Tugooh Toys: what do users think?

Jennifer Adams: This store is truly truly wonderful. I love shopping here especially on the weekend with my two daughters. The atmosphere within store is great. There are toys for kids to play with and the selection is good. The prices can be high for some limited items, but they are usually fairly priced. Especially with toys that are hard to find at department stores and are soooo expensive on Amazon.

Pamela Davidson: Poor customer service. Bought a $35 fidget toy and as we walked off the store my child said they didn’t want it. We marched right back and asked to return it and we were refused due to Covid supply chain policy of only exchange or store credit which were not suitable option for us. No understanding and no flexibility. Love supporting little businesses and try to do as often as we can but surely never coming back right to this one.

James Bernard: Crooks. Toys were $37.17 and they charged the card for $377.17 instead. Good thing we caught it. We thought it was a mistake until we looked at the reviews about the owner ripping off customers and employees. Unfortunately we had a similar experience. I don't like leaving bad reviews but people should be warned of crooked practices.
Response: Hi James, this was an honest mistake. It was simply an error in the credit card machine input as I’m sure you can tell. We’ve been in business for 14 years and rarely ever make mistakes and we immediately corrected the issue in store. Therefore, your attempted defamation of our business online is quite deplorable. I can’t imagine how you would feel if your reputation was falsely compromised.

Adriana Laticia: I just left the store.. and it seems like the ladies at the register are super nice to white customers only.. I’m latina, and the way they said, “have a great day” to every other customer after they left was nice.. but I didnt get that. I also asked for a blue gift bag and it seems like the lady wrapping my present wanted me to grab the blue gift bag myself, even though it was behind the counter..
Response: As you may know, this weekend is a market weekend in Georgetown meaning the store is exceptionally busy. Our employees try their absolute best to be courteous and friendly to everyone in the store, but you must remember, we are all human just like yourself. Someone may have forgotten to tell you “have a great day,” but that in no way means we are discriminating against you. Regarding the bag, again, we were very busy assisting all customers, including yourself, yesterday and in no way were asking you to help yourself. Ultimately, this is a black owned and very racially conscious business which takes great care in verifying our employees share our positive values. Therefore, this claim is very sad to hear. However, we would love to right this experience in any way we can so please contact the store owner at 202-714-4748, and we can hopefully resolve this.

Alice Dimton: Very cute and friendly store. Stopped by to find a present and the employee was very helpful with providing suggestions and explanations.

Lexington Pierce: This store is lovely during the holidays. The Christmas music, vast selection of toys, and location can’t be beaten. A must visit on any trip through Georgetown!

Nesa Amarlooi: It's really a shame that I have to leave this review because I'd much rather support a small, local business, especially if it is black-owned. But to be honest I can't see myself returning to this store again. The person working when I went in with my two kids wasn't the friendliest but what really annoyed me is the insane markup. I get that as a small business, you have to do this to an extent in order to maintain your physical presence, but to charge more than double for something is manipulative to both kids and parents. Sadly I won't be returning to this seemingly charming little store.

J B: If you want to pay double, literally DOUBLE the price for toys, then shop here. I bought a Monopoly Game yesterday for $34 and realized when I got home that the exact same game was $17 on Target. Same with the LOL doll - $24 at this store and $12 at Target. This is unacceptable price gouging and shady business behavior. Even if you have to pay a Georgetown rents, that shouldn’t give you the right to manipulate parents and kids to the tune of doubling prices! I usually go to Sullivan’s and went here specifically to try to support a small business, but will never go back. If you want to support local, Sullivan’s is a much better option - polite staff, better selection, and much more reasonable prices.

Catie Revi: Was excited to shop here and support a black owned business, as a black family, only to be disappointed at the extreme mark up in prices. Ended up buy a stuffed animal for 136$ for our toddler that we later found on Amazon for 20$, along with other way overpriced toys. On top of that, store was a little dusty. Won’t be shopping here again.

Ayanna Miller: Owner Grace is a crook & unethical. Don’t shop here. I use to work here when I was a college student at Howard University in 2014-2015. I was a key holder for Grace and worked so hard because I was happy to support a small and Black owned business. Tugooh toys wasn’t doing so great and instead of admitting that she couldn’t afford to pay me anymore, Grace created a whole story and accused me of stealing money from the register. I asked for countless proof of this allegation, and Grace wouldn’t give it to me. She said if she did she would report it to the police (give the police the evidence and not show me) and I wouldn’t get my last pay check until after an investigation. I told her cool, do that then. Instead, she created further lies and tried to convince me to take my last pay check and go our separate ways (I was heading home for the summer). I never got that last paycheck, she never showed any proof of me stealing (there wasn’t any) and Grace essentially stole over $600 in wages from me. Don’t shop here, she’s also very anti-Black American as she is not from here and has made countless racist remarks against the Black American community. She did the same thing to another employee (lied about catching them stealing and then fired them) instead of just admitting that her business was slow and she had to lay us off.

Child's Play Toys & Books: what do users think?

Scott Selliers: While in town for my wife’s work, my son and I have been out exploring the city. We have never been much for buying tchotchkes as souvenirs, yet few things can bring back the memories of travel like a material thing found along the way. After visiting the gift shop at the National Aquarium in Baltimore and seeing the crummy toy offerings, I told my son we’d find a real toy store - and Child’s Play Toys & Books is definitely that! We were greeted and assisted by passionate toy aficionados - professional retailers. Take your time when you visit this store - there’s a ton to see. Now my son has a quality toy that will bring back memories of our DC trip. We also had a puzzle gift wrapped for free at the counter as a gift for my father-in-law for watching our animals - this was the perfect store for us today! (You know you’re dealing with a serious store when they have an entire shelf dedicated to the best board game ever made - Catan!)
Response: You made our day! Thank you so much for visiting! We look forward to seeing you on your next trip to town.

Martin Lucero: What an awesome story, great toys and games for people of all ages. The store is far bigger than you might first realize and they are incredibly well stocked. The staff are passionate and helpful. They were able to discuss Legos in detail with my seven year old son and help me find the perfect board game based on my vague requirements. On top of all that, the prices are very reasonable.

beyondTabu: Lots of options. Shelves were sparse which is expected as it’s Christmas time. Staff were friendly and helpful. They have wrapping at the back of the store for purchases.
Response: We've been hit by the supply chain issues, too, unfortunately. Thank you for the kind words!

Christabelle Cruz: The best toy and gift store ever! I’ve come here multiple times and every time, a worker asks if they can help. I tell them the ages of the children I’m shopping for as well as the interests, and they always direct me to the perfect options and gift. They are super knowledgeable and helpful! Always a positive and happy shopping experience at Child’s Play!
Response: Yay! We're so glad you've had great experiences. We appreciate your business and your kind words!

Walt Nicholson: This is one of the best toy stores I’ve come across in years. If you have a child who needs a toy - it’s here. All ages, abilities and interests. Lots of fun educational toys as well as sheer joy. Big Lego section, model rockets and tons for little ones. The staff were super friendly and made perfect recommendations. Will definitely be back for birthday presents to come!
Response: Yay! Thanks for the kind words!

Lisa Lavelle: This is the best toy store ever! Love the helpful staff, they always have great recommendations and they are incredibly knowledgeable about the products. Wonderful selection of toys, games, and books.
Response: Thank you so much, Lisa! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Leif Engler: Amazing place to buy toys, especially legos and figurines. There is also a small book area in the back aswell. Would recommend.
Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave such a nice review! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

PauloMichelle Dorsey: This place is amazing, my son has been busy in an adventure of a lifetime. You may not have Toys R Us, (RIP) but you can bet the adventure awaits you here. The pictures is just a point of the mass of toys. There's parking in the back and the front. Food and Starbucks next door. The employees are Soo helpful with joy.
Response: Thanks for stopping in & for your kind words. You made our day!

Martha Coe: Best toy shop in the district. You can always find something good for a present.
Response: Thank you, Martha! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Christina Valentiner: This place is magical. I want to buy everything for my kid but I dont- they have a huge selection and the staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgable.
Response: Thank you, Christina! We appreciate you taking the time to write such a lovely review!

