Lowe's Home Improvement: what do users think?
Sassy Sauce
Sassy Sauce: Great discounts on Christmas items as part of the holiday sale. I picked up Christmas stockings for under $5.00. There were fire pits on clearance as well. I like this location and they generally have the items I’m in need of for repairs or decorations, etc. The staff is very helpful as well.
Kev- keepingitreal
Kev- keepingitreal: This location offers a variety of affordable items for your home improvement needs. I really appreciate the staff in the aisle for assisting me with finding items on my check list. At check out the cashier was welcoming and friendly. This store was very clean and offers plenty of parking.
Jessica Fullington
Jessica Fullington: Today I went to the garden center for some outside plants. Yolanda was so very helpful! She was able to answer my questions, she even went and got me a cart so that it was easier for me to get the items I purchased to my car. It is so refreshing to have people who are pleasant and helpful at their jobs I will definitely come back to this location to get all the plants I need this spring! Marla was very helpful as well along with the young man who answered some of my questions about my plans. All around a wonderful experience!
goklt
goklt: Lots of materials here. Check out was fast. However good luck asking for assistance. Lots of associates are walking around but not helping customers. I tracked an employee down for assistance in moving materials from a high shelf to store level in the door section. He called two times for assistance to my aisle but no one came and he advised going to customer service. They called and still no help. Had to track somone down in a different department altogether. Crazy.
Chase Johnson
Chase Johnson: The employees here are courteous. But the wood cutting service they claim to offer is not available when needed. The store should just be candid that wood cutting won’t be available (or at the very least won’t be available at any specific time). I am a local DIYer (not a contractor). Before I bought wood I asked about cutting and was told it was no problem—buy it and then request a cut. I did. I was then told the lumber associate wasn’t available for an hour. I couldn’t get the wood (a single sheet of plywood I needed to cut in half) into my car, so I waited. After an hour, there was still no lumber associate, so the wood was never cut.
Annie Signorelli
Annie Signorelli: I ordered a dishwasher with professional installation and the process from start to finish was completely nontransparent and unprofessional. The installation had to be rescheduled because the dishwasher wasn’t pulled down for pick up in time, and then when it was installed it was the incorrect dishwasher — not even the right brand. After several hours on the phone with the Lowes installation line, including being told multiple times that they couldn’t advance the process because they couldn’t get in touch with anyone at their own Lowes store, I called the store directly and was able to sort it out and get the installation rescheduled. A Lowes associate later told me that they don’t have the “luxury” of waiting on hold with the store which is what I had to do in order to ensure my order was completed. Finally the correct dishwasher was installed on the third attempt and I was told I could contact the installation line again to discuss compensation for the inconvenience. Again it took multiple attempts to even get an update on where my case stood, despite being told every time that I should expect a call back “by end of business” every day I called. When I finally got offered compensation it was for less than half of the amount I requested (I requested the installation service be refunded seeing as it took 3 attempts and I was the one having to set everything up because Lowes did not follow through). While I am satisfied with the product I am in disbelief at how difficult and unprofessional the process was with Lowes. I do not recommend purchasing appliances from installation from this store or using the Lowes installation services.

The Home Depot: what do users think?
Sassy Sauce
Sassy Sauce: I missed all of the after Christmas saw items. This location had a few products left over from Christmas but nothing I really wanted. Overall the store was neat and organized. I didn’t need any additional items for this trip, just preparing for next years holiday decorations.
Chaturbhuj bhojwani
Chaturbhuj bhojwani: Great shops for home goods, this is very big shop i have been going that HomeDepot for many years i was there very first day when they opened, biggest problem is coustmer service is very bad here i stud for help for more than 20 minutes before someone showed up.
Kev- keepingitreal
Kev- keepingitreal: This Home Depot is very convenient if you’re in the Rhode Island/Brentwood NE DC Area. They offer a verity of products that can help you with your Lawn, Garden, Appliances, Painting, Outdoor Patio, Home Improvement, Cleaning Products, Tools/Equipment Rentals and many many more. I really Appreciate the help from a young male staff who was working in the Garden/Mulch area, he was very Helpful and Knowledgeable with assisting me with the products along with a young female cashier on the inside of the store. Now you can never get the help you need when you’re in the store aisles. Every time you asked a staff member who’s in the same aisle as you. Can you help me with something? Their reply seems to be, I don’t work over here and they don’t know who can help you..!!! Home Depot needs better training for their staff who’s working in the store aisles..
Bailey Cage
Bailey Cage: Unfortunately this was the first time I’ve been to a Home Depot where the staff was completely unknowledgeable. I had spent hours online trying to research the best products / methods for tiling my second-story concrete subfloor with no definitive answers, so I decided to head to the store and find someone to help me. Normally Home Depot workers are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, but whoever they sent back to flooring to help me seemed to know nothing. He was able to show me where items were on the aisle, but he couldn’t answer a single question about how to tile my floor or what the differences and pros/cons in products were. It was incredibly frustrating and unhelpful, and I ended up leaving with a couple hundred dollars of products I later had to return. What truly upset me is that I did some more research once I got home just to find out the answer I was looking for is common knowledge in construction, but as someone doing a DIY project, I just didn’t know what terms I had to search for. For a Home Depot employee - the flooring specialist - to not know this is astounding.
jamesbowdenjr
jamesbowdenjr: This is the worst Home Depot is in the entire country. I am trying to get a door, but the store is unresponsive, the management is inept and provides no additional assistance, the associates are extremely slow, unknowledgeable of the products. The worst customer service experience I have ever had. I do not recommend this store. Please go to another Home Depot location.
Anna Lloyd
Anna Lloyd: Desmond in the home and garden went out of his way to help us find something that 4 different employees had just shrugged their shoulders and said that even though it was available online they were probably out. Desmond knew exactly where it was and showed us himself, even though it was on the complete other side of the store. He really took customer service to the next level.
DAVID GILL
DAVID GILL: paint dept vert slow. When paint was done I was not told it was done. I came up to the counter and stood there waiting while emotes helped others. After 10 minutes he pointed at can. I said is that mine he looked at me like Duh.
Chanpen Tee
Chanpen Tee: I came here for the kitchen cabinets project. The lady is so helpful and friendly. She takes her time explaining all the questions we have.

