Adams Morgan Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Josh Griff: First time bringing my dog here and had a good experience. The doctor seemed to know what was wrong with my dog and his infection cleared up within 24 hours of treatment. Making an appointment was easy and you get seen in a reasonable time. I am glad I was able to go back to see the vet with my dog because some places do not allow that currently.

Joseph Miller: My wife and I had to take our cat for an emergency trip to another vet hospital in early February where we received the unfortunate news that our cat had cancer. We had an already scheduled annual check up with Adams Morgan Animal Hospital later that month. During the visit the doctor spent 20 minutes with us going over the X-rays, scans, and blood work. Afterwards we decided we would take her home and let her enjoy her final days in her normal environment. Flash forward to this past Friday when we noticed our cat had taken a turn for the worse and we knew it was time. When we contacted Adams Morgan Animal Hospital I explained the situation and they could not have been more accommodating! Even with their fully booked schedule they made arrangements to see her right away. During our difficult time Adams Morgan Animal Hospital was there for us and we will forever be grateful.

Amy Lee: Pretty good! Nice helpful staff. A little less attentive to the nervousness of my dog as I would have hoped but still great care. I’ll be back.

Kaitlyn Stovall: I brought my cats here for over six years, seeing Dr. Boone (Jr) and Dr. Madden several times each. Vet care - I was always pleased with their attention to the animals and advice given to me, especially initially as a very nervous, probably over-eager first-time cat owner. Both doctors and vet techs seemed to remember my cats and have a way with calming them. Office staff (because there are several negative reviewers on this point) - On occasion over several years people may not have been overly cheery at busy times but they were always professional and patient in explaining prices and then evolving coronavirus prevention measures, and they always worked hard to fit me in when one of my pets was sick - I never had to find an emergency or other vet during business hours. I was sad to have to find a new vet when I moved recently, but the office staff were very responsive and helpful in transferring records. Prices - reasonable for the neighborhood.

Michelle McKeever: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, ValueMy cat, Hope, needed boosters and an annual check up and I am SO glad I went to Adams Morgan Animal Hospital. Everything was easy and affordable and Hope left happy for a cat that had to get her shots. I so appreciate this place!

Sulzhan Bali: I got to know about Dr Boone through word of mouth ( a friend takes his dog there) and my new pup loves going to this vet. The staff are really well informed and provide a good balance of loving care, preventative tips, and value. The staff remembers all dogs, and I greatly appreciate that. For example, once when I had a question about my pup and I called in to ask, the next time I called to book her vaccine appointment, they even asked me how she was doing. Dr Boone had come out to answer all my questions patiently on our first visit, which I was most grateful for.

China Dickerson: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ResponsivenessI was looking for a Black-owned vet located in DC proper and found this place! It's super convenient (I live downtown); they know my dog well (they call him by name as soon as he walks in); and the doctors know exactly what they are talking about. I love this clinic (and my puppy loves it too!)

Lucky Barbieri: The team is wonderful and very helpful. Took care of my kitty in no time. Also boots the cat runs the show there haha. Huge fan

Ceterisbearibus: Their phone system has had issues on an almost consistent basis which makes it very difficult to get in contact with them. Today their phone system said it is down because it is July 4th (it is September 13th). What if there was an emergency and you needed to contact them? Unacceptable, I’m going to be looking for a new vet that can be reliably contacted.

Kaitlyn Marshall: These amazing people fit me in at the last possible moment and took fantastic care of my cat Oliver. I found out he had a bladder blockage and they did everything for him. I couldn’t go to the animal urgent care facility and they undoubtedly saved his life. I will be making this his new primary care vet. Can’t recommend enough!

Atlasvet: what do users think?

MJ Kass: They’re super friendly here. My cats were well cared for. There was no pressure for my cats to do what the vet told them. One of my kitties (pictured) is very shy and was coaxed with delicious treats that she definitely appreciated. The techs didn’t even pick them up unless I was okay with it. I can tell they want my animals to live long

Loana Caballero: We absolutely LOVE AtlasVet. The very first time I visited, the front desk greeted us with excitement. Since then, I have visited the office multiple times and the treatment has remained consistent, especially from Zain! He is always going the extra mile to ensure the check in and check out process is done efficiently and stress free. Dr. Zaritsky performed a dental surgery for my 13 year old dog, who was suffering from severe dental disease and the results were better than I hoped for! Their wonderful Tech Manager, Traycie, followed up with me every step of his post surgery and made Caramelo’s recovery a priority. It has been about a month since the surgery and he is now eating kibble again, even with his gummy smile! Dr. White saw my one year old labrador retriever who we rescued from Puerto Rico and is terrified of strangers. She walked in the room and immediately made a connection with him. She even sat on the floor with him the entire time to be at his level and make him feel comfortable! A doctor…sitting on the floor…the entire time… to make her patient feel comfortable, need I say more? She was PHENOMENAL in calming his anxiety and now he wants to go to AtlasVet even when it is just to drop off his older smaller brother. All thanks to Dr. White! Thank you to the entire team at AtlasVet, especially Dr. Miller, Dr. White, Dr. Zaritsky, Traycie, and Zain!

Denise Thomson: We have been going to Atlas for about 4 years with two different dogs. Every doctor and staff member is sweet and caring. They always stay how cute and sweet my pup is which is always nice to here. They have great Covid protocols in place so be prepared.

Alysha Heckman: I have been taking my dog here for about 2 years and have no complaints. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. They are able to give me most of the medicine I need at the time of appointment. You can tell that they really care about the animals and are very accommodating of e-mail communication so you don’t always need to schedule an appointment. Will always recommend to people.

James Ling: My partner and I recently got adopted by a stray cat. Took him to Atlas, they were friendly, helpful and patient with all our questions. They treated him for ear mites, got him properly vaccinated and neutered him. The staff was great at explaining every procedure and medication and they called me after every visit to follow up and make sure everything was going well.

Rachel Antonia Silverio: Atlas vet is always a helpful, empathetic and informative experience. My dog is particularly taken with Dr. Claire, who always listens very attentively to my concerns and takes the time to ingratiate herself with Voltaire. Feel very lucky to have such a convenient and caring Vet nearby.

C Ark: Overall great Vet! Everyone is helpful and friendly. My only issue is their super strict scheduling. I recommend arriving at least 15min early to find/pay for parking, get to the building, and call to check in before walking in. I was running 5min late when I parked and it took another 5min just to get there and check in. I overheard 3 people tell me that I barely made it on time.

Matthew Thackston: The staff at Atlas Vet are always so nice and understanding! We always have a great experience with them, even though our dog is nervous to go to the vet. They're very patient and it's clear they care about owners and their pets. Would highly recommend.

Calliope Crane: Kloeë Dawg established care there today and the care received was personable, lovely, welcoming, engaging, and taught us a lot. We are so happy to have found our vet in DC! 10 STARS FOR THE ATLAS FAM!!!!

Lehna Thompson: The staff at Atlas Vet are nothing short of AMAZING. As a first time pet owner, I would always have so many questions and concerns about my pet's behavior, but everyone I've spoken to has always been, friendly, attentive, understanding, and comforting. One staff member in particular, Zain, is so kind and sweet to both me and my cat. He truly cares about every person and pet that walks through the door and even gave my cat some of his favorite toy mice! Zain and the two doctors I've seen with my cat, Dr. Sanz and Dr. McCurdy, were wonderful and responsive to both my and my pet's needs. I highly recommend Atlas to anyone looking for a vet in the DMV area!!!

CityPaws Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Gabrielle: I used to really enjoy taking my pets to CityPaws but the management has gone downhill lately. The vet we most recently saw spent under 10 minutes with my dog and clearly wanted to leave as soon as possible. When we asked about vaccines we were told there wasn't time and to come in for a quick appointment in the future. When we brought her back in the vet again spent less than 5 minutes, suggested an x-ray for 24 hours of diarrhea (which we declined) and charged us over $300 including another examination cost without any transparency. After discussing how we were led on to believe this would not be the case, CityPaws did nothing except charge our card multiple times as soon as possible. I would recommend going to Friendship or any other facility to take care of your animals.
Response: Thank-you Gabrielle for the 5 stars.

Zachary Denney: Positive: Professionalismwhen I arrived today they were able to squeeze me in for my puppy that was having breathing issues. They were very nice and made me feel at ease. My puppy is much better but I appreciate them helping her at the last minute
Response: Zachary, Thank you so much for the kind review. So glad to hear that we were able to help!

Olga F: I haven’t been here yet because when I called in the front desk manager immediately cut me off as I was trying to explain my issue and said “have YOU ever been here before?” When I said no, she said the wait was 4-6 weeks. I said that unfortunately I couldn’t wait that long and started to say that I’ll check with other places to which she responded “well that’s the wait for everybody!” I think City Paws can benefit from some nicer staff.
Response: Hello Olga, We are disappointed to read of your review. Would you please call us at 202-232-7297 and ask to speak to the practice manager. Best, CityPaws

David M: Doctors are amazing. Support staff leaves a little to be desired. On my last visit, the assistant said she was pregnant and couldn’t pick up my (petite 10 pound dog) so she decided she would drag my already scared baby across the lobby down the hall. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk nurse, she argued with me rather than apologize.
Response: David, We are disappointed to read of your review. Please know this is not the standards we expect of our staff. We will have someone reach out to you today to learn more. Best to you, CityPaws

Cierra Piggott: I do not usually write reviews but the outstanding service my dog received today deserves recognition! She got to a small chicken bone outside and although I got most of it out of her mouth, she was acting uncomfortable and like she still had something stuck in the back of her throat. I first called Friendship emergency vet and they said they had a 1-3 hour wait (plus it is a 20 minute drive). I was about to leave but my husband called City Paws and told them the situation. They said bring her right in. I got there abt 10 minutes later and the staff was waiting outside the front door to meet us. They took my dog back immediately for the doctor to examine her, while I gave check-in info as we had never been there before. They called me back to speak to the doctor 5 minutes later. The vet was extremely smart and friendly. Overall the service blew me away. Everyone from start to finish was so nice and made me feel at ease. My dog perked up significantly and was back to her normal self before we left. I was back home in way less than 1 hour from when she even ate the bone. Thank you!!
Response: Thank you for the wonderful review. We are so pleased we were able to be there for you all. Best, Stephanie

Aerica Shimizu Banks: I’ve been a longtime client, since 2016 but this will likely be the last time I go out of my way to take my dog here. I scheduled an appointment a week out for time sensitive issues and got on the cancellation list. Was told there were several cancellations today, and rearranged my schedule to drive across town from deep in Southeast to make it. Rush hour starts at 3pm now apparently so hit a ton of traffic but still make it right at the advertised grace period of 15min . Call to check in and am placed on hold for 15 total minutes as we wait outside just to be told to reschedule and that the grace period has changed to 10min. Was I ever notified of this change? No. I received no call to confirm or check in if I was running late. Even the signage at the front desk says 15min grace period. So, two hour roundtrip for nothing. I thought the higher prices were worth paying for the appointment availability and attentiveness but those qualities no longer exist. Not to mention previous requests for medical records were ignored. Infuriating waste of time.
Response: Hi Aerica, We are disappointed to read of your experience. Would you mind giving us a call so that we may learn more.

Murray Penner: I highly recommend CityPaws. Their staff are helpful and professional, and their doctors are compassionate, kind, and knowledgeable. The only negative experience I ever had was having to wait a fairly long time for a nail trim for my cat but it was during COVID and because if a staff shortage so it’s understandable. It’s a quality and well-planned practice that I have complete confidence in. I especially appreciate Courtney up front who is always helpful and efficient.
Response: Thank you so much for the kind review. We will share with our team!

Weller Van Nostrand: The staff is awful specially the receptionists... I think they're not happy with their jobs. My advice to them look for another job! They say is their policy and I believe that this is the true considering that I read before about they only caring about the money. They don't care about your pets. I am going there for a while and always get disappointed with something new. They cannot follow your pet’s history and always do something wrong. The last one for us was the wrong rabies shot they gave to one of our dogs. By the way if you need to take your dog there for an emergency remember that they only take you in if your dog is having a stroke and they’re still gonna charge you the price for an emergency. So good luck for you that decide to take your dog to their care.
Response: Hello Weller, We are deeply disappointed to read of your experience. May we reach out to you to learn more? Best, Stephanie

J sam: They are very professional and friendly. The veterinarian very willing to answer all the concerns regarding the health of our baby. Thank you city pawn. With affection Sophia the husky❤

samantha baker: I've had mostly good experiences bringing my dog here for the past three years in DC. With that being said, when my dog was attacked and I needed someone to look at him immediately the front desk told me they would not see him because they "don't take emergencies" and suggested I go to a Virginia pet hospital. I'm not sure how this is a good solution for those who don't have vehicles, have been a client for years and live one block away. City Paws is great for routine pet needs but when you actually need them they extremely unhelpful.
Response: Hello Samantha, we are disappointed to read of your review. We hope your kiddo is doing well. May we reach out to you to learn more of the call. I am unable to locate your name in our system can you let me know your pets name and the name associated with your account. Best, Stephanie

Union Veterinary Clinic: what do users think?

