Byte Back: what do users think?
David Whitney
David Whitney: Byte Back is an organization driven by solutions, results, and impacts. Byte Back continues to successfully bridge the Digital Divide. It does so by providing historically excluded communities an equitable pathway into the Digital Economy. This is done through transformative digital advocacy, digital literacy, and tech certifications. I strongly recommend donating to Byte Back in support of its mission, vision, and impact.
Response: We appreciate your kind words!!!! Thank you!
Ana A
Ana A: I attended the virtual info session last week and my experience was positive. The session was well organized, professional and everything was communicated clearly and multiple times even after folks kept interrupting with questions and topics that were not relating to the session. Ms Stallings did a great job facilitating all this in a timely manner, with help from Ms Farmer. I am a potential student, pending the results from the session, just wanted to give my view/review.
Response: Thank you so much for your review and we're so happy you got the information you needed at our Info Session!
Marty Wrin
Marty Wrin: I came to Byte Back with some IT experience but no certifications. There was an orderly process for applying and I was notified of my acceptance in a timely manner. I took the IT Fundamentals class with Andrew. He is engaging and patient. He mixed videos with lectures and PowerPoint presentations to deliver the content. With his help I easily passed the CompTIA ITF exam and began my career in IT! A big benefit of Byte Back over many other places is the additional resources and connections. Both during and after my time as a student, I was invited to career events, networking events, and even conferences via Byte Back. I have taken IT courses at several institutions and Byte Back is by far the best. I believe in Byte Back so much that I chose to come back and work here as an IT Specialist!
Response: You were a great student and participant, Marty! Now we're so thrilled to have you on staff, giving back your skills and knowledge to IT students. So amazing! Go Byte Back Alumni!!
Tamara Waller
Tamara Waller: I had a great experience during my time at Byte Back. I enrolled in the IT Track. Eliana was great going through an Office refresher course. Then we moved on to IT Fundamentals with Andrew. He made class interesting and interactive. A+ was taught by Marty Wrin. He was very patient and knowledgeable. Byte Back also provides great support services such as resume review and monthly metro cards. I passed A+ thanks to the help of Byte Back.
Response: We're so proud of you, Tamara! Can't wait to see where those skills and cert take you. Go Byte Back Alumni!!
Loretta Howell
Loretta Howell: I started my Byteback experience in November 2016. I do not believe my experience could have been any better, from the variety of receptionists to the instructors. I have taken a total of three classes so far, I am currently studying IT Fundamentals. WHERE DO YOU GET THESE PEOPLE FROM??? They are heaven sent. I knew little about utilizing my personal computer to the fullest. I feel more empowered as a result. Leo, Shannon, Bock, Derek, Dasea, and Andrew you ARE SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!
Response: Your story is so touching, and thank you SO MUCH, Loretta. We're so happy to be able to help you in your education and career journey and can't wait to see where the future will take you!

Both of my instructors Ms. Cowley and Ms. Dixon are great teachers and are very knowledgeable about the information. It has been very fast paced but has helped me with my time management and I have acquired the skills and confidence to work in a medical setting.
Response: Hi Vanessa, thank you for the nice review! We're happy to hear that CTI has helped improve your skills!
Brande' F
Brande' F: I enjoyed my experience at this school so far as being in the hospitality class. I miss being guided by Mr. Aquino because as the class knew, he wanted the best for all of us. Then when Mrs. Brown came, she helped me along with others study for certifications. Idk why people not coming to enjoy the knowledge. Its way too easy!! Well if you take notes and follow along ... Its the same work, just worded differently. I already asked several times about the Associates Degree.

Softek Services, Inc.: what do users think?
Charlotte Lewis
Charlotte Lewis: Great experience! I recently took the introductory courses for Microsoft Access and Visio. The instructors were extremely patient, informative, and kept the pace of the class flowing and participants interacting. We were provided with book materials, but I learned heavily from the instructor examples, and they walked me through each exercise. Class times may vary. The two intro classes I took lasted from 9AM-4PM with sufficient breaks. The costs also vary. Each full day class was approximately $300, but there are group rates if your organization enrolls together. IT can be rough, but they made it very interesting!
Paul Drew
Paul Drew: I loved the quality of teaching. Everything was so easy to learn. Michelle was so hilarious throughout all 3 days. Would love to go back to a different classes.
Jonathan Etheridge
Jonathan Etheridge: Great school and staff to teach literally everything about Tech and Computers, preparing you for your certification and/or career or career advancement. Great place as the IT industry is last of a dying breed!.

