14th Snack Bar: what do users think?

Kev- keepingitreal: I Love this Place!!! Great Prices, Food and Customer Service!!! Awesome Grilled Chicken Salad With Great Flavor!!! This Place Needs Longer Hours of Operation...! But, it’s Still The Best Small Deli Shop in the DMV Area!!!

Timothy Boyd: Turkey sausage egg and cheese croissant with fried onions is amazing.I love the matriarchs that prepare my food.

CRYSTAL: Great food and prices! Lots of options on the menu. Nice people.

Christine Hazel: Coming here for 20 plus years and they're still just as yummy!!!😋 The grilled Chicken salad is still my top pick! Love them! Always good eats here!

Detrick Fagan: Good quick meal. Efficient service. My job will order breakfast often from there. Never a disappointment.

Basel K: Great place to grab good food. The customer service is awsome and so are the prices.

visalsok nou: I got steak and cheese combo. The taste is good, if u ever eaten steak n cheese at Ocean City's Boardwalk then this place is tasted better. They are very generous with French fried, I would say as much as super size fried at McDonald. Their Mombo sauce doesn't tasted like one. It is more like a ketchup BBQ sauce. A true Washingtonian would know what Mombo sauce supposed to taste like. The price was $7.99 for the combos (sandwich, big azz fried & can soda). Pretty cheap for amount of food u r getting. This is small place, so definitely is not meant for to u to sit and dine. Get ur food and bounce. It is pretty hot inside, I'm assuming the A/C is broken. The owner, the Korean lady's face was sweaty. She seems nice. The wait is not too bad. About 10 minutes wait for me since I didn't call ahead. Their menu is large, u should be able to find something to ur needs. Conclusion, this place is one of those places that u would return to eat there again.

Janine Green: The food is so so good! I usually always get the steak and cheese special and I am never disappointed! Also the staff is super friendly!!

M D: My go-to for a great breakfast!

Adolfo Suarez: Great food. Chicken salad is exquisite.

Morris American Bar: what do users think?

Martin Schmidt: nice atmosphere, slightly too much air-con , or we as European are not use it ?.. We ordered 2 espresso martini, they were average, So much vodka , and coffee was not strong enough. For my taste But their original cocktail were Bom !!! Jamaican twist on Manhattan super tasty . La Reina was soooo good , if you live tequila try this . Overall i would definitely go back
Response: Hi Martin! We are ecstatic to hear you found us all the way from Europe-- it was our pleasure having you! Thank you for taking the time to try our selection of cocktails and for this detailed review (we know a cocktail connoisseur when we meet one)! Looking forward to seeing you in the future !

Bradley Popkin: Swanky and cozy bar with two floors. Spent some time here with family and friends. Great cocktail selection and service. We were greeted quickly and everyone was friendly. I really appreciated the full-size Johnnie Walker figure outside lol.

Neil Patel: The staff are super friendly and accommodating. We ordered off the menu and were pleasantly surprised at how much we liked our drinks. The mocktails and zero proof drinks were great too!
Response: Neil, thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that you had a great experience and we hope to see you again soon!

Andrea Martin: Good drinks, good service. It’s across the street from where Google currently shows. Has an outdoor patio that feels much different than the indoor vibe
Response: We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your experience with Morris! Thank you for this great review!

Nirupa P: Good experience. We did the Halloween special & the drinks were good. We both got 3 drinks each & they were great. Our favorite was Noche de sueno & dia de muertos. Food menu were also limited. We got the devil eggs & they were good.

Jeff Wilson: All of the staff (especially Rhine and Rita) are absolutely amazing. I'd previously rated Morris 4 stars several years ago but they've definitely earned all 5. Fabulous cocktails, they can make anything you're feeling in the mood for. Always be on the look out for their special events, especially when they do Filipino food.
Response: Thank you for your kind words and 5-star review, Jeff! Looking forward to seeing you back with us in the future!

Rachel Lipton: The space was thoughtfully designed with a great bar but the drinks were a bit of a letdown - certainly not bad but I was expecting something a touch more exciting (I know they rotate monthly so I’ll be back to try some new ones soon) The vibe was also a touch quiet/empty which was a bit of a bummer since we were celebrating but perhaps it would have been better if we were there earlier or later

Adam Pusateri: Morris is without a doubt an absolute gem of a cocktail bar and my personal favorite. The bartenders are not only inventive but also thoroughly well-versed in classics and contemporary drinks. You can tell the whole team is proud of their bar, and it really shows. The seasonal menu is their own impressive creation, but make no mistake, they gladly take requests and offer new suggestions. Inside is a time capsule of a classic bar. The colors, décor, lighting, music – it is the perfect place for relaxing drinks. Outside is shaded and casual, exactly what you want for a group of friends. Other bars even the often lauded “Bests in DC” have fallen short of what Morris is consistently doing here in terms of quality, knowledge, skill, and service. You get way more than what you pay for here. As amazing as it all is, it is not at all stuffy. Everybody is friendly, easygoing, and enjoys what they are doing. This review is long overdue and could not be more well deserved. Morris often surprises, never disappoints, and after all their extra hard work during the pandemic, I cannot wait to sit at the actual bar again. Until then, cheers!
Response: Thank you so much Adam! So glad you enjoyed your experience.

byron subero: ..... my friends are the worst. They keep sending me places to go to. This was a nice spot. Drinks and the bartender was on point. Ask for Rita. She's a mixologist
Response: Hi Byron, sorry about your friends, but glad you discovered Morris!

Mohan Sun: Our favorite cocktail joint in town! The drinks are top-notch and reasonably-priced. We’ve been to other “good” places that charged $16 for a to-go cup. Morris beats that in so many aspects and it never disappoints. Everyone works there are super nice and knowledgeable. Doug, Ian and Rhine are skillful bartenders who can fix you up with almost any requests. They usually have seasonal cocktail menus and recently added low & non-alcohol drinks which is perfect for a person like me who can’t drink too much. I got Strawberry Kitty last time and it’s sooo good! If you want something refreshing, you NEED to get it! Please support their business. They work hard to stay afloat while continue to innovate great drinks during this difficult time.
Response: Thank you for your review and your support Mohan!

Exiles Bar: what do users think?

Molly Crabb: Exiles has been the go-to UNC bar during the tournament (and hopefully forever?) and going to all the games has been a BLAST. The waiters were SO accommodating and pushed through a packed room to deliver food with a smile. We had tech issues with the TV and they had multiple people come and try to fix and figured it out quickly! My 64 year old mom even had a good time and said she’d go back.

Shaina Eckles: Great drinks, fantastic atmosphere & super rad bathroom art.
Response: Thanks for the kind words Shaina. We really appreciate it!

Brian Webster: Loved this DC area Buffalonian bar! Exiles is a great location with awesome service, great food, and impressive drink selection. I got the wings (crispy and great) paired with a couple of Labatts, as well as a Catalonian Spritz that was refreshing. This place would be amazing to watch the Bills this fall!
Response: Cheers Brian, fingers crossed for a big year for the Bills

Amit S: The 5th best bar on u street apparently. I still have to find the first four. The whole team is rocking. Good time guaranteed. Love you all!!!

Christopher Williams: A wonderful neighborhood bar. The owners and staff will make you feel at home. Nice outdoor patio with a “hook game.”

kareem shaban: 5 star average! 6 stars for their excellent service, fantastic vibe, outdoor space, great beer, and overall "neighborhood bar" feel! Every bartender is a gem and the owners know their clientele. 4 stars for not discounting their merchandise that says "U Street's 5th Best Bar" now that they are U Streets 3rd best bar.
Response: Kareem thank you for your comments. We are honored to welcome you and your sparkly jackets every single time. We believe in staying humble by being humble, though its sometimes difficult for us. We are working on new t-shirts, watch this space!

Shahnaz Punjani: Nice atmosphere. Friendly with great service. Just what I was looking for. A place to have a drink and chill.
Response: Thank you very much Shahnaz. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Alvin H: Visited this place on the night of my birthday Oct 24. The atmosphere was cool, it was karaoke night so people were having a good time. They had the World Series on multiple flat screens and a projector screen as well. Ordered a burger and fries, and a drink named after Bush's daughter.

Alain Parcan: As a sworn Stetsonite, I never wanted to admit I liked exiles as much as I did but if it isn’t one of the best bars in dc to get a beer and decent bar food, I dunno what is

Toby Willse: Awesome bar! Great beer selection, fun vibes, chill employees. Will be going back whenever I'm in the area.
Response: Thank you for the kind words Toby. Come back and see us next time.

Brookland's Finest Bar and Kitchen: what do users think?

