E C Wallman: I called on Saturday and spoke with a representative to place my "Birthday Balloons" order. The Balloons were pretty expensive...I had ordered balloons on Tuesday for delivery; these I was picking up. When I got there, I found that the young lady had placed my order incorrectly...hence why it was so expensive. While disappointed, because I thought I was pretty clear about what I wanted, I brought the balloons to my office. Today, I return to the office to find ALL of the latex balloons deflated, laying on the chair! It has been just 24 hours since I purchased these balloons--I would expect that these would stay inflated for at least a couple to few days. I am very disappointed...as these are a gift for someone who had a terrible "actual" birthday and I was trying to brighten his spirits--I don't think deflated balloons will do the trick! He is coming to my office on Tuesday to pick up these sad little balloons. I guess I will have our receptionist cut off the latex balloons and HOPEFULLY the Mylar balloons will still be inflated. Not what I would expect from Caruso.

Ron Moses: For those with loved ones interred at Arlington, Caruso’s is a veteran owned florist with a very excellent record and quality, much better than any other in the area, and can do a regular or scheduled service to Arlington. I first found Caruso’s a year ago when we needed a florist quickly on a short notice to produce a number of bouquets for my father, MgySgt/SgtMaj Herbert Moses, who passed away Nov 5th 2020. Not only did they do an exemplary job, they did so with care and speed. It was such a great job, that I have a standing order of flowers to be delivered every two weeks to my father at Arlington. I was originally concerned that Arlington groundskeepers would remove the flowers after a few days and was super surprised to discover the flowers are still there after a week (see below). I’m not affiliated with Caruso, they don’t pay me anything, and they didn’t ask me to write a review. I just read the last guy’s review complaining about Latex balloons not lasting a weekend, and anyone with kiddos knows that they don’t last but a couple days esp when it’s cold out. Not fair of a review for a truly great florist (and not a balloon shop). Thank you so much everyone at Caruso’s for honoring my father with so much care.

Geawna Hernandez: I ordered flowers for my grandma and her friend while they were on vacation in Washing DC. It was also harder on me since I've never been to the area let alone know anything about florist in the area. They made it SO EASY! Everything from placing the order, to delivery... was great! It showed up right on time and looked exactly like the picture I wanted. I would definitely recommend this place to any local or even a tourist like me.

Sherry Swerdlow: I needed flowers in a hurry and this place didn’t disappoint! I ordered on a Friday night late, and they were delivered at noon on Saturday. They were even more beautiful than the photos on website. The recipient called me twice, once to thank me and say how gorgeous they were, and again the next day to say they were the most beautiful flowers she’s ever received!!

Ellen McCrea: Update with further info: Order Info: Order # 66522 Received confirmation email from Caruso Florist and Flowers The quick delivery and quality of the flowers were excellent. However I specifically ordered the Blue Sapphire Deluxe because of the blue and white flowers advertised as they were for a Johns Hopkins University graduate. Unfortunately there were NO blue flowers in the arrangement at all. I am unable to attend my daughter's graduation next week because I was suddenly called to AZ to care for my terminally ill mother. I'm sad that I can't be there to celebrate my daughter's hard work and to have the flowers be wrong was so disappointing.

