Music on the Hill: what do users think?

Maritza Cooper: What a lovely place to not only purchase an instrument but learn how to use it! We started with my granddaughter learning the violin and moved on to mommy taking guitar lessons. Very homey atmosphere and great with kids of all ages! When I finally have the time I want to learn how to play drums!

Donovan Dorrance: Aaron hooked me up with a great set-up for my telecaster. Helped fix some intonation issues. So very grateful for his expertise, efficiency, and kindness. Highly recommend coming here! They will treat you right!!!

Shawn Benson: Music on the Hill - The Hill’s own neighborhood music shop. Pretty cool. I’m a new client at Music on the Hill and I’m a very satisfied customer. My wife and I look forward to coming back, taking lessons, and recommending this neighborhood music shop to our musically-inclined or curious friends. Their prices are often just as good (and sometimes better) than their competition. The customer service/expertise is spot-on. And, you feel good knowing your money is going back to a small, local business. Frankly, it’s an investment in our community and that’s almost reason enough these days. Give them a shot. They don’t have everything, but they’ve got a lot and it was more than enough for us.

anne phelps: My whole family loves Music on the Hill! Lindy is a terrific resource on all things music related. We’ve had great experiences with lessons (clarinet and guitar) and when we wanted to upgrade to a wooden clarinet, Lindy & Luke found us a quality used instrument. If there’s something we need and they don’t have it, they’ve always been able to get it in short order. Music on the Hill is everything a local music store should be.

DAVID BAROI: On March 29th around 5 pm Me and my friend wanted to check this store out we are not from the dc area and we drove during rush hour traffic took us 40 min. But where we arrived I was keen on checking out the guitars and my buddy wanted to get a a quarter in jack. After we went in we an employee Middle Aged female was being rude as soon as we walked i; she made us feel very uncomfortable and eying us down the whole time. My friend even purchased a product and yet she was keen on getting us out the door and I was in the middle of considering purchasing the fender Stratocaster Mexico made but yet she was nudging for the door. After being in there not even for 10 min she came up and told us we had to leave. And so we abided by what she said and left. But will I go back again ? No how can i go into a music store and spend over a hundred dollar on anything without taking my time on inspecting that product.
Response: David- I'm very sorry that you felt rushed at Music on the Hill. Unfortunately, you did show up 15 minutes before our posted closing hours, and I (the middle aged women you talk about) had a family obligation that could not be put off. If you are still interested in the Fender, give us a call at the store, and we can set up an appointment to ensure that you get all the time you need.

Amaobi Otiji: I had an enjoyable experience buying a guitar here. Their shop setup is really aesthetically pleasing and their selections were all from very quality makers. The staff were very helpful in finding something that fit me by giving me a lot of options to work with. I also enjoyed them showing off the instruments with their musical skills.
Response: Amaobi- thank you for your kind words! I hope you are still enjoying your guitar!

Eric Schneider: Since this place added a guitar tech and luthier, I have taken in three guitars and received perfect setups and provided great service in general. So glad to have these folks in Capitol Hill instead of having to give a conglomerate like Guitar Center my business!

Kevin Wholihan: Had an amazing purchasing experience here and came away with a gorgeous acoustic. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, quickly found me the right size and a great fit. Very good COVID precautions. Will be back for my next major purchase.
Response: Thanks Kevin!

Middle C Music: what do users think?

James Hurwitz: Without reservation, Middle C Music deserves the highest possible recommendation. They did a superb job of cleaning up and giving an overall tune-up to my antique guitar and repairing my antique mandolin. In the process, I saw how the staff at Middle C —Nick, Tom, Dave and Hillary — interacted not just with me but customers and students of all ages and abilities. What I appreciated most was their low key manner and the pleasure they took in enhancing the joy that others got from their instruments, music, and lessons. This is truly an excellent music store.
Response: Thanks so much for all your kind words, Jim! Always a pleasure working with you, and of course, you're welcome back anytime-- in fact, if you drop by on the 19th, we'll be having a 20th anniversary celebration with cake, prizes, and live performances. We're honored to be your local music store, and hope to continue serving you and maintaining your lovely instruments for years to come. -Tom F.

Gillian Edick: We popped into Middle C to have a guitar restrung and tuned. They did it quickly, but more importantly made it great fun for my aspiring but beginner guitarist. Tom was amazing - so helpful and took the time to show my son how to tune the guitar, hold it and get started. Really fantastic service. Thanks Tom and team!
Response: Thanks so much, Gillian. Helping musicians have fun getting started is one of my favorite things about working in our community. Come back anytime to show off his progress! -T

Paul Myers: I purchased a piano from these fine people, and I love it. It was very competitively priced. I have also purchased a guitar, and I have had these folks restring several guitars, and they do a great job —and again, the price is right. I love supporting small businesses, and Middle C Music is one of the best!
Response: Thanks so much! Very kind words. Glad you're enjoying the piano.

Fernando Nogueira: Super friendly and helpful staff. We were missing a very specific guitar screw and they helped us out in no time.

Susanna Gregory: I LOVED it here! Stopped by for a new guitar and the staff was immediately willing to help and super friendly. The prices were great and I was really impressed with all the cool little things you could buy too! I didn’t get the names of the people who helped me but they were fantastic
Response: Thank you, Susanna! I'm glad we were able to help you find the right guitar, and we really appreciate your support. See you again! - Nick (and Tom and Dave) :)

Michelle Long: I had the best time at Middle C Music! Everyone was super knowledgeable, supportive, and friendly. I came in looking for a 3/4 size acoustic guitar for traveling and had my pick of a beautiful selection. Big fan!! Will return!
Response: Wooo! Thanks Michelle, hope you enjoy the new guitar!

Guitar Center: what do users think?

Irish Car Bomb: This particular store is an embarrassment to the music community, and Guitar Center alike. Everything is cluttered, off shelves, out of place. The floors are absolutely filthy. There are broken instruments just laying around. There are items out of packages. You can tell staff doesn’t take pride in their store. I visit guitar centers around the country frequently, as I’m represented by a pro rep, via guitar center professional. I am a drummer, so I will include the photos I took of this establishment in my area only, I didn’t venture into the other areas as they were just as bad from afar. The used selection is just in piles all over the floor. Who would want to spend money here? The employees seem nice when you’re paying but there was absolutely no engagement with me until I was at the counter.

