P T: Perfect little studio for shedding on your own. Big rooms are great for bands and there are also solo piano rehearsal rooms as well. All of the rooms are fully equipped with top of the line gear and all of the gear is well maintained. If a problem arises with the house gear, the staff will replace it quickly and efficiently. I witnessed this first hand. As a working drummer of almost 30 years, I love the fact that I do not have to bring any gear aside from my stick bag. You can adjust all of the kits to your specifications so that maximum playability can be obtained. The rooms are soundproofed so well that you can play as loud as you want and make as many mistakes as needed without disrupting other drummers/musicians and bands doing their thing. Each solo practice room comes with a small amp/pa combo for light jamming ,a music stand(for my charts), and finally and most important point of all, the prices cannot be beat. The happy hour special is a life saver. A special place indeed.

JR Franks: 7DC is THE place to be if you’re a musician in the DMV. This space has it all: Ample rehearsal space, lessons with seasoned local musicians, open jam events, Flashband, and now full-on shows with the opening of The Pocket. Miles (the owner) has poured his time and energy into making 7DC one of the most welcoming environments in the local scene. You’re guaranteed to meet lots of really cool people no matter your reason for coming.

John Folstrom: I have been practicing and taking lessons at 7DL for about six months now and I have been incredibly happy with my experience. The quality of lessons is great with teachers who not only know their stuff, but know how to transfer that knowledge to their students in an effective way. The staff is helpful and laid back. The variety of practice spaces is awesome and allows one to practice solo or jam with other musicians. Overall this is a fantastic stop to learn drums, practice drums or jam out.

Dudley's B Sharp Academy: what do users think?

Lisa Jamison: A great learning experience! Being a beginner piano student, the training I received from Mr. Dudley was great especially since I didn’t know my way around the piano. He is very patient and thorough. I definitely would recommend this studio for all your musical ambitions!

fatima khambaty: Mr Dudley is patient and meets you right where you are- even as an adult student . He was able to assess me right away and we jumped right back (after my break of 25 years) into piano Lessons. He understands even though I have no jazz background how to get me to start thinking differently from my classical training. Honestly- he makes learning fun, easy and less daunting ! Thank you !

Lamia Matta: My 5-year old daughter loved taking ukulele classes with Mr. Dudley. After only a few classes, she became very enthusiastic about playing music. The classes also gave her a lot of confidence. Mr. Dudley is super kind and has a very very nice manner. I highly highly recommend the school.

HARVEY Harris: He is an excellent teacher and my 8y/o son has learned so much in a short time. He gets right down to business, and he allows him to advance at his own pace. My son looks forward to piano lessons every week. I would recommend him to anyone; a true christian demeanor on top of it all.

Bruce Britton: Working with Coach Dudley has been an amazing experience, He is very encouraging and I like that he pushes you put of your comfort zone in order for you to grow as a vocalist. I have worked with him and seen improvement as a singer. I definitely would recommend taking up his classes to anyone!

Natasha: Mr Dudley is great! My kiddos (ages 5&3) love taking lessons with him. I especially appreciate his approach in teaching younger kids.

kara taylor: Amazing, amazing, amazing. One lesson and I saw my daughter shine! She is autistic with add and Darryl was so patient with her. I am a thankful and proud mom.

Greta Burrows: Both my kids really like their instructors. They are patient and knowledgeable. My son has been playing piano for over 6 years and my daughter started violin.

Karmen Armitage: My son has learned more piano in eight months of instruction then he did in eighteen months with his prior teacher. He incorporates all of the important aspects of a musical education in his lessons.

Yuriko Puryear: I would recommend her anytime for guitar lessons. My son has learned a lot considering he has only been taking lessons since the end of September.

Dorathy Conner: Not only is he damn good on the guitar, but he is a really good teacher. He knew right away what I am capable of and came up with a lesson plan that is awesome.

East Coast Drums & Practice Spaces: what do users think?

Jeffrey Arevalo: World class drum shop. David was a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to get me what I needed in time for the tour. Highly recommended. Will do more business in the near future.

BVDRUMStreams: David and Laurie/Lori (apologies if I spelled wrong) are wonderful and knowledgeable. If you love drums they are going to love you. They show their love and passion to those who have that spark. They are fair with their pricing and will work with you to get you what you need. I have always believed in shopping and buying local. Places like theirs are becoming harder and harder to find. If you love drums and good people, please give them a shot at your business, you will not be disappointed!

Sherell Martin: The man and woman working at this place that greet you at the door are very pleasant. They treat you well, and give you instruments and accesories for a good price. I never had a bad experience there. I love it! Mr. David is a great guy.

Bone Reaper Full Circle: Very knowledgeable and relaxed compared to most music stores where the goal is to get a sale and get the customer out the door. Not the case here they have everything full scale to meet your budget needs along with musical goals and workshops to make sure you will advance as an artist.

