National Mall: what do users think?

Warman Hall: It is simply amazing to be in one spot where you can take a Sunday stroll around a beautiful lake and blooming orchard of trees while seeing some of the most important and stunning monuments in the world! I only wish I had more time on my visit to simply walk around and take in the sights. I got to visit mid-morning on a Thursday in early March so the crowds were not bad at all.

Gee Queue: They do a pretty good job of maintaining the grounds despite the best efforts of the populace to screw them up. The scale of some of the monuments is difficult to comprehend until you are there in person. I recommend a night tour. They are much more stunning when lit up.

Leilani-Z: Full day of exercise and definitely could spend more days here. We parked at a nearby parking garage, and by the time we got back to the car at the end of the day, we had logged 9 miles. Beautiful and clean, so much to see and learn about. We went to almost all of the monuments and two of the museums. The ice cream / food trucks are great, but the music they play should be banned 🙈

Nikkicole8890: My boyfriend took me here for my first time in DC and I loved it! It was so beautiful and I really enjoyed walking around and seeing all of the monuments and statues! I would love to go back again one day!

Ashok Patel: National Mall is not a “Shopping Mall”. It is a National Park containing iconic monuments and memorials of some of the greatest people and events who shaped America as a nation. This is called the front yard of America and a symbol of democratic values. This is a green lush park between United States Capitol building to Potomac River. Every citizen of US should visit and explore these incredible memorials like Lincoln Memorial, MLK Jr Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Washington Monument, World War 2 Memorial and the list goes on and on. Park rangers offer variety of programs and activities free of charge, otherwise you can explore and enjoy the park in your way and pace. It’s lawns and pathways are mostly crowded by school children, joggers and visitors and tourists from all over the world. This is where the history is made and witnessed. The American forefathers and heroes are honored here who paid ultimate sacrifice for the country. This is the national stage where people gather and movements take place and their voices heard. Everyone should wander here in the tree-lined pathways and take in the scenery and history of America. There is lot of walking involved. This is open 24 hours and you can visit during anytime and enjoy the different beauty at different times.

Joe Hughes: This was our first time in Washington DC. First 3 days it was very hot and humid but over all we had a great vacation. The National Mall was interesting having everything pretty close together in walking distance. It was even more beautiful at night. We are glad that we went.

scott bowman: The museums are always great to visit. Masks are required in all museums, and there are bag checks at all of them, too. There are not many water fountains and no water bottle filling stations in the museums we visited. Hand sanitizing stations are available. There are plenty of food vendors/ food trucks around the Mall. This Is Not A Shopping Mall. This is the strip from the Capitol Building to the Lincoln Memorial, called The Mall.

DC by Foot: what do users think?

Sindys Tavarez: My boyfriend and I took two tours in DC, and Colin’s one (Georgetown) was our favorite. He was very knowledgeable and knew his stuff. It was a mix of architecture and history which was perfect for us, because I’m into architecture/arts and my boyfriend is into history/politics. We loved it.

Joseph Neidenbach: My wife and I took the Georgetown by Foot Tour led by Rebecca. Rebecca did a great job. She was knowledgeable, energetic, friendly and a great representative of our nations capital. I highly recommend this tour. The two hour walk was comfortable. We will take one of these tours the next time we are in DC.

David Matsu: When my wife and I visit new cities we like to take the local "Free Walking Tours." We took the National Mall/Tidal Basin tour with Rebecca and were not disappointed. She took us on a three hour walk, in the rain, and told us all about the history of the monuments. She was well informed, able to answers all questions and taught us a lot. I encourage travelers to take advantage and support the "free tours" especially with a guide like Rebecca.

Lani Slonim: This tour is well planned and well timed and was given by a guide who was personable and knew her history. Ingeborg had fun antidotes and stories that enhanced the understanding of the area in an enjoyable way. Thank you for your efforts!

Jenay Rouimi: We did two great Name Your Price Tours while in Washington - 2 adults and (1) 9 year old. We started with the Arlington Cemetery Tour with Colin and it was excellent. This tour does involve a lot of walking but I highly recommend it. While Arlington does have the trams, I think this tour provides a much more up close (and far less crowded) viewing. Colin was extremely knowledgeable, and he kept us all entertained and informed. We also did the Name Your Price Tour of the Monuments by Moonlight with Emilia. It was an unseasonably cold March night, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The monuments were far less crowded then we expected, and the night time view is spectacular and far different from day time. I highly recommend experiencing both ways. Emilia had so much interesting information on the monuments that I have never heard before and I feel much more well rounded and “in the know”.