Sahil A: I would give this Guitar Center 0 stars if I could. Ben and all the other employees seem nice over the phone but in person they give you smart answers especially Ben, when you ask about the return policy Ben gets very offended. I asked for the return policy cause I was buying a used controller without it being tested. Ben then says if your gonna return it then don’t buy it, then why the hell do u guys have a return policy. Never shopping at this store again and I don’t recommend it to anyone!
Response: Hello Sahil, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I would like to apologize, we want our customers to not only feel comfortable in our store, but also receive the assistance they need so we take instances like this very seriously. I would like to get this to a member of management for them to look into and reach back out to you to address. Please email your preferred method of contact to YourVoice@GuitarCenter.com and we can have them reach out.

Chris Scuderi: Warning. This guitar center is selling used items as new. Purchased 2 “new” KRK 8 inch studio monitors at almost $300 each. When grabbing them off the shelf I noticed one of them looked like the box was retaped. I asked if this unit was used and the salesman Zack assured me it wasn’t. When I got home (after 2 hour round trip) the unit that I thought was opened was certainly opened because the power cable was missing. I immediately called the store and the manager was prompt to tell me he would over night the power cord. I raised my concern about the item being used and he assured me it wasn’t. Well, it’s used. There is a white scuff on bottom left (like it was hit on a white wall) and there are what appears to be soda that has dried on bottom. Now I get to spend another 2 hours swapping out this unit with a new one. A complete waste of my time and money.

Michael Fortenberry: Great location close to a lot of attractions and other shopping areas. They have a wonderful selection of music equipment bass, electric, and acoustic guitars. I think what a lot of people don’t know is Guitar Center also has a great selections of equipment keyboards, sound, lighting and turntable equipment. The staff here is superb, helpful and provided a lot of great recommendations I didn’t initially considered. I highly recommend this location to anyone passing through this area or are visiting.

Quentin Workman: After a mixup in shipping, and UPS losing my guitar, I was refunded for the price of mine and sent a new one on them. They are a great company that I will continue to frequent!
Response: Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate your comments and are glad to hear you were pleased with the service you received.

Hasan ibn-Sabah: Decent stock, helpful and friendly employees who seem to like what they do. Minus 9ne star for the horrible parking lot situation.
Response: Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your time and letting us know about your experience Please let us know if we can ever be of any service in the future. Thanks again!

Ken Pierce: I bought a new Álvarez guitar is it place so good in the Customer satisfaction is excellent I love shopping at this place
Response: Thanks for the review!

Travis Roland: I brought my martin custom X guitar here to have the bridge re glued down, and have a neck adjustment. My first issue was that i was told the total cost was going to be 150$ which included putting elixer strings back on. When i went to pick up the guitar I was charged extra for strings and they didnt put elixers back on. Not too big of a deal to me. When I got home and proceeded to inspect the repair I was immediately shocked by the lack of attention to detail, the bridge was crooked and not flush against the body. I returned the guitar to have this corrected, when I went to pick it up, I inspected it in the store, there was glue all around the bridge and looked even worse than the first time! I spoke with Steven H. Who conducted the repair and he said he would address the issue. Im thinking third time is a charm, wrong! I picked it up 20 minutes ago and it still looks like garbage. At this point my guitar has spent almost 3 weeks at guitar center and I have lost all patience so I brought the guitar home.

MOHAMMED DALOWAR HOSSAIN: This an amazing place to buy a guitar and necessity of the music world instrument

She Fancy: These folks are just AWESOME. The young lady (the only young lady- pardon me for being absent minded) educated me on my desired purchase and went above and beyond to select the very best electric drum set available. She helped me prank surprise my husband with the drum set for his bday. She purchased balloons for him at zero cost to me. I can’t say enough. Extremely satisfied with the value AND service.

Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center: what do users think?

Carlton Jones: Chuck Levins Washington Music Center, has been the most anticipated retail store visit since I was 13 years old. Every local musician I know in DC has spent time and money at Chuck’s. I recently made a purchase and it went as all my transactions made there since approx 1970. This time it was online but a very personal affair, Adam Levin was helpful and more accommodating that an old guy could ask for. It was still like xmas awaiting my package that came overnight and with a wonderful gift. I can honestly say it was the most emotional purchase I’ve made in decades, not the most expensive, not a life changing acquisition just a memory evoking moment that included family members and friends passed on that I think of frequently whom I spent many hours playing music with and having the best times of my life. Me, my family, friends and Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center…. Thanks again Adam, if this is my last purchase please know they have all been the best!

Richard Capeless: My experience was through an online order and I am here to testify to their exceptional customer service. I had a small problem with a piece of gear I was really excited to get, and the staff went above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate me. General manager Adam Levin reach out to me and oversaw my exchange. That kind of personal touch made it clear that they care about their customers.

Rachel Ellis: Bought my fiancé a guitar here a year ago. Sales person was friendly and helpful. Good covid protocol for the time. Sales people weren’t pushy and were well informed on guitars. Bought the Taylor GS Mini and it’s been a great guitar. Would definitely check them out if you’re in the market for an instrument. Only downside was slightly outdated equipment/billing systems, but nothing a little patience doesn’t fix.

Eddie Monson: Excellent customer service, very courteous and professional... Bought a new guitar at a good price and shipped fast..

D0nut7125: Got my trick Dominators from this store, fast shipping and arrived just on time for a gig. Will be ordering from this place again!

Mary Ann Wyckoff: Aaron was very helpful with answering questions and guiding me towards choosing the right bass clarinet for me! I definitely recommend Chuck Levin’s!

House of Musical Traditions: what do users think?

Wilhelm Bonnette: Excellent place to find hard to find instruments as well as for instrument repair. This is a musical instrument boutique.....especially for string and percussion instruments. I found several drums that are collectable, which were in great condition. If you are serious about your craft....then you have to make time to visit!!!

Greg O: I am the type of person who goes into a music shop and likes to try a lot of instruments for a while before I buy and in many big chain music stores such as Chuck Levins, Guitar Center and music and arts I usually get very impatient, VERY PUSHY and rude service from the sales staff. I was so delighted to not experience that at all from your sales staff and this lack of pressure MADE ME BUY. I will definitely be back.
Response: Thanks so much for this positive review, Greg! We aim for a low-pressure atmosphere in the store and we're glad to hear you appreciate that. Hope to see you again!

