Tugooh Toys: what do users think?

Jennifer Adams: This store is truly truly wonderful. I love shopping here especially on the weekend with my two daughters. The atmosphere within store is great. There are toys for kids to play with and the selection is good. The prices can be high for some limited items, but they are usually fairly priced. Especially with toys that are hard to find at department stores and are soooo expensive on Amazon.

Pamela Davidson: Poor customer service. Bought a $35 fidget toy and as we walked off the store my child said they didn’t want it. We marched right back and asked to return it and we were refused due to Covid supply chain policy of only exchange or store credit which were not suitable option for us. No understanding and no flexibility. Love supporting little businesses and try to do as often as we can but surely never coming back right to this one.

Adriana Laticia: I just left the store.. and it seems like the ladies at the register are super nice to white customers only.. I’m latina, and the way they said, “have a great day” to every other customer after they left was nice.. but I didnt get that. I also asked for a blue gift bag and it seems like the lady wrapping my present wanted me to grab the blue gift bag myself, even though it was behind the counter..
Response: As you may know, this weekend is a market weekend in Georgetown meaning the store is exceptionally busy. Our employees try their absolute best to be courteous and friendly to everyone in the store, but you must remember, we are all human just like yourself. Someone may have forgotten to tell you “have a great day,” but that in no way means we are discriminating against you. Regarding the bag, again, we were very busy assisting all customers, including yourself, yesterday and in no way were asking you to help yourself. Ultimately, this is a black owned and very racially conscious business which takes great care in verifying our employees share our positive values. Therefore, this claim is very sad to hear. However, we would love to right this experience in any way we can so please contact the store owner at 202-714-4748, and we can hopefully resolve this.

Alice Dimton: Very cute and friendly store. Stopped by to find a present and the employee was very helpful with providing suggestions and explanations.

Lexington Pierce: This store is lovely during the holidays. The Christmas music, vast selection of toys, and location can’t be beaten. A must visit on any trip through Georgetown!

J B: If you want to pay double, literally DOUBLE the price for toys, then shop here. I bought a Monopoly Game yesterday for $34 and realized when I got home that the exact same game was $17 on Target. Same with the LOL doll - $24 at this store and $12 at Target. This is unacceptable price gouging and shady business behavior. Even if you have to pay a Georgetown rents, that shouldn’t give you the right to manipulate parents and kids to the tune of doubling prices! I usually go to Sullivan’s and went here specifically to try to support a small business, but will never go back. If you want to support local, Sullivan’s is a much better option - polite staff, better selection, and much more reasonable prices.

Catie Revi: Was excited to shop here and support a black owned business, as a black family, only to be disappointed at the extreme mark up in prices. Ended up buy a stuffed animal for 136$ for our toddler that we later found on Amazon for 20$, along with other way overpriced toys. On top of that, store was a little dusty. Won’t be shopping here again.

Ayanna Miller: Owner Grace is a crook & unethical. Don’t shop here. I use to work here when I was a college student at Howard University in 2014-2015. I was a key holder for Grace and worked so hard because I was happy to support a small and Black owned business. Tugooh toys wasn’t doing so great and instead of admitting that she couldn’t afford to pay me anymore, Grace created a whole story and accused me of stealing money from the register. I asked for countless proof of this allegation, and Grace wouldn’t give it to me. She said if she did she would report it to the police (give the police the evidence and not show me) and I wouldn’t get my last pay check until after an investigation. I told her cool, do that then. Instead, she created further lies and tried to convince me to take my last pay check and go our separate ways (I was heading home for the summer). I never got that last paycheck, she never showed any proof of me stealing (there wasn’t any) and Grace essentially stole over $600 in wages from me. Don’t shop here, she’s also very anti-Black American as she is not from here and has made countless racist remarks against the Black American community. She did the same thing to another employee (lied about catching them stealing and then fired them) instead of just admitting that her business was slow and she had to lay us off.

Child's Play Toys & Books: what do users think?