University of the District of Columbia Community College (UDC-CC): what do users think?
Henok D
Henok D: The most terrible school I have ever been to. Both the main campus and the Community college are the same. A lot of slow, unprofessional, and rude staff who keep yelling at students when they are not even doing their jobs properly. I submitted a certain paper to the Financial Aid office and they told me they lost the paper after weeks that I had to pay about $1700 out of pocket. During the 2020 Pandemic, I tried to contact them as I was having difficulty to waive the Student Insurance that is provided through the school because I already had an insurance coverage; no one answered my call until it was due. And now Miss Gaskon told me that I have to pay about $1300 for the coverage I never needed. Mis Gascon was there in 2018/19 when I had the same issue; she helped me waive it then. I could not go to her office in 2020 be a of Covid restrictions. I tried to solve the issue communicating with them but nothing got better yet. I would not recommend anyone to go the UDC unless one needs a headache. I cannot deny that there are some great Professors such as Prof. Sonnie Abebaku. However, individuals are very helpful to us, it’s overall experience at the university that makes a difference in our academic lives. So far, my overall experience is just TERRIBLE!
Yesly Turcios
Yesly Turcios: GLEN DOMINA rudest person ever if you are working under a facility and a Student is inquiring on information/assistance you should be able to provide that at your upmost ability but unfortunately that was not the case here..
Danny Hirschfield
Danny Hirschfield: I graduated UDC-CC with an AA degree in Liberal Studies Fall Class of 2015 Alumnus. This college really helped me develop my learning skills as I am an older non-traditional student that started as a freshman with very little prior knowledge and discipline in academia. I have transitioned to the UDC flagship campus pursuing my BA degree in Political Science as a pre-law student. This university is the most affordable place to get a good quality education being the only public higher learning institution in Washington, D.C.
Jamilya Allen
Jamilya Allen: Okay So I applied about 3weeks to a month ago and I’ve yet to receive any papers informing me if I was missing any documents or etc. I’ve called at least 5 times a day for about two weeks straight leaving voicemail after voicemail and no one has yet to return my call not only did I call multiple times I have also emailed them multiple and no response. It’s ridiculous what’s the point of having an admissions office if they not even going to pick up the phone, guide you in the process of being admitted or anything else like you guys get paid to do nothing it’s sad.
h T
h T: This University has only good professors! But getting a Bachelor from the UDC will not get you a job!! Their jobs faire is just to get a website from the companies and brochures lol!
Jordan Stewart
Jordan Stewart: The financial aid lady with gray hair and dreads is disrespectful af. Most of the staff here are disorganized and rude. I disenrolled 2 months ago. When I went to disenroll the lady was eating crab legs in front of me. Come to find out she never really disenrolled me, and I had to go back up there today. Smh. I really wanted this to work bc I’m a Dc Resident but I’m enrolling at PGCC.

Thank you again for a great job. We our all truly grateful.

Omar Chaaban
Omar Chaaban: I wish I have taken these two cool courses CEH and Advanced Cyber War before. They are exactly to what I needed and expected. I have learned a lot of tips on how to use my expertise in performing offensive and defensive. The boot camp provided me enough knowledge and by studying during the 5 days period I was able to pass the CEH exam. I would recommend these coursed for those who are black Hat as well as white hat. Special thanks to our instructor Joe. Looking forward to take more follow up course in 2020.
Response: We greatly appreciate that you have chosen our course. We are glad to hear that you found the training sessions helpful. It is always good to hear that we have made a difference. Thank you for your review, and best wishes.

