CityPaws Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Gabrielle: I used to really enjoy taking my pets to CityPaws but the management has gone downhill lately. The vet we most recently saw spent under 10 minutes with my dog and clearly wanted to leave as soon as possible. When we asked about vaccines we were told there wasn't time and to come in for a quick appointment in the future. When we brought her back in the vet again spent less than 5 minutes, suggested an x-ray for 24 hours of diarrhea (which we declined) and charged us over $300 including another examination cost without any transparency. After discussing how we were led on to believe this would not be the case, CityPaws did nothing except charge our card multiple times as soon as possible. I would recommend going to Friendship or any other facility to take care of your animals.
Response: Thank-you Gabrielle for the 5 stars.

Zachary Denney: Positive: Professionalismwhen I arrived today they were able to squeeze me in for my puppy that was having breathing issues. They were very nice and made me feel at ease. My puppy is much better but I appreciate them helping her at the last minute
Response: Zachary, Thank you so much for the kind review. So glad to hear that we were able to help!

Olga F: I haven’t been here yet because when I called in the front desk manager immediately cut me off as I was trying to explain my issue and said “have YOU ever been here before?” When I said no, she said the wait was 4-6 weeks. I said that unfortunately I couldn’t wait that long and started to say that I’ll check with other places to which she responded “well that’s the wait for everybody!” I think City Paws can benefit from some nicer staff.
Response: Hello Olga, We are disappointed to read of your review. Would you please call us at 202-232-7297 and ask to speak to the practice manager. Best, CityPaws

David M: Doctors are amazing. Support staff leaves a little to be desired. On my last visit, the assistant said she was pregnant and couldn’t pick up my (petite 10 pound dog) so she decided she would drag my already scared baby across the lobby down the hall. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk nurse, she argued with me rather than apologize.
Response: David, We are disappointed to read of your review. Please know this is not the standards we expect of our staff. We will have someone reach out to you today to learn more. Best to you, CityPaws

Cierra Piggott: I do not usually write reviews but the outstanding service my dog received today deserves recognition! She got to a small chicken bone outside and although I got most of it out of her mouth, she was acting uncomfortable and like she still had something stuck in the back of her throat. I first called Friendship emergency vet and they said they had a 1-3 hour wait (plus it is a 20 minute drive). I was about to leave but my husband called City Paws and told them the situation. They said bring her right in. I got there abt 10 minutes later and the staff was waiting outside the front door to meet us. They took my dog back immediately for the doctor to examine her, while I gave check-in info as we had never been there before. They called me back to speak to the doctor 5 minutes later. The vet was extremely smart and friendly. Overall the service blew me away. Everyone from start to finish was so nice and made me feel at ease. My dog perked up significantly and was back to her normal self before we left. I was back home in way less than 1 hour from when she even ate the bone. Thank you!!
Response: Thank you for the wonderful review. We are so pleased we were able to be there for you all. Best, Stephanie

Aerica Shimizu Banks: I’ve been a longtime client, since 2016 but this will likely be the last time I go out of my way to take my dog here. I scheduled an appointment a week out for time sensitive issues and got on the cancellation list. Was told there were several cancellations today, and rearranged my schedule to drive across town from deep in Southeast to make it. Rush hour starts at 3pm now apparently so hit a ton of traffic but still make it right at the advertised grace period of 15min . Call to check in and am placed on hold for 15 total minutes as we wait outside just to be told to reschedule and that the grace period has changed to 10min. Was I ever notified of this change? No. I received no call to confirm or check in if I was running late. Even the signage at the front desk says 15min grace period. So, two hour roundtrip for nothing. I thought the higher prices were worth paying for the appointment availability and attentiveness but those qualities no longer exist. Not to mention previous requests for medical records were ignored. Infuriating waste of time.
Response: Hi Aerica, We are disappointed to read of your experience. Would you mind giving us a call so that we may learn more.

Murray Penner: I highly recommend CityPaws. Their staff are helpful and professional, and their doctors are compassionate, kind, and knowledgeable. The only negative experience I ever had was having to wait a fairly long time for a nail trim for my cat but it was during COVID and because if a staff shortage so it’s understandable. It’s a quality and well-planned practice that I have complete confidence in. I especially appreciate Courtney up front who is always helpful and efficient.
Response: Thank you so much for the kind review. We will share with our team!

Weller Van Nostrand: The staff is awful specially the receptionists... I think they're not happy with their jobs. My advice to them look for another job! They say is their policy and I believe that this is the true considering that I read before about they only caring about the money. They don't care about your pets. I am going there for a while and always get disappointed with something new. They cannot follow your pet’s history and always do something wrong. The last one for us was the wrong rabies shot they gave to one of our dogs. By the way if you need to take your dog there for an emergency remember that they only take you in if your dog is having a stroke and they’re still gonna charge you the price for an emergency. So good luck for you that decide to take your dog to their care.
Response: Hello Weller, We are deeply disappointed to read of your experience. May we reach out to you to learn more? Best, Stephanie

J sam: They are very professional and friendly. The veterinarian very willing to answer all the concerns regarding the health of our baby. Thank you city pawn. With affection Sophia the husky❤

samantha baker: I've had mostly good experiences bringing my dog here for the past three years in DC. With that being said, when my dog was attacked and I needed someone to look at him immediately the front desk told me they would not see him because they "don't take emergencies" and suggested I go to a Virginia pet hospital. I'm not sure how this is a good solution for those who don't have vehicles, have been a client for years and live one block away. City Paws is great for routine pet needs but when you actually need them they extremely unhelpful.
Response: Hello Samantha, we are disappointed to read of your review. We hope your kiddo is doing well. May we reach out to you to learn more of the call. I am unable to locate your name in our system can you let me know your pets name and the name associated with your account. Best, Stephanie

Union Veterinary Clinic: what do users think?

Bob D.: This is my sweetheart Nilla. I'm 59 years old and and she's the first dog I've had in over 50 years! And yes there have been a lot of great cats before Nilla came, but being with Nilla these last 6 months or so has been one of the best experiences in my life. She's just amazing!
Response: Thank you for your 5-star review! We are so happy to hear about the bond you and Nilla have developed. She certainly is a sweet beautiful girl.

Kelly Leigh Deaton: Every time I take my dog to this vet clinic it’s a great experience. I had a scare last year where he had to undergo numerous tests and the vet called me regularly to update me on what was going on. I highly recommend this clinic. Much better than other clinics I have used in the past. And I never wait to be seen.
Response: Kelly, Thank you for your 5-star review! We are happy that you have had a positive experience with us. We strive to always provide the best care and service for you and your furry family member.

Christine Marie: I have been taking my dog to Union Vet for about 5 years. We have loved our experience. The team at Union Vet is super friendly, informative and helpful. Their exams are thorough and they take the time to answer any question I have. My dog is often very nervous and skittish at the vet but the team does a great job remaining patient and doing everything they can to make him feel safe. I highly recommend Union Vet!

Amanda Clinton: The staff is so kind to my Maizy - always patient and gentle with her. Dr. Appleby is great! He was thorough, never made me feel rushed, explained options and costs for my dog’s treatment and generally has a stellar bedside manner for animals and their humans. He is also very knowledgeable about Rx and specific conditions in my breed of dog. I recommended him to my friends seeking a vet. Thanks to the rest of staff, as well, who helped with the vaccines and payment. Everything went very smoothly.

Monique Hardy: Union Vet has always shown great care and consideration to me and my dogs. The vets have all worked with me to find the best solutions for care of my dogs, with flexibility and options on procedures, and thorough attention to detail. I highly recommend Union Vet. I believe they have the best interest at heart for my pet's health.

Aj Rp: This is the most expensive veterinarian clinic I've ever been to in my entire life, so prepare for good gouging. If there is an opportunity to charge you or up charge you, they will guaranteed. I've been here two or three times and always felt the staff had a bit of an edge to them. However, today was my last visit to this Clinic as the staff was beyond rude to the point where other customers outside shook their head and vocalized their amazement . i attempted to ask a staff member how much longer because I was told 25 minutes and was sitting outside in my car for an hour and 45 minutes. He ignored me totally. After calling a couple of times he came out dropped my dog's leash and medication on the ground and walked inside telling me off as he walked away. If that all was not enough, last thing I will say is I have yet to see a single dog walk out of that clinic that did not look like it was having a panic attack which makes me wonder how well the staff is treating the animals.

Kate Scandura: We have had a fantastic experience with Union Vet. We were going to another vet in the city, but that vet couldn't take us for a spay appointment for several months, so we contacted Union Vet, and they were able to get us in for a pre-surgery exam within two days and for the spay within a week after that. The pricing was also the most reasonable in the area that we could find: $555 for a spay (plus more for the pre-surgery exam and bloodwork and other incidentals, but it seemed like that was pretty standard). We were also really impressed with the vets and their staff. They spent much more time explaining everything to us and giving us our options than our previous vet did, and they were all very friendly and seemed very knowledgeable and competent. The spay went great-- our pup's scar is about as small and neat as you can expect, and she has recovered very quickly. They have also been very available for any questions we have had. I highly recommend Union Vet!
Response: Kate, Thank you for your 5-star review! We are delighted to hear that your puppy had a smooth recovery after her spay. We strive to provide the best service and care possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you and your pup need anything else.

Audra Dykman: I moved from overseas and my dog had not been able to necessarily have the same level of care where I was posted. The team was very understanding, talked me through different tests vs. vaccinations in addition to types of illnesses to watch out for in the DC area and helped answer all of my questions. Can't say much on costs as I'm coming from a place where I had house visits for less than $50. :)

Brooke Sherman: The staff at Union Veterinary is knowledgeable and friendly. I just moved to DC and am very happy I selected them as the vet for my new cat! Overall very positive experience for me and my pet.

Marvin Miller: I just can’t recommend this vet. We brought two cats here and they were siblings. Four years ago, due to liver failure, we put her brother to sleep and they botched it — he was facing away from us and as soon they sedated him, his heart stopped. And we didn’t have a chance to say good bye. This time, her sister was 19 years old and in rapid declining health. She absolutely hated vets so we didn’t bring her in. Would not take pills or even mixed in food. She wasn’t stupid. And because it was some time since we last brought her in, they said they had to do quality of life exam and kept asking me - rudely and coldly - implying we could have done this or that. I was floored. We struggled with the decision but we knew it was time. And the vet made me feel horrible and she did nothing to assure me. Very judgmental. She reluctantly admitted there was a lot of issues with her at end. They went ahead and put her to sleep. To add insult to the injury, I was told it would be $170 on phone. No. The final bill was $420. Just be warned. And I honestly do not know why I returned to this vet again. I will not again.

Friendship Hospital For Animals: what do users think?

Jessica Rubenstein: Friendship Hospital for Animals has done an amazing job with both our cat and our dog. Last year they saved our cats life by correctly diagnosing him with FIP when another vet across town missed that diagnoses. Our cat would have died within weeks without Friendship getting it right. This year, our dog needed a fast-growing mass removed so we went to Friendship again. She has had masses removed before at other vets but this time the incision looks AMAZING and she’s healing so well. Friendship also has an incredible ophthalmologist at their location, which I didn’t know doggy ophthalmology was even a thing until we needed one. The ophthalmologist immediately knew how to care for our dogs degenerative eye condition that other vets missed. After paying the deposit for our dogs surgery and not needing all of the services, the billing department quickly refunded the services we ended up not needing. We recommend this vet to everyone.

D Charlie: The Best Skilled and Professional service. These people took OUTSTANDING care of my Dog Uncle Charlie! They have all the EQUIPMENT your pet needs and Uncle Charlie received top quality service. My Dog is 15 and Friendship showed him great Respect while handling. I LOVE Friendship Animal Hospital and I thank GOD for everything!

Malia Coppage: I took my dog , Mariah, in for an emergency in the middle of the night this week. I was really impressed with the staff and the care they provided for my dog. Everyone seemed to genuinely care and they were very sweet to her and to me. I would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Asher Feldman who saw her on ER and to Dr. Allison Haley and her neurology team for taking care of her the following day!

Michael Black: Absolutely incredible. They handle a very large volume of pets, and while the wait time was very long it was absolutely worth it. My dog came in with a bite wound and the staff checked me in calmly, the doctor reassured me and kept me perfectly informed along the way. The front staff was very professional; on top of everything they were adjusting the pictures in the lobby so the frames weren’t crooked. You should know that: - the wait time is long - emergency procedures are expensive But I would wait even longer and pay even more for this quality of service. 100% recommend for an emergency alternative to your primary vet.

Gracie Meringer: I had to bring my dog here a few nights ago. She was seen quickly, diagnosed quickly and they filled her prescriptions immediately. Total our visit was less than 2 hours. Dr. Perry explained everything thoroughly, answered all of my questions and clearly really loved my dog. She was carried by the staff in a blanket because of her injured back. They all clearly cared and were easy to work with. My follow up questions and emails were answered so fast, and when I needed more medicine they filled it immediately. I hope your pet never needs an ER/Urgent care visit but if they do, this is absolutely the place to go.

Daniel Patterson: Friendship recently saved my dogs life this past weekend. I brought him in Saturday for lethargy, loss of appetite, and overall inactivity. They checked his vitals, which all looked good, and gave me the option for additional bloodwork or just to give him some anti-nausea meds and see how he did on a bland diet. I chose the second. The next day, he was still not any better and I started getting more worried, so I brought him back. They ran further tests, discovered a ruptured gallbladder, and performed the dangerous emergency surgery to remove his gallbladder and clean out his abdomen. Throughout the process, Friendship's staff never sugar coated anything, were very honest and blunt about prognosis, and answered our questions best they could. They called generally when they said they would, and treated him carefully and thoroughly in the days following surgery (even sending us photos). While we still have a long road ahead of us, Friendship bought us more time with our beloved pup and we are very thankful for that.

Maggie Chan: I brought in a stray cat that I was hoping to adopt and keep. I had taken him to my usual vet across town who had checked him out and indicated the cat was in good health and for vaccinations. Within days, the cat quickly spiraled downhill so I quickly rushed him to Friendship Hospital for Animals on a Sunday. Yes, the wait was long but I was very appreciative of Dr. Murphy who was detailed and thorough with the diagnosis and options. Despite a long day (I brought the cat in at 2 pm and at 2 am, she was still there), she was patient, compassionate, and answered all my questions. It was heartbreaking to have to put the cat down but it was also reassuring that Dr. Murphy did her best to help keep the cat comfortable. Thank you.

