Georgetown Frame Shoppe: what do users think?

Sean Ringeling: I would definitely recommend Georgetown Frame Shoppe! In my search for a particular print I got in contact with Peter from the gallery. He was friendly and really helpful. Peter and his team found the print I was looking for and framed it for me. They took good care of my art piece and responded very quickly whenever I had any questions.

William Chang: I have purchased multiple prints from the georgetown frame shoppe. Peter, Jon, Kristina, Andrew, and the rest of the crew are stellar at what they do.

Tom Reynolds: I’ve had several interactions with Peter and his team over the years – both buying and selling/consigning. They are always extremely responsive, professional, and fair. They take exceptional care in packaging and shipping the artwork. What more could you ask for? Their collection of animation art is impressive and continues to grow. I would highly recommend them and hope to someday visit the gallery.

Charlie chancey: Andrew of the frame shop cant even make a decision on how to take care of a simple shipping problem i would not trust this shop

Daniel Vander Ley: Fast FedEx delivery. Pristine lithographs, framing and smudge free glass. They clearly treat their work with care and detail. Thank you Jon and GFS team!

warhol200: I have dealt with Peter at Georgetown frame for years. He is honest and knowledgeable. He is always considerate and will advise you correctly. Great place to pick up quality investment art, especially Andy Warhol screenprints. His prices are very fair.

Alec Sprouffske: Art installer failed to follow directions from designer/ elevations given. Some of the art was installed in the wrong location and the only way I was told Georgetown would fix it was to charge another install fee. I tried working out a deal through email and the fellow I was emailing with stopped responding all together. The other pieces that were part of this job were installed in the proper location per the elevation given. Thank you.
Response: Just seeing this review now. I read through the string of emails and discussed with the installer who is still working here. Tahmina showed Andrew where everything was to be installed and signed off on it. Unfortunately it was a 2 hour drive back to Manassas, VA and we could not agree to the extra charge to return to the site. If we make a mistake we own up to . We will always return at no extra charge. That is why we have been in business since 1989.

Dan Trachtman: I needed some magazine covers framed. They were easy to work with, fair in pricing, and good at keeping in touch to let me know when things would be ready. Very smooth process, very professional operation.

Nolan Orgel: I used to take prints, lithos and other framable artwork here on a regular basis back in the 80s and 90s. Always returned home with great new piece for the wall.

David Green: Great art and print gallery. Great framing.

Allen Custom Frame - Appointments strongly recommended: what do users think?

mark joseph: ALLEN CUSTOM FRAME IS THE BEST IN FRAMER IN MD/DC/VA. I have had Allen Custom Frame do 12-15 high end paintings, vintage photographs, and antique woodblocks for me. They are by far the best framer in the area. Harry Biscarr, the owner is excellent and provides great service and value. I give them my highest recommendation !
Response: Mark, we want folks to get the best service while receiving quality work as well. We know how important it is to preserve and display beautiful artwork, so you can count on us to get the job done right. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do for you. -Allen Custom Frame Team

Raphael Tisch: I have been coming to Alan Custom Frame since 2010, have had 9/10 pieces framed, and have never been disappointed. They have some of the best customer service and really work with you to make your piece shine. They guarantee their work, so if something doesn't look right, they'll make it right. I've never had to take them up on this perk, but I'm glad I have it. Having been to a number of different framing shops in the area, with groupons or living social deals, I have never found a better shop. If you value your art, this is the place to come to make your art, art.
Response: Raphael, thanks so much for the supportive feedback! We're thrilled to hear that you trust us with all of your framing jobs. And you have given us the best compliment by bringing your friends in. We are honored to be given that kind of trust. We look forward to gaining the respect of those you recommend. -Allen Custom Frame Team

Anirban Ghosh: Upon the recommendation of a friend, I checked out Allen Custom Frame for a very important piece - a wedding gift for my bride! From the start, I could tell that I was in good hands. The gift had to be made in a week and we definitely had some work to do to make the piece pop - including a carve out of two pieces from their original frames and dropping them into a new gorgeous frame that brought it all together. Their work enhanced the originals I provided handily and, more importantly to both me and my wife, helped tell a story that mattered to both of us. Thank you and looking forward to getting our best piece framed with the team!
Response: Anirban, thank you for the kind words. I must admit it was easy to feel inspired by your artwork. The sentiment was brilliant and beautiful. Can't wait to see what you think up next! :-)

Matthew Pfaff: Five stars on Yelp. Five more stars on Google. This isn’t an accident. If you have a piece or art or a cherished possession, you would be hard pressed to find anyone better equipped to treat the item with care than Harry and his team. For me, it was a 60-inch lithograph. I turned it over to Harry and watched him pull frames from a dizzying number of options. A couple weeks later, he delivered and hung the result in my home. There are any number of superlatives that I could use to describe his skill, but the reaction of a friend perhaps says it best: “the framing is more beautiful than the art.”
Response: That is such a nice review. Thank you so much Matthew. Hope to see you again.

Liz Richardson: I'm just wild about Harry...the owner, and the rest if the crew at Allen Custom Frame. The work they do is impeccable and they could not be nicer! Please go visit and give them my best!Liz Richardson
Response: Liz, thanks for the shoutout! We'll make sure to pass it along to Harry. Let us know next time you need anything! -Allen Custom Frame Team

Virginia Bramante: Very professional with a modern eye for the perfect frame.
Response: Virginia, than you for your kind words. As always it's a pleasure working with you. Looking forward to completing your print and poster of the print!

Emily Grossi: This place is such a DC treasure. Great frame selection, excellent quality, reasonable prices, terrific staff. I'm a regular!

Mohini Malhotra: Knowledgeable, friendly staff, and fairly priced
Response: Thanks so much for all the support, Mohini! Hope we'll see you around. -Allen Custom Frame Team

Marcelo Von Glehn: Quality work!
Response: We're glad you stopped in, Marcelo! We'd love to see you back soon. -Allen Custom Frame Team

Artful Framing & Gallery: what do users think?

Robert Miller: Art Framing is the absolute best! So professional and friendly! Gorgeous frames of all types. You want a real artist to help you choose the perfect frame, right? That's who you get at Art Framing! A real artist who will make your precious pictures that much more beautiful with a wonderful, tasteful frame!

Isaiah Waters: Amazing experience! My wife and I both have pictures that have been in the family for a very long time. Dilip took great care of them and made them beautiful again. We're very happy and highly recommend this establishment.

Andrew Baker: This is a wonderful business and my go-to for all framing. Staff are incredibly knowledgeable, products invariably high quality, lots of options for all kind of frames, matting and glass. They're particularly amazing at gently reframing, rematting and protecting older works that may still have acidic matting. I couldn't recommend this place more!