Metal Supermarkets Beltsville: what do users think?
Tom Olin
Tom Olin: Great Selection and Great Service! And I picked it up while I waited. Their website was helpful in pulling together a list of materials. I designed and built a roof-top rack to haul a 21 foot rowing shell.
John Joines
John Joines: Always fantastic to work with. They have always provided material, including specialty items I have requested. They have really worked hard in these times of Covid. Thanks Metal Supermarkets!!!
Z W
Z W: First time customer and it will not be our last! Fantastic crew in the office supported by great team in the background too! Thanks so very much!
Karina G
Karina G: I randomly found this business with the help of google. The staff was extremely helpful. The guys were quick to help me figure out what I needed without me even knowing what I needed. It was great service. I was able to walk out with the piece of metal that same day! Super easy to find. Habla Espanol !
NV Coatings
NV Coatings: Needed a small run of aluminum profiles urgently for a construction project. Very specific sizes in small quantities. Our search led us to Metal Supermarkets who claimed to specialize in exactly what we needed. We worked through the quote process with Morris. He was extremely informative and recommended the correct gauge and type of aluminum to use for the angles we needed. They were actually able to cut the exact lengths we needed and bend then to the necessary angles. This spared us the HASSLE of ordering metal from one place and taking it somewhere else to be fabricated. Their prices seemed very reasonable for the scope of work and they were willing to deliver to us in Northern Virginia. We were very satisfied with the end result. The parts were received on the promise date and were cut to specification. From Morris, to manager Carlos, to the delivery driver, we were provided with excellent Customer Service and will definitely be sending them work in the future!
Anand Rao
Anand Rao: 1st time going there, but surely not my last I was blown away by the customer service both on the phone when I called and when I went to receive my order. The respect and professionalism that I experienced is the main reason I am posting this. There are few companies now that treat people with this type of behavior professional, helpful, and a sense of eagerness. I applaud the trainers, workers, managers, and the owner...it starts at the top. 👍👍and a ⭐ from me! Thanks Metal Supermarkets Beltsville
Selwyn Ramp
Selwyn Ramp: Metal quality is great, prices are good. HOWEVER make sure you check your credit card that they charge the correct amount, they "accidentally" charged $2100 (!!!) too much on my credit card, as compared to what I ordered. The security of your credit info is not what you would wish it too be. [EDIT] from one star to 4 stars, as this issue was properly and professionally resolved in a fast matter.
Response: Thank you Selwyn for taking my call so we could review the situation at hand. As I explained this scenario had never happened before where one customer was charged for anothers order. I appreciate your feedback and input so that this never occurs again and future transactions are smooth sailing. Have a great day and hope to do business with you again soon.

Logan Hardware: what do users think?
Paul Durbin
Paul Durbin: If you want service and quick check out go to True Value on 17th. Completely different experience with knowledgeable staff ready for you at the door who will help you and then check you out right away. 100% of the true value staff knows their stuff. Here it’s mainly people who will just check you out and don’t know hardware. This place has equally good inventory and later hours, but it’s not a hardware store experience. And for what it’s worth this is an Ace Hardware, which advertises on Fox News, should you want to avoid supporting Fox.
Jim Parrett
Jim Parrett: Went there to get glass cut and paint matched. l was pleasantly surprised how helpful and courteous the whole staff were. They were able to take care of what I needed so I could finish my project. Thank you!!!
Response: We’re so glad to hear this Jim- thank you for trusting our team with your DIY needs. And thank you for shopping and supporting our employee owned store!
Aja Navat
Aja Navat: Friendly staff and large selection of things. It is two floors.
Response: Aja, thanks for the great review! We love that your Logan Ace Hardware experience is a good one! Thanks for sharing, shopping local, and spreading the word about all that our employee-owned store has to offer. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Jacob Goo
Jacob Goo: So this is super weird but they sell the best cream soda at the counter. I love ace for being small hardware with a little bit of everything. Thx!
Response: Dear Jacob, we're delighted to hear about your experience at Logan Hardware and so glad you love our cream soda! Thanks for shopping local and we look forward to seeing you soon!
John Trissel
John Trissel: Good hardware store! parking may be challenging. They have a good selection for most small projects and gardening needs
Response: Dear John, thanks for the kind words! We are glad that you find what you need at Logan Ace Hardware. We know you have choices when you shop, and we truly value your business. Thanks for shopping local at our employee-owned store! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Robert Bolen
Robert Bolen: This store is full of caring people and fantastic tools. On two separate occasions, Jorje has gone above and beyond to help me find the perfect solution. It is wonderful to have a local place where experts provide guidance in a kind, nonjudgmental manner.
Response: This is the best review we can hope for - it means a lot when our customers reach out about our staff and store. Thank you for shopping and supporting local at our store, have a wonderful holiday season!