Fairy Godmother-Childrens Books & Toys: what do users think?

Clement: Very nice store. We found some cute gifts for a baby shower. The lady was super nice to wait for us before they closed.

Kumari Robinson: Great selection of toys and books for a wide age range of kids. Super cute store.

Pete Price: Really enjoyed the small, but curated selection of toys/activities/books ranging in all ages. Found the owner very helpful on picking out obscure games, but happily purchased because of their long standing popularity! Wonderful place to go.

Bette Maun: They have been at Eastern Market for a long time. A little expensive but worth the money. Most toys are handmade or come from Switzerland. Great puzzles to figure out. Lots of cute little book's and toys. It should be called the ( SHOP FOR CHILD WHO HAS EVERYTHING OR STORE FOR CHILDREN WHO HAVE HIGH IQ'S.

Nessa Clarke: She loves collectible little Japanese charm toy keychains. She loves the quirky. The obscure. The modern. She would go crazy in this store - admiring all of the items - which so genius-ly fuse art, humor and play together.

JH Monsen: The proprietor is lovely and knows a lot about books. Although the shop is modest in size, I'll argue you're bound to find something for any age. A gem of a store!

isa: Very cute place! Good for finding books or toys. The woman is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Ella D: An amazing place. I've been going there since I was a little kid! The employees are so nice. However, I don't go there a lot because it's kind of expensive.

Andrew Pitts: What a great store with knowledgeable staff. Great books for any aged child!

Demisha Kerns: It has great educational books and some great toys as well.

Kinder Haus Toys: what do users think?

beyondTabu: Great little store that has a bunch of different toys.Passed through here on a recommendation from a friend and got a couple toys as presents. They do gift wrapping too

Hessa Jasem: We missed our favorite store during covid-19 surprisingly they stay the best option as they offers curb side pickup. Great customer service they've helped pick a gift through phone and new books for my toddler girl. Extremely happy.

Arn: What I love most about Kinder Haus is that there just isn’t any other toy store like it anymore. No Target or other big retailer can compete with the feel of this place. They have an expansive selection of toys and books (a lot of really good Usborne books that we haven’t found elsewhere). Our kids also love going there to play with the train set and the little store. Before the pandemic they ran a lot of great events too and the staff is really friendly!

Ryan: They were out of stock of quite a few toys. Also, it's over 2 years since the pandemic and you're still requiring masks? The indoor mask mandate in VA was dropped months ago.

Ali Bennett: I had a great experience shopping at Kinder Haus Toys for the first time last week! They have a large selection of toys, well organized throughout the store and even offer complimentary gift wrapping. I will definitely be returning!

Mia McAuley: Great store. Helpful and nice staff. When I bought a small book they wrapped it up with paper and bow for free. There are some Disney products but not as comprehensive as Disney stores' (obviously). The selection of toys and baby/children care items is top notch, for exmpl: the washable markers are made by the fancy German brand I get at Blick Art Store in DC. The selection is cute, good quality, well designed, and they stock local products like a Caps beanie baby and face masks. 💯

Kerry Carlson: Such a cute space! They have so many great toys, books, puzzles, and apparel for kids.

Siddharth Gore: Awesome toy store! Brings out the inner-kid :) Customer services was amazing too - they wrap gifts if you buy something there.

Oliver Sherouse: A lovely little shop with an excellent selection of gifts and high-quality toys covering a variety of ages. We always find something neat when we come in here, and something else we can't want to get until the kid's a little bit older.

Becky Bowman: Really lovely customer service! I called to order a Mother's Day present, to be shipped (since we're staying home right now). I received photos of the wrapped package and gift note via text message, as well as the UPS tracking number. Everything arrived in time and in great shape. Thank you so much!

One Two Kangaroo Toys: what do users think?

Daniel Stuart Holmes: They have great toys that my kids love. A lot of the toys here are ones that are not sold in the larger “big box” retailers. Charlie (the owner) is a fantastic person and is always incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.

alex stevens: The store is small and does not stand out among the numerous restaurants and shops of Shirlington and it only has a few rooms but it is literally packed floor to ceiling with toys for all ages. The shop clerk was passionate and happy to go thru the stores wares to help me find the right toy for my nephews fist birthday. The selection is excellent with a wide variety of toys that range from the toy sets and vehicles to puzzles that start from a few months thru toddlers and older. The store offers gift wrapping as a service and it is wonderful to walk out with a toy freshly wrapped after browsing thru their selection. I have made it a point to tell my family about this store and i will happily make this my first choice to shop at in the future.

Lindsey: I visit this toy shop about 10x a year. When you walk in, it’s like you’ve entered a place of pure joy——like when the Beast shows Belle the library. That kind of joy. They have something for kids of all ages starting at newborn (I like the 1,000 piece puzzles and board games). The owners are great at providing suggestions based on a child’s age and even personality. On more than one occasion I needed to stick to a budget, so the owner helped me find the perfect gifts and stay within that budget. These are not gifts you can find in your local retail store. They are quality gifts, and because of that + small business, they can be pricey, so keep that in mind as you explore the shop. A must visit when in Shirlington.

Melanie Frost: Delightful! I can't remember the last time I was in a store that sparked actual delight. It is so fun to be in a toy store with an owner that cares so much and thoughtfully picks out each toy and book. I recognized many of the premier brands (Hape, Haba, Magna-tiles, etc) that make toys my kids use over and over. I got several personalized recommendations for birthday presents from the owner's sister who was watching the store. The prices are fair and they do have toys at all price levels. For me, if there was any little extra it was worth it for the vanishing experience of joy and expert assistance, along with knowing I am supporting a local business that was hurt badly in the pandemic. Worth the trip!

Rachel Sloan: Wonderful little store, found everything I needed for my friends’ new babies! The lady who helped me made some good recommendations and was very helpful.

Frances Ding: This place is amazing! It is a small store but there is an incredible selection since they restock daily. The owner is very knowledgeable about all his products - and children and their development. He told us his philosophy is to stock toys that all have some educational or developmental component. I really appreciate his curated selection, especially since it is overwhelming to pick good quality toys now. Overall, will definitely be coming back, and feel lucky to have stumbled across this gem of a store!

Kathleen Lewis: This store is my absolute favorite children's store. I've been going there for years and always leave happy that I stopped in. The owner, Charlie, is the kindest, most helpful man. The selection of toys are high-quality and well curated. Whether you're shopping for your own children or have no idea what to get for a friend's child or relative, please go support this local, small business. Charlie will point you in the right direction but with no pressure or upselling. If you're not already convinced, there's also free and adorable gift wrapping!

Nathan W: Great store, fantastic selection of high quality toys. I bought a gift for a friend’s child, and the owner even wrapped it for me. With stores reopening now to a slightly different world, now is your chance to support and preserve small businesses - and to say no to Amazon and big box stores!

Camille Galdes: This is the greatest toy store in the area--extremely wide selection of well curated, high-quality toys from all over the world. The owner is so knowledgeable and kind and helpful everyone who comes in find the appropriate gift or toy for their little one. I'm trying to find a way to get at least a gift certificate for this store during the COVID19 crisis because nothing would make be sadder than if our favorite toy store closed.

Lisa Delmonico: This toy store is a gem. It is tiny and filled floor to ceiling with nothing but fabulous high quality toys and games. We have shopped there for years. The owner is a kindly man who knows his toys and games as well as children and parents. Our kids are older now but he still has great games and puzzles for them and us. You receive very personalized attention here from someone who knows. Although I love amazon as much as the next person, shopping here is a wonderful experience and worth the trip!

Fair Day's Play: what do users think?

Beast_A_Tron: The store feels like home and treats you well. The owner down to the employees are very nice and will help when needed. Would recommend, hoping for the day to buy from them online.