Melanie Guinan: My mom is visiting me from Germany and my uncle ordered flowers to be sent for her birthday yesterday. The order was for 9 am and the flowers came at 6:45 pm. Good that we had not left for dinner yet as they were just left at our front door. Nobody called, texted or knocked on the door to let us know. The bouquet looked droopy and most of the roses had areas where they started to dry out (see photo). It seemed that the flowers were either from the day before or in the delivery van all day. Not fresh looking at all! I feel bad for my uncle and the money he spent on this. I left a message last night as soon as the flowers came, but so far nobody has called me back and I don’t expect to hear from them… They already got paid and from the other reviews I see on here now, they don’t seem to care!
c: Really disappointing quality - do not recommend. My partner got my Valentines' flowers direct from the store, which is a short walk from us. The flowers were in a sorry state even when purchased; on the day of purchase two of the roses were already looking dried out, which even he noted apologetically, and a couple of smaller flowers were wilted too. Two days later, most of the roses, a few other flowers and most of the green leafy material had dried out, and the flowers were starting to smell rotten, even after changing the water. Three days out (today) the couple of remaining roses are looking very sad, and I don't think any of these flowers are going to last through the weekend. I would have expected better quality from a dedicated florist; even flowers from TJs or Safeway will reliably last a week. Very disappointed.
Kenneth Ha: Update: FTD was wonderful and gave me a full refund without hassle. That does not change my opinion about 14th street flowers, in fact it only makes me more suspicious of 14th street flower’s business. From reading other reviews it seems 14th street flowers uses 3rd party orders to dump bad/old product. Absolute garbage. Ordered thru FTD and unfortunately these guys picked up the order. They sent flowers that were well past their prime and the ballon was deflated. Their driver apparently can’t get to Alexandria, VA in a timely manner. That said, I have no idea why a DC florist was used for an Alexandria delivery, regardless the driver contacted the recipient and ruined the surprise because she was “rerouted.” FYI these were ordered two days before delivery. The business did manage to get the order to the address, but it was after the recipient left from their full eight hour day, and later then the ETA giving in the I’m running behind text. Anyhow, my girlfriend connected the florist on my behalf because of how dissatisfied she was with the service that cost me well over $100. I had no idea she contacted them till just now. She thought Flowers on 14th would of contacted me to make it right. They have yet to contact me and from reading other reviews it seems they’ll blame FTD, so now I will now try to recoup with FTD and get them dropped as a partner. A little more info, this is the first time I have used FTD. In the past, I always used 1-800-flowers, and after this experience I’ll never FTD again. If you’d like your joyous, heartfelt gesture treated with no care while helping out a flower shop, that doesn’t care about customer service, cut costs by using subpar flowers go ahead and use this terrible shop.
Dianne Chapman: Worst flowers ever. Blown flowers, delivery 7:20 at night. I ordered on February 25. They had plenty of time to oder fresh flowers. I have worked as a florist for years; this is disgusting. These are old flowers. I paid 200 dollars for this and can't tell you how disappointed I am. These came from Flowers on Fourteenth Street. Boo to you and your old flowers and 7:20 delivery ProFlowers these are not up to your standards.i received some for birthday on Feb 25th and they were beautiful.I hate tocomplain but this is not worth the time and effort that this florist had the nerve to send.
Renelle Mitchell: If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered an arrangement for a friends birthday off of their website. Later on in the day, I didn't hear anything from them so I called. When I finally got a hold of someone they said the flowers won't be arriving because they can't deliver them. So instead of someone calling to notify me, I got charged for $70 for non existing. Currently still fighting to get my refund back because they "don't know" who took the order.

Anne Grelier: My mother ordered flowers from oversees for my birthday. Flowers on 14th delivered the bunch of flowers on the front steps of my building, without calling me or texting me, in direct sunlight, on a hot day (95 degrees). I found the flowers when I happened to go out. I put some fresh cold water in the vase right away, yet, half of the flowers were done the next day. I attempted to contact flowers on 14th via messenger and their website and still haven't received any response (it was over a week ago). Terrible service all together.
Andrea Briones: Great Customer Service was provided for my order. Asked for morning delivery, and while they usually don’t deliver in the morning they made it happen. Flowers looked great.
Ronald Schouten: I’ve been placing orders through ProFlowers that then get filled by different florists. Those that have been filled by Flowers On Fourteenth have been the best in terms of quality of the flowers and size of the arrangements.
Kristen Malick-Hatta: I ordered a flower arrangement for Mother's Day on Teleflora. I'd never used them before but thought the flower arrangements they advertised on their site looked gorgeous. However what I received was far from that. Below I have posted a picture of what I received vs. what the Teleflora site advertised. Many issues. A lot of the leaves are chewed up looking the arrangement was very sparsely filled. The lilies were dull. A lot of the flowers it said should be in the arrangement were not there (such as the carnations and eucalyptus). Not even the vase is the same one on the site. And I paid for premium while mine looks like a standard or deluxe. I called the florists last night (Flowers on Fourteenth) and complained to them about the quality. They admitted they didn't have the lilies or a lot of the other flowers which shocked me that they wouldn't substitute something for what they were missing since people pay quite a bit for flower arrangements. The person I spoke with was very nice and said they were sorry and would resend one today which I received but still the quality of their flowers is very low. I would not use them again and would also not use Teleflora again. I will go back to using proflowers which always sends exceptional arrangements.

