DanceSport Dupont Circle: what do users think?

Jason Janke: We found Terry with only one month until our wedding day, and over just a few classes he worked with us to choreograph an elegant, yet achievable first dance for us (we came in with no prior experience). We even changed songs after our first lesson, and he was able to quickly change the style of dance to better match the different pace of song. We had fun with the resulting dance, which impressed our guests and brought out some tears. The space could occasionally get crowded with other classes going on, but it was never an issue. We were happy with everything, and enjoyed our time learning/practicing.

Adam Abramson: Terry is very knowledgeable and has good tips. It’s a fun class that I’ll definitely use at my wedding. My only gripe is that if there’s other classes going on, he’s really soft spoken so it’s hard to hear. Would recommend though! Especially if you want a choreographed dance.

Sharon Williams: Love Earl! He is a great instructor! Also love the salsa club he took us to to apply what we have learned. Looking forward to the next class!

Sam Young: Terry was great however it was very difficult to hear with two other classes happening simultaneously in the same room with their own music.

Louis L.: OMG, Terry is adorable. Clearly, he eats, sleeps and breathes everything related to dancing. I have known him to dance with students late into the evening--perhaps having a power snack in between--but never skipping a beat! He is patient and accommodating. My dance partner and I won 3 silver medals after Terry choreographed four fantastic Latin dance routines in preparation for our dance competition in 2018. I am forever grateful to Terry for his training.

John Farr: Great job of teaching the first dance wedding basics

ALL2DANCE.com: what do users think?

Sarah Close: We came in for a dance lesson three weeks before our wedding without any clue and wanting a few tips for our first dance. Victor very quickly helped us pick out a dance and tailored his instruction to the ways that we both learn best (impressive, considering he had just met us!). Victor taught us in a very humorous and compassionate manner that made the entire experience fun. He also provided a number of helpful tips and reminders for our wedding day, beyond just the first dance, that really helped us stay calm and focused. We would highly recommend ALL2DANCE to anyone, whether or not they have a wedding to prepare for- it was a great experience!

Michael Koppes: Victor was a terrific instructor. He told us he would get us there and he did. My wife and I found our weekly dance classes a great stress relief while planning our wedding!

DivaDance® DC: what do users think?

Chantale love: Before I join diva dance I was working on my confidence and I most say I’m a whole new women after joining. I learn different dance moves and met a lot of good people. I am having an amazing experience.

Dana Frund: Since moving to DC last year, joining DivaDance has been one of the best decisions I have made! I love the community feel, and all the instructors and members are so sweet and fun! If you’re looking to make friends, join a community, build confidence, or dance your worries away, this is the perfect place!

Whitney Franklin: DivaDance DC has been and AMAZING EXPERIENCE! The instructors, the culture, the support, the COMMUNITY! DivaDance has definitely helped me boost my confidence as a human being, woman, and dancer! I am grateful for DivaDance DC and look forward to future classes!!!

Breanne Stockslager: I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with DivaDance! My group did a Beyonce themed "sip and slay" class for a Bachelorette party and had a fantastic time. I would highly recommend DivaDance to anyone who wants to hold a party, event, or even just to go for a fun cardio workout! The package that we purchased came with champagne and fun decorations as well as the instructor emailing us our very own music video which is a pretty fun memory to have for a bachelorette party! The choreography is tailored to whatever level of skill your group has, ours was definitely beginner! LOL. Highly recommend!

THAT EWE GAL: I love it !! Great teachers, great energy, amazing choreographies ! Highly recommended

Cheryl Somers: It looked like a nice place only went in to check it out

Cheryl Somers: Seemed like a nice place only there for a few minutes

The Salsa With Silvia Dance Studio: what do users think?

Summer Brouwer: There’s a reason why they have 5 stars! I never had the luxury of attending dance classes. I just moved here cross country and wanted to try a new experience. I was very hesitant, and very nervous, but I bought the new student pass for $100. The pass allows you to attend unlimited group classes for the month. It’s about a week into the session and I am in love with dance! They have many different instructors and many different styles of dance. I felt at ease learning with other students of my skill level and the energy of my instructors helped me feel so comfortable as well. If you’re on the fence about whether you want to try it or not, GET OVER IT! I love it here and you will too!

Reema Bhardwaj: Salsa with Silvia is THE PLACE TO BE. Whether you’re looking to improve your dancing, rent their beautiful studio for your private event, or bring your kids for an experience. You will leave feeling satisfied and happy that you took the step to come in. There is a reason this studio is the #1 Latin Dance studio in the DMV. You can feel the love that was put into the studio from starting out in just a basement to two studios! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The teachers are patient, understanding, and energetic. The adult dance classes are always so much fun and filled with great material you can take with you. They even allow videos to be taken so you can look back to review. And the owner Silvia, she is a boss lady. Very friendly, helpful, and fun. If you’re looking to have a great time with your friends, learn, teach your children dance, or have a private event, come here & don’t waste your time calling other studios!