Lucas K: I'm so happy with my experience at Artful Framing & Gallery and would like to share it. I had never gotten anything framed before and wanted to get some vintage uncut sheets of cards framed. They are quite fragile and I didn't want anything to happen to them. I went to two frame shops before Artful Framing. The first seemed ok but didn't blow me away and the second I would never entrust something important with. I was really hoping that Artful Framing would work out. I was immediately impressed when I went in. The owner is an artist, very professional, and friendly. He had several framed pieces waiting to go out and they looked incredibly sharp. I explained that I hadn't gotten anything framed before and he walked me through the options. There was no pressure at all and the price he quoted was outstanding. I upgraded the glass pane for my favorite one of the three to museum glass-- and I love the way it turned out. It is the middle one in the picture with three sheets, and is also featured with its own close-up picture. It's truly like the glass isn't there at all. Incredible framing job and price for large, over-sized, old and fragile items. I am glad I will not have to think about where to go next time I need something framed. I'll just head here. Thank you for the great experience!

aj campbell: Make sure you call ahead for an appointment. The framing on my serigraph was top notch. This is top quality work by someone who really cares about the end product.

kimberlee keller: I love Artful Framing! Have beem going there for framing for years. Always do a great job. And the art at the store is wonderful to see.

Melanie Roberts: I experienced exceptional professionalism; I have an amazing piece reframed with impeccable quality.

Josarie Molina: I would definetly recommend Artful Framing. Dilip is professional, timely, and gives great recomendations to make artwork look its best.

Badiya Sudah: I've used the Artful Framing over the last 12 years. I've been very satisfied with the work. The prices are fair. The staff is courteous and helpful. I would like to see the owner in the store more often and I would like to see specials, a discount program or savings certificates to use for the future services. A social event of satisfied customers will make us a family.

David Saulter: The owner took time explaining the options and alternatives, differences between types of glass, cost etc. He never tried to up sell us and actually steered us towards a more economical approach a couple of times. The work was skillfully done and would go back again should we need additional services. P.S. - the owner is an artist in his own right. His own works are displayed through the space and is alone, reason enough for a visit to his store.

International Art Gallery and Custom Framing: what do users think?

Dave: Truly exceptiponal work with better prices than the other framers in the area. Habib, the owner was extremely friendly, accomidating, and helpful. Loved working with him! He did a masterful job of guiding through the process. Could not have been better to work with. This is the framer you want to work with!
Response: Dave, thank you for the wonderful review.. It was a pleasure working with you. I wish you a Happy Holidays and the Best for the New Year

Austin F.: Best framing work in the DMV area. Habib went above and beyond to help me design custom framing. He was patient, provided numerous options and ideas, offered competitive pricing, and completed the items promptly. Exceptional service and the highest quality of craftsmanship. Thank you Habib and team!
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words, Austin. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us. We truly appreciate your business. Looking forward serving again in the future.

shelley davis: This is my second visit to have Habib make my paintings more exquisite with an amazing framing job. His quality of craftsmanship, attention to detail & making sure your art work fits the frame is by far the best I have experienced. See you next week for pick up. Thx.
Response: Shelley, it has been pleasure working with you. We value your patronage and appreciate your confidence in us.

Mir Niy: What an exceptional place to frame your artwork! I needed calligraphy art framed within two hours. Despite short notice, Habib and Lauren took their time to advise me what color and type of mat/frame to use and the frame turned into a fine artwork. Many thanks for professionalism. Highly recommended!
Response: We were happy to help! So glad you were pleased with our work. Thank you for your review.

Joshua Young: Habib is incredible and maybe best prices in DC for quality work. He framed 2 large pieces of original art for me in addition to a number of smaller prints. Habib went above and beyond to fix a small problem that occurred with one of the pieces and we are fully satisfied in the end. Highly recommended.
Response: Joshua, thank you for kind words. It was a pleasure serving you. We are delighted that you are happy with our quality of work and service.

Etu Dieng: I am an interior designer and decorator and I have been using Habib's services since 2007. Very neat gallery, great art selection, very kind employees with professional attitude, unique original art collection all in the hand of an expert with a great eye and unbeatable price range. I highly recommend this place
Response: Etu, thank you for the kind words. It's always a pleasure doing business with you. Be safe

Jeremy Haile: This is the best place for framing in Washington, DC. They provide all kinds of services for hanging art, photography, or other materials, and they have a great selection of works to choose from. Projects are completed promptly, and are consistently of the highest quality. And the price is always fair. Best of all, Habib and his staff are wonderful to work with. For art and custom framing, there's no better place in town.

Michael Werner: Habib did a fantastic job helping me design and frame a set of pictures from our vacation. It looks beautiful in our home. He really provides personalized and top-notch service
Response: Hello Michael, thank you for the kind words. We are glad that you are happy with our services.

Joe Donnelly: IAG deserves five stars. A) Open for a few hours on Saturday (major plus), B) very professional, C) reasonable pricing, D) excellent quality in finished pieces, E) outstanding timing. I expected to feel like I was paying too much for framing and to not enjoy the experience. To the contrary, Habib is very welcoming, made me feel great about my art - equally the expensive item and the $40 casual print that I might ditch in a year. For the expensive piece, he listened to my framing idea and politely recommended an alternative (black frame vs. chrome) which was actually a much better fit given the colors in the art. Then, he met his great prices with amazing timing to help me get these hung before a small party. I HIGHLY recommend Habib and Int'l Art Gallery (I chose him based on reviews so I hope this continues to spread the good word) and I will return to him for any future framing needs. Thanks!

Billy McMorris: Couldn't have been better. Quick, excellent service and amazing staff. I walked in with my own ideas of what my frame would look like; the staff had much better (and more tasteful) ideas. They obviously could have taken advantage of my ignorance and steered me to the most expensive frame in the store and instead did it at a lower cost than my initial budget.

Second Story Books: what do users think?

Jereth Tolentino: You can definitely get stuck inside this place for hours if you’re in to rare books. The staff is great and very helpful. Love the location and the building. I will definitely be coming back every time im in the area.

James Bacon: Excellent used bookstore. They know their books and have sections for modern 1st editions as well as ample SF, Lit and of course history and politics. Really enjoyed the browse. Some lovely finds.

Alejandro Nuñez-Jimenez: Great second hand bookshop. They have a very large selection of titles, covering a wide range of topics. Very well organized shelves that make it easy to find what you're looking for. If you still don't, just ask the staff, they were very helpful. I particularly enjoyed the considerable amount of science and economics books, which had some titles outside of the usual suspects. 4/5 stars because the pricing is a bit higher from other physical and online stores.

Angelica Oung: This bookstore had a superb collection of both books you been meaning to read, waiting for you to discover, and are just curious to flip through. The perfect selection of old and newer, with a few antique titles to give it that authentic ambiance. It has the perfect use bookstore smell. Prices are reasonable. Please treasure this place and keep it alive for many years to come.

