Logan Hardware: what do users think?

Paul Durbin: If you want service and quick check out go to True Value on 17th. Completely different experience with knowledgeable staff ready for you at the door who will help you and then check you out right away. 100% of the true value staff knows their stuff. Here it’s mainly people who will just check you out and don’t know hardware. This place has equally good inventory and later hours, but it’s not a hardware store experience. And for what it’s worth this is an Ace Hardware, which advertises on Fox News, should you want to avoid supporting Fox.

Jim Parrett: Went there to get glass cut and paint matched. l was pleasantly surprised how helpful and courteous the whole staff were. They were able to take care of what I needed so I could finish my project. Thank you!!!

Aja Navat: Friendly staff and large selection of things. It is two floors.

Jacob Goo: So this is super weird but they sell the best cream soda at the counter. I love ace for being small hardware with a little bit of everything. Thx!

John Trissel: Good hardware store! parking may be challenging. They have a good selection for most small projects and gardening needs

Robert Bolen: This store is full of caring people and fantastic tools. On two separate occasions, Jorje has gone above and beyond to help me find the perfect solution. It is wonderful to have a local place where experts provide guidance in a kind, nonjudgmental manner.

True Value On 17th: what do users think?

Martha Wilson: I have been coming here for years. Staff members are very knowledgeable and helpful. It’s quite well stocked, considering it’s a small hardware store. I’m so glad they made it through the Covid closures here in DC. The store is a fixture in our community. I love it!

Katie Ambrose: I honestly love shopping here. Their selection is great and the people are so nice and helpful. You can tell they really care and take pride in the store. Also their prices are reasonable! I go here for hardware, plants, kitchen items, quick gifts - everything!

Marshall King: Funky little hardware store. Employees are top notch, without them I’m not sure who could navigate the store.

Javier Ruiz: Increíble, this store have of all..... Fantastic!! and good products and prices. Thanks True Value!!!

Tricia Hooper: This place is like Narnia for everything you need for your home! I don’t know how they fit their extensive inventory so perfectly in such a small place, but it’s like magic. I have yet to go in and not be able to find what I need. The staff are always super friendly and welcoming. Such a great local business - who needs Amazon when you have everything you need down the street at True Value?!

Paul Durbin: Great staff. I’ve gone to this hardware store at least 100 times. They make eye contact and ask what I need help with, without fail. They all seem to jump in to cover any duty. If a register is occupied, one of the staff will quickly ask to take me at another one. I’ve never had to search for help and I’ve never had to wait in line.

Sara: Very well-stocked local hardware store! Something for everyone here, and they have quite a few home decor options. Got a mounted key holder here as well as some screws - everyone was very friendly.

The Home Depot: what do users think?

Sassy Sauce: I missed all of the after Christmas saw items. This location had a few products left over from Christmas but nothing I really wanted. Overall the store was neat and organized. I didn’t need any additional items for this trip, just preparing for next years holiday decorations.

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: Great shops for home goods, this is very big shop i have been going that HomeDepot for many years i was there very first day when they opened, biggest problem is coustmer service is very bad here i stud for help for more than 20 minutes before someone showed up.

Kev- keepingitreal: This Home Depot is very convenient if you’re in the Rhode Island/Brentwood NE DC Area. They offer a verity of products that can help you with your Lawn, Garden, Appliances, Painting, Outdoor Patio, Home Improvement, Cleaning Products, Tools/Equipment Rentals and many many more. I really Appreciate the help from a young male staff who was working in the Garden/Mulch area, he was very Helpful and Knowledgeable with assisting me with the products along with a young female cashier on the inside of the store. Now you can never get the help you need when you’re in the store aisles. Every time you asked a staff member who’s in the same aisle as you. Can you help me with something? Their reply seems to be, I don’t work over here and they don’t know who can help you..!!! Home Depot needs better training for their staff who’s working in the store aisles..

Bailey Cage: Unfortunately this was the first time I’ve been to a Home Depot where the staff was completely unknowledgeable. I had spent hours online trying to research the best products / methods for tiling my second-story concrete subfloor with no definitive answers, so I decided to head to the store and find someone to help me. Normally Home Depot workers are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, but whoever they sent back to flooring to help me seemed to know nothing. He was able to show me where items were on the aisle, but he couldn’t answer a single question about how to tile my floor or what the differences and pros/cons in products were. It was incredibly frustrating and unhelpful, and I ended up leaving with a couple hundred dollars of products I later had to return. What truly upset me is that I did some more research once I got home just to find out the answer I was looking for is common knowledge in construction, but as someone doing a DIY project, I just didn’t know what terms I had to search for. For a Home Depot employee - the flooring specialist - to not know this is astounding.

jamesbowdenjr: This is the worst Home Depot is in the entire country. I am trying to get a door, but the store is unresponsive, the management is inept and provides no additional assistance, the associates are extremely slow, unknowledgeable of the products. The worst customer service experience I have ever had. I do not recommend this store. Please go to another Home Depot location.

