HUH Ophthalmology: Please notify patients (when they arrive) if they are going to have to wait 2-3 hours or longer to see a doctor so the patient can decide to stay and wait or reschedule for another day. Thank You.

Shenna Johnson: I visited Howard’s Opthalmology office because of a chemical exposure to my eye. I was a walk-in patient, and spent about 3 hours of my time there. I thought that the Physician, Dr. Richard, was competent and very knowledgeable. Overall, I am happy with my visit and would recommend.

Catherine Uzoamaka Nwokolo: Dr Jones was extremely patient and attentive. She took the time to carefully review my results and explain all my care options. I highly recommend her

Roxanna Mannan: I would give this place a zero star if there was an option for it. The wait time with an appointment is 3 to 5 hours to be seen by the doctor. It's the worst hospital I have ever been to. Save yourself the time and energy, find a different eye doctor.

David Kanyinda: There’s a guy named Nathaniel who is the greatest human being there. I’ll never sleep in contacts again he saved my eye

Adriana Santos: We here waiting for 2 hours and still haven't been seen. Horrible experience. Bad customer service not allowing to tell you anything if they running late.

The Retina Group of Washington: what do users think?

Angel Jackson: I have really bad anxiety when it comes to medical procedures of ANY kind. They were patient with me, even when it almost seemed like I couldn't get it under control. They gave me time, water & thoroughly explained the procedure that was going to take place. Dr. Huang was really nice & thorough. Don't think I'll be as anxious my next visit

princess abudabah: The office staff are friendly and typically greet you by name as you enter the door. I miss Dr. Spellman’s personal touch though. Even though he was always busy he took time to speak with you and remember things about you. Since he is retired I now see Dr. Venkat. I have no complaints about the excellent service she provided. I do wish she were more personable. After waiting for over 45 mins for the office visit, her actual examination felt rushed and perfunctory.
Response: Princess, thank you for sharing your feedback with our physicians and staff.

roderick johnson: The assistants were helpful and courteous. The time at the clinic has improved from 3 hours down to an hour and a half. Superior service would be in and out in one hour.

Jacqueline Hancock: My experiences here are truly outstanding. Dr. Sonya is the best ever. Staff is constantly cleaning to keep clients safe. Thanks for caring.

Xenon Booth: The wait is always quite long, but everyone is very friendly. Dr. Bryant is amazing and as well as all the nurses.

Dab B: The staff was very personable and professional. Dr. Bryant was very patient explaining the issues and provided options as necessary. Very professional.

Richard Greene: An overall good experience. The reviews indicating that there is a wait time are true. I had a 2pm appointment and did not leave until 4pm. That said they have a lot of patients, which means there’s a slight delay in appointment times. That aside I felt the staff was professional, courteous, and had a good bed side manner as they explained everything they were doing and answered all my questions. The doctor (can’t recall her name at the moment) was also good and gave me confidence that she knew what she was doing, which is what you want when someone is messing around with your eyes!

Laura Scharfenberg: I am uncertain how to rate my visit today. I had to leave the office after waiting for approximately two hours. When I asked when I might expect to be seen, the receptionist said it may still be another 30-45 minutes and that when coming in for an appointment, I should plan on allowing 3-4 hours. I have high regard for Dr. Spellman, and appreciate his willingness to be thorough with his patients as well as the fact that he has a number of emergency patients each day. However, I do not appreciate spending 3-4 hours in the office, the vast majority of which is in the waiting room. There must be a better system. That said, his staff is very considerate and professional and I have great respect and confidence in everyone I have encountered in the office. I am considering making a follow up appt with his colleague for whom I was told the time in the waiting room is not nearly as long.

Brian Niemiec: Had a really great experience. They were able to see me the same day, which was awesome. Dr Huang did a thorough exam and helped me understand what was happening. It alleviated my fears. I would highly recommend Dr Huang at RGW.

F Slacum: Great customer service from the start! Thank you Dr. Bryant! And thanks to your entire team!!

Columbia Eye Associates: what do users think?

J Fehrenbach: I have had great experiences with Dr. Luthra. He is thorough, approachable, professional, and explains things cogently. I am especially satisfied with his cataract surgery on both of my eyes. The surgical procedures and the results have been excellent. Based on the information he provided, I decided to go with the multi-focal lenses, which was a wise decision.
Response: Thank you Mr. Fehrenbach for your kind comments! We’re so happy that you had such a great outcome after cataract surgery and the multi-focal intraocular lenses!