Yolanda P.: Nice vibe and good food! The music selection was great...the DC vibe was appreciated (Chuck Brown ❤)! Not black-owned for those who are curious. We had shrimp and grits, salmon, vegan curry, and spicy greens. I wasn't a fan of the autumnal sangria...wish it was sweeter! I was so glad to taste a delicious vegan option. I fell in love with the the vegan curry...it had a great kick and was very tasty. I was worried that it wouldn't be good because of the squash but it was well seasoned and mesh of seasonal vegetables. They definitely offer good comfort food options. My dining partner said the grits were too cheesy but I overall enjoyed the food. We sat at the bar but there was plenty of seating available. Not overly crowded but decent crowd.

Bobbi DeAnda: The cheese grits were the best I’ve ever had in my life! Service was great. Good food. Cheap drinks. Glad we went!

René und Céline Gürtler: Sensationally good burgers (including pulled pork) and beers. Super location in a wonderful neighborhood. A visit to this restaurant is absolutely recommended.

Jessa L: Excellent everything. Sour beer was so pretty and such a great combo of sour, fruity & creamy. Catfish was perfecting cooked, Coates and seasoned. The greens weren't overcooked or too salty (often happens) and the mac was nice & creamy. My server was very kind, attentive and prompt. Highly recommend & will be back!

Brandon Sousa: I just love this neighborhood staple. Great standard pub fare is a bit elevated, and complimented with awesome specials over the week (check their website). I like sitting at the bar and enjoying their cocktails and beer, and what makes this place special is the friendly and quick service. It’s owned by a neighborhood guy and you can tell the place has the feel of a well-loved and well taken care of local hangout. Brookland is lucky to have it.

Lamina Richardson: My first time dinning and i was very satisfied. The shrimp and grits was really good however the serving size could be tad bit bigger for the price. The Oreo cheesecake was also really good.

Kailah S: Went for brunch on our way to the Van Gogh exhibit. Took 5-10 minutes to get seated. 30 minutes to get water after asking a person who I assume was management, for something to drink. Finally was able to get an order in and watched our food sit under the lights for 18 minutes after it was done cooking before our server brought it to us. Husband ordered waffles, I ordered yogurt and Tony's breakfast club, and beignets. The meal was decent. But the timeliness really affected our experience and other tables too. At one point our neighboring table who was seated before us was like how long does it take? Thankfully, my pregnant self spoke up, because we probably would have walked out like the two tables the hostess mentioned to another waiter when he was bringing their waters over.

Paul G: Incredible vibe and great food. Can’t recommend the onion rings enough. And a dog friendly patio with water bowls is enough to keep me coming back over and over again!

Njeri Jarvis: Food is pretty much always good. Sometimes the service gets wonky. No one is touching their waffles, chicken and fries for brunch. Their salad are good as well.

Joseph Kennedy: The food tasted alright, but tortilla doesn't present a sane way to capture egg yolk, so you'll be trying to get it off the plate with a fork, and they don't seem to offer coffee refills, despite every traditional restaurant from a diner to a hotdog stand doing that for over a century. If having your pinky up means you need to go to Dunkin or Starbucks afterward to finish what their coffee didn't do, you have to take a star off. The food digested well. The waitress was fantastic and they didn't chase us away from the table until its next reservation came due. They also didn't make us wait for our fourth table member to arrive, so that wins them back a star. The grilled cheese looked good.

Solly's: what do users think?

Aubri O'Connor: Hands down my all time favorite dive-bar in DC, and I say that with tons of love and respect. There is no pretension here, and all are welcome, you won’t go broke drinking, you can bring your to-go food, and there’s always something fun to do! Aside from their massive, excellent cover patio that lets you watch all the fun of U St, there are also two bars inside. Downstairs is where all the regulars begin and end their night, where the owners are just as likely to be behind the bar as the employees. Upstairs they hold events almost every night of the week - from comedy, to trivia, to bands, to plays. And of course Kostume Karaoke every Thursday, which is a crazy night of doing shots with the KJs on your birthday, and meeting crazy strangers wearing tiaras or judo gis (provided by the karaoke hosts) to sing! The walls tell the history of the bar, especially behind the bar and in the bathrooms. But the bartenders and regulars will tell you just as easily themselves - and what a long crazy history it’s been! Ask them about when the car crashed through the window, or the Caps won the Cup, or the neighbors almost sent it all crashing down during an ill-fated renovation. This is no a fancy dress up joint - although no one thinks twice if you walk in looking your best. You come here to be comfortable, to have well poured, affordable drinks, to have the bartenders become your besties, to meet your new best friends just chilling at the bar.

Quinten Goovaerts: Exceptionally good! Best bar and bartender in town! Lots of different drinks: many beers (local and international) and a lot of really good whiskey's We came there for a quick drink but it was so nice we stayed really long! Super friendly owner and always up for nice chat! I recommend this bar to everyone!!!

Scott Hughes: Solly’s is a perfect two-story dive bar. Memorabilia galore, cheap whiskey, and great service. There’s an ATM inside, Big Buck Hunter arcade game in the corner, and always amazing music playing. Ask for Antoine when you arrive.

Brittany Jeffries: I had a wonderful time at Sollys. I love to karaoke and have been bar hopping around the city trying to find a place. This one is pretty cool. I went in Thursday around 8pm and the bar is upstairs. There is a stage, costumes, and 3 mics available. Sound quality is dope, nice song selection. People actually participated in dressing up as well. I sang about 4 songs and had like 6 drinks LOL. Bartender was amazeballs. I had a fantastic night and can't wait to return.

Edward Kennedy: Went here before a show at the 930 club. Matt the bartender was great. He really knows his stuff. Def will stop by here again.

Richard Derrico: Good local working class bar. Friendly quick. staff. A bit grungy, but that's the character. Good place if your tired of the bling.

Anthony Oakes Comedian: They have great drinks upstairs. I think Quinton is the bar tender. Awesome Starr Struck Comedy shows. Good times were had.

Jessica Williams: If you're looking to tour the real of D.C. and U street, Solly's is definitely a stop you need to make. Real, unique, and a hidden gem that let's you escape the world but still watch it through a windowed nook with beer

Igor at skvltd.media: Fantastic and consistent U st bar with awesome staff, drink specials, and food!

Harriet M: A great dive bar! Friendly bartender, good prices and most importantly ice cold beer! Stayed in the neighbourhood during a recent trip to DC and come to Solly’s twice. Would recommend!

ChurchKey: what do users think?

C Yager: Great craft beer bar, knowledgeable bar staff, 50 beers on tap, wish they had less national/big craft beers on tap and more local. Extensive beer bottle list with hard to find beers, especially good Belgium beer selection. Fast friendly service, hard to notice from the street. Definitely recommend a visit if you love beer.

Jonathan Isett: Top notch selection of craft beers in DC. Also one of the most extensive whiskey/ bourbon catalogs around. Atmosphere is good, and the food comes through. The homemade tots are a must have. Great location on 14th st close to Logan circle. Stop and have a beer or two.

Rossukon Jandech: Beer Brunch Event on June 25th, 2022Great event, great employee, great service.Meet famous brewers there as well, so awesome.

Jeremy Krantz: During a week-long trip in DC, I spent most, if not all of my evenings at ChurchKey. As a craft beer aficionado, this is pretty much a mecca when it comes to beer and their selection is hard to match. You may wonder what's so special about this place and let me tell you straight up that it is their beer. There's little point is coming for wine, or cocktails (although they're not bad at all!) but really what sticks out is their craft beer. They have 50 taps and 500+ of bottles available as well as 5 rotating casks. It's hard to beat. My wife and I got to know the staff really well after a few trips there and they were all super friendly, knowledgeable and they made our experiences there very memorable. I cannot wait to return for many more trips when in town. One pro tip I recommend to everyone is to ask for their master beer list known as "The Bible" which is frequently updated and will allow you to figure out what's available since their selection is so extensive.

Taylor Friedman: I love churchkey but the service here needs improvement. I’ve been twice since they reopened with the latest being a Saturday night around 11:30. Busy but not crazy. Was able to find a seat at the bar. After I sat down it took at least 5 minutes just to get a bartender to acknowledge me. Was handed food and drink menus. After that probably another 5 minutes to get my order in. I thought it was weird that the bartender didn’t provide water when I sat down. I feel that it’s customary to do so at a bar as so not to make people drunk quickly. After I ordered my second drink I placed an order for food as well and was told the kitchen closed at midnight. That would have been helpful to know as I got there at almost quarter til so that was annoying. Shortly before I left there was also a guy at the bar who was passed out and one of the bartenders slammed a bottle really hard on the counter to wake him up and I thought that was kind of unnecessary. All in all, definitely a craft beer Mecca but just keep in mind service can be kinda spotty. (P.S.- they made the place brighter after they reopened so you can actually see going up that long flight of stairs and the menu once you’re inside!)

