Roof Terrace Restaurant: what do users think?

Jeff Luttrell: RTR is a pretty good place for dinner before a show at the Kennedy Center. The restaurant has the classic aesthetic of the Kennedy Center with beautiful views from the terrace outside the restaurant. The staff were friendly enough though our waiter didn't talk with us too much. Food service was quick which is to be expected for those going to performances. The quality of the food is okay. All of our entrees were hot but just okay taste wise. Pretty good selection for vegetarians and the fish choices are nice too! We'll come back and try it again as we go to the KC often.

Ron Milkowski: I have never been to the Kennedy Center and had no idea that there even was a restaurant. What a very nice dining experience. Santo our waiter was very knowledgeable with the food and drinks. It is a bit pricey but worth it. Even if you are not going to an event I highly recommend checking it out.

Anusha Chatterjee: Wonderful bar service! The food was so good. Had the tuna carpaccio and the salmon. Both were absolutely perfect! Lovely seasonal Cocktails. Perfect stop before or after the show. The bar has the full menu, so no reservations were needed. Lovely intimate vibe.

Craig Herrick: We’ve been here a number of times over the years though this was the first visit in two years. The Terrace has upped their game. My lamb chops and wife’s fillet would go over well in any finer local venue. The service was prompt and professional and based around our show time. Terrace maintains most of its vintage (60’s) vibe which is what I like about it.

Stu: Read some negative reviews before going to the Roof Terrace restaurant, and had some concerns. I will say that this was a lovely place and a rather elegant atmosphere. The food was fine- especially the seasoned fries. Delicious! We each had a fish dish, which at nearly forty dollars each I found to be drastically overpriced. Even at ten dollars less it would have been overpriced. Yet the meals were tasty, though not very filing. They came with the tiniest bit of vegetables. The service was excellent, and my concerns about inattentive service or being rushed were proven false. In all, it is a very nice place to go that is the ultimate in convenience if you are going to a Kennedy Center performance. But you pay for that convenience in very high restaurant prices. Would I return? Probably, but this is not a place I'd be able to afford very often.

Myrna Linzy: Very good. Waitress was very good in helping me with which meal. Picked my drinks. Awesome place.

Catina Carter: The food and service was outstanding. Wonderful place to have a beautiful experience of class. The views were wonderful as well.

Mary Robinson: Wonderful dinner before a show. Cant beat the views! Professional service throughout the meal.

Veronica Coleman: Wonderful evening at the Kennedy Center and dining at the Roof Terrace Restaurant. Great food. Great music.

Phil Cooke: Great setting at the Kennedy Center, ideal for pre show dinner. Service was excellent; overall, food was very good. Our party of four got fish, with the bass being the best, by far. Others, trout and salmon, were just okay. It is a little pricey, but the setting, service and convenience make it worth it.

The Rooftop at The Ven at Embassy Row: what do users think?

farida popal: I was there on Saturday the 25th. We wanted to go to the rooftop bar. As soon we were at main entrance, the door man greeted us and guide us. When we went to the bar the atmosphere was nice. The drinks were a bet pricey and bar food was great! I’ll defiantly go again.

chrisy edme: The stay was wonderful! The staff at the front desk are amazing ! Specially Lyle at the front desk, he was just a sweetheart to us. We booked our stay prior to them implementing the daily amenity fee. He waived it off of our stay and informed us that he will be more than happy to still provide the perks ! We received some sent sachet of jasmine and lavender which were amazing :) In addition to that he provided us with late check out because our flight was later in the afternoon. He also gave us some great tips of how to get around since it was our first time in DC. Also my room was provided with daily housekeeping and my housekeeper was just a sweetheart too but forgot her name unfortunately. My only Con was the bathroom size, as it was super small and there was no ventilation.

Kimberly “ ” Watson: Excellent! Love the space! The art exhibit in the hotel was wonderful!

D Nguyễn: This bar on the top of the hotel with a pool has a nice view of the city. Not that DC has much of a skyline. The pool is nice to relax after a day of exploring the museums. We went during the day for a couple drinks during Pride. We also came back in the evening before dinner for pre-drinks. It wasn't crowded. A couple people in the pool. The bar as a selection of food and cocktails. The bar service was friendly. Drinks are about what I expect from a hotel roof bar.

Neil Osment: Our review is split between the cocktail bar and the rooftop bar.....because the rooftop is actually closed for the season!! Not very helpful that this fact isn't advertised on Google or TripAdvisor by the hotel. However, the cocktail bar is very good, and Jorge (The Guru from Peru!!) is excellent. Friday evening (10/20/17 USA not GMT!) in the main bar was lively, vibrant and a great place to be 😊

Don Robinson: The bartender said it was a "soft opening" for the season. The drinks were very limited. No regular Red Bull (but lots of flavors of Red Bull), no Coke- only Pepsi, and not diet, and many other limitations. He gave us a free drink because he started to make the Jack and diet Pepsi but couldn't finish when he realized no diet Pepsi. The service was very good, and presumably they will have more options when they "really" open. The rooftop area was pretty basic, as I expected from the reviews, but the views of the city were nice. You could hear a little of the street music from Dupoint occasionally. This is not a destination, but was a great hour stopover between dinner and our Improv comedy show.

jo n: Visited on a Saturday late afternoon. When the bartender was asked about happy hour he claimed there wasn't one. Although the sign at the hotel lobby clearly stated there was one from 4-7pm. Based on quality, the drinks are super overpriced. The rooftop itself is small, an okay view. Don't waste your time visiting.

Reuben Wauyo: This is a beautiful venue and would seem to be all great but terrible customer service. Called for a reservation and information on restaurant and was referred to main line. To which someone picked up after I waited on hold, heard me then hung up. This is the most disrespectful and frustrating thing I can think of when trying to get things set for events. Calling back no one picks up and I have now been calling main line for 30 minutes to be assisted and again no one to answers. You would have to be crazy to work with these guys on anything important for you will receive absolutely no clarification or answers on any questions you have. I was very surprised to even see positive reviews at all. I really hope it’s an isolated event, but if I can help anyone else not deal with my issue I’ll be glad to steer you away and onto another location. I will update with location and name after my reservation is set with our new venue. Also to be noted, not even the central main line can reach these guys and are unwilling to even try. I believe we’ve definitely dodged a bullet.

Walter Hunt: Friendly staff , great location, very accommodating

Ariel Abramson: Nice view and plenty of seats, but they close early and there isn't much of a drink selection. My beer selection tapped out the keg but the nice bar server gave it to me at no charge.

Vue Rooftop: what do users think?

Elizabeth T.: Awesome location for a rooftop - only issue is that the best views are by the standing bar which seems to be an odd placement considering the food is expensive and you would think that they would seat more people by the windows. Drinks are on the pricier side with beer starting at $11. We ordered the burrata and lobster mango to start - by far the highlight of the meal. For dinner I got the lamb burger and it was okay but I’ve had better.

Elliott Schellinger: The views of the Washington monument are absolutely unparalleled from the booth at the Vue Rooftop. This was my first time at the establishment and I must admit I am quite impressed. The staff and the management were extremely accommodating, even though our demands were somewhat obnoxious. They were willing to open up the private dining area just for the two of us, and let us experience the D.C. skyline at its absolute best. The food was quite delicious. The appetizers in particular were truly scrumptious; “calamari” and “Parmesan fries” are the absolute must, along with the “olives and bread” starter. The must have cocktail for me was the “power to peaches”, divinely smooth and summery fresh. All-in-all, it was a perfect bon-voyage evening before we headed back to NYC. Thanks to the staff and the management for wrapping up our Washington D.C. visit in a ribbon with a luxurious bow on top.

JR Franks: Definitely worth checking out for the views of the WH and Mall, and the rooftop itself is quite spacious with a good amount of seating. The drinks were (unsurprisingly) on the pricier side so I probably wouldn’t come back often. Didn’t try the food but the burgers looked excellent, I’d probably try one if/when I come back.

Pat S: We had a table of 13 guest for a dinner party. My calamari was hard and overcooked my entree the seafood linguine was distasteful. Our entire table didn’t enjoy their entrees. Beautiful views of the White House and Mall, and the rooftop it’s spacious with a good amount of seating and upscale. Good vibes and ambience for drinking and dance only, dine somewhere else. The drinks were on the pricier side my cocktail was $22, overall so I probably won’t come back as often.

Robert Klara: Eggs Benedict was divine 🏽 Mimosas were definitely key 🥂 You can't beat the ambiance and the view. Reservations required for brunch and dinner. Worth the experience.