Lowe's Home Improvement: what do users think?
Joshua Cruse
Joshua Cruse: Overall; Lowe’s as a company/brand has declined in recent years. In my recent experience, though, this location in particular seems to be the least reliable of all the stores in the metro DC area. Across departments, their inventory is grossly misrepresented in the app (by dozens), and the associates are generally not helpful in determining whether or not they actually have the items in the store. They are quick to blame “the system”. However, I’m not patronizing their system. I [was formerly] patronizing them. So, if it’s an issue with just this location; avoid this location. If it’s company-wide, avoid the company. That’s how consumers should react to their blame-game logic. At this point, it just simply appears Lowe’s is artificially inflating their inventory counts online to get customers in the door. That’s misleading and dishonest. Alternatively; the big-orange-box competitor’s site/app will direct you to contact the specific store if the quantity is low or out of stock. Still not as honest as a flat “we’re out”, but better than inflated counts. YMMV. Buyer beware.
Kwadwo Tuffour
Kwadwo Tuffour: Took this painting to figure out how to get it up on my wall, and to get the right kind of nails to do it. Sales associate was able to take me right to what I needed and shower me how to hang it. Mission accomplished. Bonus: Had a nice, brief conversation with the cashier, Radha about the different women in the picture. She recognized a couple and asked about a few, which i told her.
Jonathan Larson
Jonathan Larson: Convenient location, but smaller footprint so not as wide of a selection as other Lowes. Staff are proactive, but minimally staff checkout lanes.
Dawn Wunderle
Dawn Wunderle: After more than 7 phone calls to 3 different numbers trying to schedule appliance installation, I was lucky this morning to have been assisted by Joshua Lewis in the Floral and Garden Department. Even though it is not his department or responsibility, he patiently worked through getting the dishwasher I ordered on January 13th scheduled for installation. If there were 10 stars - I would select all 10 for Joshua! Patient, courteous and helpful and he went above and beyond to assist me!
Yumiko Cook
Yumiko Cook: I had outstanding customer service from Gretchen. All the time she was polite, friendly, and tried to find what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the store didn’t carry the fluorescent light bulbs. But she gave me more information of it about me to order it easier.

Tenleytown Ace Hardware: what do users think?
Roger Torres
Roger Torres: This is a great hardware store. Ace has a little bit of everything and in some cases more than specialty store. For instance the plumbing section has more fittings than HD Lowes or Furgerson. Ace is well stock and the sales associate are super friendly. My one dislike and this is why I gave it 4 ⭐️s not the 5 ⭐️s. The prices are in most cases twice as Home Depot and Lowes. Some times triple the price. I’m in the home remodeling/handyman business and it’s time consuming to run to get one piece of 2x4x8 so I end up paying three times the price. I know it’s a convenience but they are the only once that get away with doubling the price. Anyway Indo like the if I know that they carry the item it will be in stock. This particular location has underground parking and it’s free for the first hour.
Response: Hello Roger, thank you for taking the time to leave such a glowing review of our selection and service. Please reach out about opening a business account- we can offer you competitive pricing on the items you shop or need. We want to own convenience of being right in the neighborhood, service, and pricing when possible. If you don't see an item on shelves, we have access to thousands of commercial and residential products through our warehouse and secondary buyers. You can send an email to info@acehardwaredc.com for more info. Thanks for shopping with us, we hope you'll reach out about the business account so we can get you a better deal on the products you need.
John Newman
John Newman: I like this Ace Hardware. I was looking for a water additive for my humidifier and they had it in stock. It is a small store. Rather tight quarters, but a large selection. Attitudes at the register can be good or not so good. Depends on who is on the schedule that day.
Response: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review John! Not sure you saw, but we recently expanded our store by another 500sq ft or so which has really helped the flow of the store. If there’s anything you need but can’t find, just ask! We have access to thousands of products in our warehouse not found on our shelves. Thanks!
Kenneth Kilgour
Kenneth Kilgour: The staff is helpful and available. For a small store, it has an excellent selection. The guys in the paint department are terrific.
Response: So glad to hear our team provided exceptional service! Looking forward to helping you soon with your next DIY project. Thanks for supporting our employee owned store!
Sharif Gonder
Sharif Gonder: Nice hardware store. Neat & organized, validated parking.
Response: Thank you for the 5-star review, Sharif! We are happy that you enjoyed your shopping experience at Tenleytown Ace Hardware! We love creating a great shopping experience for our valued customers. Please don't hesitate to let us know how we can help you on your next visit!
Max O'Rourke
Max O'Rourke: Was looking for some heavy-duty tools, paint, and to replicate my keys. A young employee named Caleb was able to help me find it all! I was in and out in no time, very efficient.
Response: Awesome to hear Max, thanks for shopping local at our store!
Uncle Poodle
Uncle Poodle: Shopping experience here is generally positive. Staff is friendly and always offers to help.
Response: It's so nice to hear from you, thanks for taking the time to leave a review and compliment our team! We hope to see you again soon.

The Home Depot: what do users think?
john ho
john ho: The inventory is great. The store is a bit not clean. The store is not really well organized. The most important is the staff is not very friendly at. You are on your own when you visit this store.
Rony Acevedo
Rony Acevedo: Worst customer service ever!!!!!! Being honest!!! Someone call Miriam! With a piercing on her nose. He had me waiting for 15 minutes. She only came because someone else call her. I told her I was there before the other person (she saw me all the time) and she said. I don’t care!!!! Tried to speak with someone else but no one help
Mena Ebiasah
Mena Ebiasah: When it was time to show my ID to pick up my online order, I realized ink had leaked all in my purse and license and obstructed the photo view. The rep June patiently took her time to wipe down my ink blotched ID until it was visible and gave me some extra Clorox wipes to wipe down my purse. Extra mile. Everyone else in the store were helpful and helped me find everything I needed. Will return
mydogRoscoe88
mydogRoscoe88: Much improved: parking is still crazy but once inside, store was in better shape. Cashier was helpful, polite, and efficient. I did find what I wanted to purchase and was done very quickly.
Elian Hauling
Elian Hauling: TIFFANY AT THE OXON HILL, MARYLAND LOCATION SHOULD NOT SERVICE CUSTOMERS IF SHE DOES NOT LIKE TO SERVICE CUSTOMERS. I came into the HomeDepot wanting to purchase a tool but noticed that no one was around to help with removing the tool and also the orange apron associates were busy with customers. I decided to go to “CUSTOMER SERVICE” to see if anyone can help me with taking the tool out of the cage. Once I walked over to customer service I politely asked an associate if there was anyone that can help with taking a tool out? She then asked me in what aisle was the tool in? While I was going to look and see what isle, there was another associate named TIFFANY who was next to the associate who I spoke with TIFFANY SAID THAT I PASSED 5 ORANGE APRONS BEFORE COMING TO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHY COULDN’T I ASK ONE OF THE OTHER PEOPLE WITH APRONS. I mentioned that I came to customer service because that is the purpose of customer service, to service the customer. I left and serviced myself in trying to find someone who can actually help me. TIFFANY SHOULD NOT BE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE IF SHE IS NOT WILLING TO SERVICE CUSTOMERS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
Tony Johnson
Tony Johnson: The check out lines are a tad perplexing. No designated demarcation only an arbitrary queue forming on the right so potential confusion is created but relatively easily resolved. Aka. They use a lot of self checkout.

