Woodcraft of Washington DC Area: what do users think?

Symon Phoenyx: I'm a novice woodworker and this is the absolute best store in the area for my needs. Staff isways friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The store is always clean and presentable. They offer woodworking classes, and will even help suggest other ways to accomplish your task. They aren't cheap by any means, but they are easily appropriately priced for their products, it's just an expensive hobby. 😅

Michael A: I recently took up a little wood working and doing crafts and this place has all that you need to get started with your projects. I'm doing more woodturning now and the staff are all experts and able to set you up right for your project. The prices can be a little high on some items but they cater to quality in this shop. The machinery are all top notch equipment and you won't find the more economical choices here like you may at Harbor Freight or Lowe's. This shop has a smaller selection for those into resin casting compared to the Leesburg store but their online selection has anything you may be missing. They offer several selections of exotic wood blanks as well but some can get pricey but you are paying for quality so I don't mind the extra costs. If you're into wood turning, wood carving, making cutting boards and trays, or finish carpentry then you need to stop by and shop around. I'm a regular now and glad I found this place. It's the only place around for specialty wood working that I know of. You can buy everything you need to make the items shown.

Cara Nicole Stock: Really mind gentlemen here! Came in with zero knowledge starting a personal repurposing project and I was helped gently by the two guys who were working (I wish I got their names). Will definitely return for any wood making projects I take on in the future!

Chopped Champ: This store is a smaller than other locations, but carries a very good supply of tools (power and hand) and sundries for all your woodworking needs. Staff was very courteous and helpful and the store was spotless. They have a nice selection of milled lumber both domestic and exotic, but prices were a bit high in comparison to what I'm accustomed to as I usually purchase rough and do the milling myself. Store had tons of finishing materials in stock from dyes to topcoats. Parking is abundant as the store is located in a strip mall. This is a very good store for any woodworker from novice to professional with a range of products to help you start and complete your projects.

Leonid Matvyeyev: So there I was in this store, I needed nothing and yet many $ later I walked out thinking back if I needed any more. I bought some stuff that I did not need but wanted, a good selection of tools and the staff was very helpful. I have not been to many woodcraft and that other Woodworking store but they all seem as good as the others.

Vince Charming: Knowledgeable staff, plenty of class options, exotic wood, and hardware for DIYers like me! Similar to a Rockler, in a good way.

Ed Skinner: Changed a backordered item, and picked up three pen kits for Summer birthday presents. Amazing inventory! Great service!

Brad Moffett: Store has an excellent selection of woodworking tools, equipment and supplies. Lots of specialty tools as well for tiring, routing, jigs, and clamps. Prices are a bit higher than at the big box stores, but they have items the dedicated woodworker can't find there. I especially like their collection of vaneers. Plus, the staff there are always very knowledgeable. A trait you definitely won't find in the big box stores on a consistent basis.

Stacey F.: Very helpful staff and really love ability to use advanced tools for workshop fee and have an experienced person to help - really helped!! Note that most small supplies are a bit more expensive than Home Depot basics, but I suspect probably higher quality or more durable than the big box store. If you are able to, definitely support these guys!

Aida Dedajic, CAE: Amazing class! We did the date night and built a beautiful box. Our instructor, Nate Blodgett, was detail oriented, technical, patient, explained all the tools. It was so refreshing. We loved the experience and building something with our hands.
Response: Thanks for the feedback. We are extremely pleased that you enjoyed the class. Thx again..Mike

Godet Woodworking: what do users think?

Jon Rudick: Adam is an amazing local artist and woodworker who designed and produced a stunning custom mid-century modern desk with cherry wood for my home. He's very friendly and took the time to meet with me on several occasions to ensure we were on the same page through the process, and provided me with his expertise on what would best meet my needs/wants. His quality, attention to detail, and love for his craft are evident and I love what he created for me! I highly recommend Adam, will be working with him again, and will continue to recommend him to friends and clients!
Response: Thanks so much Jon! Looking forward to working with you again soon!

Jodi Kostelnik: Adam did such a great job making some furniture for my retail shop. He created custom pieces that worked for my exact needs for the space (moveable card wall + front nesting tables with uneven legs due to a front step by the window). The quality of his work was impeccable and he was very easy to work with, not to mention a quick turnaround when needed.
Response: Thanks so much Jodi! It is always fun working with you!

Christy P: Adam Godet is a true craftsman who takes pride in his woodworking. I contacted him when I was looking to update my TV console but was having a hard time finding anything which fit the small space well and suited my style. Adam was very easy to work with and created a quality, handcrafted piece of furniture I will treasure for a long time. I believe it is even safe to say Ron Swanson would approve (my way of saying I highly recommend this woodworker)!
Response: thanks so much, Christy! I'm glad we got to work together on this project and that it resulted in a tour of your home art gallery!