JD: This is a great spot for the social fare and view. It was packed on a Tuesday evening. Food was okay. Service okay. Drinks are great. Service gratuity is included in your bill, so tip extra when warranted

Robert Chang: If you want a great view of the White House, definitely check out this bar. Definitely worth spending the price for a drink just to check out the view. The drinks are definitely on the pricier side and my Old Fashion was a tad small but once again, the view was worth it.

PGAmos: Fantastic view. The White House is hidden because of the trees but I’m sure it’s in plain view during the winter. I attended an event and everything I ate was tasty. The drinks weren’t bad either! I’ll be adding this to my list for out-of-town folks to visit.

Susan FG: Food was great, as were service and views. One drink from the outdoor bar was not good, indoor bar drinks were definitely better. We still had to wait about 20 minutes for our table but that was not too bad

Christopher king: The view was pretty great. I ordered the lobster and rice because the bartender recommended it. The presentation was great but it tasted really dry. My friend got the crab cakes and those were delicious! Dont get the rice, it’s not worth $54. Probably wouldn’t visit again.

Top of the Gate: what do users think?

Alvaro H. Torres: Amazing view and I would highly recommend it. The sunset was amazing and the food was delicious. I had a memorable experience and enjoyed it spending it with my wife and first born. If you are in the DC area, this is a must stop for the Watergate scandal and for the rooftop bar.

Austin Graff: Top of the Gate is the quintessential D.C. experience. On the rooftop of the Watergate Hotel, there's history (Watergate Scandal) and rooftop views. After going for drinks on a Thursday evening, here's my experience: 1) Space: Walk through the Watergate Hotel lobby and take the elevator to the top floor. The rooftop is spacious with tables, couches, etc. It's a great place for drinks or a date night. 2) Views: 360 views of the area, you can see Georgetown, the Washington Monument, Rosslyn, etc. Go when the sun is setting after a good rain. The sky s stunning! 3) Drinks/Food: They aren't bad. It won't win awards, but it's decent enough, making it a fun spot for a happy hour or dinner.

Adam Galazka: Amazing views at night. Service was great. Drinks were great as well. Definitely a little pricey on drinks but probably expected in a hotel. It did close at 1115 on a Friday which seemed a little early for a Friday night. We will definitely come back.

Claus R B: The view of this place is just AMAZING! Perfect for special occasions, we had a wonderful lady helping us to choose the appetizers and she was right...the shrimp is great and if you are hungry order the pizza. Drinks are expensive but worth it.

Zeeshan E: Booked a table for 3 a few months in advance to make sure we get a good view as we expected experience. The issues are simple but shocking. Started a boys weekend off by visiting this embarrassing place. 1) We were seated somewhere around the side towards the back on old wicker seating with no cushions. Be warned not all seating is good. The chairs are low and you have to stand to get a view. Some towards the front bar area seem nicer. 2) We waited 50 minutes for one round of simple drinks. @$20-$25 each for vodka and ginger beer or rum and coke. Our reservation was at 5PM hardly a crowd. 3) Waited another 40 minutes for food. Basic pizza and fries another $1xx. Total was over $200 and auto gratuity lol what a joke. We will NEVER ever come back. Terrible service, grossly understaffed and over priced. We will personally go out of my way to make sure everyone knows NOT to waste a second in this place.

Denise: I felt the previous views were unwarranted. This one of the best rooftop bars in DC. The view is amazing, service was professional, and drinks were on par. The prices are about right with other high class rooftops. I will be coming back here again soon.

Matt Ryder: Had the audacity to cancel a reservation we made weeks in advance the day of “due to a private event”. Note to management: if you’re going to be so bold as to tell all reservations they will be charged $50/pp cancellation fee for any reservations cancelled within 24 hours - you should do the same should the tables turn. Will you be paying me $100 now due to your lack of proper scheduling and communication to your guests?? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Maxwell D.: Frankly, really disappointing. There is so much potential here to be a destination bar and they absolutely squander it! The cocktails are $18, served in thin plastic cups, and of the same quality that you’d get at a cheap late night college bar. The food, which is hilariously overpriced, is also average at best. $29 for two pitiful skewers with overcooked steak on them and a $26 7 Eleven pizza with some olives and banana peppers thrown on it. The service was below average as well, with servers disappearing for long periods of time, employees literally throwing drinks off the roof, and an otherwise pleasant hostess that waved us through and advised us to sit anywhere despite having a reservation. The ONLY redeeming quality of this bar is the stunning views of Georgetown, Arlington, the Kennedy Center, and the low flying aircraft on approach to DCA. DO NOT come here expecting quality concessions and cocktails, or even decent service.

sdgainesdc: Limited menu, pricey, staff seemed pretty helpful. Not a place I would go too often but it was a special occasion.

Will Normand: The rooftop was practically EMPTY, and it was just 2 of us and we wanted to get a drink at the bar. They insisted we "check in" at the host stand prior to going to the bar, which insanely took around 8 minutes per group. Literally took 15 minutes of standing in line at the host stand with barely anyone in front of us to be able to get a drink at the bar. The host had zero sense of urgency, handled everything as slowly as possible. Very disappointing experience. Once we got to the front, they said we needed a reservation just to have a drink at the bar. Horrible, will never be back

Ozio Lounge: what do users think?

Erica Kearney: The Drinks Are Juice It’s No Champagne At All In The Mimosas I Wasted An Outfit Coming Here There Was No Food The Fat Manger Was Very Rude When Asking Questions About Where Is The Food. Then They Made Their TOGO Plates First Before Serving Us. hookah 80$ Please After Paying 60 To Drink Juice And Eat Old Grits Save Ya Money The Scenery Is Cute But That’s It.

Alex: Went around 9 pm and the bouncer told me I looked drunk and asked me if I had been somewhere else beforehand. I had 2-3 drinks with a friend at another bar beforehand and told him this. He at first refused to let me in, but after I specifically asked why I wasn't let in, he let me in. My friend was charged 22 dollars for a shot here. There are better bars/clubs

203Whitty: Sunday was horrible and I really wanted my money back. Arrived at 1 and most of the food on the top floor was already gone. Had to keep walking back to the next level just to get food, that was nasty. The mimosa was all juice. Will never return again.

Tiara Welch: Couple things I noted about brunch: 1) was on the second floor, the entire second floor had one waitress/server for the whole floor. 2) they were giving us juice with no champagne for bottomless mimosas (check your glass for bubbles) 3) buffet server was using his hands to serve French toast and bacon 4) music is solid. 5) Salmon was my favorite. — overall the food was good for my experience. 6) the crowd was very very young.. like, college kids pretending to be Cardi B & the Migos.

A Lee: Rip off!! They have free entry on eventbrite. The girl at the hostess stands say it’s 60 each to get in: that would have been fine if you we didn’t eat at Air Lounge: the food is better btw. Rip off!! They deserve zero stars!! We were willing to buy drinks but not brunch. The girl looked Asian btw: that way you will know who we worked with.

Carissa Nicole: Yesterday was my first time back since 2018 (went for brunch). The food was really good but cold!!! Mimosas were juiced down (could barely taste the champaign). Drinks are BEYOND overpriced (paid $32 for two shots of crown royal, CROWN ROYAL, before the added gratiuity). Depending on where you're seated, you're going to be hand fanning yourself. $60 isn't worth it, specifically because the mimosas are very weak. If y'all do better with the mimosas, $60 would be more doable ...and tell your buffet servers to stop throwing food on your patrons' plates smh

Jayda Brown: Great vibes. Good food. I’m not sure why it’s so hot in there please fix your air conditioning. Other than Ozios being a sauna , I highly recommend for girls brunch !

Kevin Gaines: Paid 120 for me and my girlfriend brunch was told bottomless mimosas but it would come every other hour and also was told all u can eat but they ran out of food but the atmosphere and music was vibe

Michael Benissan: I visited with a group of friends during the late afternoon hours on a Sunday while on a short trip to DC. When we first entered, I noticed a laid back lounge vibe and wondered where everyone was given there was word of a day party going on there. Turned out the rooftop is where the party was! The high energy crowd, drinks, and upbeat music from the DJ made this an exciting hangout.