Eddies: I've been here many times over the years and have yet to come across staff that did not act smug when approached. Last time will be the end of my relationship. I entered under the assumption that since the mask mandate was lifted long ago this establishment was following the path of most other establishments and not mandating masks. As I was browsing around I approached a staff member and began asking her a question (from a distance of about 10 feet mind you). She interrupted me mid-sentence and said "do you have a mask" in a stern tone. I said, oh I didn't realize I needed one. She pointed to some masks near the door. As I was placing the mask on I noticed that she and a male who had been working on a computer had stopped what they were doing and were glaring at me as if I had just committed an atrocity or was an alien from outer space. Between that reaction and her tone in interrupting me (without so much as an apology or simple "excuse me") turned me off. I left and won't be back. The issue here isn't the mask policy it's the pattern of encountering smug employees. I don't "need" to do business here, especially with a store that acts like they are doing me a favor by allowing me in. Plenty of other options out there. I very much like to support local independent business but respect and appreciation go both ways.

Gabriel Nicolosi: Books are overpriced. They also sell extremely overpriced prints as if they were actually art pieces. I frequently buy old and vintage prints online and in auctions and I can tell you those prices are to fool the regular consumer. Also, they like old stuff so much that they still require masks inside the store. I just went inside because my wife wanted a book. Convinced her to leave after 2 minutes and bought the book online. Done with the face diaper.

Gica Mangahas: Great collection of secondhand books. Nice sociology/social concerns and US domestic politics sections. Decent world affairs and regional studies sections, though for more niche topics you'd be better off visiting the giant Rockville location.

JXG JXG: A fairly good selection of books but TERRIBLE customer service, downright rude most of the time. A customer will ask for a book and there will be three or four employees behind the counter but only on rare occasions will anyone actually assist the customer find what they're looking for. And their banter is overwrought sophomoric drivel, and they never shut up!

Amanda Blake: Very cool place! They have some impressive first editions and original or signed works, ranging from books to maps to posters. They also have standard used books, although they seem to lean toward vintage. It's a great place to duck into and look around. They have arrows and mask requirements right now for covid.

HorrorJunky 4 Life: I love the selection of new & used books that are sold here. The isles are a little narrow which makes for a tight squeeze when trying to pass other customers. They also have a nice selection of DVDs. The books being sold on the the sidewalk are a great deal at 4 for $20. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Preservation and Framing Services: what do users think?

Molly Mastrangelo: I have been using this framing service for several years, and have always been satisfied with the results. Matin is so good at choosing just the right frame and mat for each picture, and the work is always finished expertly and promptly. Framing is expensive, but I think Preservation gives good value for the cost.

graciebuster: Recently I had some treasured photographs and paintings framed at this amazing place. The work is superb . Matin, the owner, helped me choose the perfect matting colors and the frames are so unique . I am thrilled by the results and felt I should let everyone know that this business is superb. I would never trust anyone else.

Thérèse-Marie Harkey: My husband and I previously took a large art work to Preservation and Framing Services for repair Based on the attention and expert care that our art work received, we vowed we'd never go anywhere else for our framing or preservation needs. Later, I had an abstract painting that needed "something special". Luckily I knew my idea to float the painting on plexiglass could become a reality because I had THE BEST experts at Preservation and Framing to execute my idea. Just picked it up today and my husband and I are over the moon happy with how perfect and beautiful it turned out - exactly what was in my mind when I left it in their competent hands. Matin is super awesome - fair, honest, kind and talented. There simply can't be a better place to take your valuable art work, photographs, prints etc. Thank you Preservation and Restoration for making my dream a reality!
Response: Therese, Thank you so much for your review! It was so much fun working on your project together. Thank you for sharing the amazing photos you took after they were up in your home. See you soon! Matin

Terry Phillips: I have been a customer of Preservation and Framing Services for many years and my house if full of their excellent work. I travel quite a bit and love to bring home all sorts of artwork and ornaments. Preservation and Framing services is always to place my wife and I turn to for preserving and displaying our treasures. The staff is extremely helpful and always ready to help with framing and display suggestions. Over the years, we must have had 30 pieces framed and correctly displayed by The DC location. I always recommend their excellent and creative services to all my friends and colleagues.
Response: Thank you so much, Terry! We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review!

Melissa Barron: Highly recommend Preservation and Framing Services to anyone in need of custom framing or art restoration. The service is phenomenal, they even offer in home art consultations and delivery!
Response: Thank you Melissa for your review! Its always great seeing you!

Joe Ruth: We have had our framing done here for almost twenty years. Matin has an astonishing eye for color and texture. We have found that nine times in ten we agree with her first or second suggestion even if we initially insisted on trying some of our own ideas. Matin is a joy to work with. She is the best framer we have ever worked with, and we are in our 70s. Abbas is a superb restorer. Earlier this year we took him a more than century old oil painting which was finished years ago with a varnish that turned white paint into brownish yellow. The painting has great sentimental value, so we really wanted it done right. Abbas was able to remove the varnish and perform some delicate touch up painting. It now looks terrific. Thank you! We have always found their prices to be reasonable for the work they do. This is not your average framer/restorer. You are getting top quality attention and work.
Response: Hi Joe, Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review! It is always a pleasure working with you. Hope to see you soon! Matin

Scott Spencer: Everyone at Preservation Framing has been amazing, full of good suggestions for my customers art framing, and incredibly helpful with the restoration of an expensive family piece. I couldn’t recommend them any higher!! Their work is impeccable.
Response: Hi Scott, Thank you so much for your review! Its always a pleasure working with you.

Robin Weaver: Preservation and Framing is the only place to go if you want beautiful work of high quality done with your art, photos or heirlooms. Over many years, this is the only place I have used for preserving and framing important art and documents. The work is always completed in a timely fashion with skill and caring. If it is framing that I needed - then the choices were plentiful. I have had art work done in box frames and family photos framed in wood. If you have important information about the piece that you need to keep (dates of purchase, artist names, personal letters, etc) then sleeves are put on the back to protect and maintain the documents. You can count on the excellent workmanship, fair pricing and problem solving that you find at Preservation and Framing.
Response: Thank you for your business in the past. Matin

Rosemary Pye: Matin is absolutely fabulous! We had many family pictures and she framed 50 pictures for us for a picture wall. We have also had many other pictures framed by her as we redecorated our house. I highly recommend her. Her prices are very reasonable and her work is of the highest quality.
Response: Thank you for your business, it was my pleasurer working with you. Matin

Elizabeth DeOreo: I have been a client of Preservation and Framing for about 8 years. Matin does beautiful work. She has a fabulous eye and always suggests something creative. People routinely compliment the unique matting and framing in my home. I have given her work as gifts and my friends and family have been thrilled with the meticulous and creative work Matin does. Her shop is convenient to DC and Bethesda and I appreciate how easy it is to park/load/unload. I enthusiastically recommend Matin and Preservation and Framing Services.
Response: Hello Elizabeth! Thank you so much for your review! Its always a pleasure working with you! See you soon. Matin

18th Street Framing: what do users think?

