Global Language Network: what do users think?

Hubert Pierre: The affordable language lessons offered by the GLN uplift both students and teachers while making both learning and teaching fun. Moreover, the confidence that the used approach builds in students whether to improve at work, in their relationships, or to carry out missions overseas using learned foreign language is priceless. Such a wonderful network started within the classroom with observable major impact.

Michael Katz: I heard about this organization from a friend, saw the incredible reviews, and immediately fell in love with the mission and the work of GLN. Hats off to founder Andrew Brown and the team. I reached out and Andrew was very responsive and helpful. I love the diversity at GLN too!

Mark Maier: Great place for college students to gain work experience. Kind and professional staff, great location, many valuable skills to learn, and so much more. The bonds you build here will last a long time.

Emily Koenig: I really enjoyed my Arabic class at GLN. While the course was online because of COVID, I still managed to learn a lot and keep up my arabic skills! My teacher Sinan was great! and the whole class really came together to make the experience even more enjoyable. Looking forward to taking a class in person as soon as possible!

Alliance Française: what do users think?

roberta weinman: I recently took three courses through this Alliance and finished the last one at B2.1. I have had many classes through other Alliances and was very disappointed with the quality and pace of the instruction. It seemed as though we were rushing through the book and exercises without the time to truly absorb what we were supposed to learn. We were often cut off when asking questions or making comments, so that the instructor could quickly go to the next section of the book. Learning should be enjoyable, as well as informative. This particular class was neither, especially compared with my other experiences. (Note: The Everyday French class was very good and completely different in tone and pace, with this instructor attuned to the needs of his students.) I am also appalled at the way I was treated by the administration when I made an attempt to talk about my experience with the instructor of the B-level classes. Sarah Diligenti, especially, is arrogant and dismissive and really does not want to hear about any negative experiences. The administration simply does not care. I would encourage potential students to stay away from this Alliance.

Melanie La Force: Positive: ProfessionalismThe staff are always willing to help. The teachers are awesome. I succeeded at getting my DALF C1. This was a tough exam and the prep was great.

Bonnie Beavers: Bassima was my teacher for my class (level 104.A.2), which for me was the first French classroom experience since university days 40 years ago. I enjoyed it enormously and will sign up again. We spoke French the entire time, and the materials were very helpful & well-organized. French immersion schools abroad know about Alliance and respect their teaching.

JC Kollmorgen: Membership and the cost of classes are pretty steep altogether. However, the quality of teaching is good. Much better than taking a class at USA Graduate School, for examples. Their library is also fantastic. You can borrow books, DVDs, and audio. I only wish they had more higher level class offerings at their Penn Quarter location as it would be more convenient for me.

Brittany Roth: I took the A101 course at Alliance Francaise this last October and the professor spoke in English more than half of the time and the class moved very slowly, which is all fine given we are all complete beginners. She was very nice and made sure the students were understanding all the topics. I then signed up for this A102 class and the teacher spoke nearly 100% of the time in French and moved through new material very quickly. He explained all new concepts in French and did not always make sure that what he was explaining was understood. The A101 class that I took absolutely did not prepare me for the A102 class. The professor used words and phrases that were never previously covered. Also, if you did not understand right away he would become very impatient. One time I said I did not understand something and he said scoffed and asked why? He did similar things with other students. His behavior was very upsetting and often times caused me to get frustrated and want to give up. I finished this course very unhappy. On top of my frustrations with the teacher, I never received my results for the end of the session test. This past week I moved to France and want to enroll in the Alliance Francaise program in Toulouse and having my test results would have been great in order to help place me in a course here.

Charlotte Dadzie: I think the class I took helped me improve my language skills a little, I did not like the fact that the teacher I had did not say anything when students were laughed at when they made a mistake. I mean We learn together, we shouldn’t laugh at people when they make a mistake, we should instead help them.

joseph Thompson: Wissam is a great French teacher. I took several classes with him and would highly recommend.

Berlitz Tysons Corner Language Center at Regus: what do users think?

Julie Harvey: I took private Spanish lessons to help with professional development. With my ever-changing work schedule, they were very accommodating in adjusting my schedule and even offered lessons online when I was not able to make it to the learning center. The instructors adapted the lessons to my language needs and I am now more confident in using Spanish to improve working relationships. Thank you Berlitz!

Julia Bergan: I came with zero experience and had a wonderful teacher who encouraged me and was patient and fun.The admin staff was always friendly and helpful. The center was clean and I liked the overall atmosphere. Can definitely recommend this language center!

Ridma Kamal: Awesome Work Environment, Great teachers from different parts of the world, very rich culturally enticing atmosphere. Students who study here always want to come back just to be part of this family.

mamdouh abu ghanam: The worst center ever, bad sales, no one answers, even if you go there they don’t have any information

FAHAD ALDUBAYAN: I took a course back in 2000It was a nice experience, lots of memories

Work-Life Spanish: what do users think?

Emily Rosenberg: I had no Spanish experience prior to starting starting classes and have learned so much with Work-Life Spanish. I took two classes and now am doing online tutoring because of my work schedule. The classes were well organized, supportive and fun while also maximizing learning. I am currently doing online tutoring with Leopoldo Díaz who is a wonderful instructor and tailors the sessions so I can maximize my speaking skills. I highly recommend Work-Life Spanish!