Sharese Davis: We had brunch reservations and basically paid $60 to stare at each other and eat cold food. They could hire more staff or something. We paid for bottomless mimosas and didn’t even get that. I ended up buying myself some drinks but all in all this was an extreme waste of money. DO NOT come here for brunch. Go elsewhere, some place that can accommodate you for a decent price atleast. They claim to do everything in order by reservation but that’s not true, we were here since 2 and another table received better service than us and we got here after them. Their time pretty much ran out and they were still Being accommodated. They really need to do better honestly. Waste of money. Actually stay home make your own drinks. Save you money and time.

Gun Geek Gang: Stopped by while staying in the hotel, apparently they've just reopened for the season - perfect timing! Bartender (Ken?) was awesome and the space itself is huge. Will definitely be back when I'm in DC again!

Transcend Reality: Awesome place, and they're open for the season again! 12-8pm Thursday-Monday as it stands but will change (expand) in the future according to them... Can't wait for their events!

Kyaa B: Hi, I’m still waiting on my refund. Patrick the manager told me that my refund would be processed but Natalia has not gotten back to me via email.

Medellinin: Awesome place! Great staff, great sized pool. Will definitely be back 😉

Emilian Papadopoulos: Great pool day at Deck 11 on the rooftop of Yotel. Great food and very attentive service from the bartender and waitstaff. Shout-out to Queenie in management who moved our passes from a cloudy day to a different day on a moment's notice and with no fuss.

feeko J: It’s a joke$75 to enter. For what?Food is super pricey and average in taste and quality. The pool is so small.

Blanco Negro: Nice little bar, friendly staff and great rooftop atmosphere.

Nick McCoy: Don't make a reservation here. Not a bad spot to hang out, but the reservation will mess with your bill and it's pretty empty even when they show that they're busy.

T Roy: $44.00 for 2 drinks, yeah right. Will never drink there again. Pool was nice

B Chill: Nice spot and vibe. I attended last Saturday with friends, the staff was really friendly.

CUT Above: what do users think?

Laetitia Monnier: Beautiful view of the Potomac river. The rooftop is really nice. We went at night and we could see the Potomac river and the skyscrapers in Virginia. We took desserts and it was so good ! We had the chocolate soufflé from the famous restaurant just below and it was one of the best cake that I had !! The basque cheesecake was good also but the chocolat soufflé was definitely the star of the show for me.
Response: Dear Laetitia: Thank you so much for you kind review of CUT Above. I am delighted that you were able to enjoy two of our signature desserts as you took in the view from above the hotel We look forward to having you back with us. Sincerley, CUT DC and Rosewood Washington D.C.

Manda B: Beautiful rooftop. Pretty small, chill spot so a good place to have a stop-by on a date night.. The cocktails were pretty good!
Response: Dear Manda B: Thank you for this delightful review! I hope we can welcome you back for more date nights! See you soon, CUT DC and Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Cc C: Terrible service, terrible experience. We sat for an hour and we’re never served water. They didn’t bring us any menus for 90 minutes. The drinks are dramatically over priced for rail whiskey and tequila - at least $20 a cocktail. To add insult to injury, it took 15 minutes before the bartender even acknowledged me but served the woman who sat down after me. The ambiance inside is incredibly dark and they refuse to turn on the lights even at our parties request - we paid for an entire section in the restaurant. Ridiculous! The absolute WORST part was that the table we were supposed to sit at was left dirty for 45 minutes and they let us stand around, refusing to clean and adjoin the tables for our party. We ended up doing it ourselves! I would not recommend this place to any of my friends. I hate being that guy, I really do, but I honestly feel we were being discriminated against for our race! I wanted us to go to Flavio instead so bad!
Response: Dear Cc C Thank you for your note and comments. I am wondering if you can please reach out to me directly with more specifics about your experience so that we may address these with your personally. I can be reached by calling the hotel at 202 617 2400. This will then allow us to offer a more detailed public response to the above review. Many thanks, Timothy Edgecombe Director of Sales, Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Rene Hugentobler: Limited expensive selection. I expected more from a 5 star hotel and especially from Puck. Food, drinks and ambiance. Additionally maybe a minimal dress code would be beneficial. The Graham seems to be the better choice.
Response: Dear Rene Hugentobler: Thank you for the feedback. As you can appreciate our rooftop lounge, which is adjacent to our rooftop pool, is used by both hotel guests and those from outside - so there will always be a variety of casual attire in this space. Given our kitchen set-up at CUT Above our Temaki Sushi program best allows us to provide an experience unique to the offering of CUT Lounge (on the main floor - which also has outdoor space). We have ensured that given our unique program and setting, our pricing is very competitive with others providing similar experiences. I hope we have a chance to welcome you to one of the other venues we offer in the near future. Sincerely, CUT D.C. and Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Nisan A.: Went there for a drink with a friend and loved the Cut Above. Artisan cocktails and a good menu. Took great pictures for the full moon while there that night. The only thing is that it’s just a bit overpriced.
Response: Hello Nisan: Thank you so much for your review and the great picture! I hope we have the chance to welcome you back. Rosewood Washington, D.C. and CUT D.C.

Ronjon Ray: Beautiful venue, decent drinks. The tiny taco "sushi" appetizers were extremely overpriced. Would go back for drinks only.
Response: Dear Ronjon Ray: Thank you for your recent visit to CUT Above and for the rating. We appreciate the feedback and will review our menus accordingly. Hopefully we can welcome you back in the near future. Sincerely, CUT D.C. and Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Scott Heldman: Fantastic view!Drinks were great.Service just a little slow.
Response: Dear Mr. Heldman Thank you for you kind review and your note on your service experience. We have made note of this comment and hope to welcome you back in the near future! Sincerely, CUT D.C. and Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Harry Fang: Nice rooftop bar and lounge with good food and drinks. A pool is accessible for hotel guests.

J: Went for a drink on a Friday night at 9:30 with two friends. Was told by the hostess that they were at capacity and there was a 15 min wait. We get up there at 9:45 and the bar is almost completely empty. Server doesn't come by until 10 and tells us it's last call and they're closing. Drink menu only has gin and tequila cocktails. Overall a sad experience for such a nice hotel.
Response: Dear J: Thanks for your feedback and for allowing us the opportunity to reply. Please understand that we were fully committed when you arrived - not being completely full is not the same as us limiting the number of guests we allow up at one time. We appreciate your comments about being a delayed greeting and you can rest assured we are working diligently on staffing levels. Our menu does highlight our Gin and tequila offerings; however, you can ask the server for just about anything you want and it can be served to you - our offerings are vast - we wanted to keep the actual menu as focused as possible. I hope we can welcome you back and you experience will be what it should be. Sincerely, CUT D.C. and Rosewood Washington, D.C.

D “D”: Newly opened hotel will generally pay more attention to their guests and high end hotels will pay attention in all areas to their guests . Rosewood DC recently opened in last October , and I visited recently their rooftop bar. Geo was our bartender who paid great attention while there were few couples, and then large group came and Geo all by himself.. tending the demand of that group. Food comes from the kitchen but there is no host to ask if everything is okay, Geo did when he got free time, but it's not bartenders job. And if I wanted something extra with my food, who do I go to? I have been to many rooftop bars , and Rosewood needs to kick up its service few notches up..
Response: Dear D: Thank you very much for your feedback. You can rest assured that we are working diligently to ensure that your next experience will not be a repeat of this past one. Sincerely, Rosewood Washington, D.C./ CUT

Heriberto Gonzalez (Heri): Had an absolute lovely time! The food was on point and the staff was super friendly from the get go. We were celebrating our anniversary and they were very accommodating. We had the seared tuna and a very tasty beet salad. The fry cake dessert was scrumptious. Of course you go for the bourbon and they didn't disappoint. Some stuff we were looking for were out, but Matt was able to suggest similar bourbons that were awesome! If you want to have a great time and try hard to find bourbon, stop by!

Oceanie De Silva: What an Amazing Whiskey Collection!! We had a night out of drinks here with our friend who was visiting us and we absolutely loved the place and the collection of whiskeys and bourbon and so many other stuff! The bar tenders are so friendly and knowledgeable about everything! I said I love fruity cocktails with either Gin or Vodka and instant cocktails were created! Must visit in DC

Meg Salocks: One of the best collections of Scotch Malt Whisky Society on the east coast, along with lots of other unique bottles with a real range in prices. The staff are eternally nice and thoughtful, and will happily help you find the right pour for your tastes. A date night favorite if whiskey is your thing.

Jasen Covert: Amazing selection of bourbon, whiskey and scotch. What made the night was how great our service was. Very knowledgeable on all things whiskey, and recommended phenomenal drinks. Can't wait to be back!

