Pacers Running: what do users think?

Jasmine: Loved this local shop! Great selection of quality running shoes. The staff was very kind and incredibly helpful. I was sized so quickly and was paired with a perfect pair of running shoes. They had lots of cute running gear and clothing too. They also have buy 3 get one free promo for socks!

Mary Bei Prince: i visited the pacers on 14th street in search of a trusty walking shoe and was immediately greeted by two of the most customer oriented and knowledgeable employees, Sam and Ethan. They asked me a series of questions and watched me walk before using their expertise and experience to conjure a series of shoes that would support my flat, wide feet and supinated ankle. After trying on four different pairs of shoes i chose the arahi’s because of the spacious toe box and pitch. As someone with problem feet, shopping for shoes is extremely anxiety producing, but Sam and Ethan cultivated a comfortable environment in which i felt deeply cared for. I would recommend pacers to anyone looking for sneakers and community :)

Blake Arrington: Great staff, very kind and helpful Sarah helped us do a walking test to see what type of shoe is best for us. She brought out multiple shoes all with a smile and was very kind and helpful If you are looking to get into running or just being more active this is the place to start

Jessica Long: I went there to check out my next pair of running shoes. I told them what I was in previously and what I wanted to try and they were very accommodating! They didn’t have the shoe I wanted in the color I preferred, but ordered it for future pick up. Tim was a great help!

Michael Kennedy: Pacers is the best thing that has happened to me since moving here. The run club is friendly and well organized . When purchasing, the staff (Steve and Elyse) are supremely knowledgeable about the products , and unlike other stores are actual runners. 🤘

Andres Mendoza: Really nice running store with a good variety of shoes and running gear. The staff is really helpful and knowledgeable. They took the time to fit me properly and answered all my questions, and I had several. Kelce was the gentleman who took care of me and he really gave me helpful information without overwhelming me. I ended up with a pair of Brooks and a nice DC flag hat. I definitely recommend and will go back.

Tate Harris: Zach saved my feet!!! In my 18 years of life, I have never been able to find a pair of shoes that feel great on my awful feet. After walking 15,000 steps a day touring DC and suffering through every minute of it, I came into Pacers Running to get fitted. Zach had me take off my shoes, measured my feet, watched me walk, and gave me a few options. He was so sweet and professional and clearly incredibly experienced and skilled. It felt like he read my mind in terms of what I needed! I have never had shoes that fit me so well. People have told me that I need arch support for my whole life even though I find it painful but Zach knew just what I was talking about and found shoes that support my feet in other ways! My feet and I are SO grateful.

Georgetown Running Company: what do users think?

Nils Hünerfürst: And there was this Friday afternoon where I had the best shopping experience in my entire life. I’m a daily runner/walker and really need a shoe that supports me. The cool dude from the was a true professional and helped me find the real deal. Thanks!

Carly Tower: Staff, especially Andrew, was incredibly helpful for me finding the right shoe for my active lifestyle. Great customer service and a wide selection of brands and styles. Will certainly be back!

Joe Norton: Andrew, Victor and KellyAnne are highly knowledgeable running shoe and equipment consultants. Their attention to detail and desire to satisfy every customer is unparalleled. It can be scary to go to a running store but this team makes you feel welcomed! Highly recommend!

Michael Cook: Andrew the store manager provides the most thorough and complete assessment of your feet/running habits to put you in the best possible running shoe. Highly recommend for all runners!

Rebecca Opiela: Great customer service and found a great pair of shoes! The nice employees also gave me a student discount even though I graduated as a “graduation present” very nice 👏🏼

Soroush Bassam: Kellie was super nice knowledgeable. She took the time to listen and answered all my questions even though that meant staying after the store hours ended. definitely going back in future and strongly recommend to anyone wanting a personalized shopping experience.

Young Park: Drove over after an awful experience at the Road Runner Sport location in Rockville. Had some pain in my heel during my workouts and Andrew helped me right away. He assessed me on the spot and got me the best shoe that actually took away the pain. They didn’t have the right color and when ordering them was also not going to work, he offered the Nike store down the street. He didn’t get the sale but he still wanted to make sure the customer was taken care of. That is what this is all about. Will be back for my next purchase. All around a great experience.

Frederic Sottnick: Was having issues with my shins and hip while running. Staff were able to find insoles and shoes that work best for my running style. Great service would highly recommend.