Bob: Excellent care over the past ten years. Dr. Luthra virtually changed my life when -- during cataract removal surgery -- he inserted permanent lenses that allow me to see 20/20. (I was legally blind and had an astigmatism prior to the brief surgery.) In addition to having top technical skills, he is that rare doctor who cares about his patients, explains all options, and doesn't push. His office staff has been helpful throughout, even when I called from a trip in Central America.

Dennis Chong: Dr. Luthra has been my primary eyecare doc for many years now. He is engaging and personable so visits aren't overly clinical and dry. He recently performed Epi-Lasik for me (my eyes were so bad I couldn't get standard lasik) and it has been an utter miracle. I'm pretty much at 20/20 now most of the time and honestly I didn't expect that level of success. Would totally recommend.
Response: Thank you Mr. Chong for your kind comments! Congratulations on your excellent outcome!

Susan Rodgers: Dr. Luthra performed my cataract surgeries last August and October. I had the basic lenses covered by Medicare, and was so excited about my 20/10 vision after healing. I have the upmost faith in Dr. Luthra, and especially enjoy his quirky sense of humor. The surgery clinic he uses is top notch.

Deborah Siluk: This doctor is awesome! Through his expertise and talent, he saved the vision in my eye and probably the eye itself. His calm nature and sense of humor helped so much in keeping my stress level down. He is extremely informative and writes down all my instructions for me and makes himself available if any issues arise. I can't say enough good things about him. I even found out one of my other doctors goes to him and she had the same view. I think that says a lot. His staff are wonderful.
Response: Thank you Deborah for your kind comments!

Fallon O'Brien: I made an emergency last-minute appointment at Columbia Eye Associates last year, for (what I would find out to be) a corneal ulcer. While I was very nervous and uneducated on the issue, Dr. Luthra took quick action on an aggressive treatment plan and made me feel at ease. He provides excellent care and takes his patients’ health very seriously. He does not sugar coat things and provides his patients’ with thorough information. He saw me every single day for a week, and multiple times per week for months after that, and gave me his cell phone in case of emergency. Fast forward 13 months and I have 20/20 vision and no ulcer, thanks to Dr. Luthra. He performed epi-LASIK surgery on me in March and I could not be happier. If you are in the Washington, D.C. area and need an ophthalmologist, Columbia Eye Associates is where you need to go.
Response: Thanks so much Fallon for your kind comments!

Donna Barnes: Aftercare from cataract surgery went downhill after such a successful surgery. During my 24 hour checkup, Dr. Luthra's mood and attitude changed towards me after asking questions and repeating my vision rating that one of his assistants had told me weeks ago during a pre op exam. She was relatively new and was giving me an exam that included staring at a light for 5 seconds and repeating it 3 times for each eye. She said my vision was fine and that I had 20/25 vision. I remember this because I never heard those numbers before. During this post operation visit, I asked him about the 20/25 rating and he said no it's 20/40. Then proceeded to tell me he was not going to do my second eye and that he has a right to refuse a patient. He accused me of making numbers up and that he did not like my line of questions. I felt totally humiliated because all I could think of was who would do my second eye and how I would have to find another dr...etc,etc. He totally disrespected me and abused his authority as my doctor. I went home feeling stressed. He had indicated that after eye surgery that it is important not to get stressed. His dismissing me for asking questions and repeating a vision rate that was told to me - was unprofessional. He never asked where I got the numbers. He was answering my questions as though I was a child and made me feel inferior for asking. I couldn't sleep that night trying to figure what went wrong and why was he so short with me, as well as, contemptible and unpleasant. I honestly feel he was already having a bad day and took it out on me because there was no excuse. I even felt he should have called me and apologized. When I left his office I asked him to please reconsider and he said he would think about it. When I got home I made several calls and found out it would be no problem switching doctors and that I should be fine. The following day I cancelled my 1 week follow up and the appt to do surgery on the 2nd eye. He must have changed his mind because I was still on the books, which tells me he realized his actions were uncalled for. All I could think of was what if he has one of those moods while working on my second eye!!!!!

Kim Wilson: After a frustrating month seeing multiple other doctors, Dr. luthra was the only one able to properly treat and heal my reoccurring styes. I moved but continued driving 45 mins to see him. Thank you!
Response: Thank you Ms. Wilson for your kind comments!

