Elizabeth's Gone Raw: what do users think?

Michael Condor: Took my wife (a vegan) here last month for her birthday and we both had an incredible time. As a non-vegan, I thought the meals and experience were great. We enjoyed all the dishes on the prix fixe menu along with some tasty mocktails. The staff is what really made this place spectacular—so polite and friendly. Will definitely be back next year for birthday celebrations!

Caileigh Feldman: My brother took me out to dinner to celebrate my 29th birthday and we had the best meal ever! I asked in advance for a fully raw 6-course experience and my bother did the vegan 6-course, so we had fun sharing bites. We each got a drink and they were wonderful. We started with the caviar plate which is SO worth it and an experience that you’ll never forget. Each small plate of the meal was absolutely delicious and prepared with such exquisite creativity. We enjoyed every bite. The dishes are so beautiful that it feels like you are eating edible art. We had a blast chatting to the passionate waitstaff (such as Ben) throughout the meal and hearing some of the stories behind the beautiful paintings from Elizabeth herself. My brother and I agreed that this was one of the best meals of our lives. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will be back time and time again to try the different seasonal menus. The biggest thank you to Elizabeth, the fantastic Chef Francisco Hernandez and the wonderful team. Every single person made us feel so special and cared for.

Jeffrey F: Easily one of - if not the best - meals of my life, in any city, anywhere! So incredibly delicious from start to finish. Wonderful ambiance, attentive and knowledgeable wait staff - everything you could want for in a meal. Drinks were delicious, too. Whether vegan or not, this place is absolutely worth your time. Can’t wait to return and try the new seasonal menu next time.

Corrie Byers: This was our first time having a fancy 5 course meal like this and it was incredible. The menu is seasonal was just creative and delicious. Everything we had was unique and full of flavor. Each course was explained by our wonderful server with not only what it was but how it was prepared and where the food came from. The restaurant was beautiful and quaint and all the staff was phenomenal. We were visiting DC for our honeymoon and they brought out a candle in celebration. It was very pricey for us but well worth the price for the entire experience.

Jamie Howard: Impeccable service, thoughtful and delicious food! My dinner mates consisted of two vegans, one plant based, and myself an omnivore. The plating was beautiful with layers of flavor with each successful course. Ideal for a nice date night. Our favorite thing was the kale chips!!! They look pretty plain but oohwee lol. The owner took pity on us and brought us seconds after watching us pick at the crumbs in the first bowl. Will definitely be back!

Simon A: Have to say this hidden Gem in the wonderful city of DC was worth the experience! From the entryway to the ambiance upstairs in their dining space. All the waiters and waitresses were incredible, from start to finish and compliments to the chef for amazing fine dining tasting options. If you are to ever find yourself in downtown DC stop here and experience the vegan “CAVIAR”!! Yes I said it “VEGAN CAVIAR”, for a first time experience in having this delicacy I was blown away. The entire food menu from the appetizer to the main course to the dessert was incredibly sensational along with a spectacular display of each one. Can’t forget the bartender who made the most amazing Mezcal Old Fashioned using the vida organic mezcal tequila. The Smokey earth tones from the mezcal and finished with the right bitters and simple syrup, lastly with the solid rock cube in a wide mouth rocks glass thank you!!!!! To all the staff thank you for the experience as we had an amazing time and great birthday celebration in your establishment and will look forward to another dinner the next time we are in DC.

VEGZ: what do users think?

JT Mitchell: Just excellent! The Papdi Chat has a satisfying crunch to go along with well cooked chickpeas. Delicious sauce. I got the masala dosa which was not only massive but very tasty. The red chutney had an incredible flavor. Also felt like it was reasonably priced.

Megha Rao: Delicious food! The owner/chef was also a pleasure to meet. Highly recommend this local gem of a restaurant. Definitely try the medu vada and masala dosa during your visit, you won’t regret it.

Ketan Patel: A pure vegetarian Indian food place. Almost like a hole in a wall. But, excellent food. Our waitress was amazingly nice, pleasant and polite. Quick service. Highly recommend it. Would have been 5 stars if they had clean restroom!

Soraya H: This is an AdMo hidden gem, truly. Best Dosas I’ve had in DC, a great place for vegan and vegetarian options

Ronnie Sullivan: Amazing! My favorite restaurant in DC. So many vegan options of a good portion, and delicious! Accessible prices too. There is always something new I want to try. Very kind staff as well.

Trisha S: SO FREAKING GOOD. I miss home food SO much and this place hit the spot!!! So excited to have found it. Will definitely be returning many times. Note to restaurant owner: Please stay true to these flavors!!

Fancy Radish: what do users think?

Joshua Barron: Absolutely lovely high end vegan spot… the happy hour bites were delicious, the fondu was liquid heaven(!), and the mocktails were extremely flavorful. Thank you to Kara and Adam for making me feel so welcome!

Haleigh Eppler: One of the best vegan meals I’ve had. Almost everything could also be prepared in a celiac friendly form. I only managed to take pictures of about half of the dishes because we ate the others too quickly.

Krupa Shah: Perfect spot for a date night. But be ready to splurge as it is on the higher end. My favorite dish was the Peruvian potatoes - the yellow sauce was the perfect balance of flavors. The potato itself was cooked / baked to perfection. Such a fulfilling dish. The pretzel in the rutabaga fondue was not your typical bar pretzel. It was fluffy and crispy - and it melted in my mouth with every bite. The fondue was an unexpected flavor, but very much welcomed. The drinks were nothing extraordinary- but they paired well with the food. The best part of the entire meal were the desserts. We ordered the chocolate bar and Meyer lemon tart. Both were rich in flavor and smooth in texture. I was in heaven.

Archana Raju: The dishes were creative and tasted good. We really enjoyed the Peruvian potatoes, and Mushroom steak. These two items are definitely a must try. The Dan Dan noodles was a bit chewy which is normal given it’s made of whole wheat but the flavor was alright. The dishes were a bit pricey and portion size was small. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys vegan food or likes to try creative dishes!

Crystal Sings: 10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent service! Nice atmosphere/ambience! We celebrated my cousin’s birthday yesterday evening and he was very pleased. They gave us seating by the window which was nice and our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly. We ordered the whole menu and every dish we had was sooooo 😊 gooooooodddddd‼️😘 I would definitely come back. Only two suggestions…..managers/ chefs…… please add the lavender & banoffee ice cream to the dessert menu as an a la carte option. I wish I could have just had the ice cream 😋 as an option. That would have been cool! And….I wanted to order the paradise fall to go but that’s not an option🎭

#1man1year150: Easy high 4 out of 5 but they get an overall 5 for the waiter. The black gentleman that helped up was SUPER knowledgeable and just made the experience that much better. He was funny, the food was good, drinks were proper, and plating was superb, topping it off with the desserts we had was just ... perfect. Thank you for the pleasant night and great food. We arrived like well dressed peasants and ate like kings.

