CVS: what do users think?

Tracey Lawhorne: First all they have is basics. If you need a compound you can forget it. Then they take lunches and close down in the middle of the day. So if you thought 1:30 pm you’d pick up your prescription -you not !!! Come back after 2. And one lady back there was going to help but the pharmacist said no.. we on break!! Never again !!!

Shelley Castle: The phone system for the pharmacy is awful with far extraneous information being given between options. When you FINALLY get the option to actually talk to a pharmacist, it hangs up on you. No matter how many times you call back, this keeps happening and there are no other options to get hold of anyone.

S G: I am mortified that I have to transfer my Rx here. I had a miserable experience trying to transfer the them; a worse experience trying to acquire them, and had some of the dumbest conversations I’ve ever had. Please, if you can avoid this pharmacy, try to do so. They get two stars because at least two of the employees were trying.

Kia Hairston: I wish I can give it no stars. The employee Kimberly was very rude and disrespectful to not only me but a elderly. The elderly cough yes we know it’s Covid how ever the way she handle this was very very rude. She sprayed the gentleman with Lysol spray. Rushed him and yelled at him in the line. She called me over to get checked out but the elderly was still trying to gather his belongings so I told her I will come once he’s gone from her register. She got upset and called for the next person behind me. I was so mad. How can you be so rude to someone who had to be 60 and over then get upset with a 27 year old is giving that elder the respect of not rushing him. Needless to say I called and of course a manager is never available. Never again would I come to this store. I’m still looking for a corporate number.

Shuqi Zhao: I have been having pleasant experience with this CVS for months until I met a mean manager this morning. She only applied 2 out of 4 Pantene hair coupon and was inpatient when I check the coupons. Later on when I came back to redeem the $10 cash card with another cashier, that cashier had to call her 3 times asking her to come to the front and give the card to me. She said I could use the bar code as ExtraBuck Reward so I don’t need the card. Then she argued with the cashier and reluctantly gave me the card. In the end, after the cashier removed the bar code (for the cash card) and returned the rest of the receipt to me, she didn’t pay attention to us and shouted to the cashier don’t give me the bar code. Overall she was very unprofessional and disrespectful. I’d rather go to the King Street CVS for better service although this one the way closer to my house.

Katherine Previch-Liu: I went to this CVS to pick up photos I had ordered online. The cashier said they never received them. After placing the order again and showing her the details, she said she still wasn't receiving the order. Her exact words were "idk... I can't help you". When I questioned how CVS could offer printing to the store from online order and it not be available. She said I could order from the kiosk there. The price was triple what I was being offered online. I asked if there was someone she could call because obviously there was an issue between the site and store and something wasn't working. She proceeded to help other customers. Like ??? I waited for 40 minutes. In that time I asked the other cashier if she could get the manager to assist me. I was ignored. The other cashier returned over to me and again said she didn't know what to do because the order wasn't showing up in their system. Again she suggested the kiosk. I told her I didn't want to order through the kiosk because it was triple the price and why should I have to pay that when I already ordered online and selected same day store pick up with an online promotion that saved me money. She offered one sheet. The one sheet would have gotten me 9 photos for the same price as the online promotion that would've gotten me 32 photos. She said there was nothing she could do. Again I asked if there was anyone she could call. It wasn't until I proceeded to make a scene that she finally said she would call the manager. I said that'd be great because maybe he could figure this out. The response I got was that her manager wasn't at the store, he was at home. How can you manage a store from your house? Needless to say, nothing was resolved and I ended walking out without my photos. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECIEVED!!!!!

DAFCP C: Horrible CVS. Worst service ever. Manager guy (think he is from Ethiopia) has no clue what he is doing completely clueless and rude

Cam C.: Pretty bad CVS. Not sure about the Pharmacy; but 1 out of 3 items I pick-up to buy ends up with a different price at the register. I have the CVS card too. No one can ever explain, I put back the item or just pay the extra. Avoid.

Melissa Russell: This is the closest drug store to me so I keep hoping for a better experience and I don't get it. The service is generally very slow and inefficient. Clerks aren't able to answer basic questions like what are the pharmacy hours.

Paul Shumer: Very good location that I used and visited many times. I know they are sometime very busy so it takes them 10 minutes to help, but they are doing a great work at this CVS.

CVS: what do users think?

Ethan L: They closed the store earlier than the posted time. I arrived 15 min b4 11pm and the shutter was down. There are a few other patrons complaining of the same.

John H.: Came by almost a full hour after their posted opening time, shutters still down, lights off.

A D: Walked from hotel to have them close the metal gate and give us the cut throat signal that they are closed at 5:52p.m. on a Saturday. Certainly an odd time to close and not the hours posted . Would it hurt to let us in and request that we be quick? Agree with previous comments about poor customer service. Also wish I could give zero stars.

Beth Carter: Excellent and efficient service! I struggled with a few pharmacies in the area before I figured out that this one is the only one who regularly keeps my medication in stock, charges me in the most convenient way, and they even notified me when something was unusual in my prescription (my doctor accidentally prescribed me for an old medication that isn’t covered by my insurance, and they called me within half an hour to verify the situation). The rest of the CVS is a step above other in the area too, with everything being clean and well stocked. Everybody inside, from pharmacy staff to the cashiers up front are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable!

Tom Macellaro: Very friendly and helpful staff.

Sparsh Gupta: Terrible service, terrible people. Do not go to this CVS. One of the staff members was on my tail 30 seconds into going into to store about finding something to checkout. I asked him about what I needed and he was over my shoulder the entire time. When I finally checked out, he asked the cashier: “did he pay for that?” Appalling, truly.

D. Joe Szabo: A good pick for non-prescribed drugs as well as for dry snacks or emergency food. Too bad most discounts are only valid for CVS card owners, thus excludin non-US people. Excellent location, self-checkout stands.

Sonia S: Horrible. Cancelled my vaccine without letting me know but didn’t cancel it in the system so I can’t get one somewhere else. Wont pick up the phone when I call to get help.

Nikki Q: The manager, observed me shopping for cold and allergy medicine (watching me, as if I was going to steal something). After approximately 12-15 minutes of ready multiple "paper tags", I proceeded to the pharmacy. Please note that the pharmacy is closed on Sunday. Now, this is the first time that I've ever encountered a CVS Pharmacy( emphasis on pharmacy) that has NO hours on Sunday. Secondly, as opposed to watching me, perhaps you could've offered to help me; better yet, advise me that I wouldn't be able to purchase any sinus decongestant because the pharmacy is closed. Clearly, it's of my error to assume that all CVS stores have an open pharmacy on Sunday. I'm simply taken aback at the lack of "customer service" from the manager. The self service area was staffed with a friendly gentleman, whose presence seemed redundant ( I had to scan my own items to pay for them). He was the only friendly staff member to greet me.

Dani Hristova (Danixoxohri): Great selection could be more organized

CVS: what do users think?

Courtenay O'Connell: This is a huge CVS with accommodating, friendly staff. My 40% off coupon expired today, so I purchased an eye product I needed. Edward helped me check out since the 40% off coupon did not come up with self checkout. Husband used his CVS card to purchase the White Castle burgers. They were even cheaper with his reward bucks. Edward helped him, too! Great experience for both of us.

Your Helpful Wendy: Thank you very much to the staff and the CVS because my son and I got to this location The moment they were closing and they open the doors just for us to get what we needed. We just got back from a trip and the only thing we really need it was water. Everything as a regular CVS had the prices, deal with all the products I am used to own a CVS, and the lady charged us quick.

Rawaz Mutabchi: I had Urgent Care send over my prescription to the CVS pharmacy. They closed early that evening so I was not able to prescription and the day after they did not have pharmacist so they decided to keep the pharmacy closed and not feel anyone's prescription. This is very disappointing, when you have a pharmacy people depend on you for their time sensitive prescriptions.

Sarah A: Renetta (working at 5:39 Sunday, March 13) was possibly the most horrifically rude employee to a non-English speaking customer. In the most aggressive and condescending tone, Renetta yelled (like actually yelled because other people looked over to see what was happening), “can’t you read” to the customer when they asked why they couldn’t pay with cash at self check out. The self check out had a “No Cash” sign above it (but not in any other language). It was evident the customer did not speak English well - they were even using the Spanish mode on the self-checkout register. I’m leaving this cvs feeling sick over Renatta’s blatant lack of empathy and willingness to humiliate a customer so quickly. All they asked for was help paying with cash. They should not have been humiliated over such a simple request.