Stacey Price: Adam has been creating custom display pieces for my business for the last 2 years. His attention to detail, work ethic and skill go unmatched. He always delivers early and often under budget. I could not recommend him more.
Response: Thank you for the support Stacey! So proud to be a part of the magic you're creating!

Eben Kaplan: Adam has made several pieces for my home. He’s a pleasure to work with. His attention to detail and love for his craft shine through in every piece.
Response: Thanks Eben! Looking forward to the upcoming projects

Pascal's Woodworking: what do users think?

Juliette B.: Pascal repaired damage done to our wood bed frame during a move. He was prompt, professional and communicative and his work was so good you couldn’t even see where the wood had been damaged. We were so happy with the work that we kept his info and reached back out when we wanted to restore an old coffee table that really needed some tlc. Again Pascal provided clear communication about our options and even gave me the opportunity to come out to the shop to review finish colors in person. He was very patient with my silly questions and we are delighted with the finished product. He is a true craftsman and I would highly recommend him.

Elissa Redmiles: Pascal was absolutely amazing. He came to our house to fix an issue with a cabinet door we’d been dealing with for nearly a year. He instantly recognized the issue and quickly and generously fixed it.

Jody Brookover: Pascal repaired a century old all wood dining room chair that had split at a glued joint. He was perfectly on time and the repair looked better than I had originally hoped.

Woodcraft of Maryland: what do users think?

Jon Sribnick: WoodCraft was highly recommended by a serious DIY neighbor. Throughout our experience we found the staff exceedingly knowledgeable and helpful. We were in search of a natural edge wood slab for a bar top for a kitchen remodel. The staff took the time to work with us through the different options of wood, slab style and what the final outcome would look like. In particular Tosin went above and beyond to assist us in the process. We felt that he cared about our project and worked to guide us to options that matched our needs. The level of customer service he provided deserves 10 stars especially considering the challenges presented by the Covid 19 pandemic. Matt was very helpful in the introductory stages of the process. Ralph's knowledge and detailed instructions addressed the next steps in the preparation of the wood and ensured we had the correct tools and supplies. His shared experience was priceless, his enthusiasm was sincere and his wisdom was sublime. I have not considered taking a wood working class until I witnessed the passion Ralph exhibited in guiding me through this project. The whole team worked very hard to delve into their inventory to find exactly what we are looking for. The gentleman working in the warehouse prepared the slab with great skill and efficiency. We purchased a beautiful piece of walnut as you can see below. This piece will be a treasured part of our home and we have Woodcraft in Rockville to thank for it every step of the way. When you think of wood, you should think of them. September Update. Pictures of the final installation of slab. It worked out perfectly and looks great
Response: Thank you Jon for your kind words of recognition. Your patience and desire to create something special helped feed our enthusiasm.

Stephan Willis: Took the intro to lathe class with Matt. Had a great time, learned lots. The class was very informative but still had a light-hearted atmosphere.Would highly recommend.
Response: Thank you Stephan! We appreciate you coming in and taking the class as well as your nice review. Please come back!

Arjan P: Both Chris and Amy took all the time in the world to recommend options for a domino joiner and vacuum hoses. From cheaper options to more expensive. Due to Covid-19 it was curb side pickup. I love this store even though I have only been in there twice. They also showed great appreciation for my business!
Response: Thanks for taking the time to give us a shout-out Arjan. We try hard to please and your words make our efforts worthwhile!