Mostafa Nazemi: The food portion is very small! Basically, you have to order more than 3 meals to get full which costs minimum 50$ per person. Also, the quality of the food is awful! Like the bread was so oily and salty! If you order one more bread, they cost you 3$ which is ridiculous! The service is not also good! It took more than 20 minutes for us to get our food! The restroom was out of toilet paper, but clean though! Generally, it is a huge waste of money to go to this restaurant in my opinion! Not recommend at all!

Shouk: what do users think?

Ryan Briggs: Super yummy. I stopped in for dinner, ordered the mushroom bowl over greens with hummus and falafel added; plus a cardamom chocolate chip cookie. The bowl was both tart and savory with the pickling and mushrooms. A good mixture. I was really glad that I added the falafel since this was for dinner, it made the dish feel filling and was nicely complimentary. The cookie was nice, moist and chocolaty, but I like a regular chewy chocolate chip cookie more. It was good for being vegan :) The service was good, the eating area was clean. I liked the Israeli music that was playing. No reason to not come back for more :)

Luke Chang: Restaurant layout was unique. Kiosks we’re simple to figure out. There were both indoor and outdoor seating options. 2 unisex bathrooms. Foods was delicious. Restaurant was clean. Bathroom was clean. Service and staffs were spot on. First time here, had a positive experience. Definitely recommend grabbing a bite here, especially if you’re looking for a non-meat option.

JT Mitchell: Too many great options but I settled on the Shouk Burger. The burger is meaty and has great flavor. Pickled veg adds a satisfying crunch. Pita is like a soft pillow. Hummus was so creamy it made me wanna cry. The cookie was the most average part of the meal and even so had a memorable cardamom flavor. Highly recommend.

Haleigh Eppler: I loved the plant based concept. It was a great place to take my vegan family. They also had numerous gluten free options available. I had a fried mushroom shawarma with a rice and lentil bowl. It was great. I loved the harissa Mayo on top.

Cortney Palm: Good food, fast service, cute location. Not great parking anywhere - street parking. The flavors can get annoying halfway through the meal. But otherwise it’s very good, creative and flavorful and feels healthy. I like the shouk sauce and the “chicken” made from mushrooms. The shouk burgers are good and the sweet potato fries are tasty. The cookies are pricey and I’d give the 🍪 a “B”. I love the eco friendly packaging.

Vanessa S.: Great place! We were looking for a lunch spot and I am so glad we stumbled over SHOUK. Pretty ambiance and very nice dining area. It was hard to choose a dish because everything on the menu sounds delicious. We decided to try the Mushroom shawarma, the dizengoff salad, spice fries and hummus. Everything was so good!! Hummus is amazing, great job. Highly recommend it

Sticky Fingers Diner: what do users think?

Alyssa Miron: I get overwhelmed when I find a vegan place with this many amazing options. The chick’n tenders were so good paired with a salad, and I took home some tofu “egg salad”. I’ll be back for a Buffalo chick’n wrap and all the pastries. This place is a gem!!! Very attentive service too.

Stacey Maresco: Loved the atmosphere of this place! Definite diner vibes — but 100% vegan food! We ordered a salad, the Mac & cheese and the crazy bones brownie (which was also GF). We liked the food and service was so so. Only thing that would have made this better was more attentive servers. Vibe was great (so was the dessert!)

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: There’s this new’ish Vegan spot on H street in N.E. D.C. The moment I heard about it, I made plans to go!! I went, they have REALLY tasty food, & I ate well. MY experience however…left me feeling unwelcome & slighted (see my customer service segment). . Where I am: @stickyfingersdiner . Location Reviewed: 406 H St., N.E. Washington D.C. . Menu Includes: All Day Breakfast; French Toast, Pancakes, Potatoes, Seitan & Waffles, Impossible Sausage Croissant, Tofu, Corn “Beef” Cabbage, Vegan Calamari, Buffalo Wraps, Pasta Salads, Beyond Burger, Baked Goods, Candy, Beverages, Cocktails, & Shakes. . Items Reviewed: Their Seitan $ Waffles (with 100% maple syrup & hot sauce $14). The fried chicken like Seitan…STAMP!! Crispy & well seasoned!! The waffles were DELICIOUS! Their French Onion Soup (with crostini & smoked Violife slices $8). STAMP!! Flavorful, mild & warm!! Their Oyster Mushroom Calamari (with marinara & a lemon wedge $10). STAMP!! Fried to perfection, you may not even know that these are mushrooms!! Their Roasted Potatoes (with gravy & garlic aioli-$1, $5.75). STAMP!! Undeniably tasty, especially with the gravy & aioli!! Their Chocolate Tiramisu-$8, & Their, non-alcoholic Chai Lemon Fizz-$6). STAMP both of these items!! Delectable, moist tiramisu, & that superbly refreshing fizz!! Get these!! . Customer Service: Bluntly, I wasn’t greeted, or welcomed when I walked in. I was uncomfortably stared at after I greeted the host, I had to ask about seating & how the ordering process worked. So when the patrons that sat next to me were welcomed, asked if it were their first time there, and had the ordering process explained to them w/o asking, I was disappointed. Nobody said anything wrong to me, and I was serviced promptly, but the extra care & concern that those customers received should be standard for all customers. . Online Navigation: Simple . Parking: Rough/Metered/Enforced . Recommendations: The Soup, Potatoes, Tiramisu, Calamari, & definitely the Fizz!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️=STAMP ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️➕=A.DELICIOUS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️=DELICIOUS ⭐️⭐️⭐️=DECENT ⭐️⭐️=PASS ⭐️=NAH #Bigschlimsreviews

Harmony Hitchner: The food came out looking like an ad! Beautiful, but according to the family it was just as tasty as it looked! I didn’t get a pic of other food because it was gone before I knew it. The service was beyond amazing! Very sweet , and very helpful staff. I just wished they had more allergy friendly food. But overall, would absolutely bring friends and family back to eat there!!

Zack Bloom: This place is unbelievable. The perogie are so good! The poutine was also shockingly great. Don’t miss the Chocolate Egg Cream (no real egg involved of course, it’s all vegan!).

Linda Zh: Average to below average vegan food. The seitan “chicken” was decent but the waffle was soggy. Funfetti cake slice was dense and one-note with its sweetness. The mac and cheese was extremely disappointing - the mac was very thick and flavorless, and it was not adequately coated by the cheese sauce. When we were seated, the hostess mentioned that there’s a 20% service fee included with each order. Fine, but then there’s an additional tip section in the checkout, and the 20% option is the default option. I wouldn’t mind tipping except there’s really no service at all. You scan the QR code to open the menu and order online, and then someone brings the food to you. There’s no one to check on you or refill water. Not a good experience.