Elaine Limanek: My friend and I went to the Ghosts of Georgetown tour and we have nothing but good things to say! Our tour guide, Melissa, was charismatic and led us on a thrilling adventure through the streets of Georgetown, where we learned about the history and haunts of the most charming corner of DC. We truly loved every minute and will certainly be back again!

Old Town Trolley Tours Washington DC: what do users think?

Natalia Mednikov: This tour was amazing! The guide was full of knowledge. Don’t miss out. A 1,5 hour tour that goes by fast. We stopped off to see some very impressive and important monuments. I cannot say enough about the beautiful and well planned tour. It was a perfect experience. All the staff who work for this company are very friendly.

Quynh Tran: Mike G. (From Boston) was the best tour guide I’ve ever had. He was very knowledgeable and knew everything. I he was like a human google of Washington DC (or history in general)! It was a little chilly but it was a great start to DC and knowing the general areas before the rest of your trip. Our guide was very accommodating and left no man behind. Highly recommend!

Laura Oliver: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueMoonlight trolley tour is fabulous! If you are short on time in DC and want to see a lot and hear a lot about the city, this is your best bet! We booked our school tour through Abe in group sales who made everything so easy! Hollywood was our tour guide and was awesome! Definitely the highlight of our visit!

Susie Anson: Hey **Mr. History" , best driver ever. So beautiful by night. And re-learning great American history while seeing gorgeous memorial at night ... Not to be missed Fall is the best to walk around and tour. 😉

Donna Hensley: I wish there were 5 more stars I could give Old Town Trolley! The personalized narration by knowledgeable, friendly drivers are always the rule.

Signature Tours Of DC: what do users think?

Lissa H: Tyrone and Hunter were great tour guides, very friendly and helpful. Tyrone was knowledgeable and interjected a lot of humor into the tour. We had plenty of time to get off the bus and take pictures of the different memorial sights. The water that was available when we got back on the bus was very welcome. I highly recommend taking this trip, it was enjoyable and we learned a lot. Very much worth the cost.

Debbie DelValle: First night in DC, decided to try a monuments tour under the stars. Signature Tours offered hotel pick up and drop off which was an added bonus. Thanks to the very knowledgeable and personable Sally and our excellent driver Chris, the 3 hour tour was time very well spent. I would highly recommend this tour.

Andrew Harmon (Werd69): This tour was on point. We met the bus at 800 Pennsylvania Ave NW no problem. We were loaded on a big tour bus. Our tour guide name was Charles. He was fantastic. He knew so much, I thought he was a retired teacher. We got to see quite a few monuments. When they say 3 hours they mean 3 hours. We got our monies worth and then some. Definitely do this tour if possible.

Emily Ferguson: We did the DC Under the Stars and it was incredible. Sally, our guide, was funny and engaging, and included such interesting info about DC and had a clear speaking voice. Chris, our driver, was also great. Would highly recommend this tour-and during the Spring, everything is simply stunning! Perfect combination of photo ops, history, humor, as well as moments to reflect and remember some of our nation’s most sobering events. The only downside to the tour was that the man loading us onto the bus was terribly rude and gruff for some reason. Also, there is no hotel pickup so plan to get transportation to the National Archives and make sure to arrive early.

Melissa Coulter: Absolutely the BEST DC tour! Fun and so knowledgeable! The kind of tour that you always hope you book! I highly recommend MR.MAP!

Melanie Williamson: My grandson and I had a wonderful tour of DC from Signature Tours. The guide, Dave, pointed out almost every downtown building, history and fun facts. Arriving at the momuments via the bus was perfect! Chris, the driver, safely took us from one location to another. Our 6-hour tour allowed us to see and experience much more than we could have if we had walked.

jen zappulla: I did the all day tour and Vernon and Chris were amazing! Vernon was so knowledgeable about the monuments and had side stories that added to the richness of what we were seeing. Chris maneuvered that bus like a boss, finding alternate routes due to closures and construction. I would highly recommend!!