Jacob Rosenbacher: Hurts me to put this business on blast — it’s local and in a difficult industry. Moreover, this specific business has overcome generification. However, I had the worst flower shop experience of my life here. I waited to speak to a sales associate and I was mocked when I gave my description of the flowers. Not once, not twice, but three times. The colors I was looking for “earthy tones” are “exactly what all flowers” look like… fair. However, I was pretty understanding but it was said very harshly and not humorously. It was nothing but pretentious especially from this preppy older white dude in a cardigan. I then tried to describe it again, “something very natural looking and duller tones”. I was unceremoniously met with “all flowers are natural”… thanks dude. Suffice to say it was rude, 100 dollars for a smaller bouquet, and the selection was terrible compared to all other flower shops I’ve visited. Btw to the guy who reads this, I’ve walked into a dozen other flower shops… no one else thinks this is a poor description.

Joanna Obuzor: I purchased flowers for my friend's birthday. She never received the flowers. Lee's said they were delivered; she works from home and nothing came that day. When I called to let them know, no refund was offered. I'm out over $100 and my friend didn't get the gift.
Daria Kirilenko: Nice people and pretty flowers. But the peonies were $16 a stem. Still decided to treat myself and got a dozen. Flowers sadly lasted only 2 and a half days and that’s with me cutting the stems and changing the water. Just sad…

John Fleming: I ordered flowers and candy early the day prior to my wife's birthday. I called late the day of delivery because it didn't appear the gift would be delivered and only got a VM. It finally arrived at 5:30 PM the day of her birthday as we were leaving for dinner. The candy was not delivered. I emailed them and asked for the candy to be delivered or at least refund my money. No response! After a month, still no response and no refund, even though I have been a customer for years. Taking my business elsewhere.

Sophia Forte: Sent wrong bouquet. Also sent a bouquet that was smaller than the size I ordered. Some of the flowers were wilted but not too bad. The woman on the phone was rude and did not to rectify it so I just returned it and got my money back.

Literally right next to the metro! If you have trouble finding it, know that its inside the building with gold's gym that's under construction. The lady was incredibly nice, we chatted the whole time, and she was incredibly helpful. I admitted I knew nothing about flowers, so she just asked me for price range and occasion, and made me a glorious, huge one. Great price, amazing service, very convinient location. Highly recommend

Purple Luva: My beau ordered a birthday cake flower arrangement for my mother’s 70th Born Day. Unbeknownst to him, he didn’t know the delivery time was until 7 p.m. to residences. That’s asinine! One’s birthday is almost over. He was under the auspice that she would get it much earlier. The driver calls me after 7…we were at dinner, so I asked if he could he leave it. He obliges. It was a pulchritudinous arrangement…extremely eclectic! I called the next day because there were no instructions about maintenance attached. I began to articulate why I was calling, and the rude associate said, “he is about to get fired!” I definitely don’t want that. He wasn’t supposed to leave the arrangement. I said ma’am, “I asked him to!” She hastily said, “then what are you complaining about?” I said, “excuse me…complaining?” I will never order from here again! Henry Sookram: Super cute and shop staff were super helpful in helping build a custom bouquet. Since stems are charged by the each, prices can be pretty steep compared to bouquets from other local flower shops/cut stems and bouquets at local farmer's markets. Quality is overall fantastic though, and it's great to support a small business.

I can't rave enough about the flowers, helpful staff, and amazing speed of service and care taken to make sure all the details of an order are correct. I ordered an arrangement from this shop that absolutely blew the recipient away! The staff was helpful, friendly, and completely understanding when I came to them with a short notice delivery only an hour and half before they closed. Not only were the flowers delivered within a couple hours of the order being placed, but as mentioned, the flowers were stunning and beautiful. The staff is knowledgeable and you don't have to be afraid to let them choose an arrangement as it is yet another thing this shop excels at. I wish I could give 6 stars. If you even need a bouquet, or a whole arrangement then look no further than Little Shop of Flowers.