Katelyn Bittleman: I've had good and very bad experiences shopping here. They have a wonderful selection of wood slabs and are willing to work with you to find a particular piece if you don't need it right away. Their staff is very knowledgeable about their products and love to talk about the projects you are working on. My most recent experience however was extremely poor. I had two oak newel posts I needed help cutting since I didn't have the right tools and did not want to purchase a large band saw for only 2 cuts, so I emailed the wood shop with my request and provided pictures and measurements. I spoke with Chris and someone else who assured me they could make the cuts at a reasonable cost, just to call ahead before I came it. When I arrived at the shop, I had to wait a little bit, which was understandable based on the amount of customers in the store, but when I started to work with Chris to have my cuts made, it was like he didn't even read my email or have any idea how to make the cuts. We discussed possible solutions, but Chris didn't seem to listen to my opinion at all and after 30 minutes asked how much I was willing to pay for this service. I said about $50 and was pretty much laughed at for suggesting such a low price. I was told he wouldn't help me, rolled my pieces out of the shop and walked away without another word. I was taken aback at how condescending he was and how little my input mattered. I was able to make the cuts on my own with some help from friends and some creative dado cuts, but it took much longer than it would have if I had a larger saw. In the end, I will probably still shop here, but I will NEVER frequent the woodshop again or sign up for classes with Chris.
Response: Katelyn, You obviously had an experience at our store that did not measure up to either of our expectations. I do appreciate your acknowledgement that we offer a robust line of woodworking products and that in general our knowledgeable staff are truly committed to helping our patrons find solutions to their needs, even if it means sending them to another provider. With regard to your specific experience, I did speak with Chris about the event. While he spent the time trying to figure out how to safely and accurately make finished cuts on the two 5”x 5” newel post, you also invested considerable time and effort only to leave frustrated and understandably, upset with the interchange. He obviously misread the scope of work and allotted insufficient time for the task which resulted in mutual frustration. For your having to bear the brunt of that, I apologize. I have no doubt that we could have done a better job of reviewing the project in advance and communicating the constraints we were experiencing that day before you came over. We consistently get high marks from our customers, but in your case, we fell short of the mark. I really do appreciate the time and effort you expended to let us know about the situation which I will discuss with all of our staff to improve the experience we deliver to all of our customers. Please feel free to call me directly if you would care to discuss the matter in person. Thank you. Ralph

rodrigo calderon: Great stock and the staff are experts in the field. Great experience buying here!
Response: Thanks so much for your kind words, Rodrigo! We try hard to set ourselves apart and we appreciate you noticing! <3

Mila Antova: I had a wonderful experience taking a class there! The instructor was very knowledgable and patient. I made a beautiful charcuterie board and a bread knife - a perfect gift for my friend's new home!
Response: Thank you kindly for your review Mila! Hearing of your experience makes our day! We hope that your friend loves it and please come see us again!

Mike Mikus: I am a local contractor and have been doing business at Woodcraft Rockville for many years. The level of customer service and product knowledge is second to none. Several times I have consulted the staff regarding various projects and have always received great advice. I have also required various tool repairs. Ralph ,Matt and Chris have always gone over and above in their efforts to get me up and running again ALWAYS. It is very refreshing to to do business with people who make you feel valued as a customer and also a friend. Being in the construction industry I deal with many other suppliers but always choose Woodcraft first. My Daughter, much to my delight, wanted to build a table for her new place as a father daughter project. She and I were given some great ideas and material/hardware to choose from after leaving she said "What a Great place they were so helpful".
Response: Mike, Thank you for you sharing your experience with us and our customers. We have made family inclusion one of our primary objectives. Woodworking is often viewed as a solitary endeavor but when we talk to customers like you, they tell us about how they developed their interest in woodworking from a family member and the personal bond that it created. We hope that we are helping to grow our community of woodworkers by encourages family projects through our education program which recently added Kid's Camp and Teen Woodworking classes. Thanks again for your comments.

isgp scienceforglobalpolicy: This a great store. I have purchased two pieces of expensive equipment from then and couldn't be happier. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful an friendly. I have not bought wood from them but they do have good looking stock.
Response: Thanks for you positive feedback. It really helps us to learn what our customers need to provide a solution to their woodworking projects and guides our internal training, demonstration and education offerings.

Switch Teech: The selection was exactly what I've come to expect from this top of the line woodworking store. & after I was able to get past one of the salesman's own judgemental issues the help came back up to par. Like I said though, it was only one guy. The store still rocks.
Response: Hi Andrew, so sorry that you were made to feel uncomfortable in our store. That's exactly what we don't want. If you have time to talk, we'd like to hear more about your experience and the staff involved so as to remedy the issue before it occurs again with you or another patron. Feel free to call and speak with either Chris, Amy or Ralph. Thanks for your continued support. We will strive to do better.

maikel barrosocruz: The shop looked really nice, first time over and would have loved to look around some more. Upon walking in I was barely greeted, I asked for the SawStops and after a few seconds of giving me directions to the show room, one of the employees finally decided to take me there and show it to me. We spent a few minutes playing with it, but I had already made my mind to buy it. All this time no one told me that there was none in stock at their store, of course no willing to sell the floor model either. What’s the point of showing me a model if I can’t buy one and the shipping takes over a month to the store. Long story short was a waste of a trip, to see some employees with no desire to talk to me and tell me I was better of ordering online for an internet xtra $100. I really like the store, and maybe I didn’t look like a savvy wood worker or who knows, but the costumer service was definitely lacking. If you are in the market for saw stop, do yourself a favor and order online, save the gas and definitely the trip.
Response: Maikel, Thanks for coming in. We apologize for not having the model of SawStop in stock at the time of your visit with us. All of the power tool vendors we represent currently have very long back order time periods. (anywhere from 7-30 weeks) Our Team was able to determine that our Corp. warehouse had several in stock at the time of your visit and encouraged you and your team to buy it through them asap. Not because we didn't want your business, just simply to attempt to help you locate one as soon as possible. Our Team did confirm when our next shipment would be arriving, but understandably it was longer than you could wait to purchase one from us. We hope you choose to shop with us again when possible. It is best right now to call into our store to check the timing/availability of any power tools you are interested in. (301.984.9033) Thanks. Matt