Tasha Rivera: Work-Life Spanish is amazing! My boyfriend and I began taking Private Tutoring Spanish with Tara for only a few months and went from a very beginner level to actually being able to hold a conversation with native speakers. !Ella es la mejor! One of my favorite things about Work-Life Spanish is the monthly events with students from all levels held around the DC Metro area. This gives us an opportunity to speak Spanish and listen while enjoying art, food, and drinks from Spain and South America. I HIGHLY recommend!

Jeff Porro: I took an intermediate class, "Exploring the Future," and had two one-hour individual classes. All were terrific! The instructors at Work-Life Spanish are very well organized, use creative teaching methods and both challenge and encourage you. I strongly recommend trying out a class.

Rhonda Lees: I have taken two classes so far...…….the future with Susanna and the past with Paula. They are terrific instructors....cheerful, patient, knowledgeable and explain the nuances of the different tenses well. The materials were in depth and contained grammar, exercises, videos and other ways to learn spanish. I am looking forward to my third class in a few weeks.

Kevin: I can’t be happier about the progress I have made with Work-Life Spanish. In a stress-free, fun environment, I have advanced my Spanish skills tremendously. Tara and her great team of professionals are fantastic.

Bill Schauman: Liked the new exhibit, "Waging Peace in Vietnam" about military personnel resistance to the war during the war. Building ok, enhanced by fresh-faced young people studying to be world leaders.

Robert Ulrey: View from the conference room on the top floor here is amazing. Overlooks the Washington monument, department of interior, and a bunch of other memorials. Wish I could have watched the fireworks from here.

Diego Blanco: Ranked the 8th best International Relations school in the world, most of the professors and speakers used to be ambassadors.

Emma Sutter: Awesome educational building with modern technology. The stairs are a great butt workout, too.

Quinn Peters: This university is ruled out as a possible location for my children to attend. As long as that fraud of a justice Clarence Thomas has a professorship here, I’ll never give this place a red cent and I’ll pray every day for it’s ultimate failure.

Dominick Withanachchi: Love the way its situated. If you like a university in a big city, this is one of the best.

Garth Hedley: Amazing complex, beautiful buildings and friendly atmosphere.

Steven Zimmerman: an outstanding University for our son to obtain his Masters in Public Health

Anthony Scott: While the food was descent, the service was so so. Once the cashier finally paid attention to us and we were able to order, she was very friendly. But prior to taking our order, she continued to talk to another employee and chat about non work stuff and ignore customers. The sweet potato fries and grasshopper shake were very good.

Taylor Fain: Very disappointed in their response to covid. Forcing students who have children to go back into classes of 150 people. Very irresponsible and not taking safety seriously.

Joseph Sarkissian: OUTSTANDING INSTITUTION to employ a law professor like Jonathan Turley. He reflects high credit and quality merit to this law school by exemplifying reason and logical consideration when examining our Constitutional Laws. I hope every staff member and student is proud to know that such an individual is a representation of their instution. I hope all students see his example set before them as one to emulate that when called to a higher purpose of interpreting the Constitution for a Congressional body, one must set aside all personal biases and desires or agendas to fulfill the duty set before them and interpret the facts in light of the law without prejudice. I commend this professor and this institution he represents.

Phill Anderson: Employs a professor with a poor understanding understanding of US law and the constitution.

Georgetown University: what do users think?

Da-Wang Wu: I have several talented colleagues who graduated from Georgetown University, so I always want to visit this school. The campus is very beautiful, especially with the fall foliage. It’s a nice half-day trip to visit the university, the shopping area (mainly on M Street), the canal and the waterfront park.

Danny L: Must place to visit if you are visiting DC. Lots of things to do around the university. Great place for photography and sightseeing. Plenty of Restaurants around that area. You would love it.

David Gilbank: I fulfilled a lifelong ambition when I came to Georgetown to see where The Exorcist was filmed. I particularly wanted to throw my self down the stairs that featured in the finale. Obviously that could cause terrible damage, so I through a soft toy down instead. See photos. Its a brilliant beautiful neighbourhood. Well worth a visit.

Mj Dillenburg: Great graduation ceremonies! Except for the 95 degree heat and humidity....it was beautiful.

Russ Watts: Excellent university, superb perspective on the political realm, mindful about the Jesuit values.

Enric Piferrer Torres: We stopped for a quick walk around the university buildings, and it was worth it! It reminded me of Harry Potter somehow. Beautiful main building. We parked outside for free in a 2 hour parking (no meter). The neighborhood is beautiful too

Justin Ahearn: So charming and beautiful. Feel like I’m going to get culture of Washington DC and the people that I meet are great

Howard University: what do users think?

Madame Dabo: Today I went to drop off my niece who’s continuing her second year of pre-med. the experience was amazing. I love how supportive the staff is. They have smooth transition process during moving in season. They were very well organized and had keys, moving carts, parking permits and guidance everywhere. I noticed that minorities are the majority at Howard. Diversity is embraced and everyone is welcomed and respected. I loved how they have sanitation stations everywhere fondue to Covid-19. The application process is easy and they financial aid staff is very helpful. Howard university os affordable and well known school. The dorms are spacious and private. Kitchen is well organized and the bathroom is huge. Campus was a little crowded because it was moving in day, but it was so organized that by 2pm everyone was situated and the streets were cleaned. I recommend this university.

Elizabeth Bobo: Howard University is in the process of changing, improving and increasing their level of services they offer their community. Good