L Ram: Can we please get a Fare Well in Atlanta! I’m so thankful I had several vegan options when visiting D.C., I knew after reading reviews I had to visit Fare Well and I’m so glad I did Very small but charming diner serving breakfast all day (Wednesday – Sunday), they also have a bar for people interested in adult beverages. Saturday and Sunday they have a brunch menu. I visited late Sunday around 3pm and there was not wait but it was pretty full inside. I was dining solo and unfortunately couldn’t try too many items, I definitely wanted to try the Buffalo Cauliflower ($12) and it was SO GOOD! I cleaned the bowl and really wish I had this recipe. Its spicy whipped cashew and cauliflower dip served with soy and sheet free tortilla chips. For my entrée I ordered Chilaquiles ($13). It was very filling and a large portion, I couldn’t finish my dish. I loved all of the ingredients and thought it was flavorful but did add some hot sauce since I like my food to have a little spice. The Chilaquiles included tofu scramble, black beans, poblanos, roasted tomato rojo sauce and cilantro crema served with roasted potatoes. I also added avocado ($3). Service was okay, my food was served with a smile which I appreciate.

Vikram Singh: One of the best vegan spots in DC. I had the Perogies with sweet potato poutine and Oreo milkshake. Everything was delicious! I’m just sad it took me this long to get here.

NuVegan Cafe: what do users think?

Jasmine: Godel was one of the friendliest cashiers I’ve ever met! He needs a $100 raise, like now. This was my first time visiting and he was a great introduction to this restaurant. The portions were generous which I highly appreciated because although it was expensive, it made me feel as though I got my money’s worth. Anything less would feel a bit like a rip off. The food was sooo good that I had to remind my self to breathe while I was eating. Had enough to devour the next day for breakfast (because I couldn’t wait till lunch). As a vegetarian foodie from the south, I 100% approve this place. The ambience here was beautiful. It was so nice to see so many black people dining in and enjoying vegan food! I love what this place stands for and what it’s doing for our community!!! ✊🏽❤️

Ankita Naithani: Really nice vegan cafe with entrees and hot/cold side dishes to choose from. You can choose to have a side dish with your entree or simply just take an entree as every dish is individually priced which gives a lot to flexibility to everyone and something to bear in mind while you order! We love their vegan drumsticks and always go back for those and their tofu side dishes are well made too!

Nils Hünerfürst: Was at the NuVegan Cafe with my wife and kids. Everyone enjoyed their food. The Black Bean Burger was well done and all the sides look well crafted. I didn’t liked the loud music.

Nancy Cosner: I got chicken drummies, okra, and Mac and cheese. The potions are huge. This will make several meals. Everything is very tasty and delicious. The wait staff were very helpful. The facilities were spotless. My first visit. Will surely return.

Leila Bournes: Generous portions could easily feed 3 people. I love the mac, collards, sweet potatoes. Everything is awesome. Ask for a sample to try before buying it if youve never had it.

Fab Dzul: Extremely delicious food, seasoned to perfection. The location is ok cared for and friendly staff. Worth a shot

Mondy Telfort: I really wanted to like this due to all the great reviews, but I was not a fan. I’m giving some more stars because the staff was very nice, the atmosphere was great, and I loved the music. I tried the Mac and Cheese, Chicken, and Collard Greens. They all tasted like they had a boatload of salt in it. I couldn’t even finish a decent portion of my meal because the taste of all that sodium was overpowering the food. It wasn’t hot either. The chicken also had a pretty rubbery texture and I didn’t feel like it imitated real chicken as much as some other vegan chicken I’ve tried. It kind of felt like I was chewing on elastic the way the pieces were getting caught in my teeth. I also tried the Cinnamon Roll which was probably the upside of my meal. But, even that tasted like a mound of sugar and pretty dry/hard. I could’ve done without the meal, personally. Though, I still think it’s good to have this option for those who are vegan or not. I just wish they didn’t overcompensate on the salt/sugar.

DM Mills: Their food was really good. We’re from Richmond and were in Dc for the day. When I looked up vegan restaurants NuVegan came up. I’ve eaten their food from the one in Richmond. It was really good. It was my husband’s first time eating there. He was really impressed with the food. We ate there and got food to go. It was just as good as the one in Richmond.

Steve Smith: Solid 4.5 rating! Interesting vegan restaurant that allows you to sample the food before ordering which is very helpful! The food is behind a glass case, cafeteria style in metal bins, and the workers fill take out containers with the food you order. The servings are generous and neither of my 18 year old twins could finish their dinners. One of my sons rated it 5 stars and the other 4 stars… wish there was a 1/2 star rating as well = 4.5 stars. We are visiting DC and this beautiful city has no shortage of amazing vegetarian/vegan eateries which NuVegan Cafe is among! PS the Vegan Chick’n Drummies were the highlight of their NuVegan Cafe experience.

Y Dzi: Always a go-to for good vegan take-out! I like the food and the community the shops and works here. The best French fries. I really like their avocado sandwich on a spinach wrap. I like their fried chicken with potato salad and kale. I enjoy their steak and cheese, which is a lot to consume. Their drinks are good. Nothing is too greasy or saturated in anything, or over seasoned. Just all-around very very good to eat their. Plus there is a nice seating area in the back outside. Please go and get this good food made by good people with good energy!

Jalan W B: Yummy! Went out of my way today to get Senbeb. I had the special curry mushroom chicken. So delish and healthy. Love this neighborhood staple.

Citra Simms: Delicious vegan dishes !!! Very well seasoned and good portions as well as reasonable price. Their logo is a very attractive Egyptian looking art of a woman holding a fruit basket( if I remember correctly) which shows their values. The women were very nice and welcoming. They were out of few things but all the dishes and sides were delicious.

Thuy Dinh: Who knew vegan food could be so good! I ordered the jerk beef and a side of kale and collard green. The flavor was absolutely perfect. The tea was tasty too, and just the right amount of sweet. The cashier was a bit kurt but overall still friendly. Food was very quick. Super happy I gave this a try. Can’t wait to come back!!!

Teneele B.: This place is a real gem! Such a warm vibe upon walking in, and exceptional service. The food is cooked with love, and you can taste it. I had the vegan crab cakes with collards and plantains. Will definitely be coming back!

WanderLust: No major changes in appearance since three years ago, yet for the breakfast grub is on point. Regarding the scramble, please add some veggies to it like peppers, onion, spinach or something. Would gladly pay more for extras if option. Customer service awesome!

inner-net: It has been a long time since I have been in Senbeb Cafe. A friend of mine from New York suggested to go here to eat. I was reluctant but wanted to give them another chance. We ordered and both of us were disappointed. The food was very bland, over-cooked and definitely needed seasoning. The sweet potato side dish looked like it came from a can and had no seasoning. The Crispy Portabella was tasteless and soggy. Added to this was the individual behind the counter who had a "I do not want to be here" vibe and this energy contributed to our overall not so favorable experience. Now I KNOW why I did not want to eat at this establishment...it has not changed. The food is definitely overpriced and not worth the money they charge. This is unfortunate because I did anticipate to continue to support them but Senbeb has lost me as a customer...period.

Beefsteak: what do users think?