Anindita Barman: This is a very popular place I could tell from the crowd that was in the restaurant even after the kitchen had closed. We had the "Jack Rose Barrel Picks" flight, the "Time in a Bottle" cocktail, whiskey Wings and fries. The whiskey selection in the flight was great, the cocktail and the wings were good as well, however, the fries were not seasoned or salted at all. Service was good but the host could have done better. He just stood there without greeting or anything so we were not sure if he was part of the staff. Upon asking if he worked there, he said he did after which we asked for a table and he led us to one. :/ Parking can be a hassle as the restaurant is in the heart of DC. There is street parking but finding a spot is up to luck.

Gregg Caldwell: Have been here two times and the service has been excellent and the bourbon knowledge has been on par. Not sure how long it would take a server to know what liquor they have and the ability to speak about each bottle? Place gets loud as it gets later in the night. Make sure to check out the upstairs area.

Kevin Raisch: As a whisk(e)y fan, I had to visit Jack Rose while in DC and it was awesome. Kyle, our whisky advisor, perfectly crafted a whisky flight based on my preferences and provided very detailed and interesting facts about the story and science behind each bottle. In addition to the 3,000 unique bottles of whisky they have food, beer, cocktails and two floors of space (including outdoor space) so it’s perfect even for those who don’t want whisky.

Larry Miller: Over 2600 different Whiskies in their inventory. Great selection of rare whiskey. Great cocktails, service and food. This was a busket list bar for me. Itcwas the worth the trip.

Michael McDaniel: Truly a must-go place for bourbon and whiskey lovers. For starting at only $28, you’ll get to experience 3 bottles tasting with an excellent background on each bottle by well-knowledgeable and passionate servers. The second floor is open air with different corners to experience.

Nick Lethbridge: A whiskey lovers dream! The list of rare bourbon and Scotch is phenomenal. It's an absolute must for Bourbon lovers with a long list of options. Bar staff are incredibly knowledgeable.

Lost Society: what do users think?

Christina Arthur: I liked dining here for HH. The jerk chicken tacos and mojitos were good. The waiters are very attentive. While the menu is limited I think it creates better quality small bites. I really liked the buttermilk chicken sandwich, truffle fries and the Ceasar brussel sprouts.

Erika Walker: The food was outstanding! I had truffle fries, brussel sprouts, and the salmon with risotto and I enjoyed every bite! Everything is ordered and paid for through an app that charges a service fee and a fee to use the app you are required to use🤔. The amount of tip on top of those fees are optional. Drink options were limited meaning they had very few mixers so cocktails were pretty basic. The atmosphere is definitely for a young crowd. I would go again just for the food!

Tam E: If you are going during the pandemic, good luck. We came with a group of five and we had the option to order from an app and just pay the tab there. It took over an hour for us to get our food and when we did get our orders they were incorrect-- and never fixed. One person in my party opted to order with a server and after an hour of not getting a portion of her order, the server insisted that he brought us the missing food. He proceeded to accuse us of lying.... If we were of a different hue in sure this wouldn't have EVER happened but we aren't going to get into that here........ The server ended up bringing out the food but he was very sarcastic about it and it looked ...... Sketchy. We didn't eat it.There was another table that came in and waited over 30 minutes to even get water-- after paying over $200 over the app for food and drinks-- oh and service fees and tip. I understand the industry is short staffed right now. I understand there will be a wait but this place is in complete chaos and something in their process is broken. It's like they know they are guaranteed payment so can careless about what your experience is. No one checks on you, the food was bland and my wings were Under cooked. Everything was paid for, including tip and service charge and we received drop off service like we were at a drive thru. By far the worst service I've seen in DC since the pandemic........

V. Josey Riggins: Vibe was good & chill, 21-& up but it was more of a 27&up crowd. I went for Sunday brunch, make sure you reserve a table because when you make a reservation online it’s just for entry. At 5pm they start switching out the table and the DJ comes. However the shrimp tacos are bomb af! The hash browns are good. There is no “technical” server. Everything is done through a QR code. So basically when you place your own order then a server will come over but just to make sure your okay. It was tricky because you will have to find someone if you have menu questions for food allergies and such. There are unlimited mimosas, however it is wayyy wayy too much juice, but I did like the fact a waitress came around with the champagne bottle. However I didn’t leave tipsy off lots of mimosas .. so they are weak LOL upstairs rooftop is a vibe, bathrooms clean and I like that they have multiple restrooms. Ok my review is finished ! Enjoy !

Collette Sayles: After going to the Gibson for an Amex event my friend and I started looking for a restaurant HH or somewhere to grab dinner...because the Gibson doesn't serve food. Checked Google and Yelp and saw that Lost Socety was right around the corner and had HH so we headed over. IDs checked so we headed up to the rooftop first, found a table and waited. We saw at least 3 different waitresses or waiters bring hookah and food, called after them but no one came over or acknowledged our presence. So after ~10 minutes we decided to head down to the 3rd floor. Said hello to the hostess, told her we didn't have a reservation and were shown to a table. As we passed the hostess stand I reached for the menus because I noticed she hadn't picked any up when taking us to the table and she looked back at me and with the look she gave me I just put them back. She didn't say anything, but I felt reprimanded. We were seated at a table for 2 right next to the bar and told to scan the QR code for the menu. After some discussion we decided to get 4 appetizers to share and a cocktail. Saw a guy eating behind the bar and eventually a woman appeared behind the bar but neither of them acknowledged us. I said excuse me when the guy stopped eating and stepped from behind the bar but I guess he didn't hear me, because he kept going. We then said excuse me to the women behind the bar, she came over and told us we're supposed to order using our phones...first time we're hearing this. Of course by now it's 7:01pm and HH is over. We said no one explained this to us in the almost 20 minutes we had been in the restaurant, will they still take our order and honor the HH menu and were told no...it was now after 7pm. Nowhere on the Lost Society website does it state the 3 for $20 menu is only available during certain hours, it's only when we're finally able to get a staff member to come over to our table is it explained to us. The service to this point has been lacking to say the least so we decided to just go somewhere else. As we're passing the hostess stand it's now 7:03 and I told her our issues with the service and she simply said sorry. I guess when you have an automatic gratuity added to all checks between 5-8pm there's no incentive to provide even a modicum of basic customer service. There are too many restaurant options around the 14th St corridor to accept poor service, so we left and enjoyed our HH elsewhere.

Angella Daluz: That’s society is a vibe, depending on what promoter is there that night. Rooftop can get really hot in the summers so make sure your edges are laid !

Gboss1232 love: The bouncer seemed to have lots of friends tonight. My sister and I waited for what was like 45 min. and when we reach the FRONT he turned his back to us and let about 5 others in in front of us. Also! $20 entry fee. African music upstairs.

Briana Blakeney: So I wouldn't know if the food was good or not because they decided to close the kitchen and not let people know that they close the kitchen that ordered their food it looked good though so that's why they don't get more stars for me cuz I thought that was very unprofessional.

S. Valencia Tyrell: Out for lunch on busy Saturday. Prices high, good environment for Z Generation. Drinks watered dwn. Good looking staff/plasant people. Best to reserve a table then just walk in. Would recommend if passing by. Probably would go back if I was passing thru DC again.S.

Rashida Thompson: If looking for good music, outdoor partying and 25 and older crowd this is the place for you. The shots were $20.

El Techo: what do users think?

Alexis Farrar: The drinks was great we got passion Margarita drinks and Parton shots. We ordered the taco bowls and lamb tacos it was great as well haven’t had tacos that great in a while. The whole atmosphere was a vibe the decorations was fire we will definitely go back just make sure you make reservations.
Response: Thanks for the great review!

Patrick Young: Margaritas at happy hour were tasty, cocktails were tasty, and the decor was beautiful, but the rooftop had a plastic shield that blocked our view. We went here since we were looking for a rooftop bar experience, but it takes away from the experience if we can’t see out. The drinks were pretty pricey too even at happy hour

Tenny Kristiana: Love this place. Owner is kind and staff also really nice. Came here a bit late and it was full. We ordered nachos and it was good, love it. Also love their charcoal shot 😆

Moira Leonard: We sat at the bar in a gorgeous covered outdoor space. Our bartender Lina was fantastic and made us so beautiful and delicious drinks. I had the gin drink in the menu with rose and mint syrup among other things and my girlfriend had some special frozen concoction. Lina made some great recommendations and our tacos were fantastic. The carnitas with pineapple slaw was so yummy, but the SHOWSTOPPER was the handmade corn tortillas. They were so soft and held together so well. They were hands down the best tortillas I’ve ever had. If I’m ever back in DC I’m coming for the tacos and the cocktails.