Levi Wasmundt: It's easy to get overwhelmed by the vast selection of beers on tap, but their menu organizes them well and the bartenders are very helpful in pointing you in the right direction. Ours also offered us samples before we ordered full pours. Good job ChurchKey. Cheers!

Tom W: Great list of beers. Nothing I was too interested in and I love me some craft beers. But that’s not their fault, that’s my palate. The issue was the service being absolute trash when the bar wasn’t even busy and they had ample staff. Drinks took about a half hour to come out so we ended it early and just left.
Response: Hello Tom, I am very sorry to hear about your experience. Thank you for your feed back. We appreciate any kind of feed back that can help us improve. I would love to hear more about your time here. If you would be able to email me at dpitcher@neighborhoodrestaurantgroup.com. Best regards, Dylan

Joe Perretta: Unfortunately, churchkey is the best beer bar for 100 miles. The beer is exceptional and it has reopened without missing a beat in terms of selection. The service is some of the worst for 1000 miles. And let's not blame a worker shortage, it's bad training. Nobody really knows the bottle list, most servers don't know an ale from a lager. I'm glad I had my wine key on me after my own bartending shift elsewhere because my server, who was very kind and affable, couldn't open the bottle I ordered. One of the worst staff training programs in town. I also had to convince another server that I didn't want a taster or full pour, because I had ordered a bottle. Fortunately, the clientele is, mostly, as ambivalent as management so there's no real impact to any of this. But it's just the most amateurish beer institution on the east coast. I'll continue to begrudgingly give NRG my money, but man oh man does it make you hateful to have to open your own bottles after a long shift. I really so hate churchkey.

A small cat (cat): We sat upstairs and it had a better vibe. It does have the same menu as downstairs. There were regular booths, high booths, and bar, tables. Good water. Nice decor. Great atmosphere. We ordered the tator tots - good flavor, wish more crispy on the outside like a thicker layer of it, more like mashed potato inside, salty but not too salty. The chicken and waffles were good but not my favorite. They probably just weren't my flavor profile I like. My husband loved them. The music was loud but not too loud. There were TV's at the bar. A great place to go hang out and have some grub.

Robert Last: Loved this place. Lot's of good beers. Great bartenders and service. I didn't get to try the food this trip.

Ben's Next Door: what do users think?

E Gilbert: My best friend came into town and we want to do something fun so we went to Ben Next Door we had a ball. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious 😋. The music selection was on point to match the unlimited mimosas that came in 3 types cranberry, pineapple, or orange juice. I will definitely be visiting again soon. The only thing I did not like were the bathrooms they were not being kept up at all I went to the two located towards the back and the back of the toilet was missing from one hopefully this will be fixed. But there was toilet paper, running water, and soap so I was good. I definitely recommend checking out the brunch here.

Philip Wilson: This spot has been a neighborhood staple for more than a decade.. and the only thing consistent - is their inconsistency. I came back today after taking a 5/6 month break and I'm underwhelmed. The new decor is blue and black, which almost never does well in a space that's designed to be a restaurant. Blue is an appetite killer. And with the new pallette, they've done away with the amazing local art that used to adorn the walls. The new calamari blend came out burnt and chewy.. I couldn't eat it. The new chicken tender coating is great. I wasn't excited about paying 20 for a cocktail, but that seems to be the price point for their top shelf spirit. Looks like I'll be on another 6 month hiatus.

Aaron Wilson, Jr.: Brought the family here during our trip to D.C. and glad we came! I was wary when the Uber pulled up and I felt the club vibes pulsating out of the front door...we had the progeny with us. (Side note...I would have hated to try to find parking. Uber or walk if you can.) Hostess took us through the front, by the bar, past the open area of seats and up the stairs to a loft area that was away from the bar and had another family sitting there as well. Our waitress came and apologized for the wait in getting to us (it wasn't THAT long but the gesture was appreciated). She was friendly and very responsive, even jovial with the kids. Our food came correctly and without delay...and maaaaan was it good! Collectively, we had the chicken and waffles, grits, quesadilla and cheese fries. There's always a concern when having chicken and waffles because chicken breast can be dry depending on who cooks them...Ben hooked it up. Benny was moist. Benny was juicy. Benny was what we call...delectable. Topped it all off with the cheesecake and the bread pudding....zero complaints all around. Definitely returning when we come back to DC.

Makeda Fox: The food was sooo good !! I got the shrimp and grits, along with the bread pudding for dessert. Very flavorful, the vibe was amazing. Our waiter Kash was very entertaining, attentive and funny. BEST waiter EVER. 10/10 I recommend!!

JENNii: Good spot for a casual Sunday brunch with friends. It’s right next to the famous ben’s chili bowl on U street. They food and service was good as well. I would definitely come back to this restaurant.

Toshia Brown: Very nice vibe, excellent food, no mambo sauce or cornbread muffins but the kale was so scrumptious and tender; seasoned to perfection

Bryanna Edwards: Ronnie is my boy! I met him my first time and fell in love. But then came when he was off and I regret it. But anyway the food is amazing and I love Ronnie's service! He is the best! This is my go to for my "mom date" every Friday early happy hour. Will keep coming back!!!

Gaelle Claude: The service may be a bit slow but their food is pretty good. I tried their burger and it was amazing! The picture may seem basic but it was bomb! I’ve been there on occasions where I ordered the chicken and waffle, which I would rate 7/10 because the chicken is a bit salty. I loved the cocktail I ordered I believe it’s called a chi-chi colada.. amazing! 10/10. The fish and grits is pretty good, I would rate it 8/10. My friend says the salmon meal was decent but she didn’t enjoy the sugar on her sweet potato fries. Due to slow service over all experience is 7/10

Josephs Boy: I really enjoyed this place & the owner was really nice. I enjoyed the history of the restaurant that was shared. I sat outside it was live but I enjoyed it. The Jerk Pasta was delicious and the mambo wings were the perfect appetizer (u can always tell when people take pride in what they serve). I will definitely be back my next trip to DC.

ajia brown: Ate brunch here and the food and atmosphere was perfect. Black owned restaurant filled with lots of people the line is always LONG

Crimson DC: what do users think?

Tahoma Lewis: Love the casual atmosphere! Our server was polite and attentive. The food was good. The pickled deviled eggs were esthetically pleasing and delicious. I had never had them before, and was not disappointed.

Arielle H: I have only had experience on the rooftop. We actually stumbled upon it one day. We walked in looking to just sit at the bar and one of the employees said why don’t you check out the rooftop and we said heck yeah! The views are great, the service is fairly fast, and the drinks were even better. - Will definitely be returning in the midst of summer.

Jenna DeFosse: Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience here. The service was extremely slow. Had to wait one hour for food! I have never had such a poor experience at a restaurant, this was very unfortunate. We just sat waiting and waiting for food…It was incredibly hard to flag someone down so after waiting one hour went up to someone and asked how much longer for the food. We deduced that the order was never put in originally because the food then arrived 20 mins later. Other patrons seemed to be having similar experiences. Food not coming, other customers left because food was taking so long. They seemed short staffed but the service was not good. It was expensive for these sub-par burgers. I’ve heard the rooftop bar is nice, so I’ll hold out for that.

S. K. Hill: Finally, I was able to visit Crimson and I loved it. From the awe-inspiring rooftop view of downtown DC to the very cool Whiskey Bar on the lower level, Crimson hit the ball out of the park. I loved their old-bay wings, kettle chips and ciders (apple and pineapple). It is in a great location in Chinatown. I will definitely come back here again and again. Easily FIVE STARS.

Nikkicole8890: I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for my trip to DC and we visited the rooftop bar while we were here! We loved the views and the drinks were good! He ordered a charcuterie board for us to share and it was amazing aside from the hunk of hard Parmesan they served us (it would'vemade more sense if it were Gouda or Munster)... they didn't give us any utensils originally so I had to go to the bar and ask and they only had plasticware which it was almost impossible to cut through the hard block of parmesan cheese we were served.. so that's why I took a star off. Otherwise, our experience and the ambiance was amazing!

BA R: Chinatown in D.C. Lucky for us the only place opened after 9 P.M on a Tuesday night. Great ambience. Good food. And they have a Whiskey Bar downstairs w/ live music. 10/10 we’ll be back.

Matthew Copper: When other dining establishments in the neighborhood had at least an hour wait, we stumbled upon Crimson. The seated us quickly and the service and food was wonderful! Will definitely be returning!!