Daniel Meltzer: A wonderfully overwhelming array of instruments in this shop. Very nice folks. I am glad we have this place in the Baltimore/DC area.
Response: Thanks so much for your positive feedback and support, Daniel!

El desinformador Informador: This store repairs accordion microphone inputs since I have a condenser microphone, it is two microphones in one but when you connect the tip or plug as is normally done, only one microphone sounds the one on the grill but the one with the bass does not if I take it out in the middle more or less work the two microphones can repair this or what would be the problem in advance I hope your help thanks
Response: Hello! It sounds like you are asking if we repair electronics/microphones on accordions. Currently, we do not have a repair person in our network with that specialty. You are welcome to call us at 301-270-9090 for more information. If you have not yet done business with our store, we would respectfully ask that you remove your review since a 2-star rating negatively impacts us. Guitar Center: what do users think?

Nate Fields: Spencer did a good job giving me all the info I needed over the phone. Came in the next day found what I was looking for I think it was even less than Spencer mentioned. Dennis hooked me up with what I needed and there was no snickering, drama, or stress. Guitar center seems different now.

Steve Williams: Rented amp [Hot Rod] for the 2nd time for Kidd Funkadelic. Crew there were polite and courteous. the amp performed well but most of all they were quick

Jason R.: Awesome store. Very courteous staff. I had pick ups installed in my guitar. Excellent work & they were completed before the estimated time.

Emily Reid Campbell: This place is huge. Pictures don’t do it justice. There is a large open “main” area devoted primarily to guitars and accessories and sound systems and sheet music and whatnot. Off this main area there are many additional spaces with all sorts of cool stuff in various adjoining rooms, halls, alcoves, and other curious display areas of varying size and shape. Acoustic gets its own special room with a door and everything that you can access at the back of the main area—I didn’t go inside because it looked a bit too exclusive for me and too dangerous for my little kids to go near of course, but if you’re looking for acoustic stuff you’ll probably love it. You’ll also look really cool going inside. Other areas and offerings: a huge drum section filled with drums and drum stuff and related accessories and all sorts of things that I have never even seen or heard of because I do not play drums, all located in a large room/additional area just to the right of the entrance as you walk in the store from the parking lot (with potentially more spaces located off of that first “drum area,”—I didn’t venture that far in). Another several adjoining areas off the main space are similarly dedicated to pianos, keyboards, and synthesizer type stuff. Further back into the distant corners adjoining piano land, you’ll find another room or two full of speakers, amps, and all sorts of sound systems and devices for DJs and sound engineers and audiophiles of any sort. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a secret entrance to another realm entirely back there, with dancing elves playing trumpets and harps and accordions and other strange creatures of that sort, given how many corners and alcoves and sections they had there already. It’s pretty cool. On the other side of the store I saw additional rooms and areas for music lessons and rentals and a few other doors to miscellaneous realms of musical store excitement. I’ll have to check that side out next time. You get the idea. This place is BIG. In fact, the “main” area alone is as large or larger than the entire square footage of the few other guitar center locations I’ve seen before. Granted: size is not the primary determinant of quality, especially not for specialty stores of this sort. But if you need music equipment, this is a good bet. It’s a cool place overall and makes me want to learn more about everything there and maybe learn to play a few more instruments in the future. I don’t have enough experience to comment extensively on the quality of their actual stock or their prices in comparison to other stores. But they have a TON of stuff there for musicians and DJs and sound engineers and audiophiles and anyone else seeking musical instruments and music related goods. And they do price match other stores, so if you find something cheaper at another store they’ll give you that price (up to 45 days after purchase, with some exceptions of course). As for customer service and sales and whatnot: I have only purchased one thing from them thus far, but my experience was positive and the sales process was smooth and nicely handled. Overall, the sales associates are nice and unobtrusive. They’re not necessarily going to greet you enthusiastically when you walk in, or even greet you at all. They’re probably not going to ask you if you need help right away either, or perhaps at any point, and they’re almost certainly NOT going to follow you around the store just to see if you need help later. If you need or want all that, this might not be your type of place. Personally, I prefer this approach. They’re there and quite helpful if you need them, but otherwise they’ll let you explore and do your thing. If/when you do need them, they’re happy to help. Just ask. It works. I’m a fan.
Response: Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your time and letting us know about your experience Please let us know if we can ever be of any service in the future. Thanks again!

Todd L: I like the store a lot it has percussion and the staff is friendly got a decent choice of ancillary services and boxes and supplies and you got a national system behind you
Response: Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate your comments and are glad to hear you were pleased with the service you received.

Luan Nguyen: I stopped by this store to purchase 2 bose L1 pro 8, the first one is ok but the second one when I open everything very dirty and the power cord is already opened, look like they sold the open box for me with the price of the new one.

Jacob Ferguson: This place has *excellent* customer service. I had somewhat of an emergency and needed a small tan windscreen for my Countryman mic. Jim Hodges called almost every music store in town and finally we figured something out. Thank you so much to Jim Hodges and Guitar Center.

Action Music Ltd: what do users think?

TJ Sanner: I love guitars. I love visiting awesome shops that have amazing inventory and amazing staff that are excited to be in that environment. Action did not disappoint today. Hands down the best inventory of Huss & Dalton, Collings, and vintage Martin. They even spur of the moment fit me in and made a quick truss rod adjustment while I waited. Totally unbelievable. I am a small business owner myself and only hope these guys know how awesome they are! Thanks for an amazing visit, truly a 6star experience! We traveled from Annapolis just to see their shop and will be back 100%.
Response: Thank You TJ It was really nice to meet You! Thank You for Your kind review. Matt

Matt Lyttle: The greatest guitar shop around, no question. Incredible selection of new and vintage instruments. All sorts of pedals and gear. Extremely knowledgeable staff. And they are as welcoming as can be. Just be respectful of their stuff and they will treat you like family - no matter how deep (or empty) your pockets are!
Response: Thank You Matt!

Elisa: Great store! The staff are so friendly, kind, and willing to share advice. I always have a pleasant experience taking my guitars in for work or browsing for new gear.
Response: Thank You for the kind words Elisa!