Scott Selliers: While in town for my wife’s work, my son and I have been out exploring the city. We have never been much for buying tchotchkes as souvenirs, yet few things can bring back the memories of travel like a material thing found along the way. After visiting the gift shop at the National Aquarium in Baltimore and seeing the crummy toy offerings, I told my son we’d find a real toy store - and Child’s Play Toys & Books is definitely that! We were greeted and assisted by passionate toy aficionados - professional retailers. Take your time when you visit this store - there’s a ton to see. Now my son has a quality toy that will bring back memories of our DC trip. We also had a puzzle gift wrapped for free at the counter as a gift for my father-in-law for watching our animals - this was the perfect store for us today! (You know you’re dealing with a serious store when they have an entire shelf dedicated to the best board game ever made - Catan!)
Response: You made our day! Thank you so much for visiting! We look forward to seeing you on your next trip to town.

Martin Lucero: What an awesome story, great toys and games for people of all ages. The store is far bigger than you might first realize and they are incredibly well stocked. The staff are passionate and helpful. They were able to discuss Legos in detail with my seven year old son and help me find the perfect board game based on my vague requirements. On top of all that, the prices are very reasonable.

beyondTabu: Lots of options. Shelves were sparse which is expected as it’s Christmas time. Staff were friendly and helpful. They have wrapping at the back of the store for purchases.
Response: We've been hit by the supply chain issues, too, unfortunately. Thank you for the kind words!

Christabelle Cruz: The best toy and gift store ever! I’ve come here multiple times and every time, a worker asks if they can help. I tell them the ages of the children I’m shopping for as well as the interests, and they always direct me to the perfect options and gift. They are super knowledgeable and helpful! Always a positive and happy shopping experience at Child’s Play!
Response: Yay! We're so glad you've had great experiences. We appreciate your business and your kind words!

Walt Nicholson: This is one of the best toy stores I’ve come across in years. If you have a child who needs a toy - it’s here. All ages, abilities and interests. Lots of fun educational toys as well as sheer joy. Big Lego section, model rockets and tons for little ones. The staff were super friendly and made perfect recommendations. Will definitely be back for birthday presents to come!
Response: Yay! Thanks for the kind words!

Lisa Lavelle: This is the best toy store ever! Love the helpful staff, they always have great recommendations and they are incredibly knowledgeable about the products. Wonderful selection of toys, games, and books.
Response: Thank you so much, Lisa! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Leif Engler: Amazing place to buy toys, especially legos and figurines. There is also a small book area in the back aswell. Would recommend.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave such a nice review! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Martha Coe: Best toy shop in the district. You can always find something good for a present.
Response: Thank you, Martha! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Christina Valentiner: This place is magical. I want to buy everything for my kid but I dont- they have a huge selection and the staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgable.
Response: Thank you, Christina! We appreciate you taking the time to write such a lovely review!

Kinder Haus Toys: what do users think?

beyondTabu: Great little store that has a bunch of different toys.Passed through here on a recommendation from a friend and got a couple toys as presents. They do gift wrapping too

Arn: What I love most about Kinder Haus is that there just isn’t any other toy store like it anymore. No Target or other big retailer can compete with the feel of this place. They have an expansive selection of toys and books (a lot of really good Usborne books that we haven’t found elsewhere). Our kids also love going there to play with the train set and the little store. Before the pandemic they ran a lot of great events too and the staff is really friendly!

Ali Bennett: I had a great experience shopping at Kinder Haus Toys for the first time last week! They have a large selection of toys, well organized throughout the store and even offer complimentary gift wrapping. I will definitely be returning!

Kerry Carlson: Such a cute space! They have so many great toys, books, puzzles, and apparel for kids.

Siddharth Gore: Awesome toy store! Brings out the inner-kid :) Customer services was amazing too - they wrap gifts if you buy something there.

Fair Day's Play: what do users think?

Beast_A_Tron: The store feels like home and treats you well. The owner down to the employees are very nice and will help when needed. Would recommend, hoping for the day to buy from them online.