Vivian Leslie: Had the BEST experience here. I went to 3 stores before finally ending up here to get my bf some good workout shoes. The African American man that helped up was so knowledgeable and listened to exactly what we needed and gave us good recommendations. Highly recommended

Jessie Durrett: Had a really good customer service experience, got shoes I liked, and they offered to recycle my old running shoes!

Sarah Luna: Highly recommend! It was busy when I walked in, but someone had greeted me as soon as I walked through the door. I asked immediately asked if I needed help and someone offered to go through a fitting with me. It was a great experience, they asked me about my past and current running experience, measured my feet, and even looked at the way I walked and noticed that I overpronate. They were very knowledgable and told me the benefits and cons of each shoe. Although they did not have a treadmill, they said I was more than welcome to take them outside and run around to test them. The gentleman who helped me was very patient and never rushed me. When checking out, they made a customer profile for me so they know what shoes I bought I will definitely be coming back.

Rick Yorgey: Kimberly is always so welcoming and thankful for our business. Love this place where you can find quality products, get great and knowledgeable service, AND sometimes get a fun story to boot, like maybe about a marathon PR in Little Rock. Ya gotta love it!

Steph Austin: The customer service was phenomenal! I walked in and was instantly greeted and catered to regarding my specific needs. Although they were short-staffed, the associates did a great job of multi-tasking and making sure everyone could be helped. David S. worked with me for almost 2 hrs to find the perfect shoes for my foot needs, not-to-mention, taught me about proper foot care and training. I will definitely be back. Thanks again David!

RMS: We were on our way home when we stumbled upon Road Runner (never heard of them) in fact we went to DSW a couple hours earlier to buy some running sneakers. So it was a satisfying surprise when we walked into Road Runner and was treated with the best service I have had in a very long time by our sales rep JACOB. I have to say he made the experience worth it, you can tell that he cares about his customers and enjoys what he does. Not only did we leave there as loyalty members but we returned our sneakers from DSW right after. Don’t walk but Run to this store!! Especially if you are serious about running.

Joyce Weru: Yesterday I decided to visit the Road Runner Sports in search of a running show as I prepare to run a half-marathon. What an amazing experience at this store; the precise process and just full experience of shopping for a shoe was absolutely incredible. David was the associate that worked with me, and you were patient in answering my millions of questions :) It was just incredible. Your patience and expertise took customer experience to a whole elevated level. Thank You. I felt welcomed; I felt confident in the choice of shoes that matched me. Also, the technology that they used was just amazing. I had to do a face time video with my daughter; that is how excited I was. I even promised to bring my daughter, who is a runner, to the store the next day, and that is exactly where we are headed today. Thank you, Road Runner, Arlington store; it was worth the drive to visit your store.

Kevin Brensinger: We have for years been buying shoes incorrectly. So often when we visit a shoe store it’s in an out assembly line style. From entering the store to checkout the experience was perfect. We were helped today by David. I have never had service or customer care than what he provided. Stellar patience and communicative skills. We left the store feeling more informed on proper shoe wear and with smiles on our faces. David is the epitome of great service.

Amy Wall: I came in yesterday for a new pair of running shoes! Jacob helped me figure out exactly what I needed to for my needs, fix the issues in my knee and hip and fit it in my budget. If you come in ask for Jacob and he’ll take care of you!!

Zx2Nick: Jacob was awesome. I was a walk-in in the Arlington, VA store and he took the time to fit me with some soles and test them out on several running shoes. He was never pushy or dismissive even after I told him I had not intention of buying sneakers from them. He still gave me his undivided attention and knowledge. After an hour, I left happy with my purchase. Definitely coming back in May to buy another set of custom insoles and maybe a pair of shoes for my kid.

Brittany Burgess: I must give a major shout out to David (the manager) of this store. I am starting my running journey and training for my first 5k soon. David was very knowledgeable, professional, and truly made sure I had a great experience, even as it was reaching closing time. I never felt rushed and all of my questions were answered. I left with a pair of Brooks Ghost 14 and New Balance Fresh Foam. Thanks David -- I am feeling great in my new kicks!!!!