Kate Wall: We've had good and bad experiences with Friendship's emergency team over the years, but this time they were fabulous! Came in with our new kitten who'd hurt his leg. Turned out to be a complicated fracture, and he needed surgery through the specialist orthopedics team. Both the emergency and specialty teams were wonderful, and he's healing beautifully. Everyone was kind, compassionate, and caring. We really appreciated that our little guy was in good hands! Care at Friendship is not inexpensive; you will spend at least a few hundred dollars for an emergency that doesn't require significant treatment, and at least a couple of thousand (can be much more) for surgery, cancer, or other complex/ongoing issues. The sad fact is that these services are expensive, and you'll spend similar money at other emergency vets in the area (we've tried most of them). Friendship's doctors are top notch, and their services/equipment are among the best in the region. So it's worth going to them rather than elsewhere for peace of mind.

Lindsay P: We’ve been bringing our dogs here for years now, and have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars, and it seems like over the past year or two the customer service has gone down hill and the business seems more concerned about profits then care. We’ve received little to no follow up after appointments, and reception has been curt and unhelpful over the phone. We will likely continue coming here only because they maintain the medical history and know our dogs, but we would not recommend this business if you’re looking for a place that truly cares about the well being of your pet and maintaining positive relationships.

Sage Thompson: It's never a great experience when you need emergency care. I took my pet here for emergency care at the direction of my primary vet who did not have the availability for the procedure we needed. I called Friendship the night before we planned on taking him to collect information. The person I spoke to on the phone was very nice and told me to take my pet in the morning for an urgent care appt and call before to make sure I could still bring him in. I woke up early and called again, and they said to bring him in for urgent care. I showed up to drop him off for urgent care and the person who answered the door was incredibly rude and said she didn't think their urgent care was open. She insinuated his case wasn't severe enough for urgent care. She checked with someone else that they were accepting urgent cases. I was really close to taking him to another facility because of this one person. I ended up leaving him there, for which I was thankful, because my pet required overnight hospitalization. The vet was amazing and answered all my questions and explained everything very well. Drop off and pick up is clunky. Friendship called to let me know to pick up my pet and told me to pick him up in 1 hour so he would be ready for us. We arrived to pick him up and we called the # and they told us to wait in our car because it would be a while. The cost of the procedures were less than we were quoted and nobody noticed or offered to check us out. I had to knock on the door and get the staff to refund the remaining amount. Overall, I am thankful Friendship was able to take my pet. Almost everyone was pleasant. I'm sure there is a ton of stress on the animal care community. Usually one rude person I would overlook but when you're already stressed from an emergency I almost made the mistake of not leaving him to get the care he needed. I hope this person was having an off day. I rated 4 stars because the experience intensified my stress instead of having a staff that put me at ease and give me confidence they would treat my pet well while in their care - which is especially important when you can't go inside or be present with the veterinarian.

P Street Pet Practice: what do users think?

Priscilla Thomas: P Street Pet Practice is extremely professional, quick, and friendly when I take my mini dachshund, Bailey, in. Dr. Teferi is clearly extremely knowledgeable about each breed of dog and attentive to individual pet needs. I’m never worried when I drop my dog off to him and the other staff at P Street Pet Practice. They’re great at communication and always update me throughout my dog’s appointment. Something I really appreciate is that they let me know beforehand approximately what I’ll be paying and break down the costs line by line. I’m so happy my dog has a great vet that I can trust to provide the best care for him!

C Banks: Love this veterinary practice. Everyone is so compassionate and accommodating and I really appreciate it and their dedication to the animals they care for. It really starts at the top. Thank you Dr. T and your staff for all that you all do. You make the difficult times in our and our pets' lives a little bit easier and I couldn't be more thankful for it.

Jenn S: I've been so impressed with Dr. Tereri and his team so far! I brought home a rescue pup a week ago, and they were so helpful about making time to fit me in as soon as possible. They were very professional and caring at my dog's wellness check, and even sent a follow up email to check in. One thing that really impressed me: I changed my dog's name in the days between when I initially made my appointment to when I filled out his pre-appointment form--the staff caught this change without missing a beat! They greeted him by his new name the minute he walked in--I wouldn't have blamed them for missing something like that, but they clearly pay attention to detail and truly care about the animals in their care.

Jacquelyn Miller: Dr. Teferi and his staff are so kind and professional. We've had to take our dog in for a few minor emergencies and they are so quick to help and do what they can to fit him into the full schedule. It's a small neighborhood practice with a ton of kindness and empathy for when your pup is under the weather.

Karla Valcárcel: P Street Pet Practice took great care of my cat, Luna, for her annual checkup and vaccination. She was calm and happy after the appointment and the staff seemed so friendly. I’ll be returning to this vet in the future.

Amy Chiou: The vet was terrific! I was pet sitting for a friend and her dog wasn't feeling well. She emailed P Street Pet Practice and they suggested I bring the puppy over. They were open until 7p so I was able to make it over there after work. The vet was expecting us and immediately received the puppy to check her out. I waited in the car (Covid-19) and they were ready with a diagnosis and antibiotics shortly. They billed my friend directly and took down my number so they could call me the next day and see how the puppy was doing. Really lovely experience!

Kimberley Portugal: My dog has severe allergies. He was miserable. We just relocated back to DC and were referred to P St. Pet Practice. They were able to squeeze us in quickly to give my sweet Pete some relief. He is feeling so much better after his visit. Couldn’t have asked for better service.

Hannah Mirviss: Very friendly staff and cute practice. Can be hard to get an appointment like all vets in the area, but attentive and kind to my cat! Will be my primary vet going forward. Thanks!

Tommy Marianos: Amazing place to take your pet! Always extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating. I can't recommend them enough!

Erica Taylor: I love going to this Vet, the doctor and the whole staff are so friendly and caring for my Furbabies and do their best to get my babies in when they are not feeling well. Of course during these times I do my best to call at least two weeks in advance for routine checkups due to appointments filling quickly but overall a great experience would 100 percent recommend.

Banfield Pet Hospital: what do users think?

Rick Javier: Unfortunately, my dog has three mammary tumors. I've been waiting since April 30 for an email of the estimated cost for the removal procedure. I've called multiple times a week and have been told I would receive an email within a day or two. There has been no response or call back from voicemails. After a 40 min phone call, I was told the vet is out till Friday, and MAYBE another vet can get back to me.This location is overbooked, stretched thin, and doesn't have the capability to care for the urgency of this matter. Yet, they will pile in the appointments to rank in their funds.
Response: Hi Rick, we're sorry to hear about these challenges, and we'd like to follow up. Please email us at BanfieldCares@banfield.com with your account details along with the best way to reach you.

Catherine Delaney: I will not be bringing my dog back to Banfield. We have been plan members for over 5 years. We have rarely needed to bring her in for emergencies or due to her being sick, but when we have there has been at least a month wait with no options to bring her in sooner. What is the point of being a preferred plan member if your dog can’t be seen when sick? Not to mention the woman on the phone was extremely rude and not helpful. Many people warned me not to bring our dog here and I wish I had listened. They took our money monthly and when we actually needed them for something they were beyond dismissive.
Response: We're sorry to hear about the challenges you've had making an appointment, Catherine. If you're an Optimum Wellness Plan member, don't forget you can also access Vet Chat and talk to a vet 24/7 from the Banfield website or app. We'll share your concerns about scheduling and availability with the team and help them find a scheduling solution. If you would like to discuss this with your local hospital's leadership team, please email us at BanfieldCares@banfield.com with your account details and the best way for us to reach you.

Chris Douglass: I cannot wait to cancel "care" with this joke of a veterinary facility. They do not care about the health of your pet. They are never available when your pet has an illness. You will wait 3-4 weeks for an appointment and end up taking your pet to urgent care. Save your money, and more importantly, save your pet's health and go anywhere else.
Response: Hi Chris, our aim is to provide a positive experience to everyone coming to our hospitals. We understand you were not satisfied and would like to follow up on your experience with us. If you wish, please reach out to our Client Advocate Team at BanfieldCares@banfield.com at your convenience, so we can try to address your concerns.

Deirdre Marie Hawkins: We brought our dog in for what we believed to just be a case of diarrhea. We received a phone call stating that he had pancreatitis. We picked him up and never talked to doctor upon his pickup. Instead, we were given meds to help combat the diarrhea. So, naturally we didn't think it was as serious of an issue. Prior to this appointment our dog hadn't eaten in a few days. After one day of attempting to give him meds, we called back to get him an earlier follow up. Which was impossible as they were booked out into July. So, we decided to take our baby to the emergency room. His case was apparently a bit more serious than we knew or were told. Our ended up staying in the emergency vet for two days; still not able to eat, respond to meds. We ended up having to put him down. My concern for anyone reading this is, to be sure you talk to a doctor AND do your own research even after speaking to a doctor. My husband specifically asked the person at Banfield who he spoke with on the phone is pancreatitis fatal for dogs as it can be for humans, and we were made to believe it would pass in time. This location needs different protocols when checking out their patients; ones that ensure that the doctor talks to the human face-to-face before he returns home.
Response: Deirdre - we are saddened to learn about your experience and would like to follow up with you directly. Whenever you are able, please send us a private message or an email at BanfieldCares@banfield.com with the full name, email address, and phone number associated with your account.

Carolin Tolentino: Really wonderful veterinary practice. Staff (receptionists, vet techs, and vets) are kind, knowledgeable, and patient, prices are reasonable, and appointment availability is pretty good. My puppy is in good hands. :)

TaQuesha Thompson: This place have really went down hill from four years ago when I first started bringing my fur baby here the use to communicate more better and was more professional I don’t know if they are under new management or what but it is a mess. I was told my baby was due for a vaccination from 2020 here it is 2022 and no one mentioned that to me at all and she has been there faithfully for the rest of her shots smh but they quick to take your money I have no understanding at all I am looking for a new pet dr. Office to take her to do any one know a good one please thanks in advance I highly appreciate it.
Response: Hello TaQuesha, we're so sorry to hear you feel this way. May we have an opportunity to address your concerns? If you wish, please reach out to our Client Advocate Team at BanfieldCares@banfield.com at your convenience, so we can try to address this situation with you directly.

Michael Arrue: I was arriving late today and I gave them a call and they were very understanding about me being a few minutes late and I really really appreciate, the woman who is talking care of my dogs is very sweet and helpful ( brook)
Response: Thank you for sharing your positive experience. We're glad that you're pleased with your dogs' care, and look forward to your next visit with us.

Alyse Phoenix: Can't give more than 2 stars when its takes almost 2 weeks (13 days) to get in for a sick appointment. Otherwise, care has been good.
Response: We're sorry to hear about the challenges you've had making an appointment, Alyse. If you're an Optimum Wellness Plan member, don't forget you can also access Vet Chat and talk to a vet 24/7 from the Banfield website or app. We'll share your concerns about appointment availability with the team and help them find a scheduling solution. If you would like to discuss this with your local hospital's leadership team, please email us at BanfieldCares@banfield.com with your account details and the best way for us to reach you.

Helen Hatcher: I have had the best experience since I was introduce to Banfield in 2019, they take very good care of my 2 baby which eases my mind...thank you Banfield (The Yard).
Response: Helen, we're glad to hear that you and your fur babies are receiving great service. Your feedback is appreciated. We will make sure to pass it onto the staff. Thanks for partnering with us.

G Madrid: I had a terrible experience with Banfield. I am the first to understand about COVID difficulties, as I lost my Dad to COVID. I was super disappointed in the customer experience. I am searching for a new place for the care of my best friend.
Response: Hi G, we are sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience and we would like to follow up with you to learn more about you visit with us. Please reach out to our Client Advocate Team at BanfieldCares@banfield.com at your convenience so we can learn more and try to address your concerns.

Atlasvet: what do users think?

MJ Kass: They’re super friendly here. My cats were well cared for. There was no pressure for my cats to do what the vet told them. One of my kitties (pictured) is very shy and was coaxed with delicious treats that she definitely appreciated. The techs didn’t even pick them up unless I was okay with it. I can tell they want my animals to live long

Loana Caballero: We absolutely LOVE AtlasVet. The very first time I visited, the front desk greeted us with excitement. Since then, I have visited the office multiple times and the treatment has remained consistent, especially from Zain! He is always going the extra mile to ensure the check in and check out process is done efficiently and stress free. Dr. Zaritsky performed a dental surgery for my 13 year old dog, who was suffering from severe dental disease and the results were better than I hoped for! Their wonderful Tech Manager, Traycie, followed up with me every step of his post surgery and made Caramelo’s recovery a priority. It has been about a month since the surgery and he is now eating kibble again, even with his gummy smile! Dr. White saw my one year old labrador retriever who we rescued from Puerto Rico and is terrified of strangers. She walked in the room and immediately made a connection with him. She even sat on the floor with him the entire time to be at his level and make him feel comfortable! A doctor…sitting on the floor…the entire time… to make her patient feel comfortable, need I say more? She was PHENOMENAL in calming his anxiety and now he wants to go to AtlasVet even when it is just to drop off his older smaller brother. All thanks to Dr. White! Thank you to the entire team at AtlasVet, especially Dr. Miller, Dr. White, Dr. Zaritsky, Traycie, and Zain!

Denise Thomson: We have been going to Atlas for about 4 years with two different dogs. Every doctor and staff member is sweet and caring. They always stay how cute and sweet my pup is which is always nice to here. They have great Covid protocols in place so be prepared.

Alysha Heckman: I have been taking my dog here for about 2 years and have no complaints. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. They are able to give me most of the medicine I need at the time of appointment. You can tell that they really care about the animals and are very accommodating of e-mail communication so you don’t always need to schedule an appointment. Will always recommend to people.

James Ling: My partner and I recently got adopted by a stray cat. Took him to Atlas, they were friendly, helpful and patient with all our questions. They treated him for ear mites, got him properly vaccinated and neutered him. The staff was great at explaining every procedure and medication and they called me after every visit to follow up and make sure everything was going well.

Rachel Antonia Silverio: Atlas vet is always a helpful, empathetic and informative experience. My dog is particularly taken with Dr. Claire, who always listens very attentively to my concerns and takes the time to ingratiate herself with Voltaire. Feel very lucky to have such a convenient and caring Vet nearby.

C Ark: Overall great Vet! Everyone is helpful and friendly. My only issue is their super strict scheduling. I recommend arriving at least 15min early to find/pay for parking, get to the building, and call to check in before walking in. I was running 5min late when I parked and it took another 5min just to get there and check in. I overheard 3 people tell me that I barely made it on time.

Matthew Thackston: The staff at Atlas Vet are always so nice and understanding! We always have a great experience with them, even though our dog is nervous to go to the vet. They're very patient and it's clear they care about owners and their pets. Would highly recommend.