Mike Jobbins: UPDATED. Just dropped in, and they have a new café menu, run by an Ethiopian/Japanese couple. Ethiopian coffee & homemade sushi join sandwiches and smoothies. Donna MacAlester: Mother's Day Bust- My husband ordered flowers for Mother's Day. They were delivered on Friday and half were dead by Sunday. So disappointing. Asked for the florist special, paid extra, tipped well upfront- looks like it was the left overs. I know Mother's Day can mean that a florist is overwhelmed, but this was an $85 arrangement that could have been $20 from trader joe's. After we reached out, they were rude in text and didn't just take responsibility for a bad arrangement made of half wilted flowers. Even after sending photos they requested. I believe 100% in local florists, but this place isn't it. Find another place to go that is thoughtful about all costumers. Please see below the response from the florist for further indication of how they treat and think of their customers. I guess if you can't afford a $350 arrangement, then they aren't interested in your business.
Response: There are always two sides to every story. Donna MacAlester seemed impossible to please. And she was beyond rude to us, without manners. Her husband spent $85 for a Designer’s Choice arrangement (which literally states “Let Us Do Our Thing) but in the Special Instructions advised us that his wife needed peonies, ranunculus. This is not possible for the budget but we made it work using the alternative of English roses option he also included. The arrangement was beautiful when it left our studio and we delivered it quickly to their nearby home. Donna then emailed us very late at night with her initial complaint. She was upset the flowers were not peonies, ranunculus. We responded via email quickly and were as clear as possible with why her budget could not include peonies, ranunculus, etc. Those are premium flowers during Mother’s Day week and she didn’t have the budget. However, her husband also included an English rose option. We achieved a look we were proud of with this English rose option, along with garden spray roses, and stock. We attached pictures of how the arrangement looked when it left our studio minutes before delivering to her nearby home. We requested a picture from her to show how it looked now in her home. That is our policy and common in the industry. We didn’t hear back from Donna for 2 days. That is outside of our normal 24 hour return window, but we were still offering a replacement arrangement. Then out of the blue, Donna just became very inappropriate towards us. We were not combative in any way and offered to give her a free replacement arrangement. But Donna insisted on demeaning us, texting us relentlessly. The texts stated “you think you are fancy but you are not” and “you obviously aren’t in touch any more.” She went on to claim she would’ve done a better job if she got cheap flowers from Trader Joe’s and designed the arrangement herself. We’re a well established florist in DC. We’ve done countless high profile events. We just did the White House Correspondents’ ABC event last week and have a busy event schedule this week… along with many “person to person” arrangement orders for repeat customers. So when someone like Donna says she could do a better job buying cheap Trader Joe’s flowers and designing herself, we encourage her to do that next time. She and her husband are blocked and not allowed to order from us in the future. We went into this business to create beauty and make people happy. We don’t tolerate when people are obnoxious and demeaning. It’s not acceptable.
Elaine Tenner: Found them online. But checked out their work on Facebook and instagram. I realized I had viewed their work at the Ritz Carlton in DC. So, I checked to make sure they would deliver to my nephew and his wife, then used the online service and the arrangement looked like exactly what I ordered!
Aneta Tomdio: Absolutely gorgeous arrangement and worth the price. Volanni did an excellent job with La Dolce Vita bouquet, and the delivery communication was A+!

Christopher Young: I called this florist on Thursday evening (12-16-21), after getting the funeral service church address for the following morning! I’m offering a three (3) star review because they did in fact deliver the flowers and our loved one received them. The real reason for the three stars is based on the final floral arrangement. I’ll post pictures and let you all decide if this was a $130 arrangement!! I think this was purchased at a local Harris Tetter and dropped off at the church, LOL. At the end of the day, I’m guessing it was the thought…haha. Whew! I’ve sent flowers for less and the design, the attention to detail was stunning (of course, at the hands of another florist)!!! Won’t call this florist again. Based on my conversation with the elder who answered, I don’t think they read these reviews and it’s obvious they don’t care!! I’m just saying…but where else could I have vented? I don’t even reside in the DC METRO area, but I needed flowers sent at the last minute. Ok, blessings to all on sending flowers.