Bobbi DeAnda: This place is a whole vibe!!! Such a beautiful setting! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because about 3/4 of the drink menu was unavailable (and the drinks we got were tasty but weak). Tacos were yummy - and it was taco Tuesday. They messed up my order but brought a replacement quickly. The only other things, seating is not comfortable and it’s not accessible at all - no elevator and large staircase to get there. Other than those things, loved this place! Great service, cool vibe, and great selfie backdrops, haha! :)

Nettie Jackson: Not from DC, so the crowded places still throw me off haha but besides that this place was really cute. You have to make reservations or you will be standing in a line for most the night. It's 20$ fee to book reservations I added a note it was my birthday and they gave us seats but the open window porch . They were nice service. We got the birria empanadas i apologize i only have a video of the food but it was plentiful and 8/10 . I was surprised how affordable the prices were ! It ranged from 7 to 15 dollars. Our server and other staff were very friendly and even with all dc choas rhat it is they were also attentive too! Eventually the window had to be closed due to noise. They play loud music 🎶 but they turned the ac on and the night continued. I also believe there is a 2hr max limit at the table but we had enough time to eat and have some drinks before heading out. I found this place from tiktok. I went on a Saturday night at 1030pm reservation and it was packed

Niki Handy: A complete vibe! Cinco de Mayo lunch was lively with the mariachi band. The margaritas were on point and the service was quick and friendly. Downside- the corn tortillas didn't hold up well with the moisture from the pico or salsa. The three of us all ordered tacos and all had the same issue. I had the shrimp, chicken and fried avocado tacos. Of the three the fried avocado was my favorite. The mango margarita was refreshing.

Johnleia Lambert: El Techo is a vibe! The decor is dreamy, whimsical and simply beautiful. The avocado taco was a surprise treat on the menu. The texture was perfect and the ingredients paired well. The Imperio cocktail was refreshing and perfectly made. I recommend the birria tacos if you love lamb as much as I do. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. Definitely go to El Techo if you are in the Shaw area.
Response: Thanks for the great review and please tell your friends!

Yonykis Noel: This place was slightly difficult to find. Had it not been for the gentleman who greeted me as I walked past the front, I would have walked past it. FYI it's up the stairs! Tacos are sold individually and no bundle i.e, 3 for a certain price. So be prepared to shell out at least 15$ for 3 tacos. They are generous with all ingredients.

Aaron Krahling: Great Atmosphere, Excellent Menu, Highly Reccomended My teenage daughter and I met a friend at El Techo last night and it was a very pleasant experience. We were greeted and seated promptly at our reservation time. The decor was simple but unique and pretty cool looking. The noise levels were low to moderate so conversation wasn’t difficult, which is my biggest pet peeve when dining. The wait staff was quick to greet us at the table and helped us with any questions we had about different dishes. At our friend’s recommendation, we ordered one of each of their fresh juices followed by their cleanse juice. These beverages were unique in their blends of (not all in one) beets, tangerine, lemon, ginger, apple juice, pear juice and several others that I’m not recalling at this time. When the server brought the juices, they also brought our order of chips/salsa/queso/guacamole. The guacamole was fresh made in house and spiced appropriately while the queso and salsa were far above average. After talking to the server for a while and asking more questions than most would tolerate, we ended up ordering 2 of the 3-taco trays. The juices kind of unexpectedly filled us up so we were light on the meal. The tacos we ordered were Carne Asada, Fried Avocado and Shrimp. They came served on corn tortillas, which weren’t too hard or soft, topped with lettuce, tomato (might have been pico) and onions and then of course whatever the main topping was. They were the perfect temperature and definitely fit in my top 5 best tacos I’ve had, which might sound sub par, but I’ve had hundreds at restaurants all over the country. Since we filled up on juices and tacos, there was no room for dessert but that’s okay. It gives me something to look forward to the next time around. Overall, I give this place a 9/10……………. because there’s no such thing as perfect.

12 Stories: what do users think?

Megan Martinez: This place is perfect for celebration cocktails and happy hour. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and I took my sister here for her birthday. Both times the view was spectacular, it wasn’t too crowded, and the service is just amazing. Each time the waiter brought a couple celebration shots and it made the occasion even more special! Deon was so friendly and welcoming. I can’t wait to go back!

Jason Saville: My company rented out the place for a night and we all had a blast. Very beautiful place, lots of room, great drinks and fast service. The view off the roof top is really nice. I would love to go back.

john Dickerson: The spot was dope, if you want a table or something to sit please make a reservation, and there's a 90 minutes time limit on reservation from the time your orders arrive. The staffs there are on their job, the DJ was great. Food and drinks was wonderful.

Black Star Dust: As you enter it looks like a hallway to no where but once you take the elevator ALL the way up, you’ll definitely feel like you’ve arrived. The rooftop vibes are on point. Great outdoor patio seating with panoramic views of the Potomac and Potomac golf course/Haines Point. I had the delicious salmon and kale salad and an old fashion. Both were delicious. The music and vibes are top tier. Great for a date night or night on the town with friends.

Donna Thompson: Came here got a quick pre-show meal. The menu was very limited but it made due. The grilled shrimp and the lamb steam buns were top notch. Also service was great. The place was empty but they made sure to make us feel welcomed.

Nia Bright: Very limited menu option. Beautiful restaurant + vibe but I wasn’t very satisfied with the Turkey club sandwich. Not sure what kind of sauce the put on because the menu don’t state it. The bread on the sandwich tasted terrible so I didn’t eat it. The po boy is good when they don’t toast the bread too long. Crab tacos 4/5 tasted good but I wish it had more than just cheese and crab. The crab dip was very tasteful. They should up the chips portion. So anyway the experience was good. I just wasn’t satisfied. Very good service for everyone. Also love that it’s a 21+ location. Thank you for bringing out our friend cake with candles

DeAndra Holmes: The view, vibe and ambiance was amazing. The menu is quite small but they make the best crab dip I've ever had. If crab dip isn't for you, get the PoBoy! Their drinks were great too. Customer service is top notch

Trena Briscoe: I recently celebrated my birthday with some close friends at 12 Stories at the Wharf. Everything from planning the event to having the party was easy and enjoyable. I reserved the Cove area of the club for my event, and it was perfect: The staff was attentive. The food was delicious! The music and the atmosphere were chic and elegant. I want to thank Judy Ava, the event planner, especially - she made me feel welcomed and handled everything with excellent care. I would be thrilled to host another event here.

Tina Beale: I was disappointed that we had a $75 minimum per person for bar food and was required to dress up for a lounge setting. The crab dip had mostly cheese and the drinks were water down. The Po Boy, chicken tenders and truffle fries were good. The View was spectacular but not sure it was worth the $500 dollars price tag for 90 minutes. That’s right you get only 90 minutes to enjoy the view. But at least I can say I tried it.

Candace L: Beautiful outdoor seating. It was cold outside but the heaters outside made the weather bearable. Our server was great, quick, and friendly. I tasted the chicken and burger. Get the chicken! It was delicious. My friend enjoyed the crab dip. Drinks were made quickly and tasted great. We made reservations and our table was ready when we arrived. Parking is a beast so arrive early. They stick to their 90 minute times on reservations.

Rosebar Lounge: what do users think?

Tiara: I wouldn't recommend this spot for people visiting looking to have a comfortable section to drink and smoke hookah. We booked this section in advanced and told them how many people were in our party. Our section was SUPER small and included an even smaller coffee table and an extended bench. How can seven people use 1 small coffee table. I thought that they would have atleast recommended a larger section based the number of people, but all the sections were pretty much the same size, which resulted in people piling up on benches or standing to get to the hookah or their drinks.

Lane McCall: Pros - Clean environment - Beautiful aesthetics - Great lighting effects - I got compliments lol Cons - Most bartenders are rude - $20 cover (cash only) - Venu is small and cramped - Music was severely lacking

Carson Goff: Come to this bar if you want to fear for your life. Worst crowd of any bar in DuPont. Avoid at all costs.

Tracey Hart: i fly down to dc once in a while to visit friends and family and was very disappointed to learn this place was boring and colorist. They apparently dont hire women of deeper complexions and their waitresses are online arguing, being fatphobic, and unprofessional. I could never do that and expect to keep my job but of course this place has no standards so im not too surprised. Spend your money somewhere else.