Sanford Anopolsky: I had the most amazing experience with fair days play. My wife and I were looking for a hard to find game that we learned is no longer in print. I called the store and they immediately knew about it. For perspective, I had called six other toy stores in the Washington DC area and only one other had heard of it. The owner of fair days play offered to look in her storage shed to see if she could find one for me.She said it might take a while and she would call me back, which she did the very next day. Believe it or not she had one and found it! I was so excited but our plans were to leave town and I wasn’t able to get it from her store when she opened. That’s when the most extraordinary thing occurred. She offered to meet me at a highway exit near her store and sell me the game in a parking lot. I was pleasantly surprised that she offered to do this and no this could never happen and the other kind of store, other than a sole proprietor ship with an owner that cares. This is the kind of service and interest you only get from someone who loves what they do. It’s sort of reminds me of what you might see on a TV commercial but we all cynically dismiss it as father. But this store totally helped me. I will always go to the store first for my game needs and recommend that if you have something hard to find or just main stream, this owner cares about games and her customers and it’s worth going to. We need more stores like this

Darla Benton: Great toys. Wonderful staff!I would recommend it to any that was looking for the perfect gift!

Linda Kolko: Wonderful selection of toys for all ages. You can set up appointments or come by and she will meet you outside to look at toys. Just let her know what you want. All fair trade or union made. No discounted junk.

Felton Woodson-Armstrong III: Very intimate environment with a lot of cool toys, board games, and books you won’t be able to find at big name stores. The owner is a very nice lady and is very knowledgeable about every product in her store. 11/10 would recommend!
Response: Thank you for your kind review. We take great care and time to build this store for the community. And, it matters that we reach people through our games and toys and smiles in a meaningful way!

Laura Miller Craig: Great, quirky, independent toy and game store. They have the beautiful, high-end board games like Catan, ticket to ride, and tokaido. Made-in-America dress up clothes worthy of handing down. Wooden baby toys, science kits, puzzles, Arts n crafts, puppets and stuffed animals. Magic cards, Pokémon, dice, you name it! Its kind of amazing how much is under one small roof! The owner is super knowledgeable about age appropriate toys and what’s the latest craze, which is great for selecting birthday presents. Highly recommend- hope this is one place that can survive the big-box store competition.

Betty Thompson: This small shop is crammed with wonderful toys and books, and the owner is a superb guide who knows her inventory extremely well and gives great advice about current favorites, tried-and-true, and best matches for your favorite kids’ ages and interests. It’s like an overflowing treasure chest of toys, games, and books, at all price points – the special strategy games that my older grandkids have heard of, the simple toys that fit my two-year-old grandchild, cuddly creatures for new babies, hula hoops and jump ropes and so many classic toys, the surprise small new things (LED party balloons? Yup, and I bought them as stocking-stuffers!) -- really everything I’ve ever wanted is in there, and there is no more patient guide than the owner. She is also a wonderful collaborator when I come in with a child; if a child clearly wants something and I whisper a request, the owner will whisk it behind the counter and help me pay and smuggle it out without the child knowing – which isn’t really hard because children always find something fun here to distract their attention. I also love knowing I can trust these playthings. Today I bought some well-made plastic farm animals (plus more exotic ones I couldn’t resist) and I am very grateful that I don’t need to wonder if they were made with toxic paints; the owner wouldn’t stock them in that case. Because of the personal attention, this isn’t a store for rushing: instead, it’s a store to love year after year after year. I always smile going in, and smile even more going out with special gifts.

Josh Massey: Friendly and patient staff. The owner knows all of the games and toys really well. She provided me with a great recommendation for a birthday party and even sold me on a game that we play often and love. There is something here for everyone - bring out your inner child and go visit.

Solar Berg: forget the big stores! this is an excellent family-owned independent toy store. our family loves it here. one warning... it's so much fun, it's hard to get the kiddies out the store after you've purchased your items. great spot!

Elizabeth Rosenberg: Always my favorite place to go for toys! They have educational games, toys, and books as well as puzzles! The staff is always very welcoming and helpful. I love shopping here!

The LEGO® Store Fashion Centre: what do users think?

Steve Richard: I bought a little Lego charm bracelet with my six-year-old daughter. When we were walking around the mall, one of the charms fell off. We went back and asked if we could buy a replacement. Kim and Leslie were so kind. They took one out of a display and gave it to us for free. What an incredible customer experience. They made my daughter so happy. Give those two a raise!
Response: Hi Steve! Providing a brick-tastic experience for every visitor is extremely important to us, so we're really pleased to hear about your visit and about Kim and Leslie's service! We hope to see you and your daughter again soon, but until then, happy building! - Sarah, LEGO® Customer Service

Sean Westgate: If you love Lego you'll love this place. LEGO's so crazy expensive these days that it's hard to justify buying them, but my kids love them. And the store was very good. I liked the staff very much.

Elahe Javadi: Nice selection, helpful staff. A young lady named Kim helped us today...she was very friendly & knowledgeable! The store has good promotions for VIP members.

Brandon: Visited that place a few weeks ago and brought two new City sets (the mobile crane and the beach lifeguard tower). Shoutout to the genius herself, Alex! She was on point and very eager to help! She is also pretty fun to talk to about anything involving Lego. That is why she is my favorite person there and I hope to see her in the store more often. It wouldn't be the same without her.

Kevin Brothers: They have great salespeople here. It is really hard to leave the store without buying anything. They are passionate about what they do.

Christina Prather: Really disappointed to see posted store hours not upheld. Came at 8pm to find the store closed despite being listed as open til 9pm. Make sure you call before you drive here and waste your time and have to pay for parking!

LeAnne Wheeler: The staff was friendly and showed a willingness to help my husband find an appropriate lego set for our 3 yr old. The store was not overly crowded and the registers were open; eliminating a long wait.

Robert Ilijason: Small but great Lego store with a good assortment of kits. I especially like that you can buy mini figs in piecemeal.

Abir Chowdhury: If you ever forget what your childhood was like! Drop by ! From star wars to pirate ships to an open sandbox to create anything and everything ! I wish I can just get lost here with my imagination unleashed. Let your inner child roam free !!!

Jacob Wernicke: The most attentive lego store staff I have ever experienced working with. Always a happy demeanor.
Response: Hi Jacob, thanks for your visit to our store and for letting us know about the attentive customer service! We hope you'll stop by again soon to check out our ever-changing selection of sets and building toys! - Sarah, LEGO® Customer Service

Child's Play Toys and Books: what do users think?

Brandy Ly: Visited with my sister and cousin a few weeks ago and enjoyed the selection of books they carried. Not a fan of the employee following us around without saying a single word. From my experience if you think someone is suspicious you still greet and engage them normally. But the employee would show up right behind us as we browsed the entire store. Make direct eye contact with us, so clearly not another guest. We still purchased a puzzle, books, and bath toys for my baby niece. Last page of the book was torn but our bad for not checking. Although I have a feeling we'd look even more "sneaky" for inspecting the book. I'd still like to visit again since I collect calico critters and some other brands they carry. Hopefully I'm treated normally next time. Not asking for anything above and beyond. Please keep in mind; just because we aren't children and don't look like parents does not mean we have no business being in your store.

O L: Appears to be an independent toy store?!?! Diverse toy selection with very helpful staff Lady was so nice in trying to help me figure out what to get kids I did not know well The even offer gift-wrapping which is a plus Wasn’t as neat and tidy as I would do at home but it was good enough for convenience…

Mary Wolff: This place is amazing for infants and kids of any age... including kids at heart. Both the toy and book collections are out of this world 🌎! What a gem 💎! 💖

Steve Quartell: Great customer service to grown up and child shoppers a like. Staff helped me navigate my nieces' wishlists and Liz had great book recommendations and worked with me til close until I had what I needed. Fantastic experience.

Matthew Henry: Love this place. We are older in life, have a ton of neices and nephews and aren't up on all the latest. Walking into this place you are immediately greated by how can I help you. We tell the ages and interests and we walk away the holiday and birthday heros.

James Thomas: Anti vaccine store that doesn’t believe in the sound science of vaccinations. This store has traditionally had a very small selection, poorly trained staff, and high prices. Take your money and your children to another toy store like Doodlehopper.