Calliope Crane: Kloeë Dawg established care there today and the care received was personable, lovely, welcoming, engaging, and taught us a lot. We are so happy to have found our vet in DC! 10 STARS FOR THE ATLAS FAM!!!!

Lehna Thompson: The staff at Atlas Vet are nothing short of AMAZING. As a first time pet owner, I would always have so many questions and concerns about my pet's behavior, but everyone I've spoken to has always been, friendly, attentive, understanding, and comforting. One staff member in particular, Zain, is so kind and sweet to both me and my cat. He truly cares about every person and pet that walks through the door and even gave my cat some of his favorite toy mice! Zain and the two doctors I've seen with my cat, Dr. Sanz and Dr. McCurdy, were wonderful and responsive to both my and my pet's needs. I highly recommend Atlas to anyone looking for a vet in the DMV area!!!

Dupont Veterinary Clinic: what do users think?

Marcela Pineda: If I could give 0 stars, I would. My WORST NIGHTMARE! Back in 2020, on a 6th or July, we came with our HEALTHY, HAPPY AND LOVED Yorkshire Terrier- (Cocky) because he had been “acting weird” for the past few hours… he had vomited the night before and was coughing which never happened to him and so we decided to bring him in. As covid was going strong, we were not allowed to go in with him, Dr. MAVERICH took him in, he said his coughing was due to “stomach issues” “nothing to worry about” my sister and I insisted that he double checked as it wasn’t a regular occurrence for him however, again “nothing to worry about” prescribed him some cerenia “for his vomit” and painkillers. However, little did we know that this misdiagnosis and malpractice from this place would lead us to say goodbye to our best friend forever. Hours later, we called because he didn’t seem to get better, same response…We decided to go to the ER at another hospital and they did an RX and found out he had aspiration pneumonia (fluids in his lungs) which they said was obvious by the symptoms described, he was left there in a incubator for hours trying to reverse all the time we had lost from visiting Dupont Veterinary Clinic. It wasn’t possible. absolutely veterinary negligence/malpractice. It went against standard of care, as they didn’t care enough to throughly rule out anything other than guessing “stomach issues” and now my dog is DEAD. Took me two years to be able to write a review, as I am still mourning his death and feel shame for trusting this place and not trusting my gut feeling when I knew something other than what was diagnosed was going on. A tragedy and every pet parent’s WORST nightmare. No one deserves this pain, trusting professionals to MURDER one’s loved pet, not to mention the psychological distress caused on us. Will NEVER EVER recommend Dupont Veterinary Clinic to Anyone.
Response: We are very sorry for the traumatic experience you and family went through. No one should have to go through that. Unfortunately, recommended diagnostics were declined, which would have provided our staff with important information. This inhibits our ability to create a full treatment plan. In our field, the more information we received, the better we can treat our patients. I am not passing any fault on to you. Clients deny aspects of our treatments plans often. But to say that we didn't care or try is something we cannot stand for.

kristi viies: I have been taking my cat and dog there and the veterinarians have been nice, and the staff as well, until recently. Due to the pandemic and all the new puppies they are probably swamped, so I haven’t been able to get an appointment and have been going to Friendship Animal Hospital and VCA SouthPaws. I did, however, take my pup there this morning for wellness exam. I was late, walked in and apologized and said I had an appointment. The woman at the front desk said if you are 15 minutes late, you will have to reschedule. No good morning, no nothing. I looked at the time, it was barely 10 minutes. 7:38/39 instead of 7:30. I could have been the first customer. She left and meanwhile another member of staff walked in, very friendly (5 stars for her), said hello to my dog and checked me in. The first woman returned and said the exam fee is 75, but I would have to pay $150. Or that I can reschedule. I understand, rules are rules. Just be a bit nicer about it? Like sorry but I’m afraid you have to reschedule? However, it is safe to say she was rude. Bedside manners are important. I would expect a veterinarian office (a place full of cute cats and dogs) to have friendly people. I understand, clients can be difficult as well, but so often I see the opposite. So I’m going to a different vet now.

Sean J. Kent: PROFITEER WARNING for most pet owners, man's best friend is another member of the family and deserves the best care, but you need to be alert to profiteers, some of the veterinarians at this place are out to make an extra buck, they pad the bill with unnecessary tests and procedures. Speaking from experience, I suggest you approach this otherwise excellent veterinary clinic with caution -- never hurts to question your doctor so why not your dog or cat's.
Response: We are sorry to hear that you feel this way. Our veterinarians practice top notch medicine, but are also great at giving realistic options for treatment plans that meet a person's stated budget. We are happy to give cost estimates and strive to spend as much time as necessary to answer any questions that clients may have. Most importantly, the veterinarians and staff love animals and treat our patients like they treat their own beloved pets. It is not the first time a reviewer has felt that our costs are high; however, most people understand the cost of retaining high quality staff while practicing high-quality medicine in the heart of Washington, D.C. Trying to scare away clients by publicly labeling our practice with "PROFITEER WARNING" (while not giving any facts to back up the claim or privately reaching out to address your concerns) is unfair and does not take into consideration that the doctors and staff of this business have dedicated their lives to helping animals in need. Although we have never claimed to be a non-profit business, no one gets into the veterinary industry to get rich. If you would like to discuss this further we would be happy to speak with you over the phone or in person." Thank you.

Kayla Cross: Today I was walking my dog and he started pulling on his leash. I was confused before I realized we were across the street from Dupont Circle Veterinary Clinic. My pup loves the people at the clinic so much he WANTS to go to the vet! It shows how well the staff takes care of him. As for quality of care, he’s gone here since he was 9 weeks old - they got him fully vaccinated on schedule during a very busy time and have taken in him for same day appointments when I have concerns. The clinic also did his neutering procedure and he healed quickly with no complications. He primarily sees Dr. Jones, who is extremely knowledgeable and thoroughly answers all my questions. I hope the clinic continues to expand their use of apps like VitusVet and online based appointment/contact systems. All in all, five star experience!
Response: Thank you for the positive review. Our staff really appreciates it. We are very happy that we have been able to provide Oscar with high quality medical care and for yourself excellent customer service. We look forward to seeing you and Oscar again.

Erin McDevitt: I came to Dupont Vet on a recommendation from a friend and I have been very pleased with the care my cats have received over the last two years. My 15-year old has had quite a few health issues since I adopted him three years ago, and DVC has been very helpful in working with me to figure out what is going on. They also did an excellent job on the neuter and care for my 2 year-old and have always remarked on how well behaved my cats are when they come to visit :) On COVID-19 precautions, while a little frustrating to not be in the room with the vet to point out issues over the past year, I understand the need to set up these procedures and am very glad to be back inside the office to be with my cats, especially now that my senior kitty is experiencing some more serious chronic issues. Pricing....not much to be done there. I've been to other vets in the city and price differences are largely negligible. DVC has always understood the cost aspect of getting prescription medicine and has had no problem writing them for me to take to other pharmacies. We do live in an expensive city and the prices are what I pay for the convenience of having a vet right down the street and with excellent care from their staff. I will continue to bring my cats to DVC because of the great experiences with Dr. Rosen and (more recently) with Dr. Randall. I especially appreciate having more than one vet in practice who can see my cats on short notice -- they've made it very clear they review previous visits notes when discussing treatment options and next steps. One thing I would suggest for DVC is to be more upfront on their estimates for surgical procedures. I trust my vets to do the right thing by my cats and I already brace myself for costs, including those unexpected, but it would be helpful to get a better ballpark of what I'm going to pay.
Response: Thank you for the positive review. Our staff appreciates very much. I will make sure the Dr. Rosen and Randall see this. We look forward to seeing you soon.

c ginther: Dupont Vet clinic was recommended to me several years ago by others with German Shepherds. Never been disappointed, three dogs later. Very courteous and helpful front desk, solid vet techs, and expert treatment. While I typically ask for Dr. Dan Shilito because of his German Shepherd experience, I've had other Doctors and have always been pleased. Treatments are on time, communications via email phone and face to face are always clear and easy to understand, and the staff will recommend a whole host of options for whatever is ailing your pet. My dogs have had exams, vaccines, labs and surgeries with these folks, and never an issue. I am very happy with my vet!
Response: Thank you for the positive review. I am gland our staff is able to provide excellent veterinary care and service for many years. We look forward to seeing your family very soon.

Adrian Palma: The staff and vets are professional, attentive, and genuinely care about your pet. However, do think twice before buying any medication directly from them. A generic drug they just prescribed for my dog cost me $70+ at the DuPont Vet Clinic, while online sources price the same drug and quantity at $20. I support local businesses and understand that local prices will inevitably be higher, but this clinic’s med prices should not be 3.5x higher than other pharmacies. Again, this is a great place to get care for your pet, but please do your research on medicine costs before handing over your credit card to the receptionist.

Doug Deming: Franc has made a complete recovery and is back to her loving, playful activities. Dr. Blalock was professional, knowledgeable, kind, and courteous to Franc and us. She is a rare doctor which has all of those attributes. Furthermore, the entire staff was friendly and helpful during our visit.
Response: Thank you for the positive review. We are so happy that Franc is doing well and that you were happy with the care our entire staff provided. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Taylor lewis: Critical: QualityVery disappointed in the level of care from DuPont vet. We have a very anxious rescue, and I would have expected staff to be more kind and not label her as "bad" as I expect more from animal caregivers. We will not return, and would not recommend if you want to feel you can trust your vet to take kind care of your pet.

Kwame Joseph Licensed Realtor: Terrible and rude customer service. Whomever I spoke to have an insulting habit of talking down to you. I cannot and will never recommend this place. The sad thing I used to live down the street from them and I went there out of convenience. How we I cannot recommend becusee they do not know how to talk to their customers!
Response: I am sorry that you had a poor experience. Unfortunately we are not able to provide any goods to patients who have not had a examination with a veterinarian in the last year, or who have overdue diagnostics. This was the case here. Administering preventatives to a patient with overdue diagnostics can be harmful, causing adverse reactions.

Palisades Veterinary Clinic: what do users think?

Tabitha Asher: This clinic’s customer care and service has unfortunately declined as the years continue. I attempted to call and see if there was any prescription food in stock I could stop by and grab as I have done this before and would not receive my online order in time. I am leaving town tonight and will not have enough food for the next 2 days to leave for my cats. First I was told that they do not have the food but that I could order online but would need to get an exam as my cats are less than 1 week past due for their annual exam. I explained that this was never explained to me before that an exam is required for the food, but I don’t have a problem bringing them I just cannot today as I am leaving town and really need food for them so they don’t go hungry. The girl interrupted me as I tried to explain this to her saying it doesn’t matter because I need an exam. Complete lack of compassion or empathy for my situation. Less than 1 week past due should not keep me from getting the food they have been eating for the past year. Additionally, I asked for my cats records as I would be terminating our relationship and for a refund of a fecal sample that was not “good” at their last exam. I said that I would at their next appointment. But since I will not be going back I have asked for a refund and one has not been rendered. My records were sent but with no apology or acknowledgment of any sort. Yes, I should have planned better, but you made me feel helpless today and it clearly came across you did not care about the situation I was in or that my cats would not have food. And to top it all off, the food I had ordered online, they made sure to decline it! And again, not communication or acknowledgment . I am a professional myself where I care for human patients. This is not how you treat people who pay you a high price for you services.

Bradley Fager: My family has been a loyal customers for decades with multiple pets. Unfortunately, this clinic has not been able to handle the pandemic rush in pet ownership well. Their care for existing patients has declined. When I myself got a new puppy, they weren't able to give him boosters in time. It wouldn't make sense for me to go to two different vets, so I changed vets for my older, 9 year old dog. They have also started charging extra for more urgent care that they didn't used to do. It's a shame they can't handle growth well...an opportunity squandered. Avoid unless you want to be treated as expendable and have to wait forever to get an appointment.

Jeff H: I've been going to this vet for over 30 years. This past year made me switch vets asap. Here's what did it for me: - They will give you medicine that is the same but different cost and quantity. For example, I used to get 150 days of meds for $168.00, then they just gave me 50 days worth of meds for $123.50. That's $370.50 for the same amount of days. Just 2.21 times the cost. I was not informed of this change nor the difference in cost. If it is backordered and this is a temporary solution, fine, but you have to tell me! Tell me that I'm receiving one third the amount of meds for over double the cost. One hilarious meds incident was when I called to get some prescriptions filled from the cardiologist they recommended, the woman on the phone said "they don't prescribe medication". Hmmm, then how have I been getting medication from you for the last two years? Seems odd, especially since I was holding a bottle of meds with "Palisades Veterinary Clinic" on the label. I had to convince her that their clinic prescribes medication. I hung up, called back, got someone different, no issues. So, again, the staff is terrible. - My dog was bleeding out her butt one morning. I called them the minute they opened. All their "emergency appointments" were full that day. What? My dog has blood coming out her butt and you will not see her right away? Nope. I could try the next day to see if any "emergency appointments" become available. This happened twice on two separate occasions for different reasons but I'd think blood coming out the butt would be enough of a reason to make some time to at least see my dog for 5 mins. - Does your dog need to get a sterile urine sample? They will give you a pee catcher for $70 to try to catch you dog's pee. Even if you're successful, it will likely be contaminated and you'll have to come in for a sterile sample using a needle anyway. They will constantly find ways to upcharge you. - If a bridge unexpectedly closes and you might be 5 mins late, they make you reschedule your appt that you've had for months. Even if you call to let them know, which is how I found out. Or you can pay a $160 penalty for being a few mins late. But when you take time off work for your 2:30 appt and are standing outside at 2:25, they will let you in at 2:50 if you're lucky, but you don't get $160 from them for wasting your time. Great veterinarians, terrible service, unnecessarily expensive, will upcharge you, horrible staff, and cannot be relied upon for an emergency. Edit: Somehow my review was removed so I'm posting it again. Looking forward to the owners embarrassing and unprofessional response.
Response: We made the medication issue right after management spoke to you on the phone, multiple times. Management personally oversaw the ordering, and shipping of this medication to make up for the initial issue. As for our lateness policy, we have never turned a client away for being 5 minutes late. We typically call clients when they are 5 minutes late, and ask them their approximate arrival time. If they are going to be more than 10 to 15 minutes late, we asked clients to either reschedule or wait to be seen when a doctor is free. Medicine is not an exact science. To predict the exact ending point to each appointment is impossible. Clients in both human and veterinary often have to wait past their appointment's start time for a doctor to begin their examination. I am sorry your pet had an urgent medical problem. Unfortunately, we can't service every client/patient when these situations arise. That is why there are multiple urgent care and emergency facilities in the area. As for your other complaints, it seems like a smaller clinic would better service your needs. I wish you luck in your future endeavors. Thank you for your many years of care we were able to provide your pets.