S L: This is THE WORSE FLOWER SHOP EVER with HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My grandmother paid to have a flower arrangement done and delivered on March 1, 2022... the day before my grandfather's funeral to ensure it arrived on time. It DID NOT. On the day of (March 2, 2022) we got there early and there was no flower arrangement. My grandmother called to inquire and they were very rude to her from the start. Yelling saying ma'am it was delivered. She had them on speaker phone. I took the phone to handle it privately because people were starting to arrive and my grandmother was getting upset. Rightfully so, I mean she was at her husband's funeral and the lady had a nasty attitude. Absolutely NO conpassion. They couldn't get in touch with the delivery guy and did not have a clue of his whereabouts. The guy finally delivered the arrangement AFTER the service had started and people were in line. It was a nice arrangement.. the bow was a little wrinkled. SAVE YOURSELF the trouble and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Deliveries always made when I requested within the time frame. Flowers are fresh and will last a while. The aroma from a rose arrangement will fill a banquet hall for days.
LaVanda Gaskins: I love to support black businesses but this company right here is horrible. Why they been in business for so long is absurd. I ordered flowers and paid in full for a funeral. First of all they delivered them in the middle of the service and not only that I ordered two different sets and only one was delivered. After the funeral when I called to let them know they was late and that they didn’t send my other set of flowers the owner in which lies to me and told me she was the Manager informed me there were no refunds! How when I didn’t receive what I paid for. After informing the owner that I would dispute it with my bank if she didn’t refund my card! Please take yur business elsewhere because when you already dealing with a death you don’t wanna have to deal with people and businesses like this.

Miro Hristov: I ordered roses for v-Day and I specifically requested them to be nice, yet this is what I got. The six pieces of completely untrimmed roses look like they were just cut from the garden, the whole thing was not presentable at all! Wrapped in brown paper without the slightest of hints it is for Valentine's. If she was to tell me it's just roses without any extra stuff I wouldn't buy but she specifically said they will make them look nice. Since they are flowers shop I trusted that they know exactly what that means. Most underwhelming purchase for $60 I've made. Borderline scam.

Tiffany LeNoir: HORRENDOUS customer service. The gentleman who is always there is incredibly rude and unfriendly. My fiance and I live in the area so its easy to pop over to purchase their incredibly over priced buds. It's always a gamble with how long the flowers will last. Sometimes it's 6 days. The last time I purchased they started dying that night! My fiance placed an order of 12 peonies for my birthday - I went to pick them up. When I told him what I was there for he rolled his eyes and made it seem like a chore to hand me the flowers that WERE ALREADY PAID FOR! They had 12 stems of already bloomed peonies sitting on the counter in brown paper. Who knows how long they were sitting out of water. When I asked if it was possible to receive unopened buds he scoffed and made it seem like I knew nothing about the flower and proceeded to pull out the tiniest buds he could find. I let him know that I purchase flowers quite regularly, and have been a repeat customer of theirs. I also mentioned that I was unsure why there always seems to be a problem when I come to this store and he said "not sure what to tell you that's not my problem." Cringeworthy and disappointing. For $15 per stem for a peony you'd think you could get better service and flowers.

Your partner placed an order for pick-up which we did have ready by the time you arrived. When asked if we had any closed peonies, I did inform you that I do have ones that are very closed that may not open, and ones that are opening like the ones you received. I feel as if I was as accommodating as possible, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough for you. I would also like to point out that the cost of the peonies are $6.00 per stem with our Friday 50% discount., as they are now $12.00 for the time being. The very nice and patient guy on the phone answered a bunch of questions about what flowers would be best for the occasion, assured me they'd be delivered same day, and my sig other called about an hour later gushing over these beautiful flowers. Will use again.