Anna Lloyd: Desmond in the home and garden went out of his way to help us find something that 4 different employees had just shrugged their shoulders and said that even though it was available online they were probably out. Desmond knew exactly where it was and showed us himself, even though it was on the complete other side of the store. He really took customer service to the next level.

DAVID GILL: paint dept vert slow. When paint was done I was not told it was done. I came up to the counter and stood there waiting while emotes helped others. After 10 minutes he pointed at can. I said is that mine he looked at me like Duh.

Chanpen Tee: I came here for the kitchen cabinets project. The lady is so helpful and friendly. She takes her time explaining all the questions we have.

Lowe's Home Improvement: what do users think?

Sassy Sauce: Great discounts on Christmas items as part of the holiday sale. I picked up Christmas stockings for under $5.00. There were fire pits on clearance as well. I like this location and they generally have the items I’m in need of for repairs or decorations, etc. The staff is very helpful as well.

Kev- keepingitreal: This location offers a variety of affordable items for your home improvement needs. I really appreciate the staff in the aisle for assisting me with finding items on my check list. At check out the cashier was welcoming and friendly. This store was very clean and offers plenty of parking.

Jessica Fullington: Today I went to the garden center for some outside plants. Yolanda was so very helpful! She was able to answer my questions, she even went and got me a cart so that it was easier for me to get the items I purchased to my car. It is so refreshing to have people who are pleasant and helpful at their jobs I will definitely come back to this location to get all the plants I need this spring! Marla was very helpful as well along with the young man who answered some of my questions about my plans. All around a wonderful experience!

goklt: Lots of materials here. Check out was fast. However good luck asking for assistance. Lots of associates are walking around but not helping customers. I tracked an employee down for assistance in moving materials from a high shelf to store level in the door section. He called two times for assistance to my aisle but no one came and he advised going to customer service. They called and still no help. Had to track somone down in a different department altogether. Crazy.

Chase Johnson: The employees here are courteous. But the wood cutting service they claim to offer is not available when needed. The store should just be candid that wood cutting won’t be available (or at the very least won’t be available at any specific time). I am a local DIYer (not a contractor). Before I bought wood I asked about cutting and was told it was no problem—buy it and then request a cut. I did. I was then told the lumber associate wasn’t available for an hour. I couldn’t get the wood (a single sheet of plywood I needed to cut in half) into my car, so I waited. After an hour, there was still no lumber associate, so the wood was never cut.

Annie Signorelli: I ordered a dishwasher with professional installation and the process from start to finish was completely nontransparent and unprofessional. The installation had to be rescheduled because the dishwasher wasn’t pulled down for pick up in time, and then when it was installed it was the incorrect dishwasher — not even the right brand. After several hours on the phone with the Lowes installation line, including being told multiple times that they couldn’t advance the process because they couldn’t get in touch with anyone at their own Lowes store, I called the store directly and was able to sort it out and get the installation rescheduled. A Lowes associate later told me that they don’t have the “luxury” of waiting on hold with the store which is what I had to do in order to ensure my order was completed. Finally the correct dishwasher was installed on the third attempt and I was told I could contact the installation line again to discuss compensation for the inconvenience. Again it took multiple attempts to even get an update on where my case stood, despite being told every time that I should expect a call back “by end of business” every day I called. When I finally got offered compensation it was for less than half of the amount I requested (I requested the installation service be refunded seeing as it took 3 attempts and I was the one having to set everything up because Lowes did not follow through). While I am satisfied with the product I am in disbelief at how difficult and unprofessional the process was with Lowes. I do not recommend purchasing appliances from installation from this store or using the Lowes installation services.

Washington Framers' Workroom: what do users think?

Larry Goldman: Are used to be a huge fan of this place and literally have spent many thousands of dollars using their services. I’ve always been happy with the customer service and the quality of the work. Put in my last two encounters, I have found them to be less than customer oriented, almost expecting me to be appreciative that they are taking the time to work with me. Something has changed. I don’t know if it’s a management shift or what, but there are just too many other framing establishments in the area to have to put up with their attitude. I’m disappointed, but I’m hoping that they again will value loyal customers like me.

Matthew DePauw: I brought artwork there hoping to DIY the framing. Unfortunately, they are not doing DIY due to covid-19, instead, I was helped by delightful, knowledgeable, and patient Caroline. She was absolutely incredible putting together the perfect combinations of frames and matting to accent my art pieces. She was a joy to work with on this job and I hope to use her expertise on future projects.

Steve: I stopped by with two small projects because I at the pool at Wilson. I would normally go to frame-of-mine on capital hill. The woman running the place was hostile and I think she screwed up the project she agreed to do. She refused one framing project. Another framer agreed to to di. She rushed through a second project. She used card board with my etching which, according to another framer, would damage my art because it was not acid-free. The board also did not fit into the frame, but she forced it. I had to have it redone with the correct material (acid free board) and a board that fit into the frame. The price was reasonable, $5, but it was a waste of money and the time required to redo.