A P: DO NOT RECOMMEND. My dog had been seen here several times before unexpectedly becoming sick overnight. I called the clinic the next morning, and they scheduled an appointment. I was asked to bring a stool sample, which caused us to be 15 minutes late because it took my dog an abnormal amount of time to go (because she was sick, as I explained over the phone). I called ahead to let the clinic know that I would be late and was told that I would be charged a fee (amounting to $160) because we were late. At that point, I had a choice between my very sick pet not being seen or paying the fee, so I agreed. I waited an hour for the techs to come get my pet and another hour after that for her to be seen. $700 and several tests later, I took my dog home where she continued to get sick for the next several days. I eventually took her to urgent care (I refused to bring her back to Palisades) where the vet diagnosed her with a simple case of Kennel Cough, for which they prescribed an over-the-counter medication totaling $5. The full urgent care visit totaled $200, significantly less than going to Palisades. After my experience, I came here to read the reviews. I agree with several other reviewers that this vet is WAY more expensive than other options throughout the city. They also seem to add on unnecessary services/charges to drive-up the bill, without informing you of the cost first. If you don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on minor issues, I would NOT recommend. The schedulers/tech staff also seemed very dismissive. I would expect a vet that charges so much to have top-notch customer service. Experienced owners may have better experiences.

Melinda Roth: THE WORST!!!!! RUN from this practice which, when you need them the most, will be so overbooked that they cannot squeeze your beloved pet in...My two small dogs were injured at a dog sitter's house yesterday when a big dog got in a fight. I arrived in town late last night and scooped them up and called OUR VET for several years -- Palisades first thing this morning because I knew they needed to be seen -- especially since we are driving to Iowa tomorrow morning for the college baseball national championship (I certainly cannot fly and leave them with the dog sitter). I waited all day, calling several times and at 430 pm was told the Doctors are all leaving at 5 and I should just take them to an emergency room (where there is a 3-4 hour wait and it will be several hundred dollars more). This is NOT how a practice should be managed and how patients should be treated. Not to mention they are beyond expensive, and way more than other practices. Do your pet a favor, and find a practice that cares more about your pets than the money. ************And of course Palisades Vet responds to say they are very busy and they prefer not to refer people elsewhere, but kept me hoping all day long...never got back to me, told me that if only I would have spoken to the right person, they could have found a way...I was just not VIP enough, let's face it. You do NOT turn away HURT dogs in PAIN needing medical attention who are YOUR patients. You find a way. Every medical office has ways of squeezing people in they want to keep as patients. They just don't care because there are more suckers who will pay $20 more per exam than the going rate and when their pets need immediate medical attention, they will tell you to go elsewhere...guess what? I am never coming back and I hope this review reaches as many people as possible so that potential (or even current) customers choose another practice that will be there for them, the way your practice just simply was not...
Response: Unfortunately due to the increased demand for veterinary services in the DC region, our daily fill rate often reaches 100% or beyond. We have made adjusments to our scheudle to provide services for those who need day of care, while limiting the number of new clients/patients and those who do not live in the Palisades neighborhood. Even after these conssions, we are often forced to refer patients to seek alternative care. This is not our preference, but sometimes necessary for us to continue to provide quality patient care. This is a tough decision determined based on patient load and available staffing. Every member of our staff cares deeply for our patients. The only reason to enter this field is due to our love for animals and need to assist them. I hope you were able to witness this over the years in which you trusted our staff with your pets. I wish you good luck in your future endeavors, and know that we will be here if you choose to utilize our services again.

Susan Miller: I took my dog here a few weeks ago. Not only was my appointment late, but the guy (with green hair) had a slight attitude when picking up my dog. They ask you to purchase expensive medications that seem excessive and unnecessary. The hospital just doesn't seem too organized in my opinion. My dog was happy when i got him back so that earned a star. I'd recommend improving customer relations. Especially if you'd like to establish a solid customer base.
Response: I am sorry you were not fully satisfied with service received. I can assure you that our veterinarians do not prescribe medication or preventatives that are unnecessary for you let's health or wellness/preventative care. I would be happy to review your medical recordsto provide better understanding of our recommendations. Thank you for visiting our clinic.

Lindsay Ancellotti: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, ValueI've had poor vet experiences in the DMV, and it was such a relief to be treated so well at Palisades! The customer service was amazing and made me feel at ease about anything going on with my dog. Highly recommend!
Response: Thank you for the positive review. We are so happy to hear that you had a great experience at our clinic. Our staff loved meeting you and Poppy, and can't wait to see you both again.

Susie O'Mara: Positive: Professionalism, QualityI took my mom's miniature poodle there for grooming. Derrick found she had mats and we agreed she needed to have a pretty close shave, not the puppy cut we were planning. She looks absolutely ADORABLE! He did a fabulous job and the staff were all thorough and professional.
Response: Thank you for the great review. We are very happy that you were pleased with Derek's work. Hopefully we will see you again soon.

Laura Carey: We have come here for several years for our cat as it is very convenient. Also, the groomer is fantastic! Our cat recently got a wonderful lion cut which really helps keep him clean (and apparently our cat was totally happy during the process and didn’t require sedation)!
Response: Thank you for the positive review. We are very glad to hear that you are happy with our Groomer. We will be sure to pass review on to him and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Jessica: I brought my longhaired cat here for his first grooming because I was pleased with how they trimmed his nails at his last vet appointment, and I generally was very happy with the experience. I asked them to trim the fur around his face. The groomer shaved through half of his whiskers so they're only about 1-1.5 inches long on one side. (I also asked for the fur between his paws to be trimmed down, but they missed the back paws.) I'm frustrated because I felt safe bringing him here for grooming services since it's a vet that I trust. If you can't have your pet safely groomed at a vet then where can you go? If it were just a cosmetic issue I wouldn't bother leaving a review, but this is not okay for cats, and I expect a veterinary clinic to know that.
Response: I am very sorry that you did not receive the service that you were expecting based on previous visits. I will speak with our grooming team and discuss these concerns to try and minimize this from happening again. I am happy that you trust our veterinary staff and hope to see you again. Feel free to reach out to any member of our management team if you would like to discuss this matter further

CityPaws Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Katie Morton: I recently adopted a dog and have been going to CityPaws since August 2021. When I first adopted him, he was very anxious and unsure of himself. During our first visit, Dr. Knight was so patient, calm, and gentle with him. It was important to her that we make his first vet visit a positive experience. Dr. Knight has great bedside manners and always takes the time to carefully explain any procedures, side effects, and recommendations. I love how she works with my dog and her warm/sunny personality. I've also had very wonderful experiences with the vet techs who are friendly and caring. I always feel like my dog is in good hands at CityPaws.
Response: Katie, Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We are here when you need us. Best, CityPaws

Yoni Buckman: We moved to DC in July 2021 and went to CityPaws because it was the most convenient to where I live. It was such a mistake coming here and I stuck it out for too long. I finally changed vets and have been so much happier elsewhere. Once I started talking about my experience to other dog owners, so many people came out of the woodwork to tell me they had terrible experiences too and changed vets. I'm only writing a review now because I wish someone had given me a heads up, and advised me to switch as soon as I noticed my dog was getting uniquely anxious going to CityPaws, and that his anxiety was escalating with every visit. Scheduling--from our first visit to our last in April 2022--was atrocious. Lost appointments, mixed up appointments, calls that were made to me without prior knowledge of my previous conversations or experiences with them... it was so frustrating. There are a few shining stars on staff, but for the most part, their staff doesn't seem to know how to handle dogs. My dog was getting increasingly anxious for his visits (in my first 4 years having him in another city, he rarely had vet anxiety and those moments were mild, but moving to DC and going to City Paws Uptown...), things escalated quickly, and we've now reached the point where I need to take him to a behaviorist to undue the damage from repeated terrible experiences here. I think my breaking point was when they told me after-the-fact that they had put a muzzle and e-collar on him, which he had never done before. I had a final call with one of the vets after I left detailed emails about how frustrated I was with my dog's care. The vet was very nice, but I didn't trust bringing him back for more. To their credit, they included my emails in his history of care documents to transfer over to the new vet's office we now go to, so they can see the full picture.

Rodrigo Clark-Turrent: Dr. Knight and her team at CityPaws, as usual since we started using the clinic for our dogs’ health since 2014, goes above and beyond to take care of our girls. We couldn’t be happier, nor would we trust the health of our beloved girl to anyone else!

Nina Dsa: This was my first time visiting an animal clinic in DC. I had a really good experience. Everyone was very friendly and warm and as soon as they saw me waiting outside in the cold with my cat, they took him inside and tried to set up a heater for me outside. They were pretty good in terms of Covid practices and I felt very comfortable. They also handled my cat really well, gave him his shots and check-up, and were very affectionate towards him. All in all, they put my mind at ease and were very helpful.
Response: Thank you for the wonderful review.

Cassandra Spencer: Set an appointment, called to let them know I would be a few minutes late (not great, I know). Was told if I arrived within the 10 minute grace period, they would see me. This turned out to be incorrect; they refused to see me even though I did in fact arrive within 10 minutes. I told them I had called on the way to clarify that they would see me, this is why I called. But they went back on their word regardless. I also was frustrated that when I made this appointment, I requested extra time to discuss issues with my senior dog. I was more than happy to pay extra if that means receiving attentive care. They had only scheduled me for a 30 minute routine check up, it turns out. So I will be looking elsewhere for specialized, attentive care. I have emailed this vet before with no response, and it seems like there is zero desire to work in a more specialized manner. This vet is great if you just need a routine appointment for any pet, and don't want a more personal relationship and individualized care.
Response: Hello Cassandra, We are sorry to read of your review. Would you mind giving me a call when you can. Best, Stephanie

Dominic Puller: Visited years ago and had a bad experience with customer service and them not being upfront with billing. After already paying for my visit and all tests I was prompted to pay for additional tests that I was initially told were included in my cat's health checkup. I was then quoted nearly $900 for a dental procedure for my cat. I decided that I had enough of my experience with them and shopped around. I was able to get the same procedure done for 1/3 of what they quoted me.

LKM: Vet's are great, it's just unfortunate that the gatekeepers to vets aka staff are not great. Rude, unhelpful. Literally like pulling teeth to schedule an appointment. I called to make an appt for annual check up - voicemail says to email directly for quicker and more efficient scheduling. Staff responded to my email (apparently they weren't too busy to immediately respond to my email) and told me to call them to make an appointment. I email the vets with my general questions and they respond same day. If the doctors are able to respond in a timely manner I find it hard to believe that the staffers don't have time to respond to client emails. See other reviews below - I have had exactly the same experience as those individuals every time. Again, unfortunate because the vets are good but the lack of customer service and professionalism with the front staffers just caused the loss of another client.
Response: Hello LMK, If you could send us a private message with your name and contact information we would love to learn more about your experience.

Ritha Khemani: I went to 3513 City Paws for info . I was going to be looking after my son’s dog for a few weeks , and they were close to where I lived. I asked whether there were always vets there on the premises. . If there was an emergency , I asked could I drive over to them for some help during her working hours . Before a vet who was right there could answer, a lady at the desk interrupted brusquely and said NO. They were not that kind of a service and they would just ask me to go to a hospital . She mentioned something in Georgetown. I said I was so ignorant about dogs and would they not be able to help for simple emergencies like if the dog swallowed something and was kinda choking ? This lady was so rude ( she told me her name was Brygj) snd said they would just send me to the hospital . They were “a clinic” and not a hospital . I was too taken aback by her rudeness to even ask why they are called City Paws Hospital , in thst case. Could you the owners of this rude place tell me whether this is your policy and if so , why do you mislead people by calling yourself a hospital and not a dog salon ?- since according to her you only do things like cutting toenails and the like ? This incident occurred on June 14 around 3pm . Thanks

Denise W: Bery good care for my cats and wonderful care with cat who had odd symptoms that ended up requiring surgert. They suggested alternatives first before considering surgery.

Marlene Church: This vet office has poor service. never on time with appts, when you call no one answers during business hours and overbooked with time slotsI will not use them but whose another vet to care for your pet

Columbia Pike Animal Hospital & Emergency Center: what do users think?

laurie shulman: Our dog was injured while being groomed and was in severe respiratory distress. We called on our way to the hospital giving our information and we’re basically met at the door. From the moment we walked in our dog was given the absolute best care he could have gotten and we were given updates at each and every step of care. The staff was compassionate, informative and extremely professional. While I hope no one ever has to go through a medical emergency with their pet I would recommend putting your trust in the staff here as they are absolutely outstanding!

Liz Sisk: I brought my young cat in after a bite wound from a neighbor's cat became infected. After having the wound drained and cleaned and antibiotics administered, the wound refused to heal, and over many weeks and multiple visits, the amazing vets at Columbia Pike worked tirelessly to find and solve the root issue, communicating all treatment options, costs, and home care. I even took my cat to my hometown vet for a second opinion, and they confirmed that everything the columbia pike vets recommended/attempted was best practice and fair pricing. Although it was a long, stressful, and unavoidably expensive process, Columbia Pike was able to solve the root of the issue and saved my cat's life while being communicative, flexible, and attentive.

Rebecca Jackson: Last night our dog Haze died suddenly. One minute we were home, and she was fine. The next, we were fighting to keep her eyes open on the way to Columbia Pike Animal Hospital. Without any hesitation, the staff immediately took our girl into their care once we arrived. Unfortunately, our baby girl was DOA.. but what matters is how caring the staff was. They gave us a quiet room, and gave us the time we needed to part with our girl. Thank you to the staff on the clock between 11:30pm-3am. You were all so wonderful. We have never been to Columbia Pike Animal Hospital, but they were the closest vet to us open at that time frame. I will be bringing my other dogs here in the future. Thank you, again, and again.

Klara Cheung: I was able to get an appointment next day when I called for my new puppy. Decent amount of parking. Waiting room is open with benches. Check in was fairly easy. Nurse assistants come out and talk to you to get the history and then take your dog back to the exam room. My dog was fairly scared so he carried her. The exam didn't take long. Dr. Barnett came out and spoke with me and she was so nice and friendly. She was thorough and was really easy to talk to. Pharmacy is right there as well so it's very convenient. I didn't have pretty insurance and the exam and one dose of each the 1 month and 6 month heartworm preventative was around $100. I definitely recommend!