Richard Sexton: They would not let my 15 month into store without a mask. No signs or notices of not allowing people under two in without a mask and drove from dc to get here. I was wearing a mask and wanted to pick out at toy for our son. Not sure how this store has stricter requirements than anywhere else for kids under 2. Must have a epidemiologist on staff. This is ridiculous. Where do you draw lines here. Do service dogs need to wear masks or new born babies or let’s require hazmat suits...with oxygen tanks? Funny how airports can figure out how to let children under 2 not wear masks but this small “toy store” is completely flabbergasted by the idea. Will never support this store in future!!!

Taylor Mantzke: Big name brands but also more niche things, very cool, high quality stuff. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

Elizabeth Christy: This is my children’s favorite place to go in the world! They have a huge selection, including a massive section of books— much larger than toys r us did. Quality, interesting, fun toys with great play value! Tons of LEGO and everything else you’d expect as well.

Mike Machtinger: This is a great local toy store. The best thing about, and this is huge, is that they wrap anything you buy for free. At nearly every children's birthday party in McLean, you will see their gift wrap. This is reason enough to shop here. As a bonus, they have great a selection of popular and unique toys, and prices within a couple dollars of the big box stores (that will not wrap for you!!)

Five Below: what do users think?

Tsukiko: The staff here are really nice! I’ve had some great chit chats about squishmallows with a few of them. The store is always clean and organized as well.

O'Donna “Boochie Daniels” Daniels: I love this store.. went it on 5/9 they had no Candy... Could you guys please restock

David Ruffner: EVERYONE WAS SOOO NICE. The cashier asked me if I was okay. The security guard greeted me one the way out. Best experience at five below, the cashier that was nice was wearing light blue with a 1998 necklace (4:40 8/4)

CARMEN ANITA KEELS: #REDSKINS #DieHards4Life And Its A #HeatWave Needed BackUp With 3 WaterPack Guns!! #Ynot😜😃🤪🤪

Rebecca Jones: Staff are always pleasant. They could hire someone to place posters in correct order by number. I am sure they would sell a lot more. They have a great selection. The staff they have there now are perfect.🔥🔥💯

Cilver: I wanted to share that I enjoyed my trip to this store yesterday due to the great customer service shown by the employees there, and my cashier Mr. KJ. The store is very clean and well organized which always makes my shopping experience quick and easy.

J. McCormick: Ethically, it's difficult to like this store. Sell a bunch of things that effectively won't work for more than a week or so, to folks who can only afford that. Great to stop for candy or Cokes, but overall, the marketing and idea as a whole is sketch to me.

Sharon Bradley: Love this place, it has some of everything!

chantal yameogo: My son always advised me to go to 5 five Below and when I got there for my first time I was surprise because I saw good supplies and at a great price.

George Worsley: The staff was very friendly but I ask more than one crew member for a charger and was told by both of them that its in the back and they can not reach it . I help open that store when I was 17 we maintain inventory on the floor organized Overstocked items in the back and had all delivers put away by at least by noon very dissatisfied by lack of empathy I would never tell a paying guest we have exactly what you want but we won't get it .I evan waited and check back but to no avail

Build-A-Bear Workshop: what do users think?

Emily Ford: Helpful and friendly staff really made my visit magical. Would love to go again sometime.

Ankhi Lindemyer: This is a fun thing to do, but the people who work there were not very enthusiastic. Kinda puts a damper on the whole thing. It was our first time being in a BAB workshop. I really think it could have been fun if the people there took a second to explain things or just be a little nicer.

Courjae jones: So amazing and nice. Everything was adorable

Peta Towns: Best experience for littles. They are not able to help build their own best due to Covid restrictions but the experience is still one that children will love!

Gregory Atkins: I got the cool kid Griffin Claw from this location! 10/10 would recommend!

Wa Wa: Nice and full of items you can purchase!

Bri Stallings: It's really unfortunate that I have to give this store a bad rating because I actually like Build-A-Bear as a company, but at this location there is a particular employee by the name of Bryttney that gives a bad taste in my mouth. Given the fact that this young lady comes in my store on a regular basis quiet as a mouse and normally pleasant to everyone, I find it shocking, confusing, and quite disrespectful that she somehow finds the time to go on Google to post a rude and disrespectful review about one of the sweetest and most hard working baristas in our store. I honestly don't know how she could possibly have a problem when she mobile orders 90 percent of the time meaning that she's IN AND OUT within a reasonable amount of time (except busy days) on top of the fact that whenever she comes in everyone on our staff is very nice to her (including myself). Hopefully this store gets better and more positive employees to represent Build-A-Bear, it's brand, and the positivity that Build-A-Bear stands for. Thanks for reading viewers!!!

Bernoullie Doricent: We had my daughter's 4th birthday party at Build-A-Bear National Harbor and she had a blast. The host was super friendly and entertaining. We were happy with the service.

Johnathan Randall (GameDotExe): We arrived early for the age promotion after a 2 hour bus ride and had to leave the line to let my daughter use the restroom (this was a surprise early birthday trip and treat). Upon returning to the line we were directed to the back and upon arrival told no one else could get in line. This is all well before 11 am. We even saw a family leave the line and the employee refused to allow us to return to the line to take their place. Absolutely ridiculous. The store disconnected the phones so all calls get rejected. Customer service must be so swamped that I get a circuit full messages and call reject. There is no way to reach anyone and I'm standing out in the heat with our 7 month old and two year old completely floored by the uncaring attitude and compassionless response to our situation. Edit: Apparently build a bear is sending out vouchers, but that doesn't excuse this employee or store. My wife was even able to return to her spot in line (thanks to those in line near us previously) and the woman who turned us away from trying to do the right thing kicked her out of line just because she saw her near the back. She even threatened to call the police. I'm not sure if this was due to my wife's race or religion (African and Muslim) but she was the only person getting threatened for returning to her spot in line when others were definitely doing the same to seek shade for the kids or to find a bathroom just like us. Maybe it's time to seek a lawyer. Would avoid this store if I were you.

Eric Larson: Go to a different one. I've never had such a glum Build-a-Bear experience in my life. My girlfriend and I went here for our anniversarry on 11/14 at 7:30 pm, and the only person in the store was lifeless and bored throughout the whole experience. Our plushie's voice box is missing somewhere in its stuffing, we asked for a carry-out box that obviously turned out to be too small for it and the store clerk didn't say anything until we had to point it out, and she couldn't describe a single thing about the membership program that was offered. I was just told, "It gives you coins and stuff." I swear the plushie we built had more life than the person who assisted us! Anyone interested is better off at a different workshop. Build-a-Bear, as the name suggests, is about the experience, and I wouldn't want anyone to have ours.

Doodlehopper 4 Kids: what do users think?

Elizabeth Christy: This is the only toy story we go to. It is large, but not so much that you would get lost. And it has an incredible variety which books is on creativity and pretend play, as opposed to low play value toys and collectibles. Most of my children's most beloved and well used toys were purchased here. The gift wrapping service is great, the stuffed animal section has only the best quality and an incredible variety. And everything feels like you are hugging a cloud! The arts and crafts section could rival Michaels. Love it. We come here on our falls Church day trips. It is near the green, a traditional ice cream shop, and a coffee shop. The kids love walking in Old Town, and when they see the toy store... they run!

Trinity S.: Not many stores like this left! Yes, I am an adult.. and I shop here... For myself. Absolutely no shame! Very friendly staff and something new and different no matter what direction you turn. This store is PACKED with awesome toys. From squishmallows to Lego.
Response: Thank you!

Azaline Adkison: Genuinely love this store so much and am so happy that it is a part of our community! They have so many unique items and are constantly rotating stock. I first ran into them when looking for a gift for my 11-year-old nephew, who is virtually impossible to shop for. I managed to find a Rubiks cube he had never even heard of before, as well as a lot of really special small items for him and his siblings. It is now my regular place for kids gifts, puzzles, family-friendly board games, and especially Squishmallows! The employees here have so much patience and are so enthusiastic about this shop and the folks that come through.
Response: We love being a neighborhood toy store and serving the community. We actually do love what we do! Thanks for your kind words.