Alexandra Newman: I can’t speak highly enough of my experience here! I’m not a stellar runner and recently experienced a lot of pain in my arch after a run. I knew I needed better shoes, so I took a chance here and I’m so glad I did. Leslie took so much time with me to assess my feet, make sure I understood everything, and to find the right shoe while making it a pleasant experience. The custom inserts they make on the spot will be a game changer for my feet at work. If you’re looking for a personalized shopping experience with people who take their time, this is the place to go!

Road Runner Sports: what do users think?

Mike Fronius: We were visiting the area from out of town and we stopped in on 7/19/2022. The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My wife and I both had the analysis of our feet for the proper shoe type. There were multiple shoe options available including various color options. We were given exceptional care during our visit and recommend stopping in to anyone looking for running shoes and related items.

Suzanne Martine.: Had a great experience at both Road Runner Sports in Sterling and Falls Church. They scanned my feet to assess the correct size, made custom inserts for my shoes, and as a VIP customer, swapped out a pair of running shoes I had purchased earlier because I lost some weight and needed a smaller sized shoe. They have all they need to make your running experience wonderful!! Highly recommend them…. 🎉🎊👏

Jim Zavatchen: Recently my lower back had been hurting after a long walks, and a friend recommended the custom insoles at Road Runner Sports. Matt Harlow walked me through the whole process of sizing my foot and understanding my higher arches. He was fantastic and provided a lot of good information. I love my new insoles. I will definitely be back in the near future. He Provided excellent customer service.

Jim Delaney: My wife and I came in to buy running shoes a few 2 weeks ago. Claudia helped us and she was terrific! She took the time to show us multiple brands in our sizes and explained the features of each shoe. We both walked out happy with our purchases. I came in today to get a pair of sandals. Claudia again helped me. She showed me 3 different models all while juggling 2 other customers. She was knowledgeable, patient and took the time to answer all my questions. I walked out with a great pair of sandals. Very happy with my experience at Roadrunner and with Claudia

G Martin: We love Roadrunner, but this visit was exceptional! Claudia was pleasant and attentive; she assisted my wife in getting fitted for her running and cross-training shoes. She helped me with my running shoes without trying to upsell us or pressure us into buying more STUFF! We wish that all of our shopping experiences with other stores could be as pleasant. Thanks again Claudia and Roadrunner! You have renewed our interest of in-person shopping.

Aron Sacchetti: Stopped in because I was in the area and was immediately pleased when they offered (insisted) on fitting me for the right shoes and insoles (without having an appointment). I’ve been to a number of running stores and they have never started out by insisting on fitting me for the right shoe. To top it off, the salesperson who helped me, was willing to take my feedback and guide me in a direction I felt comfortable. She kept me in the same brand I was familiar and happy with but helped me find a different model to try. Between that and the custom insoles, I was VERY pleased. As much as I prefer to “shop local”, I was VERY happy with my experience at this “chain” store and will definitely return! UPDATE: (Dec 27, 2021) stopped in again to order a new pair of my sneakers and to have a friend fitted for proper sneakers. Morgan took care of us and did a fantastic job! She was extremely patient and friendly. She took her time measuring our friend and brought out numerous shoes for her to try on. Great customer service is what keeps people coming back and Morgan certainly provided great service! Thanks again!

Brauna Carl: Claudia was fantastic! She evaluated me and my son and found great shoes for us. I especially loved that she listened to our preferences and didn’t just blindly follow the computerized evaluation system. Highly recommend!

Wongani Mtika: I’ve been a VIP member here for years, and it’s been so worth it. Recently went in for a new pair of shoes and received amazing customer service. My fit specialist Tyesha was so patient, kind and informative throughout the whole process. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Tony Zelaya: Outstanding experience!! Really did not plan on buying anything. However, Brenda was so Awesome that I bought two pairs and insoles for me and my son and socks. I was in the Shoe business for more than 30 years being buyer at Nordstrom and owning my own store for 11 years in Bethesda. I can really appreciate great customer service. Ask for Brenda!! Highly recommended by me Tony Z “The Potomac Garage Guy”

Emily Grossi: We had an excellent experience at Road Runner over the weekend. My son needed running shoes for track, and Kevin helped in so many ways. We left with desperately needed custom insoles, well fitting shoes, and non-cotton socks. Very pleased! Kevin and his colleague Philip were both extremely nice and knowledgeable.