Scott Cooper: I have been a patient of Dr Luthra for nearly 8-years now, and I highly recommend. Besides coming in for annual eye exams, I also had Dr Luthra perform my Lasik surgery two years ago (it’s been life changing - and I wish I had done it sooner!). Dr Luthra’s knowledge, professionalism, and demeanor have made him one of my top doctors in DC. Highly recommended.
Response: Thanks Scott!

Elizabeth Nelson: I had a very pleasant experience at columbia eye associates. I had seen another doctor before coming to Dr. Luthra and the service I received at Columbia eye associates was way better. Dr. Luthra was recommended to me by a co-worker and I am so glad I decided to see him. Dr. Luthra took time to listen to my concerns and patiently explained me the diagnosis. I had eye issues since my childhood, Dr. Luthra is the one doctor that who seemed to be genuinely concerned about the health of my eye. He is very knowledgeable, no wonder the co-worker who recommended him spoke so highly of him. I even called Dr. Luthra on the weekend for some issue and he told me exactly what would help me. I am so happy with the care that I received. The place was clean and everyone followed the protocols. I would any day recommend Columbia Eye Associates to my friends and family.
Response: Thanks Elizabeth for your kind comments!

Washington Eye Doctors - Downtown, DC: what do users think?

Jim Liu: I visited Washington Eye Doctors for my dry eyes. Dr. Rosenblatt is awesome, he is very respectful and professional. Zero pressure when you talk to him. After the treatments, I feel absolutely better. Eye dryness is painful, and someone says it's more like a disability than a disorder. I can't agree more. Before I get the treatments, I can't even sit down and type these words for like 15 mins. Now I am not 100% recovered but at least I could work and study like a normal person. I am still using prescribed medications and I am confident that this problem is treatable. If you have dry eyes, try to contact Dr. Roosenblatt is the best advice I could give.
Response: Dear Jim, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See." and how they see. Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Amanda Blake: The absolute best choice for dry eye! I had been suffering for years, and now my eyes are drastically better after only three months of proper treatment. Dr. Abraham is excellent. He explains things very clearly and listens to concerns with compassion. I really appreciate his help and cannot recommend Washington Eye Doctors highly enough, especially for dry eye patients.
Response: Dear Amanda, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See.". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Karen Moe: Dr Rosenblatt has been my eye doctor for many years and worked with me to get my proper correction for nearsightedness. My extra-sensitive system was previously over-corrected and his prescriptions enabled my vision to be more relaxed and stabilize. The glasses are high quality and good fit. I’m especially fond of the nearly weightless frames and lenses.
Response: Dear Karen, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See.". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Jacques Moore: I’ve been a customer and patient at Washington Eye Doctors for about a year and a half. Overall it’s been great. The front desk staff are pleasant. Dr. Rosen later is knowledgeable, kind and takes time to answer questions and explain things in layman’s terms. I think perhaps one of their frame and lens specialists might need more training on listening to the customer and clearly understanding my needs before recommending something that doesn’t work (i.e. fit me properly). But the other two I’ve worked with have been excellent.

Janet Davis: I have been a patient of Dr. Michael P. Rosenblatt's for 12+ years. The staff has always been professional, polite, accommodating, and pleasant to be around. Dr. Rosenblatt is knowledgeable, friendly, and reliable. I have never had an issue and have recommended at least 5 friends to them. Within the last 4 years I had to change insurance companies which meant that I had to change eye doctors. Even with a long absence upon my return I was treated like family. Although I only visit for contact lenses he is still my favorite eye doctor in the city and I will continue to recommend the Washington Eye Doctors.
Response: Dear Janet, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Mary Wood: As always, staff is wonderful and welcoming. Dr. Rosenblatt always takes a lot of time to be sure my contacts fit. And he has been helpful with my dry eye problem. I've been coming to Dr. Rosenblatt for 20 years and I have always had really good experiences.
Response: Dear Mary, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Barbara Graham: I Love Dr Rosenblatt I been a patient for over 20 years he is the best I was in his office on yesterday He is treating me for dry eyes I can tell a difference in one day my eyes feel so much better . When I get new eyeglasses I do not need time to adjust to the new glasses because he did a great job . And the staff is very friendly and very helpful. The office and the bathroom is very clean . I give Dr rosenblatt and his staff five star for doing a Great job and what they do taking care of my eyes Barbara G
Response: Dear Barbara, Thank you for taking the time to provide us and others with a great review. Our mission is to make certain that every patient "Loves What They See". Our goal is to provide every patient with exceptional: Quality, Service and Knowledge, our three founding pillars.