Bryar Welton: A large selection! There are many treasures in here. The prices are reasonable and selection is pretty vast. There are items in their supply that are often difficult to find at other stores. A good choicefor quality options. The store arrangement makes sense. Parking available behind the store. I will return to it to purchase morefor my niece
Response: Thank you for dropping by and taking your time to post your kind comments! Hope to see you soon.

DHP: Cute store! Stopped in to buy my 2yo niece a gift (which she loved!). Didn't have time to truly explore, so I'll definitely be back to support a local business!

Justin Alexander: A wide range of children's clothing and toys, used to be a great place to find Madame Alexander dolls, cute gift items, things for baby showers. Great staff, nice location, plenty of parking

M K: Amazing selection for every age, and the sales associates were EXTREMELY helpful!!! Could not recommend enough, I wish I was buying toys more often.

Ken Healy: My daughter loves this place. They have the friendliest staff, wall-to-wall toys, and it's always amazed me how well-organized they are able to keep the store, considering the amount of merchandise packed into such a small space. I would think kids would always be wrecking the place. Maybe this speaks to the respect the community has for this little gem of a business. My daughter and I always go in just to browse all the latest stuff, and I never fail to spoil her by succumbing to the urge to put a smile on her face and show my support for one of my favorite local businesses. It's an absolute must on your list of shopping stops in Falls Church. They even have a restroom, and a parking lot is located behind the store.
Response: 🤗 Thank you!

Felicia Adkins: What a great small business! Love this toy store. We used to shop at the one in Springfield before they closed. Drove over here to falls church to get some Christmas toys for my grandson. What a great selection of quality toys for small people! Very friendly and helpful staff as well. There is something new everywhere you look! Look up on the top shelves surrounding the store too! They pack a lot of great things in a small space!
Response: Thank you for your kind words and loyalty. We truly appreciate your business.

Luke Hendrixson: My wife and son have visited this store several times. There are always several toys pulled off the shelf my by son which makes only buying one a challenge. Prices are higher than online stores but well worth it to see how happy my kid I walking out of the store with his new toy. We recommend this retailer for anyone that wants to see the joy of a kid in a toy store.
Response: Thank you for your kind comments. It's a pleasure serving you and your family. Hope to see you soon.

Three Littles: what do users think?

Dana Ray: Went into the Three Littles store just after Christmas with a gift card I'd asked for and received at my baby shower! The store owner noticed that I was late in my pregnancy and told me there would be a restock of items better for newborns in January after the holiday rush if I didn't see anything that day that caught my eye. I opted to wait a few weeks and got a gorgeous baby crinkle book! It's truly lovely. The whole store has such high quality items, meant to last through the decades. Worth the investment!

Julien Garman: This is my go-to shop for all our nieces and nephews birthdays! They’ve curated such a beautiful selection that doesn’t feel overwhelming. I once had the shop put together a little gift basket for a friend’s baby shower when I was in a pinch and couldn’t make it out to the shop - I just gave them my budget and they put it together for me with a little note. This gem is worth the visit (online or in person!!)

Chelsea I.: Three Littles is often a weekend walk destination to see the cute things or at minimum the cute pup, Monkey! I’ve gone in for quick little $10 valentine gifts, or more curated shower, birthday, etc. gifts. I love that the items are high quality and from reputable brands. Elizabeth the owner, and the other shop employees are so kind and helpful. There’s definitely a lack of “nice” baby stores in DC, so I’m thankful this is close to us. Love this store & will continue to be a repeat customer!

Nicole “Nicole M” Muheim: I absolutely love Three Littles. They have such fun and unique baby/ kids gifts. I go here for all my friend’s kids birthday presents and baby shower gifts. Now that I have my own little I’ll be stopping by and shopping online even more! These are the kind of stores that make a city a community. Thanks for being here Elizabeth and team!

Jennifer Calhoun: This is the best store to go for babies, kids, and adults! It’s truly essential, especially as a first time parent. Every book I’ve purchased from here has been my kid’s favorite, asked for again and again, and I never get tired of reading them either. I feel confident when she puts toys from Three Littles in her mouth that they are non toxic and baby safe. Elizabeth only stocks the best of the best and it’s so helpful — I have to do enough research on baby gear so I love shopping with confidence that whatever she has in store is something that kids will love. Her candles and self care items for parents/adults are also amazing, Driftwood is the perfect candle scent. There’s truly something here for every age and stage.

Hannah Zlotnick: Three Littles is my go-to shop for baby gifts, and I never make it out without picking up something for my own little! I love the ever-changing selection of beautiful and unique toys, clothes and accessories. It’s always a treat to stop in and see what’s new. I also appreciate that the shop always feels like a welcoming and safe place to bring my child in to shop. It’s meaningful to shop somewhere that welcomes letting my kiddo explore the store and play with the toys.

Hannah Hudson: We have had only the best experiences from Three Littles. I love the thoughtful items they keep in stock. I always know I can find a unique gift here for kids and adults. Elizabeth had her heart and soul in this shop and in making kids happier! We love this store!

Florence reddick: If you do one thing today, go to Three Littles. Elizabeth, the shop keeper, is the kindest woman, and makes every person who enters her store feel welcome. My kids love when they get to come along and spend an hour trying to choose what toy to bring home. Whenever they have a birthday or Christmas, the first place I look is Three Littles. I know without a doubt this is the best kids store in DC. So thankful to be able to access this beautiful store!

Nick and Katie B.: We absolutely adore Three Littles. We live out of the DC area and only shop online. Their team works tirelessly to ensure that the super cute, new products are available in store, and online so that we can still get amazing gifts for friends, family, and our little ones. I always look over the baby registry for my friends and find a comparable option that is cuter/more sustainable from Three Littles to have shipped directly to the recipients home. I also appreciate that there is a wide price point available - I’m able to get small stocking stuffers under $10 or a big ticket item that is harder to find!

Lindsey Benedetti: There are too many amazing things to say about Three Littles and the owner, Elizabeth, on this review so I will highlight my favorite part of shopping here. I love that I can message Elizabeth with who I am shopping for and my budget and she will pull together the best mix of goodies for me. She truly works so intentionally to make sure there is something for every budget and her store creates such a positive impact in our community.

Labyrinth Games & Puzzles: what do users think?

Martin Lucero: Amazing selection and passionate, knowledgeable staff. Great place to try new games and meet other gamers! Great venue for parties too.
Response: Thanks. We are so happy that parties are back!

Danira Ortiz: Friendly staff. The store is very organized. They have a ton of stuff yet it doesn’t feel crowded. They do have signs but they are small and blend in. I wish they were more visible.
Response: Thanks. We are currently contemplating new signage so your feedback is appreciated. :)

Elizabeth Tate: The Thursday night board game nights are a ton of fun, and this board game shop has some seriously helpful staff. Don’t know how to play a game or you need a specific game? These people will show you the ropes! Awesome shop, now making it part of my weekly routine to come and hang out 💯
Response: Thanks so much for the review. We love everyone who plays games with us. :)

Nicole Woodworth: Absolutely amazing game store! The best one in DC!!! Everything is organized and easy to find, very reasonable prices, wide variety of board games, tabletop role playing games, Magic cards, Pokémon Cards, and more!!! The whole staff was extremely friendly despite being busy and took time to answer any questions we had. 10/10 highly recommend!!!

Daniel Hudson: Incredibly helpful staff, great selection, and competitive prices. They give a ton back to the community and run events for local youth. Best game store in the area. Check it out on Thursday nights for game night. Learn a new game and make a nee friend. Well worth the trip!
Response: Thanks so much for the kind words. We always try to give back. It's very important to us.

Declan Glueck: This was an awesome stop! Great selection of games, knowledgeable staff, and really cute space overall. I left with a new board game, and look forward to trying out their board game night next Thursday.
Response: Aw, thanks so much. We hope you were able to make it to board game night. Please visit again soon.

