Bosede: I have been learning piano 2017. Miss Jacqueline Banks has been a great teacher to me and has taught me on the piano. Everyone is very nice and I have people to talk to. Various music skills are taught to students. The director only hires certified people. If you want your child to master an instrument come here.
Ruth Birhanu: The Conservatory is a prefect place to get music lessons. My sons have been learning piano from the Conservatory of Arts with Ms. Jacqueline Banks since 2015. They started with summer camp and then continued with private piano lessons. She is a wonderful teacher who is very patient while teaching kids. My sons love her private lessons. They have improved a lot through the past 5 years. When I hear them playing the piano, it makes me happy and proud of my sons.
Ketaki Jain: My family has been learning piano from Jacqueline Banks at the National Conservatory of Arts for about 3 years now and LOVE her. My son started with her when he was 2 years old. He is almost 5, getting really good and still loves her classes. I started more recently. Jacqueline has seemingly infinite patience with the little ones, but also has a knack for knowing how to change course with lesson plan to keep them engaged and learning. With me, she has challenged me to learn pieces I would never expected to be able to play. It’s been an eye opener for me and really fun! I highly recommend their program!

Ms. Jacqueline is an excellent teacher who is very patient. Even when Covid made in-person learning impossible, Ms. Jacqueline pivoted to online without missing a beat. Angelica Norman-Beltran: Hi highly recommend the National Conservatory of Arts to anyone, especially adultsz who are interested in learning how to play the piano. I started group adult lessons prior to th COVID Pandemic and meet Jacqueline Banks through my cousin who had started taking lessons in 2019. Group lesson rates are very reasonably priced and Jackie is great at encouraging students to find their own spin on songs we want to learn. When the pandemic limited in person classes, NCA was really quick at changing how lessons were done, switching to a virtual one-on-one format, which has worked out really well!

Whether it is piano, script writing, acting or stage set creations we have seen them develop their skills and perform with joy. The instructors at Quartertonez are revered by them. Most importantly, even though they are challenged, they have fun with these fabulous talented teachers. Our family also wants to applaud Quartertonez for the way they have adjusted to the “new normal” that we have all had to live with because of COVID 19. Quartertonez never missed a beat, or a note. Iman Mostafa: I’ve recently begun taking oud lessons with Fuad, and have been really impressed by the commitment and care he puts into our sessions. Fuad is very patient, conscientious, and does all he can to ensure that our lessons are productive and enjoyable. Julie Blum: A little more than two years ago, I decided I wanted to learn to play the Oud. I had no prior experience with the instrument and I was delighted to find Fuad, the founder of Qurtertonez who was willing to teach me. He teaches the stories behind the music, not just the notes. He is so patient and fun and passionate about music. He imparts culture and is dedicated to music as a vehicle for soothing the spirit. This doesn’t mean his standards aren’t high. They are very high, and I am proud of what I have learned and the skill I have developed! Qaurtertonez promotes community and teaches music in the process. Great school!!!

Lisa Jamison: A great learning experience! Being a beginner piano student, the training I received from Mr. Dudley was great especially since I didn’t know my way around the piano. He is very patient and thorough. I definitely would recommend this studio for all your musical ambitions!

Lamia Matta: My 5-year old daughter loved taking ukulele classes with Mr. Dudley. After only a few classes, she became very enthusiastic about playing music. The classes also gave her a lot of confidence. Mr. Dudley is super kind and has a very very nice manner. I highly highly recommend the school.

Alex Navarro: Great classes for the preschool and toddler set. Our playgroup loved the outdoor Covid compliant classes with Mr. Mike. He was always on time and very engaging with the kids, even when they didn’t always cooperate. The kids loved all the different instruments and scarves he brought to every lesson. Hope is also very responsive. She has been wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend Tunes 4 Tots to anyone. It’s been especially great to add some normalcy during this time for our little people.

Lindsay Glaser: We just finished an 8 week series of music classes with Tunes 4 Tots and it was a wonderful experience! I’m a first time mom and was looking for an activity that was engaging and age-appropriate for my 3 month old. We organized a group of 6 families and rotated homes for class each week. It was a blast watching all of our babies grow together, but the best part was Miss Hope! Hope’s bubbly and energetic personality makes each class so much fun, all 6 babies were in love with her! My son’s favorite part of class was playing with the different musical instruments. (I especially appreciated how clean all of the instruments were.) My favorite part of class was all the unique and catchy songs that Hope introduced us to. They are still stuck in my head! I would highly recommend Tunes 4 Tots!

Christina Malekiani: We have had a wonderful experience with both of our children and LIYH. We have been clients since before covid and have been impressed with their rapid changes in protocols for covid that were simultaneously so smooth and made for easy transitions for the kids. After also taking a hiatus from one instrument for one child, LIYH was so helpful in transitioning that child back to another instrument and with a different coach that was an even better fit. Heather is extremely professional and proactive and an excellent communicator. She listens well to what each family and child needs and guides appropriately with her recommendations and seems to be spot on. Joseph has been absolutely amazing with our daughter on guitar—one of the most patient, kind teachers we have seen and knows how to keep her motivated and excited. She loves him and can’t wait for lessons each week with him! Nicole has been wonderful on piano with our son and knows how to challenge him appropriately while still keeping him encouraged. We have been extremely pleased with LIYH and will continue to work with them as long as our kids keep enjoying playing an instrument.