Matthew Morgan: This place is the best guitar shop in the DMV and it’s not even close. The guys know their stuff and they care about what they do. I came in with a California strat a few months ago and the owner took time to walk me through the history of the guitar, the value, and helped me weigh pros and cons of investing in some repairs. They’ve set up 4 of my guitars and have done A+ work on each one. Love these guys!
Response: Wow Thank You Matthew-we appreciate Your kind review.

Cameron Quinn: Music shops like this are a dying bread and thankfully we still have killer shops like Action. Super knowledgeable about all things music and guitars. Best and most eclectic selection of vintage guitars in the area. Thanks Action!
Response: Thank You Cameron!

Harrison Z: I found a guitar on their website listed as in stock, called to buy it and they explained their website is out of date by about 5 years. Ok. They mentioned they have a Mustang Bass for sale though so I was interested. Rob told me he had to check with his boss on how to do the sale but the best way would be to mail a check. I accepted the terms and asked to please place a hold tag. They said they could put the tag on for me. I called them the next day to ask for the pictures they promised me, they were “slammed; call back later no time to put a hold tag on”. I called back later. “The shop is closing now but we can make a reverb listing for you tomorrow and you’ll just buy it first as it goes up.” I told them, Saturday on reverb, it’s very possible someone will buy it in those seconds before me. They said it’s never happened and won’t be a problem. I call back the next day to remind them of the deal, they said call a little later. I did. They say 3,2,1 the listing is up, Reverb wanted my CVV code (which doesn’t usually happen) which I scrambled to get, then someone else bought the bass in those seconds. Apparently the other buyer is a returning customer so they sold the bass to him. After all the calls I made and the changing of terms I accepted, they simply sold it out from under me. This is the number one worst experience I’ve had buying a guitar. They cant accept a credit card over the phone? The reverb listing wouldn’t have even been created if it weren’t for me and they sell it to this other guy who is apparently on the way to pick it up 30 seconds after purchasing? Come on. Who do you think would have been inconvenienced more; him or me? After all the phone calls I made and patience I had after reminding them several times about the sale, obviously me!! they didn’t seem to mind at all selling it out from under me. Almost proud of their decision. A simple explanation to the other buyer and I’m sure everyone would understand that the bass should have been sold to me. And a bonus complaint, I asked them at the end of the call if they have anymore vintage fenders in stock and they told me I was already told what they have in stock the day before. As if somehow I was inconveniencing them! Absolutely unbelievable and extremely unprofessional. “We’ve been doing the same thing for 25 years buddy “. Is what I heard many times. What??? Reverbs been around for about 6 years. And you’d think they’d know how to honor a deal after all their years as a shop! Extremely disappointed and so much of my time and energy wasted for nothing.
Response: The item was listed on Reverb specifically for You and we notified You and were on the phone with You as we went live with the listing so You could grab it. We specifically asked You, if You were ready to proceed, after you said Yes we listed, But then You continued to haggle and were told that the item was in two other peoples carts. Then someone bought it out from under you. I'm sorry but we tried very hard to work with You, and patiently explained our policies multiple times. We tried, sometimes things just don't work out. Thank You Matt

Christopher Frakes: Great selection of instruments, equipment, and accessories. Matt and co. are knowledgeable, kind, and a delight to chat with. Hands down the best music store in the area!
Response: Thank You Chris!

muscle man: action music is a really good store. the people that work there are all super nice and welcoming. i gotta come back here one day. also the location is very nice considering its right next to a record store and a recording studio
Response: Thank You!

Shawn Hatfield: Always a good time. Thank you guys for the Orange cab this time. I usually get vintage fuzz pedals here. Great selection of instruments, amps, fx, and other music goodies!

Guitar Center: what do users think?

Jake O: I’ve had a few good experiences here. Connor in the repairs/services department is absolutely excellent, great at communicating about your instrument and what the options are for your issue. And he’s good at the repairing or setting up your instrument. Dropping a star just because the store seems a little unorganized, communication between the front and the repair guys could be better. And it seems like they’re understaffed; the employees are being pulled in a thousand directions so sometimes there’s just not someone to help you. But yeah it’s p good, would let Connor adjust my truss rod any day
Response: Hi! Thanks for your business and feedback! We are happy that you had a good experience with our staff. Please let us know if we can ever be of any service in the future. Thanks again!

Brian Loffredo: Why sell drums if you have no interest in selling drums? This is the second GC I’ve been to in a month and both of them look like the place is being packed up for a move. Boxes everywhere. Merchandise out of order and strewn about like toys on Christmas morning. Missing tags. You name it. It’s terrible. All of the snare drums on the shelf (in the Fredericksburg, VA location) were way out of tune. The top heads were barely tightened. The cymbals were not stocked well and there was no section to look at hardware. A few high hat and other stands were place sporadically around the “showroom” but there was no way for me to actually try anything out to see if it was worth purchasing. I was there for 30 minutes and did not see a single salesperson enter the drum area (unless someone was hiding behind the pile of returns next to the cash register. As a drummer, I am truly sad. I miss the heyday of Mannys Music and Sam Ash.

jfeownfew rewfew: Horrible service. Every time I come, I gotta wait for so long to just ask if something is available. Back order never shipped and wouldn’t even refund when I come to the store. I once bought a bass which was said to be a floor model but sold at retail price and had a big scratch on the surface.
Response: Hello, Thank you for messaging us. I apologize for the inconvenience and the poor service you experienced at this location. We will look into this to correct these problems and to see that the necessary improvements are made. It is important to know, that we appreciate your business. Please email us at yourvoice@guitarcenter.com if you need any further assistance and we will have someone from the Rockville store follow up to see that you are properly taken care of. Thanks!

Guitar Center: what do users think?

Young Park: Went in to try out some acoustic guitars. This location has a nice inventory of guitars and the acoustic room is really nice. Lots of low, mid and high range guitars. Service wasn’t that good. I went in three different times to check out guitars and each time, the salesman would pull a guitar down and then disappear. One time, I waited 20 min. for the salesman to come back and check on me, but he never did. So I left. When i found a guitar I liked, I tried to haggle on the price and they wouldn’t budge from the list price. I’m addition, they had some used guitars listed with prices that were the same (when you get a case) as new.