Randy Capps: I have been with Washington Eye Doctors for 50 years since the Katz/Kanstroom days. They guided me through bifocals as a kid, contacts as an adolescent and Lasik as an adult. 25 years after Lasik I still have near perfect vision. I just went back for night driving glasses. Fleur Gedamke: I am continually impressed with all the staff at the WEI. I am always treated with respect and am given the most thorough tests, advice and overall care. The young staff that do the tests are stellar and polite and my Doctor is so informative. I had lens replacement surgery and am always going back for check-ups - and I am always pleased with their service. They are patient and really listen to your concerns. It is clean and efficient.
Response: Thank you for your kind review. We are happy to hear of your great experiences in our office and look forward to caring for your eyes for years to come!

Wood Twig: Wonderful service. I elected to have my astigmatism fixed and I no longer need glasses other than readers.Would recommend to anyone that wants personal service with a great outcome.
Response: Thank you for your kind referral. We are happy to hear of your great outcome!

Anton Jones: 2022 update: This is still the best eye care Dr, staff and facility. Thank you WEI Team 🙌🏾. I've been going here since 2019. Well, I'm still going back. Dr. Ashker is great. She really cares about my health. She takes time to explain things. She even goes into greater detail when asked. The rest of the staff is super friendly and professional. They never make me feel like I'm bother them. The new office space is great too. It accommodates a good about of patients without being crowded. The office is very clean. I see staff wiping seats and machines after each patient with is to be expected during this pandemic. They were doing that pre-pandemic anyway from what I've seen. This is an outstanding place with a great team people professionals.
Response: Thank you for the update on your past review. We are happy to hear you have had great experiences with us! --Thank you for a great review. We agree, Dr. Ashker is great! We make sure our office is thoroughly cleaned/sanitized and this will continue post-pandemic.

Cynthia Brown: My experience with my appointment at W.E.I. I sighed in then as I was doing my paper work, I was greated by a person that work there , she gave me a tress ball and offered me juice, water, peanut butter, crackers. Everyone that worked there was so nice and professional, in my 61 year I have never experienced this, All doctors offices should be like this..Thank you Washington Eye Institute.
Response: Thank you for your kind words. We take pride in being one of the few practices in the area that employ a Patient Advocate. We value our patients and we are happy to hear of your great experience!

Felicia Hamilton: They were very professional. I was seen in a timely manner. I felt as though I had a total eye examination, more thorough than other places. The optometrist explained everything to me so I could understand my condition. She gave me an overview of my upcoming procedures and actually look forward to it. PS. The office also provided free water and snack. Didn't have time to eat and boy was it welcomed. Thanks Washington Eye Institute.
Response: Thank you for your kind words and 5 star review. We are happy to hear of your great experience and that you were able to take part in the free water and snacks!

Lisa Lisa: Excellent team of caring personnel. Dedicated team who enjoy their work and it shows in the care that you receive! Thorough medical exam and treatment. I have been going here for years with Dr. Summerfield as my physician and I continue to receive excellent care!
Response: Thank you for your kind review. We are happy to hear of your great experience and we look forward to caring for your eyes for many years to come!

H Blake: I am so happy that I came to the Washington Eye Institute. Dr. Seevaratram is extremely good!! She helped me so much. This place is very good.
Response: Thank you for your kind words and 5-star review. We are happy to hear of your great experience. We agree, Dr. See is great!

Nancy Beigel: Excellent medical visit. All staff members were welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. The vision testing was done with the latest technology so it was less invasive than the older methods. The test for glasses prescription was done by the doctor, not a tech. It yielded a much stronger correction than other tests have done. I look forward to getting my new glasses so I can stop squinting to try and see in the distance.
Response: We are so happy to hear you had an excellent experience with our team. Thank you for sharing your experience and for the five star review!

Qianru Liao: Strongly recommends this eye clinic! Inside all are talented people! Dr. Chu is patient and gentle, besides, the front desk brother looks dashing! It's only once a year for the eye exam. I’ll introduce this institution to all my friends and come back next year!
Response: Thank you for your kind words. We agree, Dr. Chu is one of the best! We look forward to seeing you next year!

Rose H: Great staff. Dr. Chu is awesome; she explained the procedures and made me very comfortable. I highly recommend this eye care center.