Dewita Soeharjono: This is not an exclusive vegetarian place. Instead those who eats meat can eat a combo of piles up of veggies with egg or fish or even chicken sausage. I ordered Tuna Up today. It has raw veg, cooked veg, a not of tuna and poached egg. Eat something different today. Love it! And also love chef Jose Andres with all his humanitarian work

Johan Karlsteen: Fantastic and healthy food! Not very often I put those two words in the same sentence but it happened at Beefsteak. Cool concept where they boil your vegetables and add protein, rice/noodles and sauce. Kombucha on tap was great too!

Sisi Koleva (siscenceto): Delicious and affordable! My friend and I had the lentil curry and it was delicious! She added mozzarella and I added seaweed so it was a bit of a fusion (confusion) meal, but it’s great to be able to add and remove things freely. I am definitely going back!

Nicole Coomber: I was happy to discover a Beefsteak in Foggy Bottom. The restaurant combines eating healthy & decadence with luxurious vegetable ingredients, and amazing extras like salt-cured salmon and poached egg. I also love the juice blends, and they now have craft kombucha. It’s more than just salad, too, since you can get your veggies steamed in a bowl.

Chris Smith: Man this place is amazing. A vegetarians dream place. You can build your own bowl or get some of the pictured "burgers". Tons of flavor and very affordable. The house made juice is also amazing.

Suji Mao: This is not your typical vegetarian restaurant. They actually have flavorful food that is healthy too. I had the squash bowl with everything on it that you normally get. If you want you can customize your dish to your liking.

Richa Bhatt: This place is so good. I have never eaten in the location before, I normally grab take out and take it back to work but I have ordered the Faux Joe (not pictured) and The Goat. Both are so good. Both of these dishes were so fresh and delicious and the price is so reasonable. Additionally, the folks that work here are so nice as well. I really love this place.

MiMo OmEarth: Their Eden and Mushroom bowls are delicious... I love this spot! 🤩💗🧘🏿

Equinox Restaurant: what do users think?

Joshua Wiley: Went here for one of my many birthday dinners. As a new vegetarian this place definitely had a menu with me in mind. I was stuffed when I left. We had the menu with five courses and enjoyed every single one of them. Amazing. Would definitely go again, don’t know the price because i didn’t pay. 😇

Archana Raju: This place has been on my must try restaurants list forever, and finally made it on my birthday. We tried the five course meal. While each dish was carefully thought through and well presented, I think the beet salad didn’t really work (it was bitter) and grilled eggplant was a bit bland. Though I don’t typically enjoy mushrooms as much, I was blown by the Hen of mushrooms dish, and absolute winner. Overall, I would recommend this place!

Sunny Sanghani: Enjoyed the vegan brunch menu; lots of food and all tasted great.

Angela Su: We came for restaurant week and it was a great deal! Loved the plant based options. We had to wait 15 min for our table after we arrived on time for our reservation but it was worth it once we were seated. The mushroom dish was delicious and the portions for all courses were huge. Definitely ended the meal full and satisfied.

Henry Jones: A friend of my family told me ages ago to eat sometime at Equinox. I finally did this evening and am so glad. I had the truffled macaroni and cheese to begin, which was served in a mini cast iron vessel and tasted of cheese and herbs in a way that I could never achieve at home. Then I had the fennel-spiced Mediterranean turbot filet. The staff were very proud of the turbot—one saw it as he walked past and said, “oh you ordered the turbot,” with a big smile. If I were on the staff of a place that served food like this, I would be very proud, too. The turbot was meaty, slightly flaky, and golden on top. It was served on a bed of spinach, a carrot, roasted heart of palm, and braised endive, and there was an orange sauce. It was garnished with fried rings which I think were potatoes and there were red berries, too. I was there for an early dinner, having planned for a long afternoon at the National Gallery followed by early dinner before the final leg of a train trip from NYC to Virginia. The staff made sure the timing was right for me to get to the train and that I knew how to get to Union Station. What thoughtful people and exquisite food. I can hardly wait to eat at Equinox again.

Celal Gulluoglu: Fine dining? Please first repair the failing of the bathroom. Service was below average. They were carrying the beverage with their bare hands and holding the soup bowls on top of the bowls. Not even under it. Automatically added gratuity which is not written at anywhere. Full price charge for the kids under 10 years old? Tasting brunch menu was definitely not worth the price. Desserts were horrible. They were literally sliced protein bar, store bought mini cupcakes and coconut bites and they call it Brandi’s assorted desserts. Felt like scammed. Will never return 👎

The Girls: The zero-waste concept sounds great but didn’t see it happening within the menu. The apps and first courses were better than the main dishes. The dust devil drink is fab. Oddly, many of the plants were plastic. And the chairs stored in the ladies’ room makes it NOT wheelchair accessible. The kind and attentive servers were grand.

HipCityVeg: what do users think?

Jasmine: OH MY!!! Best sweet potato fries ever. I had PLNT burger earlier that day and they don’t have anything on Hip City Veg. I truly believe this was the best vegan burger I’ve ever had. The burger was very flavorful. However, the nuggets are my only complaint. They were too tiny to not come with more. It felt like I ordered them off of the kids menu. Please make your nuggets bigger or include more! Otherwise, I’m a very happy camper. Side note: Come to Boston… pretty please with a cherry on top?

Patti Dybdahl: There is not a lot of seating. There were some rude ladies in there sitting next to each other taking up 4 seats for the two of them taking forever so others couldn’t take a seat. Point there, not a lot of seating. We are not Vegan but wanted to try it. The smokehouse burger was good. Chicken nuggets were good too. Sweet potato fries were also good. Kale lemonade was good and the fruit punch was tasty. Overall food was good but I thought it was expensive. I thought the staff was friendly and helpful. I’d try this again during warmer weather when I don’t mind taking it to go and eating outside.

Kevin Kato: I’m glad my daughter is vegan, I’m not but it gave me the opportunity to eat here. Otherwise I never would have searched it up! Awesome burgers and sweet potato fries! The drinks were good too, Kevin(staff) recommended the kale lemonade glad he did, it was delicious. Good food made fresh, the fries really crispy, and the staff were really friendly too!

Alejandro Nuñez-Jimenez: Delicious healthy fast food. Both the Udom Noodle Salad and the BFG smoothie were delicious (and refreshing for a hot summer day in DC). Even on a Sunday, the place was relatively busy at Noon. There are not many seats, so you may have to take it to go. Pricing is fair, not particularly cheap. The staff was correct. I would put it on the top of my list for healthy quick bites.

Sabrina Drew: AMAZING!! As a vegan, it’s always great to find places like these when traveling. The atmosphere was very nice, and the food was phenomenal. I would try everything on the menu if I could!

Crystal Sings: I wish I would have gotten the names of the staff at this restaurant on Sunday, November 14th. This evening staff was awesome 😎 all of the staff this evening was super helpful and outgoing. This was my first time dining here and my experience was great 😊 Thank you Sunday evening staff!!!! I will be back 😍

The Shameless Foodie: The best vegan burgers/sandwiches I’ve ever had. Honestly, could be one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had, vegan or not. I highly recommend the Crispy HipCity Ranch sandwich. It tastes like a fried chicken sandwich, and the sauce they have on it is delicious. And it’s still crispy after driving to my destination before eating it. The Disco Chick’n is also good. It’s a grilled chicken sandwich option with garlic aioli on it. Also very good, but my favorite is still the crispy HipCity Ranch. I got their sweet potato fries too - absolutely delicious. Crispy, crunchy, sweet, and soft on the inside. Plus it comes with 2 sauces of your choice. I recommend one of them be the sriracha aioli for a little kick. Also, try their kale lemonade. It pretty much just tastes like lemonade but it is just the right amount of sweet and very refreshing. I highly recommend it and would go way out of my way to come here. Solid 5 stars.