Jack Kelly: A very busy venue with an exceptionally odd policy of confiscating water bottles of patrons in case they contained alcohol. I have been to countless bars, clubs, restaurants, taprooms and so on and have never ever encountered such a bizarre policy. We were a small group (4 adults) joining a small group (4-5 adults again) plus an infant which made the confiscation even more bizarre. The elevators are more protected than Fort Knox. The top floor was closed for a private event, but the host accidentally pressed the top floor button. She asked us to step out of the elevator (reminder, with infant so it was more of a nuisance than just adults) so the elevator could run up to the exclusive top floor party empty (because we weren’t even allowed near it let alone ride the elevator directly up and directly down). When it returned the host had to swipe her card and press the correct button to send it down to the basement. Again, countless bars, restaurants, venues and heck even corporate offices and have never experience something like that. Two truly bizarre incidents that soured an otherwise pleasant venue which leaves me with no desire to return and no reason to recommend to others. The food is good but the service messy and slow.

Lavada Walker: Well well well, how I just stumbled upon Brunch on The View. I was very undecided between Shrimp and Grits or the Brioche French Toast. I decided to go with the Shrimp and Grits, Wow!!!! It was sooooo darn good. If you want some good eats and drinks with a beautiful view hit up Crimson Saturday and Sunday 12pm-3pm

Dhruv Jaiswal: Great whiskey bar in the heart of DC ! A must try if you love whiskeys, they have all kinds of collections from all sorts for regions in the country and world ! The food is great as well ! Do try out the place and the rooftop in the great weather

Coco Eva: AbsolutelyLoved it the veggieOmelette was delicious the toast and wedges 😋, the drinks were great according to my girls. My OJ was just fine and the waffles was nice. Check my girl out she had big fun.
Response: Thank you Coco

N. Moore: Brunch music and food were good, parking was tricky, but had a nice time. Bottomless mimosas a plus!
Response: Thank you for the review. glad we met your expectations!

Isaiah I-Say-ah Walker: The decor is underwhelming, we were seated in a long double sided booth, due to size of are party. However, the bench cushion had many visible burn holes making it very unattractive! We were then moved to long table with high chairs, that was much better for our group. The customer service was basic with no enthusiasm! I will say the food was good, not great! My Sangria had too much ice in it, making it slightly watery. However, my mimosa was perfect and had me nice and tipsy by time I left!
Response: Isaiah- I am sorry we did not provide you a better experience. I will have a talk with the staff about their enthusiasm coupled with their service. Glad the mimosas served their purpose ultimately- please email me directly taz@barcodedc.com if you change your mind about returning.

Tatyana Morena: I came here from out of town for my birthday weekend and this place did not disappoint. The pizza is amazing and the service is great!! The blue magic cocktail is chefs kiss. I had to compliment to the owner. The ambiance is amazing. The DJ is awesome , a very mature and elegant experience.
Response: Thank you so much for the review. Glad you enjoyed yourself

Herbert Newby: Went there during the night club hours to celebrate a friend's marriage. We bought 2 hookahs, 2 bottles, and a bunch of Red Bulls and had a great time. The DJ was 🔥 and the crowd was very diverse, consisting of 20 to 50 y.o., Black, White, Brown, & African.
Response: Glad you had a good time- we appreciate the review

GOD SON: been to their Sunday brunch twice and it’s the best!!! its always super packed, please go early to have the best experience. And if they send you an email saying to make a reservation, do it! That way you don’t have to wait too long outside. The DJs are always good. Plays hip hop, dancehall, Afro beats. The day party is a lot of fun.
Response: Thank you for your review-

garet thompson: Stopped by at 1:00 for brunch, my girl friend and I ordered a plate of French toast, eggs, fries, and bacon to share. Bill came out to $52. Don’t understand how one Plate of food came out to $52. No prices on the menu. Average Food shouldn’t be over priced like that..
Response: Hello , sorry for your experience with us at Barcöde. We work hard to please everyone with our food. I will note that the menus do in fact contain pricing- BRUNCH MENU - $40 PER PERSON BRUNCH INCLUDES ONE ENTREE AND TWO MIMOSAS OR TWO SANGRIAS I would hope you would try us again.

Honeycomb31 T: Went for Brunch. Good food, great music, nice atmosphere and affordable. Brunch included 2 drinks. Parking was scarce as it always is in DC. I highly recommend this place!
Response: Thank you taking the time to make this posting!

Lynn O.: Very unprofessional people working. Me and my friends made a reservation for 6 people and showed up a few minutes before our reservation only to be told it would still be over an hour wait. When we asked what the point of make a reservation was the hostess just stuck out her lip and shrugged. Terrible experience. Don’t bother making a reservation even though they suggest you do so on the website and when you call. Your time will be wasted.
Response: Lynn O- I apologize for your experience. This is not usually the case. If you would be so kind to give me further details so I can work to prevent such an occurrence again. Taz@barcodedc.com

María Marshall: I enjoyed visiting Barcode with friends. We were welcomed and enjoyed the outdoor seating to freely smoke our hooka and cigars. The ladies provided excellent service. In the inside you can enjoy a medley of adult libations to go with the sounds of the music. If you are a local DMV artist this is a great place to have your album release party. The young and grown converge here for fun.
Response: Thank you for your review!

Boundary Stone: what do users think?

Mỹ Phan: The best customer service experience since Covid started! I got the Honey Hot Chicken for my entrée, which was amazing. As for my drink, I’m pretty specific as to what I like. I asked for the sweetest drink on the menu and my waitress debated with the bartender to create the best drink that fitted me perfectly. Highly recommend this spot!!

Michael Peterson: A decent restaurant bar. We arrived for brunch and their were ample seating. The mimosas came in a regular glass cup. The taste might have been better if it were served in a traditional flute. Had the deviled eggs which were good, but nothing to rave about. The hot honey chicky benny was delectable!

Austin Federau: This pub had a nice atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. We tried the Irish Coffee, which was not to our liking. The hot chicken sandwich was good. Overall, the bar had a welcoming vibe but the food and drinks we tried weren’t to our liking. Would come here again.

Greg Durbin: I've always loved Boundary Stone but today they really stepped it up by giving my family our own private space last minute. Thanks for being great. Also the honey hot chicken was insane!
Response: Thanks for bringing the family Greg! See you again soon for more Honey Hot Chicken!

Lavender Kelley: Great neighborhood bar and pub grub spot with fun staff and a relaxed atmosphere. The menu is just now re-expanding from the pandemic and all the additions are well worth your time! Also, who doesn't love happy hour?

India Lindsay: Food and drinks were very average. The happy hour has some nice deals and it's one of the few spots in DC you don't need a reservation. The outside is a cute spot to eat. It's pretty dark and dimly lit on the interior.

Paul Donaldson: Bounty Stone is a charming neighborhood bar that serves good food and great service. My son had a steak and I had the fried chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. Eat inside or outside on the front patio.

Scott Jordan: They have impeccable service, an equally impeccable spirits selection. Kayla our was amazing and made my trip to DC worth it. The food and the drinks were on point. If you are in NW DC check it out. It is well worth the trip.

Kenny Myers: Excellent burger and pretty good beer selection! Also had a fantastic peach cobbler for dessert last time I went. Update: Brunch here is also really really good! Had the honey hot serial Benny and the cinnamon roll was delicious.

Brittany M: Love this place! Great food, bartenders are cool. Hubby and I got free mimosas with our entree. One of the best low key brunch spots in DC

The Pub & The People: what do users think?

Ethan Z: Great Restaurant!! This Restaurant is in the city area and offers indoor and outside seating!! The menu is rather small but the food and drinks were great!! The wait staff were friendly and professional!! The restaurant was also clean and well presented. The bathrooms are coolly decorated too with people sending pictures in of there family pets in to be featured on the wall. Overall great!

Becky Gomez: Such a great spot for a lonely, taveling vegetarian! 😂 Bar service was superb and a delightful vibe. Great beer selection. Perfect shishitos 🌶️ and tempura cauliflower!

AJ Hendricks: Pub and the People is our favorite outdoor spot in Bloomingdale. The beers they have on tap are great, and the food (specifically, the Black Bean burger and "The Heidi" Fried Chicken sandwich) is very solid. The tempura cauliflower sauce is also amazing. Matt, the manager, is very friendly and just a welcoming face to see when you come in. This radiates through the whole staff. The happy hour specials are awesome, and run for most of the day on the weekends. Enjoy!