Tree Pulido: I'm editing my original review. I was exhausted and upset and we were adopting a special needs pet that has far more problems than we were led to believe. The positive: Dr. Kalicharan was great - very positive and upbeat and explained everything completely to us. She was a ray of sunshine! The vast majority of the staff was warm and kind, and the woman who checked me in was just fantastic. The negative: We were there for over six hours. Being an emergency hospital, I understand a long wait is likely. We left to have dinner and received a call our pet was ready to go, and my husband returned and was made to wait for yet another hour and a half. (They did have an emergency come in after he had been there for an hour, so any time after that is understandable.) It would have been a thousand times more bearable if we were told the wait may be several hours and that we could return later. The doctor or assistant would come out, say a bit to us and leave, giving us the impression we would be leaving soon and then nothing for another hour. I have previously had absolutely stellar experiences at Columbia Pike Animal Hospital and believe yesterday was an exception. But it really was awful.

Susan Yousuf: My dog was vomiting and experiencing bloody diarrhea when I brought her in to Columbia Pike Animal Hospital. While the cost was no easy pill to swallow, she was seen promptly (quoted a 2-4 hour wait over the phone) and a diagnosis was made with a plan of care in a timely manner. Her doctor’s were compassionate and thorough. Appreciate their care and recommendations for my dog. Would recommend this location for animal emergency and prevention. Hopefully we won’t need to return anytime soon 🤞

Lisa M: I had to euthanize my pet and the staff at Columbia Pike made this process as easy as possible for me. It started when I called and spoke with Alexandra at the front desk. She was so kind and she answered all my questions. She explained my options and told me to take my time and to come in when I was ready. The technician who helped I believe it was Virginia was very sweet too. Then Dr. Leonard who was absolutely amazing. I appreciate the staff here and when I’m ready to get another fur baby I’ll be sure to make Columbia Pike my primary

Trey Taylor: We are first time pet Owners and are pet was having some serious medical issues. When we called we had a wonderful receptionist who helped gather information that way when we arrive we were able to check her in as soon as possible. The doctor that was helping us was Dr Wong and she was such a great person and incredible doctor who took time to make sure our dog was ok but also had the well being of our mental health in mind in all of her decisions. She was so amazing and took this case personally and because of Dr. Wong and her team are Brandy is safe and has recovered!!

Lydia Ray: Remember they are a business. That is along the lines of what Megan, the manager at Colombia Pike Animal Hospital said to me as she showed me the small mention of when I needed to reschedule the next shot on my last receipt. My kitty came for a booster ,but since I was not told by the representative on the phone when I scheduled the booster that my cat needed to be seen sooner, nor did I receive any text alerts or email that are always sent out;I am now paying extra. What was supposed to be around $40 ( the booster I thought I was taking my cat for) is now costing me about $100 as my cat has to go through the process again. For my cats health,I'm all for safe measures and let's be safe, but at least a discount for accountability especially due to the vulnerable situation I mentioned was going on. Her solution was to have the system with my phone number be updated and tell me there are other alternatives. The alternative being scratch pay which I didn't even catch what she said as we moved to a new room because I was emotional about the price change and all together lack of communication on many ends. Also ,I have been coming here for decades with my past cool cats and current ones, my phone is in the system especially as I do come here on an ongoing basis with my other cat. I had spoke to two others and the one more person after her and the communication between them and about the situation seemed to be non-existent. They waved the physicians fee which I was told wouldn't be part of it,thanks.

Kelly Inviere: Love this animal hospital so much! The entire team work so hard to make sure that our cats feel safe and secure in an unfamiliar environment and that my wife and I feel heard and empathized with about our concerns. They are always willing to work with us to come up with a care plan to get our fur-babies feeling better asap and are so compassionate, caring and friendly. Couldn't ask for more for our sweet furry friends!

Clarendon Animal Care - Columbia Pike - South Arlington: what do users think?

Hannah Lyons: We bounced around to a few vets in the area before finding a home at Clarendon Animal Care South. The staff and vets are friendly and knowledgeable. You are seen quickly for your appointments. Pet parents are allowed to come in with their pet (as long as you take appropriate precautions, of course). We look forward to a long relationship with them helping us take care of our pup!
Response: We're so excited to read this, Hannah! Thank you for recognizing our team and we also look forward to a long relationship with you and your pup!

Sara Amin: I have never written a review before but I cannot say enough FANTASTIC things about this vet. An incredible group of people from the front desk to the vet staff. They truly care about the well being of my pets. I've never felt so safe bringing my pet to the vet. Wonderful welcoming group, always take care of my pup and answer all of my questions!
Response: This truly means a lot! Thank you Sara! Our team cares a great deal and we're thrilled we were able to make this experience so positive!

Kel Millionie: This team of pet-care professionals put the tender loving touch into everything they do. No only did they make my super anxious pet comfortable during his exams, they made me feel like he was safe and bring cared after. I highly recommend these fine folks become your go-to for any pet health needs.
Response: Thank you for the recommendation, Kel! We work really hard to reduce stress during visits and it's great to hear that you and Larry Cat appreciated it!

Jenny DeBerry: I am so glad we selected Clarendon Animal Care (South) for our first dog. Every visit we have had has been great. From the front desk staff to the Veterinarian's, everyone is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Skorup and CAC South.
Response: Thank you for the kind words, Jenny! We appreciate you and Phoebe!

Tyler Lawrence: Clarendon Animal Care is a wonderful organization (North and South) with excellent staff from the front desk to the veterinarians - we are very fortunate to have Dr. Skorup take care of our two cats... Unsurprisingly, neither of them is fond of riding in the car or going to the doctor... CAC allows us to bring both of them at the same time, which is convenient for us and minimizes the stress on the animals. CAC's reservation system and communications are easy and seamless. The cost is more than reasonable.
Response: We can't wait to share this with Dr. Skorup and both teams! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this review and recognition of their hardwork!

Scott Wingo: A couple of years ago, I adopted a rescue cat that as it turned out had been exposed to some pretty nasty stuff while living on the street. Ringworm, skin allergies, blisters on her lip, an ear infection, a dental condition that at its worst kept her from eating for several days... you name it. She's now happy and healthy with no problems more serious than a single allergic red bump on her back that crops up every few months. I have to thank the folks at CAC for consistently going the extra mile and really couldn't recommend them enough.
Response: Thanks, Scott - we are always happy to be here for you and Bluesy!

Darwin Angeles: The staff are always professional yet friendly. They have a board to greet your pets when you walk in, and the veterinarians I've worked with (both here and in the Clarendon North facility) are very knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

Kristen Killie: Our dog has been going to Clarendon Animal Care for a while now and it is by far the best vet experience we have ever had. We have lived in five different cities, each with different vets, so that says a lot! The offices are well kept and you can tell the staff really love and care for all animals. Everyone has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it has come to difficult health circumstances for our pup as well. I am so grateful we chose to go to Clarendon Animal Care when we moved! Highly recommend!
Response: Thank you, Kristen! Your words mean a lot to our crew! Never hesitate to reach out with questions or to schedule something - we love our time spent with Otis!

Shannon H: Summary: I've only had good experiences with the vets here, specifically Dr. Carter. The issue is that the practice as a whole lacked compassion for my dog, didn't have protocols in place to care for reactive dogs, and have made it clear they don't have intentions of developing them. If you do not have a reactive dog, you will probably be fine here. This really not something I wanted to have to write, but here we are. I adopted my adult/senior dog from a shelter back in December. I chose Clarendon Animal Care based off the reviews here, so I thought I should probably share my experience for others. During the first few weeks of owning my dog, I discovered that he is reactive to people and dogs. Clarendon Animal Care responded appropriately and helped my dog begin taking Reconcile for his fear-based anxiety. During the first few months of having my dog, we went in a few times to get him up to date on vaccinations and to check out various problems that we were finding out. The staff was always professional and acted appropriately as far as I could tell, however, my dog had started to develop a bad association with going to CAC. After a while, I inquired if there was a way to bring my dog in to desensitize him to the setting so that he could eventually not have such a negative association. I was told they are called happy visits, and that I was free to make an appointment. I had been told previously to make his appointments either early or late in the day, when the clinic is less crowded, so I made his appointment as early in the morning as I could. This appointment was anything but happy. I was greeted by the Vet tech who started citing parts of his medical record, particularly the ones where he has had difficulty being handled. I told the Vet tech the medications he is on for anxiety, and we were generally chatting about the goals we wanted to achieve during these visits. However, when my dog became triggered by other dogs coming in, she abruptly left and told us to leave. I was collecting his stuff and calming him down for a few minutes before leaving, when another dog came in. Again, my dog lost it. Rather than help me give my dog the time (maybe 3 minutes) and space to leave peacefully, the Vet tech then came back and told me to leave again. I felt it was very inappropriate how the situation was handled, and I said as much. The vet tech, rather than taking responsibility for her role, blamed a lot of other things on the fact that she (1) didn't know anything about my dog even after we had discussed specifics, and (2) didn't do anything to help the situation and simply left us sitting there. She did reach out, but continued to blame other factors for her own inaction, such as telling me that I made the wrong appointment and if the correct appointment would have been made, I would have been able to avoid this situation. I wanted to discuss what she specifically could have done to improve the situation, she wanted to talk about everyone else who did something wrong. I told her that I do not think she has done anything to instill my trust into bringing my dog back to receive care from her, at which point the hospital manager chimed in and said I should find another vet clinic for my dog. It struck me as a bizarre response until it clicked with me that they can make money much easier with someone else's normal dog. Fair enough, I can't argue with that. At the end of the day, I'm the only one in this transaction who actually cares about my dog, I just thought it was kind of her job to pretend to care (guess not). Now that I know what I know, I only have myself to blame for entrusting this business with someone I care about.

Erin Birmingham: As a first time dog owner, I cannot say enough good things about Clarendon Animal Care. My appointment was for a half hour with Dr. Julia Carter, her and the vet tech Michelle spent over an hour with me answering all of my questions and concerns. I really appreciated how kind they were to me and how they took the time to explain everything and ease my anxieties. The following Sunday night at 8:00 p.m., Dr. Carter called to check in on us. That was so kind of her and shows how much she truly cares. They mailed us a nice welcome postcard that I still have hanging up. I have already recommended CAC to one friend and highly recommend them to anyone else looking for a vet.
Response: Thank you, Erin! We agree, Dr. Carter and Michelle are truly compassionate souls. Our whole crew is happy to help with any guidance and questions that we can!

Crosspointe Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Maria Chilcote: At every point of contact at Crosspointe Animal Hospital, you experience love and empathy for your pet and a welcoming competence from the staff. I have been taking my fur babies there for almost 30 years and have never been disappointed with the competency or compassion of the staff. Top notch vets and staff - highly recommend!!!

Gabriel Ortiz: the young lady who helped us process our payment was amazing. so thorough and nice. Our dogs teeth looked great. I've been coming for over 15 years now. Always been great.

Duane C: We are all done with this Vet. Our "Gracie" has been there since 6 weeks old and is now 8 years old. Crosspointe Animal Hospital is expensive, and happy to take our money for all these years, but when a minor emergency came up today at 10 a.m., two hours before they closed on a Saturday, they refused to see her. We even called back to to speak to the manager on duty and were refused again. They said "We are booked, take her to another Vet that does Emergencies" How's that for customer service? So important to close at noon sharp rather than taking care of your doggie patients who have been with you since they were a pup. I dare say it borders on being unethical. Gracie says "I won't be back, you weren't there when I needed you."

Connor Harrison: My pets have been patients at Crosspoint for over twenty years. Superior care, friendly, professional and up-to-date. I trust them to help me make the best possible decisions for my babies health.
Response: Thank you for your positive review!

Jennifer Kay: Everytime I come into Crosspointe everyone has impeccable customer service and my cats are always their number 1 priority! I have never been disappointed with my experiences at Crosspointe. Even after I moved from Lorton to Alexandria I choose to continue coming to Crosspointe because of how well my cats are treated :-)
Response: Thank you so much for your feedback! We are so glad we can provide your with cats with quality care and a positive environment.

Christopher Kubicek: The doctor and technician were very friendly and took great care of our dog. Only negative is the long wait times to schedule an appointment.

Heather Gornak: Have experienced several other vet offices and this one by far is the best of the best. Amazing receptionists, techs, and veterinarians. They are priced competitively and never force services you don't need. They even genuinely call you to follow up on your pets health. Two thumbs up!

Yuri Wilda: We had been seeing Dr. Burbrink for both our Standard Poodle and Doberman for 2 years. She was THE BEST vet we have ever had. I cannot say enough positive things about the hospital or the vet. Dr. Burbrink was caring, thorough, kind, professional, extremely knowledgeable, etc. EVERY TIME we visited. And I never felt they were overcharging me so I can't agree with some of the reviewers here on that part. We ended up moving to a different state recently.. I still have not been able to find a vet like her. We miss Dr. Burbrink dearly! I highly recommend Crosspointe Animal Hospital to all my friends and would to people who are in a search in the area.

Sol Tucker: Amazing staff and care. We take our service dog here all the time and they know her on a first name basis. One of the best In the area.

Leslie Thompson: Dr. Burbrink and staff are amazing and passionate about pets and families. I love the personalized care we receive at every visit. They are very knowledgeable about the medical, physical, and social wellbeing of pets. I ❤ Crosspointe!

Caring Hands Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Shannon Mitchell: They take such great care of my babies! I love my pets like family, as many of us do, and Caring Hands understands this. They are a wonderful practice with many great doctors and locations to serve all of our needs.
Response: Awesome! We are so happy to hear about your great experiences with Caring Hands, I will be sure to share this with the staff.

Phillip McDonald: Dr. Snellgrove has been the best vet we’ve ever worked with. When we had questions about our Brittany rescue early on, she was very generous with her time, very informative, and very reassuring. When one of us was able to join our sometimes timid or skittish dog for his exam after the pandemic slowed down, she was extremely gentle and caring with him. Five stars!
Response: Fantastic! Thank you for all the kind words, I will be sure to pass this along to Dr. Snellgrove and her team.

Rachel Mangum: Took my two kitties in for exams and vaccine updates. Dr. Rossi was very informative after the exams and all the nurses were kind to answer questions and take care of my kitties. Seems like they enjoyed their company. $95 for an exam and about $50 for a vaccine. Not bad. The whole process took about 45 min for my two cats.
Response: WOW! We are please to know you had such a wonderful experience with Caring Hands, I will be sure to share this with all members of Caring Hands.

Shawn: Had a dog emergency the staff here was great and were able to take me right away. They were professional and very helpful. I would recommend them.
Response: We are so glad we where able to help during an urgent need. We hope to continue to help you and your pet in the future.