Google User: Guess you gotta be a somebody to get a table or section here, I reached out way in advance before my birthday letting them know I was interested in getting a table for when I come celebrate my birthday. Someone responded asked for my contact info, left me on read and never heard from them again. It would’ve been my first time in DC and my first time going here.

Shaneaka R.: The music was great in the room all the way to the back. Loved the decor on the ceiling. You must have to reserve the hookah because it was sold out.

soccerqueen181: Not professional! From the hiring process to the social media presence they do not know how to conduct business. They also refuse to hire women of color which is confusing because DC is referred to as chocolate city. Definitely take your business elsewhere because they need to actually learn how to run an establishment properly.

Ed E: This place is a waste of time and money. Bad music, overpriced drinks, they want to charge a lot of money to get in, bully bouncers pushing people because they feel less in their small brains, small space. There are many other options in DC than this awful place.

Mrs. A: Entirely to small inside. They had it packed and it was no room to dance shoot we barely could walk. It definitely was giving kiss whoever is in front of you vibes. I hated it and I think they were desperate for money the way they squeezed everybody in there. I was literally only there for 15min and that was just tryna use the bathroom. I paid my money just too pee I never enjoyed myself couldn't even raise my hands

Brandon Jones: It might very well be awesome, but when I went, it was deadlocked in the back bar.

Rosewood Washington, D.C.: what do users think?

C. Pine: Best hotel in Georgetown. I love the charm of this hotel right in the heart of everything. The friendliest staff and impeccable service and luxurious accommodations while steps away from shopping and more dining options. The library/reception area is a cozy and elegant pace for a nightcap or to lounge. The rooftop offers a fantastic view of the cityscape and is a great for private functions or if you need a peaceful place to hang out.
Response: Dear C. Pine: Thank you very much for this delightful review! We look forward to having you back with us in the near future! Sincerely, Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Mandy Jacqueline: The Lobby Bar in the Rosewood was amazing. Great service and wonderful drinks if you’re looking for high-class
Response: Dear Mandy: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are delighted you enjoyed your experience and look forward to having you back with us. Sincerley, CUT DC and Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Shana Acquisto (Luxury Realtor): Stopped in for a drink on the rooftop. Beautiful atmosphere. Drinks were pricey and honestly a bit too much sugar for our liking but some may prefer that. Very friendly staff once we got up to the rooftop and great service.
Response: Dear Shana Acquisto: Thank you for your kind review of CUT Above and for your honest feedback. We have shared this with the team. We look forward to having you back with us soon. Sincerely Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Jay Gif: Staff were friendly and helpful. Valet offered to keep Tesla charged overnight which was great! The room was THE quietest hotel room we've ever stayed in (no HVAC noise at all). Bed was comfortable, bathroom nice although some paint bubbling in ceiling. The rooftop spa and bar looked amazing but too cold to enjoy. Deducted a star for value, was very expensive and just didn't quite deliver what I felt it should at that price...
Response: Dear Mr. Gif: Thank you for your kind review of our hotel, much appreciated! I have made note of your comments and am grateful for those. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance in the meantime. Sincerely, Gabor L. Vida Managing Director Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Tania Ferguson: The Rosewood DC is remarkably disappointing. More expensive than comparable rooms at the Ritz or Four Seasons, there are essentially no luxury amenities. The pool is the size of two hot tubs. Sadly, Cut the restaurant had a kitchen fire and therefore there is no way to get anything to eat at the hotel. I had to go grocery shopping. They did not offer any discount for this inconvenience. The did make the minibar complementary except for liquor….and there is essentially nothing to eat in the minibar. The room is incredibly small and the bathroom hard to manage in its size. The “partial canal view” is just a brick wall. One must stand to look out the window if water is to be seen-and only then with great focus. More accurately this is a brick wall view. There is no spa, the fitness facility is smaller than a bathroom with no modern equipment in it except a single peleton bike with bad pedals. The fitness facility is a really big disappointment-I’ve had to find a gym to go work out at. So I’ve had to leave the premises for food, workout, spa services….It’s a travesty to the Rosewood brand. They should close the hotel and renovate, modernize-or drop the prices to reflect the current facade.
Response: Dear Ms. Ferguson: Thank you for posting your thoughts about your recent stay with us. I am very sorry that it did not meet your expectations. We, too, are very sad that the incident in the kitchen has resulted in us not being able to occupy that space and provide the In-Room Dining you were hoping for - we hope to have this matter rectified shortly. I do hope that you enjoyed the complimentary breakfast we had set up in the lounge for all our guests. I also hope that the fresh fruit bowls that we delivered to you helped the situation. The room you occupied (about 420 square feet) does have unobstructed views of the canal, I believe the brick wall to which you are referring is the exterior wall of the building on the opposite side of the canal. As you know, there is no reference to a spa on our site but we do offer in-room massage services - one of which was offered to you with our compliments. We shall review the verbiage regarding the fitness center but the listing of equipment on the page is accurate. Overall, I am sorry that we didn't meet your expectations and hope that the reduction of your room rate that was offered helped to ease this a bit. I hope we have the chance to welcome you back in the near future and be able to deliver the experience you expect. Sincerely, Timothy Edgecombe Director of Sales

Mohsen: Enjoyed one week of stay at this hotel. Everything was perfect and felt personal. Fantastic staff.
Response: Dear Mohsen: Thank you so much for your kind comments - it was fantastic having both you and your fellow travellers with us. I sincerely hope we can welcome you back in the very near future! Sincerely, Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Kelly Smith: Great hotel. Near everything in Georgetown. Service is amazing. Nicest place in the area.
Response: Dear Ms. Smith: Thank you very much for your lovely review of Rosewood Washington, D.C. We sincerely hope we have the chance to welcome you back in the very near future. Sincerely, Timothy Edgecombe Director of Sales

Andrew Carmichael: Amazing hotel experience in a wonderful part of DC. It’s a smaller hotel that does a stellar job of balancing the finesse of a larger hotel with the intimacy of a boutique one. The team remembers everyone’s name and does to whatever they can to make your stay a memorable one.
Response: Dear Mr. Carmichael: Thank you very much for this wonderful review. We are delighted that you enjoyed the intimate experience that makes "The Gem of Georgetown" such a favourite among its guests. We hope to welcome you back in the near future. Sincerely, Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Lisa Morin: This lovely, small hotel was well located in Georgetown. The room was nice, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The service from all staff was exceptional. They attended to every detail to make our stay a great one!
Response: Dear Ms. Morin: Thank you for your kind review of our hotel, much appreciated! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance in the meantime. Sincerely, Gabor L. Vida Managing Director Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Response: Dear Addison, Thank you for your kind review of our hotel, much appreciated! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance in the meantime. Sincerely, Gabor L. Vida Managing Director Rosewood Washington, D.C.

Doyle: what do users think?

Kathryn Corselius: My friend and I just tried this bar for the first time, and we had a great time! It's beautifully decorated and lots of windows give a great view of Dupont Circle. Service was fast, and the food and cocktails were delicious. Food + drinks are on the pricier side, but the experience was worth the splurge for us.

Taeetheproducer: First, let me start by saying WOW! When I first walked into this place, I felt as if I had stepped on a 70's film set. The decor, the music, the cutlery, AMAZING! Secondly, the service from the moment I walked in made me feel as if I was just going downstairs to my living room with some friends. The staff were all so friendly and professional, but not too uptight as to make you feel uncomfortable. I'm no white-collar professional, so it's good to get a little of both. They were very polite in asking for our vaccination cards, and even made a joke to make the request more fun. Thirdly, the general manager Hicham stopped at my table and checked on me and my guest to ensure we were having a great time. Even when he was running around doing 3 jobs at once, he never made us feel like asking a question would inconvenience him. STELLAR! Finally, my guest (who was my brother) absolutely loves bourbon. So naturally, he ordered a manhattan. His reaction was priceless. He could literally taste every ingredient, equally balanced. Needless to say he ordered a few more. I'm not a big drinker, so I naturally gravitated to the food. Good lord. The quinoa salad with feta and chicken was outstanding. So fresh and so clean! If you've gotten this far, congratulations. PLEASE pay this place a visit.

Brenna Holmes: Nice chill vibe, with a decently curated spirits menu. Wine list leaves something to be desired and the service could have been better. But overall it's always a reliable and relaxing choice to grab a nice drink.