Jeremy Parker: 5/5 stars for SecureNinja!! Secure Ninja is an amazing Organization. Outstanding staff and experts training. Fuwad Tufail was fantastic!! Assisted me from registration up to the completion of the course. Answered all my questions in detail. Amazing person to work with, extremely detail oriented!!! Response: We greatly appreciate that you have chosen our course. We are glad to hear that you found the training sessions helpful. It is always good to hear that we have made a difference. Thank you for your review, and best wishes.
Steve Kadish
Steve Kadish: I travelled from New York to Virginia to attend SecureNinja’s week-long “Python Immersion” class, taught by Joe McCray. I was pretty excited about it. My excitement faded quickly. I guess I should have worried when I when I walked through the unlocked back door of the office building and was shown into a classroom without anyone asking my name or confirming my enrollment. I should have worried when there was only one other student in the class. I should have worried when SecureNinja’s Director of Customer Success had a Colorado phone number. By the end of the first day I had realized how bad this was going to be. You will not get immersed in Python in this class. Rather, you’ll occasionally get splashed with Python from Joe’s shallow pool of knowledge. This will mostly take the form of running other people’s scripts to automate offensive and defensive security tasks. Joe didn’t write most of the scripts, and sometimes doesn’t really know what’s in them. There was a lot of Googling to find answers to questions we asked. In the meantime, Joe expected us to learn Python the way HE learned it - from YouTube. He assigned it for homework - ten YouTube videos a night. Not Joe’s videos mind you. Just a series of Python tutorials posted five years ago by some young coder named Bucky. . There were no coursebooks. No hand-outs. No slide decks. There was just Joe, plowing through a bunch of text he’d put on PasteBin five years ago. Much of the text - the entire lesson on Regex, the entire lesson on Python classes - was pulled verbatim from other people’s lessons or articles. I could take the text and plug it into Google to find the original source material. Joe’s stuff is old. He teaches Python 2, despite the fact that it’s going to be deprecated in less than a year. The class material hasn’t changed much in the last five years. You can look at his PasteBin to see how he’s been copying from class to class for years. The software you use in the class is old. We used a copy of Olly Debug that was from 2004. On the second day, Joe laid out his philosophy on programming for us. Don’t be a programmer. Don’t get too involved in the syntax of any one language. All the interpreted languages are pretty much the same, anyway. Don’t code more than an hour a day. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Pretty much everything you’re looking for has been done by someone else and you can find it via Google. After a lot of emails back and forth between myself, my boss, and the SecureNinja Director of Customer Success, the class started to become less structured. This was both good and bad. Good because Joe was actually talking about stuff he knew, bad because it wasn’t about Python. He started pulling material from his other PasteBin “classes.” One morning was all about Web Application security testing. Basic SQLi & XSS stuff I learned ten years ago when I did my GSEC. We used SQLmap which is *written* in Python - does that count? On Friday Joe decided we were going to develop our own tools with Python. This was great except he had nothing prepared. So the day was just us trying to write our own scripts while Joe Googled stuff and read tutorials, trying to help but mostly working on his own on his laptop. At 1:45 pm he announced that class was over, because he had to get to the airport and fly to his next conference speaking gig. By the way, if you are considering paying SecureNinja $3,000 for one of Joe’s classes, first be aware that all of his lessons are publicly available on PasteBin. Also, that he sells his classes online at his other organization, InfosecAddicts, for considerably less money. Not to mention the fact that he has actually recorded a bunch of his LIVE classes and thrown them up on YouTube. But your $3,000 will get you lunch every day, and fancy smart whiteboards. So that’s what SecureNinja is good for. Meanwhile, if you want to learn to write Python scripts, maybe do it the way Joe did? Watch YouTube.
Response: Dear Steve Kadish, thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. It was an uncommon instance and we’ll do better. We would love to make things right if you give us another chance.

John Haider: A lot of information provided in such short time, pretty overwhelming, however, SecureNinja made sure I did well and helped me pass my CEH. Thank you guys so much

Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies: what do users think?
Hemant Gaule
Hemant Gaule: Great institution, excellent faculty and resources available to students. A lot of impressive events and conferences are hosted at the institute.
Amy Friedlander
Amy Friedlander: Like many others have said, the support staff, to include the Deans Office, is absolutely awful. Unhelpful, discourteous, unprofessional. I expected so much more from this institution, but the SCS is a disappointment and can only be described as a mediocre school at best.
Karina Valverde
Karina Valverde: I love being a student on campus again. In pursuit of my masters in Public Relations and Corporate Communications. This campus is for the grad school and certificate programs. The culture is professional, high caliber students.
Patrick Revord
Patrick Revord: Convenient location, beautiful building, great instruction and great classmates. Georgetown runs a class act, even away from its main campus.
Monica Puerto
Monica Puerto: I enrolled into the Data Science Certificate Program at Georgetown. It is a waste of money and your time unless you have a robust background in Python. Most students did not because this certificate program appears to help you turn into one. I have background in SQL and data analytics and was hoping to gather some skills to make me a data scientist. Although I understand that a certificate program can’t turn you into one (although the marketing and messaging of this makes it appear so with the “robust” curriculum). This was purely taught on slides and wish it was more hands on. It is very expensive and you don’t start learning till the 3rd class. The first class was an introduction on what is data science (around $900) for some powerpoint you could have read at home. Second class was to get into groups to create a data product on a process that you barely know about. I recommend General Assembly they are more hands on. Although they don’t have the prestigious name (which I think Georgetown takes advantage of to teach this way), you will learn more and actually do projects AFTER you learn the material. I thankfully dropped out and sadly was only refunded the classes I did not take although intro to data science and getting into groups does not feel like real classes..
Response: Dear Monica—Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding Georgetown SCS’s Data Science Certificate program. We’re sorry to hear that the program did not meet your expectations. We've received your feedback on the course and have worked to integrate improvements, including communicating the Python expectation and resources available to students. We invite you to speak further about your experience by contacting a staff member of the Center for Continuing and Professional Education by email at ccpeprograms@georgetown.edu or by calling 202-687-8128. Sincerely, Andrew (Office of the Dean, SCS Georgetown University)