Nickolas: This pharmacy is terrible. Takes them days to fill scripts and are closed on the weekends. I have had issues everytime I go here. After 10 years of using CVS pharmacies I’m going elsewhere

Grace: Do NOT get photos printed here- they came out completely the wrong colors and very blurry. Don't waste your time/money!

Mary Miller: Google says open until 10 PM. walked here to find they were closed at 8:30 PM

Mercedes Brygider: If I could give them ZERO stars I would. The pharmacy has posted hours they don’t abide by so when your dr calls in a prescription because it’s life or death medication I can’t get it filled at another pharmacy because it’s in process with the insurance company. I would have never chosen to use this location to have it filled if they actually abided by their posted hours. Pharmacy hours for everyone going to this location are posted as 9am-6pm, note posted on the closed pharmacy window, we will open later than usual; when you ask the only cashier that works there what time they open: go to the CVS down the street we don’t open on the weekends.

Michele L Watley: The pharmacy staff was disrespectful and provided poor customer service. The guy in the pharmacy at the counter was condescending and beyond rude and to be this way during the crisis our nation is going through is uncalled for. The store was absolutely filthy, milk crates everywhere, food on the floor, product misplaced and thrown about. I will NEVER shop at this location again and would not recommend this store to anyone to shop at.

Bei Heir: Hmmm , this is the most recent experience that is posted here, so here we go ! Staff were very helpful when we first walked in. I waited at the walk-in clinic for about 2 mins before being called. I am not sure what this cvs looked like on a regular day before the covid... However, my experience was just fine. This cvs is gigantic compared to the ones I have shopped in. I did not want to stay any longer only because I probably would get stuck shopping !

CVS: what do users think?

Kathleen Tedford: If you are sick and thinking to use the MinuteClinic - DO NOT DO IT! The medical assistant that works in that clinic is one of the most inappropriate unprofessional employees I have ever come into contact. I went in for a COVID treatment only to be lectured because I scheduled the wrong appointment. I apologized and requested a COVID test only to be given more attitude and lectured again. When I started coughing, this lady then was like "the nurse might not see you since you are coughing". Ultimately, she refused to test me and was very unprofessional. The nurse came out to apologize, but the damage was already done, I ended up leaving and went to an urgent care. DO BETTER CVS, read your reviews, this place gets few stars. Total rubbish - I have called corporate and hope they will listen.

Courtney Carroll: Worst pharmacy experience ever. Wasn’t helped for 10 mins but looked at multiple times. When asked if I needed help, I responded yes but they just ignored me again. Then when I was finally helped, she just told me it was out of stock. If that happens elsewhere, I am usually suggested another pharmacy or told they would order my prescription. Rudest people ever. Never going back to this location and wouldn’t recommend that anyone does.

Louretta Nel: Went upstairs, asked one of the young ladies to assist us with having passport photos taken. If her looks could kill, she would've set us on fire, for interrupting her! She did however, call another lady to help us, who was so unenthusiastic and lethargic about it, we got the impression that we were inconveniencing her. A serious attitude adjustment is needed amongst staff. 👎🏻Fine in a pinch but would still recommend finding an alternate CVS.

Eddies: This CVS is very busy 24 hour store which functions as a drug store, mini food mart, and mini department store, since the neighborhood is seriously lacking all three. As such, the inventory is relatively decent. But unfortunately like most urban CVS stores the service here is ATROCIOUS. They never have enough cashiers on duty because they now divert people to "self checkout" and the cashiers they do have on duty are slow, lazy and rude. I avoid this place as much as possible.

J Foodgeek: The pharmacy at this location can be very busy but also is disorganized. Sometimes an actual person will call you to ask if you want to fill your prescription and then when you show up to pick it up they tell you that it's too early to renew it...so why did they call you? Or they will keep telling you to come back tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow for an RX without telling you it's not covered by your insurance. Or you will renew several prescriptions through the phone system and it tells you they'll be ready in a couple of hours but when you show up the next day, only two of the three are filled and you have to wait. Small store, two floors which is inconvenient. Avoid going anywhere near their set half hour lunch because it gets really busy before and after.

Khoi Nguyen: 24 hour CVS. Staff here is really friendly. You get the occasional drunk folks stroll in throughout the evening and they do a great job at keeping the store clean

savage_G: I went in for a sandwich from the cold bar and a sprite.,..when I got distracted by a big bag of pistachios I knew I didn't wanna carry them and it was more then I wanted to spend (mentioned that last part to a woman who works there)🙂😆 and tell me why she up-sold me, by down-selling me, she showed me the smaller (still a nice size) bag of pistachios and I absolutely could not say no Yesenia Rivera at store 01347 is great, ⭐✨💥 Best sales person I've encountered at cvs that I can remember

Lorenzo: I came to shop at this CVS, as I'm walking into the store I seen and heard the store manager the lady with the glasses on she African called for Security two times. as soon as he get the the heads up about me (I guess she wanted him to watch/follow me around the store) Im looking for the dove soap, the Security guard walked up to me asking me is everything okay. I told him yes where is the dove soap he walked me to the area he let me get what I needed then told me I normally don't let you guys take the product around the store I then said okay sir you can leave it up front so when Im ready to check out I'll get it. He decided to walk behind me making me feel uncomfortable so then I went to check out to have the same store manager who called security to watch me doing my visit. she stand behind as the guy ringing me up I would never come back to this store and this is not the first time I been prejudice by the lady who run the store down to the employees.

C C: Seriously rude staff member named Ali (not sure of the spelling). Was waiting with another shopper at some tables near the bathroom and he came and told us we were not allowed to wait there. Another staffer asked him why he was making us leave, and whether we should be allowed to wait, and use the restroom, he said no. Then he walked away. No explanation for denying us access and service. I completed my purchase and left the store. All the other staff members were polite and helpful.

Michael Q: Best CVS to purchase any medicine and receive medical services, they have two floors of medical supplies, covering basically anything that you're looking for, and the service I received is absolutely the best among all CVS. Be careful to walk in and expect the same service from a private doctor, because you will just be unnecessarily disappointed.

CVS: what do users think?

T. Roberts: The employees forget they’re at work! Don’t go to this location if you want great or even good customer service. I walked in when they opened this morning (05/19/22) and they just looked at me as if I was lost. No one greeted me. I had to almost chase one of the employees down just to be helped and walked up to the counter to complete my transaction to find two having a full conversation and continued when they saw me walk up. I had to interject to get the one behind the counter to ring me up. Great location for convenience, horrible customer service.

F W: Joe, the manager of this particular pharmacy went out of his way to order my grandma’s much needed medication, which I went many different pharmacies to fill….. was initially given the run around, dismissive employees, or none NONE had the medicine in stock, in which they said would take over a WEEK to be delivered. Joe actually took the time to LISTEN to my plight and frustration, as I drive from over an hour away to help her pick up, as she is now slowing down so much she is basically bedridden Joe, had iit delivered and ready for her THE NEXT DAY. Thank you sir, your hard work does NOT go unnoticed. In the future i will always go directly to you, because you obviously care about your job, and your community. Love always

Aiman Khan: Ammar is the worst pharmacist ever. He doesn't treat the customers well. He's arrogant and doesn't know how to do his job well. Whenever I go to pick up medications, he gives the incorrect doses. Last week he said he gave me 60 pills but the bottle had only 10. He shows me a picture of 60 pills he had for me. Thank goodness I saved the bottle that had the quantity written down. He still wanted me to pay for the 50 pills he misplaced. Does he not want to own up to his mistakes? He's very rude and disrespectful. He claims "I can't let you see your medication list it's the stores". Really??? He always gives me fewer pills and I'm wondering what he's doing with the leftover pills...hmmmm. I hope he's not saving them for himself! I've never had an issue with the other pharmacists, only AMMAR.

J Heather: Most reviews referenced horrible customer service— totally agree. You will get an attitude for simple things: I wanted a cash back and said I needed to use the automated machine (clearly it stated no cash back on the machine). Then, pointed at the atm (but the machine charges a fee). Then, showed the attitude when the staff was forced to ring me on the machine. I guess some people just don’t have customer service skills.

Olivia Panaski: I’ve always had a really good experience with CVS pharmacy but the pharmacist at this location was incredibly rude, unhelpful, and condescending. If you hate your job that much, maybe find a new one buddy.