Washington Eye Consultants: what do users think?

R Ragland: Dr. Dan Yin is fantastic! Her "bed-side manner" is the best I've ever experienced. Her vast expertise in both vision corrective laser surgery and cataract lens replacement was quite evident when I got both procedures done simultaneously in the fall of 2021 (one eye at a time, of course!). The staff are friendly, extremely competent and professional. Follow-up appointments were well-organized and very thorough. It's been 6 months since my 2nd eye was done. My vision is perfect, I've had zero complications and could not be more pleased with the results. Go see Dr. Yin. You'll be glad you did!

Samina: Dr. Yin is an amazing physician and has excellent bed side manner. She answered all my questions and is very personable and kind. I can tell she truly cares about her patients and their vision concerns!! I will be going back to her regularly! Also all of the techs were super friendly, competent and efficient.

fledge 2b: 5 stars all the way! Thank you Dr. Yin! i just completed my second cataract surgery in three months (both were with a monofocal lens and manual surgery), and my distance vision is now vivid and crisp, actually better than I've ever had. The surgeries were comfortable and painless, and the staff both at the office and at the Palisades Eye Surgery Center were great. I especially appreciated Dr. Yin's patient explanation of all my technical questions - very reassuring; made the entire process a lot less scary.

Kate Shin: Visited today for routine eye check up for my family. Front desk staffs and nurses were highly efficient yet kind and Dr Yin was friendly and kind enough to explain what I needed to know. One of the best practices I have been to in recent years on overall service and efficiency!

Shashi G: I’ve been seeing (literally) Dr. Chu for over 25 years now. After wearing glasses for many decades, Dr. Chu’s office provided a wonderful selection of frames and many name brands as well. The state-of-the art equipment is very impressive, and the entire team of office staff is very helpful. His office runs smoothly and never have to wait more than 5-10 mins. My cataract surgery last year was very reassuring and comforting experience. I still see perfect 20/20. Dr. Chu called me after each eye surgery and was very compassionate and made sure I was not having any complications. I strongly recommend Dr. Chu for any type of eye care. Dr. Chu gets ***** from me for professionalism, skill, knowledge, and compassion.
Response: I greatly appreciate your kind review. Thank you Shashi. Dr. Chu

Noreen Warren: I selected this practice after researching ophthalmologists on the internet. I had recently moved to Maryland and finding good quality medical care was both a priority and a concern. Dr. Chu has exceeded my expectations. This practice is well run and Dr. Chu is a skilled and compassionate physician. I found the office to be conveniently located and well run with plenty of parking and virtually no wait time upon arrival for appointments. I had cataracts and at the same time I found I was unable to continue detailed needlework, Dr. Chu began to discuss them with me at my regular checkup. He patiently explained and described my problem and options for treatment. I decided to proceed with surgical removal of the cataracts. Dr. Chu discussed the surgery with me until I felt very comfortable with the entire process. He provided pamphlets and carefully designed documents as well as plenty of opportunity to ask questions and air my concerns. I could not have been better prepared. The surgery went without a hitch. My vision is very clear, much better than I expected. I am thrilled with the experience and the results. I highly recommend this practice for your eye care.

Jessica Mollard: As someone who has been highly myopic my entire life, I had always wanted to correct my vision but was always told it wasnt possible. Finally my vision stabilized and my eye dr recommended Washington Eye Consultants and the clear lens extraction procedure (cataract surgery). I'm happy to say that my experience was everything that I hoped for. The office staff is exceptionally professional and Dr Yin took her time in assessing me as a candidate and explaining my options. Once we decided to go forward, the procedure was a huge success. I can see clearly now without the aid of glasses or contacts. Now thanks to Dr. Yin, I no longer have to worry about wearing painful or dry contacts, finding my glasses every morning, or spending obscene amounts of money on special order contact lenses. I really feel that Dr Yin and the staff at WEC has changed my life and I am very very grateful. I will never take being able to see clearly for granted! I highly recommend her if you are considering any procedure there.

Rock Marquis: Before I set out for my cataract surgery of both eyes, I did my due diligence regarding the maturity of the technology, choice of lens, but most importantly, choice of eye surgeon. After all, it is my eyesight that I will live for the rest of my life. During the process, I came across two of my friends who had recently gone through cataract surgery, and both of them where patients of Dr. Chu, and both of them highly recommend Dr. Chu as they had nothing but total success. I took their recommendation and as the saying goes, the rest is history. I am so happy with Dr. Chu, from the initial consultation that was transparent, to the processes that was so smooth, but most importantly, the end results that are just flawless with zero complication. I would highly recommend Dr. Chu and the staff of the Washington Eye Consultants!

