Gabriel Charles Tyler: I’m still relatively new to the DMV area, so I’m always excited to explore new neighborhoods and shops. My friend raves about Hill’s Kitchen, and now I know why! It’s a small space, but it’s quaint and is filled with so many kitchen and household items that you probably wouldn’t find anywhere else. On top of that, the staff members at Hill’s Kitchen exude positivity. And they’re always willing to help you find just the item you’re looking for. For example, all I knew was that I needed a cutting board that I saw at a friend’s house with a “m” on it. The team member who jumped in to assist me immediately knew what I was talking about and she made the cutting board appear like magic. She even went as far to explain to me the price differences. I’m so impressed with the selection and the quality of service! This shop will definitely be at the top of my list from now on.

Leah is so knowledgeable about every single item in her store and was exceptionally patient while I figured out what type of knives I was looking for. Her expertise and clear explanations helped me really narrow down my options. I look forward to purchasing more cookware in the future because I know —without a doubt— that I can ask Leah and get straight answers. She had all of them! Additionally, she took numerous COVID precautions, including requiring masks covering the nose and mouth of all customers, limiting the number of customers to four (not four “groups” ie households, but four people— full stop.), maintaining an appropriate distance, and ensuring each customer used hand sanitizer upon entering. David Cochrane: Ms. Sabrina Younossi has been a delight to work with. We met Sabrina within a few months of moving the DC area and we had an immediate connection with her. I knew I wanted to work with her and that she was the right person to understand and realize our vision of our dream kitchen. We passed up on several reputable design firms for our complete home renovation because they only wanted to work with their own kitchen designers. I was adamant that I would only work with a firm that allowed Sabrina to partner with us in our kitchen remodel and design. Ms. Younossi has been exceptionally flexible as we (not her) have fumbled through different concepts for our home renovation, moving the location of the kitchen several times; she promptly comes back with renderings that fit our requirements and double checks everything for precision. Her recommendations on everything have been spot on, and she continually pointed out things that could be conflicts or enhancements in the overall flow and function of the space. We have finally settled on a design that opens the kitchen, dining space, and living room into one open area. Sabrina went from designing just a kitchen to all three rooms. I am extremely excited to see her vision come to life and to have her expert touch throughout the whole process to unify to the complete look and feel of the home. Finally, in addition to being a fantastic designer, she is a delight to work with. Sabrina is a lovely person who has been exceptionally accommodating and is always a great host when we visit her office. We often bring our two toddlers with us; she is patient and kind with us and them, so much so that our kids get excited to visit her. If you are looking for someone to help you with your next design project, save yourself the time shopping around and start with Sabrina. She will not disappoint.

Sabrina was a pleasure to work with, she was very knowledgeable on the products, extremely detail oriented, and was excellent at communications. She provided design guidance based on the product features, responded quickly to inquiries, and worked diligently to resolve issues in a timely manner. I would recommend her to anyone who is embarking on a kitchen renovation project.

jts: Sabrina was a pleasure to work with and we recommend her to anyone wanting a new kitchen based on the quality products that GKC offers. She is an experienced kitchen designer and knows the Leicht product line well. We wanted our new kitchen to be based on the current configuration (which worked well for us), and Sabrina honored that approach. She offered excellent suggestions and we included proposed design upgrades which we had not previously considered. One was using a gorgeous MCM orange color for our island niche – based on a display in the showroom. Sabrina helped us to be a bit bolder and go beyond neutrals and we are excited about incorporating that particular feature in the design. As a former engineer, I (Joanne) am VERY detailed-oriented, and Sabrina answered all my questions and made adjustments with considerable patience, as well as explaining why an idea wouldn’t work or what impact it would have on other decisions. We made several visits to the D.C. showroom as well as joining Zoom sessions, so it was easy to have direct interaction with her. Charrese Edwards: I took the time to go into the Fergusons over on Wisconsin where I met with one of the sales people named Tempe. I spent a couple of hours in there looking for several items and making selections, Tempe said she would get back to me by the next day at the latest with some quotes. I did not hear from her so I followed up a few days later with an email, she didn’t respond so I called and left a message, she didn’t respond so I called and spoke to somebody else and she said that she would get Tempe to respond and she still never did. Not exactly what I call good customer service. I drove all the way out to the Rockville store and met with the sales person there, Dixon, and had a fantastic experience. Ferguson should be happy that I just didn’t decide to go somewhere else completely based on the extremely poor service that I got from the Wisconsin Ave store.