Drew Carlisle: Really helpful staff that can always give suggestions appropriate to what you're looking for, a great selection of games and puzzles, and they have a dedicated section for kids. Would recommend and will return. Ask about their loyalty program and you can also browse their online store to have them pull your selections ahead of your arrival if you're not wanting to just come in and browse. Buy local :)
Response: Thanks so much! We love helping, and fully support buying small and local!

Edward Habib: Labyrinth is one of my favorite local businesses. They have a great selection, very friendly and well-informed staff, and the prices are generally on par with those on Amazon. Labyrinth also hosts great used game sales, giveaways, and community events. Every visit to Labyrinth is wonderful.
Response: Thanks so much for the kind words. We really appreciate you.

Brandy Clements: The BEST store for puzzles, games, etc!!! Seriously me and my husband went shopping for ourselves, our 2 year old, and 6 year old and we ended up spending an hour just looking around (we bought way too much stuff too lol) the staff was SO sweet and knowledgeable. I overheard many conversations with other customers "I have an 11 year old girl who likes X, Y and Z what would you recommend?" And they knew exactly what to do and say. Well def be back as soon as we come back to DC!!
Response: Thanks so much. We hope to see you again soon. Recommendations are our staff's favorite game. :)

Rebecca Strang: I'm in town for a conference and love to check out game shops when I travel. Labyrinth did not disappoint! Super friendly and helpful staff, lovely selection of board games (love how they are organized, too), and I loooooved the selection of indie RPGs!! Oh, and I appreciate that masks are required! Will definitely visit whenever I'm in DC.
Response: It was nice meeting you! Whenever y'all are back in DC, let us know. We'd love to play games!!!

Anglo Dutch Pools & Toys: what do users think?

Eleni Tsakonas: I’m very glad for the purchase I made. It arrived so perfect with tags. Support small business's, I would recommend 10/10
Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write us such a wonderful review! We greatly appreciate it, as well as your patronage! Hope you have a great day, and thank you again for supporting our small business :)!

travelswithadiplomat: Just when you think you've seen every toy they've got you find a tiny crevice or shelf with something else. It's like a Toys R Us but crammed into a space a tenth of the size. Which makes it cool. The only thing I'd ask them to improve is their birthday card selection. After all, toys are usually gifts and you want the whole package in one visit...

Julia Adams: This place has a great variety of toys, games, activities for children, young adults and dare I say Adults too! Some of the inventory is get old so occasionally you get a set where most of the markers don't work. They could really use a sale to get rid of the old inventory but I've never seen a sale there like that. Sometimes they have so much inventory boxes are stacked up in the aisles. My kids beg to go to this store even just to look it's pretty fun. They have Hard to find brands in kids toys. The price for Ooly, Djeco, Klutz products are the same as you'd get online and it's a local business. Immediate gratification sand a benefit to the community, what's not to love? This is the best place to go for children's birthday party gifts. They have party supplies too. Incidentally they also have pool cleaning supplies and equipment.

Hyunghee Chun: I really admire this shop and enjoy shopping here. I had the opportunity to meet Francesca and she was nothing but kind. I can tell she sincerely cares about the customers and children. I have also ordered from their online website before and the transactions are always smooth. They really go the extra mile for their customers and it is greatly appreciated.

Melissa Lopez: Absolutely love them!! I ordered a mystery box on the website, all the way from California! My squish were well packaged and arrived safely. I will definitely be buying again from them!

Harold Vander Molen: Very nice store. Was impressed with the unusually wide variety of toys, especially those with an educational aspect. Will definitely shop there again.

Callan G: I ordered the 8" mystery box and they shipped it across the country for me!! I love the squishmallows I got in the mystery box and they were wrapped very nicely in tissue paper. I highly recommend buying squishmallows from Anglo dutch!! <3

Jennifer Lawley: This store is AMAZINGG! Best customer service I’ve probably ever received! Francesca always helps me when it comes to SQUISHMALLOWS! My kids love them and this was one of the first stores I found that would ship them and not only that, they were beyond kind and helpful with any and all questions I had! So nice to know there’s still some good & helpful people out there! We are repeat customers and will continue to be!!

Sadie Jordan: AMAZING SQUISH DROP! Handed out tickets to hold your place in line, what a great idea! I was able to get one of each axolotl and it was definitely worth the drive. Family ran and they are all sweet and very helpful! Well priced squishmallows.

Maria Villani: I recently was searching for toy stores in Bethesda who offer shipping or store pick up. Luckily I was able to browse the extensive gift selections online and pick up in store curbside. They offer free gift wrapping which is such a nice amenity during the busy holiday season and for someone like me who typically throws stuff in a bag and adds tissue paper. I picked out 4 age appropriate toys for my niece and nephews. I really like the website and how you can navigate to find what you need. Grouped by age group, type, etc it's easy to find what you need in a flash. The customer service via email and in person was very friendly despite a probably challenging time with covid stressors and also the busy factor of last minute holiday shopping. The shopping center itself might be leveled so I hear but I hope this location survives and can move to another if need be. Happy to support local businesses rather than the big box stores. More than ever they need our support! Total for 4 toys ages 6-10 was about $ 150.
Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write us such a wonderful review! We greatly appreciate it, as well as your patronage! Hope you have a great weekend, and thank you again!

Monarch Novelty Co: what do users think?

Jim Plante: This app is rediculous! I've never set foot in the establishment. I've probably walked past a few times. Hey Google, how figuring how to fix this app so it stops asking me to review businesses I never visited. Better yet, how about allowing a user to opt out of this part of the Maps app. P.S.: I gave it one star because the app insited I rate the business before allowing me to post this. I have no idea if the business rates one star, five stars or none at all.

alice lloyd: Delightfully brigadoonish, truly no place like it — so glad he’s still in business!! Wonderful assortment of vintage party favor bric-a-brac and (my favorite) old political swag

Michell W: The value for money you'll get when you avail of the services of the people here is amazing. You don't have to spend too much. Everything fits the budget.

Clark Matthews: Very strange old place!

Transcendence-Perfection-Bliss Of The Beyond: what do users think?

Thomas Tesoriero: The best collection of unique cards and a great assortment of small gifts and (yes) plush animals for kids. And a few other interesting small gift options. Really a lovely and wonderful NEIGHBORHOOD store.

Ryan Gerecht: Cute store but Shockingly rude and disrespectful staff. Absolutely not kid friendly. Love shopping locally but would never go back in this store.

Christina Wycoff: 3 stars for sheer variety and quantity of items and friendly service. It is a bit of a treasure hunt though with the way the store is laid out and displays are a bit cluttered. Found some unique items though. Also sells second hand items. Near several other kids' stores so this is an easy stop among others along the same theme.

Stephanie E Walker: Great cards, calendars, a variety of stationary, mugs, incense, candles, jewelry, wrapping paper, toys for children to adult, some books and much more. Great atmosphere.....

lydia pesant: Suprabha, the owner, is one of the most pleasant and kind in DC area.Store is a lovely and peaceful place, with nice selection of gifts and cards.

Miriam Elise: Really lovely store! Definitely will return - suggest holidays shopping here.

Paula Suarez-Buitron: Great place to find a gift for all ages and beautiful cards

d k: A cute place, with a lot of interesting nicnacks.

Hart's Desires: what do users think?

rachel ibihwiori: they conned me into buying the weakest poorly working toy and tried way too hard to sell their own brand’s stuff. i feel like they want to have their shop look so clean and modern but in reality it just makes it kinda empty and shows they lack variety. just wack
Response: Rachel, first thanks for visiting our store! As dope as that sounds we don't have our own line of toys. Our associates often recommend their favorites or popular toys but have no way of knowing if that toy is going to be perfect for you. Our bodies are all different and enjoy different stimulation. We found that a lot of people get overwhelmed in adult stores, especially newbies, which are some of our favorite customers. Even though we have hundreds of products in the store, we like to have things layed out in a way that everyone can soak it all in stress free. Sorry this didn't work for you.