Daniel Harper: It’s a Guitar Center. If you’re looking for guitar or rock music-focused music gear, this is a good place to go. It has a better selection than most other rock-focused music stores. It’s neat and well-organized. If you’re looking for classical or band music gear (violins, woodwinds, brass instruments, etc.), this is not the place for you. Overall I recommend it.
Response: Glad to hear we got you covered! Thank for your review! Thanks for the review! Have a great day!

ben glowasky: Had a really good experience with Kevin F picked up a speaker from him on 6-13-2022 and he was very informative really good sales and really wanted to help and really friendly
Response: Hi! Thanks for your business and feedback! We are happy that you had a good experience with our staff. Please let us know if we can ever be of any service in the future. Thanks again!

Maryna Broussard: Love this store! Here you can found a big choice for your needs and even take a lesson how to play the guitar!
Response: Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your time and letting us know about your experience Please let us know if we can ever be of any service in the future. Thanks again!

Ciara Long: This must be a good GC. My husband told me he was running in for a quick second and 40 minutes later I’m still sitting in the car. I guarantee he comes out with half the store. Great location, friendly and knowledgeable service he said and well stocked.

Guitar Center: what do users think?

Sarah Simpson: Terrible customer service, 6 people waiting for help and all the associates disappear. Everyone walking around looking for employees. Good prices but this is why even worth higher pricing amazon is beating these places in business.
Response: Hello Sarah, Thank you for messaging us. I apologize for the inconvenience and the poor service you experienced at this location. We will look into this to correct this problem and to see that the necessary improvements are made. It is important to know, that we appreciate your business. Please email us at yourvoice@guitarcenter.com if you need any further assistance and we will reach out to see that you are properly taken care of. Thanks!

MJ: Don’t waste your time here. Horrible customer service. There’s no order in how they run their business. Went in to purchase some items and just needed them to pull the stock so I could check out, but we waited for approximately 25-30 minutes before we decided it was going to be a never ending wait and left. They would rather spend their time playing around and testing out guitars customers are there to sell rather than assisting customers who are there to spend money. It would be more efficient if they ascertained whether or not you’re there to buy or sell upon arrival in order to expedite the process.
Response: Hello MJ, Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Mike Hales: Great selection of products. Was able to get bass, amp, case, and other gear. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Foxes Music Co.: what do users think?

Vassilios Vassiliadis-Laouto Lobby: Fantastic local music store. Customer service is awesome and the manager Dave Belazis always goes above and beyond to help you get the best deal. They also offer musical classes and sell any type of musical instrument, accessories and equipment. I rather support this nice store than other online or other real music shops.

Dale Dean: Extremely professional service allowed me to find the right edition of sheet music that I wanted. And we conferred back and forth by text messages before I even entered the store to pick up the edition. Outstanding and responsive treatment.

T King: Very cool old school music shop, lotta different instruments, sheet music etc. Not sure how competitive prices on guitar amps are. Fun to browse. Looks like the do lessons and repairs, too.

Billy Billy: Why you got to be so weird with your comments every time I come in the store with my children. I get that your band geeks or something, but don’t be so creepy and learn how to interact with humans. @Bernard and others need to stop with weird offhand remarks to customers and children in the store. No one needs it and we will take personal insult next time.

aria moshrefi: Came in just to exchange the rental violin for my son. Brian A was so helpful. He showed us the problem was was not the size of the violin but the locations of the tape was not correct. Excellent free assistance by such a nice employee Thank you you so much !

Christine Hill: I went to Foxes music just to come see and admire the store cause of all the instruments. It was my first time going there and usually i’m a anxious mess kind of a person. I was immediately greated by good ol Dave! (Welcoming and friendly) He showed me some books, amps, intruments, etc. demoed some pedals. Not once was there a pressure to buy or anything which was super nice! No sales pitch and I thoroughly appreciated that. I saw this mustang and he showed it to me and all was history! I walked out with a slammin deal and stand in top of that! Thanks so much Dave! Will definitely be coming back!
Response: Thanks for the review! We value your opinion and look forward to working with you again. See you soon!

Crown Pawnbrokers: what do users think?

Francis Jafari: I have been to many pawn shops throughout my life! I’m a bit of a junkie for them. I love shopping there and finding great things for great prices. I will say crown pawn shop is by far the best I’ve ever encountered! Everyone there is so amazing and willing to help anyway they can! Just ask for mike and he will drop what he’s doing to help. He has always been fair and given me the best deals and gives top dollar for all my items. They also have a female staff member, mrs Jessica who has extensive knowledge of jewelry and can really help you with all questions you have and will work with your budget to help send you home with the ring or watch you desire! All in all this is a 5 star pawn shop and I would recommend it over and over again, so make it your first stop if you’re looking for great deals and great staff!!!
Response: Thanks for your thoughtful review. You are awesome

nick: Amazing service! I love this place! I just bought my wife and daughter last minute gifts, and they were all very helpful. They helped me pick out a necklace and a bracelet. The prices were great. I really liked the omegas and Rolex’s they have for sale. I’ll be back
Response: Thanks nick for the great review.

TODD DILLERSON: If your looking for the best place for any kind of assistance along with the best customer service available go to Crown Pawnbrokers. Response: Thanks for the great review Todd 👍

Carlton Reynolds: I have been a long time customer of Crown Pawn , they are hard working , generous and fair when it matters most , at least I can say that for myself I have been given a fair shake . . .
Response: Thanks Carlton.

Nakita Anderson: My son and I have been coming to this establishment for games since he was 5 he is now 12 and he loves to come and see these wonderful people. My son is into gaming and I’ve learned so much about it with their help and the greeting we get from everyone is so warming. They have been around for so long and the variety of things they have are reasonable and no matter the item, there’re always someone with knowledge of it, check them out, you will come out with the best deals and not to mention the politeness and helpfulness. We love them
Response: You both are so kind. Thank you. 😊

Leon Elliot: This place saves my life every time I’m in a bind and it’s the only place in DC where I can find quality products from my jewelry to my camera equipment love it here

Atomic Music: what do users think?

Linda Neuman: One of our favorite places! We come here just to soak in the fun atmosphere. It is like a funky museum of used guitars, amps, drums, and keyboards, with an emphasis on guitars. Stunning collection. Have bought both acoustics and electrics here. They also have lots of both acoustic and electric bass guitars. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They will always give you a good deal. You can stay as long as you like and browse the warehouse-like premises that also include rock memorabilia and posters, really fun to look at. Come see the Kiss action figures and amazing rock artwork, like the main characters from Star Wars jamming out to a live audience. This place is a one of a kind gem, a must-see for rock music buffs of all ages with all budgets.