Sanford Anopolsky: I had the most amazing experience with fair days play. My wife and I were looking for a hard to find game that we learned is no longer in print. I called the store and they immediately knew about it. For perspective, I had called six other toy stores in the Washington DC area and only one other had heard of it. The owner of fair days play offered to look in her storage shed to see if she could find one for me.She said it might take a while and she would call me back, which she did the very next day. Believe it or not she had one and found it! I was so excited but our plans were to leave town and I wasn’t able to get it from her store when she opened. That’s when the most extraordinary thing occurred. She offered to meet me at a highway exit near her store and sell me the game in a parking lot. I was pleasantly surprised that she offered to do this and no this could never happen and the other kind of store, other than a sole proprietor ship with an owner that cares. This is the kind of service and interest you only get from someone who loves what they do. It’s sort of reminds me of what you might see on a TV commercial but we all cynically dismiss it as father. But this store totally helped me. I will always go to the store first for my game needs and recommend that if you have something hard to find or just main stream, this owner cares about games and her customers and it’s worth going to. We need more stores like this

Darla Benton: Great toys. Wonderful staff!I would recommend it to any that was looking for the perfect gift!

Linda Kolko: Wonderful selection of toys for all ages. You can set up appointments or come by and she will meet you outside to look at toys. Just let her know what you want. All fair trade or union made. No discounted junk.

Felton Woodson-Armstrong III: Very intimate environment with a lot of cool toys, board games, and books you won’t be able to find at big name stores. The owner is a very nice lady and is very knowledgeable about every product in her store. 11/10 would recommend!
Response: Thank you for your kind review. We take great care and time to build this store for the community. And, it matters that we reach people through our games and toys and smiles in a meaningful way!

Laura Miller Craig: Great, quirky, independent toy and game store. They have the beautiful, high-end board games like Catan, ticket to ride, and tokaido. Made-in-America dress up clothes worthy of handing down. Wooden baby toys, science kits, puzzles, Arts n crafts, puppets and stuffed animals. Magic cards, Pokémon, dice, you name it! Its kind of amazing how much is under one small roof! The owner is super knowledgeable about age appropriate toys and what’s the latest craze, which is great for selecting birthday presents. Highly recommend- hope this is one place that can survive the big-box store competition.

Betty Thompson: This small shop is crammed with wonderful toys and books, and the owner is a superb guide who knows her inventory extremely well and gives great advice about current favorites, tried-and-true, and best matches for your favorite kids’ ages and interests. It’s like an overflowing treasure chest of toys, games, and books, at all price points – the special strategy games that my older grandkids have heard of, the simple toys that fit my two-year-old grandchild, cuddly creatures for new babies, hula hoops and jump ropes and so many classic toys, the surprise small new things (LED party balloons? Yup, and I bought them as stocking-stuffers!) -- really everything I’ve ever wanted is in there, and there is no more patient guide than the owner. She is also a wonderful collaborator when I come in with a child; if a child clearly wants something and I whisper a request, the owner will whisk it behind the counter and help me pay and smuggle it out without the child knowing – which isn’t really hard because children always find something fun here to distract their attention. I also love knowing I can trust these playthings. Today I bought some well-made plastic farm animals (plus more exotic ones I couldn’t resist) and I am very grateful that I don’t need to wonder if they were made with toxic paints; the owner wouldn’t stock them in that case. Because of the personal attention, this isn’t a store for rushing: instead, it’s a store to love year after year after year. I always smile going in, and smile even more going out with special gifts.

Josh Massey: Friendly and patient staff. The owner knows all of the games and toys really well. She provided me with a great recommendation for a birthday party and even sold me on a game that we play often and love. There is something here for everyone - bring out your inner child and go visit.

Elizabeth Rosenberg: Always my favorite place to go for toys! They have educational games, toys, and books as well as puzzles! The staff is always very welcoming and helpful. I love shopping here!

Barstons Child's Play: what do users think?

Sebastian Olmsted: While gift shopping for toys this Christmas, Child’s Play was a nearby convenient store with a good variety of toys and books for kids. It was obviously busy around the holidays and things were fairly disorganized. The workers I encountered were trying their hardest and were very helpful and kind, but I couldn’t help but feel that the management was completely off. Service was pretty bad simply because it seemed that workers had far too much on their hands, all the while their manager or boss was absolutely nowhere to be found. I had talked to one of the workers as well, who told me that they were completely overwhelmed. As someone who works for a small business, this management is terrible and the work environment for these employees seems unsupportive and generally chaotic.

Lil Waffle: I liked it a lot, however, workers were scattered across the store. It would be a lot easier if they just stayed put at the register.