Bethany Pugh: My dog, Tango, and I love Caring Hands! He is always so excited for his vet visit! We recently went to the Alexandria location (we usually visit Glebe but recently moved). Dr. Neumann was great! He is friendly and super knowledgeable and was great with my dog! We will be recommending friends and family to Caring Hands and specifically Dr. Neumann! Thank you for a not only great but easy experience!
Response: Great! We are so happy the Tango loves to visit Caring Hands, we hope to continue a loving relationship with Tango and yourselves.

Alex W: Long winded, because this involves our puppy and our pets are the most important. We just had our puppy spayed here. This was our first experience with surgery at this vet - we had our older dog and cat spayed when we lived in a different state - so not our first experience. Anyway, they called once and my fiancé was at work so he couldn't get to the phone - they never even attempted me (i'm also on the account), they never tried to call again - my fiancé didn't see a missed call and i was starting to worry, so I called them. She had been done for FOUR hours. They called once. My poor puppy I could hear whining in the background. They didn't give pain medication, just a light anti-inflammatory, and an option to fill trazodone - a sedative (not for pain at all - RN here). This would just keep her calm post-op. The stitching is terribly done. The post-op appt, you don't even see the vet - you see a tech. Finally, the top concern of mine, was as follows. We sent our pup with her blankie, we knew the smell would comfort her, and we felt really really guilty doing this (pet parents, you know). They said it is absolutely ok! When they brought her out, they didn't bring a blanket. I asked for it and the gal goes "oh, what color is it?". What that tells me is that they didn't keep it with her, or place it in her kennel, or keep it in a safe space so they knew who's dog it was. First, that's stealing. But second, how dare you do that when I trusted you with my baby dog. Oh - I also don't need to get into the problems with refunding/recharging a different card - because we had our bank solve it. Yes, no one at the office could manage refunding a credit card properly, and they needed us to wait for the financial manager, in which they kept saying it'll be another week until she's back in. It was almost a grand, and we had to pay rent. Let me just say: train.your.employees. Needless to say, it's our last time at this vet.

Susan Shiels: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ValueCaring Hands Animal Hospital was sensitive when we had to find a place for one pet’s cremation. It was an easy choice to start bringing our living dog there to get answers for his reoccurring ear infections.
Response: Thank you so much for entrusting us to partner with you to care for your pet's care. Please reach out if we can do anything for you. Thank you for being a part of our Caring Hands family.

Alex Raymond: I have a puppy and kitty. Caring Hands always does a great job. My pets are in good care. I also appreciate the staff answering questions in between visits!
Response: Great! We appreciate the positive review, I will pass this along to the members of the Caring Hands team.

Angel Barraza: We have been taking our pup since we adopted her, 6 years ago. She always gets the best care, thank you to the staff for everything.
Response: Great! We are so glad we have been able to provide excellent care! We hope to continue top notch care in the future.

Kelly Soderberg: I love, love, love Caring Hands. I’m a professional pet sitter and dog walker and I’m in school to become a dog trainer, so I’m maybe a little extra choosy about who to take my puppy to for vet care. Most of my clients come to Caring Hands and I’ve heard rave things from them over the years about this clinic, and now I’ve had my own great experiences with the Caring Hands team helping to look after my new puppy. Dr. Wells is our primary vet and I love how kind, communicative, and knowledgeable she is. Every staff member who has greeted or worked with us has been very kind and so sweet to my puppy that he’s all happy tail wags when we arrive for our appointments. When it’s been time for him to go into the building without me, he’s so happy to be with his Caring Hands friends that he leaves with no anxiety and like I don’t exist, which is exactly what I want! The staff members really take the time to greet and love on him in a way that has clearly helped him feel safe and confident around them. I love Caring Hands and would absolutely recommend them!
Response: We are so appreciative that you took the time to share your experience with us. We cannot wait to share it with the entire team. Please, as always, let us know if you ever have any questions or concerns -- we are always here for you. Thank you for being a part of our Caring Hands family!

Brentwood Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Timothy Jansen: We have been using this vet and this organization for years. They take GREAT care of our dog. Chows are not easy and our Gracie loves them - the groomer is thoughtful and sweet with her and the Vet is always communicative and easy to work with, I recommend them highly. I hate to board any animal but sometimes it's necessary - the care they take of Gracie is top notch. That allows my time away some ease that I am not worried about her. Thanks everyone!

Amber Kay: I took my Doberman puppy here for a consultation on 6/13/22 I found most of the safe to be pleasant but they did not seem to be confident in their ability to properly sculpt my puppies ears essentially stating he would not be able to have show ears because they would fall. After research, speaking to the breeder and a knowledgeable vet they assured me that the information I was told was false. Not only they were asking 1,250 for the service which is outlandish. Ears cropping is normally between $300-$600. The price of the service was going to be more than the price of a Doberman puppy!
Response: Ms Kay, while it is entirely likely your pets will do fine with their elective surgery, it is the opinion of the surgeon at our practice that the procedure not be performed. I am hopeful the expertise of 40 years of ear crop surgeries is incorrect and your dobies win Westminster! I wish you and your pet's all the best of luck with a $300 ear crop.

Randon Ryland: Very friendly staff, clean facility and great vets. They smiled when I presented my Groupon and even helped me find more ways to save. Took my pups for the vaccines and it took less than 45mins. They even have a app you can download which makes things that much easier.
Response: Thank you for the kind words, Randon. It was great meeting you & the pooches!

Mimi roa: The staff and doctors are very friendly and have helped my cat get over different health issues! The waiting time is usually short and prices are fair

Ana González Vidales: Do not go there We brought our puppy as new puppy with only 2 vaccines due and the dr. pervaiz manzoor administered all what is needed for a entire year bc he misread the records provided to him. When we asked to have our puppy back he threatened me and my boyfriend asking his staff to “ call my man”. We felt in danger of our puppy and ourselves and had to call 911. We had to contact another (serious one) animal hospital to care for our poor puppy. The worst experience in my live. Also the place smells like pee all over and is filthy

Jeaneen White-Tops: Provides good service. And the facility is well maintained. The doctors are well versed in caring for the pets. The costs could be a little lower, but Im sure it compares well with other animal hospitals in the area.

Destinee Suber: Dr.Mandzor and his staff are great! They have been taking care of my family’s dogs for over 18 years. I highly recommend them!

Maria Keyser: Brentwood Animal has always gone above and beyond to help me take care of my dogs over the years. The staff are friendly and caring even when my dog is being a grouchy old man.

swaggerboy1989: I’ve took my cat there because my vet near closed down Brentwood veterinary employees wanted to argue with me my first time told I had to pay again to get the cat after the cat treated for fungus I basically had a large bill they wanted me to pay them again for the 2nd time not going to happen I’m was a new customer there not anymore because most of these reviews on say this place is expensive there are 100perc right I got large bill the first time the 2nd time they wanted to return to again for the same problem the 1st time this place need stop over charging people fix problem right the first time if u see this place get ur wallet out biggest rip off I should look at reviews before I was ripped off if anther vet
Response: Hi, Mr M, it was a pleasure speaking with you and I am hopeful we will get your little dude to the specialist for his care quickly. It sure can be annoying when our fur-buddies aren't on board with getting better with treatment but by working together we will all get your pal back in the pink quickly. Remember, do not hesitate to call with any problems!

AnneMarie Grunberg: I was very appreciative that Brentwood Animal Hospital were able to see us when our normal vet could not. The practice is very efficiently run. The employees are very communicative. The vet care we receivef was excellent. They will now be our new vet. There are only two "negatives"; the parking is not the easiest, and the practice is in a converted house and doesn't have the best floor plan. However, they make it work. We were seen in a timely manner and I have rarely seen any service so efficiently run. There is an overflow parking lot so parking is certainly adequate. Most importantly though, the level and quality of care has been excellent. I highly recommend them.

Clarendon Animal Care North Arlington: what do users think?

Andrew Hart: The staff are friendly and the vet I saw seems very knowledgeable but I do get the sense this clinic is more focused on money. A first visit for my elderly cat was cut short due to the 30 min window. My appointment felt rushed and we didn't even get to all of my cats health issues during our appointment. If you have plenty of money to shell out then by all means come to this clinic. It is clean, professional, and comfortable. But if you are a regular person who needs affordable care, this isn't the place you should go.
Response: Hi Andrew, we are sorry you felt that your appointment was rushed when you visited recently. We definitely strive to answer our client's questions and address their concerns as best we can in the time we have with you. I am happy to get you a call or telemed appointment with the doctor to finish discussing what you felt wasn't addressed. I know we were able to send you an estimate for the dental procedure that was recommended and I can assure you that our practice is not money-focused, but patient-focused. We strive to ensure our staff is highly educated, certified, licensed and confident with the procedures and information utilized in taking care of our patients. That does come at a cost to a certain degree because the most highly-trained people aren't always cheap! We appreciate you recognizing our team for their knowledge and friendly approach - that means a lot!

Ellen V: We’ve taken our golden, Tucker, here since he was 2 months old. We always leave feeling loved and cared for by the amazing staff.Dr. Plough is the best and we’re so thankful to live just a couple of blocks away!

Carly G: Clarendon Animal Care North is absolutely incredible. I recently moved to the area and needed to find a vet for my cat who was due for her yearly check-up. Finding a new vet is stressful because you of course want to be choosing the best care provider for your pet(s). Despite being nervous to take my kitty for her appointment, it couldn't have gone better. Dr. Valentine and staff were incredible. They were so patient and caring with my cat - she didn't even flinch when she got her shots! Dr. Valentine sent me a very thorough follow-up, and I know that with Clarendon Animal Care, my cat is in the best possible hands. Yours will be too! :)
Response: This is SO thoughtful, Carly! Thank you for taking the time to recognize our team! We will ensure Dr. Valentine and crew know! We're also happy to hear your kitty felt safe and comfortable with us, too (one of our biggest goals!).

Piper Akol: The best vet experience I have had! I am in DC but it is easy to take the metro (with my kitty) to this office. Cat is way less scared and tense with the fear free practices, and I have never felt rushed or unheard. They are also helpful if you call with a question, which is helpful so that I can get an answer without having to get my cat in the carrier, etc. for an appointment. We love Dr. Tanner but have had good experiences with all of the staff!
Response: Thank you for the kind words, Piper! We love seeing Tony and Cleo and working with you in their care.

Alexa Alice Joubin: They now allow people (wearing face masks) go to inside with their pets which is good. Very nicely decorated and comfy space. See my new photos. ::::: This clinic is conveniently located in Clarendon; staff are cheerful and friendly; above all they are very responsive on emails and phones; we especially appreciate how Dr. Adkins even responded to an email about illness on a Saturday. Due to COVID, they practice social distancing and do not allow clients in their lobby. We had to wait outside, call them, and they came outside to meet us. Overall the best part about this clinic is their responsiveness.
Response: Thanks so much for the review, Alexa! As you stated, we are currently not allowing clients in the building, however, we are making plans for our policies to adjust as COVID-19 and phases of reopening evolve, but social distancing will remain a large part of our efforts to keep everyone safe! Stay tuned!

Matt Budek: These people are horrible! I lost my dog a couple years ago and gave up hope. They called me to tell me they found my dog. They got my info off of her chip. Thank god i had one implanted. I explained the situation to them and that i would love to get my dog back asap. We were willing to come get her right then and there. They said they had to call me back. Well they didn't. I called them the next day to find out what was going on. They sent my dog to the animal shelter! What the heck. Now i have to call them to try to get my dog. The animal shelter charges and boarding fee every day she is there. I live in a different state and have a full time job and kids that makes it hard to get 1.5 hrs away. The day they called would have been perfect. Now i have to pay a bunch of fees to get her back and on top of that they require a rabies vaccine that the shelter refuses to do there. now i have to drive there, give them a deposit, go to another vet to get the shot, then go back there to get my deposit back. such a headach after thinking my poor dog was gone forever when that could have just given me my dog back the first day. i hate you people.

Melanie MacDonald: As a new pet owner (puppy), I've pulled between viewpoints of breeders, groomers, trainers, and other vets and it's incredibly frustrating to prioritize which health and behavioral problems to address and when. Among them all, this vet is the only pet service that I come out of the appointment feeling at peace that I know the way forward with all of my puppies issues. I don't feel judged or shamed for not knowing things or purchasing the right things and they enable me to form my own conclusions. While my puppy is still on the struggle bus with food, socialization, and acting out at least I know they will help me through it.
Response: Thanks, Melanie! We're here for you!

Sandy PBrown: These folks, from the front desk to the techs to the vets, are ABSOLUTELY unparalleled in their intelligence, their kindness and their compassion. I found them 3 years ago when I moved to Arlington from Denver, and I cannot say enough great things about them. Recently, I had to let my sweet Grimley pass over, and they were so lovely and present and understanding. I moved to Fairfax and still use this vet clinic. These are skilled animal lovers and fantastic doctors.
Response: We're so sorry about Grimley, but so appreciative of these kind words regarding our team! They will be shared with everyone. It's our goal to ensure everyone feels empowered to play an active role in the health of their own pet along with our team! Thank you again!

23 silver: Not a cat clinic. Please do not waste your money on this clinic. They complained about my cat's personality that she hissed at them. What? The vet does not seem to be knowledge about a cat. Did not explain enough about the next treatment plan. She does not seem to care about my cat. Maybe she does not like a cat. I want to work with a vet who treats my cat like their own cat. Waste of time and money.
Response: Hey 23 Silver! I'd love to chat a bit more with you directly in order to better understand your perspective of this experience. To connect with me privately please email me at sara@clarendonanimalcare.com. I can assure you our aim is not for you to walk away with this taste in your mouth. All of our veterinarians care deeply about cats - and dogs too! It's hard to hear your statement about "not being knowledgeable" which is what I'm assuming you were getting at, or even "not liking" cats. We not only care about our patients, we care about our clients which is why I'd love the opportunity to speak further! Hoping you reach out from behind the tag name!

Hannah Magoveny: I really cannot recommend Clarendon Animal Care - North enough. Every since we adopted our sweet girl, an 8 year old cat, we have had some ongoing health issues with her. We continued going to CAC as that was where she had gone her whole life, and we couldn’t be happier! Dr. Plough is simply fabulous- she is so thorough, helpful, and explains everything in detail so we know exactly what is going on! I highly recommend her. Every single vet tech and front desk/admin employee we have worked with have also all been amazing! They are super responsive, which I love. I really appreciate their kindness, especially since our sweet girl is apparently not so sweet when getting any vet exams, lol. Any prescriptions we’ve gotten have also been filled quickly, which is a huge plus. I highly recommend CAC!!
Response: Thank you, Hannah! We're sharing this with Dr. Plough and our team! We're elated to be able to be your choice for your kitty's care provider!