Meredith Cross: Keni Jones has helped me on two visits, and she is remarkable. The first time a couple weeks ago I went in to look at new refrigerators because mine (purchased by my builder at another dealer about 8 months ago) was requiring too many repairs. She offered to help me find out how to get it replaced by the dealer for free. That is now happening. Saving $12,000. She didn’t need to help me. She just seems to want to help. Today I went to replace some lights. They have a beautiful selection. I bought a lot of light fixtures with help from Tayler Bordes at the same store in the Fall of 2018. She was fantastically helpful and the lights are great. Today I was there shortly before closing with no appointment. Keni Jones helped me order what I wanted and gave me great advice. I’m a huge fan of Ferguson’s and so glad they opened near DC Chevy Chase!

Hanna chakarji: Better prices than you would expect, I was looking for a light for my bathroom, one thatgoes on the wall. Found some beautiful chrome polished triple light. Was the same price as the junk on eBay. They did not have it in stock at Bethesda but they did have it in Richmond, I paid for it at around 3 PM and it was at my home the next day. Awesome place very high-quality items.

Samaher Sarsour: This past late spring while being quarantined due to Covid 19 restrictions, my husband and I decided it was a good time to remodel our kitchen. HUI WEN: People here are doing a professional, high quality job! We are remodeling the kitchen from a very old one. Melissa is my designer and she did a really nice job: giving me proper price choices but with good quality. She also helped me to choose the handle and the faucet. She gave me the final version of the kitchen within 3 days. Fazil is doing the installation thing, he is also a designer, which is amazing! He is also doing a great job of installation, and gives great suggestions of some problems of the new kitchen. Sometimes he has to stay in office in day time but he still comes to install everything after office time. Thank you guys! I love my new kitchen very much! DC Techie: Great selection of food staples, garlic, shallots, wine, beer and takeout. Lots of chilled wines priced around $15 range which is excellent. Did not try indian food but it looked delicious!

Julie Hunter: We recently hired Alexandria kitchen and bath shop to do a complete remodel of our master bathroom. It turned out to be a fantastic decision! We’ve been enjoying the finished product for a few weeks now. The bathroom looks beautiful and exceeded our high expectations. Our remodeling process started with a preliminary inquiry to several different bathroom remodelers. Melissa, from the Kitchen and Bath Shop, got back to us nearly immediately. We set up an on-site visit for her to see our space. From the first time we met Melissa at our house - we knew we were in great hands. She took detailed measurements, listened to what we wanted and offered her suggestions. She then left and went to work designing our new bathroom. We drove up a week or so later for the design meeting. Melissa unveiled her design - in 3D - on an enormous computer monitor in their showroom. It looked amazing! She was extremely prepared and had also organized samples of each of the materials she selected. We really liked everything she picked. We did, however, have a few specific ideas for lights and showers. She was so accommodating in working with us to change the design to find the exact ones we wanted. In the end, she designed for us our modern dream master bathroom. When we were completely happy with the design, they gave us a price estimate for this remodel. It was not the lowest number we received, but it was highly competitive. It was also the final price, there would be no surprise added costs to worry about. The deciding factor for us, however, was that this redesign was by far the nicest quality! Work started in less than two weeks. We had heard horror stories of people having the wait months. The workers were great; very competent, friendly and respectful of our home. They stayed until the planned work was done - never leaving just because the clock said it was time to go - and always carefully cleaned up before departing. Steven was the project lead and he was awesome to work with. He explained to us what they were going to do that day and asked us when he had a question. He even offered helpful suggestions from time to time. We were blown away by the quality of workmanship and the attention to detail. They even happily came back to change the shower fixture after we thought we were done (and after they received the final payment) as we discovered we were not completely happy with the one we initially selected. As you can tell, we our absolutely thrilled with new bathroom and our experience with the team from the Kitchen and Bath Shop. I do suggest the owner considers stocking feminine products which would sell fast considering the amount of women in the immediate & surrounding area. I love the milk in the glass jug & I don’t typically care for milk AT ALL! 4 Stars because they are missing out on a multi-billion dollar industry by not including feminine products.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich the other day and the cashier couldn’t stop rolling there eyes and huffing and puffing because I was trying to decide what I wanted. When i went to pick it up, they literally threw it on the table, I had to almost dive for it so it wouldn’t roll off the counter and onto floor 😭 they stared at me while I ate so I just left I felt so uncomfortable. We had concerns with a drawer and a door in the kitchen but had no information on a warranty or when and who installed the cabinets. We went to our local USA Cabinet Store and they were very helpful in determining that the Fairfax Virginia store had done the installation and put us in touch with the store manager, Sean Yilmaz. Sean immediately came to our home, personally repaired the drawer and ordered a new door. He later installed the new door as soon as he received it. We have rarely experienced the prompt, courteous service and attention to detail that we received from Sean. It was pleasure to work with someone with such superb customer service.