Zey: Salsa with Silvia is more than a dance studio. Lots of magic happens there. You’ve got all the basics- amazing instructors, good variety of classes in style and level, a professional business, and a safe and reliable environment. In addition, you learn how dancing is about much more than just moving your body. By joining the studio you enter a community, so you meet amazing people and make new friends. The owner Silvia is always engaged and she is always willing to help. I have been going to the studio for about 2 years now, and the instructor I have taken the most number of classes with is Joffre. I always had a thing for salsa, but he is the one who really made me love it. Joffre is technically very competent, and he is also a great teacher (which is not always a given). He is also a warm and genuine person, who is very open to feedback. And as a bonus, he has the best taste in music, I learned the best songs/ artists I know from him. In short, if you are interested in entering the world of latin dancing, SWS is the place for you!

Marcia de Jesus: I joined Salsa with Silvia in its Georgia Avenue location in January of 2018. During the first 5-6 months of 2018, I was at the studio pretty much every weeknight and all day on Saturday. The studio offers an unlimited-class plan, and you bet I signed up for that and took full advantage of it. My plan of taking as many classes as possible in a short amount of time to improve my dancing skills fast was one of the reasons why I was at the studio all the time when I first joined. The other reason was the people I found there – and they are the reason I keep going to this day. Incredible human beings have worked at SWS over the years, who have helped me feel comfortable as I engaged in a new and at times challenging activity. Among the front-office people, I must give a shout out to Gary. For a long time, he was the face of SWS for me, the person I reached out to if I needed anything. I miss you at the Georgia Avenue location! Among the instructors, I’m sorry for picking favorites (all instructors are great in their own way), but Joffre has always been my guy. Not only is Joffre a very good dancer, but he is also an excellent instructor. He knows how to break down and explain the moves (including teaching how to respect personal space and make sure nobody gets hurt while executing moves); he meets the students where they are (skill-wise) so nobody feels discouraged nor bored; and he tries to make sure everyone is having fun as they work on their dance skills. I felt challenged in Joffre’s classes, but also reassured whenever things got difficult and potentially frustrating. He has certainly helped me become a better dancer and I am grateful for that! Finally, SWS is the place where I found a safe, fun, open community and made very good friends. SWS has become a part of my life, a place I associate with happy things!

Darniesha Beach: Took my 2 year old to the babies dance class and the teacher was great. Very good with little ones and my daughter took to her immediately. The class was empty just 2 little ones including mine... but she still managed to fill the time and make it fun. Everything was very clean and location is nice if you want to make a day of it. My only complaint is the time; my daughter has to skip a nap to attend. She was super cranky so I don’t think we’ll be back until a different time slot is available or she no longer needs her afternoon nap. A class between 9&12 or at 5 would be cool.

Ryan Delcher: Positive: Communication, ProfessionalismThe Dance Place Studio team is awesome to work with! I worked with Sarah G at Dance Place for a special event they hosted. She was friendly, professional, and a great communicator! Highly recommend this Studio and their team!

Janine Hightower: The variety of performances that pass through this place is mind-blowing 🤯! A cultural experience for all. Many of the performances offer audience participation/interaction. Tickets are reasonably priced, nice variety of snacks. Also you can often meet performance members after show! Clean bathrooms, friendly and organized staff. Be prepared to give written feedback...😉

dipika: Dance Place is one of my favorite establishments in DC, period. Their site schedule is diverse and offers something for everyone and they really focus on local talent which is special. The classes are also great, quite varied, and the space is good for beginning and intermediate class.

Daniel Burkholder: Dance Place is the premier performance space for dance in the DC region with performances almost every weekend ranging from Modern to Post-Modern, World Dances to Performance Art. Highlights include annual Dance Africa, DC festival as well as its complete season of regional, national and international artists. Dance Place also offers a range of classes for adults and youth from beginning to professional. A great place!

Séber Method Academy: what do users think?

Nikita Rao: This dance school is a real find for drop in classes for dance for adults. I would highly recommend Adriane and Kay as they are the two teachers I use for tap classes. They are excellent teachers, thorough with their teachings and very amicable and friendly. I have also met some lovely fellow adult tappers at these classes. I love the concept of drop in classes which, maybe encourages more adults to learn a method of dance without fully committing to a session made up of many weeks. *Remaining message removed per request*

Riley Lewis-Jones: I absolutely love the studio- I’ve been going here for years, everyone is very welcoming and it’s a great environment to dance in! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to take classes, regardless of experience. I especially love the Belly Dance classes and being a part of the Youth Company, Raqs Habibi

Angela Ingram: Great classes an excellent training.

Anastasia Wass: Great teachers and a welcoming environment!

