United States Capitol: what do users think?

Zay McCullough, MSW, LCSW-A: This was the last major attraction I saw during my one week trip here from 12/28/21 to 1/4/2022. You can see the Capital Building from several blocks away. I actually remembered I needed to stop by because I saw it after exiting the Children’s Museum. It was a little after 5pm when we made it there. We say the reflecting pool, which is wider but shorter than the reflecting pool between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. Unlike the latter, the Capitol’s reflecting pool isn’t easily accessible to stuck your feet it. The view, however, was still nice. This was my first time being in DC since I was in elementary school. It was extremely awesome to see the Capitol building. It was ironic that I had just watched Olympus Has Fallen on TV in my hotel just a day prior. Unfortunately, the perimeter of the building is gated off due to the events that transpired a year ago. I’m saddened to see that public access still isn’t available. Of course COVID is an added barrier to tours. Going inside is something that I wanted to do. I did not go to the visitors center that is close by as my son was ready to go back to the hotel, lol. There was a large Christmas tree in the lawn area between the capital building and the reflecting pool. Many people were taking pictures and appeared to be having a good time. I was grateful for the experience because I talked to my son (8) about what goes on in the building, the legislative bodies, and etc. I’m sure he’s forgotten everything we talked about but he can say he seen it in person whenever he does learn about it in school.

Ganindu Madhawa: A place where one can probe into the political history of USA.It is an iconic place and you need to reserve tickets beforehand visiting the place. You will be provided with a guide who give descriptive analysis of the architecture of the place and historical events. 😊

Yusra Nabeel: Such a great experience visiting one of the US symbols. Great place with beautiful reflection in pool.

Ali Shajarizadeh: This beautiful building is a must-see for everyone who visit Washington DC. The building has a long history. The place is where many important decisions were and are made that affects the world.

Stephen Butler: My first time taking the tour. Our Representative arranged a VIP tour. It was very small and personal. There’s no cost, but if your going to take a tour book it in advance. It takes about 3 hours or so. It was worth the time. Please hit “Like” if this was helpful. Thanks.

Ben Henderson: Really enjoyed the tour inside the Capitol building. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. Really interesting history and beautiful inside. Liked the fact you can then walk through a tunnel to cross over to the library of Congress which again was beautiful.

Isabelle Tran: Beautiful architecture from the outside. Recommended to book in advance for a tour. The park outside is a beautiful place to relax after a long day of touring, including some cherry blossom trees.

Grammy Henderson: I am not sure where to go or who to ask I am trying to get a birth certificate I was born in Ho chI min city Vietnam and nobody can seem to help me does anybody on here have any clue up to where or how I can get a birth certificate from Vietnam

Eugenio Quantro-Plaga: When are they planning to reopen or at least have more people working? I completely support being Covid safe, but they have been closed for over a year and this is an essential service for most visa applications to be processed. In the case of Spain the background check with apostille has to be three months old or less in order to be valid. If it takes this office 3 months to issue the apostille that means it will automatically be invalid by the time the person recieves it. To make matters worse this is the only place you can get your FBI background check apostilled.

Mihow McKenny: In early April, I sent a document in order to receive an apostille for it. The office confirmed receipt quickly. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone gave me a clear estimate of the total processing time, which is 2-3 months.

Dan Hickman: These reviews are unjust. I operate an apostille service and request FBI Background Check Apostille services almost every day; therefore, I call the authentication office often and the employees are always very nice, helpful and friendly. The long delays in 2020 are obviously not their fault and they have no ability to add more staff, increase hours, etc. This group is working long hours to get things done, and I am appreciative of their hard work!

Aashna Virmani: The worst experience ever with the Office of Auth. They are not professional at all and representatives hang up on you that’s if you can ever get to them. They have wasted my time and I hope I never have to deal with them ever again in my life. Unfriendly and rude staff who don’t care about you or the situation that you may be in because of delays from their end. With so many bad reviews I’m shocked nothing is being done about this. There should be an option to give 0 star in google reviews.

United States Postal Service: what do users think?

Victoria Bunk: Would not recommend going here. I had a non machinable letter, they tried to charge me again even though the stamp I already paid for said “non machinable”. Would not trust letters dropped off here.