Erik Klein: If you want the best shoes this is the place to go. They listen to what your looking for and make great recommendations. This is the second time Beryl has helped me find shoes and she is great. Friendly and considerate. Store is always clean and fun to go to. They are typically busy but communicate the best way to make sure you are helped. This is not the place you go just for cheap shoes but for people who need help finding the perfect shoe for their needs.

Evelyn Ross: Andi was very attentive and patient with me. Took her time tried different shoes to fit my needs. She was really knowledgeable about the shoes. My Hokas are very comfortable. She ordered another pair for me on line that was not in store. She took great care of me. I will continue to go there. 5 🌟 🌟 ⭐ 🌟 ⭐ for sure!!!

Travis Aldous: This place was amazing from the word go. While I was in there quite a while it was worthwhile. I have never had issue by experience like this, and found very interesting how they analyzed your stride and measured your feet making sure you got the best fit possible. Lawanda was amazing and very helpful I really felt like I learned a lot about shoes and how to go about moving forward in the future. Again never had an experience like this but will definitely be returning to the store it was fantastic

Jack jack: This place is awesome. They really do a great job of taking the time to meet with you and discuss the best shoe for you. They digitally scan your feet and video record your running gait to see what shoe is best for you and they custom mold inserts for your feet! Best running shoe experience I have ever had.

Jonathan Ratner: I was initially skeptical of the Road Runner foot measurement process. It seemed that it might be not that helpful, perhaps more of a gimmick. I left persuaded that their method yields practical insights for selecting the right shoe for a person—plus I left with a great pair of running/walking shoes! I really like them. In addition, the salesperson proved to be very knowledgeable and skilled at helping me select the right shoe. She also was very pleasant and friendly.

Kelly Williams-El'Amin: I came in, not knowing anything about track and needing shoes for my son. Kevin D came to the rescue. He was able to expertly service our needs while working with another customer. We appreciated his knowledge of HS track and never felt pressured to buy what we did not need. We became VIP members and will be going back!

REI Co-op: what do users think?

Michael Brown: As a company, REI should not inflict their political beliefs onto customers. That said, they carry good gear and this particular location is fantastic. Every time I have come here they have exactly what I need. The staff are friendly and helpful and generally knowledgeable. I don’t know who makes REI branded clothes and gear, but they do a good job.

Mike R: I like this store for so many reasons. First: they have excellent customer service. Today I walked in with my bike to get my flat tire fixed. A woman approached me and signed me in. Then a man walked up to me and asked if I would like to him to park my bike. I was appalled by this gesture. Second: This establishment has everything here. I mean like… leave that bike area if you want to. You will be buying anything from energy gel to underwear. Third: conveniently located right beside the metro.

Anne Probst: Thank you Jeremy in cycling for taking care of my bike I commute on. Haley assisted and was down to earth and happy. High five to Micah in footwear who helped me find a size in a scarpa I haven’t been able to find in stores in 4 years. He’s super knowledgeable and was connecting with all the customers. Thank you REI DC!

Louisa Buatti: I visited REI for the first time since the pandemic began. My pick up of an online order went very smoothly. Every staff person I encountered was friendly and helpful--they all offered to direct me to the customer service/pick up area. I was in and out of the store in a flash.

Maritza Cooper: Always a pleasure to visit this location. The store is always clean and organized. You usually get greeted as you walk in the door. The associates are always helpful and pretty knowledgeable. They will go out of their way to help! Well stocked too! Bought a fitness trampoline to keep a 7 yr old from going stir crazy in an apartment during these NO School days! Hope it works! It was Waaay up high. Had 3 different associates make sure I got what needed. All while helping other customers.

The Next King: Shallun was amazing!!!! Great help. First time coming to Dick’s Sporting Goods and I was impressed I will be back thank you.

david fegan: good experience shopping here today. multiple staff members were helpful.

Angie Owens: oh my goodness I was on the phone with my cousin, while she was shopping for football cleats for her son. When I tell you that the amount of "OUTSTANDING" customer service that the professional young lady "Ryan" gave to her while she was shopping was absolutely amazing!! I had to tell my cousin through the phone to please tell Ms. Ryan that the level of coatomer service she gave was "THE BEST" that I have seen in a very long time. Ryan if your reading this please keep up the good work!! I am extremely proud of you young lady.