Historic America: what do users think?

Joseph Eakle: Visited Washington DC with a family group of 9. We had the pleasure of spending 6 hours with Aaron for 2 different tours. We did a nighttime Whitehouse Neighborhood/Monument tour and a day time monument tour. We never would have covered as much ground and learned as much as we did without Aaron. He kept everyone engaged, from the adults to my 4 year old daughter. I can’t say enough about him and the tours. They were the highlight of our trip to DC!

Evelyn Avanesian: Aaron is a spectacular guide. Fun, funny, and so knowledgeable. He kept our 8th graders engaged and well organized. Would definitely do a trip with him again! Even having lived in DC for over a decade, I saw and learned things I never knew.

Tarm: Aaron took us on a 5 day trip through Washington D.C with around 25 kids. He was able to keep everyone engaged, and was able to avoid all the lines. Aaron is a great guy, super funny and very entertaining. Super knowledgeable, and had everything ready for us. Made sure we were well informed, and cared for each one of us. Our tour was awesome, visited many spots, and made sure we had the best experience. Would definitely recommend Aaron to anyone who wants a fun, entertaining and great trip!

Jessica Harrington: My husband and I attended the Sunrise Cherry Blossom Tour today and it was the perfect way to start our Sunday morning. If you want an inspiring and educational experience complete with stunning views WITHOUT the crowd and traffic, then this is it.

Gabrielle Chambliss: Aaron was a blast to have on our 6th grade trip to Washington. He was very knowledgeable and interacted with the kids. His planning of our 4 days made everything so much easier and we saw a lot! Will definitely book with him again!

Each 1 Teach 1 Foundation: Our tour guide Aaron was with us for 4 days and was phenomenal! Not only was he knowledgeable and very personable but he also was patient with our group of 61 and flexible throughout the tours. We will be rebooking him in a different city in the near future!

Megan Miller: When I was planning our family trip to Washington DC, I researched tour guides. I interviewed five and picked Aaron. He accompanied us for 2 half days visiting the sites we had identified as important. He customized his approach and content for our group, our ages, and our interests. He never ran out of content and his delivery was warm, engaging, and so interesting. He shares information through telling stories and his level of knowledge is astounding. Our time with him thoroughly enriched our trip and I could not recommend him any more highly than I am. He is a 10 and will exceed your expectations.

Ashley Alderfer: I have had the pleasure of experiencing 2 tours with Historic America, and both were fantastic! Aaron is a smart, engaging guide with a vast knowledge of history and a passion for his craft. He is a master story teller, and goes above and beyond to provide a rich and immersive experience. Living in Washington, it is easy to become complacent about the history that surrounds you, but Aaron is able to bring the city to life, crafting an experience that connects you with the history of the place but is also personal and intimate. I’d recommend his tour to anyone visiting Washington looking for an enriching gateway not just to the city, but to our national history.

USA Guided Tours: what do users think?

Rebekah Diaz: Did the night tour with Mr Map! It was great to stop at so many places and take photos. I do wish that the tour guide would have come off the bus to tell us about the different landmarks instead of staying on the bus. It was beautiful to see all the monuments lit up—different than the daytime sights. We chose the closed climate controlled instead of open top because it was rather cold at night (in late April!)! Would recommend.

Vanessa Losey: Thanks for making my dad bday that much more memorable! My dad a senior citizen and the pace was perfect for him, including all the bathroom breaks and patience. Thank you Terry for a tour to remember and for signing to my dad happy birthday!!! Memories to last a lifetime. His service dog loved it too!!!

Teresa Simmons: We took the DC tour on Sunday. Nick was our guide. The tour was a great way to see the sights and learn interesting facts. Nick loves his job and it shows! He was funny and informative! Highly recommend Nick and the 6 hour DC day tour. We had and amazing time!!

Suzanne: We took the dusk to dark, open top bus tour, and it was well worth it! The small group allowed for a much more personalized experience. It was obvious to us that our guide, Nick, truly enjoys his job, and that adds to the experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor, all of which added up to a very comfortable, enjoyable tour! He made it feel like we had a long time friend showing us the many sites. Definitely recommend this tour!