The whole renovation experience was excellent from start to finish. David, lead designer, took his time to explain the options to achieve the look I wanted and provided as much information as necessary. judith smith: They have expanded the menu & have a decent selection of grocery items.The food quality is good but like most small neighborhood shops their prices are exorbitant (even if used to high DC prices) and I was surprised to see they are sort of a local chain. During Covid they removed the indoor seating but there are tables outdoors

Susana Contreras-Mendez: Amazing team! They made my morning this morning! I can’t believe they had compass coffee right down the street. Oh and if you haven’t tried the dirty chai tea latte it’s a must!

Jackson Greene: Lots of local products. Their sandwiches are amazing. Pictured is a menu as of August 2017. Their cookies are placed right by the register and they get me every time! Also their ice mochas are top 5

Colleen Turner: Great local deli/grocer! They serve Compass Coffee and the shelves are stocked with items from other D.C. owned businesses. Food wise you can’t go wrong. I admittedly opt for sandwiches 95% of the time — the turkey & cheese, tuna sandwich, and Italian sub (OMG THE ITALIAN SUB!!!!) are delicious. They also leave treats out for your dog which is just the sweetest. Highly recommend.

Cortland Wingfield: I live this place. It feels like home. Especially since it reminds me of my childhood growing up here in DC. It’s nice to have a corner grocery store you know you can run in and pick up a few things you need or want. Friendly staff is such an understatement. The staff here rocks and I love them. Great products and good food (I’m VERY partial to the bagel bites) and a cool place to support other locals.

Maribeth Lowe: We loved working with Sarah Kahn Turner at Jennifer Gilmer Kitchen and Bath. She has tremendous expertise in high-end projects and was very easy to work with. The process was smooth and she worked hard to guide us every step of the way. We ended up removing a wall in the kitchen that we might not have considered without seeing her plans, allowing us now to enjoy beautiful views from every part of the room. We appreciated her close involvement during project execution and her skill at solving any unexpected problem that arose during construction. She went above and beyond in sharing her time and advice every step of the way. Her attention to even the final details like cabinet hardware and lighting produced spectacular results. She is a very talented design professional who ensured that our project was within budget, on time, exceeded our expectations and turned out absolutely beautiful. If you have the opportunity to work with Sarah on your project, you absolutely should!

Gary Langbaum: Our kitchen designer was Sarah Turner and she was a pleasure to deal with and she did a fantastic job. She offered us a truly unique idea which made our kitchen larger than we believed possible and gave us much more storage space than expected. She suggested a waterfall table at the end of an island, which enables us to seat 3 for meals and extended the work area when necessary. In a different but complimentary stone, the island is a conversation piece. From the floor to ceiling, everything chosen was perfect. Her suggested general contractor was a pleasure to deal with and took care of everything. Despite timing issues working at a condo, he was able to have the job done on time and we moved in on the date we had projected. We would highly recommend Sarah for anyone wishing to have a non traditional approach to redesigning a kitchen.

Camille Dykes: I have worked with Jennifer Gilmer Kitchen & Bath on several projects. They are kind, creative, and collaborative. I love working with Sarah because she is knowledgable and responsive. It is always a pleasure working with them. Their showroom is a fantastic resource with several up to date installations that keep us inspired!