Parker Kelley: Very great experience here ! We’ve passed this place numerous times and I’ve always said I wanted to try it. So, we finally did ! I ordered the Heidi chicken sandwich which was very tasteful. It came with a side of fries which were also very good. The service was great - 3 or 4 people continuously came to check on us. I’d definitely eat here again.

Bobbi DeAnda: Such a great brunch spot! The outdoor patio is pup friendly (and the bathroom inside is a must see for dog lovers haha). The biscuits and gravy with fried chicken was TO DIE FOR. So yummy! Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Callum Wayman: A great local pub for people in Eckington and Bloomingdale. The pub offers a great selection of beers, wine, and cocktails as well as an excellent food menu (try the tempura cauliflower, chicken sandwich, and the fries). In the winter they offer group seating around large fire pits for small gatherings. I found that to be a huge boon when trying to gather friends outdoors while being mindful of COVID during the winter. The staff are nice and helpful.

Amy Burdon: Had dinner and played trivia - food menu was fairly short but with lots of tasty items - I enjoyed the curry wings and gazpacho. Staff were friendly, happy hour drinks were a good deal. All positives!

India Lindsay: Very friendly, cute neighborhood joint. Food and drinks are all pretty good. The wait staff are so friendly and laid back. It's a great spot for a casual drink after work or meeting up with a few friends in an easy-going atmosphere

Daniel Albert: Not sure what happened to this place. The drinks we got were fine, but the food was pretty subpar. Got the Cuban sandwich and the fries that came with it were way too peppered and salty. The food used to be great here. The vibe is still good - cozy and perfect for winter time.

Sanderson Tattersall: OK, I've reviewed a lot of restaurants, and this one was a chance encounter. Trip to DC, Air BNB nearby, popped in on our last night. Very cool decor, loved the shelving behind the bar with the books and booze mixed, industrial chic. Waitress was great, bartender was great, food was even better. My family of four all got different burgers and sandwiches and all were fantastic. Taps were pretty stellar and they had my favorite Great Lakes Brewing Co. beer, the Elliot Ness. My only regret is not actually living in the area so I can go back. TLDR definitely recommended. Get your A in here.

Elias Chelala: Awesome location with a cool vibe. They have an enormous selection of cocktails and delicious food. Make sure to try their spicy fried chicken sandwich which is very juicy and crispy. If you plan on visiting make sure to bring proof of vaccination. The prices are reasonable for the area and the service was decent! I will visit service bar again!

Kara Clark: Small bar with great food and drinks. Fried chicken sandwiches are stacked and cooked perfectly with seasons. Drinks menu are listed from light to strong. I do wish the food options was more but overall happy with the pick! Drinks absolutely great! Your bill will add up however, it was a bit pricey but overall great food. The bar is a bit small but they have outdoor eating areas as well.

Besart Ç.: Epic spot. Went for friend's birthday. The bar looked just like any other casual DC bar. But once you order your first drink, you quickly realize this is one of the best cocktail bars in DC. Their drinks are phenomenal: liquid nitrogen, fresh ingredients, top tier alcohol, and amazingly talented bartenders. On that note, the bartenders were absolutely awesome lads! Loved chatting with them. They even gave us free shots for our friend's bday. Looking forward to next time guys! (Too sad I was too focused on drinking the cocktails so I forgot to take some pics, but these are some snaps from a video)

Monica R S: The fried chicken is soooooo good! Food was overall delicious. The old fashioned was good. Service was good too. We sat outside and it was sufficiently heated.

Rebecca Kaufman: One of my favorite places to get cocktails in DC. They have such a great and wide selection of different specialty cocktails with plenty of different liquor options to choose from. They also always have seasonal options that change often as well as a great selection of small bar foods.
Response: 🤘🏼

Lani: Casual bar with good drinks. You can only sit 1 hour and 30 mins. The food was about a 6/10, we got burgers and mozzarella balls.

Kelly Wiley: What a great little place with excellent drinks and food! Cullen was super knowledgeable about the menu items and the specifics of each drink! They have stellar homeade ginger beer!
Response: 🙌🏼

Mark Orebiyi: On the search for the best Fried Chicken Sandwich in the DMV my team and I came across Service Bar. I highly recommend this restaurant. They are known for their cocktails but this sandwich was devine. Solid portion as well (fries come separately). I would put them in my top 5 (and this was our 21 place). Our server, Cullen, was extremely informative and accommodating. I will be back.

Saminda Wijegunawardena: Really dope spot. Tons of character, and characters. Provocative cocktails, tempting bites.Great decor and art. It's got all the NW vibes.

Blake Arrington: Good drinks and great chicken The fried chicken meal is the best bang for you buck coming with 3 sides and 2 chicken thighs for $20, I definitely recommend it Make sure you try the original fried chicken. The Nashville hot is good but not as good as the original which has a honey glaze. The atmosphere is a very bar feel inside. If you sit outside they did a good job of turning the street into a nice seating area but it is very loud with cars driving past Would come again to just get the chicken to go

Hawk 'n' Dove: what do users think?

Danira Ortiz: This spot has a lot of character. I was here for a work dinner with a group of people so we had a prix menu. Very limited. The food was bland. The regular food outside our section did look much more colorful and tasty so hopefully it tastes better but I would not recommend it for a group outing. The server was not helpful at all. I asked what the chicken was stuffed with. His reply was “stuffing”. It ended up being stuffed with mushrooms and prosciutto which was fine but the staff should definitely be more informed, especially when assigned to a group with such a limited menu. The chowder was the best part.
Response: Hello Danira Ortiz, Thank for your review we value your feed back.

Elizabeth Wong: I come here a lot for brunch. We really enjoy the quiet, easy-going atmosphere, the good is good too. We have had a couple blunders where the cooks do not understand what scrambled eggs cooked well done means, but other than that, it's still one if our favorite places to grab breakfast!
Response: Hello Elizabeth, Thank you for the taking the time to write the review. We appreciate your feedback.

Nik Kei: Great time and wonderful bartender. Nice environment. Local whiskeys and a few locals brews. Food was good.
Response: Hey Nik Kei thank you for taking the time to write the review. I'm glad to hear that you had a great time with us.

Joe Burkett: Came in today with 20+ people after being disrespected next door at Tune Inn. Staff here were extremely accommodating to our situation. Good beer, good food and good people. 5 star easy for how we were treated. Food was tasty and for those saying overpriced, it’s rare you get any decent sandwich or burger for less than prices here nowadays. Especially a popular DC location. The fries were real good too.
Response: Hello Joe, Glad to hear you had a great time here at Hawk n Dove. Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

Scott Hayes: Very cool decor. Started in the late 1960’s, this a great restaurant. Our party enjoyed the brunch on Sunday. Eggs Benedict was excellent. My favorite was the tomato basil scramble. Blueberry pancakes were also positively reviewed
Response: Hello Scott, Glad to hear you had a great time here at Hawk n Dove. Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

chparatrooper88: Deviled eggs are very good. Late lunch was good. A bit pricey even for D.C.
Response: Hello Chparatrooper88, Thank you for the taking the time to write the review. We appreciate your feedback. I'm just glad that we provide a great atmosphere for you.

Rikk Lewis: Liked the food. We had a Reuben and salad. Service was top notch. No complaints at all. Be aware that they play CNN on their TVs versus other quality news shows (seems to be the case DC wide). Also, be prepared to pay a bit more than the food is worth, they are proud of it. Would visit again.
Response: Hello Rikk, Thank you for taking the time to rate us!

Karl Van Neste: My wife went for a bike ride around the mall and capitol hill and stopped by the Hawk 'n' Dove for lunch. We had one of the best lunch meals I have had in months. I had a blackened chicken sandwich and my wife had a tasty steak salad. For downtown DC, it was also reasonably priced.
Response: Hey Karl thanks for the amazing review . We are happy to hear that you had a great time here at Hawk n Dove

Chris Atkins: Great people, place and atmosphere. They are always personable and accomodating. If you're on the hill, this is definitely a spot to have a few drinks and enjoy some laughs.
Response: Thanks Chris for the taking the time to write the review. We appreciate your feedback. I'm just glad that we provide a great atmosphere for you.

Jeremy Brake-Zacherl: First time here, was pretty busy but got a table right away! Drinks came quickly. Burgers are really good! We had Cali burger and spicy burger and we enjoyed both of them! If you live in town or visiting, I highly suggest checking them out!

Round Robin Bar: what do users think?

Caitlin Cordova: The Round Robin Bar is the perfect place to have a cocktail during the holidays when you’re downtown to see the National Christmas Tree. Located inside the Willard Hotel, which is a work of art in itself, the circular Bar serves cocktails and a full menu of classic options. Cocktails ~$20 apiece. Happy hour is crowded, but there are plenty of standing options around the bar itself, and additional seating options in the hallway of the hotel’s lobby. Our bar table service was quick and efficient. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Ray Hendrick: Friendly service. Great drinks. Awesome history. A perfect place for after dinner drinks during your visit to DC. Try the Mint Julep or the Bee's Knees.