Ben Dussault: They fixed a completely broken frame and mirror (which fell off the wall due to poor previous installation) to look like new and helped hang it perfectly. I ended up choosing them because they were one of the few shops in the area that seemed to do both mirror replacement and frame repair themselves. Their pricing was very fair as well. I was very happy with the work and will go back!
Response: We appreciate your Support!!!

Judah: Phenomenal job every time. Attention to detail. Clean finishes. You get what you pay for. Cant recommend them enough.
Response: We appreciate your business!!!

Jonas Heering: I got two prints framed here and was extremely happy with the experience and the outcome. They finished my order very quickly, more than a week ahead of the date they told me when I placed the order. The framing is done very well and very high quality and the prices are very reasonable compared to some other custom framing stores.

Bob McDonald: Good shop, I have been pleased with everything I get framed here. They’re not pushy at all.
Response: Dear Mr. McDonald Thank you for your honest review. We always appreciate your business!!!

Alissa Williams: 18th street framing has a really welcoming team and they were more than helpful in helping me frame some art of time with the best matting and frame for my artwork! I loved it there and there is the cutest dog in the store! Definitely has a mom and pop feel to the store and everyone was super professional! They got me my framed work back in no time and for a really good price. Thanks AK! I love it and will definitely be returning the next time I need something framed.
Response: Alissa, we appreciate your comment, and we hope to see you again soon. AK

T Harris: Awesome team of people working here! as an artist I struggle to find framers who are knowledgeable about handling artwork and after working with AK i will never use another frame shop. The staff here is patient, knowledgeable & attentive and my paintings were framed beautifully!

Nickolas Beck: AK - the owner is awesome! He takes the time to explain how the matting and framing will look with what you're having framed. The variety that he has is just simply amazing! His conservation glass works great as I've had some vintage posters and lithographs framed and I can tell that they're not deteriorating like they were in their previous frames.

Nathaniel Myers: Great place - the work is fantastic, the prices fair, and the experience enjoyable and low pressure. AK and his son are super helpful, have great aesthetic judgement, and are straightforward about pricing, without any upselling. Will definitely go back.
Response: We appreciate your business!!!

Mike Lavoie: I've had two items of great personal significance framed here, and they did a fantastic job. The owner has a Master's Degree in preservation studies, and does his job with obvious joy and the utmost professionalism. The prices are comparable to other places in NW, although the attention to detail is head-and-shoulders above the rest. 18th Street Framing has my highest recommendation for framing needs.

Julia Truelove: I brought in a poster to be framed, and picked it up about two weeks later. The owner chose a great looking mat and frame, and I'm very satisfied with the work. I paid with a Groupon. Will definitely be back.

James Bacon: Nice shop with a great selection of current comics and graphic novels. Some nice displays and thoughtful art on the walls. Not a back issue store, per se, they had recent issues, and a solar box, but ample to enjoy and find, excellent selection for kids. Friendly staff for sure.

Andy Benavente: Awesome shop! Great selection of graphic novels and current comics! The young woman behind the counter was very helpful and provided some great recommendations from the writer of the book I picked up. Would highly recommend to stop in and check out!

Paul Scarborough: Polite and quiet staff offered help that much I can say. 1st and last visit I shall do however, no stock of anything. Find it amazing a comic shop has only 3 issues of something so common and popular a character as Spider-Man. I’d describe this more as an indie comic book shop carrying more less popular characters. Hardly any backstock and the stuff they did have was shoved in a box and damaged without bags and borders

Luis Pantoja: Great comic book store with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I have always had a positive experience when visiting this shop. I highly recommend it!

Kevin Xu: Great selection of mainstream and emerging comic artists, with a wide variety of genres. I personally got a copy of Djelia by Juni Ba, something you can't get from a Barnes and Noble or Books a million, atleast in the NOVA area Staff are super helpful in trying to find what you're looking for, and the hallway always smells like fresh bread thanks the Subway nearby

Michael Kellar: Awesome little comic shop. Friendly staff, comfortable environment to look around, read a comic, and explore. If you’re in the area and looking for a space to check out some of the more recent interesting comics, definitely a good spot to check out.

J Foodgeek: Good selection, but mainly I'm rating it well because the two kids working there today were super nice and willing to talk about anime. Today was the first time I went there. They even have a few board games. Also, there are sometimes some freebies on the left when you walk in, like I saw a movie poster once, a marvel calendar once, and they usually have den of geek magazines out.
Response: Thanks for stopping by and we hope to see you again soon! And thanks for the great review!

Kamal C: @Fantomcomics in #washingtondc #dupontcircle is most definitely a place you would want to visit bo matter if you are a DC native or just visiting. Fantom Comics is among my favorites of all places to spend a little time, some things that makes this place cool is the chill layout, the little knickknacks, collectables, pins, snacks and more... even if you dont collect comics this place has something for everyone.😎👍🏻 "" Hey everyone this is kamal and I like to do reviews in my spare time from work and if you enjoy any of my post please like with a thumbs up and follow me on here on Google Maps or Instagram @chefkamalc Thanks and stay safe 🙏 mask up 😷
Response: Hi, Kamal. Thanks for the kind review! We appreciate your support. Hope you can visit us again soon. Cheers!

R KM: Great spot. Nice selection and “subscription” service. Check the bargain boxes for scores (some at only $1)

Jonathan Mckay: Lovely little comic book store with a fun rating system for new releases, staff picks, events and custom grab bags

Plaza Artist Materials & Picture Framing: what do users think?

cq ny: With Plaza Artist Materials I found a strong competitor to Blick. A great selection of notebooks for sketching, drawing and watercolor that I used to only find on Amazon but now I can buy here in person. Stop by this store for sketching, drawing and painting supplies. They also have canvases and supplies for oil and acrylic art, knitting, and other art mediums that look interesting. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Prices seem reasonable.

david hawksford: These are the worst people to deal with. Very unfriendly It's like being in a mortuary having a deal with these people. At least they have some supplies.

Will Edwards: Has frames and some basic art supplies. Nothing super special

Jon Fisher: Fantastic store with a great selection of products and very helpful and friendly staff who helped us find everything and give us advice on which materials to purchase for an art class.

Shadawn Duncan: Since starting my venture into being an artist, I spend so much the in there they know my name. I can always ask questions and get guidance and tips because all of the staff have an artist's background. Makes it easy to shop.

Georgia Hronek: I don't know a lot about art but the staff helped me out in finding my supplies. It seems like they had an okay selection except the store overall was small. I think if you're looking for something specific you might want to check their website first to see if they have it. By the way the DC angel wings mural is on the side of their building just as an FYI. I was happy with my overall experience so I'll go back to get more art supplies for my drawing class from the store. I'm not an artist though so I can't speak to how good their prices are.

Laura P: The store was bright and clean, with helpful but not intrusive or hovering staff and a very good selection of watercolor paints, paper and brushes, and many more things that I did not peruse as carefully. I had a groupon, which was awesome, since I could easily have spent much more than I did. Definitely worth checking out!