Lowe's Home Improvement: what do users think?
Denise Anderson
Denise Anderson: Great place to shop, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had to return a lock, I waited on a line for30min, which did not move. The only movement was more people added to the line. Absolutely frustration! I still need to take back the lock, but do not want to spend my entire day waiting in a return line. The need to hire better staff and pay them. Give so e incentives fir coming to work and doing a awesome job. Easy to take money, but trying to return is a beast
Jonas Kibet
Jonas Kibet: Cool home improvement store. I can rate them better than Home depot. I love their app. So cool you can scan for prices of items on the shelf before you check out. The staff and wonderful. The only thing I didnt like was that I checked out an item online and says I can pick it up from the store but is nolonger available in the shelves.
Tyra
Tyra: Lowes has most of those house hold things you need. To repair or restore. My last experience at this location was very good. Young lady tried to help me but she got someone who had more experience in plumbing who also tried to help me and explain the piece I was looking for. Unfortunately I had to get a refund. The lady who helped me with refund was friendly and nice as well.
Jerome Harper
Jerome Harper: Set out to fine me a ridding mower this morning , stop by Lowe’s on 301 in bowie. Was able to purchase one in about 15 minutes. And the service was great!! Thanks! Want to say thanks to Ms.Carolyn cashier 10 for her help this morning.
Jewel Jace
Jewel Jace: Customer Excellence! Thank you Dee and Denay for providing service with a smile! Thanks for being Kind! Dee you patiently matched the screws with the correct ones. Denay before Dee came along you were with another customer but you made me feel great while waiting. Dee appear and without hesitation offer to help. You both are an example of Operational Excellence! Many THANKS! I will visit and shop again.
Howard Batiste
Howard Batiste: I went here to get some grade 8 hardware for a project I have at home. It was significantly easier to find what I needed versus shopping at Home Depot and there seem to be a lot more available in terms of volume. Would definitely recommend here if you are shopping around for screws and bolts.
Sharon Harper
Sharon Harper: Eric and Johnathan was very helpful. 1 helped with the light bulbs/light fixture and the other with dimmer switches and face cover. You all need to have more than 1 register open on a Friday evening. Same on you all plus you need more associates working. People needs job.

Karen Parker
Karen Parker: This store is always top notch! Wit in customer pick up could be better for orders placed on line. Over all , Good shopping experience the greeter was very knowledgeable and helpful. Directed us to the proper insert for what we were looking for. Cashiers technicians very customer friendly.
Dollrnia Butler
Dollrnia Butler: Everything was great except getting rung up The gentleman in flooring gave me tips. And he took the ceramic tiles up front. He was so nice. Needed another cashier. Had to wait around 20. minutes to get rung up. Man loading my truck apologized and was nice. Thanks

He was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable in the products I was looking for. He even talked to my contractor on the phone to make sure I was ordering the right products. He never got frustrated or annoyed by me when I asked him 101 questions. Thank you so much for making my experience so pleasant and stress free!

Lowe's Home Improvement: what do users think?
Isata K
Isata K: On Saturday, June 4, 2022 I visited this Lowes. Outside there was a grill advertised for $199. When I went to the customer service counter to purchase it, the woman working could not find it in the system. I was able to look it up and provide item number. Evidently the grill was actually $249, and was priced incorrectly outside. Matt, one of the store managers was amazing. He was able to ring the grill up for the price labeled outside. He went above and beyond to dismantle the grill hood, so it could fit in my SUV. He and another man were able to load it into my SUV without scratching my vehicle. He was very helpful and kind. His attitude was refreshing. I appreciate your assistance.
Niko Trowell
Niko Trowell: I just had the worst experience at lowes, I’m an electrician and I normally go to Home Depot to pick up wire but I needed some wire cut that they didn’t have so I went to lowes. When I got there I went to the electrical aisle 12, I waited for 5 minutes until I seen a sales associate. I asked if he could help me he said give him 5 minutes. So I waited 15 minutes before I went to the checkout lane for them to call for assistance. After that in waited another 15 minutes before i decided to go to customer service to ask for the manager. So i spoke with the manager who couldn’t assist me so they supposedly called someone for assistance. I waited there 10 minutes before I decided to leave. They wasted 40 minutes of my time just to have a wire cut I will probably never visit that store again this was the worst service I’ve had trying to buy something from a hardware store ever .
Lisa McCants
Lisa McCants: I ordered a stove on line for the Memorial Day Holiday and paid for haul away and installation. There was no mention of the delivery process. When the delivery person arrived and indicated he is here just to drop off the stove. It was conveyed he does not install and that is separate. I am perplexed as to why this is a two step process, and if I knew I would have scheduled them both the same day. The delivery person noticed damage to the back of the box and saw the stove was damaged. He took the stove with him as damaged goods. Now, I’ve been calling Lowes since yesterday and the phone just rings and no one ever picks up. This is ridiculous and I’ve called several times. Now, I have to go in person for one thing I ordered on line….Terrible I can’t rate this zero stars….Frustration overload…
Omari Black
Omari Black: Listen when I tell you 5⭐️ Service, go to the appliance section and see Mr. Brandon! From the Initial encounter it was top notch professionalism, customer service, and in depth knowledge of the products! I went in totally dum as to what I needed to get and he took his time and explain everything to me as far as my options, the quality and on top of that what was on sale at the moment. I will recommend anyone looking for any home goods to definitely go to the New Carrollton location and see Brandon asap!
Sergio Torres
Sergio Torres: Excellent employees great help i lost my recite and they came to help great experience thanks to all who helped us. Jose the pros manager was really helpful at Lowes. Thanks again for everything.
JLAX 27
JLAX 27: The WORST customer service. New Carrollton MD Lowes has the worst customer service. Tried for 3 hrs to talk to someone at the store about a delivery that was continuously delayed. I had to call 7 times because no one would answer the phone and when they did it was just transfer and eventually hung up on. New management needed.
Captain Izabella Sparrow
Captain Izabella Sparrow: Normally, I love this location. In person. Have been on hold for almost 40 minutes. I was just put on hold. No one asked if I minded being put in hold. Someone picked up and placed me on hold immediately after picking up the receiver. Sure, busy you are. But, unacceptable this is. Doing housework so I have time, today, while I listen to this repetitive, ridiculous hold music. Asking for a manager immediately. If no on picks up, corporate will be getting a call. This is too too unprofessional. Wish I could give them a negative 10 stars. -⭐️-⭐️-⭐️-⭐️-⭐️-⭐️-⭐️-⭐️-⭐️-⭐️ -☆-☆-☆-☆-☆-☆-☆-☆-☆-☆ 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