Liliana Gonzalez: Zach did a great job helping me find the the gym equipment I needed. He even helped me load these items into my car after I doubted if the gym equiptment I bough would fit. Thank you so much to him and Horse for the exellent service!

Bella Adoni: Varieties of sports goods. Place was clean and staffs very attentive. They acknowledged us at the time of entry. I and my friend were the only customers in the store. I could have given the store five stars if the price for most of the items were reasonable.

Kerry Hannigan Plancon: I came in and thought I knew what I was doing. I didn’t! Fortunately Kelly came by and noticed me confusion. Kelly took over and found such perfect shoes for me that my husband asked about his needs and he also bought two pair. We love HS but love it more with Kelly to help! Ask for her - you’ll be very happy.

William Sterling: Arrived at showroom shortly before closing and had one of the best buying experiences in quite a while. George was on the floor and he was very patient and super knowledgeable. Provided the shoes that we requested and made some excellent recommendations, left with one pair but will be back for more.

Gary Tobias: Still a great company with great staff. They have weathered Covid with grace and charm and still Care about their customers.Stock issues still affecting everyone, but they try their hardest to help you out. Will always be a fan of Holabird Sports!

Frank Wasylko: I have purchased several pairs of running shoes from Holabird Sports over the years. The prices are great and so is there customer service and the shipping is fast and free. I highly recommend shopping here.

Tracy Love: Had a wonderful experience today I was advised by my coworker to shop here to be fitted properly and Kelly the sales rep was very knowledgeable ,patient and helpful assisting me in my footwear selections! Ms Peg was so sweet enjoyed talking with you today thanks for a wonderful shopping experience!

Marisa N: Great first-time online purchase experience - nice selection, superfast shipping, great packaging and items as described. Wished they offered better sales, but they had limited edition items I wanted, so I still highly recommend them.

K D: I recently had the pleasure of having Kim assist me with picking out the perfect shoes, and insoles to alleviate some of my pain from fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, and degenerative spine disease. When I explained my conditions to Kim, she was so knowledgeable, and helpful in narrowing down what shoes, and insoles that would be the best fit for me. She measured my foot size, assisted me in putting the shoes on, and made sure the shoes were properly fitted. Kim was very kind, and patient which I truly appreciated as when I walked in, I didn’t know where to begin, or what would help me. If you suffer from any conditions that cause pain, and need a great shoe, please visit Holabird Sports, and ask for Kim. You will be happy you did. Thank you again Kim!!

Michael Ryan: This is the best place for great shoes and professional advice.

Scott’s Run Nature Preserve: what do users think?

Pre C: 10/10 would recommend. There were a few different trials. The one I took was not long or hard at all. There were a few inclines and slopes that we’re icy but it was a great way to get in a little cardio. The waterfall was beautiful and so was the lake beside it. If you love nature and just the outdoors Come here. I sat near the waterfall and wrote some poetry. It’s a beautiful spot for a little picnic. Parking was a little close but if you can drive/Park then you’ll be fine lol. I will definitely be going back.

Juergen S: Great relatively easy hikes for the family. There were a few challenging hills on the trail, but only because they were a bit long. The pylon bridge could also be a moderate challenge for some, but really fun for the kids. See pics for bridges. The falls were very nice and worth the hike to see them and the river. We will come back to try more trails. Only critique is there was no description plaque for the old cabin location.

Da-Wang Wu: We arrived around 10am on Sunday morning and luckily took the last parking space in the parking lot. There were two parking lots, and we parked in the larger one that could directly work along the river to see the waterfall. Overall, it’s an easy hike with a short uphill hike, but little kids might not feel comfortable to cross the river.

Jessica Long: This is an amazing hike with a creek, a waterfall, and a beautiful jagged coast! It’s well marked with colored trails and map check points intermittently. It isn’t the best for children less than 4 or 5 because of some of the steep jagged parts along the Potomac. But these are potentially avoidable by taking routes that don’t follow the light blue trail to start. There was a hawk and people are very kind. The parking is tight. So, either get there early or bring some patience’s because you’ll have to wait. There is a Second parking lot a little less than half mile down the road from the first off of I-495 is bigger.