Annie Wilson: Attentive service, beautiful warm atmosphere and classic drinks - a delicious experience. The mint julep is spectacular, not fussy, and the staff are cheerful, knowledgeable and enjoyable to watch keeping bar. We went here to celebrate an occasion but we also went to see the national Christmas tree - great location for this. The historical aspects of the bar make a great addition to the experience.

Sue D: Every evening I've ever spent here has been epic. This past time, we got to know half the bar (as per usual here), and there was a great jazz trio playing Christmas music in the lobby. The Willard has the prettiest Christmas decorations in town every year. If you have company coming in from out of town (any time of year), be sure to bring them here. Don't miss the room at the top of the long red staircase that tells about the history of The Willard. MLK Jr finished his "I Have a Dream" speech here.

Paul Terry Services Lawn Care & Landscaping: Christina and her staff are - in a word - AMAZING. Kind, caring and beyond gracious. Special requests are a not a problem for this crew. For the most unique and special celebration, look no further. Grateful for this staff.

Hue Tran: Went to the place for a drink and dessert. Service was horrible. I was eating on my dessert and the lady walking passed my table and just grabbed my dessert plate without saying anything, none of the " are you done with this? Or can I take this? Was happened.

Alex Holston: Fantastic. In the 1800’s Henry Clay brought the Mint Julep to Washington DC featuring it at this bar. Rich in history they still make this favorite May drink the same way. Makers Mark. Rose Simple Syrup. Muddle mint. Crushed ice. Our bar tender was fantastic. One of the best. We will return.

Patsy Agpalza: The Round Robin Bar at the Willard Hotel in D.C. is quickly becoming a favorite spot to have a drink and soak up the atmosphere. The Cedar Plank Roasted Salmon is absolutely delicious. I have ordered it twice now and have been very happy each time. The Bartender, Elias has worked there for 30 years and is absolutely phenomenal. Ask him to make you any drink and you will not be disappointed.

Matthew: A classy bar in a historic hotel only steps away from where Ulysses S Grant coined the terms lobbyists. Great bartenders who know how to serve a proper glass of whiskey.

Joey Emmitte: An amazing topshelf selection! And you can't beat the amount of history in this quaint bar.

Free State: what do users think?

Ben: Fantastic bar and even better bartenders! Great locally sourced cocktails and beers. Would highly recommend if in the Chinatown area.

Erin Partlan: Nice atmosphere. Wasn't crowded when we went. Tried two specialty cocktails and they were ok, but regular cocktails were perfect.

Cami Pease: Great craft beer selection and cocktails. The menu rotates frequently which keeps things fresh. Fun ambiance and a wonderful staff.

Austin Graff: Free State is a cocktail bar in the basement of a Chinatown building right behind the Capital One Arena. You walk down steep stairs, show the bouncer your I.D., and you're in. The space itself is pretty big for a city like Washington, D.C. There are tables and plenty of bar seating. The menu is large with wine, beer, and unique cocktails. I also appreciated they have a sour ale on tap!

Sojung Na: Nice place So great cocktail And Taxes are included in a drink Great cocktail

Noah McKee: Cozy basement bar, all local drafts and spirits made on the east coast from North Carolina and up. No name brand drinks for the most part besides a few limited staples like patron, black label, jack Daniels, etc. Friendly regulars, small but great staff, good place for happy groups. Beer list constantly changes because they try to rotate a lot of local drafts. Stop in for sure if in DC

Janessa: Private party for our staff and the ambiance was beautiful. Perfect spot to rent out. The sandwiches and potato salad was great. Lots of beverage options. 🍾🍹🍸🍷🥃

Jessica Dalzell: Tasty beverages. Trivia on Sunday was great! The bartender and trivia host were both extremely nice.

Bianca Hutton: Chill place for drinks, cool interior but the orange crushes were highly disappointing- they were watery, weak and not served with a fresh pressed orange, instead a pre-mix was used. For $10, we expected a more high quality drink.

Joy Meldshisterz: Good place for some drinking sessions with some group of friends. The place is in a basement which is nice (kind of discreet drinking style) if you want to just simply chill out and relax.

Old Ebbitt Grill: what do users think?

Natalia Mednikov: There are straightforward American-style food. This restaurant is best known for its huge old-school oyster bar—think lots of dark wood, brass fixtures, and big mirrors. That oysters was fantastic and fresh. We’ve enjoyed also cheese sampler, fried calamari and baked oysters. Everything they do is absolutely delicious. The service was very fast and friendly. We were happy to choose this great restaurant to end our busy day in Washington, D.C.

Tiberiu Hrihorciuc: Loved the experience! Tasted a dozen oysters and each one was more delicious than the other. Wine is very fairly priced. Saw it more expensive in some New York wine discount stores. The fish was such a huge portion when they split it in two plates we told them that we did not order 2 plates but to our surprise that was a full plate. If you get a chance to go to happy hours for oysters don't hesitate!
Response: Thank you, Tiberiu!

Aditya Karandikar: Had an awesome time here as a late night/ early next day stop. The food was quite nice and fairly refined, especially at such a late hour! The atmosphere was popping as well which made it more enjoyable. Service was very friendly and they had great oysters. Fresh complimentary bread never hurts either…

Sam M: This place is one of the more famous restaurants in DC. I visited this spot during brunch and it was packed. I would definitely recommend making a reservation for both weekend dinner and brunch services. I started with New England clam chowder and some salad dish. For entrees, I got eggs benedict and catfish. All the dishes I ordered were pretty good. But, I definitely enjoyed their desserts more even though I was pretty full before it. Their key lime pie and salted caramel bread pudding were both amazing! Staffs were very accommodating and attentive during the whole service. I’m planning to visit this restaurant and will get some oysters and burgers next time. I heard they are pretty good. I definitely recommend this place to celebrate any special occasions.

Suzi Figueroa: Wow, wow and wow! A friend recommended this establishment to me when I asked for dining recommendations for my upcoming DC trip. I am so glad I listened. The warm and inviting ambiance matched the service. And the food? Oh my goodness. Delicious. My SO ordered meatloaf. Who knew meatloaf could take on a such an extraordinary presentation.
Response: Suzi, Thank you for visiting Old Ebbitt Grill and leaving a great review! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience and we hope to have you back again the next time you're in town.

Mary H: What a DC institution. I've been here numerous times taking "out of town" guests but always failed to write a review... This place is busy and crowded... so make a reservation. Service is attentive and friendly. Try to get a seat in the atrium, much nicer and brighter. *turkey club-generous portions of turkey. It was good and the fries were nice and hot. *salad greens- tasty, I wanted something light. *calamari-nice and crispy. They have a good selection on their menu, we just weren't that hungry. It's kinda the place to go when you visit DC.
Response: Thank you, Mary!

Amy Workman: If you're worried that this a nice place turned tourist trap that cuts corners, worry not. We had a fantastic experience and the food was superb. Our server was in his 9th year here and I wished he could've just sat and talked with us all night. They were wonderfully accommodating and welcoming of our kids, which you definitely can't say about a lot of places. Some places know that if the kids are happy the parents are more than happy to get another round and more dishes. And then when we're sans-kids someday, we'll definitely be back to sit at one of the beautiful bars. We had the walrus raw bar which was perfect for us never having had raw oysters. They did a little of each kind they had that night and I had no idea oysters could taste so different. We had the mussels, kids mac and cheese, and sausage pasta dish. The pasta was house made and the sauce creamy and spicy. So good. After dinner we walked it off around the White House. I've spent much more at restaurants and not gotten half as much food or nearly as good as service, so even though it was our most expensive meal in DC it was also our best value. Definitely a must-go in DC.

Elaine Viegas: AMAZING! There is no other word to describe it. Since we arrived until we paid the service was perfect. I couldn’t be more happy for their food, service and kindness on my birthdays lunch. We didn’t mention that it was my birthday but they saw on my profile and as soon as I arrived they asked to confirm and no only brought my desert with a candle and a cute chocolate happy birthday place on the top. Our server was amazing, she arrived singing happy birthday, was very classy and really surprised me. Thank you for the excellence in your service. BTW the food it’s top quality, my oysters and shrimps were fresh abs really tasteful.