Bob D.: This is my sweetheart Nilla. I'm 59 years old and and she's the first dog I've had in over 50 years! And yes there have been a lot of great cats before Nilla came, but being with Nilla these last 6 months or so has been one of the best experiences in my life. She's just amazing!
Response: Thank you for your 5-star review! We are so happy to hear about the bond you and Nilla have developed. She certainly is a sweet beautiful girl.

Kelly Leigh Deaton: Every time I take my dog to this vet clinic it’s a great experience. I had a scare last year where he had to undergo numerous tests and the vet called me regularly to update me on what was going on. I highly recommend this clinic. Much better than other clinics I have used in the past. And I never wait to be seen.
Response: Kelly, Thank you for your 5-star review! We are happy that you have had a positive experience with us. We strive to always provide the best care and service for you and your furry family member.

Christine Marie: I have been taking my dog to Union Vet for about 5 years. We have loved our experience. The team at Union Vet is super friendly, informative and helpful. Their exams are thorough and they take the time to answer any question I have. My dog is often very nervous and skittish at the vet but the team does a great job remaining patient and doing everything they can to make him feel safe. I highly recommend Union Vet!

Amanda Clinton: The staff is so kind to my Maizy - always patient and gentle with her. Dr. Appleby is great! He was thorough, never made me feel rushed, explained options and costs for my dog’s treatment and generally has a stellar bedside manner for animals and their humans. He is also very knowledgeable about Rx and specific conditions in my breed of dog. I recommended him to my friends seeking a vet. Thanks to the rest of staff, as well, who helped with the vaccines and payment. Everything went very smoothly.

Monique Hardy: Union Vet has always shown great care and consideration to me and my dogs. The vets have all worked with me to find the best solutions for care of my dogs, with flexibility and options on procedures, and thorough attention to detail. I highly recommend Union Vet. I believe they have the best interest at heart for my pet's health.

Aj Rp: This is the most expensive veterinarian clinic I've ever been to in my entire life, so prepare for good gouging. If there is an opportunity to charge you or up charge you, they will guaranteed. I've been here two or three times and always felt the staff had a bit of an edge to them. However, today was my last visit to this Clinic as the staff was beyond rude to the point where other customers outside shook their head and vocalized their amazement . i attempted to ask a staff member how much longer because I was told 25 minutes and was sitting outside in my car for an hour and 45 minutes. He ignored me totally. After calling a couple of times he came out dropped my dog's leash and medication on the ground and walked inside telling me off as he walked away. If that all was not enough, last thing I will say is I have yet to see a single dog walk out of that clinic that did not look like it was having a panic attack which makes me wonder how well the staff is treating the animals.

Kate Scandura: We have had a fantastic experience with Union Vet. We were going to another vet in the city, but that vet couldn't take us for a spay appointment for several months, so we contacted Union Vet, and they were able to get us in for a pre-surgery exam within two days and for the spay within a week after that. The pricing was also the most reasonable in the area that we could find: $555 for a spay (plus more for the pre-surgery exam and bloodwork and other incidentals, but it seemed like that was pretty standard). We were also really impressed with the vets and their staff. They spent much more time explaining everything to us and giving us our options than our previous vet did, and they were all very friendly and seemed very knowledgeable and competent. The spay went great-- our pup's scar is about as small and neat as you can expect, and she has recovered very quickly. They have also been very available for any questions we have had. I highly recommend Union Vet!
Response: Kate, Thank you for your 5-star review! We are delighted to hear that your puppy had a smooth recovery after her spay. We strive to provide the best service and care possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you and your pup need anything else.

Audra Dykman: I moved from overseas and my dog had not been able to necessarily have the same level of care where I was posted. The team was very understanding, talked me through different tests vs. vaccinations in addition to types of illnesses to watch out for in the DC area and helped answer all of my questions. Can't say much on costs as I'm coming from a place where I had house visits for less than $50. :)

Brooke Sherman: The staff at Union Veterinary is knowledgeable and friendly. I just moved to DC and am very happy I selected them as the vet for my new cat! Overall very positive experience for me and my pet.

Marvin Miller: I just can’t recommend this vet. We brought two cats here and they were siblings. Four years ago, due to liver failure, we put her brother to sleep and they botched it — he was facing away from us and as soon they sedated him, his heart stopped. And we didn’t have a chance to say good bye. This time, her sister was 19 years old and in rapid declining health. She absolutely hated vets so we didn’t bring her in. Would not take pills or even mixed in food. She wasn’t stupid. And because it was some time since we last brought her in, they said they had to do quality of life exam and kept asking me - rudely and coldly - implying we could have done this or that. I was floored. We struggled with the decision but we knew it was time. And the vet made me feel horrible and she did nothing to assure me. Very judgmental. She reluctantly admitted there was a lot of issues with her at end. They went ahead and put her to sleep. To add insult to the injury, I was told it would be $170 on phone. No. The final bill was $420. Just be warned. And I honestly do not know why I returned to this vet again. I will not again.

Palisades Veterinary Clinic: what do users think?

Tabitha Asher: This clinic’s customer care and service has unfortunately declined as the years continue. I attempted to call and see if there was any prescription food in stock I could stop by and grab as I have done this before and would not receive my online order in time. I am leaving town tonight and will not have enough food for the next 2 days to leave for my cats. First I was told that they do not have the food but that I could order online but would need to get an exam as my cats are less than 1 week past due for their annual exam. I explained that this was never explained to me before that an exam is required for the food, but I don’t have a problem bringing them I just cannot today as I am leaving town and really need food for them so they don’t go hungry. The girl interrupted me as I tried to explain this to her saying it doesn’t matter because I need an exam. Complete lack of compassion or empathy for my situation. Less than 1 week past due should not keep me from getting the food they have been eating for the past year. Additionally, I asked for my cats records as I would be terminating our relationship and for a refund of a fecal sample that was not “good” at their last exam. I said that I would at their next appointment. But since I will not be going back I have asked for a refund and one has not been rendered. My records were sent but with no apology or acknowledgment of any sort. Yes, I should have planned better, but you made me feel helpless today and it clearly came across you did not care about the situation I was in or that my cats would not have food. And to top it all off, the food I had ordered online, they made sure to decline it! And again, not communication or acknowledgment . I am a professional myself where I care for human patients. This is not how you treat people who pay you a high price for you services.

Bradley Fager: My family has been a loyal customers for decades with multiple pets. Unfortunately, this clinic has not been able to handle the pandemic rush in pet ownership well. Their care for existing patients has declined. When I myself got a new puppy, they weren't able to give him boosters in time. It wouldn't make sense for me to go to two different vets, so I changed vets for my older, 9 year old dog. They have also started charging extra for more urgent care that they didn't used to do. It's a shame they can't handle growth well...an opportunity squandered. Avoid unless you want to be treated as expendable and have to wait forever to get an appointment.

Jeff H: I've been going to this vet for over 30 years. This past year made me switch vets asap. Here's what did it for me: - They will give you medicine that is the same but different cost and quantity. For example, I used to get 150 days of meds for $168.00, then they just gave me 50 days worth of meds for $123.50. That's $370.50 for the same amount of days. Just 2.21 times the cost. I was not informed of this change nor the difference in cost. If it is backordered and this is a temporary solution, fine, but you have to tell me! Tell me that I'm receiving one third the amount of meds for over double the cost. One hilarious meds incident was when I called to get some prescriptions filled from the cardiologist they recommended, the woman on the phone said "they don't prescribe medication". Hmmm, then how have I been getting medication from you for the last two years? Seems odd, especially since I was holding a bottle of meds with "Palisades Veterinary Clinic" on the label. I had to convince her that their clinic prescribes medication. I hung up, called back, got someone different, no issues. So, again, the staff is terrible. - My dog was bleeding out her butt one morning. I called them the minute they opened. All their "emergency appointments" were full that day. What? My dog has blood coming out her butt and you will not see her right away? Nope. I could try the next day to see if any "emergency appointments" become available. This happened twice on two separate occasions for different reasons but I'd think blood coming out the butt would be enough of a reason to make some time to at least see my dog for 5 mins. - Does your dog need to get a sterile urine sample? They will give you a pee catcher for $70 to try to catch you dog's pee. Even if you're successful, it will likely be contaminated and you'll have to come in for a sterile sample using a needle anyway. They will constantly find ways to upcharge you. - If a bridge unexpectedly closes and you might be 5 mins late, they make you reschedule your appt that you've had for months. Even if you call to let them know, which is how I found out. Or you can pay a $160 penalty for being a few mins late. But when you take time off work for your 2:30 appt and are standing outside at 2:25, they will let you in at 2:50 if you're lucky, but you don't get $160 from them for wasting your time. Great veterinarians, terrible service, unnecessarily expensive, will upcharge you, horrible staff, and cannot be relied upon for an emergency. Edit: Somehow my review was removed so I'm posting it again. Looking forward to the owners embarrassing and unprofessional response.
Response: We made the medication issue right after management spoke to you on the phone, multiple times. Management personally oversaw the ordering, and shipping of this medication to make up for the initial issue. As for our lateness policy, we have never turned a client away for being 5 minutes late. We typically call clients when they are 5 minutes late, and ask them their approximate arrival time. If they are going to be more than 10 to 15 minutes late, we asked clients to either reschedule or wait to be seen when a doctor is free. Medicine is not an exact science. To predict the exact ending point to each appointment is impossible. Clients in both human and veterinary often have to wait past their appointment's start time for a doctor to begin their examination. I am sorry your pet had an urgent medical problem. Unfortunately, we can't service every client/patient when these situations arise. That is why there are multiple urgent care and emergency facilities in the area. As for your other complaints, it seems like a smaller clinic would better service your needs. I wish you luck in your future endeavors. Thank you for your many years of care we were able to provide your pets.

A P: DO NOT RECOMMEND. My dog had been seen here several times before unexpectedly becoming sick overnight. I called the clinic the next morning, and they scheduled an appointment. I was asked to bring a stool sample, which caused us to be 15 minutes late because it took my dog an abnormal amount of time to go (because she was sick, as I explained over the phone). I called ahead to let the clinic know that I would be late and was told that I would be charged a fee (amounting to $160) because we were late. At that point, I had a choice between my very sick pet not being seen or paying the fee, so I agreed. I waited an hour for the techs to come get my pet and another hour after that for her to be seen. $700 and several tests later, I took my dog home where she continued to get sick for the next several days. I eventually took her to urgent care (I refused to bring her back to Palisades) where the vet diagnosed her with a simple case of Kennel Cough, for which they prescribed an over-the-counter medication totaling $5. The full urgent care visit totaled $200, significantly less than going to Palisades. After my experience, I came here to read the reviews. I agree with several other reviewers that this vet is WAY more expensive than other options throughout the city. They also seem to add on unnecessary services/charges to drive-up the bill, without informing you of the cost first. If you don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on minor issues, I would NOT recommend. The schedulers/tech staff also seemed very dismissive. I would expect a vet that charges so much to have top-notch customer service. Experienced owners may have better experiences.

Melinda Roth: THE WORST!!!!! RUN from this practice which, when you need them the most, will be so overbooked that they cannot squeeze your beloved pet in...My two small dogs were injured at a dog sitter's house yesterday when a big dog got in a fight. I arrived in town late last night and scooped them up and called OUR VET for several years -- Palisades first thing this morning because I knew they needed to be seen -- especially since we are driving to Iowa tomorrow morning for the college baseball national championship (I certainly cannot fly and leave them with the dog sitter). I waited all day, calling several times and at 430 pm was told the Doctors are all leaving at 5 and I should just take them to an emergency room (where there is a 3-4 hour wait and it will be several hundred dollars more). This is NOT how a practice should be managed and how patients should be treated. Not to mention they are beyond expensive, and way more than other practices. Do your pet a favor, and find a practice that cares more about your pets than the money. ************And of course Palisades Vet responds to say they are very busy and they prefer not to refer people elsewhere, but kept me hoping all day long...never got back to me, told me that if only I would have spoken to the right person, they could have found a way...I was just not VIP enough, let's face it. You do NOT turn away HURT dogs in PAIN needing medical attention who are YOUR patients. You find a way. Every medical office has ways of squeezing people in they want to keep as patients. They just don't care because there are more suckers who will pay $20 more per exam than the going rate and when their pets need immediate medical attention, they will tell you to go elsewhere...guess what? I am never coming back and I hope this review reaches as many people as possible so that potential (or even current) customers choose another practice that will be there for them, the way your practice just simply was not...
Response: Unfortunately due to the increased demand for veterinary services in the DC region, our daily fill rate often reaches 100% or beyond. We have made adjusments to our scheudle to provide services for those who need day of care, while limiting the number of new clients/patients and those who do not live in the Palisades neighborhood. Even after these conssions, we are often forced to refer patients to seek alternative care. This is not our preference, but sometimes necessary for us to continue to provide quality patient care. This is a tough decision determined based on patient load and available staffing. Every member of our staff cares deeply for our patients. The only reason to enter this field is due to our love for animals and need to assist them. I hope you were able to witness this over the years in which you trusted our staff with your pets. I wish you good luck in your future endeavors, and know that we will be here if you choose to utilize our services again.