Volodymyr Babich: Pharmacy used to be good. But it looks like Dustin is gone and the new pharmacist does not know how to run a store. I heard her berate/argue with a customer whether a prescription has been picked up. She was very rude. The line to pick up prescriptions was 7 customers long, but out of 4 people working in the pharmacy only one was actually serving customers. The staff did not seem comfortable operating the checkout. The pharmacist had her mask on her chin the entire time. Ironic because she was surrounded by posters showing how to wear a mask correctly. I will avoid this pharmacy in the future.

Vanessa J Panaligan: I am livid at their poor excuse for customer service. I had an appt for a flu shot tonight, but I was turned away because they ran out. I had scheduled this online and got confirmation and all but no notification that they had run out! They didn’t even apologize. I then checked with other CVS locations, and they said you have to have an appt. Well, geez! I had one, but I got dismissed! Thanks for wasting my time!

Darragh Joyce: Avoid it like the plague. Workers are so rude and unhelpful. One person made me wait for her to finish texting before ringing me up. Kind of funny now that I think about it, but also, i want to checkout and go home! This location has been rotting now for many years and it may take a quadruple bypass to save it.

Matt Magill: Worst pharmacy I have ever been to. Hands down. Workers do not wear masks and they are extremely rude. Waited 30 minutes to get a flu shot that I made an appointment for. Pharmacist said I can wait another 30 minutes or leave. I left and will never return

Julian Hunt: What happened to the old staff? Looks like a corporate reshuffle to understaff and squeeze out more profit. The new staff is lazy, slow and inattentive. Big line just gave up as the attendant preferred stocking the shelves to serving pick-up customers. Is this a corporate strategy to downsize and force customers to unreliable “home delivery”?

CVS: what do users think?

Xander Hazel-Groux: I dont usually leave reviews, but the pharmacist was unmasked and actively coughing. I then was told they don't carry the medication I was prescribed, but it was very heavily implied in tone and language that they just weren't comfortable filling my prescription. I was going to let it go, until I read the other reviews online of this CVS and that the disrespect I experienced is very common.

Laura Martin: The pharmacist here injected my arm with a syringe of air instead of the COVID vaccine by mistake. They consistently lose prescriptions or say things aren’t covered by my insurance to later find out they are. Just one of the worst CVS experiences I’ve ever had.

Elisha Bridges: Worst CVS I was in line at 1:25. They take there lunch break at 1:30 a CVS staff seen me in line and the pharmacy closed on me. I haven't had my meds in 5 days and they keep playing games I was told my meds will be ready on April 1st. And they then told me to come back on the 2nd. They need customer service training big time.

Andrew Bourgeois: If you want to spend 45 minutes to an hour on hold with the pharmacy just to have them hang up on you (this happened FREQUENTLY), this is the place for you. If you want them to lose track of scripts, and make your doctor play phone tag with them for 3 days, this is the pharmacy for you. Honestly, I'll be switching, I just chose this place because they were my only choice at the time. Otherwise... STAY AWAY

Crystal Venable: The store is clean this particular CVS on Columbia Heights needs more workers good customer service

Ben Royer: This pharmacy has the worst customer service. Long waits, inefficient operations, and a filthy store. I rarely fill my meds here because it’s absolutely absurd how poorly it is run. Stay far away. Far, far away. There are plenty of other pharmacies in the area. Go there.

Ashara Media: It is impossible to get somebody to talk on the phone at the pharmacy. Long line to pick up orders at the pharmacy. Workers look they are overworked, as a result they hardly have customer interaction. This place a lot of attention from workers, or needs more workers, or good management.

Victoria Slatton: Use any pharmacy but this pharmacy. I have had issues with them for years. I got a notice to call them this week. I did 3 times and each time was on hold for over an hour. Finally, I called the front end and begged them to tell the pharmacy to answer the phone. After two hours I was able to get through and the pharmacist laughed at me when I said it's been incredibly difficult to get ahold of them. Three times in the past I have been told my prescription is ready. When I have gone in, it was not there. Several times Earlier this year they were so late getting my prescription (over two weeks because it was lost in the mail) I had extreme side effects. It took me days on the phone with them and many tears until they worked with me to override my insurance and refill it. That was the time the pharmacist told me to calm down when I was describing my side-effects. I am switching. I will never use them again. They are inefficient, unprofessional, and frankly really cruel.

Charles-Stephen Laubhouet: Quick visit but i found what i needed! Remember not to park on the side of the road thats a ticket ! Cashiers are cool and location is convenient

Arlett Martinez: Worst pharmacy. The lady who took my prescription told me it will be ready with in an hour. I come back an hour and a half after just to find out that my prescription is not ready and I have to wait one more hour. And the lady in the back is rolling her eyes, when she gets pay to so her job. I would suggest to the manager to pay attention to all the complaints and reviews. All these people cannot be wrong if you keep getting the same complaints over and over again.

CVS: what do users think?

Chris Aresu: Struggles filling simple prescriptions. They’re never ready for pickup, even when I’m told over the phone or text that they’re ready for pick up. Staff seems perpetually under resourced. Nobody is ever available to pick up the phone, so calling ahead to sort out any issues is impossible. CVS in general is garbage compared to other pharmacies, but this location is in a special tier of awful.

SARO in D.C: Extremely low product selection and stock availability on a consistent basis but if Jai is there, you'll get outstanding customer service. I was shopping one a day when the store had no shopping bags and she assisted me with getting the order to the car with a huge smile! 5 stars for Jai!!! Anytime I'm shopping and she's in the store she goes above and beyond to help me find replacements for things that are not in stock. So my rating is a 1 for the store and a 5 for Jai.

Tyler Hayes: Staff here is completely lazy and not willing to assist, meanwhile the shelves are left nearly empty and they close their doors way earlier than when they state their open till. This place desperately needs some new management

Alejandra Panchi: I was calling from a dental office to call in a prescription for a patient, i was on hold for almost 30minutes. These employees can’t seem to multitask and it’s very inconvenient. Eventually I hung up. Please do better, lucky the clinics near by are keeping this place in business.

Tracy Latoya Press: Why does no one EVER answer the phone....ever. I really hate this pharmacy. The employees are also terribly lazy and rude.

Ariel Neumann: The non-pharmacy staff are so polite and kind; I have nothing negative to say about them. BUT the pharmacist was in my personal opinion (and the opinion of other unsatisfied customer around me) was a nightmare. I came for my scheduled Covid vaccine because appointments are required - I get there and I am told she will not check me in because she is the only person there so she won't be doing the vaccine appointments today. I said I understand and she is busy and I am willing until they close today (2+ hours until she has a free moment). She then says I can just walk in another time and I told her it says appointment only on the gigantic sign in front of both of our faces and I tried two other walk ins today at different locations and got turned away for no appointment. She then walked away from me. My issue here isn't with the fact she was busy - I totally understand but the vaccine takes less than 5 minutes and Covid is a bit serious so brushing off customers needing vaccines who have appointments is unprofessional at minimum. The pharmacist was so rude and incompetent it is almost impressive - incompetent meaning her job is to give vaccines during vaccine appointments and she refused and I can only guess she didn't give vaccines to the three remaining appointment slots following mine today as well.

gloria johnson: I’m come to this cvs occasionally and it never improves to much security not enough regular workers plus there shelves are never stocked

Jackson S: This place is beyond frustratingly bad, and to the point of comically bad. You can't help but laugh at the pure distillation of apathy that this establishment embodies. It appears as though the shelves were last stocked in 1993, and probably last cleaned before then. The pharmacy was the only reasonably functioning department and almost warranted bringing the overall rating up to two stars. Almost.

D'Amata Lee: They cold drinks are always half empty. Employees in there playing around instead filling the cooler with more drinks including waters. Knowing it’s hot outside and people would be buying up the beverages. This is always an issue. Totally unacceptable. Management needs to get involved . Walked pass several employees.. none of the greeted me. They just walked passed and didn’t say anything. This store has poor customer service.

Joseph Foster: Worst pharmacy service I've experienced, wait on hold for 45 min then speak with unhelpful rude pharmacy staff that hangs up on you. If you can, go to a different pharmacy.

CVS: what do users think?

Will Beale: Pharmacy has very poor customer service. Attempted to pick up prescribed medicine on three different occasions. Each time was turned away because pharmacists could not process payment. To make matters worse, not even cordial or apologetic about its lack of execution. Not worth the effort of returning a fourth time. Better off at Walgreens.