Liz Ford: I took my ten yr old son here and the only challenge is the parking. It is a sharp right turn off Georgetown Pike: so be prepared! Only about eight/ten spots but luckily someone left as we pulled in. The terrain is easily managed and we scaled some rocks to get above the waterfall and we traversed some to get immediately by the waterfall. It is a fun trek and we were off the trail for a bit but found our way back to the trail; after going off on a tangent. I recommend this hike and would do it again. Clearly posted trail maps are all over.

Kirsten Iba Onsted: Easy, fun, walk to a beautiful little fall where you can dip hot toes into cool water. Grand views and fresh air all around!

Shenita Boyd: My LO and I frequent hiking trails all around. This is by far one of the best in Northern VA. Definitely worth multiple visits. Added bonus not busy at all during the weekdays!

DIY Everyday: Nice trail to hike, beautiful fall foliage. Just lots of signs to watch out for deer management - guess people are hunting for deers in the area. Dogs must be on leash sign is clearly posted but some still don’t seem to pay attention about them!

Walmart Supercenter: what do users think?

Sassy Sauce: Mixed experience with this store. It’s a good location and there is parking available in the underground garage. First 2 hours are free. The store has items locked in a case that I couldn’t understand. For example, women’s underwear and some personal hygiene items. Also, the store wasn’t too crowded while I was there and the associate I asked to help me gave me clear directions as to what aisle the product I needed would on. The parts of the store I visited were clean and the overall shopping experience was ok. No major complaints. Just strange observations about profits being locked behind glass.

W&OD Trailhead: what do users think?

Jereth Tolentino: The W&OD is an amazing trail that this city is so lucky to have. I wish more city would have dedicated trail like this all over the US. It encourages people to bike to work. This trail is perfect for Cyclists, Runners, Walkers for all ages. Very safe dedicated trail with little to no Vehicles. It also connects other Trails like the Four Mile run and Mt. Vernon trail. Definitely a 5 star.

Jennifer Lancaster: Easy grade, paved, established trail. First mile and a half has pedestrian crossing, but once you cross Columbia Pike, no issues of car traffic if you really want to zone out. Beautiful scenery.

Nam Cao: Used the trail to bike into DC. Best way to travel in the city. Lots of bike lanes and beats walking. But scenery around trail (before arriving to the city) was not super exciting.

Gisela R: I love this trail, easy to run and always kept in great shape. However bit overcrowded during covid, love to see people out and getting active!

Murice Stod: Lovely trial! My family had some really good hikes here this past Saturday! Great view too!

Jessica Long: Parked on the street perpendicular to the trail. There was a sign that no parking from 7-9a M-F, but otherwise good parking available on that street. The trail is great. From the start there are stops for streets and lights, but past mile marker 2.5 or so, it was pretty continuous and uninterrupted. Nice scenes of the creek along the route and able to run the 4 mile trail run as well.

Sridhar Garikipati: The trial is next to many apartments in sterling area, this is my daily walking running and biking area. Being very next to apartment I don’t even have to use my car mount😀. It well cleaned bike road , I see many people everyday on this trial. Great to around the community such a trial

Damien Lawrence: Great trail, paved and mileage marked clearly.

Ruth M: Great century ride. Shirlington to Purcellville!

Fleet Feet - JackRabbit - West Side: what do users think?

Katelyn Gingrich: Definitely check out this running store. The team here is fantastic. I am from out-of-town and visited the city for the NYC Half this past weekend. Unfortunately I forgot my Garmin watch charger and knew my low battery watch wouldn’t make it to the start line. I visited two stores near Columbus circle and neither place were able to help. I became desperate and called other stores nearby and the wonderful team at Fleet Feet West Side answered my prayers. They had a Garmin charger on hand and offered to charge it a bit for me. They were able to get my watch to half battery and it lasted me my entire race! Their shop has a fabulous selection of socks with all the great brands like feetures, balega, and smartwool. I picked up a great running tank while I was there. They get bonus points for having my favorite Gu flavor: S’mores!

jeff rey: friendly knowledgeable staff, good prices ,great selection what more do you need ? why would you ever go to a mega chain box store for sneakers ? have been buying Hookas and Brooks from them for years, sorry it took me so long to write a review

Darren Thompson: I have been going to this location for my running needs for a few years now. Every time I go, it is always a good experience . But this time was better than any I previously had. A few weeks back, my wife and I went in for shoes for her to walk around in and do some arch repair on her feet as prescribed by her doctor. I went in just to get an idea of an upgrade to the running shoes I have for a couple of big races I will participate in. We met an associate named Jonathan and he wowed us with his knowledge and service. He could see we both had problems with our feet and gave great recommendations for both walking and distance running. I was able to walk away with some training shoes recommended to deal with knee pain and low arches. Thanks to him, I have greatly improved my running in a short amount of time. My wife was able to get some shoes to start the repair process on her collapsed arches. Jonathan, Thank you!!!