Colin: More than I could ask for in a Music Store experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I brought a guitar to trade in and put the money towards the purchase of another expecting to haggle on the price. Instead I was given a great deal off the bat and they threw in a free hard shell case. Any time I’m back in this area I’ll be paying this place a visit.

Mike Workman: I was considering to buy this g-400 epi Toni Iommi edition. I was skeptical at first ,the set up was horrible like it never was played. One of the tuners had a bad screw. They had their tech fix it up and it was like a different guitar. I was very pleased at the results and the price was fair for the condition and they even gave me a nice case for it. This is one of the old school misic stores left around .Nice helpful staff I RATE AT 100%

Josh Hess: I visited for my first time today and traded a few guitars I didn’t play for a really nice guitar. I couldn’t have asked for a more helpful people and satisfying experience. They were extremely fair on my trades and they have great prices on the gear in the store. Although I’m about 90 minutes away, they’ve earned a customer for life. 🤘

Tj Tj: My favorite place! They are the absolute best.Whatever u want, They make it happen

Daniel Tana: I’ve been shopping for guitars and other gear at Atomic music for 20 years now, and they’ve never let me down. If you want a guitar, bass, amp, etc. and don’t want to spend a fortune on something new, you absolutely can’t beat them for used gear. They guarantee everything they sell used so if you have a problem with it, they’ll take it back within 30 days. They also have a great buy back policy so if you’re someone like me who’s slowly upgraded to nicer instruments over the years, you know you’ll get a good price selling back a guitar that you bought there if you want to upgrade it a few years later. I recently found what would have been a 400ish dollar Marshall combo amp there tagged at $219, played it in store, and walked out with it for an even better price. Unbelievable. I’m just saying, it’s worth a trip or a call/email to them if you’re looking for something specific, and you can find some great stuff if you have time to browse around their inventory. So before you go to Guitar Center or whatever, check them out. You’ll be supporting an awesome and vital local/regional business and you’ll probably find a really good deal too!

Ed Gallagher: Great Store and team. Brought in a bunch of lefty Guitars and Helix Floor. Got a great and fair price! They are the best!

J C: I visited to sell some music gears. They’re pretty big and had lots of varieties at the store! Staff were so kind and friendly. If you’re looking into buying instruments or selling them, you should definitely check Atomic Music for sure!!:)

Melodee Music: what do users think?

Kevin Caldwell: Chris put a new set of Seymour Duncan pick ups in my new Gold Top Les Paul & he also did a set up on it. Chris was very professional from the start did a fantastic job on the pick ups and the set up. It plays and sound Amazing. He had the job done in less than a week, 5 days to be exact. Thanks Chris

Hans Waschitzki: I had some string buzz on my guitar that I could not fix on my own and brought in for repair. I thought I was going to leave it there for a few days but they quickly diagnosed the issue (loose tuning pegs) fixed it and I was out the door in 10 minutes. Great service!

Shervin Naderi: Just bought two guitars from here. Very nice staff. Nice selection. They actually had two Cordoba c12 on the showroom floor and their price was $200 less than msrp. None of the GuitarCenters had a single one in their stores and had to bring it from their warehouse a few days later and their price was higher. Very happy with this place. Forget online shopping. Always nice to support local businesses. Will come back for more.

Eel 34: Confirming that grouchy old guy still works here. I went in to check out a very specific custom shop strat they had in stock (used). 1. They pulled it out of a shipping box, explaining it had sold but the order was cancelled last minute. I think the guitar was probably quite nice but the action was half an inch off the frets, and the neck so dirty it was sticky with the humidity. So these guys don’t know how or choose not to setup (or clean) a guitar they are selling. 2. I mentioned that the vintage silverface Princeton I tried to play the strat thru didn’t make any sound, and I checked everything (power/speaker) was plugged in and it powered up. ( I used a deluxe reverb they had instead). Grouchy old guy said there’s a standby switch, and I laughed, “On a Princeton?” And he said oh yeah. The younger employee who had gotten the guitar out for me and was very courteous about it went over to check it out and verify that indeed, the Princeton doesn’t have a standby switch. There is some decent gear in your store that needs work! And just a tip, someone walks in asking about a very specific $3k guitar (and then you hear they can play it) maybe try talking to them. Almost 20 yrs I’ve been down the road from this store, and I’ve easily spent $50k+ elsewhere on music gear. Actually surprised they are still around.

TJ Sanner: Amazing experience!! Spent hours hanging out and looking at acoustics.

Sibel Ozturk: Great store, helpful staff! You can find all kinds of musical instruments and resources. Highly recommended
Response: Thank you for the kind words, and thanks for shopping at Melodee Music

Metro Guitar Service: what do users think?

Natascha Adams: Greg did a fantastic job of fixing my guitar - the fret board was pretty badly warped, and he managed to fix it completely within 6 hours. Fairly priced, amazing service, and my guitar sounds better than it had done in years. I’ll be coming back for all guitar needs.

Brandon Kennedy: Positive: Professionalism, QualityBeen using this guy for years. Very responsive to emails and phone calls. He’s fixed my guitars on the spot multiple times while I waited. Fair prices and easy to work with. Has been and will continue to be my go to for guitar repairs, this one is a no brainer.

justin Dobak: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueGreg is the best guitar tech in the DMV. I have brought several high end and low end guitars to have everything from repairs to general setups. His work is always top notch. Quick and very affordable as well.

Brigid DeTreux: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValueGreg is awesome! Could not recommend Metro Guitar enough. I brought in my Epiphone Les Paul Standard and J.B. Player for a string change and setup. Both feel like new! Great service and turnaround time. Will definitely be back with my other instruments.

Lord Theodore: excellent service... I had my fender strat changed with all new hardware, strings, neck straighten and retuned. Greg gave me constants updates on the progress of my guitar. Metro Guitar has very fair pricing, great experience and excellent service....

Steven Sharp: It was easy to arrange a drop off/pick up with Greg and he made my cheap Yamaha sound much better than when I brought it in. Easy to park at the business. My guitar must have been seriously out of wack because not only does it sound much better, the adjustments made it much easier to play as well. Stopped in a second time for a quick look/setup of a brand new Fender Strat. Based on a few questions he did it while I waited and charged a very reasonable price for a basic setup. Again, Greg does excellent work and is very recommended.