Liz Wagstrom: This is one of my favorite places! Great employees that will provide expert advice on frames, mats, glass and mounting artwork. Then you have the fun of finishing the project, with them helping, and it all costs WAY LESS than other framers. Would highly recommend!

Shop Made in DC: what do users think?

Adam Clevenger: DC is full of cheap, mass produced, tourist-trap merchandise. But Shop Made in DC is different! Unique items made by local makers and business owners adorn every shelf in this beautiful shop. Great for souvenirs and gifts.

Kahui Lim: Well organized gift shop with a great selection of candles, post cards, and other knick knacks.

Emerson rachel Sheldon: Genuinely the worst service I have ever received with the rudest employee ever. Yelled at me while smelling a candle then yelled across the store. Then she ran out the door saying having a good night I hope you learn how to read. Ridiculous and so unprofessional. I completly understand I should have had my mask up but really?

Rob Ainbinder: Great store. Full of locally made goods including some great options for souvenir t-shirts, hats, and hoodies as well as a selection of locally made prints, and specialty foods.

Kelly M.: I love this shop. It’s a bit pricey but not unreasonable for locally made and unique goods. It’s absolutely the perfect place to buy gifts or DC souvenirs that aren’t tacky or cheap.

Woodcraft of Washington DC Area: what do users think?

Cara Nicole Stock: Really mind gentlemen here! Came in with zero knowledge starting a personal repurposing project and I was helped gently by the two guys who were working (I wish I got their names). Will definitely return for any wood making projects I take on in the future!

Leonid Matvyeyev: So there I was in this store, I needed nothing and yet many $ later I walked out thinking back if I needed any more. I bought some stuff that I did not need but wanted, a good selection of tools and the staff was very helpful. I have not been to many woodcraft and that other Woodworking store but they all seem as good as the others.

Vince Charming: Knowledgeable staff, plenty of class options, exotic wood, and hardware for DIYers like me! Similar to a Rockler, in a good way.

Ed Skinner: Changed a backordered item, and picked up three pen kits for Summer birthday presents. Amazing inventory! Great service!

Stacey F.: Very helpful staff and really love ability to use advanced tools for workshop fee and have an experienced person to help - really helped!! Note that most small supplies are a bit more expensive than Home Depot basics, but I suspect probably higher quality or more durable than the big box store. If you are able to, definitely support these guys!

Aida Dedajic, CAE: Amazing class! We did the date night and built a beautiful box. Our instructor, Nate Blodgett, was detail oriented, technical, patient, explained all the tools. It was so refreshing. We loved the experience and building something with our hands.

CB2: what do users think?

Jamie X: I am a huge fan of the CB2 brand. I visited the store to see some of the contents in my online cart in person. I loved every piece just as much as I did online. The showroom itself is okay. Georgetown is always busy. One plus is the complimentary validation of parking if you visit the store for 1 hour. They did have floor models of a lot of the more featured pieces. I felt the rug selection was a little lacking. And the selection of lighting was also lacking. Overall if you know what your looking for you trip will be worth it. The sales staff was friendly and helpful with out being pushy...another plus.

Nikki Banner: Beautiful store with LOTs of sales associates. But not one does design and can’t give input. You have to book an appointment online. They also are promoting 15% off on their site but they weren’t knowledgeable in store. Could definitely be improved. For those buying put your email in online and get the promo code. Promo code can be used in store

Sha Mar: I love this store. Staffs are friendly, polite and professional! Furnitures are modern, stylish and elegant! Atmosphere is fantastic!!!!! You can spend hours and hours looking around and nobody would even bother you! This is my kind of furniture store! They recently added natural plants into their designs looks like heaven on earth to me! You should definitely check out their new designs, details, their new fresh plans with pots and etc ... super stylish and very up to-date with modern style of living plus the touch of nature which is perfect.

Muge Sherdil: This place is awesome! We have been furnishing our entire home from here. The place is inviting and very cute, but above all, customer service is above and beyond. They are always friendly, helpful and very accommodating. At a particularly busy time a few days ago we paid another visit to the store and we were catered to with such care it is unbelievable. Ray and Britanny went out of their way to make it convenient for us and always kept their friendly demeanor. Thank you so much!

TANER Karagoz: I bought kitchen cabinet handles from cb2, very nice and high quality

Lilian Hu Nguyen: Lovely store with plentiful associates right on main and main of Gtown. The associates here are super pleasant and helpful as well. Possibly due to demand in the area as the only store, but the inventory is consistently pretty low or non existent.

Sara Tenney: I had a bad experience with the store manager. I returned pillow cases and she told me they were used which they weren’t. Apparently my cats had climbed into the bag which cats are known to do and the pillow cases had cat hair on them. It was of course what she should have inquired but it was clear she didn’t believe me when I said they weren’t and I felt terrible that she believed I was lying. She could have handled the situation with a lot more grace. I won’t be back

Hinckley Pottery: what do users think?