Bianca Moskaitis: Nick the @tourgod was one of the most amazing tour guides I’ve ever experienced! His knowledge and charisma made us feel so comfortable. He kept us laughing and on time! He was just a delightful and I’m so glad we got to experience him today! The Mercedes’ sprinter is a beautiful site to see while traveling down Constitution ave and Pennsylvania ave. Such a luxurious site to see🎉🎊 I’m so excited to take another tour with them in the spring! Here are come Loudoun VA wine country 🍷

Tricia Barr: We had a fabulous experience with Alicia as our tour guide and Thomas as our driver. We enjoyed a very informative 6-hour tour with Potomac River cruise. The best compliment was given by my ten year old daughter who is often reluctant to join historical and sight-seeing tours and would far prefer a spring break at a theme park. She said, “I learned so much about my country and I loved learning about all of the hidden meanings of the monuments.” As a parent, I was so happy that she loved the symbolism and significance of all that DC had to offer! Thank you to Alicia for your positive energy and sharing your extensive knowledge of our Nation’s capital!

Shari S: Nick and our driver were awesome. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommend. I took borh the day and the night tour with this company. I highly recommend using this tour company. Parking can be a little difficult and further away then the tour can get you. I am so glad I signed up for these tours. I will make sure to let everyone I know going to any city they service to use them.

Joseph McIntyre: Originally scheduled the daytime tour with the riverboat cruise. Had to change due to flight delays and a mix up with rental cars. They were very accommodating and allowed us to switch the tour last minute to the night tour. Our tour guide, Nick was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Thanks so much for the memories!

Lisa Hayes: Great tour that I would highly recommend. Curtis was our driver and nick was our tour guide. Very knowledgeable and had plenty of time at all the stops. They had just taken down the fences at the capitol so we were able to go on the lawn. We did the night tour and they picked us up at our hotel which was perfect since I had just had some foot surgery and walking was difficult. Would recommend this tour to everyone and Great price.

See DC Today: what do users think?

branmorris21: Best way to start our DC vacation. Kareem navigated the streets with ease. And Steve was very informative on everything we were touring. They both were easy to talk to and answered all our questions without a boring explanation. The night was clear and not too busy for the beginning of the holiday weekend. Highly recommend this small group night tour. The price is worth it. Loved it. Thanks guys.

Stephanie Matthews: Booked the night tour for the first evening we were in Washington DC. We arrived at meeting place to be greeted by our driver as well as the tour guide. What a wonderful informative experience for my party of three. We appreciated the small group individuality. The driver Kareem as well as tour guide Andrew Evans took the time to answer all questions for my nine year one grandson. They were very cautious when driving, provided water, device charging, and gave so much info at each stop. They allowed plenty of time to explore and even took photos of guest in front of the sites. The tour lasted over 3 hours. The tour guide would walk around with each small group etc., while the driver waited close by ready for pick up. Very impressed with details provided including personal stories and his love for his job and each monument. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting a tour of DC.

Andyrea Mahon: Cassie and Kareem were absolutely the best guide/driver we could have asked for! So knowledgeable about all the monuments. Cassie relayed information in an exciting and engaging way. I wish she could narrate all of our time in DC! They had cold water for us throughout. Kareem even went and got more ice cold water for our group when we ran low. We learned so much and didn’t want it to end. I would 100% recommend See DC tours!

Chaz Arnold: My wife and I cannot say enough good things about this tour. First of all, the small group size provides an engaging, intimate experience that is much unlike many of the other tours we witnessed during our excursion. The driver, Kareem, was knowledgeable about the city and one of the most genuine people you will ever meet. Our guide, Kassie, was spectacular; she communicated a lot of information about the sights. On several occasions, she answered questions we had about the monuments as if she were reading our minds. Very entertaining. Seeing DC monuments lit up at night is an experience unlike any other. The travel van was comfortable and the provided water were much appreciated. Finally, we appreciated the dinner recommendation made by our guide following the tour. This experience was well worth the time and money.

Heidi McQuade: Ron and Edrick were fantastic! There is no way we would have seen as much as we did in the little time we were here, and we are very appreciative of their knowledge. I would highly recommend See DC Today to anyone sightseeing, especially for first timers. Note: there is still quite a bit of walking and being on your feet because you leave the van at every stop.