Ryan Fowler's Guitar Experience: what do users think?

JJ Surma: Laid back place with a great selection of pro gear. Props to Ryan Fowler for stocking left handed guitars occasionally — would love to see more like this sweet Duesenberg! I’m an hour and a half away and consider this place totally worth the drive.

Luke Tharp: Hands down, the best local guitar store. Ryan and his team are friendly, knowledgeable, and have a great selection with good prices. Recommend this store to anyone looking to pick up some new gear.

Trent Pedersen: We had a very pleasant experience here! Staff is helpful without being “too” helpful. They give you space to try different instruments and form your own opinions but are there if you have questions or want recommendations. I ended up getting a great deal on a used Breedlove and have been very pleased thus far.

Zach Bellas: Love this store and Ryan is very active and supportive of the music community in Maryland. They also work with the Warrior Music Foundation which is another great organization to be associated with. Had another awesome experience there today and the sales person Adam went out of his way to help me get a killer deal on the gear I was purchasing. Highly recommend!

John Kallok: Best store I have had dealings with since I moved to Maryland in 1995 after getting out of the military…. Great knowledgeable staff who will treat you well and that goes a long way these days!! I traded a strat for a strat, but was there to buy a mint fender Eric Johnson thinline, but it was sold an hour before I arrived. The point is that I called about that guitar at least 2 times and they offered to put it on hold for me with no money down!!!! I’m biased, but they have the best inventory I have seen in a music store and I give their professional staff a thumbs up!!!!!!

Christian Benford: Super chill store. Everyone is laid back and really friendly. Will answer any question you ask. Good selection of items too with reasonable prices. Guitar repair tech recommended getting my electric “set up.” So I will definitely be back for that. Thanks again guys.

John Bonelli (JFact): Great guitar shop. I ordered a Suhr guitar. Ryan and his crew were a pleasure to deal with. Completely hassle free and professional. I would recommend this shop to everyone.

Chris Defeo: Always a pleasurable experience at Ryan Fowler’s! Steve, their guitar tech is phenomenal at his job. He along with Chelsea offered a lot of knowledge on gear available. I recently purchased a Head Rush powered PA speaker and Strymon pedal because of their insight. Highly recommend!

Guitar Center: what do users think?

Eric Montoya: Needed more info on in ear monitors and to purchase a Marshall amp. Griffin the sales rep was infinitely knowledgeable on the topic! Gave some solid advice and pointed me in the direction of some affordable quality brands. Any place you leave with more knowledge than when u went in will always get 5 stars from me...
Response: Hi! Thanks for your business and feedback! We are happy that you had a good experience with our staff. Please let us know if we can ever be of any service in the future. Thanks again!

Kaitlyn: I went to Guitar Center today not realizing how busy it would be due to father’s day. I do not know much about anything but know I wanted to get my dad a guitar and expected to be able to find help, which is exactly what I found when I entered this store. I wanted to thank Nick and Austin on helping not just me but everyone else who came in the store today. Busy is an understatement and they were also understaffed on top of that. Nick took his time to show me different guitars and tell me their brands all while playing a few chords to hear how they sounded and ultimately helped me pick out the best guitar for my situation. Austin was who checked me out and he was being hounded by customers some understanding and some very impatient. He handled it amazingly and treated everyone with respect and a smile. I know what it feels like to be in a situation with a job that is busy and to be short staffed on top of that is the absolute worse. They both deserve to be recognized for the hard work they put in but still being able to provide the best customer service given the busy circumstances. I was very pleased with my experience and would recommend this store and their employees to anyone who is seeking guidance in guitar world. My dad was extremely happy with the guitar he was gifted!
Response: Happy to hear that we got you taken care of even though it was so busy. Thanks for the review!

sixquickthrusts: I stop at this location on an at least monthly basis. Staff is knowledgeable and super friendly. Great selection as well. Their guitar tech, Giovanni, is a super knowledgeable and skilled technician. I’d not only recommend this location not only for someone in the market for equipment. But also for the repair service. Prices are extremely fair and Giovanni knows his stuff.
Response: Hi! Thanks for your business and feedback! We are happy that you had a good experience with our staff. Please let us know if we can ever be of any service in the future. Thanks again!

James Nusky: Bought a German Hofner bass guitar today @ Allentown Guitar center. I had to trade up. Of course you never get what you want for your gear. I have to say I got it all today. This was a used guitar, but it was like new. Excellent condition. Jon in sales was great. No nonsense. Very fair. Great place to shop. It was worth the ride from Philly.

Evelyn Simmons: Check out service was very pleasant w/ Jacob! He took my returns and looked up online and found item I described, with a pleasant and patient attitude and a smile! Gave me opportunity to look at comparable items to ensure my satisfaction! He could work for me any day!😊👍🎈🦋
Response: Happy to hear it! Thanks for the review!

DOOP: Love this place! Recently spent 2 hrs and one of the employees, unfortunately forgot his name, was very kind and taught me a few things about barre chords. will definitely be going back
Response: Thanks for the review!

Angi Krempel: Repair was very well done. Thank you Ryan. Customer service at this location leaves something to be desired. One cashier who is easily distracted is answering calls, talking to customers testing out equipment by the register, and handling the line. He would not focus on just one thing or customer at a time and it was causing major delays. We are patient people but this location will not be used going forward.