Bonsita: By far one of the worst experiences of my life. Another store asked them to put my medication on hold, which was another issue. They told me it would be ready today but never processed my refill. I drove from VA to DC. Paid $14 for parking. It was not on hold and the pharmacist couldn’t figure out how to bill through the discount card. He told me he couldn’t help me, I needed to wait 2 hours, and he wasn’t calling the other store because he was too busy. I ended up having to leave without the medication. I tried to call the original store and no one ever picked up the phone. I proceeded to call other pharmacies ( Walgreens,Giant, Walmart) and while they didn’t have it, at least they picked up the phone to answer my questions. Transferring my script ASAP. The customer service at this CVS was garage. I will be filing a complaint

Miss Miracles: Very rude. Attempted to get my prescription but they claimed system down. The next day I called they said the same thing.. had meds transferred to another location

Dennis Gonzalez: They seem constantly understaffed. When they tell you something will be ready in 30 mins or an hour, it won’t be. We’ve come multiple times and when they tell you it will be ready, they constantly need additional time if they actually process your request. I’d advise you to drop off your prescription or call to see that it’s being processed than pick it up in a day or two to guarantee it will be ready.

Zombie2020: Really bad customer service and unprofessional. Two characteristics that you don't want your pharmacy to have, they have it in abundance.

Tyrie Jenkins: I’ve been to a thousand pharmacies in different places around dc/places that I’ve lived and never left a review, that’s how terrible this pharmacy is. About 2/3 of the time when I show up 5/6/7 hours after my script was called in, they havent even started filling it. As in they just forget about it. The last time this happened a few weeks ago when I was already late leaving on a trip, I had to wait for 45 minutes for them to finally fill it because the pharmacist decided to go on break halfway through after neglecting my script for 6 hours prior. If my insurance doesn’t cover a medication they just don’t fill it at all even though I’ve explained to them that I do not care I’ll just pay for it. I’ve explained this time and time again yet they continue to intentionally not fill these 2 medications anyway. Later, I went in 40 minutes after the pharmacy opened so I could pick up an emergency refill before work, and the pharmacist wasn’t even in yet, they were 40 minutes late to their job filling people’s life saving medications. Finally, I’ve had my old phone number on my account in addition to my current one despite me asking at least 30 times to have it removed and being ensured that it will be (it’s still on there). This means half the prescription update texts are sent to a number that does not even exist anymore. Switching to the CVS at the wharf ASAP, do not trust these people with your medications.

Bossi: This CVS is okay. It's generally well-stocked, though every few months it seems like another item gets locked inside security cabinets & it's never worth the time to get staff to come unlock it for you. The guard & staff at the front are nice, but pharmacy staff can be unnecessarily confusing: They'll often walking off without telling you whether you should wait or step aside or come back later, and for the exact same prescription on the same person's insurance: my girlfriend and I seem to pay wildly different prices depending on who picks it up (I sometimes seem to pay less when picking up her prescriptions).

thomas harty: Made a noon appointment for a flu shot. First i was told online appointments are not being honored. Then realizing they were calling my name out over the comm speaker asked me to sit down. 45 minutes later I was asked to walk around the store a bit as another person had shown up with an earlier appointment. The entire purpose of making an appointment was to minimize contact with others but the quality at which the pharmacy is being run makes the completely impossible. Additionally they seem horrifically understaffed, shame on cvs.

Jessica Carnes: Very unprofessional and rude staff. I called several times to check on my prescription, they put me on hold and was disconnected at least 3 times. I also called prior to pick up my medication, this was the 4th attempt. Receptionist said the prescription was ready, when I arrived there they made me wait another 20 minutes. I was handed my medication in a very rude manner, the young lady didn’t even has the nerve to hand me my receipt, she left it on the machine and walked away. RUDE!!! I would never go back to this pharmacy. I have to say though, the clerks at the store(Front desk) very nice!! Nice gentleman. Please hire better people at your pharmacy.

Figgy King Smith: Cashiers up front are fine, pharmacy is terribly rude though. They never give me a receipt, always just walk away after gruffly handing me my prescription. I called to transfer a script there, a simple request, and the attitude I got from the woman on the phone was crazy. Felt like she hated me.

CVS: what do users think?

A Harv: I was in a serious jam and in a big time rush, but the manager Kyara did a great job of helping me find the items I needed. She seemed to care as much as I did. I’m not used to this kind of great customer service in 2022, so I had to shout her out on Google. Keep up the great work. That store is lucky to have you.

Elisha Bridges: I can say that the pharmacy staff was very helpful with my meds. I haven't been asleep in a week and I really needed my meds. And I thought that my insurance wasn't going to cover it and the staff took their time and got it squared away. This CVS is the best and they deserve a bonus. Plus the store is clean and Organized!!! Great Customer Service

Lauren Arsenault: Tried to buy a much needed gift bag there but they wouldn’t sell it to me because it wouldn’t scan? Poor customer service and left me in a tough spot.

Prof. T.L.T.: Racist manager kept pressing “security to the front” button while a black doctor shopped for food. I guess the Dr. looked suspicious in gym clothes!!! This was humiliating and unnecessary.

Mary Gordon: My doctor sent my prescription to this pharmacy twice and when I call they say they haven’t received anything. No other help offered when I really need my prescription. I’ll be using another pharmacy from now on

Forrest Smith: It’s weird to be told that a place is closed before they’re actually closed, but given the majority of the reviews for this place, it’s really not surprising they would provide substandard service.

marche davis: Cashier was very rude and disrespectful to me today. She did not greet me , or better yet wanted to ring me up . This Cashier is name Carolyn, if I see this behavior continues with employe. I will be contacting HR .

Neha Kapoor: The manager Ton is absolutely incredible. I had to make a last minute move and he went above and beyond to keep boxes aside for me to pick up multiple times. He is extremely kind and his customer service is superb. I will always remember this and will come back to this and recommend this CVS location

alexis battle: 5/13/2020 4:05 pm Contacted CVS about one of my son's insulin while waiting on hold the phone lost connection so I called again I was then contacted to a lady name Shay who was very impatient and rude and didn't allow me to inform the situation going on before trying to cut me. I had to hang up to contact my old CVS and to confirm all my son's prescription was transferred to a new location which it was. I called again and got shay again starting on the phone with negative energy she put me on hold twice without informing me causing me to ask for a supervisor, once on the phone, everything was handled professionally. Shay is unprofessional and doesn't know how to handle a bad situation.

Jack: Worst customer service ever for a pharmacy! I came here to buy vitamin D this morning but needed some advice regarding the type (D2 or D3) and the dosage. The first woman behind the counter had literally no clue so she went to see the woman who was preparing the prescriptions. First she did not even pay attention and then came to me looking very upset, she did not even respond to my hello. She just said I should just go and pick whatever vitamin D3 and she left as she came without caring about the dosage or asking if I needed something else. I live right across the street and this woman is systematically mean with customers. I will now walk a few blocks and better go to rite aid on U rather than endure this type of behavior.

CVS: what do users think?

Cecilia Duffy: The female pharmacist who runs this location is fantastic, and always helpful. She’s on top of everything. The male pharmacist is the exact opposite. He seems to be there more often now which is unfortunate. Time to find a new location

Jess C: We did not have a good experience here. The pharmacist was not very nice, raised his voice with us, and failed to offer constructive help. This is a little nitpicky, but when referring to my wife's doctor the pharmacist also kept assuming her doctor was a man despite my wife saying "She prescribed me...", "She spoke to the other pharmacist here...", etc. when talking about her doctor. It was just an unusually adversarial interaction.

Michael Q: They are playing the absolute cheap labor policy, I received my vaccine from a "nurse" that is over 70, and he could barely hold the needle steadily, and confused my name with other patients 3 times! I'm not even sure till now if I received the right dose, and so one week after, my injection spot is still swollen! Please avoid CVS at all costs!

serfas 606: Staff is nice, but don’t even bother trying to call the pharmacy department . No one answers the phone. They must be short staffed or they turn their phone off. You can put your phone on speaker and set it down for an hour and they still don’t answer. You’re better off just going there yourself to talk to someone or get your prescriptions from the Dupont Circle CVS.

Joseph Antel: The pharmacy here is some combination of understaffed and incompetent. Almost every time I try to fill multiple prescriptions they do not fill all of them an insist it is the doctor's fault--which it never has been. I normally have to go to the pharmacy multiple times to correctly fill a single prescription due to staff incompetence. Don't even bother calling. I cannot communicate how poor the experience here is.