GoodWood: what do users think?

Kathy Carnevale: We had such a great experience with Good Wood. We had to bring our table up to Northern Virginia and they were so careful to pack and protect our items. The quality of the table and chairs is amazing and the prices can't be beat!

Olivia K: Quick service, unique atmosphere, reliable stock of small gifts, and hit-or-miss selection of art and furniture! I agree with some reviewers that the staff seemed uppety and perhaps too good to welcome customers.

Joyce Sampson: The stock and the ambiance deserve five stars. My first visit, I was mesmerized. It was wonderland. When I left the shop, in my excitement, I called back and purchased a piece that I had fallen in love with over the phone. Later I realized that it was just not right for the intended space in my home. So I called and asked if they could keep the piece (which was still in the store) and offer me an if in-store credit. The guy who sold to me apologized and said returns/refunds were not policy. I asked him if he might call the shop owner but he wouldn't budge. While I do understand the policy, I didnt care for his attitude when he said, "You bought it, now it's all yours." I've shopped many antique stores and MOST will try to accommodate you in some way. You won't get the extra pickle at GoodWood.

Yarden Golan: I rarely give reviews. But GoodWood is hands down the best vintage furniture store in the area. Above their great items, they have the most amazing costumer service iv’e encountered. They will go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. Highly recommended!

Natalie: While the selection is solidly 4+ star, the customer service is anything but. I concur with the reviewer who said the staff barely acknowledged their existence. Once the staff had deigned to answer my question, the two ladies behind the counter gave me that once-over, up-and-down glance before sneering and going back to talking to each other. I’m just… speechless. On principle, I won’t give my money to adults who behave like high school “mean girls.” It’s a shame, since I used to visit this store 10 years ago when I first moved to DC and looked forward to one day having my own rowhouse to furnish. Now that I do, I won’t be shopping here.

Kye Lippold: Excellent selection, helpful staff, and good delivery policies.

Emma Ruehl: GoodWood is chock-full of special, high-quality vintage and vintage-modern pieces. The store is warm, bright, expertly curated, and the associates are super friendly. They also get a fresh batch of items weekly on Thursday, so you're sure to find a gem whenever you visit.

Caroline Barna: I LOVE this shop. Always such an amazing mix of beautiful furniture and clothing. And the prices are so affordable for how unique and special the items are. I hope you guys reopen soon! I’ll be there (in a mask)!

David Dreyer: One of the best stores of any kind in Washington. Staff takes a close interest in what customers want. If you don't see what you want, they will survey their sources and find items that work for you. That said, it's very hard to visit Good Wood without seeing a lot of furniture, tabletop, or other items that you'd want to ride home with you. Last, there is an appealing, integrated aesthetic to the place that makes it a pretty nice and welcoming place to visit. 5 stars earned.

Ricky Ocampo: Love the items that they carry here, but I’ve found the staff to be rather unfriendly. I’ve stopped by a few times over the last few weeks and not once has an employee said “hi” to me or acknowledged my existence.

This shop has a much larger selection for those into resin casting compared to the Alexandria shop. They offer several selections of exotic wood blanks as well but some can get pricey but you are paying for quality so I don't mind the extra costs. Response: Michael We are glad you are enjoying our store. We strive to provide our customers with knowledge, experience, and the best tools for their project. We will never sell or suggest a tool we don't believe in. We are there to help and offer advise when needed. We also offer classes to help broaden your woodworking skills. I hope you will try them because I'm sure you will enjoy the class. Woodcraft of Leesburg

john hitchcock: Good source for exotic wood and all the woodworking tools the home centers refuse to carry. Knowledgeable staff with classes available for beginners and couples.
Response: We are glad you are enjoying our store. Our staff enjoy the feed back.