Kathryn Gilliland: ZERO. This used to be my favorite post office but I just received the RUDEST treatment I’ve ever gotten at any post office ever in my life. I’m trying to mail 30 holiday cards in a standard envelope size that are a tad poofy. At first they were rejected because of their width and the woman stated that they were packages and would cost 5 dollars to ship A PIECE. I indicated that it was cardboard and I could flatten it if the air to fit the standard letter width (a device that measures the width that if you can fit it through, it’s a letter.) Once I flattened it and fit it through the slot easily, she still refused to accept them and would not explain to me why. I was patiently and politely asking her, if it fits through the slot, and it’s light, what makes it a package? She would not answer. She offered no other options or help. She was hostile from beginning to end. I understand how difficult people can be as I’m a waitress, but I wasn’t being rude and needed help. Then she said, “I said what I said,” and stormed off to the back like a child. The supervisor was not there for me to speak to at 3:30. No one helped me after she disappeared. There was a long line behind me and the only other person working there was completely busy. What a disappointment. I’ll be going to another post office forever. UPDATE: I put all my cards in a mailbox and they were all delivered. Clearly my cards were standard size.

Diana Chaves: Best customer service! They are very kind and knowledgeable, they won’t rush you and will help you in every step of the way for whatever you need to do

Phillip P.: Unkempt and understaff. Very long lines taking an average of 5 minutes per customer.

Vishal Sinha: I know USPS and the like "government services" are often associated with bad customer service, long wait times, and overall sub par shopping experience. But not all locations nor all employees would fall in that category. I have been to this location of USPS a few times now and on all these occasions my experience has been very middle of the road. I wont say the service was top notch with a feeling of being taken care of; nor was it bad where I came away with negative feelings regarding that location.Maybe, that is a "win" for USPS :) I had stopped by to mail a letter bound for an international destination. The person helping me advised on all the various charges depending on the delivery time frame - from overnight to 10+ business days. She also gave me all the paperwork that I had to fill out in order for me to mail the letter over. She even let me cut back in line once I was ready. Overall, a decent experience at this USPS!

tia hinds: I have had my fair share of experiences with the post office but every time I come into this location they are always friendly and helpful. Today Myra went above and beyond to help me locate a package that I needed to stop transit on. I cannot remember the other nice lady who has worked there for years name but she was also so kind and helpful. I really appreciate the staff here.

Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO): what do users think?

Wajahat S: I had a simple question about visiting Taiwan but Employee seemed to brush me aside with fewest words. I would not describe the conversation diplomatic, or even friendly. One would imagine the Staff appointed to an important country would be competent and trained to answer in a polite and professional manager, more importantly to the satisfaction of the caller. Very disappointing to say the least, I would describe it as undeserving arrogance, based on ignorance of some sort.

Christian Jarvis: Incredibly kind and helpful staff. When I contacted TECRO, I was asking for a Taiwanese flag for my collection. I quickly received a reply and it was very helpful and professional. Unfortunately, the first time the flag never showed up so it was most likely the Post Office at fault. About a month later I contacted them again and I almost immediately got a response and they offered to send me a new flag and that they were sorry the original one never showed up. 11/10 service, I love Taiwan!

FM Chen: it will be merged with Chinese embassy in the near future. :) so good!

Hsiao-Ying Lin: Warm reception and wonderful services. It’s a place which reminds me of my motherland Taiwan.

CJZ: Friendly and professional officers.

Chinling Hsu: Lady Wenda in passport department was really nice and helpful. All my issues about renewing passport were all resolved, it really make my day!

sammi hong: Lady on the phone was idiotic . I second that . I called this morning asked about how to apply passport. First she told me to call back thirty minutes. I called back she told me to call back 40 minute . Because she is extremely busy. Third times I called she told me call back after 4pm. This is terrible and not acceptable. It’s shame that Taiwan government employees is so unprofessional .

Antonio Liao: They get the job done, just expect the kind of service from any government employee.....