James Hurwitz: Without reservation, Middle C Music deserves the highest possible recommendation. They did a superb job of cleaning up and giving an overall tune-up to my antique guitar and repairing my antique mandolin. In the process, I saw how the staff at Middle C —Nick, Tom, Dave and Hillary — interacted not just with me but customers and students of all ages and abilities. What I appreciated most was their low key manner and the pleasure they took in enhancing the joy that others got from their instruments, music, and lessons. This is truly an excellent music store.

Joma A Washirapunya: International School of Music is a great school for any type of music class. My daughter has been doing a virtual class for a year now. Despite it’s still being online, she still learns a lot. Her piano teacher (Junie K.) is very knowledgeable and helps her with the fundamentals and makes sure she understands everything about playing the piano. The staff is helpful and quick to respond to all my questions. I am happy that we enrolled her at ISM.

macfawlty: The teachers and instructors are very talented. Bach2Rock is such a unique experience for kids who want to learn music, even more so if they want to join others in a band, which many are encouraged to do. They offer bands many opportunities to play during the course of the year in small venues. The Battle of the Bands is an all day event with different age categories from little ones to adults reliving their youth through music. The summer programs are a great way to introduce kids to a week of music where they record a CD and have a band performance after just 5 days. My son has been going to B2R for 4 or 5 years now.

Now, thanks to the guidance of several fantastic teachers, I have had over the years, and to my effort, I am playing some nice pieces, and I can read music. I am very satisfied with my progress. Stopping at the desk and asking about lessons for adults, like me, was a great decision.
Mary O'Neill-Wood: My child has taken voice and guitar at Bach to Rock, Bethesda and it has been so beneficial. The teachers are patient, friendly and challenge their students to do their very best. My child has NO stage fright and is completely confident with performing.
Anuraag Pendyal: Do not enroll in music lessons at Bach to Rock. As a former instructor there, I can attest that the curriculum is full of errors, the instructors and administrators are largely incompetent, and the meager wage paid to the staff is entirely exploitative. There are more than enough qualified private and affiliated music instructors in the DMV area for you or your child to receive a quality music education. At Bach to Rock you will only waste your money and time, and possibly even damage your child’s musical development. The directors of this company should be ashamed of themselves for attempting to pass this exploitative, profit-driven scheme as music education. An added note that illuminates just how disingenuous this company is: there is no Bach in their “curriculum.” Bach to Rock is like if you had a restaurant called Sandwiches and Coffee, but only sold really terrible, stale instant coffee.
Response: We base our method of music instruction on the knowledge that students learn best when they play the music they enjoy most. That’s why we use special arrangements of today's music to help students become proficient instrumentalists or vocalists as well as seasoned performers. At B2R Music, individual music instruction is combined with band instruction that leads to regularly scheduled public performances, "Battles of the Bands," and recording sessions in our professional sound studio.

Vishal Sinha: Our kids go to International School of Music for their weekly music sessions. They are just starting out on their musical journey and this can be a challenge for both the kids, and the teachers. We really appreciate the patience of the instructor - she is really doing a good job introducing our kids to music and is patient with them. The front desk staff is very friendly too and helps us quite a bit to set the weekly schedule. The new location is perfect for us and the facilities are really nice!

Sarah Corwin: Both my kids have taken lessons at Minton’s. Teachers are very talented and patient. They were flexible when one of my kids wanted to switch instruments. They also allow for rescheduled lessons when conflicts arose. Quickly moved to virtual lessons once COVID hit, and continue to allow virtual lessons as an option.

Their attention to detail from starting on time to communicating upcoming events, recitals, etc. is great. His piano teacher Sarah is exceptionally well trained, on time, very patient and gives 110% during the lesson.
Sonny V: Our kids take piano and flute lessons at Mintons Music. We have been going here for about three years and they really enjoy their teachers. We have found them to be extremely patient, dedicated to teaching and very professional. My belief is that a student, no matter what the subject, will learn better if he or she has developed a connection with their teacher, that is very much the case here. We are very happy with everything and most importantly, our kids are learning music while having fun. In addition, the Mintons are extremely flexible with make-up lessons which helps us tremendously given the fact that inevitably one or more after school or summer activities end up conflicting with their scheduled lesson times.

Melinda Innis: We have been attending music lessons at Minton’s Music for over 2 years. My daughter started out with voice lessons, but decided to switch to piano after a few months. The Minton’s were very accommodating and not only allowed her to switch, but she kept her same music teacher! My son has been taking drum lessons from Mr. Minton himself. As with some 7-year old boys, it can be a challenge to keep their focus, but Mr. Minton does it with patience every week and we are truly grateful for all he has learned.

He loves his teacher and loves the variety of music he’s learning. Zoom is really working out. The teacher, although remote, has all the tools required to teach a new student. Plus, everyone at B2R is friendly and very professional.
Dori Morper: My kids have taken lessons at the Gaithersburg location for almost eight years. Kids & Keys, Glee Club, private drum lessons, rock band, private saxophone lessons, summer camps...in every case the teachers were top notch! The experience for our family has been outstanding- why else would we last so long? The office staff has always been warm, professional and ready to help with schedule changes and routine questions or concerns. The instructors make learning music fun and have absolutely given my kids skills, techniques and a love of music that has followed them to their middle and high school music programs. Their success at school is a direct result of their learning at Bach to Rock. I love that there are opportunities for performances both as solo performers and band members. Recently remodeled!