Susan Miller: I took my dog here a few weeks ago. Not only was my appointment late, but the guy (with green hair) had a slight attitude when picking up my dog. They ask you to purchase expensive medications that seem excessive and unnecessary. The hospital just doesn't seem too organized in my opinion. My dog was happy when i got him back so that earned a star. I'd recommend improving customer relations. Especially if you'd like to establish a solid customer base.
Response: I am sorry you were not fully satisfied with service received. I can assure you that our veterinarians do not prescribe medication or preventatives that are unnecessary for you let's health or wellness/preventative care. I would be happy to review your medical recordsto provide better understanding of our recommendations. Thank you for visiting our clinic.

Lindsay Ancellotti: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, ValueI've had poor vet experiences in the DMV, and it was such a relief to be treated so well at Palisades! The customer service was amazing and made me feel at ease about anything going on with my dog. Highly recommend!
Response: Thank you for the positive review. We are so happy to hear that you had a great experience at our clinic. Our staff loved meeting you and Poppy, and can't wait to see you both again.

Susie O'Mara: Positive: Professionalism, QualityI took my mom's miniature poodle there for grooming. Derrick found she had mats and we agreed she needed to have a pretty close shave, not the puppy cut we were planning. She looks absolutely ADORABLE! He did a fabulous job and the staff were all thorough and professional.
Response: Thank you for the great review. We are very happy that you were pleased with Derek's work. Hopefully we will see you again soon.

Laura Carey: We have come here for several years for our cat as it is very convenient. Also, the groomer is fantastic! Our cat recently got a wonderful lion cut which really helps keep him clean (and apparently our cat was totally happy during the process and didn’t require sedation)!
Response: Thank you for the positive review. We are very glad to hear that you are happy with our Groomer. We will be sure to pass review on to him and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Jessica: I brought my longhaired cat here for his first grooming because I was pleased with how they trimmed his nails at his last vet appointment, and I generally was very happy with the experience. I asked them to trim the fur around his face. The groomer shaved through half of his whiskers so they're only about 1-1.5 inches long on one side. (I also asked for the fur between his paws to be trimmed down, but they missed the back paws.) I'm frustrated because I felt safe bringing him here for grooming services since it's a vet that I trust. If you can't have your pet safely groomed at a vet then where can you go? If it were just a cosmetic issue I wouldn't bother leaving a review, but this is not okay for cats, and I expect a veterinary clinic to know that.
Response: I am very sorry that you did not receive the service that you were expecting based on previous visits. I will speak with our grooming team and discuss these concerns to try and minimize this from happening again. I am happy that you trust our veterinary staff and hope to see you again. Feel free to reach out to any member of our management team if you would like to discuss this matter further

Animal Clinic of Anacostia: what do users think?

Maria Knatt: This is the only place I take my pets. The staff is wonderful and many people bring there pets here because of the excellent service and prices are reasonable compared to most clinics. It stays busy but the wait is worth it. The doctor and staff is phenomenal !!

Mallory Uzel: Two days before Christmas, while visiting from out of town, my dog tweaked his leg and was quite uncomfortable. The receptionist here was so kind on the phone and let us know they closed early that day but could fit us in if we were able to get over there quickly. I had called 15 other clinics who were all booked out even for emergencies (understandably, with the pandemic and staffing issues all places are experiencing) so I was already so appreciative they were able to see my poor ouchy old man! The lovely, kind ladies at the animal clinic of Anacostia were able to fit my pup in quickly after arrival, do a quick exam to confirm nothing was majorly wrong, get meds on board, and they were so sweet to me, his worried mom throughout! Their prices were also extremely reasonable, and I witnessed them provide the same kind care and attention to another gentleman in the lobby with an ill dog as we were on our way out (the staff was staying late to make sure that pup was cared for). So many thanks to Dr Ashley and the rest of the ladies, and I can’t recommend their kind care enough!

Sherita Brandon: When I first got Rockie, he was 6 months and full of life! He wanted to know everything! The only thing he didn't like was getting his nails clipped. The lady clipped one down too short and it bled so as he was crying, I was too. We finished and he's good. Still hates getting them clipped, but he knows he has to. In fact, we're going tomorrow morning ❤️ I love this clinic. Nice service, clean, very pet friendly and convenient to and from my home. Anaconda Animal Clinic will ALWAYS be our home for pet care. Thank you Dr. Ashley & your team! Y'all Rock!!

Jovan Perry: The staff is very friendly and compassionate towards the animals. As well the prices are very reasonable. I really enjoy the care that my animals receive when I take them their!!

Sunyetta Thornton: Dr Ashley office is the best with working with animals and taking care of her pets thank you for being such a caring and loving animal vet I have been coming to you for years getting my dogs treated and the pricing is not bad ☺️

Angela Baker-Fonville: The doctor is so good with Max we have been going there for 10 yrs and I would not change a thing. She is a great Veterinarian

Elaine Taylor: I would give 10 stars if I could! Animal Clinic of Anacostia is phenomenal. It was the overall experience for me. I don't care about my time in this circumstance, I care about the quality of care that my pup receives. Dr. Ashley and her team are stealthy, kind, supportive and informative. All other vets in the DC metro area have been doing dog only vet check ups, meaning, I wait outside while my pup goes in without my support and guidance. With that, my pup boy suffers from anxiety and Dr. Ashley, today not only instilled confidence in me, but in my pup also to get our vaccinations completed safely! I felt confident and comforted by our overall experience today, and we will absolutely be coming back. Thank you Animal Clinic of Anacostia!

Sarah Tilahun: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value5 stars all the way. I started taking my pet to them as soon as we got him at 2 1/2 months. They have ALWAYS been professional, courteous, & reliable. They give great resources and are willing to answer all the questions of a new pet owner. Their prices are way more than fair. As long as you get there early you will be seen.

Turquoise Afro: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, ValueDr. Ashley is wonderful. This is the best animal clinic in DC. Very ethical, compassionate with intuitive advice based on decades of experience not motivated to make a quick buck by recommending risky procedures for the bottom line. A breath of fresh air. 10 stars.

Tina Graham: Dr.Ashley is the best! She treats my fur babies great each visit! Prices are great..:)

P Street Pet Practice: what do users think?

Priscilla Thomas: P Street Pet Practice is extremely professional, quick, and friendly when I take my mini dachshund, Bailey, in. Dr. Teferi is clearly extremely knowledgeable about each breed of dog and attentive to individual pet needs. I’m never worried when I drop my dog off to him and the other staff at P Street Pet Practice. They’re great at communication and always update me throughout my dog’s appointment. Something I really appreciate is that they let me know beforehand approximately what I’ll be paying and break down the costs line by line. I’m so happy my dog has a great vet that I can trust to provide the best care for him!

C Banks: Love this veterinary practice. Everyone is so compassionate and accommodating and I really appreciate it and their dedication to the animals they care for. It really starts at the top. Thank you Dr. T and your staff for all that you all do. You make the difficult times in our and our pets' lives a little bit easier and I couldn't be more thankful for it.

Jenn S: I've been so impressed with Dr. Tereri and his team so far! I brought home a rescue pup a week ago, and they were so helpful about making time to fit me in as soon as possible. They were very professional and caring at my dog's wellness check, and even sent a follow up email to check in. One thing that really impressed me: I changed my dog's name in the days between when I initially made my appointment to when I filled out his pre-appointment form--the staff caught this change without missing a beat! They greeted him by his new name the minute he walked in--I wouldn't have blamed them for missing something like that, but they clearly pay attention to detail and truly care about the animals in their care.

Jacquelyn Miller: Dr. Teferi and his staff are so kind and professional. We've had to take our dog in for a few minor emergencies and they are so quick to help and do what they can to fit him into the full schedule. It's a small neighborhood practice with a ton of kindness and empathy for when your pup is under the weather.

Karla Valcárcel: P Street Pet Practice took great care of my cat, Luna, for her annual checkup and vaccination. She was calm and happy after the appointment and the staff seemed so friendly. I’ll be returning to this vet in the future.

Amy Chiou: The vet was terrific! I was pet sitting for a friend and her dog wasn't feeling well. She emailed P Street Pet Practice and they suggested I bring the puppy over. They were open until 7p so I was able to make it over there after work. The vet was expecting us and immediately received the puppy to check her out. I waited in the car (Covid-19) and they were ready with a diagnosis and antibiotics shortly. They billed my friend directly and took down my number so they could call me the next day and see how the puppy was doing. Really lovely experience!

Kimberley Portugal: My dog has severe allergies. He was miserable. We just relocated back to DC and were referred to P St. Pet Practice. They were able to squeeze us in quickly to give my sweet Pete some relief. He is feeling so much better after his visit. Couldn’t have asked for better service.

Hannah Mirviss: Very friendly staff and cute practice. Can be hard to get an appointment like all vets in the area, but attentive and kind to my cat! Will be my primary vet going forward. Thanks!

Tommy Marianos: Amazing place to take your pet! Always extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating. I can't recommend them enough!

Erica Taylor: I love going to this Vet, the doctor and the whole staff are so friendly and caring for my Furbabies and do their best to get my babies in when they are not feeling well. Of course during these times I do my best to call at least two weeks in advance for routine checkups due to appointments filling quickly but overall a great experience would 100 percent recommend.

Collins Hospital for Animals: what do users think?

Nathan Lapin: It was easy to make an appointment with Collins hospital for animals. They followed COVID-19 procedures ensuring safety for both themselves and us, as well as our pet. They came out and got our pet and called us when they were almost done. Then they had us watching how they trim our pets nails, which is really helpful going forward. Watching them with our pet made us feel like he was in good hands. They were gentle and kind with our pet, which put us at ease. This is definitely a prime place to take an animal to the veterinarian! I highly recommend.

Samantha Horn: I have taken both my dogs to Collins since moving to DC. They have affordable vet care. The staff is very caring. The vets are empathetic and truly care about the animals. They have even referred me to AFFORDABLE outside places when something could not be performed in house. 10/10!
Response: Thank you so much for the review!

Erin Patricia: I feel fortunate that someone of Dr. Cabaniss's caliber--and who understands birds--is only a mile away! She has discovered some things, like high sugar in the urates of one of my parakeets, that other vets missed. Dr. Cabaniss is thorough, knowledgeable, and kind. I never feel rushed in the follow up calls after a drop off. Her team is is helpful, efficient, and courteous about scheduling appointments and getting the doctor's answers to questions they can't answer.
Response: Thank you Erin. It was a pleasure caring for Frankie and Phyllis yesterday and all your budgies over the years.

Stephane Carnot: i have been going to Collins Hospital for the last 10 years as they are near my house. every time you leave them a message even for an emergency they do not call back. I call them last week because one of my dogs was having a huge growth on is face that was painful that appeared in the last 2 days. it was a teeth infection. luckily there is Friendship hospital that helped me and my dog out.
Response: I am sorry about your experience. I would like to assure you that we always call back clients who leave messages. Sadly sometimes messages are just dead air or total silence. Not sure why that happens but it does, daily. I believe your voice mail was one of those. Again, I am sorry you had a bad experience but grateful that FHA was able to care for your pet in a timely fashion.

Christine Giglio: Thank you Dr. Jay and staff for taking care of our new pup! We were able to fly safely and calmly with lil Jib. He slept in my arms during the entire flightWith love, Christie & Brad🐾

Tisha Mondal: My experience here was great. It was my first time going to a vet after adopting my cat Marbles. Dr. Fischer was wonderful and very attentive to Marbles. She took her time to explain things I needed to know & took a lot of care in answering the questions I had. Unfortunately, I had to change to another animal hospital near my house as this place is a bit far. I thought that in cases of emergencies, it perhaps would be better to have a clinic nearby. Collins Animal Hospital is still the best and I wish it were closer.
Response: Thank you so much for the lovely review. Sorry to see you go but glad you had a good experience with us.

Wendy Wilson: I am so pleased to have found Collins Hospital. I switched over a year ago from my previous vet, because of proximity - one of my cats hates car rides. I have had very good service and have been especially impressed by Drs. F and C. When I lost a cat to illness last year, these women were professional and compassionate, two important qualities in a vet. This morning, one of the staff members managed to squeeze me in for a last minute appointment, after I discovered a sore on one of the cats. Finally, for DC - and in particular - Upper Georgetown, their services are reasonable.

Annaliese Nurnberg: Love that Collins treats exotics, like my pet rabbit. My poor bun had a congested nose and had been sneezing a lot, so I decided to take her in. This was my first visit to Collins, and I was impressed. Dr. LaPorta was very nice and explained everything so clearly. My rabbit usually gets very stressed out when she has to go to the vet, but she seemed far less freaked out than usual. We got the treatment she needed without spending too much time or money!

Carly Whitmer: We had the most fantastic experience with Dr. Cabaniss with our two guinea pigs. She was in no rush, took her time explaining everything and made our two girls feel right at home and comfortable. Her tech, Darcy, was also great and was gentle and comfortable. We highly recommend Collins Animal Hospital. Wish we could give it 6 stars!
Response: Thank you so much for the review. We are glad Noogie and Scruffles had such a nice visit. We look forward to seeing them in the future.

MICHAEL WALLOVER: I own a rabbit. What many would consider a normal pet is actually considered exotic by veterinarians. Finding Collins Hospital was great. Not only do they know how to handle animals, but they explain things very well and have nail clipping appointments. There is no question that I will be heading back to there many more times.