Rodrigo Gularte Mérida: I came to get a new pair of sneakers at the nyc west side store. The sales assistant had me walk and evaluated my pace and gate. Then put me on their treadmill to check if there was anything to correct. After he explained everything he observed, took a new foot measure and asked what style of sneaker I liked. Then brought over 6 pairs, and again had me walk and run to get a feel for them, and suggested me a set of insoles for arch support. Overall the Jack Rabbit staff was very professional, helpful and pleasant. They understood exactly what I was looking for and made excellent sneaker recommendations for my needs. I’ve now been using these non stop and my feet feel great.

Turkey Run Park: what do users think?

Jinmei Yin: It is a very fun trail, many crossings of runs, there are two places that need the tops to help cross. Follow the blue then yellow/orange marks.

Alex Kolkena: A beautiful trail with great views of the Potomac River. Definitely a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Washington DC.

Sai: Take a U turn instead of taking left towards park head quarters & head towards the exit after Turkey Run park board. Park at C1 or C2. Restrooms are available near parking. The trails start near C1 . American Legion trail is a quick loop with stairs . Theodre roosevelt trail is in the way of this trail.

Sam Jones: If coming from East, go past park headquarters and turn right after the Turkey Run Park sign. Coming from West is straight forward, just turn at Turkey Park sign. Under half a mile to the water if you park at C1. Lots of steps! Under half a mile to a gorgeous waterfall if you park at B or A. Use AllTrials app to find trail. If you park at

Camille Ng: Only checked the trail starting from Parkway Headquarters in area A. There is an outdoor restroom at this location. Easy trail to reach the Potomac Heritage trail except for a spot where you have the cross a river walking on rocks.

John Foltz: This was an awesome hike for our family to take. Beautifil scenery throughout the whole area. Hard to believe this is where it is. We look forward to going back here soon. I would really like to see it in the fall and winter months.

Mount Vernon Trail: what do users think?

Mike B: Great paved trail between DC and Mt Vernon. Parked at Jomes point rode to Mt. Vernon and back. Gets twisty and fun in some areas. Alternates from woods to Great views of the river. More hills than advertised gets hillier the closer you get to Mt. Vernon. Great ride.

e d: So far this is the best trail I ever been on. You get to pass around the memorials, plane landing watch area & beautiful bodies of water scenes. Anacostia is next up

Alfonso Ch: Nice bike ride. Challenging incline as you get close to Mt Vernon. Good views of Potomac. Well paved.

Li Hong: Hard to get to by car because the entrance looks like apartments, but its that area. You can go to the park below the bridge or the trail along the bridge on top! Sadly I got rained out of crossing the bridge but I will try again another time :)

Bryan Chambers: The scenery is spectacular and if you only hike a few miles of the whopping 18 mile trail, you may feel differently. ...and no, I did not hike the 18 miles. Truly a great trail to work on your miles. I plan to target different portions of the trail to build my miles.

Naheed Mann: Breath taking sunrise and sunsets along this trail. I work at Carl Sandburg Middle school off of Fort Hunt road and only took the job because of my drive in and drive out. I see the Potomac river off of the George W. Pkwy and its beautiful and soothing. I have a water star sign...go figure!

Jonathan Pham: Great trail that takes you to Mount Vernon. Tough climb on the bike to Washington’s house. But so worth it!

Ragged Mountain Running Shop: what do users think?

Devynn Banks: Went in today with my brother as I was looking for my first real quality shoe. I’ve always just bought whatever was on sale and never gave my feet the right attention when shopping for shoes. My PT recommended some stability shoes and suggested Ragged Mountain. Walked in this morning and was helped immediately! We had a younger woman assisting us and she was amazing. I could tell by her selection that she was pulling the right shoes for my feet. Once I checked out, my brother was so impressed by her knowledge and care that he also wanted to find a new pair! He has some previous foot/ankle injuries and they paired him with a great pair of Hokas! Loved my experience and will probably never buy another sneaker anywhere else!