YOUNG-i The GOD: Before today I haven’t been here since they first opened. Glad to see the menu has been extended. First of all the cashier Jasmine was excellent. I forgot my mask in the car and she flew me in with a fresh one. Food came out fast and hot. Nuggets we’re on point and the sauce. Not usually fan of these type of fries but they were ok. Had the turmeric drink that was a1 also real light not too sweet.

Chaia Georgetown: what do users think?

Emma Rose Wooten: Fantaaaastic and delicious fast-casual vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free food!!! I got one mushroom taco and one sweet potato taco – sweet potato is definitely the best. The girl who took our order was super friendly, and our food came out within 5 minutes of ordering. Just be aware that there is very little seating inside so you’ll probably have to take it to go and eat outside.

Vikram Seshadri: One of the best Vegetarian and Vegan restaurants I have visited. Must try the Brussel Sprouts Quesadilla. Loved their Herbal and Green tea as well. Ton of options and definitely will recommend to anyone who is in DC.

Mario Morales: Very interesting but healthy and delicious. All vegan options but with so much flavors. So good! We had a variety of tacos and all were so good. I had to order seconds! Staff was friendly and the girl behind the kitchen counter was very nice and helpful.

Devin Boe: Overall pretty good tacos, and I love the idea of a plant-based taco place. The sweet potato tacos are great, but the asparagus tacos were not good, both texture and flavor wise. The black beans with crema are tasty, but could have used more jalapeno. This location has a nice patio to eat on right outside by the canals, great for nice weather! Also, service is excellent. The people who work there are quite kind and friendly!

Amy Suchodolski: Fantastic vegan & vegetarian taco shop in Georgetown. The tomatillo gazpacho was cool and refreshing. Hibiscus tea was great. Tacos are delicious.

mithilesh shivapuram: The tacos are one of best and fresh of all.I can make suggestion of introducing some different tortilla varieties would be great

Pow Pow: what do users think?

Carlisa Derrick: Coming from out of town, I wanted to try some local eateries. Wanted some Asian inspired food and Google sent me here. The general chicken is delicious! Very flavorful but the Buffalo Mozzarella balls!!!! Wow I had to go back to the site to make sure it was indeed vegan! Not sure how they did it but sheesh! It was so delicious! A must have!!!

Taylor Reynolds: For lovers of Asian food, this was absolutely delicious & did not disappoint! Clean, quiet, and a chill experience coupled with good food. 100% plant based & flavorful! Glad we were able to find this place to fit our lifestyle needs.

Kemba Esmond: The vegan dining experience here was quite tasty. Pow Pow included very creative menu options and the food was well seasoned and delicious.

Jon: This restaurant closes at 9pm. We arrived after a long trip and called at 815 informing of our arrival. They said come by 8:30pm - and we did. When we arrived the restaurant was as empty and we were refused entry. The owner should be aware that this is ridiculous. Entire group of 7. We were asked to order instead. Do yourself a big favor and go elsewhere.

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: This spot came across my feed ONCE and it managed to vividly grab my attention!! The literal colors infused in this food drew me in!! So I decided to go check out @eatpowpow !! Located on 1253 H St, N.E. you can’t miss their Pow Pow signage!! This is an Asian fusion spot with recipes from Japan, Korea, and Taiwan...pretty innovative I thought. So I stroll in there ready to order, was partially greeted, and then politely asked if I was there to pick up an order. After to told them no, it was explained to me that I have to order online, not in store. That was oxymoronic to me, I’m here let me order, and a tad bit inconvenient. This establishment lost 2 sets of customers with this rule...they left as I was standing there online ordering. Nonetheless the food was BOMB!! Their appetizers include Miso soup, Sichuan dumplings, and their Firecracker fingers which are plant based chicken fingers tossed in a spicy sauce. I copped two appetizers their Trolley fries (pictured-hancut fries with kimchi, Korean ketchup, togorashi mayo, cashew cheddar, nori, and scallions $6). I will NEVER forget these fries, they were that good and as long as they are in business...I’m snatching them up!! Savory, spicy, crunchy...EVERYTHING!! I also got their Taiwanese fried Buffalo mozzarella (pictured-fried cashew cheese croquettes with Korean ketchup). If you didn’t these were vegetarian, you wouldn’t know these were vegetarian!! Like that!! Especially dipped into that sauce!! Ok for entrees they have a number of bowls where you can pick your rice, and protein (please see their simplified menu). I chose their K-town bbq bowl (pictured-Korean bbq grilled plant based chicken, black beans, tomato, pineapple kimchi, cilantro, fried shallots, with sesame drizzle $12 for a large). This meal didn’t disappoint either. The blend of colorful flavors had my palate awestruck!! A truly delightful meal. I also got a watermelon Kombucha...I’m not a fan. Customer service was ok, not the best, parking is on H street so good luck, but the establishment was squeaky clean. I’m geeking for some more as I write this, I’m going back!! That’s it. #powpowdc #kimchi #cashewcheese #deliciousfood #bigschlimsreviews

ur vegan guid e: Amazing unique vegan food. I can’t wait to try more of their menu. They don’t accept cash. Such a shame… so many people don’t have access to bank accounts. I guess the restaurant is strictly for people who are more privileged than that. Always sad when a vegan restaurant wins at being ethical to animals but is uncaring about ethics in relation to humans. This is a carry out location only, so no restrooms available. Also, I wasn’t able to speak to an employee before ordering to ask questions about the menu.

Kimi Pelchat: SO GOOD! Has the general bowl with half rice and half salad. DANG. i can’t wait to come back!

ELife Restaurant (Everlasting Life Vegan Restaurant): what do users think?

K R: So I’m not vegan but I’m lactose intolerant and I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ate. The chicken filet tasted like chicken. The mac and cheese was creamy, seasoned, and didn’t have the weird after taste of other dairy free cheeses. The cheesecake was sweet and creamy and I was impressed. It’s definitely a takeout spot so expect to get your food and leave or enjoy it in the car because there’s no where to sit. Other than that the food is bomb!

Ariel Dunn: If you are looking for a reason to eat here, I hope this review gives you that reason. The best vegan “soul”food I have ever had! You can also warm it up the next day and it’s still delicious. That gives them 5 ⭐️ in my book! I ordered Curry chicken, original Mac & cheese, and collard greens.