Auggie Flentje: the staff here can help you find most any gift for any child. great selection of games and they seem to always have the hot items in stock. a great local toy store and broad selection of books. they wrap for you!

R: Nice toy store. The staff is friendly and help and the ship offers a wide selection of toys, books, stuffed animals, etc.

David Feuer: The book selection is excellent. The toy selection is a bit more hit-or-miss. Some popular categories (like Lego) have good selections. Activity kits seemed fairly blah.

Ronald Huskey: Very knowledgable staff for kids toys and games. They will even wrap your gift for you at the store free of charge. We love going to this store for birthday gifts and Christmas gifts.

One Two Kangaroo Toys: what do users think?

Daniel Stuart Holmes: They have great toys that my kids love. A lot of the toys here are ones that are not sold in the larger “big box” retailers. Charlie (the owner) is a fantastic person and is always incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.

alex stevens: The store is small and does not stand out among the numerous restaurants and shops of Shirlington and it only has a few rooms but it is literally packed floor to ceiling with toys for all ages. The shop clerk was passionate and happy to go thru the stores wares to help me find the right toy for my nephews fist birthday. The selection is excellent with a wide variety of toys that range from the toy sets and vehicles to puzzles that start from a few months thru toddlers and older. The store offers gift wrapping as a service and it is wonderful to walk out with a toy freshly wrapped after browsing thru their selection. I have made it a point to tell my family about this store and i will happily make this my first choice to shop at in the future.

Lindsey: I visit this toy shop about 10x a year. When you walk in, it’s like you’ve entered a place of pure joy——like when the Beast shows Belle the library. That kind of joy. They have something for kids of all ages starting at newborn (I like the 1,000 piece puzzles and board games). The owners are great at providing suggestions based on a child’s age and even personality. On more than one occasion I needed to stick to a budget, so the owner helped me find the perfect gifts and stay within that budget. These are not gifts you can find in your local retail store. They are quality gifts, and because of that + small business, they can be pricey, so keep that in mind as you explore the shop. A must visit when in Shirlington.

Rachel Sloan: Wonderful little store, found everything I needed for my friends’ new babies! The lady who helped me made some good recommendations and was very helpful.

Frances Ding: This place is amazing! It is a small store but there is an incredible selection since they restock daily. The owner is very knowledgeable about all his products - and children and their development. He told us his philosophy is to stock toys that all have some educational or developmental component. I really appreciate his curated selection, especially since it is overwhelming to pick good quality toys now. Overall, will definitely be coming back, and feel lucky to have stumbled across this gem of a store!

Nathan W: Great store, fantastic selection of high quality toys. I bought a gift for a friend’s child, and the owner even wrapped it for me. With stores reopening now to a slightly different world, now is your chance to support and preserve small businesses - and to say no to Amazon and big box stores!

Lisa Delmonico: This toy store is a gem. It is tiny and filled floor to ceiling with nothing but fabulous high quality toys and games. We have shopped there for years. The owner is a kindly man who knows his toys and games as well as children and parents. Our kids are older now but he still has great games and puzzles for them and us. You receive very personalized attention here from someone who knows. Although I love amazon as much as the next person, shopping here is a wonderful experience and worth the trip!

Hyunghee Chun: I really admire this shop and enjoy shopping here. I had the opportunity to meet Francesca and she was nothing but kind. I can tell she sincerely cares about the customers and children. I have also ordered from their online website before and the transactions are always smooth. They really go the extra mile for their customers and it is greatly appreciated.

Melissa Lopez: Absolutely love them!! I ordered a mystery box on the website, all the way from California! My squish were well packaged and arrived safely. I will definitely be buying again from them!

Harold Vander Molen: Very nice store. Was impressed with the unusually wide variety of toys, especially those with an educational aspect. Will definitely shop there again.

Callan G: I ordered the 8" mystery box and they shipped it across the country for me!! I love the squishmallows I got in the mystery box and they were wrapped very nicely in tissue paper. I highly recommend buying squishmallows from Anglo dutch!! <3

Jennifer Lawley: This store is AMAZINGG! Best customer service I’ve probably ever received! Francesca always helps me when it comes to SQUISHMALLOWS! My kids love them and this was one of the first stores I found that would ship them and not only that, they were beyond kind and helpful with any and all questions I had! So nice to know there’s still some good & helpful people out there! We are repeat customers and will continue to be!!

