Janice Alder: Just had the best eye exam of my life! Ejiatu was the tech/physician’s assistant who did the tests and prep. She was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and professional. I felt well taken care of. Dr Khan was also excellent! She understood my myriad issues and has a game plan for me that encompasses my overall health. Highly recommend!
Jennifer Pack: Eye Doctors of Washington have been excellent in caring for and treating an eye condition I have. I feel able to ask them anything, and they give great explanations that teach and explain. Dr. Luckie in DC fits my Scleral contact lenses amazingly! She and her staff are so friendly and caring.
Miki'ala Miller: Staff at EDoW were great - communicative and caring. I was very impressed with them. My only issue with the place was the awkwardness of the waiting area. No tables on which to put place a purse, book, umbrella, or phone or coffee cup. I had to put all my stuff on the floor or try to hang my purse off the arm rest. Chairs were not spaced far enough apart for Covid concerns. And the chairs were really dirty. They need to make efforts to re-arrange the waiting area into a more workable, accessible set up.
David Fago: Dr. Fisher was very personable and helpful. She explained her findings thoroughly and noted that what I thought might be a problem (cataracts) isn’t yet, but that another concern (optic nerve health) will require further evaluation and follow-up. I’m very pleased with her care and attention.

Flo Lee: I was extremely afraid of getting LASIK because I had an extremely high prescription. But after a few of my friends had good experiences even with PRK, I decided to search around for a consultation. I am so glad I found EDOW and cannot say enough good things. Maggie was my coordinator, and she was amazing. She was constantly available to answer my many questions leading up to the procedure and was extremely communicative about what to expect. I had some trouble getting the eye drops I needed due to some health insurance coverage issues, but Maggie was really quick to help me troubleshoot and find a good price. I am so grateful. The procedure itself went smoothly as was my recovery. Dr. Clinch was efficient and his manner put me at ease before, during, and after the surgery. If you are looking to do LASIK, I highly recommend at least checking out EDOW to see if they are a good fit for you!
charles osborne: Dr. Schor and Team are wonderful. Went thru numerous eye tested and was explained each process and what to expect. Dr. Schor was super professional and thorough. He explained everything to me and several options. The office was clean and orderly and had plenty of covid protocols and protections in place.

Kecia Reynolds: Dr. Luckie is great! I highly recommend her. The assistant was also good. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because neither the receptionist nor the glasses person in the lobby said hello when I walked in and either was helping anyone.

Mark Jacobson: Dr. Howard Jacobson has been my ophthalmologist for at least 20 years. He is extraordinarily thorough, professional and conservative in his examinations, treatments, and recommendations. I have never hesitated to accept and follow his advice. Definitely a "top doc" in his field.

Casey P1400: Cataract surgery with Dr. Pluznik was seamless. Doctor is great, very caring, very patient, excellent doctor in every way. Staff was great, techs always proficient and courteous. Very comprehensive pre-op visits and follow-ups. If you need cataract surgery, you want a surgeon who has done thousands of these procedures. This is the place to go.

Stephen Taylor: Dr. Vicente is a wonderful and truly gifted doctor! I really appreciate Dr. Vicente’s “bedside manner” and all the time he took to provide a thorough explanation of all the details of my procedure. as well as the recovery period. He really put me at ease. Similarly, my post-op care has been exceptional. In addition to Dr. Vicente, I want to thank his superb team at Eye Doctors of Washington for their great service to me. I am enjoying my new sights!!!
Jan LaRocque Kappas: Fantastic practice. Dr. Vicente is a fabulous pediatric ophthalmologist. He has been great with both my children. It takes awhile to get an appointment (~3 months out in my experience), but worth it. The assistants and facilities are great as well. Easy to get to with plenty of street and public parking available if the spots provided by the office are taken.
Desireè: The office is clean, tidy and the lighting is pleasant. The front desk staff are warm and friendly. Nelson is Dr.Wong’s assistant, he’s professional and has a cheerful disposition. Dr.Wong takes the time to explain things thoroughly and discuss treatment options appropriately. She’s both highly intelligent and kind which sadly is a rare combination in the medical field. If I had to mention one gripe it would be the kiosk. You have to sign in on the kiosk before a team member can assist you. It’s not my favorite but considering everything else about this office is pretty great it’s not a deal breaker.
Emily Menard: I really enjoy the experience received with Eye Doctors of Washington in Chevy Chase. Dr. Wong has seen my child twice and each time they have a nice conversation while completing the eye exam. They do several tests/screening in new patients and a follow up. They bill insurance as medical verse optical (not billed as a routine exam). Might cause some insurance issues for some people. Parking is tight in their parking garage, so I prefer to park across the street (use quarters in the meter). The building directions are great, but the suite is a little hard to find the first time. Located in a One way road. Allow time for parking.
M A: Dr Vike Vincente is one of the best physicians I’ve dealt with hands down. He is so personable and friendly while being thorough and accurate. We came early and we’re seen early. Cindy was amazing too. The whole staff were polite and efficient. I can’t thank the whole team enough for making our experience easy and informative. If you need an eye doctor for your child this is the doctor to see!