Khang Nguyen: Doctor Chu performed cataract surgery for me and I sincerely appreciated his profound expertise as well as his kind patience in giving me all needed professional advice on the choice of IOL. I am very happy I had chosen to have multifocal lenses because I can write today these lines without glasses. Again, I wish to convey my sincere thanks to Dr. Chu and his staff for their excellent care.

Rose Rolling: For Dr. Chu and assistant staff have been excellent . Being that the eye/s are a very sensitive part of the body , the training ,experience, and services rendered makes me feel not anxious, nervous, or uncomfortable . I would highly refer or recommend The eye/s care for his services .

Evan Long: Big fan of Dr. Lamothe. Smoothly run practice, courteous staff and a nice office, and he acts like an owner (since he is). I also appreciated their attention to helping me optimize my care for my vision benefits.

Analisa: Dr. Lamothe is the best eye doctor I have ever had. He really cares about your overall heath and how it relates to your vision. His staff is also great. Love the office environment and great location just a block away from Metro.

Trace Main: Dr. Lamothe is simply the most professional eye doctor I've had over the past 20 years seeing a different doctor almost every year. I've visited him twice now. He's polite, professional, informative, and sensitive to the unique needs I've had during both visits. He gives you the feeling that he truly values your concerns and provides expert consultation in return.

Sarah OMalley: Dr. Lamothe is a great eye doctor, and I recommend him to anyone! He is friendly and professional and explains everything thoroughly during and after check-ups. His office is also taking great care during the pandemic to ensure the health and safety of their staff and customers. I cannot day enough positive things about the practice!

L B: Dr. Lamothe is absolutely fantastic! It is my third time seeing him and each time he makes sure that you feel comfortable with your prescription and takes the time to answer any questions.

Amanda Parker (ArtistAParker): Dr. Lamoth always gets my prescription right and has kept me seeing well in both my glasses and contacts for over five years. His office is always clean and staff is always courteous. Washington Eye Associates has a nice range of frames to choose from and the staff helped me pick the best one for my face. I recommend him so so much!

Dean Remedios: I went here after moving to the area and needing a new eye doctor. I found this place because it had some great reviews and decided to give it a try. This is by far the best experience I have had at an eye doctor before. Nick at the front desk was so friendly in checking me in, took a lot of time to help me pick out glasses frames, and took the time to explain to me line by line what my insurance covered and how to best utilize my benefits. Dr. Raja was so friendly and professional during my eye exam, she took the time to answer all of my questions and really took the time to give me a throughout exam that was also very time efficient. Overall this was a very pleasant experience and I will certainly be coming back here as long as I live in the area.

Mehdi Bb: Dr Lamothe takes great care of his patients . He listens well and is very good at spotting issues related to contact lens wear or any other potential health issues. he is always available to answers any concerns and goes well beyond the call of duty in ensuring my vision and eye comfort are optimal. Furthe,r ordering contact lenses is always a quick and easy process and the follow up is consistently excellent.

Joseph Mathias: Washington Eye Associates is a great provider of optometry services! The staff are very friendly and competent. Dr. Lamothe is friendly, smart, professional, and efficient! An AMAZING doctor. I've been a patient of his for three years now, and I have nothing but positive things to say about him and his practice. Definitely book an appointment. Great job, guys!

Angelina: Dr. Lamothe and team continue to be one of my favorite medical professionals. His professionalism, bedside manner, and technical skill is unmatched. The office is always quiet, clean, and welcoming. If you’re in the DC area and looking for a great optometrist, check them out!

Vanessa Bateman: Worst experience ever at an eye practice. Transferred 14 times in a circle just trying to get an appointment. Finally asked for my name and number so they could call me back only to be told they couldn’t schedule an appointment because I was not an existing patient. Despite advertising urgent care appointments, don’t try to get one as a new patient - even if you see other GW doctors and your GW doctor refers you. They’re not interested. If you need urgent care for your eye, find someone else because these folks won’t help you and they’ll take a long time before telling you they won’t help.

Eye Associates of Washington D.C: what do users think?