Emma Rentz: Jill makes and sells beautiful pottery. The classes are also fun and reasonably priced.

Chin-Yen Cheng: I went to the Try it program back in November and it was fun in the class but the experience after that class was terrible. Jeff, the assistant there, was very helpful and friendly. For those who decided to finish our works, we were told our works would be done within two weeks before the holidays, and I remember people saying it’s a good idea for holiday gifts. However, I have not heard back from them until I called them after the holidays. Gave them a few emails early January and decided to call them to learn that our works were not complete. Whoever picked up the call was not friendly and told me “You must have heard wrong. It is probably two months instead of two weeks.” Had I known that, I would never have paid to finish the work. Throughout the whole quarter of waiting, they never gave me any update on the progress, either via email or phone as they promised to. I had to call every time to confirm the work was not done until end of February. Most frustrating of all, they finished the work that I never intended to finish. At the time of the class, they asked us to describe as clearly as possible on the work we intended to finish, which I did by describing the size and height and shape, but it turned out they finished my boyfriend’s work and put my name on it. At this time I am so tired of even arguing with them. It was an awful decision I made and I totally regretted it.

Stephanie Wilson: I took a class at Hinckley Pottery over the summer and I had a wonderful experience. I learned so much during my time and my teacher was welcoming, helpful, enthusiastic and inspiring. Her demonstrations were extremely helpful and I loved the atmosphere and shop as well. I will be back!

The Home Depot: what do users think?

beyondTabu: The customer service is hit or miss. If you find a friendly CSR, they’ll show you where the item is, on the opposite end of the spectrum, they just point and mumble which is the majority of them. It has everything you need as usual. They just need to insist all staff are consistent with their service.

Daming Yu: Terrible. Customer service really needs improvement. Bought two items online. Didn’t work. Brought them to store to return and was told all good. Didn’t check the receipt until I got home and then I saw the refund is only for one item. I returned the next weekend and was told I am too late. No apology. It seems the company’s service has been steadily declining in the past few years.

Christian Adams: Yenifer is an outstanding employee and helped me to understand the current active duty benefits Home Depot has. She was simple outstanding and helped me out so much. I’m shocked she isn’t a supervisor or manager knowing two languages and so much about the store.

Syed Haider: Customer service is possibly the worst I have ever encountered. We had the terrible experience of speaking to a CSR by the name of Fabian. We had a simple question regarding some items at the Patio section, to which Fabian replied “are you kidding me? I’m not a carpenter”. We stated we weren’t mistaking him for a carpenter, rather seeking help regarding installation of the items as we were new to this. Fabian subsequently started reading prices off the rack as if my wife and I were mentally challenged. He kept uttering nonsense as we walked away. He was highly disrespectful and unnecessarily rude. I would definitely give this location a miss based on their unforgivable attitude. Thankfully there’s Lowe’s at Jermantown road which is a far superior choice for your needs and much better customer service.

stephanie wade: This is a horrible home depot store - the customer service has been terrible across every single employee I have interacted with over many visits. I keep going because it is close but no more. In my last interaction I spent 50 min trying to buy a grill with someone who told me they knew what they were doing and then after all that time did not and lied about what they could do, then when I tried to cancel my order they hung up on me and did not cancel it.

Denise Nguyen: My daughter and I were looking for a wood stain for a piece of trim to match our LVP floor. The staff were super helpful, but unable to find a match, until Kofi came to the rescue. Kofi was very knowledgeable and patiently opened and tested several cans until we were satisfied with the match. Home Depot Seven Corners, 6/9/22

Hua Huang: We met Ahmad, and he talked to us like our friend. We discussed flooring options for basement and We purchased traffic master vinyl flooring from Home Depot because we got the best service from Ahmad.

Ernesto Roubert: Great location and selections. Love the curbside pickup service. Have the app on your phone.

Little Leaf: what do users think?

Ben Segall: Love this place. Got a rlly nice fern in a gorgeous handmade ceramic pot. The plant selection is awesome and they are rlly nice and helpful. Be aware: most of the ceramics and plants are sold separately. The ceramics are mostly handmade and therefore priced accordingly, so if you don’t want to spend extra on a planter pot I suggest you bring your own and have them repot it for you. Overall this place is a 10/10 recommend. Will definitely go back soon.

Melissa Pazornik: Eleanor was absolutely wonderful to work with! Her eye for arrangements and knowledge about each plant was phenomenal. The entire team made my experience so enjoyable and I am OBSESSED with the final product.

Ceci Moffit: The store was very nice despite the strong artificial flower smell. The store was also very small and not covid safe at all. The male employee was very rude and did not answer my questions. He also look as if he had more important things to do. I have never had such a bad experience at a flower store before.