Shari N: Great tour! The small group format made for a fun, personal experience. Steve was a fun and knowledgeable tour guide and Edrick got us around town safely with a great sense of humor. I highly recommend this tour.

J D: The hop on hop off night tour was amazing! Dustin was knowledgeable and was funny too! No way we would have seen all these sights on our own. Would highly recommend!

John Maty: Though the longest day of year; party of 6 totally enjoyed tour. Picked this company based on STOPs at best Monuments vs others that do driveby. Prompt pickup. Our driver Dustin had a wealth of information not only of the various Monuments but other Washingtonian tidbits.

Ki Anna: The Best tour out there. Larry was an awesome driver as he navigated thru DC .. and Steve was the most knowledgeable and professional tour guide ever! Will definitely do again.

Nick Myers: Amazing tour for anyone who wants a personal and fun look at the monuments of DC. Our driver Steve was professional all around and got us across the city safely, and our guide, Kory, was really fun and obviously passionate about the area’s history. I was not looking for a deeply sanitized tour with guides who sound like they’re reading off of plaques at the monuments, and fortunately that’s not what I got. I recommend this bus tour for those who like to ask deeper questions about the Capitol’s history and get immediate answers, those who want something beyond the typical tourist experience, and those who want to be truly guided through DC and its intricacies rather than simply taken to photo-ops. Excellent experience all around!

Big Bus Tours Washington DC Visitor Center: what do users think?

Delaney Gellert: Such a cool way to explore all around DC and lets you see a lot in 1-2 hours. Getting on was somewhat confusing and you might not be with your family altogether since there are not assigned spots. The audio is okay but gives you a lot of information for when you are near tourist spots. There was only one hop off spot at the Lincoln Memorial but it is not for long so its more to stretch your legs and see the bottom of the monument. I recommend going more at night time because it nice to see the sunset on DC and was a lot cooler for when you are going in the summer time :)

Kayla Kirkpatrick: Ms. Gale was a great driver and made sure we all had a safe and enjoyable trip! My parents and I loved our trip and would definitely recommend big bus if you want a scenic route around the city!

nailah morris: Love the concept of the tour! Make sure you plan accordingly so you can see all the major sights! Also listening to the headphones are a great idea they give you a lot of information! John Dickey was such a sweet fantastic driver! Overall a great experience!

Ganeshan Venkatesha: Contrary to my belief, I had best experience while making a trip between Vienna Metro and New York on 18th and 21st. I travelled in Bus for the first time in 30 years in the US. First it was very well organized. It was punctual. Inspite of many road constructional delays, the bus driver tried to maintain punctuality. I was very impressed with the driver whose name I do not know. . He is tall black very well built. He was so disciplined and professional. He never indulged in talking nor did he waste time in stops. He just stopped for 12 minutes for a single short break. Never applied breaks suddenly. The drive was so smooth at consistent speed. All in all I would prefer bus ride instead of a driving in car. The only inconvenience was that I could not reserve seats even 15 days earlier. First come first served appears good but hurts those who plan early. Hope the bus reserves at least 25% of seats for advance reservation. That would be a very good thing. Ganeshan Centreville VA

Pippela Pam: We purchased the deluxe ticket + night tour which was well worth the price. The narrators all had different levels of knowledge about DC which made for interesting rides, even if we had been by the same place. All the staff from drivers to ticket sellers were awesome! For the ticket price you can get on and off for 2 days which was a great way to get around the city. We went on the boat, Madame Tussands and the night tour which was gorgeous and loved that we all were able to use the upper deck to see the sites. We highly recommend using Big Bus tours and will definitely use again when available at other cities or when we are in DC again.

Private DC Tours, LLC: what do users think?