Elizabeth Huber: Excellent online customer service! Within minutes of ordering my item, I was sent a personal email explaining that it had been shipped and I would receive my tracking order soon. I have ordered clothing from here before and the quality is always top-notch. It is easy to support a small business when they are as responsive and reliable as Ragged Mountain.

Logan Carver: I recently started walking 2+ miles a day & my feet were always killing me, after some recommendations I found out about Ragged Mountain & I will never get shoes anywhere else again. The staff is amazing & truly care about getting you in the right shoe. Not only do my feet no longer hurt I’m also able to maintain a better pace during my walk. Definitely recommend

Wendy McCarthy: The nicest, most helpful people in this store. They make each person feel special and give them their utmost attention when picking out the right shoe. Will most definitely go back for my next pair!!

Erica Josten: Customer service is above and beyond. Ragged Mountain is such a great store for runners and walkers alike. They take time to listen to your needs and find a shoe that works for you. Loyal customer for over a decade and will keep coming back!

DJ Bickers: Fantastic! So helpful and patient; excellent service. Very good value. My feet have never been this happy! I will definitely return in the future. Thank you!

Olivia Nolan: Excellent service. They had me walk without shoes, with my current shoes and in about 7 different new pairs, until we found the perfect fit. My lower back pain while exercising has disappeared. Thank you!!

Tabitha Collier: My sister needed new shoes for work so my mom took us here. They took time to actually watch how my sister walked and tried on several pairs to see which ones worked best for her!

Fletcher's Cove: what do users think?

Rosie: I loved this place. Set my portable hammock in the shade and let the day pass by. Plenty of families enjoying the place but not too crowded. Watch out for the ducks and their dropping in the grass. Go for a walk in the trial then relax and unwind here.

Leah Lambart: Fun park to bring kids and dogs. We had a fun time exploring this park and hiking trails. The trails were muddy at points but we walked in sneakers without any problem. They had many fishermen fishing off the side of the banks. It’s a great view of the river and nature. There’s plenty of things for kids to climb on and explore.

Johny Mccahill: Fletchers cove is a great place. You can find parking for your car or bike and look over the river and relax.Rent a boat and grab a snack and put in to enjoy nature along the shore and see ospreys and other wildlife abundantly.

Susan Reinhardt: Enjoyed a guided kayak tour on the Potomac on a spring evening just before sunset. Beautiful views, decent boats, and nice guides. A little pricey but worth it. We saw a bald eagle along the shore which let our boats drift nearer to him. Very cool!

Lauri Pesantez Pacheco: Beautiful place! To park there the car must go under a tunnel and there is a height limit. There is a boat/kayak rental and can use their ramp for personal kayaks for 5 dollars. There is also a free launching site that doesn’t have a ramp but is pretty easy to use.

Amjad Ibrahim: Really nice area I definitely recommend for a picnic and fishing

Bull Run Occoquan Trail: what do users think?

Liz Ford: I went with my no one year old son and we parked at Bull Run and then walked down a slight incline into the woods. As you head out, you can hear cars but the further you go, the sound disappears. It was a quiet trail and we only passed five people but we did start at 1:30 pm on a 90 degree day. There is a ton of shade and we did not overheat. There are clear marks throughout the trail to keep you on track. There was some woman who had her wet dog off leash and it jumped up on me but otherwise pretty uneventful. I recommend this for small kids and it was pretty easy. The public bathrooms are not open at the trailhead so plan to use the loo before you go.

Mariah: Lovely hike right next to the Occoquan. Enjoyed it along with my sister and grandma. We went about a mile and a half before turning around. I think the whole thing is about 6 miles and it takes you to a different parking area. I would definitely bring along good walking shoes and a walking stick if you plan on doing the whole trail as it can get a little strenuous is some parts. There were quite a few people out on the trail St. Patricks Day, and it was a gorgeous day to be out and about.

Sheema Javeed: Very nice hiking trail, lots of shade and greenery. Good workout

Saroj Poudyal: Good and quiet place for hiking around the lake.

Jacob Blandford: This is a great trail. It’s a little hard to find and follow at first but once you get past the marina it’s a wonderful trail that follows the river and has great views.