R. Sims: I have purchased several plants from Little Leaf over the years and recently decided to get a larger plant for my living area. I ordered a Birds of Paradise to be delivered, but did not hear from anyone on the delivery date (Saturday). I got a message on Sunday saying the plant was delivered. I reached out to the supposed delivery driver who I guess contacted Little Leaf and received a message that the confirmation was sent early, erroneously. Ok, no problem. The plant was delivered today and I must say I am disappointed in the quality - many of the leaves are split and the plant does not seem to have been well taken care of. I am surprised by this and unfortunately will be purchasing plants elsewhere.

Holden Rhodes: Hands down the best indoor plant boutique in DC. There’s no other place like it. The selection is always excellent and the profits are high quality and extremely healthy, especially compared to other plant stores in the area. I’ve bought nearly all of my plants from here and there’s a noticeable difference in the longevity of the products purchased here versus chain stores. Staff is consistently helpful and welcoming and the aesthetic never fails!

Ms.: Nice gem in D.C. great selection of plants, all shapes and sizes. Great staff. Some items are great to give as gifts. Books, cards, pots etc. Loved the pot hangers

Lindsey Casella: Always love stopping by this gem. The plants are reasonably priced and the decor/design of the store feels like Justin’s Blakeney Jungalow come to life !!!! Here are my newest additions from the store, that I snagged for total of ~$25. (Note: care cards are included, which is ideal for beginners!)

Kristen Diaz: Shop looks really aesthetically pleasing but that’s about it. Not a great variety of plants & everything is wildly overpriced (plants & pots). Even with that, I expected at least good customer service but received nothing from both employees working there. Not even a greeting or goodbye as I left (even though I still thanked them as I walked out), let alone assistance with anything else. There was also only 1 other person in the store who left before I finished shopping around so the shop wasn’t busy.

Ms. D: Extremely poor customer service and overpriced. Last Tuesday, (Dec 21) the brunette female was cold, unwelcoming and her attitude/personality was off-putting. Especially, her tone of voice when telling people there was an occupancy limit as soon as they barely stepped foot into the shop. With how tiny the shop is, it definitely needs a limit for the safety of staff/customers during Covid, but there’s a much more professional and friendly way to communicate to people, let alone customers. When entering the shop, it felt like you were just a nuisance to her. I will not be returning.

Dawson's Market: what do users think?

P Takehara: Small but convenient. Has a good variety of healthy food options for you to choose from.

Christopher Macfarlane: Things have really gone down hill. Unfortunately, when this market was bought by Dawson’s the quality of management went down severely. Previously it was easy to get any fresh fruit or vegetable, and prepared foods. For the past few months I haven’t been able to get the few things I need for one dinner plan on numerous occasions. The produce is consistently rotting or rotten in the displays. Today when I went to get one of my favorite prepared sandwiches, the chicken Caesar wrap, both wraps in the prepared food section were 4 and 5 days old with dried out Caesar dressing and wilted lettuce. I grabbed a chicken Caesar salad instead, set to sell by 3/2, and came home to find half the lettuce to be wilted and dead. As some one who used to work in the food service industry, at a market not that much different than dawsons, I understand how difficult this whole operation is. But, I’ve given this place a lot of time to get their legs under them, 8 months, and the quality of the market continues to go down. After so many months it’s clear no adjustments are being made by management. I feel bad for the staff that have to deal with this.

Rachel Milito your Realtor: Such a cute place to pop in for a quick drink or lunch. We stopped here after our walk around the town and had a delicious prosciutto pie. The service was great and very quick. It’s a cute market for different products as well. Seating area outside that allows your pet to sit in as well. Loved this place ! There are many different options as well, hot or cold salads, chicken and more !

Logan Richardson: A little gem near DuPont. Perfect for a mid day recharge if you are walking around the city. Get a beer, some chips or a delicious sandwich, sit on the spacious patio and recharge in the shade.

Eve Fairbanks: Still a top place for cheap, unusual craft beer. The rest used to be better—the fruit, veggies, and baked goods selection have been sad lately.

Jenni Bick Custom Journals: what do users think?

Martina Rosen: Overcharged, phone call not returned, mean salesperson. Would go through Amazon if I had it to do over again. Here are the excruciatingly detailed details: I was in earlier this week. I had what I would consider odd experiences with one of the store clerks. It sounds like generally Jenni Bick has excellent customer service but that wasn’t my experience across the board. One employee was kind but the other seemed a bit mean if I can put it directly. We had a few encounters that left me feeling uneasy. I can’t say I have had that experience anywhere else — I generally have an easy time interacting with people. This was frustrating because my trip to this store was meant to be a treat. It isn’t inexpensive, and I used my lunch break to walk up to their store and back from K and 20th. I was looking forward to a nice experience buying a nice journal. This same salesperson wound up overcharging me for a product after displaying much scrutiny about the labeled price. I actually didn’t realize I was overcharged until looking at my receipt the next day. I bought two journals — one Moleskin for about $27, one clearance journal listed at $15, because it had some damage. After studying the journal for quite a while (and confirming when I mentioned the discounted price that she had seen it), I was charged $25; almost twice as much. When I brought the journal back to my office and fully unwrapped it I clearly saw the damage. (But for $15 it’s fine!) I called first thing in the morning the next day, and listened to my voicemail before sending it. My phone number was clear both times I said it. It’s been two full business days and I haven’t received a call back. It just seems odd. I put in a second call this morning but at this point feel somewhat frustrated. I wouldn’t have gone there if I had known it would be like this. The whole point of going into a store rather than Amazon was for the shopping experience.