DC DanceSport Academy: what do users think?

Alina Trifonova: I am very pleased with the Dance Sport Academy services. My 3 y.o. daughter is taking baby ballet classes with Ms. Vera, who is exceptional in professionalism and communicating with small kids. Her lessons are diversified in the types of activities and movements and geared towards accommodating the needs of the little ones, introducing them to the world of dance and music. Great experience! If you have an active toddler, I strongly recommend classes with the DC DanceSport Academy, and especially with Ms. Vera!

Sophia Jones: This studio provides some of the highest quality dance training I have ever experienced due to the expert instruction. I have trained with Lydia for many years and cannot wait to come back to classes in person! Highly recommend to anyone interested in trying ballroom or looking to advance their practice.

Monique Kramer: I absolutely LOVE this dance studio!! The group classes and instructors are top quality. Lydia, the owner, is friendly, cheerful, positive, and very patient. She is always bringing new ideas to the studio via workshops, guest instructors, special events, and show cases. Katie and the rest of the staff are always pleasant. I wish I could spend my entire day here!!

JUDY JAMES: DC DanceSport Academy provides quality instruction to all levels of dancers in a lovely and professional studio. Highly recommend this studio for all those wanting to learn to dance, regardless of age and dance experience, but especially for the serious dancers who are involved in competing and performing. Lydia organizes several elite workshops, and dance camps a year for both adult students and for her much younger students, and brings in the best world champions to teach at these workshops. The group classes offered are exceptional, ranging from basic technique classes to more advanced master classes, and practice rounds. Lydia is an amazing, encouraging, enthusiastic, technical, and talented teacher, and what I love most about Lydia, is that she never stops learning and growing as an instructor. Whether it’s a private lesson with Lydia, or participating in a group class, watching Lydia’s body movements, and her flair for styling, is inspirational for me. As a woman, learning from a woman is equally important for me. Lydia will make you feel beautiful and special, while inspiring you to move your body in ways you never thought possible.

bob Hsieh: The very best of learning experience with a world class instructors. Additional visits for seminars by other world class dancers. I feel lucky and happy to be part of Lydia’s teaching world. My fellow students all love her and the teaching we get.

Greater Washington Dance Center: what do users think?

The Mills Family: GWDC is a wonderful dance home for any family. Our daughter loves her teachers and classes and they always challenge her to grow. We are thankful for the healthy attitudes about body image, strength and diversity that are present at the studio. Our daughter looks up to the older dancers who are great role models. The performance opportunities, especially the Nutcracker, are something our daughter looks forward to every year.

Dawn Tucker: My daughter, now 6, has been a part of the GWDC family for a couple years. They are inclusive, supportive, and a wonderful studio to be a part of. The owner and teachers are professional and work with children no matter the goals. We are proud to be a part of this community and feel very lucky for my daughter to have started here so young.

John Setlik: Our daughter has attended GWDC now for 3 years, entering at an awkward age with not particularly strong dance experience. Within a year, Gretchen and her staff had turned her around with noticeable improvement. They have been positive, supportive, and inclusive in such a way that our daughter LOVES attending her multiple classes each week. Being a busy high school student, Gretchen was very kind about working with difficult schedules. It’s also very clear that student safety is a top priority as training is taken very seriously before students are allowed to advance. Along with the ballet instruction, the modern and tap classes are excellent as well. If you’re looking for dance instruction at any age, we would highly recommend checking out GWDC!

Meg V: This is such a wonderful studio! The quality of instruction is superb, but most importantly it is a loving, encouraging, and kind family of dancers for all ages and levels.

Caitlin Vives: GWDC is an absolute haven for my sparkly, ballet-loving son. GWDC is an inclusive, welcoming, HEALTHY dance studio that offers all dancers a place to grow and flourish on their dance journey. If you have a son who is interested in dance, THIS is the place to be. GWDC values all of their dancers, but the male dancers here are not just an afterthought. The studio has various classes devoted to helping the male dancers hone their skills. The camaraderie among the ballerinos is absolutely gorgeous. You cannot ask for a better set of role models and companions for your son. The director is warm, welcoming, and holds high expectations rooted unequivocally in love for not just dance but each dancer. The inclusive and hospitable environment at GWDC comes from the top down. Every teacher cares. Every single one. If you want to offer your child a place where they can safely be themselves and pursue/find not just their love of dance but of themselves, come to GWDC. And if you do join us, come say, "Hi!" We GWDC parents are a friendly lot :)

Amanda King: GWDC has amazing teachers! We love Ms Julianne, she is patient and kind, especially with a room of 5 year old beginning ballerinas. Highly recommend this studio, especially for young dancers.

Crown Dance Studio: what do users think?

Austin Chang: Abraham and Regina are excellent teachers. They are very friendly and accommodating to new dancers. The group lessons and social dancing offered at this studio are a lot of fun and are a great value. I would recommend attending them, even if you take classes and/or dance elsewhere.