Sadie Jordan: AMAZING SQUISH DROP! Handed out tickets to hold your place in line, what a great idea! I was able to get one of each axolotl and it was definitely worth the drive. Family ran and they are all sweet and very helpful! Well priced squishmallows.

Response: Thanks. We are so happy that parties are back!

Danira Ortiz: Friendly staff. The store is very organized. They have a ton of stuff yet it doesn’t feel crowded. They do have signs but they are small and blend in. I wish they were more visible.
Response: Thanks. We are currently contemplating new signage so your feedback is appreciated. :)

Elizabeth Tate: The Thursday night board game nights are a ton of fun, and this board game shop has some seriously helpful staff. Don’t know how to play a game or you need a specific game? These people will show you the ropes! Awesome shop, now making it part of my weekly routine to come and hang out 💯
Response: Thanks so much for the review. We love everyone who plays games with us. :)

Nicole Woodworth: Absolutely amazing game store! The best one in DC!!! Everything is organized and easy to find, very reasonable prices, wide variety of board games, tabletop role playing games, Magic cards, Pokémon Cards, and more!!! The whole staff was extremely friendly despite being busy and took time to answer any questions we had. 10/10 highly recommend!!!

Daniel Hudson: Incredibly helpful staff, great selection, and competitive prices. They give a ton back to the community and run events for local youth. Best game store in the area. Check it out on Thursday nights for game night. Learn a new game and make a nee friend. Well worth the trip!
Response: Thanks so much for the kind words. We always try to give back. It's very important to us.

Declan Glueck: This was an awesome stop! Great selection of games, knowledgeable staff, and really cute space overall. I left with a new board game, and look forward to trying out their board game night next Thursday.
Response: Aw, thanks so much. We hope you were able to make it to board game night. Please visit again soon.

Edward Habib: Labyrinth is one of my favorite local businesses. They have a great selection, very friendly and well-informed staff, and the prices are generally on par with those on Amazon. Labyrinth also hosts great used game sales, giveaways, and community events. Every visit to Labyrinth is wonderful.
Response: Thanks so much for the kind words. We really appreciate you.

Brandy Clements: The BEST store for puzzles, games, etc!!! Seriously me and my husband went shopping for ourselves, our 2 year old, and 6 year old and we ended up spending an hour just looking around (we bought way too much stuff too lol) the staff was SO sweet and knowledgeable. I overheard many conversations with other customers "I have an 11 year old girl who likes X, Y and Z what would you recommend?" And they knew exactly what to do and say. Well def be back as soon as we come back to DC!!
Response: Thanks so much. We hope to see you again soon. Recommendations are our staff's favorite game. :)

Trinity S.: Not many stores like this left! Yes, I am an adult.. and I shop here... For myself. Absolutely no shame! Very friendly staff and something new and different no matter what direction you turn. This store is PACKED with awesome toys. From squishmallows to Lego.
Response: Thank you!

Azaline Adkison: Genuinely love this store so much and am so happy that it is a part of our community! They have so many unique items and are constantly rotating stock. I first ran into them when looking for a gift for my 11-year-old nephew, who is virtually impossible to shop for. I managed to find a Rubiks cube he had never even heard of before, as well as a lot of really special small items for him and his siblings. It is now my regular place for kids gifts, puzzles, family-friendly board games, and especially Squishmallows! The employees here have so much patience and are so enthusiastic about this shop and the folks that come through.
Response: We love being a neighborhood toy store and serving the community. We actually do love what we do! Thanks for your kind words.

Bryar Welton: A large selection! There are many treasures in here. The prices are reasonable and selection is pretty vast. There are items in their supply that are often difficult to find at other stores. A good choicefor quality options. The store arrangement makes sense. Parking available behind the store. I will return to it to purchase morefor my niece
Response: Thank you for dropping by and taking your time to post your kind comments! Hope to see you soon.

M K: Amazing selection for every age, and the sales associates were EXTREMELY helpful!!! Could not recommend enough, I wish I was buying toys more often.