Adams Morgan Ace Hardware: what do users think?
Megan Tebbenhoff
Megan Tebbenhoff: Everyone at this Ace Hardware is incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable! I went in seeking a screw that would fit a warped sleeve in a new piece of furniture, and Chris went above and beyond to help me fix my problem. He asked me to bring in my furniture, offered me a dolly to wheel it in from my car, and used some tools free of charge at the store to help get the screw properly threaded so I could finish building my furniture. It was so kind of him to offer his assistance, I likely would have had to exchange the furniture if I didn’t have his help. I have come to this location a few times and I have always been incredibly impressed by the service. Huge thank you to Chris!
Response: These are the kinds of stories we love to hear from our customers- so glad our team was able to help you and go the extra mile! We love helping our customers problem solve - thanks for trusting our expertise! Have a wonderful week.
Sarah Parker
Sarah Parker: Everyone here is incredibly nice and helpful! Someone very nicely greeted me as I walked in, and then Chris was super friendly and efficient in making some keys for me, and Lawrence was really friendly too! This is a super competent, customer service centered team, and they made my day with how nice they were!!
Response: So glad you took the time to leave a review Sarah, thank you for sharing your great shopping experience! We'll pass your comments along to our manager (Lawrence!) so they can give kudos to the staff. Thank you for choosing to shop and support our employee-owned store!
Jessica C
Jessica C: I take my dog here twice a week while I browse their new plant selections. The staff are all so nice and helpful. I love that they shower my dog with attention. My dog loves it too. She always tries to drag me in for treats. They have a great plant selection. They change things up but you can usually find a good array of basics and less common plants. They often have small hoyas, peperomias, aglaonemas, and other stuff I’m looking for. I always look forward to checking out the new stock on Wednesday and Friday. Thanks, Ace
Response: Jessica, we're delighted to hear about your 5-star experience at Adams Morgan Ace Hardware! Our goal is always be to provide the best customer experience possible at our employee-owned stores, and we love dogs and plants, that's for sure! Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Response: Thanks for shopping with us Daniel!
Suriya Jayanti
Suriya Jayanti: I like this store and its people so much that sometimes I just come to hang out. And I definitely go out of my way to buy things here instead of Home Depot or Amazon. Viva la Hardware!
Response: Browsing and hanging out are encouraged! Hardware stores are so much fun, we are glad to hear you enjoy being at our store. We are proud to be your local helpful place; thank you for your patronage!

Glover Park Ace Hardware: what do users think?
Sam C
Sam C: This is a great hardware store. Staff is helpful, selection quite decent, and right in my neighborhood. Could I save a little bit of cash by driving out to the deep burbs for the Home Despot or similar? Sure, but would I? Absolutely not. Icing on this cake: they always accept my Ace coupons, even if past their expiration date. Now that is ace in my book.
Response: We are so glad to have loyal customers like you who understand the value of shopping and supporting local businesses in our community. Looking forward to seeing you in store again soon! Thanks for shopping with us.
MAC Cover
MAC Cover: I am rating Glover Park Ace location a 4 because the gentleman who assisted me was very nice in spite of this mean nasty new world we live in. The only issue I have was I placed my order for curbside but the store was unable to locate the order which caused me to go inside the store which I loathe. Love my Ace Hardware!
Response: Dear MAC, thanks so much for taking the time to share your positive experience! We're thrilled that we can be of service at Glover Park Ace Hardware. We look forward to seeing you again soon! Thanks for shopping local and supporting our employee-owned store.
Campbell F
Campbell F: I love this place! The staff is usually super knowledgeable and helpful and you start to feel so collaborative that you want to come back and show them the results!
Response: Thank you Campbell! We are glad to have customers like you who shop and support our store and staff. We look forward to helping you with your next project!
Matthew Berning
Matthew Berning: Good use of a small space, reliable place to pick up supplies for small home projects and interesting plants -though sometimes a bit disorganized
Response: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! Glad we're your reliable neighborhood place for your home improvement and maintenance needs.
Rozan Cater
Rozan Cater: Although I requested curbside pickup, I had to go in the store. I was the only customer, tired of waiting I got the item from the shelf, showed the cashier and left. I seem to have interrupted break time. Not worth it!
Response: We're sorry to hear you had a negative experience Rozan - this is not a common occurrence at our stores and unfortunately we were a little short staffed over the holidays due to health concerns. Since we're in basement level, it can be challenging to step off the floor during certain times of the day when staffing is limited. We do have free validated parking in the lot behind our store if you find you need to pop in for a minute. Your comment was passed along to our manager who will review with his team. We value you as a customer, thanks for shopping and supporting our employee owned business.
John Thompson
John Thompson: The store staff was very helpful in locating some small clips that I needed to create a display
Response: Glad to hear our staff could help! Thanks for shopping local at our store.
Jennifer B
Jennifer B: I was surprised to see what a huge store was hiding here! Super helpful employees, too.
Response: So glad you found us Jennifer! We have a Greta team. Thanks for shopping with us- we’re always for you anytime you need help!
Hugo Toledo
Hugo Toledo: Not gonna lie: one of the best places to go when I was in DC helping loved ones move in to a new place. Look: big box stores have their place but the number of folks available to answer questions and the depth of attention and knowledgeable service we consistently received on our 3…4 trips there make it a favorite. Check them out!
Response: We are so glad to hear from you Hugo, we appreciate your business and kind comments. We look forward to helping you with your home improvement needs again soon!