VCA MacArthur Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Emi Ruff: I really cannot recommend VCA MacArthur if you have a dog with anxiety. My pup can be afraid of vets, so he should be muzzled for the vets’ safety if they want. However, he is NOT aggressive, and most vets/groomers understand how to work with dogs like him. Most will also listen to me when I say this fear is recent, and I want to really make sure it doesn’t get worse. Not MacArthur. Our second time here, I took Teddy in for a booster shot, which was curbside. The tech saw the muzzle note on his file, and came to get him with the assumption he was aggressive. I am honestly shocked that she’s a vet tech — she talked over me and refused to listen to me explain that I’m happy to muzzle him, but wanted to talk to her about making sure it wasn’t going to further traumatize him. Obviously, any dog owner knows how the story ends — I got flustered trying to explain myself without raising my voice, Teddy sensed that something wasn’t right and freaked out, and we had a bad experience. I’m glad he was muzzled, because he ran out of there after his shot like something awful had happened, not like he was excited to see me. Two days later, I took him to a new daycare and he was terrified of the receptionists. How you treat dogs has a big impact. I’ll be switching to a vet that gets that. I’d pay their higher prices if they matched that with empathy in their staff, but the value is not there for me or my dog.
Response: Emi, we are disappointed by what you've shared. We're committed to doing everything we can to help our patients feel comfortable when they visit, so it's upsetting to hear that you do not feel like this was reflected in your experience. We'd like to further discuss this with you, so please send us an email at reviews.vcamacarthur@vca.com. Thank you.

Jonathan DeGange: We take our Boston here and are always treated well. Good yearly package options for checkups, incidentals and flea/heartworm.
Response: Jonathan, it's great to hear that you and your pet are always treated well here. Thank you for supporting us online!

Marcia Travlino: This VCA is amazing! Brought our new puppy in and were treated so well. Dr. Friesh is FABULOUS. Takes the time to explain and truly listens to your questions. Another plus is its in Georgetown. Pretty easy to get to from Arlington. Definitely recommend VCA MacArthur.😀❤👍
Response: Marcia, thank you for your amazing support and recommendation of Dr. Frisch and our team who appreciate being here for you and your beloved puppy. If you ever need anything else, please let us know. Best regards, VCA MacArthur Animal Hospital

Jason Yeung: Knowledgeable staff and vets! They’ve done a great job at taking care of both my dogs. If you’re going to use them as your go-to vet for everything, I recommend enrolling your pups in the VCA CareClub. Depending on the dog it’s $50-$80 a month but it covers all the routine puppy check-ups, shots, vaccines, and some other things as well. They started offering grooming as well, however, I can’t speak to their quality. For my standard poodle (65lbs), I was quoted around $80-$100.
Response: Thank you for sharing your helpful insight, Jason. It makes us smile to know you found our team to be knowledgeable and helpful, and we encourage you to reach out anytime we can be of assistance.

Sarah Victoria: VCA has cared for my goldendoodle Clover so much, even without the Plan he has been able to be squeezed in for an appointment when we were concerned about something. For example, my puppy was limping and I was very scared on the reasons why but they took him in has an emergency appointment and squeezed him in last minute and Checked him, with the right prescription given he was himself less than 3 days he stopped limping. How, The only concern and thing I would be aware about is the prices are high I wish VCA can accommodate their prices to be more efficient for patients, i can say they are high in prices but overall their staff and vets love my goldendoodle and they communicate every detail with your pet. My goldendoodle loves going to the vet because of them.
Response: Clover is very popular among our team, Sarah, and we appreciate knowing that we have your vote of confidence when it comes to his care. We value your support and will always be as accommodating as we can when it comes to our services. Thank you so much for your kind words.

G H: Oh! They are extremely nice. Our Rottweiler (Whiskey Lullaby) is always happy whenever we visit them
Response: Thank you for the wonderful feedback! We're likewise more than happy to take good care of your precious dog! Sincerely, VCA MacArthur Animal Hospital

Rietta Campbell: Love this place! I don't know where to start about how wonderful their team is. We came here with our 2mo old kitten Link after a poor experience at another hospital, stressed and concerned about his health. As soon as we walked through the door, the receptionists greeted us warmly. Jeffrey got everything set up for our appointment in no time at all and we were seen within just a few minutes. The best part of the experience by far was how gentle our technician was with Link. He came in agitated and nervous, but she made sure to shower him with a ton of love. Even while he was being given a shot of fluids to stay hydrated, she stayed there with him the whole time, petting him and talking to make sure he was comfortable. I've never heard a cat purr so much during a doctors visit! (I really regret not remembering her name =(! ) Dr. Courtney also seemed very knowledgeable about everything that was going on. She informed us of all the options on how best to look after Link, laid out the cost of everything, and overall showed a lot of concern for his wellbeing. She and our technician at the time made this visit so easy and pleasant. We'll definitely be bringing our cats back to them again. Thank you guys for everything you do!
Response: Rietta, you're very welcome for everything! It was a pleasure for our team to ensure that Link was taken care of with lots of love and that you were also updated throughout. Link's healthcare is important to us and we'll continue to be here for you if you need anything else. Sincerely, VCA MacArthur Animal Hospital

Grant Lockhard: There were a number of communication issues with our recent check-up appointment for our dog. I was told to bring a stool sample, which I did. They didn’t ask for the the stool sample, but then drew blood without telling me or explaining that was their plan beforehand. No one asked when my dog had last taken medicine, or explained that I should wait for the test results before starting the prescription - I had to ask to verify. This could have been dangerous to my dog if I started meds without knowing to wait for the test results (which could have killed him). There was a lack of communication and understanding, on the purpose of the appointment and the procedures, while finding as many additional procedures (and extensive) After our appointment, the vet was highly focused on a different follow-up procedure, which while may be beneficial to our dog, unfortunately came off only as a money grab.
Response: Grant, we are truly sorry for any miscommunication you experienced, and can assure you that what you've described does not reflect our high standards for offering informative and thorough care. Your concerns are important to us and we definitely do not want to leave you with a negative impression of us. When you have a moment, please email our hospital manager at Nunet.Amen-Ra@vca.com. Sincerely, VCA MacArthur Animal Hospital

Tasia and June: Great service from informed professionals who care for your pet. I was in and out in under an hour for an annual physical and rabies vaccine for my cat. My cat was pretty upset and anxious to be in a new place, but Charity was very gentle with her and conducted as much of the exam as possible with her still in the carrier. Dr. Murphy answered all of my questions thoroughly and both she and Charity were very kind to my cat.
Response: Tasia and June, thank you so much for sharing your kind words with us! Dr. Murphy, Charity, and our team are honored to treat your cat like one of our very own and address any questions or concerns you need. Sincerely, VCA MacArthur Animal Hospital

Justin: The doctors and staff take excellent care of Murphy. Dr. Elkins is great with our puppy and goes the extra mile to provide us with additional information and tips on how to raise a healthy golden retriever. Our pup loves visiting, he rushes up the stairs to say hello to all of his friends at the VCA. I highly recommend this vet!
Response: Justin, thank you so much for positively highlighting our doctors and staff, as it's been an honor for Dr. Elkins and our team to have been here for your precious Murphy. Thanks for the feedback and recommendation!

Dupont Veterinary Clinic: what do users think?

Marcela Pineda: If I could give 0 stars, I would. My WORST NIGHTMARE! Back in 2020, on a 6th or July, we came with our HEALTHY, HAPPY AND LOVED Yorkshire Terrier- (Cocky) because he had been “acting weird” for the past few hours… he had vomited the night before and was coughing which never happened to him and so we decided to bring him in. As covid was going strong, we were not allowed to go in with him, Dr. MAVERICH took him in, he said his coughing was due to “stomach issues” “nothing to worry about” my sister and I insisted that he double checked as it wasn’t a regular occurrence for him however, again “nothing to worry about” prescribed him some cerenia “for his vomit” and painkillers. However, little did we know that this misdiagnosis and malpractice from this place would lead us to say goodbye to our best friend forever. Hours later, we called because he didn’t seem to get better, same response…We decided to go to the ER at another hospital and they did an RX and found out he had aspiration pneumonia (fluids in his lungs) which they said was obvious by the symptoms described, he was left there in a incubator for hours trying to reverse all the time we had lost from visiting Dupont Veterinary Clinic. It wasn’t possible. absolutely veterinary negligence/malpractice. It went against standard of care, as they didn’t care enough to throughly rule out anything other than guessing “stomach issues” and now my dog is DEAD. Took me two years to be able to write a review, as I am still mourning his death and feel shame for trusting this place and not trusting my gut feeling when I knew something other than what was diagnosed was going on. A tragedy and every pet parent’s WORST nightmare. No one deserves this pain, trusting professionals to MURDER one’s loved pet, not to mention the psychological distress caused on us. Will NEVER EVER recommend Dupont Veterinary Clinic to Anyone.
Response: We are very sorry for the traumatic experience you and family went through. No one should have to go through that. Unfortunately, recommended diagnostics were declined, which would have provided our staff with important information. This inhibits our ability to create a full treatment plan. In our field, the more information we received, the better we can treat our patients. I am not passing any fault on to you. Clients deny aspects of our treatments plans often. But to say that we didn't care or try is something we cannot stand for.

kristi viies: I have been taking my cat and dog there and the veterinarians have been nice, and the staff as well, until recently. Due to the pandemic and all the new puppies they are probably swamped, so I haven’t been able to get an appointment and have been going to Friendship Animal Hospital and VCA SouthPaws. I did, however, take my pup there this morning for wellness exam. I was late, walked in and apologized and said I had an appointment. The woman at the front desk said if you are 15 minutes late, you will have to reschedule. No good morning, no nothing. I looked at the time, it was barely 10 minutes. 7:38/39 instead of 7:30. I could have been the first customer. She left and meanwhile another member of staff walked in, very friendly (5 stars for her), said hello to my dog and checked me in. The first woman returned and said the exam fee is 75, but I would have to pay $150. Or that I can reschedule. I understand, rules are rules. Just be a bit nicer about it? Like sorry but I’m afraid you have to reschedule? However, it is safe to say she was rude. Bedside manners are important. I would expect a veterinarian office (a place full of cute cats and dogs) to have friendly people. I understand, clients can be difficult as well, but so often I see the opposite. So I’m going to a different vet now.

Sean J. Kent: PROFITEER WARNING for most pet owners, man's best friend is another member of the family and deserves the best care, but you need to be alert to profiteers, some of the veterinarians at this place are out to make an extra buck, they pad the bill with unnecessary tests and procedures. Speaking from experience, I suggest you approach this otherwise excellent veterinary clinic with caution -- never hurts to question your doctor so why not your dog or cat's.
Response: We are sorry to hear that you feel this way. Our veterinarians practice top notch medicine, but are also great at giving realistic options for treatment plans that meet a person's stated budget. We are happy to give cost estimates and strive to spend as much time as necessary to answer any questions that clients may have. Most importantly, the veterinarians and staff love animals and treat our patients like they treat their own beloved pets. It is not the first time a reviewer has felt that our costs are high; however, most people understand the cost of retaining high quality staff while practicing high-quality medicine in the heart of Washington, D.C. Trying to scare away clients by publicly labeling our practice with "PROFITEER WARNING" (while not giving any facts to back up the claim or privately reaching out to address your concerns) is unfair and does not take into consideration that the doctors and staff of this business have dedicated their lives to helping animals in need. Although we have never claimed to be a non-profit business, no one gets into the veterinary industry to get rich. If you would like to discuss this further we would be happy to speak with you over the phone or in person." Thank you.

Kayla Cross: Today I was walking my dog and he started pulling on his leash. I was confused before I realized we were across the street from Dupont Circle Veterinary Clinic. My pup loves the people at the clinic so much he WANTS to go to the vet! It shows how well the staff takes care of him. As for quality of care, he’s gone here since he was 9 weeks old - they got him fully vaccinated on schedule during a very busy time and have taken in him for same day appointments when I have concerns. The clinic also did his neutering procedure and he healed quickly with no complications. He primarily sees Dr. Jones, who is extremely knowledgeable and thoroughly answers all my questions. I hope the clinic continues to expand their use of apps like VitusVet and online based appointment/contact systems. All in all, five star experience!
Response: Thank you for the positive review. Our staff really appreciates it. We are very happy that we have been able to provide Oscar with high quality medical care and for yourself excellent customer service. We look forward to seeing you and Oscar again.