Kathy Walker: We had a private tour with Eshan as our guide. It was such a wonderful tour, a highlight of our trip. Our party included myself (age 46), my husband (age 49), my mother (age 73) and our daughter (age 19) and son (age 18). We chose the moonlight tour which lasted from 7-10pm. Eshan picked us up at our Airbnb and the vehicle was very nice and clean. Eshan was extremely friendly and made us feel so comfortable and by the end of the night it felt like he was a longtime friend. He was very knowledgeable about all the DC history and each location he took us to. He took wonderful pictures which were so much better then the ones my camera took so I was so thankful. He was patient with us and kept us on a good pace. He took us to the Jefferson Memorial, Air Force Memorial, Pentagon, Arlington cemetery, the fountain, Washington monument/tidal basin, the capital , library of Congress and even though it was close to our end time he knew we really wanted to see the Lincoln memorial and he went above and beyond to take us there as well. He was so amazing with us. Our kids and mom truly enjoyed our tour as well. I have a health condition where I have hard time with heat and long periods walking, by taking the night tour and with Eshan driving us to each monument was the only way I was able to see as much as we did. We are so thankful and recommend him to anyone interested in truly seeing DC without all the big tours and crowds. It was so personal and less stressful. Their cost was so reasonable compared to other private tours and quality of the tour was top notch. Also, our son left his AirPod case in the vehicle and Eshan was kind enough to bring it the next night to our Airbnb home. Again great service above the rest ! Thank you Eshan for wonderful memories my family will never forget.

Erica Widdoss: Esaan was our tour guide and he was fantastiiiiic! He has so much knowledge of the area, he had pictures and videos that he would show about the next monument or memorial we were on our way to. We got right up and close to each one. I only expected to see a few things. He went above and beyond. He took us to sooo many more places than I expected. He knows the route very well! We spent 10 to 20 minutes at each location depending on the memorial/monument. The vehicle was spacious. We had 2 adults and 3 children. Thank you so much for a great experience!! We appreciate you!

Jocelyn Cardona: Awesome tour from beginning to the end! The responses I received when I was inquiring were instantaneous; very user friendly website and the Tour guide that we had, Bruce, was the best! He was very knowledgeable, amiable and helpful. I recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a hassle free private tour.

Nellie L: Our driver was Bruce. His knowledge of history was deep. He was able to answer the questions we asked. He took us to several memorials. We were able to fit off and spend time at some of the memorials. The vehicle was very comfortable. Bruce was very professional and courteous. I recommend Private DC Tours to anyone coming to DC. The night tour of the memorials is a must!!! I especially liked we had our own tour guide versus being part of a large group on a bus.

Lauretta Suneborn: Bruce did a terrific job of navigating around DC on a Saturday during the cherry blossom festival with all the traffic and crowds! He shared stories of history with my family in the middle of intense traffic. He was cool under pressure and made it a very pleasant experience. He showed us a lot in a small amount of time! My family has lived in the area for over 30 years and Bruce had plenty to teach and remind us. We reminisced about how much the city has changed, sharing stories and laughter. We would love to tour with him again. Highly recommend!

Mat B: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueEhsan was great - very knowledgeable on all DC’s historic sites. He allowed us to customize our tour and incorporated some of his recommended points of interest as well.

Wendy Delp: Bruce was fabulous! He was knowledgeable, professional, and an all around high caliber individual. He made us feel right at home, and we hope to stay in touch. He went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. The vehicle was immaculate and very comfortable. He provided great anecdotes and historical facts, and he knew the best way to experience each site. He even tailored the tour to our interests. This was the best way to experience DC! I highly recommend this tour!

E J: After confirming pick up by text, Ehsan picked us up on time at our hotel in a clean, cool and comfortable Suburban. It was great to customize the tour to our interests. He is knowledgeable, engaging and organized. He makes good use of photographs and videos to teach about a site or monument prior to arrival at the location. The 2.5-hour afternoon tour was perfect for our two children. He even dropped us off at our restaurant reservation after the tour. Highly recommended!!

Toni Sinker-Strang: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueEshan was a great tour guide giving lots of historic information along the tour. He asked us what locations were a priority for us to see while we were in DC. I would use him again and again. He was patient and knowledgeable.

DC Military Tours: what do users think?

Thankful Mom: We took a private tour today of Arlington National Cemetery with Navy veteran Tom Schultz of DC Military Tours. WOW. What we saw, did, and learned with Tom in 3 1/2 hours we NEVER could’ve done on our own. Tom and this tour were phenomenal. It was myself, my husband, and our teen son, who stayed engaged and loved it. HIGHLY recommend DC Military Tours. We will absolutely use Tom when we bring our son back to do DC. Thank you for an amazing and unforgettable afternoon.