Gary C: I thought I'd seen all of the worst CVS pharmacies until I was transferred to DC. This pharmacy really takes the prize for the highest levels of pharmacy staff incompetence. Never since my transfer here in June have they ever had my monthly scripts ready, complete without issues or passed the buck to a coworker. I have a difficult time believing that any of their staff are licensed or certified in anything. Their people skills are totally absent, customer service is not part of their orientation. It's so sad that so many our healthcare companies have forced us to leave our pharmacies and move to CVS. I guess their cheap prices to our providers is well reflected in their level of service.

Chris Osborn: This is probably the most understaffed/under managed cvs in dc. I waited on the phone for 30 mins. No one picked up. I came back to the store at 3 after being told my prescription would be ready by noon and still wasn’t ready. I’m now waiting over 30 mins to have the pharmacist approve the prescription even though the associate says it’s ready. This store needs more staff.

Jim H: The Pharmacy is woefully understaffed. It is impossible to get them on the phone. I had all my prescriptions transferred to Dupont Circle Cvs. There it’s a completely different experience.

Fortuna Semere: My customer experience at 1637 P ST NW, Washington store CVS Pharmacy was the best customer service ever seen. It was amazing. There was two employees at the register Ms. Sheila & Ms. Twanda. There were very friendly toward their customers. They are very helpful. They show their customer how important to them. They are attentiveness listen to their customers concerns. Thanks again for the wonderful services.

Gerald Gloria: Spent almost 2 hours trying to get prescription drugs here. First trip, spent 30 mins on the line and left my prescription. I came back and was first told I should come back the next day. When I said I'll go to a different pharmacy, I was told come back in an hour. I came back and had to wait almost another hour to get my prescripting they were still trying to prepare. Make the long story short. Don't waste your time getting your prescription here.

CVS: what do users think?

Gary: Best pharmacy we’ve found in D.C. The pharmacist is extremely helpful and kind. Another staff person was equally caring. This CVS is also a health hub, can do some testing (like blood sugar), and has a larger selection of medicines and supplies than other stores.

Dennis Sutch: This place is located near Federal Triangle, which I believe is the closest pharmacy to this mass of federal buildings. There is usually a crowd at this location, but the store has two check out lines, one for people who want a cashier and another for those who don't mind self check out, so the lines usually move along quickly. Now that this store has a second level, the variety of items available has grown. The staff normally are upbeat and helpful.

Renita Lake: Got what I needed and some good conversation too.

Eraina Scott: The manager on duty on 9/12/20 at 1310 hours is very unprofessional. She is not able to communicate well nor does she have the ability to lead her team by example.

M M: Not sure why they have appointment times. Horribly unprofessional to keep people w appointment times waiting for well over 45 mins.

James Bartel: Minute Clinic?? Huh, clearly by name only!! What a joke, first in the building 2 minutes after opening, first to sign in yet a message came back and said I had a 107 minute wait. Really? For What? You could hear crickets it was so dead and quiet in there. If I am going to go to a Urgent Care facility, I will skip CVS in the future, and go to a real one.

J C: The minute clinic experience was very disappointing. The NP on duty was very unhelpful and eventually found out that she never submitted my claim for the visit, so from there began the six months of back and forth between my insurance and CVS.

Michael smith: Called before hand and talked with the manager. Came to store for a return and her a lady employee was very rude and judgemental. Waited 10 mins for the manager to which she said its her call to return. The employee wasn't a shift supervisor or manager. My experience was very disappointing and I couldn't return my medience after being told I could come in for an exchange or refund via money card. I wouldn't recommend this Cvs because the manager was very unprofessional and inattentive. Also her staff was very rude.

Harvey Glick: I like my local CVS.

Sophie Levy: Manager Scott absolutely incredible helped my friend with her stomach illness and went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed. MVP of cvs

CVS: what do users think?

Mold Spec: They put money for paypal on an expired card for my brother Jason on and then wouldn't give him the money back. They have no idea what is going on over there. He is traveling for work and that is the only money that he has and after they did it said they could not reverse anything and couldn't do anything about it to contact PayPal, of course after being on the phone with pay pay for four hours nothing could be done about it. Why would CVS put money on an expried card, how is that possible. Take your money and then cant do nothing about it.

Mr Blue: They don’t care about you I went there for a walk-in Covid 19 booster shot and the pharmacist turned me away saying I needed an appointment. There are multiple signs in the store and on the counter that clearly says « walk-in welcome », when I pointed it out to the pharmacist he said « OK ». If you don’t want to work at all, or do your job or help people, you shouldn’t work here in a pharmacy.

Nathalie Denham: Pharmacist Yvette deserves so much praise!! I started getting my medications filled here since covid started early 2020. i had some initial issues with new insurance covering my meds that i pickup almost biweekly and Yvette has had the heart and patience to help advocate for me and assist when I procrastinated far too often on getting refills when i have only one dose left. I can tell she works so hard and really cares about her colleagues and everyone that comes to the pharmacy. I can’t say enough good things. she is a household name for my family now and going to get refills isn’t a dreadful chore anymore because even our 30 second convos when it’s busy just light up my day <3

Lynelle Nicole: I’m not sure who the old man was working the register last night but he was great. Very helpful, good customer service, and got me in/out fairly quickly.

Happy Days: The pharmacist doesn’t know how to process insurance card.. My insurance company had to call and walk her through the process. Wasted two hours of my time. She is not even pretending to care . Avoid this location at all cost ! Or better , please send a more skilled pharmacist.

harmandeep singh: I think 1101 New York Ave CVS/Pharmacy store is the cleanest store in downtown DC. The store staff is really friendly. I come over here almost 4 times a week and I always feel welcomed by the store staff and especially by the store manager Casey. Love this CVS ❤️❤️

Austin Graff: This CVS was recently renovated so it feels crisp and clean. It's conveniently located in downtown DC positioning themselves as the place to go for every office worker's needs. It's a large CVS so they have groceries, greeting cards, gummy bears, and even a pharmacy in the back. When I went, the staff were friendly, but I also noticed the self-check-out lanes were all broken.

Kaleab Tessema: I met this wonderful women called FiFonsi and i was unable to print my photo from my smartphone. She helped me figure out through the whole process and her service is beyond my imagination! Thank you so much!

William Klauberg: The store needs security. The management identified a regular as "dangerous" but did nothing about it. That individual recently brandished a gun to an employee and management has still done nothing. I don't feel comfortable in this place at all. Please hire some security staff.

J D: Aida was the lady that helped me around the store, she knew where everything was around. But what impressed me was that she was really sweet. Recommend asking for her.

CVS: what do users think?

Nils Hünerfürst: All you need to survive is here but there are no self-checkout options at this CVS store so in the case of zombie apocalypse you will die because you have to wait way too long.

Kristen X: Most depressing CVS in DC. A man with a gun and a bulletproof vest has to help you pick out toothpaste, body wash, etc. because it’s all locked up. Everything else is in short supply. No self-checkout. If Whole Foods a block away can manage to let people check out and get whatever they want without an armed guard, why can’t CVS?

Honest T: I like CVS pharmacies both in Washington DC & New York & we had a great experience there yesterday @CVS DC. Marchelle had been very nice , courteous with her sense of humor which made us laugh…My son had his covid vaccine booster & we were very happy of their services!!! Thank you very much!!! Happy New Year!!!

Dylan Roche: I can't speak for the rest of the store, as I haven't done much shopping here, but the pharmacy is truly not as bad as the reviews make it out to be. After working with multiple helpful pharmacy staff members, I wonder if the reviews are old and may not reflect the current state of the pharmacy. I had an issue that was entirely my fault, and the pharmacy staff explained clearly, exactly what I needed to do to correct the issue, and worked with me to ensure I got what I needed. This is not a 5 star store, but based on the other reviews, things are certainly improving.

Keith Crawford: This store is consistently poorly stocked and never has items on sale that you could find on sale at every other CVS location. Whatever it is you are looking for, you probably won't find it here.

Rebecca Lorenzen: Get ready to wait ~15 minutes if you ever need something that is locked behind the glass. Although that is the case for many CVS locations in DC I've found. You'll ring the bell and nobody will come. You'll probably have to go get someone. Also can someone please explain why Dove or Nivea body wash really needs to be under lock and key?

Lisa Biancalana: No self checkout - always long lines

Taylor Gutierrez: Place would be nice if they didn’t lock up everything. Also the place is understaffed.

Joseph Schroeder: This is the worst CVS of all time in any city I’ve ever been to. Everything is out of stock (even if online says it’s there), what they do have is behind plexiglass locks that are annoying, and the employees are mean and don’t care.

Alec Cobb: too many things locked up, understaffed, no self-checkout

CVS: what do users think?