Erin McDevitt: I came to Dupont Vet on a recommendation from a friend and I have been very pleased with the care my cats have received over the last two years. My 15-year old has had quite a few health issues since I adopted him three years ago, and DVC has been very helpful in working with me to figure out what is going on. They also did an excellent job on the neuter and care for my 2 year-old and have always remarked on how well behaved my cats are when they come to visit :) On COVID-19 precautions, while a little frustrating to not be in the room with the vet to point out issues over the past year, I understand the need to set up these procedures and am very glad to be back inside the office to be with my cats, especially now that my senior kitty is experiencing some more serious chronic issues. Pricing....not much to be done there. I've been to other vets in the city and price differences are largely negligible. DVC has always understood the cost aspect of getting prescription medicine and has had no problem writing them for me to take to other pharmacies. We do live in an expensive city and the prices are what I pay for the convenience of having a vet right down the street and with excellent care from their staff. I will continue to bring my cats to DVC because of the great experiences with Dr. Rosen and (more recently) with Dr. Randall. I especially appreciate having more than one vet in practice who can see my cats on short notice -- they've made it very clear they review previous visits notes when discussing treatment options and next steps. One thing I would suggest for DVC is to be more upfront on their estimates for surgical procedures. I trust my vets to do the right thing by my cats and I already brace myself for costs, including those unexpected, but it would be helpful to get a better ballpark of what I'm going to pay.
Response: Thank you for the positive review. Our staff appreciates very much. I will make sure the Dr. Rosen and Randall see this. We look forward to seeing you soon.

c ginther: Dupont Vet clinic was recommended to me several years ago by others with German Shepherds. Never been disappointed, three dogs later. Very courteous and helpful front desk, solid vet techs, and expert treatment. While I typically ask for Dr. Dan Shilito because of his German Shepherd experience, I've had other Doctors and have always been pleased. Treatments are on time, communications via email phone and face to face are always clear and easy to understand, and the staff will recommend a whole host of options for whatever is ailing your pet. My dogs have had exams, vaccines, labs and surgeries with these folks, and never an issue. I am very happy with my vet!
Response: Thank you for the positive review. I am gland our staff is able to provide excellent veterinary care and service for many years. We look forward to seeing your family very soon.

Adrian Palma: The staff and vets are professional, attentive, and genuinely care about your pet. However, do think twice before buying any medication directly from them. A generic drug they just prescribed for my dog cost me $70+ at the DuPont Vet Clinic, while online sources price the same drug and quantity at $20. I support local businesses and understand that local prices will inevitably be higher, but this clinic’s med prices should not be 3.5x higher than other pharmacies. Again, this is a great place to get care for your pet, but please do your research on medicine costs before handing over your credit card to the receptionist.

Doug Deming: Franc has made a complete recovery and is back to her loving, playful activities. Dr. Blalock was professional, knowledgeable, kind, and courteous to Franc and us. She is a rare doctor which has all of those attributes. Furthermore, the entire staff was friendly and helpful during our visit.
Response: Thank you for the positive review. We are so happy that Franc is doing well and that you were happy with the care our entire staff provided. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Taylor lewis: Critical: QualityVery disappointed in the level of care from DuPont vet. We have a very anxious rescue, and I would have expected staff to be more kind and not label her as "bad" as I expect more from animal caregivers. We will not return, and would not recommend if you want to feel you can trust your vet to take kind care of your pet.

Kwame Joseph Licensed Realtor: Terrible and rude customer service. Whomever I spoke to have an insulting habit of talking down to you. I cannot and will never recommend this place. The sad thing I used to live down the street from them and I went there out of convenience. How we I cannot recommend becusee they do not know how to talk to their customers!
Response: I am sorry that you had a poor experience. Unfortunately we are not able to provide any goods to patients who have not had a examination with a veterinarian in the last year, or who have overdue diagnostics. This was the case here. Administering preventatives to a patient with overdue diagnostics can be harmful, causing adverse reactions.

District Veterinary Hospital Eastern Market: what do users think?

Nia Spencer: Our dog Lacey has been a patient at District Vet for two+ years and we are huge fans of the practice. Dr. Evans is fantastic - she's highly knowledgeable, caring, responsive and a great listener. The staff of the practice is also wonderful. Professional, kind, prompt, warm, efficient...I cannot say enough good things about District Vet. Highly recommend.
Response: Thank you! We appreciate the love right back. And of course give our best belly rubs to Lacey.

Chris Atkins: They were great! My dog had an excellent experience and he was really well taken care of. If your pet ever needs care make an appointment here. One of the best vets in Capitol Hill

Christel Schmidt: My dog Hartley overcame his fear of the vet office with the help of our favorite tech Auntie Dev. Now Hartley loves to go visit there even when he doesn’t have an appointment. She even has him acting brave for shots & exams. It’s a real love story!

Kelly Ryan: If I could give more stars, I would. Dr. Evans and crew are amazing. We started taking our French Bulldog puppy here as soon as he came home and have been nothing short of amazed at the quality care, support, and customer service. It’s easy to book an appointment, they communicate clearly before each visit, and follow up to check in on our pup afterwards. Most importantly, they are so very supportive, understanding, and offer great advice. Really impressed at every level!
Response: Hi Kelly! Thank you for the kind words and support! The crew works hard every day to provide the best care and service. I will share your warmth with everyone in our morning meeting tomorrow. Many thanks for the love.

Haley: I must say that I really appreciate this practice. The staff at District Vet Eastern Market have helped me keep my beloved pitbull happy and healthy, despite his chronic skin issues. Dr. Evans especially has been the primary care provider for my pup, and she has gone above and beyond. I trust them. They rock. 100% recommend.
Response: Thank you for the kind words and support! Dr. Evans is AWESOME. Many belly rubs.

Julia B: I can't recommend this practice enough for the great experience we've had with the vets, the techs, and the administrative staff. I have a lot of anxiety about taking my pup to the vet because he is highly reactive to dogs and people. The staff here has always been patient and understanding, and help to calm his (and my) nerves. They don't make us feel like a burden which we have definitely felt at other practices in the past. We see Dr. Teich who is awesome at making us feel comfortable and I trust his opinions and treatments. I think he really enjoys treating dogs like mine who have quirks and may be considered difficult. We have also seen Dr. Evans about a number of issues and she has been amazing at helping us work on diabetes complications and is very responsive to my concerns. My pup has fallen in love with some of the vet techs, namely Devon who has put in so much time and attention to make my dog comfortable that he is actually excited to see her whenever she is working and she even dogsits him sometimes. That doesn't happen with him! If you have a dog with issues like mine, she is an awesome tech who I trust with my dog.

Malinda Harrell: Really fantastic experience - Dr. Evans solved the problem with my dog that my previous vet missed, and I'm so grateful. Everyone is very communicative and it feels like they all genuinely care about your animal. I'm so happy to have found them.

Lesley Turner: I've taken my elderly dog to District Veterinary Hospital twice for ongoing health issues and was really impressed and touched by the kindness of everyone I interacted with. My dog has ongoing health issues (pancreatitis) and I really appreciate the option of urgent care appointments as an alternative to using an emergency center where the wait to be seen can be in the hours. I will definitely be back for routine appointments as well!

Alethea Swift: [EDITED 6/27] This practice was recommended to me by a friend when I moved back to DC. I made an initial appointment so that my dog Arlo would be considered a patient, and I loved the practice at that appointment -- the vet was very knowledgeable and helpful, and the staff was lovely. I've since been back with my cat and had a similar experience. I recently had a very concerning interaction with staff at the front desk. Long story short, when I expressed concern that my dog might have an urgent and potentially deadly condition, she scheduled me for an appointment four days away and told me there was no reason to worry -- all without consulting a vet or vet tech. Because I knew enough to raise questions, I soon received a call back telling me that there was indeed cause for concern and I should take my dog to the emergency vet ASAP. I found that interaction alarming, but was heartened by the clinic's response. I emailed the front desk to make them aware of the interaction, and within hours they had removed that employee and taken steps to make sure that kind of miscommunication never happens again. It's very clear they care about animals and their safety, and that went a long way toward restoring trust.

Alexandra Champion: Our pets have been patients of District Vets for years and we are so happy with the care our dogs have received there. It had been a few years since we lost our last dog and since we had been into the office. (Dr. Teich and Dr. Evans were amazing through that very difficult time). We recently adopted a 2 year old pointer and brought him in for his first check up. We were so pleased to find that the practice is as awesome as ever. Dr. Evans, Chantelle, and the entire team were so sweet and thorough throughout our pup’s appointment, patiently showed us how to administer ear medication (Chantelle works magic), promptly returned test results, and even reached out a few days later to check in to see how our pup was doing. It is extremely evident that everyone at the practice is not only very knowledgeable, but also truly cares about their patients. We are so grateful for everything they do!

District Veterinary Hospital Brookland: what do users think?

Olga F: I come here a lot and the staff and the doctors are really nice and take good care of my cat. Where they can improve is their organizational skills. I sometimes come in and no one notifies the vet techs that I’ve arrived after I check in. Sometimes no one responds to my emails. Sometimes multiple people respond to my same email. Other than that I am very happy.

HM Bush: They are probably one of the better vet offices in DC. I use to see Dr. Walker with my first dog (my dog passed away some years ago) and my experience was amazing. I now have a dog and cats and no Dr. Walker. I will say the prices seem to have gone up a little and service down a little. There seem to be more services/costs added on, to the point where I’ve spent an extra $100 - $200 on who knows. I hate to complain about prices because their service is still better than other offices that cost the same/more and the vets are nice. Front desk staff are always great! I’ve visited so many other vet offices (due to having an elderly dog with issues) in DC with my first dog, and this is the only place I’ve been happy with.

dani ro: They are simply the best. They are friendly and pet lovers with amazing follow up an spirit to help. We are moving from DC to Hong Kong (which has one of the worlds most strict rules for pets) and they helped us during the whole process.. from buying a microchip they don’t manage (ordering one just for us) to hundreds of certificates. Can’t thank enough y the whole team. Highly recommend them

Samantha Mara: Dr. Tripp, his vet tech, and the front desk staff were all wonderful, helpful, and answered all my questions as a nervous dog mom. Contact with the office prior to the appointment was also easy and straightforward. Would recommend to all my pet parent friends!

Anna Elizabeth: I used to love this location. Dr. Dan talked to my dog more than he talked to me and I was so happy about that. The last two times I’ve gone they make it really challenging to get meds from anywhere else. Their prices for meds are 10x what’s available on the market, so I’m sure they make a huge profit. If you don’t buy the Rx from them they are VERY reluctant to approve it anywhere else, which is really unethical in my opinion. And it ultimately harms the animals as we can’t all afford the $10/pill prices they charge.
Response: Hi - Can you send me a quick note through the front desk email? I'd like to see where the hiccups occurred with you. Phone confirmations to pharmacies, especially several big chain pharmacies, have given us serious problems with the pharmacists filling prescriptions wrong! We do like to use written prescriptions to help prevent this problem. We really try to not make it difficult. Drop me a note and let's discus and we can see how we can make it easier for you. dt,dvm

Gregg Moreland: District Veterinary has been with me, first with my aging shipoo several years ago when I moved to DC, and with my Shih Tzu puppy now. They helped with end of life activies and new puppy wellness (during a pandemic). I recommend District Veterinary Hospital to everyone who asks.

Colin Bill: Love this vet and highly recommend! Anastasia has been so kind and patient with me and my husky 🦊. Thanks Anastasia! 💖

Denise Jones: Jiggy, my dog had to be euthanized yesterday. He loved going there. He was very ill and treated like a king. I love how they made his last day beautiful. My thanks for all they do!

Delaney Ross: I've been taking my dogs to District Vet for two years, and they have 100% earned their five-star status. They have a practice full of friendly, no-nonsense vets who have always given our two dogs (who have had a variety of issues, from recurring bacterial infections to inexplicable allergies) the best care. They are not alarmist but are very practical and do what needs to be done. All of the vets have been wonderful, but Dr. Hassell has left a particular impression on our family for his wealth of knowledge and willingness to go into detail for me. I've also never felt like I'm asking too many questions (which I definitely always am). They usually have appointments available fairly quickly, especially with the Eastern Market practice now open too, so you should never need to go to the emergency vet. The front-office staff is also very helpful, which is the first time I've ever experienced that at a vet. For example, I just called to get my younger dog's rabies certificate, and it was in my email inbox before I even hung up the phone after a 10-second call. I recommend District Vet to all my friends whenever they get pets or are looking to switch. I've had a number of bad experiences with other DC vets and not a single one with District Vet. They really are the best.

Inga A: The staff will go above and beyond to make things right for your furry friends! Dr. Jacobson is amazing!

CityPaws Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Katie Morton: I recently adopted a dog and have been going to CityPaws since August 2021. When I first adopted him, he was very anxious and unsure of himself. During our first visit, Dr. Knight was so patient, calm, and gentle with him. It was important to her that we make his first vet visit a positive experience. Dr. Knight has great bedside manners and always takes the time to carefully explain any procedures, side effects, and recommendations. I love how she works with my dog and her warm/sunny personality. I've also had very wonderful experiences with the vet techs who are friendly and caring. I always feel like my dog is in good hands at CityPaws.
Response: Katie, Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We are here when you need us. Best, CityPaws

Yoni Buckman: We moved to DC in July 2021 and went to CityPaws because it was the most convenient to where I live. It was such a mistake coming here and I stuck it out for too long. I finally changed vets and have been so much happier elsewhere. Once I started talking about my experience to other dog owners, so many people came out of the woodwork to tell me they had terrible experiences too and changed vets. I'm only writing a review now because I wish someone had given me a heads up, and advised me to switch as soon as I noticed my dog was getting uniquely anxious going to CityPaws, and that his anxiety was escalating with every visit. Scheduling--from our first visit to our last in April 2022--was atrocious. Lost appointments, mixed up appointments, calls that were made to me without prior knowledge of my previous conversations or experiences with them... it was so frustrating. There are a few shining stars on staff, but for the most part, their staff doesn't seem to know how to handle dogs. My dog was getting increasingly anxious for his visits (in my first 4 years having him in another city, he rarely had vet anxiety and those moments were mild, but moving to DC and going to City Paws Uptown...), things escalated quickly, and we've now reached the point where I need to take him to a behaviorist to undue the damage from repeated terrible experiences here. I think my breaking point was when they told me after-the-fact that they had put a muzzle and e-collar on him, which he had never done before. I had a final call with one of the vets after I left detailed emails about how frustrated I was with my dog's care. The vet was very nice, but I didn't trust bringing him back for more. To their credit, they included my emails in his history of care documents to transfer over to the new vet's office we now go to, so they can see the full picture.