Waldo Strange: Helpful staff, good assortment of products, clean and well organized. They have a loyalty program that is free to sign up for. Dinged a star, though, because their prices are a bit high in my opinion. Would like to see better deals at least on store brand things.

Poro Mitoto: I love this location. I first started going because of the Groupon coupons that I kept seeing pop up in my recommendations. The staff is super friendly and the guy who was working the cash register the past two times that I've been went out of his way both times for me. He even helped me sign up for their savings and gave me coupons. I wish I remembered his name.

Katie E: Fantastic selection at this art store and a wonderful staff eager to help you find what you need. Their ranges of materials and the brands they carry are extensive. This place became my new go-to after Pearl closed down. I've gone in for everything from fabric dye to pens/markers, pencil sets, pads, clay-work items, etc and not once have I walked out without exactly what I was looking for. If you're looking to cut down on costs, they also have an email list that's chock full of coupons.

Millbrook Antiques & Prints: what do users think?

Bella Dieckmann: The owner was knowledgeable, helpful, and so patient. And of course Mr. Charlie was very welcoming. We bought a few prints here years ago, and are kicking ourselves for not returning sooner. We just bought a large 1920s poster and many small prints. They had exactly the selection we were looking for, and are happy to support local business.

Matthew: Cute little shop-ran by an adorable dog and his owner. Prices are very fair. Picked up a nice art glass oil lamp and a print hand signed by local Baltimore artist, Herman Maril. Owner was polite, friendly, and was ready to bargain! The store has a wonderful collection of vintage prints and frames. One could spend hours inside going through the various prints. Owner is very knowledgeable and loves to share his knowledge-was a fun buying experience!

Elaine Pollack: I love Millbrook Antiques! Something for everyone. Very well organized and maintained. Quite the variety of antiques. I was especially impressed with the collection from prints (and SIZE, some are huge) available. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great conversation. I love that it is in Hampden and in what used to be a residential row home some 70+ years ago. I'll most certainly be back.

Henri Gjoni: I stopped by Millbrook Antiques in search of a unique Christmas gift for a friend. Being a huge history nerd myself, I was thrilled to see their vast collection of old prints. The two gentlemen working at the time were extremely helpful in describing the pieces and putting them into historical context. It was my first time visiting the store, but surely will not be my last. Highly recommend.

Carey Esslinger: I bought two prints from Millbrook - one a WWI War Bonds poster and the other an Art Deco piece. Both are wonderful additions to my home and helped add the final touches to a recent renovation. Millbrook has a unique and impressive collection of prints and posters with new stock regularly added. Prices are very reasonable.

Heather Dewar: Millbrook Antiques helped me find new homes for a small family collection of paintings, prints, china and bric-a-brac that I could not move from Baltimore to Florida. Ned Gans, one of the partners, was very knowledgeable about original artwork and local markets, painstaking in his research, and strategic in his thinking. He worked very hard to help me get the best possible prices for my items. I trusted his judgment and expertise and was very happy with the result. He made my big move much easier.

Lisa Currotto: This is my favorite spot for antiques in Baltimore. Their collection of unique and one of a kind items varies from ancient Asian porcelain ware, to sterling silver, to Tiffany lamps, to vintage knick-knacks, and jewelry. They also have a fascinating collection of old posters, maps, and art. They do framing right on the premises as well. This store is simply charming and is located on the avenue in Hampden. The owner is very welcoming and friendly and has a great knowledge of all the pieces in his store.

Paul Martin: Great personal attention from a very knowledgeable staff. A very good collection of original (non-repro) period prints and maps, particularly focused on the history of Baltimore and Maryland. A great place to shop for unique gifts at reasonable prices including interesting collections of Asian Pacific place setting/tableware and other personal items.

Michael Quitt: Very knowledgeable and friendly owners, incredible selection of prints/art, antiques and collectibles. It's definitely worth the trip to visit this amazing shop!!

Christopher Mitchell: Great Guy! Traveled far for his expertise!

CHISHOLM LARSSON GALLERY: what do users think?

Pete Katsanos: Great selection of posters and Lars is always a pleasure to work with. I have bought several posters from them and the expertise and wealth of knowledge on the pieces themselves is exceptional and much appreciated. Always a pleasure to deal with whether on phone, email or better yet in person. You won't be disappointed.

Rob Dunlop: Online transaction went very smoothly, delivery was quicker than expected and the archival linen backing service was very reasonably priced and looks great. I'm delighted with my purchase and with the service I received. Thank you so much!

Kerry Bean: Great selection of vintage posters and great customer service. So far I've only placed one order, but I was very happy with the results. First I mistakenly requested linen backing for two posters that really didn't need linen backing. Jason reached out to let me know they would refund that fee and ship my posters that day. There was a minor hiccup in shipping and Jason reached out to me even before I discovered the issue to set things right. I appreciate Jason's honesty and quick contact regarding the shipping matter. I look forward to doing business with Chisolm Larsson Gallery again and hope to visit the shop as well!

Team Wlody: When something is this good- it doesn’t matter how far you have to travel... Chisholm Larsson Gallery is one of those special gems in NYC! We discovered this place while looking for a meaningful gift back in 2013, and we’ve been coming back ever since. Lars, Robert and Jason make it (truly) a pleasure to shop in this colorful space. There is always something new and fascinating to see (and learn about) from these very friendly and knowledgeable gentlemen! They made collectors (of original, rare, poster art) out of us, and I think we’re going to need a bigger house!

Danika Rockett: Super friendly, and tons of selection. Browse cool prints at reasonable prices in the shop, such as postcards, or the higher end gallery items. Or check out their online selection from within the shop. A great selection of foreign movie posters, too.

Michael Stoll: This poster gallery is a must stop for all poster enthusiasts while visiting New York City. Run by Lars, Robert and Jason, their show room features a great variety of travel-, film- and educational posters. The owners are happy to help you with all your questions. You will also be able to explore their vast database, running on several computers in the gallery. A very professional and friendly atmosphere. Bought a poster there and will do again.

Mooning Cat: I can not recommend this place enough! They went out of their way to make me a custom copy and send it across the Atlantic. The quality is superb, the poster was safely wrapped and they've been very nice throughout our whole conversation. Sadly I can't give more than five stars.

ann Kantra: We have been clients for years .... purchased many posters and all have increased in value ! Could not ask for a better experience from a non - pressure , sharing the history , the artist and beautiful frames.

Charles Borden: Extremely friendly and helpful. Large and diverse collection as well. The online, easy to use, catalogue stations allow you to find what you are looking for quickly.

AUNRÉE JAC: Robert and Lars, owners of Chisholm Larsson Gallery are just awesome!

La Belle Epoque Vintage Posters & Framing: what do users think?