Gabrielle Brown: My twin boys received their covid vaccine here today. The pharmacist was so polite and did his best to administer it in a gentle way. He had a good attitude even though he was the only one working the pharmacy.

ann jones: I went to this CVS at Thomas Circle this afternoon and it was appalling. It was very crowded, lines were going out the door and there were only two attendants at the registers for the entire store. I think there need to be a change in management as this is happening more often. I’m a long time customer of this particular store because I own a business close by and I’ve never seen such chaos as I’ve been seeing lately. Please clean house or I will take my business elsewhere. You are not the only CVS in the area. If I could have given you a zero star I would. Thank you.

Adam Moses: Pharmacy held my prescription until it expired without notifying me. They gave incorrect information on the refill date and I had to go back to my doctor to get a refill because of their incompetence. The pharmacy on 14th st. is a lot more reliable than this one.

rivka garver: Went here to get my kids vaccinated. One of my children is extremely afraid of shots. Sabrina, the woman administering shots, was extremely patient, got my 5 year old child to hug her, and made my child comfortable enough that they didn't notice when the shot went in. She was amazing and I couldn't believe how much time Sabrina spent trying to get my child to stop crying. I was not expecting such kindness and care. Thank you, Sabrina!

Catharine: Much less than pleased with my vaccine experience at this CVS. Arrived on time for my appointment just to spend 10 minutes waiting for the pharmacist to find the vaccine cards (first red flag). Wasn’t asked for my ID or any sort of identifying information except my name which presumably the pharmacist got from the appointment record and found sufficient (second red flag). I was slightly put off but didn’t think too much of it, until I took a second look at my vaccine card today (since I need it for travel) and found that the pharmacist had forgotten to put the date of the vaccine on the card. Not sure what I’m supposed to do with a vaccine card that looks fake, and have gotten zero info from CVS about what I am supposed to do about a useless vaccine card... Haven’t gotten Covid so two stars for the J&J vaccine apparently working?

Arash S.: Today was the first and hopefully the last time in this pharmacy. One of the staff, supposedly the doctor, was trying to be helpful in describing different potential scenarios that had affected my very high copay. However, the cashier could not be more aggressive! I had a feeling that she had absolutely no idea about how to smile and talk to customers. I believe she really needs to be trained again (if she has not been) on how to deal with customers and be communicative.

Panagiotis Samaras: Some of the fruits were moldy. Staff didn't care.

Baddog66: I have lived in dc 30 years. This CVS has seriously declined and I struggle to know why. It's no longer open 24/7 yet checkouts are continually broken and the store just looks dirty inside. I avoid this location as much as possible and usually walk up to the P street location.

Tiana Wade: This rating isn't lower purely because of the stores convenience. Now being watched while in the store is getting EXTREMELY old. I work across the street, have for going on a year and I've never stolen in my life. I've seen the people who steal be chased out of the store, the only similarity is the color of our skin. I never leave the store without paying, my receipts are digital also out of convenience. I'd go to the in person register but employees tend to be flocked together there which makes for uncomfortable maneuvering, as such I use the self check out. The first time is understandable even the second from a societal standpoint but this has become a hindrance. Once the Wawa opens across the way I'll happily shop there, or at ANY other CVS because DC has an abundance.

Viviane Crosthwaite: Literally the worst. The pharmacist is really nice and does a good job but the whole shop is grossly understaffed, all the support staff are incredibly rude and half the time they only give me half the prescriptions that are ready and waiting for me. I just spent 30mins on hold to try and get a prescription transferred to another pharmacy and nobody ever picked up so my doctor had to rescind the script and resend it. Avoid this pharmacy, it's the worst.

CVS: what do users think?

edwin bass: Contrary to the online hours listed, they are NOT open 24 hours. One of the pictures shows me trying to enter the store at 3:20 AM,but the doors were CLOSED. The lights were on- but no one responded!? The confusing part is their signage posted which provides many different hours of operation?Which makes me wonder why they can't empty their trash when they close? Especially since it was full enough to force people to stack garbage on top of the only receptacle! I could understand if this was one time, but almost every time I go to this CVS,there's either trash piled up or all over the parking lot. Besides the roaches crawling around, there is a flattened rat near the entrance that's been there so long it's petrified into the foundation( too gross to photo) On this particular visit when I drove away with the excess packaging from my purchase and a dirty diaper from my little one,I saw thier dumpster and used it instead.Yay! Haha, funny- the gate was wide open and not a single piece of trash was in it!? How hard is it to take out the trash CVS? I actually considered lending a hand and emptying it myself, but my toddler wasn't getting any less fussy and I had my own trash to take out when I got home. Other than that, the location is perfect for picking up our prescriptions on my way home from work.

Benjamin W: Waited over half an hour to see the doctor for a COVID assessment. Also, entered all my info on the shared touch screen kiosk. I have COVID... I hope I didn't leave virus on the screen or anywhere else as I sat in their store for half an hour. This was also second time entering this info, I filled out the forms online. Jumping through all the CVS admin hoops cost me over an hour of my time total... woof woof. The doctor was excellent.

Diogo Pereira: I took an exam called Medical Card for DOT at this location, with a nurse in the exam she was completely lost, she didn't know how to do the exam and read all the time in a book what should be done, showing total inexperience, finally she he didn't give me my Medical Card, she just gave me a report. I paid for the service and I don't have what I need, now I'm trying to solve my problem and nobody solves anything other than treating me super badly!!! I definitely do not recommend this location!!!

The Owl: The CVS should hire more pharmacist like Nesreen at 2226 Wisconsin Ave NW DC. She is always very pleasant and helpful. Nesreen has the proper temperament and training for the Job, and her work is a reflection of CVS commitment to provide excellent customer service.Cyrus

Rachel M: This place is literally hell on earth. Every time I try to fill a prescription here, they insist it was never sent, even when I come prepared with a fax confirmation from the prescribing doctor. Come here if you want to live a kafka-esque nightmare where you waste an unbelievable amount of time. Also the pharmacist doesn’t even wear a mask. I know we’ve lifted mask mandates but you’d think a health professional would be more cautious.

xavier platt: This CVS says- open 24 hrs all over the building and on the website, but that is not true. Save yourself the hassle of going there to pick up your medication, if you work odd hours and can only pick them up when they claim to be open. Unfortunately they have only posted a sign on the front door showing hours (7am-11pm)but failed to make that information accessible anywhere else? After working long hours, only to find out that I wouldn't be able to pick up my prescription on my way home was more than frustrating!

Taylor Keeler: The pharmacy at this location is TERRIBLE. I had to go twice only to be told my insurance wasn’t the right insurance, or that my prescription card was expired. This is not true, and when I transferred it over to Walgreens they were able to fill my prescription under my insurance in less than 5 minutes. The pharmacist yelled at me, made no effort to use my insurance, and ultimately almost cost me $75. Incredibly incompetent. The girl working at the counter was the only nice person there. Huge waste of time at this pharmacy that just wants as much money as they can get.

Nicole S: This is literally the worst cvs I’ve ever been to and everyone in the neighborhood knows it too. The pharmacy staff are horrific… so incredibly rude and SLOW. They completely messed up my prescription and it took over a month for them to fix it, along with the attitude that came with it all from the pharmacy staff. Someone needs to do something about this place

Tyler Hill: They filled my prescription wrong. Took over a month to fix it, then didn’t tell me it was ready until after it was “expired”. The pharmacist was rude and refused to take any responsibility or offer a solution. I had to file a complaint with the better business bureau to get so much as an apology.

Rachel Henzlik: This is a review of their newly renovated minute clinic - it’s wonderful! The nurse practitioner was very thorough and kind. The store is also well stocked and has a variety of products. I would definitely come back for the minute clinic and to shop. Best CVS I’ve been to in DC.

CVS: what do users think?