Jocilyn Budda: Dr Lee and Dr Clinch have been wonderful through every step of my lasik experience. They answer all of my questions and they urge me to reach out if I have any concerns. Their demeanor is calming and put me at ease through the entire process. Would recommend them to anyone considering lasik.
Paula Bobys: My visit today was to measure my eyes for cataract surgery in 2 weeks. The technician, EJ, was very reassuring and patient. Dr. Shah then examined my eyes and discussed which procedure and type of lens she thought would be best for me. She answered all of my questions and together we decided on laser surgery with a toric lens implanted. Dr. Shah is very professional, thorough and thoughtful. .

I didn’t realize at first that I had been scheduled with an optometrist not ophthalmologist for a dual vision/medical appointment, but it all worked out in the end. Anne Henderson: I have had two procedures by the great doctors at Washington Eye. My cataracts were removed and my eyelids lifted to restore my peripheral vision. Both procedures went well, with no complications and quick healing. Dr. Marwa Adi and Dr. Mehta were both superb. I recommend them highly and without reservation.

David L. Craig: After cataract surgery in my left eye by another practice, they referred me to Dr. Adi following a Fuchs Dystrophy diagnosis. Thus far as a patient of Dr. Adi I have experienced a corneal transplant in my left eye four months ago, then cataract surgery in the right eye a week ago, plus in-office laser and eye rebubbling procedures, as well as a second rebubbling procedure at the surgery center. To date I am exceptionally pleased with the competence and demeanor of everyone involved and highly recommend this practice.
Richard Schiripa: I had an eye exam for cataracts. The doctor and all the technicians were excellent. Everyone was very professional and courteous. Everything was explained in detail and they answered all my questions. I plan to go back to have my cataract surgery.
Robert Hornak: I’m a patient at Washington Eye and I see two Dr’s here. Dr Schwartz for glaucoma and Dr Mehta for plastic surgery (eyes). I could not ask for better doctors. James Sumner: I have had a great experience with Dr. Bilal Khan. I was in need of a retinal specialist a few years back when I first met Dr. Khan. I found him to be very knowledgeable, kind, caring, and compassionate. Back at that time, he was heaven sent to me! I always say that "He Is One Of The Best In The City." I continue to see him today. princess abudabah: The office staff are friendly and typically greet you by name as you enter the door. I miss Dr. Spellman’s personal touch though. Even though he was always busy he took time to speak with you and remember things about you. Since he is retired I now see Dr. Venkat. I have no complaints about the excellent service she provided. I do wish she were more personable. After waiting for over 45 mins for the office visit, her actual examination felt rushed and perfunctory.
roderick johnson: The assistants were helpful and courteous. The time at the clinic has improved from 3 hours down to an hour and a half. Superior service would be in and out in one hour.

That aside I felt the staff was professional, courteous, and had a good bed side manner as they explained everything they were doing and answered all my questions. The doctor (can’t recall her name at the moment) was also good and gave me confidence that she knew what she was doing, which is what you want when someone is messing around with your eyes!