Felicia Adkins: What a great small business! Love this toy store. We used to shop at the one in Springfield before they closed. Drove over here to falls church to get some Christmas toys for my grandson. What a great selection of quality toys for small people! Very friendly and helpful staff as well. There is something new everywhere you look! Look up on the top shelves surrounding the store too! They pack a lot of great things in a small space!
Response: Thank you for your kind words and loyalty. We truly appreciate your business.

Luke Hendrixson: My wife and son have visited this store several times. There are always several toys pulled off the shelf my by son which makes only buying one a challenge. Prices are higher than online stores but well worth it to see how happy my kid I walking out of the store with his new toy. We recommend this retailer for anyone that wants to see the joy of a kid in a toy store.
Response: Thank you for your kind comments. It's a pleasure serving you and your family. Hope to see you soon.

Took me several minutes to figure out where body wash was. Haircare, travel, makeup is all grouped together in the front/middle-like typical but body wash/deodorant was clear on the end of the store. Terrible flow. All that looking and they had very limited washes! Men’s selection had more to choose from. Went in there with a very basic list and got one thing on it… my nearest Walgreens was more helpful…disappointing since I love me a Target trip. I won’t be back to this one.

Adah Deveaux: This review is for the starbucks within target. My drinks were great but a little of a wait. The actual target was customary.

Thomas Nali: NO PARKING VALIDATION Poor inventory. This is on a regular old Monday. I asked for the product I was looking for, they checked in the back, and said it was too hard to get to and another employee would work on it, but they don’t know how long it will be. This was at almost noon. Look at how few dairy products are on the shelf. Staff continued to prove unhelpful. I asked four different employees where a type of product was and they each told me to find someone who worked in that dept. OR they just told me they “probably don’t have it” WITHOUT even looking or bothering to find where it should be!! They tried to walk off but I said I am not satisfied until we find the shelf where it should be, and I’ve been looking for fifteen minutes. Took all of that to get some help finding one little thing.

Sade Wilson: I was shopping today at the Washington D.C target store and was purchasing gift for my family I found some nice things and for a really good price. I went to check out and the items were ringing up different from what the price was upstairs I explained to the cashier he called for a manager. The manager name tiffany came and refuse to change the price the for two of the items but change it for the other too items. I continue checking out because I didn’t want to wait to long after I was done checking out I went upstairs to take pictures to show the manger she still refuse and walk away.

Donna Walker: Buyers we aware the prices in Target are going up every week and its terrible and make sure you know the prices of your items because the shelf price and the register price can be different at times. Security was following me for no reason so I had t let him know you are following the wrong person. I catch more people stealing at Target and I do not work there. Also, some of the employees are so rude. I will be recording my conversations with the employees when I need to ask for help as proof of how rude some of them can be.

Target: what do users think?

Oliver Anderson: Best target in the DC area. This location boasts metro accessibility and excellent customer service! One employee named Maximo was a great help for me finding aquaphor ointment in a hurry.

Philip Lu: Great place to shop. One of the employees, Kecia, is so helpful and deserves a raise!

Miguel Adamson: Generally clean and is stocked with essentials. Poor management from team leads. Unless you absolutely need something, save yourself the time and visit a different local Target at Cleveland Park or Bethesda.

peter wrede: Avoid this place! I bought a Logitech keyboard on Aug. 15, 2021. It stopped working on Sept. 24. I went to customer service / returns on Sept. 26, only to be informed that there is a "hard return" date of Sept. 14 on the receipt. I should have brought it back by then. Never mind it broke down after barely one month of moderate use.

Rachel L: Ran into this target to pick a few things up quickly. Was slightly confused on where to enter as there were side doors but the store was organized and clean. Self checkout was absolutely packed and there weren’t many lines guiding folks where to stand but it went quick. The items I was looking for showed as in stock in the store which was nice because I found exactly what I needed.

C. M.: Great store and close to metro exit. Not super large.

Target: what do users think?

Sassy Sauce: This store opened a couple years ago and it’s always nice and clean. The day I went after work the store must have just received a truck because there were boxes of product on most of the aisles. But this store is generally very clean and organized. This isn’t a normal sized target though, it’s definitely smaller and has more of a convenient store type feel. But all of the normal Target staples are still there. There is parking under the store and it’s accessible using the escalators or elevator. There is a Starbucks as well. It’s a great store to visit!