J Sheehan: Though the products are quality and gorgeous, the staff were so passive aggressive. Instead of telling us they were closing, they played Closing Time by Semisonic. I understand the desire to close up shop, but the staff should be responsible for kindly communicating that. I will be ordering online instead of visiting the shop and recommend others do as well.

Piper Strzelecki: This is one of my favorite spots in the area!! The shop is perfect for cute gifts: stationary, puzzles, tote bags, and every writing utensil you could imagine. Very reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend.

Robert Gregory: My wife likes pens. And paper too. So she likes this store. She has good taste. I just walk around the neighborhood while she shops.

Grant Smith: Top notch quality. Fast customer inquiry response, quick production and good tracking. Absolutely first class selection, and with the front window and custom gold leaf script, you can literally create any theme. I went for the "Ode to the Dreadnought..."

Meaghan Nelson Gibb: I do custom orders a couple of times per month and they make it so simple from start to finish. Their customer service is really excellent, the quality is 100% and the shipping/delivery notifications are great! Could not ask for more!

Zack Williams: Awesome place with excellent staff! I was looking at the travelers notebook series or a different Midori product and was having trouble making up my mind. They left me alone for an hour wondering around the shop trying to figure out what I wanted and occasionally making sure I was still good and didn’t need any more help. I look forward to going back on my next trip to DC and will be sure to tell my friends to go here should they be the type who might be interested. The website doesn’t do the selection justice so if you don’t see something you are interested in online, but will be in the area, you should still go in and check it out!

Callan Eschenburg: A great selection of stationary, notebooks, and fine custom journals. Nice selection of pens and some ink bottles/cartridges as well. I have found many great deals in their sale/clearance section as well. Always walk out with way more than I came in for, but still at a great price!

Washington Monument Bookstore: what do users think?

James Walker: Located steps below the Washington Monument, on the National Mall. Large selection of books on the first U.S. President and souvenir shop. You will also find public restrooms at this location.

Jessica Villarreal: We went in search of the National Parks passport book for my friends daughter. The person working, Cornelia Bryant, was AMAZING!!! She helped us so much. She made recommendations about getting the little circle stickers for my passport book (because I forgot it) and she looked through items in the back to see if she had specific year stamps we were looking for. She was also very friendly and patient. I have been to all of the National Mall bookstores at this point and she is the ONLY one who has ever helped me. Highly recommend this bookstore for the Mall over the others for that reason alone. Thanks Cornelia!!!!

Kirsten Neus: Great place to buy a Washington Monument book or souvenir, ask tourist information questions and get your National Park passport stamped.

Subrina W: 💕💕💕💕 Washington DC is beautiful!

Kokob Weldu: Great customer service

Richard Niemczyk: Unfortunately it was closed due to renovation.

Emissary: what do users think?

Martha Wilson: Hip vibe at this neighborhood coffee. Cool interior but lots of space outside. Delicious food and coffee, too. Thumbs up!

Rebecca Peters: I’ve been here several times and had pretty mixed experiences. The staff is super kind and lovely. If you’re there to work, there’s very limited seating with plug access for charging devices. In ~5 visits, I’ve never been able to get on the wifi (even with restarting devices/the wifi itself etc.) The coffee is really good, but other aspects could use some improvement; I ordered a salad (~$15!) expecting it to be pretty substantial at that price. Was disappointed when it came with only a few pieces of grapefruit, half an avocado, and stemmy greens. Overall: go for good coffee, pre-charge your devices, consider not ordering salad.

Rosa: I love the vibe, the location, the avocado toast, the coffee and pastries of Emissary, but there are a few recurring issues that I hope they address: Some of the staff are very ignorant. You need to ask for one thing several times for them to address. The tables are not always being cleaned after someone leaves. People constantly come and go and sometimes you just get to sit at the dirty table and even when you ask for a napkin to clean the table, the person doesn’t come back. The WiFi also sucks. If you need to do stuff online, you can’t rely on their WiFi.

Tatiana Padilla: Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating; a variety of small plates; and delicious coffee! The space was cute and the staff was friendly. The espresso was a bit fruity and bright— not what I expected. Wish there were more breakfast pastries/breads available throughout the day as the food menu was a bit on the expensive side.