Melissa: Nice man, but the class was really things I could get from the internet. He was thorough in explaining types of wood, and finishes. I sat too long to enjoy the beginner class in woodwork. Disappointed since they said to wear old clothing and we would be handling things. That is misleading, since most of the class is reading through a list of do's and don'ts with wood.
Response: Melissa I'm sorry hear about your experience with the class. Which class did you take? We try to provide as much information as possible but sometimes lose track of time.

George Garsson: I normally love going to Woodcraft. I ordered a belt sander from the Leesburg, VA store 8 days ago. The person who took my order was wonderful to work with. I was told the order should be in within 8 days. With today being the 8th day and not hearing from the store, I called to inquire. I spoke with Barbara and from the beginning wasn't happy. I started by asking if she would like my name and order number and was told no. She asked what I ordered and when I told her she said "well, that's not here, the distribution center is closed". It wasn't the message that bothered me, more so it was the tone and the abruptness. The complete conversation, as it seemed to me, was one where I felt Woodcraft (Barbara) didn't really feel as though she wanted to be on the phone.

i: I see there are already a few negative reviews regarding the service here. I visited the store for the first time the other day and wasn't greeted at the door, even though I was the only one in the store and two or three folks standing and chatting at the registers. I walked around for a bit looking for a Festool product, but never was I asked if I needed help. Still, no other customers there. But when a couple walked in and was not only greeted but also asked if they needed help to let them know as well as given information about a flyer at the door and to sign up on email, I was totally baffled. The sincerity and pleasantry was like I was in a different store. Not sure if it matters (hope not), but I'm not white and this couple was and so were the three clerks. May have been some implicit bias going on here (benefit of the doubt). When I was leaving, I heard a 'have a good night'. Wow! I turned and said "actually, I'd like to know about...". I ended up almost forcing them to show me the product, which they weren't even that familiar with. Not the features, nor the pricing. Needless to say this was my first and last visit. I can get everything they have online at same or cheaper prices. Thanks!

Robert Ray: First off let me say that I have spent a huge amount of money at Leesburg Woodcraft in the past year. And I mean huge. I am Not a customer that complains all the time or over spilled milk but I had a phone experience that was really upsetting. Most of the people at this store are remarkable people which is why I give them almost all my business but one of the staff has proven time and time again to conduct themselves in a very unprofessional manner. When I had called and asked if a sale item was in stock it was replied that he didn't see one on the shelf but an order had come in and it may be there. When I asked if I could stop by while I was in town in an hour or so he replied, "Sure, we could drop what we're doing and go through the boxes to get you one." The tone was very condescending. This is not the first time this person has been rude to me. If he reads this he will know who I am talking about and I am sure if confronted about this he will deny it. If you go there, see Matt or Wayne or one of the other guys. I would rather buy online and pay shipping than be treated like this. I don't care about money,I have way more than I need so shipping is peanuts to me.

Ted Phillips: Great store for Woodworkers. This is not a corporate store - this is a locally owned and operated franchise. The Springfield and Leesburg stores are owned by the same family. Great selection of tools, wood, supplies and hardware. If you catch the frequent sales, the price of large woodworking tools (e.g., bandsaws, table saws, lathes, drill presses) is competitive with almost any online retailer - you don't have to pay huge shipping charges if you pick it up locally. Highly recommended.

Berzelius Paragot: So you can get things cheaper online, but if you wanted to get things online, you would not be in a woodworking shop. The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable. They can help you get what you need, and not what you don't. I got the best doweling jig I have ever seen here, and they showed me some great tricks how to use it.

Matt G.: This place is awesome! I've been woodworking for years and always enjoy speaking with the staff. They are knowledgeable and friendly. Store is clean and well organized. Tip: good prices on baltic birch plywood.

richard browning: Very poor customer service. If you are looking for anything other than hobby nick-nack stuff the store in Harrisburg Pa is by far better. The first thing I wanted they did not have. As I was going to ask him to unlock a cabinet because I was going to by a set of stanley 750s he walked away and sat down. I asked for a product that the sister stores caty and the guy said well we dont havem' and walked off. Never will go here again.

R-Home Furniture Store for live edge wood slabs furniture: what do users think?

Quang Nguyen: Beautiful products. Excellent workmanship. Perfectly fits for your casual or formal dinning rooms. You can also order custom made tables, shelves, bars ... all uniquely created to your tastes. Sometimes, I just come and hang around to touch the beautiful wood!!! Love the place and Nicho has excellent tastes in furniture designs.

Jonny Lobeck: We can't say enough about not only the quality of the products (we purchased a coffee table, two end tables, and a writing desk top), but also the friendly customer service of Niko. And, you can't beat the reasonable price points. This truly is a local business you want to support. Thanks, Niko!