Keylin Rivera: Spent a lot of money on items that broke the first day. Seems like they purchase cheap items and up there price drastically. Not worth it. Take your $$ elsewhere. I called to see if an item that broke could get replaced and was told no.
Response: Keylin, thanks for visiting our store! Our sales associate remembered your interaction and tried their very best to help you. Every motorized toy in our store is taken out of the box, explained, shown how to charge the toy, and most importantly verified that it is working. You did not buy a toy that could be checked, you purchased a kit with non vibrating and consumable items. When you called back to the store, unsure of how to use the products, the same associate tried to instruct you over the phone. When they realized you weren't quite grasping it they asked if you could come back to the store to explain the items face to face, which you declined. We love having novices to our products come in to experience new things and try our very best to give them the best instructions to enjoy our products to the fullest. We'd love for you to visit us again and if you need further instructions on any of your products we're still here for you!

Tarica Danielle: The toy stopped working in less than 2 month's of purchase. I called to see if there was a warranty and the guy that answered the phone was extremely rude and had an very unnecessary attitude with me for some reason. I don't recommend this store, both the store product and customer service is POOR. Do better.
Response: Hi Tarica! First I want to apologize for the way your phone conversation with us transpired. Most of our products do have a manufacturer warranty in place that has to be redeemed with the manufacturer. Please email me at shani@hartsdesires.com and I will be more than happy to direct you to the right website to start the warranty process for your particular item.

Savvy Siren: LOVE this store! The owners--Shani and Mike--a married couple, are AMAZING! They are very knowledgeable about their product offerings and make you feel extremely comfortable the moment you walk through the doors, no matter what you may be into. It's a judgment-free zone! Visiting the store is like going to an old friend's. Store is clean and well-organized, and the products are reasonably priced. What are you waiting for...GO NOW!

Elaine Marie: I came in here today to buy 3 pairs and shoes and other miscellaneous items, totaling to over $400. When I first got here after my obnoxiously long Uber ride the sales lady told me they didn’t have a restroom I can use (I have IBS so I was pissed). I explained I’m going to drop a lot of money and that I was annoyed. I left, found a restroom and returned to buy my items. I ordered 2 pairs of boots and bought a pair of heels upright. The lady was on the phone with a manager/owner for 15-20min after I picked out my items. Store was clean and all but I’m disappointed. Also, they didn’t have one lingiere set in small.. order more if they sell out fast. Common sense. They had only 4-5 pairs of heels to choose from.. I expected a bigger selection.
Response: Elaine, First, I want to apologize that you did not have the best experience at our store. Our sales associate did have to follow protocol that resulted in her having to phone a manager for details on how to handle your unique transaction. We do apologize for not having a restroom for public use. Due to our restroom being connected to our storeroom, we can't allow customers in that space. Again we apologize for this inconvenience. To end on a positive note, I am happy that you were able to find inventory in our store to serve your needs. We appreciate your business. We pride ourselves on providing great customer service. I'd love to hear from you about ways to improve our customer service. Email me at shani@hartsdesires.com Once again I apologize on the behalf of Hart's Desires, and we wish to make this right.

Emily Lawrence: Wonderful store. The guy at the counter was extremely nice and helped me find the perfect products quickly and efficiently

DELL MULDROW: Hart's Desires is my favorite adult novelty store in the DMV. Great customer service.

Kellie Davis: Great place can't wait to actually visit. Have ordered online and received my product as ordered and very quickly.

Taylor Kuhlmann: Great selection of items. Reasonably priced. Super nice staff!
Response: Thank you so much for your review! I am very glad you enjoyed our store.

Eve Hassan: Awesome store and even more awesome associates!

Target: what do users think?

Chaturbhuj bhojwani: Very nice and clean store parking available in the basement, Only problem always low on the food inventor and produce and grocery.

Cliodhna MacFadden: We purchased the Element 65” TV, and after 3 days the backlight broke. We tried everything to fix it. Without a box or receipt in hand, we brought it back to see what may be possible to do. Associates TK, Nicole S, and Anton were able to use the debit card used to purchase to look up my receipt to get our return sorted. We so appreciate them going truly above and beyond to show us their compassion and excellent customer service.

Jasmine Thomas: Mobile Tech Has A Rude Raspy Voice Lady Working There. Ms.Kathy Is Extremely Unprofessional & Doesn’t Know What She Is Talking About. She Lied & Told Me That An AT&T Phone Was Unlocked. The Phone Wasn’t Unlocked & I Was Trapped In A Contract. I Explained To Her That I Wanted A Unlocked Phone & She Insisted On Telling Me The Phone I Bought Full Price Was Unlocked, Yet I’m Getting Stuff In My Email Saying I Have A Contract That I Have To Pay Off My Phone. Her Attitude Is Stank & She Never Has Her Mask Up On Her Face. Columbia Heights Target Do Better, Her and Her Unprofessional Ways Are Bringing Your Company Down Tremendously. I Will Be Reaching Out To Corporate!

Shayna Deverman: Dirty, unorganized, extremely low stock on everything. Items thrown everywhere, picked over. Shoe isle was a disgrace. Nice they have an “Ulta”, but very limited items. Took me several minutes to figure out where body wash was. Haircare, travel, makeup is all grouped together in the front/middle-like typical but body wash/deodorant was clear on the end of the store. Terrible flow. All that looking and they had very limited washes! Men’s selection had more to choose from. Went in there with a very basic list and got one thing on it… my nearest Walgreens was more helpful…disappointing since I love me a Target trip. I won’t be back to this one.

Kaila Gilbert: Good store, could benefit from more helpful signage 😂 idk throw a digital map on the wall or something. but even though I got vertigo/whiplash/confused trying to find a suitcase (they're on the 2nd floor in the wayback) no complaints and the people are good. Most people do self checkout bc line passes fast, so don't be intimidated if it's long. Idk choose your adventure. Shoe section looks a litttle crazy in the afternoons, but that's consistent with the behaviors/type of people who live here lmao. Moving too fast, not putting stuff back, lowkey entitled ahaha

Adah Deveaux: This review is for the starbucks within target. My drinks were great but a little of a wait. The actual target was customary.

Thomas Nali: NO PARKING VALIDATION Poor inventory. This is on a regular old Monday. I asked for the product I was looking for, they checked in the back, and said it was too hard to get to and another employee would work on it, but they don’t know how long it will be. This was at almost noon. Look at how few dairy products are on the shelf. Staff continued to prove unhelpful. I asked four different employees where a type of product was and they each told me to find someone who worked in that dept. OR they just told me they “probably don’t have it” WITHOUT even looking or bothering to find where it should be!! They tried to walk off but I said I am not satisfied until we find the shelf where it should be, and I’ve been looking for fifteen minutes. Took all of that to get some help finding one little thing.

Ted Socha: Ever since this Target added self-checkout, they've relied solely on it. At most, they open only one regular checkout line if self-checkout gets long. Better off going to the CVS across the street. 10/7/19 update: this place either needs to solve their self-checkout problem or open up more than one regular cash register

Sade Wilson: I was shopping today at the Washington D.C target store and was purchasing gift for my family I found some nice things and for a really good price. I went to check out and the items were ringing up different from what the price was upstairs I explained to the cashier he called for a manager. The manager name tiffany came and refuse to change the price the for two of the items but change it for the other too items. I continue checking out because I didn’t want to wait to long after I was done checking out I went upstairs to take pictures to show the manger she still refuse and walk away.

Donna Walker: Buyers we aware the prices in Target are going up every week and its terrible and make sure you know the prices of your items because the shelf price and the register price can be different at times. Security was following me for no reason so I had t let him know you are following the wrong person. I catch more people stealing at Target and I do not work there. Also, some of the employees are so rude. I will be recording my conversations with the employees when I need to ask for help as proof of how rude some of them can be.

Target: what do users think?

Sassy Sauce: This store opened a couple years ago and it’s always nice and clean. The day I went after work the store must have just received a truck because there were boxes of product on most of the aisles. But this store is generally very clean and organized. This isn’t a normal sized target though, it’s definitely smaller and has more of a convenient store type feel. But all of the normal Target staples are still there. There is parking under the store and it’s accessible using the escalators or elevator. There is a Starbucks as well. It’s a great store to visit!