David Friedlander: Bought a phone card that was not rang though the cash Register took it back they said they would not do anything about it???? I wonder what happened to the 50.00 drawer overage? called corporate still waiting 20 minutes on hold still waiting.I will let the media know what happens

Rachel D: I've been getting prescriptions from CVS Pharmacy for a long time, but this location makes them hard to pick up because they are only open until 2pm on Saturday and aren't open at all on Sunday. So unless you are able to go during the week, you simply don't have a way to get your medication. However the biggest thing I dislike about this CVS is how expensive it is. Having to pay $12 for a generic brand of garbage bags is horrible. I don't recommend buying anything here that you could instead get at Harris Teeter, Walmart, Streets Market, Target, Trader Joe's, or a gas station, all of which are options in walking distance from here. THAT being said, don't fall for the 1 star reviews here from people who think that if something isn't a 5 star service or business, it must be only rated as 1 star. Pay attention to the level of privilege displayed by many of those who rate this store poorly, or at least pay attention to why. For example, if you don't need to get prescriptions filled here, and just need a place to pick up a few essentials, or get certain brands, or especially to get cosmetics, health supplies, toiletries, and over the counter medications, this is your place! I go here all the time, because it is right by where I live -- I just don't buy everything I need here. And for how small it is, they have pretty much everything you could need. The people who work here are fantastic, and have a high tolerance level for difficult customers and difficult situations, in a manner that goes above and beyond. The store also offers free health screenings open to the public on a regular basis. This location is easy to find and is very accessible by walking, metro, or bus. It provides a very needed service to the community in simple access to necessary products and things for living.

Samantha Unger: Got a text at 1:42 that my prescriptions were ready for pick up. Had my Uber driver stop my ride short so I could go to CVS before getting home. Got to the pharmacy at 1:45. The pharmacy is closed and has a sign that they’re closed from 1-2. So while they’re closed for an hour, they’ll still text you to come in and get your prescription. I’m all for taking a lunch break. But don’t text people that they’re prescriptions are ready if you’re not open.

Angelica Mattox: This CVS is less than three minutes from my apartment ideally this is the most convenient pharmacy to pick up my medication. However, instead of calling me or my doctor to notify us that they don’t have it and we would need to make other arrangements it took me calling four days later to find out there was an issue.

KW: I’ve stayed with the pharmacy out of convenience but now at the point of moving my prescriptions to a pharmacy less convenient just so I don’t have to have the same conversation every time the pharmacy misses the mark. It happens EVERY single time. You would think being a customer for nearly 5 years would count for something but this CVS pharmacy treats everyone like they are just a number. There is a really nice girl who works behind the pharmacy counter but that’s it. No personal touch beyond my interactions with her. Do better CVS!

Tristana Fiscella: For a fairly small modest C.V.S. you can get quite a few hair care products like combs and caps and conditioning treatments as well as makeup. I appreciated the self service checkout and friendly security.

Kati Marti: Came here for my second covid shot. I live in VA but nowhere had any doses, so I drove in just for this. Extremely friendly and quick service. Not busy at all! Was in and out in 10 minutes.

George Slye: It's nice to shop for anything you want.

Michael Freeman: This is the absolute worst pharmacy I've ever used, period. Their posted hours do not reflect their actual working hours. I'm not sure if it's that the hours listed online are incorrect or that the staff is just unreliable, but regardless, their actual open hours appear to be random. Do not, I repeat, do NOT rely on this place if you need to pick up anything important before or after work. They WILL be closed even though they're supposed to be open. The staff both in the pharmacy and the rest of the store are some of the most belligerent and unhelpful people I've ever had the misfortune of meeting. Just....go elsewhere.

Chundy Chang: For all the hype that NoMa is getting as a hot, on-the-rise neighborhood in DC, the fact that BOTH of the CVS stores within walking distances are not worth visiting is a little bewildering to grasp. While this one has the benefit of self-checkout that the H Street CVS does not, the store veritably compensates by hiring some of the most incompetent, rude, disinterested staff I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. This staff wouldn't even make the cut at a 7-Eleven; at least 7-Eleven staff answer questions when asked. To top it off, the store is often out of stock of very basic hygiene products on a regular basis. Also, what store in the 21st century located in a prime city location closes its doors at 9 PM? Are the staff just that unwilling to work? Local convenience stores should start stocking up on health and hygiene products to sell because the competition is not that hard to beat in the neighborhood.

CVS: what do users think?

Bernice Friedlander: This the second time they did not deliver my meds on time after promising me they would do so last Friday. I am out of my diabetes medicine tonight. They were told this both the pharmacist and the manager. They lied. I will never trust them again.

Cameron Coppoletta: Does not provide masks says they don't care whether you have been vacinated or not. Showed the cashiers my vaccine card and they chased me around the store saying you not wearing a mask is bothering our customers when there was no customers. I confirmed with another cashier there was no mask policy currently. Disguested.

Sherry A: If I could, i would give mines zero "- 0" review to this pharmacy on E street. The pharmacist at this pharmacy is very incompetent with zero knowledge. I have NO idea how did he get his pharmaceutical degree if any. Perhaps he was on job training. He does NOT follow patients previously prescriptions information on computer screen before fills it. I usually get a brand prescription medicine every month under the head of pharmacist, Dr. Selashi. When he is not there, well, it's a sad news because the other pharmacists are sad news having problems filling out prescriptions correctly. Which it happened to me yesterday, in which i had spent 3 hours arguing the incompetent pharmacist that the prescription he filled was wrong and didn't want to accept it unless he follows what i usually get. Which he was consistently refusing to do so. I finally had to call my insurance company and store manager to make him acknowledge his mistake for NOT following the previously filled prescriptions on computer and fix the issues that he caused. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT waste your time going to this CVS pharmacy on E street NW. Otherwise you'll take your own risks facing some of incompetent pharmacies's errors with your prescriptions which would be challenging with much difficulties to correct it.

Krista Stormberg: Diana in the pharmacy department is easily one of the nicest most polite people I've ever meet. When I see her smiling face, I choose to go to her counter to check out (as long as I'm not impeding on other pharmacy users). She renews my hope in the corporate institution of CVS. They need to give that woman a raise, pronto!

Chad W: Warning for APO / DPO Pharmacy Users. On two separate occasions, this pharmacy failed to send prescription medication as promised leading to critical doses that were missed. In one instance, it took a week before the prescription was mailed. In another instance, it was a week and a half and they had misplaced the address and credit card number I provided to cover shipping. Follow up with them every day until you have a USPS tracking number.

W Merritt: Standard fare for CVS. Self Checkouts were not working. Staff running the registers were only half interested in working, mostly chatting with each other. When you have to have bandaids because you cant walk any more, you do what you have to...

Abdulrahman: I’ve been helped by Delois. She was amaaaazing and really made my day. I was trying to print a passport photo for my infant daughter and she was there to help. Thank you Delois

Chundy Chang: In comparison to the CVS at 2000 Penn, this store falls short in terms of staff and selection. It's thankfully open 24/7 so it's available to visitors of all hours, but that's about the only selling point. The store is not as well stocked as the other store and the staff are not as good.

Vincent Devillaine: Horrible customer support! The clerk was bored to death and clearly didn't want to help anyone. Rude talking, lazyness... this is a shame. Employees like that wouldn't last long in any other business with customer interaction.

Kevin Kane: All their signage says 24 hours despite that not being true

CVS: what do users think?

Dimitri Ivanoff: It's an average CVS location, solid 4*. Food options are limited, but you can pick up some sandwiches or salads. Right now the store is open until 10PM (February 2022). Self checkout is open, there's security at entrance but it's normal for DC

Maia Laing: The staff are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The store is always well stocked with a variety of items. The pharmacist are pleasant and there is never a long wait. Hours have been restricted due to COVID, it would be nice for them to be open 24/7.

Terence Abraham: Went here to fill a prescription of eye drops and was met by Ruth “the rude pharmacist.” She was extremely rude and condescending and asked me is was going to wait or pickup. I told her that I would wait and she got upset and asked me to come back in 30 minutes. After coming back in 30, she asked me again rudely that has it already been 30 minutes and then asked me to come back in 30 minutes. Is this a joke? Mind you I am just picking up eye drops, why does it take 30 minutes? Or let alone an hour? Is 30 her favorite number? Went to a different CVS and was out in 15 minutes. Clearly this is not CVS’s common practice and must have proper training on customer service. Skip this location and go the one on 4th street which is right around the corner, what a difference. Will never come back to this store. Shame on you Ruth!

Nikolas Asaro: Worst customer service. On the rare occasion I need to pick up something, I go to this CVS. The cashiers are not friendly at all and they stop letting people come in before their posted store closing hours. Several times I have tried to pick up something quick and they have an employee standing at the door telling people they are closed. When asked what time they close, they replied, 10 o’clock. Then I show them that it is before 10 o’clock and they door man says it is so they can leave at 10 o’clock. If you can avoid it, don’t buy anything there.

Lara Bryant: Staff at this CVS are very pleasant. I've noticed every time I go in that the cashiers are always friendly and quick to help. Nice new store with a good selection. No self-check out, and that works fine for me!