Kenneth A.: I called here this past week to schedule an appointment with Dr. Rose. And found out she no longer works here. I asked the rep on the phone where Dr. Rose went and she said we don’t know and tried to convince me to see one of their newbies. I said well does one of the current doctors know. I don’t like starting all over with someone I am not familiar with. She put me on hold for like 15 minutes and said NO. At least they could have informed the patients where the doctor is going so we are not calling and guessing. Completely unprofessional.

Robert Patch: As I child, my first eye doctor was Dr. Frank P. Costenbader, the father of pediatric ophthalmology. Next, to his colleague Dr. John F. O'Neill. When I aged out of pediatric ophthalmology my parents were referred to Dr. Blackwell S. Bruner who I stayed happily with until Dr. Melanie J. Buttross at Eye Associates of Washington took over his practice. I continue to depend on Dr. Buttross for my eye care and consider that I am in good hands in a tradition that has continued for most of my life.

JLP Contractors: The wait time is tooo long. Dr. Buttross is wonderful but I wish they were faster. My time is precious and very valuable and I don’t think spending 2-3 hours here is justified for a office visit.

OScar L.: Paulena in billing department is a thief. My insurance told me not to pay any balance I owe because they submitted the claim wrong and their front desk didn’t inform me that my insurance was not acceptable. DONT GOOOOO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Victoria Rollins: I was referred here to see Dr buttress and was told that the next available appointment is in May. I am disappointed. Will be going somewhere else.

S. W. S.: Dr. Strother Ashburn was very helpful and response to my eye concerns!

Brandon Moore: Dr. Rose no longer works here.

Barbara Hemmis: OUTSTANDING!

Butrus Salim I MD: what do users think?

Gardenia York: Initially, my mother was referred to Dr. Butrus by her personal Ophthalmologist for minor eye surgery. Upon meeting Dr. Butrus, I was very pleased with his knowledge, care and concern for my mother. The appointment date for the surgery was promptly scheduled, and, Dr. Butrus was prompt and ready for the surgery two days later. He is a skilled Ophthalmologist and did his best to put my mother and me at ease. Thus far, the surgery went well upon her follow up exam and his same care and concern was there and greatly appreciated by both of us.

Shawnna Bella: I’ve been coming here since 2015 and since day one it has always been a pleasureable experience. There have been times where I’ve needed emergency appointments and they’re always very accommodating. Dr. Butrus is a pretty knowledgeable Ophthalmologist—which is comforting. He puts the overall health of the eye in the forefront. Overall, I highly recommend anyone to consider scheduling with Dr. Butrus and his friendly staff.

Diane Collins: If I could give 5000 stars, I would!!! I have been seeing Dr. Butrus for over an decade. In a world that has become so fast paced Dr. Butrus takes time to ask questions and also listens to me patiently. Dr. Butrus responds to my health concerns in a caring manner . He also runs tests as appropriate. I am receiving good comprehensive care from Dr. Butrus and his staff are like family.

Nikki Price: I have been a patient of Dr. Butrus for over 15 years. Dr. Butrus performed my LASIK Eye Surgery in 2008. Dr. Butrus is very pleasant and kind.

L. Contreras: I have been seeing Dr. Butrus for over 10 yrs. I feel in great hands with him, he is very personable and cares about his clients. Very knowledgeable at what he does.... I would have it any other way for my eyes. Great friendly staff as well .

Monique Johnson: Dr. Butrus has a busy office, but Dr. Butrus is very thorough and extremely pleasant. He performs a multitude of testing on your eyes and that's what I really like about him.

Denise Jones: I have been a patient at The Eye Center on Capitol Hill for over 15 years and I must say that I like everything about my experience there. Dr. Butrus is very patient, thorough and he is genuinely concerned about the care of your eyes. His attention to detail is second to none. The staff is terrific, very efficient and knowledgeable, not to forget professional. The office is clean, and the service is top notch. I have a condition of the left cornea that makes it extremely difficult to easily prescribe glasses and/or contacts and was told that I would never have corrective vision in my left eye. I was referred to Dr. Butrus after years of running between Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. During my first examination with Dr. Butrus, I received a miracle; he knew exactly what my eye condition was; he diagnosed my problem and explained how he would go about treating it. Apparently for years, I was going to all the wrong eye doctors but I will forever be grateful to the doctor that referred me to Dr. Butrus. I am pleased to say that I have had corrective vision in my left eye for 15 years now. Taking care of eyes is one thing; Dr. Butrus takes care of your vision needs beyond your eyes. So why not put the trust of your eye health care in the hands of the BEST. If you are looking for an Ophthalmologist in the metropolitan area, I highly recommend Dr. Butrus (The Eye Center on Capitol Hill) for the care of your eyes. The Eye Center on Capitol Hill is everything an optometrist/ophthalmologist’s office should be! And, it’s the only place I trust my vision to.