The Home Depot: what do users think?
beyondTabu
beyondTabu: The customer service here is horrendous! The staff would rather watch paint dry than help you. I’ve been here on several occasions and their customer service is consistently non existent.
D Prince
D Prince: Home Depot in Alexandria you have the BEST employees! I’ve been back and forth to this store for the past few weeks gathering supplies for my remodel. Lillian in the paint department was very helpful in assisting me with my paint colors. She made sure I bought the CORRECT base paint to mix with the colors I picked out for my home. Lawrence (gentleman in the pictures) assisted me EVERY time (and I mean EVERY TIME) I purchased items that needed to be put in my vehicle. And EVERY TIME he serviced with a smile (just look at the pictures). Lawrence is so attentive, respectful and helpful. He made sure the items I purchased were put safely in my vehicle to be transported! THANK YOU LAWRENCE!! And thank you Home Depot Alexandria for hiring such great employees who know the meaning of customer service!
Brian Copes
Brian Copes: This is my main Home Depot I go to the Northern Virginia area. It usually has any home improvement or household item that I need for my place. My only issue is sometimes the staff is busy handling other customers questions to answer my personal question. Definitely one of top stores in the area in my opinion. I would recommend you come experience this store yourself.
John Dayton
John Dayton: UPDATE: After several months I was finally able to get this issue resolved!! Thank you. Updated to 3 stars. It took way to long and too much work to finally get connected with someone in customer service who was empowered to resolve my issue, but it finally happened, thank you!! Original Post: Bought a shower door last fall, Home Depot lost it before I picked it up… now I’m out $575 dollars. Managers won’t work with me. Told me I’d have better luck disputing with my credit card company than with Home Depot…then they fought me again there. And this is all after I reordered a second new door of the exact same model. Too bad no one is empowered to help their customers. I wish I’d never taken my business here!!
David Lawrence
David Lawrence: I paid $160 for dishwasher installation, cleared my morning to wait for them to come, then the installers refused to do the plumbing. Nothing fancy, just straightforward install. I’ve heard of this happening to others. This is a racket! Stay away from appliance purchases at Home Depot!!
Amre Kebaish
Amre Kebaish: Tread carefully when asking an idle associate about in item that is supposedly in stock according to the website/app, but isn’t available in the stated location. They will angrily glare at you for daring to interrupt their phone scrolling. If you persist, they will eventually sigh and put the phone down. However, they will say whatever it takes to get you out of the store without being helpful.
Russ Colbourne
Russ Colbourne: How do you have half the isles closed on a Saturday morning???? All I needed was a adjustable wrench and they refused to allow me to get it. Totally would understand if there was heavy equipment or something like that in motion. I asked when the isle would be open again and the employee just shrugged her shoulders. I absolutely hate this location but unfortunately it the most convenient. I will be going out of my way to lowes from this point on.
Katherine Matsuo
Katherine Matsuo: Came in about 45 minutes before closing looking to buy a power drill. They were all locked up and spent about 20 minutes trying to find someone to help me. They then made the announcement that the store was closing and to bring your items up to the register. Again, no one to help me get the drill I needed. There were about 4 other people in the aisle with me. Decided to just buy one off Amazon as I left the store.
Fernando Espana
Fernando Espana: I shop at home depot around the country (I tour 11 months a year with an Entertainment industry) and always the best customer service & friendly home depot associate ayesha, very helpful and on point in every project planning when I need purchasing materials & tools. Thank you ayesha, great job!

K R
K R: Wonderful local hardware store that carries anything you need for the home. Cleaning supplies, paint, tools, key cutting, balloons, flowers, plants and everything in between. The staff is always nice and during COVID they were my go to spot for supplies. Some amazing clearance deals as well.
Response: Thank you K! We are glad to have customers like you who shop and support our store and staff.
Meghan Griffin
Meghan Griffin: The folks at this Ace hardware are fantastic! I have brought many home improvement ideas to them since I moved to the neighborhood, and it’s always with earnestness and a pleasant demeanor that the staff help me work out solutions. On a recent visit, May and Louie helped me to unstick a really stuck bolt on the hinge from my refrigerator door. I was trying to flip the door so that it opened the right way for my kitchen layout, and they were both so invested in my success. (May, Louie, if you read this, it worked!!) Truly above and beyond. I will always come back to this store for hardware needs.
Response: Hi Meghan Thank you for the glowing review! We are so glad to have you as a customer. We will make sure Louie and May know that the project was a success. These are the kinds of stories are why we are in business. Hope to see you again soon!

Kevin Russell
Kevin Russell: Is a pretty small Ace, but they make up for it by their friendliness. If you need perry basic stuff, you will likely find it here. Maybe check there website first before to make sure they carry what you need.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our store, Kevin! If you can’t find what you need on our shelves, you can ask one of our associates to check our warehouse, which has thousands of products we don’t have room to stock in store. Hope to see you again soon!