Amreen Shafiuddin: poorly managed target.. no one knew answers for anything. customer service was poor. stocking issues in all the aisles. boxes everywhere.. the food items especially bread section don’t have best before stickers on them. when questioned, they just saw each other faces. poorly managed.

Mysiki X Valentine: Whoa! Let me begin on a positive. There is a cashier (older Black woman) Joan, who is the most pleasant staff worker. However, the younger staff can often be found tucked away on phones, having side conversation and etc..so finding help is always difficult. In addition, the customer service could never be described as friendly. But it does not end there, this is one of the worst Target’s I’ve ever went shopping. The store shelves stay empty. I recently order Beats headphones online for pick-up, I was emailed saying my order was ready—but when I got to the store the manager cancelled my order, stating the item was not in the store. Long behold, I walked to the back and there sat 3) pairs of the same item I came to pick-up. Her attitude was out of this world, I couldn’t believe she worked in customer service. No matter what time of the day, the aisles have carts full of products yet to be put away. Makes the store seem chaotic and disorganized. If it’s a quick stop, I’d advise going elsewhere. Looking to do serious shopping, never stop here. To end on a positive the food section is normally well stocked and presented nicely.

Kareem Carter: Lets start by saying I am appreciative of having a Target in this area of DC. The parking facility is safe and well lit, the store was reasonably stocked and clean. My gripe is with the professionalism of the management and the completely ineffective way they run the checkout line. they funneled everyone through one line and when several customers skipped the single line and went straight to the register, they were allowed to do so.....causing frustration to the other customers in the line. This was brought to the lead employees attention and she sarcastically dismissed my frustration. They should really signage up on how the checkout line works!

Erin Truax: I have been to this Target a few times because it is the most convenient for me (and parking is easy) but I always leave feeling very frustrated. There are constantly boxes of inventory waiting to be unpacked that are blocking the aisles and many shelves are often missing product. I have shopped at different times and on different days, but this seems to be on ongoing issue for this location. If you’re able, I recommend a different location.

J Por: Went in for some quick toys for my nieces and nephew. Turned in to their Loss Prevention racially profiling my partner, and followed us around the store the entire time for 60 dollars worth of merchandise, part of which, we had to find an employee to get. We initially went in to make a return, and unfortunately had the idea to shop the last bit of our list. Workers letting people (guy in a blue hoodie was wearing a red shirt so possible employee?) walk around without a mask even though DC has a mandate, and the stores inventory is always in the way. Should have been more concerned following him to give him a mask instead of two people who were in your store less than 25 minutes. Overheard an employee talking about managers asking the team to get tested because of a potential positive employee. Overall, the worst experience I’ve had by far. I’ve been a consistent customer for three years, but no more. This location is best avoided. Trust me.

livingmytruth 2: Joan has the best customer service ever. I came in this location with my 98 year old grandma and she made my grandma feel sooo good and proud and she really has a positive attitude. Thank you for making my grandmother’s shopping experience so pleasant . I will actually make this my home store now because of her pleasant demeanor

Aaron Blackmon: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go to a Walmart that is all red and has Target signs? Well wait no longer! This will fit the bill. The validated parking is a mess. The store is never stocked but simultaneously stocking everything at once and the lines are NEVER open. I only went there after learning my initial lesson months ago because it’s so close and I wanted to get a few things but even still it wasn’t worth it.

Target: what do users think?

Portia Massado: I was a former employee there and the reason why I left was for a career choice and also because of the GM Jemima Canage. Jemima Canage is THE WORST GM to work for the company. Target is her LIFE and if your in school or have a second job PLEASE DO NOT APPLY. Control freak YES she is. Jemima will over work you and will not give gradititude in return unless your a male that work in her store. She talks very mean and nasty to associates like they are nothing to her. I even had an incident where she yelled and charged herself at me like I was a child. It made me very very upset and if another manager wasn’t present I would of lost my job for walking out due to Jemima poor management skills. I even had customers come in and complain about how rude and mean she is. She also like to try to undermind people like they lack common sense. She recently fired someone for no apparent reason at all. She forced that man to come to work sick after expressing that he wasn’t feeling well. And he called the ambulance for himself just to prove to Jemima that he was sick. And in the process of her firing one person she lost 8people from that store. Even her ASM left because of her, 3LPs, and 4 associates. And right before I started 6months ago the original associates that were there had already gave the new people the rundown of Jemima Canage and how much they hated her and how she acts towards her employees. She doesn’t onow how to humble herself or treat people with REPSECT. She demands it then earning it or giving it back in return. And the nexr person she raises her voice at WILL NOT be as nice cause trust me I was VERY VERY ANGRY about it. Please get rid of that bad engery in that store. I feel sorry for all the people that are still there.