Michael Corey: Nice bar and outdoor patio next to Dupont Circle. Interesting historical lecture series hosted by Prof. Smith & Doyle's.
Response: Thank you for the 5-star review. We're pleased to learn you enjoyed your evening at Doyle. We hope to welcome you again soon. Regards, Julian Enright Senior Bar Manager

Sarah Abay: I have been going to Doyle bar for a quite a while more than 10 years. Very classy and pleasant place. Service is the best but lately I don't know who is in charge the music is so loud and the choice of music is more like a club and doesn't go with the bar style. I have known this place perfect for meeting and working very chill gathering the music is changing the mood.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your recent visit to Doyle. The guest experience is of the utmost importance to us, thus feedback like yours is greatly appreciated as our team strives to deliver a memorable experience. As a valued guest, I would welcome the chance to speak with you further and invite you back to allow us the opportunity to make amends for your recent experience. We hope to see you again soon. Justin Leach: The servers were very friendly but 4-5 different people visited my table through the night, I wasn’t sure who my server was and who was just there to refill waters because everyone seemed to be switching roles. Even the host refilled my wine. They weren’t even too busy. I never got my salad, which in my situation was fine because I wasn’t too hungry anyway and really just wanted a couple drinks but normally would not be okay, and when I asked for the desert menu it took 20 minutes because they apparently only had one copy and all the tables were sharing it. Again, very friendly but confusing service. Can’t speak to the food because I never ended up getting mine.
Response: Thank you for sharing feedback on your recent experience at Doyle. While we're pleased to learn you found our staff to be friendly, we are disappointed to learn we felt short on delivering a memorable experience. Please know I have shared your comments with our team to ensure the high service standards we have set for our team are consistently upheld. Should your travels bring you back to Doyle, please let me know so I can personally ensure we have the opportunity to make amends for your recent experience. Alyssa Miller: I usually love the Doyle however - after over a month of not setting foot in the establishment I was charged over $85.00. Let me be clear - I have not lost my card, it has been in my possession the entire time. It has been impossible to get this resolved and incredibly disappointing in that the likely cause of this was a staff member running my card information and pocketing the money. My goal has been reversed and that has been not only incredibly difficult to do - I have been promised call backs from the manager that have never materialized. At this point I don’t see myself ever going back to what was one of my favorite places to enjoy a drink and wonderful atmosphere and I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone because they might be stolen from.
Response: Good Afternoon, Alyssa. We are deeply concerned to learn of this issue. After further review, it appears there was a delay of charge from the credit card processing company from your original visit. A member of our team would like to be in touch to provide additional details surrounding this charge. Please be assured that credit card details are never stored in our systems. When convenient, please send us an email with your contact information so we have the opportunity to make amends for this inconvenience. Regards, Julian Enright Bar Manager Hello@doyle.bar

Lina G: The best spot to kill your vibes. I felt disrespected. My taste buds felt disrespected. The three days old burger buns were offensive to my very culinary enthusiastic existence. The pickle wouldn’t take in the knife or teeth. The cocktail tastes like slushy. The bartender attends to customers not in the order of first come first serve, but in the order of shades - of course white to black. The manager looks like he hit the loto making management in the midst of lack of labor in covid era. If you came in ravenous, you’ll leave mortified or else you’ve simply lost your taste. What a shame it’s in the heart of DC. Sat June 25th, 2022. 11pm

Hailey Alemán: The food is great, but considering the prices and the automatic 20% gratuity that's added (which is not mentioned on the menu and apparently applies even to parties of 1 or 2), the service needs to be way better. Ordered a glass of wine and finished it, along with my water, before my server ever came back. Someone else's server came back and filled my water glass and brought the check because my original server just walked right by me for literally 40 minutes, and literally never came back to my table despite stopping several times by other tables. Couldn't even catch her eye to get the check. I've worked in food service as well and can't imagine how you justify charging an automatic 20%, a tip for excellent service, when the service is so lacking even when there were two other servers and the place wasn't completely full. Come on guys. Again, the food is great. Maybe the service was terrible because it was an off day. Who knows.

M Whittaker: Fun office happy hour in a perfectly air-conditioned environment! Tasty drinks and snacks for all co-workers!!

The Mayflower Club: what do users think?

Prince Raassi: We have tried the restaurant during DC restaurant week. We had an early reservation @ 6:00pm practically the first people in. The services started great. The same as the beautiful food presentation. However the food itself was NICE (done get me wrong, it was nice but nothing to die for) But I want to give a lot of credit for the presentation of the food and drinks! Perfect for a date night or hanging out with the friends. Do not expect the get blown away with the food taste (at least with the restaurant week menu) but definitely will go back to try the full menu. I also wish we were told there were other cocktail options than the three on the restaurant week menu.

Faith Mitchell: I personally had a really great time here! We did come at a time where it was not extremely busy. We tried all of their specialty cocktails which were all delicious and had just the right amount of alcohol to get you where you need to be. The service was wonderful as our server was very nice and attentive. She answered all of our questions including those about the restaurant in general. We ate downstairs and got to go upstairs to view the rest of the restaurant which is beautiful. They were quick to clean our tables and ask if we needed anything. We did not try a lot of food. Our appetizer (mussels) were very good and a nice portion size. The peri peri chicken was too small in my opinion to be a shared plate. Our dessert was delicious and paired well with the final cocktail. We saw other food come out as they are definitely a show stoppy type of place. Other dishes looked delicious and like they were a good portion size. Would love to go back and try more food.

Avonlea: Saw this resturant in TikTok and I had to try it for myself while I was in the city for a couple of days. I loved the vibe of this place! Such an aesthetic. I ordered the Mayflower Spritz which was very good! I ordered truffle fries because i order them everywhere I go, and they were delicious. As an entree I got the salmon and my friend ordered the lamb. The lemon sauce that goes with the salmon was delicious! And the Brussel sprouts paired well. My friend enjoyed her lamb! Back in the day this place was the Dirty Martini and I really love the new changes! Also check out my review on TikTok @amazinggav

J J: The restaurant and its ambiance were beautiful! The pink/purple lighting and decor was very visually appealing. The menu options are unique but a bit limited. My charred branzino was missing the char and my drink was not blended well. My server had a limited English vocabulary so that led to a language barrier and ultimately a disconnect in the service delivered....😔

Nishia F: The décor and ambiance at this restaurant is very nice. It’s a great date night spot! It’s also a club. We came on a Saturday evening for dinner. We had a reservation and was seated very quickly. I ordered the Cherry Blossom Margarita, it was delicious. We decided to get the Halloumi Fries appetizer. It was okay. I’m not a huge fan of the Halloumi cheese and did not like the taste and texture much. For our main entrée, we ordered the Mixed Grill for 2. This dish was amazing and extremely filling. We could not finish it all. I highly recommend it! The meat was super tender and tasty and the prawns were nicely grilled. They do give you a lot of fries. The service we received was very good. We were extremely pleased.

Elizabeth S: Amazing food and decor. We had the best time there last weekend. The music, the staff, everything was great. I can’t wait to come back for another seafood tower

S Seymour: This is a beautiful restaurant. The atmosphere is made to celebrate and take plenty of pictures. I would just suggest that management checks and cleans the bathrooms more often. Additionally I don't recall being offered any dessert at the end of the night. The waiter was able to keep the drinks flowing, always asking for another round. And if you are an oyster eater - definitely get a dozen here. The taste was great and the presentation was also great.

Rebecca s: Actually not too bad! Great staff and good music. We went for the pub crawl on October 30th. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because they took advantage of us and kicked everyone out at 9:20. They were supposed to be open till 10pm with the pub crawl prices. To be honest I just moved here from Seattle and thought it was kinda lame over there but this was so dumb. Just change the prices once it’s 10pm. No need to lock everyone out then reopen. Anyway fun spot! Nice decorations.

Taraja Hudson: 10/10! Cute decor. The signature drinks where good!!!! All of the food was quite tasty and our server was amazing!

Patreinnah Acosta-Pelle: Recently was here for a birthday celebration. We had reservations and waited for an hour to be seated. Once seated, I must admit the ambience was amazing. When we arrived a complementary bottle of house champagne was waiting. We waited nearly 30 minutes for the waiter. We ordered appetizers and dinner. Food took so long that both came out together. Needless to say we were very upset and sent the main course back until we finished. We watched other guest get seated after us, order, eat, and leave. The house manager did the best she could and provided concessions, however COVID-19 changed the game and businesses need to realize that customers are now paying for an experience. A two hour usual restaurant experience was nearly four hours. I reached out to the management to refer them for staff training and no one followed up. With prices rising and everyone charging more, we have to be cognizant of how important customer service is and how that translates into repeat business.
Response: Hey Patreinnah! Thank you for your honest review. We strive for great customer, and want everyone to leave with an astonishing experience. Your thoughts and concerns will definitely be addressed internally. Thank you!