Don Malnati
Don Malnati: This is a great local hardware store, that has just about everything a homeowner could need. Plants, screws, tools. They have helpful staff as well, one of them actually called me when my wife accidentally locked her keys in the car so I could come help.

The Home Depot: what do users think?
Sarah Marie Gerrity
Sarah Marie Gerrity: We love this Home Depot! Recently moved to the area so we find ourselves at THD multiple times a weekend — and every time we’ve needed help, we just happened to get Jonathan! He recognized us right away and has made our shopping trips extra warm, and even went out of his way to help us sort out our military discount. Great customer service and it keeps us coming back!
Nsoseh Quistoran
Nsoseh Quistoran: Recommended to go shopping. Lots of people visit this store and it has a wide range of stuff
Reg Templeton
Reg Templeton: Convenient, Well-stocked, Nice Helpful Employees BUT... Filthy bathroom! During early morning visits two consecutive days this week, ladies room floor was smeared with what seemed to be fecal matter... Difficult to find a parking space where your vehicle will be safe from the scores of abandoned carts rolling around, regardless of time of day. Also, have twice seen rude clientele verbally abusing staff with vile, humiliating profanity (in Pro Dept), while other staff cowered in the background. In other settings this would be criminal behavior, but no one came to help the employee. For shame!
Jessica Vazquez
Jessica Vazquez: Picked out balusters for a stair project. Employee approached saying the aisle was being closed to bring an item down. We needed maybe 30-60 additional seconds and informed the employee we understood and were grabbing our last items and would quickly vacate. She stood there and repeated very rudely that the aisle was being closed. Maybe wait for the customer to finish their purchase? Especially when their hands were already full with product? Not as if we were just hanging out on purpose.
Chit Sayar
Chit Sayar: Customer service is very poor. I ordered online and they just delivered some of my order and one item was missed. So I called them and they hold up my phone for several minutes. And the employee said she will refund and hang up the phone immediately and no apology and no say thank you or anything. Just hang up the phone.
Chanpen Tee
Chanpen Tee: This location always has a lot of indoor plants. The price is reasonable. Staff is helpful.

Mo Fares
Mo Fares: One of my favorite hardware store, employees actually come to you and ask you if you need any help. Greta place to buy Stihl products and big green egg. My favorite store to buy nuts and bolts for my vintage car. Wish there were more Ace hardware and less depot.
Response: Thanks so much for the kind words Mo.
Josh
Josh: I visited here to buy 1 specific product the other day. Within 3-5 minutes, I was greeted by one person and another associate asked if I needed help. The customer service here is outstanding.
Response: Very nice of you to say Josh. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Carlo legacy Journey: Purchased a traeger tailgater 20. Great customer service. Free assembly and curbside pick up was smooth. Purchased through online with store help. Thank you Andy for the assembly. Highly recommended store. Will sure to return after my first visit.
Response: Thanks Carlo! We appreciate the review. Andy and the rest of our team are glad you had a great experience and we hope to see you soon!
Rajasekar Kayamboo
Rajasekar Kayamboo: I went there to pick up a Craftsman tool box. This is my first time going there. It is in a complex land the area is likely Fairfax downtown. Fairly large store and abundant collection of tools. They also do repairs of equipments and sharpening of blades. Staff were knowledgeable.
artie dellava
artie dellava: First time there, great experience. The sales people were very nice and very helpful. I will definitely go there when I need things. Much better than Home Depot or Lowes!

The Home Depot: what do users think?
Ernesto Roubert
Ernesto Roubert: Great location and selections. Love the curbside pickup service. Have the app on your phone.
beyondTabu
beyondTabu: The customer service is hit or miss. If you find a friendly CSR, they’ll show you where the item is, on the opposite end of the spectrum, they just point and mumble which is the majority of them. It has everything you need as usual. They just need to insist all staff are consistent with their service.
Syed Haider
Syed Haider: Customer service is possibly the worst I have ever encountered. We had the terrible experience of speaking to a CSR by the name of Fabian. We had a simple question regarding some items at the Patio section, to which Fabian replied “are you kidding me? I’m not a carpenter”. We stated we weren’t mistaking him for a carpenter, rather seeking help regarding installation of the items as we were new to this. Fabian subsequently started reading prices off the rack as if my wife and I were mentally challenged. He kept uttering nonsense as we walked away. He was highly disrespectful and unnecessarily rude. I would definitely give this location a miss based on their unforgivable attitude. Thankfully there’s Lowe’s at Jermantown road which is a far superior choice for your needs and much better customer service.
Daming Yu
Daming Yu: Terrible. Customer service really needs improvement. Bought two items online. Didn’t work. Brought them to store to return and was told all good. Didn’t check the receipt until I got home and then I saw the refund is only for one item. I returned the next weekend and was told I am too late. No apology. It seems the company’s service has been steadily declining in the past few years.
Christian Adams
Christian Adams: Yenifer is an outstanding employee and helped me to understand the current active duty benefits Home Depot has. She was simple outstanding and helped me out so much. I’m shocked she isn’t a supervisor or manager knowing two languages and so much about the store.
stephanie wade
stephanie wade: This is a horrible home depot store - the customer service has been terrible across every single employee I have interacted with over many visits. I keep going because it is close but no more. In my last interaction I spent 50 min trying to buy a grill with someone who told me they knew what they were doing and then after all that time did not and lied about what they could do, then when I tried to cancel my order they hung up on me and did not cancel it.
Denise Nguyen
Denise Nguyen: My daughter and I were looking for a wood stain for a piece of trim to match our LVP floor. The staff were super helpful, but unable to find a match, until Kofi came to the rescue. Kofi was very knowledgeable and patiently opened and tested several cans until we were satisfied with the match. Home Depot Seven Corners, 6/9/22