I did a search on it and actually found the document, I clicked on on of the documents to see if that is what I am looking for, it was not what I was looking for. I tried to go back and click on another document, it kicked me out. I logged in again and did the same search again, and it was giving me documents that has no relation to my search. Theekshana Fernando: Did not get fair and courteous customer service as a person of colour. The white people that came in after me were spoken to and treated so much better than I was.

Robert: Visited in 2008 and purchased a fantastic 2008 Bald Eagle Clad Half Dollar Coin

christopher geoghegan: I have purchased many coins from the DC Mint store over the years, even when the satellite store was in Union Station. The staff are generally friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the products. There is no sales tax on the item, so it always seems like a discount to the price.

carlos fuller: This is a great location to pick up mint coin sets. There never a line and No museum to walk though. Just walk in turn to the right and there is the counter. The service os first class I had time to examine a few different sets before choosing a few.

Ethan Stein: Decent store selling coins and bills from the mint. The selection was decent but it was very over priced for everything and certain things have a premium, don’t waste your time here.

Federal Bureau of Investigation Headquarters: what do users think?

M Williams: The heartbeat of the FBI!!

Mohegan Weber: Did not help me at all. Called numerous times about potential crimes happening or current crimes that were occurring and the FBI was not interested in reporting or dealing with them. Over the course of the past year I have called them 15 times about and 10 of those times they hung up on me before I could even tell them what was happening. Even when I had evidence of actual crimes that were occurring they refused to help or assist me even when I told them the local police were not helping me at all. I am not sure what business allows their representatives to repeatedly hang up on callers, but it’s happened to me a lot calling into the FBI from numerous locations. The part that bothered me the most was that they did not even record the crimes, so if anything happened with the situations there would be no recorded evidence on record for other legal authorities to refer to.

Andrea Lawrence: The FBI Experience Center is a great tour that explains the different jobs within the FBI and what they are responsible for. It also covers some of the top FBI cases and has evidence from the cases on display such as letters from the Unabomber and the boat from the Boston bombing. Definitely worth a trip if you have the opportunity to go!

Lu A: Can you focus on Ethiopia house issues because I just got insulted by that rent our house and the government made law about housing and she still living inside my house very cheap price damaging property and still she think she own the house not rent she even said not business on my house, get her out from my house, she insulted and disrespect me, she still living our house cheap price and damaging the property

Anthony Scott: The FBI experience was really a great thing to see. They have many unique stories and artifacts from many of our countries most trying times, e.g. 911, the Boston bombing and even the Oklahoma City bombing. They even had the boat they found one of the brothers from the Boston bombing with all of the bullet holes.

Rick Adragna: Definitely set aside a couple of hours for your. Great hands on for kids too.

Isanka Wijerathne: If you are around in DC and interesting about FBI, here is the place. But, I think now allowed to go inside as tourist.

Phil Subscription: They do this cool thing where if you mail in an on-time payment but the post office loses your mail, you have to pay a penalty and interest. If you try to appeal the fees, you get denied. Really cool, really great. An awesome overall experience.

Mike Koritko: 5 stars for Sean Workman at OTR. Super knowledgeable and helpful. Solved a business tax issue I had been unable to solve on the phone or online. There was little wait and he solved the problem quickly and told me how to follow up if there was further action needed from my end. I was in and out in probably 40 minutes. Now if I were rating OTR phone service (spent an hour and 37 minutes on hold yesterday before giving up) or email service… it would certainly not be 5 stars.

Samuel Peterson: When calling on behalf of clients, I regularly hold for two hours before being disconnected. We just want to pay you your money. Why not make it easier?

killgates covidlie: Can I give zero star?? DC O.T. R is the most incompetent organization I have ever death with. After 11 years, with a grim, cheer and joy to announce that I will moving away from this City and never have to deal with them ever again. I now know to why this country is failing tragically, I saw it first hand dealing with OTR.

Christain Gray: I been on Hold for 2hrs now they said my calm time was 56 mins how did I get to 2:10:30sec this crazy

loraine Wooden: I am having the same issue like many of those who have posted comments. In March, I filed my taxes with TurboTax. Received my Federal refund in less than a week. Went to the DC Tax website in April to inquire about my refund and the automated system said that it was processed and issued in April. After several phone calls over a span of three weeks, I finally talked to a real person ( always on hold for more than an hour). This representative told me that they sent out a check. I told her that I never received the check and that it should have been direct deposit. She said that she would stop payment on the check and would mail me another one. This was more than three weeks ago! Here I am calling yet again being placed on hold forever! What a bunch of hockey pucks!