Holly White: We have toured Washing DC in the past with a major tour company, and I can say we had a 110% better experience with DC Military Tours. Mr. Shultz is a fabulous tour guide. We enjoyed two different tour packages through him. He genuinely cares about what you wish to see and do. Mr. Schultz’s knowledge base is remarkable!

Charlie Salgado: Tom was absolutely amazing, completely catered/scheduled our tour based on what we were interested in seeing and weather conditions and had some awesome recommendations along the way. Tom kept it very interesting for the kids by keeping them engaged with age appropriate questions, stories, and interesting facts. He was able to answer all of our completely random questions along the way. Tom’s passion for American History is evident and made it fun for all. Tom also had many awesome suggestions for photo ops along the way, and was able to capture some amazing family pictures for us. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Maura Flint: Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueHad the opportunity to have Tom as our guide through Alexandria. His narrative and command of facts as well as his engaging story telling made for a wonderful experience. Definitely would take another tour soon.Services: Private tours, Group tours

Brittany Chapman: We reviewed a couple companies and settled on this one due to their flexible options and best pricing. Tom (our guide) was AWESOME! We weren’t sure what to expect but he was great- the tours he provided were top notch every single place we decided to go. He was fun to talk to and knew all the insider scoop stuff to give us the best experience in a short amount of time. Not only did he exceed expectations but he even took the time to help us plan our following day’s activities and give us tips and suggestions. We met us at Arlington, provided ice cold bottled water while he drove us to our destinations in his super clean and comfortable SUV with ease. GET this tour, we did the 6 hour and it was the highlight of our time in DC. You WONT regret it! Thanks so much!

Krista Stark: Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityTom is a fantastic storyteller and really paints the mental picture of the historical events he brings to life on his tours.

Big Bus Tours Washington DC: what do users think?

C.B. Ballew: Loved the Night Tour! Pick a day when the weather is in the low 70’s - it was perfect! The driver was really nice and helpful. The route the bus takes is organized so that you see a Georgetown and buildings that you need to see in the light before the sun goes down. Then you travel to the Lincoln Memorial and the Reflecting Pool as night falls. Perfect!! Take this tour - no downsides at all.

Ashley Beth: Fabulous tour and a really fun and informative way to see the DC area! The signage and pickup locations were clearly marked so we knew right where to go (to get on the bus and at any of the drop-off points as well). They had headphones for our family of five and the info on the narration was interesting, relevant, and entertaining. The bus departed on time and returned on time. Ms. Gale was an outstanding tour guide and she knew all the fun, quirky tidbits of information that made our night tour of the DC area extra special. Highly recommend!

Holli Allen Magill: What a fabulous experience. These friendly and very accommodating people really go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience. Frederick was so kind and helpful.. Our bus driver even dropped us right at our hotel! Thanks for a great time, definitely recommend this tour.

Jamie Lowe: We had a 2 day pass and evening tour. All experiences were great! Highly recommend evening tour. A beautiful glimpse of the city and all its landmarks. Staff was friendly and helpful. Gregory at Spy Museum stop was super friendly and entertaining. A shout out to Romero who remembered my grandson at every stop he saw us…both days! Romero made him feel like he had a friend in an unfamiliar place. Great experience for us!

Miranda: I bought the Groupon that included hop on and hop off for 48 hours and a night ride tour! Worth every penny! Easy to use. You go to one of the stops to have them print your tickets and then you can start riding. Download the app because you can see where the buses are in real time. We waited on more than 20 minutes at a stop for another bus to arrive. The bus wasn’t crowded at all. They supply headphones to listen to a recording about the monuments as the bus passes them. The night tour was awesome!! Easiest way to see the parts outside of Washington DC such as the pentagon, Georgetown, downtown Arlington. Be sure to tip your driver!! 💵

Greg Burkett: Vida was a great tour guide on our bus. She took family photos of us and gave us tips when asked of DC food and sites.

Alisha Lynch: Everyone riding requires a ticket and if your child is under 42” then you have to ride with them. Tickets are $3.50 so not bad. It is about a 3 minute ride. My daughters both had fun and really enjoyed riding!