Elena Filimonova: This is not ONE of the best studios, this IS the best! Abraham is the instructor from God, has a great team! I never thought I would take up dancing.... Everything is well structured, well organised and punctual. Everyone is SUPER friendly! For a beginner it is very important not to step away because the body does not have that movement memory yet...CROWN DANCE studio definitely will be best for the beginners! (BUT not only!) They teach you to ENJOY dancing, not just steps. The decision to join the CROWN DANCE STUDIO was one of my best! 101 percent recommend it to all! All the world!

John Hanna: We worked with Allison for our wedding. She was great! Had a lot of fun and lots of laughs along the way. Very patient and we feel so ready. Highly recommend.

Richard Ortegon: Crown dance studio hosts great lessons for beginners and intermediate dancers. My wife has been attending for about a year and when I attended recently I felt that the transition from small understandable moves to a full routine by the end of the class felt very rewarding. I have attended the salsa and bachata classes and recommend other people curious about starting to dance to come and try it out.

Veta Bakhtina: Positive: Communication, QualityMe and my partner had a blast at our first Bachata private lesson with Nick and an excellent followup group class after. Super glad to have done the private lesson first as we are beginners to this form. Taking home a great start on basics. Fun environment, great communication and easy going class! Highly recommend!

Emi Vi: The instructors At Crown Dance Studio are professionals! They love their job, and teaching others no matter what their level is.They are super welcoming. They make you feel part of the team right away. Honestly, I am not getting pay or have anything to gain for reviewing/giving my opinion for this business. I have nothing, but positive things to say. I cannot recommend this Dancing studio enough for their level of professionalism. I recommend anyone to go, and check it out for yourself just like I was recommended by a friend. I would not be surprise if you love it like me too .If you do not, I respect that too. It would be nice to hear/read your opinion as well. Fun fact, I am just a beginner dancer student.

Andrew Riggi: I went for my first ever bachata/salsa group dance class and left buying private lessons. Noelia and Regina know their stuff! Both very passionate and want to see you succeed. Check this place out!

Balbina Vilorio: Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, ValueMy husband and I visited several studios in the area and took intro classes. Crown Dance Studio always felt the most welcoming, we love the atmosphere and the very bright personalities. Allison made me feel so comfortable and at ease, I laughed and danced my way into more lessons :)

Pole Pressure: what do users think?

Miss Candace: I have enjoyed my pole journey here. The instructors are encouraging and knowledgeable and I have found the classes to be fun of the type of positive energy I need to get my feet off the ground. There are a variety of options for all levels & they offer private and virtual lessons as well. The price is worth it. I’d definitely recommend joining this studio if you’re looking to build your skills or your confidence.

Frances Raybaud: Pole Pressure is full of teachers who are gracious, patient, skilled, and keep things lighthearted while putting me through the most exercise I’ve ever done in my life! I have so much fun in every class- I just hope they expand their class offerings to more in the evenings to accommodate more working stiffs like me! :D

S.M. P.: Awesome pole studio! The instructors are good and there are a variety of teaching styles too. I love that I can attend classes online from the other side of the USA too! VERY reasonably priced and lots of classes to pick from. SO GLAD I FOUND THIS PLACE!

Anndria Thomas: Best time ever, thank you all so much for helping make our bachelorette trip amazing!!! The girls, the bride and I absolutely loved it. The instructor was amazing. I will definitely recommend you guys and I will be returning!!!

Indya Heyward: Didn’t get a chance to dance. had a open session w/o instructor and due their late policy weren’t able to get in. W/o refund or credit if you are some one who is late or it’s an accident/ parking issue/ life just turn around and save the hassle as no one will be available at the locked door. May be a good experience but I wouldn’t know. Not sure if I’ll risk going back as I’ve already lost my initial amount for class. Smart. but seems like a ploy for money. Update: was given a voucher and enjoyed my open session. was able to play my own music and rock out recommend just BE ON TIME…

Massimiliano Bissa: Before starting my experience at pole pressure I used to go to other pole studios. Pole pressure is definitely better for many reasons. I particularly appreciate the many classes available that cover all the levels, from beginner to advanced, whereas other studios have only few choices. It may be a little bit more expensive than other but you are sure to have your pole without sharing it with other 2/3 people. Instructors are amazing... Really well trained and they follow all the people in the class to help them, and also very supportive. So far my favorite studio on DC!

Stephanie Patrice: Well all I can say is “it’s worth every penny” this is my 3rd try of trying to find a class during covid and in the past 2 weeks I’ve learned more and became a lot more confident in myself. I love the diversity of the teachers and learning different techniques and routines. The library is a plus!

Cara Weathers: Amazing studio! Super fun instructors and warm welcoming students :)