HK: My go-to comfort cafe in the neighborhood. Coffee and pastries are great. They have ample seating space indoors and outdoors, which makes it a great rendezvous point. They offer healthy food options although the portions aren’t big.

Lisa Giorgi: Cozy casual place, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Tried the egg sandwich which was tasty. Good for breakfast and work.

Jelena Djokic: Cool, indie coffee place. It serves delicious coffee and pastries. Prices are average. We got a tasty carrot cake cupcake there. The only thing that bugged me was that we took the food outside and there was simply no argonomic way to eat it without getting super messy, so I would recommend that they get utensils for the take-out.

Bhinesha Seetaram: The best matcha latte. I took mine with almond milk.

Miss Pixie's: what do users think?

Angus Bennion: This store is great! Lots of fun products.

Erin Wagner: I’ve gotten so many high quality items from Miss Pixie’s over the last several years, but today I’m finally leaving the five star review they’ve always deserved! We had scheduled a delivery for them to bring a table we purchased, and Miss Pixie herself rolled up in a pickup truck this morning right on time. It turns out the delivery drivers were stuck in an elevator, but somehow that didn’t stop them at all! We gave her a hand and she didn’t charge us the usual delivery fee to make up for the trouble (what trouble?!). We look forward to continuing to shop at Miss Pixie’s as we furnish our home.

India Lindsay: Store has a variety of furniture, art, and random decorations. Everything is laid out artistically while still being easy to walk around. Majority of items are on the pricier side, though you can find a few steals. I snagged a painted medium-sized pot hand painted in Italy for $12.

Jace Warble: Miss Pixies is a lovely little shop with beautiful pieces, helpful and knowledgeable staff, and price that matches quality. Definitely worth stopping by!

Amy Clerkin: Nicely curated selection of items at reasonable prices. Owner is very responsive to any concerns. We love our vintage couch

MrIrali: One of the cutest boutique home goods stores in DC. And reasonably priced too

Brittney Valcin: I absolutely LOVE Miss Pixie’s!! My mother has raved about this place for a long time and I finally had the pleasure of stopping by. They have a wide variety of things for every taste. So much character! I love to buy random things lol. So of course I bought a few things 🤣. One store that is true to “if you love, BUY IT! It may not be there tomorrow!” I WILL BE BACK

Alexandra Goodman: Lovely antique store with some really nice pieces. Prices for some of the larger items were reasonable, but pricing was kind of all over the place. Obvious sets of items (chairs, side tables, glasses, etc.) were priced individually which was weird for an antique store. Other pieces were priced way too high, like $95 for an IKEA mirror or $250 for a simple basic wooden console table (which would have been $50 anywhere else but DC). Overall, I enjoyed this store and walking around inside, but I probably won’t buy here due to the pricing.

Trader Joe's: what do users think?

Natalia Suska: Best grocery store in the area! It has the cheapest prices in Georgetown because they do not price surge based on location, like Safeway does. The staff are all really nice and helpful too.

Alex Navarro: Great store. Not enough variety for me to shop there exclusively, but I do love many of their items enough to make a special trip. The service from the staff is always excellent. As with all Trader Joe’s, the parking can be a nightmare. Too many spots jammed in.

Lillian Bauer: I visited Monday 03/21/22 around 4:30 pm! Got all my groceries, but unfortunately the woman packed my bags too heavy. I figured my car’s around the corner - I’ll be ok. Well, I was wrong all my items broke through the bag on the sidewalk. Of course all the eggs broke:( I set them aside, picked up my groceries and went to my car before another bag broke. A young brunette woman saw me, ran to my car and offered to run inside and get the items that broke! She was on parking duty. I wish I got her name but let me just say - what a wonderful person!!! This store is beyond lucky to have her!

Maribel Jimeno: The bestTrader Joes in DC. they are increasingly adding more and more fresh unpacked produced which is nice. If only they had more variety of fish and meats, this store would be perfect.

YOUNG-i The GOD: Great customer service goes a long way. Always clean, lines get long but move fast, and they of course have some of the best produce and vegan products on the market. And I don’t think anyone beats their wine prices!

Larry's Homemade Ice Cream: what do users think?

Audrey Osburn: Larry’s is awesome! Wonderfully homemade ice cream without so many of the additional ingredients/preservatives/emulsifiers that big companies use. Not to mention Larry himself was there! He’s a gentleman and made my boyfriend I feel welcome and made us laugh. Great atmosphere and ice cream here.

Lloyd Spencer: My vanilla chocolate chip ice cream cone with a perfect ending to a very long day. Homemade ice cream that is very creamy and actually made by the owner.👍👍

Nate B: This place was great. The ice cream was really good. Service was fantastic. It is a little hidden gem that has been there over 30 years. I would definitely recommend this place.

Sophronia Vachon: This place truly is a hidden gem! The ice cream was delicious and not too sugary, prices were reasonable for the part of town (near Dupont Circle). But the best part is the owner Larry! He has a sarcastic sense of humor and had us laughing the entire time. I think some people mistake his humor for rudeness, but we loved it.