Rodrigo Clark-Turrent: Dr. Knight and her team at CityPaws, as usual since we started using the clinic for our dogs’ health since 2014, goes above and beyond to take care of our girls. We couldn’t be happier, nor would we trust the health of our beloved girl to anyone else!

Nina Dsa: This was my first time visiting an animal clinic in DC. I had a really good experience. Everyone was very friendly and warm and as soon as they saw me waiting outside in the cold with my cat, they took him inside and tried to set up a heater for me outside. They were pretty good in terms of Covid practices and I felt very comfortable. They also handled my cat really well, gave him his shots and check-up, and were very affectionate towards him. All in all, they put my mind at ease and were very helpful.
Response: Thank you for the wonderful review.

Cassandra Spencer: Set an appointment, called to let them know I would be a few minutes late (not great, I know). Was told if I arrived within the 10 minute grace period, they would see me. This turned out to be incorrect; they refused to see me even though I did in fact arrive within 10 minutes. I told them I had called on the way to clarify that they would see me, this is why I called. But they went back on their word regardless. I also was frustrated that when I made this appointment, I requested extra time to discuss issues with my senior dog. I was more than happy to pay extra if that means receiving attentive care. They had only scheduled me for a 30 minute routine check up, it turns out. So I will be looking elsewhere for specialized, attentive care. I have emailed this vet before with no response, and it seems like there is zero desire to work in a more specialized manner. This vet is great if you just need a routine appointment for any pet, and don't want a more personal relationship and individualized care.
Response: Hello Cassandra, We are sorry to read of your review. Would you mind giving me a call when you can. Best, Stephanie

Dominic Puller: Visited years ago and had a bad experience with customer service and them not being upfront with billing. After already paying for my visit and all tests I was prompted to pay for additional tests that I was initially told were included in my cat's health checkup. I was then quoted nearly $900 for a dental procedure for my cat. I decided that I had enough of my experience with them and shopped around. I was able to get the same procedure done for 1/3 of what they quoted me.

LKM: Vet's are great, it's just unfortunate that the gatekeepers to vets aka staff are not great. Rude, unhelpful. Literally like pulling teeth to schedule an appointment. I called to make an appt for annual check up - voicemail says to email directly for quicker and more efficient scheduling. Staff responded to my email (apparently they weren't too busy to immediately respond to my email) and told me to call them to make an appointment. I email the vets with my general questions and they respond same day. If the doctors are able to respond in a timely manner I find it hard to believe that the staffers don't have time to respond to client emails. See other reviews below - I have had exactly the same experience as those individuals every time. Again, unfortunate because the vets are good but the lack of customer service and professionalism with the front staffers just caused the loss of another client.
Response: Hello LMK, If you could send us a private message with your name and contact information we would love to learn more about your experience.

Ritha Khemani: I went to 3513 City Paws for info . I was going to be looking after my son’s dog for a few weeks , and they were close to where I lived. I asked whether there were always vets there on the premises. . If there was an emergency , I asked could I drive over to them for some help during her working hours . Before a vet who was right there could answer, a lady at the desk interrupted brusquely and said NO. They were not that kind of a service and they would just ask me to go to a hospital . She mentioned something in Georgetown. I said I was so ignorant about dogs and would they not be able to help for simple emergencies like if the dog swallowed something and was kinda choking ? This lady was so rude ( she told me her name was Brygj) snd said they would just send me to the hospital . They were “a clinic” and not a hospital . I was too taken aback by her rudeness to even ask why they are called City Paws Hospital , in thst case. Could you the owners of this rude place tell me whether this is your policy and if so , why do you mislead people by calling yourself a hospital and not a dog salon ?- since according to her you only do things like cutting toenails and the like ? This incident occurred on June 14 around 3pm . Thanks

Denise W: Bery good care for my cats and wonderful care with cat who had odd symptoms that ended up requiring surgert. They suggested alternatives first before considering surgery.

Marlene Church: This vet office has poor service. never on time with appts, when you call no one answers during business hours and overbooked with time slotsI will not use them but whose another vet to care for your pet

Capitol Hill Animal Clinic: what do users think?

Jonathan Nicholson: Great experience. Professional staff clearly explained what I needed to do/bring for my cat's visit. The pre-visit form is online and simple and visit fee reasonable. Exam was on time and Dr. Murphy unhurriedly explained the possible diagnoses and potential outlooks. Follow up phone call for test results was similarly clear. All in all, very pleasant experience.

Cassandra Johnson: The vet here is great, and the staff have always been helpful. I completely trust them with my dog. The only negative is that like a lot of other DC vets, it's not always easy to get an appointment and can take several weeks before they have availability.

Andrew Fink: Place was quaint and staff was personable, but not transparent with prices (if they ask you to bring in your pets stool, it's $60 for them to run it). The real issue for me was being told by the vet to go to cvs for cat medicine, paying $70 for 14 pills, then checking online for it and finding 30 pills for $10 from ChewyRx. This cat medicine is also for FHV which is basically the most common cat disease, so not sure why the vet didn't have any or didn't know to recommend we go online for a fair price but some delay or cvs for people pharm insane prices but fast turnaround. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume the vet recommended cvs for the speed since they care about my cat getting better ASAP, but I still think they should mention the price disparity. I don't mind paying whatever price needs paying for my pet's health, but I do mind paying a lot more for no reason that can easily be avoided... 3/5 - just be ready to pay a lot more than you were told/expecting

Austin Graff: When we got a puppy, our friends recommended this vet in a rowhouse along Pennsylvania Avenue. They were right- we love it! The staff are friendly, efficient and our dog loves them!

Regina Jones: I wish I could give some stars but I can't because, I have been trying to get my cat an appointment. Since she's a new patient they only give Tuesday and Thursdays appointment. Which makes it very inconvenient because of my job.

Jennifer: Friendly staff, reasonable prices and wait times are not long. They seem to very carefully schedule appointments to minimze the number of possible pet interactions in the waiting area or hall. Procedures and diagnoses are throughly explained in plain language and estimates for recommended follow-up care are provided. Definitely recommend!

Zeus 93: I love this place! I have been taking my 9 month old puppy here since he was 2 months. They are great with my dog knowing exactly who he is without them calling for us. My dog always comes back happy and so that makes me happy. Great place 👌

Tyrisa Salmond: Been coming here for a few years now. Quality care at an affordable rate.

Deborah witherspoon: Been going here for about 6 years now and I love the care that my dogs get. This year, one dog stopped walking suddenly and Dr. Murphy knew exactly what was wrong right away and made sure we went to the proper place for him to get surgery. Not to mention that the front desk ladies are amazing as well.
Response: It means so much to us to have your trust in taking care of your dogs all these years, Deborah -- thank you. We'll be here to give your pups the best care we can, and we'll be here anytime you need. -Dr. Murphy, Business Owner

Brett McReynolds: My dog has been a patient at this clinic for almost 4 years. She is a boxer mix and has seizures so she needs medication. She had one so bad that it almost killed her when she was young- so the medication is very important. The reason for this one star review is that the clinic said they would call in her medication last week- but they didn't and now they are closed (on a Wednesday). We can't get a hold of anyone and she has no more pills. I might have only given a two star review if this was the first time this has happened, but it is not. In fact, I cannot think of time where the vet called in the prescription as they were supposed to, in a timely manner. It always results with us having to tell them to call it in. My dog is in need of medication and this clinic has finally proven itself to be beyond negligent. They have now entered the realm of dangerous due to their negligence. I will be immediately switching clinics- and hope I do not have to take my dog to the emergency vet because of this situation. UPDATE: They called in the prescription and our dog will have medication. I'll increase a star- but we'll still be leaving due to the aforementioned situations.

Tranquility Vets: what do users think?

Peter Halverson: We recently made the painful decision to put down our dear cat Fluffy, who was 17 years old. He was the oldest pet we have ever had, but the last couple of years he had been in slow decline with arthritis and digestive problems, and over last few months he was showing signs of increased discomfort. We were no longer comfortable with the thought of traveling and leaving him in the care of others. We knew it was a matter of time before he would be in bad shape. This was so hard. But knowing Tranquility Vets could provide Fluffy's last moments on this earth to transition in a peaceful, painless way in the comfort of our home was truly a blessing. Dr. Chan was so calming, caring, and reassuring, and we are so grateful to her and her group for providing this option during such a challenging time.

Alexandra Kroger: I don't think I could ever find the right words to express the extent of my gratitude to Tranquility Vets and Dr. Maia Chan for what they did for my family. Whatever positive sense you get of this organization from my review, augment that by at least a hundred times to understand what I actually feel for them. It's never a happy time to lose a much-loved member of your family. But I think that hearing from a veterinary doctor that your cat only has a few days of life left, and it's just a few days before Christmas when they tell you, it's going to hit a little harder (whatever your religion might be, since the "holiday season" is essentially a secular phenomenon in America). And when your partner tests positive for COVID on the morning that you booked the in-home euthanasia service, so you have to cancel, and that (other service) doesn't give you any other suggestions, an already difficult situation becomes a nightmare. All of this is to say, when I called Tranquility Vets in desperation, the sympathy I received from the telephone operators, and Dr. Chan's willingness to accommodate our situation- just really above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. We were able to make the appointment for the very next day, and Dr. Chan performed the service outside of our apartment building. We all wore masks and kept safe distances, and Dr. Chan provided specific instructions so that we were able to ensure that our Krissy passed peacefully. Dr. Chan's compassion and support were so very helpful to us in those moments- even now I'm tearing up at the memory of the experience. After the service was done, we received Krissy's ashes by USPS delivery almost exactly two weeks later, held in a small wooden box. In a way that felt like the conclusion to the process, even as we are still grieving her absence from our lives. If you ever have to make a similar decision, I hope you will be as fortunate as my family was, with the kindness and care of Tranquility Vets and Dr. Chan.

Lucy Ballentine: I called Tranquility on what was probably the worst day of my life in recent memory. My beautiful George had reached her end and we needed to offer her some comfort. To be honest, my husband and I needed comfort too - this was an awful day and the idea of taking her to a visiting vet in a busy vets office was too much to deal with. Not to mention, the stress it would have added to George. From the first phone call - me hysterically in tears - to when Dr. Chan arrived to our house, our grief was validated, understood, and respected. George was addressed lovingly and she was cared for in the same way I would have done myself. Thank you. The card we received 2 weeks later letting us know a tree was planted in George’s honor was emotional and reminded me all over that we made an excellent choice in calling Tranquility Vets.

Kailynn Dougherty: I can't say enough good things about Tranquility Vets and Dr. Maia Chan. Our little boy was 12 and with every year that passed his mobility and quality of life was diminishing. We were so unsure if it was the right time. We waited for the moment he would look at us and tell us he is ready to go but no matter what, through heart issues, Cushing's disease, and in ability to walk, that time never came. We wanted to keep him longer but when looking back at his life we knew that with the inability to eat on his own, walk or play that is was time for him. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. But from start to finish, we were met with sympathy, grace, and patience from Tranquility Vets and Dr. Maia Chan. Bailey was scared of vets so we knew when the time came we would do an in house service. From the moment she walked in the door, Dr. Chan was respectful of his space and our situation. She sat on the floor with us, walked us through what the process would be like, gave us grieving pamphlets and gave us our time to spend with him. When she gave him the last injection, she walked away and waited in the kitchen for over 30 minutes to give us our last moments with him. She then wrapped him in a blanket, snuggled him up good (because she said "it was cold outside") and she let us give him one more kiss on the head because she so gently put him in the car and drove away. She was with us for over 3 hours and not once did we feel rushed. When we saw him at peace we knew we made the right decision and he wasn't in pain anymore. If you are looking for an amazing staff and someone who will make this transition as comfortable as possible, I highly recommend Tranquility Vets and Dr. Maia Chan. Thank you all for helping my little man in his time of need.

Raananna Barksdale: This was an incredibly difficult time for our family, losing one of our much-beloved boys. Dr. Rathjens was calm, patient, compassionate, and as tender with our darling as if he were her own. The pet cremation and memorialization organization that she partners with (if needed) was likewise impeccable. I really appreciated everything--including the short-notice availability--that took the guesswork and "what do we do next?" out of it, and just let us be with him as he passed peacefully into the sunset.

Chad Levinson: We had to say goodbye to our old friend the day after Christmas. Despite being a holiday weekend, Tranquility Vets responded quickly and a professionally. Dr. Maia was a kind, reassuring presence. She guided us through the process calmly, clearly, and compassionately. Though our hearts remain broken, we are grateful to her and the entire team at Tranquility.

rhiannon swanson: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, ResponsivenessDr. Maia came to our home, during a really tough time, to euthanize our beloved family dog. She was just so kind and patient. She explained the process so that we knew what to expect. She was very gentle with us and the dog and we couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful and thoughtful process. Thank you Dr. Maia!