Per Scholas: what do users think?
Sam J
Sam J: Asking where are you from or what is your first language during an admission interview after passing 2 assessments is questionable???!! ..i felt discriminated and not given a chance at all ,i had a high hopes for this program in order to change my life i guess i was wrong (NOTHING IS FREE)!
Samantha Trimmings
Samantha Trimmings: Positive: Communication, Quality, ValueI loved my experience at Per Scholas in Silver Spring, if I could get the opportunity to work with them again I definitely would! I was able to get my. I.T certification while also obtaining hands on training!! They are awesome 🤩
tony p
tony p: just a awful program!!! after they get you enrolled it will be all down hill. RONALD & MONDARRYL are rude, condescending, & flat out DISRESPECTFUL to adults. The addmission people are a joke and do NOT know the full scope of there job! Admission will say anything to get you in and then once your in KENYA director of student experience will not care about your experience. DO NOT ENROLL its a waste of time and PER SCHOLAS has a large number of students THAT DO NOT PASS THERE COURSE, the website is broken and they will blame you as the student and they are FULLY AWARE of the bugs. Most of the work you will be doing DOESNT APPLY OR HELP FOR TESTING! PER SCHOLAS IS A GIANT WASTE OF TIME. FLAT OUT THEY DONT CARE
Jwootheartist
Jwootheartist: I am dissapointed in Per Scholas technique to weed througg potential students. Standardized exams do not prove the ability of a student to complete and pass a training program. I honestly will never be great at Math and I am wise enough to stick to my craft, which is Listening, improvising, creating, concentration, percision, innovation, and the ability to think outside the box. I actually excelled in reading and application which is how one passes the Comptia Exams. Its about gaining knowledge that is at first abstract and applying it. Computing numbers is a small part of Network and Security, however listening and understanding and application is the core. If I already posses an A+ exam it proves I am more than capable. I feel standardizing is a way of filtering due to funds. I understand it is just business, but just know I am dissapointed that your funding is given to help people but it also discriminates against people like me who are an abatract learner. Sure I can pass next year, but attending a school that wants to standardize me to get in, but then wants me to excell and be great after is very contradicting and confusing. Btw I already passed a training program for my A+ and have been certified since 2012 2013. And i graduated with a 4.0.smh.
Response: Hi Jwootheartist. We're sorry that you didn't have a positive experience with Per Scholas. We work hard to make our admissions process as fair as we can, but we understand that we can always do better. We appreciate your feedback and we wish you all the best!

Response: Hi Degefa. We're sorry to learn that you didn't have a positive experience with Per Scholas during your application process. Although we don't have capacity to admit every applicant, we try to treat everyone with respect. We're grateful for your honest feedback and we will do our best to ensure that other applicants don't have the same experience.

Charles Y: The school does a great job of helping with standardized info needed to pass the Comp Tia exam. I have had a great experience.

Carolyn Taylor
Carolyn Taylor: This was a enjoyable experience, the seating was great for Covid safety . I would definitely attend an event here again
So far, my overall experience is just TERRIBLE!
angel almonte
angel almonte: One of the best experiences I have had as a student. The professors were extremely helpful in guiding me to obtain an education . The facility is improving and they have an excellent student center. The student body is very a diverse population. The administration staff are as friendly. as you are to them. In other words if you act a fool than expect to be treated as one. 😊
Response: We’re happy to hear about your experience. Thanks for leaving a great review!