Caring Hands Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Kat Edwards: I brought my newest pup Peanut Butter to Caring Hands. They have been great to work with. The team is super responsive to email, and the vets, techs, and team have been very accommodating and helpful. My baby also got bit at a dog park and they were super responsive to help out and plan the right course of action. My dog might be slightly cuckoo but she actually loves going to the vet and is excited when we come to the door. I think it might be the treats waiting for her inside.
Response: We are so happy to hear your positive words! Sorry to hear about your pups run in at the park and hope he/she is healing well. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns in the future.

Ido Simyoni: I needed a USDA accredited vet to produce international travel health certificate and after checking different vets in DC area I decided to go to caring hands in Virginia / Arlington. Service was VERY friendly and professional all the way. I will admit that I was surprise with the price I had to pay which was almost $200 more than I what I usually pay in nyc for the same thing. However I’m grateful and thankful for getting the certificate approved by the USDA so I can travel with my dog to Israel.
Response: We are so glad things worked out, have a safe trip to Israel with your furry family member.

Corey Neskey: Everything from finding information on the website to follow-up questions after our appointment was perfect. Our rescue is very anxious but she opened up to the staff at Caring Hands immediately. COVID precautions were excellent and did not negatively impact the appointment. We opted for "curbside" which means that the staff takes the dog from the front of the building and you talk to the vet on the phone after the appointment. This worked much better than we thought it would. All of our questions were answered thoroughly and objectively. A printout was provided that recapped the appointment, discussions, next appointment scheduling, and our care homework. Invoice was clear and detailed.
Response: Thank you for all the positive words, its nice to hear such positivity during these very difficult times. If you need anything in the future, please feel free to reach out to the manager so that it can be addressed.

Nik Porterfield: The second I stepped foot inside I was greeted with a warm welcome. My pup was a little worked up about being there and they didn’t push/make her do anything that would further upset her. They asked permission before they gave her any treats/peanut butter to help calm her down. The Vet was amazing as well. Talked with you about pets health and what products she recommended. Called the next day to see how my dog was doing as well. Best Vet I’ve been to and you can see they really care.
Response: Great! Your kind words are important to us, I will be sure to share them with the team.

Mariia Moiseieva: Great care, excellent communication! Our Scottish terrier Tequila started to visit Caring Hands in November. She received great medical care, we had very nice communication experience with all the staff. Dr Campfield spoke with me numerous times on the phone to explain details. She also answered all the million questions that I had. We need a surgery, so we got several recommendations as to where to do that and they sent a referral very fast. Many thanks to everybody working on reception for great work - everything from taking calls, emails to admitting Tequila for her visits.
Response: Fantastic! We are so happy to hear that your experience with Caring Hands has been so positive. If you have any questions or concerns in the future please feel free to reach out to the manager on site.

Quinn Mahoney-Nair: We had an excellent experience at Caring Hands for a regular checkup. They took good care of my dog, made sure he was comfortable for his shots, and they even had a little cup of peanut butter to make his blood draw easier. I was happy that the doctor responded quickly to a follow-up question over email.
Response: Thank you so much for the kind feedback. I can’t wait to share it with our team – it will make their day! If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Laura Trowbridge: This place is amazing, they took great care of my dog and even moved up his appointment when he was having health issues. Dr Hamilton was so patient with my over-excited pup and the vet techs have been so kind and helpful in getting him to settle down for his exam/shots. I'm so happy to have found a trusted vet.
Response: Great! We are so glad we could make your experience a positive one, we hope to continue to provide you with top notch care in the future.

Debbie Yen: We love our vet hospital. Our puppy had a great first visit with them, and we are happy we were able to become one of their patients. They are responsive to any call or concern, and will usually return any call within an hour. Because they’re so good, they are booked out a few weeks, so definitely plan your appointments!
Response: We are so glad to hear that you and your puppy had a great 1st visit, I will be sharing your positive experience with the doctors and staff. If you have any questions or concerns in the future please reach out to the hospital manager so that they can address your needs.

Henry Fung: This is my first time visiting this hospital. What I appreciate the most about the visit was how patient and thorough Dr. Campfield was in explaining my cat's conditions and in answering my questions. It didn't feel rushed at all and I left with a good understanding of what I should do and what I needed to monitor. I would definitely consider returning. My cat was crying in pain in the litter box on a Sunday night along with other signs of a urinary infection. I called three places on Monday morning but they were all full. Caring Hands' Clarendon location was willing to take us in as an emergency appointment, and they were upfront about the cost, which is quite a bit more than a regular visit. They asked some questions about the situation and let me decide without pressuring me about whether to go for an emergency appointment. As COVID measures were still in place, intake was done over the phone after I arrived at their parking lot. It was efficient and they asked whether I would authorize things like ultrasound, scans, etc. They came out in about 10 minutes to take my cat in while I waited outside. About half an hour after we arrived, the doctor called me and discussed my cat's conditions. A urinalysis had already been done. As noted above, Dr. Campfield was very good and clear in explaining the situation and options. I was comfortable making a decision about treatment after our discussion. Payment was also done over the phone. The staff member was friendly and efficient. We were on our way home 10 minutes after speaking with the doctor. Overall, the service was good. The emergency care and exam did end up being three times more expensive than the cost my cat's last exam elsewhere, and more expensive than the urinalysis and medication combined.
Response: Thank you for the kind words, I will be sure to pass this along to Dr. Campfield and her team!

Megan Waters: The staff at Caring Hands are the most kind and caring set of people I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. From the very beginning, they were able to squeeze my two kittens in on VERY short notice for their exam. I wound up getting in to a car accident and they were so understanding about how long I may take in coming back to pick up my cats. When I got my kittens back, they were not traumatized at all! I received full information on what to expect and they didn’t push any unnecessary treatments on me. I am 100% coming back to them for their next annual exam!
Response: Thank you so much for sharing your experience with our hospital. Please always feel free to reach out to us if there is anything we can do for you or your sweet kittens! Thank you for being a part of our Caring Hands family!

Town & Country Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Makara Chhay: We brought in our cat in November. When we came home I opened her carrier and looked inside and she was flat on her paws. It took her a long time to get out. When she walked out she fell twice. She couldn’t put weight on her paws. After the doctors visit she got weaker and weaker. I emailed them and they denied doing anything to her. Before the doctors visit she was strong etc. but after the visit she couldn’t walk, had problems with her hip, and got weaker. She passed away a week later. We told them that we wanted her paw print. Waited a long time for a phone call. I called them and they said it will take two weeks (it past two weeks). We waited for another two weeks and called again. They said that we changed our mind about wanting her paw print. We never changed our mind or contacted them about our mind changed. Why would we change our mind, when it’s a memory of her? I don’t know where they got the information from. It was their mistake. I hope she got an appropriate burial. They do not deserve a one star review. Never bring in your pet to a location where you couldn’t go inside with them. You don’t know what is happening in the exam room, to witness anything or to advocate for them.

Sen: I would give this review lower but I have to give a little credit to the vets. I’ve been taking my dog here ever since she was a puppy and the vets are great, the office not so much. My dog is also a pandemic pup and I have not once met a veterinarian or have been able to go to the check ups with my dog; all the information is either told to me after the appointment or through a phone call, which isn’t super thorough to me. I also brought my dog when they opened up their waiting room area and she got kennel cough soon after. I had to go back to get medication even though I told the staff the only way she would have gotten it was from the clinic itself. Also be careful of charges, I remember asking a few times for them to clip my dog’s nails and I would leave with my dog and notice they didn’t touch them, but charged the fees anyway. I am now looking for other clinics with better service and staff that can hopefully be thorough with my dog
Response: Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit with us. We can see from your review that your experience is not one that we strive to provide at Town and Country Animal Hospital. We apologize for the inconsistencies in service and the issues you have encountered. We believe in serving our clients and providing exceptional care to your loved ones. We would love the opportunity to discuss this further, please email us at TNCManagers@townandcountryanimalh.com.

Mona Milberg: Brought my cat in for emergency, possible UTI. Only 20 min wait. Vet techs took history and Doctor Hall came out to talk to me about evaluation and treatment. Appreciated excellent care and communication. Dr Hall called 1 day later and left a detailed message about a lab result. He said he would call back to see how my cat is doing post treatment.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Town and Country Animal Hospital. Dr. Davis Hall is a great veterinarian, we are happy to hear your experience was exceptional and we will be sure to share this with him

Kristen Reitmeyer: The front office was flexible, kind & able to work him into the schedule so quickly. The clinician was knowledgeable, capable & completely willing to work with my dog. We will undoubtedly be moving vet care to this practice! Thank you T&C Team
Response: Thank you for taking time out of your day to share your recent experiences. We greatly appreciate your business.

Theresa Art: I'm so sad to leave this review because the vets are very good here but I have called in December, January and February all these times I've been placed on hold. I wait for a long time and can't get any service. The first time I called I was placed on hold for such a long time, that I called back weeks after thinking it was so busy because of the holiday season. But it was the same in January. I also requested my dogs vet history and things she never had done were in her file. I don't know what is going on in that office but I'm moving somewhere else bc I'm concerned they can't handle the volume of clients they have. Hope the management can realize what is happening because this used to be a good vets office
We would love the opportunity to discuss this further, please email us at TNCManagers@townandcountryanimalh.com

Therese Persson: I am very happy that I changed to my new vet - Reed Hall. He is a wonderful veterinarian who has taken the time and has gotten to the bottom of a medical problem for my dog, when others just 'gave up'. He's kind and has nice bedside manner and I am very happy with this group!

Susan Marcus: We take our cats, Yin and Yang to Town and Country. Dr. Simpkins is terrific. She's seen us through several difficulties, always with patience and kindness, following up with calls. We really feel she cares. Today, Dr. Stahl did dental cleaning on Yin. The information she provided afterwards was thorough and helpful, and again very caring. We highly recommend Town & Cuntry. However Never go to their sister entity, Columbia Pike, for Emergency Services. We were turned away after being told to come there. We will never go there again.

Karen Grattan: Such a disorganized and somewhat rude office staff. Called for my mom’s elderly dog with eye problems. First, a ridiculously long “menu” for a vet’s office, before you ever get a person. Then a hold, then a pick up with garbled speech before back on hold. Given an appointment. Called an hour later to inform me that the time of the appointment had been changed (tough luck if you have more than one thing on your calendar for the day!)… only to be called a day later to be told that they (apparently a spontaneous decision?) will close their offices and won’t be open the day of our appointment. Crazy. Unprofessional. Won’t be going back.

Go Nats: Update: I called in an RX today and it was ready in a couple hours and the staff at the front desk was much friendlier and professional. Perhaps they have made some changes. Question everything and check your bill! Reception, billing, pharmacy and lab are all unprofessional and unresponsive. I've waited on hold for 30+ minutes several times. They have lost numerous Rx requests and they don't call when the Rx is ready when they tell you they will. They lost my dog's fecal sample and when I came in to give them another sample, no apology for losing the sample, and they tried to charge me again as well as for an ear cleaning solution that I had already overpaid for. When I questioned it, she claimed she was just reading what was in the system. Again, no apology for trying to double charge me. No issues with Dr. Washington and Dr. Katzsur, but they don't let you back with your dog during the exam, so hard to know what they are actually doing. As many times as they have lost things, I don't trust that the blood results they gave me are actually from my dog. Looking for another vet.
Response: Thank you for the update to your previous review. Because of the feedback we receive we are able to identify opportunities within our hospital and grow as a result. Always fee free to email us at TNCManagers@townandcountryanimalh.com with any comments or questions.

Deb Sterling: Our pups get the best care from great doctors and staff. All questions answered and our pups are like family to them. We love these vets !

Hayfield Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Tracy Dhane: We LOVE hayfield animal Hospital. They not only care about your pet but love on you and are very respectful . We had to put our dog down last year and they were caring and explained everything. Now that we have a new puppy they are still that loving, caring family for our new pup. And she loved them as well. We are a military family and possibly moving and I hate the thought of trying to find a new vet. They are as hard to find as a new dentist or dr for humans. Once you find a good one it’s hard to find one just as good.

Tweety Vega: I've been coming here for over 15+ years, the front office staff is wonderful always respectful, patient and caring of our pets. The doctors are the same, they spend the time needed to take care of your pets needs and explains everything. I will never go anywhere else!!! My cats have always been in good hands! 😊❤👍The Vega family

Jennifer Weaver: All the staff are fantastic. Dr Embry is the best. One of my dogs is very shy and they provide her extra reassurance. One of my dogs is very reactive with new people and dogs and the staff are all professional and are able to manage her anxiety so she loves going there. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Allison Sumlin: We can’t say enough kind things about Hayfield Animal Hospital! Whether it’s on the phone, via email, or in person, we are always treated with kindness and respect. The staff is amazing! Everyone who works at the front desk is alway courteous to us and our pets. We’ve seen Dr. Embree for two of our pets, varying from a elderly 16 year old cat to our ever growing Great Dane puppy! Both were treated with care and always given great advice! We’ve also boarded our elderly cat over several days, and he is truly loved by all! If you are looking for smart, kind, and lovers of all animals, look no further than Hayfield Animal Hospital!

Taylor Reiff: I just moved from Florida and needed a place for my dog to stay until I forums an apartment. Hayfield Animal Hospital was super accommodating and helped out a ton!!

Jennifer Bruegger: I have always been pleased with the care my cats received at Hayfield Animal Hospital. The reception and vet assistants are friendly and compassionate. The vets are very knowledgeable and tenderly care for my kitties. I feel confident taking my fur babies to HAH.

Ginny The Concierge: I have taken many animals to the Hayfield Animal Hospital since Dr Jerry Hinn opened it soon after we move here forty years ago. The care the doctors here give our pets has been fabulous. They diagnose problems quickly and treat the pets with love and care. I give the Hayfield Animal Hospital an A+ rating!

Tanya Tanner: Glad to be back inside for the visits. Vet was especially attentive to our older dog’s issues and performed all tests and treatments in the exam room so our pet didn’t have to walk any further. Very caring and attentive.

Monique Whatley: We have a senior dog who's very sheepish. They always provide our Bruno with compassionate service. The staff at Hayfield is the best! We really appreciate them.

Jeff C: Down to 2 vets at very busy practice makes appointment availability and access very hard for sick visits, wellness checks, infections, injuries, etc. Typically weeks out at best due to staffing shortages. Noticed big drop in last 12 months. When able to be seen, overall good experience.