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission: what do users think?

Brian Pratt: Corrupt. The American people have lost faith in our markets and those who are supposed to help regulate. Gary Gensler is a Goldman phony. Works for the banks and Hedgefunds not Main St. Spineless, pathetic organization that is responsible for allowing trillions of dollars to be stolen from the American Public though Dark Pool and Naked Shorting.

William Lolli: When an agency of government tasked by the People and the Rule of Law to protect the investing Public violates the public trust by abandoning standards of clarity for policies of enforcement, secret meetings, and nod-winking innuendos which deliberately result in markets and technologies being manipulated to the personal benefit of current and former agency leadership, the agency has lost all public trust and itself should be in danger of collapse by the weight of its own corruption. -- Such is the case of the SEC. A failed agency, failing in its mission, boasting of its moral superiority, aiding in the establishment of market monopolies and crushing innovation.

W R: This place is rather corrupt. They told me I need $25,000 to place multiple trades in a day for my own "protection." Then also let brokers who were about to go bankrupt from a liquidity crisis to disable my ability to exchange on the stock market.

Luis G.: Is possible to give 0 stars? The American people need you and your organization is turning your back on us. When history looks back on the 2020’s they will remember how the SEC left it’s countries people stranded and suffering shortly after a pandemic wiped out many of their businesses and jobs.

Jeremy Kintz: Seems kinda worthless. Only protect Wall St while ignoring Main St. They say they work for our protection. If you can play the lottery, join the military for legal murder, and buy as much alcohol as you want, then you should be able to trade your money as you see fit.

Michael Andrews: SEC should be embarrassed for not taking action to make markets fair, casinos are better regulated than wallstreet. We need same day settlements, end all dark pools they are being abused and not used for their intended purposes. How do you let a broker stop buying but not selling. Please SEC get it together.

CH K: Staff attorneys are also great law school professors!

Sonny Bara: Failed to protect the retail investor. That’s literally their #1 job!!! They help hedge funds rob money from the people they are supposed to protect.

Ad1eUK: Corruption runs rife, they offer no protection to the retail public. Gary Gensler has let everyone down and will remembered for such!

Bureau of Engraving and Printing: what do users think?

Kailash Mota: A must visit place, if you happen to tour / visit Washington DC. The admission is absolutely free, though you have to take a free ticket. The tour of this place takes about 30 minutes. Except in the reception / entrance area, photography is banned. The Souvenir stores has some memorable items that you can carry for your memories. Its a guided tour and guides explain the entire currency printing process in detail while you actually get to see the currencies being printed. All in all a must visit place while touring this region

Jack Chambless: Took my sons here years ago and it was an extremely educational and exciting experience. They were amazed by all they learned and we loved how well run and thoughful this place was.

Terry Trent: After the several visits to DC over the years, I never stopped to visit this spot until this visit. Very nice to visit. Could only see the outside.

Kristie Pecka: Fun tour to see the making of printed bills. Tour with a guide, no head sets as described in previous reviews. Short and sweet... 30 min. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Lei Wang: Free admission but you need to pick up tickets behind the building in 15th St. basically to book your free tour. The tour is very informative and useful.

Diego Villatoro: It was a good experience and it was very interesting

Gail Neeley: This was the most disappointing tour I had while in DC. You have to go through so much security because you observe money being printed, but in reality it would be like touring any other printing shop. The interaction between the tour guide and the tour is poor. You line up on a catwalk to see the process and the tour guide talks over a loud speaker. It would have been much more interesting if they would have spend some time on the engraving process, perhaps with invitations or stamps.

Wynde Sprinkle: No where on their web site does it say it is closed. Very disappointed! Please update your website.

America Artist of the Quantic Planetary Renaissance: Has been a... Sweet like candy experience and for such .... I need to get... Wiser ... Thanks for all

Amy Graff: Had a tour of the OET office. The artwork on the first floor by children was enlightening.