Justin H: Fantastic place for custom wood furniture. Massive warehouse full of different size/shape/grain planks to choose your custom to able from. We wanted something solid wood that would last forever and were so happy we found this place. See the pictures for before and finished product. They sealed the table and had numerous leg styles to pick from. We were even able to get a side table from the same slab. Great family business where customer service is their first priority. Highly recommend you check them out!

Angie Rhinehart: We came upon this store when we were out looking for new bedroom furniture. While we didn’t find that, we did find so much more! Don’t let the outside deter you, a treasure trove awaits you inside. They carry such unique and reasonably priced pieces. Plan to spend a good bit of time because there is so much to see that it takes several times around the warehouse to take it all in. The best part of this place is the customer service. Furniture shopping can feel like being fed to the wolves, but not here with Nico. He was present to offer help but not in your face and he was incredibly friendly. We found so many things we want for our home but picked up a few to start and are going back for more soon. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Robert Kagan: This is a truly wonderful business. I have purchased two beautiful items from them: a live edge desk and a round reclaimed teak kitchen table. They both give me happiness every day. The workmanship is outstanding. More than anything, I appreciate the wonderful friendly service. We needed the kitchen table in a hurry. They got it done. I needed to drive it down to the Outer Banks. They wrapped it up and tied it down securely on my car, even though they didn't have to. Incredibly thoughtful. what a fabulous store. Thank you!

Folashade Osibanjo-Quinn: Great furniture store with superb customer service. The owner was incredibly nice. My husband and I visited last week to pick up a small dining set and we were pleased with the craftsmanship and options. We will definitely return. Highly recommended for those looking for quality pieces.

Laura Ruth: R-Home sells the most amazing furniture. It’s a hidden gem! We bought a large dining table and 10 chairs earlier this year and couldn’t be happier with the final product. Everyone who sees our house immediately notices the table. It’s not the cheapest but it’s solidly made, family-owned, and unique!! We just ordered a coffee table because we can’t get enough of their beautiful furniture! Highly, highly recommend.

Joey Marshall: Very friendly staff, excellent craftsmanship and many styles of furniture to choose from. Everything is 100% solid wood. These folks have a manufacturing source in Indonesia I believe so the prices are reasonable and the quality is outstanding. It's a family run shop & local business producing a great quality product at an affordable (for the quality) price point.

Kenny S: I was surprised at this furniture store it is outstanding, we purchased our dining room table and other small accessory pieces here. The selections are amazing and customer service is great! Stop by their location and you won't be dissapointed! I will definitely be back for other things.

Chandra Khoe: This store is a National Treasure. The wood product is so great and awesome. We never see many stores like this in the United States. The quality of wood products, the products variation, the customer services are wonderful. Surely, we will buy more furniture again from this store.

Washington Woodworkers Guild: what do users think?

Jessica Darby: Goodwin House is a happy, safe community providing top notch care to my grandparents. The team takes their jobs seriously and my grandmother and grandfather are happy and very well cared for. As a frequent visitor, everyone I interact with is cheerful and greets me with a smile. The facilities are beautiful and the living quarters, both apartments for independent living and second floor nursing wing rooms, are worthy of being called home.

Matt McMahon: It’s always good to support nonprofits

Ted Phillips: The Washington Woodworkers Guild meets here for its monthly meeting the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm. Guests welcome!

Cherie- MP Mosher: Its ok only if you know how to work on woods like handyman

Jeff Sisk: What a great place to learn and build out of wood.

Ferdi: Nice place spent your time

Jared Wal: Very cool to visit

R-Home Furniture Store for live edge wood slabs furniture: what do users think?

Jon La Marr: I would give R-Home Furniture 100 stars if I could. An absolutely amazing place to get custom, hand-made, and beautiful furniture at great prices. We've had endless problems with the "brand name" furniture places, but you will not have any problems going here. We hand picked our pieces and had them custom made/delivered in under a week! R-Home Furniture is family-run from creation to delivery. Every interaction we've had with them has been a breeze. We will definitely be back to get more soon!

M M King: The R-Home Furniture team is amazing! From selection of the wood to designing the table, bench seating, and end table, the service and support were first class! The finished products were great!

Jessica Kropf: This is a good store to visit if you like solid wood furniture. They have some items available to carry away same day, and offer custom orders as well. They also have a lot of large wood slabs on hand to select and custom finish for live edge tables. The location at 2936-B Prosperity Ave. is scheduled to close and consolidate with the Alexandria location (possibly by July 2022?). They have live edge wood slabs there still, along with rustic reclaimed cabinets and furniture, tansu style chests, and tables and chairs. Items are discounted at that location currently until the move, or visit the main location in Alexandria for a wider selection of furniture and decorative items.