Eamon Kostopulos: Larry is a just man who has been put on this Earth to do one thing, serve delicious ice cream. His loving but firm attitude is purely for efficiency. If you have had a bad experience at this place it is purely because you didn’t live up to Larry’s standards. The ice cream is top notch in DC and I can easily say I will be going again.

Lacey LeCroy: Best ice cream. It has that homemade creamy flavor. The strawberry cheesecake flavor is amazing. My son says it is the best vanilla he has ever had. And Larry is a funny guy too.

Holly Gross: Just wrapping up our trip in DC and stopped by for ice cream. Excellent selection and so tasty! Larry kept us entertained too. Funny guy!

MATIAS STIPICEVIC ETCHEGARAY: The worst experience I’ve ever had in Washington DC. Larry was rude, disrespectful and denigrated my family because we are Latin. Absolutely shameful and disgusted by his attention. I don’t recommend this place at all. You can buy ice cream from CVS a block from here and its way better and overall will be a happier experience. Don’t come to this place.

David Goldstein: Been here before and prices were much higher than they should be, but ok it’s DuPont. Came in tonight and the gentleman behind the counter had such a rude tone and just came across grouchy. If you’re going to charge over $6 for a cookie bar the service better be top notch. There are other places more worth your dollars than this one.

IKEA: what do users think?

preservefootprints: The right place for everything , is a one stop service from furniture checkout, ideas for designing your future whatever rooms, and to Swedish food! This is our fave’s, the IKEA food court! The warehouse was huge, you can also come to practice walking or exercise during extreme weather. They have variety of food selection, all come with healthy calories calculation. Our favorites always Swedish meatballs, fried chicken and the desserts. Have you tried their veggies balls? It’s taste almost the same as the meatballs, but more delicious! Don’t miss out on the side dish, it’s a perfect combination with veggies balls and the sauce. We’re all facing the same issues here at this moment, some if not all items are out of stock! You have to be prepared if you’re running a project, either come as grab as the stocks are ready or visit the store multiple times.

Samone Jones: Old faithful IKEA. Great new furniture. I came to look at the faucets and grab a quick lunch. As always you can get some great design ideas and gadgets for the home. My favorite are the duvets - they can always give a fresh look to a room. The food is pleasant. I got the Swedish meatballs, mash potatoes, and fries.

Mahjabeen Mitu: In general Ikea products are always price worthy and presentable, so you won’t struggle much to fit with your budget and planning. They have huge collection but their catalogue based marketplace will help you to get your desired one quickly. I’ve been using their products since 2013 and it never makes me disappointed. If you love to decorate your home and garden, really a great place to get a complete package of ideas! On a separate note, they have a Swedish food market of vivid collections, so you can enjoy chocolates, cookies, coffee and etc. of swedish flavor right there. Also, I would highly recommend to visit their food courts, foods are awesome! If you have an Ikea family membership, you will get discounts on foods and all kinds of beverages are free for you ☕️🍹🍸. Interestingly, they do birthday wishes to the members each year offering worth of $10 coupon and a frozen yogurt of any flavor🍦 🍦

Djey Kanjaria: Awesome place to buy furniture and household items. Also they serves delicious food. Must visit

Sebrin Adem: As a real estate agent who serves the tri-states of MD,DC,VA and as an investor option like IKEA is a blessing. Lately, I see a lot of improvements in the home appliance and kitchen section kudos. I am like a kid in a candy store coming here. I wish IKEA will start offering professional account set up to get extra perks and discounts. I love coming here and Woodbridge location.

Charley: Overall rating of 4.7, went shopping in search of a specific type of bed frame. Was disappointed when I was informed they did not have that model in stock and opted to instead settle for the "Malm" variant. Buying the bed was super easy, when I confronted an employee he told me exactly what I needed to purchase. The bed came in 4 different items and the overall assembly of it was not too bad. However, take this with a grain of salt because I am a master builder and the process was mildly engaging.

Stephanie Jackson: IKEA literally has everything. I needed a table to match another piece of furniture I purchased from IKEA to place my record player on. Of course they had the perfect piece. It took 5 minutes to put together. Super cute and super easy.

Trader Joe's: what do users think?

Ashley Robinson: Very racist location. They hate people of color here. Also the produce is Always rotten and covered in mold n furry fuzz. I bought a carton of grapes and it had a dead flue in it just chilling. THE Strawberries were rotten and blueberries. Just trifling. DO NOT BUY HERE!!! IF U DO PLEASE PLEASE CHECK TYE ITEMS

Tammie HOLLOWAY: Who don’t love TJ’s and this location did not disappoint. The store was clean and the shelves were fully stocked! Excellent wine section!!!

Brittney Hamilton: Best Trader Joe’s in the DMV! Great customer service always and I like the flow of the store.