HEIST: what do users think?

Muzafar Umarov: Excellent bartenders. They are very professional and fast. Music is also very good here. Only bad part is that the place is small and can get packed really quick. But it has an awesome vibe. Especially on Fridays.

Kevin Orlandi: Wow! What a night! I once was lost, but then I found Heist! Place is amazing. Bartenders were slinging drinks faster than I could order them! Service with a smile is an understatement. I asked my server for a bottle and she ran so fast to get me it that she made Bo Jackson’s 40-yard dash time look slow. This establishment is the epitome of “excellence.” If I could, I’d give it ten stars!!

Monet Weldon: They give every girl/ woman free champagne (verrrry cheap nasty kind) when you come in which is nice but it's not very tasty. They have a wait usually which is confusing because it's often empty inside. The bouncers are very sweet and nice but will kick our unruly people quickly which is really good. Bartenders are rude though. Plays top 40 music usually. DJ on sundays is ok at best. The area is really small so not a lot of room to dance. They have a cheap coat check that I highly recommend because there's no where else to put your things. There are only chairs in the VIP sections so don't come here if you plan on sitting. Best thing about this place is the restrooms they are very nice and private and darkly lit and cool except it's hard to do makeup in the mirror because it's so dark but it's still nice.

Scotty ST: I liked the bouncers at the doors. They were very nice compared to most bouncers I have experienced. I had a backpack with me and they held it in a closet for me during my time at the club. They were excellent! The drinks are very pricy, the main thing I didn't love about the place. Very nice crowd, everyone was dressed nicely. The club itself in a great area and it's very clean and upscale.

Luke Armstrong: Pretty decent bar to go to if nothing else is available. The music is passable, and the theme is kind of weak (I didn't realize until my 3rd or 4th time here that it was a "jail theme"). The patrons can be creepy and/or rude. People don't really dance hard here except us, it seems.

Fouad Badaoui: One thing ruined an otherwise great time with good music, drinks and company: the women bartenders were wearing stockings and bustiers (the only things missing from the Playboy bunny outfit were the ears) while the men bartenders wore elegant polos and big boy pants. Like, where's the consistency? Either provide your female employees with attractive yet respectable work clothes, or get your male bartenders to walk around in boxer briefs and low-cut tank tops.

Paul Parsons: Heist Night Club is like being at a house party. It's a chill atmosphere and they play good music. Be sure to check out he other room....it's more than just the front entrance. I like that there is no uppity DC dress code and you can go to just hang and have fun.

Jocelyn Wolf: great DJs and super fun atmosphere! if you're looking for a fun night out Heist is a DC staple. would definitely consider hosting a private event here in the future!

Alvin: Bartender was very rude and meand. A lot of young guys but staff never on the top of that....If you want a couple of shots maybe otherwise is plenty of better spot

Kaz Okochi: Heist is a gorgeous venue for special events, has an amazing sound system, and the art is SO unique. We cater some private events there and always are excited to get to stop by. Very upscale clientele and vibe.

Nellie's Sports Bar: what do users think?

Terrell Singleton: Nellies is always a good time but they r always forcefully putting some of the girls out. The happy hour drinks r strong and the music is good. We got the wings and fries which of the three flavors(Buffalo bbq n plain) we got it was tasty. There was a long line inside to get to the upstairs patio. We decided to just stay downstairs since it wasn’t a birthday or a special occasion. They have something every nite sunday is drag brunch which is great entertainment(bingo game and performances) and good food.

Melissa Mahony: Went for the drag brunch for a bacheloretteparty and our crew had the best time!! Between food, drinks, and entertainment the staff knew how to keep their customers satisfied! Highly recommended if you are looking for a fun-filled brunch in DC!

Jake Onassis: The servers are great, but the DJ was AWFUL the last few times we've been there and only plays slow hip-hop. As a result, there's really no dancing and it kills the vibe. When we went a few years ago, it was an awesome place to dance to upbeat pop tracks. If you're looking for a fun, upbeat club, look elsewhere.

k Hall: The bar tenders were great, the security was super respectful (they deserve all the love) BUT the food was objectively nasty. The calamari was basically thickly breaded air, the tacos were tasteless and super dry, then finally the burger was just straight up nasty. I sent my burger back and after they took it they told me I could not get a refund or a replacement OR EVEN the plate I was already eating back. If I Knew I wasn’t going to get my money or a new plate back I would have suffered through the nasty burger because I already paid 14 dollars for it. I wish I took photos but I couldn’t because my plate was already taken from me! I spent over 65 dollars for very nasty food. At least the music was cool I guess.
Response: Mr or Ms Hall- it is not Nellie's policy to charge guests for food they did not eat. If you didn't enjoy your food and sent it back you shouldn't have been charged. Please contact me directly and we'll sort this out. Gm@nelliessportsbar.com

Ivania Solorzano: Average entertainment. They are based on how big your group is. We went with big group. They tell you they are paid with tips up front even when if you are waited on last. They will collect all their tips after 3 seconds of dancing then dance for 5 seconds more. Tip collecting will take up all their performance. Some will only walk around collecting all their tips and lip sing. That's all. They say come early for bunch at 1 but you'll won't eat till 3pm. We went for brunch paid $60 per person. Food was average. They ran out pretty quick. Drinks pretty pricy but lots of options. Again entertainment was average. I give 2 stars for the only girl who preformed with hype music till the end. She didn't touch any of her tips till her performance was over like a professional performer. The crowd went wild for her.

Arian Fisher: This review is for the drag brunch only. A few days ago, my bestie (first time at a drag brunch) and I traveled here for a drag brunch. When we arrived around 1 p.m., there was a rope blocking the brunch buffet so our only option was to walk upstairs (the buffet was not ready yet). Once we got upstairs, my friend and I grabbed a table and sat down. When my friend came back after getting a drink, I asked if she got the complimentary one included in our ticket price and she was told that we would get that downstairs. Then around 2 p.m., one of the queens walked around & started scanning tickets in order of the largest party size (15 people) and the parties were seated downstairs. My friend and I saw the writing on the wall (that we would probably be one of the last tables since we were a party of 2) so thankfully we met 2 other sweet girls and formed an alliance. We were seated next. Even though all the windows were open (on both floors) and fans were blowing, it was hot! Thankfully I brought my fan which helped a little. When we got downstairs, it was cramped, crowded, & dreadful because of the humidity. Shortly after, they opened up the buffet and went table by table. Then around 2:55, it was announced that they would start shortly (this was not what I expected since I had to be at the train station by 5 p.m., but it all worked out in the end). The food was pretty good, but since it was sweltering I didn't have much appetite. Now for the best part of the brunch: the queens. They were amazingly talented and I gave them as much money as I responsibly could. It's certainly not their fault that the logistics, communication, and organization were non-existent. My friend enjoyed her first drag brunch which is all that really matters to me, but I highly doubt that I will ever come back again in the summer.

Jade Jade: rude staff (people working near door at the end of the night) rude , terrible manager. I used to love to come here years ago and had a great time. from what ive heard recently it's really been downgrading rapidly in the last 6 years because of staff. last night I saw it in action, I'll never be back. don't support them until they hire people with souls!

Cole Hiser: Oh, Nellies. It's THE gay bar in DC for better or for worse. I would definitely note that it is not a dance club at night like many gay bars. People can mingle and talk over the music--if that's your vibe.

Antwan Beason: Your security denied me time to chat with the manger for nellies. His name was Wayne. I noticed that 2 of the security guards had an issue with gay men touching them. They were yelling it out loud. Not in a derogatory sense but at all. They were very upset and expressed their grievances after most of us patrons left. Noticing how they felt and my knowledge of the previous media attention I tried to bring it to managements attention. When I mentioned I wanted to speak to a manager I was ushered aggressively outside and denied any opportunity to express myself. The security company that you all continue to hire is homophobic and is connected to previous events. I personally foresee another interaction if something isn’t done. The sheer fact they blocked me from so waking m and pushed me outside after I said I wanted to chat with the manager is problematic. Then he said oh he don’t wanna talk to you. lol in my experience you all should’nt continue in that exclusive mentality or it will lead to your conclusion. Thank you Antwan Beason

Shana Bayton: Amazing place to hang out and vibe, great drinks, fun bartenders, lots of seating. Especially enjoyed the rooftop area, very nice!