Jill Kirby: Dr. Clare was very understanding and patient with us as we said goodbye to our little Mia. She was even patient with our 2 year-old granddaughter as she was showing the doctor her stuffed bunny. We will always have pets and I'll use Dr. Clare's services again if needed.

Jennifer Mitchell: As excruciating as it is to say goodbye, the service offered by Tranquility Vets was exceptional. From the initial call, I felt kindness and empathy throughout a very difficult time. Thank you to the entire team for helping to send my girl off in peace and love.
Response: Hi Jennifer, Thank you so much for the kind words about our service. These times are never easy and it was honor to be of service. Your review lets us know we’re on the right track. Thank you.

Jess Kwerel: Having to say goodbye to my beloved dog Buford was the hardest decision I've ever had to make. His cancer quickly metastasized and I knew it was time to say goodbye in a matter of days. Working with Dr. Maia was the absolutely the best decision I made in providing my sweet boy a peaceful, loving, comfortable goodbye. Dr. Maia is warm, professional, gentle, and highly skilled. This service is such a gift and I can't recommend them enough. Knowing I was able to say goodbye to my beloved Buford in my home and in my arms has helped me tremendously in processing my grief and not having any regrets.

Banfield Pet Hospital: what do users think?

Saints Finders: Thank you for taking care of saint nails today. The front desk pet nurses were very nice and friendly. I told them our situation and they were able to help Saint and get him back to being normal. This was our first time walking in on a Saturday and couldn’t have had a nicer experience. Thank you and god bless you! Woof woof.
Response: We're so glad that you had a great experience when you brought Saint in! Thanks for sharing your positive experience. We look forward to seeing you both again soon.

Ashley Rattanawan: If I could give less than one star I would. I would say most of the reviews on here are very accurate. Save yourself and your animals the headache and go elsewhere. It’s difficult to get an appointment in a timely manner, I will say the front desk has worked with us before to find an appointment earlier so I do acknowledge that they attempt but generally appointments are a month or so out. My dog is on the optimum wellness plan for a little over half a year at this point and I’m not sure it’s worth it at least at this location. It’s almost comical because the banfield responses to reviews on here tell wellness plan folks to use the Vetchat to talk to a vet but I’ve actually just had them send me links to websites I already googled and they don’t really provide any info that you can’t already find on the internet already. R/askvet somehow is a better option than Vetchat My dog has been diagnosed with an disease that is ongoing and has gone through 4 different vets in the last 6 months alone. There is a total lack of cohesion and communication both between the staff at this location and with the client. Every time I have to go to Banfield for a follow up there is always a different vet due to the fact that all of the previous vets have left. When we get a new vet they have no idea what is going on with her. There has been a lot of confusion between what the previous vets have recommended and then whatever the new vet wants to try, usually being something we (or the previous vets) have already considered. While I understand there is turnover at any business, I am appalled at the lack of communication between staff members and turnover of pet cases between vets while they are leaving. There seems to be NO communication between the staff at the front of house staff and the vet staff and even between the vet staff themselves. I find it ridiculous that the leaving vet staff does not leave the new vets any notes about ongoing pet patients and that every single time our new vet wants to run the same tests and says conflicting things. I’ve had 2 vets tell me the same thing regarding a medicine and price for a test only to have the current vet tell me something completely different. I pay for the Optimal Wellness plan to have regular visits at Banfield and a vet that knows what is going on or even just READS the previous notes for a pet visit so they know what's happening in that pet's visit if they are not the primary/new vet. I really hope that this Banfield can improve because the 3/4 vets we have had have been great once they know what’s happening. I would love to hear about how Banfield can remediate this issue.
Response: We're truly sorry to read about these challenges that you've had with us, Ashley. We'd like to follow up with you about your experience. Please send us an email to BanfieldCares@banfield.com.

Ricardo Rodriguez: Very professional and helpful personal, I received a cop of a wanted certificate in no time and without any problem. Thanks Banfield and keep up with the good work.
Response: We appreciate your kind words and positive feedback, Ricardo! We're glad you were able to get your pet's certificate quickly.

Yasaman Keshavarz: We had such a great experience with the vets here who were compassionate and supportive with our dogs diagnosis. They've been responsive by email when we had questions. I would definitely recommend!

Abby Nydam: We have been clients of Banfield since 2019 and it has been a mixed bag. Last year we were impressed with the COVID protocols and aside from one cancellation because the vet was sick, we had no problems. We found the vets and staff to be communicative and thorough. Until today. After weeks of waiting for a routine check-up appointment, we arrived at our appointment time and called the number to alert the staff that we had arrived. We called 15 times, no one answered and the answering service said, "we are currently closed." Finally someone came out and told me that the phones were in fact, working -- I called on speaker in front of them to prove that the phones were not working. Finally, after waiting for 20 minutes in the heat, someone came out and to take my dog and said that it would be several hours (? - for a check-up) until pick-up because they were short-staffed. There was no way I was leaving my dog there -- if the check-in process did not inspire confidence -- it was doubtful the remaining experience would. Given that similar experiences have been on-going for several months based on the reviews here -- it seems that Banfield has made no effort to correct them. We will take our business elsewhere.
Response: Hi Abby - We apologize for your frustrations with the wait time and check-in process during your pet's visit with us. Please reach out to our Client Advocate Team at BanfieldCares@banfield.com, at your convenience, so that we can address your specific concerns.

Gabriel Mata: Great and attentive staff. Although, sometimes they may get backed up because of all the appointments. I highly recommend that if you have to get a prescription, price match with chewy.com. They will price match, just send them the price via email. Make sure to make your appointments way in advance. This is a busy location.

Allison Vega: I get they’re understaffed but every time I’ve called since June 2020 it’s been a month long wait time for an appointment and been made clear to me my pet isn’t a priority even after charging me hundreds of dollars for an issue that still hasn’t been resolved. Often times they don’t pick up the phone at all. Will be switching to a different vet after today.
Response: We're sorry to hear about the challenges you've had making an appointment, Allison. If you're an Optimum Wellness Plan member, don't forget you can also access Vet Chat and talk to a vet 24/7 from the Banfield website or app. We'll share your concerns about scheduling and availability with the team and help them find a scheduling solution. If you would like to discuss this with your local hospital's leadership team, please email us at BanfieldCares@banfield.com with your account details and the best way for us to reach you.

Ryan Verhulst: Doctors are fine but service is appalling. They not figured out how to adapt COVID protocols 1.5 years after the start of the pandemic. I had to wait 15 minutes outside with my cat who doesn’t go outside and was terrified of all the noises to have to spend another 15 minutes on hold when I tired to get him picked up. In the mean time two other clients arrived called and got assisted immediately. At best I was offered a very non sincere apology. They provide good care but desperately need to figure out their service and how to manage simple check in and check
Response: Hi Ryan - Thank you for sharing this with us. We are sorry to hear about your frustrations with us and that you haven’t had a good experience with this visit. May we have an opportunity to address your concerns? Please reach out to our Client Advocate Team at BanfieldCares@banfield.com at your convenience so we can try to do so. Thank you.

Conor Gallagher: I've been to the Banfield in SW and was always treated as a valued customer, and my cats were always well-cared for. The same cannot be said of this location. At this point we've visited twice. The first time we came, we were not informed of their "dropoff only" policy, and it was raining. We and our cats were left outside in the rain for 10 minutes before they came and brought them in. They tried to make up for that with a complimentary nail trim, which was nice so we thought we'd give them another chance. The second time, we dropped them off for a teeth cleaning today. We were told they could not eat 12 hours before; that'd we'd receive a call from the vet in the afternoon informing us of their progress; and that we could expect to pick them up around 3-4pm. 5 o'clock rolled around, and we'd heard nothing all day. We called the office and were told the cats were still under treatment and that we could expect to hear from them before the office closed at 6. 6 o'clock rolled around and we heard nothing. We called back and were told that one of the cats was still under care. At this point, knowing my cats likely hadn't been fed all day, I asked what exactly the vet had been doing with my cats given we had dropped them off almost 12 hours prior to this call. The representative said that Dr. Joseph Ianniello - the vet overseeing the procedures - had likely shifted our cats' appointments around depending on the different walk-ins and drop-offs of the day. At no point were we ever updated on this, and at no point did the doctor seem to care that two hungry cats might deserve to be treated at their allotted times so they wouldn't have to go 24 hours without food unnecessarily. When it's all boiled down, the simple fact was that expectations were set and not met: we were told our cats had a morning appointment (their procedure didn't start until at least 5pm); we were told we'd get a call from the vet (he skipped out and never called us before ending his shift. Thanks Dr. Ianniello!!); we were told we'd pick our cats up between 3-4pm (we just got home at 7pm). If you can't meet expectations that YOU set, don't set them. Period. We will be calling tomorrow (since none of the doctors were available to speak with us) to cancel our wellness plan with them. "Wellness" implies they care for your pets, when it's clear from this recent experience that your pet is nothing but a number and a fat wad of cash to them.

Claudia Giles: We are new patients at the Adams Morgan location and absolutely loved our vet. Our puppy ended up having an upset stomach and the Adam’s Morgan location was unable to help me due to our vet being at another Banfield Location in DC that day. After being bounced around, I finally got the email of the vet and she prescribed my puppy medicine to the Adam’s Morgan location. After calling them they were not nice, and told me that I would have to drive to Navy Yard to pick up the prescription due to the Vet being there for the day. I live 1 block away from the Adam’s Morgan location, and having a sick puppy is already stressful. Why should I have to go across town to a location I’ve never been to to pick up medicine for my sick puppy. Terrible customer service.

Arlington Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Robert Meltzer: Great vets and office!! Love the new space with the old sign. Vets are very thoughtful and get back to me by phone with answers to my questions or email me info. Office staff is very nice. Been with them for almost 4 years and the only place I take my cat! Great place!

Anna Anderson: Always have a wonderful experience with the staff. They really care for my cat. They are quick to respond to questions and the vet talks to you personally. It is nice to have such great people to count on!

Kristal Ricks: I love taking my fur babies to Arlington Animal Hospital! Kerry and the team are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive. They provide efficient service and are super caring .

Sarah Nichols: I have 2 cats and a dog that go there. The vets always take the time to answer my questions and give me solid recommendations on food/medicine/etc. I know my fur kids are in good hands! Update: Most of the vets we see here have been wonderful, but we saw Dr. B. Jones today instead and I was unhappy with how roughly she handled my dog during his yearly exam and claiming he was aggressive - when it was the rough handling making him distressed. He's never had that problem before, but now I'm worried it WILL be a problem since he was so stressed out. I'd prefer a vet that focuses on fear-free visits, even if it takes longer and costs more

Mike E: Arlington Animal Hospital has been our place to go for our doggie needs. The staff is great and they really take great care of our furry family members. I couldn’t ask for more.

Andrew M: My dog has been a patient here for about five years and we've only had very good experiences. Easy to schedule, great staff, compassionate vets. The vets even call days after appointments or if they know the pet has had a surgery to see how they are doing. I can't imagine a better veterinarian hospital.

Adam Colborn: My wife and I love this vet. We've always had a great experience. We've also taken our cats to two VCA locations in the area as well and felt that the service from VCA Southpaws and VCA Alexandria was rushed and not thorough (not to mention more expensive). The doctors at Arlington Animal Hospital have always taken the time to listen to us and walk us through their examination of our cats. We feel like we get their full attention when we take our pets in, which we have not felt with other vets in the area. While our experiences with all of the doctors there have been excellent, we particularly appreciate Dr. Jones. He's very compassionate and always helps us understand what is going on with our cats' health and how to best take care of them. We really appreciate all of the staff at Arlington Animal Hospital and the quality of care they give our cats.

Rocketboy 1313: Exceptionally helpful with finding medications, giving some good and direct advice, and making sure pets are treated well. My dog does not lament visiting this vet.

Shannon Jennings: I've been taking my chihuahua here for around five years and have only good things to say! We have had good experiences with every doctor and staff member we've interacted with. The doctors respond quickly to messages, questions, and med refills. Communication and appointments are always easy. My dog has behavioral issues and is always treated with patience and kindness 😊 like I mentioned at the beginning, only good things to say!

Amber Lopez: Arlington Animal Hospital is wonderful. Our dog is difficult with vets and requires a plan of action and sedatives before even the simplest of appointments. Dr. Jones works with me personally every time to make sure a plan is in place, that we are comfortable with the plan, and he is happy to explain the reasoning behind each of his decisions. The administrative staff is also very kind and patient, and always professional. We're glad we found AAH and Dr Jones, and are grateful for the quality of care we receive each time we're there.

Shirlington Animal Hospital: what do users think?

Melissa Balazinski: This vet has been amazing to my two dogs since moving here 2 yrs ago. I have an older Boston who’s recently had some health issues and they have been so helpful and accommodating in trying to figure it out. When my French bulldog had a tumor they were able to remove it right away. They are always very communicative and great at explaining step by step what should be done in caring for my pets. They are a genuine caring team and for that I’m very appreciative.