College Park Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Sohany Flores: I’ve been taking my dog for almost 4-5 five years now. He hasn’t been rushed to any emergency due to the great care and accurate diagnosis by the doctors at College Park Animal hospital. Now that our family extended we still trusted and continue to put our puppies and mama in their staff hands, they are professionals who take their job seriously and know your furry friend is an extension of your family.

Nikki B: I've been bringing my cat here as his primary vet and they're great! All of the staff from the front desk to the vets themselves are stellar. The website also makes it easy to schedule standard appointments too. Just keep in mind you'll have to call for certain things like surgeries or other more involved services Note the front parking area is off a busy section of Hwy 1 but there is also parking in the back that's calmer.

Myknack79: Thank you CPAH for assisting myself and Noodles for his constipation issues. We are still trying to keep the P#"p moving. Thank you for seeing us on short notice. It is a struggle at times but am happy to know you are there for us. Much ♥️♥️to all as always. Love Noodles.🐱🐱

erik clark: Positive: Professionalism, ResponsivenessDr Beck and Dr Berndt have always been helpful taking care of our pets. Life is good all around, and we are working happily towards working out the health kinks in our senior cat. Been with the vets for more than 10 years, service has been good.
Response: Thank you for the 5 stars! We are always happy to help our clients learn about and care for their very special furry family members. We work toward giving them the best quality of healthcare so that they can live the best quality of life.

Lindsey Hightower: I have taken my cat and boyfriend's dog here for at least a decade. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful with getting appointments and any questions that need to be answered. The Drs. are very knowledgeable and comforting. Would recommend CPAH!!

LaTanya & Devin Lucas: Vet was wonderful, answered all my questions but I was completely thrown off when the bill came. I truly wasn't paying attention when I was told my pups ears were going to be checked or when he was prescribed an ear wash & meds when he already had meds in his ear from the vet who saw him 2 weeks after I adopted him. It was an expensive lesson but I'm glad he's doing well for a giant 14mth old...
Response: Thank you !

Jesse Sigman: I love CP Animal Hospital! They got my cat BB King through an early diabetes diagnoses and successfully into remission in just a few months. They also caught his heart failure early enough to treat him and prolong his life. The team is amazing and treat my baby like he is their baby. Dr. Berndt is a fantastic veterinarian with great customer service and genuine care for her patients and their families. I never have an issue getting an appointment. As long as I live in the area I'll never go to another clinic. *They also take CareCredit....which has made a HUGE difference for us when it comes to paying for care.*
Response: We are so happy that things have been going well for BB King. We understand how very important the "furry family members" are to our clients and are proud to be able to help you provide the best possible care for them.

Nat Sot: Super thankful for their service... many years ago Dr. Beck helped my 16 year old car reach 18 years! Then Dr.. Michaels completed knee surgery on my dog and now another doctor has treated her recently and my baby is all better. Very nice professional staff. I AM VERY THANKFUL.
Response: Thank you for the 5-star feedback. We know how important they are to you and we are so happy to help you care for ALL of your furry friends. Best wishes to all for HEALTH and happiness in the coming NEW YEAR!

Michele Deck: I LOVE CPAH!! Since 1970, they have taken exemplary care of my family. Over the years, there have been a few changes in doctors (but not many, considering how long ago I started going there), but all have been caring, knowledgeable and totally devoted to my furry friends. I highly recommend it to anyone who asks, and some who don't! Trust me, they are AWESOME!!

Shawn Scott: Bella had no fears about going to college park she is a nervous aussie who doesn't take to strangers she walked right in and jumped up on the counter I have been going here for years but this was bella's 2nd visit they took the time to make her comfortable and feel safe

Animal Dental Clinic: what do users think?

Jody McLellan: I knew Maverick had an infected tooth but had no idea the severity of it. After meeting with Dr.Hall and staff I was confident that they could and would take care of it. It was a large molar but true to his breed I had no idea he was in such pain until it became obvious. Two weeks later he is happy and enjoying his senior years. It’s nice to see the “pep” in his step. Thank you for helping him!
Response: Hi Jody, I am so happy to hear about Maverick’s recovery! He is such a sweet pup. We all enjoyed working with him last month. We are always happy to help a pet get back to a healthy, pain-free mouth. Please give him an extra belly rub for us! Cristal Wheeler Office Manager

Gabi Cueva: My void boy went in as a 4 year old, and left actually being 7+ years old!! (T_T) Not the staff's fault, I just got bad intel from his rescue. Last time I took him to his primary vet they warned me about his attitude and that I had to give him Gabapentin prior to his visits with them, but I got no such warning here! They told me he was so sweet and had "friendship time" (or something like that) with him after he woke up from his sedation. Dr. Hall is so good with cats and my cat was nothing but calm in his visit. Not so calm on his ride home lol. Highly recommend.
Response: Hi Gabi, I am so glad Casper is doing well! Tooth resorption is a painful and progressive disease. Poor Casper just didn’t know how to tell you about it. Thankfully, Dr. Hall was able to diagnose it for you and together you came up with a plan to make his mouth healthier and less painful. He was very good for us. We look forward to seeing you both back for his 9 month COHAT (comprehensive oral health assessment and treatment). Thank you for the kind words. We appreciate you taking the time to share Casper’s story. Respectfully, Cristal Wheeler Office Manager

cardigansandkimchi: Doggie dental health is a critical part to ensure your fur baby has not only a clean mouth, but also a pain free one. Mortified when I looked into my sweet baby’s mouth to find missing teeth and poor indentation that had been missed by his former veterinarians. Dr. Hall fit my fur baby in immediately same day and we had never even met him! Cristal who is apart of this wonderful team guided us through every post op instruction and encouragement was given to call with any concerns or needs. I utilized this and received a call back promptly. I never felt judged In bringing my sweet boy in with his mouth the way it was. Dr. Hall has enlightened me on dental needs for my canine children. Shiloh has had his second and final checkup post surgery and is now cleared to stop wearing the cone of safety as well as a celebration to start enjoying kibbles as he once used to. Highly recommend this practice!!!
Response: Hi April, Thank you for the nice review. I am glad Shiloh is feeling better! He is a super sweet pup. It makes our day seeing pups that have come in with painful mouths return for their rechecks with a new pep in their steps. Give him a big smooch from all of us! See you soon for his brother’s appointment and Shiloh for moral support! 😊 Respectfully, Cristal Office Manager

Tracy Khan: Our year old dog that we took in this March unbeknownst to us was born with some irregularities in her teeth. We found this out when we had her first check up for her at our vets office. We were referred to two animal dentists in Richmond. Both were booked out for several months and we were not able to get even an idea of cost. We reached out to Helping Hands in Richmond as we heard they offer significant reductions in cost. However they were unable to do the procedure of cutting down the one tooth that was causing issues and could not remove it for fear of breaking the jaw. That being said the past few months we reached out to local vets and no one could help us. I then started searching online and found Dr. Hall in Vienna VA. I called his office and his very kind receptionist Crystal was able to give us a baseline on cost. We were then able to figure out financially how to prepare for this large expense for what needed to be done. We drove from our home in Fredericksburg and met Dr. Hall. He did the consultation and gave us options then did the procedure same day. He thankfully agreed with us on saving the tooth and shaving some length off/ root canal. He wanted to do the procedure with the best outcome and safest for our dog.He was very kind to our dog and engaged with her to help her anxiety. I would encourage everyone to meet with Dr. Hall and his staff. Also ask questions about cost because doctor Hall will tell you what you will be charged after he has accessed imaging. He was kind enough to call us after imaging was done and give specific pricing. We are thankful for the care our dog was given and the ease of getting an appointment. We can now be at peace knowing our dog will not risk infection or other health issues.

Katherine Wychulis: Highly professional and organized office--everything was very well explained and the process was pretty easy. I was grateful for the offer to take care of other procedures while the dogs were "under," namely nail trim and removal of a growth on my older dog's leg. I appreciated the follow-up calls to check on my dogs. Thanks, Dr. Hall and team!
Response: Thank you for the kind review. Meara and Snoopy were great patients! We look forward to seeing you all again next year. Don't hesitate to call us if anything comes up sooner, though. Respectfully, Cristal Wheeler Office Manager

Jeff and Paula Sumberg: Our experience at Animal Dental Clinic could not have been better. Dr. Hall and every member of the team are caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable. They cover every detail and are happy to answer any questions. Our dog is very anxious when taken to the vet, but everyone at Animal Dental Clinic went out of there way to ease her fears. Dr. Hall even dropped to the ground to play and cuddle with our dog the moment he came in the exam room. If you have a pet with dental needs, you can't do better than Dr. Hall and the wonderful team at Animal Dental Clinic!
Response: Hello Sumberg family! We loved spending time with Jessie. She is such a sweet pup. Thank you for letting us be a part of her regaining a healthy, pain-free mouth. We look forward to seeing all of you next year! Cristal

holly osman: If your pet needs dental care do not waste time by going to a general vet. We wouldn't go to a general practitioner for our own dental needs and this applies to pets as well. After wasting a lot of time and money going to regular vets for help, I finally used my brain and found a specialist. It unfortunately took me longer then it should have and the work was way more extensive then if I had been smarter about preventative care and locating the appropriate person for the work. I am unbelievably grateful to have found this clinic. In less then 2 weeks my dog is packing on the pounds and back to his old happy self. I could have hugged every single wonderful person here. I will never let Tom experience this sort of pain again. While I found everyone at this clinic lovely to deal with. If you don't like straightforward bedside manner, oh well. The point is to help your pet, not make friends and trust me your pet will like them just fine.
Response: Thank you for the wonderful review. Tom is a sweet boy and we enjoyed spending time with him! We look forward to seeing you both again for his root canal health check at the beginning of next year! Cristal

Ellen: I wish I could give ten stars! Dr. Barron Hall and Cristal, the office manager, are incredible. Besides both of them being overwhelmingly nice, it is clear their love of animals and their love of working with animals is partly why they are so happy and kind. I took my girl Georgie there this morning. Georgie was diagnosed with a salivary gland disorder. My vet said she would need surgery. I did some research and found a top vet, Dr. Hall. By chance, I called shortly after closing and Dr. Hall answered the phone. So personable and knowledgeable. I made a consultation appointment and went in days later. Cristal was so kind getting the paperwork together and photographing Georgie. Georgie is a great judge of character. Usually timid, she immediately loved Cristal. When Dr. Hall came in, Georgie immediately liked him, too. Like aI said, great judge of character. With Dr. Hall you will find an expert who loves his job. You will also find a super kind and honest man. His is principled. He won’t perform a surgery just to make a buck. He wants what is right for the animal. If an animal (in this case my dog Georgie) has a situation that has a chance of remedying itself and is not in imminent danger, he offers sound advice. It may be that it comes to surgery one day, maybe not. Why take the risk and pay the price? Most vets would push the surgery. They are business people. Dr. Hall is rare. What a great person. I can see why he is so popular and why his reviews so great! Look no further. If your dog/animals is in need of expert dental advice and beyond, you will feel confident that your animal is in the best possible hands. Oh, and I believe I read he has worked at animals at the National Zoo! So like I said, I wish I could double his excellence with stars , but I will just have to give him the most stars allowed. Thank you Dr. Hall, Cristal and the entire Animal Dental Clinic practice!
Response: Hi Ellen, Thanks for the wonderful review. Dr. Hall and I definitely love our jobs! We are here for the animals first. I'm so glad Dr. Hall was able to give you advise to help Georgie. Give her a big smoosh from us! We will see you next year for a regular visit! Cristal Wheeler Office Manager

Mikaela Lambert: Our dog had two previous dental surgeries with other veterinarians and still had exposed roots and was in pain. I met Cristal and saw her scrubs that said Animal Dental Clinic and began telling her about Ace's experience. She told me to bring him into the clinic the next and they would take care of him. We arrived at the Animal Dental Clinic the next morning and spoke with Dr. Hall for over an hour. With previous veterinarians, they are always in a rush to get you in and out. Dr. Hall explained everything to us, showed us photos and models to ensure that we understood all of his recommendations, and did not push us into a decision. We decided to do surgery that same day. Dr. Hall extracted 8 teeth, along with the remaining chunk of a canine tooth that was left behind in a previous surgery by another veterinarian. One week later and Ace is better than he has been in months since this nightmare began! He is pain-free, has gained weight, and is happy and playful again. Dr. Hall also called the next day to check on Ace and to ask if we had any questions or concerns. I now know that it is essential to take your dog to someone who specializes in the mouth for any dental work. We could have saved thousands of dollars and saved our dog a lot of pain if we would have gone to Dr. Hall first! Cristal is very kind and gentle with the animals. They truly treat your animals like family. I HIGHLY recommend Animal Dental Clinic!
Response: Hi Mikaela! We are so happy we could help Ace!!!! He was definitely an interesting case. I hope you, Ace, Cooper, and Addie are doing well in Ohio. That’s Dr. Hall’s home state. Let Ace know I said “Arruff, bark, yip yip yip!” That means “Ohio is fun but cold, cold cold!” Cristal

Lynda Pejic: Updated June 2022: we still see Dr. Baron Hall. It continues to be a positive experience. He truly cares for animals. Updated: September 7 2016. All is great with ADV. A+++++++ Dr. Hall is still all about the animals!! It is my pleasure to write this review in support of Dr. Hall. Animal Dental Clinic has been a part of our pets’ lives for several years. Dr. Hall has been caring for my pets, since Dr. Williams’s retirement, and I am 100% pleased with the results. Dr. Hall works very hard for our pets and has their best interest in mind. My second encounter with Dr. Hall involved our second eldest cat that needed full extractions due to severe gum disease (not my fault – bad genes/bad gums). I was a nervous wreck and making it all about me. After Dr. Hall explained the pain our cat was in and her inability to eat, I knew the answer: full extraction. I put my trust in Dr. Hall’s skills, talent and education, and thankfully it paid off; the results were nearly instantaneous resulting in increased appetite and playtime. Our general veterinarian was very pleased with the improvements in our cat’s weight and attitude. It is now 2013 and the little girl will be celebrating her 19th Birthday… oh yes, PLAYTIME it’s ON!!! I do know Dr. Hall considers our animal’s interests and what is best for them. In my opinion he is dedicated to his profession, and trade. While it is a business, it is one he takes great pride and care in. I would be hard pressed to go to another animal dentist, despite the fact that they are few and far between. Animal Dentistry is a highly skilled profession. Update 1/12/2016 Still a proud pet parent to two new fur patients of Dr. Hall.