Jelena M: Great food, great price, great service! The waiter we had was so nice, knowledgeable, and friendly! The calamari was very good, but watch out for the spicy peppers in it . My salad was yummy! I usually never order salads, but I am glad I did as the dressing was citrusy and refreshing! They also give warm bread and butter while you wait 😍
Response: Jelena, Thank you for stopping by Old Ebbitt Grill and leaving a great review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your experience and look forward to having you back again soon!

Matthew Hanna: This was a pretty cool place to eat. It is so old but very nice inside. Lots of preserved animals I didn't expect to see like sea turtles, walrus and more. The food was great and I really liked the drinks. You can still visit and get a really good burger and fries for like $18 or you can go all out and pay $100+ for a super delicious entree. Either way the alcohol is good.

Dirty Habit: what do users think?

Olivia M. Wilson: Went to Dirty Habit for brunch and it was good! The fruit was really fresh and the potatoes were crisp. However, the service was decent and they only have bar seats available. Maybe that’s because we arrived an hour before they closed for the afternoon. Either way, the food made up for it. I would definitely like to try their dinner menu.
Response: Hi Olivia — Thank you so much for the kind words and for the feedback! We take all feedback seriously, so we’ll be sure to discuss ways to make our service more efficient. We're always trying to improve, so if there's anything else you think of, please let us know. Thanks, and we hope to welcome you back soon!

Austin Graff: Located in Penn Quarter close to the Chinatown Metro Station, Dirty Habit makes for a great date night or group dinner. It's a spacious restaurant with several beautifully-decorated dining rooms, bars and a heated outdoor patio. Here's my wife and my experience going on a February Saturday evening: 1) Food: The food menu is organized first courses, mains and sides. My wife and I love little courses so we each ordered our own French onion soup and then split the beets four ways, watermelon tartare, burrata, crudo and whipped butter potatoes. For dessert, they brought over the churros and an innovative banana split. All the food was excellent and well presented, but th watermelon tartate takes the cake. It's entirely vegan and the flavor combination is out of this world. 2) Drink: They have a full cocktails, beer and wine menu. If you don't have the wine, you can bring your own if you call ahead. (They'll charge a corkage fee.) Off the menu, they make mocktails if you tell them what flavors you like. My wife's citrus mocktail was well made. I ordered the Amazonian and it was excellent with the coconut whip. 3) Service: Our service was on point. We were seated the moment we arrived for our 8:30 p.m. reservation and our server was efficient, pleasant and knowledgeable on the menu. 4) Experience: From the service to the atmosphere to the food, it was a great dining experience. They follow all pandemic protocols. Despite being full of all kinds of people, we felt far enough away and covid-safe. 5) Parking: This can be a challenge being in downtown, but we found street parking for $3 by the Rice Bar along 9th Street NW near Pennsylvania Avenue NW.

Blvknative: Going to dirty habit for Valentines Day was top tier! The ambience was everything I was expecting! The deal as far as food and drinks were top of the line! Truly a captivating experience for my company and I.

Shannon A. McGhee: Top tier restaurant/ bar atmosphere. Food was very delicious. We had a private party in one there spaces. Food and alcohol was served. The staff were more than exceptional. Everything was jaw dropping that night. The bars was fully stocked, the outdoor seating Area was a magical scene setting the tone for the evening. I'll be back as this has become my favorite spot now. See ya soon.

Heather Walker: Amazing beautiful place, food was great. Our server unfortunately wasn't the friendliest or most attentive. Prices are pretty high for what you get. 20% Gratuity was taken out automatically.
Response: Hi Heather — Thanks for stopping by, and we appreciate the kind words! But we’re sorry to hear there were certain aspects that we didn’t deliver on. We’ve noted your comments for the next team meeting, but if there’s anything more you’d like to mention or talk to someone about, please email stephanie.carre@dirtyhabitdc.com and she’ll be happy to help!

Katlin B.: Best French onion soup I ever had! The vibe is trendy and the crowd is very eclectic. The food and drinks were amazing! Will return for soup. Thanks to the awesome host and staff! There is also a nice outdoor area as well.

Christina Hollimon: My husband took me here for their valentine's day special. It was a 4 course menu. 95$ a person and the food was subpar. I ordered filet mignon medium and it came out rare twice. We frequent placed of this caliber and don't expect to pay this amount for a under cooked steak three times, including the one they sent me home with. The soup and tuna tar tar dish were subpar as well. Honestly while I appreciate my hubby's efforts we were both disappointed with the food for the 360 dollars spent after tax and tip. The 2 stars is for the service

Aisha C: I will never spend money at this restaurant again. Absolutely ruined my NYE experience with sub par service and below average food. My group of 4 opted to do the NYE 3 course meal with a wine/cocktail pairing and it was a complete mess. Service was 1/10 as the waiter had to come back to "double check" our order minutes after writing it down. Every single order came out incorrect and we found ourselves super disappointed and unamused by the 2nd course. I had to call the manager who listened to our complaints and rewrote our order for a third time and even still the orders came out wrong!! At this point our night was ruined and already downhill but we were given purfuse apologies and a measly comp of our 2 of 4 cocktails and a water ($100 value) The bill was still around $600 including a 20% automatic gratuity forthe 4 of us and it was absolutely not worth it for the horrible service, mispaired food, incorrect drinks, and condescending waiter (who later apologized) we had to endure. Though managers really did try their best to restart our experience it was extremely disappointing for the seeming high end meal experience they advertised. Definitely not how I intended to spend my last meal of the year and definitely won't be back.

c clark: Good food, classy spot that I felt not dressed to par. I had just got in town and had on nike shorts and t shirt. But it was cool. Service was great. I'd definitely go back again
Response: Hi C Clark — Thanks so much for the kind words, and we're glad to hear you enjoyed your experience with us! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Lamina Richardson: I was a little disappointed when i visited dirty habit. It’s aesthetically pleasing but i wasn’t impressed with the food. I got the district chicken and the black rice that’s paired with it was very gritty. The dish was also paired with okra and string beans. The veggies weren’t sautéed at all and had no flavor. They literally tasted like microwaved veggies that were previously frozen. The chicken was actually good but the parings sucked so it wasn’t filling. Nice atmosphere though. Really good espresso martini! If i go again it would only be for drinks.
Response: Hi Lamina — Thank you for the kind words as well as the feedback. We hope you had a fun time overall, and we'll be taking your comments about the district chicken into our next meeting with the kitchen team. We take all feedback very seriously and we're always trying to improve, so if there's anything else you think of, please contact stephanie.carre@dirtyhabitdc.c o m and we'll be happy to continue the conversation. Thanks, and we hope to welcome you back soon!

Article One - American Grill: what do users think?

MS Tabu Winslow Morris, MBA: I attended the COE Leadership Summit and Policy Conference at the Hyatt. I commuted from Towson, Maryland to Washington, D.C. every day. I would rush in to the breakfast buffet before our sessions started. Your staff was friendly and seated me right away. Even helped me have seat close to the entrance so that I could exit quickly to get to my session after eating. Your restaurant is clean and you have a good selection of food on the menu. Thank you for the good food and friendly service.

Rafael Alencar: TERRIBLE SERVICE I was writing a bad review about the service. And I realize there are so many complains about the bad service. I wonder why they keep the staff (?) If they want names, here is one: Marino (he's the worst) Stay away from this restaurant.

Igor Ostrovsky: Breakfast buffet is excellent - lots of variety, moderate price (don't miss that $25 off $50 dining coupon they offer with hotel reservation!), comfortable location right in the main lobby of the hotel. Pre-cooked scrambled eggs/bacon are hit or miss - were great one morning, but barely warm on another. Still, there is an omelet station - get it cooked to your specs right in front of you. Coffee is consistently good. Plenty of cold cuts, pastries and fresh fruit. Haven't tried sausages or pancakes - but they looked/smelled good. Bagels, oatmeal, yogurt, cereals - all typical breakfast staples. You won't leave hungry.

William Schlimm: RUDE STAFF They can serve gold in the menu, if the employers are impolite, there's no reason to eat there ever again. Specially in a place where there's a restaurant each corner. Worker called Marino is rude and aggressive from head to toe. I understand some restaurants keeps low budget for hiring unexperienced or bad trained waiters. But this one should work no where but on his manners. Stay away from this restaurant and try the one across the street.

Chanda Rice: The service here is excellent. I had multiple servers checking on me to ensure I had everything I needed. The bread with dinner is soft, warm and delicious. The weekend all you can eat breakfast has a nice assortment of options and juices.

Abq Tours: Limited menu. Ok staff. Good drinks! Avg food. $30 out the door for chicken Caesar salad & iced tea.