Pika Fusion: A good place to rest with kids before moving on with your walks around Washington DC. There is a huge plane of grass to rest on.

Sultan Chaudhry: Barry was a great tour guide, very professional and knowledgeable. Had a great time seeing the sights quickly since we were pressed for time with our trip to DC. Definitely helped out being in a golf cart with little kids since it was a hot day in the summer.

Abby Fife: Joel was an amazing tour guide. He was well prepared and knowledgeable. He knew the answer to anything we asked and was extremely patient with my very inquisitive 11-year-old.

Rona Harari: We booked a private monuments tour for our 3 generations party of 7 and had the best time! Our tour guide was funny and very knowledgeable and was patient with both kids and grandparents. We booked via urban adventures website and had wonderful service start to finish!

Paula Jasinski: Our group recently took the Drinking History tour and loved it! We’d been to DC many many times before but Bo told us stories we’d never heard before. He also took us to places that we’d somehow overlooked. Great history, hysterical stories, and a slew of drinks- what more could you ask for? Do yourself a favor and sign up for one of these tours! P

Becky Trullinger: My family took the Arlington Cemetery walking tour last weekend. Bo’s knowledge of it’s history and story telling was fantastic. His Southern charm and sense of humor kept us spellbound and entertained. Just wish we had time to take all of his tours.

Lyndsay Sims: Such a wonderful experience! Bo, was informative, engaging and interactive with our group. I learned a lot of fun and interesting facts about DC. I would highly recommend this tour!

Cláudio Antônio Klaus Júnior: I had a fantastic tour with Emilia. She was super knowledgeable of the area and that made all the difference. I enjoyed it very much. The website describes it well, you basically walk around all the monuments and have a nice explanation about each of them. It ends at Lincoln Memorial, a big highlight. Other than the usual historic explanations you may also hear some of the possible theories regarding one thing or another, which I thought added a lot of fun to the tour. I did it on a Monday evening and we had some rain in the first few minutes - Highly recommend it!

Shawna Mcclurg: Highlight of the trip! We had Becca and she was great. This was very informative and was a nice easy stroll around the tidal basin to view the cherry blossoms and the monuments in the area. We got very lucky with our timing and got to see most of the cherry blossoms start to bloom.

Karmen Aghajanian-Parks: I took 2 tours from this company: tour of the National Mall and tour of the Capitol. I loved our guides on both tours Becca and Rebecca! Both were knowledgeable and fun. I highly recommend both tours.

Philip Cantore: The best walking tour of the Freedom Trail, hands down! Brian was entertaining and engaging while completely immersing the group is US history! The time flew by too quickly (2+ hours) and left us wanting more! Excellent tour guide!

Sofia Perez Wolfes: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ValueOur guide Eli was extremely passionate about the stories he was telling us, and his explanations were great. Even on the coldest day he was smiling and giving us the best energy while doing an amazing tour. I definitely recommend this and will do it again next time in DC.

Stephen Balza: Did the Monuments and Moonlight tour with Eli last night. He had his work cut out for him with 4th of July fencing all along the mall but he navigated us neatly through to the sights. Our two hours went by swiftly and we thoroughly enjoyed the views and historical insights he offered. The pace was comfortable and free time was allotted to explore and take pics at each location. The only caveat is that there is traffic noise (car and air) as well as sirens, etc that may make hearing difficult. If you are in a big group, stay close to the guide.

Elisabeth Guevara: Positive: QualityExcellent tour by Canden about the historic Georgetown. She was easy to hear and learned so much about the community. We would definitely recommend a tour with them and join them again

Missi R: Positive: ProfessionalismWe did Capitol Hill Highlights walking tour on August 16th . Ingeborg, was out guide, very knowledgeable and emphatic. Love the tour.

Paul Kopulos: This was the first ghost tours my daughter and I have taken. Not only did we learn about the ghosts that were/are haunting Georgetown, we also learned of the wonderful history of this amazing city. Melissa was so much fun to be with and very (VERY) knowledgeable about the city and the wonderful ghosts that reside there. Although we did not see any spirits, we left knowing that they are in good hands with Melissa and Free Tours by Foot DC. I cannot wait to visit other cities (domestic and international) and take the tours there as well. Service: Group tours