Amreen Shafiuddin: poorly managed target.. no one knew answers for anything. customer service was poor. stocking issues in all the aisles. boxes everywhere.. the food items especially bread section don’t have best before stickers on them. when questioned, they just saw each other faces. poorly managed.

Tracie: Pros: Near my home. New store. Available parking structure. Decent customer service. By decent i mean - I haven't had a negative experience with the customer but no one has gone above and beyond helping me. Cons: Generally feels empty. Yet every time I enter the store i notice staff are in the middle of restocking and have crates of things in the middle of the hallways blocking the pass way. This was even before covid so not sure whats going on (pictures shown from Dec 2021). Also, doesn't appear to be a parking attendant so anytime anyone lost their ticket, their is chaos trying to get out. Finally, prices seem a little higher than other targets, i get the sense that because its smaller things are limited and maybe marked up? Or maybe its just inflation and the whole food chain/ports being a hot mess.

Mysiki X Valentine: Whoa! Let me begin on a positive. There is a cashier (older Black woman) Joan, who is the most pleasant staff worker. However, the younger staff can often be found tucked away on phones, having side conversation and etc..so finding help is always difficult. In addition, the customer service could never be described as friendly. But it does not end there, this is one of the worst Target’s I’ve ever went shopping. The store shelves stay empty. I recently order Beats headphones online for pick-up, I was emailed saying my order was ready—but when I got to the store the manager cancelled my order, stating the item was not in the store. Long behold, I walked to the back and there sat 3) pairs of the same item I came to pick-up. Her attitude was out of this world, I couldn’t believe she worked in customer service. No matter what time of the day, the aisles have carts full of products yet to be put away. Makes the store seem chaotic and disorganized. If it’s a quick stop, I’d advise going elsewhere. Looking to do serious shopping, never stop here. To end on a positive the food section is normally well stocked and presented nicely.

Kareem Carter: Lets start by saying I am appreciative of having a Target in this area of DC. The parking facility is safe and well lit, the store was reasonably stocked and clean. My gripe is with the professionalism of the management and the completely ineffective way they run the checkout line. they funneled everyone through one line and when several customers skipped the single line and went straight to the register, they were allowed to do so.....causing frustration to the other customers in the line. This was brought to the lead employees attention and she sarcastically dismissed my frustration. They should really signage up on how the checkout line works!

Erin Truax: I have been to this Target a few times because it is the most convenient for me (and parking is easy) but I always leave feeling very frustrated. There are constantly boxes of inventory waiting to be unpacked that are blocking the aisles and many shelves are often missing product. I have shopped at different times and on different days, but this seems to be on ongoing issue for this location. If you’re able, I recommend a different location.

J Por: Went in for some quick toys for my nieces and nephew. Turned in to their Loss Prevention racially profiling my partner, and followed us around the store the entire time for 60 dollars worth of merchandise, part of which, we had to find an employee to get. We initially went in to make a return, and unfortunately had the idea to shop the last bit of our list. Workers letting people (guy in a blue hoodie was wearing a red shirt so possible employee?) walk around without a mask even though DC has a mandate, and the stores inventory is always in the way. Should have been more concerned following him to give him a mask instead of two people who were in your store less than 25 minutes. Overheard an employee talking about managers asking the team to get tested because of a potential positive employee. Overall, the worst experience I’ve had by far. I’ve been a consistent customer for three years, but no more. This location is best avoided. Trust me.

livingmytruth 2: Joan has the best customer service ever. I came in this location with my 98 year old grandma and she made my grandma feel sooo good and proud and she really has a positive attitude. Thank you for making my grandmother’s shopping experience so pleasant . I will actually make this my home store now because of her pleasant demeanor

Aaron Blackmon: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go to a Walmart that is all red and has Target signs? Well wait no longer! This will fit the bill. The validated parking is a mess. The store is never stocked but simultaneously stocking everything at once and the lines are NEVER open. I only went there after learning my initial lesson months ago because it’s so close and I wanted to get a few things but even still it wasn’t worth it.

Chris Todd: The staff inside the store were friendly and helpful. However, the parking attendant was about as useless as a square wheel. I wanted to recharge my car. The sign in front of the chargers read "See attendant to activate". This dude was just sitting in his car. He refused to get up and wave whatever card he needed to wave to unlock the charging station. He didn't even acknowledge me other than saying "Uh". I tried activating the station with my SemaConnect app, but the station was locked out. I'm sure this Target is great, but I wouldn't come here in an EV because the dude who runs the chargers can't be bothered to get out of his car to do his job.

Chocolate Moose: what do users think?

Ann Morse: This eclectic shop never fails to inspire me for unique gifts. The staff go above and beyond to help. Thanks for the ideas today! Longtime customer, first time reviewer.

Neal Brenner: Awesome store with a wide variety of gifts, cards, chocolate and so much more. Cannot stop laughing while you are there as there are so many funny gifts. A must if you are in DC!

Avery Jones: Looking for a fun gift or hilarious card? Do you find New Yorker cartoons hilarious and political jokes always in season? This is the place! I always go there for the best cards for my friends and family (big selection), and they always have amazing little joke gifts, as well as creative and nice gift options for people that are hard to buy for.

Deb Kasunic: We've been shopping at the Chocolate Moose for almost 3 decades. Why are you closed? If it's because you're considered a "non-essential" business, then I need an explanation for Walmart and Target. We sincerely miss everything about this store, especially the hand-made fabulous chocolates!

Dianne Downs: If you like funny, quirky cards and cute unique gifts this is the place for you! The Chocolate Moose serves up deliciously sly humor along side some of the best Belgian chocolate you'll ever get your hands on outside of Belgium. Come in and enjoy shopping in the kind of store that's rare these days - a happiness store.

Arthur Zayden: I go here for my event planning needs, balloons, bulk candies and decorations. Great prices and the place is very organized, costumer service is amazing. Employees have a great product knowledge of all the items they carry. If I can give more than 4 I will give them a 10 star!!!

Brionne Griffin: This place is trying to do too much. While I'm sure there could possibly be a way to juggle a chocolate shop, a card section, a jewelry section, a travel section, and little trinkets all under one small roof in an elegant way, this place feels like a very fragmented experience. I feel like the only time I'd buy something here is if I was searching for a white elephant gift.

Sandy Carroll: Love this shop! It's been around for a long time and has everything you don't need. Quality fun stuff. Great for little gifts.

Melanie Kurimchak: I work nearby, so I've been to the Moose several times since I wrote my first, very clipped review. I do think this is still THE place to buy nick-nacks and silly greeting cards. If you need a white elephant gift, this is the place to come. However, I've been less than impressed with the attitude of the staff in my last couple visits. I went in and bought an Enviro-Sac bag a while back. The girl at the check out counter asked if I wanted a bag. I giggled, since the only thing I was buying was a bag. "Uh, no I don't want a bag for my bag..." She was not amused. Not sure how you can work in a place like this and not have a sense of humor, but apparently it's possible. On another trip, I asked about a particular Christmas tree ornament that was hanging on a display. I wanted to buy it and it was the last one in the store, so one of the employees went to the back to get the box for it. By the time she got back with the box, I had changed my mind and chosen a different ornament. How could I resist? This place will give anyone ADD. I apologized to her and said that I'd changed my mind and wanted to go with another one and she rolled her eyes as she all but slammed the ornament (in its box) back on to the display. Again, it's a fun place to come because of the product on the shelves, but don't expect stellar customer service (or even a smile) when you do.

Lara Ruth Ziobro: I love this store. It's perfect for finding politically incorrect or hysterical (depending on your leaning here) charged cards that are just about perfect and en pointe in the DC metro area. I love that you can get anything from Bush "dum gum" to make your own legwarmer kits at this store. This is one of my favorite places to hit for odds and ends to send to that person you want to know you're thinking of them for a special occasion but they seem to have everything under the sun they could possibly need. Chances are they won't need what you'll find, but they'll love it!