Bob Stone: Dr Butrus is a top notch doctor who cares about his patients and actually gets to know them. He has always taken interest in my wellbeing and has cared for my vision for many years ultimately giving me the miraculous gift of restored vision. Butrus has very high credentials. You can't go wrong with this practice.

Orlando Lindsay: Excellent doctor with a great and caring staff. I have been a patient of Dr. Butrus for well over 20 years and have never had a complaint about his or his staff professionalism or service. I have been to other ophthalmologists and optometrists and Dr. Butrus and his staff's services excelled the others. Keep up the great work.

Apostle Janice L Swiney, Th.D.: My first Visit with Dr Brutus was phenomenal. The staff was very professional. Michelle was very thorough with explaining every eye procedure. Dr Brutus was very thorough with explaining everything after Michelle and this young man did the exams. The wait time was also phenomenal. I would recommend highly recommend Dr. Brutus to anyone. 10 stars

The Retina Group of Washington: what do users think?

L Rosan: Dr. Gordon Byrnes was very kind, pleasant and easy to talk to. He also answered my questions in an uncomplicated manner. But very Expensive and offer no discounts for cash pay patients. Just a heads up, it was way easier to make an appointment online via their website.

Josh Freeman: The doctor was great but the check in women in the front was not very kind. We didn't have a mask because we were running late and as soon as we walked in she said "I take it you don't have masks" in a rude tone. My grandmother is in here 80s. Just got eye surgery. She doesn't need to be bullied because of a mistake. All I'm asking is that the front gets a little better training on how to treat other humans with feelings.
Response: Josh, we appreciate your feedback and will be sure to share your feedback with our team members. Patient care and satisfaction are our number one priority. If you wish to speak to someone directly, please feel free to reach out to Myradis Marin at (703) 313-8822.

David A. Castelveter: Dr. Byrnes was kind, gentle and professional. Staff also was helpful and professional but the wait to see the doctor was too long. It seems as if they overbook their doctors. Be prepared to sit in two different waiting rooms as you move through their system.
Response: David, thank you for your review. Our physicians and staff appreciate you putting your trust in them.

martha evans: Have had good experiences here in the past, but the new office is not well organized. I had to wait TWO HOURS before even seeing a doctor. No good communication about delay. If I hadn't had my eyes dilated, I would have been out of there! My appointment was at 10:30 and I finally saw the doctor at 12:45. No excuse for that. Love Dr Brynes. He is super, but the office needs to get its act together. My day was wrecked.
Response: Martha, we appreciate your feedback and will be sure to share your feedback with our team members. Patient care and satisfaction are our number one priority. If you wish to speak to someone directly, please feel free to reach out to Myradis Marin at (703) 313-8822.

James Lake: Great staff and Doctors. Dr. Levinson is the best.

Karen Duncan: The office staff were very accommodating. They were in a brand new space,, so things were a bit out of place. They worked well under pressure

maria navia: The staff are professionals and very helpful. The Doctor is very competent and extremely helpful.I do recommend The Retina Group of Washington to my relatives and friends

Carlo Uchello: I can’t say enough about the Retina Group of Washington. Everything about their medics practice is top-notch - the doctors and the entire staff are friendly, competent, and efficient. The quality of care is superb - wonderful at diagnosing problems, explaining them in layman’s terms, and then treating them quickly and seamlessly. Dr. Kasi is quite simply the best. He’s everything you want your doctor to be, and more.

Aida Munoz: The staff were very attentive. They answered my questions. They were professional and friendly. Dr Byrnes informed me my progress was going well. I was relieved to hear the good news. Dr Byrnes is a calm and thoughtful person. He takes the time to explain the steps he will be taking during his examination and answers any questions asked by the patient. I have been his patient for four years and all my visits have been pleasant.

kathleen mealy: I have been going to this excellent practice for years. My complaint is that the wait time is ridiculous. I’ve had to wait up to a half hour to begin my appointment and the same amount of time after preliminary tests to see the doctor. They need better time management.