They should have told me before today so I could make other arrangements. They must have had a plan to close for renovations before today, right?Very unprofessional, unreliable, sketchy and disappointing. Find another florist if you want to ensure your recipient will actually receive a flower delivery.

A woman greeted me and seemed nice. I asked if they had bouquets for walk-ins and all they had were tulips. I purchased the tulips. Then I looked around for myself and there were flowers by the window. I asked what they were called, and she scoffed. I asked if I could buy them and she looked at me like "but they're just fillers". I told her I still wanted them, and she had this attitude about it. They have flowers that they deliver, but not many options for walk-ins. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed.

Mary Vergenes: They did a great job. Not only were flowers lovely, but they also followed up with me when some lilies arrived tightly closed so we could fin a substitution. And since I ordered for a funeral I could not attend, they sent me a photo. Very pleased with the service AND the arrangement,
Amanda Shelby: This was the worst flower/customer experience, I've ever had. I ordered my twin sister, the Principle of Kramer Middle School, an arrangement to celebrate her winning a major award for her school. It was suppose to be a surprise and the school was less than a few miles from the shop. Not only were the flowers not delivered. They asked my sister to come and pick up her own flowers! Which completely defeats the purpose of ordering a flower DELIVERY service. The surprise and loving gesture was completely ruined because this company did not want to travel to South East DC. I wonder if the demographic being predominantly brown and black had anything to do with it?
Angelina Burney: Ordered flowers and when they arrived they looked nothing like the photo on the website, they weren't even the same colors. In addition, the leaves were brown and the filler flowers looked old and squashed. The lilies were broken and what was supposed to be a red white and blue patriotic arrangement, was nothing but while and a few purple filler flowers. For the expensive $$$ cost, the quality was extremely low. They looked like flowers from an Aldi or grocery store.
cailey carter: This is the worst customer service and they refuse to deliver after accepting the job! Didn’t deliver the flowers the day of! And then abruptly canceled the following day AFTER they had already NOT delivered the flowers on the agreed date! Don’t waste your money! At least they gave a refund! Very disappointed!

Kirsten Sherk: Ultra Violet was recommended to me by a friend as a talented and well priced florist. They did not disappoint! I gave them a budget and told them to use their discretion to make a colorful arrangement for a colleague. She was so delighted with her bouquet. It really brightens up her room.
Sarah Andrews: The BEST place to gift a bouquet from. My order was completed quickly and the arrangement actually looked full and beautiful unlike most florists. Highly recommend as a last minute gift if you’re just stumped as to what to get. Who doesn’t love fresh flowers?

The staff has been so kind and let me pick out whatever and mix and match what I want. The pricing is incredibly fair (other florists in the area have increased prices an absurd amount) and their selection is like nothing else! They have the best seasonal colors and keep with the trends. Other florists in the area look like what you see on 1800 florists and can’t compare to their product.

Pam Clark: I called late in the morning to have a birthday bouquet delivered to my daughter the same day. The lady on the phone was kind and super helpful; I asked them to just create a colorful bouquet for me. She made sure the bouquet was created in time to be on the delivery truck. She texted me a picture of the bouquet, then let me know the time it was delivered. See the picture from my daughter with the following comment: "It is a major wow; absolutely one of the most stunning bouquets I've seen. So colorful!"
Deidre Charles: I ordered a boutonniere for my daughter's prom date from another floral establishment. It was not even close to what was pictured on the website and the flower looked like it wouldn't make it through the first dance. I frantically looked online and found Petals Ribbons & Beyond. I called to see if they could accommodate my need for a boutonniere. It was Friday afternoon two hours before my daughter's date planned to arrive and 30 minutes before Petals closed. I spoke with Ms. Sara and she was amazing. She told me to just come right over so she could help. I arrived to meet her and her assistant along with a couple of her cheerleaders😉. Ms. Sara saved the day with a simple yet elegant single white rose boutonniere with a ribbon to match my daughter's dress. I had a chance to chat with her and learn that we both attended Spelman College. It was truly devine intervention 💙

She is even sending a picture of the arrangement to me once it is finished. Wow. Sometimes blessings come in unexpected ways.