J Fehrenbach: I have had great experiences with Dr. Luthra. He is thorough, approachable, professional, and explains things cogently. I am especially satisfied with his cataract surgery on both of my eyes. The surgical procedures and the results have been excellent. Based on the information he provided, I decided to go with the multi-focal lenses, which was a wise decision.
Susan Rodgers: Dr. Luthra performed my cataract surgeries last August and October. I had the basic lenses covered by Medicare, and was so excited about my 20/10 vision after healing. I have the upmost faith in Dr. Luthra, and especially enjoy his quirky sense of humor. The surgery clinic he uses is top notch.
Fallon O'Brien: I made an emergency last-minute appointment at Columbia Eye Associates last year, for (what I would find out to be) a corneal ulcer. While I was very nervous and uneducated on the issue, Dr. Luthra took quick action on an aggressive treatment plan and made me feel at ease. He provides excellent care and takes his patients’ health very seriously. He does not sugar coat things and provides his patients’ with thorough information. He saw me every single day for a week, and multiple times per week for months after that, and gave me his cell phone in case of emergency. Fast forward 13 months and I have 20/20 vision and no ulcer, thanks to Dr. Luthra. He performed epi-LASIK surgery on me in March and I could not be happier. If you are in the Washington, D.C. area and need an ophthalmologist, Columbia Eye Associates is where you need to go.

Amanda Blake: The absolute best choice for dry eye! I had been suffering for years, and now my eyes are drastically better after only three months of proper treatment. Dr. Abraham is excellent. He explains things very clearly and listens to concerns with compassion. I really appreciate his help and cannot recommend Washington Eye Doctors highly enough, especially for dry eye patients.
Karen Moe: Dr Rosenblatt has been my eye doctor for many years and worked with me to get my proper correction for nearsightedness. My extra-sensitive system was previously over-corrected and his prescriptions enabled my vision to be more relaxed and stabilize. The glasses are high quality and good fit. I’m especially fond of the nearly weightless frames and lenses.
Jacques Moore: I’ve been a customer and patient at Washington Eye Doctors for about a year and a half. Overall it’s been great. The front desk staff are pleasant. Dr. Rosen later is knowledgeable, kind and takes time to answer questions and explain things in layman’s terms. I think perhaps one of their frame and lens specialists might need more training on listening to the customer and clearly understanding my needs before recommending something that doesn’t work (i.e. fit me properly). But the other two I’ve worked with have been excellent.

Randy Capps: I have been with Washington Eye Doctors for 50 years since the Katz/Kanstroom days. They guided me through bifocals as a kid, contacts as an adolescent and Lasik as an adult. 25 years after Lasik I still have near perfect vision. I just went back for night driving glasses. Always quick, efficient and thorough consistently over the decades.
Qundeel Khattak: Dr. Friedman is the best! I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now. The staff are friendly and attentive. Sean was very patient in helping me find the perfect pair of glasses! I have a rather strong prescription and Dr. Friedman has worked with me to try various contacts lenses - from custom soft to hybrid. Highly recommend!!

Fleur Gedamke: I am continually impressed with all the staff at the WEI. I am always treated with respect and am given the most thorough tests, advice and overall care. The young staff that do the tests are stellar and polite and my Doctor is so informative. I had lens replacement surgery and am always going back for check-ups - and I am always pleased with their service. They are patient and really listen to your concerns. It is clean and efficient.

Nancy Beigel: Excellent medical visit. All staff members were welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. The vision testing was done with the latest technology so it was less invasive than the older methods. The test for glasses prescription was done by the doctor, not a tech. It yielded a much stronger correction than other tests have done. I look forward to getting my new glasses so I can stop squinting to try and see in the distance.