Britta D: Dr. Cullen is as good as all the other reviews say he is. He takes time to go over all the details thoughtfully and compassionately. Very professional and caring about our cats. Staff is always professional and helpful.

Kara Mailman: I've been taking my dog Poppy to Shirlington Animal Hospital since 2017 and have had nothing but good experiences. The staff is responsive, kind, and clearly cares about their patients. Especially important to me, they have taken the pandemic very seriously and done everything they can to keep staff and clients safe while continuing to provide absolutely stellar care. I truly have nothing bad to say about Shirlington Animal Hospital and am eternally grateful for the care they've shown me and Poppy the last 5 years!!

Emily Kayser: I’ve been taking both our cats and dogs to Shirlington for about five years. They’ve been absolutely wonderful with all of them. They've always taken the time to get to know the animals, to make them (and us) feel comfortable, and to answer questions and talk about the best options for us and our family. Last year, they diagnosed an aggressive cancer in our dog and helped us through the process of understanding our follow-up care options. When our dog passed several months later, they sent a lovely condolence card. The pandemic has been such a difficult time for the industry, but both before and since COVID, they’ve treated every one of our furry family members like their own. I can’t say enough good things about them.

Sedef M. Buyukataman: I had been bringing my dogs here for two years, since I moved into the area. The staff is professional, the doctors seemed nice, but they’re not gonna be there for you when you need the most. I had taken my 10-year-old dog to the groomers next door when I picked him up the groomer inform me but my dog had been much more listless than normal and that she struggled to actually brush him down fully. I took him outside and he peed bright red. Terrified I rushed into the vet, my vet, next door for help. It was 5:34 pm on a Friday evening, their hours are listed til 6pm. When I walked in I was confronted by three young technicians I tried to explain what was happening. The first question was are you a patient here, it struck me as odd since I was coming in with an animal in need, but I responded yes and then I had just been in two weeks earlier for his annual check up. They told me they were closed and there was nothing they could do. They shoved a piece of paper with five or six emergency hospitals listed and told me to get out. No advice on what to do, no concern as to my animal and his general state, just get out. They even refused to try and contact a doctor, they didn’t touch my dog they just sat at their desks with a cold stare that let me know that all they wanted to do was go out for the night, I was bothering them and my dog could die for all they cared. Oh and they didn’t have any time free to see him the next morning, I was on my own to figure it out. I finally found an emergency clinic who could take us. My dear angel crossed the bridge that evening. I called the next day to leave a message to speak to his doctor, they informed me she wouldn’t be in until Wednesday and they’d pass the message along then but couldn’t guarantee she’d call. I was later contacted by an office manager to weakly apologize for what she heard happened Friday - i assume she was worried when she saw my message for the doctor and I told her that no amount of I’m sorry could change what happened, I wanted to speak to the doctor about my dogs last physical not waste time with her poor excuses. I informed her that we would be finding another vet after getting such careless and heartless and uncaring behavior from her team. I have already gotten an appt with another vet for my remaining dog. I would never trust these callous heartless quacks with an animal again. If you’re not going to be there on someone’s worst day then what is the point. I deeply regret trusting them with my beloved animals lives, I won’t make that mistake again. They’re awful. I can’t say that enough. Maybe they should consider hiring staff that actually like animals. Might be a great place to start. Monsters.

Nazanin Malek: All the staff were professional and doctors spending really much time for checking and explaining each pet’s to their owners. Everywhere was so clean and my dog was a little nervous at first but they treated her very well and made her relax. 100% recommend it. #animalhospital #pet

Maria Gueriera: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, ValueDr. Snelgrove and her staff are terrific in every way. They helped my family so much through a very unpleasant experience with our newly adopted dog. Not only were they very professional, they openly expressed their human side of kindness, compassion and genuine concern and care. So very grateful for this practice.

Janeen Porche: I have been coming to this vet a little over 5 years. Dr Snelgrove has been there to help 2 of my dogs crossover and I will always be grateful for her and her compassion. She has since left the practice and we miss her dearly. I started seeing Dr Cullen in January and I complained then about his lack of compassion. Last Tuesday Maci has an appointment, when I picked her up she couldn't even stand. I didn't think much of it, they told me that they gave her some pain meds. 2 days later we were at the emergency vet. On Friday I get the courtesy call asking how she was doing after her appointment, I informed them they Maci was at the emergency vet. I was told they would let the vet know. I guess when she told the vet my dog was at the emergency vet he didn't think that was enough for him to reach out and check on her. I will no longer taking my dogs there.

Kristina G: Can’t say enough good things about Dr Cullen and his team! We are a military family- moving every 3 years makes finding a vet we love at each place not so easy. We hit a jackpot here. Dr Cullen is down to earth- answers all your questions/ goes over pros & cons and doesn’t make you feel rushed out of the door or he’s too busy for you. Our dog had bloodwork done and Dr Cullen called and went over all the results. The staff was able to cut my dogs nails with no issues (extremely rare) and I could hear them cheering for him and saying nice things to him all the way in the lobby. Great place to bring your pet!

Nav: Took my cat in for vaccines and a general checkup, the office and Dr. Cullen were very communicative and answered any questions or concerns I had with ease. Will definitely keep coming back as long as I'm still living in the area.

Rock Creek Home Veterinary Care: what do users think?

Rachel Narrow: I am SO grateful to have found Dr. Tanouye! She takes her time, is thoughtful and knowledgeable, incredibly kind and empathetic, and has always gone above and beyond for my dogs, Scout and Rogue. She is exactly what you want in a doctor--and I often find myself telling others that I wish I could find a human doctor as good as she is. She is knowledgeable and skilled, but also a problem solver and seeks answers to difficult medical presentations that may not have a clear course of action. When Scout had a complicated illness, she thoroughly researched the current treatment options, reached out to other vets in her network, and consulted with multiple surgeons to make sure we chose the best treatment. When later we sadly had to say goodbye to Scout (for an unrelated reason), she was there to help guide me through the decision, spoke to the ER vets, and ultimately came to my house (even though it was the very beginning of COVID and, given how little we know, it was a safety risk for her), and did the procedure in our home so I didn't have to say goodbye to my best four legged friend in the parking lot of the big ER hospital. These are incredible acts of kindness and dedication, and I will always be grateful for what she did for us. My other dog, Rogue, continues to love her visits with Dr. Tanouye and is always happy to see her. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Tanouye--if she has room and you're fortunate enough to get into her practice, you and your pet will be very well cared for!

Jonathan Blumenthal: My dogs and I have been a client of Dr. Tanouye for over a decade. She is very careful and provides loving medical care based on sound scientific evidence. I have no doubt she cares for her clients like her own pets. There is currently a lot of confusion about the cause of diet-related dilated cardiomyopathy. Dr. Tanouye is taking a cautious approach to preventing this disease among her clients and I appreciate this because I care more about the health of my dog than loyalty toward a type of dog food.

Max Lang: Rick Creek Home Veterinary Care is so completely full genuine tenderness and caring intent that when they visit to take care of our pets it feels like a visit from family. Also, when the time comes to lay our companions to rest, we are comforted to know that we can do so at home; around familiar faces, places, and smells. World class services, world class humans.

Kirsten Eyles: Dr Tanouye has been our vet for 8 years and I cannot speak more highly of her! We have two dogs and two cats. Having a vet who comes to our home is not a time saver and a real comfort to our very nervous hound and cats who don’t like travel. She treats them with such love and care and even has done a blood draw in the yard where the nervous dog in question was most comfortable. Her clinical expertise has seen us through a variety of ailments including cancer treatment for my previous 18 year old cat. When it came time to put the cat to sleep Dr. Tanouye came to our home and facilitated the most loving, compassionate, beautiful exit for him, something for which I will always be grateful. She is an exceptional vet and human being!

Erin Ruggiero: Rock creek promotes some of the most unhealthy food brands imaginable. Although I appreciate their concern of the preliminary studies done on hot topics like dilated cardiomyopathy, they disallow for healthy discussion on just that... a preliminary study. If one's opinion is that of searching for more information on these topics and having an open mind to the possibilities of alternatives, do not utilize rock creek for your sourcing as they have one opinion only and it is that of single-minded regurgitation of broad statistics and no facts.
Response: Google reviews are meant to reflect actual client experiences. We have no record of this person ever having been a client of Rock Creek Home Vet.

Laurie Prober: Dr Tanouye is so compassionate! She truly cares about all of her patients and clients! Thank you, Dr Tanouye, for all that you do.

Dalynne Sanborn: Dr. Malachi was awesome! I no longer need to keep searching for a veterinarian!!

Georgetown Veterinary Hospital: what do users think?

Jake Gould: Dr. Lee Morgan has cared for my mother and father in-law's 2 labs now I believe for 20 years. He is such an amazingly caring veterinarian that he has periodically answered questions for me, even though I live an hour away. While I don't think any doctor has time to do that for everyone, because I've my inlaw's he has been gracious enough to do that. I find his medical advice spot on and if I lived within 20 minutes of the good doctor, there is no one else I'd ever see. My in-laws love Dr. Morgan and I can tell just speaking with him, that he is at the top of the field in knowledge and expertise.
Response: Thanks so much! I'm very touched with your kind words.

Cassia Denton: Dr. Morgan is the absolute best veterinarian in the city. You will not find a kinder, more loving, more competent professional in the game, and his staff go above and beyond to make your pet feel like their own. I have referred multiple people to this office and every single one now has a vet for life!
Response: Thank you so much! I am honored to be Turkeys vet!

Jamal Peter Le Blanc: Georgetown Veterinary Hospital is a caring, empathetic hospital for pets and the owners who love them. Dr. Lee Morgan is an accomplished veterinarian who has also cared for dogs during multiple Iditarod runs. (A book of his experiences there is scheduled for release soon.) The hospital's staff and physicians take seriously their responsibility to your pet's health.

Vanessa Hurley: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, ValueWe recently brought our rescue dog, Lady, for a check-up and were delighted with the kind, professional and caring staff at Georgetown Veterinary Hospital. The doctors and staff here take time to explain every aspect of their treatment suggestions and we left feeling confident that Lady is in the best of hands!

Heather W.: Dr. Morgan is amazing and takes such good care of our sweet Weimaraner. Our dog has needed two surgeries - one dog bite and one cut paw from shrapnel in the woods. We are so happy with the level of care and results. There is almost no scar. Dr. Morgan is our routine vet now as well. I also find Dr. Morgan’s wife who works the reception desk to be extremely nice and attentive.

Tyler Lawrence: Georgetown Veterinary Hospital is a terrific vet with a convenient location. While we've unfortunately moved too far away to continue to use the vet for our car-skeptical cats, we'd go back to GVH in a heartbeat, if possible. The staff is extremely responsive and clearly very caring about their animal patients. I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for a new vet!!

Schuyler Malachi: Georgetown Vet Hospital has the most heart-felt, loving, caring, compassionate staff I've ever met. They try so hard to please everyone and to keep everyone's pets healthy and happy. Especially during this time of covid, when the world is a little crazy, they are working hard and doing a wonderful job keeping us together. I am grateful for them and the little piece of sanity that they provide.

Jenny Sorrento: Dr. Morgan is the best. I found his practice in 2007 when I was at my wit's end with the area options for veterinary care. He's taken excellent care of my two pups, he's honest and very cautious with testing and medication. He likes to try the path of least resistance - always, and I appreciate that in a vet. Where it's not life threatening, he's outlined options and allowed me to choose which is wonderful. We've just realized that he is such an unbelievably caring and trustworthy doctor that our dogs won't ever see another vet again. Thankful to have found him!

alicia tim swenson obrien: We are absolutely thrilled that we made the switch to Dr. Morgan! We have been taking our two dogs and cat to a large chain vet clinic for the past few years. They never know what is going on with our pets, and we have shelled out a lot of money to have problems we do not feel get fixed. What we really wanted for our pets was what we grew up with in our small Midwestern towns - the warmth of a vet who knows your family/pets and really seems to care. I was not sure this would be easy to find and instead went for proximity and scheduled a second opinion with Dr. Morgan. I was immediately impressed by the warm feeling of the clinic (something you don't get at a big box vet chain). We did not have to wait and everyone we met was friendly, including the resident dog! Dr. Morgan paid attention to me and our dogs and answered my questions in a kind way. He explained what he would like to do and the reasons, gave me a fair price quote, and was able to schedule my dog for surgery right away. He reassured me about the things pet owners worry about with surgery and we dropped our dog off for surgery knowing he would be a priority to the clinic all day (as would all the others there - they aren't trying to see as many pets as possible in one day). What really impressed me was Dr. Morgan's offer after surgery to give personal care to our dog. He knew we had a toddler and a newborn at home and that our dog would be having a rough night after surgery. He acted in our dogs best interest and offered to take care of him overnight and control his pain. How incredible! Really, I am still just in awe that we found someone to take such good care of our pet, and of us! I very highly recommend Dr. Morgan. We will be bringing the whole pet family to him!

Lauren Roy: Dr Lee Morgan and staff are incredibly kind and don’t over prescribe treatments or procedures. We have taken our pets here for 10 years and can not recommend them enough for care of Dogs, older and puppies. Dr. Morgan works outside the office as a non profit vet for Police Dogs and the Alaskan Iditarod. Amazing Veterinarian and person.