Kaitlin Beach: This is truly a hidden gem. We were looking for a new table and found R-Home. The service was excellent, helpful but not at all pushy. I could not believe the amazing selection of quality, handmade wood pieces, including reclaimed and live-edge wood slabs. Prices are super reasonable for the excellent quality, especially as it's right in the DC area. We didn't see anything else close to this selection and price for the quality. We came away with a dining table made of reclaimed oak that will last us for the long haul. Delivery was great. We cannot stop raving about this purchase!

John Crumbley: My wife and I have purchased several items from Niko. Stools, chairs, patio furniture, and other knick/knacks. You name it, they have it. He and his family are lovely, fair, and produce quality furniture. We always consider R-Home first whenever we are in the market for a new furniture item. Strongly recommended...

Arthur Lord: Great quality, family-owned business, with even better customer service. We were very happy with the dining room table and chairs that we bought. After we used the table daily for a year, we noticed the wood started to separate at one end-- we contacted the owner (Bram) and he happily fixed the table, free of charge. Even gave us a loaner for the days it was in their shop. They picked it up and dropped it off around our schedule. It looks and works great now. Talk about standing behind your products. Would definitely shop here again.

Cory C: The storefront might seem small at first glance, but inside is a huge warehouse of unique furniture from around the world. I was blown away by size inside the store and the amount of furniture in it. The pieces in the store are mix of contemporary and classic pieces of beautiful, solid hardwood and they also offer accents and accessories. While shopping, the staff was kind, friendly, and helpful. While I was browsing, they even offered to customize pieces of furniture to fit into any sized spaces-- (which was great for furnishing my apartment!). The tables, chairs, and media console that I got all look simple and beautiful. Next time I'm in Virginia, I'll definitely be stopping here again. Potterybarn pieces of furniture without the prices. Would recommend.

Chandra Khoe: This store is a National Treasure. The wood product is so great and awesome. We never see many stores like this in the United States. The quality of wood products, the products variation, the customer services are wonderful. Surely, we will buy more furniture again from this store.

JP Murphy: After looking at all the usual places for outdoor furniture we found R-Home. We really liked what we found in the store and it was hard to decide what table and chairs to purchase for our new deck. We decided on a teak table and chairs that we are very happy with and look great! Bram was wonderful and delivered exactly on time and we are very pleased with the selection, price and service. We will likely be back!

Marc and Ann Bickoff: The desk we ordered arrived on time. It is exactly what we wanted. This small family owned company is completely professional. We will most definitely use them when shopping for future furniture needs. R-Home Furniture carries different and unusual items. What a welcome change from the standard furniture store fare!

Woodcraft of Pittsburgh: what do users think?

James Stuart: Place was nice and staff where good, but prices are ridiculous. I would say at least 10-15 % higher than Rockler. I would shop there again but there needs to be more of a price reduction for me to buy my wood turning blanks there

Jeremy Pooler: Always very welcome and helpful with any questions. Call ahead if you are traveling to make sure that they have what you want. They are still getting walnut slats that work great for trim and other things. I used them to make cover a plywood dog crate

Tony Tatano: Woodcraft is an awesome store with a great staff. After I left the store and went home, I had thought of questions I forgot to ask as I was mesmerized by the beautiful tools and supplies. I immediately picked up the phone and called back to the store to ask the questions I remembered once I was in my shop and reminded of all the things I had gone to the store to figure out. The staff generously answered all of my questions. I intend to purchase a nova chuck for my lathe, but need to do a little adapting to make it work. The young lady I spoke with seemed very knowledgeable about my issues, which was great cause I'm not sure I was doing a very good job of explaining my issues. I will most definitely go there to purchase my tools...

Lou Hamill: The staff were very friendly. To me it appears they have everything under the sun for woodworking. I do know they had the band saw blades I needed and couldn't find anywhere else. I look forward to visiting them again. PS, I couldn't help buying couple other things while I was there.

Thomas Fialkovich (TEFTOM): Fantastic selection for the hobbyist and serious woodworker alike. Friendly, efficient and knowledgable staff. A true gem of a store.

Ron McDowell: This place is a woodworkers dream! They have any tool any species of wood and they can cut it to size! Me and my wife were here last month to pick out some walnut for a cutting board. It turned out perfectly! Thank you woodcraft!

George Jaber: Ryan, manager extraordinary, spent quality time with me, answering my questions about specific CNC operations. He was very helpful. Leslie was very helpful with paint color questions and check out service. Store was clean, clearance wood bins were full of lovely hardwood choices. Can't wait to shape their future!!