Shelly Lu: This CVS is the worst CVS in DC. The cashiers are highly rude and act like they don’t want to be working. I was helped by Dreshawn and the whole time he was on his phone texting while ringing me up. Before you guys hire people, make sure they have some good customer service skills.

Yasmine Assadipour: The pharmacy here is atrocious and lucky they are the only one in the area or I would have quit them long ago. Multiple times my doctors have left messages they claim never to receive, one time they incorrectly inactivated the prescription I needed and then told me they could inactivate but not reactivate so I had to bother my doctor here a second time for the same medication. Months ago they refused to fill a completely valid pain medication prescription for no reason after I’d had a procedure, I never use pain medication and myself am a HCP and knew there was nothing wrong with the prescription but the pharmacist there was on a power kick and left me in pain for a day while I had to get another script and bring it to another pharmacy. CVS should be ashamed of this site.

Caroline Jenkins: Worst customer service not only of any CVS I’ve been to, but any pharmacy at all. Cashiers extremely rude to customers, refuses to open other registers despite there being 15+ people in line. One decided to even go on her break while a long line of customers was still building up. Will never ever return. Very disappointed in CVSs choice of employees

Amelia Visnauskas: Pretty decent selection and generally neat and orderly. They have a good selection of makeup and snacks, but less practical home items. Lots of seasonal items and tourist items too.

Helen Mitra: I am an overseas visitor and have travelled extensively. I very rarely write a review but having stayed at the nearby hotel and needed to buy basics from this store I had to visit it several times. I found the customer service terrible every time. Staff were impolite and unfriendly. There was no effort to provide a smile or assist. Staff just would not acknowledge you or let you wait as if they are arrogant and completely disinterested in providing you with service. They desperately need customer service training even the pharmacist.

CVS: what do users think?

Julian Hines: The pharmacist here are RUDE AS HELL! Absolutely terrible customer service, dismissive and provide ZERO explanations, just attitude for no reason. I came for my booster shot, lady walks from behind the counter, booster bare in hand, gives me zero instruction, zero information. Like you guys really need to address that issue ASAP. It was a woman with a heavy accent, seriously you guys should be ashamed. TERRIBLE ALL AROUND. I had no attitude so im confused what was wrong with her smfh

Daniel Call: This CVS is in rougher shape than many I have visited. The aisles are fairly cramped, and when I went to check out, the cashier walked me over to self-checkout. (I would have gone there anyway, but I was buying an item with a security device attached. I thought she would remove it and then ring me out, but instead she removed it and took me to self-checkout...?) I felt like I was being followed by one of the workers the entire time, which was unusual.

Teressa W: I am so grateful for how conveniently close this is to the hotel where I was staying! I was able to walk & grab some necessities & get back in a snap. The two ladies on staff were very friendly & helpful. You'll definitely miss it if you're not carefully looking for it as it's really wedged into the building.

Grady Simon: Made an appointment for a Flu shot, but when I got there, they didn't have any flu shots. Didn't get any notification that they had ran out of stock. They just deleted a half hour of my time.

Lavonnia Johnson: The stor is clean and they always provide great customer service.

marcus allen: I was in the store last night (9/3/2018) and one of the store associates/cashiers was extremely rude. Had I went back and forth with him in the tone that he gave me I'm sure he would have tried to get physical with me. Had I not been the bigger person, he would have lost his job. He was a short African-American male, early to mid 20s maybe. I came in to ask for change and to use the restroom. He must have some emotional attachment to that bathroom because he got angry when I asked. I told him I have no problem purchasing something if need be, which I did and eventually used the restroom but only with the help of a helpful and polite associate who had to apologize on his behalf. If you are unhappy in life, take measures and do better (I'm hoping he sees this). Lastly, when I was in the bathroom there was a huge puddle on the floor by the toilet which I'm going to assume it was piss. Maybe he pissed someone else off and they retaliated. Sucks if he had to clean that up. Oh well. Thanks to the helpful young lady I was able to go on about my day pleasantly. I just hope that one guy gets his life together.

damarria lowery: I shop her often and know all of the staff. But they need better security..the last 5 times I visited this location I have witnessed them being robbed blind..people com in with backpack, shopping bags and yep tote bags. They take the merchandise and walk right out of the store.. This may be a reason why shelves are empty.. I saw one guest come in and fill two shopping bags of food from the freezer.. Such a shame.

William Duncan: Don't pay any attention to the negative reviews this CVS location had gotten. I've lived just up the street for it for over a year and have always had great experiences at this location. Always well stocked (except some Sunday nights) and very friendly employees. Good place to pick up milk or a quick snack. Love the ExtraBucks program! Definitely a big money saver!

Bob Lind: I have lived in this neighborhood for 2 out of the past 3 years. My usual routine is to take my 12 pound fluffy white dog for a walk and then pick up a couple of things. If it isnt busy one of the store clerks would come out and pet my dog. This morning the uppity store manager seeing someone he didnt like came out and told me we are not allowed in the store. There is no sign out front. The dog has been in the store 2 or 3 times a week since i have lived in the neighborhood. But we wont be back. We went to another cvs a couple of blocks away and the clerk greeted my dog with "what a pretty dog". Too bad because this was a friendly place. Updated: I have spent the past months testing to see if my dog was allowed in CVS stores in the neighborhood. The only mishap was with one time, with one manager at this store. I stopped by the other day to pick up something, he was not around but the front part of the store is leaking water everywhere. Google and I get the following answer: Does CVS allow dogs? The CVS in downtown welcomes all dogs into their store. It's really convenient if you need to grab something quickly while walking downtown with your pet

Rupa C: I have been coming to this CVS for approximately 7 years. I highly recommend it. Any issue I have had in the past with a script or with refills , has always been addressed in a timely manner. When my insurance would not cover a expensive medication my child required for 2 ruptured eardrums ($187 for 10mls!), the pharmacist here helped me navigate a pre-authorization through the Dr which lead to coverage from the insurance. The pharmacist know their medication related information. 2 times, the pharmacist here have given me a heads up about serious potential side effects, that my own Dr failed to mention. The pharmacy staff takes the time to answer questions, are helpful with recommendation and actually care about their customers. I really appreciate them!!

CVS: what do users think?

Josh: Pharmacy employees will stand there and count pills without saying a word, while making you wait 10 minutes. It happens every time

Garry Highland: Poorly stocked and overpriced. many of the workers seem to have something better to do when asked for assistance in finding items, seeing how this is the weirdest layout of a store I have ever seen, I have to guess there are several people other than me asking where items are located. I only stopped here for one item and never did find it.

Gwendolyn Threatt: Ordered prints online, called after waiting past the estimated ready time, only to be told that their printing machine was out. No sense of customer service, bland apology, no help with finding out which branch might have a working machine.

C. M.: Everyone is wonderful here! Really appreciate the white gentleman who works at the Pharmacy daily. He is so polite, fast, efficient and never seems tired! I love this CVS. The 30 minutes walk is worth it.

Chris Wheeler: Edit: now only 1 employee, and cash not angrier at all. 3 employees, but they refused to check out any customers, insisting they use self checkout. Normally I like self checkout, except that nobody could figure out how to use them and there was a huge line. If I want to stand in line forever to buy aspirin, I'll go to walmart and save $5.

Thiudiskaz: I live a block away and this is my go-to place for incidentals (several times a week, usually). It is small but has all of the basics, including limited groceries (mostly boxed stuff, but also milk, ice cream, etc.). I especially recommend the Pharmacy (I'd give them 5 stars!) Always quick and professional. The only reason I don't give the store 5 stars overall is the lack of self checkout. They do have several registers that are usually adequately covered, but every once in a while, there is a long line. Self checkout would be a huge plus. Overall, though, this place is great for your everyday needs. And the staff and managers are always very helpful and courteous.

Earle Douglass: This is a fine CVS but not a thoughtful one. There are cash registers at both entrances to the store but only one register bank is ever manned and there is almost always a line. This store desperately needs more manpower or automated checkout machines.

dwayne gulley: A bit compact but all the employees are helpful and the pharmacy is top notch. In and out quickly over the past 6 visits!!!

Florence McDavies: The employee on duty was beyond unprofessional and disrespectful. Her name was Ashanti and she was on her phone the entire transaction. I asked for assistance and she literally sucked her teeth. She’s bad for business and this is not my first encounter with her horrible service.

TheDarkChemist: Pretty much just your average CVS. Nothing special about this location. The one big drawback this place has it that there are no self-checkout registers. I'm used to just grabbing one or two things, so self-checkout is always the fastest option for me. Can't do that here, and that's slightly disappointing.