Walter Luna: So they had a used guitar in there platinum section I drove 90 miles to look at. I had 2 trades to help me out. I took one of the trades offers which was decent. I do understand that GC offers used guitars buyouts at pretty much what they buy new for. The reason I TRADE UP at GC is to get the 10% off an item purchased, eases the pain. Well I was getting a used item so no 10% bummer, new news to me. Im still excited since the guitar feels awesome. Then its time to get the guitar case from the back. No case found. After about 20 minutes they bring a case that looked like it was stained and the lowest of low quality. I was told thats the case the previous owner brought in. I find that hard to beleive. Haha what a joke. I tried to lower price at that point. No negotiations what so ever. I wanted something. Well there was no gun to my head, I took the guitar but no warm and fuzzies here. If i would have bought new, the price difference-10%-case price would have been =. By the way the case is $220 new. Sometimes when you drive 90 miles and really like a guitar you make decisions that are not the greatest. It was a Prof II tele I was getting and the neck felt better then my ULTRA. I have spent alot of money with GC and even though I lose in GC trades I have done the dance several times. Well I learned a big lesson and was reiterated on others. Sorry guitars with low resale value I will never buy your brands again as I will be doing my own selling myself. I am hesitant to ever go back to any GC again, no more warm and fuzzies here.
Response: Hello Walter, Thank you for messaging us. I apologize for the inconvenience and the poor service you experienced at this location. D Childs: On May 10th, I packed my bass and after a in-office work day, I drove the Towson location and arrived about 30 minutes before my lesson. At 6:20pm, I enter the store and found a sign on Room C indicating that lessons were CANCELED. I am FURIOUS as not one staff member at the store thought it would be a good idea to call or text or email to let me know so that I would not waste my time, effort and gas to get to the LESSON THAT WAS NOT TO BE. Clearly, Guitar Center did not respect my time – SO DISRESPECTFUL. This is extremely poor customer service. While I am using caps, I diplomatically spoke with an employee named Matt who apologized and explained that due to a sudden resignation of two of three bass instructors, that they were essentially in a bit of a bind. The one remaining bass instructor only teaches on Saturdays and basically all of their slots were filled. When I asked why no one provided advance notification, there was no suitable reason provided. At this point, I am not willing to wait until Guitar Center gets its staffing in place at this location. I want a complete refund of the previously paid for lessons and I will take my business to another place that respects my time.
Response: Hello, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I would like to apologize, we want our customers to not only feel comfortable in our store, but also receive the assistance they need so we take instances like this very seriously. Tierra Oskay: I rented some equipment from here. It was a quick process and the staff was awesome. That female bathroom needs prayer, an exorcism, and a deep clean.
Response: Thank you for your feedback and your review!

Mike B: Prices are higher when you check out on accessories than as marked on the displays. Requires a phone number to transact any purchase. Employees stand around and play instruments rather than assist customers.
Response: Hello Mike, Thank you for messaging us. I apologize for the inconvenience and the poor service you experienced at this location. We will look into this to correct these problems and to see that the necessary improvements are made. It is important to know, that we appreciate your business. Please email us at yourvoice@guitarcenter.com if you need any further assistance and we will have someone from the Towson, MD store follow up to see that you are properly taken care of. Thanks!

Garrett Park Guitars: what do users think?

Logan Allen: I purchased a vintage Rickenbacker 330 from an auction, which needed some repairs to it. The first few frets needed to be put in, the pickups changed to the original high gain ones, the nut to be reinstalled, and some other minor fixes. After being recommended by one of my coworkers, I took my guitar to Garrett Park Guitars. I was welcomed by the friendly and knowledgable staff right from the start. The luthier did a fantastic job assembling my guitar and the price for repairs was very reasonable in my opinion. Thank you Garrett Park Guitars for allowing me to finally have my dream guitar and making the process seamless! Keep up the good work!
Response: Thank you Logan, we appreciate you & your business!

John Filer: Super friendly customer service from the very knowledgeable staff. Great local guitar shop with everything you need to get jamming. After you grab your new guitar they even offer lessons.

ryan finnerin: Great staff here. Their luthier Taras is top notch. He re-fretted a vintage p bass for me in under a week. He took the time to sit with be before hand and address any concerns I had and best of all he listened very intently to every concern and request I had for him. He did an immaculate job, addressing every detail that I spoke w/ him about. Great guy, quick work and the best re-fret I have ever had on any guitar. Highly recommend.
Response: Hi Ryan, thank you so much for your kind review and we are pleased that you are so happy with our service. We look forward to seeing you in the shop again soon. Thank you, Rick Hogue

Captain Aloha: Lucky to have them in my area. Amazing selection and a team that goes above and beyond. Set ups are on point and their repair people do a good job. Can’t wait to get my next guitar. Nick has helped me out tremendously as well.
Response: Thank you Captain, we appreciate a five star review. Rick Hogue

James D. Gilmour: The staff is very friendly, but gave me "space" to try out many of their guitars, before choosing a beautiful Breedlove, which I bought at a great price, and they set up perfectly. I could not be happier with my experience!
Response: thanks for your review and we are certainly glad you had a good experience and look forward to seeing you soon!

James Guiler: I fist made contact with Rick back in early 2000.His knowledge on guitars is second to none. I have purchased a number of guitars from over 6000 miles away. Impeccable integrity, patience and honesty. After much work and many visits to the PRS factory, he got me the guitar of my dreams. How he made a profit after all his time and effort can only be explained by his desire to make many customers happy. If I need advice, he returns my communication sometimes within minutes , but alway that day. Fifteen years of rock solid help and advise. Very highly recommended
Response: Thank you Jimmy!

Guitar Center: what do users think?

Kim Meki Toalepai: I brought a vintage guitar and vintage amp in I was looking to sell. They received a thorough examination by Corey and he also took photos and sent to vintage “corporate” for a quote to offer me. I left with the quotes to go home and consider. Corey said I could counter offer and I called back with a counter offer which we sent on the corporate and I never heard back despite contacting Corey repeatedly, he never heard back from corporate. That was January 10…how much longer is the wait???!?

Carson Slade: Bill and Tyler were very helpful. I was coming in from out of state to trade some gear for a used instrument. Everything went very smoothly and both of them answered my questions no problem. No complaints here, would indeed recommend.
Response: Happy to hear it! Thanks for the review!

Kevin Taylor: stopped in today to get some advice on the equipment I bought from this very store a year ago and some equipment I bought third party to do a podcast. wanted to get some suggestions on what I could add to enhance the sound. Thanks to Eli for your help. you were awesome.

Zachary -: I love coming here and have bought a few guitars here over the years, but the last time i went in whoever was there working was very unfriendly. I cant say I have ever had an unpleasant conversation there my whole life until last week

Willie GoodTimes: Nice store, much more open than the Towson location, not so claustrophobic. I waited for about 10 minutes with just an MPK while three employees delt with a customer with a amp. An employee who helped me,Brandon I think? Was friendly, helpful and no pressure. Will definitely return!

James LaVine: Very happy with my purchase. I am out of stare and ordered a guitar from this GC. Awesome timing, packing and description. Thank you guys and gals!