Sofia Kfouri Gomes: By far my favorite place in New York City. It's not only a poster gallery, but a full experience. The owners treat every client like a member of their family and spare no time nor effort to give a beautiful history lesson on each one of their original pieces. They also have the most amazing taste and I would trust them with my eyes closed to always design the perfect frame. I never thought I'd be able to own a museum worthy/ 120+ years old piece of art. But I guess that's the fun of posters... Thank you for helping me turn my house into a home!

Robert Longwell: It was a pleasure meeting and working with Elie, Buddy, and Linda. Their passion, thoughtfulness, and friendliness instills a sense of trust and appreciation for their profession. They went above and beyond and even helped me installed the poster in my home. I would highly recommend popping by La Belle Epoque and introducing yourself if you’re in town.

Tim Pittman: I can’t recommend more highly the La Belle Époque! Linda and Elie are so wonderful to work with. They are so thoughtful with their time, having spent over an hour with me. They are so passionate about their work and don’t hesitate to educate you about what makes these so special - the history, the rarity, stories, behind each one. They helped me choose my first poster and the frame, which look amazing in my place. Go see them in their incredible new location on 8th ave!
Response: Thank you so much for your kind words Tim! We are incredibly passionate about what we do and have great pleasure in teaching curious people such as yourself. We hope to have you here many more times! Elie & Linda

El McMillan: This is my new favorite spot!! I recently purchased this Ed Sagot poster from La Belle Époque and had the best experience. They have a huge selection of amazing vintage posters. The best part, though, is that the owners are extremely knowledgeable about the history and background of every single poster in their shop. They truly bring the posters to life!! I would recommend this special spot to everyone. Even if you don't intend on buying, You should still stop by for the experience. Hopefully I can make another purchase again soon!
Response: It was a pleasure having you here El, and we are so happy that you were able to find a piece that you loved! It's great to be able to teach our passion to people such as yourself, and we truly hope to see you again soon. Elie & Linda

Tom Wicks: Eli and Linda are amazing. You can tell they are truly passionate about their business and customers. They are farming a huge bespoke piece for us and Eli has invented a new way to carry out the framing so that we can fit it in the elevator of our building! A true pioneer in the framing world !

Yina: My husband and I love coming to La Belle Epoque. Linda & Elie are very enthusiastic, have a lot of expertise in this space and are great fun to talk to each time. We are so pleased with the three pieces we've been bought from them so far. It was well worth the investment as it has given life to our apartment, and makes us incredibly happy each time we look at them. There's a wonderful range of pieces for all budgets.

Rodrigo Pontes: We found this beautiful vintage French Liquor Label at La Belle Epoque that reminded us of home. In fact it was extra special since I have both French and Brazilian origins. It was the perfect addition to our apartment!

Kinsey Terragno: La Belle Epoque is hands down one of the best shops I have been in before. My mother and I came in to find a vintage poster she has been wanting for our house. Not only did they have it but they had so many other amazing posters we got to see! It truly was like visiting a museum. In addition, Elie and Linda are two of the most knowledge people about this artwork. Not to mention also extremely kind. My mom got the beautiful poster she wanted here! It was so amazing to see how excited my mom was here, all thanks to Linda and Elie. Could not say one single bad thing about La Belle Epoque. Truly such an amazing store with amazing people! We are already looking forward to coming back again!
Response: It was our pleasure having you and Teresa in our store! We were extremally honored to have been your first stop in NYC and even more glad to be a part of your house. Please come visit us next time you're in the city! Elie & Linda

Angie G: La Belle Epoque is one of the most unique vintage art stores in Manhattan. I normally don't write reviews but my multiple experiences purchasing and visiting this location have been unmatched. The art itself is diverse, special and one-of-a-kind. The customer service is outstanding as the owners are with you every step of the process and have impeccable guidance when it comes to selecting the piece that would work well with your space. My most recent purchase has been a wonderful addition to my home and has caught the eye of everyone who has visited. I cannot recommend La Belle Epoque enough, and I am excited to purchase my next piece!
Response: Thank you very much. We love what we do and are very passionate about it. We suppose it shows. Linda & Elie

Tzvi Wertenteil: What an amazing collection. Linda, Eli, and Mia were all amazingly helpful, passionate, and patient with everyone who walked in. Linda was so nice and knowledgeable! This was our first poster purchase and we learned a TON. Everyone who works here knows EVERYTHING about posters and has a story about each piece. There’s absolutely no pressure to buy but you’ll probably walk out with something you love 🙂
Response: It was our pleasure assisting you both. We are very passionate about what we do, and happy to share our knowledge with our customers. We have been a collators for almost 50 years and in business since 1985 and still love what we do. Linda & Elie

Reiter's Books: what do users think?

Rick Ferreira: Reiter’s is a real gem. They have a wide selection focused on several professional fields, mainly international development. A quick conversation with staff can get you any book you might want through special order. They started carrying miniature tabletop games and have sponsored a local gaming club that meets on Saturdays for several year. Truly a welcoming and community focused business.

Jasmina Makota: Great bookstore with an excellent collection! Very nice staff. Support small businesses & get your books here instead of Amazon. They also do passport photos!

Mike Parris: I found the staff very knowledgeable and pleasant. The store is a little small compared to the big name brand places but this gave it a more "homey" kind of feeling. It felt very comfortable to just wander and browse and not feel rushed. The cafe is superb! Their coffee drinks were very well made. It felt like everyone knew each other. Very cool place! I will definitely be coming back.

William Yon: Come for the coffee, stay for the bookstore. There's a pleasant patio with seating and the coffee is legitimately good. The ladies working the coffee bar are some of the nicest folks in the city and can pull a damn fine espresso too. The pastries they serve are well made, and their biscottis are amazing. I usually just grab a coffee and run, but I always end up lingering a bit to chat with the staff because that's just the community watering hole this kind of place is.

Briana Wojcik: Very small bookstore without a large selection. Some interesting books and a nice sale on the sidewalk. Has a coffee bar inside that's a little overpriced and crowded. After going once I probably won't go back.

Thomas Fricton: Fantastic small locally owned shop. They have a good selection of professional (medical, legal, international studies) books. Also a lot of political science and nonfiction. They also sell some warhammer (40k and age of sigmar) products. The owner is often there on weekends and he is very friendly and community oriented. It is definitely worth a stop in just to say hi and chat.

Austin Graff: Reiter's Books is a DC institution. It's in downtown DC in the bottom floor of a sterile DC office building. It's a small bookstore with a large government, politics, and foreign affairs section. In the front it's a coffee shop selling mediocre coffee and pastries. Outside there are book carts with even cheaper books (novels, etc) and a large outdoor patio to enjoy a good book and coffee.

Alicia Moody: I went to Reiters because there's a photographer in the back of the store that takes passport photos, which they specifically say is not associated with the shop. I'd just get your photo done at a CVS if possible, it's half the price and better. While I was waiting for the photo to come out, I looked around the cafe/bookstore. The little cafe and tiny bookshop is interesting and different than a lot of other little shops around. They have some fun maps, puzzles and kids books in addition to a variety of non-children's books.

sugata das: The best bookstore in Washington DC, passport photos, wonderful Cafe. And now that Cannabis is legal Bobby's got a license. Botanical etheogens/psychedelics to follow with the new legislation

James B. Cole: The old Reiter's on I St. had an excellent selection of scientific books. In the new location (adjacent to the World Bank) the emphasis is more on economics and international issues. Still a few decent science books however. Nice cafe.