Jay Hilscher: Fun store to shop around and wonder. Very friendly staff. Can't wait to return for their anniversary event and possibly sign up for some classes.

Brad Herr: Woodcraft holds not only a good deal of crafting supplies but also a generous selection of woods in many shapes, colors, cuts, sizes, and otherwise. Indeed, Woodcraft has woods. Woodcraft has crafts. What more could you ask of any institution with such an accurately descriptive name? Atop the crafted wooden cake? Every employee I met was friendly and cheery. That's a lot to ask for in the dead of February. I did not purchase anything but I will be returning. For the woods, for the crafts, but mostly for the people.

Rick Hamilton: Very complete line of woodworking supplies an tools, with varying price and quality levels from which to choose. Staff personnel are quite knowledgeable and helpful, and they know their inventory. Parking is convenient. My only criticism is that I believe the wood prices are high.

Frager's Hardware: what do users think?

Fred Gamble Jr: I bought the XL Big Green Egg display model and was handled by Hannah who was so nice and courteous to me! She not only handled my transaction with a smile, but ensured that my delivery would be seamless. Kyle and Mateo came to my home and were two of the nicest delivery professionals I ever encountered. Its so nice to have a local hardware store which I can trust and do business. Frager's Ace Hardware has earned my business and they will earn yours too.
Response: What a wonderful review Fred! Thank you for trusting us with your purchase. So glad to hear such wonderful things about our employees- we'll be share these comments along to our team. Happy holidays to you!

Audrey Lester: Blind Customer: I increased shopping here during pandemic, as it’s in my community. On nearly all visits, I’m greeted at front door by a very knowledgeable staff member. I love how they know where every item is specifically located - like really! Upon entry, you’re on main isle. To your left are short isles leading to registers. Staff always escort me through store or to elevator where I’m met by another team member on lower level. Ayesha, General Manager, allows items to be opened for me when possible so I can feel item. I especially love their text message lime where consumers can ask questions before visiting store. Great Team!
Response: It's so great to hear from you Audrey, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're so glad our staff provide exceptional customer service that makes shopping a pleasure. Thank you for being a customer- we look forward to your next visit!

Amy Chiou: The people here are so nice and helpful. They always know where to find things in the store. It's a classic hardware store with the added bonus of fun and quirky household goods and gifts.
Response: We love quirk! Thanks for shopping with us over the big boxes, we are glad to have customers like you who shop and support local.

Michael uthe: The store with more. Walked in and thought was small. But as I got farther in it opened up to huge room with a downstairs and outdoor garden section. Truly awesome and amazing staff.
Response: Hi Michael! Thanks so much for the kind words and for shopping local! We love that you had such a great experience! Our team looks forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Hope Greenleaf: Great shop with a large selection of plants, gifts, household items, and hardware. Friendly helpful staff!
Response: Thanks for choosing Frager's Ace Hardware and for leaving such a great review, Hope! It's good to know that we were able to provide you with a great selection and the highest level of service. We look forward to your next visit!

Stephanie Sneary: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The store often carries products you can’t find at larger stores— for instance I recently had need for a shorter length of 14/2 electrical wire that I found here.
Response: We love to hear that we can outsource our competition! Thanks for shopping and supporting Frager's.

koura Gibson: Disappointed to be rudely treated for “walking into store” before opening. The door was wide opened and I entered only to be charged aggressively by the 3 attending employees, shouting for me to exit. I had to calm them down of their excitement to reprimand me for entering the store. There was no indication that the store was not opened. No hours were posted ether. Then the older guy rudely and aggressively closed the door as I exited. He then snarkly stated “I guess!” When informing him that 8:00 was in 14 minutes. It was really disappointing to have to endure such rudeness in the morning.

Al Boyd: Customer service, was excellent. But I didn't appreciate being mistaken for a thief. I had the receipt was in my bag. I am a retired police officer, I don't need too steal anything from anyone.
Response: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We hope you'll shop local with us again soon!

Kristin Roesch: William was so helpful in matching a specific furniture screw I needed for a Murphy bed. He answered all of my novice questions and was so funny and kind. He also helped with copying a house key.
Response: Thank you Kristin! William has been with us a long time, we're glad to have him on our team! We appreciate your business, hope you'll shop with us again soon.

Nathan Deunk: Very convenient location, and they've really improved the store since they moved locations. Unfortunately, Fragers employees and contractors consistently endanger the residents of the surrounding community by illegally parking on both 11th SE and Pennsylvania SE. I can't support a store that cares so little for their neighbors, especially when those neighbors are their customers.
