carolyn jackson: My son and I love, love, love this store. We are here every week doing a fish tank water sample test. The manager Donnell in the fish dept. Is very nice, helpful. knowledgeable, and professional. He and the staff are always ready to help you in any way. It a fun store to shop.

Nathan Lapin: It was easy to make an appointment with Collins hospital for animals. They followed COVID-19 procedures ensuring safety for both themselves and us, as well as our pet. They came out and got our pet and called us when they were almost done. Then they had us watching how they trim our pets nails, which is really helpful going forward. Watching them with our pet made us feel like he was in good hands. They were gentle and kind with our pet, which put us at ease. This is definitely a prime place to take an animal to the veterinarian! I highly recommend.

Marie Rose: Very helpful store. When I originally bought my fish on Wednesday June 22nd I ran into some issues caused by me being a first time fish mom. And I lost 3 of my Cardinal Tetras, which the owner offered to replace for free. The owner was very helpful and informative on how to fix stuff for the future which was very helpful. The following day June 23rd I came in to replace the couple fish I lost and get some new ones. The manager on duty Michael was very helpful and explained more in depth of how to acclimate my fish properly. Definitely will be coming back. Very happy I was able to support a small buisness that actually cares about there fish.

Aiden Bundy: Went here today looking for a snake and was immediately welcomed into the store. They let us hold the snakes we were interested in and were very knowledgeable when it came to snakes. It’s a very professional workplace and everyone there was extremely friendly. Perfect place to find an exotic pet. We left the store with our first ever exotic pet and couldn’t be more pleased. I will definitely be making more visits to this store.

Preston Burns: We stopped by here to look. My daughter really wants a bird. We’re undecided about the commitment. As we looked around at the birds we were impressed with the number and types of birds that they had. The store is small, which I have found is typical of independent pet stores, but the love and attention that they give their birds makes all of the difference. The young birds are still hand fed with a syringe. They wait until they are well trained and socialized before selling them. They also wait to clip their wings until they have fully developed. You can put down a deposit on a bird and then wait to take possession until the bird is ready. You can also board your bird there. Kency was really terrific. She brought out her bird, Snowball, a super loving cockatoo, and let us handle him. We also held a young cockatiel and a love bird. She was so patient and it was obvious that she loves the birds. She made my daughter super happy which was such a blessing. This is a small store, family owned and operated. On our second visit we met the owner, Ed. The customer service is intimate and they are caring people. We love the store and will be back

Kyla Burkey: Brandon was extremely knowledgeable and helped me with the process of getting a new bird! He let me hold one I was interested in at the store and I gave him my deposit for the love bird that will be ready in a few weeks when they no longer need hand fed. The love birds are just tiny things now (see picture) but his shop is definitely worth the drive from Pennsylvania. So many variations and unique animals like Axolotl’s, reptiles, ferrets, saltwater aquatics, and so much more! Him and his staff are great and all of his animals look happy and healthy :) I almost left with more than one bird because they all had such sweet personalities due to the care and attention they’ve been given.

maria temple: I live about 35 minutes away from this store, and I will never go anywhere else for my small animal needs again. They have an excellent selection of toys, treats, hides, food, and cage accessories. Not only that, but their prices are so reasonable for a local pet store. The employee working with the small animals (Alex?) was very knowledgeable about general rat care and involved in the upbringing of the fancy rats in the store. I just purchased a pair of male rats (drex/rex), and I will be back for another pair once the dumbos are old enough to be adopted. I appreciated that their double rex variety of rats still have eyelashes, whiskers, etc., which indicates to me they responsibly breed. I also appreciated the associate asking about the cage I own and checking my ID before showing me the rats. It shows me that they care about the homes these animals go to. The pair of boys I purchased are well socialized and very friendly. They’re taken very well to their new environment- they are so full of life and strong! All the rats in their care at this time have healthy coats, are very alert, and are also very curious!! They seem happy to me. I attached some pictures of the ferrets I got while I was there. So cute!!

Tonya Boff: Went here to get bloodworms for my betta fish, I never expected the experience I would have here. It was super clean with no smell that you typically get walking into an aquarium shop (or at least from my experience). Herb (I believe that was his name) was super friendly and helpful. Thanks Herb and team!

Gianpier Flores: M&T exotic does not disappoint! I ordered from them 2 months ago. First time I’ve ever ordered T’s online, and I couldn’t be happier. Richard, from The tarantula collective YouTube channel, recommended this vendor ( it’s up on his website - resources tab) and I’m so glad I got to buy from them, my T’s were greatly package and healthy. Also, Great and affordable prices. I Haven’t lost any of my T’s and actually saw a few molt a couple of days ago. Thank you M&T Exotic, I will definitely be ordering from you soon.

V R: I took my new baby cockatiel there cause I thought she was having intestinal trouble. They did a full bloodwork and stool sample and the best check up I’ve ever had of any animal. They are great vets I would take any of my animals to them. Dr Bailey called me back and gave me a detailed health report down to her wings her feet strength her inside of the mouth down to her feathers. Dr Bailey is highly recommended.

Nino Santana: I have bought so many different types of animals from NJ exotic pets!! From spiders to geckos, bearded dragons, rats, guinea pigs and even the most adorable baby pig. It’s always an amazing experience and the staff is super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly Especially Ben! He’s the man. I’ve been going here for years since the first location and he’s always been my go to guy for any thing my wife or I may need or want. You can call him at any time of the day when you have a question or issue and he will walk you through any thing you may need help with step by step. I would highly recommend anyone taking a trip to NJ exotic pets to ask for Ben and he will guide you in the right direction to finding the perfect animal, enclosure, food or toys etc. He has a vast knowledge of everything to do with almost any animal in the store and he has a true passion for what he does. that always makes the experience better when you know the person helping you will give you the proper tips and care guide to successfully take care of your animal and feel confident doing so. If you need anything invertebrate related be sure to ask for mike. He’s my go to guy for most things spider/invertebrate related. He has great knowledge of anything and everything to do with spiders, roaches, millipedes, mantids etc. he’s even kind enough to let you know when new shipments of certain species you’re looking for comes in if you just leave your number with him or at the desk. This place is truly a blessing to animal lovers they have everything you can think of and if they don’t chances are they may be able to make it happen and order it for you!

Charles E: Very well done event. Vendors were friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Great selection of reptiles, amphibians and other exotic creatures. Great place to bring your kids. Prices were very reasonable. I would like to see more vendors handle their animals more. With some it did seem like it was just business and not about the animals.

Cindy Khademi: This is a great place to buy your birds. I had the best experience when I visited their store. The owner was super nice. He delivered my cage, put it together and helped me with my new African Grey adjust to my new home and cage. The staff were professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the cages, toys and of course the birds. They made me feel good and comfortable with buying my bird. They have a large selection of toys. I will be getting all my birds needs there. Awesome place!!!