Jenni Bick Custom Journals: what do users think?

Martina Rosen: Overcharged, phone call not returned, mean salesperson. Would go through Amazon if I had it to do over again. Here are the excruciatingly detailed details: I was in earlier this week. I had what I would consider odd experiences with one of the store clerks. It sounds like generally Jenni Bick has excellent customer service but that wasn’t my experience across the board. One employee was kind but the other seemed a bit mean if I can put it directly. We had a few encounters that left me feeling uneasy. I can’t say I have had that experience anywhere else — I generally have an easy time interacting with people. This was frustrating because my trip to this store was meant to be a treat. It isn’t inexpensive, and I used my lunch break to walk up to their store and back from K and 20th. I was looking forward to a nice experience buying a nice journal. This same salesperson wound up overcharging me for a product after displaying much scrutiny about the labeled price. I actually didn’t realize I was overcharged until looking at my receipt the next day. I bought two journals — one Moleskin for about $27, one clearance journal listed at $15, because it had some damage. After studying the journal for quite a while (and confirming when I mentioned the discounted price that she had seen it), I was charged $25; almost twice as much. When I brought the journal back to my office and fully unwrapped it I clearly saw the damage. (But for $15 it’s fine!) I called first thing in the morning the next day, and listened to my voicemail before sending it. My phone number was clear both times I said it. It’s been two full business days and I haven’t received a call back. It just seems odd. I put in a second call this morning but at this point feel somewhat frustrated. I wouldn’t have gone there if I had known it would be like this. The whole point of going into a store rather than Amazon was for the shopping experience.

J Sheehan: Though the products are quality and gorgeous, the staff were so passive aggressive. Instead of telling us they were closing, they played Closing Time by Semisonic. I understand the desire to close up shop, but the staff should be responsible for kindly communicating that. I will be ordering online instead of visiting the shop and recommend others do as well.

Piper Strzelecki: This is one of my favorite spots in the area!! The shop is perfect for cute gifts: stationary, puzzles, tote bags, and every writing utensil you could imagine. Very reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend.

Robert Gregory: My wife likes pens. And paper too. So she likes this store. She has good taste. I just walk around the neighborhood while she shops.

Grant Smith: Top notch quality. Fast customer inquiry response, quick production and good tracking. Absolutely first class selection, and with the front window and custom gold leaf script, you can literally create any theme. I went for the "Ode to the Dreadnought..."

Meaghan Nelson Gibb: I do custom orders a couple of times per month and they make it so simple from start to finish. Their customer service is really excellent, the quality is 100% and the shipping/delivery notifications are great! Could not ask for more!

Julie Palangi: Store personnel were disinterested and dismissive. Having been my first time in, it would have been great to be welcomed and asked if I needed any help. Was studiously ignored instead. Weird when there was only 2-3 other customers. Selection was fine, although I'm not sure stamping my name on the cover of a notebook constitutes "custom?" I was expecting to actually create my own journal with specific pages and sections. I should have done homework before trekking up there I guess. Won't be back.

Zack Williams: Awesome place with excellent staff! I was looking at the travelers notebook series or a different Midori product and was having trouble making up my mind. They left me alone for an hour wondering around the shop trying to figure out what I wanted and occasionally making sure I was still good and didn’t need any more help. I look forward to going back on my next trip to DC and will be sure to tell my friends to go here should they be the type who might be interested. The website doesn’t do the selection justice so if you don’t see something you are interested in online, but will be in the area, you should still go in and check it out!

Kavitha: The embossing on the journal was not straight so unfortunately had to get a replacement journal but opted out of the embossing as I didn't want to risk it again. So I just ended up with a regular planner which was quite disappointing. Customer service was very prompt through and I did get the embossing fee refunded so that was great but overall a disappointing experience.

Callan Eschenburg: A great selection of stationary, notebooks, and fine custom journals. Nice selection of pens and some ink bottles/cartridges as well. I have found many great deals in their sale/clearance section as well. Always walk out with way more than I came in for, but still at a great price!
Response: Thanks for the review, Callan! We're happy to be a regular shop for you. Hope you'll be back to see us soon :)

Philip Williams Posters: what do users think?

Natalia Teodora: The place is incredible. You can spend the entire day there just gazing and analyzing all of the posters and art. Pricing of the posters is really good too for the originality and quality that you are getting. The owner has been doing this for over 40 years and he knows exactly what to have in store. Very kind, worldly individual as well. I plan to come back to decorate my apartment from floor to ceiling with large posters :D Highly recommended looking online if you’re looking for something specific, you can really filter to the T, countries, languages, movies, decades, etc. luv luv luv

Lillian Medina: Great poster's for office and homeFrom 1800s and more ....

Rebekah S: THE BEST POSTER SHOP IN ALL OF NY!! Not the mention Philip, the owner, is so kind and knows exactly what he’s doing. You name any type of print, he has it. Make sure to check out the vintage magazines. Tip: Look online beforehand to get a better idea of the thousands of different posters to choose from

Orlando Asson: This place is packed with tons of posters and this is just mere fraction of Philip's inventory. Highly recommended to look at postermuseum.com before going to this location of your looking for something specific. Otherwise, enjoy the awesome floor to ceiling views of awesome poster art!

Adams Salahou: Came today at 3:30, poster says « closed until 4pm », came back at 5:30, poster says « closed at 5pm today »… the pictures look great from the street (hence the 2 stars), but updating the timetables would help

Bilal Chaudry: This store is a real gem. The selection is mind boggling. I really liked that they had back issues of Life magazine - I wanted to pick up the issue for my dad's birthday but sadly they didn't have it in stock. We did pick up some nice covers from back issues or The New Yorker, which I imagine will look even more beautiful once framed. They also do international shipping (handy to know as I was visiting NYC and could not fit a massive poster in my cabin luggage! The staff are very friendly/helpful and the full catalogue is contained online (but that still doesn't beat going down to check out the wares!). Highly recommend checking this place out.

Soph: I liked it. I would go again. It's a place to shift through a lot of posters and magazines, and while that can be a delightful surprise on it's own, I would have loved more curation.

Gottfried Leibniz: Large selection of posters. Staff quite helpful. A great spot for posters, probably top 2-3 in town.

Bhoodha S: The selection is amazing and it's even more amazing that the store owner can pick out what you're looking for from memory.

Justyna Podralska: We literally ran though the shop, so I cannot say a lot about it, but it had a great atmosphere and even a more amazing collection of posters!
Response: thank you for visiting!

Museum Framing: what do users think?