Noreen Warren: I selected this practice after researching ophthalmologists on the internet. I had recently moved to Maryland and finding good quality medical care was both a priority and a concern. Dr. Chu has exceeded my expectations. This practice is well run and Dr. Chu is a skilled and compassionate physician. I found the office to be conveniently located and well run with plenty of parking and virtually no wait time upon arrival for appointments. I had cataracts and at the same time I found I was unable to continue detailed needlework, Dr. Chu began to discuss them with me at my regular checkup. He patiently explained and described my problem and options for treatment. I decided to proceed with surgical removal of the cataracts. Dr. Chu discussed the surgery with me until I felt very comfortable with the entire process. He provided pamphlets and carefully designed documents as well as plenty of opportunity to ask questions and air my concerns. I could not have been better prepared. The surgery went without a hitch. My vision is very clear, much better than I expected. I am thrilled with the experience and the results. I highly recommend this practice for your eye care.
Rock Marquis: Before I set out for my cataract surgery of both eyes, I did my due diligence regarding the maturity of the technology, choice of lens, but most importantly, choice of eye surgeon. After all, it is my eyesight that I will live for the rest of my life. During the process, I came across two of my friends who had recently gone through cataract surgery, and both of them where patients of Dr. Chu, and both of them highly recommend Dr. Chu as they had nothing but total success. I took their recommendation and as the saying goes, the rest is history. I am so happy with Dr. Chu, from the initial consultation that was transparent, to the processes that was so smooth, but most importantly, the end results that are just flawless with zero complication. I would highly recommend Dr. Chu and the staff of the Washington Eye Consultants!

This is by far the best experience I have had at an eye doctor before. Nick at the front desk was so friendly in checking me in, took a lot of time to help me pick out glasses frames, and took the time to explain to me line by line what my insurance covered and how to best utilize my benefits. Dr. Raja was so friendly and professional during my eye exam, she took the time to answer all of my questions and really took the time to give me a throughout exam that was also very time efficient. Overall this was a very pleasant experience and I will certainly be coming back here as long as I live in the area.

Gardenia York: Initially, my mother was referred to Dr. Butrus by her personal Ophthalmologist for minor eye surgery. Upon meeting Dr. Butrus, I was very pleased with his knowledge, care and concern for my mother. The appointment date for the surgery was promptly scheduled, and, Dr. Butrus was prompt and ready for the surgery two days later. He is a skilled Ophthalmologist and did his best to put my mother and me at ease. Thus far, the surgery went well upon her follow up exam and his same care and concern was there and greatly appreciated by both of us.

There have been times where I’ve needed emergency appointments and they’re always very accommodating. Dr. Butrus is a pretty knowledgeable Ophthalmologist—which is comforting. I have a condition of the left cornea that makes it extremely difficult to easily prescribe glasses and/or contacts and was told that I would never have corrective vision in my left eye. During my first examination with Dr. Butrus, I received a miracle; he knew exactly what my eye condition was; he diagnosed my problem and explained how he would go about treating it. Apparently for years, I was going to all the wrong eye doctors but I will forever be grateful to the doctor that referred me to Dr. Butrus. I am pleased to say that I have had corrective vision in my left eye for 15 years now. Taking care of eyes is one thing; Dr. Butrus takes care of your vision needs beyond your eyes. So why not put the trust of your eye health care in the hands of the BEST. If you are looking for an Ophthalmologist in the metropolitan area, I highly recommend Dr. Butrus (The Eye Center on Capitol Hill) for the care of your eyes. The Eye Center on Capitol Hill is everything an optometrist/ophthalmologist’s office should be! And, it’s the only place I trust my vision to.

L Rosan: Dr. Gordon Byrnes was very kind, pleasant and easy to talk to. He also answered my questions in an uncomplicated manner. But very Expensive and offer no discounts for cash pay patients. Just a heads up, it was way easier to make an appointment online via their website.
David A. Castelveter: Dr. Byrnes was kind, gentle and professional. Staff also was helpful and professional but the wait to see the doctor was too long. It seems as if they overbook their doctors. Be prepared to sit in two different waiting rooms as you move through their system.

Dr Byrnes is a calm and thoughtful person. He takes the time to explain the steps he will be taking during his examination and answers any questions asked by the patient. I have been his patient for four years and all my visits have been pleasant.
kathleen mealy: I have been going to this excellent practice for years. My complaint is that the wait time is ridiculous. I’ve had to wait up to a half hour to begin my appointment and the same amount of time after preliminary tests to see the doctor. They need better time management.