Asa Barbour: I appreciate this jewel in the county that I grew up. It’s certainly one of a kind, generational word of mouth restaurant with a tight loyal customer base community. They also sell very good reads and handcrafted jewelry/clothing and natural skin care. Pros: Black Owned Health Forward Culturally Responsive 100% Vegan Community focused Multifaceted Bookstore Sit down / Stage ready Friendly Authentic staff Cons: Not Organic Hodgepodge atmosphere Unprofessional aesthetic All in al I love this place, only wish they’d modernize a bit to keep up with what their market needs.

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: Looking for some guilt free soul food? I got a spot for you @eliferestaurant will feed your heart, soul, and mind with hearty, savory, healthy, all vegan food. They have locations at 1231 Good Hope Rd S.E., Washington D.C.( inside the Anacostia Arts Center), 341 Cedar St., N.W. Washington D.C., and the location,I went to, at 9185 Central Ave., Capitol Heights Maryland. This spot has a diverse menu that rotates daily. For instance, on Monday they’ll have Chicken fillet, varying flavors of drumettes, Curried chicken, spaghetti casserole, rosemary tofu, fried chicken patties, seaweed wrapped fish patties, and original or cashew Mac n cheese, as entrees for the day. They also have rotating sides like Kale greens, collard greens, candied yams, battered cauliflower, green cabbage, beans, and brown rice on their menu for Monday’s. Again their entree menu changes daily, however their sides menu generally stays the same, and I see why with their deliciously dope dairy free, Mac n cheese’s they have!! I ordered from their Wednesday menu and got the eggplant Parmesan entree (pictured $15.50) with their signature original Mac n cheese, and yams. The entree left more to be desired since I am a eggplant enthusiast. Their Yams and Mac have always been delectable, and if you have not tried these items before...they are a must have. I also got their infamous maple drumettes (pictured $5). Geesh Louise these things are tasty!! Rich in flavor and I swear you wouldn’t know they weren’t real chicken!! Last but not least I had their vegan chocolate cake (pictured $5). It was moist, tasteful, and dense with chocolate!! Their customer service was attentive, and welcoming, I had not one issue at all, although I wasn’t in this particular spot during peak hours. Parking was kind of rough at this location via construction happening in the area. Overall this spot is a must go to...consistently!! That’s it. **These establishments are Covid compliant**. #foodie #vegan #healthylifestyle #dmvfoodie #veganmacandcheese #everlastinglife #firstbite #goodeats #cheapeats #blackowned #yams #eggplant #desert #vegandrumsticks #maryland #pgcounty #resturants #bigschlimsreviews

Busboys and Poets: what do users think?

Tina Marbury: My group is visiting from Ohio for a conference. The restaurant is pleasingly eclectic in its decor. The atmosphere was quaint. The server was pleasant and smile with authenticity as she assisted the three of us. The food was served hot and was pleasing plated. The taste of the good was amazing. The seasoning of the catfish, greens and cheddar and jalapeño grits was perfect. I could eat here every day.

Beverlyn Salva: Boyfriend and I were looking for breakfast to eat and we choose to go here. Very unique atmosphere. Love how they incorporated the bookstore & dinning together. Although the service we got was not what we expected. We order our drinks then later ordered our entrées. We get our food and both of our food was lukewarm and my fries was COLD (didn’t eat it). In addition, our server never checked on how we are doing and gave us what we requested which was just sugar for our coffee. Manager was walking around doing table touches and we never got touched. Our server then asked “how was everything” after we put our plate aside and decided enough is enough. Maybe if we come back it’ll be different but being our FIRST time eating there, we won’t come back. So if you’re looking for good food with good service this won’t be it or maybe it’ll be different. Who knows.

Erika L Zamora: Loved this place! 1st time in DC and heard this was a great place to eat and shop for books. They were right! Staff was friendly and the energy was Perfect. I had the cheeseburger and some nachos- both were delicious. I tried the cauliflower bites and was pleasantly surprised! I asked our waitress what drink she recommended since I liked sweet drinks. She brought over a DC water and I ended up having 3. Bought some postcards, stickers, a jigsaw puzzle and a book. Would definitely visit again!

Destinee Douglas: This was a really nice place ! As you wait too can check out their book store . Had so many different wonderful and colorful books. We sat at the bar so we wouldn’t have to wait . We had ebony as our waitress. She was very sweet . As you can see in the photos there are two pics of soup. Norge the same ( wild rice vegetable soup) but one is a cup and one is a bowl! If you get the bowl you’ll likely be full before you even get your entree. But the soup was delicious and flavorful ! I definitely recommend that. Then I ordered the shrimp and grits ! Absolutely delicious. & I love how they has asparagus in it . Never had shrimp and grits with that in it. The shrimp were big & it was a nice portion . My friend got the chicken and shrimp pasta . It was kind of spicy but good as well! We both ordered their orange Juice too and you definitely want to because it’s really fresh. It gets made right in front of your eyes with a machine they have at the bar . Literally squeezes the oranges 😆 My cousin ordered a burger . Didn’t get a chance to take a pic but it was good . Last but not least we topped it off with their desert . A banana pudding I think with ice cream. It was good 😩 we were stuffed ! Lol

Peter Schwarzenbach: Good spot for a cozy breakfast. Prices are a bit steeper than expected but friendly wait staff and prompt courteous attention was always offered. My eggs where a tad overcooked but by no means bad. Would recommend for a unique and tasty experience

Aditi Rajvanshi: This place has amazing fresh food available at an affordable price. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options as well! Would definitely recommend if you love flavorful breakfast.

Oyster Oyster: what do users think?

Andrew Perederiy: Amazing vibes & ambiance. Service was so friendly. One of those feelings you get when you meet a stranger but feels like you’ve known for a while. Food was original, not group-think ideas, and just well-done and creative. Awesome homage to local farmers. Only qualm was the maple cake & persimmon dessert fell a little flat. Will definitely come again once the menu cycles through.

Christine S: One of the most inspiring, refreshing, and memorable tasting menus in DC! And for the price of $75, it’s an absolute steal compared to some of the $200+ tasting menus I’ve tried. I had the 8 course, late summer harvest menu, and it was very difficult to pick my favorite out of the bunch. I loved the innovative use of ingredients— from the celeriac stuffed with tofu to the pickled oyster perched atop a watermelon— all were fantastic and highlighted the use of seasonal and local items. I’m definitely going to remember the corn brushed with blueberry glaze - I could have eaten a whole cob! I’ve tried other fine dining, vegetable-forward or vegetarian tasting menus, and my issue with those have been the extensive use of nuts or carb-heavy items. This is not the case with Oyster Oyster! And you end up very full afterward. I can’t wait to come back and see how their menu evolves with the seasons. Service was also fantastic, incredibly friendly, and unpretentious! Edit: I enjoyed my experience so much that I came back soon after to try their 9-course “Cornucopia” early-fall menu. The chefs do a phenomenal job of capturing the essence of the current season in each course. “Cozy” would be the best word to describe their latest fall menu. Oyster Oyster is one of the rare places I’ve eaten at that I felt was truly original.

dilianna bustillos: Incredible experience! Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. My husband and I really enjoyed celebrating our anniversary here! They made it extra special with a few surprises here and there. Thank you! (Highly recommend the wine paring BTW)

Alex Bansleben: Went to Oyster Oyster for our anniversary and had a great experience overall. The food was delicious, the setting was very cozy and intimate, the service was amazing and the staff were all very nice and helpful. We will definitely be coming back!