Kerry Delf: Small but fairly well provisioned food section, with both snack foods and some home groceries, heavy on the convenience foods. Prices are high but better than other stores in the area. Conveniently open until 11 p.m. on Saturdays, in an area where other stores close at 9 or 10, but it closes earlier on other days of the week. Free parking with store validation. Downside: Service was sparse and heavily dependent on self-service—there were no employees on the floor helping customers, and of three employees around the checkout counter, only one was operating a register, quite lackadaisically.

Peyton Doyle: Great small format Target in a really accessible part of Cleveland Park (and just steps from the Metro stop). Impressed with their selection of fresh foods. Nice home goods section too. Unique underground store. Really friendly employees! I will certainly be back.

Larry Gamble: I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the surroundings is a very beautiful place with a lot of awesome deals! it was a very nice experience for people are just super awesome everybody was all friendly and lot of excitement going on just keep it in the parking lot list fire I loved it

M P: Free parking but you MUST get your ticket validated in store. Great for quick Target run. You can always find helpful employees and if you don’t see what you are looking for ask and they’ll get it in stock. Great manager. Super clean store. Perfect location.

Sassi Whayz: Clean store, I love the floor separate.. x feels like a department store. Found a new favorite lady part cleaner

Five Below: what do users think?

Sassy Sauce: This store is very clean and organized. The staff greeted us as we walked in. They were very responsive to our questions and showed us where the product was located that we needed. They have a lot of toys and outdoor supplies for summer. The books selection is good especially if you have a teenager or someone who enjoys cooking. There are several cookbooks as well. A very enjoyable experience

SARO in D.C: If you’re into receiving great customer service, shop here! From the moment you walk into the store someone greats you, someone checks on you while you’re shopping to make sure you’re finding what you need, she even helped me with locating the items that I was having a hard time finding, they were attentive and even Closed service with granting me a wonderful day and asking me to come back to shop with them. If only all stores were modeled after their level of customer service of this location, great job!!!

Kenzi LA Toy: Quiet and cozy. This is definitely ah place to take the little ones for a day of spending. It is so easy to lose yourself in this store, while working to dream about ah better future! . As you can tell I adore 5 Below! My daughters and I always feel like we invested in something leaving this place. 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 (with exception of stocking materials in the way. Made it hard to reach certain items), 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘆/𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱!

Kavina Greene: I visited this Five Below on Thursday January 20th around 6:15pm-6:30pm. There was a young lady who was working her shift around this time, not sure of her name but she was horrible. I didn’t appreciate her following my mother, kids, and myself around the store. By the time we had got to the check-out line she was very quick to ask “how are you paying in a concerning way”, not friendly or offering helpful customer service. I was very offended the entire time being as though I was profiled during my visit. For someone like myself who works in the legal field I take matters like this very serious. I believe in friendly customer service and she did not provide this at all. I will never again visit this Five Below. She had greeeted everyone else who walked in the door except us. I believe in first impressions. Not good for the Five Below company. I wish I can report her to corporate.

bFly Young: Quick fast action with thr self checking out registers

Kelli Young: The electronic section is always picked over here smh. The rest of the store is okay

Sara Baum: At self checkout Clarence was very patient with me and my daughter and checked us out and also left his spot to go get another item for me. He do more than what he is suppose to and hope to see him there again!.

Lovable Sin: I love how neat & clean the store was and the employees were really nice. The store has a great selection of items and that is really good! I will most definitely return and brag how nice my local 5 below is!!

Angela Bowen: They are a great place to get helpful items reasonably priced! I lost my receipt and had to return an item and they gladly allowed the return and had great customer service about it!