Kim Nguyen: Great hotel restaurant! Usually hotel restaurants are just eh. Appreciate the interesting menu with some organic and local ingredients... and even a sustainable catch of the day dish. Enjoyed the fluffy omelet, crispy hash browns and cheese plate for room service.

casmithwv: I was out walking around the museums all day and figured I'd give my feet a rest and give the hotel bar a chance despite the bad reviews. The hotel lobby is pretty and it's a nice space. Right off the bat, something felt off because someone was coming up to the bar because her waiter didn't bother to give her any utensils and the bartender wasn't giving her the time of day. The bartender took a while to acknowledge my presence and didn't seem to speak English very well. I ordered a couple of appetizers and I didn't finish either of them. They both tasted cheap and weren't particularly interesting. I had a couple of beers as well ($8/each). I thought they might do mixed drinks better, so I ordered an old fashioned. It was okay. Not great. They charged me $19 for it though, and that's where they lost me. My total (with tip) was $83. That was not an $83 meal. If I was paying $35 for that meal in Morgantown, WV I'd have no complaints, but for $83 in DC I could've walked across the street and had a better meal.

Aaron WF: Service is friendly. The place is clean and the hamburger I has was very good.

Sam Dey: Not so great. 👎 Average hotel lounge food, OK for people 'stuck' at the hotel.

Jackie American Bistro: what do users think?

Jay patel: Ambiance: the decor and the bar and the location was amazing. It was a nationals game that day and it still wasn’t crowded. Food: we ordered a bunch of apps and sides and it worked out perfectly. The bread with the black garlic butter was a great starter . I would skip on the broccolini, the mushroom croquettes, and the burrata. Definitely recommend the double fried chicken, mash potatoes, and the fries . Did not have the opportunity to try any entrees but next time. Drinks: watermelon tequila and the old fashion were worth it for happy hour. Service: the service wasn’t that good. The waiter never came to check if we needed anything after we got our food. Had to flag him down for everything. I think he forgot about us. He wasn’t well versed in the menu either. Otherwise would give it 5 stars.

Jasmin Grammick: We celebrated a birthday at brunch and the atmosphere and service couldn’t have been better. Our server Heather was top notch and went above and beyond for us. She really made the experience that much better. I have nothing but greats things to say. Will certainly be retuning!

Ashea W.: I’m in town from Texas visiting family to bring in the New Year. I’m so glad we chose Jackie! The NYE Prix Fixe menu was absolutely amazing. More specifically, the Sweet Potato Dumplings, Duck PB & J, and Veal Katsu won me over! Our waitress, Dani, was an absolute delight. She was spot on with her recommendations and very knowledgeable about menu. I know for a fact I will be back! Pictured: Duck PB&J, Veal Katsu, Chocolate Bread pudding.

Jonathan Lutton (Jon): Jackie’s atmosphere and service were great, but the food left A LOT to be desired—especially at the price point of a $150 meal. (If the restaurant focused as much attention to their food as they do for their cocktails and expansive beer menu, our experience might have been different.) Small Plates: The chilled eggplant was without discernible flavor; grilled octopus (of which we received a measly 3 pieces) really should have been advertised as black-eyed peas with a garnish; and the pumpkin / burrata was fine albeit lacking salt. Main: The pork belly and its sauce were spot on; however, the remainder of the dish lacked cohesion. Grits would have complimented the pork, but it’s coconut flavoring was almost nonexistent (not to mention missing savor). And the chilled peppers on the side didn’t quite seem to compliment either the pork or grits.

Apollo Ryans: Food was tasty. Great vibe and atomosphere. Well lighted. The art work and decor of the establishment is just delightful. They have a DJ that mixes some good tunes on the weekends. Not too loud but just at the right volume. My only complaint, is the food is a bit over priced. That being said, still worth the visit.

R W: Beautiful location. Very nice ambience bread basket appears to come from Costco frozen food aisle along with the tots. French toast was not edible. Our waiter continuously got lost.
Response: Good afternoon RW, Thank you very much for your feedback. We certainly appreciate hearing from our guests, and always want to improve. We did pass along your notes on the food to the kitchen. We do produce our House Baked Goods daily for our two brunch services. I've also asked the chef to address the tater tots and stuffed french toast. As many restaurant are also, we have several new service staff, so we will continue to work with them to improve their ability to provide great hospitality. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Should you choose to join us again, please reach out to us through this review, so we can make sure you have a wonderful experience, and send out a few drinks and surprises on us. Again, thank you very much for the feedback and have a wonderful weekend.

Lillian: I’m not one for a bad review, but I was incredibly disappointed by the food at Jackie tonight. We ordered fours dishes and everything but the burrata inedible. The beef tartare was a grayish color and I could tell one bite in it was “off.” The fried chicken was tough, although the sauce was good. The black bread was incredible dry, like it had been sliced hours before and sat out. The service also left a lot to be desired, but they may have just been understaffed. Maybe it was an off night or we happened to order the wrong things, but I’m not apt to try it again. Restaurant felt clean at least and Dacha beer garden is still worth the visit.

Nikki D: This burger was absolutely fabulous! Juicy and made to perfection! So was the bread and local mushrooms. Fresh squeezed margherita, so scrumptious I had to have two 😅 and cool ice branding technique (I learned that's even a thing LOL). Jeffrey was a wonderful bartender and I certainly intend on visiting again!!!! Stay safe ✌🏿

Itsjustmenai Naima: Zack was our server on NYE and he was awesome. Great knowledge of the menu and great customer service. food was delicious. I will definitely be back soon,

Rebecca C: Fantastic waiter and good service. My burger was incredible and a great portion, but the charcuterie board was tiny for the price. I would recommend to friends but with the caveat that it’s pretty expensive per person. Ambiance was interesting. It was a Saturday evening and we were the only people inside. Old movies playing on two tvs near our tables, when another group came in at the very end of the evening the staff made a commotion about trying to find seating for them and they ended up squishing them right next to us even though the rest of the place was empty.

Denson Liquor Bar: what do users think?

Linda L: It definitely passes the vibe check. The decor and dark wooden accents coupled with the dim lighting and rows of glistening bottles of liquor are just 👌🏼 The foods they offer are perfect for a quick bite and a drink. No complaints about their vast drink selection, and I've only tried their grilled cheese and caviar bites which were great. It's simple but flavorful. I did see they offer a few small desserts that I can't wait to try next time.

TexCat: Wanted to stop into a bar after a night tour of DC before heading back to our Airbnb. Happened upon Denson Liquor Bar - mightily glad we did! What a great little hidden gem! Friendly, personable staff, great drinks and service. Awesome cozy ambiance. Highly recommend

Benjamin G: Was visiting DC and wanted somewhere for after dinner drinks on a Friday night. Found this place. A little hidden but worth the walk down. Cool atmosphere, nice vibe and mix of people. The bartenders were great. They both make a mean old fashioned! True mixologists.

James B: The cocktails are spot on here and reasonably priced for the area. Cool aesthetic, felt like a a hot spot bar you'd find in NYC. I didn't try and food though

Val: Unfortunately, the prices and the way everyone acts here does not match the quality of food and drinks. I'd come here for the swanky dark atmosphere, order a drink or two, then move on for food and other drinks.

Austin Shaheen: Excellent service and the place has a really cool vibe! My fiancé and I were here on a Saturday evening for her birthday and they treated us to a complimentary champagne, very nice touch. We’ll definitely be back and recommend our friends visit here

Khoi Nguyen: Great small speak easy with awesome drinks. Staff is so friendly and very talented bartenders. Place is really dark but easy to navigate around. Food wise the oysters, fries, cheese board and pretzel are a must order bar type food. Drinks everything that has whiskey order here because it's delicious

Dane Fergusson: MUST GO! Walk down the stairs to step back in time to the speakeasy era. Just the setting is worth the trip; but, the drinks are incredible. Add to this the world class bartender Dinesha. Yeah, I said it. World Class! Excellent drinks, suggestions for other drinks, great conversation, asking our preferences to tweak to our tastes, made us feel like we were her only customers... and oh yeah the place got slammed with an overflow crowd... to busy now? No way! She still had time for hugs and pictures, before we left!
Response: Thanks Dane, you rock! All the staff thought you two were great and we all love Denisha too. She's fantastic. Come back and see us soon!

Matt Noble: What a great spot this is! Very old school and dim lighting, as if you are back in time at a speak easy. Drinks were all great and so was the music. If we are ever in DC again we will be sure to come back to Denson! Highly recommend to stop in for a drink if you haven’t already!

Brendan F: There is something about walking into a below street level bar that brings a feeling of vintage nostaligia. The staff is filled with smiles, conversation and great drink ideas and the food is unique and delicious. It does get crowded but that should tell you about the quality of the place. Definitely worth a visit.