Jason Grill: Simply one of the best restaurants in DC. Oyster Oyster serves what they term an "Oystertarian" tasting menu which is vegetarian with oysters focusing on seasonal and local ingredients. The food is exceptional, not just for vegetarian food, but for any type of food. The service is wonderful with each dish coming with its own unique presentation and explanation. The restaurant is small and reservations are hard to get, plan to make one at least a month in advance.

Lynn Hallarman: Possibly the best vegan menu we have had. The flavors were divine. Imaginative but not fussy. Plate presentation was fun, unpretentious. The menu reflected the restaurant’s ethos favoring local vendors. We had the wine pairing - also thoughtful, fun and delicious. The space design is pleasant and inviting. Plenty of room between tables. Bathroom was super clean. Staff was attentive and efficient. Music was not obnoxious. We left with a menu we can plant in our garden. What! :) We hope to return many times.

Eve: Oyster Oyster’s seasonal pre fixed menu was delicious! I took my cousin who was concerned we would have to get pizza after because she didn’t think a full on vegetarian 6-8 course (can’t remember how many courses) would fill us up. Let’s just say, she was wrong. My favorite was the mushroom and potatoes dish. Nicely cooked with local seasonal mushrooms. I would DEFINITELY recommend the drink pairing menu. It just goes with everything and without it, I may have had a different experience…☺️ so even if you’re a meat eater, don’t write off Oyster Oyster.

Busboys and Poets: what do users think?

Sonya Williams (Wildflowers and Hooyahs): Made a thirty min trip to try this location and it was def worth it. The waitress, Phoenix, was phenomenal! We also loved all of our food. The Mediterranean burger with lamb was such great combination of flavors. We shared the pancakes and French toast because our six year old couldn’t finish it. We had plenty of leftovers. My husband ordered the egg and cheddar burger and said it was pretty good. I loved the art and the vibe of the place. We arrived around 1030 and there was barely anyone there on Sunday. But literally when we left at 1120, the entire building seemed packed to capacity. Glad we came early for brunch! Well, three locations down and plenty more to try. This chain has a reputation of having great quality food, drinks, art, books and id family friendly. But could be great for a group of friends or lover.

Fahad Aqeel: I really enjoyed my meal here. The service was great and the place had nice vibes. Wish they could have bottomless coffee for breakfast though, and not keep paying $4 for a fresh cup.

Jeremy Smith: Had to mask up and show our vax cards. Whatever I was hungry. The person who seated us was super nice and awesome. Our waitress forgot her name at first was cool but that changed quickly. Brought us our water and didn’t ask if we wanted something else to drink. Took our order: Vegan BBQ ‘chicken’ bites. (I was curious) I’m not vegan but they were freaking delicious. Wanted more water because sauce on the bites was kinda spicy. Food came out and we asked that person for more water and they said sure be right back. They NEVER came back. The waitress that took our order walked around dining room and asked other guest how their meal was NEVER came back to us until we finished. The burger I got was delicious and on point, one of the best I’ve ever had. The service sucked. At first I thought it was race then I realized I’m wearing a hoodie with American flag patches on both sleeves I earned doing GORUCK events. I believe that was the cause of the poor service we received. Willing to go back and give them a second try however I’m not going out of my way to get back there.

Nadja E. Solis: Love the vibe, and friendly staff. Very cool place. I didn’t like anything I ordered but it seems to be an isolated incident. I ordered a spicy latte which was supposed to include caramel yet it didn’t tasted sweet at all. I also ordered eggs Benedict with hard boiled eggs but had to return it because egg were runny, waited over 20 minutes (all my friends had finished eating and the table were cleaned by servers) when my food re-arrived only to have the eggs even more runny than the first time and the potatoes cold. Not my day I guess.

Sahar Bayounis: This was without a doubt THE best chicken panini I ever tried. Hands down. It was so juicy and tender, unlike other panini sandwiches where the bread is so tough and dry. The chicken is mixed with chipotle sauce that’s just heavenly. 🤤 I highly highly recommend trying it whenever you visit Busboy and Poets. Also, get some sweet potato fries on the side instead of regular French fries. It’s very difficult to cook the perfect sweet potato fries and get them so crispy. This place knew how to cook them!!! Unfortunately there was no poetry when I came this Friday, but I’m definitely giving it another try in the future. ♥️

Alexander O'Neill: A Glover Park staple. One of our favorite places to grab Pho and a bunch of other delicious options. Try the vegan pho made with burdock broth and black pepper tofu!

BRWND Butter: Can never go wrong with some good tasty pho with a side of crab meat rolls. This weather lately definitely calls for some nice traditional pho. Follow us on IG for more food pics: @BrwndButter

Anne Becker: We ordered take out today but were able to dine in with a group of 7 people, some of them visually impaired. Food was delicious. Staff is super friendly and ready to assist in any way they can. Highly recommend the place!

Elaf Al: The best pho and banhi mi in the city. Great quality food. My go-tos are the crispy chicken banhi mi and build your own beef bone broth pho bowl with eye of round x2, mushrooms, and salt and pepper tofu. I’m obsessed with the broth and sometimes just order a cup as well :)

Joe Nicol: eat here at least once a week, the banh mi is unmatched, so many options for vegans/vegetarian without compromising taste or quality in the slightest — my favorite quick dinner spot in the neighborhood

Vidhi K M: I love this place. By far one of the best banh mi sandwiches I’ve had. They have other Vietnamese food. The place is nice and the food is reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend going here.

Charles Jones: Disappointing meal. The Pho I was served had little flavor. The veggies were raw. It did not have the depth of real Vietnamese Pho, but rather seemed like something I would defrost in the microwave.

Sunrise Caribbean Restaurant: what do users think?

Sidd O.: First of all I am Caribbean so I know good traditional food when I taste it! This food was soooo good! Delicious and flavored to perfection! I loved everything, Even the guy who I placed my order with. He was hilarious and we had a few laughs as he fixed my order. This is my new favorite Caribbean spot.

Anne C: Great tasting Caribbean food. Traditional menu items include curries, jerk, stews… vegan options available. Must haves—-Bussup shot, roti, and fish … holiday treats —-fruit/black cakes are delicious, pastelles are savory so do good…and all the holiday drinks are delicious…sorrel and ginger beer are a must have.

Shana Bayton: First, don’t hesitate. Just go. I’ve never been here before, but they were sooo nice. I never tried vegan Jamaican food before 😍😍 I got some vegan meat that’s looked like brown stew beef and vegan mac and cheese with rice and peas. And that strawberry lemonade is 10/10

Jo-Anna Clayton: Went on Super Bowl Sunday and the food was so good. The staff are really nice and we enjoyed the game together. Definitely would go again. The staff were a little disorganized with orders but the food was delicious.