Brian Hiltbrand
Brian Hiltbrand: Poor selection looking to purchase some welding rod . They offer 6 different types of rod all but 2 of the options were gone , empty not a single box available. This was the case for a lot of items throughout the tool section

Lowe's: what do users think?
M.E.
M.E.: It appears Loews is becoming more customer/purchaser friendly than Home Depot. In my search for a decent microwave, Home Depot had lesser known brands and almost nothing in popular brand products. Additionally, when we found a nearby worker in appliances department he immediately said, " I will be back in a minute" that turned into 15 minutes later. Another worker came over and assisted us for about 40 minutes with a kind & helpful manner. Finally, we decided to try Loews. It was different, as night and day. Several discounted Samsung microwaves were available right on the sales floor to sweep away. Check out had enough registers open with barely any wait. Workers were pleasant, helpful and customer friendly.
Victor Dugger
Victor Dugger: I practically live there lately. Fantastic customer service including fun and useful inventory. The lady that usually works in the inside plant dept is knowledgeable and patient. Look her up if you need help.
Shenika Buries
Shenika Buries: I received excellent customer service from Hannah and 2 other employees. They were very attentive and helpful when purchasing a lawn mower and other lawn care equipment!
phoebe lots
phoebe lots: Had an appointment for someone to come measure my kitchen floor for new tile. They gave me a 1pm to 5pm window so I took a half day off work. At about 5:15pm I got a call saying the Lowes representative would not be here until 6-7pm. He never showed up. No calls, nothing. I’m glad this happened because I can only imagine trying to deal with them once a project actually starts.

Lowe's Home Improvement: what do users think?
Justin Holbrook
Justin Holbrook: Blind Wizard was assigned to install my custom shades ordered through Lowes. When they were first installed the installer was messy and I had to follow him around my house picking up all the trash from each and every box he opened. I also was asked to take the boxes of each shade to its proper location in the house because that wasn’t part of his job. Sounded crazy, but I did it because I wanted my shades hung. After an hour or two he had all but one of the inner mount shades installed. MOST of which had a defect or were made wrong. He however did not hang any of the outer mount shades because they were too narrow and if he hung them they would crack the glass. Before he left he had stated he was going to have the entire set re-order due to the issues. A day or two later he texted me asking to come hang the rest of them because his boss told him to hang them higher than the window so it wouldn’t crack the glass. I allowed him to come do that as a temporary solution since my master bedroom is outer mount and we couldn’t be without shades for much longer. It’s been about 6 months now and my re-ordered shades are no where to be seen. I’ve checked with Lowes and they’ve been in contact with Blind Wizard and nothing has been done. Blind Wizard came to remeasure twice in the 2022 year and still nothing has been re-ordered. I expect more from Lowes. It doesn’t take 6 months to re-order. Pictures show some, but not all of the issues. Pix 1: shades too narrow. 2. Chain not secured because it’s too narrow and would crack the glass. 3. Shade not installed. 4. Left shade made backwards. 5. One of many crooked shades.

Bismarck Hernandez: I when to do some research and shopping The lady in the flowers area she is amazing helpful go there and get a plant she is expert on that Then one of the cashier I ask something out of the normal like a box for my plants and she took her time and get me a extra 2 box. Amazing staff, you guys should put some screen TVs with the special of the day.
Lee Cox
Lee Cox: The associates were very friendly. As i was shopping more than one cake up to me and offered assistance. The store has a good layout, variety of items, and designated parking for pros, veterans, pick up orders, and handicapped. They even have a good selection of mechanics specialty tools.
Harley Stine
Harley Stine: I buy lots of appliances in my property management business. The experiences range from sweet to sour. Yesterday’s delivery and installation of KitchenAid convection microwave purchased at Lowe’s Chantilly was flawless from advance arrival heads up call to clean up at finish. Israel and his helper were efficient and focussed. In store purchase was also streamlined. Total cost installed was $858.50. The microwave was on sale and the last one in stock. No sales tax on the purchase because delivery/installation company was a third party sub contractor making the purchase a capital home improvement exempting sales tax.
Joshua Cruse
Joshua Cruse: I’ve had fairly decent in-store experiences at this location. However, tried calling numerous times on a Sunday afternoon, no answer. Not a great experience. Overall; Lowe’s as a company/brand has declined in recent years. The reason I was calling was in relation to an issue that seems to be present company-wide: incorrect inventory counts online. Across departments, it seems inventory is grossly misrepresented both online & in the app (by dozens), and the associates are generally not helpful in determining whether or not they actually have the items in the store. They are quick to blame “the system”. At minimum, this location needs to step up their phone game.

g wu: Line at self check was 8 deep. All self check registers were down and the person manning the self check was trying to check people out. Only one regular lane was open and it was 3 deep. Finally they opened another lane but apparently could not take debit card. Customer in front of me get up and seems that none of the items she is trying to purchase has a bar code on it. Cashier does not think to call management to open another register. I just put my stuff down at the next closed register lane and walked out. Not sure what is going on at this Lowes, but what a disaster.
Bart S
Bart S: Unbelievable lazy employees. I understand they have policies in place for not cutting some pieces of wood. Long story short no customers in sight at the wood section. The employee I asked tells me “no we don’t cut because it’s a bundle” ok. I walk out he and another employee have a lot fun laughing and doing nothing. If it would be extremely busy I understand. I would gladly pay to have it cut so it would fit in my car. Just “no” and leave me alone I have to go and do nothing.
Kevin Chen
Kevin Chen: The place is good. But there was one particular old woman cashier near the register who constantly roller her eyes on me. All I want to do is to check one particular product and I have the item number. The second time I have a digital gift card and there is no one at the check out unfortunately self check out does not take digital gift card and she is the only one here. And take a guess yeah she roller her eyes again and complained about why I do not have a physical card...genius do you know why it is called a digital gift card.