Donna Dugan: Friendly staff, inventory is... the best in the DMV. Need anything from a whole kit, foot pedal, snare to a cowbell (never enough cowbell) they will have it in stock or can get it for you. Wall of cymbals, stands for everything, new and used. Need practice/rehearsal space, they have that also, next door to the shop.

byron Bussey: This establishment is a melting pot of everything any drummer/musician could need, espesially connections. The comradery makes it a hub in the giging community. The practice rooms are awsome very well stocked, and you never know whos listening.

James Greene: There service is great very friendly and knowledgeable about equipment that they sell there.

Russell Lasner: Unbelievable selection of drums, cymbal, anything needed and great prices.

School of Rock: what do users think?

Katie White: School of Rock has been a transformative experience for our son. The week of camp last summer instilled a confidence in him that has been further nurtured by Rock 101 and weekly drum lessons. Rose, Brooks, Dylan, and the whole team help to create a wonderful environment where kids feel comfortable and their passion for music thrives. Thank you.

Karen Lopez: The staff here are lovely. They were very friendly, encouraging and kind. My niece absolutely loved her time here. Watching her get excited about music was amazing. Though she is currently not taking classes anymore, I hope she’ll be able to in the future because watching her here was magic!

Elda Cordone: If you have seen the movie School of Rock with Jack Black, then you know how cool it is for kids to study rock music. This school has been a great investment for my sons in their development, both musically and socially. They have learned so much and have so much fun. They have gained new found discipline through practice, confidence as well as new friends that will last a lifetime. Studies have shown that music education directly correlates with academic success.Since joining in the last two years, my sons (ages 10 and 17) have performed at The Fillmore, at the Fountain in Silver Spring, and many other venues. School of Rock is their second home. Everyone, from the owners to the school director, music teachers, and staff is awesome!

Eric Mendelsohn: The easy going, rock n roll attitude is fun and welcoming. The classes for kids seem great. Though I haven’t been able to get my kids interested, I know of families with several musicians enrolled which I’m sure reinforces the learning and enthusiasm — and demonstrates the lure of SoR.

Nicholas Michalopoulos: Great school with tons of opportunities for kids to get better at music in so many different ways.

School of Rock: what do users think?

A.J. Nowaczyk: My son did a week long camp over the summer. He was seven, and really enjoyed it. They did a concert at Jammin’ Java that was really fun, and impressive at the end. They did Burning Down The House, Electric Funeral, and It’s A Long Way To The Top. It was great seeing him sing, drum, and play guitar. So crazy they put it all together in a week. I’d recommend it at least once, though he’ll probably do it again.

John Yiasemides: Individualized instruction as well as group playing opportunities makes this a terrific program for any child who wants to become a performer, or just a better musician. Small-group settings allows for a band-experience without the individuals getting lost in a big-school program, which gives them more opportunity to grow and express themselves. This program puts it all together: lessons lead to group-playing which leads to performances. Safe, fun environment is created for students of music. Administration here is always more organized than I am, which I am thankful for!

K Cheng: School of Rock in Vienna is terrific. My child loves doing both the weekly classes as well as the camps. Staff is super supportive and teachers are excellent in their skill and also with their children. Highly recommend!

Michael Fazen: This is a wonderful program for children to not only learn awesome music skills but also many life lessons. The group rehearsals and seasonal live performances teach our son the commitment of being part of a team. He has been with School of Rock for almost 3 years, and we enjoy seeing him grow not only as a musician but also as a person. Even during the challenging pandemic times, School of Rock did a great job adjusting to the situation to continue the program without any interruptions. We love this program and will continue it for many years.

Amy Wenger: Couldn’t be more impressed with how much my 7 year old has learned in a year at School of Rock. He LOVES going, the teachers and staff are wonderful, and his guitar playing... so much more than I would have expected at this age! They are also doing a top notch job with safety precautions during the pandemic. So glad to be a part of S of R Vienna:)

Rachna Heizer: This place is AMAZING! The teachers are great - you can tell they truly love music and sharing their love of music to other kids. My son has had several teachers there (he plays three instruments and sings) and every single one is great. They are super patient with kids and great at working with a variety of kids and personalities and really getting the best out of each kid. This place is like a second home to my son and they have gone above and beyond to make him comfortable and successful. On top of that, they are great music teachers that not only teach the kids how to play music but how to be in a band together. It is one of the few programs that works hard to give kids many performance opportunities; recognizing that kids are more likely to learn and stay motivated if they get a chance to perform. My son has done the performance band program and the house band program and loves going to rehearsals, rocking out with his buddies and loves loves loves the performances. It has done a ton for his musical ability AND his confidence. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! The owners are great; really get the kids and are willing to work with everyone. The staff is open and accommodating and you can tell they love what they do. My son is not an athlete but he is a musician and it is great to find a place he truly gets to be a musician and perform just like his soccer playing friends get to have their moment to shine. My children have participated in numerous after school activities and this is by far one of the best things they have done. Teaches teamwork, self confidence, and music!

Leslie Borkenhagen: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, ValueThe staff are amazing with kids - super kind, flexible, and skilled in both music and teaching kids of various abilities and experience levels. We love the community that SOR has created and our son enjoys going and learning with his new group of friends!