Joe Recht: Rick is incredibly passionate about his work, and charges very reasonable prices for museum/archival-quality custom frames! He's done six frames for me so far, and I always recommend him to friends in the market. Plenty of quality materials to choose from. Responsive service, excellent work, and solid prices. What's not to like?
Response: Thanks Joe! Love that Japanese print!

V Carney: We had some antique lithographs we wanted framed and looked for the most highly qualified framer in the area. Rick had the experience and great reviews, so we met with him to discuss options. We knew what we wanted in terms of framing style and mat color, but Rick guided us to the perfect match. Because things are still crazy during the pandemic, there was a slight delay in getting the moulding. But Rick was tenacious, making several calls until he met with success. The job was done beautifully, to perfection, and the lithographs are a wonderful addition in our home. Special thanks to Ron, too, for his skill in putting things together!
Response: Love working with you and Bob on those Goulds

Brittany David: Rick was great. I was looking to reframe a family heirloom. I was specific about what I wanted and preservation was important to me. Rick was the only framer who said that he could take on my project. Other framers in the area said it would be too difficult. Not only that Rick had the expertise and awareness to help suggest additional touches that made my piece look better and that will help it last longer. He was great about communicating about the specifics of the order. I was also pleased about the turn around time of the order. I will be back to see Rick for all my future framing needs.
Response: Thanks Brittany. I really appreciate your comments. It was great meeting you and working on your watercolors.

Stanley Batycki: Thank you Rick and Ron for the great job you did.The framing was museum quality I was totally blown away. Can’t stop admiring the work, again, thanks!

Taylor H: Absolutely recommend Rick for anyone needing historical artifacts framed, or anything else of value, for that matter. His customer service is excellent and the craftsmanship and dedication to his completed works is off the charts. Will absolutely use Museum Framing for my future needs.
Response: Thank you, Taylor. Glad you enjoyed the frame for your Thomas Mifflin colonial note. What a great find!

Rolf Place: I had a great experience working with Rick at Museum Framing. He is truly passionate about his work and making sure your framing project turns out exactly as you specify. I live out of state and called Rick to inquire about framing a large vintage flag. Right away he emailed me great frame recommendations and associated quotes. His end price was very fair for the quality of frame and the amazing job his framers did. Rick was always very easy to reach and kept me in the loop throughout the whole process. I can't underscore the fact that he went out of the way to make sure my frame was delivered to my home safe and sound. My framing project is truly stunning....a work of art. True to the company's name, it looks like something you'd see in a museum!!!! Thanks Rick and team!
Response: Thanks Rolf! Love Destin! Glad you liked the flag!

Amanda Bibbins: Rick did an AMAZING job with our antique map of Virginia. We are so happy with the beautiful work he did, and will definitely be coming back as our collection grows. Thank you again!
Response: Thanks Amanda. As a collector myself, I appreciate protecting historical maps, such as yours. Yours is in excellent condition!

Carlton Vollberg: This review is long overdue! I have known Rick for 26 years. I was referred to him by a prominent dealer in 1993 and over the years he has framed many documents for me. I can tell you his prices are very fair and his knowledge outstanding! I feel very comfortable using his services long distance as I have a medical practice in Chattanooga and he has done all of my professional framing as well. You will not find a more meticulous person than Rick. Thanks again!!
Response: Thanks Carlton. You have a great historical document collection

Sarah Cheseldine: Found an antique print in my attic that has been in our family for years, but needed some TLC. I noticed the great reviews this shop got and went to check it out. I was extremely impressed by the knowledge of the shop owner. He told me lots about the print that I didn’t know. The repairs were done in a little over a week and he offered a fair price. He did very professional work (the frame looked as good as new) and would recommend to anyone with antique frames or art. This guy can do anything. I have a few more things I plan on bringing by and he will have my framing business as long as I am still in the area.
Response: Thank you, Sarah! That was an incredibly beautiful print of George Washington!

Richard England: Rick did a fabulous job. I brought him two valuable pieces of artwork I purchased recently and he spent the time explaining how they would not just be displayed but also preserved. Will absolutely be returning.
Response: Thanks Rich. I am glad you enjoyed the work. It was a pleasure meeting you and your . Take care! Rick

Jack Wood Gallery: what do users think?

Adam B: Positive: QualityJack is a nice man and took the time to guide me to a first piece of poster art, a Maîtres de l'Affiche. This collection is second to none in the region and definitely worth a visit. Come with some themes and a potential budget in mind so he can guide you because there is a lot in a small space. Hope to visit and buy again.

rich prior: I’ve bought three posters from Mr. Wood. He’s friendly and knowledgeable. His gallery is quite unique in that he’s got everything from turn of the century French art nouveau to Bengals Super Bowl posters. It’s all linen mounted. It’s all in good condition. There is pretty much something there for everybody. A Cincinnati treasure.

Tim H: I've walked past this gallery many times in the past, and today I decided to step inside and browse. It was what a poster art gallery should be--it was cramped but cozy, full of curiosities, and it had that just-right stale smell that a gallery of this sort should possess. There were tons, literally tons, of gorgeous posters from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. As I browsed, I began to regret having such a small house with precious little wall space upon which to hang art. The owner was friendly and helpful and, as one would expect, very knowledgeable. The prices can be a bit steep, but this is to be expected with collectibles. This gallery is a nice addition to OTR. Now if only a proper vintage bookstore would crop up...

Julie Brazile: He was very friendly and knowledgeable

David Leland: Incredible collection of vintage (and original) posters, most from overseas. This is a must stop and see place for all, especially and true cycling enthusiasts. Tour posters, legendary cyclist from all areas.

Alex Smith: Love stopping in Jack Wood gallery whenever I am in OTR. One of a kind collection and the owner is very knowledgeable on European original prints. Highly recommend .

Brandy Vital: The first thing he said to my husband and I, "Do you have any money?" I guess we looked poor? (Because we are 30ish or because we are black...I'm not sure) It didn't get better from there so we left quickly. Only poor service we received while taking a quick vacation in Cincinnati.
Response: I apologize for leaving you with a bad impression. My question of "Do you have any money?" was in response to your query of whether I had any Eartha Kitt or Lena Horne posters? As the neon in my windows clearly indicates, and as my walls and tables attest to as well, I deal in original antique vintage posters. I have been doing this for 21 years and have built a substantial clientele in many subject areas including posters of African American performers. I showed you some of that inventory. My question was merely to qualify your level of interest and potential to purchase; nothing more, nothing less. I am sorry if I came off as rude. It was not my intention. I appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration.

Betsy Belschner: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, ValuePurchased a fabulous Art Deco poster here! The selection of posters is truly something to marvel! Love, love, love!!!!

d hanson: There's something to be said about the scale of a poster (at four by six feet for example) that really makes an impact. Jack is a wealth of information about the huge collection of vintage posters in his collection.

Alexander Smith: I have never seen such a collection! Whenever I am in OTR I love to pop in and view the expansive European collection. Great location and great pieces in the gallery!