Moira Nadal: Fantastic home-style food. Everything is made fresh daily from rote to oxtail to juices. Great vegetarian and vegan options in addition to plenty for the carnivores.

D P: The food is good. I had the vegan jerk chicken and vegan pineapple chicken. Good. The prices are good and the sides. Mac n cheese, cabbage, rice and lentils. The people are nice and it is so flavorful. It was recommended by a friend. Thus was good. Definitely try again.

b h: Price $30 via DoorDash Dry food, bland food very flavorless taste, Hard meat Cury chicken 0 dry they gave me all white meat there was no juice in the chicken and the meat was mushy to chew. Cury chicken is made with DARK meat to make it juicy and succulent, Fall off the bone good. Rice & beans 10 it was great Mac & cheese 10 BUT there was vegetables in the Mac n cheese. Cabbage 0 they had the right ingredients and they were spicy but they are not fried or sautéed so they taste bland beyond the spicy flavor. Taste like spicy water Overall if I had gotten dark meat I would have enjoyed this meal but I was given dry white mushy meat. My kids who aren’t picky eaters said they could not eat the chicken either so it went to the trash

Mayo: These people seem to close when they feel like it. It says online that they are open until 8 but every other day, they close at a different time. I placed an order and they randomly cancelled it after sometime because they were suddenly "closed".

Indigo: what do users think?

Devang Patel: Awesome Hidden Jewel in DC Metro Area. Simple, No Frill Indian (Desi) Restaurants. Home Cooked Food, Desi Dhaba Feel ambient. Owner and Michelin Star Chef always available to Suggest you the Food and Drink Options. We had a Awesome time talking to Chef and Owner about their Journey and Food was JUST YUM YUM YUM!!! Highly Highly recommended.

Al Zee: I think this has got to be my favorite restaurant. I loved the lamb - both the lamb curry and indi roll. The spicy masala chicken was the bomb. I had the mango lasso for dessert which was also awesome. Only wish the soft drinks were bottomless. Definitely recommend. Oh, and the owner (or maybe manager?) was very nice. Thanks for a great overall experience.

Repo Man: Great little restaurant to get lunch or dinner. Love the outdoor seating. No waiters service. You order at counter they will bring it to you. Everything in disposable containers. Please try goat and aloo paratha. Hard to find parking on busy day.

Elizabeth Tate: Somehow I always forget to post a review, but this is my go to place in DC when I want to impress my out of town friends with flavor and ambiance. I love the string lights outside, the mango lassi is the best in the area, and the samosas are a meal in themselves that I keep going back for at least on a weekly basis.

Emily Smith: Great food and great drinks and a cool atmosphere! It is all outdoor seating but in a covered area. The bathrooms are a bit dirty and it can get cramped; other than that, everything is perfect here. Definitely check it out!

Ryan Rieboldt: Wowza was Indigo delicious!! I don’t do well with spicy food but man did I love it and it tasted so dang good! Atmosphere and music an absolute A+. Will certainly be back very soon.

Jasmine Savoy: The menu was a bit overwhelming but the food was good! The flavors were popping which I appreciate & the ginger beer too! Portion size could’ve been bigger

Angelica Sauceda: Wow, didn’t even know this place existed! I’m so glad we stumbled upon it. People, this is legit Indian food. Paneer pakora 5 ⭐️ Lamb curry 5 ⭐️ Goat curry 5 ⭐️ Green bean Aloo 5 ⭐️ Chaná served with food also 5 ⭐️

Business type: Falafel restaurant

Falafel Inc: what do users think?

C Lilakos: Literally one of the best values in DC. The falafel bowl is loaded with spinach, falafels, toppings, and as much sauce as you want for $7. You can add fries for $3. The fries are bomb, have great flavor, and they are generous with the serving. This is hands down the cheapest meal I have had since moving from Queens to DC. The food and sauces taste great. The red sauce is SPICY. I love spicy sauces but a little goes a long way with this one.

Alisha T: It’s THE falafel spot in DC. Fresh and tender! Love the $6 falafel veggie bowl with garlic sauce 💯 Wish they sold tabbouleh as a side. Try it and you’ll be back soon!

Alexander: Wow, really tasty! Workers weren’t the most chipper/ chatty, but that’s all right as I knew what I wanted. Falafel was fantastic, and the fries, well, you have to try them with their tasty sauces. There is a reason people are saying it’s Washington D.C.’s hottest new restaurant. It was worth it, and the prices were pretty fair! I would recommend you try it for yourself!

Larry “Big Schlim” Mcleod: On this episode of BIG SCHLIMS LITE POCKET MEALS it’s been a long while coming, but, I finally made it to 1140 Maine Ave., S.W. Washington D.C.… @Falafeldc !! You can truly get inexpensive and fufilling food here. On top of that it’s also healthy food. Everything in here is vegetarian or vegan. Every meal you buy helps to feed a refugee in need, so they can eat with dignity. DOPENESS!! . . . This place adorns one of my most favorite things about a eatery… A simplified menu. . . So first up you have a falafel sandwich (pictured with falafel, lettuce, red cabbage, Pali salad, tabouli, tahini, with red sauce on a fresh baked pita $4)…STAMP!! Fresh falafel ingredients, Stuffed in a sizable pita…WINNING!! . Second up is your falafel bowl (pictured with falafel, red cabbage, tabouli, tomato, cucumber, pickles, and Zatar chips on greens with special sauce $5). STAMP!! The freshness of the falafel sandwich w/o the bread!! . Thirdly there’s their 100% Vegan Shawarma sandwich (pictured with vegan meat, red umami cabbage, lettuce, pickles & special sauce $5). STAMP!! I know you’ve heard this before “You really can’t taste the difference!!” In this instance…it’s ABSOLUTELY TRUE!! . . Oh it’s not over!! I copped their Zaatar fries, Zaatar chips, & Hummus all for $3 each!! All these items were DELICIOUS too!! . . With stand up tables outside this spots customer service was on point, online navigation was smooth, the store cleanliness was decent, but parking was difficult. This is the perfect BIG SCHLIM LITE POCKET MEAL spot!! On another note places like these would be life changing in local disenfranchised neighborhoods…$3 bucks for a delicious healthy sandwich would go a long way, AROUND THE WAY. Try it. That’s it. #bigschlimsreviews #litepocketmeals #falafel #hummus #shawarma #falafelbowl #vegan #vegetarian #healthyeats #inexpensive

Krishna Bhavithavya Kidambi: What a great place at an amazingly cheap price point. $3 for a Falafel sandwich without compromising on the taste and it was a small menu. We went almost at the closing time still the falafel was crunchy and hot. The bow was also good. Get the sandwich with added hummus. They are following good covid protocols. The staff were wearing masks and they are allowing only 5 people at once. There is no parking here but there is street parking but it might be tough to find. Overall an amazing place and if you want enjoy falafel this is the place to go.

Ashley Romnosky: The food was delicious and the various sauces made every bite very different and exploding with flavor. The flafel and shawarma were both tasty.
